- 0:23Well, hello, and welcome in to another exciting episode of the scene.
- 0:29I am your host Bubba Starts and with me today from the wellness company Melaleuca is
- 0:33executive director Danielle Odom.
- 0:35Danielle, welcome to the show.
- 0:37Thank you so much for having me.
- 0:39You know, I did I owe you a big thank you.
- 0:43Recently came into this company and found it through our good friend, Megan Herwig, and and
- 0:48we've been chatting for the last couple of days here about how we're gonna change lives, not
- 0:53only through the products that you deliver and that we deliver through this company, but the
- 0:59the income that we can do for people like me that, are content creators.
- 1:05So I wanted to start today by just letting you introduce yourself and tell us a little bit
- 1:10about your backstory and your story in Melaleuca.
- 1:14Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:19So I first was introduced to Melaleuca over six years ago.
- 1:25I'm a mom.
- 1:26I have four kids.
- 1:28I was working full time as a registered nurse.
- 1:30My husband's active duty military.
- 1:32And just literally every day, my hair was just on fire.
- 1:37So I was going through some health issues that I did not exactly know what was going on at the
- 1:44time, which soon found out that I had what's called breast implant illness.
- 1:48I had breast implants for many, many years, they were making me sick.
- 1:52My kidneys were failing, I had liver enzymes were elevated and the doctors didn't quite know
- 1:58what was going on.
- 1:59So I was seeking other options.
- 2:00That's when I found natural medicine doctor who said, If it quacks like a duck, it's a duck,
- 2:06like just stop wasting money on all these testing and just get your implants out.
- 2:11And the most profound thing that she did that's absolutely changed my life was introducing me
- 2:17to just plain facts that everyday products and cleaners, you don't know what's in them and you
- 2:26can't trust them.
- 2:27And she identified a handful of harmful ingredients such as bleach, formaldehyde,
- 2:32ammonia.
- 2:34And it really stood out to me, especially being a registered nurse.
- 2:38She's like, Your skin is one of your largest organs and what you put on your skin matters.
- 2:43It absorbs it.
- 2:45And I was using bleach on my clothes and on my sheets.
- 2:49And she's like, Okay, cut that out.
- 2:51She was able to tell that I actually had a overload of bleach in my body.
- 2:55I had adrenal fatigue.
- 2:57I was sleeping all the time, I had headaches and muscle pains.
- 3:01Once I had the implants removed, a lot changed, I worked on detoxing and my friend, she already
- 3:08knew I was doing those things because I was asking those questions on social media.
- 3:11So when she showed me the company, I'm like, heck yeah.
- 3:15I mean, it was so much peace of mind for me because I was the girl standing in the shopping
- 3:20aisle trying to read labels and had no idea what I was looking at.
- 3:23So it's provided so much peace for our family in general with the products.
- 3:28And then over time, I just naturally started sharing it with other people and helping other
- 3:33people set up their shopping accounts.
- 3:34And from there, it has more than blessed our family financially.
- 3:40And and you you touched on something there in your conversations, and not this the implants
- 3:45that are in your body, but the environment that you are creating around you in your own home,
- 3:51not to mention the environmental factors of the outside world.
- 3:55I don't need to get down a chemtrail rabbit hole with you, but just natural the the
- 3:59pollution that's in our cities and around there.
- 4:02I'm very blessed to live in the country.
- 4:03I know you do as well.
- 4:05Not everyone has that clean air or access to clean water that some of us do.
- 4:11So to start with the things that you can control are so important, and the things that
- 4:17you are putting on your skin, in your mouth, around your children, your soaps, your
- 4:23shampoos, all of these things, everything that's sold in the store is some form of
- 4:29poison.
- 4:29They don't care about your health.
- 4:31They care about profit.
- 4:33Can you elaborate just a little bit on a few of the products that you use every day that have
- 4:40really changed that environment in your household?
- 4:44Yeah, absolutely.
- 4:45And I'll reiterate that when people think of wellness and they think of health, they think
- 4:50about the food that they eat, or they need to go on a diet or that they need to exercise when
- 4:54really your environmental wellness plays a huge role in your overall wellness, especially for
- 5:01our children, because no matter what we're exposed to, we have to filter it out.
- 5:05And our body is, you know, greatly designed to do that.
- 5:09But when it's a little bit here, a little bit there, a little bit here, a little bit there,
- 5:12it just really adds up.
- 5:14And for me, it was swapping out all of my home cleaners and laundry detergent and plugins.
- 5:21There were times when I would walk into businesses that I would immediately get a
- 5:27headache or I would feel nauseous because of the Febreze or the Glade or whatever kind of
- 5:31plugin they had in the wall, I was the person that would just remove them.
- 5:36And so now we have made those safe swaps and Melaleuca has made that super simple for us to
- 5:42safely swap the home cleaners, laundry detergent.
- 5:46Laundry detergent is huge for the majority of people.
- 5:51Every day.
- 5:52That's usually one of their first purchases because when their kid is suffering with
- 5:56eczema, asthma, it is the number one thing I coach them to swap.
- 6:03And then going into our everyday body products.
- 6:07So I have two girls that are teenagers, I have four kids.
- 6:10My boys are 11 and 20, and then my teenagers are 13 and 16.
- 6:16And if you have girls, even at the early age of eight and nine, they're obsessed with skincare.
- 6:21I don't know where they learn this at.
- 6:23I mean,
- 6:23I don't know
- 6:25saying.
- 6:25They watch their mommas, Danielle, and they're paying attention to us.
- 6:28So when you're, and not to cut you off, but, I mean, we know those teenage girls, they love
- 6:34products.
- 6:34And if you can start to train your kids on being healthier and to to to use and to care
- 6:43about those things by introducing them to to the right products.
- 6:46And then not just this is what we use because we use it.
- 6:49No, honey.
- 6:50This is why we use these things because those other things are not good for you.
- 6:55And even though they have really fancy advertising and they have all of these things
- 7:00that say they're going to do this or this or this, when you get to the ingredients, they are
- 7:06harming you.
- 7:08Little by little by little, these chemicals that we are putting on ourselves and in
- 7:13ourselves are killing us.
- 7:17Yeah, my youngest, she's 13 and she's very, very aware because she has the sensitive skin,
- 7:23she has the eczema.
- 7:25And so when she uses certain things, her skin will break out, blotchy red rashes burning.
- 7:34And so she even at a young age, before we even shop here, she would tell people, I remember
- 7:39her third birthday, people gave her some like makeup and stuff from the dollar store and she
- 7:43goes, I'm sorry, I can't use this stuff, it burns my skin.
- 7:48And so now she's able to use an affordable option, which for me is way more affordable
- 7:54than buying things at Ulta, but I know that it's clean and her skin, I actually just had
- 8:00somebody come to me and said, Hey, what does your daughter use on her skin?
- 8:04It is so hydrated and plump and glowing.
- 8:07I know she's only 13, but I can tell she's got some type of moisturizer on.
- 8:11And I was able to show them all the different options.
- 8:13I think there's five or six different skincare lines that the store offers for all different
- 8:19skin types.
- 8:19And so just educating my kids and knowing what you're putting on your skin truly does matter.
- 8:26Well, and what is coming out of your skin is what is inside of you.
- 8:30Right?
- 8:30Like, this is your your body is outwardly expressing the stuff that's inside of you.
- 8:36Right?
- 8:36And instead of, you know, addressing the root issues of that, the the mainstream, you know,
- 8:43wellness, thing, right, proactive was huge when I was a kid.
- 8:47Just strip it bare, and you're just gonna put all this astringent on it, and you're gonna use
- 8:52Stridex pads and and OxiClean.
- 8:54Like, what are we doing to our skin when you could probably just, like, you know, drink more
- 9:01water, make sure you're moisturizing with something that isn't harmful to you, and start
- 9:06there.
- 9:07And that is the reason why I know Melaleuca as a as a big company, right?
- 9:11Been around for almost forty years now.
- 9:14Or is it forty years?
- 9:15I I couldn't remember exactly.
- 9:16Yeah.
- 9:17I'm 40.
- 9:17And so I usually say it's just as old as me.
- 9:20And we talk a lot about gut health too.
- 9:23My 16 year old, she does have Instagram and she'll share the things that she's eating and
- 9:29using.
- 9:30And there's a lot of teenage girls that she's been able to minister to and educate on eating
- 9:36habits.
- 9:37And like for her, she knows that dairy is not something that agrees with her.
- 9:42She knows how important gut health is and probiotics and putting the right foods in your
- 9:48body.
- 9:49We have probiotics for kids.
- 9:51It's a yummy pixie stick, strawberry pixie stick probiotic.
- 9:55People that their kids are struggling with behavior issues or just attention span and
- 10:02focus.
- 10:03We have seen huge improvements by just using omega threes and we have one that's for kids
- 10:09that is a tropical smoothie.
- 10:11There's four different flavors and people are seeing incredible results with that with their
- 10:18kids.
- 10:18Right.
- 10:19And while most 13 and 16 year old girls are worried about pimples in their face, your
- 10:27daughters are getting complimented on how good their skin looks and all of these things.
- 10:32And it's not some $400 a month dermatology program that they're putting on.
- 10:39They're literally just putting better stuff inside and onto their body from this company.
- 10:45And that is what instant I just rung my bell.
- 10:47When Megan shared some of her stuff, it instantly resonated with me because Danielle
- 10:52and I and our listeners know from following us that we are trying to live a more active
- 10:59lifestyle.
- 10:59I've lost 50 pounds in the last two years.
- 11:02You know, one was quitting drinking, and I know that we're gonna have a deeper conversation
- 11:06about our alcohol problems, both of us, in the future.
- 11:10That's a that's time for another show, Danielle.
- 11:13But that we work out incessantly.
- 11:15We are in the gym three, four times a week.
- 11:17I am walking two to four miles a day.
- 11:19We are in that, but there's still parts that are missing.
- 11:22And it's because of, you know, the tide that we're washing our clothes in.
- 11:26It's because of the cleaning products that we use because we don't know any better.
- 11:30We just don't know any better.
- 11:31When you know better, you do better.
- 11:33And exactly.
- 11:34And and for me, when I know better, I want to teach better.
- 11:38And that is what's attracted me to the company.
- 11:40It's what has attracted me to you because you are that minister.
- 11:43You are a lighthouse for not just these products.
- 11:47Yes.
- 11:48These products are how we get there, but we want to be better.
- 11:51And we want to make other people better.
- 11:53Oh, and guess what?
- 11:54For you entrepreneurial minded folks out there that want to break free from the matrix of the
- 12:02everyday nine to five, let these people steal your time from you, We can also offer you a way
- 12:08that not only can you probably get your products at a much lower rate through bonuses
- 12:13and things, but that you can really turn around and start making some money from this company
- 12:18as well.
- 12:19And, we're gonna invite people to another conversation that we're going to have and to
- 12:23some live Zooms that we're gonna link in the comments to to get into that conversation.
- 12:29It's too much to share here, and I wouldn't ask you to spill the tea for free out here.
- 12:34We want you to come in and have a deeper conversation with us and not us preaching to
- 12:38you.
- 12:39We want you in the conversation so that you can ask questions and feel free to communicate with
- 12:45both of us as I learn more here that, we wanna change your life, and we wanna help you change
- 12:51the lives of people in your community as well.
- 12:56Yeah, absolutely.
- 12:57And it's something for everyone.
- 13:00I tell people all the time it doesn't need to look like what I do, right?
- 13:04When I started doing this I
- 13:05was I'm excited about the coffee.
- 13:07Yeah, organic coffee.
- 13:09I mean, when I started, I was working twelve hour shifts as a nurse commuting forty five
- 13:13minutes back and forth with all four of my kids in sports and different schools and all
- 13:19different age levels from elementary, middle and high school.
- 13:22And I was able to do this in the nooks and crannies of my day.
- 13:26It just came up naturally in a conversation.
- 13:29And from there, it grew into so much more that when I had to make a decision to make a change
- 13:37and pivot in my life.
- 13:39My kid was not doing well in school after COVID and the tutor asked me to homeschool him.
- 13:44I was able to leave that salary at the snap of my fingers and just leave knowing that I could
- 13:53step into the role of being a full time mom.
- 13:56And also Melaleuca had my back.
- 13:59I had that residual income coming in that I had built.
- 14:02And I was also able to step on the gas and accelerate that paycheck so much more, almost
- 14:08tenfold in just a couple months to be able to still provide, but also I was able to be mom
- 14:15first.
- 14:17Incredible conversation today, Danielle.
- 14:20I really appreciate you jumping on and sharing your testimony, and I I invite everyone to jump
- 14:26on with us on some of our Zooms.
- 14:28You guys follow us.
- 14:30You you see me all the time.
- 14:31You've seen my journey.
- 14:33You know my testimony personally, and this is the next step in in my evolution, not just as a
- 14:39as a business person, but as a human being.
- 14:42Right?
- 14:42And I think that's the great part about this company and and why I'm so excited to to not
- 14:47just get in and cannonball in myself, but to let everyone else know that the pool is open
- 14:52too.
- 14:53Yeah.
- 14:54We're ready to go.
- 14:55Danielle, thank you so much for being a part of my life, and thanks for being part of the
