- 2:26Speaker 5: Kenan County Commission President Ben Selango. How you doing, my friend?
- 2:28Speaker 5: Good morning, doing well? How much stuff? I am doing fine?
- 2:31Speaker 5: Thank you for being here. Quick story that I mentioned yesterday,
- 2:35Speaker 5: I thought, Ben, that was kind of funny. Someone incorrectly
- 2:39Speaker 5: stated on the Metro News social media page that you
- 2:42Speaker 5: were the owner of Metro News. So you're saying, now
- 2:46Speaker 5: that's not the case. You mean someone posted something on
- 2:49Speaker 5: social media that isn't true. Well, impossible, It has never happened.
- 2:54Speaker 5: It happens from time to.
- 2:55Speaker 6: I'm not the owner, but I did. When you said
- 2:57Speaker 6: that to me, my response was, I'm giving all of
- 3:00Speaker 6: my Metro News employees a fifty percent pay raise, except
- 3:04Speaker 6: I have no Metro News employees.
- 3:06Speaker 5: So it's it's a good idea in theory. Now, it
- 3:08Speaker 5: was a mistake somebody made that. They they thought that
- 3:11Speaker 5: the that you are the owner.
- 3:13Speaker 6: I used to be a shareholder in HD Media, and
- 3:15Speaker 6: I think that was the confusion. And then when I
- 3:17Speaker 6: ran for governor in twenty nineteen, I divested of my shares.
- 3:21Speaker 5: So you had enough of media and that's a few
- 3:23Speaker 5: short years, right, Yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 6: Yeah, Well, you know, my growing up, my parents had
- 3:26Speaker 6: a little small They had this little advertising paper down
- 3:29Speaker 6: in Rowley County covered all the southern West Virginia, and
- 3:31Speaker 6: so yeah, they used to my mom used to type
- 3:34Speaker 6: that up on a type like back in the day
- 3:36Speaker 6: before their computer. She would type it up on a
- 3:37Speaker 6: typewriter and then we would just basically copy it and
- 3:41Speaker 6: then circulated all over southern West Virginia. So I was
- 3:44Speaker 6: I was involved in that, you know, long before. I
- 3:48Speaker 6: used to go and deliver papers and do all that
- 3:50Speaker 6: when I was you know, seven years old, all right,
- 3:53Speaker 6: and you had enough of it then you said I
- 3:54Speaker 6: was doing with this and I'm not doing this ever.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Ain. Okay, they're working on the lights in the studio here,
- 3:59Speaker 5: just so you know, I mean people at home, it
- 4:02Speaker 5: doesn't affect at all. But just so you know, Benzelango
- 4:05Speaker 5: is completely in the dark. I'm always in the dark,
- 4:07Speaker 5: but you're really in the dark right now. I'm going
- 4:10Speaker 5: to presume that you're over there. I'm here some way,
- 4:12Speaker 5: all right. So, uh, I did want to have a
- 4:18Speaker 5: little fun with that. And also I didn't want to
- 4:20Speaker 5: bring up the fact that Sunday was brutal for US
- 4:22Speaker 5: Cowboys fans, was it not? You know, the know the
- 4:25Speaker 5: bad part about football.
- 4:26Speaker 6: So I'm a w Mountaineer fan, and I went to
- 4:28Speaker 6: school there undergrad in law school, and then I'm a
- 4:30Speaker 6: Cowboys fan. And so you go the week before W
- 4:34Speaker 6: beats Pitt, the Cowboys beat the Giants, and I'm having
- 4:38Speaker 6: a great week, like I could not be in a
- 4:40Speaker 6: better mood. And then fast forward and the Mountaineers lose
- 4:44Speaker 6: and the Cowboys lose. So it's it's tough to be
- 4:48Speaker 6: a Cowboy and a Mountaineer fan.
- 4:49Speaker 5: Well, here's what I would suggest to you. Instead of
- 4:51Speaker 5: buying Metro News, how about you buy the Cowboys a
- 4:54Speaker 5: secondary That would be really good because that one pass
- 4:57Speaker 5: and you and I were texting during the game about
- 4:59Speaker 5: this one pass that Caleb Williamshore on the fleet flicker,
- 5:02Speaker 5: which I think was in the second quarter, got caught
- 5:04Speaker 5: it out of there like a punt return. I mean
- 5:06Speaker 5: it was like he was just standing around waiting on it.
- 5:08Speaker 5: I mean there was nobody within like the thirty yards
- 5:12Speaker 5: of him. And that's the kind of that's the kind
- 5:13Speaker 5: of balls that players drop because it is so easy.
- 5:16Speaker 5: I think I could have run that route. I mean
- 5:18Speaker 5: it now, CD, he's going to be out four to
- 5:20Speaker 5: six weeks and so on and so forth. Sertainly, Yeah,
- 5:22Speaker 5: it's not it's not going to be a good it's
- 5:24Speaker 5: not going to be a good season. All right, Let's
- 5:26Speaker 5: talk to something, talk about something a little bit more
- 5:28Speaker 5: positive politics, No boy, no, uh no, Actually I did
- 5:31Speaker 5: want to ask you. There's something that I've heard a
- 5:34Speaker 5: little bit about the Canawa County Law Enforcement Training Center.
- 5:37Speaker 5: So you're saying I might finally get that opportunity to
- 5:40Speaker 5: be a cop, now, yeah, well we hope. So I'd
- 5:43Speaker 5: love you to go out there and try it. If
- 5:44Speaker 5: it's a fifty five year old cops, there's a big
- 5:47Speaker 5: market for them. Hey, if you can need the job.
- 5:50Speaker 6: So the so what we've done, we've been working on
- 5:52Speaker 6: this for a couple of years, you know, commission Wheeler
- 5:53Speaker 6: and I now Commissioner Tenant, and we've been working with
- 5:56Speaker 6: Sheriff Crawford.
- 5:57Speaker 7: Uh.
- 5:58Speaker 6: Right now, the shooting range at Camp can Vergel Tate
- 6:01Speaker 6: is in disrepair. In fact, I think it's it's probably
- 6:05Speaker 6: unsafe parts of it because there's a slip that's happening.
- 6:09Speaker 6: So you've got part of the shooting range it's kind
- 6:10Speaker 6: of falling over the hill. Not a good idea to,
- 6:13Speaker 6: you know, have weapons and slide over hill gun but
- 6:16Speaker 6: what could go wrong? So we've been looking at creating
- 6:20Speaker 6: a new it's gonna be more than a shooting range.
- 6:22Speaker 6: We're gonna call the the Kenaw County Law Enforcement Training
- 6:24Speaker 6: Center because there's a lot more than just target practice
- 6:27Speaker 6: that goes on out there. So we are going in.
- 6:29Speaker 6: We're gonna vote on this Thursday. I'm very optimistic that
- 6:32Speaker 6: it will pass. It's gonna be about a two million
- 6:34Speaker 6: dollar facility and it's gonna have a three hundred yard
- 6:38Speaker 6: long gun range.
- 6:40Speaker 5: Right now, we're.
- 6:40Speaker 6: Captain about one hundred two hundred and fifty yards, So
- 6:43Speaker 6: we're gonna put in a three hundred yard long gun
- 6:45Speaker 6: range and we're gonna put in a covered not completely indoor,
- 6:48Speaker 6: but a covered pistol range and also where our deputies
- 6:53Speaker 6: and another other law enforced maage that can go out
- 6:55Speaker 6: and train in real type scenarios. We're gonna we'll bring
- 6:59Speaker 6: cars out. We actually do have a car out there
- 7:02Speaker 6: now and we substitute the windshields out, so you've got
- 7:04Speaker 6: they will train shooting from outside into a car and
- 7:08Speaker 6: from inside the car. You know, sometimes these deputies have
- 7:11Speaker 6: to in law enforce, have to shoot the inside their
- 7:12Speaker 6: own car. Yeah, that changes the tradectory of the bullets.
- 7:15Speaker 6: That changes everything. So they practice it. And we've got
- 7:18Speaker 6: a we've got a contractor in agreement with a local
- 7:20Speaker 6: windshield company. When they replace a windshield and there's a crack,
- 7:23Speaker 6: they bring it over and we put it into the
- 7:26Speaker 6: car and that's how they train. We'll be able to
- 7:28Speaker 6: do that in a covered setting. Now it's going to
- 7:31Speaker 6: be a lot better. So we'll be able to have
- 7:34Speaker 6: more agencies training. We've got about forty two agencies. People
- 7:38Speaker 6: don't know this, like agencies from all over the Kinwall
- 7:41Speaker 6: County to train the FBI trains there. I'm looking at
- 7:43Speaker 6: the news now, Ice, you know, got some issues.
- 7:45Speaker 5: Ice right now. They train there.
- 7:47Speaker 6: We've got a lot of agencies that come out there,
- 7:49Speaker 6: a lot of municipalities come out. So this is this
- 7:52Speaker 6: is going to be great. We're going to have it's
- 7:54Speaker 6: going to be an upgraded facility and part of it
- 7:57Speaker 6: will be covered uh. And that's the that's what's going
- 8:00Speaker 6: to be on the agenda, and you're going to vote
- 8:02Speaker 6: on this on Thursday night. Will vote on Thursday, and
- 8:04Speaker 6: we think it's gonna be about two million dollars. We're
- 8:06Speaker 6: hoping that we're hoping that we can avoid as many
- 8:11Speaker 6: uh to put it in the new parts in the
- 8:13Speaker 6: places that where there aren't slips. Okay, because anytime you
- 8:17Speaker 6: start dealing with uh, you know, retaining walls and concrete
- 8:21Speaker 6: to a certain extent on that price goes way up.
- 8:23Speaker 6: But it is you know, that area does get a
- 8:25Speaker 6: lot of water. It's kind of in a valley, so
- 8:27Speaker 6: you're gonna have to deal with that. But that's that's
- 8:29Speaker 6: what we're looking.
- 8:30Speaker 5: And explain exactly where it is again in case people
- 8:32Speaker 5: to dem.
- 8:32Speaker 6: Virgil tastes currently at the at the shooting range, you know,
- 8:35Speaker 6: they go out there and they train for different scenarios.
- 8:38Speaker 6: We have a I call it a house, but it's
- 8:40Speaker 6: not really a house. It's like, you know, a concrete
- 8:42Speaker 6: structure that has rooms insides. So law enforcement can go
- 8:46Speaker 6: and train as if they're inside of a house. And
- 8:48Speaker 6: one of the things that I am hoping to do
- 8:52Speaker 6: is maybe at some point we can open up certain
- 8:54Speaker 6: times to the public, like for paintball or for youth
- 9:00Speaker 6: training classes. I'd love to be able to have some
- 9:02Speaker 6: of the law enforcement train kids on proper shooting technique,
- 9:06Speaker 6: proper handling of weapons, you know, the things that you know.
- 9:10Speaker 6: I grew up my dad teaching me. You know, you
- 9:13Speaker 6: never point a gun, you know, always pointed in a
- 9:14Speaker 6: safe direction, those types of things. You only shoot when
- 9:16Speaker 6: you know exactly what you shoot, those types of things.
- 9:18Speaker 6: Maybe we can do that at this facility. I can't
- 9:21Speaker 6: tell it'll do our schools.
- 9:23Speaker 5: And again I'm I don't have kids, so I'm kind
- 9:25Speaker 5: of ignorant on this.
- 9:26Speaker 8: Do it.
- 9:26Speaker 5: Do our schools have shooting teams? I mean because I
- 9:29Speaker 5: know some schools do I know?
- 9:30Speaker 6: And I think there are archery teams, but aware of
- 9:34Speaker 6: you know, Western University obviously, well they're one of the
- 9:36Speaker 6: best in the in the nation. Year after year won
- 9:38Speaker 6: the national championship again, I think like twenty years or something.
- 9:41Speaker 5: We want it. But could this be a facility, Commissioner,
- 9:44Speaker 5: Could this be a facility that maybe you mentioned the
- 9:46Speaker 5: WVU rifle program that maybe they could have a meet
- 9:50Speaker 5: oh down there at some point.
- 9:52Speaker 6: I think at the three hundred yard level in particular,
- 9:54Speaker 6: we'll be able to do things like that. And I'm
- 9:56Speaker 6: not familiar with you know, that's that's like a different level. Sure, yeah,
- 10:00Speaker 6: I go out, you know, I typically go down to
- 10:02Speaker 6: Knaw State Forest and shoot. But this is this is
- 10:05Speaker 6: something that I think will bring other agencies in to
- 10:10Speaker 6: stay in Kanaw County and train there. But I also
- 10:14Speaker 6: want to do everything we can to make it more
- 10:16Speaker 6: accessible to the public. I mean, obviously we can have
- 10:19Speaker 6: I don't want law enforcement out their training while the publicsher. Yeah,
- 10:22Speaker 6: but we want to be able to try to open
- 10:24Speaker 6: this up to the extent we can so people can
- 10:27Speaker 6: come out. Particularly I want to focus on training youth.
- 10:31Speaker 5: So if the Commission passes this on Thursday evening and
- 10:36Speaker 5: during the meeting, you're very hopeful that that will be passed.
- 10:38Speaker 5: Do you have any idea of a time frame yet?
- 10:41Speaker 6: I mean, well, lsely, Yeah, the first thing we'll do
- 10:43Speaker 6: is we'll get a We'll get a very comprehensive design together.
- 10:46Speaker 6: I mean, I kind of we we know generally what
- 10:49Speaker 6: it's going to look like in our heads, but we
- 10:50Speaker 6: want to make sure that that smarter people than us
- 10:52Speaker 6: go in and do the design. And then we'll need
- 10:57Speaker 6: some We'll need to clear you know, about three hundred
- 10:59Speaker 6: yards for the new long gun range, and I think
- 11:03Speaker 6: that that's going to take a little bit of time,
- 11:04Speaker 6: but my goal is to have it done within a year.
- 11:07Speaker 6: We have the fund set aside. Obviously, we're going to
- 11:09Speaker 6: apply for some grants because we've got a lot of
- 11:11Speaker 6: federal agencies that use this facility.
- 11:13Speaker 5: Hopefully they'll be willing to chip in. Uh So, I mean,
- 11:16Speaker 5: I don't know why. If they've got the funds, I
- 11:17Speaker 5: don't know why they wouldn't because it's just going to
- 11:19Speaker 5: be a win win for everybody. I think so too.
- 11:20Speaker 5: But and I think they will. But you know, so far,
- 11:23Speaker 5: we haven't asked.
- 11:23Speaker 6: But what we've done is we've earmarked or we will
- 11:26Speaker 6: earmark some money even if we don't get any contributions,
- 11:29Speaker 6: because I want to make sure that the Kenawha County
- 11:32Speaker 6: Deputies and all of our municipalities can use it and
- 11:35Speaker 6: go out there and train, and I think they're going
- 11:37Speaker 6: to be I think they're really going to like this
- 11:39Speaker 6: new facility. It's going to be much safer, it's going
- 11:41Speaker 6: to be covered, it'll just be much much better.
- 11:45Speaker 5: Talking with Kenawa County Commission, President of Binsi Lango, a
- 11:47Speaker 5: Dave Island show on five eighty Live is brought to
- 11:49Speaker 5: you apart but Live Healthy West Virginia presented by WVU Medicine.
- 11:52Speaker 5: It's a podcast promoting healthier lifestyles and to be on
- 11:54Speaker 5: the state Jack have a latest episodes wv metronews dot
- 11:57Speaker 5: com under the podcast menu. All right, so lots going
- 12:00Speaker 5: on in the county. First fall clean up happened last
- 12:03Speaker 5: week at the old Hoover High School, and I think
- 12:06Speaker 5: the next one's going to be in South Charleston coming
- 12:07Speaker 5: up in October.
- 12:08Speaker 6: Yeah, before our fall cleanups are probably I mean, people
- 12:11Speaker 6: wait in line to bring things out there. And we
- 12:14Speaker 6: started doing that years ago because we noticed that if
- 12:18Speaker 6: you don't collect the tires, if you don't collect the
- 12:20Speaker 6: you know, the various things, that they end up in
- 12:22Speaker 6: creeks and they end up in culverts. And so we
- 12:25Speaker 6: started doing that and it's been very, very successful, and
- 12:30Speaker 6: so we're going to continue doing that as long as
- 12:31Speaker 6: we can. There's the cost of it is going up significantly,
- 12:35Speaker 6: but we want to keep doing that because that's how
- 12:37Speaker 6: we keep you know, thousands and thousands of tires out
- 12:40Speaker 6: of creeks and rivers.
- 12:41Speaker 5: Yeah. What else is going on in the world of
- 12:44Speaker 5: County Commission business? I had somebody ask me, Now, I
- 12:46Speaker 5: know this is more of a City of Charleston thing,
- 12:48Speaker 5: but you guys are you know, I mean, you guys
- 12:49Speaker 5: work hand in hand and things. I had somebody in
- 12:51Speaker 5: the office asked me today if you've heard anything about
- 12:53Speaker 5: the municipal Auditorium.
- 12:56Speaker 6: Uh no, and that is squarely within the city. Yeah,
- 12:58Speaker 6: you know, I think I've chatted with the mayor once
- 13:00Speaker 6: or twice a minute, but it's not something that the
- 13:02Speaker 6: county deals with.
- 13:04Speaker 5: But I know that, you know that.
- 13:06Speaker 6: The good thing is we've got a good mayor that
- 13:07Speaker 6: thinks about this stuff all the time. It's not like
- 13:09Speaker 6: she's ever she ever turns her brain off. She's the
- 13:13Speaker 6: one that will wake up at two am with an
- 13:15Speaker 6: idea and then call or text somebody and I'll go say,
- 13:17Speaker 6: then call somebody tell yeah, and you know she's out
- 13:20Speaker 6: all the time. I tell this story. I dropped my
- 13:23Speaker 6: car off at Firestone to get an old change, and
- 13:25Speaker 6: it was like, I always always get to work early.
- 13:27Speaker 6: I'm usually in the work in the office by six
- 13:29Speaker 6: or six thirty. But I dropped my car off around
- 13:31Speaker 6: five forty five and I was walking down Capitol Street
- 13:34Speaker 6: and it was raining, it was dark, and this person yelled.
- 13:38Speaker 5: Commissioner's a line go.
- 13:40Speaker 6: I was like, oh boy, here we go. This is
- 13:41Speaker 6: where I eat, this is where I meet my end.
- 13:44Speaker 6: And uh, the lady comes running up to me and
- 13:47Speaker 6: it was the mayor and she was out with her
- 13:49Speaker 6: with the CARES team, talking to people, talking to some
- 13:53Speaker 6: of the folks that are on the street, trying to
- 13:54Speaker 6: figure out where they're from, getting family information, trying to
- 13:57Speaker 6: reunite them with their families. But she goes out and
- 14:00Speaker 6: does that and I offered her an umbrella and she
- 14:03Speaker 6: said no, and then she ran and disappeared into the darkness.
- 14:06Speaker 6: You know, so she is she is a hands on are.
- 14:09Speaker 5: She was actually there. She was there unless I was elusive.
- 14:13Speaker 5: It was early, all right, mister. Anything on Capital Sports
- 14:17Speaker 5: Complex always it's the it's the obligatory question.
- 14:20Speaker 6: Yeah, so I you know what, I check my email
- 14:22Speaker 6: every single day hoping that we get in Dearbark and
- 14:25Speaker 6: we've put in a request. The city has and the
- 14:27Speaker 6: county has.
- 14:28Speaker 5: Uh.
- 14:28Speaker 6: I know that our US senators know how important this is.
- 14:32Speaker 6: You know, Senator Capital, she's been she's been great with
- 14:35Speaker 6: Knawk County and Senator Justice as a Senator and also
- 14:39Speaker 6: as governor has he gets he gets what we're trying
- 14:42Speaker 6: to do. He understands it. But that doesn't mean it
- 14:44Speaker 6: can always happen. You know, even if they put in
- 14:46Speaker 6: their quest, even if they argue for it or fight
- 14:48Speaker 6: for it, it doesn't always happen because you're dealing with
- 14:50Speaker 6: forty nine other states and everybody wants something right. So, uh,
- 14:54Speaker 6: we're optimistic. So we're just kind of watching it. I
- 14:57Speaker 6: think if that's kind of the final piece of the puzzle.
- 15:00Speaker 6: But if it doesn't happen this year, perhaps it happens
- 15:02Speaker 6: next year. But we're going to keep fighting for it,
- 15:04Speaker 6: keep trying to make it happen. Ultimately, before I die,
- 15:07Speaker 6: the place is going to be there.
- 15:09Speaker 5: Okay, Well, and I hope it's not at the hands
- 15:11Speaker 5: of a of a figure at five thirty in the
- 15:14Speaker 5: right on Capitol Street. You want to stick around and
- 15:17Speaker 5: help Stephanie work on the lights? Absolutely? Uh, you're you're
- 15:20Speaker 5: you're a handy guy. I can't even program. I try.
- 15:23Speaker 6: I had to call my son the other day because
- 15:24Speaker 6: my remote control on the TV stopped working, and so
- 15:28Speaker 6: now I just go to YouTube or chat GPT. Okay,
- 15:30Speaker 6: and I figured it out. You let me take a
- 15:32Speaker 6: picture of that on chat GPT and ask it how
- 15:33Speaker 6: to fix it.
- 15:35Speaker 5: Well, they're working on it, because then it's gone because
- 15:36Speaker 5: this show is not on camera. So now it's the
- 15:38Speaker 5: time they have to work right now where they work
- 15:40Speaker 5: on it. So I don't know that one. I think anger.
- 15:42Speaker 5: I think we can fry bacon under that one. It's
- 15:45Speaker 5: all the soft lighting I can get. I'm getting old,

- 19:12Speaker 5: along with Cavita Board President. How you doing, mister Cavender?
- 19:15Speaker 12: Well was there?
- 19:16Speaker 5: How you been? I'm doing fine, mister Arbagast. Welcome to
- 19:18Speaker 5: the showing.
- 19:18Speaker 8: Thank you for having me.
- 19:19Speaker 5: Mike and I go back a few years when I
- 19:23Speaker 5: was in state government. I used to go to South
- 19:24Speaker 5: Charleston High School and do voter registration drives. Okay, so
- 19:28Speaker 5: big on that, big, very big on that, very big
- 19:31Speaker 5: on that. All right. So I'm gonna start with you,
- 19:32Speaker 5: and then Rick, I'm gonna bring you in to talk
- 19:33Speaker 5: about some things some other things on the board, and
- 19:35Speaker 5: you can jump in at anytime. So you've been around
- 19:38Speaker 5: the school system, Mike for a while now, yes, sir,
- 19:42Speaker 5: forty years.
- 19:44Speaker 13: That's hard to believe that I actually got hired when
- 19:46Speaker 13: I was nineteen years old as a teacher aide, and
- 19:47Speaker 13: I worked myself through college at night and went in
- 19:51Speaker 13: summertime finally graduate and started teaching and coaching at the
- 19:54Speaker 13: Dunbar Junior High School and eventually went to South Charleston
- 19:57Speaker 13: High School as a basketball coach and golf coach and
- 20:00Speaker 13: thought there in nineteen ninety came an athletic director there,
- 20:05Speaker 13: vice principal, and then finally principal of school in two
- 20:08Speaker 13: thousand and seven, and stayed there till twenty eighteen.
- 20:11Speaker 5: So what was it that made you want to go
- 20:13Speaker 5: into education to begin with? And your story is really
- 20:16Speaker 5: unique because as you said you started as a as
- 20:18Speaker 5: an aide and worked your way up. What was it
- 20:21Speaker 5: that appealed to you about education in general?
- 20:24Speaker 13: You know, it's funny you say that, because I can
- 20:27Speaker 13: remember being in sixth grade, believe it or not, and
- 20:30Speaker 13: Missus Dodd's class. I remember her vividly. She was a
- 20:33Speaker 13: great influential teacher for me. But I remember it was
- 20:35Speaker 13: pouring the snow outside and I felt so warm and
- 20:38Speaker 13: safe in there, and I thought, you know, what, I'd
- 20:41Speaker 13: really like to be a teacher. And then, of course
- 20:44Speaker 13: I was an athlete, not a great athlete, but I
- 20:46Speaker 13: played sports and I wanted to get into coaching. And
- 20:49Speaker 13: I think lastly, my father was a principal in knaw
- 20:53Speaker 13: Kay schools. He was principal at Nitro High School in
- 20:55Speaker 13: later Dunbar Junior High School. And my mom was an
- 20:58Speaker 13: elementary teacher. She ended up getting lafoma in her thirties
- 21:03Speaker 13: when I was seven years old, and she passed early.
- 21:05Speaker 13: But so education has been always in my life, that background,
- 21:10Speaker 13: and I have no regrets. I have enjoyed every day
- 21:14Speaker 13: of my career and building relationships with kids and teachers,
- 21:19Speaker 13: and I enjoy I've enjoyed to write was.
- 21:22Speaker 5: Being on the board something that you maybe as when
- 21:25Speaker 5: you were a teacher or you know, when you were
- 21:28Speaker 5: in the system and you thought, well, maybe this is
- 21:30Speaker 5: something i'd like to do. What made you make that decision?
- 21:33Speaker 8: Yeah, you know, not really I never had that thought before.
- 21:37Speaker 8: I'm not a politician.
- 21:38Speaker 13: I'm an educator, you know, I had said one and
- 21:43Speaker 13: Tracy was one of my parents, and I think she's
- 21:46Speaker 13: a great person. I've known her and Jerry for a
- 21:47Speaker 13: long time because I had the kids in school. And
- 21:51Speaker 13: she's not replaceable.
- 21:53Speaker 5: You said that in a quote I read from you.
- 21:54Speaker 5: You said, I'm not replacing Tracy White.
- 21:56Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 21:56Speaker 13: She she's you know, she's her own person. I'm my
- 21:59Speaker 13: own person. I have a great deal respect for Tracy,
- 22:01Speaker 13: and like say, I think the world of her. But
- 22:03Speaker 13: you know, I got several phone calls saying, you know,
- 22:06Speaker 13: you might be ideal for this, and I've seen on
- 22:08Speaker 13: social media where people said, hey, it's a conflict of
- 22:10Speaker 13: interest because he's in education, and I thought, why would
- 22:13Speaker 13: you not want an educator on the board of education.
- 22:15Speaker 8: You know, I'm going to be on a learning curve.
- 22:18Speaker 13: I get that I'm going to have to depend heavily
- 22:21Speaker 13: on Rick and the other board members to help guide
- 22:23Speaker 13: me through what's going on. But I do understand procedure
- 22:28Speaker 13: and processes of the Board of Education because I've been
- 22:31Speaker 13: in the trenches for so long, and I feel like
- 22:34Speaker 13: I want to be able to come in and compliment
- 22:36Speaker 13: what these people are doing. Personally, I think we have
- 22:38Speaker 13: a good Board of education right now in Knaucay Schools,
- 22:41Speaker 13: and I have continued to pay attention to that, you know,
- 22:44Speaker 13: after retirement. I think they've been financially responsible. They've had
- 22:48Speaker 13: to make tough decisions.
- 22:49Speaker 8: I get it.
- 22:50Speaker 13: We got a client enrollment funding is different, the formula
- 22:53Speaker 13: changes all the time, and I think they've made great hires.
- 22:56Speaker 8: And I think the world of doctor Potter. She was
- 22:58Speaker 8: my vice principal when I.
- 23:00Speaker 13: Say, athletic director at South charlest and so I had
- 23:03Speaker 13: a working relationship with her as well.
- 23:06Speaker 5: Rick, let me bring you in, Rick cavantur Uh, the
- 23:08Speaker 5: president of the Canoa County Board of Education. What do
- 23:10Speaker 5: you see in this gall out of here?
- 23:12Speaker 12: Well, you know, Mike or Mike, this is Mike your day,
- 23:14Speaker 12: Dave Still, I haven't had coffee yet, and the plus
- 23:17Speaker 12: it's it's the like.
- 23:20Speaker 5: No, no, no, David.
- 23:20Speaker 12: So you know, what is really important for a really
- 23:23Speaker 12: well rounded board of education in any county is that
- 23:26Speaker 12: the members represent a diverse background. And it is as
- 23:32Speaker 12: just as important as it is to have educators on
- 23:34Speaker 12: the board, it's important to have other perspectives. Or right
- 23:37Speaker 12: now we have an attorney on the board, we have
- 23:40Speaker 12: someone in social work, we have a former educator. Now
- 23:43Speaker 12: we have another former educator.
- 23:45Speaker 7: Uh.
- 23:45Speaker 12: And of course I've been in the nonprofit sector for
- 23:47Speaker 12: the past eight and whatever it is that you do,
- 23:49Speaker 12: whatever it is that I do every day. Yeah, yeah,
- 23:51Speaker 12: but business development is really easy, you know my focus.
- 23:55Speaker 12: But you know, from my perspective, it's really important that
- 24:00Speaker 12: we have that, as Mike just pointed out, that person
- 24:04Speaker 12: who has been in the trenches for so long, who
- 24:06Speaker 12: understands the system itself here in Kannall County, who has
- 24:08Speaker 12: already built all those really important relationships over the past
- 24:12Speaker 12: forty years and understands the challenges, understands the successes and
- 24:17Speaker 12: the ins and outs of the system. And so, you know,
- 24:20Speaker 12: when we were going through this process, you know, it
- 24:23Speaker 12: became really evident quickly that you know, Mike was definitely
- 24:26Speaker 12: the best choice for what we need right now here
- 24:28Speaker 12: in Kannall County.
- 24:30Speaker 5: If you're wondering why Dale Cooper sending beside you, he's
- 24:32Speaker 5: he's playing he's playing a model right now because they're
- 24:35Speaker 5: working on the lights and they needed a body that's
- 24:37Speaker 5: set there, and so they go to management and find
- 24:40Speaker 5: somebody that wasn't doing anything. Yeah, I'm kiddy. It's the
- 24:42Speaker 5: hardest working man in Oh I know here. I've done, kiddy.
- 24:45Speaker 5: And plus he's my boss. Yeah, so I have to
- 24:47Speaker 5: say that.
- 24:48Speaker 14: I have to.
- 24:48Speaker 5: We're obligated. So let Michael, let me let me go
- 24:51Speaker 5: back to you just for a moment. What's uh when
- 24:54Speaker 5: you you were named in this position Monday evening and
- 24:57Speaker 5: that's that's when your name was brought up and you
- 25:00Speaker 5: are officially now on the board.
- 25:01Speaker 8: Right, Well, I have to be sworn.
- 25:03Speaker 5: I got to be sworn in, Okay, so that's got
- 25:04Speaker 5: to happen. Yes, all right, But what are some of
- 25:07Speaker 5: your areas of focus going to be? I always asked political.
- 25:10Speaker 5: I know you said you're not a politician, but I
- 25:11Speaker 5: always ask political.
- 25:12Speaker 8: Okay.
- 25:12Speaker 5: I always ask political people like what's the thing you
- 25:14Speaker 5: want to hit the ground running on? And of course
- 25:17Speaker 5: you have to work within the confines of the other
- 25:19Speaker 5: board members and the superintendent as well, But everybody's always
- 25:23Speaker 5: got something that's well. I'd like to see if we
- 25:24Speaker 5: can get something done about this, And is there certain
- 25:27Speaker 5: certain areas that you're looking at, Mike.
- 25:29Speaker 8: I'm all about kids, have been my whole life.
- 25:32Speaker 13: I think we need to continue to focus on providing
- 25:35Speaker 13: a world class education for our students. They're going to
- 25:38Speaker 13: be contributors in society. Wants to get out of high
- 25:40Speaker 13: school and continue to build those relationships. I'm a great
- 25:46Speaker 13: supporter of teachers. I have seen the most talented people
- 25:52Speaker 13: that I've ever met in my life that are in
- 25:54Speaker 13: schools teaching. They didn't do this to get rich, you know.
- 25:57Speaker 13: In the criticism they take sometimes as unfair because there
- 26:02Speaker 13: are really great teachers out there, all of them perfect.
- 26:04Speaker 8: No they're not. I'm not perfect.
- 26:06Speaker 13: I made tons of mistakes during my tenure as a
- 26:09Speaker 13: teacher and coach and a principal, but some of them
- 26:12Speaker 13: need to be brought along.
- 26:13Speaker 8: I get that.
- 26:15Speaker 13: But here again, I think a focus on what we're
- 26:19Speaker 13: doing in the classrooms to prepare our students for an
- 26:23Speaker 13: ever changing world is greatly important.
- 26:27Speaker 8: I also think that.
- 26:32Speaker 13: I personally want our kids not only to be contributors
- 26:35Speaker 13: to society. But I want them to have success and
- 26:38Speaker 13: enjoy life. And I used to tell my kids at
- 26:40Speaker 13: the high school that all time, not everybody's going to
- 26:43Speaker 13: be an attorney or a doctor, but you can still
- 26:46Speaker 13: find your niche pursue that, pursue your dreams, pursue your passion,
- 26:51Speaker 13: and here again pursue happiness in life.
- 26:54Speaker 5: Talking again with Mike Harvergast, who's the new member will
- 26:56Speaker 5: be when he's officially sworn in on the Canon County
- 26:58Speaker 5: Board of Education also board presient and it Rick Cabinder
- 27:01Speaker 5: is here. Mike and Rick you can win in on
- 27:03Speaker 5: this as well. It's it's been a difficult not just
- 27:06Speaker 5: in Kanawa County, but across the state of West Virginia
- 27:08Speaker 5: and really across the country. It's difficult times, uh, in
- 27:11Speaker 5: the world of public education because there's, uh, there's there's
- 27:13Speaker 5: a lot of different options now and and and you know,
- 27:16Speaker 5: there's all these different you know, homeschooling, there's all these
- 27:19Speaker 5: different things and uh and and you know, it's it's
- 27:23Speaker 5: a challenging time, you know, for public education across this
- 27:26Speaker 5: country right now.
- 27:27Speaker 14: It is, uh.
- 27:29Speaker 13: And I'm all in favor of parents doing what's right
- 27:32Speaker 13: for their kids. And quick homeschool story. I always opened
- 27:35Speaker 13: up my school to homeschool parents. They would come to
- 27:39Speaker 13: me and say, Mike, I can't do trigger am Trier,
- 27:43Speaker 13: I can't do physics. Can I enroll my child here
- 27:45Speaker 13: for one class a day? And every time I was like, yeah, absolutely,
- 27:48Speaker 13: and it was almost like they were surprised by that.
- 27:51Speaker 13: But here again, I'm about kids. I'm about trying to
- 27:54Speaker 13: help people to grow and prosper in life. And so
- 27:57Speaker 13: I would pick them up and they would participate in
- 28:00Speaker 13: the class, and when they were done with it, you know,
- 28:02Speaker 13: a lot of times they'd end up saying, hey, I
- 28:04Speaker 13: want to go and go to school here, and they'd
- 28:06Speaker 13: come in with us and stay full time. And other
- 28:08Speaker 13: times we drop them from from our roles.
- 28:10Speaker 5: And I didn't know you could do that.
- 28:12Speaker 8: Again, Well I did it.
- 28:14Speaker 13: I've maybe on me about that, but I will tell
- 28:17Speaker 13: you that, you know, they did count against my dropout wreck.
- 28:20Speaker 13: So you look at that formula, say, well they had
- 28:22Speaker 13: an eight percent dropout right at the school. Well, you know,
- 28:25Speaker 13: I had five homeschool kids and entertaking a class account
- 28:27Speaker 13: against me.
- 28:28Speaker 8: At the time. But that's another story for another day.
- 28:30Speaker 13: But uh, and I think the State Department actually has
- 28:34Speaker 13: has looked into that, and I'm not sure that that's
- 28:36Speaker 13: still the policy it is now. So here again when
- 28:39Speaker 13: I say that, I do support all kids, and I
- 28:41Speaker 13: support parents' rights to you know, you you raise your
- 28:44Speaker 13: child the way you want to raise your child, and
- 28:46Speaker 13: I'm going to respect that. I might not agree with
- 28:48Speaker 13: everything that happens, but I'm going to respect and do
- 28:51Speaker 13: everything I can to help. But back to the challenging times.
- 28:54Speaker 13: I know, I know, you know, by and large, I
- 28:57Speaker 13: am anti consolidation by and oh tax payer dollars. And
- 29:01Speaker 13: you know, we got decline enrollment, and you know, we
- 29:04Speaker 13: have a declining population here in the valley, and I
- 29:07Speaker 13: know there's going to be challenges and hard decisions have
- 29:09Speaker 13: to be made, and I'm not sure that's not really
- 29:12Speaker 13: on the table, I don't think right now. But I'm
- 29:14Speaker 13: just saying I think this Board of Education, you know,
- 29:18Speaker 13: as hard as those decisions are to make, I think
- 29:21Speaker 13: they've been financially responsible and had to make some tough
- 29:25Speaker 13: decisions that certainly not everybody that's going to be happy with.
- 29:28Speaker 5: And look, I don't think anybody in the world of
- 29:30Speaker 5: education wants to close schools, wants to consomidate some. I mean,
- 29:34Speaker 5: you'd like to leave every one of them open if
- 29:36Speaker 5: you could.
- 29:36Speaker 12: Well, you know, Dave, and we've talked about this before
- 29:38Speaker 12: here on the show over the past couple of years.
- 29:41Speaker 12: You know, we're facing two challenges as a state here.
- 29:44Speaker 12: We are declining population, as Mike just pointed out, and
- 29:47Speaker 12: as we've talked about several times, and we don't see
- 29:49Speaker 12: that changing. And we're also seeing a shift in the
- 29:52Speaker 12: view of public education at the state level. You know,
- 29:55Speaker 12: as far as our lawmakers are concerned and and what's
- 29:58Speaker 12: happening there, and we as any boards are are sort
- 30:02Speaker 12: of constantly challenged to make the best decisions we possibly
- 30:04Speaker 12: can within the confines of our space in the county.
- 30:08Speaker 5: Right and.
- 30:11Speaker 12: Unfortunately, to your point about consolidations, we never want to
- 30:13Speaker 12: see that happen. But declining population, uh, you know, it
- 30:17Speaker 12: dictates that unfortunately. And you know, as and as far
- 30:20Speaker 12: as the other options that have been presented to parents
- 30:23Speaker 12: and students outside of public education, we can't control that either.
- 30:26Speaker 12: Have my opinions on it, It really doesn't matter as
- 30:29Speaker 12: far as as far as I'm concerned. But we as
- 30:32Speaker 12: a board have to take those challenges and do the
- 30:34Speaker 12: absolute best we can with it. I can tell you
- 30:37Speaker 12: with our rockstar superintendent, Doctor Paula Potter, and and her
- 30:41Speaker 12: incredible leadership and her leadership team, and all the wonderful
- 30:45Speaker 12: administrators and teachers we have in this county, I can
- 30:47Speaker 12: tell you can County offers a world class education. I
- 30:51Speaker 12: would venture to say that we also are setting a
- 30:53Speaker 12: standard for the rest of the state on how we
- 30:55Speaker 12: not only operate as a board, but how we provide
- 30:58Speaker 12: the education to our students. The end of the day,
- 31:01Speaker 12: we're responsible for creating the future's workforce, right, And that's
- 31:05Speaker 12: why I got interested in running eight nine years ago,
- 31:08Speaker 12: was because of the work that I do every day
- 31:10Speaker 12: in building and helping build small business here in the
- 31:12Speaker 12: in the Charleston area, realizing how close that ties to
- 31:16Speaker 12: public education and making sure that equality education will lead to,
- 31:20Speaker 12: as Mike pointed out, you know, shaping and molding you know,
- 31:24Speaker 12: the future members of society that they can contribute back
- 31:27Speaker 12: to society but also experienced success themselves and make our
- 31:30Speaker 12: state and make our region better. So that becomes a
- 31:35Speaker 12: bigger challenge when we're seeing population decline and when we're
- 31:37Speaker 12: seeing so many other options presented to parents and students
- 31:40Speaker 12: that are outside of public education. But I'm very confident
- 31:43Speaker 12: that we still offer the best option for making sure
- 31:46Speaker 12: that we're preparing our workforce for the future.
- 31:47Speaker 5: We talked about consolidation a little bit earlier, and I
- 31:50Speaker 5: will say one of the schools has got a new name.
- 31:53Speaker 5: They decided the name last week. We have Country Country
- 31:56Speaker 5: Roads Elementary School, and that was chosen by you may
- 32:00Speaker 5: not been on on the record exactly how they did it,
- 32:02Speaker 5: but that was choosen by the public right well, that community.
- 32:05Speaker 12: So they based on the student vote and fifty on
- 32:10Speaker 12: the community and parent vote in the DuPont City the
- 32:15Speaker 12: four elementary schools, so that we had to vote to
- 32:17Speaker 12: consolidate in the eastern part of the county last year.
- 32:20Speaker 5: Yeah, and so and so the elementary school will be
- 32:23Speaker 5: called Country Roads.
- 32:24Speaker 12: Roads Elementary School.
- 32:25Speaker 5: Did they have a nickname yet, because I like a
- 32:27Speaker 5: mascot or mascot.
- 32:28Speaker 12: I don't think so they'll choose that as well. They
- 32:30Speaker 12: choose that fully, we have to vote. They bring the
- 32:33Speaker 12: name to us after they went through the process, and
- 32:35Speaker 12: then we vote as a board to approve it. And
- 32:36Speaker 12: of course we voted for what they wanted. So Uh No,
- 32:40Speaker 12: I think it's great and that that just that builds
- 32:43Speaker 12: spirit in that community, right, It gives them buy in
- 32:46Speaker 12: and builds spirit in that community. And I'm really excited
- 32:48Speaker 12: to see what happens on Stephanie.
- 32:49Speaker 5: One of our producers suggested that they call them the
- 32:51Speaker 5: John Denvers.
- 32:52Speaker 12: The John Denvers, and then with that mascot mascot would
- 32:55Speaker 12: just be a big John Denver.
- 32:56Speaker 5: And who was I I was. I interviewed somebody in
- 32:59Speaker 5: there that said call them the Mountain Mamas. I said, well,
- 33:01Speaker 5: I don't know that a ten year old boy he's
- 33:03Speaker 5: gonna win and want to be playing for the Mountain Mamas.
- 33:05Speaker 5: You know, I don't know. There's all kinds of things
- 33:07Speaker 5: that could go wrong with that. Mike, you're a sports guy,
- 33:09Speaker 5: you know all about that. Yes, sir, Mike, I got
- 33:12Speaker 5: a text here that says, my daughter and son both
- 33:15Speaker 5: graduated South Charleston twenty twelve and twenty thirteen. Mike was
- 33:18Speaker 5: so great to the kids and to the parents. He's
- 33:20Speaker 5: blunt and straight to the point when speaking. Reminds me
- 33:23Speaker 5: of the late Pete thal Oh, that's what the Texters says.
- 33:26Speaker 13: I appreciate that boat of confidence, and I actually had
- 33:29Speaker 13: a good working relationship with mister Fall and I'm going
- 33:33Speaker 13: to do the best I can. You know, this is
- 33:35Speaker 13: the first time I've ever personally met wreck by Bay.
- 33:39Speaker 13: I don't know what's out there, I haven't seen it,
- 33:41Speaker 13: but I am looking forward to working with this sport.
- 33:45Speaker 13: I'm sure I'm not going to be perfect. I'm sure
- 33:49Speaker 13: I'll have to make decisions that doesn't please everybody, But
- 33:51Speaker 13: you know what, the same kind of deal with being
- 33:53Speaker 13: a principal. I had to make decisions that I thought
- 33:55Speaker 13: was best for the masses, and the best are for
- 33:57Speaker 13: our students and our teachers, and we move forward from it,
- 34:01Speaker 13: and we can have a disagreement with mutual respect, and
- 34:05Speaker 13: I'm okay with that.
- 34:06Speaker 12: That's one thing that we always, uh we've always talked
- 34:08Speaker 12: about as far as our board is concerned, is that,
- 34:10Speaker 12: as you've seen, we've not always had a five zero
- 34:12Speaker 12: vote on everything we've We've never not always agreed on
- 34:15Speaker 12: every single vote.
- 34:16Speaker 5: I don't know Rick that if it's always some things
- 34:19Speaker 5: are obvious are going to be obvious. I don't know
- 34:21Speaker 5: that you want to have a year so straight five
- 34:23Speaker 5: of them right, and and it's.
- 34:26Speaker 12: Good to get those different perspectives and opinions, and it's
- 34:29Speaker 12: good sometimes for for for the public to see that
- 34:31Speaker 12: we're not always going to all agree on everything, uh,
- 34:34Speaker 12: but we no matter what, we're very very professional board
- 34:38Speaker 12: and we always respect each other at the end of it,
- 34:39Speaker 12: at the end of the meeting, we move on and
- 34:41Speaker 12: we go to the next thing. And that's one that's
- 34:45Speaker 12: one aspect of this board service that I've always been
- 34:48Speaker 12: proud of is the fact that no matter if we
- 34:50Speaker 12: do agree or not, we're going to respect each other.
- 34:53Speaker 12: But again, a lot of that is a lot of
- 34:55Speaker 12: that comes with the leadership of the superintendent and the
- 34:57Speaker 12: working relationship we have with the superintendent and you know,
- 35:01Speaker 12: letting her lead this county and you know, with our
- 35:05Speaker 12: of course, with our advice as a board, but we
- 35:08Speaker 12: put that trust in the superintendent to do to lead
- 35:11Speaker 12: the day that day to day operations of this system.
- 35:14Speaker 12: And you know, again we may not always agree, but
- 35:16Speaker 12: we always respect one another.
- 35:18Speaker 5: Cavender, Mike Carbagas, I appreciate you both being here. I'll
- 35:20Speaker 5: leave you with this and I think I've told Rick
- 35:22Speaker 5: the story before. My U, my cousin was the board
- 35:26Speaker 5: president UH in Logan County, and he told me one time.
- 35:29Speaker 5: He said, I think everybody should have to serve on
- 35:31Speaker 5: the Board of education like jury duty, because it because
- 35:34Speaker 5: because then you'll get to see what it's like.
- 35:36Speaker 8: Rot. I'm not sure what it's going to be like,
- 35:40Speaker 8: but I'm excited to give it a shot.
- 35:42Speaker 5: I'm sure you'll do good things, all right, mister Cavinder.
- 35:44Speaker 5: Always pleasure to have you here, and Mike, good to
- 35:45Speaker 5: see you again. And you'll be sworn in this week,
- 35:49Speaker 5: right this week.
- 35:50Speaker 12: I think it's the sixth, the October sixth, that will
- 35:52Speaker 12: be the ceremonial swearing and we we do you know,
- 35:54Speaker 12: we have an official swearing and that happens beforehand and
- 35:56Speaker 12: then that we do a ceremonial swearing in. I think
- 35:58Speaker 12: Mike's first meeting will be October.

- 42:18Speaker 5: a bad choice in. My OPINION so, I said i
- 42:21Speaker 5: was done talking about The Whole jimmy. Kimmel thing but
- 42:24Speaker 5: it's turned into a story that simply will not.
- 42:28Speaker 16: Go.
- 42:28Speaker 5: Away uh he returned to the air, last night but,
- 42:31Speaker 5: not locally not Here, in charleston the local affiliate here
- 42:34Speaker 5: W C, hs, television which by, the way no relation.
- 42:38Speaker 5: To us we are not related in, any, way, shape form.
- 42:42Speaker 5: Or fashion To Quote, senator justice we are not affiliated.
- 42:45Speaker 5: With them they're not. Bad people we're all friends. With
- 42:48Speaker 5: them we just not related. To them so we're a totally.
- 42:50Speaker 5: Different company we have we share the call letters or radio.
- 42:53Speaker 5: THEIR television i say that because we got we've been
- 42:57Speaker 5: getting quite a bit of phone calls here at the
- 42:59Speaker 5: front desk for about the About The jimmy kimball situation
- 43:05Speaker 5: And The sinclair group of stations opting not to Air
- 43:08Speaker 5: The Jimmy, kimmel show which THEY Own wchs television Here. In,
- 43:12Speaker 5: charleston uh but we have nothing to do. With that
- 43:14Speaker 5: We receive facebook messages and you know it's it, ain't
- 43:17Speaker 5: us that's. Not us they're not. Bad People and i'm
- 43:20Speaker 5: gonna EXPLAIN what i mean by that coming up here
- 43:22Speaker 5: in a couple. Of moments the decision was made on
- 43:24Speaker 5: a corporate level not to Air The. Kimmel show it
- 43:27Speaker 5: was not the decision of the. Local folks so if
- 43:30Speaker 5: you could please stop harassing. These people it would, be
- 43:36Speaker 5: like here's AN example i came, up with and This
- 43:38Speaker 5: is i'm pretty bad at coming up. With analogies it'd
- 43:40Speaker 5: be like going into your local McDonald's and demanding that
- 43:43Speaker 5: they make you a roast. Beef, sandwich well they don't
- 43:46Speaker 5: sell roastby sandwiches. At McDonald's and you wouldn't yell at
- 43:50Speaker 5: the person behind the counter, AND say, i said make
- 43:53Speaker 5: me a roast beef sandwich because corporate won't. Allow it it's.
- 43:56Speaker 5: That simple so it's not the fault of the local
- 44:00Speaker 5: station that they are owned by a much larger Company
- 44:04Speaker 5: called sinclair that opted not to carry carry. The Show
- 44:08Speaker 5: next star also opted not to Carry The Jimmy Kimmel
- 44:12Speaker 5: So next star does not own the station Here. In
- 44:14Speaker 5: charleston they own, another station, you, know thirteen which is,
- 44:17Speaker 5: totally unrelated, uh to to any. Of THIS but i
- 44:20Speaker 5: did want to point that out that it's not, the folks,
- 44:22Speaker 5: you know it's not it's not it's not the fault
- 44:25Speaker 5: of the folks that Are locally this was a corporate
- 44:28Speaker 5: decision Made by sinclair and calling and complaining to them
- 44:31Speaker 5: locally is not gonna not. Gonna help your issue Is,
