- 2:35Dayna Roselli: Welcome everyone to Vegas Revealed, episode 98.
- 2:39Dayna Roselli: Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister here as we're rolling right through December approaching 2022.
- 2:47Sean McAllister: I know, and you know, there there's no better way to end the year than with a good boot scootin' boogie.
- 2:53Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 2:54Sean McAllister: And that's what we did just the other night.
- 2:56Sean McAllister: Uh went over to see Reba and Brooks and Dunn at the Coliseum over at Caesars Palace.
- 3:00Dayna Roselli: I know, we had great seats, I'm not gonna lie, and it was fun to see these guys up close.
- 3:05Dayna Roselli: And just you and I were chatting about just how flawless the whole show is.
- 3:09Dayna Roselli: These guys have been doing it forever, they are country legends, and what a pleasure to see them perform, enjoy what they do, and not like work too hard.
- 3:19Dayna Roselli: They don't like force it, you know?
- 3:21Sean McAllister: No, it's not forced at all.
- 3:23Sean McAllister: And you know, Reba and and Brooks and Dunn, they have toured together for decades.
- 3:29Sean McAllister: I mean, going back, I think it was in the at some point in the early 90s when they started touring together.
- 3:36Sean McAllister: And they have just been great buddies ever since, and they love doing shows together, and you can really tell that they that there is an affection among them when they're up on stage together.
- 3:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, you can tell they've known each other a long time.
- 3:50Dayna Roselli: You're right.
- 3:51Dayna Roselli: And we were at the Coliseum while like the National Finals rodeo is going on too, so like the whole Coliseum was just, you know, I just felt like they were real true fans.
- 4:01Dayna Roselli: Oh, there were cowboy hats, there were rhinestones, there were cowboy boots galore, and uh the neon moon and boot scootin' boogie and Reba singing fancy, it just the whole thing was great.
- 4:12Dayna Roselli: If you want to check out her outfit changes, because I was super impressed at like the rhinestones and the country glam.
- 4:19Dayna Roselli: I put it on uh my reels on Instagram and also the Vegas revealed TikTok and Twitter.
- 4:25Dayna Roselli: You'll find the outfit changes.
- 4:27Dayna Roselli: Someone got mad at me and said, Don't post that.
- 4:28Dayna Roselli: I haven't seen the show yet.
- 4:30Dayna Roselli: You're revealing everything.
- 4:31Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, ah, they've got two more shows.
- 4:33Dayna Roselli: If you haven't been yet, then it's the end of the run.
- 4:37Sean McAllister: We we were there for uh the 100th performance of uh Reba and Brooks and Dunn's Las Vegas residency.
- 4:46Sean McAllister: Um by the time this comes out, they'll be ending their residency.
- 4:50Sean McAllister: So Reba, Brooks and Dunn won't have a show in Vegas anymore.
- 4:53Dayna Roselli: It was a great show.
- 4:54Dayna Roselli: We had a blast.
- 4:55Dayna Roselli: We were looking around the Coliseum, though, and we were thinking, okay, Adele is gonna perform here.
- 5:00Dayna Roselli: We talked about it last week, huge announcement, and this week it's all about who's gonna get the tickets.
- 5:06Sean McAllister: So I signed up.
- 5:08Sean McAllister: Uh we talked about how Ticketmaster was doing this verified fan situation in order to even qualify to buy tickets.
- 5:18Sean McAllister: And I got a uh an email back that verified me as a fan, but it essentially told me that I was on the wait list for the wait list.
- 5:29Sean McAllister: Oh they were like, You you're not good enough to make the first wait list.
- 5:33Sean McAllister: You need to wait, and if people drop out, then maybe you get a crack at it.
- 5:39Dayna Roselli: Right, and I even saw an Insta story, our friend Amanda that works at Live Nation said, I don't have Adele tickets, stop asking me.
- 5:47Dayna Roselli: And it's like, just give it up.
- 5:49Dayna Roselli: These are in high demand.
- 5:51Sean McAllister: Well, speaking of that, how many people reached out to you about Adele?
- 5:55Sean McAllister: Because I know I got a lot of messages of people saying, Oh, do you what what do you know about these Adele tickets?
- 6:01Dayna Roselli: See, and what I'm getting is like, there's no way I'll be able to afford it, or I have the patience to try and get one.
- 6:07Dayna Roselli: I would have loved to go, it's on my bucket list, but a lot of people I know are just like, I'm not even gonna bother trying.
- 6:13Dayna Roselli: I know like it's not gonna happen.
- 6:15Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 6:17Sean McAllister: And even if you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to buy tickets, there's a good chance that you can't even afford it.
- 6:26Dayna Roselli: I mean, the prices, and it's really hard because it's like I don't wanna like you see people say things and you're like, well, where did they see that and is it the truth?
- 6:33Dayna Roselli: So, you know, we're careful to say, like, I haven't seen the prices myself in front of the page, sitting on Ticketmaster.
- 6:41Sean McAllister: Because we're not qualified to look at them.
- 6:43unknown: Right.
- 6:43Dayna Roselli: But I have seen screenshots, and there's some people I trust on Facebook and stuff that have been in the the Vegas world for a long time that have have gotten in there, and we were looking at some of the prices, and they are true to what I have heard.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: I mean, some of these prices are$10,000,$17,000.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: There is a front row section, section$104, right in front of the stage at$23,173 for two tickets.
- 7:13Dayna Roselli: So, yeah.
- 7:14Sean McAllister: You could buy two smart cars for that.
- 7:18Dayna Roselli: Two smart cars.
- 7:19Dayna Roselli: Two smart cars and a partridge and a pear tree.
- 7:23Sean McAllister: We could have two Vegas revealed smart cars rolling around the streets of Las Vegas.
- 7:28Sean McAllister: With tinted windows.
- 7:29Sean McAllister: With tinted windows, all pimped out.
- 7:33Sean McAllister: Or we could go see Adele.
- 7:34Sean McAllister: Oh my god.
- 7:35Sean McAllister: We could get one seat to Adele.
- 7:36Dayna Roselli: Listen, I'm the type of like, I don't need to see her that bad.
- 7:39Dayna Roselli: I'm good.
- 7:39Dayna Roselli: Thanks.
- 7:40Sean McAllister: I'll roll down the strip in my smart car with Adele blasting, and that'll be good for me.
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: Here's the funny thing.
- 7:47Dayna Roselli: People will spend$10,000 on tickets, and you know what they'll do?
- 7:50Dayna Roselli: They'll have their phone up the whole time recording it.
- 7:52Dayna Roselli: That's true.
- 7:52Dayna Roselli: And they won't even watch it.
- 7:54Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 7:55Dayna Roselli: Oh, anyway.
- 7:55Dayna Roselli: Listen, whoever can afford it, whoever wants to treat themselves, good for you.
- 8:00Dayna Roselli: Uh congratulations.
- 8:02Dayna Roselli: I hope everyone that wants to go will get the chance.
- 8:05Dayna Roselli: Um, they're trying to do it the right way.
- 8:07Dayna Roselli: And Sean, you pointed out before we started the podcast that there is that demand system on Ticketmaster where sometimes you'll log on, and if it isn't high demand at the moment, the prices go up.
- 8:18Dayna Roselli: Surge pricing, right?
- 8:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 8:19Sean McAllister: So I mean, maybe uh I'm curious what the base level ticket price is without the Ticketmaster surge pricing added in.
- 8:31Dayna Roselli: I don't think we know.
- 8:32Dayna Roselli: We don't know.
- 8:32Sean McAllister: And there is such incredible global demand for these tickets.
- 8:36Sean McAllister: We may never know.
- 8:38Sean McAllister: But another thing that I wanted to point out, Dana, about the Adele concerts is that these are these shows are going to have the most uh strict COVID uh protocols uh that we've seen in Las Vegas.
- 8:53Sean McAllister: Not only do you have to be fully vaccinated in order to attend the shows, you also need to provide proof of a negative test in addition to your vaccine status.
- 9:08Sean McAllister: So what I'm wondering is if there's the possibility that some, you know, very late uh, you know, same-day tickets might become available if people d fail uh a COVID test.
- 9:24Dayna Roselli: Sean, are you wishing someone test positive for COVID and that you can wait outside of the Coliseum on the steps?
- 9:30Sean McAllister: I am not wishing it on anybody, but I am just throwing it out there that it's a possibility that tickets may become available for that reason.
- 9:41Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 9:41Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 9:42Dayna Roselli: You're right though.
- 9:43Dayna Roselli: I mean, it could be, you know, but those are gonna be in high demand too.
- 9:46Sean McAllister: Crap.
- 9:47Sean McAllister: How much are those gonna be?
- 9:48Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 9:49Dayna Roselli: Oh I don't know.
- 9:50Dayna Roselli: Listen, um, you know, hopefully it's the beginning of something that she'll continue to do.
- 9:55Dayna Roselli: Keep that in mind.
- 9:56Dayna Roselli: Once something starts and it goes really well in Vegas, usually they'll be back.
- 10:00Dayna Roselli: And maybe as shows go on and on, it's either gonna do one thing or the other, and it's gonna be everyone loves it so much because they're gonna see all the little social media posts and people say it was the best experience of my life and they're gonna want to go more.
- 10:12Dayna Roselli: Or, you know, it's a big huge rush at the beginning, and then maybe there'll be better chances later.
- 10:17Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 10:18Sean McAllister: Well, and she's apparently Adele is uh reportedly making a million bucks per show.
- 10:24Sean McAllister: So th she's doing weekends, so two million bucks per weekend, that could be a very nice incentive to keep these shows going.
- 10:33Dayna Roselli: Well, I mean a million bucks I mean a million bucks she's making is like section 106 at the Coliseum, right?
- 10:39Dayna Roselli: All the tickets.
- 10:40Dayna Roselli: That's pretty much like one section of tickets.
- 10:44Dayna Roselli: That's so true.
- 10:45Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, then all the merchandise and the I mean, there's a lot.
- 10:49Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 10:49Dayna Roselli: Anyway, uh well, listen.
- 10:52Dayna Roselli: As I said at the beginning of the show, she's probably thinking, everyone, just go easy on me.
- 10:58Sean McAllister: If you get tickets, let us know how the show is.
- 11:01Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 11:02Dayna Roselli: Um, a couple other big shows announced this week, actually.
- 11:05Dayna Roselli: What was it, Monday?
- 11:06Dayna Roselli: We were like, boom, but we were like, holy cow, I woke up.
- 11:09Dayna Roselli: 7 a.m.
- 11:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, 7 a.m.
- 11:10Sean McAllister: Monday.
- 11:11Sean McAllister: It's like, man, the week has begun.
- 11:13Dayna Roselli: John Legend coming to Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood with a residency.
- 11:18Sean McAllister: And then it's gonna be a baby-making show.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: It will be what is it called?
- 11:21Dayna Roselli: Love in Las Vegas.
- 11:22Sean McAllister: Love in Las Vegas.
- 11:23Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, that's gonna be his first residency.
- 11:26Dayna Roselli: He's done a couple shows here.
- 11:27Dayna Roselli: He actually recently did one at the Cosmopolitan, I think.
- 11:30Dayna Roselli: I saw him at the One Night for OneDrop uh fundraiser that Cirque de Soleil puts on years back.
- 11:37Dayna Roselli: It was mostly a performance at the piano.
- 11:39Dayna Roselli: It was great, but I'm looking forward to seeing him because I saw his little trailer.
- 11:43Dayna Roselli: It looks a little, you know, a little spicy.
- 11:45Sean McAllister: Oh, he uh it's like a a movie, like a theatrical movie trailer for his residency.
- 11:53Sean McAllister: And it's very, it's very sexy and very it's gonna be good.
- 11:59Dayna Roselli: It is gonna be good.
- 12:00Sean McAllister: I mean, it's John Legend.
- 12:01Sean McAllister: You can't go wrong with him.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: And then we've got Michael Bublet who announced he's coming to Resorts World.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: So what it's interesting is, you know, and we we're still we all say we're gonna stop calling them residencies, but we still call them residencies because nobody's thought of another name yet.
- 12:17Sean McAllister: And when we say residencies Bublet is more of a limited engagement.
- 12:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I would say limited engagement, right?
- 12:22Dayna Roselli: Because he's doing like six shows.
- 12:24Dayna Roselli: I think it's like April and May.
- 12:25Dayna Roselli: So that's gonna be great.
- 12:27Dayna Roselli: Um, but I like that it's uh new people who haven't had that show.
- 12:32Dayna Roselli: They've just done the one-offs.
- 12:33Sean McAllister: Right.
- 12:34Dayna Roselli: And now they're gonna have a bunch.
- 12:35Dayna Roselli: So I like seeing, you know, John Legend, Michael Bublet, like new names coming in.
- 12:39Dayna Roselli: Um adds to all the freshness that we've had, you know, going on with you know, since we reopened and been trying to kind of keep things pumping here in Las Vegas.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: So Michael Bublet will be at Resorts World, John Legend at Planet Hollywood.
- 12:52Sean McAllister: That'll be a good spot for John Legend.
- 12:54Sean McAllister: He's gonna pack that theater for sure.
- 12:56Sean McAllister: Uh David Lee Roth, the iconic rocker, uh has had shows on the book over at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, um, uh which it's kind of funny because uh didn't he retire, Dana?
- 13:09Sean McAllister: David Lee Roth retired.
- 13:11Sean McAllister: Well, apparently, yeah.
- 13:12Dayna Roselli: And so he kind of jokes around himself, like so far, no good.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: When I get out, they drag me back in.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: Look, I'm vulnerable, I feel sensitive.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: If I sound that way too, I'm in the middle of my first retirement, and I'm gonna extend my world goodbye tour of Las Vegas at the House of Blues for two more weekends, just like you would if you could.
- 13:38Sean McAllister: Yeah, so David Lee Roth's other shows over at uh the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, they all sold out.
- 13:44Sean McAllister: So he's added more shows just to meet the demand of fans who are like David Lee Roth, we need you back on stage.
- 13:53Sean McAllister: We can't have you sitting at home enjoying iced tea.
- 13:56Sean McAllister: We need you back up rocking.
- 13:59Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 13:59Dayna Roselli: Well, he's gonna do it, and I think it'll be great.
- 14:01Dayna Roselli: He might come out of retirement again after that, and after that, and after that.
- 14:05Sean McAllister: So we can only hope.
- 14:06Dayna Roselli: Good for him.
- 14:07Dayna Roselli: I mean, I think it's hard.
- 14:08Dayna Roselli: You decide to retire, and when you've had such a big life and a big career, you sit around and you go, hmm, did I make the right decision?
- 14:16Dayna Roselli: I might want to do a few shows here and there.
- 14:19Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 14:20Dayna Roselli: Didn't Elton John retire and then he still does stuff?
- 14:23Dayna Roselli: Or he just said he wasn't gonna tour anymore.
- 14:25Sean McAllister: He wasn't going to tour anymore.
- 14:27Dayna Roselli: Because he's been doing stuff and I'm not sure.
- 14:28Sean McAllister: When he left open the possibility of coming back and doing more Las Vegas shows, which I'm really hoping for.
- 14:35Sean McAllister: His shows at the Coliseum were amazing.
- 14:39Sean McAllister: Elton, if you're listening to Vegas Revealed, come on back to Vegas.
- 14:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he's great.
- 14:45Dayna Roselli: I love the stuff he's been doing, all the collaborations and stuff lately.
- 14:48Sean McAllister: Wouldn't that be a killer show?
- 14:50unknown: Yeah.
- 14:50Sean McAllister: If he had all of his new uh collaborative music in in a a residency show?
- 14:56Sean McAllister: Elton, John, and friends.
- 14:58Dayna Roselli: Yes, that would be cool.
- 14:59Dayna Roselli: Listen, I'm loving these collaboration shows.
- 15:02Dayna Roselli: They're but they've been my like favorite thing so far this year.
- 15:05Dayna Roselli: When people come together from similar-ish music backgrounds but a little different, and so that would be really cool.
- 15:12Sean McAllister: Hey, you know, we have uh people listening who can make that happen, so gotta put it out there.
- 15:18Dayna Roselli: For sure.
- 15:19Dayna Roselli: Well, if that's the case, then Sean and I would really love to open the show and welcome the crowd with a few jokes and maybe some cocktails.
- 15:27Sean McAllister: Gotta put it out there.
- 15:29Dayna Roselli: And didn't Carrie Underwood add shows?
- 15:31Dayna Roselli: I saw you tweet about that, and I and I was excited for her because I mean sometimes you I feel like when you're brand new, you kind of test the waters.
- 15:39Dayna Roselli: I mean, we knew it was gonna be great, but obviously there's demand now and there's room because Celine isn't probably gonna return anytime soon or even hit that new theater because of her l medical issues she had, and she's gotta go on and do on her own tour and all that.
- 15:53Sean McAllister: Well, you know what?
- 15:54Sean McAllister: It's just like Carrie sings.
- 15:55Sean McAllister: There must be something in the water because after her very first show here in Las Vegas at Resorts World, she did.
- 16:04Sean McAllister: She added more shows.
- 16:06Sean McAllister: I think she added six more dates in 2022 to her residency over at Resorts World.
- 16:13Sean McAllister: So well done.
- 16:14Sean McAllister: What an incredible launch to her residency.
- 16:18Sean McAllister: Carrie's first batch of shows are now wrapped up.
- 16:22Sean McAllister: Um, she'll be back in Las Vegas in March.
- 16:25Dayna Roselli: March, right.
- 16:26Dayna Roselli: And then May is where the I think the May is the additional.
- 16:28Sean McAllister: The May are the additional dates, right?
- 16:30Sean McAllister: And in in the meantime, we're gonna have uh Katy Perry opening later this month.
- 16:36Sean McAllister: Then in the new year, Luke Bryan hits the stage, and then Michael Bublet, and then Carrie Underwood is back.
- 16:42Sean McAllister: So yeah, we've got a great lineup over at Resorts World.
- 16:44Dayna Roselli: Speaking of Michael Bublet, I saw him on TikTok the other day, and I saw him on one of the late night shows talking about.
- 16:49Sean McAllister: He said he's hilarious.
- 16:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean he's funny.
- 16:51Dayna Roselli: Well, because he's you know known for being kind of dry, right?
- 16:53Dayna Roselli: And like so I feel like okay, I don't know if it's hilarious, but it's funnier than we would normally think Michael Bublé would be.
- 17:02Dayna Roselli: And he is take he's taking on basically making fun of the fact that everyone thinks he's dry and he only and he hibernates all year and comes out for the holidays.
- 17:10Sean McAllister: So it's good for a chuckle.
- 17:11Dayna Roselli: It is good for a chuckle.
- 17:12Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 17:13Dayna Roselli: Good for you, Michael Booblay, poking a little fun at himself and having fun on TikTok.
- 17:17Dayna Roselli: Um we're gonna talk a little bit later about Resorts World and what they're doing for the holidays because it's a brand new resort and they haven't been here during the holidays.
- 17:26Dayna Roselli: So we talk about displays at different resorts all the time.
- 17:29Dayna Roselli: Well, we just got an update on what they're doing.
- 17:31Dayna Roselli: But first, um, we also just got something about New Year's Eve fireworks, right?
- 17:35Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 17:36Sean McAllister: Uh which in the next week or so we'll be getting more details about it.
- 17:41Sean McAllister: But Las Vegas, again this year, is going to be returning to having a massive uh New Year's Eve firework display.
- 17:49Sean McAllister: Now you may recall last year that was called off because Las Vegas didn't want to encourage the masses of people getting together on the strip to watch this massive firework display.
- 18:02Sean McAllister: Well, now that people are getting vaccinated and all that, um, it's safer to get people back out in the outdoors, which is great.
- 18:10Sean McAllister: Um, there is going to be another massive firework display.
- 18:14Sean McAllister: America's Party 2022 is going off in Las Vegas.
- 18:18Sean McAllister: We'll have more details for you next week.
- 18:20Dayna Roselli: It's always good because it's outside.
- 18:22Dayna Roselli: Too, you know, everyone freezes if it's freezing out and but enjoys it anyway.
- 18:25Dayna Roselli: Or, you know, the weather here many, many times on New Year's Eve is actually pretty mild and nice.
- 18:30Dayna Roselli: So hopefully, but anyway, it's outdoor, just so that's a good thing.
- 18:34Sean McAllister: I usually watch the fireworks on TV from a party at somebody's house.
- 18:39Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 18:39Dayna Roselli: Well, I've stood out there year after year after year after.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: I know, I know.
- 18:43Dayna Roselli: And yeah, it's some weeks, like I said, some years are great, and then other years, ooh.
- 18:47Sean McAllister: You freeze your toes, you have like your toes are numb.
- 18:50Sean McAllister: Your toes are numb, I know.
- 18:51Dayna Roselli: But it's never as bad as upstate New York, where we're from, right?
- 18:54Sean McAllister: Well, that's true.
- 18:55Sean McAllister: I mean, can you imagine?
- 18:56Sean McAllister: The desert does thin your blood.
- 18:58Dayna Roselli: It does.
- 18:58Sean McAllister: We came out here with thick blood, Roselli, and it's turned into water.
- 19:02Dayna Roselli: It has.
- 19:03Sean McAllister: Hey, you know, Dana, uh, looking at um the downloads of our podcast in the last week or so, uh, there was a massive spike in downloads of an episode from a year ago, and that's when we interviewed Backstreet Boy Nick Carter.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: People love Nick, and you know, he's a great guy.
- 19:24Dayna Roselli: He also lives here in Las Vegas, and you know, the Backstreet Boys are huge.
- 19:28Dayna Roselli: Boy bands are bigger than ever.
- 19:30Dayna Roselli: You know, we just had what that huge performance by New Kids on the Block and New Edition at the uh American Music Awards.
- 19:36Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 19:37Dayna Roselli: And they just seem to just keep in doing shows and specials and collaborations and music on their own.
- 19:44Dayna Roselli: So we were looking at the numbers and we thought that's so interesting because we happen to have an interview booked with Nick this week.
- 19:51Sean McAllister: Yeah, we just did this interview uh a couple hours ago, and it's always great to catch up with Nick, see what he's up to in his life, and catch up on everything that he's got going on in the music world too.
- 20:04Dayna Roselli: Well, it's always fun.
- 20:05Dayna Roselli: You know, we're interviewing Nick Carter right now, and we're both in Las Vegas, which is is rare, but we love that Nick lives here.
- 20:11Dayna Roselli: We discovered that last year when we interviewed him.
- 20:13Sean McAllister: Yep, and uh it's great to see you again, Nick.
- 20:16Sean McAllister: I feel like this is it's almost a year ago that we spoke last, and I feel like it's becoming a holiday tradition, and we should just put it on the calendar for next year.
- 20:24SPEAKER_03: I know, I know.
- 20:25SPEAKER_03: Thank you for having me back again, though.
- 20:27SPEAKER_03: Um, it's it's awesome to uh to to be able to still be a part of this community and learn more and more.
- 20:34SPEAKER_03: The more that I uh continue to stay in Las Vegas after almost five years of being here, I've become closer and closer to so many people.
- 20:42SPEAKER_03: Um so it's it's a great community.
- 20:45Dayna Roselli: It really is.
- 20:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, listen, we love it and we love what you do for Cure for the Kids.
- 20:48Dayna Roselli: So let's just dive into that.
- 20:49Dayna Roselli: This sounds like a really fun event that's coming up on the 16th.
- 20:53Dayna Roselli: Um, you gotta get tickets now.
- 20:55Dayna Roselli: Only a thousand people will be led into this special holiday dinner and sing-along, right?
- 21:00SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
- 21:01SPEAKER_03: So um you can go to cureforthekids.org uh to learn all about it.
- 21:05SPEAKER_03: Um, it is called Home for the Holidays.
- 21:08SPEAKER_03: And what I'm doing is allowing uh people to purchase a ticket.
- 21:11SPEAKER_03: I think it's$25 for the entry fee.
- 21:14SPEAKER_03: Uh, you will get a recipe uh that we will be cooking at our home with a celebrity chef, uh Naiisha Arrington, and then Billy Harris as well is gonna be coming.
- 21:23SPEAKER_03: These are TV personalities, and I'm gonna I'm inviting some friends from the strip who actually perform.
- 21:28SPEAKER_03: I'm not gonna give it away yet, but people who actually perform on the strip are gonna come over to the house.
- 21:33SPEAKER_03: It's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 21:34SPEAKER_03: And then at the end, at the very end, uh I'll I have this uh little uh karaoke machine uh that I bought on Amazon, and I'm just gonna perform like five songs at the end on like holiday songs and some Baxter Boy songs on this karaoke machine.
- 21:47SPEAKER_03: And we're just really it's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 21:49SPEAKER_03: My kids are gonna be running around the house.
- 21:51SPEAKER_03: We're gonna be cooking with the people who who are registering and um just raising money for cure for the kids.
- 21:57SPEAKER_03: Uh a foundation out here that uh I've uh Come to love and appreciate and uh raising money for childhood cancer.
- 22:04Sean McAllister: And and Nick, I want to go back to these special guests just for a second because we know that Adele just announced her residency.
- 22:10Sean McAllister: Are you gonna blow our minds and have her show up in your living room?
- 22:14SPEAKER_03: She might be pretty busy right now.
- 22:16SPEAKER_03: It's gonna be tongue-in-cheek, it's gonna be cheeky, it's gonna be fun, it's gonna be all I could say is that um one of the guests actually is a shade of a it's it's they go by a a color on the strip and they're a group.
- 22:30SPEAKER_03: But I don't know, I have no idea what what who they are.
- 22:34Dayna Roselli: Okay, got it.
- 22:35Dayna Roselli: Got it, got it.
- 22:37Dayna Roselli: Oh, you got it, you got it.
- 22:39SPEAKER_03: That's one of them.
- 22:40SPEAKER_03: And I uh I love I uh um Lance Bass from InSync's gonna call in.
- 22:45SPEAKER_03: Um also uh just a lot of guests are gonna because they all these are people who are part of the community out here.
- 22:51SPEAKER_03: Um maybe even John Taffer might call in a buddy of mine uh from Bar Rescue.
- 22:56SPEAKER_03: So, you know, we're just we're just doing everything we can right now.
- 22:59SPEAKER_03: Like we're this holiday season, not not everyone's gonna have the the um the privilege to be, you know, in in our in their home with their families, and some people are gonna actually be in the hospital.
- 23:10SPEAKER_03: And I think that that's the most important part is to to to do something for those people who who need help.
- 23:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean it is so great when fortunate people you know can take time to go, okay, realize what you have, and then make sure that we take care of the others.
- 23:24Dayna Roselli: And I think that's what this is about.
- 23:26Sean McAllister: Yeah, 100%.
- 23:27Sean McAllister: And and I think what's cool with your support of Cure for the Kids, I mean, uh you guys even on tour have have taken time over the years to stop in and see kids at children's hospitals.
- 23:39Sean McAllister: And how did that start at the beginning?
- 23:41SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, it it just basically was our you know, our fan base.
- 23:45SPEAKER_03: Um, we've we used to work with uh uh still do when we're on the road, make a wish foundation, uh St.
- 23:51SPEAKER_03: Jude's and different organizations out there who when we would come on tour um in certain cities, you know, that we would get requests from families and and and kids who are in the hospital who uh either wanted to come to the show and we would invite them to the show, uh, give them a break from being in the hospital, or you know, uh just anybody who who we could kind of lift their spirits up and and we would then also, if we couldn't, they couldn't come to the show, maybe the next day we would in a certain city, we would stop into the hospital and visit those families and those people and the children.
- 24:24SPEAKER_03: And and we would it would just brighten up their day to see like an artist that they listened to, someone we would hear all these stories, um uh countless stories, of people saying that they would they were going through surgeries or procedures and and treatments and and they were listening to our music and it would it would help them get through that.
- 24:46SPEAKER_03: And those stories stuck with us and they made us um you know understand the the value of of what we do as artists, uh as musicians and entertainers, and you know, how we could actually um again you know help people to kind of get away from the problems in their lives, and and so obviously uh you know that's just something that we stuck with.
- 25:10Sean McAllister: Yeah, well, that's awesome.
- 25:11Sean McAllister: And we have a link to get tickets to the the cook-along and sing along uh benefiting cure for the kids down in our show notes.
- 25:17Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 25:18Dayna Roselli: I wanna I wanna talk a little bit about the after party because I was lucky enough to I had a friend call that said we have two seats that somebody was wasn't able to come.
- 25:25Dayna Roselli: Do you want to come?
- 25:26Dayna Roselli: I went and You did.
- 25:28SPEAKER_03: Okay, great.
- 25:29Dayna Roselli: It was like the best time ever.
- 25:31Dayna Roselli: I loved this show.
- 25:32Dayna Roselli: Did you have fun doing it?
- 25:33Dayna Roselli: It seemed like it.
- 25:35SPEAKER_03: It was so much fun.
- 25:36SPEAKER_03: Uh, we did, I think it was like four shows at the Venetian, and it was I've been friends with Joey and all those guys for a very long time.
- 25:44SPEAKER_03: He had this idea, he said maybe we could just kind of like do this rat pack vibe or whatever.
- 25:49SPEAKER_03: And and so uh we just kind of threw it all together, had like four days of preparation and got up on stage and cracking jokes and just you know having fun and singing all of our hits together, and and everyone really liked it.
- 26:03SPEAKER_03: And so, you know, there's uh talks about doing some other things in the future with that, the after party.
- 26:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was it was so much fun.
- 26:10Dayna Roselli: And when I was there, Coolio was there as a special guest.
- 26:12SPEAKER_03: And you guys, oh yeah, it was good.
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, well, and Sean talked to Wanye Morris from Boys to Men recently on a red carpet, and he said he's up for it, right?
- 26:21Sean McAllister: Yeah, absolutely.
- 26:22Sean McAllister: He he can't wait to get back up on the stage with all you guys and have more special guests popping in.
- 26:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's so interesting because um I we run into all the boys to men guys over the years, and um and but then when we really started to do the the after party uh the show, uh we we became even closer and learned more about one another.
- 26:43SPEAKER_03: And so we'll just we'll just you know uh be talking so much crap to each other and having so much fun backstage and just sharing stories of our you know our careers that are parallel in so many ways.
- 26:54SPEAKER_03: Uh so yeah, I absolutely love uh all those guys from from Boys to Men and Wanya Morris.
- 27:00SPEAKER_03: He lives in Vegas, so it's really cool.
- 27:01SPEAKER_03: It was an honor to work with such an incredible singer uh who we looked up uh to for so many years.
- 27:07Sean McAllister: And so we'll look forward to more after party details TBD.
- 27:11Sean McAllister: What about Backstreet?
- 27:12Sean McAllister: Are you guys gonna be back up on stage?
- 27:14SPEAKER_03: Well, that's the whole thing.
- 27:15SPEAKER_03: Uh you know, we've been off for two years.
- 27:17SPEAKER_03: We were in the middle of a world tour.
- 27:20SPEAKER_03: Like uh we were getting ready.
- 27:22SPEAKER_03: We were down in South America when the pandemic really struck and started.
- 27:26SPEAKER_03: Um, and we had to we had a 50,000 uh show um uh stadium that we were getting ready to play down in Brazil, and we got the phone call and they're like, you need to jump on a plane and you gotta get across the border now, or they're gonna close it and not allow anybody back in uh to for the safety purposes.
- 27:44SPEAKER_03: And so um ever since that time we just had not been on stage together uh performing.
- 27:50SPEAKER_03: We recorded some, we were in the middle of doing a um a Christmas uh album, which we pretty much finally finished right now, and it's awesome, so great.
- 27:58SPEAKER_03: We were gonna release it this year, but that didn't happen.
- 28:02SPEAKER_03: Um, and we're gonna probably do that next year.
- 28:05SPEAKER_03: And uh so yeah, there's like a lot of things on the plate, but we start back in uh in June, this June coming up in 2022 at the Hollywood Bowl.
- 28:13SPEAKER_03: Got a 58 shows in the States all across uh and so we're we're just gonna finish that up.
- 28:18SPEAKER_03: Um and you know, in the meantime, leading uh from now until June, uh I I'm gonna be releasing solo music, uh, gonna be doing some individual things, and we're all just hanging with our uh our kids right now.
- 28:31SPEAKER_03: You know, I got a seven-month-old and I'm I'm uh enjoying every moment that I can with her.
- 28:36Dayna Roselli: I bet.
- 28:36Dayna Roselli: Uh it's it's great moments to have.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: And I know you did just you just released a single too, right?
- 28:41Dayna Roselli: Scary monster?
- 28:42SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 28:42SPEAKER_03: So Scary Monster was a one-op.
- 28:45SPEAKER_03: I've I you know, I've had over 10 albums with the boys uh and like four solo albums.
- 28:53SPEAKER_03: So and now I'm really busy with all my kids, you know, driving them to school and you know, just all the stuff that goes into being a dad, right?
- 29:01SPEAKER_03: So I it's very, you know, I pay I pick and choose the kind of things I want to do.
- 29:06SPEAKER_03: So I I I released a song called 80s movie that was right when I had done The Mass Singer.
- 29:11SPEAKER_03: Um, and I put that one out as sort of a one-off and more of a specialty song.
- 29:16SPEAKER_03: And then I uh my family, uh my wife and all of us were we kind of play with like the cryptocurrency stuff and and we trade like tokens and you know, invest and all that stuff.
- 29:26SPEAKER_03: And there was this token called Zenu that came out, and I really liked it.
- 29:30SPEAKER_03: And they had this plan for all these like NFTs.
- 29:33SPEAKER_03: I collect NFTs.
- 29:34SPEAKER_03: It's funny.
- 29:34SPEAKER_03: I ran into uh Steve Aoki at an airport, and I'm like, I asked him, I said, Hey, do you collect NFTs?
- 29:39SPEAKER_03: He's like, Are you crazy?
- 29:40SPEAKER_03: Like, of course I do.
- 29:41SPEAKER_03: Like, and so it's like that whole artistic, like, you know, world, whatever.
- 29:45SPEAKER_03: So, anyways, long story short, um, you know, uh, I did the song called Scary Monster around Halloween.
- 29:51SPEAKER_03: You know, we do the whole theme stuff at the house and decorate the house.
- 29:55SPEAKER_03: Do we do this uh at our house?
- 29:57SPEAKER_03: We do this uh haunted house that we set up of people come through.
- 30:00SPEAKER_03: We had like a thousand people come through our haunted house.
- 30:02SPEAKER_03: And so I released this song called Scary Monster for this token as a theme song, and it was fun.
- 30:08SPEAKER_03: So that's and it's out on Spotify.
- 30:10Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 30:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we were listening to it.
- 30:11Dayna Roselli: I'm like, it's a good tune.
- 30:12Dayna Roselli: It is, yeah, it is.
- 30:14SPEAKER_03: But it but it's not it's I appreciate, thank you.
- 30:16SPEAKER_03: But it's not, it's not like, oh, this is like the professional like coming out for a Grammy.
- 30:21SPEAKER_03: No, no, it's not gonna not happen in right now.
- 30:23SPEAKER_03: It's uh you never know, it's just a fun, quirky stuff.
- 30:27SPEAKER_03: Like it was because when I talked to the people from the Zenu Token, I I said, you know, you guys are gonna create all these NFTs and they're zombie themed.
- 30:35SPEAKER_03: Well, I've made a zombie movie, I'm into like that whole scary stuff.
- 30:39SPEAKER_03: My my kids are my son loves that stuff.
- 30:42SPEAKER_03: He watches all the siren head stuff and all the like lighthead stuff on YouTube, and and so I was able to create my own like lyrical video with these like scary zombie monsters.
- 30:50SPEAKER_03: I'm like, hey, look, daddy's got a song, and don't you like this?
- 30:53SPEAKER_03: He's like, Yeah, that's cool.
- 30:54SPEAKER_03: And they were singing it on the way to school.
- 30:56Sean McAllister: So it's like more for that.
- 30:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, Nick, thank you so much for uh spending some of your holiday time with us.
- 31:02Sean McAllister: We you know what?
- 31:03Sean McAllister: Let's put it on the calendar for next year, but let's hope that we that we chat and see each other before then.
- 31:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, absolutely.
- 31:09SPEAKER_03: You guys have a great holiday.
- 31:11SPEAKER_03: You too.
- 31:11Sean McAllister: Thanks so much, Nick.
- 31:12Sean McAllister: Thank you.
- 31:13Dayna Roselli: So remember tickets 25 bucks for that virtual dinner and sing-along, and only a thousand tickets available.
- 31:18Dayna Roselli: So if you want to be part of that, get on it quick.
- 31:20Sean McAllister: I've got my apron ready.
- 31:22Sean McAllister: I'm ready to cook at home along with Nick.
- 31:24Sean McAllister: Uh, and a big thank you to all the Backstreet Boy fans who have followed us and who tune in to hear the interviews with Nick.
- 31:32Sean McAllister: That BSB Army is huge, millions strong out there, and we appreciate you all.
- 31:37Sean McAllister: Yeah, they're a great group.
- 31:39Sean McAllister: Let's do some tips.
- 31:41Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 31:44Dayna Roselli: I wanted to talk about Resorts World and the holidays.
- 31:48Dayna Roselli: Because it's brand new, we haven't had a holiday season with this resort yet, right?
- 31:51Sean McAllister: Right.
- 31:52Sean McAllister: We've seen what other resorts do, but we haven't seen how Resorts World decks their halls.
- 31:57Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 31:57Dayna Roselli: So we always talk about all the other ones.
- 31:59Dayna Roselli: So you and I have not been to Resorts World for the holidays just yet.
- 32:02Dayna Roselli: I might possibly go this weekend, um, which is when the podcast drops, but we're recording this a few days earlier.
- 32:09Dayna Roselli: But we do have pictures and I'm gonna put them on our social media.
- 32:12Dayna Roselli: So um, I'm excited about this because it looks really, really cool.
- 32:15Dayna Roselli: I wondered what they would do, but they have this area called the district where most of the restaurants and shops are.
- 32:21Dayna Roselli: And they've decked out the district.
- 32:23Dayna Roselli: And you know they have that huge LED globe.
- 32:26Sean McAllister: Yes, that's so cool.
- 32:27Dayna Roselli: Such a cool attraction.
- 32:29Dayna Roselli: Well, that 50-foot LED globe right in the center of the district is transformed into a larger-than-life snow globe.
- 32:36Sean McAllister: Wow.
- 32:37Dayna Roselli: I know, featuring apparently this captivating digital scenes like for the season, and I bet the pictures are great.
- 32:44Dayna Roselli: Actually, when you take pictures of it, they come out really, really good, which you wouldn't think they would because you're staring at like a screen, you know.
- 32:50Sean McAllister: That is gonna be so cool to see.
- 32:52Sean McAllister: I'm I'm excited to get over and see that really.
- 32:54Dayna Roselli: Makes sense, right?
- 32:55Dayna Roselli: A snow globe.
- 32:56Sean McAllister: Hey, and listen, it's a great spot for holiday photos.
- 33:00Sean McAllister: If it's too late for this year, then go over, take the photos, and save them for next year's cards.
- 33:05Dayna Roselli: I know, that's true.
- 33:06Dayna Roselli: Because they have apparently fun animations, like showcasing charming displays of like falling snow on a hillside cabin decorated with Christmas lights and surrounded by trees, a snowman, and more.
- 33:17Dayna Roselli: So that is one of the highlights, I think.
- 33:19Dayna Roselli: So that's right there in the district.
- 33:20Dayna Roselli: Plus, there's a lot of other decorations that will be there and picturesque, like photo opportunities, apparently at every turn.
- 33:27Sean McAllister: And there's lots of turns.
- 33:28Sean McAllister: So those are a lot of a lot of festive spots.
- 33:31Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 33:31Dayna Roselli: And then, you know, I don't even know if a lot of people know about this spot.
- 33:35Dayna Roselli: At the famous Foods Street Eats, right there, it's kind of like a food core, a little more high-end.
- 33:41Sean McAllister: Like a street market kind of setup.
- 33:43Dayna Roselli: Well, there's actually a speakeasy deep in there, which I didn't even know about.
- 33:48Sean McAllister: So I've seen people post about that.
- 33:50Sean McAllister: I didn't realize that's where it was.
- 33:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, apparently you discover it because you see people walk out and you're like, where did they just come from that wall, right?
- 33:57Dayna Roselli: So it's anyway, it's there and it's called uh the kitty kitty vice den.
- 34:01Dayna Roselli: Well, they're having a new theme.
- 34:03Dayna Roselli: Here Christmas Kitty.
- 34:04Dayna Roselli: Ooh.
- 34:05Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 34:06Dayna Roselli: We posted pictures on our social.
- 34:08Dayna Roselli: They've got it decked out in some really fun uh decorations, and they've got like uh different kinds of drinks in there, but yeah, it's a speakeasy that's you know tricky to find.
- 34:18Dayna Roselli: I don't even want to tell people where because I think the fun is to go and try and find it.
- 34:21Sean McAllister: It is.
- 34:22Sean McAllister: That's part of the adventure.
- 34:24Dayna Roselli: They have colorful string lights and great cocktails available, and it's really cozy.
- 34:29Dayna Roselli: So head over to Resorts World and check that out.
- 34:32Dayna Roselli: Then all the restaurants there also have kind of like holiday dinners, so they have tons of stuff going on there.
- 34:37Dayna Roselli: Just wanted to put it out there because a lot of times we always talk about all the other resorts and what they're doing for the holidays, but this might be something new, fresh, and kind of fun.
- 34:46Sean McAllister: Right.
- 34:46Sean McAllister: Cool.
- 34:47Sean McAllister: And uh, Dana, I do want to point out that this week, as an early holiday gift, we actually have three tips that we're giving out.
- 34:55Sean McAllister: So Resorts World at the Holidays is tip number one.
- 34:58Sean McAllister: Tip number two is coming at you right now, and we were just at uh the rollout, a very intimate uh dinner for the rollout of this uh new uh gin that is now available over at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
- 35:16Sean McAllister: It is Wonderbird Spirits.
- 35:19Sean McAllister: They're based out of Oxford, Mississippi.
- 35:22Sean McAllister: Uh the really great story of how this rice-based gin came to be, and the the three guys who got together in a very serendipitous way, they all decided to stop doing professionally what they had been doing for years and transition into the the world of spirits, and Wonderbird spirits are now available at the Cosmopolitan and will likely be expanding quickly through Las Vegas.
- 35:52Sean McAllister: But we were at a great dinner over at uh Momofuku at the Cosmopolitan with the founders and uh great guys, great spirits.
- 36:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was funny because you and I had both never been to that restaurant, been to the cosmopolitan millions of times, but I have never eaten there, and it was great, and the restaurant is beautiful, and we went into a kind of private room with a window view of the Bellagio.
- 36:14Dayna Roselli: It was great.
- 36:15Dayna Roselli: Also wanted to point out when you say it's a rice-based gin, they were telling us they're the only one like in the country.
- 36:21Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 36:22Dayna Roselli: It's with this ri it's not a thing.
- 36:25Sean McAllister: Well, it's it's well, the the base of the gin that they they use is the method is generally reserved for making sake.
- 36:35Sean McAllister: So uh which is the rice-based, you know, booze from Japan.
- 36:40Sean McAllister: Um, so they use that concept, but they've developed some really great uh gins out of that, and uh great cocktails that we tried, and it was really creative, innovative.
- 36:54Sean McAllister: And if if you're a gin lover or a cocktail lover in general, you're gonna want to go to the cosmopolitan and check out what they've created.
- 37:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and we had a martini that was like sake, sea salt, and olive.
- 37:06Dayna Roselli: It was interesting, different, different, but good.
