Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome, everybody.
- 0:02[SPEAKER_02]: This is the Saturday of course at Saturday.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_02]: So that means it's the orange and blue view podcast.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm Chad Jensen with me as always on Saturday nights.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_02]: You know him, you love him, Ron, White, and Ron by now the folks in the community.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_02]: They've heard from me on multiple occasions since the Jalen water trade went through.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_02]: But I know the kind of euphoria of it, maybe it's died off a little bit.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_02]: But did share your gut reaction to the mega trade the Broncos were working on and got done last Tuesday, bringing Jalen Waddle to the Mile High City?
- 0:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, it was great.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_04]: I am elated that this trade took place, Chad.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_04]: And we were wondering this whole time, like, you know, when
- 0:51[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, I know they resigned their own players great, but it's like we were looking for that one splash move that one external move and nothing happened and the news broke all the enough on St. Patrick's day.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_04]: that jail and water is a Bronco and I just cannot contain my excitement.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, the guy just offers so much, he's just so explosive.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he's very, very fast, can run just about every rattle in the run tree.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_04]: And the Broncos have been missing.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_04]: a dynamic weapon such as a jailing model.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_04]: So it's great that he's now a Bronco and I am very intrigued now, moving forward as it sees and starts and into the season, how Davis web uses this explosive weapon and it's going to create opportunities for others to get involved, Portland,
- 1:51[SPEAKER_04]: So those should be the biggest benefactors from this move, but very, very happy that this went down.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the implications.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_02]: We're still kind of rolling with the punches and what it could mean for everybody.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_02]: There's, uh, I don't, I wouldn't necessarily call it rumors, but just speculation.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: Well, could this mean that the Broncos are going to trade Troy Franklin or the very least that his name could be on the block.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to talk about some of that stuff tonight.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, but first things first, we got some halos.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: We're also going to get into what Sean Payton said.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: about Jalen Waterland is first public comments about the water trade.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, you know, who got it.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: Kay Adams, who's always not only able to get Sean Payton talking, but in this instance, doing a little water, we're going to we're going to look at that.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to talk about it.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: Some quick aloes though here first.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_02]: We got the pop of bear in the house on YouTube.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: Dear member, bona fide, Mount Rushmore, super star, great to see you pal, saying good evening, Broncos country, hashtag god bless the USA, I'm buckham with a B YouTube, buckham times three.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_02]: I love it, dude, great to see you pop a bear.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for being with us tonight for this for the support big dog.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_02]: We also got Raj aka the stream guy.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_02]: in the House saying good evening, Chad Ron Broncos country, a free agent signing should make Zach happy and he saw it information yet on the MIMS trade to the jets or a trade package with multiple players.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know about that, Ron, but
- 3:18[SPEAKER_02]: Mims would be the guy in my opinion.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: If you look at, okay, who's maybe expendable with water coming into the picture, Mims is the last guy of that crew.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: Believe it or not, in my opinion, that you would even think about moving on from, not just because of his expertise as a returner run, but
- 3:36[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, he just makes plays like when his number gets called, he answers the bell and he usually saves it for like the most important points that clutch gene.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_02]: I would hate to see memes going, however, he is playing on an expiring contract so it's something we have to at least consider.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, thank you, string guy for coming in and Chad, I'm right, I'm right there with you, I agree, I think if it's.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_04]: Um, anyone that's probably safe out of this, it would be memes just because he does provide the special teams, um, capability and, you know, he's been, you know, he's been all pro's special teams player, um, and when he's given that opportunity on offense,
- 4:16[SPEAKER_04]: He's delivered.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_04]: And again, I'm not saying that he's a better player per se than Troy Franklin, but when he is on the field and is given the ball, he actually makes plays.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_04]: Mimps does.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_04]: So it's just, I just would hate for that to happen for them to trade Mims.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_04]: Um, again, I know he's in that contract year, but you just, you just wouldn't let a weapon like that go, but I know we're going to get to a jab, but I think this kind of is an indictment now on Troy Franklin possibly being dealt.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_04]: And I think this is more of a, hey, you're you're own notice sort of speak, um, you know, because I've just been not the biggest fan of them trying to will this, why to receive or two thing with Troy Franklin.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_04]: I just want them to be done with that experiment.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: They gave it the old college try and he did take steps forward, but he just doesn't bring that kind of presence that takes the attention off of Portland Sutton and forces defense to play defenses to play a little bit more honestly against the Broncos.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we'll keep getting into a string guy good to see.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_02]: We got the rock in the house dude.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_02]: Great to see another deer member in a superstar.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: saying hit the thumbs up, subscribe to the MHH podcast on YouTube.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_02]: Become a member.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_02]: Indeed, look, he's doing our job for us here on the Mount Rushmore supporter, join the MHH podcast Discord.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: See, we love it.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, that's, that's you taking ownership right alongside us, brother, and we appreciate you, Ron.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_02]: But check this out guys.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: This is kind of cool.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to play this Ron.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to have to tell me and make sure the audio is coming through.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to click over and play this.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_02]: This was yesterday.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_02]: Let me see if I can blow it up just a little bit before.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's about as good as it's going to get.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: So this is Sean Peyton talking to Kay Adams.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's been obviously an LA for the fanatics flag football thing and his team and the founders.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_02]: They got trucked by the USA National team today, but that's about what you expect for the flag football thing.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_02]: But here's what he said.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_02]: Any guys check it out.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_02]: He even does the water.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: If again, you are.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: What do you love about what?
- 6:22[SPEAKER_03]: There's a grit to him, guys like Teddy Bridgewater, Nick Sabre.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, a ton of people talk about his high-high competes.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_03]: The minute it happened, though, there was this immediate thought he would be perfect for this game.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: New York.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_03]: Having had a chance to meet our international team.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_03]: I've seen eight.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_02]: So then he gets talking about the flag football thing that literally nobody cares about.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: However, Ron,
- 6:48[SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about what he just said.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_02]: So, grit, he talked about grit.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: He said, from Teddy Bridgewater, he named dropped Teddy, he named dropped Nick Savin, who of course coached him in college at Alabama, that he competes at a high level.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: What are some of your takeaways from Sean Payton's first public words on Jalen Wattle being a Bronco?
- 7:09[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it shows on tape like the grit, how he competes.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_04]: So what Sean Peyton said is in the surprise.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, Chad, I was going back and watching some Alabama highlights.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_04]: And just, man, the guy is just so explosive.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_04]: Just that straight line speed.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_04]: The way he prepares for games, the way how he's used as a weapon on the field, how he competes.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_04]: I think that's the biggest draw for Sean Payton and getting the endorsement of someone like Nick Sabin.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you know, that's probably the highest as they come in college football.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_04]: I think speaks volumes.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_04]: We know other players in the league.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, his best friend in Patrick Sertan, also holds him in high regard.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_04]: So it's just great to see him getting those endorsements from people within the college football ranks and within the NFL.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just going to show you that he's going to be a good part of continuing to build this culture here in Denver.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: and you see how much that matters to coaches, especially a coach like Peyton who's, you know, he's worked three years to instill his culture in Denver and everybody, clearly by last year, it's obvious like everyone has bought in and you need guys who aren't going to come in here like perhaps an AJ Brown might be offering you some kind of dev attitude or you're separating from the
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: collective you want someone who's ready to buy in and someone who competes hard let alone what he actually does on the field right like his four three speed and all the other stuff that we could get into so he fits that culture thing and it's it's pretty clear to see why Sean Peyton and the Broncos have coveted water now for a while so we'll talk hey Jordan what's up dude good to see yet another dear member in the hazy saying good evening Chad and Ron hope you guys are doing well you as well brother we also had another
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: outside move that Todd's bringing up here on the only outside free agent that the Broncos have signed since free agency opened now we're going it'll be two weeks on Monday is the safety formerly of the Cincinnati Bengals Tyson Anderson he's saying as Todd he's just here to play some specials for you here and then on to the next team for him but how do you see Tyson Anderson fitting in especially Ron knowing
- 9:32[SPEAKER_02]: PJ Locks gone and where does that lead Brandon Jones who's coming off that injury, you know, is he going to be 100% torn pectoral, etc.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, thank you for pointing it out Todd, it's just again more safety depth and if they need it that, so fulfill that role that boy that PJ Lock.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_04]: Left and yeah, he's he's a good special teams player for play well for Cincinnati.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_04]: According to some of my Cincinnati folks there on Twitter, it looks like they're going to miss him.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_04]: So that actually speaks volumes.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, I did watch a few highlights when he did take some defensive snaps and he's he's pretty good.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_04]: He's actually pretty good.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm glad that they were able to at least get that deal going and and fill out that depth at the safety position.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_02]: and he's crazy fast for how tall he is.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_02]: He's six foot two and at the combine ended up, I think he was a fifth round pick as synthsees, but he ended up running like under a four four or right out of four four.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_02]: I could pull it up again, but I was actually surprised by that.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, whoa, this dude's got some wheels.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_02]: Mike, what's up, dude?
- 10:34[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: Some other shots to the members.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_02]: We got David T in the house and hello.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: We got with us Mike, what's up, dude?
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: He says, we all need to let the coach do his
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: He knows what he needs to do his job.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone take a deep breath.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think for the most part, Mike, good to have you again, my brother and I'll do respect.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think everybody, Broncos fans, it kinda.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_02]: how that collective exhale last Tuesday.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_02]: And we were all as we scratched our heads and we started inching toward like panic, not panic panic, but inching toward like what the heck is going on here?
- 11:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like are we all taking crazy pills?
- 11:11[SPEAKER_02]: The whole rest of the NFL's out there making moves to improve their teams.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos are standing on the sidelines.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_02]: They got to be working on something.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: was the hope was the belief and it turned out wrong.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, indeed, they were.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_02]: And it took some time because the dolphins had to say no to a better offer.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_02]: They had to weigh that.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_02]: They were getting a better offer from Buffalo, but because it's a division rival, they're like, now we're going to take the Broncos offer, which
- 11:34[SPEAKER_02]: Well, isn't nothing.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they got a first round pick, third round pick, plus, you know, they swapped the forums, et cetera.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_02]: So, and the other thing I really like about this deal, Ron, is the fact that in 2026, right, it's all about maximizing what remains of Botanix's cost control window, right?
- 11:52[SPEAKER_02]: They're only going to carry 5 million in in cap charge this season.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_02]: So, that makes him relative to just this season.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_02]: Now, the Piper will have to be paid in 27 and beyond.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_02]: But for this season,
- 12:05[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's the good point.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_04]: Get against the cap this year's relatively inexpensive, but I know that does balloon 2027 and beyond.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_04]: I know they'll do some restructures that come back to the table, so on and so forth.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, I mean, yes, we will let the coach do this thing and Sean Payton has given you no reason to doubt here.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_04]: These past three seasons, but we can still be critical.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_04]: And that first week of free agency, part of my issue chat was, them not going all in on the weakest position on the roster.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_04]: And that was the running back.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, they're now back somewhat in my good graces with the water trade, but, you know, some of these deals I've heard for Algear.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_04]: And the fact that they didn't even sniff Algear's direction.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_04]: I know how Jerry got from the card knows you're like, come on, the Broncos can have done that.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_04]: And you couldn't have paid a little bit more for E.T.N.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_04]: You know, if that was your target, now again, I love J.K. Dobbins.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I love him.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_04]: But we know the issue with him has always been his help.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_04]: But when he's healthy and on the field, excellent back.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm glad that they resigned them, but just not being more aggressive
- 13:29[SPEAKER_04]: I think that was where I was the most critical of the Broncos at this daughter for you.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's fair, man, you and I both really love Algeria as a great compliment, not necessarily replace JK Dobbins.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: I'm all for him bringing him back, but as a compliment and a hedge against the probability, I don't even say possibility.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: It's the probability because the best predictor of the future is the past and he's been hurt.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_02]: He gets hurt every single year, a little bit of a compliment, a little bit of a backup option to help on first and second down if he goes down.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: By the way, Mike Celebrate and Membership for a month, dude, love it, brother.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's great.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: As we do have so much more that we're going to be getting to this evening.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: But first, you know what time it is, it's March.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_02]: And the tournament is back.

- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: All right, we go back to the chat here and by the way, Sean Peyton, I did cut the clip off.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: She asked him about free agency very briefly and he's like, I have free agency was tough.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that first week, they were in Ron on a few of those conversations.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like we do know they were in a little bit on Kenneth Walker, the third who ended up signing with KC and they were in on Etienne a little bit as well.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_02]: But just didn't want to go third to 13 million or didn't want to go in Walker's case to 14 million.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_02]: But tight end has been a real head structure dude.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_02]: And David T says listen, I don't know if we're going to get a tight end because they did resign, traveling to such a big contract.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_02]: I know, dude.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_02]: And that's of all the moves they made.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: I believe it or not.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_02]: I know there's it's kind of a controversial take in Broncos country.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_02]: I'm totally cool with the money they gave Alex Singleton.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: And the fact that they brought him back.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'm totally cool with with the money they gave JK et cetera.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: The one move where I'm like, was that in Troutman bringing him back for just under six million per year, Ron on a three year contract.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that was that was the worst move for me and you know, you have Adam Chapman out here in Twitter saying that you know, there are a couple teams that were interested.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_04]: I'm like, who else is interested in you.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_04]: Chapman.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_04]: Like, because your play doesn't.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_04]: doesn't leave me to believe that.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_04]: And so, especially what they had in the market chat out there on the free agent market, they were a few options.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_04]: And Joke was still out there, at least to my knowledge.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_04]: So the fact that they's resigned, troupe, and gave them the deal he got, it just was so baffling to me.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_04]: So I would say that's probably the worst move.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_04]: Now I'm glad that their resigns do not.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_04]: I actually saw that coming.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not the biggest fan.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to be honest with you of Singleton coming back.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_04]: I thought they would have, you know, be a little bit more aggressive and getting an external free agent to replace Alex Singleton.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I know the lower deal was out of control because I know he was going to be commanding a lot.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, they could have been a little bit more aggressive with some of these other Fri agent line backers.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_04]: Um, and I'm okay with JK Dobbins.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you know, it's it's a little high, but I mean, again, the production, they're really banking on him staying healthy.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_04]: And I know it's essentially a one year deal and they can get out of it after, you know, that second year.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_04]: But
- 18:26[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I think they're just really banging on him staying healthy and, you know, if he wasn't hurt, he was on pace to be a thousand yard russia this year.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_04]: So, or this past season.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_04]: So, again, the deals overall, the resignings haven't been horrible.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_04]: It's just that shopman deal.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_04]: I can't get over.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_04]: And then I just wish they would have had someone else to compliment
- 18:58[SPEAKER_04]: A little.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_04]: I was a little.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I think the production tells you that that was going to happen.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_04]: Um, but, and obviously, you know, that drag and we love just can't stay healthy.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, some of these games chat, he has just been all over the field.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_04]: Like, the ones he's played in,
- 19:26[SPEAKER_04]: And even the AFC championship game, he was actually wrecking force in the AFC championship game as well.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_04]: So again, his impact is presence, you know, that's going to be missed, but I kind of saw that coming given, you know, he's not, he's not been on the field much.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_04]: And then I know I've heard things of him not maybe, you know, fitting in with the culture there at Denver as well.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_04]: So I kind of saw that one coming approach.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_04]: But he's back with his old team in the 49ers, so go for him.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_02]: You look at the four main guys, the Bronco signed in free agency last year, right?
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: You got talent, who found an Ebony and Graham Drey, and then not in the first or second or third or fourth wave.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we're talking like, right, basically it was the last day of the offseason training program.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_02]: Dobbins was there for mandatory mini camp, just to say, hi, he wasn't really doing anything.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_02]: Like, he just showed up the sign as contract.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_02]: But those four guys, all four of them came with a pretty considerable injury risk.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think you could say, Ron, that the Broncos battered 75% on that, because even JK getting hurt, what he gave them, the 10 games he was on the field was top five production.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately, in the case of Dre, he ends up missing whatever it was, something like eight games, and when he was on the field,
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure you could argue that he was top five, but I loved his, at his position.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I loved his energy, I loved that physicality and kind of a little bit of that swag.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_02]: And even he got in trouble for some of that swag right after the giant's game kind of pushing or whatever happened with the ref.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_02]: kind of trying to run interference for his boy for Justin Sternan who the wrap actually pushed and Jay's like what's going on here?
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: So I respected that and I appreciated that but unfortunately the production didn't match the contract and I think the Broncos were kind of like well if we had a little bit more confidence we could keep him on the field he probably would still be a Bronco but then they're like we're going to pull the plug meanwhile though
- 21:27[SPEAKER_02]: You go, all right, why you keep JK Dobbins and yet not Drake Greenlock is both kind of struggle to stay on the field They produced you can argue fine when they were on the field, but Ron, so it makes you wonder like where was the Separation like why JK Dobbins why not Drake Greenlock?
- 21:47[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it does make you wonder and that's that's kind of a question I've been asking myself, but again, it's just the production went on the field and you know, when JK was on the field, I mean, I think by the way, I think at that time he was a top five rusher.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_04]: and the Broncos were like a top four or five rushing offense.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, though him alone was, you know, Harvey had his moments too.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_04]: But he was Harvey worth the reasons for that.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_04]: And I just think the Broncos and obviously his energy, his personality, he fits in better with the Denver culture too.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_04]: So I think given that they wanted to keep
- 22:27[SPEAKER_04]: JK on the team and I think again, they are understandable of his injury history, but they still want to keep them meanwhile with green log just like you're not producing and plus you're not a fit, you gotta go.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_02]: And a lot of the time that he missed was the time that you need to take what you learned in the classroom and implement it on the field, right?
- 22:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like in JK's case, yeah, he joined late, but he was there for all a training camp.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_02]: He was there for the preseason, didn't play a lot in the preseason if at all.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to think back, but he was there for it for the practices and Dre.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he got two or three practices in to training camp and re aggravated the quad after missing the entire offseason training program because that initial quad that he suffered happened right before OTAs away from the facility.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_02]: So I got to believe that missing all that action did impact rays ability to kind of translate the scheme and what he learned to his play on the field and given a little bit more time.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: I think he would have been better.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_02]: But the Broncos pulled the plug of Tucson Phil checking in what's up big dog.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_02]: great to see it.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate the stars as always my brother on Facebook.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_02]: Hope our Facebookers are doing well.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_02]: Phil says good evening, Chad and Ron, do you see us take in Mike Washington Jr. if available?
- 23:41[SPEAKER_02]: This is the Arkansas running back that absolutely exploded the combine says that seems to me the running back room is getting crowded.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_02]: Hashtag buck on my message for life, Broncos for life.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_02]: So Washington is really interesting.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_02]: When I was at the senior bull,
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: with Scott back in January.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_02]: He was the number one running back guy that just kind of popped very clearly in the practices.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_02]: He seemed like he was pretty relatively smooth as a pass catcher when you get out there running routes against linebackers kind of it.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_02]: I liked everything he brought to the table, but I would be lying to you if I were to say I expected him to do at the combine what he did.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_02]: Now Ron, it's like with the Broncos moving out of that first
- 24:24[SPEAKER_02]: They're sitting at pick 62 in the second, and that now has to kind of get us by as their first pick of the draft kind of like 22 with Nick Benito 2023 with Marvin Minnes Jr.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_02]: I just have a hard time with how well he acquitted himself Ron at the combine.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: I just have a hard time seeing him be there at 62.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_02]: If he is by Golly, you take that, you make that pick and you run it down to the podium, so to speak.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Phil, thank you again for coming in.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, I do think if he is there at 62, you know, the Broncos should definitely take him.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_04]: I guess just the question is will he be there?
- 25:05[SPEAKER_04]: His stock, after that combine performance, his stock is true.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_04]: So he's probably going to be early, early second round, I think I've been hearing those talks.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_04]: Um, but yeah, I think if he's there at 62 that, that should be, um, you know, the pick.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_04]: Um, we just know how this running back classes.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_04]: It's, it's, it's, it's not a deep class for the running back position.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_04]: So no, if you have a jadarian price, if you have Mike Washington, if, you know, one of them falls a Jonah Coleman even.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, if they're there at 62, I think the Broncos need to go ahead and pull the trigger because they just can't afford to wait.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_04]: Um, and try to have maybe some of these backs on the later half and see what you can find there, but I just don't think that's wise, but yeah, I like I like Mike Washington.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_04]: I think my thing is though.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_04]: I.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_04]: That's why Chad and Phil, I still want the Broncos to bring in a veteran.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_04]: I know there are a few names out there like Brian Robis and junior.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_04]: I think he would be good to kind of solidify that room more from a better and perspective because again my opinion is in the Super Bowl window I just don't think you can trust JK's health with a second year RJ Harvey and a rookie
- 26:29[SPEAKER_02]: I know, but you just named the three running backs.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: I like the most.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_02]: We already mentioned, well, Phil mentioned in my Washington, but jittery and price is my my guy for Denver.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_02]: I just once again, now not be in there at the end of the first round.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, I don't, I think price will be out of reach.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_02]: I think Washington will be out of reach.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_02]: Jonah, though, the Washington running back, he might be there for the take.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_02]: But good stuff, Phil.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_02]: And look, the contracts you got to keep in mind, yeah, it kind of feels like they're, they're just based, yeah, it's getting crowded in the sense that they ran a back completely at running back.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_02]: The contracts that they gave to Jolil McLaughlin and the tender, for example, that Tyler Badeceign, all they do is basically guarantee him a spot in training camp.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: So if the Broncos bring in guys, there will be, and including the draft competition there, trust on that.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_02]: We got also checking in here.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_02]: on super chat, corn bretomus in the hissy.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_02]: Now that's a newer name.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_02]: So welcome big dog.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_02]: Great to have you with us.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_02]: We appreciate the super chat.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: And he's saying Mike Washington and Jackson Akker and then I'd be having a party.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, a couple of interesting names, corn bread and here's what, uh, so the first MHH mock draft.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_02]: since the Jalen water pick.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_02]: So now account or trade.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_02]: Now accounting for the fact that the Broncos don't have a first round pick.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_02]: They don't have a third.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_02]: So this is trickles first.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_02]: Full Broncos mock post water trade.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, when you're when you guys are reading MHH, you're reading Denver Broncos on a side.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: And you see this little thing here that says Adis has a preferred source on Google.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: Click that button.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_02]: It helps us out a lot.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_02]: But the first pick
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: trickle likes Jake Golday, the Cincinnati linebacker who would bake a lot of sense because, you know, you're going to need three linebackers like you had last season right now, Ron, you only have two.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_02]: So I like linebacker as a distinct.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_02]: possibility for Denver with their first pick of this draft goal day.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_02]: He's a great option there.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: Round four, because now you're skipping round three, he's got the Broncos taking a ballhacking safety out of TCU, kid by the name of Bud Clark, very interesting player.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_02]: He's got some warts.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_02]: That's why he's a fourth round option, but talk about ballhuck in the same way kind of Jake Juan Macmillan ballhuck, you know, always around it.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_02]: the other fourth round pick interior defense alignment Caleb Proctor from southern south eastern Louisiana, another interesting guy could bring some past rushing traits from the inside.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: And then this guy who kind of got a raw hand, a raw hand, so to speak, ran at the combine with them discovering that injury.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_02]: Oscar Delp tied in from Georgia.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_02]: I'd love that pick in the fifth round of either there.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_02]: And then you get down, you're skipping the six, but you got a few in the seventh because of the comp picks.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_02]: And he's got linebacker, Jimmy Rolder from Michigan as the first one.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_02]: And then the second one is the kind of blocking tight end from Ohio State.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I always butcher this dude's name, Casemaric.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_02]: I think as how you say it.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_02]: And then last, a running back from Oregon, he likes to e-calls him
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: Noah Whittington, your thoughts wrong.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, this is a pretty solid draft.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_04]: I like this.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_04]: I like this, my draft.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_04]: I'm with Eric in the sense of, I do think, you know, depending on if the running backs, if there's a run on those running backs, linebacker should be that pick at 62.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm I'm big on Gold Day.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_04]: Very good sticky and coverage.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_04]: I like this game.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_04]: Um, and then also he has another one of my favorites since I'm a Georgia Bulldog guy.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_04]: I'm a big Oscar Delphan and I know the medicals were going to be a concern.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he's dealt with that, you know, all of his years in college.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, after his pro-day, you know, his stock has risen.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_04]: So I would be elated with Oscar Delph as well.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, I do like, I think it's a good solid draft.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_04]: I like his other Titan pick because we do need that blocking presence at Titan.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_04]: I think that Ohio State Titan does that.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, I like it.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_02]: All right, corn bretomus dude.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for chipping in on a super chat this Saturday evening big dog.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: We really appreciate you.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_02]: And guys, we got more to get to.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_02]: We are not done.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: But guys, I got to take you back in time a little bit first and remind you that when we first started the MHH merch store way back in 2019,
- 31:03[SPEAKER_02]: We weren't sure whether it was the right decision and we had thoughts like, man, what if this doesn't work?
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: What if nobody buys anything?
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: And it's never easy to overcome that kind of uncertainty, but choosing to make the leap and launch the merch store was one of the best decisions MHH has made.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_02]: And when we were launching the MHH merch store Shopify,
- 31:24[SPEAKER_02]: Help us ease so many of those concerns with its expertise, helpful tools, and easy to use platform.

- 32:49[SPEAKER_02]: All right, back to the chat here.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: Let me see here.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: Let me see what we got.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we got an opportunity here, Ron, to kind of segue a little bit.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see what our boy Glenn from Down Under in Melbourne has to say.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_02]: He says, I agree with you, Chad, and Ron.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_02]: The only move I questioned from the Broncos was not signing Tyler Algear.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_02]: They obviously prefer to go to the draft than have him compliment Dobbins and Harvey.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think it would cost for Cam Jordan?
- 33:16[SPEAKER_02]: I would give him a two-year deal.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_02]: I also want to see his draft one of the special, specialist, run stuffing nose tackles.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_02]: Titan is our weakest room by far.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_02]: The draft really has great options that fit the system.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: I also think he says that a number of recign players
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: may not make the 53 hashtag state of being orange and blue view.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of those lower level million dollar vet minimum type deals like I mentioned Jalil and all the tenders with the exception of Devon Key.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_02]: They're at risk.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: They're at risk.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: They got a sing for their supper, but what are your thoughts on the Broncos Ron with, hey, you let John Franklin Myers go.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_02]: He went and signed that bigger deal with Tennessee.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_02]: He's making that money good for him.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_02]: He got the bag.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_02]: But as it stands right now, if they had to go to war tomorrow, they're betting on Ioma, it was a reke kind of being their first and second down guy rotating in, saving on Jones who they drafted in the third round last year to kind of be the interior past Russia and hope that Jones ostensibly anyway to bellaops from here relatively quickly.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_02]: Is that enough for you or do you think they should go after a guy like Cam Jordan who's proven he's 36, but he really wants to keep playing.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Glenn, thank you for coming in.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_04]: We appreciate it.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_04]: And I do think they should go after someone like a cam Jordan or even like a Kaleas Campbell.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_04]: I do think one of them would definitely help kind of come in.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_04]: Be that veteran guy on defensive line at three technique.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_04]: And because I just don't know, at least from a saving on Jones perspective, how they feel about that now, we did see when you was a retake came in.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_04]: He was good.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_04]: He was good.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, I like Roach coming and playing that as well, but I do think kind of adding to the depth would be good for this team as far as cost.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_04]: Hmm.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think a two year deal.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_04]: Hmm, I don't know.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_04]: Six, eight million or something a year, probably I'm thinking.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_04]: uh... would probably do it and i think if it's one person uh... you know definitely show on patent can persuade him to to join the team but yet i i like that i like that for shortland him coming in
- 35:28[SPEAKER_02]: So first of all, our guy here is not about to go hungry.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_02]: He's made almost $150 million in the league.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_02]: All of that, of course, being with New Orleans where he's played his entire career, Sean Peyton drafted him.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was 2011.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_02]: But his average per year as an NFL player has been just, we'll just call it 10 million bucks.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_02]: All right, 9.8 million per year is kind of been his career average per year.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: However, at 36 years old,
- 35:55[SPEAKER_02]: He's at a point where what's the priority here, Kim?
- 35:58[SPEAKER_02]: Are you trying to make as much money as you possibly can with what remains of your playing career or coming in there after that 2009?
- 36:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure he was a 2011 pick if I'm not mistaken.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, 20 lucky.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_02]: So having missed that Super Bowl window, right?
- 36:14[SPEAKER_02]: They won, but they wanted all Peyton Drew Breeze.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_02]: That was the 2019 that beat Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_02]: So he kind of missed that window.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_02]: They were competitive and they were right in the mix for NFC Super Bowl births a lot of those years that he was there with Sean Peyton.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_02]: But what's the most important thing right now, Ken?
- 36:33[SPEAKER_02]: is it making as much money as you possibly can, or is it trying to get that ring?
- 36:37[SPEAKER_02]: Because that's the only thing missing.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this guy's got the accolades for his career on.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_02]: He's got all the money you can see that he's made, but the missing thing is the ring.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_02]: And he would get a chance.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_02]: He'd get a damn good chance.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_02]: And in a comfortable familiar place, in the sense that it would be with Sean Peyton and Denver.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 36:55[SPEAKER_02]: I think you'd have to bottom line get to the bottom of that, figure out what's really driving him at this stage, but a two-year deal that basically is front loaded, everything's in that first year.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos right now, Ron, have about 20 million in cap space, they got to save some are between.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, we'll call it four and eight million depends on who you ask, but between four and eight million to sign their draft class, they still have a little, a little breathing room there, Ron, if they wanted to go out and bring in a proven guy to plug in their opposite of Zach Allen, and you've got that interior defensive line once again, like a full-on strength.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_04]: Very points.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_04]: Um, so yeah, just come to depend on you what what he's looking for and again, he's looking for
- 37:41[SPEAKER_04]: And why not come and play for your old coach and on a contending team and, you know, you're not going to be, you know, ask us again.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_04]: They're going to heavily rotate it and obviously you'll come in and play significant snaps.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_04]: But I do think he can come in and provide some valuable snaps on the defensive line.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm all for Glenn all for it.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_02]: Speaking of saints, Ira wants to know, and in fact, I think this was a question, Ira asked last time I was on the mic Thursday night from Facebook.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_02]: Hey guys, so do you think there's really no truth to the rumors of us getting Alvin Kamera or that Saints deal?
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: We just talked about Cam Jordan there.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, and Orange Crush.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_02]: So, Ron, we've addressed Cam Jordan, the possibility there.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_02]: Alvin Camara 32 year old, you know, two years ago and he was in the rumor mill right before the 2024 trade deadline.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_02]: He looked very attractive.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_02]: How do you feel about him now?
- 38:44[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_04]: I just, I just feel as though.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he's still a good player.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_04]: I just don't think, you know, at this point of his career, he can really, um, I would want to look elsewhere, Chad, if I were frankly, you know, being honest.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_04]: Now, if the Broncos were to, you know, get them, I'd be okay with it, because again, it does round out that running back room, and if the offense does get, you know, get hurt, he can step right in with no problem.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_04]: Um, but, you know, I just think at his age, and then it's also going to pin on what he's asking for to, you know, after the Saints do cut him.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_04]: Um, can't be asking for too much.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_04]: I wouldn't say it's similar to Cam Jordan probably a little bit more, but, um, can't be asking for too much on that deal, but, you know,
- 39:43[SPEAKER_02]: this one's tough for me.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_02]: I got to be honest because on one hand, you know, two years ago, I was all about the possibility when he was in the rumor mill and, you know, this predates our RJ Harvey, this predates JK Dobbins.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_02]: So a lot's changed for the Broncos in the running back room, and you got to go a little way to second.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_02]: What do you do with RJ Harvey, if you bring in Alvin America, because that's basically what Sean Payton's trying to do is rebuild a new Alvin Camara in the mile high city with RJ Harvey.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's he still producing relatively well at his age.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: you don't need him.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, you don't.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's not that guy that's going to give you 1,000.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_02]: He's never rushed for 1,000.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_02]: You wouldn't necessarily need him for that, wrong?
- 40:24[SPEAKER_02]: Because you have JK Dobbs and you have RJ Harvey, but still I just think the cost to get him first of all he's still under contract.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_02]: They haven't cut him.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, I mean, if they cut him right now, you know, 24 million dead.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_02]: 24 million dead now if they do cut in there obviously do it as a as a post June 1st which would change it to 10 million dead they wouldn't save much so this would be for them right now in 2026 it would be a pretty stupid move to cut him the only way if you're New Orleans that it makes sense to move on from album america's remember ahead of that
- 41:00[SPEAKER_02]: when it was clear they weren't going to trade them.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_02]: They also extended them.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_02]: So that's where all those new money comes from.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think they they cut them and you know they could trade them.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_02]: But now the Broncos what's more important to you right now like what's more valuable I guess is a better way to put it.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_02]: Say your second and fourth round picks in this draft.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_02]: If you really want to go into the draft with a fifth rounder and three seventh that's all you got.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think so.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_02]: to join the Broncos, but Jordan, that's a different animal.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, you know, it's, again, if they kind of look back at it before maybe, but I just think given where the Broncos are now.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_04]: Um, and like I said, if they don't cut, I'm trying to trade for Alvin.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_04]: Come here.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_04]: You, you can miss me with that one.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_04]: And again, now, it's one of those things they cut them in, you know, you can maybe negotiate something on the lower end, you know, if he's interested, if the Broncos are, but yeah, at this point, I wouldn't want to trade for a comer.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_02]: Albert Noppers checking in aka the mile high Dutchy, a legendary member of our community, a dear friend, saying our strength and conditioning
- 42:09[SPEAKER_02]: a program will call it is probably the best in the NFL.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think Dobbins would have played all 17 plus games last season without that illegal hip drop tackle that actually against the Raiders Ron.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_02]: Let's remember, yes, he did ultimately get hurt, but it did come on an illegal tackle.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_02]: Although that player, I'm forgetting his name off top my head right now.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_02]: Never was penalized in game and he wasn't penalized by the league, so was it illegal, apparently?
- 42:35[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, by the letter the law,
- 42:37[SPEAKER_02]: it appeared to be a hip drop tackle, but the NFL certainly didn't lose any sleep over, but this Albert, you're hitting on something here that is actually very important for those who are maybe still scratching their heads at why did we bring back Dobbins?
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: And not only that, why did we give him a 4x raise, right?
- 42:55[SPEAKER_02]: Because he went for making 2 million bucks last year to make 8 million this season with the opportunity to make 10 if he hits 1200 rush yards.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_02]: And this is why they believe
- 43:05[SPEAKER_02]: that the worst is in his rear view and that the whole year in the system with the strength and player wellness program, Denver's like state-of-the-art focus and science behind all that with bow-lowery and Dan Dowell Rimple that it will ultimately be the difference maker for Dobbins finally staying on the field and they're putting around their money where their mouth is like they're showing you.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_02]: Here's how confident we are.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_04]: 8 million bucks.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I would thank you for coming in, and they have faith that, you know, doffets can stay healthy.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_04]: Now again, you know, we'll be for all 17 games, you know, maybe not, but can we get 14, can we get 15?
- 43:51[SPEAKER_04]: And can we get, you know, parents in the playoffs too?
- 43:55[SPEAKER_04]: You know, so they're really hoping that a lot of that comes to fruition.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_04]: So you see the faith that they have giving him the contract that they did.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_04]: We all hope and pray that he can stay healthy because again, when he's healthy.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_04]: I think there may be about.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_04]: four or five running backs in the lead that are better than him when he's healthy.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_04]: He has this great vision Chad great patience.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_04]: You saw him disfining the holes in those first 10 games and you just didn't see that with RJ Harvey.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_04]: So it would be nice if Dobbins can stay healthy and I think, you know, if he's healthy, this bruncle's rushing attack.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_04]: will be good.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, we can see that hopefully if they make the playoffs, when they make the playoffs.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, George Peyton said at the combine, look, JK Dobbins was a big hit around here, quote unquote, a big hit.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_02]: And by that, they're not just talking about what he did on the field, but
- 45:02[SPEAKER_02]: confidence that they had in all those one score games to prevail, which remember, I think they won one one score game in 2024.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_02]: This that first year they made the playoffs with both.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_02]: And I think a big part of that, they believe came from some of that swagger that and leadership, the JK Dobbins brought to the table.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's like when when Peyton would get asked about JK last summer, before we even really got to see him on the field carrying the load as RB1,
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: He kept going back to that Demario Davis when the Saints first got him who's a linebacker is like, look, I knew we were getting a very good competent linebacker.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know we were signing or drafting.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to remember how they acquired Davis.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_02]: Either way, a team captain kind of guy.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what J.K. brings to the table.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_02]: And when they signed him, J.K. Dobbins had the second highest career rushing yards per carry average amongst all NFL running backs since 2020.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I think he's third,
- 45:58[SPEAKER_02]: When he's on the field, basically he gives you top three rushing efficiency.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_02]: The question once again is that caveat, you hate to have to hang your hat on it when he's on the field.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_02]: But we'll see.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'm I'm very excited about it.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_02]: I'm confident in it.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_02]: I love how much he wants to be a Bronco run like to me.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_02]: That's really important.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_02]: And speaking of running, Todd's bringing up the old days, man.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_02]: What I remember most he says,
- 46:20[SPEAKER_02]: about Mike Shanahan's run game is other teams could stack the box and the Broncos would still run it right down their throats.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and it wasn't so much running it down their throats like in the power sense, but just couldn't stop it.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we had guys playing guard that were like 265, 275 pounds.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like the Ben Hamilton's back in the day and even at center, right?
- 46:45[SPEAKER_02]: Tommy, like Tommy Nailin, he was light for his center, and he should be in the freaking Hall of Fame, like he's the guy right now that really gets my goat.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_02]: For all those years, it was Randy Grattishar.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_02]: Now for me, it's Tom Nailin, get him in the Hall of Fame, but those were the days, dude.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_02]: All the, I mean, didn't matter who was back there.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_02]: Shanahan would get a thousand yard season out of him, like it was absolutely unreal.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_02]: You have a favorite running back from that era from, let's call it the post TD Shanahan running back
- 47:15[SPEAKER_04]: No, I was going to, I was going to say to you, I mean, you got, you got Clint portus Mike Anderson.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_02]: Mike Anderson.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_02]: Clint Millburn, who my miss an, uh, olandus Gary, breaking root and drones through the Broncos signed as a fullback and cranked out 1200 yards.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_02]: So some of the names.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_04]: I would say, yeah, Clint and portus would probably be up there for me.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_04]: And again, I think.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_04]: Outside of TD, I think the important is was the one that really, you know, help with that running game, but, you know, I was watching some of those old highlights of the shanny offense and just how the offensive line, they just manhandle like the TD was just going and going and the defense just couldn't do anything about it.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_04]: I'm gaming and game out, but yeah, I'm tired those those old shanny years.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_04]: They were a thing of beauty, they were a thing of beauty.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_04]: So you would hope that we can get back to that, you know, Peyton's more of a past, first guy, so it was a little hard, but yeah, man, those old shenanigans were magical.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_04]: They're magical in the run game.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_02]: Phil jumping in again to say we saw we re-sign traveling to a ridiculous deal in my opinion, but if Eli stowers is available 64 240 22 years old, you'd be a great pick for me.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think you could become a great tight end your thoughts.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I like him.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_02]: I do.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_02]: I think you'd be, you know, the Broncos are at a stage where Lucas Crowell ain't it, Nate Adkins is very limited in what he can bring to the table, although
- 48:53[SPEAKER_02]: You know, blocking tight end like him that is kind of come up in this team culture.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_02]: That's not nothing.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_02]: There's a reason they brought him back, but Adam Troutman is the guy, you got a really trying to find that upgrade for.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure Stowers is going to be that blocker ultimately in the NFL, but you could work with him.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_02]: You could try and get him to that point because David and Joku, who is still out there.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_02]: When he first came to league as a late first round pick from from the Browns back in 2017,
- 49:23[SPEAKER_02]: but they developed him, he worked on it, he prioritized it in his game as a pro.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_02]: And now he's very good as an inline blocker, but that's what they need.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_02]: They have a good move tied in, a good big slot guy and Evan Ingram run.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_02]: What they need is a guy who when he's on the field in line as the wide guy, he's as good blocking as he is, you know, running around, catching the ball.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, and that's...
- 49:46[SPEAKER_04]: That's where, and Phil, I mean, Star Wars is great.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_04]: It's just really depends on what the Broncos are looking for in their next item.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_04]: You know, if they're wanting, you know, a future of an England replacement, this is your guy right here in Star Wars.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, if you're looking for that all around, tied in, that inline why can't be dominant in blocking, or at least serviceable in the blocking game.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_04]: That's where the name you mentioned earlier, Oscar Delp makes more sense.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I know what Titans coming up college, you didn't work with them.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_04]: You know, from a blocking perspective.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_04]: Um, so that might be something where they may see some flashes on tape and like yeah, you can catch a ball blocking.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_04]: He's a willing participant in blocking game although his technique isn't the best.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_04]: So you may see teams look at it from that perspective and and go get their guy, but I just
- 50:51[SPEAKER_04]: Um, and Nate, oh, I came up with analysis last and one out of Texas, and yeah, that dude can block you can block.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_04]: So that those would be the names Phil that I would want the Broncos to target because that's kind of the overall.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, someone mentions.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_04]: I think Glenn mentions Eli Raider and I know today.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_04]: He's another good one.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_02]: uh... we got us at way in on an issue lighting up the chat here uh... string guy chat needs to break this cornbread versus grilled sourdough argument so first of all i'm not the guy to ask i'm not a big bread guy for what it's worth like i'm the guy that goes to the state house and doesn't touch the rolls or whatever right like i'm just not huge on bread
- 51:42[SPEAKER_02]: However, I will say this.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_02]: I used to think that cornbread was kind of like, eh, but over the last like six months, my wife has been making cornbread that is just phenomenal like jalapeno cornbread and it's just killed it.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_02]: So sourdough, though, I'm also a fan.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's just Ron.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not gonna.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not a big expert on either of these.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's not a big part of my culinary thing.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have a preference for these two cornbread?
- 52:11[SPEAKER_04]: cornbread.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't really eat a lot of bread nowadays.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_04]: Um, like the bread rice pasta, I'm really not trying to, um, since nowadays, but you have growing up, you know, my grandmother used to make cornbread regularly.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_04]: And that would just be my go to.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_04]: Um, and I used to put syrup cornbread with syrup.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_04]: The sourdough is okay.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you know, back now, you used to eat some sourdough, but it was always, it was always
- 52:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, good stuff.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I especially homemade fresh, cornbread, I mean, any kind of bread, homemade fresh out of the oven's always going to be superior to the alternative, but cornbread especially fresh out of the oven.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my goodness, it is pretty dang good.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_02]: But good stuff, guys, Phil says, again, I thought it was cool that Botanix took Jalen Waddle to dinner his first night in town.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was something that
- 53:06[SPEAKER_02]: the Denver Post Parker Gabriel reported that they went to dinner that night so that's really cool you love to see it and I really don't think it's going to take too long for Jalen Wattl to fit into this.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_02]: locker room and and what the Broncos got cooking because you go back and you listen to what he said during his introductory press conference and I could read a few things here but everything was deflect away from me it's about the team it's about winning deflect away from me like even when they really try to tie him down like what are your attributes he's like look I just I'm another playmaker to the team so I'm going to try and help out
- 53:41[SPEAKER_02]: and try to make plays to the best of my ability.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_02]: He's not saying, yeah, man.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm dominant.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_02]: When I do this, I'm great at that.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_02]: I'm fast as hell.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, no, I'm helping the team.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm stoked on that.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_02]: He said also when he was asked, you know, basically, hey, Jalen, you know, do you think this means you're being viewed as the number one now in Denver?
- 54:03[SPEAKER_02]: And he said, quote,
- 54:06[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone's here to make plays and try to win.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's ultimately the goal for the team and for the organization.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_02]: And then, of course, he finished that particular sentence with, and I still stand on what I said about Pat, which was, I would beat his ass, and if I, you know, joke, and because it's like either way you would rise your brother.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_02]: I will put you, you know, whatever.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, I'm stoked on while I can't wait for what he brings to the table.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_04]: And yes, I am very excited looking forward to the water addition and how he can change the complexion of his offense.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_04]: And one of the things Chad and when he did his phone conference, how he mentioned, how he called up every single receiver's name.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I thought that was that was very telling.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_04]: Um, so he broke down every ever receiver and yeah, he's saying he's here to win games.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_04]: There is a number one.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not, you know, I'm not the guy you come to see.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_04]: It's, you know, the Broncos as a team and every player will have their part and helping this team win.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_04]: So love, I love him.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_04]: Love is added to obviously I love his skill set and it's just
- 55:20[SPEAKER_02]: cornbread dude it looks like you win in the chat cornbread I think for the most part is wherever one's leaning by the way thanks for that second super chat and Ron I'm glad you brought up that point about how Jalen Waterle made sure to mention.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_02]: literally every guy on the roster at wide receiver.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_02]: I guess, you know, if you want to count practice why guys like Michael Bandy, he didn't get mentioned or whatever, but he even mentioned a little Jordan Humphrey by name and that just to show you like, that's a leadership thing, like that's a,
- 55:51[SPEAKER_02]: a guy who's smart, a guy who knows the situation, he's being a little bit of a politician in the, in the best sense where he's making sure those guys know he sees them, he respects them, etc.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's just a guy that's operating on a little bit higher level and it's certainly wrong, not kind of thing.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_02]: You would expect to hear from a guy who was doing his introductory press conference as a virtual presser was there for his first day and he could name everyone at his position, group's first name.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and just to show you how big of a deal this is.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_04]: I think this is the first presser wine over actually that Sean Peyton has allowed since he's been here right with like an outside move.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_04]: I believe.
- 56:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so that just goes to show you how, you know, they feel about him, but yeah, I just I just love and Glenn go to kind of pitching what I was about to say here that his character, his fit, you know, how he compliments.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_04]: You know, all these other receivers and again Chad, you have to think about just how this team from a receiver perspective is constructed, you know, everyone now kind of goes to their, you know, quote unquote natural positioning their natural slot, you know, you're one to water Sutton and then your other guys and it's just going to be everyone else compete.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_04]: And again, that's why we say Franklin your your own notice.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_04]: It could be one of those things where, you know, there could be trade talks heating up, you know, something that they are, but could be rumors and going on to say, hey, Franklin might be traded here pretty soon.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_04]: So we'll see.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_02]: Wouldn't would not completely shock me if he was a draft day trade somewhere because the Broncos were looking for an extra pick or two something like that.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see Glenn wait wait to weigh in big dog.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_02]: Last one from here from Phil here we're out of time so we got a rapid fire which contracts are you going to extend?
- 57:51[SPEAKER_02]: Riley Moss Marvin Mims, Jekwann Macmillan, Brandon Jones, good point that all four in a contract year.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_02]: If you had to let's say Ron prioritize
- 58:00[SPEAKER_02]: Well, how are you prioritizing those four names and we're almost out of time?
- 58:04[SPEAKER_04]: I'm doing MIMS and McMillan.
- 58:07[SPEAKER_04]: Those would be the two I target first.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_04]: Come back to the table with Jones to see, I do think safety is gonna be a pick maybe later on in the draft.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, MIMS, McMillan, Brandon Jones, and then Moss.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_04]: And honestly, Phil, I wouldn't be surprised if Moss is treated here soon.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_02]: And just for what, for what it's worth, it wouldn't surprise me if Mims make mail make mail and I think they're just going to wait and see just because
- 58:41[SPEAKER_02]: He's a former college free agent guy.
- 58:44[SPEAKER_02]: He got a nice little race.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_02]: He's happy for now.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think that if he gets an extension, it's going to be one of those like at the buy extensions where he proved it yet again.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_02]: Like that first half of the season, he's balling out again.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_02]: He's got his hands on takeaways again.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think the guys you could see get new money before the regular season because George Peyton likes to do that, Ron, in July, right?
- 59:05[SPEAKER_02]: Is Mims?
- 59:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I know it's not a popular one, but Riley Moss guys, he they love him in Denver.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_02]: So, but maybe they can't afford to keep him.
