Today, we're taking a stroll along the beach. Luna: Oh, the beach. I love the beach. We did a few beach episodes early on, remember? Lucas: We did, but today it's all about something specific. Shells. Luna: Shells, like the ones you find in the sand? Lucas: Exactly. In Cantonese, a shell is 貝殼. Say it with me. Luna: 貝殼. Lucas: Good. Luna: 貝殼. That's actually pretty straightforward. Lucas: It is. And when you see a beautiful shell, you'd say 好靚. 好靚 means very pretty or very beautiful. Luna: 好靚. So I could point at a shell and say 好靚. Lucas: Yes. Let's put them together. That means this shell is very pretty. 呢個 is this, 貝殼 is shell, 好靚 is very pretty. That's lovely. Can I say that when I see a pretty shell? Lucas: Perfectly. I'm already collecting them in my head. Lucas: And to say you want to collect shells, you say 我想 means I want, 執 means to pick up or collect. I want to collect shells. That's a handy one for the beach. Lucas: It is. Let's try it again. Lucas: Great. And if you want to ask someone if they like shells, you say Do you like shells? That's a question, right? Like, do you like shells? Lucas: Exactly. You could ask a friend on the beach. I think I'm getting the hang of this. Lucas: You are. Let's imagine we're walking along the shore and you spot a beautiful shell. What do you say? Lucas: And then you say you want to collect it. Lucas: Perfect.
