Luna: Yeah, every little bit helps us keep making these episodes. Now, let's get back to 'bila'. I'm ready. Lucas: Great. So today we're at the train station. You're planning a trip with a friend. You want to ask, 'When do you want to go?' In Malay: Bila awak mahu pergi? Luna: Bila awak mahu pergi? That's 'when do you want to go?' Lucas: Exactly. Let's break it down. 'Bila' is when, 'awak' is you, 'mahu' is want, 'pergi' is go. So, Bila awak mahu pergi? Luna: Bila awak mahu pergi? I like that. So if I want to answer, I'd say 'Saya mahu pergi esok' — I want to go tomorrow. Lucas: Perfect. 'Esok' means tomorrow. So you could say: Saya mahu pergi esok. Let's practice that. Saya mahu pergi esok. Luna: Saya mahu pergi esok. Tomorrow works for me. Lucas: Now, you're at the station, and you want to know when the train arrives. Ask: Bila kereta api tiba? Luna: Bila kereta api tiba? That's 'when does the train arrive?' Lucas: Yep. 'Kereta api' is train, 'tiba' is arrive. So, Bila kereta api tiba? Luna: Bila kereta api tiba? I'm getting the hang of this. Lucas: And the answer: Kereta api tiba pukul tiga. The train arrives at three o'clock. Luna: Kereta api tiba pukul tiga. So 'pukul' means o'clock. Lucas: Right. So you can say that to your friend. Kereta api tiba pukul tiga. Luna: Kereta api tiba pukul tiga. What if I want to ask when we arrive? Like, 'When do we get there?' Lucas: That would be: Bila kita sampai? Luna: Bila kita sampai? 'Kita' is we, 'sampai' is arrive. So it's 'when do we arrive?' Lucas: Exactly. Bila kita sampai? Luna: Bila kita sampai? I can picture asking that on the train. Lucas: Let's put it all together in a little scene. You and your friend are at the station. You ask: Bila awak mahu pergi? Luna: Saya mahu pergi esok. But I need to know the train time. Bila kereta api tiba? Lucas: Kereta api tiba pukul tiga. Then on the train, you ask: Bila kita sampai? Luna: I love that. It's practical. Let's practice those again. Bila awak mahu pergi? Saya mahu pergi esok. Bila kereta api tiba? Kereta api tiba pukul tiga. Bila kita sampai? Lucas: Wow, you've got it. Let's do a quick callback to last episode. We had 'Bila awak mahu pergi?' and 'Saya mahu pergi esok.' So we're building on that. Good job. Luna: Thanks. I feel more confident with 'bila' now. It's all about context. Lucas: Absolutely. So keep practicing these phrases. You can use them at any station or when making plans. We'll see you next time. Until then, selamat belajar! Luna: Selamat belajar, everyone. Bye!
