- 0:15Speaker 2: When you think about how.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Rich in history, how incredible D Day actually is, and
- 0:27Speaker 1: how monumental the efforts were to defeat Nazi Germany and
- 0:36Speaker 1: eliminate it from the world. On the one that up
- 0:40Speaker 1: with Alex Scaret podcast, did you know?
- 0:44Speaker 2: Did you know.
- 0:47Speaker 1: That the total number of soldiers that sacrificed their life
- 0:53Speaker 1: to change the world on this day, June sixth, nineteen
- 0:58Speaker 1: forty four forty four, one hundred and forty soldiers. That's
- 1:05Speaker 1: forty four hundred and fourteen soldiers collectively lost their lives
- 1:10Speaker 1: on D Day fighting to keep us, the United States,
- 1:14Speaker 1: and the world free. We must be thankful for their
- 1:17Speaker 1: sacrifice and their victory that we are here today.
- 1:21Speaker 2: In this nation. I go on to write that.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I will always be thankful to be in the United States.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Soldiers died and continue to die for us to remain free.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I believe the.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Forty four hundred and fourteen soldiers that gave their life
- 1:55Speaker 1: on this day when they stormed the beaches of Normandy
- 1:59Speaker 1: to keep our country free, well, they simply saw something
- 2:04Speaker 1: amazing about this country that made them want to serve
- 2:08Speaker 1: and sacrifice their life for us, for it, for the
- 2:12Speaker 1: United States of America, and a reminder that we must
- 2:19Speaker 1: continue to see this greatness of the country of the
- 2:22Speaker 1: United States of America that our soldiers, our founding fathers,
- 2:29Speaker 1: died for, sacrificed for to keep us.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Free today and it's a moment of unity.
- 2:41Speaker 1: We should all be unified around the fact that these
- 2:44Speaker 1: World War two veterans and World War two soldiers risked
- 2:50Speaker 1: it all.
- 2:51Speaker 2: And that does include Yogi Bearra.
- 2:55Speaker 1: It was very fitting tonight at Yankee Stadium that Yogi
- 2:59Speaker 1: was on our on D Day because he was right there.
- 3:04Speaker 1: He was right there involved with World War two fighting
- 3:09Speaker 1: alongside many other baseball players. Those guys' careers in baseball
- 3:19Speaker 1: got cut short, namealy Ted Williams because they wanted to
- 3:27Speaker 1: serve our country, because they too saw something great that
- 3:32Speaker 1: was worth defending and fighting for. Forty four hundred and
- 3:40Speaker 1: fourteen soldiers sacrificed their life on D Day.
- 3:47Speaker 2: And why because.
- 3:49Speaker 1: They believed in the greatness of our country and what

- 4:18Speaker 1: It is a monumental day, the day where the actual
- 4:25Speaker 1: lives were lost.
- 4:32Speaker 2: And we remember them.
- 4:35Speaker 1: This does feel like Memorial Day when you think of
- 4:37Speaker 1: the statistics of who and how many sacrifice their lives
- 4:43Speaker 1: on June sixth, nineteen forty four.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Just because eighty.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Years has come and gone doesn't mean we can't honor
- 4:55Speaker 1: and remember what happened on D Day eighty one years ago.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Go and as I might have said on this podcast before,
- 5:06Speaker 1: they stormed the beaches of Normandy, so you can have
- 5:09Speaker 1: every freaking beach day you want this summer, they stormed
- 5:18Speaker 1: the beaches of Normandy, so you can have your beach day.
- 5:25Speaker 2: So think about that.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Because they were not tanning, they were not soaking up
- 5:33Speaker 1: the sun. They were on the beaches of Normandy for
- 5:38Speaker 1: a bigger cause, a cause that as is where we
- 5:44Speaker 1: are today, a cause that most likely.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Helped lead to the.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Development of the A bomb, which will be dropped a
- 5:57Speaker 1: year and two.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Months later August sixth, nineteen forty five.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Today is the day that changed the world, and I
- 6:15Speaker 1: thank god it did.
- 6:18Speaker 2: And maybe we can live life with one leg up.
- 6:26Speaker 1: On honoring the troops, the fallen, Those are sacrifice of
- 6:31Speaker 1: their lives for us, and maybe you can teach generations
- 6:39Speaker 1: after us. Hey, America is a freaking good, amazing place
- 6:45Speaker 1: to live. It is great, So don't join the masses
- 6:52Speaker 1: that would say it's a.
- 6:55Speaker 2: This, that and the other. It's got to be torn down.
- 7:00Speaker 1: The generations after us have to have this education over
- 7:03Speaker 1: and over that we are a great country.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Because we can reach one person.
- 7:13Speaker 1: In these anti American camps, we can reach so many more.
- 7:21Speaker 2: And I get it.
- 7:21Speaker 1: The troops died, so you can say whatever the f
- 7:24Speaker 1: you want, but be a little freaking grateful for this
- 7:31Speaker 1: country that these soldiers have died for.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Fourteen hundred forty four hundred and fourteen.
