- 1:08Speaker 7: Like I said, We're gonna start with John Jay.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I love this game. Is that a FaceTime?
- 1:19Speaker 8: That is a FaceTime?
- 1:21Speaker 2: Man?
- 1:21Speaker 7: They answered, too good for you, John Jay. One point
- 1:24Speaker 7: for John Jay thus far in the game?
- 1:26Speaker 3: Rich was that is somebody feverishly texting.
- 1:34Speaker 7: Oh yeah, yeah, you have to have your ringer on
- 1:36Speaker 7: to hear that one. But you got it right. Good job, Peyton.
- 1:43Speaker 8: Logging into your computer.
- 1:44Speaker 7: I think that's what it is. Okay, anybody have a
- 1:47Speaker 7: guess in the room, because that's wrong.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Is that if you have your Alexa hooked up to
- 1:51Speaker 3: your ring when something gets dropped.
- 1:52Speaker 8: Off, that's exactly what it is. It's a delivery from.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Alex, which way in my house happens so often because
- 2:00Speaker 3: my beautiful wife Stacy doesn't go anywhere. She only orders
- 2:03Speaker 3: things online.
- 2:04Speaker 8: Oh I don't have that.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I don't have it. I don't even have an Alexa anymore.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Or Alexa took off.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Yeah, if you got it hooked up to your ring,
- 2:10Speaker 4: text notification that Amazon dropped off my.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Package, which is kind of scary too, because you know
- 2:15Speaker 3: how Amazon drops off stuff sometimes at two or three
- 2:17Speaker 3: in the morning. You'll hear it go like super early.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Want that that's what my phone's on, silent. I don't
- 2:24Speaker 3: want that noise.
- 2:25Speaker 7: One point for John Jay, one point for Rich Wait
- 2:29Speaker 7: for Peyton in round two to get on the board, Kyle.
- 2:36Speaker 3: That's really are is at the beginning of fifty cent
- 2:38Speaker 3: in the club. Okay, I want to say it's like
- 2:44Speaker 3: a streaming.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, it's like Windows.
- 2:49Speaker 8: That's what I thought too, it is.
- 2:52Speaker 7: It is a Windows noise. It's when you get an
- 2:54Speaker 7: error on your computer.
- 2:55Speaker 8: Ah, you get it wrong or something?
- 2:59Speaker 7: All right, nice track, Kyle, half point because it's from Windows.
- 3:02Speaker 8: All right, Savannah, you ready, I think.
- 3:06Speaker 3: So let's go.
- 3:10Speaker 6: Is that when you send an email?
- 3:12Speaker 8: Let's right?
- 3:14Speaker 7: Okay, after one round, Savannah, John Jay, and Rich all
- 3:18Speaker 7: tied with one point, move on to a round two
- 3:21Speaker 7: to John Jay.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Oh my god, boy, this is such a great game
- 3:28Speaker 2: because every single one of these sounds sounds so familiar.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Can I hear it again? Sure? Is that? Uh? Is
- 3:37Speaker 1: that an I am?
- 3:39Speaker 6: An?
- 3:39Speaker 8: I am?
- 3:40Speaker 3: Is?
- 3:40Speaker 8: It's incorrect?
- 3:41Speaker 4: That sounds like a streaming service, like a like an Apple.
- 3:44Speaker 6: Are you able to steal ahead?
- 3:46Speaker 8: Savannah?
- 3:48Speaker 6: It's when the TikTok video ends.
- 3:50Speaker 8: Yep, it's from the TikTok That was so tricky. All right, sorry,
- 4:00Speaker 8: on Jay one point in the whole game. We'll move
- 4:03Speaker 8: on out of Rich.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Oh that's when John Jay leaves his computer up during
- 4:10Speaker 3: the show. He's getting emails online.
- 4:12Speaker 8: Oh my god, it's a thousand.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Yeah, way to go, And I wasn't I wasn't checking email?
- 4:21Speaker 1: All right?
- 4:22Speaker 7: Rich with two points ties up Savannah, Peyton, it looks.
- 4:34Speaker 3: So confused right now.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Okay, so that's obviously some sort of like ancient artifacts.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Noise ancient.
- 4:43Speaker 4: That is like, definitely like your mom's fax machine or something.
- 4:48Speaker 7: Is that a euphemism. Uh no, it's not. It's not
- 4:51Speaker 7: my mom's fax machine. It's not a fact machine.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Is that a pager one of those things where you
- 4:55Speaker 4: would like dial or whatever.
- 4:56Speaker 7: Does the other millennial in the room want to know
- 4:59Speaker 7: when I think that AOL dial up?
- 5:01Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 5:01Speaker 8: Dial ap internet, that's what we're looking for.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I never had to do you have to
- 5:05Speaker 4: wait to connect. I just go straight on to the
- 5:08Speaker 4: Wi Fi.
- 5:10Speaker 3: To wait for people to get up the phone at
- 5:11Speaker 3: your house to connect.
- 5:14Speaker 7: All right, nice try, Peyton. I appreciate the effort. Move
- 5:17Speaker 7: on out, Kyle.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Okay.
- 5:24Speaker 3: And that is like when you open up your computer.
- 5:26Speaker 7: Yeah, that's when the windows opens. Yeah, okay, a point
- 5:29Speaker 7: and a half for Kyle. But here's the deal. Savannah
- 5:33Speaker 7: can win the game. She has two points already, but
- 5:35Speaker 7: she has to get this one right.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Oh, all right, to.
- 5:44Speaker 8: Go, good job, Savannah.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Where do the GOA domination? We're gonna set you up
- 5:49Speaker 1: with kill tickets. Savannah, thanks for listening.
- 5:51Speaker 6: Oh perfect, Thank you so much.
- 5:54Speaker 2: You got will do it again tomorrow and in an
- 5:56Speaker 2: hour from now we got Gym Class Heroes. Thanks Savannah.
- 6:01Speaker 2: That was a great game, Nick, that was fun.
- 6:04Speaker 3: You know what. Thank you.
- 6:04Speaker 8: It was fun to play with you guys to have.
- 6:09Speaker 2: So BuzzFeed did a story and this is really relatable
- 6:12Speaker 2: on things that everyone used to think were affordable but
- 6:16Speaker 2: now they feel like a luxury. So we put it
- 6:19Speaker 2: on Facebook. Eight seven seven nine three seven one four seven.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I'm gonna go over this list, but we want to
- 6:24Speaker 2: hear from you. What are things that used to be
- 6:26Speaker 2: affordable but are now like a luxury? And before I
- 6:30Speaker 2: I'll go over this list, but we'll say, hey to Brandy, Brandy,
- 6:32Speaker 2: what do you have?
- 6:33Speaker 1: What? What's what's a luxury now that was affordable? I
- 6:38Speaker 1: said soda? Yeah, soda.
- 6:42Speaker 3: I would say, like just groceries. Yeah, well that's that's
- 6:45Speaker 3: a big one.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Well it's funny because red meat is on the list
- 6:50Speaker 2: and it says the rest of the groceries are so
- 6:52Speaker 2: much money that people started cutting back on their protein too.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Thanks Brandy, Roxy, Thank you Roxy. What what's good morning.
- 7:01Speaker 2: What is a what's a what was affordable and now
- 7:04Speaker 2: it's a luxury.
- 7:05Speaker 5: But for me, it's getting your car washed, full wash,
- 7:10Speaker 5: full service wash, like.
- 7:11Speaker 3: The full Yeah, they used to be like eight dollars.
- 7:15Speaker 5: Eight dollars riches, just taking it through and running.
- 7:19Speaker 3: The water over.
- 7:20Speaker 2: You're right, that's why I don't watch my car. I
- 7:23Speaker 2: never watched my car, and it's just frightening to me.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I never watched my cars, so ridiculous. That's a good one.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Roxy we'll put it on the list. Thank you, my.
- 7:37Speaker 8: Sheelle, good morning.
- 7:40Speaker 6: Yes, that a nice like latte.
- 7:47Speaker 5: The four dollars and now I'm.
- 7:50Speaker 6: Like it's up like two more dollars, which makes a
- 7:52Speaker 6: difference if you're trying to drink it every day. And
- 7:56Speaker 6: then I went and I even bought an espresso machine.
- 7:58Speaker 6: I was like, okay, so I'm calculating. I'm like, oh,
- 8:00Speaker 6: it'll be like a dollar a day. But now the
- 8:03Speaker 6: orders instead of being fifty dollars, they's seventy dollars for
- 8:08Speaker 6: the pods, Like yeah, yeah, yeah, because you buy the sleeves.
- 8:12Speaker 6: So I'm like, oh, and I'm the one. My husband's like, oh,
- 8:15Speaker 6: buy him. I'm like I Wrother you get missed seventy
- 8:17Speaker 6: dollars for something else, So I'm on that instant coffee.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Hey, how much was the espresso machine?
- 8:24Speaker 6: I bought it at Costco for one eighty and I
- 8:27Speaker 6: bought it at Costco because if it ever breaks down,
- 8:30Speaker 6: you could return them. And they had mentioned that those
- 8:34Speaker 6: breakdown often, and I was so scared. I've ben blessed
- 8:38Speaker 6: my machinery. Please don't break on me.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Did you get.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Then expresso version or a different version of Espresso?
- 8:45Speaker 6: Yeah, he's an Espresso.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Like I have a really old one and the pods changed.
- 8:49Speaker 3: They like try to get you to buy the new machine,
- 8:51Speaker 3: so I have to go. I have to go somewhere
- 8:54Speaker 3: else to buy old pods because they're shaped totally different.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Now.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I have then Espresso pods too, and you're right,
- 8:58Speaker 4: they are pricey. It's like Bucks for twelve little espresso shots.
- 9:02Speaker 4: That's pretty well.
- 9:04Speaker 6: When up they used to be ten Bucks. Now it's
- 9:07Speaker 6: the thirteen, fourteen, even fifteen.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Well, you know, I go.
- 9:11Speaker 2: So I'm new to the coffee world and I've been shopping.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I've been hitting Starbucks here while I'm in San Diego.
- 9:18Speaker 2: And I know because I'm new I don't remember the
- 9:21Speaker 2: price is going up because I'm still new to the
- 9:23Speaker 2: price to the coffee world. I got a coffee tay
- 9:26Speaker 2: with seven dollars and forty five cents. Yeah, selling a
- 9:29Speaker 2: lot to me, John.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Jay, you're in San Diego, like they have some like
- 9:32Speaker 4: really good coffee shops there. Why are you just going.
- 9:34Speaker 2: To Starbucks because it's four am, well, and the normal
- 9:38Speaker 2: coffee shops are over there until the surfers are away.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Six heyd I do a radio morning show when we
- 9:45Speaker 1: get up really really good.
- 9:46Speaker 4: We get up really I'm just saying, like, I feel
- 9:49Speaker 4: like you're going to Starbucks when you could be going
- 9:51Speaker 4: to some cool surfer shop.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm not going to drink coffee.
- 9:54Speaker 6: I've been trying to go local and it's even worse.
- 9:58Speaker 6: Nice coffee shop here, and and it's seven dollars for
- 10:02Speaker 6: a nice small coffee small. Yeah.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funny. Say, I was walking. So I'm in
- 10:07Speaker 2: San Diego and yesterday I was trying to I was walking.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I wanted I was feeling a little under the weather,
- 10:11Speaker 2: so I wanted to get a vitamin drip and I
- 10:13Speaker 2: like google vitamin drip places and I find this one
- 10:15Speaker 2: place so I go there to get a vitamin drip.
- 10:18Speaker 2: And I walk into a place and go, Hi, I'm
- 10:20Speaker 2: here to get the drip. They go like, what give
- 10:21Speaker 2: an appointment? I said, yeah, they give me my name
- 10:23Speaker 2: to go. No, we don't have you down. I talked
- 10:25Speaker 2: to somebody and text with somebody. Oh that's next door.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Like huh, so next door to an IV vitamin place
- 10:30Speaker 2: is another IV vitamin place.
- 10:33Speaker 1: So I go in there.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Then I leave and I decide to walk down the
- 10:35Speaker 2: street and there's a coffee shop, then another coffee shop,
- 10:38Speaker 2: then another vitamin IV drip place. It's like it's a
- 10:41Speaker 2: street full of wellness and coffee.
- 10:44Speaker 1: I would think that there would be.
- 10:45Speaker 8: Some sort of like noncompete typos.
- 10:48Speaker 1: It's crazy and.
- 10:49Speaker 3: The fact that they give away the other like come
- 10:51Speaker 3: on in, even though you have an appointment next door,
- 10:53Speaker 3: We'll get you in, sir. Our vitamin drip's better. But
- 10:56Speaker 3: they didn't even do that, did they?
- 10:57Speaker 1: No, prop Michelle, thanks for calling inlor gotter, what's something
- 11:03Speaker 1: that they used to be affordable? But he got I
- 11:06Speaker 1: got a couple.
- 11:07Speaker 5: I'm thinking having kids for sure. And then beyond that
- 11:10Speaker 5: also haircut, like haircuts you used to be twenty bucks
- 11:14Speaker 5: now it's one.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Hundred, one hundred.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Yeah, the hell kind of hair? Do you got? Fabio hair?
- 11:19Speaker 2: What?
- 11:19Speaker 3: Yeah? Where are you going? And it's one hundred? Well
- 11:22Speaker 3: it's not the best places, I guess.
- 11:25Speaker 1: But I mean, seriously, it used to be like twenty bucks.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Now you're forty eighty bucks if you throw Beard Trimm
- 11:29Speaker 3: in there.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Yeah, no, he's not wrong.
- 11:31Speaker 2: My brother was literally just talking about having to switch
- 11:33Speaker 2: barbers because he takes his two boys and himself and
- 11:36Speaker 2: he's like, it got so out of control.
- 11:37Speaker 1: It's like we can't go here anymore because it's so expensive.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Well, I recommend Scott Still barber Shop twenty five dollars
- 11:43Speaker 2: for a haircut, whereas my son Dutch goes to well,
- 11:47Speaker 2: what's it called super cuts for nine nine dollars. Yeah,
- 11:51Speaker 2: all right, thanks man, Brian. Oh hold on, Brian's got
- 11:55Speaker 2: some mouse. Oh yeah, well Brian, go ahead, you're on
- 11:56Speaker 2: the air. Good gourding. I was trying to think of
- 12:01Speaker 2: something that was cheap and that was a luxury. Remember
- 12:03Speaker 2: back when television was free and now we pay probably subscription.
- 12:06Speaker 2: That's hard, man, that's just I know, it's so sick,
- 12:10Speaker 2: so sick.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Speaking of subscriptions.
- 12:11Speaker 3: I binge watched that lucky show you watched or you mentioned, yeah,
- 12:15Speaker 3: are you all caught up?
- 12:17Speaker 1: Yes?
- 12:17Speaker 3: And then we jumped off of that one and went
- 12:20Speaker 3: to maximum Pleasure Guarantee and that one was wild.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I finished that that show pissed me off. It's the
- 12:32Speaker 2: last episode ends with a kind of a lame cliffhanger
- 12:35Speaker 2: for a season two. And I don't think that show
- 12:37Speaker 2: deserves the season two. But thanks, thanks calling and dog.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Thanks so here here's some other things on the list.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Here's some things this list that were that used to
- 12:45Speaker 2: be affordable and now they are not.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Vet care.
- 12:48Speaker 2: It says it's way too expensive and pet insurance never
- 12:51Speaker 2: seems to cover it.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Vet care.
- 12:52Speaker 2: I also saw today that CBS is starting to let
- 12:55Speaker 2: they got approval to to give your pet medicine.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Oh really, that's cool.
- 13:00Speaker 8: Yeah interesting.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:02Speaker 2: By the way, speaking of pet care, you know, my
- 13:04Speaker 2: wife's launched that love Pup plus. Check it out love
- 13:06Speaker 2: puplus dot com and it's got all everything you need
- 13:09Speaker 2: to know about your dog.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Oh that's in the story. Are you talking about the
- 13:12Speaker 3: website or the app? Is ready?
- 13:14Speaker 1: The website? I don't know if the apps ready?
- 13:15Speaker 9: Yeh okay, Larissa, Oh, yesterdaday morning, I was in shock.
- 13:25Speaker 9: Yesterday I went to Salad and Go and I remember
- 13:29Speaker 9: going there specifically because those salads were so cheap. They
- 13:32Speaker 9: were like five bucks in a year's drive by there
- 13:36Speaker 9: before work pick up a salad. They went to six
- 13:39Speaker 9: dollars and seven dollars. I haven't been there in a while,
- 13:42Speaker 9: and yesterday was nine dollars and twenty five cents.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Shot lots of filler there, like shock and like a
- 13:49Speaker 4: lemonade was like two dollars.
- 13:51Speaker 1: What salad did you get there?
- 13:52Speaker 2: You used to get the autumn one was such a
- 13:54Speaker 2: great one in a wrap.
- 13:56Speaker 5: See Buffalo chicken is Oh, that's a good one.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Was there a line because that place used to be
- 14:02Speaker 2: lying around the door. Really it's still a line.
- 14:06Speaker 9: Not anymore because it's.
- 14:08Speaker 1: It's nine dollars. You know what happened here? This is
- 14:10Speaker 1: this is my opinion, no offense to Solid and Go.
- 14:13Speaker 2: But from what I understand, the story with Solid goes
- 14:16Speaker 2: A couple of teachers and Gilbert started it and then
- 14:18Speaker 2: it took off right and they had the best ingredients
- 14:20Speaker 2: and they sold. So now the company they sold it
- 14:23Speaker 2: to started going, well, we're gonna save money, and get
- 14:26Speaker 2: these cheaper tomatoes. We're gonna save money. Get this cheaper lettuce,
- 14:29Speaker 2: we're gonna save And so now it tastes different. And
- 14:30Speaker 2: then that's why they raising the price, because now people
- 14:32Speaker 2: aren't like it used to be. It's in my opinion,
- 14:35Speaker 2: that's what my own little mathematical opinion. So no more
- 14:39Speaker 2: sal all right, thanks Worris. So also here's on this list.
- 14:43Speaker 2: It used to be used to be affordable. Now to
- 14:45Speaker 2: luxury concert tickets, concert tickets. That's why you need concert
- 14:49Speaker 2: tickets from us. We got free concert tickets every day.
- 14:51Speaker 2: We just gave away. Kill Annie. We've got gym class
- 14:54Speaker 2: heros coming up in forty five minutes. Babysitters, they say, babysitters.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I don't know what babysitters cost a lot? Uh sneakers,
- 15:01Speaker 2: tennis shoes, think about that for a second.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Tennis shoes, got crazy movie tickets.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Yep, that's for sure.
- 15:08Speaker 2: The cost of maintenance on your house. Good luck getting
- 15:11Speaker 2: anything fixed for a reasonable price. I feel that someone
- 15:14Speaker 2: said in any house. Someone said, in nineteen fifty five,
- 15:17Speaker 2: my parents bought their home for sixteen thousand dollars. My
- 15:19Speaker 2: father made five thousand dollars a year today that same
- 15:22Speaker 2: household for one point seven million.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Wow, holy smokes. Yeah, Tiffany, good morning, Jane.
- 15:31Speaker 5: What about gas? Yeah, gasoleen is crazy. I remember when
- 15:37Speaker 5: I was younger, it was like ninety nine cents a gallon.
- 15:41Speaker 3: I don't think that's coming out.
- 15:43Speaker 5: I know, I don't think it easier, but long shot.
- 15:47Speaker 5: But yeah, it feels like, oh no, we can't just
- 15:50Speaker 5: take a quick trip here because I.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Think just traveling anywhere, because airplane tickets to me are
- 15:55Speaker 3: like astronomical two.
- 15:56Speaker 4: It's almost as if like everything's double, Like gas is double.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Oh it took me twenty five to fill my gas
- 16:02Speaker 4: take now it's about fifty Yeah.
- 16:03Speaker 5: All of right? Or what about cigarettes? I don't smoke,
- 16:07Speaker 5: but I remember back in the day my mom would smoke,
- 16:09Speaker 5: and well she still does. But packs of cigarettes are
- 16:13Speaker 5: like fifteen dollars.
- 16:14Speaker 8: Now that's crazy.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Well, here's a text that says what used to be
- 16:19Speaker 2: normal but as a luxury, anything in your vehicle that
