- 0:19Speaker 1: little roundtable. We're gonna do that again coming up in
- 0:21Speaker 1: a little bit. Greg co Sell is gonna rejoin us
- 0:25Speaker 1: from the Inside the Tape podcast, and of course.
- 0:27Speaker 2: You know him from the Matchup Show.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Speaking of the Matchup Show, Zal Powell will join us
- 0:31Speaker 1: tonight in around five to ten, and we're gonna be
- 0:33Speaker 1: checking in with Cooper Dejen and Red Blanketship at five
- 0:37Speaker 1: o'clock plus Kevin Harlan, the voice of Super Bowl sixty.
- 0:41Speaker 3: With Man right now.
- 0:43Speaker 1: That is the voice of Adam Kaplan from the Inside
- 0:45Speaker 1: the Birds podcast for today's Football.
- 0:47Speaker 3: At four in person two days in row boys, but
- 0:50Speaker 3: three days, three days. I'm so yeah. You gotta understand
- 0:52Speaker 3: this three hour time difference is crush. It is I know,
- 0:55Speaker 3: and it's you know, it's your twenty five of these.
- 0:57Speaker 3: For me, it's now media.
- 0:59Speaker 2: We're all.
- 0:59Speaker 3: I'm sorry for calling radio whir but it never changes.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Mike.
- 1:02Speaker 3: I know you guys have been to a bunch of them.
- 1:03Speaker 3: I've seen you there and broadcast you before. So how's
- 1:06Speaker 3: it been for you?
- 1:07Speaker 1: The week we just got done talking to Barry Sanders
- 1:11Speaker 1: Cohen was just on from on Sports Fanlight, one of
- 1:13Speaker 1: our buddies there. Of course Barry was on. We had
- 1:15Speaker 1: Nikobe Dean on earlier or something. He's adamant that he
- 1:19Speaker 1: wants to come back. I was gonna say, do you
- 1:22Speaker 1: see a scenario where he's able to come back?
- 1:25Speaker 3: Eagles love him. But the thing is, have they not
- 1:27Speaker 3: drafted jo Hot Campbell right the first round? Who who
- 1:31Speaker 3: they traded up for has to play? It's a crowded room,
- 1:34Speaker 3: I know in Scott and as I tell on our
- 1:36Speaker 3: Patreon group, because they're like, you know, they're they're n
- 1:40Speaker 3: Kobe Dean heights. You know, they're like, hey, is there
- 1:42Speaker 3: any way I said, guys, if they played a forty
- 1:44Speaker 3: three front, absolutely they can make it. They can do this,
- 1:46Speaker 3: make it work. But they only play two linebackers. They're
- 1:48Speaker 3: a nickel team. They're only going to play two. They're
- 1:50Speaker 3: not they're not running it. They don't run any even
- 1:51Speaker 3: front they running on front. You play into inside backers,
- 1:54Speaker 3: as Vic would say, And that's it. It's just you
- 1:57Speaker 3: never say never. I've learned with Howie. I've learned my lesson.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Just when you think Jaris is going to be caught,
- 2:02Speaker 3: five hours later, do an extension with him. So I've
- 2:04Speaker 3: learned my lesson. Don't don't say anything guaranteed with how It.
- 2:07Speaker 1: He was very admant in fact that he's saying like
- 2:10Speaker 1: he loves it here and he thought that Kim Campbell
- 2:12Speaker 1: and Bond could co exist and you know, I don't
- 2:16Speaker 1: know how it all fits. But we also asked about
- 2:19Speaker 1: Vic Fangio. Was he surprised to hear himsel about Andrew.
- 2:21Speaker 1: He said no, because Fanjo had made it clear that
- 2:24Speaker 1: he would think about he would leave if he wasn't
- 2:27Speaker 1: enjoying doing it anymore. That's kind of interesting. That is
- 2:30Speaker 1: he not enjoying?
- 2:32Speaker 2: Right? Is that not what he said?
- 2:33Speaker 4: Yeah, it was basically like he was saying along the
- 2:36Speaker 4: same lines of you know, if it was time, it
- 2:38Speaker 4: was time, and he would feel.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Like if having fun doing this anymore, wow, I'll hang
- 2:43Speaker 1: him out.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Yeah, and apparently I did. I I think, I mean
- 2:47Speaker 3: Jeff might have mentioned it or Andrew one of them
- 2:50Speaker 3: that Nakobe said through the locker in the locker room
- 2:55Speaker 3: this year. Maybe he was during the playoffs or maybe
- 2:57Speaker 3: after it was clean out day that you know he
- 2:58Speaker 3: was thinking about it. Last year, VIC said that I
- 3:01Speaker 3: guess to them privately, I mean in a meaning, hey man,
- 3:05Speaker 3: this might be it. Look, you always want to go out.
- 3:07Speaker 2: In your own way.
- 3:08Speaker 3: You know you don't. You don't want to be pushed out,
- 3:11Speaker 3: because I've seen this around the league. But vick Is
- 3:13Speaker 3: actually should be a Hall of Famer. I voted for
- 3:15Speaker 3: in Profitable Rights Association. It was McDaniels one that I
- 3:19Speaker 3: don't think they did an offensive defensive one, because if
- 3:21Speaker 3: they did, I would have voted for Vic for defensive.
- 3:25Speaker 3: He is really amazing. I would argue you, guys, you've
- 3:28Speaker 3: been around long enough. He may be the most important
- 3:30Speaker 3: assistant coaching Eagles history. There's zero chance their winning Super
- 3:34Speaker 3: Bowl last year. Zero.
- 3:35Speaker 2: He has surpassed Jim Johnson in population.
- 3:38Speaker 3: And it's funny, you say, because I've always compared the
- 3:40Speaker 3: two because they both would give out great information and
- 3:42Speaker 3: Jim will laugh because I shouldn't said that.
- 3:43Speaker 2: He'd laugh.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Opes well, I said it because Jim Johnson became popular
- 3:47Speaker 1: because of the fact that he blitzed so much.
- 3:49Speaker 2: And Vick is not a big blitzer.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Zone blitzer, right zone blitz although vic Vic when he
- 3:56Speaker 3: has to, he does it reluctantly. But he played more
- 3:59Speaker 3: man coverage this year this past season. But overall, look,
- 4:01Speaker 3: Vic's gonna return. But the Stalin thing I know is
- 4:05Speaker 3: hanging over everything. It's really remarkable to me, and I'm
- 4:08Speaker 3: I'm just as stunned as everybody else. I based on
- 4:11Speaker 3: what we were told, we weren't wrong because I just
- 4:16Speaker 3: stout was supposed to come back and he decided he's not.
- 4:19Speaker 3: But it's not I I Jeff has something really good.
- 4:23Speaker 3: We're gonna we're gonna have some information on Monday Morning
- 4:25Speaker 3: show at six am Eastern. Pretty much times on your own,
- 4:28Speaker 3: but they're at six am Eastern and we're gonna have
- 4:30Speaker 3: a little bit more on this. We have some interesting
- 4:32Speaker 3: stuff which may or may not get other people may
- 4:34Speaker 3: know about it. I'm not sure, but I'm still stunned
- 4:37Speaker 3: by this. It would it's just a it's just a
- 4:40Speaker 3: weird thing. Scott it's just we've had a crazy offseason
- 4:43Speaker 3: so far. I mean it's been a crazy week.
- 4:46Speaker 4: I mean, one day it's the Staltland thing, and then
- 4:48Speaker 4: today we're hearing about you know, Landon Dickerson and possibly
- 4:54Speaker 4: and then Lane Johnson, and it sounds more like maybe
- 4:56Speaker 4: Lane's gonna come back and give this another shot with
- 4:58Speaker 4: this staff. But Dickerson, you know, we've seen him so
- 5:02Speaker 4: banged up and he can the body allow him to
- 5:06Speaker 4: do what he wants to do or have we seen
- 5:08Speaker 4: perhaps the last time that Landon Dickerson is.
- 5:10Speaker 3: In an Eagles Yoah. I think he's twenty seven, and
- 5:16Speaker 3: I really thought that maybe he might make it to thirty.
- 5:20Speaker 3: That's why I didn't think he would retire this or
- 5:22Speaker 3: I know it's out there a couple of reports which
- 5:24Speaker 3: I know are definitely true. He's considering it. But Scott,
- 5:28Speaker 3: you touched on it. You have to look at the
- 5:30Speaker 3: totality of his injury history, both acls. Without looking up,
- 5:34Speaker 3: I think he's had four significant knee injuries his career.
- 5:39Speaker 3: He might have had two acls, maybe one knee and
- 5:41Speaker 3: one the other repaired. But I think he might have
- 5:44Speaker 3: had the tight rope surgery from because that's the bigger
- 5:46Speaker 3: surgery that the Alabama players had.
- 5:48Speaker 2: To a hat.
- 5:48Speaker 3: It's and then his weight was you know, other teams
- 5:51Speaker 3: were telling us. I've put it on our show Inside
- 5:53Speaker 3: the Birds. He looks very heavy now you wonder And
- 5:57Speaker 3: greg O still said it on your show yesterday. Guys,
- 6:00Speaker 3: he said, I mean you want you know what he's done,
- 6:01Speaker 3: he's going to be You worry about it. You're right,
- 6:05Speaker 3: I did say that, And that's Scott to enter or
- 6:07Speaker 3: just discuss this further. That's where he's at and why
- 6:11Speaker 3: only twenty seven, he's got the nise maybe a fifty
- 6:14Speaker 3: year old you You just worry, and you worry for his health.
- 6:16Speaker 3: And I hope he's you know, I hope, uh he
- 6:19Speaker 3: makes a right choice. And it's it's hard to walk away,
- 6:22Speaker 3: but he's a super Bowl winner and I'm gonna this
- 6:24Speaker 3: is a this is a real quick story I want
- 6:25Speaker 3: to tell you. I I asked h Bill Paullion, Hall
- 6:29Speaker 3: of Fame general manager, said, Bill, was there any player
- 6:32Speaker 3: you would have overruled your medical staff and you're not
- 6:35Speaker 3: supposed to do that. You just go by like how
- 6:37Speaker 3: he didn't overrules medical staff? And DK metcalf D had
- 6:40Speaker 3: the medical staff had a concern with a neck coodnt
- 6:43Speaker 3: draft where they want draft him the second and Seattle
- 6:46Speaker 3: drafted him and then obviously the train him. But that
- 6:48Speaker 3: was a good draft. Bill told me only one player,
- 6:51Speaker 3: Rob Gronkowski, who got medical medically red flat guys that
- 6:56Speaker 3: you know mister year at Arizona back he'd a hit
- 6:59Speaker 3: m medical rejact. He said, you know what, I should
- 7:03Speaker 3: have done it. I don't care if he would have
- 7:05Speaker 3: had a six or seven year career. It would have
- 7:06Speaker 3: been worth it because this guy's a game changing.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Well and then you have the news this morning that
- 7:13Speaker 1: Lane Johnson's also kind of on the fence here. Now
- 7:15Speaker 1: is that, Hey, Stalton's gone new.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I don't want to go through this. He's only Stalton's
- 7:22Speaker 2: the only off of the Blancos he's ever had.
- 7:24Speaker 1: You want some new guy coming in here telling Hey,
- 7:27Speaker 1: whatever technique you learned under Stalin, I'm gonna change it
- 7:29Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Yeah. We'll talk to Greg co Sell hopefully later this.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Tour min Yeah, he's going to join us about one third.
- 7:35Speaker 3: I want to talk about vertical set horizonal West Coast.
- 7:40Speaker 3: You know he watches the tape what angles as we
- 7:44Speaker 3: report her on inside the birds like not just the players,
- 7:47Speaker 3: but with Stout. The big reason why he didn't like
- 7:51Speaker 3: prestat motion was because of the angles. You have to
- 7:53Speaker 3: change the way you block because the defensive front is
- 7:57Speaker 3: going to change because they see you motion it and out.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Then what Stout just didn't like it? It wasn't I know.
- 8:02Speaker 3: There are rumors which I believe were so much true,
- 8:04Speaker 3: that Hurts is not big on it, but Stott was
- 8:06Speaker 3: way out there on it. And guys, this this scheme,
- 8:10Speaker 3: Mike is all about prestep movement and deception, and it's
- 8:15Speaker 3: just it's gonna change. As Greg said yesterday, it's going
- 8:19Speaker 3: to be a challenge for Hurts. But you know what,
- 8:22Speaker 3: this guy's an upper half of the of NFL quarterbacks.
- 8:25Speaker 3: We don't do rankings, but clear in the upper half.
- 8:28Speaker 3: He's very competitive. We have seen time and throw Scott,
- 8:32Speaker 3: but he's never done it consistently. Here we go, it's
- 8:34Speaker 3: he's gonna have to do it.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Well, we're talking abou Adam. Capital of course, is that
- 8:38Speaker 1: it's football for four Adams in his normal Friday spot
- 8:40Speaker 1: here normally. Uh person, we're right, we're all sitting here
- 8:43Speaker 1: and it's been a big conversation. You've got Lane Johnson,
- 8:46Speaker 1: is he going to come back? You've got now Lannon Dickerson.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Is he going to come back? You now know you
- 8:50Speaker 1: need a new offensive line coach, be guys, Jeff Staltlon
- 8:54Speaker 1: is no longer here. You have a new offensive coordinator,
- 8:56Speaker 1: you have a new pass game coordinator.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Is this Sam Jurgens even get back?
- 9:00Speaker 2: Well?
- 9:00Speaker 1: And Cosell said yesterday was riveting that he thought he
- 9:04Speaker 1: was the worst.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Well he talked to someone. I think I see there's
- 9:09Speaker 3: someone in personnel or coach Mike who said the following what.
- 9:13Speaker 2: That he was the worst center in the league last year?
- 9:17Speaker 3: Yes, that's insane. And the guy made the Pro Bowl?
- 9:19Speaker 2: Right, and he made the Pro Bowl.
- 9:20Speaker 1: And he also says something I thought is interesting because
- 9:23Speaker 1: so many people go listen and look at Pro Football Focus.
- 9:26Speaker 1: They're very prominent. Sure and bro bo Fo Focus would
- 9:28Speaker 1: say that the Eagles offensive line.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Was still a top half Greg said.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Past pro they were not run block of a terrible.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Bottom third offensive line. So is you look at what's
- 9:40Speaker 1: going on in the offense and saying times are a
- 9:43Speaker 1: changing in this organization? Like at my point, is this, Adam,
- 9:46Speaker 1: they had our five year run. We won a Super Bowl,
- 9:48Speaker 1: we got to a Super Bowl. We've been very successful.
- 9:50Speaker 1: But those five years are done. We need to evolve well.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Evolving, yes, Mike, but you might have as many as
- 9:59Speaker 3: because I'm including a systant position coach, at least eight
- 10:01Speaker 3: coaching changes on offense, at least by my account, could.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Be more because the half he's now in here is
- 10:06Speaker 1: the run game board it. Yeah, and he's a U
- 10:07Speaker 1: and the tight ends coach, which means Jason Michaels.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Is he's out probably going right, Yeah, yeah, I do
- 10:13Speaker 3: not think he'll be back. I'd be surprised. I'm not
- 10:15Speaker 3: trying to get Jason Mike go out there. Actually, Jack
- 10:17Speaker 3: Stall told me he was the best tight ends coach
- 10:18Speaker 3: he ever had, so the guys are pretty good at coach.
- 10:20Speaker 3: He was in the Colts. You know, Nick knows him.
- 10:24Speaker 3: But I'd be very surprised if your return because you
- 10:26Speaker 3: basically took his job Poort Park Frasier. You know, he
- 10:29Speaker 3: was the passing game coordinator who Nick brought in also
- 10:32Speaker 3: from Indy. So yeah, there's a lot of change. No,
- 10:34Speaker 3: but answer your question. Change is good. And I know
- 10:38Speaker 3: people laugh when I talk about patients. I just don't
- 10:40Speaker 3: know what it's going to look like, right, I know
- 10:41Speaker 3: what the Ost Coast offense looks like.
- 10:43Speaker 2: But is a J.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Brown going to be here? Scott on your questions? Things
- 10:46Speaker 3: are going to change here? Can they get some way
- 10:49Speaker 3: for A J. Brown to just accept the issues with
- 10:54Speaker 3: herts in terms of timing. It's but he said, use me,
- 10:57Speaker 3: but really use me. I know what that meant. I
- 10:58Speaker 3: want the ball in time. What it meant? I mean
- 11:01Speaker 3: I maybe the only person who understood it, because you
- 11:04Speaker 3: have to look what AJ's post look like and what
- 11:06Speaker 3: is it? What the heck does he mean? I get
- 11:08Speaker 3: that I see it a little differently than most people.
- 11:11Speaker 4: Well, I think it's it's crazy with AJ Brown, how
- 11:15Speaker 4: you know? I think the gut reaction is, oh AJ's
- 11:17Speaker 4: rocking the boat. But when you go back and really
- 11:19Speaker 4: look at the things he said, was he wrong?
- 11:21Speaker 2: I know?
- 11:23Speaker 3: But do you have to go on social media? I
- 11:25Speaker 3: agree with you.
- 11:25Speaker 4: And it's about timing and and it's about the and
- 11:27Speaker 4: it's about method right and and and I think, yes,
- 11:30Speaker 4: that's where you can criticize him.
- 11:32Speaker 3: But what he was saying, I think.
- 11:34Speaker 4: We can all look back at and just be you know,
- 11:36Speaker 4: he wasn't wrong, but what's he doing with It's just
- 11:40Speaker 4: not necessary.
- 11:42Speaker 3: And one thing on AJ Brown will move on is
- 11:46Speaker 3: why would you trade him? Because it's never too late.
- 11:48Speaker 3: You know he had the problem with his knees in Tennessee.
- 11:50Speaker 3: I was told that, uh, pretty much, he wouldn't one year.
- 11:54Speaker 3: He didn't practice on Wednesdays, Doctor Chow, you talk with
- 11:57Speaker 3: doctor David Chall. I know you've had him on your show.
- 11:59Speaker 3: He called him football needs. You know his knees are
- 12:02Speaker 3: much older than his age would tell you. And they've
- 12:05Speaker 3: gotten They've done a great job of getting him through
- 12:07Speaker 3: get practices each week. But you don't want to wait.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Like Ashon Jeffery, he was done when he was done.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Like they restructures contract it's one of the few mistakes
- 12:16Speaker 3: how he's made. It han't made a lot on the contracts.
- 12:18Speaker 3: They restructure and extended, and he wound up falling off
- 12:21Speaker 3: the falling off the table. So you don't want to wait.
- 12:23Speaker 3: And then Lane, I didn't say, but thirty five years
- 12:27Speaker 3: old turns thirty six. He said, a number of injuries
- 12:29Speaker 3: Mike and father time catches up to all of us
- 12:32Speaker 3: and if he comes back, this has to be his
- 12:36Speaker 3: last year. Well, that list Frank really took it, really
- 12:39Speaker 3: got I mean, you know the rupture here, the sprain,
- 12:41Speaker 3: but that's a six to eight week deal and it
- 12:43Speaker 3: wound up being over eight and they didn't put him on.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Ir Were you surprised by that? Yes, because we had
- 12:49Speaker 3: Aaron Borgman, former assistant athletic training for the Chiefs and Eagles.
- 12:53Speaker 3: He goes, Guys, I'm just gonna be honest with you.
- 12:55Speaker 3: If he comes back, special boot, he's gonna have to
- 12:59Speaker 3: learn to take steps differently. He goes, it's just to
- 13:02Speaker 3: be very very difficult. Huh.
- 13:03Speaker 1: And he never came back, and he never came back,
- 13:05Speaker 1: and now will he come back. That's something to keep
- 13:07Speaker 1: an eye on. Now you have, potentially, then, Adam, the
- 13:11Speaker 1: domino effect. If you lost Lane and Landon and your
- 13:14Speaker 1: offensive line coach this offseason, that would be it's.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Gotta be crushing. You heard my lot. It's like he
- 13:20Speaker 3: could barely speak. And he did an interview. I forget
- 13:23Speaker 3: who he did it with, but saw some quotes and
- 13:26Speaker 3: you mentioned it Mike Lane, Johnson's only offensive line coach.
- 13:28Speaker 3: That's ridiculous. As much as people beat up Chip Kelly, rightfully,
- 13:31Speaker 3: so he actually had a couple of really good hires,
- 13:34Speaker 3: and Stout was one of them. But it's it's been
- 13:38Speaker 3: a crazy Scott said, it's been a.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Crazy, which is funny. By the way, Adam.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Stout's stories broke when we were on there, go ahead.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Yeah we have been here on radio row.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Right next to us was Gave Bickett from the Dave
- 13:50Speaker 1: Burkatt excuse me, from the Free Free Press. He says, Oh,
- 13:53Speaker 1: I remember stalling in Michigan State like, nothing great.
- 13:56Speaker 2: And then somebody else.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Said, well, he was at the University of Miami when
- 13:58Speaker 1: I was there, He's like, you know, he wasn't like
- 14:00Speaker 1: and then.
- 14:01Speaker 2: There's another guy who was like, he was at it.
- 14:03Speaker 1: He's the guy who bounced around from college to college.
- 14:06Speaker 1: He was at Alabama and then he comes here and
- 14:08Speaker 1: it turns into stoutland you and like, this is the
- 14:10Speaker 1: greatest offensive line coach in the history of the game.
- 14:13Speaker 1: It's amazing how it all kind of came together.
- 14:18Speaker 3: I understand what you're talking about. He was a legend
- 14:21Speaker 3: of at Alabama when he really started to develop players.
- 14:24Speaker 3: But this thing with Stout is uh could be a
- 14:27Speaker 3: mini thirty for thirty. I just I'm stunned that it
- 14:34Speaker 3: went like it went based on what I'd heard the
- 14:35Speaker 3: previous week that he was everyone associated with thought he
- 14:38Speaker 3: was coming back, and they figured out they kind of
- 14:42Speaker 3: came together, and you know obviously what happened. You know,
- 14:44Speaker 3: he he lost some power during the season last year,
- 14:47Speaker 3: which is in October. I was told I know Jeff
- 14:49Speaker 3: mcleim put something out first, but it was in October,
- 14:52Speaker 3: which is crazy. And that's what I say about thirty.
- 14:55Speaker 3: There has to be more than that's out there. Well,
- 14:57Speaker 3: that's really odd, and didn't really tell him. Here's what
- 15:03Speaker 3: I say about that. There's no way you're gonna Nick's
- 15:07Speaker 3: gonna come and hey man, we're stripping in the power
- 15:09Speaker 3: and you're not gonna tell him. Why come on? I
- 15:12Speaker 3: have a hard time believing that he's juice in that building.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Interestingly enough, then right when this whole offensive coordinator search happened,
- 15:20Speaker 1: there was some murmurs that, well, maybe the guy doesn't
- 15:22Speaker 1: want to work with Statin, not not work with them.
- 15:24Speaker 3: But just we put that out two years ago with.
- 15:28Speaker 2: By the way, just got hired by the Rams.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Yeah, that one was because I'm gonna tell you what
- 15:33Speaker 3: I've known it about this. Him and McVeigh are type.
- 15:36Speaker 3: He lives it out and he lives out West yep.
- 15:38Speaker 3: And he had like a standing offer to come if
- 15:41Speaker 3: you want to do if he was staking, he's he
- 15:43Speaker 3: has time left on his contract with Washington.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 15:45Speaker 3: So I kind of knew this was gonna happen if
- 15:46Speaker 3: he didn't coach this here. I I I actually thought
- 15:49Speaker 3: he'd get the Baltimore job. I thought I would have
- 15:51Speaker 3: loved them, say with work with Lamar Jackson. But no,
- 15:55Speaker 3: I think part of it is when you wanna when
- 15:58Speaker 3: you wanna bring in your own guys. It's okay to
- 16:02Speaker 3: bring a couple guys, but you want to clear out
- 16:03Speaker 3: most of a staff, and being how it's just that's
- 16:08Speaker 3: a little bit strong. The coaches I talked around the
- 16:10Speaker 3: league be felt were shocked that he wont to Claire
- 16:11Speaker 3: at the Eagles staff. Most of it this is when
- 16:14Speaker 3: Stout was a little bit Stout had.
- 16:16Speaker 1: More juice then, right, well exactly, But the fact that
- 16:19Speaker 1: now there were some murmurers about this, like two three
- 16:20Speaker 1: weeks ago, They're like, well, these guys they might want
- 16:23Speaker 1: to bring in their own guys. It's like, well, why
- 16:25Speaker 1: if you're a coach you want to get rid of Stotlin,
- 16:27Speaker 1: who's regarded as the best. Why wouldn't you view him
- 16:30Speaker 1: as an asset to what you do?
- 16:33Speaker 2: Well?
- 16:34Speaker 3: No, but they had worked something else. Stout he was
- 16:36Speaker 3: he could come back. Absolutely, they wanted it back, but
- 16:40Speaker 3: he apparently he just didn't. He won comfort with it.
- 16:43Speaker 3: He may have been the week before. I'm not sure.
- 16:45Speaker 3: But they have to move on and this staff is
- 16:47Speaker 3: gonna look different. When I go to trading camps, guys,
- 16:49Speaker 3: it's really funny. I always say, Wow, this is different.
- 16:52Speaker 3: This thing will look like nothing that I've seen in
- 16:54Speaker 3: a while, other than when Nick came first came in here.
- 16:57Speaker 3: But overall, yeah, it's a different scheme. We don't know
- 16:59Speaker 3: who if they j Brown's just guys, listen so much different.
- 17:02Speaker 3: I know the relationship between McVeigh and and King three.
- 17:05Speaker 3: I'm just surprised. But he's not gonna call plays there, No,
- 17:08Speaker 3: he's gonna be He's probably gonna be like a consultant.
- 17:12Speaker 3: And you know, but here's why it's great about it.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Kingsbury runs a completely different offense than McVeigh and McVeigh.
- 17:19Speaker 3: What he does is he's great at changing up. This year,
- 17:22Speaker 3: they ran for a majority for like almost two months
- 17:25Speaker 3: greg O's help put it out to me they ran
- 17:27Speaker 3: more thirty three tenants than anyone.
- 17:29Speaker 2: He never did that.
- 17:29Speaker 3: He never ran three tenants.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Ever.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Let's talk about evolving, Mike, which you mentioned.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Yeah, well, and then the flip side of this, Adam,
- 17:36Speaker 1: before we bring great co cell into our roundtable here
- 17:40Speaker 1: for football at four in the next segment, so stick
- 17:42Speaker 1: around for that. The flip side is, you know, did
- 17:46Speaker 1: Nick kind of have a come to Jesus moment himself
- 17:51Speaker 1: and say, you know what, if we keep going down
- 17:53Speaker 1: the road we've been going, I'm gonna I need to
- 17:55Speaker 1: show that I'm willing to evolve and change and I
- 17:57Speaker 1: might have to make a tough decision, but that's what
- 17:59Speaker 1: we need to do.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Gotta be tough because he you know, he came in
- 18:05Speaker 3: he's so stout, how much of a study So maybe
- 18:07Speaker 3: some things that he wanted to bring in Stout was
- 18:09Speaker 3: not you know, agreeing to and Stout is stout. You
- 18:13Speaker 3: know I've heard from since he's been there as much
- 18:15Speaker 3: as everybody loves him, and he's an unbelievable coach and
- 18:18Speaker 3: he's the secret sauces is player development, which they're going
- 18:20Speaker 3: to miss. And we'll see about whoeverone's are offensive line
- 18:23Speaker 3: what that guy can do. But he also runs a
- 18:26Speaker 3: scheme and he believes what he believes in and you
- 18:30Speaker 3: can't really get him out of it, and that's not easy.
- 18:34Speaker 3: That's just that's part of this thing of the Stout experience.
- 18:39Speaker 3: You love the guy, you just wish, like the prestat
- 18:43Speaker 3: Motion has someone because they ran basic motion in the
- 18:46Speaker 3: last two years. When he finally said okay, someone from
- 18:49Speaker 3: a he used to work for the Eagles told me
- 18:51Speaker 3: they must have a torture him just to do basic motion.
- 18:54Speaker 3: He just doesn't, as explained it, he doesn't like the angles.
- 18:56Speaker 3: He just doesn't. He's not into it. He's not the
- 18:58Speaker 3: only online coach by the way. Scott feels that way.
- 19:00Speaker 3: But it is what it is, and now it's changing. Well,
- 19:02Speaker 3: I was gonna say that we've talked about use the
- 19:04Speaker 3: word evolve. Yeah, I guess if you don't evolve, or
- 19:09Speaker 3: don't choose to evolve, then perhaps changes need to be
- 19:13Speaker 3: made and you're going to find yourself somewhere else. I
- 19:15Speaker 3: think that's what you just said. That my belief strongly
- 19:19Speaker 3: has it had something to do with it. Now I
- 19:22Speaker 3: say that I don't know what had he agree to
- 19:24Speaker 3: whatever role that would be, he maybe do something with
- 19:26Speaker 3: the Eagles organization this next year and the Eagles contract habits,
- 19:31Speaker 3: I mean, he's on a contract, but so he's not
- 19:33Speaker 3: going to the Giants no matter what happens. But because
- 19:36Speaker 3: I know people are talking about that, but overall change,
- 19:40Speaker 3: I think we've all been through it, sometimes reluctantly have
- 19:43Speaker 3: to do it, but you have to change with the times.
- 19:45Speaker 3: And I just can't wait to see what this offense
- 19:47Speaker 3: is going to look like.
