- 0:05Speaker 1: Hello, gorgeous. It is La La Kent. Welcome back to
- 0:08Speaker 1: my podcast I have. It's so weird to have you
- 0:11Speaker 1: here as like a guest because you're just like my homies.
- 0:13Speaker 1: So I'm like, this feels so official.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I love it.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hi Britney Cartwright, Hi girl, how's it going good?
- 0:20Speaker 2: Thanks for having me.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I can't wait to have you. I was like looking
- 0:25Speaker 1: at the time, and then Stace, our mutual producer, says
- 0:30Speaker 1: she stopped off at a gas station to go to
- 0:32Speaker 1: the bathroom. I'm like, it's like a thirty minute commute,
- 0:35Speaker 1: and normally, like if you're on a road trip, you
- 0:37Speaker 1: would stop off at a gas station to go to the bathroom.
- 0:41Speaker 2: There was no way around it. God to stop.
- 0:45Speaker 1: What are we talking? Like? Are we talking like a chevron? Uh?
- 0:50Speaker 2: It was a I don't even know what it happened
- 0:52Speaker 2: to actual now that I think about it. What was
- 0:55Speaker 2: a shell?
- 0:57Speaker 1: You're so Kentucky right now.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Oh man, you gotta do what you gotta do. And
- 1:02Speaker 2: that traffic coming here from the valley was like stop
- 1:05Speaker 2: and go.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06Speaker 2: I was like, I ain't gonna make it if I
- 1:07Speaker 2: if I have to go all the way there.
- 1:09Speaker 1: We cause you come from Kentucky. I come from uh
- 1:13Speaker 1: Salt Lake City, Utah. There's no traffic and I don't
- 1:16Speaker 1: know if you ever saw the snl skit about like
- 1:18Speaker 1: when people moved to California, all they ever talk about
- 1:20Speaker 1: is being stuck in traffic and like how they true
- 1:23Speaker 1: took the four oh five to the one oh one
- 1:26Speaker 1: or whatever, and I'm like, oh my god, we've turned
- 1:27Speaker 1: into those people.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Oh but what's bad about me is I don't ever
- 1:30Speaker 2: know where I am. Like if it wasn't for my GPS,
- 1:34Speaker 2: I would not. I don't know what the four oh
- 1:35Speaker 2: five is, Like I heard of it, but like I
- 1:37Speaker 2: couldn't tell you which one it is. You've been here
- 1:40Speaker 2: for ten years?
- 1:43Speaker 1: Oh my okay. So then when you go from your
- 1:47Speaker 1: house to take Cruizy to school because our kids go
- 1:49Speaker 1: to the same school, do you have to use your GPS?
- 1:52Speaker 2: I put my GPS on for safety because I just
- 1:55Speaker 2: like to follow it and know where I am. It's
- 1:57Speaker 2: like I absolutely had to do it without my phone.
- 2:00Speaker 2: I could take him to school, okay, but I never
- 2:03Speaker 2: tried because it's like my safety blanket, you know.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Right, just in case you forget yeah, or.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Like I'm not paying attention and I like missed the
- 2:10Speaker 2: turn and then I would be screwed. I have no
- 2:13Speaker 2: clue where the heck I was.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I just like knowing how long it's gonna take me exactly.
- 2:17Speaker 2: I like that too.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Yeah, like I know where I'm going, but I sometimes
- 2:21Speaker 1: it could take ten minutes, sometimes it could take thirty five.
- 2:23Speaker 2: And sometimes it'll say save five minutes if you click here.
- 2:25Speaker 1: And I'm like, yes, like you said, it was like
- 2:30Speaker 1: a hell of a morning. What went on this morning?
- 2:32Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. So Cruise and I swam like all
- 2:35Speaker 2: day yesterday, just him and I. So he was like
- 2:38Speaker 2: really tired. So if he goes to bed early, there's
- 2:41Speaker 2: no it's never like for sure that he's gonna stay
- 2:44Speaker 2: asleep all night. Okay. So he fell asleep around eight
- 2:46Speaker 2: o'clock and woke up at four am. Oh no, ready
- 2:51Speaker 2: to party, just like yay hello, like smacking on my
- 2:56Speaker 2: face like this to get me up, and yeah, he
- 3:00Speaker 2: just would not go back to sleep. Finally went back
- 3:02Speaker 2: to sleep at seven point thirty. Okay. So I was
- 3:05Speaker 2: up with him that entire time, and then he had
- 3:07Speaker 2: to be at school at eight forty five, so I
- 3:09Speaker 2: decided to keep it home today.
- 3:12Speaker 1: He stayed home too, Yeah, because what am I gonna do?
- 3:14Speaker 2: Make it's just pre school if it was like, yeah,
- 3:17Speaker 2: you know what I mean, like if it was like
- 3:18Speaker 2: school school. But I just felt like he would be
- 3:20Speaker 2: so miserable if he went, so then I was up
- 3:23Speaker 2: with him the whole time too, and I'm just like,
- 3:25Speaker 2: I was so tired.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Oh and you're all glamed and everything.
- 3:28Speaker 2: I just rushed but makeup on.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I'm very impressed. Did you do that at the gas
- 3:32Speaker 1: station too?
- 3:32Speaker 2: I did my lips in the car on the way, a.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Car that I'm laying my horn.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Like plan your day better, bitch, of which I'm at
- 3:42Speaker 2: like a stop sign. Okay, it's not just like I'm
- 3:46Speaker 2: not driving and actively doing it.
- 3:47Speaker 1: You know.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Little Wayne's playing and I'm just like, dude.
- 3:51Speaker 1: By the way, some people thought Lil Wayne was paying
- 3:53Speaker 1: you to promote his new album.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Somebody said that to me. They were like, is Little
- 3:56Speaker 2: Wayne paying you? And I said what I was like,
- 3:59Speaker 2: I love Little White. Everyone knows that, if I mean,
- 4:02Speaker 2: they obviously don't know me very well. If they thought
- 4:04Speaker 2: I didn't know little Way.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Do you still like him? Now that he broke up
- 4:07Speaker 1: with his girlfriend on Mother's Day?
- 4:09Speaker 2: He broke up with I didn't even see that. Yes,
- 4:12Speaker 2: he does things that disappoint me sometimes, Like that was
- 4:16Speaker 2: his concert and uh, you know Kara, my friend from Yestechy,
- 4:20Speaker 2: she flew in from Vegas and he was so late.
- 4:23Speaker 2: It was that one that kind of like went viral
- 4:25Speaker 2: where he like walked off the sage're there, we're there.
- 4:28Speaker 1: And didn't he like shame the audience, Yes.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Because he said that we weren't interested in like his
- 4:32Speaker 2: new rappers and stuff. I'm look, we waited three hours,
- 4:36Speaker 2: you were late, and then you walked off early because
- 4:38Speaker 2: we weren'tcheering enough for songs that we had never heard before.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I was bently boy.
- 4:42Speaker 2: That was a disappointing moment, but he will never.
- 4:45Speaker 1: You know what, you're a true true blue fan?
- 4:47Speaker 2: Oh yeah, aam.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I feel like you have true blue fans like that
- 4:51Speaker 1: just rock with you no matter because the fans are
- 4:54Speaker 1: fickle when it comes to like reality television. Yeah, And
- 4:58Speaker 1: do you watch reality TV or you just on it?
- 5:02Speaker 2: For the most part, I'm just on it. I do
- 5:04Speaker 2: see things here and there. Obviously I was big into
- 5:08Speaker 2: like nine to Day Fiance and stuff like that for
- 5:10Speaker 2: a while. I think because I wasn't really that much
- 5:15Speaker 2: into it before I even started on reality to you,
- 5:18Speaker 2: So like maybe I had watched like Laguna Beach or
- 5:21Speaker 2: you know, Jersey Shore, like the very great the very
- 5:24Speaker 2: first ones. And I used to love like trading spaces
- 5:27Speaker 2: like home de courseo yeah KLC, you know stuff like that.
- 5:34Speaker 2: So that was like what I really watched. Don't hate me, problemo,
- 5:38Speaker 2: I love you now. But I was just never like
- 5:39Speaker 2: really huge into that world.
- 5:42Speaker 1: My mom was all the moms loved house Yes, yeah,
- 5:46Speaker 1: I loved Housewives too.
- 5:47Speaker 2: You still do?
- 5:48Speaker 1: Oh, I'm addicted.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe if I watched it, I would like be
- 5:51Speaker 2: into it. But whenever you live the life, you.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Feel like, because you know how the sausage is made,
- 5:57Speaker 1: you can't watch it.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Yeah. Maybe it gives me like a little anxiety or something.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, it's weird. How is this season going
- 6:04Speaker 1: for you?
- 6:05Speaker 2: Definitely the hardest season I've ever filmed. Okay, hard to
- 6:08Speaker 2: watch back. I think that I'm definitely like showing a
- 6:14Speaker 2: different side of me that people aren't used to. I
- 6:16Speaker 2: think I'm showing like a lot of like growth and strength. Yeah,
- 6:19Speaker 2: and I'm in a much better place right now than
- 6:21Speaker 2: I was when I was filming this because you know,
- 6:22Speaker 2: we film over the summer, so it's been a hot minute.
- 6:26Speaker 2: But yeah, I feel like I've got so much support
- 6:28Speaker 2: and I'm so grateful, grateful for that. But like, if
- 6:30Speaker 2: I do one thing wrong, I feel like people like
- 6:32Speaker 2: come at me, and it's like, give me a little
- 6:34Speaker 2: bit of grace here. I'm literally going through the hardest
- 6:36Speaker 2: summer of my entire life and doing it all on TV.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and it'll be one of the hardest times of
- 6:42Speaker 1: your entire life for the long run. Like, yeah, looking back,
- 6:47Speaker 1: when you think about your life, this will always be
- 6:49Speaker 1: one of the most difficult and most challenging times of
- 6:52Speaker 1: your life. So when you went into filming, did you
- 6:57Speaker 1: know that it was going to be difficult.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Yeah, because two days before is whenever all the stuff happened,
- 7:04Speaker 2: Like two days before we even picked up cameras is
- 7:06Speaker 2: whenever all the stuff with Jack's happened. So I knew
- 7:09Speaker 2: that it was gonna be bad. And before that, we
- 7:11Speaker 2: had been separated for like six or seven months already, right,
- 7:14Speaker 2: and it wasn't good our entire separation because that's when
- 7:17Speaker 2: he started spiraling and stuff. So I was like even
- 7:20Speaker 2: worse than normal so I just knew it was going
- 7:22Speaker 2: to be extremely hard.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I remember when it did start getting very very bad,
- 7:28Speaker 1: and you and I were driving, I think, to Will
- 7:30Speaker 1: and Elaine's house and we were talking just about what
- 7:33Speaker 1: you were going through, and you were talking about some
- 7:38Speaker 1: ring footage and you were like, I can show you.
- 7:40Speaker 1: And I was like, Britt, yeah, you weren't to a
- 7:42Speaker 1: place yet. I don't even think that you had separated fully.
- 7:45Speaker 1: It was just you kind of toying with the idea. Yeah,
- 7:49Speaker 1: And I said to you, if you show me, if
- 7:52Speaker 1: you guys reconcile, I don't think I'll ever be able
- 7:55Speaker 1: to be around him again.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:57Speaker 1: And then two days before, you guys picked up cameras
- 8:00Speaker 1: we were at the school. Mm hmm. You showed me
- 8:03Speaker 1: a video mm hmm. But I said, if you don't
- 8:06Speaker 1: get out of this, someone's gonna end up dead. Yeah,
- 8:08Speaker 1: and it probably will be you. Yeah.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I mean, it was escalating so bad. And those are
- 8:14Speaker 2: two different occasions. Like the ring kids you're talking about
- 8:17Speaker 2: the first time, Like we had so many fights that
- 8:19Speaker 2: led up to why I had to separate in the
- 8:21Speaker 2: first place, like why I left in the first place,
- 8:23Speaker 2: and then the whole stuff that happened two days before filming.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I had already been separated for six or seven months, correct,
- 8:28Speaker 2: So that like a lot of people get the timeline
- 8:30Speaker 2: messed up, and I'm like, no, no, no, there was
- 8:33Speaker 2: a lot of times that happened and a lot of
- 8:35Speaker 2: things that happened before the separation in general. You know
- 8:39Speaker 2: that led me to leave in the very first place.
- 8:41Speaker 2: And it had nothing to do with Julian.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I know. This was the first time
- 8:46Speaker 1: way after us going cause I think it was us
- 8:48Speaker 1: going to like a Christmas party. This was like two
- 8:51Speaker 1: years ago.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah. Do you remember also I came up
- 8:56Speaker 2: to the grove and met you and Sheena and your moms. Yeah,
- 9:00Speaker 2: at the grow and that's when I first told you guys,
- 9:01Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna leave him. Yes, yeah, that was
- 9:04Speaker 2: before I left him too.
- 9:06Speaker 1: You And that's such a difficult I don't like when
- 9:09Speaker 1: people talk about things like this when they haven't been
- 9:13Speaker 1: placed in this situation and they say, well, if this
- 9:15Speaker 1: were happening, you should have done this. Yep, there is
- 9:18Speaker 1: no roadmap. Everyone's story is different. Oh h do you
- 9:21Speaker 1: think that you're going to catch heat? The fact that
- 9:25Speaker 1: you filed for divorce when he was in a treatment center.
- 9:29Speaker 2: I don't think so, because people are gonna see a
- 9:32Speaker 2: lot more stuff that happens leading up to it. So
- 9:35Speaker 2: there's a lot more that hasn't even aired yet that
- 9:37Speaker 2: I had to that I have to go through. And
- 9:40Speaker 2: I think people are gonna be like, oh, what the hell? Yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 2: I don't think anybody. I think some people are gonna
- 9:45Speaker 2: be like, why didn't you do it sooner? Honestly, right,
- 9:48Speaker 2: you know, And if people do give me heat, I'm like, listen,
- 9:51Speaker 2: it took me a long time to get where I
- 9:54Speaker 2: finally had the strength to leave him in the first place.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I was trying to give him like some grace while
- 9:58Speaker 2: he was doing things and HOPEFU working on himself. But
- 10:01Speaker 2: then you obviously see, because it's already been on the show,
- 10:04Speaker 2: I was getting rage text constantly all this stuff was happening.
- 10:07Speaker 2: And then there's more stuff I can't say yet because
- 10:10Speaker 2: it's on the show obviously, but even more stuff that
- 10:13Speaker 2: hasn't aired yet that like I had to go through.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it doesn't end, yeah, and.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Ever, it was like almost every other day something new
- 10:20Speaker 2: was happening, and you know, yeah, it took me a
- 10:23Speaker 2: long time. To leave. But I did leave, and I'm
- 10:26Speaker 2: like very proud of myself and I'm happy with what
- 10:29Speaker 2: I did. You know, it should be.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Yeah, no matter when you choose to leave somebody. I mean,
- 10:34Speaker 1: like you said, this was a decade with this man. Yes,
- 10:39Speaker 1: where some people most people, you know, because I got
- 10:42Speaker 1: a lot of people saying, well, you pushed your ex
- 10:44Speaker 1: on us so much, and you did this and you
- 10:46Speaker 1: did that, and it's like, well, now I'm telling you
- 10:49Speaker 1: that he sucked.
- 10:50Speaker 2: So if you're like I changed my events, I changed
- 10:52Speaker 2: my mind.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Yeah, And there's a moment where it just kind of
- 10:58Speaker 1: all makes so much sense of like I'm just done here. Yeah,
- 11:02Speaker 1: And you can't pick and choose when that time come.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you have to like hit your breaking point. And
- 11:08Speaker 2: I always say, like having cruise around with all the
- 11:11Speaker 2: fighting and stuff that was going on, that really brought
- 11:13Speaker 2: me to my breaking point. A lot of people stay
- 11:15Speaker 2: in relationships because of their kids and things like we
- 11:18Speaker 2: need to stay together, we need to make it through
- 11:20Speaker 2: to college and this and that, and they're like miserable
- 11:23Speaker 2: their whole lives. It just got to the point where
- 11:25Speaker 2: it was so toxic and so bad and my little, sweet,
- 11:28Speaker 2: innocent Cruise, Like having to be around that, it like
- 11:31Speaker 2: broke my heart. So my Mama bear came out and
- 11:33Speaker 2: I was like, nope, like it just completely opened my eyes.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Cruisy is nonverbal. Hm, I feel like that. And I'm
- 11:44Speaker 1: not the mother obviously of a child who's nonverbal. But
- 11:48Speaker 1: he can't tell you what he's feeling, so he kind of,
- 11:51Speaker 1: I'm sure, just internalizes what's going on around him.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Yeah, Like just because he's nonverbal doesn't mean he's not
- 11:58Speaker 2: taking things in and feeling all the same. And I
- 12:00Speaker 2: just could not allow that to happen, Like I have
- 12:03Speaker 2: to be his voice and like protect him at all costs.
- 12:05Speaker 2: And that like really really was like that's with one
- 12:09Speaker 2: hundred percent in my breaking point because he doesn't care
- 12:11Speaker 2: to yell at me in front of anybody. And you
- 12:14Speaker 2: knew that, like it didn't matter. We talked about on
- 12:16Speaker 2: the after show, like it didn't matter who was around,
- 12:20Speaker 2: if it was my mom, if it was my dad,
- 12:22Speaker 2: if it was you guys. You know, I didn't matter.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Not So he didn't care what he said to you,
- 12:28Speaker 1: how he acted. He was not And that's what I
- 12:31Speaker 1: always found so interesting is I'm not an expert when
- 12:35Speaker 1: it comes to the broad the broadness of narcissism. But
- 12:40Speaker 1: I was like, this is so wild because normally in
- 12:43Speaker 1: front of people they want to put on a show,
- 12:47Speaker 1: and then behind closed doors is when all hell breaks loose.
- 12:50Speaker 1: But he really only cared about the audience watching him
- 12:53Speaker 1: on camera.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Yeah, and like social media and stuff, like he didn't
- 12:57Speaker 2: care to fight with me. Like if we were having
- 12:59Speaker 2: a pool party or something at the house, you didn't
- 13:01Speaker 2: care then, But.
- 13:02Speaker 1: You know, it's a camera there, it would be much different. Yeah.
- 13:05Speaker 2: But I mean, look how he traded me with cameras there.
- 13:07Speaker 1: That's true. Yeah, So that's why I'm so confused.
- 13:10Speaker 2: That's just like a lot of people need to realize,
- 13:12Speaker 2: like if that was on camera, think about what I
- 13:14Speaker 2: dealt with all the time, you know, And I think
- 13:16Speaker 2: a lot of people don't realize that. And you know,
- 13:20Speaker 2: it's it does something to your brain. There's like a
- 13:23Speaker 2: chemical addiction or something that I like, you have to
- 13:27Speaker 2: break before you can get away. It's crazy.
- 13:31Speaker 1: You know. It's funny that you say that because I
- 13:33Speaker 1: was having a conversation with a mom friend of mine
- 13:36Speaker 1: the other day and she we were talking about who
- 13:38Speaker 1: I you know, what my type is, who I'd be
- 13:41Speaker 1: interested in dating, and I was like, it's just a
- 13:45Speaker 1: wild thing that I am. So I think of all
- 13:48Speaker 1: the dudes who have come into my life since my ex,
- 13:52Speaker 1: and none of them are productive relationships. I am so
- 13:58Speaker 1: comfortable in combative situations and having to be in fight
- 14:03Speaker 1: mode that I wouldn't even know what to do if
- 14:06Speaker 1: a healthy man walked into my life and it was easy.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I know. I'm like, would I be the red flag now?
- 14:10Speaker 2: I like, yes, Like what in the world, like, just
- 14:14Speaker 2: because I've been through so much and I've got like
- 14:16Speaker 2: baggage now, I feel like Jackson will like try to
- 14:18Speaker 2: scare every guy a date away.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what, there are things that you're you're
- 14:23Speaker 1: gonna have to work through. You're gonna you'll get into
- 14:25Speaker 1: a relationship, I'm sure, and there's gonna be things that
- 14:28Speaker 1: happen that have nothing to do with that relationship, but
- 14:30Speaker 1: they trigger something in you that takes you to a
- 14:32Speaker 1: place where you can't really explain it on why you're
- 14:36Speaker 1: feeling that way. Yep, But I think that same thing.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I'm like, I feel like I have I've done so
- 14:42Speaker 1: much healing and there's so much more to do that
- 14:44Speaker 1: Am I the red flag? Like, if a great guy
- 14:46Speaker 1: comes into my atmosphere, am I gonna push him away?
- 14:50Speaker 1: Because I'm a crazy bitch.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Now, you know, I just feel like we have to
- 14:55Speaker 2: protect ourselves a lot more. Now, we got a lot
- 14:57Speaker 2: more to protect with our kids and with you know,
- 15:00Speaker 2: everything that we have going on. I've got things I
- 15:03Speaker 2: have to protect.
- 15:05Speaker 1: So it's kind of a cool feeling. Yeah, when you
- 15:07Speaker 1: think about where you come from, Like, did you ever
- 15:10Speaker 1: in a million years think that you would be because
- 15:12Speaker 1: you felt like most of the cast we talked about
- 15:15Speaker 1: this on your podcast, every person that was on vander
- 15:18Speaker 1: Pump Rules, we all wanted to be in the industry
- 15:21Speaker 1: in some capacity, and we just found ourselves on reality TV,
- 15:24Speaker 1: which it was like, fuck it, it's a camera whatever.
- 15:27Speaker 1: You literally were like, I'm at a guy and I
- 15:30Speaker 1: just love him, and he happens to be on this show.
- 15:33Speaker 1: You know, I'll look at you.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's wild. It's wild. That's something I hate whenever
- 15:38Speaker 2: people try to act like I looked for Jackson, I
- 15:42Speaker 2: found him out and blah blah blah blah. Absolutely not
- 15:44Speaker 2: Me and Kara ride a bar. They happened to come
- 15:47Speaker 2: to the same bar. I had never even watched vander
- 15:48Speaker 2: Pump rules. Everybody knows this that like actually knows me right,
- 15:52Speaker 2: There was nobody that would ever think I was lying
- 15:54Speaker 2: about that.
- 15:54Speaker 1: You just don't seem to me like someone that would
- 15:56Speaker 1: camp out on the couch and watch Van.
- 15:58Speaker 2: It just it wasn't my face. But you know, I've
- 16:01Speaker 2: talked about this story so many times. Kara saw Katie
- 16:04Speaker 2: wanted to take a photo with Katie. Katie started talking
- 16:07Speaker 2: to us because we both have like thick country accents.
- 16:09Speaker 2: We went to the bar to take a shot with
- 16:11Speaker 2: Katie and Schwartz. That's whenever Jack's walked up to me
- 16:13Speaker 2: and like got my number and stuff that night and
- 16:15Speaker 2: then loved balled me from the very get go. Oh,
- 16:18Speaker 2: like literally before I was even before I even left Vegas,
- 16:21Speaker 2: was like saying I needed to move to La and
- 16:23Speaker 2: this and that, and it just like happened so fast
- 16:26Speaker 2: and like too much. Like two months later I was
- 16:28Speaker 2: moving to.
- 16:29Speaker 1: La I know, like, and you drove, yeah, my little
- 16:33Speaker 1: Altima coop Alie the Ultima did it break down on
- 16:39Speaker 1: the way or something.
- 16:41Speaker 2: It started like the window wouldn't roll it for a second,
- 16:44Speaker 2: and then you know I drove to Sheena's house straight
- 16:46Speaker 2: to Sheena's house on the fourth of July, her parents' house.
- 16:49Speaker 2: So I was it was very hot during the summer.
- 16:51Speaker 2: So you're going through like Texas, New Mexico like a zoning,
- 16:55Speaker 2: like all these like hot, hot, hot states, and my
- 16:59Speaker 2: window was stuck down on one side, so the air
- 17:01Speaker 2: conditioning would not even like work enough to cool off
- 17:04Speaker 2: the car. My car started doing something weird where it
- 17:07Speaker 2: wouldn't go over sixty miles per hour, and I was like,
- 17:11Speaker 2: what the heck is happening. So they had to stop
- 17:13Speaker 2: in this like shady little town and try to get
- 17:16Speaker 2: my car fixed. So I had to stay in a
- 17:17Speaker 2: hotel overnight there while they looked at my car, and
- 17:21Speaker 2: then I made it the rest of the way. I
- 17:23Speaker 2: was by myself too. My dad was flipping out.
- 17:26Speaker 1: I don't think I would have allowed I would never
- 17:27Speaker 1: allow Ocean to drive across country. I just like to
- 17:30Speaker 1: be with a boy. You're tripping. Yeah. Also, when people
- 17:34Speaker 1: say that you were like out here seeking Jack's out
- 17:38Speaker 1: and like, let me tell you something, No, not one
- 17:40Speaker 1: person on the planet would watch fander Pumptles and be
- 17:42Speaker 1: like that's the winner.
- 17:46Speaker 2: After the fat Cara because she had obviously watched the show.
- 17:48Speaker 2: She was like, he's the bad boy. He's the bad boy.
- 17:51Speaker 2: But I've always been attracted to bad boys. I've always
- 17:54Speaker 2: been that girl who wants to change a man, making better.
- 17:56Speaker 2: I'm like such a caretaker and like a nurturer, like
- 17:59Speaker 2: I've like many of my boyfriends I took care of.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Even whenever I was in high school and didn't have
- 18:04Speaker 2: a job, I would like find a way to like
- 18:06Speaker 2: pay for my boyfriend's haircuts or something, you know, Like
- 18:09Speaker 2: that was just like who I was, you know. And
- 18:12Speaker 2: whenever I moved to La, like I would take loans
- 18:15Speaker 2: out because we lived in Koreatown, so I would get
- 18:19Speaker 2: like parking tickets all the time. And instead of asking
- 18:21Speaker 2: Jacks for money, I would like take a loan out
- 18:23Speaker 2: and he wouldn't even know about it, and then I
- 18:25Speaker 2: would like pay the loan off because I was working
- 18:27Speaker 2: at Hooters and Sir and all this stuff, and I
- 18:29Speaker 2: was catering, you know, all different events and stuff. And yeah,
- 18:34Speaker 2: but people always thought like, oh, she took advantage him
- 18:37Speaker 2: for his money. I was like, absolutely not. From day one,
- 18:40Speaker 2: I was even buying my own flights, Like he would
- 18:43Speaker 2: buy one. I would buy one. He would buy one
- 18:45Speaker 2: so it was never like that. Then I was, you know,
- 18:47Speaker 2: taking loans out or working a bunch and doing different jobs,
- 18:50Speaker 2: like I was working like three jobs at one time
- 18:52Speaker 2: once while I was here. And then we always had
- 18:55Speaker 2: separate accounts, so it was always like, did you money
- 18:57Speaker 2: his money?
- 18:58Speaker 1: Did you have separate accounts when you got me?
- 19:00Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 19:00Speaker 1: Did as good?
- 19:01Speaker 2: I never ever ever can pay God, yeah never.
- 19:05Speaker 1: He would have emptied that. Yeah, don't you think.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 19:09Speaker 1: So once Cruisy, by the way, the message that you
- 19:13Speaker 1: sent after Cruise's diagnosis to your family and then you
- 19:18Speaker 1: sent it to me, and yeah, what was your headspace
- 19:21Speaker 1: when they told you?
- 19:23Speaker 2: I was expecting it, like I thought we were going
- 19:26Speaker 2: to get the diagnosis. But then like whenever you get it,
- 19:28Speaker 2: it just makes things a lot more real. It didn't
- 19:31Speaker 2: like really change anything for me, because I mean, of
- 19:35Speaker 2: course it changes things, but like whenever you're expecting that
- 19:38Speaker 2: you're going to get that anyway, it's like it's almost
- 19:42Speaker 2: a relief because you know what's going on, and you
- 19:44Speaker 2: know like Okay, now I have a plan and I
- 19:47Speaker 2: have to start doing this, and I have to do
- 19:49Speaker 2: this and blah blah blah, and like I could start
- 19:51Speaker 2: advocating and I can start, you know, doing different things
- 19:53Speaker 2: to help him that maybe I wasn't sure where I
- 19:56Speaker 2: needed to go before.
- 19:57Speaker 1: If that makes sense, It makes total sense you saying,
- 20:01Speaker 1: you know, with you being a hustler from the very beginning,
- 20:04Speaker 1: and you know you would split things with Jacks, I
- 20:08Speaker 1: can't help but think that all of those things that
- 20:11Speaker 1: you went through it was kind of teeing you up
- 20:14Speaker 1: to be in the position that you're in now, where yeah,
- 20:18Speaker 1: you really are the only person that's taking care of
- 20:21Speaker 1: Cruisy on every level emotionally, financially, on top of being
- 20:27Speaker 1: a voice. I mean, how do you educate yourself? Do
- 20:31Speaker 1: you speak with his therapist and they're telling you are
- 20:35Speaker 1: you researching on your own?
- 20:37Speaker 2: I'm definitely researching on my own. I follow like every
- 20:39Speaker 2: single autism awareness page that you can on social different
- 20:42Speaker 2: social media's and that's very helpful for me. I've had
- 20:46Speaker 2: a lot of moms reach out to me and like
- 20:48Speaker 2: I communicate with them, and I'm going to like really
- 20:50Speaker 2: try to get involved with different charities and stuff this year.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Like that's gonna be like one of my main focuses.
- 20:56Speaker 2: But yeah, I'm always learning. But also, like he goes
- 20:58Speaker 2: to speech there and OT twice a week every week,
- 21:02Speaker 2: so I go, like, he's there right now. So I'm
- 21:05Speaker 2: not there, but I make sure he's there no matter what,
- 21:07Speaker 2: like he does not miss OT and speech. But normally
- 21:10Speaker 2: I go and I sit in there with the therapist
- 21:12Speaker 2: so I'm learning everything that they're doing and so that
- 21:14Speaker 2: I could take it home and practice the same things
- 21:17Speaker 2: that they're practicing with him while he's there. And he
- 21:20Speaker 2: is thriving, like he is doing so well.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I don't even believe like the change since he's been
- 21:27Speaker 1: doing all of this work. Yes, I mean, he's such
- 21:31Speaker 1: a beautiful and happy little boy. I mean, we all
- 21:35Speaker 1: know how Jackson is, but you guys made a very
- 21:39Speaker 1: beautiful yeah Son.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you. Always say that's the best thing that
- 21:43Speaker 2: Jax will ever do. Me too, though, you know, he's
- 21:47Speaker 2: like so amazing and he's so sweet and he's so good,
- 21:51Speaker 2: Like it's he's just he's loving and it's weird because yeah,
- 21:57Speaker 2: he's nonverbal, but like I know everything he needs, like
- 22:00Speaker 2: we're like connected.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Yeah, you're his mom.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's just like, oh my gosh, I just
- 22:05Speaker 2: love him so much. But he's doing so well. His
- 22:07Speaker 2: eye contact and everything like that.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Is just that's what's so much better. Yeah, he makes
- 22:12Speaker 1: complete eye contacts and to see like he and Ocean
- 22:16Speaker 1: were fully playing on the day. Yeah, yeah, which I
- 22:19Speaker 1: thought was adorable. How will we explain to our kids,
- 22:26Speaker 1: because you know, the other day, Cruisy was it's called stemming, right, yeah, yeah,
- 22:31Speaker 1: and Ocean came up to you and she goes, oh,
- 22:34Speaker 1: my gosh, he's acting so crazy.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Well she was. She said, why isn't he talking?
- 22:38Speaker 1: Oh, she said, she said that at Mother's Day? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:41Speaker 2: And Mother's Day she goes, she goes, why is it
- 22:43Speaker 2: Cruisy talking? And I said, I said he will, he'll
- 22:47Speaker 2: talk eventually. I said, his brain just works a little
- 22:49Speaker 2: different than yours, but he will start talking eventually. And
- 22:52Speaker 2: she goes, okay and gave him like a big hug.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Oh.
- 22:54Speaker 2: So she was really.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Sweet because I wonder how we talk to our kids
- 23:00Speaker 1: and they have a child who's autistic in their class. Yeah,
- 23:04Speaker 1: it's hard to break down to a four year.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Old, it is. So there are a lot of different
- 23:09Speaker 2: things I've seen on social media, and I should, honestly
- 23:12Speaker 2: just send it to the group chat for our school
- 23:15Speaker 2: so that like other parents and some of the parents
- 23:16Speaker 2: have reached out to me asking how they should talk
- 23:19Speaker 2: to their kids about, you know, crewise and stuff, and
- 23:21Speaker 2: I appreciate that more than they'll ever know. But there's
- 23:25Speaker 2: like so many different ways that you can like talk
- 23:27Speaker 2: about it. And there's also like Sesame Street is starting
- 23:30Speaker 2: to have characters with autism, Oh really and yeah, so
- 23:33Speaker 2: that you can like let them watch like that episode,
- 23:35Speaker 2: like I think the character's name is Julia, and it
- 23:38Speaker 2: like really talks about how they can play together different
- 23:42Speaker 2: things like that. So inclusion matters so much. And they're
- 23:45Speaker 2: starting to like include all these characters that have autism,
- 23:49Speaker 2: a nonverbal and all these different things. And it's amazing
- 23:52Speaker 2: because then it shows other people how they can play
- 23:54Speaker 2: with them, like how sometimes they might need their space,
- 23:57Speaker 2: how you know, you have to like kind of follow
- 24:00Speaker 2: their lead a little bit. Like I think the Ocean
- 24:02Speaker 2: is really good about not trying to force him to
- 24:05Speaker 2: play or do something that like he doesn't want to do.
- 24:07Speaker 2: She like follows his lead, and you know, she doesn't
- 24:11Speaker 2: always have to do that, but she's like really good
- 24:13Speaker 2: at doing that, you know.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Oh yeah, she's.
- 24:18Speaker 2: So sweet with him, and so is Summer. You know.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I heard one of the parents that I follow on
- 24:24Speaker 2: social media. She was, you know, talking to a class
- 24:28Speaker 2: room and she was like talking about autism, and she
- 24:30Speaker 2: was like, she said something about like how I wish
- 24:33Speaker 2: I could quote it directly, but I'll have to send
- 24:35Speaker 2: you the link after this. But she was talking about how,
- 24:38Speaker 2: like you know, kids with autism, they just their brains
- 24:42Speaker 2: just work a little bit differently. They're born that way,
- 24:44Speaker 2: just like you were born with brown eyes and you
- 24:46Speaker 2: were born with blue eyes, Like that's just how they
- 24:49Speaker 2: were born. And she was like explaining it like that,
- 24:52Speaker 2: and it was it was just very inspiring. She said
- 24:55Speaker 2: other things as well. So I'll make sure I send
- 24:57Speaker 2: that link out.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I would love to see that because there's so much
- 25:01Speaker 1: that goes on in the world now where I don't
- 25:06Speaker 1: really know how to talk to Ocean about it. Like
- 25:09Speaker 1: I had Gigi Gorgeous on the podcast a few months ago,
- 25:14Speaker 1: and it was brought up because Jared came over and
- 25:18Speaker 1: he was in full glam before the Paris HILLTI and
- 25:21Speaker 1: you know, Ocean had never seen Jared with makeup on.
- 25:24Speaker 1: So she came up and was like, Mommy, Jared's here
- 25:27Speaker 1: and he has a lot of makeup on his face.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I'm scared, and I was like, that's so wild because
- 25:34Speaker 1: I've never said anything like this is her genuine feeling,
- 25:37Speaker 1: So how do I now take this and make it
- 25:40Speaker 1: a teachable moment? And the other day she had two
- 25:44Speaker 1: barbies and it was a Cinderella barbie and Teana. She goes,
- 25:48Speaker 1: this one's black and this one's white and they kiss
- 25:52Speaker 1: because girls can kiss too. Yes, that's exactly right. Gigi
- 25:58Speaker 1: was saying, like they just say what they're what they're seeing.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 26:02Speaker 1: And it is something where when you know Cruisey is
- 26:07Speaker 1: doing his thing, how do I teach Ocean to give
- 26:10Speaker 1: him his space? Because she's very much about the why
- 26:13Speaker 1: of things. She wants to know why is he wearing makeup?
- 26:16Speaker 1: Why can he wear a dress? And it's it's not
- 26:18Speaker 1: coming from an ill place, their church, their babies.
- 26:22Speaker 2: I think hate is taught. So like, you know, if
- 26:25Speaker 2: you're you're doing a great job with trying to like
- 26:27Speaker 2: open her eyes to be inclusive with everybody, and that's
- 26:30Speaker 2: what parents should be doing.
- 26:32Speaker 1: It's terrifying, Brittany, Yeah, it is terrifying to be responsible
- 26:37Speaker 1: for children where you're like, oh, I'm responsible for making
- 26:42Speaker 1: you a nice human being. To go out into the
- 26:45Speaker 1: world and be productive and then I like looking in
- 26:49Speaker 1: there sometimes or I'll watch band. I'm not supposed to
- 26:53Speaker 1: be doing this. What am I doing?
- 26:55Speaker 2: You're doing a great job.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Made me a parent? Is is Jack's hands on with
- 27:02Speaker 1: like does he know what to do when Cruisey is
- 27:05Speaker 1: at his house?
- 27:06Speaker 2: Yes? And no, Like I very much take the reins whenever,
- 27:10Speaker 2: even whenever he's over there, like all right, tell him
- 27:13Speaker 2: what to pack and his lunch ball because his backpack.
- 27:15Speaker 2: I pack everything the night before and send it with him.
- 27:17Speaker 2: He doesn't stay there very often. He's probably stayed there
- 27:20Speaker 2: like maybe six times, yes, or seven times overall, and
- 27:23Speaker 2: that's been for a very long time, so you know,
- 27:25Speaker 2: he's always with me. But Jax does a good job
- 27:29Speaker 2: with like wanting to see him and visit him and
- 27:31Speaker 2: stuff like that. And if I need to go do something,
- 27:33Speaker 2: I can normally count on him to like watch him
- 27:35Speaker 2: and stuff.
- 27:36Speaker 1: That's great.
- 27:36Speaker 2: But when it comes like groceries or anything, like I'm
- 27:41Speaker 2: sending lists and you know, making sure that he has
- 27:43Speaker 2: everything that he possibly needs.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Sometimes I wonder is this just like a man thing?
- 27:50Speaker 1: Because I still get messages from my ex and it's like,
- 27:52Speaker 1: what does she like to eat what is she? Yeah,
- 27:55Speaker 1: and because we're not fond of our baby days, it's.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Like what a fucking d know? But I'm like, oh,
- 28:02Speaker 2: how can you not know? But I also took care
- 28:04Speaker 2: of everything while we were together.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Right, so then he like is lost anyways? Yeah, like
- 28:11Speaker 1: he knows how to cut the grass.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Yeah, but now I have turf, so so I don't
- 28:20Speaker 2: really need it.
- 28:21Speaker 1: No one needs to be cutting the grass anymore, no anybody.
- 28:25Speaker 2: I hired a landscaper.
- 28:26Speaker 1: That's great.
- 28:27Speaker 2: So my my flowers are looking better than ever. Honestly
- 28:31Speaker 2: changed all the landscaping out and it's like beautiful, they're
- 28:34Speaker 2: blooming right now.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Well, now it's like your safe space. Yeah, did you
- 28:37Speaker 1: sage it yet?
- 28:39Speaker 2: Uh? Well, Kristen has a couple of times. Yeah, you know,
- 28:44Speaker 2: I don't really know much about that stuff.
- 28:46Speaker 1: She's very into it. Yeah, so we're running along again.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Yes, thank god, that's my life easier.
- 28:53Speaker 1: One person to check off your list. You I got
- 28:57Speaker 1: many more.
- 28:57Speaker 2: To go, but at least, yeah, you guys are checked off.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Do you feel like you're ready to date or are
- 29:03Speaker 1: you just ready to like fuck.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Both? Sometimes? You know, it's been over a year that
- 29:14Speaker 2: i've been separated and might divorce will be final any
- 29:18Speaker 2: day hopefully really so yeah, like fingers crossed, I don't
- 29:22Speaker 2: really like being single.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Partnership.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I get like lonely, But then again,
- 29:29Speaker 2: I do have a lot of things I need to
- 29:30Speaker 2: work on still and I need to heal from things.
- 29:33Speaker 2: But again, people are watching The Valley right now, which
- 29:36Speaker 2: was last summer. I've grown even more of course since
- 29:39Speaker 2: that that aired, you know, a lot stronger within myself.
- 29:43Speaker 2: But I'm having fun. I have a crush, nothing serious,
- 29:47Speaker 2: but yeah, we'll see where it goes.
- 29:50Speaker 1: I was thinking about this. I think we talked about
- 29:52Speaker 1: this on the after show. It has been two years,
- 29:57Speaker 1: maybe even more than that, that I've been intimate with
- 30:02Speaker 1: a man.
- 30:02Speaker 2: I cannot believe that, can you believe?
- 30:04Speaker 1: Though?
- 30:05Speaker 2: That's crazy?
- 30:06Speaker 1: The last time I bumped peeps was I think this
- 30:10Speaker 1: is how I gauge it. It was the weekend before
- 30:13Speaker 1: Ocean's birthday party. Wow, so was March of twenty twenty three.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Wow?
- 30:19Speaker 1: Yeah, is that not the craziest shit ever?
- 30:22Speaker 2: That's been a minute, Like, what the fuck?
- 30:25Speaker 1: And then I got pregnant the following November, and I'm like,
- 30:31Speaker 1: I worry that I'm going to be so comfortable with
- 30:34Speaker 1: being single and in my routine that I will not
- 30:37Speaker 1: be able to find anybody because I'm like, well this
- 30:39Speaker 1: is kind of lit.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think you'll find somebody. I think it'll
- 30:43Speaker 2: happen whenever it's meant to happen, just with me, Like
- 30:45Speaker 2: I'm not in a rush, yeah, by any mains, but
- 30:48Speaker 2: like I do like being with somebody. You know, Yeah,
- 30:51Speaker 2: it's fun, but it doesn't it's not what I'm revolving
- 30:54Speaker 2: my life around. Like I feel like I'm a bad
- 30:56Speaker 2: bitch right now. I'm taking care of everything. Isn't a
- 30:59Speaker 2: house myself? Like it's it's great.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Yeah, And like you said, like a man anything, No,
- 31:07Speaker 1: but that's a good place to be in where like
- 31:09Speaker 1: the person who comes into your life is really going
- 31:12Speaker 1: to have to add because you're not looking for anything.
- 31:15Speaker 1: You don't need a man financially exactly, emotionally, you know,
- 31:19Speaker 1: you've been through a lot to where you're I'm sure thinking,
- 31:21Speaker 1: like I really don't need you for that either, exactly.
- 31:24Speaker 2: I just want somebody that like makes me laugh, is
- 31:26Speaker 2: a good time, respects me, is nice to me, like
- 31:29Speaker 2: actually treats me like I'm supposed to be treated and
- 31:34Speaker 2: you know, obviously loves my family, loves my son. Eventually,
- 31:37Speaker 2: like that's nothing that's gonna happen from the start, Like
- 31:40Speaker 2: it will take me a long time to ever have
- 31:42Speaker 2: anybody around Cruise. But whoever eventually is in my life
- 31:45Speaker 2: will have to be like in love with him.
- 31:47Speaker 1: You know. Yeah, when when would that be? Like how
- 31:51Speaker 1: would you know when it's time to introduce a man
- 31:54Speaker 1: to Cruise?
- 31:54Speaker 2: Well, legally because I put it in my divorce papers, yeah,
- 31:59Speaker 2: that Jacks can't have a female or a somebody that
- 32:04Speaker 2: they're dating. And I can't have somebody that I'm dating
- 32:07Speaker 2: around Cruise unless it's been over six months and we
- 32:09Speaker 2: talked to each other about it. Yeah, And I wanted
- 32:13Speaker 2: to make sure that that was written in ink because
- 32:15Speaker 2: I know Jackson is just like going around town. Me
- 32:19Speaker 2: and Jack's have been very different since the separation, Like
- 32:21Speaker 2: you don't see me out with guys in the public,
- 32:23Speaker 2: and you don't see like headlines and stuff like that
- 32:25Speaker 2: about me private. Yeah, So I just wanted to make
- 32:28Speaker 2: sure that that was something very safe, Like Cruise doesn't
- 32:31Speaker 2: deserve to have people in and out of his life
- 32:33Speaker 2: like that, So I wanted to make sure that that
- 32:35Speaker 2: was like very clear. Again, I don't even know if
- 32:38Speaker 2: six months would be enough. I think it would be
- 32:40Speaker 2: just something that you would have to like really feel like,
- 32:42Speaker 2: is this person going to be around or not?
- 32:44Speaker 1: Well, I think it's gonna be hard for you with
- 32:46Speaker 1: Jacks because unless he makes a huge change in his life,
- 32:53Speaker 1: there's going to be women who are around for a
- 32:57Speaker 1: significant amount of time. Mm hmm better than out And
- 33:01Speaker 1: I kind of had to be okay with that. When
- 33:03Speaker 1: it comes to Ocean, is that she's going to see
- 33:07Speaker 1: much younger women with her dad and they'll be around
- 33:13Speaker 1: for a long period of time until the girl gets
- 33:16Speaker 1: fed up and leaves him, because he would.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Never leave a chick.
- 33:19Speaker 1: But there's already one teed up to bring in the
- 33:22Speaker 1: next round. So I feel like I'm overcompensating. And now
- 33:29Speaker 1: Ocean's asking me, like last night she was playing the
- 33:31Speaker 1: piano and I was with Sosa, and she goes pretend like,
- 33:34Speaker 1: so says your boyfriend, and this is your wedding and
- 33:38Speaker 1: I'm playing the piano and then you guys kiss. Like oh,
- 33:41Speaker 1: now she's asking me.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Like, why don't you have a boyfriend?
- 33:44Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, And she said the other day she said, mom,
- 33:47Speaker 1: are you ever going to get a boyfriend?
- 33:49Speaker 2: Oh?
- 33:49Speaker 1: I said, do you want mommy to get a boyfriend?
- 33:51Speaker 1: She goes, yes, I would like that, And then I
- 33:53Speaker 1: could see her wheels turning, and she goes, mom, what
- 33:56Speaker 1: if your boyfriend is not nice to me? Oh? I said,
- 33:59Speaker 1: then I wouldn't be with him. You're the judge. You're
- 34:02Speaker 1: the one that tells Mommy, like I like him, you
- 34:03Speaker 1: can keep him around, and if you don't like him,
- 34:05Speaker 1: he's gone. And she goes, Okay, so if I don't
- 34:08Speaker 1: like him, I'm just gonna say I don't like you. Next,
- 34:12Speaker 1: I was like, this is a wild so funny. Now
- 34:15Speaker 1: she's thinking her mom's like a boring square, Like yo,
- 34:18Speaker 1: cause you get a boyfriend, bring someone else the boyfriend.
- 34:22Speaker 2: That is hilarious. She is so funny. I love that
- 34:24Speaker 2: little girl.
- 34:25Speaker 1: So it would you'd have to go with your gut.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't have to croize my gut, but it
- 34:29Speaker 2: definitely it would take a while before I would, you know,
- 34:32Speaker 2: have somebody around him, and then yeah, go with my gut.
- 34:36Speaker 2: And then if they didn't like vibe or whatever, then
- 34:38Speaker 2: see you.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Was it hard to sleep with someone new?
- 34:41Speaker 2: No?
- 34:42Speaker 1: It was easy. Yeah, it was just like whatever, goodbye.
- 34:45Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean I was treated so badly and I
- 34:47Speaker 2: had lost all my confidence. So it was like having
- 34:50Speaker 2: somebody give me attention and make me feel good, like
- 34:53Speaker 2: was great. You know I needed that at that time.
- 34:57Speaker 2: You know, there were things like I didn't like about
- 34:59Speaker 2: my body and different things that you know, I had
- 35:02Speaker 2: been putting down and putting down about so many times.
- 35:05Speaker 2: But there have been out there who do not care
- 35:09Speaker 2: and they love you and they just you know, they
- 35:11Speaker 2: love your.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Body and like a womanly body.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Yeah. So I was made to feel like I was
- 35:16Speaker 2: like imperfect for a very long time after having my son,
- 35:20Speaker 2: and you know, it was great to have somebody that
- 35:22Speaker 2: made me feel good.
- 35:23Speaker 1: I like the guy who you fell straight on your
- 35:26Speaker 1: ass out of the shower and you guys laughed and
- 35:29Speaker 1: he still wanted to be with you after.
- 35:33Speaker 2: I hate too in the shower butt neked and you
- 35:39Speaker 2: slipped like you it was like I like slipped on
- 35:41Speaker 2: a banana pill like whoo, went straight back and he
- 35:45Speaker 2: was gonna like hit my head. Oh so it was
- 35:49Speaker 2: so embarrassing. But then the way that we laughed about
- 35:51Speaker 2: it was like so cute.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Get you a man where you can fall buck neked
- 35:59Speaker 1: but around. He laughed about it, and he's like, come here,
- 36:02Speaker 1: let me put it in. Oh my gosh. She's like,
- 36:08Speaker 1: I've never been so turned on. By the way. Then, God,
- 36:12Speaker 1: you didn't get a concussion.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Thank god.
- 36:15Speaker 1: See that's how I know I'm a square. It's like,
- 36:17Speaker 1: you're like, hey, it's so funny. I'm like, oh my god,
- 36:19Speaker 1: did you call nine one one? Well?
- 36:21Speaker 2: In my head like somehow like I didn't hit my head,
- 36:24Speaker 2: like I laid it on my back but kept my
- 36:26Speaker 2: head up or something.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Damn. Yeah.
- 36:28Speaker 2: He was like trying to catch me, and he was
- 36:30Speaker 2: like I thought it was gonna be bad, but you
- 36:32Speaker 2: like somehow didn't hit your head. And I was just like,
- 36:34Speaker 2: don't look at me. It was so embarrassing.
- 36:42Speaker 1: I like it, and I like him. He's talented. Yeah,
- 36:46Speaker 1: FORM going to move on before. I spelled way too
- 36:48Speaker 1: much this season of The Valley I we talked about
- 36:54Speaker 1: this when it first came out the teaser. Yeah, and
- 36:59Speaker 1: you were like, I feel like they could have put
- 37:01Speaker 1: so many other things into it. And I know that
- 37:04Speaker 1: I know that feeling of getting married to your story. Yeah,
- 37:07Speaker 1: and then you're like, why was this cut? And I
- 37:10Speaker 1: love that they showed you still having fun and still
- 37:13Speaker 1: being like the lighthearted Brittany that we all came to love,
- 37:17Speaker 1: like from Kentucky, just like happy to be here.
- 37:19Speaker 2: I think they did a good job with that all season,
- 37:21Speaker 2: because yeah, there's a lot of hard stuff to come,
- 37:23Speaker 2: but I was still like going out with my girls,
- 37:26Speaker 2: having fun, laughing about a lot of stuff. Like there's
- 37:28Speaker 2: a lot of ups and downs the entire season, and
- 37:30Speaker 2: I know the Valley can be really dark at times,
- 37:34Speaker 2: but it's like what we were actually going through ran
- 37:37Speaker 2: We're not hiding stuff, and that's like why people can
- 37:41Speaker 2: relate to what's going on, especially in my life.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Well, yeah, it's a very dark season, but like, what
- 37:47Speaker 1: do you want you guys to do start pretending like
- 37:50Speaker 1: everything's all good. I mean, like you said, this is
- 37:53Speaker 1: what you guys are going through, and I do feel
- 37:56Speaker 1: that so much has changed since you guys filmed that.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Come your guys's next season, you will have the lighthearted moment.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I think next season is going to be,
- 38:08Speaker 2: hopefully knock on Wood a lot better for me because,
- 38:12Speaker 2: like I said, I'm in such a better place and
- 38:16Speaker 2: I have moved on like big time, and I think
- 38:20Speaker 2: I was so struggling a lot last this season, so
- 38:24Speaker 2: it'll be interesting to see how next summer goes.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Do you feel like it's a setback when you have
- 38:28Speaker 1: to when you watch it and then like, I don't
- 38:31Speaker 1: know how you are with the comment section, but like
- 38:33Speaker 1: if you allow yourself to go into the comment section,
- 38:36Speaker 1: is it a set back?
- 38:37Speaker 2: Sometimes? Yeah, And like my team will be like, Brittany,
- 38:42Speaker 2: for your mental health, don't look at that stuff. That's
- 38:44Speaker 2: not who you are. Everyone's allowed to have down moments
- 38:47Speaker 2: and or you know, good moments and blah blah blah,
- 38:49Speaker 2: and it's so up and down. There's a lot more
- 38:51Speaker 2: people that are supporting me that are like hating on
- 38:53Speaker 2: me or doing whatever, so they'll, you know, they'll definitely
- 38:57Speaker 2: be like, do you want me to send you like
- 38:58Speaker 2: all the good comments so that you'll just see that,
- 39:01Speaker 2: you know, that would be excellent. I just I'm such
- 39:04Speaker 2: a people pleaser, so I don't like when people don't
- 39:06Speaker 2: like me. That's just how my personality is.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Yeah, but I thought it was very refreshing this this
- 39:12Speaker 1: uh season so far, especially when you guys were in
- 39:16Speaker 1: Santa Barbara, Yeah, and you got annoyed and it was like,
- 39:19Speaker 1: I share my whole life, and I feel like other
- 39:21Speaker 1: people aren't. And then Nia says, because you're going through
- 39:24Speaker 1: a hard time, yeah, you have to project onto me yep,
- 39:29Speaker 1: And I'm like, no, not at all. It's this is
- 39:31Speaker 1: a reality television show and everyone needs to show up
- 39:34Speaker 1: and share their fucking life or else you make this
- 39:36Speaker 1: really un fun and very hard. Yeah.
- 39:38Speaker 2: A lot of people in my comments about that were
- 39:40Speaker 2: trying to be like pretty just jealous, blah blah blah.
- 39:42Speaker 2: I was like no, I was talking about this one
- 39:44Speaker 2: specific day where I saw different things leading up to it,
- 39:47Speaker 2: which they did show some of it on the show,
- 39:50Speaker 2: like they showed like the fights and this and that,
- 39:52Speaker 2: and I love Nia, I want the best of you them,
- 39:54Speaker 2: but I'm not. That had nothing to do with jealousy
- 39:57Speaker 2: and had to.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Do with such a lazy excuse people.
- 40:00Speaker 2: I had a lot of things and I was like no,
- 40:03Speaker 2: guys like no. And also like a lot of people
- 40:07Speaker 2: thought that I was like either jealous or that like
- 40:10Speaker 2: I cared that Danny was drinking. I did not care.
- 40:12Speaker 2: We would be the last Yeah, I would have been
- 40:15Speaker 2: the last person that carried I cared because I thought
- 40:19Speaker 2: that day that there was a lot of things that
- 40:21Speaker 2: were being hidden and it was just that day. I
- 40:23Speaker 2: love them. I think they're great. If they want to
- 40:24Speaker 2: handle their business how they want to handle it, good
- 40:28Speaker 2: for them. But I was also going through the hardest
- 40:31Speaker 2: time of my wife being raised checks. At twenty four
- 40:33Speaker 2: to seven, you hit your breaking point, Yeah, I just
- 40:35Speaker 2: hit my breaking point. And there was other people that
- 40:37Speaker 2: were feeling the same way. So whenever we talked about
- 40:39Speaker 2: it, it just kind of like, yeah, it got bubbled up
- 40:42Speaker 2: and made into a much bigger deal than I ever
- 40:45Speaker 2: wish it would me in New York. Great, this was
- 40:47Speaker 2: last summer.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I know, I know good.
- 40:50Speaker 2: It was just that one night. And I'm allowed to
- 40:51Speaker 2: have bad days and moments where I.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Get enough if none of you have bad days, Yeah,
- 40:58Speaker 1: I have good days. I don't want to fucking watch
- 40:59Speaker 1: it exact Cress canceled, and a lot of.
- 41:03Speaker 2: People I'm a mean girl, and I'm like, I'm nowhere
- 41:06Speaker 2: near a mean girl, Like come on, Like, I'm allowed
- 41:10Speaker 2: to have an off moment in the hardest time of
- 41:13Speaker 2: my life.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Well, and there's going to be moments this season for
- 41:20Speaker 1: anybody where something that happens is literally just the cherry
- 41:24Speaker 1: on top of like all the other shit that someone's
- 41:27Speaker 1: going through exactly, I think exactly, And honestly, I didn't
- 41:31Speaker 1: feel like it was a projection at all. I've been
- 41:34Speaker 1: a part of filming a show and when people aren't
- 41:36Speaker 1: showing up and being authentic, it's like, fuck you all,
- 41:40Speaker 1: you're making this really hard.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean people that actually are on TV get it.
- 41:44Speaker 2: I guess you know, because it's a more of a
- 41:47Speaker 2: thing like that. But you know, I just I hated
- 41:49Speaker 2: how big it got. But it was also just like
- 41:52Speaker 2: at that point we were all just like like we.
- 41:56Speaker 1: All thoroughly were watching about I feel like, whenever there's
- 42:01Speaker 1: a scene, I.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Just like, yeah, hit my breaking point, and I was
- 42:05Speaker 2: just like enough, guys, if I'm gonna share everything, then
- 42:07Speaker 2: please just share everything too. That's all that it was.
- 42:10Speaker 1: I get it. And you're is it hard filming with
- 42:14Speaker 1: a cast that's so brand new because you've been in
- 42:16Speaker 1: this for many years and you and I both came
- 42:19Speaker 1: on to a show where people were very very well seasoned,
- 42:23Speaker 1: and it came to filming a reality TV show. Now
- 42:26Speaker 1: you're the ogs and you're dealing with people who've never
- 42:28Speaker 1: done this before.
- 42:30Speaker 2: They actually I mean that one little night with Danny
- 42:33Speaker 2: and Niya. I got upset. Yeah, but I feel like
- 42:36Speaker 2: everybody's doing such a great job, Like everybody's bringing it,
- 42:39Speaker 2: you know, Yes, and they all surprised me, honestly.
- 42:43Speaker 1: Were you hesitant going into season one being like, how
- 42:46Speaker 1: is this gonna go? Or did you even think about it?
- 42:48Speaker 2: I didn't really think about that much because they are
- 42:50Speaker 2: all my actual friends, so it kind of makes it easier. Rightever,
- 42:54Speaker 2: you're all actually friends, you know, So were you nervous.
- 42:58Speaker 1: About that because you're, like, I actually like you guys,
- 43:00Speaker 1: And when you add the element of filming a reality
- 43:02Speaker 1: TV show, things can go south and friendships can end
- 43:06Speaker 1: pretty quickly.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it is nerve wracking. I hope that
- 43:09Speaker 2: people don't change the more like popular the show gets
- 43:13Speaker 2: and stuff like that. Would be devastating if like people's
- 43:15Speaker 2: like personalities started to change. Especially I don't feel like
- 43:19Speaker 2: it that they.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Have no I season really going to see Yeah, I
- 43:23Speaker 1: don't think.
- 43:24Speaker 2: No, because I put all these people's names on a
- 43:26Speaker 2: list to be on the show in the first place,
- 43:28Speaker 2: because I actually love them all, And I would be
- 43:30Speaker 2: devastated if like something happened just because like personality change
- 43:36Speaker 2: or their egos got too big or this and that,
- 43:38Speaker 2: and like, I try my best to never change and
- 43:41Speaker 2: say true to who I am, and I just hope
- 43:42Speaker 2: that everybody does that, And so far, everybody's doing amazing well.
- 43:46Speaker 1: I said to Janet when she first started filming in
- 43:49Speaker 1: the season one had aired, which I didn't watch season one,
- 43:52Speaker 1: but I said, my hope for you is that you
- 43:56Speaker 1: always stay who you are, because you're so fun and
- 44:00Speaker 1: so care free that I don't want this world to
- 44:02Speaker 1: kind of make you feel like you have to have
- 44:04Speaker 1: your guard up at all exactly.
- 44:05Speaker 2: And I don't want that for any of my friends
- 44:07Speaker 2: that are on there, you know, yeah, because they're all
- 44:09Speaker 2: such amazing people and that would like break my heart.
- 44:12Speaker 2: But I'm just praying that they won't, that that won't happen.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Yeah, even Jesse, who's kind of like a little douche.
- 44:17Speaker 1: I so enjoy watching him on TV.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and I don't think that he's letting it go
- 44:21Speaker 2: to his head too much. I think he naturally is
- 44:23Speaker 2: like that. But I think that he's doing a good job.
- 44:26Speaker 1: I think you guys are all killing it, And you
- 44:28Speaker 1: know what, I don't know what the filming process was
- 44:30Speaker 1: like for you guys, but I do think that you're
- 44:33Speaker 1: all carrying your way. Yeah. I'm so happy you came
- 44:36Speaker 1: on the podcast. Thanks for having me, Thank you, my love.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Thank you guys so much for listening to another episode
- 44:40Speaker 1: of Give Them All That Podcast. I'm gonna catch you
- 44:42Speaker 1: guys next week. Bye bye,
