- 0:04Speaker 1: I took a dad class yesterday. Your boy is the
- 0:08Speaker 1: world's all knowing baby right now. Holy smokes, did I
- 0:13Speaker 1: learn a lot. I was so jacked when it was
- 0:16Speaker 1: done because I went and told Koreos, I know everything.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Oh my god, I know everything. There's nothing I can't handle.
- 0:21Speaker 3: I will say this, I'm so excited that you took
- 0:23Speaker 3: the class. Like, what a proactive, wonderful thing to do.
- 0:27Speaker 3: A ton of stuff as a soon to be dad.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Now the one thing that I was worried about is
- 0:33Speaker 3: exactly what has happened. I thought, oh great, he's gonna
- 0:37Speaker 3: take this class and think, now I know everything.
- 0:39Speaker 2: I'm the world's greatest father already and I'm not even
- 0:42Speaker 2: a father.
- 0:42Speaker 4: Okay, why did you need I need to know what
- 0:45Speaker 4: you have learned?
- 0:46Speaker 1: I learned a lot. Now I know nothing about babies
- 0:49Speaker 1: right zero.
- 0:50Speaker 3: And this class was specifically about what, like, just babies
- 0:54Speaker 3: in general, like the first few, the first forty eight, no,
- 0:58Speaker 3: the first like a few weeks after the baby comes out.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Detail for us what it is.
- 1:03Speaker 2: You were trying to learn.
- 1:04Speaker 1: So I took this wonderful class called the New Dad's Playbook,
- 1:08Speaker 1: right and it was cool there the guy who led
- 1:11Speaker 1: it it was just online. The guy who let it
- 1:12Speaker 1: seemed like he cared and really wanted to teach us
- 1:15Speaker 1: some stuff. And there was a bunch of other dudes
- 1:17Speaker 1: in there who were in this class too, so it
- 1:19Speaker 1: was pretty cool.
- 1:20Speaker 2: But basically you learn from the very beginning when Adam
- 1:23Speaker 2: and ipo.
- 1:25Speaker 1: You learn what to expect on the day of, and
- 1:29Speaker 1: like how you can plan to get to the hospital safely,
- 1:32Speaker 1: where do you go when you're in the hospital, what
- 1:34Speaker 1: to do the first forty eight hours after the baby's ride,
- 1:37Speaker 1: things to look out for with mom in weeks months
- 1:40Speaker 1: down the road with postpartum things, things about how babies
- 1:45Speaker 1: need to lay in cribs and what can be in
- 1:48Speaker 1: these cribs and what can't be in these cribs. Basically
- 1:50Speaker 1: give us an basically nothing can be in the crib zero.
- 1:55Speaker 1: So I learned that. They also showed some different holds.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I got different names so I can remember them. It's
- 2:01Speaker 1: one of my learning techniques or whatever. You got that
- 2:04Speaker 1: football hold. Three points of contact, all right, get that
- 2:07Speaker 1: head up, save that neck you got I call it
- 2:09Speaker 1: the sack of sugar, where you like put it over
- 2:11Speaker 1: your shoulder kind of and you hold the head so
- 2:13Speaker 1: you can kind of burp it.
- 2:14Speaker 2: And then there's this.
- 2:15Speaker 1: One where you kind of cradle it in your arms
- 2:18Speaker 1: where the legs hang off the side of your arm
- 2:20Speaker 1: and you have the face basically hand down in your palm.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Sometimes that can help with gas or burping or whatever.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I learn so much. I also learned how to change
- 2:29Speaker 1: a diaper, and I never really thought about this, but
- 2:32Speaker 1: especially if you have a daughter, how you got to
- 2:34Speaker 1: clean them. You gotta go front to back exactly. He
- 2:40Speaker 1: also gave us this tip where you could potentially use
- 2:43Speaker 1: two diapers when you're changing them. Right, So you lay
- 2:46Speaker 1: the baby on the on the changing table right and
- 2:49Speaker 1: you put you know that there's a changing tap, put
- 2:52Speaker 1: the second diaper underneath already, so that way when you
- 2:56Speaker 1: take off clean the baby, they might potentially just go
- 3:00Speaker 1: again right away it happen, so then you already have
- 3:03Speaker 1: a second diaper under there.
- 3:04Speaker 2: That's not a requirement, but it was just a little.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Well, yeah, that is a good tip.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I learned a ton of stuff. I learned about
- 3:12Speaker 1: how no matter what, some parents get lucky and it
- 3:14Speaker 1: might only last a couple of days. For some at
- 3:16Speaker 1: last weeks, but they reach this certain age where they
- 3:22Speaker 1: just cry for you know, whether it's thirty minutes to
- 3:27Speaker 1: six hours or something a stream case. I learned all
- 3:30Speaker 1: of these things. I also learned that if you're frustrated
- 3:33Speaker 1: and for whatever reason, baby can't calm down, it is
- 3:36Speaker 1: okay to leave it in its crib for a tiny bit,
- 3:38Speaker 1: let it cry and just walk away so you can
- 3:40Speaker 1: calm down, so you don't get frustrated. And it's okay
- 3:43Speaker 1: to do that for a few handful of minutes. You
- 3:45Speaker 1: can't you know, you can't do it for four hours
- 3:47Speaker 1: or anything but a handful of I learned everything.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I I'm not the best dad ever.
- 3:53Speaker 3: I love how excited you are. This is bringing me
- 3:56Speaker 3: so much joy. The excitement that you have for becoming
- 4:00Speaker 3: dad warms the cuckles of my heart.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Gabe.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I also learned about one of those things when they
- 4:05Speaker 1: ride in the car, Carci, thank you car. I might
- 4:10Speaker 1: have to re listen to that that point in the
- 4:12Speaker 1: PowerPoint celebrating.
- 4:17Speaker 5: Life's little victories. Every morning we practice gratitude on Big
- 4:22Speaker 5: ninety eight point seven.
- 4:23Speaker 6: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 4:25Speaker 6: basket joke busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 4:29Speaker 5: Share your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 4:32Speaker 5: two and oho one ninety eight seven.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Kids.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I also needed to win that day. Do you have
- 4:38Speaker 2: a little victory for us here today, Angie.
- 4:40Speaker 3: I was literally just complaining about this a couple of
- 4:43Speaker 3: days ago that I loved seeing the snowplows go by,
- 4:47Speaker 3: but I had yet to see Teddy Snowsevelt. And my
- 4:53Speaker 3: boyfriend Mike is a huge history buff and his favorite
- 4:57Speaker 3: president is teddylt And today, on the way to work,
- 5:03Speaker 3: Teddy Roosevelt was going down the twenty fifth right, Yeah,
- 5:08Speaker 3: well I didn't see him Avenue.
- 5:11Speaker 4: Well, I never know the difference.
- 5:13Speaker 2: That's a great que twenty fifth Street, fifth Street.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Yes, okay, so we saw Teddy Snowsvelt, and I really
- 5:19Speaker 3: love the Teddy Roosevelt decal on the side. That's how
- 5:23Speaker 3: we knew that it was Teddy Snow'svelt, and that was
- 5:25Speaker 3: really exciting. So so far, I've seen buzz Ice Clear Wheeler,
- 5:29Speaker 3: the Snowpeeler, Teddy Snowsvelt, and that's it. I think I
- 5:33Speaker 3: still need plow a bung up Betty wide out. It's
- 5:36Speaker 3: like a bingo car.
- 5:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 1: No, I The fact that they put these names on
- 5:40Speaker 1: these snowplows is genius because I will do everything I
- 5:44Speaker 1: can to try to see it. To see It's almost
- 5:46Speaker 1: like the McDonald's Monopoly car. It's like I'm trying to
- 5:50Speaker 1: catch them all kind of Pokemon style here. It's like, oh,
- 5:53Speaker 1: I need to find boardwalk. But I have seen I
- 5:57Speaker 1: saw Teddy Snowsvelt for the first time this past week
- 6:00Speaker 1: weekend shopping with Corey at Costco. We saw, Gosh, how
- 6:03Speaker 1: great and I was like, oh my god, I've seen
- 6:05Speaker 1: Teddy Snowsvelta.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I have not seen him yet.
- 6:08Speaker 1: I have seen buzz ice Clear, which seems to be
- 6:10Speaker 1: kind of popular in our neighborhood. Yeah, I've seen Plowa
- 6:13Speaker 1: Bunga and Teddy Snow's.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Okay, you've seen plow A Bonga and I have not.
- 6:17Speaker 3: This is very exciting. I feel like the snowplows are
- 6:20Speaker 3: local celebrities.
- 6:21Speaker 1: The one hundred percent are what was the other one?
- 6:24Speaker 1: There's one I haven't seen that. Oh, I've seen Wheeler
- 6:27Speaker 1: the snow I have not seen Wheeler at least to
- 6:29Speaker 1: my knowledge. All right, all right, we also do have
- 6:32Speaker 1: to give a big shout out to Sarah her little
- 6:34Speaker 1: victory today. By the way, thank you Sarah for texting
- 6:36Speaker 1: us at seven oh one two eight zero one nine
- 6:38Speaker 1: eight seven. Her little victory for yesterday? Excuse me? Was
- 6:41Speaker 1: she actually completed her to do list? So a way
- 6:44Speaker 1: to go to the Yes.
- 6:47Speaker 3: That's a major victory. I have a to do list
- 6:49Speaker 3: on the whiteboard at my house that only like three
- 6:52Speaker 3: of the seven things are checked up.
- 6:54Speaker 4: I need to get it together.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Well, I have a little victory I've been waiting to
- 6:59Speaker 1: tell you all morning since I saw you, Angie. Yesterday,
- 7:04Speaker 1: my dog got a brand new jacket that I have
- 7:07Speaker 1: been waiting since December fifth to get.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Really, so what was the hold up there?
- 7:15Speaker 1: So for my birthday, I asked, you know, hey, can
- 7:18Speaker 1: I want this kind of dog jacket for Wanona? Right?
- 7:22Speaker 1: So my mom ordered it and I think she ordered
- 7:25Speaker 1: it from the Earth's core. Okay, it took forever to
- 7:29Speaker 1: get here. Okay, So it shows up and I was like, yeah,
- 7:32Speaker 1: this one, get the extra large, YadA, YadA YadA. Well,
- 7:35Speaker 1: I don't know if the sizes don't work the same
- 7:38Speaker 1: where I'm assuming this came from in China. But I
- 7:41Speaker 1: got an XL and this I don't know if it
- 7:43Speaker 1: would have fit over my leg much less my dog.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Oh that was tiny. So it took forever to get
- 7:48Speaker 1: here and didn't fit. And then Corey saw, you know,
- 7:51Speaker 1: she could see it.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I was just sad. I was bombed.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I'd been waiting on this thing for my dog for months,
- 7:57Speaker 1: well over a month. Yeah, And so what did she do?
- 8:00Speaker 1: She was like, well, this one work as she pulled
- 8:02Speaker 1: up amazon As. I'm a thirty five year old man
- 8:04Speaker 1: throwing a mini tantrum and it showed up in the
- 8:07Speaker 1: mail yesterday.
- 8:08Speaker 2: And this thing is perfect.
- 8:10Speaker 1: It is a dog jacket with the harness built inside
- 8:14Speaker 1: so I don't have to put the dog jacket on
- 8:16Speaker 1: and then the harness over the jacket, and I have
- 8:19Speaker 1: my dog looking like an idiot.
- 8:20Speaker 2: While we're on walks.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Do you have a picture of this?
- 8:22Speaker 1: Yes, I've got a Oh do I have a picture?
- 8:25Speaker 1: I've got a billion.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Please post at the very least one to the big
- 8:29Speaker 3: ninety eight point seven Facebook page.
- 8:31Speaker 4: I gotta see this.
- 8:32Speaker 1: I have wanted a dog jacket with a harness built
- 8:35Speaker 1: in since the beginning of my life.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Apparently it is how jacked I was to get this thing.
- 8:40Speaker 1: And of course it's pink and adorable for my sweet Wanona.
- 8:44Speaker 4: I love this.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I was good life.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Cory Corey is a good one.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Well, she might be listening right now, so yeah, you
- 8:50Speaker 2: can call her by her name. That's fine.
- 8:52Speaker 4: Yeah, Cory, you're the best.
- 8:54Speaker 2: I'm so jacket the dogs out.
- 9:02Speaker 1: This story's just so adorable that I wanted to start
- 9:05Speaker 1: your seven o'clock off on just a funny, cute, adorable
- 9:09Speaker 1: story that has a happy ending. Okay, this woman has
- 9:14Speaker 1: a pet parakeet. Now I'm not a bird person, but
- 9:17Speaker 1: to each their own. If a pet parakeet is what
- 9:20Speaker 1: brings you joy in life, I want you to have
- 9:22Speaker 1: that pet parakeet, and I want you to take care
- 9:24Speaker 1: of it like.
- 9:26Speaker 2: It's a baby. Yeah, we're not gonna yuck. You're young, exactly. Now.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Sometimes things happen with pets.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Okay, the gate accidentally gets let open, you know, the
- 9:35Speaker 1: horse gets out and ends up on the golf course.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I've seen stories like that, actually, but this person's parakeet
- 9:42Speaker 1: sadly got out of its house. Funny enough, this parakeet
- 9:48Speaker 1: flew all the way to school and met up with
- 9:52Speaker 1: the owner in their kindergarten class. This pet left home
- 9:57Speaker 1: to reunite with its owner. Is so adorable. And if
- 10:02Speaker 1: you have pets, they do funny cute things all the time.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Sometimes they get out or lost, and it is the
- 10:08Speaker 1: most terrifying thing on earth. Sometimes you find them in
- 10:11Speaker 1: a precarious position. Let me know, did you ever lose
- 10:15Speaker 1: a pet and then obviously you found it? And it
- 10:17Speaker 1: was just kind of funny where you found it. Did
- 10:19Speaker 1: it go down the street to the donut shop? My dog,
- 10:22Speaker 1: if she ever got out and got left, would probably
- 10:25Speaker 1: end up at the McDonald's because she goes through that
- 10:27Speaker 1: drug through a lot.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Oh, that's funny.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Have you ever lost a pet and then they came
- 10:32Speaker 3: back or you found them somewhere weird?
- 10:34Speaker 1: No, we did have a cat that was gone for
- 10:37Speaker 1: like a day and it was just, I'm not even
- 10:39Speaker 1: kidding you, four feet ten four to six feet on
- 10:43Speaker 1: the other side of the fence under our neighbor's deck.
- 10:46Speaker 2: So no, not great.
- 10:47Speaker 1: But there was this one time growing up, we had
- 10:50Speaker 1: this family dog named Lola.
- 10:52Speaker 2: And Lola was she a show girl? I'm sorry, no,
- 10:55Speaker 2: she was if you asked her.
- 10:56Speaker 1: But we were looking all over the hot She was
- 10:59Speaker 1: less year old, maybe eight months old, and we were
- 11:02Speaker 1: looking all over the house for our dog.
- 11:04Speaker 2: You know, we couldn't find her.
- 11:05Speaker 1: And she had a fence in the backyard so it's
- 11:08Speaker 1: not like she could really get out, we'll say, or
- 11:10Speaker 1: she'd have to do some work to get out, I guess.
- 11:12Speaker 1: And we're looking all over the house for our dog,
- 11:14Speaker 1: and we're like, well, what the heck, I mean, it's
- 11:15Speaker 1: not like she went outside.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Where is she?
- 11:17Speaker 1: And I come from downstairs looking for our dog to upstairs,
- 11:20Speaker 1: and here is our sweet Lola laying on the couch.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Now, Lola didn't go on the couch at our house.
- 11:27Speaker 1: She just a was never really interested, and she had
- 11:30Speaker 1: black and white fur so it stuck out like a
- 11:33Speaker 1: sore thumb on this couch, so she was kind of
- 11:35Speaker 1: a not couch dog. I come upstairs, I'm looking for
- 11:38Speaker 1: our dog. All of a sudden, where do I find
- 11:40Speaker 1: our sweet Lola on the couch. And she instantly sits
- 11:44Speaker 1: up like, oh no, I just got caught, And so
- 11:48Speaker 1: I calmly got her off the couch, told the whole
- 11:51Speaker 1: house to stop worrying. I found her, And to this
- 11:54Speaker 1: day I have never told my family where and what
- 11:57Speaker 1: Lola was doing until unless you know me, Mom or
- 12:00Speaker 1: Dad is listening right now here on Big ninety eight
- 12:02Speaker 1: point seven, So big Revelationola, I kept that secret for
- 12:06Speaker 1: the entirety of your life, and you know, sadly Lola's
- 12:10Speaker 1: not around anymore, so I think it's free to tell
- 12:11Speaker 1: the story.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one, nine eight seven.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Where did you find a lost pet? Lily?
- 12:19Speaker 4: My bearded dragon was gone for three days.
- 12:21Speaker 6: I found him inside a boot.
- 12:23Speaker 3: I hadn't born in months, and I don't know how
- 12:26Speaker 3: he survived.
- 12:27Speaker 6: I also just don't want to know.
- 12:29Speaker 2: That's insane.
- 12:31Speaker 3: That's one of my biggest fears is finding critters in
- 12:33Speaker 3: my shoes.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I wouldn't love that either, James, what about you, dude?
- 12:37Speaker 6: My dog got out of my yard a couple of
- 12:39Speaker 6: years ago and he was gone for almost like two hours.
- 12:42Speaker 6: I looked everywhere for him and no luck. But when
- 12:45Speaker 6: I got home there he was sitting on the front porch.
- 12:50Speaker 3: So you checked everywhere, but there just had like an
- 12:54Speaker 3: adventure and I was like, I'm ready to come home now.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that is probably what happened. Seven oh one
- 12:59Speaker 1: two eight zero one nine eight seven. When you lose
- 13:01Speaker 1: a pet, it can be the most nerve wracking thing ever,
- 13:03Speaker 1: and normally you don't care where they're at. When you
- 13:05Speaker 1: find him, you're just glad you found him. Yeah, but
- 13:07Speaker 1: if you've ever found your horse on the golf course,
- 13:09Speaker 1: or maybe little little Fred at the Krispy Kreme donut.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Shop, let us know about it. This morning. On Big
- 13:15Speaker 2: ninety eight point seven, this is am I the problem.
- 13:21Speaker 2: It's me hill On the problem.
- 13:24Speaker 3: It's me.
- 13:25Speaker 2: We'll hear one side of the story and with your help.
- 13:30Speaker 5: Decide if it's right or if maybe you're the problem.
- 13:34Speaker 4: That's right, I am a problem.
- 13:36Speaker 2: On Big ninety eight point seven.
- 13:38Speaker 3: We had Tanner right into us and he is on
- 13:41Speaker 3: his wife's side, but he does also want to know
- 13:46Speaker 3: if maybe his wife is in the wrong.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Okay, hey, this one real simple man.
- 13:51Speaker 2: A few words. Hey, it's Tanner.
- 13:53Speaker 3: My wife was asked to be in a wedding party
- 13:55Speaker 3: and she accepted, but after the engagement party and bachelorette party,
- 13:59Speaker 3: we realized just how much it's going to cost us
- 14:01Speaker 3: when all is said and done, my wife backed out
- 14:04Speaker 3: and the bride took it well in the moment, but
- 14:06Speaker 3: she's been cold and distant with my wife ever since.
- 14:09Speaker 3: I think you can't expect people to go into debt
- 14:11Speaker 3: just because you're getting married. Do you think the bride
- 14:13Speaker 3: needs to get over it? Okay, and oh man, no, Gabe,
- 14:20Speaker 3: what do you think?
- 14:21Speaker 1: This is a wonderful case of what do I say?
- 14:25Speaker 1: Both and both? And this is a both, And I
- 14:27Speaker 1: think it's totally fine to be like, you know what,
- 14:29Speaker 1: I thought I could do this, I can't. I'm really sorry. Yeah,
- 14:32Speaker 1: that's fine. Your friends should not want you to go
- 14:35Speaker 1: into debt if something is financially tough for you to
- 14:38Speaker 1: do at that point in time. But to mister Tanner
- 14:41Speaker 1: and his wife, Bride's got all the right in the
- 14:44Speaker 1: world to be disappointed and sad and maybe just kind
- 14:46Speaker 1: of not talking to you right now. She totally is
- 14:48Speaker 1: in the right to be bummed. And I don't know,
- 14:52Speaker 1: feel a way about it. That doesn't mean she's gonna
- 14:54Speaker 1: hate you forever, or that doesn't even mean she doesn't
- 14:56Speaker 1: like you, but maybe she's like, Okay, fine, I'm just
- 14:59Speaker 1: gonna avoid you for a little bit until I kind
- 15:02Speaker 1: of get over this.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Yeah. I get that it's a both.
- 15:04Speaker 3: And I feel, however, that I'm more annoyed with Tanner
- 15:10Speaker 3: and his wife because I feel like.
- 15:13Speaker 4: You should have run the numbers before.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Yeah, you got to do all the fun part.
- 15:19Speaker 4: You got to do all the thumb part.
- 15:20Speaker 3: And the other thing is the wedding, the engagement party,
- 15:23Speaker 3: and the bachelorette party.
- 15:24Speaker 4: She's in the wedding party at this point.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Maybe it's a situation with the bride where it's like, okay,
- 15:32Speaker 3: well we're so far into this process. Now you back out,
- 15:36Speaker 3: Then like what what if bridesmaids dresses were already purchased
- 15:41Speaker 3: and stuff, and like filling that spot because if you have,
- 15:45Speaker 3: I'm going as though it's traditional where it's like groomsmen
- 15:48Speaker 3: on one side, bridesmaids on the other. If she backs out,
- 15:51Speaker 3: then now who's gonna walk with that groomsman?
- 15:54Speaker 1: And then ask that's really crazy, Angie. Just some dude goes, hey,
- 15:57Speaker 1: I actually don't need you to stand up there. He's
- 15:59Speaker 1: not gonna care. They can make that, they can make
- 16:01Speaker 1: it symmetrical pretty easily.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Well, I just think that that's annoying. And then asking
- 16:05Speaker 4: someone else to fill in.
- 16:06Speaker 3: The spot is difficult because it's like, well, now they
- 16:10Speaker 3: don't have as much time as they would to get
- 16:13Speaker 3: a bride'smaid's dress and that can take a long time.
- 16:16Speaker 4: And then also, well, why are you asking me so
- 16:18Speaker 4: last minute?
- 16:18Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 16:19Speaker 3: I feel like that they really put the bride in
- 16:22Speaker 3: a bad spot, and if she would have just backed
- 16:24Speaker 3: out from Jump and said, listen, thinking about it, I
- 16:28Speaker 3: think it'll probably be too expensive, so I'm gonna back out,
- 16:31Speaker 3: like from the beginning, that would have been better my sister,
- 16:34Speaker 3: whenever it is that I get married again, my sister
- 16:37Speaker 3: who I love and would obviously want her to be
- 16:39Speaker 3: my maid of honor. She said to me, Okay, I
- 16:41Speaker 3: want you to know that I'm really bad at planning
- 16:43Speaker 3: things and I'm broke most of the time, so if
- 16:47Speaker 3: you need me to be a maid of honor and
- 16:49Speaker 3: that I'm doing all the things I cannot And I
- 16:51Speaker 3: was like, that's fair, and she told me from jump.
- 16:53Speaker 1: A lot of this depends on time too, like how
- 16:56Speaker 1: much time is there until the wedding to kind and
- 16:58Speaker 1: also this be a scenario maybe it was exciting and
- 17:02Speaker 1: the bride was like, yeah, here's my guess on the cost,
- 17:04Speaker 1: and the cost shot way up and they weren't expecting
- 17:07Speaker 1: that that also could have happened.
- 17:09Speaker 4: What are your thoughts?
- 17:09Speaker 3: Seven oh one two eight oho one nine eight seven
- 17:12Speaker 3: is the bride being bratty by being cold to this
- 17:15Speaker 3: woman who backed out of being in the wedding party?
- 17:23Speaker 3: Banner wants to know if his wife is the problem.
- 17:26Speaker 3: A girlfriend of hers asked her to be in the
- 17:29Speaker 3: wedding party. She said yes, but after the engagement party
- 17:33Speaker 3: and the bachelorette party, she realized, ooh, too expensive, so
- 17:36Speaker 3: she backed out. And the bride was cool with it
- 17:38Speaker 3: when she said so, but has been acting cold and
- 17:41Speaker 3: distant ever since. He wants to know if his wife
- 17:44Speaker 3: was the problem for backing out, or if the bride
- 17:46Speaker 3: should just get over it. We also had this on
- 17:49Speaker 3: our Facebook page. Laura said, not the problem. It's expensive
- 17:54Speaker 3: to be in weddings. Maybe a conversation earlier so the
- 17:58Speaker 3: bride could think of more budget friendly options, or possibly
- 18:01Speaker 3: your wife could have said I will support you fully
- 18:03Speaker 3: on the day, but I'm not financially in a place
- 18:06Speaker 3: to attend other events.
- 18:08Speaker 2: I think that's that's actually a pretty good idea.
- 18:10Speaker 4: I think that's the correct way.
- 18:11Speaker 2: I can't go to the parties, but I'll stand there
- 18:13Speaker 2: with you. Yeah.
- 18:14Speaker 4: I like that.
- 18:15Speaker 1: I like this is from Emma. This is actually interesting.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Backing out after parties started is kind of a big deal.
- 18:24Speaker 1: That's embarrassing for the bride. That is kind of interesting. Oh, hey,
- 18:28Speaker 1: you went to all these fun, cool, exciting, you know,
- 18:31Speaker 1: hopefully whatever things. Yeah, and now you can't do this?
- 18:35Speaker 1: That is that is interesting.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Listen, if I'm the bride, maybe I am mad at
- 18:40Speaker 3: that I do like this, because so rarely do we
- 18:44Speaker 3: get this as an answer. Julia said, I don't think
- 18:49Speaker 3: anyone is the problem. Wow, it's totally fair and valid
- 18:53Speaker 3: for the bride to be upset. She doesn't have to
- 18:55Speaker 3: get over it if she's feeling hurt, but probably doesn't
- 18:58Speaker 3: want to make it a big deal for you, your wife,
- 19:00Speaker 3: so she's taking time to be in her feelings. Your
- 19:03Speaker 3: wife is also totally valid in saying no, because being
- 19:06Speaker 3: in a wedding party is a big financial commitment and
- 19:09Speaker 3: is not always feasible for people. So your wife did
- 19:12Speaker 3: the right thing by backing out. Julia, what a well
- 19:16Speaker 3: articulated thought. And I don't think we've ever had someone
- 19:20Speaker 3: say no, one is the problem.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Well, then Emma comes in with a hammer here.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Emma said, the bride has every right to feel hurt,
- 19:29Speaker 1: even if she's trying to be polite. Okay, then this
- 19:32Speaker 1: is kind of interesting. You know, I feel it's a
- 19:35Speaker 1: both and situation. We do run into those from time
- 19:37Speaker 1: to time with am I the problem? And I think
- 19:39Speaker 1: collectively we could agree Bride in the right to feel sad,
- 19:44Speaker 1: Tanner's wife in the right to back out.
- 19:46Speaker 3: So I'm gonna say, Julia ask as a sentiment that is,
- 19:51Speaker 3: I think they're both the problem.
- 19:58Speaker 4: I'm upset this.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Morning, and she's having a rough go, especially the last
- 20:02Speaker 1: fifteen or so minutes here.
- 20:04Speaker 3: So Brooklyn Beckham went on this entire rant about how
- 20:09Speaker 3: his mom and dad are terrible, but specifically to his wife,
- 20:13Speaker 3: his wife, Nicola Pelts. So Nicola Pelt, safe to say,
- 20:16Speaker 3: considers Victoria Beckham a terrible mother in law. And we'll
- 20:21Speaker 3: get into some of that in the tea. But I
- 20:24Speaker 3: posted on the Big ninety eight point seven Facebook page
- 20:27Speaker 3: this is a safe space share your mother and law
- 20:30Speaker 3: horror stories, because I have a few mother in law
- 20:34Speaker 3: horror stories of my own, and I thought it would
- 20:37Speaker 3: be such a nice bonding experience.
- 20:40Speaker 4: But I learned two things.
- 20:42Speaker 3: People don't follow directions, and apparently everyone had a better
- 20:46Speaker 3: mother in law.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Than I did. My mother in laws are wonderful. They're
- 20:50Speaker 1: super sweet to me.
- 20:51Speaker 3: And then okay, exactly, and then so you didn't comment
- 20:55Speaker 3: on this post asking for mother and law horror stories
- 20:58Speaker 3: because you don't have one to share, because if you
- 21:01Speaker 3: love your mother in.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Law, I would have just had to share it with
- 21:03Speaker 2: you right here as part of the job.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Well, I have seen so many comments of oh, I
- 21:10Speaker 3: have the best mother in law. I have no complaints
- 21:12Speaker 3: about my mother in law. She's the best. All these
- 21:15Speaker 3: positive things about.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Mother in law.
- 21:19Speaker 4: And when I tell you, then this post wasn't for you.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Angie wanted someone to join her in the mother in
- 21:28Speaker 1: law horror story business.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Yes, I wanted to commiserate, But here everybody is.
- 21:34Speaker 2: With the most company, Angie.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Here everyone is with a delightful mother in law, and
- 21:39Speaker 3: I just do not have that experience.
- 21:42Speaker 2: We're cool now.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Important to note that my ex and I are no
- 21:45Speaker 3: longer together and she and I are cool now.
- 21:48Speaker 4: So the issue was that we were together. That's what
- 21:51Speaker 4: she didn't like.
- 21:52Speaker 3: And she once wrote my husband a letter asking him
- 21:57Speaker 3: to leave me.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that'd be rough.
- 22:01Speaker 3: She really took the time, and it was a handwritten letter,
- 22:04Speaker 3: like took out a sheet of paper, grabbed her best
- 22:08Speaker 3: pen and.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Wrote with a quill. Did she dip it in the ink?
- 22:11Speaker 4: Yes?
- 22:12Speaker 3: And it was in calligraphy, and she wrote a two
- 22:16Speaker 3: page letter front and back detailing why he should leave me.
- 22:21Speaker 3: So that's my mother in law horror story. Meanwhile, everybody
- 22:25Speaker 3: else has the best mother in law.
- 22:27Speaker 4: The history of America, and I didn't need to know that.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Yeah, Angie feels alone. But you know what, Angie, I'm
- 22:32Speaker 1: going to find someone to accompany you on this mother
- 22:35Speaker 1: in law horror story journey that you would hope to
- 22:38Speaker 1: go down. Yeah, there is someone who said there isn't
- 22:40Speaker 1: enough time or space to write all the things she
- 22:42Speaker 1: has done. So on a happy note, I haven't saw
- 22:44Speaker 1: her spoken to her in five years. In life is
- 22:46Speaker 1: so much easier and less toxic. So there is one
- 22:49Speaker 1: person with you.
- 22:50Speaker 4: Okay, thank you. What is her name?
- 22:53Speaker 1: I don't know if I want to share that, but
- 22:54Speaker 1: you But you can go to Big nine boy It
- 22:56Speaker 1: on Facebook and check it out for yourself.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Let's be friend. There might be a hug waiting for you.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Happy National Hugging Day.
- 23:09Speaker 1: This is a day that occurs on January twenty first
- 23:12Speaker 1: and is officially recognized by the United States Copyright Office.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Obviously, this is not a public holiday.
- 23:18Speaker 1: If you get work off because of National Hugging Day,
- 23:21Speaker 1: sign me up. The purpose of the day is to
- 23:24Speaker 1: help everyone show more emotion in public. The only way
- 23:27Speaker 1: to celebrate the day is by offering a hug.
- 23:29Speaker 2: To anyone in everyone you want.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Now, there are a lot of benefits to hugging if
- 23:33Speaker 1: you didn't know this right, Hugs provide major benefits by
- 23:36Speaker 1: releasing is it oxytocin yes, reducing stress hormones like cortisol,
- 23:45Speaker 1: lowering blood pressure, boosting immunity, and improving mood by increasing
- 23:48Speaker 1: dopamine and serotonin. I have a wife who I love
- 23:52Speaker 1: more than anything on earth. Her name is Corey. When
- 23:54Speaker 1: Corey gets home, I always hug her for ten seconds
- 23:57Speaker 1: and she is over it in about two. So Corey's
- 24:01Speaker 1: getting a big ten second or today.
- 24:03Speaker 2: I love this.
- 24:04Speaker 3: I admittedly there are people who don't like to be
- 24:07Speaker 3: touched and hugging is not their jams, so maybe this
- 24:09Speaker 3: day is.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Not for them.
- 24:11Speaker 4: But I love hugs for all of those reasons.
- 24:15Speaker 3: And I also heard from a TikTok therapist I don't
- 24:19Speaker 3: know if they're actually my song definitely really yeah, but
- 24:23Speaker 3: that it's important to have eight hugs a day minimum.
- 24:28Speaker 3: And so it was my New Year's resolution in twenty
- 24:31Speaker 3: twenty four to give my children eight hugs a day
- 24:35Speaker 3: and I have never once missed that really.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:39Speaker 3: The only time obviously is if like we're literally not
- 24:41Speaker 3: in the same state.
- 24:42Speaker 7: Right, But other than that, that'd be tough, that'd be yeah,
- 24:45Speaker 7: other than that, eight hugs a day, and today we
- 24:48Speaker 7: will have an extra special long hug and they will
- 24:51Speaker 7: be so annoyed, but I gotta do it because it's
- 24:55Speaker 7: a National Hug Day.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that is wonderful. And there have we ever hugged Gabe?
- 25:00Speaker 2: You know, I don't know. I don't think.
- 25:02Speaker 1: So we leave them the old like maybe down hug,
- 25:07Speaker 1: but never just a nice, full on hug.
- 25:10Speaker 4: Well, because hr is a thing, let's not start today.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll pass all right on the way. We've got
- 25:16Speaker 1: Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. You know what, give someone
- 25:19Speaker 1: a hug today. That is a challenge from me to
- 25:21Speaker 1: you here on Big ninety eight point seven. You know
- 25:23Speaker 1: who I'm gonna hug today and I'm looking at him
- 25:24Speaker 1: right through the glass air in the studio.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Dave Dave and Moose on the Fox. I'm gonna give
- 25:30Speaker 2: them both a hug because they have no clue what
- 25:32Speaker 2: today is. And see how freaked out they get. That's
- 25:35Speaker 2: my plan.
- 25:38Speaker 4: I need some good.
- 25:41Speaker 5: Starting off the day with something good. This is Gabe's
- 25:45Speaker 5: good news on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 25:49Speaker 1: A Minnesota veteran recently celebrated his ninetieth birthday by parasailing
- 25:55Speaker 1: off the Florida coast alongside his doctor and granddaughter, Doctor
- 26:01Speaker 1: Uncle Earl.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Is that you know?
- 26:03Speaker 1: Doctor Amy hild Phillips had promised a decade ago to
- 26:08Speaker 1: join Arnold Sonny Locke in for the milestone, after he
- 26:12Speaker 1: had previously parasailed for his eightieth birthday in Clearwater and
- 26:17Speaker 1: earlier in Hawaii.
- 26:18Speaker 2: This is just a parasailing goat.
- 26:21Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 26:21Speaker 1: The trio traveled from Minnesota to southwest Florida, where they
- 26:25Speaker 1: parasailed and it took them into the Gulf and launched
- 26:28Speaker 1: them high above the water lock in. A US Navy
- 26:31Speaker 1: veteran says the experience was smooth and enjoyable, and his
- 26:35Speaker 1: family welcomed him back to the beach with applause and photos.
- 26:39Speaker 1: I'll tell you what, right now, I don't want to
- 26:41Speaker 1: go parasailing ever. This guy there's a fight exactly. This
- 26:45Speaker 1: guy doing it at ninety years old. Absolute goat and
- 26:50Speaker 1: a set of gumption that I would just say.
- 26:52Speaker 4: Yeah, that's incredible.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Good on him, Congratulations to him and happieth Happy ninetieth
- 26:58Speaker 1: birthday to Arnold.
- 27:00Speaker 2: The world is full of nice people. If you can't
- 27:02Speaker 2: find one, you gotta be
