- 0:01Speaker 1: Wave. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the right time. A
- 0:11Speaker 1: wave original. My name is Beaumont Jones. Thanks for listening.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Wherever you get your podcast. Thanks for watching us on YouTube. Subscribe,
- 0:19Speaker 1: like rate us, review us, give us five stars. You
- 0:21Speaker 1: only give us four stars. I'm inclined to believe you
- 0:24Speaker 1: are a hater. Uh, obviously we got a lot of
- 0:27Speaker 1: NBA finals talk. We've got the world cup.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Um, I got to say.
- 0:32Speaker 1: My thought was if San Antonio went to Madison Square
- 0:35Speaker 1: Garden down 0-2, it would be a sweep. I would
- 0:38Speaker 1: just like to point out that, granted, it was a
- 0:41Speaker 1: 2-3-2 format, but the Phoenix Suns in 1993 were in
- 0:45Speaker 1: a very similar situation. They actually managed to win two
- 0:47Speaker 1: out of three at Chicago Stadium, and were right there
- 0:50Speaker 1: in it with a chance to win the championship that
- 0:52Speaker 1: year before the John Paxton shot to win the championship there.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Which is to say, on one hand, this series is
- 1:01Speaker 1: not over. On the other hand, fuck out of here.
- 1:04Speaker 1: What am I talking about? It feels pretty over from here. Now,
- 1:11Speaker 1: we did something that I don't necessarily know if it
- 1:13Speaker 1: was great for business, but oh well, we just didn't
- 1:15Speaker 1: feel like working on no Saturday. But we did not
- 1:17Speaker 1: come in with the immediate reaction to the end of
- 1:21Speaker 1: game two. And I don't really know how it would
- 1:23Speaker 1: have gone over if I had jumped in on the
- 1:26Speaker 1: immediate reaction because what I found fascinating about the immediate
- 1:30Speaker 1: reaction was to game two was simply everything that happened
- 1:37Speaker 1: was like a response to some shit that somebody else
- 1:40Speaker 1: has said before that really might not have been particularly
- 1:45Speaker 1: relevant to what is going on at this given moment
- 1:48Speaker 1: in time that appears because we have what the internet
- 1:52Speaker 1: has given us is an uncommon like Rolling tally on
- 1:58Speaker 1: everything everybody has ever said before in their lives.
- 2:03Speaker 2: You know what the internet is like? It's like a PC. Ryan,
- 2:07Speaker 2: are you a PC user?
- 2:11Speaker 3: I am not a PC user.
- 2:12Speaker 2: All right, I'm going to be honest with you.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I voluntarily laid my hands on no PC in 20 years.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I've had to use them for work occasionally,
- 2:23Speaker 3: but not if I haven't had to.
- 2:24Speaker 2: It's come up.
- 2:25Speaker 1: They used to have a PC in here for me
- 2:27Speaker 1: for work, and I was like, damn, I forgot how
- 2:30Speaker 1: you did that. Like, it's kind of like how it
- 2:32Speaker 1: was one year at Christmas when our microwave broke. It was,
- 2:36Speaker 1: I forget when it was, but I am of that
- 2:38Speaker 1: age where I looked at everybody like, so what are
- 2:41Speaker 1: we going to do now?
- 2:42Speaker 4: Right.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Like, how do you reheat food? I only know how
- 2:46Speaker 1: to do it through pressing buttons. It has never come
- 2:48Speaker 1: up in my life before.
- 2:50Speaker 3: It would take me an embarrassing amount of time to
- 2:53Speaker 3: figure out how to reheat food without a microwave.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Ah, no, you get to it now. Like I've learned.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I've rarely used my microwave for that fashion.
- 3:00Speaker 2: But anyway, I bring that up because of this.
- 3:03Speaker 1: What used to be the story with the PC may
- 3:05Speaker 1: not be the story with the PC right now.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 3:08Speaker 1: But you remember how long it used to take for
- 3:09Speaker 1: a PC to crank up every time you.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Used it as it went longer and longer?
- 3:14Speaker 1: The reason was that thing kept the running log of
- 3:17Speaker 1: every keystroke and everything that you had ever done. And
- 3:19Speaker 1: whenever you turned it on, it went back through all
- 3:22Speaker 1: of those things, right? The internet basically does that when
- 3:26Speaker 1: it comes to everything. We're just rolling through all these
- 3:28Speaker 1: tallies of everything that that anybody has ever said, and
- 3:31Speaker 1: you can't really take nothing on its face value right now.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Everything has to be some answer, some shit that some
- 3:37Speaker 1: hater said back in the past. Now, I want to
- 3:40Speaker 1: be very clear that I am not expressing my distaste
- 3:44Speaker 1: for this fact because I may be one of those
- 3:47Speaker 1: people that you're calling a hater from the past. The
- 3:49Speaker 1: reason I have no problem with that is I've been
- 3:51Speaker 1: done got out in front of my shit. I feel
- 3:53Speaker 1: like you deal with evidence as you have it, and
- 3:57Speaker 1: then you go from there. OK, and if things change,
- 4:00Speaker 1: things change. Don't be wedded to whatever it was that
- 4:03Speaker 1: you said before. However, be real about whatever it was
- 4:06Speaker 1: that was said before. Now, all of a sudden, it's
- 4:09Speaker 1: the most amazing thing in the world. Everybody got something
- 4:14Speaker 1: to say about what somebody else had to say about
- 4:18Speaker 1: Carl Anthony Towns. They were saying that he was soft. Now,
- 4:22Speaker 1: some of that stuff is a thing. Because, Ryan, I
- 4:24Speaker 1: wasn't saying that other stuff. You know what I'm saying?
- 4:28Speaker 3: There's a line you don't go to.
- 4:29Speaker 2: No, no, no, no.
- 4:30Speaker 1: When I said that he was an alleged sucker, I
- 4:33Speaker 1: wasn't talking about that.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I was talking about doing dumb shit and getting in
- 4:36Speaker 2: foul trouble.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Right?
- 4:38Speaker 1: Like, did not go in that direction. Now, some of y'all,
- 4:41Speaker 1: some of y'all do.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Have to answer that. Though I do have to.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Say, Carl has had one consistent voice from what I
- 4:47Speaker 1: could tell this postseason, and it has been one with
- 4:50Speaker 1: some base in it, and he sounds like a grown
- 4:52Speaker 1: man in these postgame interviews, and ride this one out, dog.
- 4:56Speaker 1: This has always been the one that works.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Right?
- 5:00Speaker 2: Now, maybe it's not who you are, but Try being this.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Like, it's going. It's rolling. Look, he's been the best
- 5:07Speaker 1: player on the team. I am actually a little blown
- 5:09Speaker 1: away by how many Knicks fans, because you're so wedded
- 5:11Speaker 1: to Jalen Brunson, just don't want to, like, be real
- 5:13Speaker 1: about this fact. He's been that guy. Jalen Brunson may
- 5:16Speaker 1: be the guy that gets the shots for you at
- 5:18Speaker 1: the end of the game, right? And he may be
- 5:20Speaker 1: the most important player for a number of reasons. But, yeah,
- 5:22Speaker 1: we're looking at Karl-Anthony Towns as Finals MVP. I know
- 5:27Speaker 1: I talked a lot about this in the last game,
- 5:29Speaker 1: but I think it's more fun to talk about how
- 5:31Speaker 1: well he's playing than try to say that somebody was
- 5:34Speaker 1: wrong about what they said before.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Correct.
- 5:36Speaker 4: Right.
- 5:37Speaker 2: I've seen the argument made.
- 5:39Speaker 1: It's going to be crazy if he wins the championship
- 5:41Speaker 1: before Jimmy Butler did. That was eight years ago.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Yeah. Buffalo has been on about three different teams since then.
- 5:48Speaker 1: He's been on three different teams since then. He's been
- 5:50Speaker 1: on two teams that went to the finals. Another one
- 5:51Speaker 1: that was basically a shot from getting to the finals. Um, Yes,
- 5:56Speaker 1: not going to lie. Good for Carl if he happens
- 5:58Speaker 1: to do that. It took eight years, or more like
- 6:02Speaker 1: seven and change. But you get my point. This doesn't
- 6:04Speaker 1: have to be about some shit somebody else said. You
- 6:06Speaker 1: remember when Coco Gauff won the U.S. Open and had
- 6:09Speaker 1: the whole dedication to the haters?
- 6:10Speaker 3: Yes.
- 6:11Speaker 1: And I did a year-in-review show with some young women
- 6:17Speaker 1: that year. I think they were in their 20s at
- 6:19Speaker 1: the time. And they all talked about how much they
- 6:21Speaker 1: loved that. And it made me sad. I was like, damn,
- 6:26Speaker 1: you just won the U.S.
- 6:27Speaker 4: Open.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Are you out here thinking about Johnny 3, 5, 2, 4, 6, 7,
- 6:30Speaker 1: 3 and one third on Twitter or whatever it was? Like,
- 6:34Speaker 1: is this what we're doing? No. So much analysis that
- 6:36Speaker 1: I've seen about this. And granted, I'm looking at it
- 6:39Speaker 1: on the Internet where people go to be miserable. But
- 6:41Speaker 1: it's wild how much of like what we have going
- 6:44Speaker 1: on right now standing on its own is so dope.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Or you could put it in terms that we usually
- 6:49Speaker 1: put it in with guys like this, which is Carl
- 6:50Speaker 1: Anthony Towns got better.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Right.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Which is the things that he was doing as recently
- 6:55Speaker 1: as two years ago in the playoffs. He's not doing anymore.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Last year, I will never forget Stan Van Gundy on
- 7:02Speaker 1: some late game possession while Carl was still playing good
- 7:05Speaker 1: was like, hey, man, I think you might want to
- 7:06Speaker 1: get this guy out of the game so he doesn't
- 7:07Speaker 1: commit a stupid foul. Because he did so much dumb stuff.
- 7:13Speaker 1: None of that is happening anymore.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Right?
- 7:15Speaker 1: Like, and to be fair to him, I think this
- 7:17Speaker 1: is a part that I probably didn't give him enough
- 7:19Speaker 1: credit for because he's been in the league now for
- 7:22Speaker 1: 11 years. I want to say he's just 30 or
- 7:26Speaker 1: something like that.
- 7:26Speaker 3: That's wild.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Yeah, like there's a process. Olajuwon did not really become
- 7:30Speaker 1: Olajuwon in that way until he was early 30s.
- 7:34Speaker 5: Right?
- 7:34Speaker 1: Like, maybe part of it is just because these guys
- 7:36Speaker 1: get in so young or whatever it is. But what
- 7:38Speaker 1: I think is the cool thing right now about the Knicks,
- 7:41Speaker 1: they are not the team that they were during the
- 7:42Speaker 1: regular season. During the regular season, man, the things that
- 7:45Speaker 1: people were saying but not out loud about what they
- 7:48Speaker 1: were going to have to do and the fingers pointing
- 7:49Speaker 1: at everybody else. Mikael Bridges looks like a completely different
- 7:52Speaker 1: player than he.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Did two months ago. Jalen Brunson is not playing well
- 7:57Speaker 2: and it doesn't.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Matter because everybody else has pulled up and now they
- 8:02Speaker 1: are up 2-0. Coming back home. What could mess this
- 8:08Speaker 1: up for them? How in the world could this not roll? Like,
- 8:11Speaker 1: this feels like it should be a sweep.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Right.
- 8:16Speaker 1: But... Bad vibes are on the way. Bad juju is coming.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Do we know where bad juju gonna be sitting? Is
- 8:27Speaker 1: he in a box or is he gonna be on
- 8:28Speaker 1: the floor?
- 8:29Speaker 3: I feel like he has to be in a box. Like.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I feel like I think the best argument for him
- 8:37Speaker 1: having to be on the box is that would be
- 8:39Speaker 1: taking money out of somebody's pocket.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Right.
- 8:42Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? But is it on the board? Oh, no,
- 8:45Speaker 2: he can't be there.
- 8:45Speaker 1: So Zoran said he bought his own ticket for a
- 8:50Speaker 1: game three. He said he bought his own seat, which
- 8:52Speaker 1: means Zoran.
- 8:54Speaker 2: On one level.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Oh, cool.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Zoran going to be all the way at the top.
- 8:56Speaker 2: On the other level, he's not that tall. He'll be perfect.
- 9:00Speaker 3: He'll be fine.
- 9:02Speaker 2: I don't even know if his feet gonna hit.
- 9:04Speaker 1: The ground, right? He'll be up there, right? But bad
- 9:10Speaker 1: vibes are on the way. They say you gotta get
- 9:13Speaker 1: to the arena two hours early. They not gonna have
- 9:16Speaker 1: to watch party outside. And I really feel bad for
- 9:20Speaker 1: those people who can't go to the watch party outside
- 9:23Speaker 1: because I've seen a lot of these right outside the
- 9:25Speaker 1: arena watch parties. I look at them and this is
- 9:28Speaker 1: going to be tough because now these cats might have
- 9:30Speaker 1: to go watch a game somewhere where there's some girls.
- 9:35Speaker 1: They nervous as hell right now. I've been waiting to
- 9:44Speaker 1: get that one off.
- 9:45Speaker 3: It really is just so many dudes. I mean, dude,
- 9:50Speaker 3: it's fair. They look like they're having a great time.
- 9:52Speaker 2: They do.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Especially in the post game. If they take the wide
- 9:55Speaker 3: shot before they like go in on the one guy. Yes.
- 9:58Speaker 3: All dudes.
- 9:59Speaker 2: All dudes. It's wall to wall dudes.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I'm trying to think what it would take or what
- 10:06Speaker 1: it would have to be to be more dudes.
- 10:08Speaker 2: And to be fair to them, it's not their fault
- 10:12Speaker 2: that it's all dudes.
- 10:13Speaker 6: Right. Right.
- 10:14Speaker 1: It's the women who look at that crowd and are like,
- 10:17Speaker 1: you want to go somewhere else?
- 10:19Speaker 3: Literally anywhere else.
- 10:20Speaker 6: Right.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Like, I don't think these guys would run away.
- 10:22Speaker 3: For so many reasons.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Yeah, like, I don't think these guys would run away. Like, ew, gross.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Girls have cooties. I don't think that's what it is.
- 10:29Speaker 1: But I do think a couple of ladies who might
- 10:31Speaker 1: have thought about coming pulled up there and were like, shit,
- 10:33Speaker 1: is the 40-40 club still open?
- 10:36Speaker 3: Where's the bathroom? Nowhere? Okay, then let's go literally anywhere else.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yeah, let's mix this.
- 10:41Speaker 1: But nobody seems happy about the fact that Trump is
- 10:44Speaker 1: pulling up to this just because it seems like it's
- 10:46Speaker 1: going to make things really inconvenient about going to a
- 10:49Speaker 1: venue that, if nothing else, is wildly convenient. It's crazy
- 10:53Speaker 1: convenient even if you don't live in Manhattan, even if
- 10:56Speaker 1: you don't live in the city of New York, because
- 10:59Speaker 1: it's right there at Penn Station.
- 11:00Speaker 2: It's really easy to get there. So now he's pulling up.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Don't nobody want him to be there and see... This
- 11:07Speaker 1: is where Dolan messing up. Dolan is messing up because
- 11:14Speaker 1: it's been real easy to forget about him.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Yes.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Now you can't quite forget about him because it's just
- 11:22Speaker 1: going to be a big old giant hassle. I will
- 11:26Speaker 1: also point out that like. Times is kind of hard
- 11:30Speaker 1: out here in these streets. Now, to be fair. I
- 11:34Speaker 1: don't know how hard those times are for the people
- 11:36Speaker 1: that are going to be at this expensive-ass game.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Fair.
- 11:39Speaker 2: It's the salad days for them. I had a.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Talk with someone with whom I do some work about
- 11:45Speaker 1: my finances. I'm trying to make that sound a little
- 11:48Speaker 1: bit less 1%-y, but you understand what I mean.
- 11:50Speaker 2: I was talking to him.
- 11:51Speaker 1: He was like, yeah, I don't know about this economy, but,
- 11:53Speaker 1: you know, for people with money, it's great times.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I mean, like, I think what's the final count of
- 12:00Speaker 3: what the nosebleeds are for Madison Square?
- 12:02Speaker 6: 13K? Yeah.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I think so.
- 12:04Speaker 1: To be fair, though, those people don't plan to sell
- 12:08Speaker 1: those tickets. I think that's the part that people misunderstand.
- 12:11Speaker 2: About those sale prices.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Right.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Those are people who really want to go to this game.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Right.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Like if some way you got access to these seats,
- 12:20Speaker 1: you really want.
- 12:21Speaker 2: To go to this game.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I don't think you're going to convince me that anybody
- 12:23Speaker 1: is paying $ 13, 000 to sit up there with Richie Guerin.
- 12:26Speaker 1: and Dick Barnett and Willis Reed, right? Like, I don't
- 12:30Speaker 1: think anybody's doing that. I do think there are people
- 12:33Speaker 1: with seats that high who are saying, the only way
- 12:36Speaker 1: I'm going to miss this game is if you give
- 12:38Speaker 1: me $ 15, 000. Like, now we got to think about it.
- 12:41Speaker 1: This comes up every year with Carolina Duke, where people
- 12:44Speaker 1: get offered these crazy amounts of money and they finally
- 12:46Speaker 1: got a chance to go to the game and they say, no,
- 12:48Speaker 1: we're going to go to the game, right? I think
- 12:50Speaker 1: that's what, those are sale prices that are individually being set.
- 12:54Speaker 2: These are not the prices that are being set by
- 12:55Speaker 2: Madison Square Garden.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Right?
- 12:57Speaker 1: So, no, I don't, I don't, I think that if
- 13:00Speaker 1: somebody really wanted to move them seats, you get in
- 13:02Speaker 1: about five minutes before the game, you might be able
- 13:04Speaker 1: to get in for five Gs or something like that.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Maybe.
- 13:06Speaker 1: But people go try. Right? They're going to give it
- 13:10Speaker 1: a go. I understand this. That's like, that's what it's
- 13:13Speaker 1: going to be. It's going to be crazy loud in there.
- 13:19Speaker 1: I don't, I don't, assuming everybody gets in on time
- 13:22Speaker 1: because they got to go through and check their bags.
- 13:24Speaker 3: I mean, they're telling people get there two hours before.
- 13:27Speaker 3: That is... It's like an international flight. Yes.
- 13:32Speaker 2: That's what this game has become.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I tell you this, though. It's going to take a
- 13:37Speaker 1: lot more than that to get these people to not
- 13:38Speaker 1: be as crunked up as one could imagine.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Right?
- 13:42Speaker 2: Like, it's going.
- 13:43Speaker 3: That's the thing that's crazy. It's like, if you got
- 13:45Speaker 3: to get there two hours before, you know what people
- 13:47Speaker 3: are going to... I hope they... You know what people
- 13:50Speaker 3: are going to do for two hours? Buy a bunch
- 13:52Speaker 3: of alcohol.
- 13:53Speaker 7: Yeah, they are.
- 13:54Speaker 1: They are.
- 13:54Speaker 2: They are.
- 13:55Speaker 3: They are.
- 13:55Speaker 1: And look, man, we don't We don't have any precedent,
- 13:58Speaker 1: I don't feel like, in the NBA.
- 14:00Speaker 7: No.
- 14:01Speaker 1: For something like this. Like, this is the equivalent of, like,
- 14:06Speaker 1: 2016 Cubs. Not the exact same, but it might as
- 14:09Speaker 1: well be. The difference in application between 50 years and
- 14:13Speaker 1: 100 years really isn't that much.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Right?
- 14:16Speaker 2: And this is not... Maybe the.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Closest to this is the Cleveland baseball team having not
- 14:21Speaker 1: won a championship since 1948.
- 14:22Speaker 2: It had been so long. they had the second black
- 14:26Speaker 2: person on the team. And it was the.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Satchel Paige was on the team. That's how long ago
- 14:33Speaker 1: it was since they had won anything.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Right?
- 14:37Speaker 1: New York, it feel the same for the Knicks. It
- 14:40Speaker 1: might as well. And in fact, remember that. When the
- 14:42Speaker 1: Cubs won, they were playing against Cleveland.
- 14:44Speaker 6: Right.
- 14:45Speaker 2: It was more or less.
- 14:47Speaker 1: The same situation.
- 14:48Speaker 2: It's going to be there. This has been a great team.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Great.
- 14:52Speaker 2: I think that.
- 14:54Speaker 1: That I had asked the question, like, so what's it
- 14:56Speaker 1: going to take for people to like jump off board
- 14:58Speaker 1: with the Knicks for this run that they've been on?
- 14:59Speaker 1: And it hasn't come up.
- 15:01Speaker 5: We don't have the answer for what it would take.
- 15:03Speaker 1: And by the way, it's going to take a lot
- 15:04Speaker 1: more than one. I mean, it's going to take so
- 15:08Speaker 1: much more than that. And this is, look, even after
- 15:11Speaker 1: they almost blew game two, and let's not get it twisted,
- 15:15Speaker 1: they almost blew that game. Like Jalen Brunson still hit
- 15:19Speaker 1: the shot late that they needed, but they nearly blew that.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Carl went back to committing stupid fouls, right? Like it
- 15:25Speaker 1: was a lot that went on at the end of
- 15:27Speaker 1: that game. And still nobody's thinking about it like that.
- 15:30Speaker 1: They're just like, yeah, man, we the next, baby. We
- 15:32Speaker 1: find a way to win. Where the fuck y'all stop?
- 15:34Speaker 2: Where did y'all find that?
- 15:36Speaker 1: What, has it just been under the couch cushion the
- 15:39Speaker 1: whole time?
- 15:40Speaker 2: And you just couldn't find it for 50 years? Oh, shit,
- 15:42Speaker 2: there you go, right there. Man, my bad. I should
- 15:45Speaker 2: have just asked somebody to help me look for it, right?
- 15:47Speaker 2: Maybe that's what they needed.
- 15:48Speaker 1: They needed all five dudes to get in there.
- 15:51Speaker 2: And find a way to figure it out. But no,
- 15:53Speaker 2: this is.
- 15:57Speaker 1: This to me is a story of something that you
- 16:01Speaker 1: don't really see that much in the NBA. I would
- 16:05Speaker 1: actually argue, and it seems maybe crazy to say it
- 16:07Speaker 1: this way, but it is the 2004 and 2014 become
- 16:14Speaker 1: the best examples of this, of just like college has
- 16:17Speaker 1: a bunch of like really good teams, right? Where you
- 16:19Speaker 1: just have this, where it's like, who's the best guy?
- 16:21Speaker 1: That isn't really the answer to the question. It's just
- 16:23Speaker 1: a collection of dudes and how well they play together.
- 16:25Speaker 1: You don't really see that in the NBA. That's not
- 16:27Speaker 1: really how the NBA works. The 2014 Spurs don't seem
- 16:31Speaker 1: like that, but it's like Kawhi before he gets there.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Tony Parker, middle age. Milo Ginobili, middle age. Tim Duncan,
- 16:37Speaker 1: certified old. If you watch that team, that had nothing
- 16:40Speaker 1: to do with them having one superstar. Maybe it was
- 16:41Speaker 1: a level of experience, but they was moving the ball
- 16:44Speaker 1: and it always got to where it needed to be
- 16:46Speaker 1: and everything was straight.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Those are these Knicks.
- 16:50Speaker 1: It's actually the kind of team that New York would
- 16:51Speaker 1: appreciate and the kind of team that New York likes.
- 16:54Speaker 2: This is what they've got. They came out unscathed.
- 16:57Speaker 1: If they win this game three, I don't know what
- 17:00Speaker 1: Thursday night is going to be like in this city.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Because if they win game three, I don't think San
- 17:04Speaker 1: Antonio got nearly enough to think about doing anything in
- 17:07Speaker 1: game four. If they win this game three, don't let
- 17:10Speaker 1: them blow them out in game three, which is on
- 17:12Speaker 1: the board, right? Like, we'll get to the Spurs, but
- 17:15Speaker 1: they say it all the right things. But everything is
- 17:17Speaker 1: on the table for them to get their asses kicked.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Out here.
- 17:21Speaker 6: Right.
- 17:21Speaker 3: And the thing that's shocking to me about the Knicks
- 17:24Speaker 3: is they're starting to feel inevitable. Once that game two
- 17:29Speaker 3: was closed in the second quarter, like they didn't get
- 17:31Speaker 3: blown out from the jump. I was like, they're going
- 17:34Speaker 3: to pull this off.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, so I felt like they were. And then
- 17:37Speaker 1: the Spurs came back and they, you know what? Let's
- 17:40Speaker 1: just go ahead to, and the Spurs had a chance,
- 17:42Speaker 1: but dot, dot, dot.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Okay.
- 17:50Speaker 1: The reason I decided to wait to talk about the Spurs,
- 17:54Speaker 1: and Ryan, you tell me if I'm wrong here. I
- 17:56Speaker 1: just felt like all the discussion was just a bunch
- 17:58Speaker 1: of people who had been waiting for their chance to
- 18:00Speaker 1: be haters.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Definitely a little bit.
- 18:03Speaker 1: We learned with the Chet situation, the streets respond to
- 18:06Speaker 1: the hatred way more than they do to the love,
- 18:09Speaker 1: which is why this may become a YouTube breakout that
- 18:12Speaker 1: gets released on Sunday afternoon.
- 18:14Speaker 2: But it is, I just, I didn't feel right.
- 18:17Speaker 1: You know, with Chet, we didn't do, but we did
- 18:19Speaker 1: break it out. Okay, so we are that which we despise.
- 18:23Speaker 1: A little bit.
- 18:25Speaker 2: I'm torn, man. I'm torn, man.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Baby got to eat.
- 18:27Speaker 2: You understand what I'm saying? That's what it is.
- 18:30Speaker 1: That ending in San Antonio was... shall we say, interesting.
- 18:35Speaker 1: They'll get no credit for the comeback, right? Everything about
- 18:38Speaker 1: game two has been through the lens of what Victor
- 18:41Speaker 1: Wimpenyama did not do. Did not play well in the
- 18:46Speaker 1: first half. And looking back on it, man, it was
- 18:50Speaker 1: great defense by the Knicks.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Right. Right.
- 18:52Speaker 1: It wasn't like he was running away from the ball.
- 18:55Speaker 1: The ball wasn't getting to him. I think the biggest
- 18:58Speaker 1: misnomer of this, and I'm big on this too, is, man,
- 19:01Speaker 1: why won't you go into the paint? I don't think
- 19:03Speaker 1: that Victor's averse to going to the paint. I don't
- 19:06Speaker 1: think he's opposed to getting to the paint, but it's
- 19:08Speaker 1: big guys over there not letting it happen.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 19:11Speaker 5: Right.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Like there is such a strength advantage on the front
- 19:15Speaker 1: line from the Knicks that for Victor to get there
- 19:18Speaker 1: requires him to do these kind of post moves that
- 19:21Speaker 1: seem to take forever.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Because he's so long. Right.
- 19:25Speaker 6: Right.
- 19:26Speaker 1: So I don't think it's a matter of him, like,
- 19:28Speaker 1: not being willing to go down there. And I think
- 19:30Speaker 1: he winds up taking these threes in part because he
- 19:34Speaker 1: feels like you got to get out there.
- 19:35Speaker 2: And take a shot.
- 19:38Speaker 1: But I did not think of, I mean, and don't
- 19:40Speaker 1: get me wrong, Towns and Ananobi were putting a hurt
- 19:44Speaker 1: to him on defense, right? The thing that's gotten me
- 19:47Speaker 1: with people like I think are getting revisionist about Carl
- 19:50Speaker 1: Towns and they're like, man, you know, you guys said
- 19:52Speaker 1: he spent too much time on the perimeter, but that's
- 19:54Speaker 1: why he's doing so well.
- 19:56Speaker 2: I disagree with that.
- 19:57Speaker 1: I think his ability to play on the perimeter is
- 19:59Speaker 1: a big part of it. But the biggest reason that
- 20:01Speaker 1: he's doing so well is he's so goddamn big, which
- 20:04Speaker 1: is the part that the other people, including me, had
- 20:06Speaker 1: been saying. You're too big to relegate yourself to standing
- 20:11Speaker 1: out on the perimeter, which I want to be clear
- 20:13Speaker 1: is the same point that people are making about Victor.
- 20:16Speaker 1: The difference is what you're saying about Victor is not
- 20:20Speaker 1: that he's too big to be standing on the perimeter.
- 20:22Speaker 1: You're saying that he's too tall to be standing on
- 20:25Speaker 1: the perimeter and he is tall, man. The reason that
- 20:29Speaker 1: he's having trouble with Towns and again, OG, who is 6'7,
- 20:33Speaker 1: is because they are big. And so when Carl puts
- 20:36Speaker 1: the ball on the dribble and gets a little bit
- 20:39Speaker 1: past him and he turns that shoulder, there's nothing Victor
- 20:42Speaker 1: can do. Just about everybody else, the guys that aren't
- 20:44Speaker 1: that big, he can play from behind and pitch they shit, right?
- 20:48Speaker 1: He can't do that with Towns. Towns is 260 or
- 20:50Speaker 1: 270 pounds. There's like, at least appears to be in
- 20:53Speaker 1: that zone.
- 20:54Speaker 2: He can't do nothing with him on that front.
- 20:57Speaker 1: That's where it's like, no, the issue with Towns, if
- 21:00Speaker 1: Towns had played with what appears to be this level
- 21:02Speaker 1: of toughness and this level of physical resolve, he wouldn't
- 21:05Speaker 1: have been saying that stuff we said about him before.
- 21:07Speaker 1: But it gets us back to Victor where he's not
- 21:10Speaker 1: going to be able to get himself down to the
- 21:12Speaker 1: places that people want him to get. The question is
- 21:15Speaker 1: why Mitch Johnson is not figuring out a way to
- 21:18Speaker 1: get him or get the ball there or whatever it is.
- 21:21Speaker 1: They don't seem to be doing anything. And you let
- 21:23Speaker 1: me know if I'm wrong here. I think Mike Brown
- 21:26Speaker 1: seems to be doing an excellent job. I don't see
- 21:29Speaker 1: Mitch Johnson doing anything schematically to make things easier for
- 21:33Speaker 1: his best player. And he needs to, because as we
- 21:37Speaker 1: talked about last show, what is interesting about these teams
- 21:40Speaker 1: is the guys that get out here and play for
- 21:42Speaker 1: both teams are clustered around the same age. And I
- 21:45Speaker 1: believe that median age for the Spurs is like 22
- 21:48Speaker 1: or 23. And that median age for the Knicks is
- 21:51Speaker 1: like 28 or 29. Right.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Right?
- 21:54Speaker 2: Like, that's a big difference.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I made a bit of a mistake last show where
- 21:57Speaker 1: I talked about the Knicks didn't have guys that had
- 21:58Speaker 1: been this far.
- 21:59Speaker 2: It's not true. Mikael Bridges has.
- 22:01Speaker 1: You can put OG out there, but OG was hurt
- 22:03Speaker 1: for most of that run in 2019, as I recall it.
- 22:07Speaker 2: But either way it goes, they got bigger dudes.
- 22:11Speaker 1: You're going to have to figure out a way to
- 22:14Speaker 1: help Carl Anthony, I mean, not him, Victor Wimbanyama, get
- 22:17Speaker 1: to the shots that are easy, right? The expectation that he,
- 22:20Speaker 1: at this point in his career, is just going to
- 22:22Speaker 1: be able to do that, no, no.
- 22:25Speaker 3: No one that young has consistent, like, go-to moves late,
- 22:30Speaker 3: you know.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Yeah, but even, forget about go-to moves.
- 22:33Speaker 2: He's too spindly, sinewy, lanky, right? To just think, okay, well,
- 22:39Speaker 2: what he's going to do is he's going.
- 22:40Speaker 1: To muscle Mitchell Robinson to make him give him space. Oh,
- 22:44Speaker 1: that's not going to happen. So how are you going
- 22:47Speaker 1: to figure this out? Like what got me on that
- 22:48Speaker 1: last play of the game where he missed that shot.
- 22:51Speaker 1: There's no way that to me you should have been
- 22:53Speaker 1: playing for a pick and pop under that circumstance because
- 22:56Speaker 1: I don't think you want him taking that shot. I'd
- 22:58Speaker 1: much rather Fox take that shot.
- 23:00Speaker 4: Right.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Then him.
- 23:03Speaker 1: I would have thought that off that screen, a hard
- 23:05Speaker 1: role and people have said, well, they the Knicks had
- 23:07Speaker 1: all those people in there. That's fine. Let them have
- 23:10Speaker 1: all those people in there. Let them all look at Victor.
- 23:13Speaker 1: And then we get the ball or one of these
- 23:14Speaker 1: other guys who should be able.
- 23:15Speaker 2: To make a shot.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Or, you know, or someone fouls. You're sending them to
- 23:20Speaker 3: the line.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, how many of them can get high
- 23:23Speaker 1: enough to do something?
- 23:23Speaker 2: Like, it's all those questions.
- 23:25Speaker 1: I don't know. But I thought that the play there
- 23:28Speaker 1: should have been a hard roll rather than, well, let's
- 23:30Speaker 1: play it for him to take an elbow jumper. But
- 23:32Speaker 1: we've seen when it's come time for big shots, what
- 23:34Speaker 1: they clearly think is his spot is like an elbow jumper.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Right.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Right.
- 23:39Speaker 4: And that.
- 23:40Speaker 2: No, I agree.
- 23:40Speaker 1: You don't want it to be that, but you're going
- 23:43Speaker 1: to have to figure out with this guy a way
- 23:45Speaker 1: to get him better shots. The other thing that's happening
- 23:47Speaker 1: with them is interesting. Dylan Harper, who, he's going to
- 23:51Speaker 1: be that guy. and he's still 20 years old and
- 23:54Speaker 1: has moments where he looks like that and does those things.
- 23:57Speaker 1: What I love about his game is sometimes I rhyme slow,
- 24:01Speaker 1: sometimes I rhyme fast. He can play at whatever speed
- 24:05Speaker 1: is necessary, and you can't quite tell which one it's
- 24:07Speaker 1: going to be.
- 24:08Speaker 2: The XL, DSL game is strong.
- 24:12Speaker 1: I think we see a lot of guys that have
- 24:13Speaker 1: strong DSL, guys with strong XL, not that many that
- 24:17Speaker 1: have both in the way that he has the two
- 24:19Speaker 1: of them. That's been great, but he's still like crazy young.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Stephon Castle, that's the guy that's doing the James Harden
- 24:26Speaker 1: 2012 impression. Like not all the way in there, but
- 24:29Speaker 1: we saw that early in the last series and we've
- 24:32Speaker 1: seen it here that he's 21 years old, man. And
- 24:36Speaker 1: sometimes that moment's going to feel a little bit big
- 24:39Speaker 1: to him. Those cats like Vassell and Sham Pipple, they
- 24:41Speaker 1: very clearly understand what they're here to do. shoot went
- 24:45Speaker 1: open yes and they seem to do pretty well um
- 24:49Speaker 1: when it comes to that but no we're not at
- 24:51Speaker 1: a point in the victor game where he's just going
- 24:53Speaker 1: to decide where he's at the point and what we
- 24:55Speaker 1: saw that in game one of the last series where
- 24:57Speaker 1: he can be that dude like everything can line up
- 24:59Speaker 1: and he can make it happen but hey you're just
- 25:02Speaker 1: gonna jump on my back and we're gonna make it
- 25:03Speaker 1: happen you can't count.
- 25:06Speaker 3: On what you make of the late turnover as they're
- 25:09Speaker 3: going up the floor.
- 25:10Speaker 1: So somebody who was at the arena told me that
- 25:12Speaker 1: what you needed to look for was that Mitch Johnson
- 25:15Speaker 1: told him to push it.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Really?
- 25:17Speaker 2: And then everybody kind of freaked out.
- 25:19Speaker 1: I mean, Castle looked for the ball, and then Victor tried.
- 25:23Speaker 1: We're in a weird world where we're asking, why did
- 25:26Speaker 1: the 7'5 guy try to give the ball to a guard?
- 25:29Speaker 3: Yes.
- 25:30Speaker 2: I don't really understand why you would do such a thing.
- 25:32Speaker 1: I would have tried to play for a transition basket.
- 25:35Speaker 1: I've seen people say he should have called a timeout.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Hell no, he shouldn't have called a timeout.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Get it back. They're not set.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Jalen and Cat are still on the floor.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. It was an unfortunate play, and then it
- 25:47Speaker 1: led to the foul. But they still had a chance afterward, right? Like,
- 25:51Speaker 1: it was a moment that looked bad. It did not
- 25:55Speaker 1: lose them the game. Maybe it lost them the chance
- 25:58Speaker 1: to go to overtime. But I don't know. I mean,
- 26:02Speaker 1: I don't know. I just thought, I thought what that
- 26:05Speaker 1: was was people's opportunity to to get their jokes off, right?
- 26:11Speaker 1: Like that's really what it came down to.
- 26:16Speaker 2: It was their chance.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Built a dude up two weeks ago. All it was
- 26:20Speaker 1: was two weeks. I saw somebody on the internet again.
- 26:22Speaker 1: They're like, you know, this is the thing I was
- 26:24Speaker 1: talking about before where everything is about what would have
- 26:26Speaker 1: happened otherwise.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Man, what would we have said if LeBron had done that?
- 26:31Speaker 2: Why are we talking about him?
- 26:33Speaker 1: Number one. Number two, I was here for it, okay?
- 26:37Speaker 1: Year four, LeBron in the NBA finals did not play well.
- 26:43Speaker 1: You ever hear anybody talk about it? Pretty rarely.
- 26:46Speaker 3: It was a long time ago.
- 26:47Speaker 1: No, but even then, it wasn't... When we were killing
- 26:51Speaker 1: him for 2010 and 2011, nobody was taking.
- 26:54Speaker 2: It back to 2007.
- 26:56Speaker 6: Right?
- 26:56Speaker 3: Like, no.
- 26:58Speaker 1: He simply wasn't good in that series. It wasn't that
- 27:01Speaker 1: big a deal. Now, year seven and year eight.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. We were on his neck, okay?
- 27:10Speaker 1: I would also argue that year seven and year eight,
- 27:12Speaker 1: when it went bad in the playoffs, he played worse
- 27:15Speaker 1: than Victor played in game two. By far played worse
- 27:18Speaker 1: than Victor. 2011 NBA Finals, LeBron James was awful.
- 27:22Speaker 3: It's interesting because he didn't, I don't think he had
- 27:25Speaker 3: a signature moment, like a signature gaffe. But he just looked,
- 27:30Speaker 3: had the deer in the headlights for two hours.
- 27:32Speaker 4: Oh, no, no.
- 27:32Speaker 1: He had the signature gaffe. It was being guarded in
- 27:35Speaker 1: the post by J.J. Beret.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Fair.
- 27:38Speaker 1: That's the part that you just knew it was over.
- 27:40Speaker 2: It was all the way over. I mean, there's a
- 27:42Speaker 2: lot to it.
- 27:43Speaker 1: I think there's an argument that it humanized LeBron in
- 27:46Speaker 1: a way because I just think the stress of that
- 27:47Speaker 1: year had gotten to be too much. But ultimately, it
- 27:53Speaker 1: was worse than anything we saw from game two.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Is what I'm saying.
- 27:58Speaker 1: But when he was 22, we weren't killing him for
- 28:01Speaker 1: not playing well in that game. Larry Bird did not
- 28:06Speaker 1: win NBA Finals MVP in 1981. He did not have
- 28:10Speaker 1: a great finals that year. Magic would not have won
- 28:15Speaker 1: NBA Finals MVP in 1980 if it weren't for the
- 28:18Speaker 1: Kareem injury.
- 28:18Speaker 2: He probably shouldn't have under those circumstances.
- 28:21Speaker 1: The only point that I'm making is now the Spurs
- 28:24Speaker 1: are kind of going back to what we all have
- 28:26Speaker 1: thought forever is what it should be for a team
- 28:31Speaker 1: at this point, right? That's how they played in those
- 28:33Speaker 1: two games. Maybe they get up off the ground, right?
- 28:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Maybe, maybe they're able to put it together.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I thought that everything Victor said, Hey man, I got
- 28:41Speaker 1: to have more poise. He seems to be the most
- 28:43Speaker 1: self-aware and most able to acknowledge his faults and let
- 28:46Speaker 1: it go, which I think is very, very important. That's
- 28:48Speaker 1: that mindfulness stuff that he seems to be all about doing, right?
- 28:52Speaker 1: Like that to me is where that stuff comes up
- 28:54Speaker 1: is in the way that he talks about and handles
- 28:56Speaker 1: those things.
- 28:57Speaker 2: But they're going to need to get it.
- 29:00Speaker 1: If they're going to have any chance to win this,
- 29:02Speaker 1: they've got to get out here and get it done.
- 29:06Speaker 2: And it's got to take place early.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Like, you guys get down 15-2 or something like this?
- 29:14Speaker 6: Mm-mm.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Yeah, you were talking about how loud that building's going
- 29:17Speaker 3: to be. If they get up to a big run,
- 29:19Speaker 3: big lead... Yeah. It's going to feel like a party
- 29:22Speaker 3: in there real, real soon.
- 29:24Speaker 1: But in fairness to the Spurs, it's something worth keeping
- 29:26Speaker 1: in mind. It's going to be nerve wracking for the
- 29:28Speaker 1: Knicks too. Like, no, everybody thinks they're going to win.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Like if they are capable of feeling pressure, this is
- 29:36Speaker 1: the game that they'll feel it. I think they'd feel
- 29:38Speaker 1: more pressure here than they would feel in the games seven.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Because game seven is like, oh, this could go either way.
- 29:43Speaker 1: This is, I don't think, can you think of a
- 29:45Speaker 1: team that's been expected to win a game in the
- 29:48Speaker 1: way that this team is? Like those first two, those
- 29:51Speaker 1: first two spreads were weird.
- 29:53Speaker 3: Right.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Right.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Like those spreads were like the Spurs were like a
- 29:56Speaker 1: six and a half point favorite in game two. That
- 29:58Speaker 1: was preposterous.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, it seems that the Knicks have been
- 30:04Speaker 3: consistently undervalued.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Yo, do you know what the spread is in this one?
- 30:10Speaker 1: As of this moment?
- 30:10Speaker 3: I'm going to go Knicks favored by three and a half.
- 30:14Speaker 1: One and a half? What am I missing here?
- 30:20Speaker 3: That's insane.
- 30:22Speaker 1: What are we... I am totally confused by this, right? Like,
- 30:26Speaker 1: I can't... No, no, no, no.
- 30:28Speaker 2: I don't see this.
- 30:29Speaker 6: But.
- 30:30Speaker 1: This could go a lot of ways, man. This could
- 30:33Speaker 1: go a lot of ways. I obviously think that the
- 30:35Speaker 1: Knicks are going to win. But what if Victor comes
- 30:40Speaker 1: out here and puts up like 35?
- 30:41Speaker 3: At MSG?
- 30:45Speaker 1: It's possible. That's the thing. It's simply possible. It is
- 30:49Speaker 1: not probable. And this is the difference between a guy
- 30:52Speaker 1: like this at this age and then where it gets later.
- 30:55Speaker 1: At this age, it's possible. Later, it becomes probable, right?
- 31:01Speaker 1: The skills catch up to where he's way ahead of
- 31:04Speaker 1: the game mentally. And I don't mean in terms of
- 31:06Speaker 1: processing basketball. I mean, in terms of mindset, he's way
- 31:09Speaker 1: ahead of 22 at that point. But everything else, it's
- 31:13Speaker 1: got to catch up, man. It's got to catch up.
- 31:15Speaker 1: And maybe they catch lightning in a bottle here. Maybe
- 31:18Speaker 1: he's super hot or whatever it is. But to me,
- 31:21Speaker 1: I got less questions about how Victor's going to turn
- 31:24Speaker 1: up than how Stefan Castle is going to turn up.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Because it's possible, man.
- 31:29Speaker 1: He might completely tighten it up, right? Like, one thing
- 31:33Speaker 1: that does seem to be contagious about Victor is that
- 31:35Speaker 1: the other guys are like, yeah, man, well, we think
- 31:37Speaker 1: we're good enough to win.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Like, they have that mindset.
- 31:39Speaker 1: But when that whistle blows, man, we've seen the tightness
- 31:42Speaker 1: come up in a lot of these dudes. And we've
- 31:45Speaker 1: seen it come up in Victor. They eventually pulled it
- 31:47Speaker 1: back together. But this is going to be a test
- 31:50Speaker 1: of their mind and a test of will and determination.
- 31:53Speaker 1: No matter how modern sports get, I forget who's the
- 31:57Speaker 1: originator of this tweet. My buddy Miles Brown sent it
- 31:59Speaker 1: to me, though, is that a lot of the playoffs
- 32:00Speaker 1: just come down to who a bitch and who ain't.
- 32:04Speaker 1: And we may not find out who is, but we're
- 32:07Speaker 1: definitely going to find out who ain't. New York, the

- 34:23Speaker 3: All right, Bo, if you haven't heard, big viewership for
- 34:26Speaker 3: this NBA Finals. Up 90% over last year's Game 1.
- 34:32Speaker 3: Game 1 between the Spurs and the Knicks averaged nearly
- 34:35Speaker 3: 17 million viewers. Most watched Game 1 since 2018. Bo,
- 34:41Speaker 3: what do you make of this?
- 34:43Speaker 6: One.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Let us not discount the possibility of some stat juking.
- 34:46Speaker 3: Of course.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Like, I barely know what numbers mean anymore, right? But
- 34:51Speaker 1: I want to be fair on this, that the quantitative
- 34:55Speaker 1: methods do become important.
- 34:57Speaker 2: But number two.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Wow.
- 35:00Speaker 2: It's amazing what happens when you have.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Actual factual star power combined with the biggest market in
- 35:09Speaker 1: the country. Last year, what did we have? Oklahoma City
- 35:14Speaker 1: and Indiana. Who the fuck was the number two for Indiana?
- 35:19Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like, like it just, it wasn't,
- 35:22Speaker 1: I don't think these.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Ratings would have been this high if you would put
- 35:24Speaker 2: the Knicks in last year.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Right.
- 35:26Speaker 1: But Victor- Victor's at a point where people who don't
- 35:30Speaker 1: watch basketball know what you're talking about, right?
- 35:33Speaker 2: Oh, I heard this big French guy over there, even
- 35:36Speaker 2: if they don't know his name, right?
- 35:37Speaker 1: Like, yeah, no, this is, this is the thing like
- 35:39Speaker 1: this idea that somehow basketball has slipped in cultural relevance.
- 35:44Speaker 1: I mean, maybe I just live in a different world,
- 35:46Speaker 1: but it ain't gone nowhere in the world that I
- 35:49Speaker 1: traffic in. But in terms of television, yeah, man, I think,
- 35:53Speaker 1: first of all, I think it's helped the NBC thing
- 35:54Speaker 1: has helped a lot.
- 35:56Speaker 6: Right.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I think being over the air and them being there,
- 35:59Speaker 1: I think has been a big deal. I think I
- 36:02Speaker 1: also think, Hey man, this is the first NBA finals
- 36:05Speaker 1: of Inside the NBA. Like, I don't think that that's
- 36:06Speaker 1: a small thing either. Like, I think this feels like
- 36:09Speaker 1: a big deal in a way where last year was
- 36:12Speaker 1: the first time when we bullied Adam into putting the
- 36:15Speaker 1: trophy on the floor.
- 36:17Speaker 2: It was like, hey, man, you weren't making this feel
- 36:18Speaker 2: like a big deal.
- 36:19Speaker 1: I think NBC has done a great job of making
- 36:21Speaker 1: this feel like a big deal.
- 36:22Speaker 2: I think the broadcast this year.
- 36:24Speaker 3: I mean, obviously, NBC had the playoffs and the Western
- 36:28Speaker 3: Conference finals. The finals are on ESPN. Yes.
- 36:31Speaker 1: But it all builds.
- 36:32Speaker 3: Yeah, correct. I completely agree that NBC's presentation of the
- 36:37Speaker 3: playoffs has definitely... It.
- 36:38Speaker 1: All feels like a big deal. And look, I worked
- 36:41Speaker 1: at ESPN for a long time. I worked with a
- 36:42Speaker 1: lot of those people for a long time.
- 36:45Speaker 3: Having.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Charles, Shaq, Kenny and Ernie makes this feel like a
- 36:50Speaker 1: bigger deal than any incarnation of NBA countdown that there
- 36:55Speaker 1: has ever been. And I think that that carries over
- 36:58Speaker 1: into how much like what the ratings are.
- 37:00Speaker 2: These these playoffs have felt important.
- 37:03Speaker 3: You know what feels silly? All the conversations we had
- 37:07Speaker 3: about who's the next face of the league.
- 37:09Speaker 1: I told people, you have to admit, I don't know
- 37:12Speaker 1: if we did it on this show, but I've said it.
- 37:13Speaker 1: I was like, no, it's going.
- 37:16Speaker 3: To be Jason Tatum and Edwards.
- 37:19Speaker 1: No, they got, we just got so caught up in
- 37:22Speaker 1: the America part.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:24Speaker 1: No, we need you to be amazing. Right.
- 37:26Speaker 6: Right.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Like I don't, and it's, it is wild because all
- 37:29Speaker 2: these guys.
- 37:29Speaker 1: That we've had come from other countries, a lot of
- 37:31Speaker 1: them have been really impressive.
- 37:32Speaker 4: Right.
- 37:33Speaker 2: This one's amazing.
- 37:35Speaker 3: He's amazing. He is. He jumps off the screen, both
- 37:39Speaker 3: physically and with his play. His interviews are incredible. And
- 37:44Speaker 3: I mean, I mean, he also put up one of
- 37:46Speaker 3: the biggest star performances we've seen in a long, long
- 37:49Speaker 3: time last week.
- 37:50Speaker 6: Yep.
- 37:50Speaker 1: And he's becoming polarizing all because he keeps saying what
- 37:53Speaker 1: he should.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:54Speaker 1: The haters, especially the little ones, the little guys, this, this,
- 37:59Speaker 1: this is, they not, I can just imagine them.
- 38:02Speaker 2: They just, Reaching up into the sky, trying to figure
- 38:05Speaker 2: out what to do.
- 38:06Speaker 3: All right. The World Cup kicks off this week, and
- 38:10Speaker 3: there is one consistent narrative throughout the country. It's really,
- 38:15Speaker 3: really hot. In England, they are using special high-tech palm
- 38:21Speaker 3: cooling devices to try and keep them cool. Over one-third
- 38:26Speaker 3: of the games next week will be in what will
- 38:28Speaker 3: be termed dangerous levels of heat. according to, uh, according
- 38:35Speaker 3: to the NPR. Well, I want you to, uh, I'm
- 38:38Speaker 3: going to run through where some of these teams are training, uh,
- 38:41Speaker 3: just to, uh, get kind of an idea of the heat.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Norway training in Greensboro, North Carolina.
- 38:47Speaker 5: Great.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Hold on. In Greenville, Greensboro, North Carolina.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Oh, Greensboro.
- 38:51Speaker 3: Greensboro.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Big, big difference.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Big difference. Uh, Sweden, Frisco, Texas, Dallas.
- 38:58Speaker 6: Yep.
- 38:59Speaker 3: Um, Let's see. Let's go through a few Portugal, Palms,
- 39:04Speaker 3: Palm beach, uh, Spain, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
- 39:10Speaker 1: You could tell who's, you could tell who did their
- 39:11Speaker 1: location scouting early and who waited too late.
- 39:14Speaker 5: Right.
- 39:14Speaker 3: Um, so, uh, Turkey, a Mesa, Arizona.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Wow.
- 39:20Speaker 1: So shout out to you to catching up. It is
- 39:22Speaker 1: now Turkey, not Turkey.
- 39:23Speaker 4: Yep.
- 39:25Speaker 3: I know that because they're playing the United States.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Oh, OK.
- 39:28Speaker 3: But but yeah. What do you make of this of
- 39:31Speaker 3: the world is worrying about the U.S. 's heat issues?
- 39:35Speaker 2: I'm just curious. It wasn't hotter than that in Qatar.
- 39:39Speaker 3: They had to play that in the fall.
- 39:42Speaker 2: That's right.
- 39:44Speaker 1: So is America at that point where we got to
- 39:47Speaker 1: start having stuff like that in the Olympics, like when
- 39:49Speaker 1: they haven't.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Been like Australia? Like, are we are we at that?
- 39:53Speaker 1: Is that the place that we have reached that you're
- 39:55Speaker 1: going to have to wait in order to do that?
- 39:58Speaker 3: The wild thing is now, I mean, all these games
- 40:00Speaker 3: are in the South. They're going to be in indoor stadiums.
- 40:03Speaker 3: But you imagine going out into MetLife.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Ooh, yeah, they're going to be in for a rude awakening.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Or Kansas City?
- 40:10Speaker 2: Washington, D.C. That one's sneaky.
- 40:14Speaker 1: They're hoping they can get up there in Toronto and
- 40:16Speaker 1: Vancouver and Mexico City, although they're going to be at altitude.
- 40:20Speaker 5: Right. Ooh, yeah.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 40:22Speaker 1: I had never considered this being the case. Maybe the
- 40:25Speaker 1: people from them hot-ass countries will have.
- 40:27Speaker 2: A bit of an advantage.
- 40:29Speaker 3: I think that's a real thing.
- 40:31Speaker 1: You know, the.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Problem is all the countries I'm thinking about.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Would then lead to be saying things that one might
- 40:37Speaker 1: find to be a touch stereotypical.
- 40:40Speaker 2: So I'm not.
- 40:41Speaker 3: They made all this, I mean, they had to add
- 40:43Speaker 3: this mandatory water break, which of course they're obviously using
- 40:46Speaker 3: to do as a TV commercial timeout, and people were
- 40:48Speaker 3: very cynical about it, but I don't know, man, it's
- 40:51Speaker 3: going to be really hot.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it is going to be hot. By the way,
- 40:54Speaker 1: speaking of water, shout out to Zoran for bullying them
- 40:57Speaker 1: into letting people bring, it's the World Cup where he
- 40:58Speaker 1: had to bully people into letting them bring water, right?
- 41:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you know where they weren't going to allow reusable
- 41:04Speaker 3: water bottles? Miami.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Yo, I haven't been to Miami in four years.
- 41:12Speaker 1: You know why? Because when I have time to go
- 41:14Speaker 1: to Miami, I ain't going to fucking Miami.
- 41:16Speaker 4: Right.
- 41:16Speaker 3: It's too hot.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Same thing about Houston. I'm from there.
- 41:20Speaker 1: I get there every year or two because when I
- 41:23Speaker 1: got time, it's too hot.
- 41:25Speaker 3: Yeah, times you have off. August. Yeah.
- 41:28Speaker 2: I'm going to Houston in August this year, boy, and man, that's.
- 41:31Speaker 3: You are a very.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Very good friend. Yeah, I mean, I'm also a big fan.
- 41:37Speaker 1: I think it's big fan and good friend all together.
- 41:39Speaker 3: All right, and finally, artificial intelligence company Anthropic suggested Thursday
- 41:44Speaker 3: a global pause in building the most powerful AI systems.
- 41:47Speaker 3: As the latest models are beginning to show signs they
- 41:49Speaker 3: could escape human control. Quote, we believe it would be
- 41:53Speaker 3: good for the world to have the option to slow
- 41:55Speaker 3: or temporary pause frontier AI development to enable societal structures
- 42:00Speaker 3: and alignment research to keep up with the advance of
- 42:03Speaker 3: the technology. Bo, your thoughts.
- 42:05Speaker 2: Ryan, what was the name of the book?
- 42:08Speaker 3: If they build it, everyone dies.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Ryan and I both read this book. Ryan recommended it
- 42:15Speaker 1: to me. And it is about basically that if we
- 42:17Speaker 1: get to that point of superhuman AI, it's going to
- 42:20Speaker 1: kill us. And there have been many simulations of people
- 42:23Speaker 1: doing this where they go to nuclear war.
- 42:25Speaker 2: They go like they are.
- 42:27Speaker 1: This is a thing. And the thing about that book,
- 42:30Speaker 1: I think we've talked about it on here before, but
- 42:31Speaker 1: I think it bears repeating. The thing that I thought
- 42:34Speaker 1: was most interesting was, and I don't know if you
- 42:35Speaker 1: remember this, Ryan, but in the intro, these guys are
- 42:38Speaker 1: making it clear that we've done everything we can to
- 42:43Speaker 1: not sound like raving lunatics. Yes.
- 42:46Speaker 3: It's the first five pages. Yes.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Like this is as calmly as we can put it.
- 42:52Speaker 1: And the name of the book is if someone builds it,
- 42:55Speaker 1: everybody's going to die or everyone will die. That's them
- 42:59Speaker 1: trying to be cool about this. I don't know how
- 43:02Speaker 1: people don't understand what we've got here. I don't.
- 43:08Speaker 3: It is, it is fat. It's, you know, it's something,
- 43:10Speaker 3: I think it's very interesting that we see a lot
- 43:12Speaker 3: of this, like, I mean, this is anecdotal, but a
- 43:14Speaker 3: lot of this AI usage in people like 65 year
- 43:18Speaker 3: old plus and people very young. And that to me
- 43:21Speaker 3: is people who didn't grow up watching Terminator in the matrix.
- 43:24Speaker 2: That is true. But I admit, I use it for
- 43:26Speaker 2: such reasons.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Largely mundane reasons, help me find places to go visit.
- 43:34Speaker 3: Give me a recipe that I can sneak spinach into
- 43:36Speaker 3: my toddler. Yes.
- 43:38Speaker 1: I have mapped out my travel plans. through like spring
- 43:42Speaker 1: of 2028. That's what I use.
- 43:45Speaker 2: It for, okay? That's what I'm going for in this.
- 43:49Speaker 2: These other people, because did you see.
- 43:51Speaker 1: The thing where the guy was talking about it? I
- 43:52Speaker 1: think it was Sam Altman, but they're trying to see it.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Sam Altman's like, I think that there should be a
- 43:59Speaker 1: privilege with the chatbot because people are using the chatbots
- 44:03Speaker 1: like they use therapists, like they use lawyers.
- 44:05Speaker 2: But there is no privilege legally.
- 44:08Speaker 1: So if you get caught, they're just going to check
- 44:10Speaker 1: your logs with your therapist and to check your logs
- 44:14Speaker 1: with your lawyer.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Like that is that is what they're going for.
- 44:17Speaker 1: You know, because, you know, I've asked about some questions
- 44:20Speaker 1: that are misdemeanors, but questions nonetheless, like like what they.
- 44:25Speaker 3: Travel related questions.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Nah, nah, nah.
- 44:30Speaker 1: But what they've managed to do is they get you
- 44:33Speaker 1: set to where if I have a question, it becomes
- 44:35Speaker 1: your default.
- 44:36Speaker 6: Yes.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Is to go there.
- 44:37Speaker 1: I will make the point also that I think it's
- 44:39Speaker 1: easy for Anthropic to say we need to stop development
- 44:41Speaker 1: because Anthropic has gotten so far that when you say Anthropic,
- 44:44Speaker 1: people know it's an AI company, which is to say,
- 44:46Speaker 1: They would, of course, like to stop development right now.
- 44:49Speaker 1: They got a comfortable 3-1 lead.
- 44:51Speaker 3: They're trying to stop the count.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Yeah, let's run four quarters.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Let's start whipping that ball around, baby.
- 44:57Speaker 3: Yeah, we do not want you to implement a shot clock.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 45:01Speaker 7: There, there.
- 45:02Speaker 2: Clear out. Clear out. All right, cool. Cool. There we go.
- 45:08Speaker 3: All right, Bo. A lot of good voicemails. Here's our first.
- 45:16Speaker 7: Hey, Bomani, Ian Shearer from Texas, your most favorite town
- 45:21Speaker 7: of Dallas. Just kidding. I'm really originally from back east. Anyway,
- 45:26Speaker 7: question posed to you, man. You talk about no go-to
- 45:29Speaker 7: for Wemba Nyama. What about two words, skyhook? I don't
- 45:34Speaker 7: hear anybody talking about it. Wemba Nyama, skyhook, seems unguardable
- 45:38Speaker 7: to me and would solve the big man versus tall
- 45:41Speaker 7: man thing. Would love your thoughts at some point. Long-time listener.
- 45:45Speaker 7: Love what you do, brother.
- 45:47Speaker 3: Keep it up.
- 45:50Speaker 2: Okay, I can only assume that the Skyhook is harder
- 45:53Speaker 2: than it looks.
- 45:55Speaker 3: To me, it's obviously harder than it looks.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Because nobody's done it.
- 46:01Speaker 3: No one.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Kareem broke out.
- 46:03Speaker 5: The Skyhook 55 years ago, and nobody else is doing it.
- 46:09Speaker 5: I can only assume that it's just way harder than
- 46:13Speaker 5: it looks.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Now, Kareem has also said, nobody has asked me to
- 46:16Speaker 1: work with them on the Skyhook. Now, Kareem, you know
- 46:19Speaker 1: what that's about. People don't like you. Don't nobody want
- 46:23Speaker 1: to hang out with you long enough to have to
- 46:25Speaker 1: try to do this, to try to do this Skyhook.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Hey, hey, hey, I didn't make it that way. Okay.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Did you read the Pearlman book on the Showtime Lakers? Yeah,
- 46:35Speaker 1: I did.
- 46:36Speaker 2: It was a very interesting look at Kareem.
- 46:39Speaker 3: Very clear tough hang.
- 46:41Speaker 2: Yes, that is the best. He didn't seem like a
- 46:43Speaker 2: bad guy.
- 46:44Speaker 3: Just tough hang.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Just a tough hang.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Although I was with Kareem on this. There's a part
- 46:49Speaker 1: in this where they talk about where he had his
- 46:50Speaker 1: last game, the last game of the farewell tour. And look,
- 46:54Speaker 1: everybody was ready for him to go. And he kept playing, honestly,
- 46:57Speaker 1: because he didn't have any money because he got robbed.
- 47:00Speaker 1: But he got real emotional, right? Kareem's not an emotional guy.
- 47:04Speaker 1: He got real emotional about it. Corrine come back to
- 47:08Speaker 1: the locker room and people thought it would be funny
- 47:10Speaker 1: to cut up his jeans. And they're like, Kareem left
- 47:15Speaker 1: and didn't speak to nobody. Of course he didn't left
- 47:17Speaker 1: and didn't speak to anybody. What are you talking about?
- 47:19Speaker 2: Why is that funny?
- 47:21Speaker 3: That's not nice.
- 47:22Speaker 1: What's the joke?
- 47:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:23Speaker 1: Right? Like, what's the punchline in this?
- 47:25Speaker 3: What's the punchline in I have no pants?
- 47:28Speaker 1: I don't know what you're talking about.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Also, do you know how hard it is for Kareem
- 47:32Speaker 3: Abdul-Jabbar to find jeans? Yes, that is correct.
- 47:35Speaker 2: Those jeans cost $ 500. Right?
- 47:37Speaker 1: Just the fabric.
- 47:38Speaker 3: And also, like. I don't think he had two pairs
- 47:42Speaker 3: lying around.
- 47:42Speaker 2: No, no, right. I didn't bring a second pair. Crazy thing.
- 47:47Speaker 1: I would also say this right fast.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Have you been playing 82 and 0?
- 47:49Speaker 3: Yes.
- 47:50Speaker 1: And for people who don't know, it's this game that
- 47:52Speaker 1: lets you pick a player off a team from a
- 47:54Speaker 1: decade and you put together a five-man lineup and it
- 47:56Speaker 1: tells you whether your team is 82 or 0. I've
- 47:58Speaker 1: only gotten 81 and 1, but.
- 48:01Speaker 2: The cheat code is Wilt.
- 48:03Speaker 3: Yes.
- 48:04Speaker 1: If you get either Wilt, either 60s Wilt or 70 Wilt,
- 48:07Speaker 1: that is your cheat code. Ryan, have you ever seen
- 48:11Speaker 1: these clips of Wilt Chamberlain tossing sky hooks?
- 48:15Speaker 3: Yes.
- 48:15Speaker 1: Like where Wilt is guarding Kareem and just tossing.
- 48:18Speaker 2: His sky hooks.
- 48:19Speaker 3: Yeah, it looks like he's playing volleyball.
- 48:21Speaker 2: We have really, really somehow underrated Wilt.
- 48:24Speaker 1: I don't see how it's possible that we talk about
- 48:26Speaker 1: Wilt like Wilt's some kind of loser. When Wilt retired,
- 48:28Speaker 1: the two NBA teams with the best records of all
- 48:30Speaker 1: time had one thing in common.
- 48:32Speaker 3: Wilt.
- 48:33Speaker 2: That is what they had in common.
- 48:35Speaker 1: Wilt.
- 48:37Speaker 3: All right, here's our next one.
- 48:39Speaker 4: Yo, Bahani, Ryan, how y'all doing? So, for a frequent
- 48:45Speaker 4: listener of the show, I feel like Joel from Missouri
- 48:48Speaker 4: City's influence has been more apparent, not just with the callers,
- 48:53Speaker 4: but with.
- 48:53Speaker 3: Guests, too.
- 48:55Speaker 4: It feels like this is the summer of hate. So,
- 48:59Speaker 4: my question to you, I know you're not a hater
- 49:02Speaker 4: in the sense, but there are some people you despise.
- 49:06Speaker 4: Number one, Hall of Fame, being Sugar Belt. But again,
- 49:10Speaker 4: as a lifter, I've been noticing someone's name come up
- 49:14Speaker 4: more and more. And that'd be, he's a dookie, so
- 49:17Speaker 4: I know that adds to it, but he's also a
- 49:19Speaker 4: mild human being. And that's Stephen Miller. Or Stephen, however
- 49:23Speaker 4: he says his name.
- 49:24Speaker 2: You know who I'm talking about.
- 49:25Speaker 4: That, that, he's a whatever. So I gotta ask, has
- 49:28Speaker 4: he stepped up on the list of you people that
- 49:31Speaker 4: you hate? Or is Stephen Miller.
- 49:33Speaker 1: Still number one?
- 49:35Speaker 7: Let us know.
- 49:39Speaker 1: So the thing about where I got with Stringer Bell
- 49:42Speaker 1: is I felt like I had so many opponents that
- 49:45Speaker 1: it required me to rise up.
- 49:47Speaker 2: Stephen Miller is just so easy.
- 49:50Speaker 1: It's just, it's so crazy to me too, that he's
- 49:53Speaker 1: like so much younger than me. And I will say this,
- 49:56Speaker 1: you know, me and Stephen Miller have something in common.
- 49:57Speaker 1: And I think this is an underrated thing about him. Wow,
- 50:00Speaker 1: the look on your face when I said that. Both
- 50:02Speaker 1: of us helped start our careers in part due to
- 50:06Speaker 1: Duke Lacrosse. Like I was living in Durham at the time.
- 50:10Speaker 1: And so like I wrote some articles about it. I
- 50:12Speaker 1: get calls to go on TV about it, you know,
- 50:14Speaker 1: so forth and so on. Stephen Miller was at Duke
- 50:17Speaker 1: at the time. And I don't know how more people
- 50:19Speaker 1: have not talked about this because this is really interesting.
- 50:21Speaker 1: He made a big bet. You can go back and
- 50:23Speaker 1: find him having him on Fox News and stuff like
- 50:25Speaker 1: that at the time. But he made a big bet
- 50:28Speaker 1: that those boys were not guilty and got on TV
- 50:32Speaker 1: and was willing to say it. I don't know what
- 50:34Speaker 1: evidence he did or did not have, but he made
- 50:36Speaker 1: a big bet on that.
- 50:38Speaker 2: And it cashed in.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Like, that's what helps get him to all of these places,
- 50:42Speaker 1: is that he went out there and rode for them
- 50:44Speaker 1: boys in a time where I will say that was
- 50:46Speaker 1: a risky proposition to get out there and do it.
- 50:50Speaker 1: He did it, and it cashed out. And this is
- 50:52Speaker 1: where it's gone. But, like, when that story, when that
- 50:55Speaker 1: first broke out and people were like, well, you know,
- 50:56Speaker 1: they got a town gal situation in Durham, and they
- 50:58Speaker 1: were running all these crazy headlines for the Duke Chronicle,
- 51:01Speaker 1: by Stephen Miller. Like, one of them I remember was
- 51:04Speaker 1: called Welcome to the Durham Petting Zoo by Stephen Miller.
- 51:09Speaker 1: Just in case you're curious, if ever you are looking
- 51:11Speaker 1: for two or three assholes, the editorial page of your
- 51:14Speaker 1: local smarmy private school is right there.
- 51:18Speaker 3: All right, here's our last one. Hey, Bomani.
- 51:21Speaker 6: Love the show. Love the work you and Ryan do.
- 51:24Speaker 6: I just wanted to add to the continuing saga of
- 51:28Speaker 6: white people with names you would not expect. I, as
- 51:32Speaker 6: a fellow white person, this really threw me in for
- 51:34Speaker 6: a whirl, but... I'm working my summer job yesterday, my
- 51:38Speaker 6: first day, and I walked into the warehouse, and I
- 51:41Speaker 6: met Garrett.
- 51:42Speaker 3: He was my supervisor.
- 51:43Speaker 6: He was really nice. And then I go to meet
- 51:46Speaker 6: a middle-aged white woman. I didn't have any expectations, obviously,
- 51:53Speaker 6: but she introduced herself, and I thought I misheard her,
- 51:56Speaker 6: but I got confirmation today. Her name is Lucretia.
- 51:59Speaker 3: I know you said it's always the Luz that.
- 52:04Speaker 6: You don't expect that. Even with that in mind, I
- 52:08Speaker 6: still didn't expect Lucretia. I just wanted to add to
- 52:12Speaker 6: the lore of the show.
- 52:14Speaker 1: Hey, man, nothing like when you got to stop and
- 52:17Speaker 1: be like, I'm sorry, what did you say?
- 52:18Speaker 3: The white on white ones are my favorite of these.
- 52:20Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, yes. I'll tell you, man, when my
- 52:22Speaker 1: homeboy introduced me to his girl, Keisha, and I was like,
- 52:25Speaker 1: I'm sorry, what was that? And she said, Keisha, and
- 52:28Speaker 1: I never saw them again that night. And I've been
- 52:31Speaker 1: telling this story now for years, and my man, who
- 52:33Speaker 1: I know is listening right now, not once has brought
- 52:36Speaker 1: it up to clarify. I deserve to heads up, is
- 52:43Speaker 1: all I'm saying. That's all I'm saying. But ladies and gentlemen,
- 52:47Speaker 1: thanks so much for joining us here on The Right Time.
- 52:49Speaker 1: We do this four days a week. Ryan Brumley handles
- 52:51Speaker 1: everything behind the scenes.
- 52:52Speaker 2: Thank you, sir.

- 52:59Speaker 1: rate us, review us, give us five stars. You only
- 53:01Speaker 1: give us four stars. I'm inclined to believe you are
- 53:03Speaker 1: a hater. We'll talk to you guys in a couple
- 53:04Speaker 1: of days. Take it easy.
