The South Carolina Witness: Expanding the Post and Courier Trump/Epstein Investigation · The Epstein Chronicles

0:00
Speaker 1: What's up everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
0:03
Epstein Chronicles. A couple of days ago, we were talking
0:07
about a report from the Post and Courier about the
0:12
young lady, the Jane Doe from South Carolina who said
0:15
that she was abused by Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein. Well,
0:20
today they have a follow up to that report about
0:23
FBI records and how they detail potential witnesses to the
0:27
event and how those details are being kept from the public.
0:32
So today we're just going to dive right in and
0:35
see what they have for us. Like I said, this
0:38
article was published by The Post and Courier the headline
0:42
FBI records detailed potential witnesses of sc Epstein victim, they
0:47
aren't public. This article was authored by Marilyn Thompson and
0:51
Mitchell Black. FBI agents prepared handwritten interview notes that contain
0:58
names of possible corroborating witnesses and other information detailing a
1:03
woman's accusations that Jeffrey Epstein lured her to his deviant
1:07
orbit when she was still a teen on Hilton Head
1:10
Island and sexually abused her. The Posting Courier reviewed thirty
1:15
pages of FBI agent notes, which have not been publicly released.
1:19
The notes made by agents in a series of twenty
1:22
nineteen interviews offer a few new details about her claim
1:26
that she traveled with Epstein to New York area in
1:29
the nineteen eighties. She alleged that she encountered Donald Trump
1:33
during a visit and was once forced into a sex act.
1:37
The White House has a seld her claim describing it
1:40
backed by no evidence. So if there is evidence of it,
1:45
I would say that the public needs to see it, right.
1:47
I mean, that is the point of the law that
1:49
was passed, after all, for these documents to be made public,
1:53
and considering that thirty pages are still buried, it certainly
1:57
makes people wonder and ask questions. The agent's unredacted notes
2:02
were not disclosed in the millions of Epstein documents released
2:06
so far by the US Department of Justice. They flesh
2:09
out some aspects of her claims that she crossed paths
2:12
with Epstein in the Low Country before he built a
2:14
global sex trafficking operation. Why is that so hard for
2:18
people to believe every place Epstein went he was abusing people.
2:24
I truly believe that one hundred percent. When you're a
2:27
guy like this, you can't turn that on and off.
2:30
That's just who you are. You're just a completely broken,
2:33
degenerate fuck bag. You know when they say that a
2:37
lemon comes off the line. Same thing with humans. Some
2:40
humans are just born fucked up. And Epstein one of
2:43
those humans. And remember, there certainly are a bunch of
2:47
women and girls that we have no idea about. The
2:53
Post and Courier compared the notes with official summaries known
2:56
as three O two's, that agents prepared after the interviews.
3:00
Some details in the handwritten notes never made it into
3:03
the prepared summaries, which were heavily redacted by the Justice
3:06
Department before their public release, as required by law. Of course,
3:11
they were because they didn't want it to embarrass Donald Trump,
3:16
to embarrass insert elite here. Meanwhile, all these revivers had
3:21
their names released. Nobody gives a shit. Where's Anna Paulina Luna?
3:25
Oh that's right, she's telling us about interdimensional demons. When
3:29
I tell you that these people are wholly unserious, this
3:31
is what I'm talking about. If people really cared people
3:35
like Comer, people like Anna Paulina A Luna, any of them,
3:38
they'd be demanding that all of this stuff was made public.
3:42
During one interview, for instance, an agent scribbled that the
3:44
woman provided the names of four young teen girls who,
3:48
by her account, attended a pool party on Hilton Head
3:51
when Epstein came by. This was during the time when
3:54
she alleged Epstein was sexually assaulting her and plying her
3:58
with drugs and alcohol. Details about the four friends were
4:02
not visible in the FBI's three h two reports and
4:05
may have been redacted in an effort to protect victim privacy.
4:10
Redact their names, not what they said. How are we
4:15
going to find out what's what if we don't know
4:17
what the witnesses say. And again, I'm not calling for
4:21
them to be outed. You redact their names, right, that's
4:25
the whole point of the law. But the government they
4:29
have other ideas, and they're going to redact whatever they
4:32
think is going to make it harder for us to
4:34
figure out what's going on, because that's always been the goal.
4:38
It's never been about transparency, it's never been about justice.
4:41
It's always been about the men of always getting more
4:45
while the children of never That means me and you
4:48
continue to get screwed. That's what it's all about. And
4:52
they'll go to great lengths to protect the people that
4:55
are part of their club. It's unclear whether the FBI
4:58
ever pursued leads offered by the alleged victim. One of
5:01
the women identified in the interview notes as a high
5:04
school friend told the Post and Courier that she was
5:07
never contacted by the FBI. Look that all tracks. They
5:11
didn't even contact Endyke and Cohn. You think they're going
5:14
to contact this girl? Zero chance? How much more evidence
5:19
do you need that there was never a real investigation here,
5:22
Just like I told you seven years ago. You don't
5:26
have to be some great investigator to figure that out.
5:31
Agent's notes from a fourth interview with the alleged victim
5:34
in twenty nineteen were not available for the Post and
5:37
Courier to review. The DOJ's handling of the notes and
5:41
other materials continued to be a point of focus as
5:44
President Trump ousted Attorney General Pam Bondi on April second
5:49
Deputy Attorney General Todd Baby Billy Blanche replaced her on
5:53
an interim basis. All that is is a swap because
5:57
Blanche is going to do whatever Trump wants them to do.
6:00
He's Trump's personal lawyer. This dude has never prosecuted anything
6:04
in his life. But sure, let's make him the ag.
6:08
It's like when you were younger, you know, you sit
6:10
around with your friends and you're like, if I became president,
6:13
so and so would be secretary of State, and it's
6:16
like your stupidest friend or whatever. That's basically what's happening here.
6:21
Who's the most loyal as opposed to who's the best
6:25
for the job, Because when we're talking about the Trump administration,
6:29
it's all about loyalty to Trump. It's not about loyalty
6:31
to the country. It's not about loyalty to the Constitution.
6:34
It's about loyalty to Trump. And if you don't have
6:37
that loyalty, forget it. You're out. Responding to The Post
6:42
and Courier's questions about its review of the FBI agent notes,
6:47
a Justice Department spokesperson issued a statement saying there are
6:50
no missing pages among the records released by the Department.
6:54
The DOJ has said that some records are considered duplicative
6:58
with what is available elsewhere and from members of Congress
7:01
to view in private. I don't care what Congress can view.
7:04
Are you crazy right now? That's not what the law says.
7:07
I don't trust Congress either have you not been paying attention?
7:11
We want to see it the American people, you know,
7:14
the people that pay the fucking bills. This production may
7:19
include fake or falsely submitted images, document or videos, as
7:22
everything that was sent to the FBI by the public
7:25
was included in the production that is responsive to the act.
7:29
The statement said that was done on purpose as well,
7:31
to make everybody look crazy. Oh yeah, let's add the
7:34
most salacious emails that were sent by obvious crazy people
7:38
to make the whole entire thing look like a bunch
7:40
of bs. And the people that bought that book, line
7:45
and sinker, you know, the Oh it's a hoax people,
7:48
Boy are you stupid? Imagine waking up every morning and
7:52
being that dumb. Life must be hard as fuck. Most
7:58
of the FBI notes are written in kurt of handwriting,
8:00
with random jottings as conversations unfolded. The scribblings have the
8:05
disorganized feel of a personal notebook, with items that may
8:08
only make sense to the writer. Well, look, I can't
8:11
even complain about that because my note taking. Forget it.
8:16
If like some archaeologists finds my notebook from college in
8:20
like three hundred years, they'll be like, what the fuck
8:22
was this dude doing what language is that? Because I
8:25
was using more shorthand than you could possibly imagine, and
8:28
that was in the pursuit of a political science degree.
8:30
I can only imagine FBI agents doing reports. They have
8:34
their own language, I'm guessing. FBI interviews are intended to
8:39
build narrative reconstructions of events and are not conducted under oath.
8:44
Agents do not usually tape interviews, although the agents ask
8:47
for permission to audio record the victim. In the fourth interview,
8:51
her attorney was not present. She advised she was not
8:54
comfortable being taped. Agents wrote a summary of the interview. Well,
8:59
you blame her. I wouldn't be comfortable either, dealing with
9:02
this kind of power. You're some girl who says you
9:05
were abused, and you're gonna go on record and say
9:07
the president was involved. Probably not a comfortable situation to
9:11
be in. And not everybody wants to rock the boat.
9:17
And unfortunately, some people think it's hopeless. And that's because, well,
9:21
look at what's happening. We always talk about precedent in
9:25
the courtroom, Well what about the precedent that this sets.
9:29
How many people are out there saying, you know what,
9:31
fuck this? I'm never coming forward. I don't want to
9:34
deal with this shit. I don't want to have Anna
9:36
Pauline a Luna call me a human trafficker because I
9:39
fell into the clutches of Jeffrey Epstein. And unfortunately, I
9:44
hate to say it, but in my opinion, it's all
9:47
by design. The notes include a few clarifying details about
9:54
the victims alleged trips with Epstein to visit Trump. In
9:59
the two her account reflects uncertainty about her travel with
10:03
Epstein off to the island, apparently referring to Hilton Head
10:07
at least once, when she was thirteen to fifteen years old,
10:10
he drove her or a flewr to either New York
10:13
or New Jersey. The report said she was introduced to
10:16
someone with money, money, money. It was Donald Trump. It
10:20
said that she had two additional interactions with Trump, but
10:23
when agents attempted to ask her questions, she asked that
10:26
the interview move on to a different subject for the
10:28
time being. The handwritten notes come across as slightly less
10:32
tentative about her travel with Epstein, which if true, could
10:36
constitute underage sex trafficking. Well, it is true, come on,
10:40
at least as far as Epstein bringing girls across date lines.
10:44
That's not even debatable. They suggest that Epstein both drove
10:48
and flew her to New York and New Jersey and
10:50
introduced her to Trump. She told agents that she overheard
10:53
them talking about business matters, including a casino, noting that
10:57
Trump did not like her from the get go. She
11:00
described the alleged assault that was later detailed in the
11:02
three to two report. The note taker jotted down two
11:06
more interactions with Trump. So I'm not going to sit
11:09
here and tell you that I know if this is
11:10
true or not. The big problem for me here is
11:13
that the FBI didn't really investigate this the way they should.
11:17
So how do we know what the truth is and
11:19
what's not the truth? And then you bury these documents,
11:23
you don't release them. What are we supposed to think?
11:28
The redacted three to two report details a nighttime pool
11:31
party with her friends, possibly at the Marriotte Hotel. A
11:34
large blacked out portion follows that statement. She said Epstein
11:38
showed her up alone to the party, and she left
11:41
with them. She said her friends might have seen them together.
11:44
Those identities appear to be redacted from the formal report.
11:49
The handwritten notes clearly identify the Marriotte at Hipyard Plantation
11:53
as a location, and includes the handwritten names of her
11:56
friends with a few notes about the relationships. One of
12:00
the name women told the Post and Courier that the
12:02
hotel pool was a hangout for her high school friends.
12:05
Students would sneak in after school by pretending to be
12:08
hotel guests. The woman said she had no memory of
12:12
any creepiness. The Post and Courier attempted to contact other
12:17
people listed in the FBI notes as being at the
12:20
alleged Marriott gathering to decline to comment. So, look, nobody
12:24
wants to comment. There's no cooperation here. So okay, again,
12:29
why was it buried? Why wasn't it all presented as
12:33
the law demands. That's a big problem. That's a cover up,
12:36
and it's a cover up that's being directed, in my opinion,
12:39
by the White House among those that the pool party
12:42
described by the alleged victim was a high school friend
12:45
to whom she confided details of her sexual encounters. At
12:49
the time of the interview. The alleged victim said her
12:51
friend had recently prodator to recall repressed memories by sending
12:55
her a much circulated photograph of Epstein standing close to Trump.
13:00
The friend also called the FBI tip line and offered
13:03
her account of what she said was the victim's involvement
13:06
with Epstein and Trump. So corroboration right there, one person
13:10
at least. It's not clear whether the FBI looked into
13:15
the alleged victim's account after she told agents in October
13:18
of twenty nineteen that she planned to sue the Epstein estate.
13:22
Well why not? Why wouldn't they look into it? Why
13:26
not kick off an investigation and see what this girl's
13:30
talking about, unless you're scared of what you're gonna find.
13:35
A federal lawsuit was filed to New York just before
13:37
Christmas that year with someone referred to as Jane Doe
13:40
for making similar allegations of sexual assaults by Epstein on
13:44
Hiltonhead in the mid nineteen eighties. A settlement was reached
13:48
in December of twenty twenty one, according to her attorneys.
13:53
Additional details in the notes raised new questions about Justice
13:56
departments withholding of documents. The Epstein Files Transparency Act, bipartisan
14:02
legislation signed by Trump late last year, required the DOJ
14:06
to produce records related to Epstein by December nineteenth, twenty
14:10
twenty five. The Department initially made public a fraction of
14:15
the documents and waited until January to publish a massive troth.
14:20
Missing from the trench were the interview summaries from the
14:22
former Hilton Head resident, in which he made allegations against
14:26
Trump and others. The Justice Department described their own mission
14:30
as a clerical error. Of course, it was always a
14:33
clerical error that falls to the side of the government
14:37
and the administration. You notice nobody's names ever leaked when
14:42
they're accused of the abuse. It's only the girls who
14:44
were abused who get their names leaked. I'm sure just
14:47
another coincidence, right, They're not targeting people. Trump's former personal
14:53
attorney set outrage about the unaccounted for records was overblown.
14:57
Come on, man, it's not a legal party with Epstein.
15:00
Everybody was doing it. Head on down to the island,
15:03
have yourself a blast, said Todd Baby Billy Blanche. There
15:09
was drama about missing files that were holding covering things up.
15:12
He said recently on a podcast. The evidence of the
15:15
missing files came from the Epstein files, so they're not
15:18
missing files. We went back and adjusted that right away.
15:22
Oh well, all is forgiven, mister Todd Baby Billy Blanche.
15:28
Some critics, like Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island,
15:32
have criticized the lack of transparency. Searches under the alleged
15:37
victim's case code showed that a law enforcement report and
15:40
a license record are not in the database. A photograph
15:44
originally believed to be missing was actually in the files.
15:48
The Justice Department on February fourteenth wrote a six page
15:52
letter to the House and Senate Judiciary Committee explaining that
15:56
it redacted material in the files after a legal evaluation,
16:00
and only when documents were judged to be duplicative or
16:03
protected by legal privileges such as confidential discussion between lawyers
16:07
and clients and protection of state secrets. Now what kind
16:11
of state secrets are going to be in the Epstein files?
16:15
I thought he was just a loan predator. I thought
16:17
he was just a guy that liked the abuse kids.
16:21
You bunch of jackasses. The agency has been accused of
16:26
covering up documents that might implicate Trump, a longtime friend
16:30
of Epstein who has referenced more than a thousand times
16:33
in the publicly released documents. The Justice Department's letter called
16:37
the President, one of many politically exposed persons in the files.
16:42
Poor Trump exposed in the files. Here's an idea. Don't
16:46
hang out with people like Jeffrey Epstein and you don't
16:48
have to worry about being exposed. Thanks for coming to
16:51
my ted talk. Officials have acknowledged some mistakes in the
16:56
hasty review of millions of documents, including not redacting vic
17:00
the names in released emails and photographs. When notified of
17:03
the errors, they said the department corrected them, but issues remain.
17:09
An FBI document with identifying details of the alleged victims
17:12
high school friend remains available for anyone to view because
17:17
they don't care. You think Todd Blanche cares about the survivors.
17:22
As he sat down and talked to the survivors the
17:25
way he did Maxwell. Remember what he said, Oh, we
17:28
want to give Maxwell a chance to go on the record.
17:30
She's a convicted child abuser. She's had her chance to
17:33
go on the record. She declined. The Post and Courier
17:37
is withholding the identity of the alleged victim and the
17:40
woman identified as her friends, in keeping with the newspapers
17:43
general policy of not revealing the names of sexual assault survivors.
17:47
Or alleged survivors. Bondi may soon need to answer for
17:52
the DOJ's handling of the Epstein files. She's scheduled to
17:56
testify April fourteenth before a Congressional committee about her depart
18:00
arment's compliant with the law. It's not completely clear if
18:03
Bondi will still testify, though Republican Nancy Mace said she
18:07
still wants her to answer questions under oath. My subpoena
18:11
still stands. When the Oversight Committee moved to subpoena Bondi,
18:14
I did it by name, not by or not as
18:17
the sitting Attorney General of the United States. Mace posted
18:21
on social media, Well, look, I hope that's the case,
18:24
but I have my doubts, and I think that him
18:27
firing her, Trump firing Pambondi is just another move, another
18:32
way to try and slow things down and gum things up.
18:35
But as far as these documents go, they should have
18:38
all been released, and the fact that they weren't is
18:41
against the law. I mean, I don't know how else
18:43
to put it. And if they're duplicative, fine release them anyway.
18:47
It shouldn't be a big deal, right. If they're duplicative,
18:50
they're out there already point us in that direction. Notice
18:53
he never does that. Notice he just says, oh, well,
18:56
this is just bs, it's overblown, okay, but we don't
19:01
believe you, Todd Blanche, just like I didn't believe Merrick Garland.
19:04
I didn't believe Bill Barr. I didn't believe you know,
19:07
Mark Philippe. I didn't believe Mukazy. The list goes on,
19:10
and that's because breaking news. None of these people are believable.
19:15
Oh they tell us one thing, but they do another.
19:18
And unfortunately, with Todd Blanche taking the helm here, all
19:21
we're gonna see is more of the same because Blanche,
19:25
like Bondi, is just an extension of Donald Trump. And
19:28
we all know that Donald Trump has no desire for
19:31
these files to be released. And it doesn't matter who's
19:34
in the position of Attorney General, because it's always meet
19:38
the new boss, same as the old boss. All the
19:42
information that goes with this episode can be found in
19:45
the description box.
