- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Now I feel as creative entrepreneurs, which we all are, we need to be aware of what is going on in our own economy so that we can adapt and shift even if it feels really uncomfortable.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: And so in this episode, I want to share three ways in which we can create true abundance in our businesses during these really challenging times.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Now, one thing I learned during the pandemic is that in order to grow and sustain a successful business long term, we need to be open to change and doing things differently.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: And we are in a time where everything is changing, changing daily.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Sometimes, as I said, our hands are forced and we need to be able to respond to these changes and be agile, otherwise, we can become stuck and fearful, which just doesn't serve us.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Now, I know the term recession can put a lot of fear into people's minds.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: I've had lots of conversations of late talking to other entrepreneurs who are nervous about what is going on in the economy and what that's going to mean for their business.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: And right now it does feel like everything is just doom and gloom.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: But in reality, a recession can simply be an opportunity.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: So if you are feeling apprehensive about what is to come over the next year or the next few years, then I want you to just try and reframe your thoughts and to just step into the possibility that anything can happen, and that the next couple of years could be a time for personal growth and expansion, and that could be in your business as well.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: We are all being tested in one way or another, but there's no doubt about it, we can all come through this a lot stronger with thriving businesses.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: So, how do we put this into practice?
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: How do we create true and lasting abundance in our business that's going to see us through these tough times?
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: So I thought in this episode I would share with you three simple strategies that will absolutely make a difference.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Okay, so my first strategy is the mindset.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: Now I know I've spoken about this quite a lot in previous episodes, but I really do believe that it is your mindset that is what makes a difference.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: You need to get your mind in the right place, which I know sounds simple, but for some, this can be really challenging.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: There's no doubt about it, your thoughts will directly impact your reality.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: So if you're always thinking the worst, then that's what you're going to attract.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Now I'm a great believer in the law of attraction.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: In fact, I believe that I'm here today doing what I love because of the law of attraction and how it works.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: And for those of you who don't know about the law of attraction, all it is is a spiritual belief that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into your life.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: It's belief that we manifest what we want and that we manifest every aspect of our lives.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: So we are creating our own reality by the thoughts that we have, which when you think of that and you put that in context, it's massive.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: We can literally control how our lives are simply through the power of thought.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: Now, the belief is that we can have whatever we desire as long as we focus on having positive thoughts, feelings, and actions.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: Now, on the flip side, you can also attract negative outcomes if you are constantly focusing on negative thoughts and bad outcomes, which is why our mindset is so incredibly important.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: If you are sitting in a space of fear and scarcity, then that's what you're going to attract.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: However, if you look upon everything with a positive outlook, then that is what is going to be reflected back at you.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: So if you are feeling as though over the next couple of years, the only thing you're going to experience is a lack of business or a lack of money, then of course that's what you're going to experience because that's what you're putting out.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: But if you reframe your thoughts and look upon where you are as an opportunity for growth, then that's what you're going to experience.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: Now, for me, looking back over my own personal journey, I believe, without a shadow of a doubt, that I'm here today because of what I manifested for myself.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: Now, I didn't really know that I was doing it because I've always been really positive and I've always planned out what I've wanted.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: So I've always tried to have a vision that I'm working towards.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: But I didn't realise that I was putting things in place for my future.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: I only discovered the law of attraction very early on in my business when I was just chatting to a group of business friends.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: Because before then I had very little knowledge of what it was.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: I was doing it, I was manifesting what it was I wanted, but I didn't realise I was doing it because things were just happening, I thought, organically.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: It wasn't until I really looked into what this was about that I realised the power that I was wielding in achieving the things that I wanted to achieve.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: I've always had a positive outlook on life and I've always been a glass half-full kind of gal, but I must admit there have been times when my positive disposition has been challenged through turbulent times, and it's only when I look back and I see how opportunities came to me at a time when I was most open to them.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: And I believe I manifested my way here, and my mindset has played an instrumental part in it.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: Now, very recently, I made quite a big decision to change something in my business because I decided that I wanted to streamline part of my business, and I was looking for a specific opportunity to help me.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: As recently I've been feeling a little bit kind of pulled in different directions.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: Now I have a young family and I have limited time, and so I made the decision that I was going to just shift how I was doing something.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: Now, the first thing I did with this was get really laser-clear at exactly what I wanted.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: Now, once I had a clear vision in my mind of what that was, I then started to feel my way into what I was asking for, and by doing this, I was sending a very clear message out to the universe about what I wanted.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: Now, by using feeling, I was able to feel really positive about the thing that I was asking for and what it was going to give me once I'd received it.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: Now, this is so incredibly powerful because what it does, it raises vibrational energy and it makes us feel great, which elevates our positivity, and this is the energy that we then distribute out into the universe to attract what we want.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: And the most wonderful thing happened to me last week.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: The thing that I wanted came to me.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: The change that I wanted to create for myself and my business happened because I'd manifested it.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: Now I know this can sound really woo-woo, and I'm not a highly spiritual person, but I am very intuitive.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: So the point of me sharing this is that whether you realize it or not, your thoughts are energy, and how you think will directly impact the success you receive.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: And so I encourage you to check in with your thoughts, and that if you find yourselves having negative thoughts, that you need to try and reframe them.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Try and turn your negative thoughts into positive ones.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Get clear on exactly what you want and why you want it, and use feeling, feel into what you want.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: Think about what life will be like once you have it or have achieved the thing that you want to have achieved.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: You're then going to release those feelings of excitement and positivity out into the universe, and then once that's done, it's a done deal.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: Believe that what you desire is going to be yours to have.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: Trust me when I say this really does work.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: Your mind is your secret weapon because it's the thing that's going to bring you exactly what you want, but you just need to believe in it and have faith.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: Okay, so my second strategy is about being flexible.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: So experiencing fluctuations in business is nothing new, it's part and parcel of being in business.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: There are good times and there are tough times, and it's just part of this crazy journey that we're on.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: Now, in order to successfully navigate through the changing conditions that we're experiencing, we need to be flexible and adaptable, and we need to learn to think outside the box.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: Being flexible starts with being open-minded, it's about being flexible and willing enough to try new things and not being stuck in the way that you're doing things at the moment.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: Because the truth is, what worked for you yesterday, what worked for you today may not work for you tomorrow because we're in such changeable times.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: Now, when I launched my branding studio back in 2017, I didn't really know at the time what it was I was creating.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: That's the truth.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: All I knew was that I wanted to help clients in a specific area.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: I knew I didn't want to create an agency model because there are so many agencies out there, the market is actually really quite saturated, and there are some brilliant agencies that can do fantastic work, and I didn't want to be a commodity competing with similar businesses.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: I wanted to create a lane of my own, but I just didn't know what that looked like, so I kind of fell into this agency way of doing stuff.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: Now I had a passion for branding because I had a strong belief that branding is what underpins a business's success.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: It isn't just about the identity of a brand, but it's about the strategy that sits underneath it as well.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: And that was what I felt really excited about.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: And so, as such, I wanted to support clients in this area, but I didn't particularly choose to create an agency, it just sort of happened.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: So, looking back, I don't believe I was fully in control of those decisions that I was making because I was lucky enough that I got busy very quickly, and that took my focus.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: Now, when lockdown happened, it gave me the opportunity to rethink where my business was and where it was heading, and I realized that I was being taken down a path that I didn't actually want to go down.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: I was responding to clients' needs as opposed to being in the drive-in seat of my business, and as a result, I was really busy, which at that time I equated to success.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: I had a full quota of clients and I was, you know, financially doing well.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: But what I realized was that I'd stopped following the vision that I'd had for my business when I first created it because I was too busy.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: Then, of course, the pandemic hit, and my clients stopped their marketing because they were thinking about ways to save money because they were in this unknown time, and so some of the projects that I had lined up went on hold.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: And I think when we're working in the realm of marketing or creative services, it's the first thing that goes on hold.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: So, of course, this affected my business, and of course, at the time, it felt as though it was the worst thing in the world because everything that I'd been working so hard to achieve was suddenly being affected.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: However, looking back, I believe it was a blessing in disguise because it gave me time to re-evaluate my business, and I realized that the business that I had wasn't really the business that I wanted because I'd fallen in the trap of just being so responsive as opposed to being in the driver's seat.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: The reality was I was building a business on Quicksand.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: I was fine as long as I had a stream of clients coming through the door, but the moment that stopped, everything else stopped.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: Which is when I realized that I needed to be more flexible and adapt to the changing times.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: I decided to focus my energies on creating digital products and selling my online course, which fortunately I had managed to create before the pandemic hit.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: And I realized that in order to achieve long-term and sustainable success, I needed to be thinking about putting my proverbial eggs in multiple baskets, not just one basket, which is why I decided to step into the world of online courses.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: Creating my own course had provided me with a great sense of accomplishment, and I wanted to make this accessible to other entrepreneurs, and by doing so, it opened up new opportunities that would then support the growth of my business.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: I think by adopting an open mindset, it led me to explore a brand new avenue that completely changed my business, but one that was never on the table that I never anticipated being involved in.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: So it's not only shifted how I see business in general, it's also opened up brand new opportunities for me, and because of that shift that I made during that challenging time, I'm here today sharing this episode with you.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: And I never thought I would be creating a podcast, but it just so happened that one thing led to another, and that's why I'm here today.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: So, you see, being flexible and being open to new opportunities and new ways of doing things will only stand you in good stead going forward, and it might take your business to a place that you never anticipated.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: Now, the world is going through a shift, nothing is quite the same at the moment, not like it once was.
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: So, if ever there was a time to try new things and explore new avenues, then the time is now because you never know what might happen.
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: And personally, I think that's what makes the journey exciting.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: Okay, so my third and final strategy is all about creating new offers that serve more people.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: So the previous two strategies are all related to your mindset, so it's getting your mindset in order and then being flexible and adaptable to making changes.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: So this final strategy is all about the doing, and the one way you can create abundance in your business is through your offer pipeline.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: So whether you're a service provider providing one-to-one services to clients or you're a product creator selling online products, the offers that you have available in your business are going to be what brings new customers through the door.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: Now we live in a world where there is so much competition out there, and so we need to be creating offers that are compelling enough to entice new customers to come on board and yet build ongoing loyalty with the customers that we already have.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: As a service provider, it can be very tempting just to stick with one type of offer that keeps you working directly with customers.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: But the problem with this is that at times of uncertainty or instability, when people are batting down the hatches, you could see a downturn in your sales because people are most likely going to be cautious about where they're spending their money.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: If you only have one offer on the table, then you could be exposing yourself and your business to unnecessary vulnerabilities.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: So, how do we mitigate this?
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: How do we prevent this from happening?
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: And the answer is by simply creating new offers that reach more people.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: And yes, I am talking about creating digital products.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: Now, if you're the kind of person that is resisting the online space because perhaps you don't feel comfortable in moving online, then you could be missing out because the online space is booming.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: Trends have changed, people are buying online courses because they have a need for them.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: During economic downturns, the demand for online learning significantly increases.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: Now, the online course industry grew exponentially during the pandemic, and because of that, the world of online learning has changed.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: It's meant that really great quality teaching has become more accessible and more affordable.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: And gone are the days where people have had to trek into adult education centres after a day at work because they want to upskill.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: Now they can buy courses online and work through them in the comfort of their own home, at their own pace, and in their own time.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: It means that people can learn what they need to learn so they can either find a better, more well-paid job or use a time of instability to maybe shift their focus so that they can change career paths, which opens up an incredible opportunity for creative entrepreneurs who want to teach people what they know and support others in their growth whilst at making money for their efforts?
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: Now I think the pandemic proved that through times of hardship, new opportunities appear, new businesses were formed and changes were made.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: I mean, how many of you never thought that you would deliver your services online?
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: How many of you actually did, and what did that bring?
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: Continued service, brand new customers, more money, and more opportunities.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: And who would have thought that to be possible?
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: So, one of my clients is an energy healer, and she's absolutely amazing at what she does, but she is also very fearful of tech.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: Now, before the pandemic, she ran a clinic where she would see her clients in person, and that was the basis of her business.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: So during the pandemic, when her business literally stopped overnight because she could no longer see her clients at the clinic, she found herself dealing with a very different reality that she never thought would be possible.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: And of course, it caused her a great deal of stress and anxiety because not only was she not making money to pay herself, but she wasn't making any money to cover the costs of her clinic and her business.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: Now, reluctantly, she decided to try and deliver her services online because during that period she had no other option.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: She had no idea how it was going to work out, but she adopted a flexible mindset where she decided to give it a go.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: Now, her work is all about energy, so one of the challenges that she faced was trying to work out how she could translate her work over the web.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: She had no idea if it was going to work or not, but she took a leap of faith and she did it.
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: And because she took that leap of faith, she was able to successfully grow her business online at a time when the world stopped moving.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: Now, how incredible is that?
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: The pandemic, I think, did her a favor because it forced her to look at her business differently and it opened her up to change.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: She would never have done that had the pandemic not happened, and because she embraced that change, she was rewarded in so many ways.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: Now, today she still works in the online space and she's doing amazingly.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: She no longer has her clinic, and she realized that she really didn't need it.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: She didn't need to see people in person, and she certainly did not need the hassle of having to pay for that clinic.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: She could do her work online and she could serve more people by working online because she wasn't restricted to the local area, and so because of that, she was able to enjoy more freedom in her business simply because she no longer had the expenses that came with having to pay for her premises.
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: Now, my client also launched brand new offers, which included programs and courses, and she found because of the way she then developed her business, she was able to show up and serve more people, which then grew her own business.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: So, you see, just because we may be going through a period of change and instability, it doesn't mean that our businesses need to stop moving forward.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: If anything, it's a time to reflect, recalibrate, and realign ourselves to what actually matters, and then focus our energy on not only creating offers that support our customers but also offers that brings us joy as well.
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: Yes, we are going through a difficult period, and yes, the future does seem uncertain, but by adopting an open mindset, being flexible with how we run our businesses and what we offer, and then looking at new opportunities in new spaces, that's what's going to bring us abundance in our business, and that's what's going to keep us thriving for a long time to come.
