- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, February 14th.
- 0:12Blessed without the burden. Have you ever chased something
- 0:15you were sure would make you happy, only to realize it came
- 0:18with stress, pressure, or regret you didn't expect?
- 0:22Maybe it was a goal you reached that left you exhausted, or
- 0:26approval you gained that made you anxious to keep it.
- 0:29The world often promises blessing but quietly attaches a
- 0:32burden. God's Word offers something
- 0:35radically different. Proverbs chapter 10, verse 22
- 0:38tells us the blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no
- 0:42sorrow with it. That's such a freeing truth.
- 0:46God's blessings don't come with hidden strings.
- 0:48They don't drain your soul or leave you feeling empty
- 0:51afterward. When God blesses, He brings
- 0:54fullness, peace, and joy that don't need to be defended or
- 0:57maintained by striving. Psalm 19 shows us where that
- 1:01kind of blessing is rooted. Psalm chapter 19 verse 7 says
- 1:06the law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul.
- 1:09The testimony of the Lord is sure making wise the simple.
- 1:13God knows how easily life wears us down.
- 1:16He knows when we're tired, confused, or discouraged.
- 1:20That's why His Word doesn't just inform us, it revives us.
- 1:24It breathes life back into places that feel dry and
- 1:26depleted. True blessing restores you from
- 1:30the inside out. Then in Acts chapter 14, we see
- 1:33this lived out in real time. Paul and Barnabas had preached
- 1:37the gospel, faced opposition, and endured hardship.
- 1:41Yet instead of walking away or giving up, they returned to the
- 1:44believers, strengthening their souls and encouraging them to
- 1:47continue in the faith. Acts chapter 14, verses 21 to 22
- 1:53show us that blessing doesn't mean the absence of difficulty.
- 1:57It means the presence of strength to keep going.
- 2:00This is such an important reminder, especially when it
- 2:03feels like everyone around you is chasing more.
- 2:06More success, more recognition, more comfort.
- 2:10God's blessing isn't about piling things onto your life,
- 2:13it's about anchoring your life in Him.
- 2:16It gives you wisdom when you feel unsure, strength when you
- 2:19feel weak, and joy that isn't shaken by circumstances.
- 2:23You don't have to carry the burden of keeping up or proving
- 2:26yourself. God's blessing brings peace not
- 2:29pressure, direction not confusion, endurance not
- 2:33burnout. When you choose His way, you
- 2:35discover that what He gives doesn't fade and doesn't weigh
- 2:38you down. It sustains you.
- 2:41So today, let your heart rest, let God's Word revive you.
- 2:45Let His blessing remind you that real richness isn't found in
- 2:48what you collect, but in who you walk with.
- 2:51His presence is the blessing that never brings sorrow.
- 2:54Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you that
- 2:57Your blessings are pure and life giving.
- 3:00Help me to stop chasing things that promise happiness but leave
- 3:03me empty. Revive my soul through Your Word
- 3:06and fill me with wisdom and strength from Your presence.
- 3:10Encourage my heart to keep going when faith feels hard and remind
- 3:13me that Your blessing brings joy without regret.
- 3:16I choose to trust You and rest in what you provide in Jesus
- 3:20name, Amen. What if the way you pray changed
- 3:24because you truly knew who God is?

- 4:43Proverbs chapter 10 verse 22 world English Bible yahweh's
- 4:48blessing brings wealth and he adds no trouble to it.
- 4:51Psalm chapter 19 World English Bible for the chief musician.
- 4:56A Psalm by David. The heavens declare the glory of
- 4:59God. The expanse shows his handiwork.
- 5:02Day after day they pour out speech, and night after night
- 5:05they display knowledge. There is no speech nor language
- 5:08where their voice is not heard. Their voice has gone out through
- 5:11all the earth, their words to the end of the world.
- 5:14In them he has set a tent for the sun, which is as a
- 5:17bridegroom coming out of his room like a strongman rejoicing
- 5:21to run his course. His going out is from the end of
- 5:23the heavens, His circuit to its ends.
- 5:26There is nothing hidden from its heat.
- 5:28Yahweh's law is perfect, restoring the soul.
- 5:31Yahweh's covenant is sure, making wise.
- 5:33The simple Yahweh's precepts are right, rejoicing the heart.
- 5:37Yahweh's commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes.
- 5:40The fear of Yahweh is clean, enduring forever.
- 5:43Yahweh's ordinances are true and righteous altogether.
- 5:46They are more to be desired than gold, yes, than much fine gold.
- 5:50Sweeter also than honey and the extract of the honeycomb.
- 5:54Moreover, your servant is warned by them.
- 5:56In keeping them there is great reward.
- 5:58Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors.
- 6:02Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins.
- 6:05Let them not have dominion over me.
- 6:07Then I will be upright. I will be blameless and innocent
- 6:10of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and
- 6:13the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight.
- 6:16Yahweh, my rock and my Redeemer. Acts, chapter 14.
- 6:20World English Bible in Iconium. They entered together into the
- 6:24synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke that a great multitude,
- 6:28both of Jews and of Greeks believed.
- 6:30But the disbelieving Jews stirred up and embittered the
- 6:32souls of the Gentiles against the brothers.
- 6:35Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in
- 6:38the Lord, who testified to the word of His grace, granting
- 6:42signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
- 6:45But the multitude of the city was divided, part sided with the
- 6:48Jews and part with the apostles. When some of both the Gentiles
- 6:52and the Jews with their rulers made a violent attempt to
- 6:55mistreat and stone them, they became aware of it and fled to
- 6:58the cities of Lychiania, Lystra, Derb, and the surrounding
- 7:02region. There they preach the good news.
- 7:04At Lystra a certain man sat impotent in his feet, a cripple
- 7:08from his mother's womb, who never had walked.
- 7:10He was listening to Paul speaking, who, fastening eyes on
- 7:13him, and seeing that he had faith to be made whole, said
- 7:16with a loud voice. Stand upright on your feet.
- 7:19He leaped up and walked. When the multitude saw what Paul
- 7:22had done, they lifted up their voice, saying in the language of
- 7:25lychiania, The gods have come down to us in the likeness of
- 7:28men. They called Barnabas Jupiter and
- 7:32Paul Mercury, because he was the chief speaker.
- 7:35The priest of Jupiter, whose temple was in front of their
- 7:37city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates and would have made
- 7:41a sacrifice along with the multitudes.
- 7:43But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore
- 7:47their clothes and sprang into the multitude, crying out, Men,
- 7:50why are you doing these things? We also are men of the same
- 7:53nature as you, and bring you good news that you should turn
- 7:56from these vain things to the living God who made the sky, the
- 8:00earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who in the generations
- 8:04gone by allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways.
- 8:07Yet he didn't leave himself without witness, in that He did
- 8:10good and gave you rains from the sky and fruitful seasons,
- 8:13filling our hearts with food and gladness.
- 8:16Even saying these things, they hardly stopped the multitudes
- 8:19from making a sacrifice to them. But some Jews from Antioch and
- 8:23Iconium came there, and having persuaded the multitudes, they
- 8:27stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he
- 8:30was dead. But as the disciples stood
- 8:32around him, he rose up and entered into the city.
- 8:35On the next day he went out with Barnabas to Derb.
- 8:38When they had preached the good news to that city and had made
- 8:41many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch,
- 8:45strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to
- 8:48continue in the faith, and that through many afflictions we must
- 8:51enter into God's Kingdom. When they had appointed elders
- 8:54for them in every assembly, and had prayed with fasting, they
- 8:58commended them to the Lord on whom they had believed.
- 9:01They passed through Pasidia and came to Pamphylia.
- 9:04When they had spoken the word in Purga, they went down to Italia.
- 9:08From there they sailed to Antioch from where they had been
- 9:10committed to the grace of God for the work which they had
- 9:13fulfilled. When they had arrived and had
- 9:15gathered the assembly together, they reported all the things
- 9:18that God had done with them and that He had opened a door of
- 9:22faith to the nations. They stayed there with the
- 9:24disciples for a long time. Thanks for joining us on Bible
