- 0:05Speaker 1: NFL Now is a production of the NFL in partnership
- 0:08Speaker 1: with I Heart Radio. Hello and welcome into NFL Now.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Alongside my buddy Steve White, Chim mom Reese in the
- 0:23Speaker 1: NFL Network newsroom. Steve, another Thursday Night thriller. Another Chiefs
- 0:27Speaker 1: Chargers game, going down to the wire, and they always do.
- 0:29Speaker 1: I mean everything's Justin Herbert took over the starting job.
- 0:32Speaker 1: What a great game. Herbert got it out with Patrick Mahomes,
- 0:35Speaker 1: made the plays when they had to be made. We'll
- 0:37Speaker 1: have much more on Chargers and Justin Herbert's injury in
- 0:39Speaker 1: just a moment, but let's show you what happened last night.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And Steve alluded to it's always going down to the wire,
- 0:45Speaker 1: nail bider when these two get together, primarily because of
- 0:48Speaker 1: the quarterbacks. Justin Herbert and Patrick Mahomes had sensational week
- 0:52Speaker 1: ones to start the season and Mahomes looking like a
- 0:54Speaker 1: second baseman coming up taking the shortfall and the sidearmed
- 0:57Speaker 1: the first Steve bro just a side on throw. Nothing
- 1:00Speaker 1: to Chargers could do. Look at this got all the
- 1:02Speaker 1: pursuit going to the right. Oh I got I could
- 1:05Speaker 1: do that. They were his arms based on a pro
- 1:08Speaker 1: truck they were down early. That would cut the league
- 1:10Speaker 1: to ten to seven. That was our halftime score. Let's
- 1:12Speaker 1: go to the third quarter now, Justin Herbert going up
- 1:14Speaker 1: from Mike Williams. What a play, one handed grab. We've
- 1:17Speaker 1: seen this before? Are the Chargers against the Chiefs? One
- 1:20Speaker 1: handed grab at the ends of what coverage all no
- 1:24Speaker 1: keenan at last night? Mike Williams had to come up big.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Who did eight catches for a hundred thirteen yards? And
- 1:29Speaker 1: then how about a big night for the j Watson crew.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Justin Watson gets into the end zone, absolutely stiff from
- 1:36Speaker 1: stick from home, stepping up and delivering a beautiful fall
- 1:38Speaker 1: to Watson. Obviously the biggest play of the game. Gerald
- 1:41Speaker 1: Everett had a long patch and run. Little fatigue there
- 1:46Speaker 1: and upstairs Jalen Watson for the nine interception returned turned
- 1:51Speaker 1: the game, Steve, And guess who's not fatigued the man
- 1:53Speaker 1: who just made the house call. You know, Gerald Ever
- 1:56Speaker 1: might have been tired, but the guy covering shore wasn't.
- 1:58Speaker 1: It was the longest touchdown by a rookie in the
- 2:02Speaker 1: fourth quarter on a go ahead score in NFL histories.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Chargers not done yet. Here's Gerald Evern trying to make
- 2:08Speaker 1: up for that one. They're down seven third and two.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Justin Herbert takes a huge shot there it is against
- 2:13Speaker 1: Steve falls on the helmet of Dan all right there.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I mean you can just feel the reverberations going through
- 2:18Speaker 1: his rib change. He would have to come out our void.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Chase Daniel comes in, but Herbert goes right back in
- 2:23Speaker 1: this time on third and one, has the first down,
- 2:26Speaker 1: easy scramble, but throws it away obviously in too much
- 2:29Speaker 1: pain there. Just look at that. I mean, he's just grimacing,
- 2:32Speaker 1: can't get his win, can't get together until here. He
- 2:35Speaker 1: threw a rope on fourth and one, plate after that,
- 2:37Speaker 1: and that set up this score Josh Palmer seven yard
- 2:40Speaker 1: touchdown to make it a one score game. On sidekick
- 2:43Speaker 1: now for the Chargers. Last falls on the ground, hands
- 2:48Speaker 1: team Noah Gray and the Chiefs pick it up. And
- 2:52Speaker 1: that is your ball game. Twenties seven, twenty four, Week
- 2:55Speaker 1: two underway with another Thursday night thriller. Justin Herbert undergoing
- 3:00Speaker 1: X rays after the game. More on that in a moment.
- 3:02Speaker 1: But Patrick Mahomes finding a way to win a huge
- 3:05Speaker 1: a f C West divisional rivalry game. Yeah, I mean
- 3:09Speaker 1: we just hung around. UM. I think that's the biggest thing.
- 3:11Speaker 1: The defense kept us in the game. Offense, we didn't mean,
- 3:13Speaker 1: we didn't play our best football. And I think the
- 3:15Speaker 1: defense that was huge for them to keep us in
- 3:17Speaker 1: that game. Makes them plays get points on the board. Um,
- 3:20Speaker 1: and then just and just give us a chance. And UM,
- 3:22Speaker 1: I think with a young defense like that, to see
- 3:25Speaker 1: that this early in the season, I think that's when
- 3:26Speaker 1: to carry us the rest of the way. He's okay. UM,
- 3:30Speaker 1: it was a tough game. And you're not going to
- 3:33Speaker 1: see a quarterback in any level of football play tougher
- 3:38Speaker 1: and do more for their team and will their team,
- 3:41Speaker 1: Um to give him a chance than him. There's nobody
- 3:44Speaker 1: that can do what he can do. Nobody. Um. He
- 3:47Speaker 1: showed a lot of guts. He showed us what he
- 3:49Speaker 1: shows every day, UM, that we're never out of the fight,
- 3:52Speaker 1: and he brought us back and gave us a chance.
- 3:55Speaker 1: There's older rivalries in the NFL, bitter rivalries in the NFL,
- 3:58Speaker 1: But I don't know if more one is more fun
- 4:01Speaker 1: right now than justin Herbert versus Patrick Mahomes always electric
- 4:04Speaker 1: when those two together. We'll be watching them for years
- 4:07Speaker 1: to come. Big question is we'll be watching Justin Herbert
- 4:10Speaker 1: in Week three when they returned to Los Angeles to
- 4:12Speaker 1: host the Jacksonville Jaguars, Mike Garrifolo joining us. Now, Justin
- 4:16Speaker 1: Herbert had those x rays after the game, Mike, what
- 4:18Speaker 1: can you tell us more about Justin Herbert's injury? Yeah, Omar,
- 4:22Speaker 1: I don't know if Brandon Staley ever did say that
- 4:25Speaker 1: the X rays were negative. He did say that. Excuse me,
- 4:29Speaker 1: Herbert was Okay, My understanding is the X rays were negative.
- 4:34Speaker 1: That's what I've been told. Now that's only half the
- 4:36Speaker 1: story though, when it comes to rib injuries. I was
- 4:38Speaker 1: watching Good Morning Football this morning on the flight home
- 4:41Speaker 1: from Kansas City. Dr Ian Rappaport was on, and he
- 4:44Speaker 1: told the audience that there's fractures in the ribs, but
- 4:47Speaker 1: then there's also rib cartilage. You could have an issue there.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Dr Rappaport is correct. So that is why Herbert today
- 4:54Speaker 1: is undergoing a series of tests, including a CT scan.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I and told me that that's the exact exam that's
- 5:00Speaker 1: going to be done, and that'll give the full story. Now,
- 5:03Speaker 1: if it's some kind of merely a pain tolerance thing
- 5:07Speaker 1: for Justin Herbert, and there's ten days from this game
- 5:10Speaker 1: against the Chiefs to the next game. I would say
- 5:12Speaker 1: that there's a good chance of him playing. I think
- 5:14Speaker 1: the only way they keep them out of there is
- 5:16Speaker 1: if it's some kind of uh issue medically that they
- 5:20Speaker 1: see on these scans and they need to hold him back.
- 5:22Speaker 1: If it's just pain tolerance, he's gonna give it a go,
- 5:24Speaker 1: just like he did last night. I mean, we're watching
- 5:26Speaker 1: that game. He could barely run. He wanted to stay
- 5:28Speaker 1: in the in the game. The guy's an ultimate competitor,
- 5:31Speaker 1: and that's why he stayed in to throw that touchdown
- 5:33Speaker 1: past there at the end. So the full battery of
- 5:35Speaker 1: tests will give the full story Omar, but as of
- 5:38Speaker 1: last night, no major concerns with what they saw on
- 5:41Speaker 1: the X rays at the stadium. It might care full
- 5:43Speaker 1: of the ultimate competitor flying home this morning to be
- 5:46Speaker 1: on the air with us after being inside a game
- 5:49Speaker 1: last night. My great job. Thank you very much. Much
- 5:51Speaker 1: more from you a little bit later, right, we welcome
- 5:53Speaker 1: Mark ross In now with a little front office perspective
- 5:56Speaker 1: on this thriller last night. Steve will start with you,
- 5:59Speaker 1: though Justin Herbert has obviously had so much talent his
- 6:03Speaker 1: first two plus years now in the NFL, all the records,
- 6:05Speaker 1: hound press free with his toughness last night. Well he's
- 6:08Speaker 1: super impressed. I mean, you know, it's not the first
- 6:09Speaker 1: quarterback we've hedn go through rib injuries and play like that.
- 6:12Speaker 1: But just the fact he took that hit you saw
- 6:14Speaker 1: later on the next drive he comes in, he could
- 6:16Speaker 1: have scrambled for the first down, didn't have it, and
- 6:19Speaker 1: then rallies back to make the big throw to lead
- 6:21Speaker 1: to a touchdown. Goes to show his toughness and the
- 6:24Speaker 1: fact how much he wants to win. And this again,
- 6:27Speaker 1: as grand Daily said, very few people can do the
- 6:29Speaker 1: things he does. He is that special of the player. Um,
- 6:32Speaker 1: we'll see how the ribs goes again. He's got eight
- 6:34Speaker 1: or nine days now before the next game. Let's not
- 6:37Speaker 1: forget Mark. I mean we just let's let's not walk
- 6:39Speaker 1: away from it. Justin. Herbert got his role as a
- 6:41Speaker 1: starter when Ty Taylor was to start a couple of
- 6:44Speaker 1: years ago, had a rib injury, took a shot before
- 6:47Speaker 1: the game where he had negative side effects, which opened
- 6:50Speaker 1: the door for Herbert to become the sudden starter and
- 6:52Speaker 1: emerge as the starter that he is no question as
- 6:56Speaker 1: shame would happen to tie Herbert would have been the
- 6:58Speaker 1: starter anyway. But yes, I love the talent, special talent,
- 7:02Speaker 1: love the toughness that he showed last night. But what
- 7:05Speaker 1: the next next step for Justin Herbert, and that's to
- 7:07Speaker 1: start winning games like last night's game. Going into the game,
- 7:11Speaker 1: the questions were is he ready to be on Mahomes level?
- 7:14Speaker 1: And I said, yes, he's got to start winning these
- 7:16Speaker 1: sort of win this game tonight, That's how he takes
- 7:19Speaker 1: that step. Look, the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes under Andy
- 7:23Speaker 1: Reid know how to win. They have the mentality when
- 7:25Speaker 1: you're part of a great team, you go into games
- 7:28Speaker 1: expecting to win and you do everything possible to do
- 7:31Speaker 1: that and you don't have any doubt with that. The Chargers,
- 7:34Speaker 1: in order for them to take that next step, have
- 7:36Speaker 1: to start developing that identity and developing that confidence because
- 7:40Speaker 1: the last few years, Hey, we blame Anthony Lynn a
- 7:43Speaker 1: couple of years ago late game failures, and now we're
- 7:45Speaker 1: seeing the same thing with the Chargers, Like when are
- 7:47Speaker 1: they going to take that step to go into games
- 7:50Speaker 1: and say we're going to close games out like this?
- 7:52Speaker 1: I think with Justin Herbert's talent and toughness that will
- 7:55Speaker 1: eventually come omar. But right now the Chiefs are still
- 7:58Speaker 1: number one. Yeah. Chargers last three games in that big
- 8:01Speaker 1: primetime spotlight the Thursday night game right here at so
- 8:04Speaker 1: Fae Stdium against the Chiefs last year, the Week eight
- 8:07Speaker 1: teen win an in game, first the Raiders and now
- 8:09Speaker 1: this one last night. Chargers in them all to the end,
- 8:12Speaker 1: but can't find a way to get again. After that
- 8:14Speaker 1: game last night, what stood out to you in terms
- 8:16Speaker 1: of the way the pendulum swung with Jalen Watson's I
- 8:19Speaker 1: NT yeah, would say, First, I really can't put all
- 8:21Speaker 1: this stuff on Herbert, but that that that pick six
- 8:23Speaker 1: that changed the game, right it was seventeen. All the
- 8:27Speaker 1: charges were driving Gerald Everett does not complete the route
- 8:30Speaker 1: we saw the play before, he tried to tap out
- 8:32Speaker 1: with fatigue, and then Watson with the pick, takes it
- 8:35Speaker 1: to the house, gives the Chiefs to seven league which
- 8:39Speaker 1: they would not relinquish. And this was again Kansas City
- 8:42Speaker 1: making the plays led to the pick. From that point on,
- 8:45Speaker 1: the Chiefs defense goes out and forces two points on
- 8:48Speaker 1: the next two charges possessions, and then Clyde Edwards Hilaire
- 8:52Speaker 1: seals it later on with a fifty two yard run.
- 8:55Speaker 1: But this play right here was the difference in the
- 8:58Speaker 1: game that gave the victory to the Chiefs. Yeah, no questions,
- 9:03Speaker 1: that was the player of the game. And once I
- 9:04Speaker 1: had up and you knew it was over. And I
- 9:06Speaker 1: don't I don't blame Herbert for that one at all.
- 9:08Speaker 1: You know, Gerald Everet, as you mentioned to play before,
- 9:09Speaker 1: he's trying to get out of there. That route was
- 9:12Speaker 1: not good. He should have stayed there, but he was
- 9:14Speaker 1: so fatigued he just slid over there. Then he dropped
- 9:16Speaker 1: his mouth piece. If you look at it, he's trying
- 9:17Speaker 1: to get his mouthpiece. He's not even worried about chasing
- 9:20Speaker 1: the play. But these sort of games, when great teams
- 9:23Speaker 1: play each other, it comes down to one or two plays.
- 9:26Speaker 1: You know, we talked about things and analyze things about
- 9:28Speaker 1: what's going to happen and if the defense does this,
- 9:30Speaker 1: the quarterback does that, But it really boils down to
- 9:33Speaker 1: one or two plays per game in these sort of
- 9:35Speaker 1: big games that make the difference. And you saw that
- 9:38Speaker 1: last night, and up to this point, the Chiefs know
- 9:41Speaker 1: how to win those games and come up with those
- 9:44Speaker 1: big plays. But you know, it was exciting, and we
- 9:47Speaker 1: thought the first half of it would be all the
- 9:49Speaker 1: fireworks and uh, you know, the offensive explosion there. But
- 9:53Speaker 1: you can grind it out too, And the Chiefs have
- 9:55Speaker 1: shown two different ways. Last week they go blow somebody out.
- 9:57Speaker 1: This week they win a tough game, and that's just
- 9:59Speaker 1: their calling card of winning teams. Mark is that on
- 10:01Speaker 1: the coaching staff for failing to realize Everett was gassers
- 10:04Speaker 1: that Everett for not fighting through in spite of his
- 10:07Speaker 1: uh out of breath, A little bit of both, you know,
- 10:10Speaker 1: the tight end coach has been looking on that, but
- 10:12Speaker 1: but definitely with a veteran like that. But you know,
- 10:15Speaker 1: guys that have been on three teams in four years,
- 10:17Speaker 1: there's a little something there despite the talent. And you know,
- 10:20Speaker 1: not to say that you know that was the case,
- 10:22Speaker 1: but you know that is definitely an issue where you
- 10:24Speaker 1: want your players to be all in and give it
- 10:27Speaker 1: all and if you can't go, you got it. That's
- 10:30Speaker 1: the difference between winners and Super Bowl champs. That little
- 10:33Speaker 1: effort there that he could have shown on that play. Well,
- 10:36Speaker 1: the whole offseason we discussed how do the Chiefs replace
- 10:38Speaker 1: Tyree Kilmark. First couple of games, what have you seen
- 10:41Speaker 1: by committee? You know, each each last week nine guys
- 10:44Speaker 1: touched the ball. This week, nine guys touched the ball.
- 10:46Speaker 1: And this is the way I think that they'll have
- 10:48Speaker 1: to play the rest of the year. And I think
- 10:50Speaker 1: they still got other guys that can't work in there.
- 10:51Speaker 1: When sky Bore the second round pick starts getting there
- 10:54Speaker 1: and getting more catches and touches and get more acclimated.
- 10:56Speaker 1: So for the Chiefs, it is by committee. And you
- 11:00Speaker 1: see a guy, uh, you know, like a Justin Watson
- 11:02Speaker 1: step up out of nowhere and make a big play
- 11:04Speaker 1: out of the Ivy League. Penn by the way to
- 11:06Speaker 1: make a play, and Kelsey is always going to be
- 11:08Speaker 1: the constant. But I think each week you'll see other
- 11:12Speaker 1: players step in there to make big plays. And they
- 11:14Speaker 1: have that depth. And when you talk about depth, they
- 11:17Speaker 1: just don't have bodies. They've had guys that they have
- 11:20Speaker 1: shown the past through games that can make plays when
- 11:22Speaker 1: called upon, who are there and can make plays. That's
- 11:25Speaker 1: the difference of just having bodies in there. And the
- 11:27Speaker 1: Chiefs so far have shown that. I think they'll only
- 11:29Speaker 1: get better the more guys get into that and Patrick
- 11:32Speaker 1: gets more comfortable. Omar, it's teve. As you look at
- 11:34Speaker 1: the Chargers offense, what were they missing more last night?
- 11:37Speaker 1: A dominant running game or keenan Allen I'll say too
- 11:40Speaker 1: offensive linemen. Um, look, that was the big thing. When
- 11:43Speaker 1: they had the injuries to the offensive line. Mike Williams
- 11:45Speaker 1: stepped up and he played his heart out and and
- 11:47Speaker 1: and you know for Gerald Everett, you know making that play.
- 11:50Speaker 1: He played well. But the run game got shut down,
- 11:52Speaker 1: especially in the second half, because they lost their starting center,
- 11:55Speaker 1: Corey Lynsley and right tackle Trade Pitkets. They could not
- 11:58Speaker 1: get the ball to do what they normally do. This
- 12:01Speaker 1: is a huge player right here. Well look, first half,
- 12:05Speaker 1: the Chiefs only had one QB hit. Second half they
- 12:09Speaker 1: had seven. That was ste Fagnolo's offensive Frank Clark and
- 12:12Speaker 1: Chris Jones to those guys, yourge car laughed us taking
- 12:15Speaker 1: advantage all the injuries on the offensive line. That was
- 12:19Speaker 1: a significant blow. It would happen to the Chargers and
- 12:22Speaker 1: allowed that Chief's defense was which is going to continue
- 12:24Speaker 1: to get better, to gain some traction and take advantage
- 12:27Speaker 1: of some of those injuries and get those hits on
- 12:30Speaker 1: Justin Herbert. If you never noticed how good Corey Linsley
- 12:32Speaker 1: is at center in the National Football League. Last night
- 12:35Speaker 1: was exhibit eight. Right, you realize how good he is.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Certainly turned the tide when he went down, Mark Ross,
- 12:40Speaker 1: Steve White. Much more from you a little later in
- 12:42Speaker 1: the show. Right now, it's our Insider Report with Tom Pella, Sero,
- 12:46Speaker 1: Mike Garo, follow and Ian rappaport Ian. We'll start with
- 12:49Speaker 1: you huge NFC South renewing that rivalry between the Tampa
- 12:53Speaker 1: Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints this week, and it's
- 12:55Speaker 1: like an all star roster when you look at the
- 12:57Speaker 1: injury report. Ian for them, what's the latest on the
- 13:00Speaker 1: Buccaneers injuries? Yeah, Bucks have traditionally struggled against Dennis Island's
- 13:05Speaker 1: defense with the New Orleans Saints. Will see who they
- 13:08Speaker 1: have out there today this Sunday to get after we'll
- 13:11Speaker 1: go through some of the injuries. Chris Godwin still dealing
- 13:14Speaker 1: with a hamstring injury. Coach Todd Bowls would not definitely
- 13:18Speaker 1: rule him out, but you say it's gonna be tough
- 13:19Speaker 1: for him to be out there, So expect Chris Godwin
- 13:23Speaker 1: to not be out there, still dealing with that hamstring injury. Meanwhile,
- 13:27Speaker 1: Julio Jones alt A knee injury. Was not out there yesterday,
- 13:31Speaker 1: was out there today. That's a really good sign for
- 13:33Speaker 1: his availability. I would expect him to play. Similar situation
- 13:37Speaker 1: for Mike Evans popped up with a calf was not
- 13:39Speaker 1: out there yesterday after being limited on Wednesday. Also back
- 13:43Speaker 1: at practice today. Expect him to play as well. And
- 13:46Speaker 1: then similar situations of a Russell Gauge, another one of
- 13:49Speaker 1: their right receivers. This is all about all of their
- 13:50Speaker 1: wide receivers. He also was at practice today after being
- 13:53Speaker 1: slowed by a hamstring. So they may not have Godwin,
- 13:56Speaker 1: but it does seem like they're gonna have the rest
- 13:58Speaker 1: of them guys and Ian. It's a similar situation right
- 14:03Speaker 1: now with their opponent, piece Ans, who have a lot
- 14:05Speaker 1: of big names on the injury report going into this week.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Start out with their quarterback Jamis Winston, who has been
- 14:11Speaker 1: limited in practice the past two days because of a
- 14:13Speaker 1: back injury. Winston actually went into the medical tent during
- 14:17Speaker 1: last week's game, but was able to come back out.
- 14:19Speaker 1: He finished. He was throwing up the w's after the game.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Certainly seems like he's trending toward playing, but there still
- 14:25Speaker 1: are those lingering questions as well. As there are. In
- 14:27Speaker 1: the backfield, You've got running back mark Ingram who has
- 14:30Speaker 1: been limited the past two games because of an ankle injury,
- 14:33Speaker 1: and Alvin Kamara maybe the biggest one. Limited on Wednesday,
- 14:37Speaker 1: then did not practice on Thursday. That's often the sign
- 14:40Speaker 1: of a player whose status is up in the air
- 14:42Speaker 1: for the game. Saints are back on the practice field
- 14:45Speaker 1: about fifteen minutes from now. Camara said after last week's
- 14:48Speaker 1: game he thought he was okay, but whether or not
- 14:51Speaker 1: he's on the field today will probably tell us a
- 14:52Speaker 1: lot about whether we can expect to see him on Sunday.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Omar And like another big divisional rivalry matchup, the Seahawks
- 14:59Speaker 1: and forty Niners didn't have George Kittle last week versus
- 15:02Speaker 1: the Bears the forty nine. What's the latest on him
- 15:04Speaker 1: approaching this Omar George Kittle remaining out of practice the
- 15:08Speaker 1: last couple of days with that groin issue. John Lynch,
- 15:11Speaker 1: the general manager for the forty Niners, was on the
- 15:13Speaker 1: radio I believe this morning, saying that the decision on
- 15:16Speaker 1: Kittle will come right down the game time now. They
- 15:19Speaker 1: said the last the same thing last week and he
- 15:22Speaker 1: wound up not playing. I'll respect what Lynch said. But
- 15:25Speaker 1: as I sit here right now, my educated I mean,
- 15:29Speaker 1: I wouldn't even call it a guess. My belief based
- 15:32Speaker 1: on the conversations that I have had is that George
- 15:34Speaker 1: Kittle will not play in this game either. But I
- 15:37Speaker 1: can't tell you that with a certainty. Just prepare yourself
- 15:40Speaker 1: if he's on your fantasy team to have somebody else
- 15:42Speaker 1: playing on Sunday, uh in your lineup. One other injury
- 15:46Speaker 1: you want to give you a note on DeAndre Swift,
- 15:49Speaker 1: the running back for the Lions, who downplayed his ankle
- 15:52Speaker 1: issue when he spoke to the media yesterday. After missing practice,
- 15:55Speaker 1: back at practice today, So that is a good sign
- 15:58Speaker 1: for the Lions that they're young running back is back
- 16:00Speaker 1: on the field. The official designation for his status for
- 16:04Speaker 1: the game will I'm out later today, But a good
- 16:07Speaker 1: sign that he he is so confident and b is
- 16:09Speaker 1: back on the practice field. Monster game against Eagles last
- 16:13Speaker 1: week a hundred forty four yards certainly could use them
- 16:15Speaker 1: against the Commanders this weekend. Tom mike Ian, thank you
- 16:18Speaker 1: all very much. Still to come here on NFL now.
- 16:21Speaker 1: We are looking forward to that big matchup in Dallas.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Seems like the sky is falling. Now with the a
- 16:27Speaker 1: f C champs and the Bengals Joey b coming to down,
- 16:31Speaker 1: how did the Cowboys respond without Dak? That's next on
- 16:34Speaker 1: NFL Now. Am I so Dak Prescott is out, Cooper
- 16:42Speaker 1: Rush is in? Of course, had that start last week
- 16:45Speaker 1: against Minnesota, leading the Cowboys to a win. But the
- 16:48Speaker 1: Cowboys have big problems quarterback not the only one, and
- 16:52Speaker 1: the fans are letting talk radio know in Big d
- 17:00Speaker 1: we sat through the same BS last year's to watch
- 17:03Speaker 1: San Francisco. Were that through the same BS tonight? Brian?
- 17:07Speaker 1: My question for you is why do we keep feeding
- 17:11Speaker 1: into the BS that Jerry wants us to do? Is
- 17:13Speaker 1: us peasants are down the everybody ice cream calls and
- 17:16Speaker 1: he's up there this week. Nobody's scared of us. Nobody
- 17:19Speaker 1: is like intimidated a week when we show up, and
- 17:21Speaker 1: I think it's because our coach doesn't have full control.
- 17:25Speaker 1: My problem is the game got me drinking tonight, and
- 17:28Speaker 1: the reason is killing Moore. I don't think he forgotten
- 17:32Speaker 1: on the call in the offense they left the league
- 17:34Speaker 1: in scoring last year. The problem is you don't know
- 17:36Speaker 1: when the pass on the run. Mike McCarthy. He may
- 17:39Speaker 1: have to take over play caring because do you put
- 17:42Speaker 1: your job in the hands of somebody that did what
- 17:46Speaker 1: he did today? Alright inside the eye of the storm
- 17:50Speaker 1: is Jane Slater. It is all happening right now, Jane.
- 17:53Speaker 1: With Cowboys fans, you think about inexperienced quarterbacks, a defense,
- 17:58Speaker 1: a running game their best friend. How do the Cowboys
- 18:00Speaker 1: get that running game going against that Bengals defense? Well, Omar,
- 18:06Speaker 1: real quick. I love that we played some of those
- 18:08Speaker 1: fan calls because you can imagine my inbox. I am
- 18:10Speaker 1: not the Cowboys suggestion box. But Jerry joked. I don't
- 18:14Speaker 1: know if he was joking. I actually think he was serious.
- 18:17Speaker 1: On the fan this morning, he said he'd be open
- 18:19Speaker 1: to taking calls from fans, and he understands that they're upset.
- 18:22Speaker 1: But one of the things they're most upset about, Omar,
- 18:25Speaker 1: is the fact they're not committing to the run, despite
- 18:27Speaker 1: telling us all off season and through training camp that
- 18:30Speaker 1: that's what they wanted to do. Ezekiel Elliott says they
- 18:33Speaker 1: have to commit to it, and he says they've got
- 18:36Speaker 1: the efficiency there. He was asked, well, we're your ten
- 18:39Speaker 1: Sunday enough, and he emphatically gave a simple answer of no.
- 18:43Speaker 1: He played through an injury last season, but says he's
- 18:45Speaker 1: ready to go still against the Bengals. But against the Bucks,
- 18:48Speaker 1: let's just talk about what he did again, just ten
- 18:51Speaker 1: carries twenty three yards, Naji Harris or he had fifty
- 18:55Speaker 1: three Rather Naji Harris only at twenty three yards on
- 18:58Speaker 1: ten carries against the Bengals, and they need to get
- 19:00Speaker 1: something going because he's we discussed this last hour Stevie
- 19:03Speaker 1: Lamb struggling with the double cover this season and we
- 19:06Speaker 1: saw Dak Prescott throwing in those tight windows. How is
- 19:09Speaker 1: Cooper Rush going to do that when they get the
- 19:10Speaker 1: same sort of coverage. I've got a fun fact for you,
- 19:13Speaker 1: Not sure if it's that much of a fun fact
- 19:14Speaker 1: for fans. And his thirty three career games, Omar, can
- 19:18Speaker 1: you guess how many times Ceedee Lamb has had a
- 19:20Speaker 1: hundred yards receiving two? Five? Not much better better than
- 19:27Speaker 1: I thought. Yeah. So on the other side of the ball,
- 19:29Speaker 1: Michael Parsons so much hype coming into year two, obviously
- 19:33Speaker 1: defensive rookie of the Year, and he played in Week
- 19:36Speaker 1: one fantastically. What's he's saying about that? Week one loss. Well,
- 19:40Speaker 1: I love that he's stepping up and being a leader
- 19:41Speaker 1: of sorts in this locker room in just his second year.
- 19:44Speaker 1: He says he sees an opportunity here, and when fans
- 19:47Speaker 1: listen to that, the question might be why you know
- 19:49Speaker 1: they started off owen one last season they lost to
- 19:51Speaker 1: Marcus Lawrence and Practice following an unfortunate injury, And he
- 19:55Speaker 1: points out they still managed to go to l A
- 19:57Speaker 1: and beat the Chargers, but in that one Tony Poler
- 20:00Speaker 1: had over a hundred yards Ceedee Lamb had eighty one,
- 20:03Speaker 1: Dac was under center. My my, the Parsons was the
- 20:05Speaker 1: guy who stepped up, got a stack Traybond Digs had
- 20:07Speaker 1: an interception. So you're gonna need that and much more
- 20:10Speaker 1: when you're facing the Bengals on Sunday. And I'd love
- 20:13Speaker 1: to point out to you guys, the teams that go
- 20:15Speaker 1: oh into only about of them make the playoffs every year,
- 20:19Speaker 1: So they've got to get a win this weekend. Yeah,
- 20:22Speaker 1: Cowboys haven't started in two since the twenty ten seasons,
- 20:25Speaker 1: So you know, if there's this much noise and drama
- 20:28Speaker 1: after one week, we can imagine what would be like
- 20:31Speaker 1: if they have two losses to start this season. James later,
- 20:34Speaker 1: thank you very much. Meanwhile, welcome back Mark Rosso. As
- 20:38Speaker 1: good as the Eagle secondary on paper has appeared to
- 20:41Speaker 1: improve during this offseason, they still gave up thirty five
- 20:45Speaker 1: points to the Lions. How on earth do they slow down?
- 20:48Speaker 1: Justin Jefferson, Well, let's give them the benefit of the
- 20:51Speaker 1: doubt that they were they got up so early that
- 20:54Speaker 1: the defense or that the offense for the Lions were
- 20:56Speaker 1: just chucking it around. So we'll give them the benefit
- 20:58Speaker 1: of the doubt in Game one that it was because
- 21:00Speaker 1: they were down so much. But what they'll have to
- 21:03Speaker 1: do is, Justin Jefferson, no corner in the lead can
- 21:05Speaker 1: cover this guy one on one. I would imagine that
- 21:07Speaker 1: the Eagles will have Darius slay on him following him,
- 21:10Speaker 1: but then also with safety help. But what it really
- 21:13Speaker 1: comes down to is that front for the Eagles, you know,
- 21:15Speaker 1: the vaunted front that I thought come into the season
- 21:18Speaker 1: with a sign Reddick and Fletcher Cox and Jordan Davis
- 21:21Speaker 1: the rookie going there with Brandon Graham, Josh Swed, I
- 21:24Speaker 1: thought they had a lot of bodies up there that
- 21:26Speaker 1: could really get after the quarterback and dominate the game.
- 21:29Speaker 1: But in Game one they only sat Jared off one time,
- 21:32Speaker 1: so they didn't really show up. So it's important that
- 21:35Speaker 1: they show up and get after Kirk Cousins because, as
- 21:39Speaker 1: we've seen, kirk Cousins is at his best when he's
- 21:41Speaker 1: in rhythm, no one's around him. He can pick you
- 21:43Speaker 1: apart on those quick timing routes. But once you start
- 21:46Speaker 1: getting into kirk Cousin's face, making him uncomfortable, that's when
- 21:49Speaker 1: we see kirk Cousins sort of fall apart. So it's
- 21:52Speaker 1: gotta be imperative for that Eagles front to really dictate
- 21:55Speaker 1: the game because if Justin Jefferson gets loose one on
- 21:58Speaker 1: one on anybody, he's gonna put up another performance like that.
- 22:02Speaker 1: And don't forget, we still got Adam Adam Feeling to
- 22:04Speaker 1: worry about and cooking out the backfield. So Eagles front
- 22:07Speaker 1: dominate the game. Omar, Yeah, that offense playing potently with
- 22:10Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins making all the right decisions, agreeing screen band
- 22:14Speaker 1: that one to cap week to a historic Monday night
- 22:17Speaker 1: going to be part of a concurrent double header. The
- 22:18Speaker 1: Bills Titans will kick things often about a hour and
- 22:21Speaker 1: a half later Eagles vikings, so check your local listings,
- 22:24Speaker 1: Mark Ross, thank you very much. Meanwhile, we have the
- 22:28Speaker 1: Cross the Street, the Falcons and the Rams will be
- 22:30Speaker 1: our first time getting a look at the Rams and
- 22:32Speaker 1: say are blown out against the Buffalo Bills in the
- 22:35Speaker 1: NFL kickoff game. Kayla, we start with you, how do
- 22:38Speaker 1: the Rams improve their running game after what we saw
- 22:41Speaker 1: against the Bills last week? Well, the running game needs
- 22:43Speaker 1: to be improved solely because they only had fifty two
- 22:45Speaker 1: rush yards. But one other thing I'll add omar with
- 22:48Speaker 1: the cam Akers being a much better part of that offense,
- 22:51Speaker 1: but the offensive line I want to talk about as well,
- 22:53Speaker 1: because the old line struggled to protect quarterback Matthew Stafford.
- 22:57Speaker 1: He took seven sacks, had a number of different hits.
- 23:00Speaker 1: And you have to also remember this is a quarterback
- 23:03Speaker 1: who's really here healing his right elbow. And there's also
- 23:06Speaker 1: a lot of new shifting parts on that offensive line.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Center Brian Allen is expected to miss roughly two to
- 23:12Speaker 1: four weeks with the knee injury, so they're gonna be
- 23:14Speaker 1: moving right guard Coleman Shelton over to center. He's played
- 23:17Speaker 1: there before. There's not a whole lot of concern there.
- 23:19Speaker 1: But then the question becomes, Okay, what do we do
- 23:22Speaker 1: at right guard? Logan Bruss isn't in the picture because
- 23:24Speaker 1: he had his season ending injury, so you can expect
- 23:27Speaker 1: the Ramps to potentially turned their attention to Tremaine Acram.
- 23:31Speaker 1: This is a player who has only played thirteen games
- 23:34Speaker 1: in the NFL. Mind you, when he was playing at Clemson, Guys,
- 23:38Speaker 1: he was solely a tackle. He hasn't played a whole
- 23:40Speaker 1: lot of guard, not only in the National Football League
- 23:43Speaker 1: but in general. So he was asked that question, you know,
- 23:45Speaker 1: how do you feel going from transitioning from tackle to guard?
- 23:49Speaker 1: He says he feels confident. And I'll tell you this.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Offensive coordinator Liam Cohen as well as Sean McVeigh say
- 23:54Speaker 1: they both see a lot of confidence in him and
- 23:56Speaker 1: they wouldn't put him in a position if they didn't
- 23:58Speaker 1: think he was ready to go on Sunday? What was confident?
- 24:01Speaker 1: Because the interior is great a year and Anthony Rush
- 24:03Speaker 1: with the Falcons is pretty good. They got some lineback cars.
- 24:05Speaker 1: You're gonna be gon at test him to Michael Walker
- 24:06Speaker 1: and some of these guys coming up, But I want
- 24:08Speaker 1: to flip it to the Falcon's real quick You saw
- 24:11Speaker 1: Marcus Mariota rush for seventy two yards on twelve carriers
- 24:14Speaker 1: in the opener. That mobile pocket is a different thing
- 24:16Speaker 1: than the Falcons have used in the fourteen years. And
- 24:19Speaker 1: Matt Ryan was quarterbacking, and we also saw the Rams
- 24:22Speaker 1: get exploited with a running quarterback and Josh Allen in
- 24:25Speaker 1: Week one, so it'd be it'ld be a task to
- 24:28Speaker 1: this defense to track a mobile quarterback and the run
- 24:30Speaker 1: lanes it naturally creates. So, Kayla, I want to kind
- 24:33Speaker 1: of send it back to you right here. You talked
- 24:35Speaker 1: to d c Rockey Morris and he mentioned the fact
- 24:38Speaker 1: that there are legitimate comparisons in the running styles with
- 24:40Speaker 1: Mariota and Josh Allen. How do they combat that They
- 24:44Speaker 1: got to be in the rush lanes and they also
- 24:46Speaker 1: have to shed blocks, especially if you're going up against
- 24:48Speaker 1: guys like Darrell Patterson. I mean where he Morris made
- 24:50Speaker 1: it very clear that this is a player who cannot
- 24:53Speaker 1: only beat you in the receiving game, but he can
- 24:55Speaker 1: play tight end, he can be a running back, he's
- 24:57Speaker 1: great at returning. But if you make the comparison of
- 24:59Speaker 1: Josh Allen and Marcus Mariota, obviously the experience is different,
- 25:03Speaker 1: but both can beat you their legs or with their legs,
- 25:06Speaker 1: and that's something he says that point blank. We have
- 25:09Speaker 1: to make sure that we're ready to compete come Sunday.
- 25:11Speaker 1: And they put twenty six points on the board against
- 25:13Speaker 1: the Saints and Kyle Pitts wasn't much of a factor,
- 25:15Speaker 1: so they get something from him. Look out for that
- 25:17Speaker 1: Rams defense, right, Kayles steve very much mean while still
- 25:21Speaker 1: to come. The rushing attack of Nick Chubb and Kareem
- 25:25Speaker 1: Hunt on full displaying Carolina last week, and they repeat
- 25:29Speaker 1: that performance against the Jets. There was answering with Tom
- 25:32Speaker 1: Pella sero we found them next on NFL. Now that
- 25:39Speaker 1: this is the game I'm most looking forward to on Sunday,
- 25:42Speaker 1: to a tongue of violoa, Jalen Waddle, Tyreek Hill against
- 25:46Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, Devin Duverne, a couple of
- 25:50Speaker 1: touchdowns on Sunday, A lot of fireworks potentially expected in Baltimore.
- 25:55Speaker 1: For more on this matchup, Let's welcome back our Mark
- 25:58Speaker 1: Ross and Cameron wolf Cam you'll be there. Lamar Jackson
- 26:02Speaker 1: lot of talk about how he's gonna face this Dolphins
- 26:04Speaker 1: blitz happy defense, what's he saying about it? Yeah, Omar,
- 26:08Speaker 1: the Ravens that spent all off season watching the tape
- 26:10Speaker 1: of last year's game where the Dolphins just sent blitz
- 26:13Speaker 1: after blitz after blitz. Lamar Jackson said this week pretty
- 26:16Speaker 1: confidently that we feel like we have answers for it
- 26:19Speaker 1: if they try it this year. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman said,
- 26:22Speaker 1: we're gonna make them pay if they roll the dice
- 26:24Speaker 1: on those covers zero blitzes. And just to remind folks,
- 26:27Speaker 1: I was at that Thursday night game last year. Lamar
- 26:29Speaker 1: Jackson was rolling to an MVP front runner race and
- 26:32Speaker 1: the Dolphins sent thirty eight defensive back blitzes from Brandon
- 26:36Speaker 1: Jones and Javon Holland their two safeties and really got
- 26:39Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson frustrated and off their spot. And so one
- 26:42Speaker 1: thing I anticipate the Ravens doing one. They hope they
- 26:44Speaker 1: have JK. Dobbins to help in the run game. He
- 26:47Speaker 1: just spoke a few minutes ago to reporters and said
- 26:49Speaker 1: we will see with a smile regarding if he plays
- 26:52Speaker 1: and the other element, the deep ball, Lamar Jackson said
- 26:54Speaker 1: that scares people off the blitz. I'm looking forward to
- 26:57Speaker 1: seeing Devin Duverney, who had a big day last week
- 27:00Speaker 1: on the other cornerback of the Miami Dolphins. Calais Campbell
- 27:03Speaker 1: told him last week, I had you got my agy team,
- 27:05Speaker 1: but I left you on this bench. He told him
- 27:07Speaker 1: he won't leave on the bench again this week. Mark, well, Cam,
- 27:12Speaker 1: you hit the both I mean the double double. Due
- 27:14Speaker 1: thereof they gotta run the ball. They only ran for
- 27:17Speaker 1: six or four yards last week, only average three yards
- 27:19Speaker 1: per rush against the Jets defense, So that has to
- 27:22Speaker 1: be better here against this Biami defense to dictate the game.
- 27:26Speaker 1: That's what the Ravens do best, is control the game
- 27:28Speaker 1: by running the ball and then take the deep shots
- 27:31Speaker 1: as we saw last week. That's encouraging that they did
- 27:34Speaker 1: hit the three big deep balls last week, so they'll
- 27:37Speaker 1: definitely need more that this week against a better Biami
- 27:40Speaker 1: defense and a better Miami secondary than they faced last
- 27:43Speaker 1: week against the Jets. So guests encouraging with the deep
- 27:45Speaker 1: balls last week, but couldn't run the ball. They can't
- 27:48Speaker 1: have one or the other. They have to have both
- 27:50Speaker 1: and they're intertwined to win this game against that Miami defense,
- 27:53Speaker 1: who you know are not scared of that Raven's offense.
- 27:56Speaker 1: So Mark should be a big fun game. Both teams
- 27:59Speaker 1: off to a great start. Winn and oh trying to
- 28:00Speaker 1: prove that they're capable of more. Here in week number two,
- 28:04Speaker 1: Mark can thank you very much. Gets the ball on
- 28:08Speaker 1: the coach Nick Chubby's right open pick one by Nick
- 28:11Speaker 1: chuckers all. Nick Chubb can do signle turk play actually faith,
- 28:16Speaker 1: he's got a bad white don't but hot top off.
- 28:18Speaker 1: He's got it. Touchdown into the headphone hut black friend cutter, touchdown,
- 28:26Speaker 1: He's got what land for More on the Browns and
- 28:33Speaker 1: the Jets, we welcome back our Tom Pallisero. There he is.
- 28:36Speaker 1: I think when you look at that game that they
- 28:38Speaker 1: had more than two hundred scrimmage yards for both Nick
- 28:40Speaker 1: Chubb and Cream Hunt. That's what Kevin Stefanski envisions with
- 28:44Speaker 1: his offense. How did the Jets slow them down? Tom
- 28:49Speaker 1: lamar I talked earlier today to Jets coach Robert Salo
- 28:52Speaker 1: just said, this run game is ridiculous. They've got arguably
- 28:54Speaker 1: the best one to punch in all of football. They
- 28:56Speaker 1: got one of the best in the business. Bill Callahan,
- 28:59Speaker 1: as the offensive line coach, was a heavy hand and
- 29:01Speaker 1: designed that run game, and they just do a really
- 29:03Speaker 1: good job holding their gaps and stressing the defense. However,
- 29:07Speaker 1: one of the positives that came out of last week
- 29:09Speaker 1: for the Jets, and you start Mark Ross allude to it,
- 29:11Speaker 1: was the way that they played against the run with
- 29:14Speaker 1: the Baltimore Ravens held them to the lowest rushing total
- 29:17Speaker 1: they've had in the game in the Lamar Jackson era.
- 29:19Speaker 1: And obviously that's a Ravens run game that can test
- 29:22Speaker 1: you in a lot of different ways. So what the
- 29:24Speaker 1: Jets have to do obviously cannant the ball get thrown
- 29:26Speaker 1: over your head. But in terms of the running game,
- 29:28Speaker 1: this is one of those weeks where you kind of
- 29:30Speaker 1: want Jacoby Brissette to have to be the guy to
- 29:33Speaker 1: be two. If they can continue to be fundamentally sound,
- 29:35Speaker 1: play as fast and physical as they did a week ago.
- 29:38Speaker 1: That's one area where the Jets think this is gonna
- 29:40Speaker 1: be a really good test of course, Omar, but they
- 29:42Speaker 1: think that they've got an opportunity here to really show
- 29:44Speaker 1: what they're all about. Yeah, Brown is trying to improve
- 29:46Speaker 1: to two and oh since Bill Belichick was the head
- 29:49Speaker 1: coach back in they've yet to do it. In the
- 29:52Speaker 1: latest version of the Browns looking to do it against
- 29:54Speaker 1: the New York Jets on Sunday. Tom Pilla Sero, thank
- 29:57Speaker 1: you very much, Greig Rosenthal, buddy with his game picks.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Look at this four and oh last week, including that
- 30:05Speaker 1: Seahawks upset over the Broncos. Look how close he was
- 30:08Speaker 1: on The actual score was seventeen to sixteen. He had
- 30:11Speaker 1: eighteen to seventeen called by Greg. Here's this week's picks
- 30:15Speaker 1: from Greg Rosenthal. Thank you, Omar. Al Right, Dan Hands
- 30:21Speaker 1: is here with Mark Cecil and Greg Rosenthal. Greg, you
- 30:23Speaker 1: have your picks column every week, and let's talk about
- 30:26Speaker 1: something because I think we have some issues with it.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Let's start with Carolina Giants. Mark, you're a big fan
- 30:32Speaker 1: of the Giants. Greg not so much. According to his article,
- 30:35Speaker 1: I am a little baffled by you picking the Panthers
- 30:38Speaker 1: to win this. Now. I get it, these aren't There
- 30:39Speaker 1: isn't a clear superpower here, but the Giants coming out
- 30:43Speaker 1: of Week one have some of the best energy of
- 30:45Speaker 1: any team in the league, and the Panthers the opposite.
- 30:47Speaker 1: I just thought I understand that Baker Mayfield kind of
- 30:50Speaker 1: surged down the stretch in that game. Their offense was
- 30:52Speaker 1: a huge mess in their defense, supposed to the Giants
- 30:56Speaker 1: offensive in the first half of the other side of this,
- 30:59Speaker 1: like the way that se Kwon Barkley is running right now,
- 31:01Speaker 1: and the like the Panthers defense operated as like a
- 31:04Speaker 1: mistackle robot, like they missed eight team tackles. They cannot
- 31:07Speaker 1: stop se Kuon Barkley. After what I saw Nick Chub
- 31:10Speaker 1: and Cream Hunt doing the Giants win this thing. Brian
- 31:13Speaker 1: Dable goes to the best story in the NFC. I
- 31:15Speaker 1: mean to be these are two bottom seven or eight
- 31:18Speaker 1: in the league teams and when like everyone's gonna pick
- 31:21Speaker 1: the Giants, and a week ago at this time, the
- 31:23Speaker 1: Giants would have been an underdog. Like that's I can't
- 31:25Speaker 1: see either of these teams being to a Oh and
- 31:28Speaker 1: I think McCaffrey will take advantage of those Giants linebackers
- 31:31Speaker 1: who really struggled a week ago covering Don Chrell Hilliard.
- 31:34Speaker 1: So I just don't trust this job. I'm not surprised.
- 31:36Speaker 1: You go contrarian. We don't we know that about that?
- 31:39Speaker 1: That's a great thing. How about Raiders Cardinals. You've got
- 31:41Speaker 1: the Raiders twenty so that's a nice comfortable We locked
- 31:46Speaker 1: him up on the podcast you know he's a top
- 31:51Speaker 1: ten NFL analysts. I like it. How could you not
- 31:55Speaker 1: be uncomfortable the state of the Cardinals when the team
- 31:58Speaker 1: that showed up in Week one looked just like the
- 32:00Speaker 1: team that finished out two thousand one in the playoffs
- 32:04Speaker 1: and down the stretch. So they they've entered now show
- 32:07Speaker 1: me something mode the Cardinals where I'm gonna think they're
- 32:09Speaker 1: gonna be a mess until they proved they're not the Raiders.
- 32:12Speaker 1: I thought that was a disappointing loss greg in Week
- 32:14Speaker 1: one against the Chargers, but they did hang around. They
- 32:16Speaker 1: were right in it to the end. I think they
- 32:18Speaker 1: get right. I'm with you on this. I think like
- 32:20Speaker 1: their offensive coaching staff will look at the Cardinals linebackers
- 32:24Speaker 1: and they'll like, go after Isaiah Simmons, go after Zaven Collins.
- 32:27Speaker 1: On defense, I think they're gonna blitz the heck out
- 32:29Speaker 1: of Kyler Murray. The communication was all wrong, like in Locks.
- 32:34Speaker 1: To me, it's more about picking against the team, and
- 32:36Speaker 1: we're just picking against the Cardinal. Picking against the Cardinals.
- 32:38Speaker 1: They look disorganized. To me, You're not gonna get three
- 32:40Speaker 1: terrible interceptions by Derek Carr this time. I think the
- 32:43Speaker 1: Raiders offense is gonna come out looking to lash a
- 32:45Speaker 1: really wanting secondary. By the way, like you can pretty
- 32:48Speaker 1: much lock these up because I went four no with
- 32:50Speaker 1: my picks with Omar last week. Dan four no, including
- 32:53Speaker 1: that Geno Smith upside, you'll be sure you're a hater.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Good job. Well, how about this Ravens Dolphins you seen?
- 33:01Speaker 1: I don't know if we'll be that close. This is
- 33:02Speaker 1: my lock of the week this week on the Around
- 33:04Speaker 1: the NFL pod cast. I think the Ravens here mark
- 33:07Speaker 1: are going to come out of that Week one against
- 33:10Speaker 1: the Jets a blowout wind and keep putting it on
- 33:12Speaker 1: an a FC East team. I'm not sold on that
- 33:14Speaker 1: Dolphins offense yet, despite a nice win against the Pets
- 33:17Speaker 1: and starts, do you like Miami's defensive front? I think
- 33:19Speaker 1: if you can make Lamar Jackson uncomfortable the way that
- 33:21Speaker 1: he was at times last year against the place yet maybe,
- 33:25Speaker 1: But this Week one, I think it depends if you
- 33:27Speaker 1: what happens with their backfield, because their running game was
- 33:30Speaker 1: not a power or strength last year or last week,
- 33:32Speaker 1: and that's been the case with them all along. To me,
- 33:34Speaker 1: I don't know. I think the Dolphins are a little
- 33:37Speaker 1: spicier than you seem to give him credit for. I
- 33:39Speaker 1: really do I think they. I didn't taste a lot
- 33:41Speaker 1: of spice in week right. I looked, and I you
- 33:43Speaker 1: know what I saw? I saw one level of two
- 33:45Speaker 1: a spice. So similar teams, great defenses, didn't have a
- 33:48Speaker 1: running game a week ago. Which quarterback do I trust
- 33:51Speaker 1: to pull it out? It's Lamar there thirteen points. By
- 33:55Speaker 1: the way Miami's offense scored a week one, they had
- 33:58Speaker 1: a defensive score there too. That's how they operate. All right,
- 34:01Speaker 1: there you go. We're excited for a week two. We
- 34:04Speaker 1: know you are as well. MS Lemon Yeah. NFL Now
