- 0:00I wake up, he looks at me. He goes happy birthday.
- 0:04What was that? He goes.
- 0:07You just died and you came back. Happy birthday.
- 0:13How long was this whole experience?
- 0:1415 minutes. None.
- 0:17Of your business, Oshi? None of your business, Michael.
- 0:20It's the None of Your Business podcast hosted by Michael
- 0:23Anoshi. Guys.
- 0:28Zeesh, AKA Zach Mermelstein was on our podcast and the reason
- 0:33why I was excited to have him on was entirely different from what
- 0:37the discussion was at the end. I thought we're going to talk
- 0:39about the fact that he exited a company and he's restarting a
- 0:42new one and he's now back in the healthcare industry and what it
- 0:45was like to make events and his process of getting divorced from
- 0:49his company and personally and reestablishing himself, which
- 0:52was very, very interesting. But towards the end, he opened
- 0:55up about something that I knew about, but I wasn't really 100%
- 0:58sure. And we spoke about his journey
- 1:02medically, I may add, of ayahuasca.
- 1:05And I'm, I'm super excited. I think that I think we have to
- 1:10prepare ourselves. Is the world ready to hear about
- 1:12a typical entrepreneur person in your You're praying with living
- 1:18in your neighborhood, doing ayahuasca and talk about it
- 1:21publicly. 100% I actually think not only is the world ready for
- 1:26it, I think the world is very in tune with it because it has been
- 1:31stigmatized for a long time. And like anything in life, you
- 1:34can use it both ways. You can use it for positive or
- 1:36for negative, right? Your biggest strength can be
- 1:38your biggest weakness. And for a long time it's been
- 1:41looked down upon like it's something that's negative and
- 1:44it's a bad thing. But if you use right and if you
- 1:47do it responsibly, it can actually be a very uplifting
- 1:50thing. And it can be in a healthy
- 1:52environment, it can be eye opening.
- 1:54And I think that's what he was telling us and that's what he
- 1:56was explaining. And I think the world has now
- 1:59learned to accept a lot more things than we've ever done
- 2:02because what instead of just knocking it and saying it's all
- 2:05or nothing, let's find a way to actually make it better.
- 2:08Let's enhance it. Let's use the good strong parts
- 2:11to make ourselves better people. And I think that's what he
- 2:14really showed us is how it helped him and how it helped him
- 2:18in a lot of ways. And I think the world's more
- 2:20receptive to it now than they ever were.
- 2:22It took him like 45 minutes to open up to that.
- 2:24So I think we need to start this week's podcast with the end,
- 2:26which is going to be super cool. So let's jump right into it.
- 2:30But before we do, I just want to mention something that doing
- 2:33something medicinally. Did I say that right?
- 2:36I. Don't know, but it sounded good.
- 2:38You know, when it comes to treating something like
- 2:40depression, anxiety, stress or something in general trauma, I'm
- 2:45going to advise everyone listening.
- 2:47What I advised to myself and I've taken upon myself years ago
- 2:51is before you make life changing decisions, seek advice of three
- 2:54mentors that you trust and speak to them about what you're about
- 2:58to do and make sure that it's right for you.
- 3:01Because anything that you ingest that affects your body and your
- 3:05mind and your soul and you know, and taps into your subconscious
- 3:09is scary. So with that being said, let's
- 3:13take it from there. And oh, is she?
- 3:15I'm going to miss. You.
- 3:18I'm going to Israel for the next few weeks and it's going to be
- 3:21the holidays. We're not going to be putting
- 3:22out a podcast for a couple of weeks.
- 3:24And but I'm going to be recording my entire journey in
- 3:28Israel, including the market, including the bunkers, including
- 3:31interviewing people. And we have a friendly
- 3:35competition going about you doing your own podcast and my me
- 3:38doing my own. And that's exciting, so.
- 3:41By the way, if my podcast that I do alone does better than any
- 3:44podcast we've previously done, we're gonna have to have a hard
- 3:47conversation. You know what?
- 3:48Ditto. You're gonna, we're gonna have
- 3:50to really reevaluate what we're doing over.
- 3:52Here just tuning into this and didn't see this on my status.
- 3:56Oshe and I are having a friendly right it's.
- 3:59Starting out as friendly, we'll see where it goes.
- 4:02We're having a friendly competition where because I'm in
- 4:05Israel doing interviews on my own, Oshe felt it would be
- 4:08apropos for him to interview his besties who are interesting and
- 4:13to do it on his own solo. So she's going to be having a
- 4:16podcast with him and two very interesting guests that are his
- 4:19close confidante and friends. And I shall be doing the same.
- 4:24So wish us both luck on our competition and take a listen to
- 4:29our conversation with Zeesh. Welcome back everybody to
- 4:34another amazing episode of the None of Your Business podcast.
- 4:37Thank you again for the Prime Source community for helping us
- 4:40sponsor these podcasts so far. It's been an amazing journey so
- 4:44far, Oshi, wouldn't you say? I love it.
- 4:46Yeah, it's been great so far. Are you ready for this 1:00-ish?
- 4:48Yeah, you know, I'm, I'm a little bit out of it this.
- 4:51Morning, I will get you into it. But I think slowly I will come
- 4:54to my I. Think, I think that the guest
- 4:55that we have today is gonna is gonna get you right into the
- 4:58right spirit of things. Please don't forget to like,
- 5:01subscribe, comment, follow, do all those amazing things.
- 5:05Give us your feedback because it's with your feedback that we
- 5:07continue to grow. So we are joined with a very
- 5:10good friend, Zeesh Murmelstein. Zeesh AKA Zach, I remember you
- 5:14using the name Zach right? Back in the day, Back in the
- 5:17day. Yeah, it's been a while since I
- 5:20know you. I just want to mention that I'm
- 5:23honored to have you here, not only because you're another
- 5:25guest on the USHI and Michael None of Your Business podcast,
- 5:28but also you are the first recommended guest to be on our
- 5:33podcast. Many people at the end of the
- 5:35show, we asked them to give us an idea who they would recommend
- 5:39and we had Yessi Churns on our podcast.
- 5:41By the way, great episode we had with him, did really, really
- 5:44well. People loved it and he
- 5:46recommended you and lo and behold, you said yes.
- 5:49And here you are today. So it's a real pleasure to have
- 5:52you here. Hi Kaloshi, Great being here.
- 5:55Keep spreading the light, keep spreading the energy.
- 5:59And You See's podcast was great. I listened to it, so appreciate
- 6:04all of that. You see's the guy spreading the
- 6:06light, spreading the energy. So yeah, don't stop.
- 6:09You listen to all our podcasts so far.
- 6:12Bits and pieces of them for sure.
- 6:14Oh, so you haven't listened to everyone religiously?
- 6:16No, I can't say I had. To So you're not like a stalker
- 6:19fan of ours just yet? Not a group.
- 6:22Not a groupie. Not a groupie.
- 6:23Any, any constructive criticism for what you've heard so far?
- 6:26Any tells one really good thing that we're doing and one thing
- 6:29that we could be doing better. One thing I love that you guys
- 6:32changed up is that you're sitting in this seat.
- 6:35That, to me is really. Jury is still out of that one.
- 6:38Let's just make a mental note for those who can't see us that
- 6:41Ushi has taken center stage, not the mic is not good enough.
- 6:44He wants the center stage with the mic and I gave it to him.
- 6:47Yeah, I was promoted and Michael got demoted to the sides, but
- 6:50I'm actually realizing now that I'm sitting in the seat that
- 6:52that seat might be actually a little.
- 6:54Better You want to switch back. I'm ready.
- 6:56I'm ready. That feels greener.
- 6:57Over there you. Can grass is always greener?
- 7:00Exactly. You don't realize how good you
- 7:01have it until you look at somebody else's shoes.
- 7:04You sit in their shoes. Then you realize, you know what?
- 7:06I want my old life back. I don't know if I like this new
- 7:08life so much. You know, we've been we've been
- 7:12doing this thing called the Lightning round and I'd like to
- 7:14start off this podcast for the very first time with the
- 7:17lightning round because it'll give a flavor for where the
- 7:20discussion is going to head. All right, so you ready for
- 7:23that? I have a couple of.
- 7:24Questions we got to put a timer on because these lightning round
- 7:26questions have to be answered off the cuff first thing that
- 7:29pops into your mind. It can't be you're thinking
- 7:31about it. So you get 60 seconds for the 10
- 7:33questions, OK, you got one, none of your business 1 pass only the
- 7:38other nine you have to answer by contract that we have here
- 7:41before this as you agreed. So you have to make sure.
- 7:43That you do. I got like a call a friend no.
- 7:45No, no phone of friends. No phone of friends.
- 7:47No, Phone of Friends. You're gonna have to do this.
- 7:49I'm gonna put the timer on Michael.
- 7:51OK, you ready? Let's go for it.
- 7:54Zish, what is the most expensive item that you ever bought just
- 7:58for yourself? But.
- 7:59What is your life motto in one sentence?
- 8:03You do you all the way. If you had to choose no more
- 8:08morning prayers versus no more psychedelics, which one would
- 8:12you choose? No more psychedelics.
- 8:15What's your business motto that guided you through this entire
- 8:18amazing career of yours? Think big, think bigger.
- 8:23What's the most uncomfortable part of running your company?
- 8:26Realizing that your entire payroll means not just another
- 8:32business expense, but there's families and children behind
- 8:35every paycheck. And when you need to make
- 8:38payroll, you need to know it's not just an expense that needs
- 8:42to be covered. What's more stressful,
- 8:44negotiating millions or throwing the perfect party?
- 8:47Throwing the perfect party? Sure.
- 8:50I've been at one of your perfect parties and I have to say, it
- 8:52was awesome. That's all I have for you for
- 8:54right now. That went OK, went OK.
- 8:57Yeah, yeah, she's not into this. He's he.
- 8:59He rather just tell us anything about sis.
- 9:00We learned nothing about him. Only thing I took out of this is
- 9:02that he has a boat. Then I need to be better friends
- 9:04with him. That's about it.
- 9:05Like, why don't we talk about the ayahuasca?
- 9:07I feel like that's a perfect time.
- 9:08Now. You mentioned Kabbalah.
- 9:10Yeah, you mentioned to me. Yeah.
- 9:12That he's somebody who's very into a.
- 9:13Well, I don't think people in general know what it is so.
- 9:17I don't even know what right. So let's, I'd love to learn
- 9:18about it because it sounds very trippy.
- 9:21It sounds amazing. I'm all for substances, you
- 9:24know, I'm first in line, so I want to hear about it.
- 9:26For healthy, life changing substances, of course.
- 9:28Of course, of course. What did you mean?
- 9:29No, that I I'm. Just making sure, what did you
- 9:31think? Of other people may.
- 9:32I mean, if you're in a restaurant listening to you, you
- 9:34might. So tell us about this What,
- 9:38what, what experience do you have in this field?
- 9:40What do you know about it? What have you done?
- 9:42What can you share? Let's get into it.
- 9:43And maybe you can explain it to us also in general what it is so
- 9:46the the idea. Of as it relates to
- 9:48psychedelics. Yeah, the psychedelics and your
- 9:50spiritual journey and where it started, how you got inspired.
- 9:54We're up to that point in your life, you know, where the fish
- 9:57smelled so bad you got rid of it.
- 10:00What happened then? How did you get inspired?
- 10:02How did you get involved in that part of your life?
- 10:04It really started, you know, like we always say, nothing is
- 10:09by accident, absolutely nothing. At the same time that I moved to
- 10:12Muncie, a gentleman by the name of Ravdov Berpinson also moved
- 10:17to Muncie from Brooklyn. COVID, I don't even know the
- 10:21reasons, but we ended up davening.
- 10:24He wasn't a rabbi, he was just Ravdov Berpinson who moved into
- 10:28the neighborhood of Montebello and we ended up davening in the
- 10:30same shul. At that point he started being
- 10:34he started speaking and they told me he wrote like 40-50
- 10:40books at the time. What ordered 1?
- 10:43You can only order them on Amazon.
- 10:45They're not in the swarm stores that already.
- 10:47It was like, this is all different.
- 10:51And I read it and my wife starts imitating me of what I looked
- 10:55like when I'd read it and I'd read a page and I'm like, did he
- 10:58just say that? And I'd put it down on my chest.
- 11:01I can't believe he just said that.
- 11:02He just put words to feelings I've had my entire life and had
- 11:06no language for it really. It's the name of this book.
- 11:10It started with breathing and quieting the mind, visualization
- 11:14and imagery sounds that. Big book you recommend from him,
- 11:16Is that his best one? Again, I didn't read all 60 yet
- 11:20and it's up to 60. He just put out one last week.
- 11:23I I had the honor of meeting him.
- 11:25You introduced us to him at one of our talks, that we had an
- 11:28amazing, amazing human being. Yeah.
- 11:30So I I I mean. Equanimity.
- 11:32That concept of equanimity you cannot insult or.
- 11:36I learned from him and. He writes about personal
- 11:39behavior and. Everything, everything it's all
- 11:41about. It's all about, you know, as
- 11:43above, so below, and understanding that life is
- 11:47unfolding in front of us in the moment, at every moment to get
- 11:53out of your past and you're stuck in your past.
- 11:56That be anybody or anything that's stuck in its past is not
- 12:00a lie by definition. We move forward.
- 12:04So, and if we believe, and you can bring it to The Big Bang
- 12:08theory or you could bring it to the voracious story and the
- 12:11Torah, It's the same real thing which is The Big Bang that's
- 12:14happening every moment, Mihadist, Bhutubhalia and Tamid,
- 12:17which means at every moment the world is being recreated.
- 12:20There's an ex nihilo which starts from nothing to something
- 12:25happening at every moment. It's not a one time event that
- 12:29happened, it's happening. OK, so you're reading the book,
- 12:34you're putting it on your chest, you're saying Oh my God, and
- 12:36I'm. Blown away by how he sees and he
- 12:39incorporates feelings into Judaism, which was never a thing
- 12:43when we grew up in yeshiva. I don't feel like learning
- 12:47today. There was no such Where's where
- 12:49your feelings come in. I don't feel gonna smack at the
- 12:52fast you, you feel. Back down at your.
- 12:55Chair, since when is feelings a thing?
- 12:59And I've had a conversation with a great person and once said to
- 13:01him, you know my feelings never matter to you.
- 13:04And he goes correct because everything I've done was to keep
- 13:08you out of hell. Where do feelings come in?
- 13:13Wow. And there's a truth to that.
- 13:17When that's your whole end, go instead of living in this world,
- 13:23I'm here to live in this world and the next, but in this world.
- 13:29But reading the books all of a sudden started opening my mind
- 13:33that the what what I was running away from.
- 13:37There's another option. There's another, there are words
- 13:40here that I can tap into and started really reading and going
- 13:44to his classes and following his Youtubes and he's been posting
- 13:48for 30 years on YouTube and really getting close to him and
- 13:53that was life changing. That was my first life changing
- 13:57part that came, you know, moving to Muncie and having ear to
- 14:00breathe. That was huge for me coming from
- 14:04Brooklyn of 35 years. I grew up upstate in South
- 14:07Fallsburg. My father was a Rebbe in the
- 14:09yeshiva upstate. So from when I was born until I
- 14:12was seven years old, I lived in South Fallsburg with the snow
- 14:16that was taller than me and loved it.
- 14:19Then we moved to Brooklyn and stayed there throughout my
- 14:24elementary high school, got married, stayed there for 21
- 14:27years until I got back out and started breathing.
- 14:31And like I said, going to the park every day and needed it.
- 14:34It was literally part of me that needed, especially in the first
- 14:38couple of years that I moved here, I needed that park every
- 14:42day just to breathe. And just going through it every
- 14:46day and seeing nature progress day after day is the most
- 14:52amazing fact. Like today, we were talking with
- 14:54a couple of guys. I said, where are all the leaves
- 14:57in the forest that fell in the last 10 years?
- 14:59They're all gone. They're disintegrated.
- 15:01And where'd they go? Into the air.
- 15:04Into the ground, the atmosphere, into the ground, they get.
- 15:07It's the like the formula for the ground that feeds the ground
- 15:10the the nutrients it needs the the leaves themselves fertilize
- 15:15the ground. So maybe the the whole tree when
- 15:19it's alive is only producing dead leaves.
- 15:23Maybe it's most alive when the leaves are dead.
- 15:25Maybe can we get in the feedings?
- 15:27Alex Park. We should have this.
- 15:29I'm I'm. Yeah, it's all fat.
- 15:31No, no, but keep going. So you.
- 15:34Two years after that, one afternoon, I was home on a
- 15:38Sunday afternoon and a friend of mine and I reached out to a
- 15:41friend of mine and said, I said, you want to come over to the
- 15:44schvitz, the sauna in my house. He goes, I could or you could
- 15:48come over here. And I knew nothing.
- 15:50And I'm like, sure, I'll come over there.
- 15:53I'm always up to something new. He goes, you ready to change
- 15:56your life forever? I'm like, today might be a good
- 16:00idea. And what does that mean?
- 16:04He goes, Are you ready? Yes or no?
- 16:06And me and being me said sure. And he laid me down and a
- 16:12mattress and put on a headphone and the most trippy music and
- 16:19the mattress starts vibrating and I'm going and the vibrations
- 16:25are going with the music. So as the music gets more
- 16:29intense, the vibrations getting in down and you can totally lose
- 16:32yourself in that experience itself.
- 16:35But maybe 10 minutes of that and he says to me and again, no
- 16:41proper set or setting as they call it.
- 16:44You know, in psychedelics, the big thing is a call set in
- 16:47setting, which is your mindset going in and the setting you're
- 16:51in, you know, are you at a party or you had a some type of
- 16:54spiritual event? You know, the setting of where
- 16:57it is and the mindset going in is all about how your experience
- 17:02is going to be. So the mindset wasn't there
- 17:05because I had no idea what I was walking into.
- 17:07I had no intention. I'd never heard of any of this
- 17:10in my life. And he goes OK, sits me up and
- 17:16tells me. And I see his chemist thing
- 17:19there with, you know, cooking things and smoke and things
- 17:23happening and I don't even know what's going on.
- 17:26Just. The two of you in the.
- 17:26Room, just the two of us and he sets up like a bong and it tells
- 17:34me you're going to inhale and you're going to hold it forever.
- 17:41I'm like OK. By the way, I'm loving this
- 17:46already. I'm already loving it.
- 17:47Go ahead, go ahead. How's your energy level, by the
- 17:49way? I am right now dialed.
- 17:54It took us a while, but we got yeah, yeah.
- 17:57We I take that hit and I inhale and he puts his hand on my fire
- 18:04and lays me back and it was for And he tells me in the middle of
- 18:10whatever you're going to be going through, I'm going to tell
- 18:13you to take another hit. You're going to say no, but do
- 18:15it. The boss, whatever.
- 18:23I take the hit. He I feel him lean my head back
- 18:29and I remember my hands just falling out and I go into this
- 18:34dark black space and I just keep repeating the word nothing,
- 18:41nothing, nothing. Just kept letting go of every
- 18:47part of everything that I felt true and real.
- 18:51And I just kept repeating the word nothing, nothing, nothing.
- 18:56And just felt like no feet, no hands, no head, no body.
- 19:01Just so you're not. There's nothing.
- 19:05Everything, every ego part of us, every, everything, every
- 19:09attachment is over. You're just in a place of 0.
- 19:16And at that point, he started playing guitar and playing songs
- 19:23and all of a sudden colors and it looked like a kaleidoscope.
- 19:27You know, a kaleidoscope where you look through and turn the
- 19:30colors and just different colors and just you're living in it.
- 19:35You're part of it. You're it.
- 19:38And then he told me, if you see bright light, just follow it.
- 19:45That's not usually what you're told, but yeah, OK.
- 19:49I'd bail at this point. I'd be honest with you.
- 19:51I'd be like, no, I'm out of here.
- 19:53Yeah, he's. Totally.
- 19:54You in the room? Yeah, but there's.
- 19:54No bailing or anything, he's late.
- 19:56Was he doing the same thing you were doing or was he sober?
- 19:58He was sober. He was sober, right?
- 20:00He was giving you the experience and he was kind of leading you
- 20:03along. I'm sorry, what experiences can
- 20:05we know? What?
- 20:06What? What he's telling you this?
- 20:07No, no. Go ahead, go ahead.
- 20:10What I don't? Know he wants to know what it's
- 20:12called. Yeah, he wants to know the name.
- 20:13What did I take? Yeah.
- 20:14What is it? So I didn't know at the time,
- 20:16right? I knew nothing but you're.
- 20:18But you're listening. I'm.
- 20:19Following yeah I'm. I'm already deep in and I'm
- 20:23seeing these colors and shapes and the most fascinating trip,
- 20:30like I came out of it 15 minutes later, the end of it's really
- 20:35creepy because to me, again, everybody's trip is different
- 20:39and everybody's experience and no person has to the same trip.
- 20:42So everything is different. But to me, it felt like you
- 20:45remember when we used to have to defrag our computers.
- 20:49Do you remember defragmenting? We used to go to our C drive and
- 20:53they're clean it up. To clean it up, yeah, it would
- 20:55be a line like and you see a million lines and when you
- 20:58finish defragmenting they. That's it.
- 21:00All the beginning. This is the one side, and now
- 21:03your hard drive's much cleaner because we took all the bits and
- 21:06bits and pieces of information, we consolidated them into one
- 21:09piece of the hard drive, and now your hard drive works much
- 21:12better. I don't know if they still have
- 21:14it, but we used to have to defrag our computers every six
- 21:16months because computers just put shit randomly anyway.
- 21:21Like cleaning out your outlook? And that's what I felt was
- 21:24happening to my brain at the time as I was coming out of it.
- 21:28I just felt like like, like a defrag of information.
- 21:32Everything I knew up until one point is being defragged.
- 21:36And now you have an open mind to like a fresh canvas brain didn't
- 21:41take away from me any knowledge, didn't take away any
- 21:43experiences, but just gave me a fresh part of my brain to work
- 21:49with. And that's really what I felt
- 21:52like in the experience as it was happening.
- 21:57I wake up, he looks at me, he goes happy birthday.
- 22:01What was that? He goes, you just died and you
- 22:06came back. Happy birthday.
- 22:10How long was this whole experience?
- 22:1115 minutes. 15 minutes. He says.
- 22:14And you peed in your pants. What?
- 22:21You're kidding me. Nope.
- 22:23It's that intense. Apparently.
- 22:26OK, what was it? DMT.
- 22:29Oh, it's I see. What?
- 22:30They call the toad. It's like, I don't know the
- 22:33highest level, but a very high level.
- 22:36By the way, was this person qualified?
- 22:39Did you trust this person or I? Trusted him 100%.
- 22:42I trusted him 100. Percent.
- 22:44So he knew what he was doing to this person because he could
- 22:46have given you anything. Correct.
- 22:47No, no, I know the guy. I know his history.
- 22:50I know enough about him. So that was your first?
- 22:52Exposure to psychic. Was hello not knowing I was
- 22:55doing? It, smoking it, inhaling 15
- 22:59minute experience, peeing in your pants.
- 23:02Peeing in my pants. You ever did it again?
- 23:04Or there was one time for this? One time.
- 23:05No, there's no trip in the world from a trip perspective, just as
- 23:10a trip ain't nothing like this. What else?
- 23:15I feel the same as I felt before, but OK and that's it.
- 23:22So what's the? Problem about a week later.
- 23:24About a week later, I'm driving on the Cross Bronx Expressway.
- 23:30Unless I get this feeling like I'm in a snow globe, like I know
- 23:36the car that's gonna come up on the side of me.
- 23:38I know the other car that's gonna come almost and I'm
- 23:42starting to feel weird in there. And I call this guy like I think
- 23:49I'm starting to understand because it bothered me for a
- 23:51week. What's this?
- 23:52Happy birthday? You said happy birthday.
- 23:56That's a real thing. And it bothered me for a week
- 23:59that I wasn't feeling like it's my birthday.
- 24:03And he told me it'll take you a week or two and it literally
- 24:06kicks in a week or two later when also your brain says, what
- 24:11was that? For me, it took a good year to
- 24:16unpack, a good year to unpack. I touched no other psychedelics
- 24:21or anything during that full year of just what was that?
- 24:27What did I just experience? I couldn't go back and pray
- 24:30normally and shul anymore. Just going to shul to say words.
- 24:35I couldn't do it anymore. I'm like, there's so much more
- 24:41if there's a connection and it is a way of letting go truly.
- 24:44And if prayers, what they say it is, which is letting go of my
- 24:47eye and just connecting and having a real thing, then I
- 24:51can't just go little, little, little, little, little bit of
- 24:54words and leave. That's wasting my time.
- 24:57I'm not interested. And I stopped diving, or I'd go
- 25:01to shul and I'd just meditate and I would do my own thing and
- 25:06I would just stand there quietly trying to get back some sort of
- 25:11that feeling of what I felt then.
- 25:13And I'd used prayer a lot at the time to reconnect to that type
- 25:18of feeling. I knew I didn't want to go back.
- 25:20I didn't have a desire to do it again.
- 25:22I was scared to do it again. I respected too much to do it a
- 25:25second time lightly from my perspective.
- 25:32So. And I knew there was so much to
- 25:35still unpack in in what I've seen and experienced in that 115
- 25:41minute trip, which was the world is all interconnected.
- 25:46You see the interconnection of everything.
- 25:50And like we say, connected to everything, attached to nothing,
- 25:56we're attached to another. That first feeling of nothing,
- 25:58nothing, nothing was letting go of every attachment I thought I
- 26:02had or knew and who I was and what I am and just letting go of
- 26:08that. And that's that.
- 26:09And that's what he meant. When we die, same thing happens.
- 26:13And the more we're attached to who we think we are, our lower
- 26:17case I, that's how is letting go of that.
- 26:21And a lot of people do DMT experiences and cry terribly
- 26:26during those first couple of minutes, letting go 'cause it's
- 26:29so hard. It's ripping apart who you think
- 26:31you are. And they call it God's molecule
- 26:35because you're letting go and you're just experiencing that.
- 26:39What we call in, in, in the the the language Khelikalakami
- 26:44Malmamish, which is a part of godliness inside of literally,
- 26:51literally, not just theoretically, that literal part
- 26:55of God inside us, you get to experience in that experience.
- 26:59And was that the end of your journey of psychedelics or the
- 27:01beginning? That was the beginning and the
- 27:05end of DMT. Got it.
- 27:07OK. So it came next.
- 27:09About four months later, this same guy calls me and says I've
- 27:13been watching your journey and I think it's time for the next.
- 27:18I said you might ever. Is he billing you for this?
- 27:22No, no. He's just looking out for me.
- 27:24Just a friend, OK? And this was me, another friend
- 27:28and him, and he's all dressed in white.
- 27:33Shaman all the way. Now we come in there, he does
- 27:36sage where he likes the word and sages the room and it smells
- 27:40great and I'm like OK, what are we doing now?
- 27:43He tells me ayahuasca. I said OK, tell me about it.
- 27:46He goes finest stuff because of course only the best and he's
- 27:52mixing teas and cooking up stuff And chef now yesterday was the
- 27:56chemist today he said chef, he's cooking up and he gives me this
- 28:02glass and takes out some ginger and tells me you're going to
- 28:06want this close right after you drink.
- 28:09It tastes like such crap that you're going to want to eat this
- 28:12real fast. And I said, OK, what's a good
- 28:18whatever you'll see it's me and a buddy and him and he drinks
- 28:22along in this case. So that was a good interesting
- 28:24question. He asked about it this time he
- 28:26was participating and I drink 1 cup and we're all sitting on the
- 28:32floor and nothing. The other guy starts starts
- 28:38vomiting and starts you know crying and making noise and I'm
- 28:43like chilling. I got nothing.
- 28:46I tell the guy dude. Second round.
- 28:49Second round Uno Mas. He brings me some more.
- 28:54He does. You're not going to eat more
- 28:55than it's 3:00 in the morning. I got nothing.
- 29:00Have the drink and pickups of it and you know, they call it in
- 29:05their language Mother Ayahuasca and Mother Earth and it's all
- 29:09part of that thing. I said Mommy's not letting me in
- 29:17and I take 1 and I lay down and he starts singing and all of a
- 29:30sudden my traumas from my dad, specifically all my negative
- 29:37feelings that I had for him for 45 years, bubbled up and turned
- 29:45positive almost. I saw him, I understood him, I
- 29:50appreciated him crying and I started to vomit and vomiting
- 29:56and that whole feeling and I knew what it was.
- 29:58It was clear it was like relationship with my dad and if
- 30:02you would have asked me what was the thing in my gut bothering me
- 30:06all the years, I would have said it with my mom's relationship.
- 30:09Wow. And in that, but not in a
- 30:12negative way, it didn't it present itself as you know, dad
- 30:19screwed you. It was he used every tool he had
- 30:24and he was the best dad in the world.
- 30:26But what you were missing was his recognition and his love.
- 30:30My relationship with my dad after that quadrupled in such a
- 30:36real way. I understood him in another way.
- 30:40The rest of the night, I had a weird trip where I had this
- 30:45vision of it was right when the Ukraine war started and they
- 30:51were talking nuclear. So I had this vision of the
- 30:54whole world that the first nuclear bomb going, and then
- 30:57it's just a reaction from the air, you know, where all the
- 31:00missiles are in the air at the same time.
- 31:03And then the whole world goes kaboom.
- 31:05And then I was just meeting all my friends in that realm.
- 31:10So that's where I was the rest of the night.
- 31:12How long after? The work event, for how long did
- 31:16it take? So I'm telling you, for me, we
- 31:17started probably ten, 11:00 at night, but it didn't kick in for
- 31:21me till three, 4:00 in the morning and then by seven, 8:00
- 31:24I was home. So it's a whole night event.
- 31:26Generally, right, most people do it two or three nights in a row.
- 31:31When you go to the Amazon and you do it like they do it
- 31:34originally, it's usually a two or three night event where they
- 31:37serve multiple times. There's multiple.
- 31:40People, is it dangerous in any which way?
- 31:42I can't speak to that. I can't speak to the.
- 31:45Has anybody had very adverse effects when they take an
- 31:47ayahuasca? When people go back for more and
- 31:50more, like anything else, like any other thing, if you take
- 31:55chemo and you don't need it, you're going to die from the
- 31:58chemo. And if you take a lot of chemo
- 32:00and you know you're going to die very fast from the chemo, is
- 32:02chemo dangerous? Is chemo, you know, it's like
- 32:06that. It's like any other drug that
- 32:08can be abused. So you're comparing ayahuasca to
- 32:10a medicine? Absolutely.
- 32:13It's it's referred to as plant medicine and that's why when
- 32:18it's used in its correct form, it's the most healing.
- 32:22But I've seen so much abuse of it by the shamans quote, UN
- 32:26quote, pushing it for financial agendas.
- 32:31So I I have to ask what led you then to wanting to do it,
- 32:34meaning a person listening to this podcast and understanding
- 32:37that Someone Like You who had such an interesting journey that
- 32:40went did ayahuasca, what are you telling them?
- 32:43Like when? When should you consider?
- 32:46Potential. How do you know you were a
- 32:47candidate, right? Exactly.
- 32:48Ayahuasca, or when you just stay away, right?
- 32:52When it's coming from a place of brokenness and you're looking to
- 32:55fill a void with any drug, stay away if it's coming because I'm
- 33:02so at loss. I don't know what to do with
- 33:04myself. That's going to just draw you in
- 33:07and you'll be back for more and more and more because you're not
- 33:09really healing. So what happened differently
- 33:12with you? When I was on that journey doing
- 33:15my meditations, reading the books, connecting to it
- 33:18reference and before all of this, this gave me clarity and
- 33:24definitely jump started and gave me, you know, rocket boosters in
- 33:28that home mindset. Supplemental.
- 33:30For him, it was more supplemental, like you say,
- 33:35rocket boosters, but it wasn't something I needed or wanted.
- 33:39That night after that ayahuasca, I told my wife I'm never doing
- 33:43that again. You did it once, one time.
- 33:45You would never do it again. I, I would never say never, but
- 33:49I have no desire at this moment to do it again.
- 33:52I'm very. So it wasn't fun.
- 33:55It wasn't, not at all. It wasn't memorable in a way
- 33:57that, wow, that was a good time we had.
- 33:58To no, no, the first thing I would tell you was the best trip
- 34:01ever. And if there's somebody, if
- 34:03there was one thing, I'm not saying that no, I'm scared of
- 34:06it. I respect it too much.
- 34:08I know what it's done for me with one and it's really given
- 34:12me like that, that clean slate, you know, to be able to listen
- 34:16and not try to fit everything I hear into those visions and
- 34:21feelings that I had growing up and judge every single thing
- 34:25that we hear. Does this fit into my my little
- 34:27box or does this not fit into my box?
- 34:29So who do you recommend should be doing?
- 34:32Who's the perfect candidate for this?
- 34:33What stage of your life? At what point of somebody who's
- 34:37very connected and somebody who feels very good about
- 34:39themselves, this could enhance them.
- 34:41Like who is this for? Then who should be doing
- 34:43ayahuasca? Because I feel like there's a
- 34:45lot of generic people that are just doing this.
- 34:47Like if they're doing it as an exercise or it's like an hobby,
- 34:50they just wanna have it Should. Not be done recreationally.
- 34:53Not be done. Recreationally, it should not be
- 34:55done recreationally it should be done by people who are searching
- 34:58for more and feel like they're stuck in any which way.
- 35:02Go to somebody that's good, that knows that will follow up with
- 35:06you afterwards. Biggest problem is that people
- 35:08are serving all over town, whether it's Williamsburg,
- 35:11Monroe, Lakewood, they're being, they call it serving in, in, in
- 35:16other drug language, they call it dealing here, they call it
- 35:19serving. But there are people serving in
- 35:21every from community that we have now everywhere, including
- 35:26Israel, everywhere it's being served to groups and groups of
- 35:32Hamisha and of people, every single.
- 35:35Week, Michael. We know someone.
- 35:37We know someone who does this. I think once a quarter.
- 35:41They do it four or five times a year they do this and they do it
- 35:43with a big group of people. They do it with like 20 people
- 35:47in the room and it's a 2 day event.
- 35:49It's not a night thing, just for one night, it's for two days and
- 35:52they swear by it. They say and and and.
- 35:54Living a very healthy life? Exactly.
- 35:56And they're searching. Constant journey of.
- 35:59If you're searching for more and it's true.
- 36:02That's sort of what I was asking.
- 36:03Who's the right candidate for this?
- 36:05If you're in a place in your life where your cup is fairly
- 36:09full, meaning you're not out there, you could have your other
- 36:13vices. We all have our other vices to
- 36:15fill our other void. This is not a void filler.
- 36:18If you're looking to fill a void with this, stay away because
- 36:22it'll just suck you in and you'll be there.
- 36:24And then you're just going to become a real weirdo because you
- 36:28go into this trip and you, you, you leave this world.
- 36:31But if you're a healthy human being and you're searching for
- 36:34more and you feel like in your DNA, you're somewhat stuck at a
- 36:39plateau where I can't see more than this.
- 36:42I can't see more than myself. I can't see more than my
- 36:46day-to-day. I can't see that there's a
- 36:48capital I that when I do a mitzvah and I'm putting on the
- 36:51film, it's my lowercase on behalf of my capital and
- 36:56understand that there is a capital and that when we're
- 36:58doing things from spiritual practices that it's on behalf of
- 37:02a greater cause. And I want to learn more about
- 37:06that. That I have a class that I go to
- 37:09that teaches me and this is an add on like you were saying yes.
- 37:14But also helps you deal with trauma of.
- 37:16Course, that's when it'll all come out.
- 37:19But if you're drilling from trauma to deal from trauma
- 37:21because you're as the therapist, I'm not qualified to talk which
- 37:25people that need therapy and which people it would benefit
- 37:29for. I don't know it's.
- 37:30A great background. I I just finish up this part of
- 37:33your journey, if you don't mind, because you, you took it, it was
- 37:36an experience, you never did it again.
- 37:37What changed? Everything, my vision of
- 37:44allowing things to unfold and realizing that everything is
- 37:47perfect at every moment and if I don't see it now, I will.
- 37:52That, like we said, connected to everything, attached to nothing.
- 37:58Tomorrow we can move away from each other because like the
- 38:02kaleidoscope, it always comes back.
- 38:05Those circles that spin, they just, you know, disconnect for a
- 38:09period of time, but they come back and that's really life.
- 38:13And really seeing the interconnectivity of everything
- 38:16was really mind blowing for me. Those colors, those shapes to me
- 38:21were really the interconnectivity of everything
- 38:24and seeing the perfectness of the Hashem Mihad of the one God
- 38:27in the world and the unity of the one God and seeing how the
- 38:32birds and the flowers are really one thing.
- 38:35Because without birds you wouldn't have without bees, you
- 38:38wouldn't have flowers, and without flowers you wouldn't
- 38:40have bees. And realizing that systems like
- 38:42that I really want. And you keep going wider and
- 38:47wider with that. There's no end.
- 38:50And that was the experience I experienced.
- 38:51That was the feeling I felt and that's the experience I took out
- 38:55of it. Good for you.
- 38:57Good for you, Aziz. It's beautiful.
- 38:59I think this really brings it all together.
- 39:01It explains a little bit. Now more.
- 39:04I have more clarity as to how you got here.
- 39:07And number one, you had a lot of experiences.
- 39:10I think that is very important. You can't learn from things if
- 39:13you don't have those moments. You've had those moments and you
- 39:16also were strong enough to not let those moments shut you down.
- 39:23You actually built on them. You accepted them and you took
- 39:27everything and connected at all and you learned a lesson from
- 39:30it. And then you followed it and you
- 39:31actually did it and you're executing on it.
- 39:34And you had the, you know, a lot of people would be blind to it
- 39:36and they wouldn't be to be miserable about it.
- 39:38And they would complain about it and then they would actually go
- 39:40into an escalation into a darker hole and go further and further.
- 39:44You're in a place where you're actually gonna, you can talk to
- 39:47other people about it and help them and you're in a much better
- 39:50place for it. And that's very commendable.
- 39:51I'm very impressed. And I really appreciate you
- 39:53sharing your story here. I know it's the first time
- 39:55you've ever done this publicly. It really is.
- 39:57And I people are in my circles and in many other circles are
- 40:01always talking about psychedelics.
- 40:03People are experiencing it. I am not shy about the fact that
- 40:05I go to therapy and I asked my therapist about it and it's a
- 40:09discussion. I have to say I've actually
- 40:11flown to Mexico to watch the experience of ayahuasca 'cause I
- 40:15was interested in it, but I decided it's not for.
- 40:18Oh, she I'm actually curious, is this something that you would?
- 40:22Well, I usually say yes to almost everything the first
- 40:24time, so I'm not saying that I'm opposed to it, but I've.
- 40:27Never. Are you?
- 40:27Are you ready to wet your pants? Have you tried shrooms?
- 40:31Maybe we should get him a Medline diaper perhaps?
- 40:34Oh, by the way, second time when I did the ayahuasca, he made me,
- 40:37he sent me the the, the the Walgreens.
- 40:40Pick up yourself. Before your second cup.
- 40:42Yeah, and, and and I wore it all night.
- 40:45I have a picture of myself wearing the diaper.
- 40:48Please share that with us. Absolutely.
- 40:49We'll, we'll put that out there. I want to tell you, Zeesh,
- 40:51there's so much that we did not cover that I would love to
- 40:54another time. I know that you're you're,
- 40:56you're very deep rooted spiritually.
- 40:57You wake up early in the morning, you go to the park, you
- 41:00dive in. You know the first opportunity
- 41:02you can in the most amazing Carla Bach minion available to
- 41:05men around the world, which is our Shlomo.
- 41:08Credit to them. Yeah, this was amazing.
- 41:12I mean, it was it was a good experience.
- 41:13Just listening to your experience.
- 41:15And we're learning a lot. It's the first time I ever heard
- 41:18the description of ayahuasca explained so eloquently.
- 41:21And now I have a better understanding of what it is.
- 41:24I think. Was she, you and I should
- 41:25explore this topic more with other people in the future?
- 41:28I think people would be interested.
- 41:30I know that I am. I I saw how Stefan was looking
- 41:32and listening to the story. There's no camera on me, but my
- 41:34mouth was wide open. We didn't take ayahuasca today,
- 41:40but we it really ends the little piece of it as you were
- 41:42describing. It it needs it needs its own
- 41:45podcast and out of respect for it, it needs its own
- 41:49conversation. I do want to mention.
- 41:51That it's not, you know, we touched on it.
- 41:54I'm not professional. I don't give opinions.
- 41:57I. I do want to mention talking.
- 41:59About my own experience. From, from that experience, I,
- 42:01I've, I've been on the journey also for a while of, you know,
- 42:04spiritual growth, emotional growth, physical, mental and all
- 42:07that. There are different levels.
- 42:10Just like you said you've tried DMT, there's breathing exercises
- 42:14that you could do. Can I tell you about that?
- 42:16Please, I heard about this as well.
- 42:19And that's at a minimal, without ingesting anything.
- 42:22You can go to a place of all that I'm.
- 42:23Saying there are there. Are things that people should
- 42:26consider. Decline has Mendy and Folly.
- 42:28His wife also does it for the women and Mendy does it for the
- 42:31men. Greatest couple, greatest guy,
- 42:34and he texts me this. We're doing a breathing group in
- 42:38Muncie. Would you join?
- 42:41Sure, I'll try anything. We come there.
- 42:45The most interesting group of people.
- 42:47Very super Hassidis, a non Jew doctor sitting right on the mat
- 42:54next to me. Some contractors.
- 42:56Not to edit that out, I don't think we should.
- 42:58It's. Point out people that went to a
- 43:00It's just. Breathing fine.
- 43:02It's just breathing. It's just breathing.
- 43:03It's fine. He's happy, he tells everybody.
- 43:05OK, don't edit OK. Edit this by that.
- 43:09Anyway, I'm laying there and he starts with, OK, breathe and
- 43:15you're going, hey, 1015 minutes and you know his music on and
- 43:20keep the rhythm. And it's about the rhythm.
- 43:22Never let the exhale and the inhale stop.
- 43:25Just keep that rhythm going and all.
- 43:28And he says and, and when I tell you the tone, it just means go,
- 43:32what are you talking about? But OK, anyway, he's doing it,
- 43:39doing it in a group of 15 people.
- 43:43That's how I hear people start crying, crying and crying and.
- 43:46While they're doing the breathing.
- 43:48And they're making noises, weird noise, and then he'll scream at
- 43:52this guy, David Tone, and yeah, he'll go.
- 43:56And then he'll stop screaming like he was.
- 43:59And I'm breathing again. Nothing.
- 44:03And all of a sudden I started laughing my asshole and God's
- 44:10laugh to to the extent that every time somebody cried, I'd
- 44:16burst. It was it.
- 44:19Was. It was something else.
- 44:21It was a new. Laugh that I never laughed
- 44:24before, at myself and at them for crying, and at Mendy for
- 44:30facilitating this whole thing and at the whole Muncie.
- 44:34I was just laughing. At Is that normal?
- 44:36Some people laugh from this. It you go into your deepest
- 44:39place and at that point I guess I was laughing deeply inside and
- 44:45that laugh that I had during a breath work ceremony was the
- 44:50best laugh I've ever had. Breath work didn't really work.
- 44:52It's it's a real thing, but it usually takes people the other
- 44:55way. To me personally, I had the
- 44:57funniest experience and then I went back to him to do it
- 45:02privately one time, just one-on-one breathing session,
- 45:05same thing, I got nowhere. No, I don't know about your
- 45:08experience of a boat. So it was right after I'd sold
- 45:11my company and money was free, you know, there was money in the
- 45:15bank account for the first time, you know.
- 45:17When was? The Money, 2015.
- 45:21OK. Do you?
- 45:22So what kind of company did you have that you sold?
- 45:24It was BSD care. It was a medical equipment
- 45:26company selling 2 nursing homes. Oh, interesting.
- 45:29So you sold that company to who? Twin Med.
- 45:31Oh wow. California.
- 45:33Oh, so do they still have this company?
- 45:35Do they keep it active or are they just like merging in with
- 45:37twin Med they? Over four or five years, they
- 45:40blended it in with another company that they purchased as
- 45:43well. Wow, was it like a public sale
- 45:45or was this like behind closed doors?
- 45:47No, it was very public. We switched our name from BSD
- 45:50Care to Twymed at the time. Was there an amount that was
- 45:54exposed? Do people know how much the sale
- 45:55was? It wasn't exposed, no.
- 45:57So how much was it? Do people know or some people
- 46:01know? The people that benefited from
- 46:04it obviously know lamely, the lawyers.
- 46:09That's why can. I can I give a number?
- 46:12Can I give one? I'm not going to expect you to
- 46:14tell us exactly how much the sale was, but can I give one
- 46:17number and you just say higher? Or lower, Absolutely.
- 46:20I can do that, absolutely. OK, now the pressure was on.
- 46:22You better pick a good. One I better I have to go
- 46:25reasonable like I, I don't think you sold it for $100 million.
- 46:27I think we would all know about that if you did.
- 46:31So I'm going to go, I'm going to go 12 and a half million.
- 46:34I like that number. Great number less.
- 46:37OK. But.
- 46:39OK, so less than 12 1/2. OK, so it wasn't generational
- 46:43wealth that you sold your company for, but you sold it for
- 46:46a nice chunk of change. And what was your plan when you
- 46:49were selling this company? What were you going to do?
- 46:50Did you have nothing going on at the time?
- 46:52You're like, I'm just going to settle down with this money and
- 46:54passively invest it? Or did you like go back into
- 46:57another line that what was your plan after you sold it?
- 47:00At the time, the plan was to stay on with them.
- 47:04Twin Med was looking to grow out this division of their company.
- 47:09To me, it was quick cash in the bank with consistent income
- 47:15coming in. We had a great employment
- 47:17agreement going forward. It worked out well and we did
- 47:21well together for three years, 3 1/2 years, which at that point
- 47:25it became too much. And everybody had told me ahead
- 47:28of time, Aziz, if you last 18 months, you'll be lucky.
- 47:32We actually did 3 1/2 years. We did very well and.
- 47:37Well, was it A1 sum, like a lump sum that they paid you?
- 47:40Or was it over time that they were still buying you out?
- 47:44It was split into payments. The initial 80% was lump sum.
- 47:49The last 20% or don't quote me on the numbers, but it was 2520%
- 47:55was an earn out so long as we hit specific numbers as we went
- 48:00over the next 18 months I believe it was and every six
- 48:04months we we got. Paid you got that 80% you first
- 48:08thing you did was buy a boat. I'm very curious.
- 48:10Pretty much. And a car.
- 48:12And a car. What did you get?
- 48:13Range Rover Sport SVR Red Sea. Wow, loved it.
- 48:17White. Wow, very important.
- 48:20You bought it cash. You paid it out.
- 48:22Yeah, they leased them. They didn't lose the.
- 48:24They only made 212 of them. A wow world that you so it was a
- 48:27limited edition. It was a limited edition Zach
- 48:30Schwebel, best car dealer. His office was next door to mine
- 48:34at the time. He called me literally on a
- 48:36Friday afternoon. We had signed the docs on Friday
- 48:38morning. He called me Friday's dish.
- 48:40I have this crazy car just came in.
- 48:42Yes. Were you actively looking to
- 48:46sell your company at the time or did it fall in your lap like
- 48:48somebody approached you thought about?
- 48:50It no, they approached us. We were not looking to sell at
- 48:53the time. We were actually cash flow
- 48:55positive. And if you'd asked me today, was
- 48:57it a mistake? Am I glad?
- 48:59My next question. Obviously, you know, I don't
- 49:03regret anything in life, so I don't have to look back at
- 49:06anything and say, oh, not for XY and Z, things would be
- 49:11different. You don't regret anything in
- 49:13life 0 because you've taught yourself not to regret, or
- 49:15because you truly don't regret things.
- 49:18Because I truly don't regret every single thing that I've
- 49:22experienced as a negativity in my life, whatever it was, 99% of
- 49:29them by now, once you're five years removed from that, you
- 49:32say, oh gosh, thank God for that day.
- 49:34If not for that day, my worst day then was my best day,
- 49:38really, if I look at it. And then when you managed to
- 49:40pull that five years to four years, then to three years, then
- 49:44to two years and realize you're gonna say it in five years
- 49:46anyway, 99% of the things that happened, negative experiences
- 49:51in your life, you can look back to today and say I experienced
- 49:55it at negative at the time it was painful, not taken away from
- 49:58the pain at the time, definitely painful.
- 50:00But today, thank God that happened.
- 50:02Because where would I be today if not for that extremely
- 50:06painful, life changing thing that shook my world and my very
- 50:12essence and my core. And at the time I thought that
- 50:15was it. Looking back five years later,
- 50:18we say thank God we were removed from that situation by force,
- 50:23kicking and screaming generally, but thank God.
- 50:26So when you can move that five years and keep moving it closer
- 50:30to the now and saying so I'm experiencing pain now and I know
- 50:35in five years I'm gonna say this was a great day.
- 50:39If I can say it now, that's taking every experience and and
- 50:44turning it into the positive. Yeah, that's not easy to do, but
- 50:48I certainly hear what you're saying and it's I think that's a
- 50:51great way to look at things, a really good way to look at
- 50:54things. I find it's the first thought in
- 50:56the morning, the first initial thought, the maidani before
- 50:59Nagalasa that. First thought in Washington.
- 51:02Nagalasa every morning next to your bed.
- 51:04No, not yet You. Never do that at any point in
- 51:07your. Yeah, sure, when you.
- 51:09Were thirteen years old. When I was 13 years old.
- 51:11Do people in general do that today?
- 51:14Like do you think adults have Natal vascular next to their
- 51:16bed? Because supposedly that is
- 51:18something that you're supposed to do.
- 51:19That's like not an option that's supposed that's mandatory, but I
- 51:22I don't know how many people practice that.
- 51:23It's something to strive for. It's something that you'd want
- 51:27to do. It doesn't mean you have to do
- 51:29it today. I mean something you're bringing
- 51:32it up, so it's obviously a thing in your mind.
- 51:35It is. It really wasn't just you
- 51:36brought it up and. Now you have.
- 51:38Last time I heard that word, but now that I'm here.
- 51:40Just just so you know, we've been asked in the past to
- 51:42describe it. We have a lot of non Jewish
- 51:44listeners I want to say, and people have asked us to describe
- 51:47when we ever said we say something Jewish to describe
- 51:49what it is. So what you guys are discussing
- 51:53is when you wake up in the morning, it's important to rid
- 51:55yourself of that bad spiritual omen.
- 51:59Perhaps is the easier, do you think?
- 52:02Is a small part of you is truly dead, right?
- 52:06And that's impure, like a dead body is a pure thing, right?
- 52:09So when you sleep, they say you're 1/6 of being dead.
- 52:13So therefore you're in an impure state and you have to wash
- 52:17yourself with water to wash your hands, wash your hands to purify
- 52:22yourself. First thing you do when you wake
- 52:23up, you roll over and I was on the floor you have prepared for.
- 52:26What we were taught is to have a bucket by the cup, but what we.
- 52:29Do is we go to the sink, we walk to the sink and we just wash
- 52:32our. Hands, there are many people
- 52:33that have it next to their bed. I want to tell you not I don't
- 52:35know any of them, but I do rent out an apartment I have in
- 52:38Israel and whenever I go there there's tons of buckets and
- 52:42washing cups everywhere. I've gone to a Hasidic weekend
- 52:46in a hotel and when you check in, you know, you get your bag,
- 52:49your goodie bag of for the weekend.
- 52:51They were piles of these hundreds of these.
- 52:55Every single kid, man, woman, everybody took their what we
- 53:00call Nagel Vasa shifts, washing cup, washing cup and basin to
- 53:04have it at their bedside. I even saw they came up with a
- 53:06new patent on it. They have one that doesn't spray
- 53:11back when you pour. So it has like this really cool
- 53:15bottom that's. Oh, you're saying so the the
- 53:18impure water doesn't jump back? Because usually when you're
- 53:21pouring your half your car right, it gets wet next to you.
- 53:24So they figured out a way to stop the splash.
- 53:27This reminds me of a joke by the way.
- 53:29I do this once a podcast. Usually I come in a joke and you
- 53:31just lay there in the podcast. That's a good sign.
- 53:35It's a very good sign. I.
- 53:36Apologize if it's so soon, but I have to say it.
- 53:38So in high school, you know, the teenagers, the boys always
- 53:41teasing each other, right? So one boy took his, the, the
- 53:45nasal bouncer cup, right? And the wash cup filled it with
- 53:48water and he went and he poured it on another boy and made him
- 53:51all wet. And he was really upset.
- 53:53He was really mad, so he wanted it.
- 53:54He wanted to get him back. So he goes quickly.
- 53:56He fills up a couple water stuff running after him, and the boy's
- 53:58running away. And as he's running away, he
- 54:00yells back. He says in the comma, In the
- 54:02comma, I mean, you're not allowed to do revenge in the
- 54:04Jewish tradition. You can't do revenge.
- 54:05He said, no, no, no, no, no. This is a new fight.
- 54:07I'm starting a new fight now. This is nothing to do with the
- 54:09old spot. I'm starting a new one.
- 54:11That's what it is, right? Good.
- 54:13That's good. By the way, that's a nice
- 54:15concept, not doing revenge on someone.
- 54:18That's very hard to do. My instinct every, every fiber
- 54:22in my body. Like when someone does something
- 54:24to me, I feel like I have to respond.
- 54:26I feel like I immediately have to go right back at them.
- 54:29Like I can't let them slide. And I think that it's a struggle
- 54:32for a lot of people. And this is one of the things in
- 54:34my religion. I think that is one of the more
- 54:36difficult things to do is to get to a place where you don't feel
- 54:40the need to always respond to people.
- 54:42You can let something, you can swallow something and take the
- 54:45bullet, bite the bullet and not respond back.
- 54:47Very difficult thing to do. I really suck at this.
- 54:50This is, for me, one of my big, big challenges.
- 54:53For example, we were in a restaurant, Michael, a couple
- 54:55days ago. You weren't there.
- 54:56Actually, we had a company meeting there and we were at a
- 54:59table and we were like six or seven people and we were being a
- 55:03little bit rowdy, but not disrespectfully rowdy.
- 55:06We were just having a good time, you know, talking amongst each
- 55:08other. And somebody walked over our
- 55:10table and asked us if we can quiet down and said, you're
- 55:14disturbing my meal, can you please take the?
- 55:17Michael, we've had that mother. Take downtown.
- 55:20His response we've had? Now it happens to me.
- 55:24We were just finishing up. We were literally ready to leave
- 55:26anyway. In a minute or two we were
- 55:28leaving. So, but I was burning inside.
- 55:31I was like, who does this guy think he is?
- 55:33How dare him coming over to me in a restaurant, in a public
- 55:36place where this is not a library.
- 55:38This is what it's for. It's for people that come
- 55:40together, eat good food and talk and have a good time.
- 55:43And he's coming to me and telling me to be quiet.
- 55:45Who's it? And I immediately thought, like,
- 55:47how am I going to respond to this?
- 55:48And. And I said, you know what?
- 55:49I I actually didn't respond at all.
- 55:50I said, OK, no problem. Yeah, we're actually leaving in
- 55:53a couple of minutes. And that was that.
- 55:54But when I walked out of the restaurant, I turned to Maishi,
- 55:57and I said, you know, I really want to go back inside.
- 55:59I really want to go tell him something.
- 56:00I really want to go understand, like where he was coming from.
- 56:03Like what did you mean I wanted to do that?
- 56:05Did you? I didn't.
- 56:06Could we, could we make believe I'm that person?
- 56:07Because I want to defend that person.
- 56:09You want to defend that person? Worse, I want to ask one
- 56:11question, by the way, a couple of months ago, there was an
- 56:12influencer who was in a restaurant and there was an out
- 56:16there and a baby. It's like 93010 o'clock.
- 56:20And this couple doesn't have babies.
- 56:22Trying to enjoy dinner and this couple that bought the baby.
- 56:26You just. Wail it can't stop crying.
- 56:31The other couple. What are you doing?
- 56:36We're trying to eat here. Why'd you bring your baby?
- 56:38How'd you delete? Maybe I don't.
- 56:39I'm just curious. What are you done with you?
- 56:42Well it depends if you go into a high end restaurant like a
- 56:45reserve. This was a high end restaurant.
- 56:47It was a high end restaurant. This wasn't like and you bring
- 56:49the. Castle, this was going to.
- 56:50You bring the baby. Yeah, it's frowned upon.
- 56:52It's not proper etiquette to bring your baby to a high end
- 56:55restaurant, OK. So you were that baby whaling,
- 56:56no? No, but this wasn't that kind of
- 56:58restaurant. This was a cafe.
- 57:00This was not a high end restaurant.
- 57:01It was as small as we were in Al de la OK, we're in ALDI, La.
- 57:04So in ALDI, La, it's a smaller room so everybody can hear
- 57:07everything. Not a cafe.
- 57:08That's a cafe with a. Little bit of a higher end Cafe
- 57:10A. Little bit of a higher.
- 57:11End Cafe. Aren't all cafes like a little
- 57:13bit high end? Theory doesn't make it a cafe,
- 57:17by the way, would be very. Regardless, if you were in a
- 57:20Starbucks, you'd also be expected to be quiet.
- 57:22So regardless, at the end of the day, if you want to make noise,
- 57:24go to a private room. They don't have private room.
- 57:27So then don't go to that restaurant or, or just don't
- 57:29scream. It's an issue.
- 57:30It's a challenge. Imagine you had an anniversary
- 57:32with something special to go out to a nice restaurant and you're
- 57:34sitting there and then there's five guys talking business.
- 57:36They're laughing and screaming. By the way, I could not disagree
- 57:39more. I think you're way off on this.
- 57:41I think you're absolutely crazy because the bottom line is when
- 57:44you go to a restaurant, there's no rules and regulations about
- 57:46how high or how low I can speak. Excuse me?
- 57:49You come over to my table to tell me to be quiet, tell me how
- 57:51low I should speak, like what my acting level should be.
- 57:54Mind your own business. Let's let's get into The Who the
- 57:57I is. Who?
- 57:59Who's who's the I that? Let him have it.
- 58:02I he said something to you so 'cause see, this isn't there's
- 58:05something called Hishtava's equanimity.
- 58:08Equanimity is the idea that you can't insult me and you can't
- 58:12compliment. My cup is so full with who I am
- 58:16and I'm so confident in myself that your compliments mean
- 58:20absolutely nothing and therefore your insults mean absolutely
- 58:24nothing. Every time somebody is sharing a
- 58:26compliment or an insult with you, they're just sharing how
- 58:29they feel inside. It has zero to do with you,
- 58:33really. Who's the I that he's talking
- 58:36to? I should be quiet.
- 58:39Let let's let's define who that. I.
- 58:41Is because that's where we get stuck in really thinking that
- 58:45that I is maybe bigger or. Or or greater.
- 58:48I'm not talking about. I'm representing anybody that
- 58:51goes to a rescue. We got that.
- 58:52But that's anybody that says something to somebody else and
- 58:56triggers a negative response. It could be a guy shush kinning
- 59:00somebody in shul the middle of laning.
- 59:02Which is the first, the worst. By the way, those guys supersede
- 59:05this guy, correct? That guy's worse than this guy
- 59:08in the I'll. Agree with you.
- 59:10On that, the worst. The worst game of negative
- 59:14energy ping pong. Get started who you just tell me
- 59:18to shut up you that back and forth negative energy from 1
- 59:21shishka middle of the. What did you call it?
- 59:23A shishka. Shishka.
- 59:24Oh, that's a a person does SH in a in a shrimp.
- 59:27I didn't know it's called the shishka.
- 59:28Somebody shishka's you you never heard.
- 59:30That no it's someone shishes. You, you're over 40 years old,
- 59:32shishes You, you're over 40 years old, Shishka.
- 59:35You've never heard that term. You never heard that term?
- 59:37No, never. I have made it up, but yeah.
- 59:40I heard of Pushka. Right, a pushka.
- 59:43Interesting. So what is that a knee jerk
- 59:48response when somebody shush Kazasan Shul?
- 59:51And that knee jerk response of who are you to tell me what to
- 59:54do? Where do?
- 59:55You come off. Where do you come off?
- 59:57Telling me to be quieter in a restaurant?
- 59:59You're telling me you're, you're, you're touching my eye,
- 1:00:04my capital, I, my lowercase, I whoever I perceive myself as at
- 1:00:08this moment. You're touching that somehow and
- 1:00:11therefore I have a knee jerk reaction.
- 1:00:13I need to respond to that. So first let's decide what's
- 1:00:17that? What's he touching?
- 1:00:18He is there always a wrong There's there's.
- 1:00:22Does there always have to be that concept, the conceptual eye
- 1:00:26that you're trying to say right now?
- 1:00:27Could it be that sometimes it's really not about what you're
- 1:00:31saying about me looking at who who are you?
- 1:00:33You have to now ask yourself that question.
- 1:00:36Could it be that there really is a right and a wrong between two
- 1:00:39people? And the person that's saying you
- 1:00:40shouldn't be doing this isn't necessarily just making it about
- 1:00:43himself. It's not because he has an eye
- 1:00:45problem. It's because it really is wrong
- 1:00:47and that other person is. Is that other person is the
- 1:00:52problem? Could it be that that other
- 1:00:53person really is the problem? Absolutely.
- 1:00:56But before we go over to that person, if we would ask
- 1:00:59ourselves three times, is this because it's bothering me or
- 1:01:04because there's a right or wrong?
- 1:01:06That's what I'm trying to do. Because we can all tell
- 1:01:09ourselves stories about what's right or wrong and convince
- 1:01:12ourselves really fast and it's just a story we just told
- 1:01:16ourselves above situation. You were sitting there having a
- 1:01:20good time with a group of guys that just was that just is a
- 1:01:23situation. Another guy grew up comes in
- 1:01:25with another group of friends. He's so excited that there's
- 1:01:27another group of guys making noise.
- 1:01:29He can make noise with his friends.
- 1:01:30He's so excited that there's a group of guys like you in there.
- 1:01:34I could walk in there with Michael, join you guys.
- 1:01:36We're so excited to see another guy walks in and is trying to
- 1:01:39have dinner and is having a miserable time.
- 1:01:42What's the? Truth of the matter, if you just
- 1:01:44strip it down, no ego, What's the truth?
- 1:01:47Is it a beautiful situation? Me and Michael walked in there.
- 1:01:49We were thrilled. We love the situation.
- 1:01:52That's it and the vibe and the energy.
- 1:01:53Another guy walks in and he's miserable.
- 1:01:56He comes over here, Please lower it.
- 1:01:58What's the truth? Truth.
- 1:02:00Truth of the situation. Is it a beautiful situation or
- 1:02:03is it a miserable situation? It's neither.
- 1:02:06It just is asking me to. It's it's, it's you're
- 1:02:09overlaying a story over the situation and he's overlaying a
- 1:02:13story. You're asking me to be a little
- 1:02:15bit more compassionate, a little bit more understanding that
- 1:02:17perhaps this gentleman was having a really bad day.
- 1:02:20Not even, not even I'm telling you that he's telling himself a
- 1:02:24story about the situation and he's sharing the story that he's
- 1:02:27telling himself with you. And now you're taking that and
- 1:02:30saying I have to respond to that.
- 1:02:32I do have to respond. I don't regret that I I actually
- 1:02:35regret. Clarify if you're going out to a
- 1:02:36restaurant, you're making noise and everyone's making noise and
- 1:02:38the music is loud. That's normal.
- 1:02:40I if I know I'm making noise, I'm not a restaurant that's
- 1:02:42loud. But anyways, Zish, 10 years ago
- 1:02:44you would not have spoken like this.
- 1:02:45I just, I, I, I want to say the 10 years ago Zish that I know
- 1:02:49would have been right on Oshi's side.
- 1:02:51So I'm curious what happened. Ten years ago I was at a
- 1:02:56friend's Vachnach and Barbach smoking a cigarette.
- 1:03:00Explain Michael Vachnach this. The night before the kid gets
- 1:03:04circumcised. Inside because I was a big shot
- 1:03:07doing my thing and the baby was in the hall and some older guy
- 1:03:11comes over and goes, you're smoking in the hall.
- 1:03:15I'm like, mind your own business.
- 1:03:17Same, same knee jerk reaction. I was so wrong at the time.
- 1:03:22Looking back now, but at the time, who are you to tell me
- 1:03:26what to do? It's a big room.
- 1:03:31What changed was a series of life events.
- 1:03:35You know that I've gone through personally, financially, real
- 1:03:42roller coasters in my life that we're resetting.
- 1:03:46They gave me an opportunity of a 2.0 that very few people
- 1:03:52actually have the ability to once we start off our life, to
- 1:03:57switch gears in middle and make radical change very difficult
- 1:04:05and you become weird. But when you go through any type
- 1:04:09of, you know, traumatic event in your life, everybody gets it.
- 1:04:14Oh, 2.0 makes sense. And you get a chance to be
- 1:04:19whoever you want to be in that one because at one point, though
- 1:04:23it was driven by at 8 days old, they give us a name and that's
- 1:04:27the name we carry. We don't choose it.
- 1:04:30And then from then on, they tell us which school we're going to
- 1:04:33and what we're expected and what's expected of us until we
- 1:04:38get to some point in life. We say whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
- 1:04:41whoa. I'm just being guided.
- 1:04:43Very rarely do we have the opportunity to say, whoa, whoa,
- 1:04:45whoa, whoa, let me make a change here in my life because we got
- 1:04:50in the religious community. When it goes from high school to
- 1:04:54studying abroad, coming home, expecting to get married, doing
- 1:04:58your thing, there's no time in there to stop and adjust.
- 1:05:02Hey, where do I really want to be?
- 1:05:04And that's how I found in my life.
- 1:05:05I'm not talking for everybody to really re evaluate and say is
- 1:05:12this where I want to be fully and is this where I'm expressing
- 1:05:15myself fully? Is my light shining here fully?
- 1:05:19We don't get to. I was five years and five
- 1:05:22children in before I got to turn around and say one second, this
- 1:05:28system itself is a beautiful, wonderful system I'm living in,
- 1:05:32but it just doesn't work for me. And being able to walk away from
- 1:05:37that and it with the greatest respect for it and say, you know
- 1:05:43what? But I'm going to have to find my
- 1:05:44own way because I've tried this for 35 years, 40 years, and it's
- 1:05:49now working for me. I don't find myself like
- 1:05:53Michael, you asked me 10 years ago.
- 1:05:54I wasn't. I was at my worst stage.
- 1:05:57I was seeking to fill every void with every negative vice I can
- 1:06:04find came a point where I said if this continues, I'm going to
- 1:06:10be dead and I'm worthless to everybody dead.
- 1:06:13So unless I do something very, very radical, I'm going to I'm
- 1:06:19worthless. At that point is when I moved
- 1:06:22out of Brooklyn, moved on from my previous marriage.
- 1:06:28I can say today without it's five years later without one
- 1:06:33minute of drama for Kasha learning a bris for those that
- 1:06:38care. But in the Ivy League schools in
- 1:06:42the system that they're in doing phenomenally well in that.
- 1:06:48We can talk about that part of my life.
- 1:06:50But generally when those types of things happen at that same
- 1:06:54exact time, when I've made that very, very difficult decision at
- 1:06:59that point to make that change, tremendous business.
- 1:07:02It was a few years after I had sold my business.
- 1:07:06I was doing well at the time. I walked away from my marriage
- 1:07:09with my hands up and just said, you know, keep everything,
- 1:07:11you're everything. I'm just going to excuse myself.
- 1:07:16You left her everything. Everything.
- 1:07:18So the cash, the house, whatever assets you had, all of it.
- 1:07:23All of anything other than the actual equities in the
- 1:07:27businesses I own. I have to tell you, I've been
- 1:07:31involved in people that have been getting divorced and I've
- 1:07:33asked people to speak to you. And I've heard you say this in
- 1:07:36the past. And I'm, I'm proud to call you a
- 1:07:39friend and say the following comment that when men and women
- 1:07:43go through the challenge of a divorce and a lot of it has to
- 1:07:46do with money, your philosophy that I've heard you say is give,
- 1:07:50just give, give, give and move on and you'll get back what's
- 1:07:54meant for for. If you want to keep your ex
- 1:07:56miserable, stay married. It's much cheaper.
- 1:08:03It's a great line, by the way. That's why he had very little
- 1:08:06drama is because of that approach of.
- 1:08:07Course, of course, that's the reason why.
- 1:08:09And I've, I've heard you tell this to people and I've, I've
- 1:08:11seen people not listen to you and create tremendous drama
- 1:08:14where the kids get affected by it.
- 1:08:16It's and it's possible. If your ex is happy, your
- 1:08:18children are happy, you're happy, your ex is miserable,
- 1:08:21your children are miserable, you're miserable.
- 1:08:23It's every single time. You'll never see that train
- 1:08:27late. Wow, ever did you?
- 1:08:29When you decided you and your ex-wife that you were getting
- 1:08:32divorced, were you both on the same page about that?
- 1:08:35Like you knew it was time? Or was it one more than the
- 1:08:37other? Not fully.
- 1:08:38She wasn't fully on board like I was at the time.
- 1:08:44However, we've been to multiple therapists and and.
- 1:08:48So you tried, you put the effort in to try to keep that and then
- 1:08:52did you tell your children 1 by 1?
- 1:08:54Did you bring them all into room at the same time?
- 1:08:56How did you deliver the message? So I had decided that I was
- 1:09:01going to move out of the house after PESA, so I had gotten a
- 1:09:05apartment in Flappos, couple blocks away from them.
- 1:09:09I had rented a apartment. I'd gotten the furniture
- 1:09:12pictures, hung them on the wall of all my kids, showed them the
- 1:09:17apartment, brought each one of them to the apartment
- 1:09:20beforehand. And as a family with my ex, we
- 1:09:24all went to Orlando for Pesach, all of them knowing that when we
- 1:09:28come home, Tati's not coming home.
- 1:09:32He's going to move into what we called the dira, and Tati's
- 1:09:36going to move to the dira, and everybody else is going to move
- 1:09:39home. But this is our Pesach together.
- 1:09:42It's like a final. It was a.
- 1:09:44Final outing and it was the most beautiful Yanter and everybody
- 1:09:48knew. Wasn't a sad environment.
- 1:09:51It wasn't, it wasn't. It was actually a very positive
- 1:09:54environment. We we had all the meals, the
- 1:09:57Sadaram, everything together and everybody knew that when we come
- 1:10:02home, Tati's going to the Deira. How old was your oldest at the
- 1:10:06time? How old so?
- 1:10:10So they knew exactly what was going.
- 1:10:12On Yeah, Yeah. And how old was your youngest?
- 1:10:145. OK.
- 1:10:16And then you had four in between, 3 in between, 3 in
- 1:10:19between. Wow.
- 1:10:21So in hindsight, just just goes back to what you said in the
- 1:10:23very beginning, not having regrets is that everything,
- 1:10:26including the negative things that happened in your life is a
- 1:10:29part of who you've become. It's all a cultivation of ending
- 1:10:32up where you are today. These were all stepping stones
- 1:10:35to where you ended up landing. So that's why you don't have
- 1:10:37regrets. But I, you know, it's hard to
- 1:10:39imagine a thing like this, which must have been so difficult for
- 1:10:42you at the time. Getting divorced is always
- 1:10:44challenging. But when you have kids, then
- 1:10:46five kids, there's a lot of kids and it's got to be really tough.
- 1:10:50It's got to be so tough. And you see if you're one of the
- 1:10:53most positive people I know in general, like, I don't even know
- 1:10:56the side of your story. I'm learning about this now and
- 1:10:57I'm very intrigued and I have a lot more questions.
- 1:10:59And you're very open about it, which is, which is amazing.
- 1:11:03But you are in general, somebody who smiles a lot, you laugh a
- 1:11:06lot. You always have a joke to say to
- 1:11:07everyone. And you, you have a lot of pain
- 1:11:10in your past. You have a lot and you overcome
- 1:11:12it. I'm, I'm very impressed.
- 1:11:13I'm really impressed with you. And this I'm, I'd love to take a
- 1:11:17page out of your book. I'd love to really get, get In
- 1:11:19Sync with whatever it is that you're doing.
- 1:11:21And other people should as well. Other people should take away
- 1:11:24from this. You're, you're a guy that's you
- 1:11:25had struggles. You've had real struggles.
- 1:11:27Let's move past the divorce for a second.
- 1:11:28I want to get back to it soon, but the divorce was one real
- 1:11:32painful part for you in your past.
- 1:11:33What else? What's another thing?
- 1:11:34It was very hard for you. Let's jump into Epic.
- 1:11:42There was a company called Epic that I started.
- 1:11:47We can get into the history of how it started and but fresh
- 1:11:50Fish distribution cup after I sold my business.
- 1:11:55That was the first thing you did after you sold.
- 1:11:57After you bought a boat, he bought a company.
- 1:11:59And the car and. You bought another company?
- 1:12:02I started a company. Oh, he started another scratch
- 1:12:04from scratch called Epic. Called Epic.
- 1:12:07I rented a warehouse that was an old mechanic's garage, redid it,
- 1:12:12created prep rooms and walk in freezers and walk in fridge,
- 1:12:16refrigerated, bought trucks, leased machines, wrapping
- 1:12:21machines and I found two guys, 1 from 2 different companies put
- 1:12:25them together. So you guys have been doing this
- 1:12:27for 20 years each you guys want to do this together?
- 1:12:31Sure, let's do this. They started off with $4 million
- 1:12:35in sales. They each had millions of their
- 1:12:38connection and it was great. It was first week I'm in there
- 1:12:43other than it stunk so bad. Other than this, my car had fish
- 1:12:48scales on the bottom and I walked out of the prep room.
- 1:12:51Always this. Always has a.
- 1:12:54It's wrong. But I'm walking in the prep room
- 1:12:57and I see cases and boxes and orders, 30 orders, you know,
- 1:13:02every restaurant, every cater, every, you know, groceries
- 1:13:07everywhere. They were pounding fish Years.
- 1:13:10This is going on about 3-4 years.
- 1:13:14I got the bars. I used to be there every morning
- 1:13:17at 5:00 in the morning. It was around the corner from my
- 1:13:19house. It's on Locust Ave.
- 1:13:21E 15th St. and I used to be there every morning.
- 1:13:25I got remarried and moved to Muncie and stopped coming in as
- 1:13:29much. And one day I look at the bank
- 1:13:34two weeks, not even two weeks after I got remarried and moving
- 1:13:39in, living in Muncie and I see there's no deposits in the bank.
- 1:13:44Every day they deposit in the bank one day, 2 day.
- 1:13:47And I asked one of the partners, I said, hey, no deposits.
- 1:13:52He goes, oh, they were. We deposited a different
- 1:13:55account. I had put in almost $2,000,000,
- 1:14:033 1/2 four years in. Yeah, read to my lawyer.
- 1:14:11Stop it over the phone, read to my lawyer.
- 1:14:14And then I speak to my lawyer and I'm like, this is
- 1:14:18everything's in my name. Like the lease is in my name and
- 1:14:21a, you know what's going on here?
- 1:14:25This we don't need you anymore. You're out.
- 1:14:30I was 60% the owner. I gave them each 20% at the time
- 1:14:34and you're out. And if you want, here's my
- 1:14:38lawyer. I call my lawyer and I'm like,
- 1:14:42what's going on? We go to a conference with their
- 1:14:45lawyer and my lawyer walks out and says, Zish, what's the
- 1:14:49minimum you're going to take you would take to walk away from
- 1:14:52this hope that's a bio. I'm like, you're fired, right?
- 1:14:58I don't know you that as my lawyer, that's the question you
- 1:15:02have for me. I said we're not fighting, We're
- 1:15:05not going to kill them. We're not going to.
- 1:15:06You're already. Settling the first.
- 1:15:08You're asking me in my first question, he goes.
- 1:15:12We can go the other way. But Zish, I'm asking you a
- 1:15:15question. And I had one friend and I
- 1:15:18literally fired him at the time and I walked away and I said I'm
- 1:15:20going to go get myself another attorney.
- 1:15:22This makes no sense. Me, me.
- 1:15:25I took them literally off the streets and built the company my
- 1:15:29own bare hands. We're doing 4 or 5 million in
- 1:15:31sales a year now And now what? And until I had a friend come
- 1:15:37over, see this friend and he tell the musician, I have one
- 1:15:40piece of advice for you. Your best win at the end is
- 1:15:46going to be worse than your worst settlement today.
- 1:15:51Whatever you anticipate, your best win at the end of the game,
- 1:15:56whatever you're going to get at the end is going to be worse
- 1:16:00than your worst settlement that you wouldn't think of doing
- 1:16:03today. Just walk away.
- 1:16:07I said from $2,000,000, walk away.
- 1:16:09Walk away, Sesia. If you figured out how to make
- 1:16:11it once, you'll figure out how to make it again.
- 1:16:13Walk away from what I mean does the store isn't your name right?
- 1:16:17Figured out how to wrap it up at that point.
- 1:16:19It was right in the beginning of COVID when this all hit.
- 1:16:22They had just gotten 100 grand. Whatever COVID money first thing
- 1:16:28or whatever PPP that actually hit that account, I told them
- 1:16:33I'm sending you a document. I'm taking this 100 grand as
- 1:16:36payment and I know nothing. Everything else is on you moving
- 1:16:39forward. Thank God they ended up moving
- 1:16:42out of that building. It was actually a friend of mine
- 1:16:44who owned it. There was a landlord.
- 1:16:46I was really nervous about that for two years until that lease
- 1:16:49was over that they continue paying and they did.
- 1:16:52So I haven't heard a lot of, you know, backlash from that company
- 1:16:58after I walked away, thank God, because that was really what I
- 1:17:00was most nervous about. I still get calls every time the
- 1:17:03trucks are in an accident because they are.
- 1:17:05They still in business this company.
- 1:17:06I believe so. Oh, but I'll tell you a funny
- 1:17:08part that we'll decide if you want to keep this.
- 1:17:12My wife today calls them every week and texts one of the
- 1:17:19partners and says I need a side of salmon and a logical filter
- 1:17:23fish and they've been delivering for five years.
- 1:17:27Never collected a penny or asked for a penny.
- 1:17:33I'm getting paid back that $2,000,000.
- 1:17:35One slice like a filter fish at a time with the carrot on top.
- 1:17:39Oh my goodness. Wow.
- 1:17:40OK, so that is funny. It's, it's sad.
- 1:17:44It's, but it's sweet. It's, it's just, it's very
- 1:17:46bittersweet. You tell them to send salmon to
- 1:17:48your. Friend too.
- 1:17:49I mean, we never mess with it. We never mess with it.
- 1:17:52We only because she never even knows.
- 1:17:53She never even response right. He just does it.
- 1:17:56It just shows up and she never knows when's the last week it's
- 1:17:59going to show up. Now, let me ask you something.
- 1:18:02Do you think it had something to do with the fact that you moved
- 1:18:04to Muncie and you didn't have your finger on a pulse?
- 1:18:07I mean, you could have caught something like this was brewing
- 1:18:09perhaps a little earlier if you were there in.
- 1:18:12Person a lot more 100%. It was because of the distance,
- 1:18:15right? And they knew they could, and
- 1:18:17they knew I wasn't in a position at that mode to fight them.
- 1:18:20I wasn't going to court. I just finished my divorce a
- 1:18:23couple of months earlier. I wasn't starting that whole
- 1:18:26game over, right? Right.
- 1:18:27They knew they had me where they wanted me.
- 1:18:29Yeah, Michael, we know someone, we have a mutual friend who had
- 1:18:33a business that he started 100% started the business.
- 1:18:37No one debates that. And he brought in a few other
- 1:18:40people to help him manage and operate the company.
- 1:18:44And this is going on for many years.
- 1:18:46They were getting along. This person that started the
- 1:18:48company, our friend owned majority of the company and the
- 1:18:52other individuals had similar to your situation.
- 1:18:54They had a smaller piece in the company.
- 1:18:56And after a certain amount of years, they basically came to
- 1:18:59our friend and they strong armed them.
- 1:19:01And they said, look, we get it, it's your company.
- 1:19:04You invested all the money in the beginning and however, at
- 1:19:07this junction, we don't need you anymore.
- 1:19:09So what we could do is we could walk away and start our own
- 1:19:13company the same as this company started our own company.
- 1:19:16They already knew the clients a lot better.
- 1:19:18They had the relationships because they were operating
- 1:19:20their business for a while. Right now.
- 1:19:22This person didn't see it coming.
- 1:19:24He didn't see it. He got hit like a freight truck.
- 1:19:26He got hit with this and you know what he did?
- 1:19:28He actually caved and he ended up giving them more percent in
- 1:19:32the company. They looted himself to basically
- 1:19:35nothing, and for that prize, they kept him on.
- 1:19:37It's all right. We're OK with you making still a
- 1:19:39sliver even though, you know we're going to continue to run
- 1:19:42the company. And that's what happened.
- 1:19:43Now, what I told this person was, I said what your mistake
- 1:19:47was that you thought that this was going to last forever.
- 1:19:50This arrangement where you are a majority owner in this company
- 1:19:53and they're doing all the work. I got it.
- 1:19:54You started it. You put your blood, sweat and
- 1:19:56tears into it for many, many years.
- 1:19:57That's all very nice, but people forget those things.
- 1:19:59It's all about what have you done for me?
- 1:20:01Lately, not what have you done for me 10 years ago?
- 1:20:03They're coming into work every day.
- 1:20:04They're running the business. It's going to be a time that's
- 1:20:07good you should have seen this coming that eventually they're
- 1:20:09not going to like this arrangement anymore and they're
- 1:20:11going to have circumstances change and they want to change
- 1:20:13it and he's he's he actually has no regrets.
- 1:20:16He said no, no, he said I think what they did was disgusting and
- 1:20:19I would never change it I would never offer them anything
- 1:20:20anymore. I don't know about that.
- 1:20:21I disagree. I think you should have given
- 1:20:23them where give them more percentage.
- 1:20:26So this way you could keep a lot more than you ended up keeping.
- 1:20:28And maybe they would have had that would have been more
- 1:20:29palatable for them. They wouldn't have taken you all
- 1:20:32the way down to the number you you ended up getting down to if
- 1:20:34you would have done it right. So that's kind of where where my
- 1:20:37head was at. So interesting because now that
- 1:20:39I've just done a round of VC funding, the most fascinating
- 1:20:44part that I find is that most astute investors want to make
- 1:20:49sure that the highest caliber employees are properly
- 1:20:56incentivized and own equity. And they before they'll invest,
- 1:21:01they want to see the employee's stock pool.
- 1:21:05Show me who has what in the installee stock pool, whose
- 1:21:08value to who that everybody's aligned.
- 1:21:12And that's so super. And when you're running a small
- 1:21:15business and you start your own business, like I had with my
- 1:21:17fish business and this guy with his business, you know, it's
- 1:21:21very hard with the percentages and where do you go?
- 1:21:23And I've had it in my previous business also where I started it
- 1:21:27fully myself and brought on another guy.
- 1:21:29It was making $500 a week and ended up, when I sold the
- 1:21:33company with a big chunk. Was I happy about it?
- 1:21:37I was happy to give him, but being held over the barrel to
- 1:21:41give it, nobody likes. That nobody likes that.
- 1:21:45Yeah, so really figuring out a way to do be open and out front,
- 1:21:50but it never works because eventually one guy starts doing
- 1:21:54more work than the other. Once more percentage.
- 1:21:57All my employees when I first hired them in this company, I
- 1:22:00said no equity. There's no I don't want to hear
- 1:22:03from equity. I've been burnt 100 times with
- 1:22:04equity. You owe nothing.
- 1:22:07Every single guy that came to me goes.
- 1:22:09All your employees will own pieces of the company.
- 1:22:13If you're a SAS based company, your entire value is this and
- 1:22:17that really helps with this problem.
- 1:22:20I think the biggest thing is when it comes to partnerships,
- 1:22:23everybody has to have an equal share that those are the only
- 1:22:26partnerships that lasts. The ones where one partner has
- 1:22:301%, another partner has another. It starts not going into a
- 1:22:33battle of who's doing more work. Should I be getting more
- 1:22:35percent? But can't that it starts going
- 1:22:37you. Can't do an English?
- 1:22:38You can do it. Then you don't go partner.
- 1:22:39No, you can do a fair share. I'm a big fan of partners.
- 1:22:41You don't know if someone starts the company, the guy that's
- 1:22:43starting at the company brings on the partners.
- 1:22:46I think guy the one who put let's say the original blood,
- 1:22:50sweat and juice would get like very small difference but.
- 1:22:54You know, possibly Yeah, sure that that can that can work.
- 1:22:57Those are outliers. You know, when someone starts a
- 1:22:59company and he but when it starts getting the gap starts
- 1:23:02getting a little far. One person owns 81, person owns
- 1:23:0410, one person owns 10. Those are always going to be
- 1:23:07tricky situations. Something is going to, it's not
- 1:23:09going to end well. Partnerships are tough enough as
- 1:23:11is. Partnerships are so difficult,
- 1:23:13two people having to get along and there's money involved.
- 1:23:16I mean, money is the thing that really gets between families.
- 1:23:19It gets between friendships, it gets between the strongest
- 1:23:21relationships. Divorce usually comes.
- 1:23:24The number one reason comes from financial distress.
- 1:23:27Financial distress is usually the cause of it all.
- 1:23:30I mean, countries that aren't prospering struggle when they
- 1:23:33don't have money in the bank. It's a big problem.
- 1:23:36So that's already enough of an issue.
- 1:23:38You're going to add to it now by bringing feelings into the
- 1:23:41equation. That's another thing.
- 1:23:42I'm making 20, he's making thirty.
- 1:23:44I think I do more than him. I think my value is more than
- 1:23:47that person making a turn. Suddenly you become and a
- 1:23:50master, he starts playing a role and when there's toxicity in
- 1:23:52your partnerships and people feel like they're Oh my God,
- 1:23:55that's the end all be all. There's nothing to go from here.
- 1:23:59Yes, you cut it off. No, there's no worse feeling.
- 1:24:01They're walking into your office and your energy dropping
- 1:24:05instantly because a partner of yours is just there.
- 1:24:10Yep. There's no worse feeling in the
- 1:24:12world. I will tell you guys, I have a
- 1:24:14lot of experience with this. Employees have something that
- 1:24:17they have annual reviews and I believe and I suggest all
- 1:24:21partners and every facet in life should have the same thing.
- 1:24:24They should have business partnership reviews.
- 1:24:26How's it going? Are we doing our fair share and
- 1:24:29is everybody happy? In marriage too.
- 1:24:31In marriage, it should be a it should be a daily thing.
- 1:24:34But we're not gonna accountability for the husband
- 1:24:37and wife. It's time.
- 1:24:38To take out the garbage on Wednesday, right?
- 1:24:40Around who's doing what around here?
- 1:24:42Yeah, yeah. Whose checkbook is owned by who?
- 1:24:44Exactly. Zeesh, you.
- 1:24:46You went from healthcare to fish and now you're back in
- 1:24:49healthcare. One of the things that we
- 1:24:51started doing on the None of Your Business podcast, by the
- 1:24:53way, is that every month we feature a healthcare guest and
- 1:24:58that goes out in our newsletter and we promote it.
- 1:25:00You're our featured monthly healthcare person.
- 1:25:02So I do want to talk about that for a minute because you went
- 1:25:04from healthcare to fish and I know there was a journey to get
- 1:25:07you back into healthcare, but what are you doing now?
- 1:25:09And tell us a little bit about that VC that you just mentioned
- 1:25:11real quick. Like what are you raising?
- 1:25:13What's going on? How does that world look?
- 1:25:15Because software and SAS and development and technology is a
- 1:25:19huge discussion in every Business Today.
- 1:25:22So I'm can you give us the 62nd version?
- 1:25:25Fine, 90 seconds. Thank you.
- 1:25:27Oh, sure, you're gonna love this one.
- 1:25:30Since early 2020 when right before COVID hit, there was this
- 1:25:35Medicare program that came out called Remote patient
- 1:25:38monitoring. RPMRPMA friend of ours reached
- 1:25:43out to me and said, hey, Zish, can you, you're, I know you know
- 1:25:47medical equipment. Can you find me a cellular
- 1:25:50connected glucometer? Sure.
- 1:25:54At that point I was doing nothing.
- 1:25:56It was right after the fish thing.
- 1:25:59I start doing some homework, I find out.
- 1:26:00You're still getting upside to the track for just one second
- 1:26:03after this whole thing happened with the fish and all that.
- 1:26:05I know you're always an early riser.
- 1:26:07When you were doing nothing that you just mentioned.
- 1:26:08Before you started this, were you still getting up every day
- 1:26:11at 5:00 in the morning and doing your routine or did you start?
- 1:26:15Did it start affecting other things in the day?
- 1:26:17No, I wasn't doing that at that point at all.
- 1:26:21At that point I was getting up probably about 7:00-ish, but
- 1:26:23spending a lot of time in the park every day.
- 1:26:26He would go to the park. Every single day, every day.
- 1:26:29That was my my place. And then Michael opened this
- 1:26:32place in in Pomona during the height of COVID.
- 1:26:35Which place? The PPE house.
- 1:26:37Oh, over there, you remember. That, I mean, that place would
- 1:26:41lift anybody's spirits. Correct.
- 1:26:43Yeah. All right, go ahead.
- 1:26:44Sorry. Yeah.
- 1:26:46RPMRPM at. That point I found that connects
- 1:26:50to cellular. I did some homework, found the
- 1:26:52company. I'm not going to mention the
- 1:26:54name right now because the end of the story.
- 1:26:56I found the company, big company.
- 1:26:58This brings in cellular. He the guy there teaches me all
- 1:27:03about RPM and tells me this is what's going on.
- 1:27:05This is why he's asking for it. And he goes and I bring in these
- 1:27:10devices and my biggest investor also happened to own 500 nursing
- 1:27:15home. So Zish, you're the perfect guy
- 1:27:18to go put these devices in these nursing homes and find the
- 1:27:22patients that are eligible for it and get paid and I'm like, I
- 1:27:26got nothing right now. Thank you Hashem.
- 1:27:28This is beyond a gift. I love travelling, I love
- 1:27:33healthcare, I love nursing homes, I love medical equipment.
- 1:27:36This is everything and it became a huge project.
- 1:27:40They gave me 60 buildings in Texas.
- 1:27:43Go find the 25 diabetics in each building, give them a, their own
- 1:27:49glucometer, label it to put it into PCC, which is the point
- 1:27:53Click here. The the software in, in the
- 1:27:55facilities, connect it and go from one building to the next
- 1:28:00building into the bank. And they were paying me $30.00 a
- 1:28:02month for every active device that I activate.
- 1:28:06So I just have to deliver it, set it up, do the thing.
- 1:28:09So I would travel hours through Texas.
- 1:28:11You know, you'd get into the car and say Next up three hours and
- 1:28:1448 minutes. They're like, OK, and then you
- 1:28:17look at your list, 2 glucometers to deliver, but OK, it's part of
- 1:28:23the whole thing. We're going to do it.
- 1:28:24It all adds up. It all adds up.
- 1:28:26And two years I travelled around Texas delivering these and
- 1:28:30setting up and managing and watching them and then realized
- 1:28:33there was no software for me to see what's going on, which
- 1:28:38devices are being used today, which are not being used today.
- 1:28:41The manufacturer themselves had no software for it and I had no
- 1:28:45way. And also, I delivered 2500
- 1:28:48devices and there's no way of managing it.
- 1:28:50I had spreadsheets and Google Sheets and people in the
- 1:28:52Philippines trying to manage and call the buildings disaster.
- 1:28:57And I call the manufacturer. Dude, we need a software to
- 1:29:00manage this. Yeah, it's not an aroma.
- 1:29:03I ran to the Philippines, not physically had somebody
- 1:29:07recommend me somebody in the Philippines.
- 1:29:10I said I need a software to run my business.
- 1:29:13I got going on, I'm going to pay $30 device.
- 1:29:15I got 22,000 devices out there. We're just getting started.
- 1:29:18Then they were just putting in blood pressure devices, which
- 1:29:21was going to be the other 80% of the building.
- 1:29:24You know, he was going to triple my business.
- 1:29:26Right now I need a software to run this all.
- 1:29:30They started building a software just to run this business.
- 1:29:33After about 6-7 months and just as about when the software that
- 1:29:37I just built to manage this was just about functional, I said
- 1:29:44this whole thing ain't going to work.
- 1:29:47One device per patient in a nursing home impasse.
- 1:29:50The admissions, the discharge, the moving, the transfers.
- 1:29:54I'm out. They ended up suing me, that
- 1:29:58company for $200,000 for leaving the middle.
- 1:30:02I said there's no way of managing this.
- 1:30:04You're not going to be happy. You're you're just shipping
- 1:30:06devices because you think you're getting paid.
- 1:30:08You're not going to get paid. And it ended up collapsing
- 1:30:10miserably with a lawsuit. And here I have a software now
- 1:30:17for a company that's dead being sued.
- 1:30:21And at that point, I said, I can give up.
- 1:30:25And I said, you know what? Let me go to some other people
- 1:30:28that I know were trying to do something within this line and
- 1:30:32show them what I built and ask them, hey, would this make your
- 1:30:35life easier? Just the software, take it, pay
- 1:30:38me for it. But.
- 1:30:40And I went to two very large companies that were doing it
- 1:30:44each that service over 1000 facilities each.
- 1:30:48And they both go, heck yeah, we love it, we'll start using it.
- 1:30:52They both turned on like 100 buildings each, crashed the
- 1:30:55whole software disaster again. But I said, hey, if they're
- 1:31:00interested and there's no software out there and I know
- 1:31:03what they need, I hired Acto here.
- 1:31:08I took a large office right across the street, all built in
- 1:31:12the USA, threw out everything we built in the Philippines.
- 1:31:16We have now a number of large customers using the new
- 1:31:20software. You know, we have revenues, you
- 1:31:23know, over $1,000,000 a year recurring revenue already.
- 1:31:28We plan on continuing to build out the software.
- 1:31:31Right now what we find is the software is most utilized by all
- 1:31:36ancillaries seeing patients in nursing homes.
- 1:31:38So if you're a primary care, you're a podiatrist, you're a
- 1:31:41psychologist, you're psychiatry, you want to know who to see when
- 1:31:45you walk into that building. What they generally do is
- 1:31:47they'll walk into a building, they'll log into point, click
- 1:31:50here, they'll run a report, they'll see who were the last
- 1:31:53people that were admitted since the last time I was here, who
- 1:31:56had an abnormal vital, who had a change in medication.
- 1:31:59So we tie into those softwares live and we feed them on a
- 1:32:03silver platter. This is who you should see
- 1:32:05today. This is who you could see today,
- 1:32:08who this is who you'll get paid if you see today and.
- 1:32:12Isn't that CCM? Isn't that chronic care
- 1:32:14management? Chronic care management is when
- 1:32:16you're looking for the care gaps within the patient's care.
- 1:32:20So you're going through all of their medications and their
- 1:32:23vitals and all of that. And at the end of the month,
- 1:32:26you're saying, hey, based on my conversations with the patient,
- 1:32:29we created a chronic care plan to manage his diabetes, to
- 1:32:34manage his. So what what'd you go to AVC
- 1:32:36for? What?
- 1:32:37What was? Tell me about that part, because
- 1:32:38that's. So as.
- 1:32:39Interesting. I've been growing the staff way
- 1:32:43faster than revenue coming in. So I've been burning money with
- 1:32:47investors that have believed in me from day one and didn't have
- 1:32:52the first clue about product, the real estate guys, but just
- 1:32:56trusted me and loved the enthusiasm.
- 1:33:00And from $100,000 loan from a friend of mine that I brought to
- 1:33:04a meeting and didn't like the meeting and I brought him.
- 1:33:08I said, you know, this guy wants to be my partner.
- 1:33:10He wants to give me a half, $1,000,000.
- 1:33:11He wants to take half the business.
- 1:33:14I don't know this type of stuff. I know how to build businesses.
- 1:33:17You're a smart guy in real estate.
- 1:33:18You mind joining me for a meeting?
- 1:33:21And we walked out of the meeting and go, Zish, how much money you
- 1:33:24need for payroll? I said, I don't know, maybe 20
- 1:33:27grand. He goes, I'm going to give you
- 1:33:28100. Take it as a loan.
- 1:33:30Do not do this deal. That 100 grand became
- 1:33:35$2,000,000. Wow.
- 1:33:38And with a smile every time. Wow.
- 1:33:41With a smile and. He really believes in this
- 1:33:43project. And, you know, we got to a point
- 1:33:45where he said, you know, I, I could keep funding it and they
- 1:33:47were fine funding it. Two friends that became one
- 1:33:50other, his partner joined him. But let's bring in somebody that
- 1:33:55knows how to take what you built to the next level.
- 1:34:00So we interviewed probably 20 to 30 VCs, venture capital groups
- 1:34:05that come in and say we could take this company, we love it
- 1:34:08and we're going to bring you all this value and we're going to
- 1:34:10take X amount of your business and we're going to take X amount
- 1:34:13of this. And none of them did we resonate
- 1:34:17with at all. Could you summarize it?
- 1:34:19How much money are you looking for?
- 1:34:20I guess when you're going to AVC.
- 1:34:22We were looking right now for anywhere between 1.5 and two
- 1:34:26mil. Got it.
- 1:34:27And every dollar we raised that we did it, we literally I'm
- 1:34:31coming from a call where we just finalized for Hashem, thank you
- 1:34:36Hashem. I'm so grateful where every
- 1:34:39single dollar came from a strategic meaning we only took
- 1:34:44money from people that could actually bring value to the
- 1:34:46company. Yeah, not dumb money.
- 1:34:48Not $1.00 of dumb money. Nice.
- 1:34:51And we did the largest check we took was 200.
- 1:34:54We didn't want anything larger than that good and we down to
- 1:34:5725,000 people that have great connections, great you know
- 1:35:03ancillary businesses that say I want in.
- 1:35:07So that's where we're at. Aziz, this has to work.
- 1:35:09Ziz, you got a lot of the line over here.
- 1:35:12There's a lot of the. Line.
- 1:35:13Yeah, I mean, this is your, your I'm.
- 1:35:15I'm very. And I'm open about it because I
- 1:35:17want everybody rooting with me. I'm I'm.
- 1:35:20By the way, and I'm. 100% we're your fans.
- 1:35:22I, I, I bless you for cash and I bless you for flow.
- 1:35:25I love. People.
- 1:35:29That are listening. I want people to understand what
- 1:35:31it takes to really make it big. There is so much that goes
- 1:35:36behind the scenes. There's so many sleepless
- 1:35:38nights, there's so much aggravation.
- 1:35:41There's so much paranoia, stress, not knowing what's going
- 1:35:44to be. I mean, you're talking about
- 1:35:47months, years with the boiling before you could possibly make
- 1:35:51it big. My children call me every
- 1:35:52Friday. How was the week in the office?
- 1:35:55I say I'm still pushing that boulder up the mountain, but
- 1:35:58every week it gets bigger and heavier, but the opportunity
- 1:36:03grows. But it gets heavier, but the
- 1:36:06opportunity grows and and we just pushing it up and that's
- 1:36:10our whole job. That's the hit.
- 1:36:12That is the end gate. Yeah, sounds like you're right
- 1:36:15now at the mode of go big or go home, absolutely.
- 1:36:18But this, this is going to be your last and final thing you
- 1:36:20hope, right? I mean just this is you have
- 1:36:22more in you. Absolutely.
- 1:36:24You ready to do this again and again?
- 1:36:25Absolutely. I'd love you like.
- 1:36:27Building businesses I. Love building businesses.
- 1:36:29I love coming up conceptually, you know, from the big picture.
- 1:36:34It's always about finding that guy.
- 1:36:37What we call in Kabbalah it's called, it's called Kahmanbina,
- 1:36:41which is the burst of inspiration and then the
- 1:36:44intelligence to make it into pieces.
- 1:36:46So we can have an idea to build a house.
- 1:36:48I want to build a house. And then you need to take those
- 1:36:51that big idea and break it into pieces and bring it to an
- 1:36:55architect and say, OK, this is how many rooms it's going to
- 1:36:57happen. This how many?
- 1:36:58So when you can have that partnership and find that Ying
- 1:37:01to your Yang where you're coming up with the vision and you know
- 1:37:05you have somebody that gets it and can really run with it,
- 1:37:09that's the biggest blessing. Zisha, I give you a blessing and
- 1:37:12to everyone listening that everyone should end their day
- 1:37:14and start their day laughing and it should come from a place of
- 1:37:17positivity and growth and feel full.
- 1:37:20Inside feel full. Inside we are.
- 1:37:24It doesn't come with ego. Feeling full inside means I am
- 1:37:28comfortable. You can't insult me.
