- 2:32Ned Slanders might have to be another design coming. I think Ned Slanders is
- 2:38pretty good. Yeah, Ned Flanders, I definitely rocking, Ned Slanders,
- 2:46Ned Flanders. What's he gonna say? The Lord is watching? Oh Man,
- 2:54speaking of the Lord is watching if you've been watching Lover Is Blonde,
- 2:58because no, I don't watch. I'm watching this ship. I watch Lloyd
- 3:05Have Mercy. That shit's amazing. I'm just like, all right. First
- 3:10of all, I've been saying this from like anyone who goes on a reality
- 3:14show. I did not believe for one second that you are looking for love.
- 3:17I believe that you are looking for a bag and a bag. You're
- 3:22looking for a bag and an opportunity. Yeah. I actually one time in
- 3:25my life, yo, I had. It was some liquor company back when
- 3:30I was in DC DJing. They did something where they followed DJ's around for
- 3:34a day. So I had like cameras following me around for like half a
- 3:37day, and I had to sit there and talk to the camera and it
- 3:38was like they have near a reality show for half a day. One of
- 3:43the most annoying days of my life. I can't imagine doing no ship like
- 3:47that every day For me out there, wild it out. You have to
- 3:51be used to it and learn how to literally tune out, tune out the
- 3:57cameras. I mean also, if you know, it's just like the people
- 4:00who are ready are a part of have had that lifestyle. They're used to
- 4:02that, and people who are have sociopath at Tennessees there you go something something
- 4:08ain't right because out there. But yeah, no, I'm thoroughly enjoying that.
- 4:15I cannot lie. You know. That's fulfilling my trash TV quotion right
- 4:19now because I don't have power. And you know I said this again,
- 4:25but I'm gonna say it again. I love power absolutely fully respect everything that
- 4:30everyone is doing over there, doing mea copas every week now, No,
- 4:34because it's like, I mean, people who know me know how much I
- 4:38watched the Living Ship out of this show. I don't want yeah, I
- 4:42don't want anyone to ever get it twisted for me to be like I'm down
- 4:45it because I love oh my god, and like that's the thing. I
- 4:48think. The writer's room over there is like amazing because they don't care about
- 4:53a lot of things. You know, It's like, what is the most
- 4:55dramatic, entertaining way to tell the story? Do it? You know what
- 4:59I mean, don't matter is it logical or whatever? Who gives a ship
- 5:02is it entertaining, Yes to do and so I love that man, you
- 5:06know, full e specive cats over there, and like, no spoilers,
- 5:10but the end of the latest season of Raising Kanan, Nigga almost tore my
- 5:13TV off the wall, nigga, Like I was like everything where everything's coming
- 5:21up fucking millhouse nigga, Like I was so happy because oh my god,
- 5:26that season was so annoying. Shout out to Ronnie for being the most one
- 5:29of the most annoying characters of all time. And yeah in the season,
- 5:32yeah that was wow, perfettion. Wow. So yeah, you know they're
- 5:39Raising Kanan is killing it. The ad thing, the writing and everything about
- 5:42I mean, it's ludicrous. They had a thirteen or ten year old girl,
- 5:46I don't know she was grown drowned in a bathtub, but you know
- 5:49what I mean, Hey, look, it can't happen because clearly has happened,
- 5:56you know, especially people, famous people. But it wasn't like,
- 5:59yeah, there was no lead up, there was no reasoning behind it,
- 6:00but you know it needed to happen, so so the man, so the
- 6:04dad could She was a plot device. She just was there to move the
- 6:06story for it, and the story nigga, it happened off screen. It
- 6:11was like one minute she's playing in the park. The next minute my man
- 6:15runs into the hospital. Yo, what happened? Oh she drowned the bathtub?
- 6:17Nigga? What that girl was grown? But who cares? It is
- 6:21fantastic. The plot needs to happen. The dad needs to commit so suicide
- 6:27by heroin overdose, you know what I mean? So his daughter got a
- 6:30drowned. Well that the heroin over those is on theme? I don't know.
- 6:33Yeah, well, I mean the bathtub had to happen, so the
- 6:35heroin and the overdose could happen. It's like, that's what I'm saying.
- 6:39What is the most strigger od, Yes, because it's it's you know,
- 6:45it's illogical. Yes, I can't. I mean, look, I mean
- 6:51she can't get over it. But because she's a minor part of this overall
- 6:57story, you know what I mean? Sorry, you know, things happen,
- 7:00don't Why bother her as a character like this is what I'm talking about.
- 7:02But she was always in the background. She was always a pot device,
- 7:06notty not my business. There you go. What I talked about real
- 7:12estate. You only got so much time. It's fine. I listened black
- 7:16pe Yo, black people got a successful show. I ain't gonna too,
- 7:21you know what I mean, it ain't like I know what I'm like,
- 7:24y'all got it? So yeah, I mean you knew when when I mentioned
- 7:27heroin overdose it had to be a white Sorry. I mean, this ain't
- 7:30like nineteen seventy five. You know, all right, we're moving away from
- 7:38nineteen nineties. You know, we were definitely smoking, cracking blunt. Sorry,
- 7:41you know, Jesus spook away from that. But uh, I don't.
- 7:46I'm not like a big reality show fan, Like I watched it,
- 7:48Like the only time I've watched it, like for a regular basis was like
- 7:51with my sister because she watches it all the time. I just can't get
- 7:56into it, Like I like, I'm like, I like, oh,
- 7:58well, that's not one hundred percent truth. I do watch housewives, Housewives,
- 8:01but that's it, but that's it. That's They got multiple seasons,
- 8:09but that's it, and even those are having made lately too. So yeah,
- 8:15well, the Love is Blind is on right now. The producers and
- 8:18the writing team on that show incredible because yeah, for a time, what's
- 8:24the show where they get married at first sight? For a time, especially
- 8:28during Pandemic A lot that was heavy, but all I would just get mad
- 8:33be like, you love that, nigga, this is stupid, like yelling
- 8:37at the team, and I know that's the whole point. But the whole
- 8:39point the reactions and they would see them at the altar every time with that
- 8:43show was just incredible. I like the reactions. I mean, and I
- 8:46know this is trifle, and I like the reaction when they was looking at
- 8:48them like damn, damn. Yeah, but Shorty, who are called up?
- 9:00Shorty who was talking about who cursed her? Man? Like, first
- 9:03of all, I thought dude was a gump until he started getting cursed out
- 9:07and he stood on business while he got cursed out, and then he bounced.
- 9:09And then I was like, yo, player, go live your life
- 9:13because Shorty's a psycho, she's sociopathic and you can do better. Fan,
- 9:18and y'all know, I'm talking about that clingy one, the one who thought
- 9:20that clingy shit. She was clinging. Yes, so we're not gonna find
- 9:22you on a reality show anytime soon. What was about your life? Man?
- 9:28Oh my god, that's the only problem I know. But like I
- 9:33say, what if Titan Publisher and say, hey, Ben, we're gonna
- 9:35do like a three part series about Hendricks and we're following you all. They
- 9:39do it for three weeks. Just make sure you give me from the right.
- 9:46I'm convinced that just by everyone in this world will be okay with that
- 9:52type of approaching treatment. Annoying, annoying or not. I just feel like
- 9:58people want that to be the star for the day. They want to be
- 10:00the main character. You gotta be bucked up. I don't like that.
- 10:03I've never I knew from a kid, I never I wanted to be a
- 10:09star, but not the main Like no, it's it's well, this is
- 10:16jod We're gonna get him something. I think that whole main character NPC thing
- 10:18is one of the strangest and most disturbing mentalities that people can have. Right,
- 10:24everyone is the main character. FA you're the main character of your own
- 10:26life, like nigga. You only get one of these, you think,
- 10:30and to consider another person a non player character is that's that's some dark ship,
- 10:35right, that's some white people. If it's done in a funny way.
- 10:37But see, it's not done in a funny way. People always think,
- 10:41what if it's done in a funny way. But nigga, anything can
- 10:43be done in a funny way and don't be disturbing. Like to consider somebody
- 10:46like you's been seeing some disturbing approach. I've seen it that hasn't been like
- 10:50in the comedic way. Oh no, oh no, too many. I
- 10:56see too many weird white people and we're gonna talk about them, you know,
- 11:01and not even just white people. I've just seen weird people. Because
- 11:03that's like, that's the whole thing, Like that's another thing we wanted up
- 11:05talking about with our last week episode and the X Men being woke and all
- 11:09that. But yeah, I just don't like that whole main player character,
- 11:13non player character, whatever. But onto other things. It's always you know,
- 11:16I wanted to be a DJ. I wanted to be a film director,
- 11:18writer, et cetera. I didn't want to be a rapper, you
- 11:22know what I mean. I made that conscious choice. It was like I
- 11:24wanted to be the dude who was like I'm always the wizard, you know
- 11:28what I mean. I want to be the man beside the throne. Yeah,
- 11:33like pulling the lever the scenes. Worm tongue that the nigga, you
- 11:39know, worm tongue is in Lord of the Rings. That's the thing.
- 11:45It was whispering the Lord of the Rings. That nigga grimy too, But
- 11:48yeah, definite finger little though in my head that just just came up him.
- 11:56But interesting. I mean, I would prefer to be not not so
- 11:58grim you. But you know what I mean, just like the No,
- 12:01I'm more to Merlin and then King Arthur. That's what I'd like to be,
- 12:03you know what I mean. I want to be to Merlin. I
- 12:05don't want to be the King like you're an important piece, but you not.
- 12:09I want to be You're not the melee character. You the I just
- 12:13want to cast spells, you know what I mean? Who doesn't want to
- 12:16have magic? You're a long range character. The long range support also could
- 12:20be offense at times, all schoody defense at times. You're very versatile.
- 12:24You're a very good character. I mean, what's a thrown to a warm
- 12:28nigga? You know what's the key to a god? You know? Jesus
- 12:33Christ? And now we deep in our RPG bag right now, and also
- 12:39get another hip hop reference. See how we did right there. I mean,
- 12:43that's amazing. This is incredible work. Speaking incredible work. Last week
- 12:48we dropped an episode where we were talking about the new X Men ninety seven
- 12:52which come out, and I didn't see this as much when we dropped episode.
- 12:56Otherwise I would have talked about this last week. But people were upset
- 13:01obviously, right one of the writers of MN ninety seven came out and said
- 13:05that his writing is or their writing is influenced by them being a black,
- 13:09gay person, and I was like, that's great. You know, you're
- 13:13writing should be influenced by who you are. You know, made sense.
- 13:18And for those who are slowing the uptake, X Men has always been out
- 13:22of control, wild, like let's go back to Chris Claremont when it like
- 13:26I say this all the time, X Men really defined a lot of the
- 13:30shit for me in sexuality, like seeing women dressed up in leather was like
- 13:33word that word, I'm sorry, you know, like the whole hell Fire
- 13:39Club aesthetic. I was like, you know, I liked that, you
- 13:43know, so that was what it was. And then like inferno havoc,
- 13:46like someone posted a picture about it, like with Madden, La Pryor and
- 13:50Habits got the boy toy outfit on and I was down that all was out
- 13:54of control. It was DSM all day and as a kid. I was
- 13:58crazy. I would be maddening Prius boy toy any day. You know,
- 14:03no problem, I got no problem with that role. It works. And
- 14:05so it's weird to me honestly to see all this. Oh my god,
- 14:11I get belief. But it's that's what happens that. I mean, there's
- 14:16so many people, right and normally I don't even pay that much attention,
- 14:20but I see, I know there's this one dude, the quartering who's you
- 14:22know, huge amount of followers, et cetera. Pure trash content. But
- 14:26that's how it goes. You know, you spit trash, you can get
- 14:28you know, there's a lot of garbage people in the world. You put
- 14:31out garbage darb people attracted to it, right, So there's that. And
- 14:35then, like I said, it's not just white dudes. I saw something
- 14:37black dude that count like right right, Well, you know that's the other
- 14:41thing. It's always woke. Well when people just want to say, niggas,
- 14:43let's keep it one hundred, keep it up, let's keep it up.
- 14:48But right one like, woke is a term that to me is for
- 14:52my youth, you know, Like it was a term that rappers used to
- 14:56say they woke, you know, and then it became a thing more of
- 14:58a joe, you know, like stay woke and or just whatever. You
- 15:03know, it's just a phraise. It's like yeah, good, Oh,
- 15:07I don't mean to cut you off, please continue, Okay, Now I
- 15:09was saying, like back in the day, you know, it's like it
- 15:11was a very thing. You know, it's like woke, Like rappers used
- 15:13have battles over it. You know, Oh you ain't woke, you know
- 15:16what I mean, you are woke, you know, you're not conscious wrap
- 15:18you're games the rap, you know. And it was a whole thing.
- 15:22And I remember the one person said, all my raps are conscious. I'm
- 15:26conscious while I'm making them, you know what I mean, Like everything I
- 15:28say is a conscious act. So it's this idea now where white people always
- 15:35want to come late to the party and not once again, not just white
- 15:37people racist idiots, boons, cornballs, you know all that the type of
- 15:43thing. Trodlydites, that's a great word for them, come into the party
- 15:46late and they want to take a term because they can't say nigga, you
- 15:50know, so they will say, oh, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 15:52You know, you go woke, you go broke. You know, basically,
- 15:54you put some niggas in your ship, you lose your money, yeah,
- 15:58or or whatever, you know they're hating on you know, gay,
- 16:02lesbian, l B G, t Q, you know whatever they want to
- 16:04throw down the toilet today. It's woke. Yeah, I mean, this
- 16:07is just a continuation of the centuries of columbus ing that has happened when it
- 16:15comes to the Calcazoids. And I'm not talking about all white people, y'all,
- 16:19to be very clear, I'm talking about very specific brand of There are
- 16:26white people who have sense. Thank y'all who listen to us, appreciate you
- 16:30that said. Yeah, those others again, long long, long history of
- 16:34columbusing, long history of I haven't heard. That's a great one. Yeah,
- 16:40columbusing, co opting and co opting, right, terrible, amongst other
- 16:45things. Right, like, oh and by columbuson you know what that means,
- 16:48right, saying I discovered this, this is you know, over the
- 16:53fade, and that's not what happened. And they can discovered it while faded,
- 16:59right right right. I will give him kudos though that he said,
- 17:03hey, no, I didn't do that, Like he made sure that they
- 17:06was like y'all, Y shouldn't put me in this conversation. But Columbus Travis
- 17:08Kelce, oh no, discovering the fade. I'm sorry. I was talking
- 17:14about Columbus discovering America while faded. Well, that's that Nigga is Nigga didn't
- 17:21discover ship but that being but he did do it while faded too. Yeah,
- 17:26sociopath. Yeah, Jesus Christ. Not only have they been co opting
- 17:32terms, they have bastardized our terms and our language. And when I say
- 17:37our, I'm specifically talking about black people as well as people color, but
- 17:41right now it's about black people and the culture that we bring and we are
- 17:47the culture of America, right, So they've often taken so many facets and
- 17:52again right now we're talking about language and just bascharded is to the sense that
- 17:56not only did it lose all meaning, but it becomes negative and thought,
- 18:00it becomes negative in practice and use. And it's also used for hatred perspective,
- 18:06right or a supremacy perspective, depending on which of your half a cup,
- 18:10half m be half full type person, whatever you want to say,
- 18:11but either way, they're both negative and it and to your point of like
- 18:18knowing what that term was like when I was coming up, it was using
- 18:21a sense of stay woke, like like older black people will be like,
- 18:25yo, you need to stay woke because like, you know, something going
- 18:27down over there, like be mindful, be understanding, like like you know
- 18:32how stuff goes down. And again I'm talking from a Black American experience.
- 18:36Whenever they would use that, they they meant the older black folks meant,
- 18:40you know, all you see the cops over there, and stay woke,
- 18:41be careful this, that and that. You know what I'm saying, understand
- 18:44where you're don't understanding your position, understand where you at, all that,
- 18:48all the experiences. Then it turned into this you know what I'm saying,
- 18:55And it's just it's just I mean, I've long been past you know how
- 18:59I like feeling it any type of way about this, But it's I've always
- 19:00found it so freaking bizarre and the way that right wingers and other people use
- 19:07this and continue to use it. And not only have they made it so
- 19:10negative and bassardized all that stuff, they made it whack, like having something
- 19:15like think about it, every time these things are grabbed by these people,
- 19:18they make it whack. Oh, yeah. Everything. We're always forced to
- 19:22abandon dope shit because of cornballs like that, Like we can't even say woke
- 19:26anymore because you know, idiots. And it's like the funny thing is,
- 19:30we weren't saying woke anymore, like I remember when, you know, like,
- 19:34yeah, we weren't even saying it, and that's what I'm saying.
- 19:36And I said, when I was hearing it, it was the older black
- 19:37folks saying it, so it was already going out of our eyes. And
- 19:44then it was like on Atlanta one time, Darius is eating Cyria out a
- 19:49cup and he's like, ooh, breakfast struck. And Earn's like, you
- 19:53just made that word up, and he's like, all words are made up.
- 19:56They woke. You know. It was used like that, you know,
- 19:59like yeah, yeah, I mean that was a great line. All
- 20:02words are made up, they woke, you know. But think about it.
- 20:04Be mindful, like yeah, be mindful. Yeah, it doesn't mess
- 20:08something very much. And it also, and again Black American perspective, it
- 20:12meant what you said, like it was very to me. It was very
- 20:15clear to definition, whereas now it means whatever the nigga means, it means,
- 20:19it means like it around. These niggas is around. That's what I
- 20:23mean. Whenever you see somebody say woke, it means these niggas is around.
- 20:26Like that's all there is to it. Like, you know, niggasi
- 20:30always be the most hated things in the world and the most loved. So
- 20:33you know, it's all we're always first on the list. You know.
- 20:37That's like, let's lingo, let's be clear. That's the other thing.
- 20:41Let's be clear, because you can have gay white men in the dance all
- 20:44day, but when you bring some you know, it becomes a different dance.
- 20:48Like, so let's be yeah. So yeah, short story, long
- 20:55short story is that I really want some more smoke too, because I feel
- 20:57like we don't get enough smoke. Would you like some more? Would you
- 21:00like some more? Angry comments, Well, it's only you who's gonna get
- 21:04them, and people got says say to me, yeah, I would definitely
- 21:07like some more. I mean, I'll block more people, you know,
- 21:08et cetera, et cetera. Do you know what it is? But I
- 21:11just really I'm really tired of like the fact that these people get to exist
- 21:15out there and you know, like and get to just spit this bullshit and
- 21:22get away with it, you know. And it's really just tiring fan because
- 21:26we put out this great content, this amazing work. We do the work
- 21:30week after week, and people just sit here and stay dumb shit like,
- 21:34oh my good, it's I saw the screenshot of some clown. You know,
- 21:38you've got to handle the face. It's been ninety seven. We will
- 21:41And he's like, you got a million ass views and it say Jesus price,
- 21:45So yeah, please let them know at me with some of these clowns,
- 21:48you know, whoever, so you can say this nigga is stupid.
- 21:52Please and you know, And because obviously because this is not coming into my
- 21:56for you pages or in my my algorithm, I'm not seeing that. The
- 22:00ones that I'm seeing are the stupid shit like oh, x men, what
- 22:04they took away rogues ass as? Oh that was great. I saw that.
- 22:08I was just like what But that was the worst of it that I
- 22:11saw. So I'm like, no, No, there's a whole nother level
- 22:15to this shit. Like I say, like I saw a quartering. I
- 22:19know it's like geeks and I don't want to get anybody's name. I know
- 22:23one of the bigger try I checked them out this week just to make sure
- 22:26is the quartering. But there's a million other of these clowns. I remember
- 22:30I was talking to Frankie and Fanboy Fighter and she was explaining to me some
- 22:36of these negroes who stay attacking her, you know, for whatever she ever
- 22:41says. My other brother, I can't remember my man's name off top,
- 22:47but a coma book writers put me on to this whole thing going on with
- 22:49this. Uh, there's all these like black comic book writers who are on
- 22:55their very I don't want to say hotel, but cornball bullshit is basically what
- 23:00I'll call it, you know, very you know, like we're black and
- 23:03proud, but you know, very maleish. You know, I got you
- 23:07come from the time when hotel is something different. But I'm going to say
- 23:11hotel. Let's talk about the evolution of terminology, right, this is sill
- 23:14in the black community. Their hoteps, Yeah, they are the period and
- 23:18so yeah, it's just like it's really annoying, man, because like good
- 23:22people get attacked, and a lot of people get attacked who aren't like me,
- 23:25who don't give a fuck, you know what I mean, and who
- 23:26will see people in the street, you know, So I like embarrassing people.
- 23:30That's why I said, I don't I don't know if y'all people are
- 23:33afraid of me. People are definitely afraid of me. Because people say I'm
- 23:37afraid of you. They're afraid of you because they know you can't get to
- 23:44them. They knew you can physically get to them. It might be different,
- 23:47no, but see, that's why they I know they're afraid of me
- 23:48because they say so much things online. I always say that people are staring
- 23:52talking online. I don't talk much online. I'll be like this, you
- 23:55know, you know where I'm at. Yeah, he said, meet me
- 23:59in some macula. I'm like, I'm going to be at New York Comic
- 24:00cond this year. I'm going to be at San Diego Comic Con this year.
- 24:03I'm going to be I definitely. I wanted to be an Emerald City,
- 24:07but that's like this weekend and my book ain't out yet, So I
- 24:11said, I'm gonna be everywhere. Yeah, Sunday, Sunday sun Yeah.
- 24:17On that note, pre order Jimmy Hendrix Ye Purple Hayes from your favorite comic
- 24:23bookstore bookstore if you have to. You know it's on Amazon. You can
- 24:27go directly to Tighten Comics and order it straight off of their website, Tighten
- 24:33Publishing. You know, you type in Jimmy Hendricks Purple Haze, Tighten Publishing,
- 24:37it pops right up right now, Yeah, and it pops right up.
- 24:41It's beautiful. It's so beautiful to see available July thirtie. If we
- 24:44will be like I just said, I would be at San Diego Comic Con
- 24:48along with my brother mellow Marketer. We are going to be out there.
- 24:51Just secured a residency today. In fact, if you're looking for a DJ,
- 24:55I'd love the DJ San Diego Comic Con or you know in La around
- 25:00tom July thirtieth, August. I'll be out there a whole probably out there
- 25:03week or so. So can people pre order on what their local comics book
- 25:07shops? Oh? Yesterday, damn sure? Can they explain how that works?
- 25:11Explain that process, how that works, give us people to understanding what
- 25:14do you do? Okay, I'm walking to anyone comments of Brooklyn, Now
- 25:17what you'd been like? What up Dmitri? And then Demetrio say some smart
- 25:19at shit to you because that's how Dmitri does. But he's awesome. So
- 25:23then you tell Dmitri when you tell Dimitri that you want to order Jimmy Hendris
- 25:29Purple Hates, He's going to give you another smartest answer, like, oh,
- 25:32that's the sequel to Kit Cutty's book, right, that's his latest friendly
- 25:37joke. Shout out to Cutty. He got a comic book out, Shout
- 25:44out to him. I love Intergalact to the animation, so you know,
- 25:45shout out to them. And so yeah, No, when you walk into
- 25:49your local comic book shop, it doesn't have to be anyone comments. Go
- 25:52to the manager or whoever you know, hold your books for you. Usually
- 25:56if you know how to do this. If you don't, it doesn't matter,
- 25:57right, Listen, you don't. That's much people. You don't know
- 26:00anything. You've never been in a comic book shop in your life. Walk
- 26:04in the door, Yes, go to the register. Okay, hey,
- 26:07I would like to pre order Jimmy Hendricks Purple Haze by DJ Bet. I
- 26:11mean, okay, Tighten Comics. They'll look it up, they'll get the
- 26:15code. They'll hold you one copy of it. Usually they't make you they
- 26:19don't make you pay for it till you know it comes in and they'll hold
- 26:22your copy. And usually most Commabu shop for will offer you something for holding
- 26:29books ahead of time. That's what they call it, you know, like
- 26:30holding, but there could be a folder so you while you're there you can
- 26:33pick up some other stuff. I would definitely recommend The Oddly Pedestrian Life of
- 26:37Chrystopher Chaos. I'm in love with that book right now. Comic Psychicon,
- 26:42Oh my god, that sh it's so good. X Men is doing great
- 26:45things right now as it's wrapping it up. But you can order these books,
- 26:48hold them together. Jimmy Hendrix comes out in July into July. Then
- 26:52you go back to your comic book store and endo July July thirtieth, and
- 26:56they'll have it sitting there waiting for you. Boom. It's the comic book
- 27:00store. It benefits you, benefits me, it benefits everyone in this whole
- 27:04ecosystem, because that's how you know. The companies know how many to publish,
- 27:11I mean press up from pre ordering. Stores need to know how many
- 27:15to order so to have them in stock. So when you walk in the
- 27:18door, you're like, yo, can I get Jimmy Hendris And they're like,
- 27:19nah, nobody pre ordered that joint, so we ain't got no more
- 27:22copies. You know what I mean. But when they know that, like
- 27:25you know, twenty people pre ordered, then they'll order like thirty because they're
- 27:27like, oh, this is a hot book, so gotcha need some more
- 27:30copies? It is gotcha? Okay, So kind of killing two words of
- 27:33one stone, go on the local route, don't have that option or whatever
- 27:37the case may be. Then you can always go online to the Titan Comic
- 27:41site, right and then do it do it digitally or do your reservation digitally
- 27:47on the other places. And shout out to fourth Wall, my brother fourth
- 27:51Wall. I was on his podcast this week. I think it will be
- 27:55out by the time you hear this, by the time you hear our episode.
- 27:59I don'tunderstand sure, but you'll see it will be posted all on Socials
- 28:03and I talked all about writing and their processed and coming up with Jimmy Hendrix
- 28:07for Mellow and with Tom and with Justin the artist, and I just want
- 28:11to say, man, this is like one I'd love to do more interviews
- 28:15and talk about this. I don't care if your podcast got one listener,
- 28:19hit me up dog at DJ Ben. I mean on Socials, let's talk,
- 28:23you know what I mean? DM yeah, DM me yeah, get
- 28:26at me dog, shout out to d man. It's all the rest of
- 28:29peace today. Oh yeah, yeah, I know man, you know,
- 28:33you know you forget like you know that d Ain't here no more. You
- 28:36know that Dove you know from daylight and here no more. But you know
- 28:40they legends, So always keep them in our hearts. And that's another thing.
- 28:44That's what Hindrids is about you. That's it's like I won that.
- 28:47Let me finish that, Senutce. That's what Hindreds is about. The love
- 28:51for black music. Fam Like that is like it's not just about Jimmy Hendrix,
- 28:55Like it's a story about Jimmy Hendrix. But the story that I was
- 28:59telling, and I said this on the show is it's on his show is
- 29:03about the love of black music. That's one of the things. And then
- 29:07like the main theme of one of the main themes is Hendricks his shirts to
- 29:12find his blackness again, to refine his blackness, to recenter himself in blackness.
- 29:18It's one of the main themes of this book. And doing so,
- 29:22we explore explore black music. And it's like theories and ideas that I've had
- 29:26about black music for my whole life that I got to put in this book.
- 29:30So one, that's what I was saying, I'd love to do any
- 29:33interviews. And two it's so wild to me doing interviews and talking about this
- 29:38book, and now that it's actually about to come out, and it's getting
- 29:42realer and realer, you know, it's the day's little closer. It's I
- 29:45was saying this before fall, because you know, like Mellow has done a
- 29:48bunch of projects. Now he's had TV scripts produced all this thing. This
- 29:52is really my first joint that I've seen to completion. Like I've had a
- 29:56ton of scripts grow all the way up to where and people are about to
- 30:00sign them off and then you know, now never mind. Yeah, So
- 30:03I've been through all kinds of different stages in Hollywood, but I've never seen
- 30:07something where people are gonna have it in thereas be able to read it,
- 30:10appreciate it, you know, not like it, love it all the in
- 30:15between, argue about it, talk about it, and so these are It's
- 30:19so interesting to me, So please pre order this book. It means the
- 30:23world. It means more than the world. Man. Like I did a
- 30:26post this week and I got all these comments from people like people I ain't
- 30:30talked to in years, honestly, because you know how to Instagram, Social
- 30:33be fucking you up, Like you don't see people forever, and so it's
- 30:37like all the people I ain't seen forever and they're like, Yo, this
- 30:38is amazing, this is and it's just it's so wild because I'm on the
- 30:45inside looking out, you know, and I've just been through this whole creative
- 30:48process. I was talking about this. I just made a tweet about it
- 30:52because I produced a new beat today and it's like, you know, you
- 30:55think of an idea, then you struggle and then it's out there and it's
- 30:59dope. But well, like, at least that beat I know is dope,
- 31:03but Hendreds, I'm still waiting on feedback, you know what I mean.
- 31:04So it's it's in this real interesting place right now. I just want
- 31:10to say that I have the best interview with you of all time. Yeah,
- 31:15but we gotta do another one. Yeah, we got we gotta do
- 31:17another one. I was thinking about that we got to do one where it's
- 31:18like, for real, I'm at the like, guests on the show might
- 31:22have to be you and Chico or something, and me and Mello have to
- 31:25come on, like we guessed you know what I mean, like for real
- 31:26and really do it right? Okay, yep, I'm there. Yeah?
- 31:33What else? What you got real? You got real emotional there? Do
- 31:36you need a break? No, It's just like that. It's really crazy
- 31:41to me. It's like, you know, doing that interview like I know
- 31:42you had, but that was like last year when we thought it was coming
- 31:45out and then it didn't, and so now it's like, no, this
- 31:48is it, Like July thirtieth, it is in the world. You know.
- 31:52I booked my tickets to San Diego Comic Con, like all these crazy
- 31:55things have happen, Like I've never been to, say, Gego Comic Con,
- 31:57and I'm gonna have a big ass part already at it. You know.
- 32:00Talk about this book like shit is wild. Yo. It's like,
- 32:07you know, I hit up somebody today, a big time you know friend
- 32:12who works in the industry, and was like, yoah, I want to
- 32:14you know. They're like, yeah, let's start, and I'm like,
- 32:16you know, and now I got something where I can be like boom,
- 32:20well this is my first work here, you know, and I really fucking
- 32:23believe in this shit, man, And the more I talk about it,
- 32:25the more I think about it, the more I see from it, I'm
- 32:28like, no, it's really something, So yeah, it's real, Ben,
- 32:31And I'm just happy what you said earlier about this is the first thing
- 32:36you've ever seen come all the way to fruition. So I'm just really I'm
- 32:39just really happy for you to see like this happened, you know what i
- 32:43mean, Like this is this is unprecedented, So yeah, thank you.
- 32:47And you've been you know, and it's like we've been on the show,
- 32:51doing the show for years and we've been through up and downs and all these
- 32:53different journeys and all these different places we've been, and it's like this is
- 32:59all part of it, and this is crazy, all part of the journey.
- 33:04It's freezing. Let's take a quick break. Okay, we'll take a
- 33:10quick break right here and we'll be right back. We're more from the For
- 33:14All Nerds show, And while we're on this break, make sure you go

- 34:47that's right. Oh YouTube, that's right. I did have something to say
- 34:50about YouTube. Shut off YouTube man. The YouTube comments ipes. They are
- 34:54always like the most extreme, Like that's where we get there, you know,
- 34:58that's where people just don't give old fucks. Just like you said,
- 35:00they don't think they ever gonna see me, you know, on YouTube,
- 35:02and they're probably right. You know, I won't say their mama's basement and
- 35:06their mama broke, you know, going to Topeka, Kansas to go beat
- 35:09down somebody. Come on, I can't say your mama's basement when your mama
- 35:13live in a trailer, you know what I mean, Like she ain't got
- 35:15no basement. Fan, I don't know where you at, but I mean,
- 35:21I'm just cheaping and real. Somebody comes on there this week and said
- 35:24some shit about this show sucks. I only cliped. Wait, they only
- 35:31uh, they used the word roar. I can't remember what word. You
- 35:37know, their grammar was incorrect there obviously, you know, the third grade
- 35:40getting kicked out of third grade, you know, didn't work out for them.
- 35:44They saw a pretty picture. No, they only clipped because I said
- 35:47woke as fuck in the title, and they told me, one of them,
- 35:52one of them, they thought exactly what it was. They thought that
- 35:58we were well, I don't know if they know, you're right. He
- 36:00thought we were right. I don't know which one it is because they're too
- 36:06dumb to get it right. Because when I'm saying woke as fun, I'm
- 36:07saying we are woke, but they might have thought that. You know,
- 36:10we were dissing X men ninety seven yea for being woke as fuck. Yes,
- 36:15that's obvious what it was. Well that works either way. Thanks for
- 36:17the clip, you know what I mean? And the clip make worth on
- 36:20Eugenius, Like that's the thing. I don't give a fuck, you know
- 36:23what I mean, Like please, you know, bring the heats my fam
- 36:28because like you're not gonna do nothing to me, like, and let's be
- 36:34for real, if you start doing anything, I know, people fail,
- 36:40you know, like I sit here in the smile on my face. No,
- 36:45no, no, no, I don't make that. I make promises,
- 36:46you know what I mean. I'm just saying, like, if people
- 36:49ever wanted to make things like you know, can people start doing weird things
- 36:52online? I won't even give people ideas, but you know, people get
- 36:55weird and you know where it becomes more than need to block you. Trust
- 37:00me, I will do more than block you. I didn't say that.
- 37:06Someone else said that we're gonna put someone else's face on your face, said
- 37:09that we're going to AI it out allegedly allegendly. I just love it when
- 37:17people come in with the silly comments like that, so please please bring more
- 37:21of them. Yes, yes, yes, you know the shows blah blah
- 37:27blah. I don't care, bro, thank you. You know what I
- 37:30mean. Ain't got no basement. Let's talk about something more positive and more
- 37:37interesting. Let's talk about the fact that, and it dependent when you watch
- 37:42this, will not watch when you watch listen to this. It's going to
- 37:45be out. Avatar the Last Airbender, the live add that action adaptation is
- 37:50going to be on Netflix. People have said, some people have been saying
- 37:54really good things about it. I like earlier on but I heard smoke.
- 38:01Well, but that's because the original people aren't involved in it. Yeah,
- 38:06or stop being involved in it at their time because created differences. And we'll
- 38:08get the tea on that soon, yes soon, hopefully what exactly happened.
- 38:14But but it looked, it looks pretty. It looked pretty from jump,
- 38:19it looked like it had some sense. It didn't look like that that bullshit
- 38:22that came out many years back. So I you know, and I'm a
- 38:27big Avatar friend. So I was always rooting for it, and now that
- 38:30the time has come, I'm like, let's fucking go. And then I
- 38:32had told you earlier, reminded me like we actually interviewed Von Chapman back in
- 38:37May twenty twenty two. Who's playing Kiyoshi. I don't know how many it's
- 38:42only showing hers on there for two episodes. Maybe maybe could be more,
- 38:45who knows, but probably more right. But but you know, she like,
- 38:50if you want a real quick listen, like before you watch the show,
- 38:52you want to listen to that to see what she had to say,
- 38:54because we asked her some questions about her role and about the whole process with
- 38:59filming AVACGE, So it might be good to listen to that, get some
- 39:01background and like see if some of the stuff she says actually comes to fruition
- 39:06when we watch the actual shows. This is out. So I'm I'm gonna
- 39:09do that. I'm gonna see, you know, something she said or hinted
- 39:13that is actually done in the show. I think that would be cool to
- 39:15be like, ah, you know, we had that insight so many years
- 39:17ago, two years ago, but you know, like I I again,
- 39:22I feel like this keeps happening, like we've had all these we keep having
- 39:25all these amazing guests, amazing creators on like and we are fortune tellers and
- 39:30we say, hey, man, this what's gonna happen in two three years?
- 39:34And then it happens, right, and it's just like, oh shit,
- 39:36we've been talked about it. So I thought that was interesting. Oh
- 39:38yeah, and beyond that, like we had to post some clips from that
- 39:42interview because I don't know if you remember, but that was a really great
- 39:45interview, like just so interesting, so many jewels. She has this really
- 39:50great story about perseverance and about working in this industry, and she's an amazing
- 39:55person. Man, I want to see nothing but her, So like,
- 39:59yeah, we're gonna post some clips from that joint definitely because it's it was
- 40:02a fire interview. She was sitting outside. It was there, like the
- 40:07end the pandemic. So she was like outside and we're inside. She was
- 40:09right, No, she was in l A. L It was nice.
- 40:14It was like really nice outside. I feel like that it was l A
- 40:17And we were like saying that here in Nicole. No, I know it.
- 40:22It was like that. It was like it was so it was to
- 40:24be warm enough. Oh true, Well it was. I remember she looked
- 40:31like, you know, having the best day ever, and I was like,
- 40:34you know, I don't live in l A's what it was. I
- 40:37don't live in l A anymore. Well watch that if y'all just google Yvon
- 40:43Chapman, four ow nerds will come back. That YouTube interview will come up
- 40:46and we'll definitely ask some clips. Hmm. Absolutely. Also, Ben,
- 40:52I found out some interesting news Mark bernardin he is going to be joining Sean
- 40:57Martin bro who's going to be drawing for Anan Sea Boy. So it's a
- 41:01novel by Neil Gamon that they're gonna be turning into a comic from Darkhor's Comics.
- 41:07It drops June twenty six for an eight issue mini series. Yep.
- 41:10And that was a sequel, semi sequel or not very sequel, but it's
- 41:14related to obviously to American Gods, his first novel, which you know I
- 41:17have a personal relationship with, you know, might have done some things with
- 41:21that at one point in time. Man, it's like a lifetime ago.
- 41:23Mmmah, you know, things happen, so yeah, you know, shout
- 41:28out to marking them or do we need to talk to Orlando joneson see how
- 41:31he feels about this. I doubt it, I said, because I'm involved
- 41:36in that, you know how he feels about it? Tight? Oh,
- 41:42because look, I doubt he's going to be involved. I mean I would
- 41:45like to see him on the series that they're doing as well. But yeah,
- 41:49yeah there and on top of this comic book, they're also they're already
- 41:52out of adapting this to TV for Amazon. So as a serious and you
- 41:58know, I don't know a lot of details about it, but I would
- 42:00like to know some more tea, and I would like to know that Orlando's
- 42:02involved in it, because if he ain't, that's a damn shame. I
- 42:05mean, I mean, I don't. You don't do John Wick movies without
- 42:12John Wick, right, like you know, I mean actually they're about to,
- 42:16right, that's wrong. Yeah, they about to do the comment or
- 42:19without that nigga mm hmm. Man man, Yeah, you know, things
- 42:24happened for him. Shout out to Orlando though, you know, stay working,
- 42:29stay woke, right, I mean stay working and stay woke. I
- 42:31mean that man does both. So you know exactly, Okay, what else
- 42:36been you've been watching? Ben Staples, He's like, you know, definitely
- 42:39the rebuttal to the idea of go woke. You know, you go broke
- 42:43and that man's paid, and he'd be talking nothing but ship. So Vince
- 42:47Table show speaking of paid and talking another but ship shout out defense. You
- 42:52know we talked about this last week. You know, just a great dude,
- 42:54great rapper, great artists, great everything. Have you finished the series?
- 42:58No, because I'm taking my time because I didn't realize last week there's
- 43:01only five fucking episodes. Damn mad short, So no, I'm actually gonna
- 43:07rewatch I'm now have Fuck, I think I got one more, maybe two.
- 43:15Damn, I think I only got one enough. So I'm gonna rewatch
- 43:17four because I really enjoyed four and there's some weird shit in it that I
- 43:22wanted to confirm if what I thought they were saying happened at an episode,
- 43:25So I want to rewatch that one. But yeah, I'm enjoying it.
- 43:29I'm just I'm more tight than it's only five that that's that was my more.
- 43:32Well, you know how they do, you know how Netflix do?
- 43:35Like, I mean the fact that he even got this shot in the first
- 43:37trees, you know, and it's like a test for them. They just
- 43:42want to see that how It's Gonna go Atlanta had a longer season than five
- 43:45first first season, they didn't episodes ahead at least eight the definitely over there,
- 43:50maybe at least eight. Yeah, but I don't I don't expect much
- 43:52out of nothing. Netflix to be like, here's a do something with it.
- 44:00I don't know, bro, And then what is his whole family and
- 44:02the just stuff? Uh? Ten seasons? Ten episodes first season? Okay,
- 44:09that Netflix? But wasn't he backed by then? He have? Like?
- 44:15Did not? Am I imagining that? No? I'm not going to
- 44:17say who I thought was back in, but I think it's whoever was backing
- 44:22him helped push that right. I wanted to say, what's his name?
- 44:29Was? Know? Donald g Lover, Paul Simms, and Diane mcgubbell were
- 44:32executive producers because I thought, what's the name of it all? But that
- 44:35ain't it? Uh So No, and I don't know who Diane and Paul
- 44:39Simms. Maybe he'd a big dog Paul Simms and Diane Nick mcgonag Sanders shows
- 44:49been there since nineteen sixty six, older dude Late Night and Dave even let
- 44:52him and yeah, he done some stuff, but not like you know he
- 44:54and the super Dog, but Atlanta made him a super dog, so who
- 44:59knows? Who knows what it was? Probably Donald Buffer accommodation of things.
- 45:01But yeah, could you could have given Evince more than five? And I'm
- 45:06hoping that people watching it and it gets the second season, et cetera,
- 45:07et cetera, it gets longer, you know, order for the second season,
- 45:10because out of the ones I've seen, I think it well deserves it,
- 45:15Like I really so far. Yeah, I'm really liking it. Yeah,
- 45:19yeah, I would like him to have more space because again we said
- 45:21it, we mentioned it before that just really loved Vince in terms of his
- 45:24creativity and everything that he does, Like he drops some really good he just
- 45:29drops good quality shit, like it's funny, it is engaging, is entertaining,
- 45:31all that stuff. So I want to give him to get more space
- 45:35to keep going. Yeah, and then Dave got way more episodes than that
- 45:38for a first one. But you know why, I mean, we know
- 45:40why you know them crackers look I like that, as somebody said in her
- 45:49Common Tube But the only reason that I love Dave is because of Gata,
- 45:52Like without him, that show would be you know, I don't know mid
- 45:58is what I would say, Yeah, pretty big. Maybe gatas Gata is
- 46:00obviously intrinsic to that show. I also like weird, and again it was
- 46:05basically Atlanta with with the white rapper with white and and I already liked the
- 46:09Atlanta format, so I was fucking with Dave regardless. So I was fucking
- 46:15with it. But it was more that was annoying to me because it was
- 46:16like, damn, like you say Columbus and you know, ship like Nigga
- 46:20ain't even finished Atlanta. Niggas are already out here. You know, here's
- 46:23my white version of it. And I don't know, influential, influential form
- 46:30of flattery. No, no fuck out here. And that's that's funny thing.
- 46:34I thought about this the other day, right, like, if if
- 46:37you're a white rapper who sounds like a white rapper, no, a black
- 46:43rapper who's already successful, you are going to be ten times as successful and
- 46:49like ten times paid when it's all said and done, because Attioning Bronson,
- 46:53ghost face killer year old Drew Knos Dave every nine he's freestyle rapper ever,
- 47:02massive success for all these cats while the people they imitate, you know,
- 47:07some success. Well yeah, I would argue, I don't think he's had
- 47:10massive success musically, Dave, but yeah, that was huge and what year
- 47:17is that? That's all you need that, you know, that's what got
- 47:22them Dave? You know what I mean? That's like I understand that's what
- 47:24he is. But I'm just saying as far as like a musical force,
- 47:29I wouldn't put him in that cat But he's coming back with a new album
- 47:31now that I would love to hear it. That's great, I wouldn't,
- 47:35you know, But that's that's rude Musically. I will never funk with him
- 47:43because of that. Ship like that Chris Brown Strong, because he does ship
- 47:45like that where he gets away, where he gets away with saying the N
- 47:47word, you know what I mean like that. I don't funk with that.
- 47:51And I don't funk with white rappers who sound like you know what I
- 47:54mean, like Dave sound like a you're not you're not old enough to remember
- 48:00the flow he does. That's the every Dave does. The most basic Dippy
- 48:06Dippy is somebody flow, not like he has like a black center or anything.
- 48:09No, no, you don't have to do that. No, it's
- 48:10just like Ashan Bronston ain't got no black sent but he sounds like ghost fits
- 48:14Taylor, you know, but he's he's a white version of it, you
- 48:16know what I mean. There's no denying that astioning Bronson, like ghost Face,
- 48:20had to address the man at one point, you know, like your
- 48:23Old Drew who I used to DJ for for a second. When he first
- 48:27came around, people was like, yo, this They thought it was NAS
- 48:30because he didn't put no pictures or nothing. It was just an album of
- 48:32an EP four songs, your Old Drew until people thought it was some weird
- 48:37NAS name, oh like a secret name or something. Yeah, because that's
- 48:39how because it sounds like young Nas, you know what I mean. So
- 48:44people are like, oh, this is something like he might be old Demos
- 48:46or some shit. And he rode that wave until he you know, got
- 48:51a little and then oh no, it's your old Drew, you know.
- 48:52But eventually he gonna have a TV show too, because he you know,
- 48:57it's how it works. Damn yeah, I tell you this theory problem my
- 49:00head. The other day, I'm like, Wow, that's amazing because Ash
- 49:02Bronson has like got twenty different eating shows, you know what I mean.
- 49:07Like musically, he never was that popping, like you said, and that
- 49:09man turned that ship into like fifteen different shows on because you can be successful
- 49:14all the ways, but when you're white, it comes. Yeah, word
- 49:23the fuck, Dave though, you know what I mean. I love Gaeta,
- 49:27but yeah whatever, And that second second second season finale was incredible,
- 49:31but that was because of Gaeta and the writing. Yeah yeah, all right,
- 49:37oh my god, that second season finale and that music comes up when
- 49:44Uni comes out and Data's performing with him, that ship was like that was
- 49:47a fucking moment, you know what I mean. So like that's I mean,
- 49:52great things can come out of you know, Columbuson Sadly the shout out
- 50:00to Vince Stables. Make sure I'll watch that, you know, because he
- 50:04is doing his own version of Atlanta, but you know, at least it's
- 50:07a black man doing it, so please, And once again, you know,
- 50:15childish Donald ain't doing Atlanta no more. So you know, black man
- 50:16should be doing it, should be doing another version of that because he because
- 50:21he's doing other things. That's what I'm saying. I finished, mister and
- 50:23missus Smith. Yeah, so I mean you said it, Nah, it's
- 50:34you're not gonna recommend it no more. It's entertaining. That's the thing.
- 50:37I definitely thought it was entertaining all the way through. I thought his character
- 50:43in particular turned into a base idiot, so the plot can happen, like
- 50:46I mean, just a pure idiot. Both of them match. See mister
- 50:51and missus Smith are pretty stupid, so the plot can happen, you know,
- 50:53and especially during the finale episode where it's and they're involved in such a
- 50:58dangerous life. Definitely to be this stupid, you know yo Angelina and what's
- 51:05what's his face? Was not stupid, but this is still a lot more.
- 51:08It was silly. Ship happened stupid. No, it wasn't stupid,
- 51:13but it was more. The tone was different. This is much to It
- 51:15was different. Isn't this serious? You know? This is dark? That's
- 51:20what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. This show supposed to be more
- 51:22more serious. Like some ship happened in that final episode that I did not.
- 51:27You know, I haven't seen that type of ship happen, you know,
- 51:30in film and TV. It just doesn't regularly happen. That's all I
- 51:34can say. Like it was that, Yeah, it was like niggas don't
- 51:37be you know, niggas will kill a lot of things on screen, right,
- 51:40and you know what I'm talking about, right, but there are certain
- 51:43things you won't see get murdered on screen. And you see it. Yeah,
- 51:46you see this get murdered on the screen. I was like, ike,
- 51:52so there, just like no, we're not around here. But so
- 51:57what it doesn't stick the landing at the end, I mean, you know,
- 52:00it is such a it's such a like one watching that season to see
- 52:06what happens. Know, it's weak as fam I can't I can't like watching
- 52:15it up until the very end. It was just like, oh my god.
- 52:19And it was one of them like, yeah, I watched the net
- 52:22season, but your characters over the first season have not made me want to
- 52:28give a ship. You know, Donald lovers break and Shorty is pretty good.
- 52:32She's great too, because they ain't working with much, you know what
- 52:36I mean. That's how I feel like they're both really good because he wrote
- 52:38it too. Yeah, it's like it's light and then and then these niggas
- 52:45like and then these niggas act like idiots. That's like it's light on their
- 52:49relationship. There's there's one good episode where they go to a therapist and they
- 52:52have talked through their relationship. That was very dope. Like I said,
- 52:53it's dope. The guest spots, all the guests as are dope. The
- 52:59writing is pretty solid. It's just they turned into pure idiots, like right
- 53:04towards the ending. And you can excuse some of that by emotion stuff,
- 53:07but it's also more like that plot needed to have and like when you you
- 53:10know, when you start getting to that, why did you do this with
- 53:14the block? It happened. It's famously said by Pitch Meeting on YouTube.
- 53:19Shout out to pitch Meeting, like it's yeah that when you start getting into
- 53:22that territory, it's like and like I said that, the cliffhanger ending was
- 53:27so like yeah, like that's the thing. Like the next season is trying
- 53:35to either start with super easy barely in inconvenience or they're dead and there is
- 53:39no net season. I know my man I was in the Scars Guards in
- 53:45this Okay, which one he's he's He's credited as man one episode, Yeah,
- 53:52everybody's in one episode. The Eric Norman Paul Dano's in three episodes.
- 53:59Yeah, yep, Er Norman from True Blood, right correct? Hell Boys
- 54:05and hell Boys in one episode. Yeah, hell boy, I remember when
- 54:08the fun was it was literally his his his character's name is Man, a
- 54:14man. When the fun was he I remember we used on a I don't
- 54:16remember when he was in this show. It says mister missus Siss went twenty
- 54:22four. I was in a scarguard credited as Man one episode. I have
- 54:28to google an image that I don't remember. Will this. I love Mikayla,
- 54:34beautiful, Mikayla, Mickayla Cole bubbah. Yeah, yeah, she's great,
- 54:38great, great, Yeah. And most people are in it for one
- 54:40episode, you know, due to the nature of the show. Gotcha.
- 54:44Oh damn. I didn't even thing about it like that. It is a
- 54:51show. I wasn't thinking. There's a lot of one hit wonders and god
- 54:57damn goes on like I'm fucking scrolling still about a lot of one episode.
- 55:04Yeah, they working the delivery man, they're working the no no, no
- 55:07no. A lot of people are just there for you know, you know,
- 55:12background, Yeah, background, the work in Chinatown. More worker what's
- 55:15his name is up in the joint. He he don't get murked. The
- 55:20the Riddler, I said, yeah, I gotta see he's in three though.
- 55:25Yeah he star man, mister Smith. I gotta see an image.
- 55:37Oh my god. Okay, so that's disappointing to hear. But like I
- 55:42said, I'm still watching it because people have said it, including you,
- 55:45have said that they enjoyed it. So you know, I don't. Maybe
- 55:50you don't recognize him. Fans trying Foula has three minute cameo. Okay,
- 55:57dream is a long time You didn't don't him? I do not remember this,
- 56:00nigga blink and miss. Now they say blink and miss at first,
- 56:10they the random partygoer, guardian party hosts. I mean, it's so many
- 56:16one episode people. He gets murdered in the opening scene. Jesus sorry,
- 56:21well thanks, yeah, I mean that's why people are mad. I don't
- 56:23remember that. I have to go watch that shit again. Why would you
- 56:27be mad? Yeah, get over it. But you know, people,
- 56:30and it's like he did, I mean, he did a longer win in
- 56:31Atlanta, but you know that's what he does. You know, he does
- 56:34weird ship. Yeah, whatever it is what it is. No, but
- 56:37I would definitely, I mean I definitely, but it's entertaining. Like I
- 56:40said, I can't I can't say I didn't enjoy the whole series. It's
- 56:44beautifully shot. The action is dope, you know what I mean, All
- 56:46that's dope. All the action is fire. You know, Donald and Shorty
- 56:51both look great, you know, shooting at each other. They got good
- 56:54chemistry, you know. I wasn't really like, oh no, I don't
- 56:58believe they're you know, a chat to each other in and that, you
- 57:00know, so it's it's solid. It was mainly that cliffhanger in and where
- 57:05I was like, nigga, please, it was it's oh my god.
- 57:09And I feel like I've seen it done before, like the exact same scenario,
- 57:15Like I mean, the exact same with the exact and I've definitely,
- 57:21if not the exact same scenario, I've seen this done. We've all seen
- 57:24this done as a cliffhanger, you know, and for you to your season
- 57:30on it, no, hell no, there's just no reason behind such a
- 57:38goof yeah. Ending, Like I said to the ending is either barely in
- 57:44inconvenience or they're dead and there's no second season. That's all there is to
- 57:46it. There's like nothing else can happen in this scenario because they're fucked,
- 57:51and it's like, well they could maybe get out of this or they're dead,
- 57:54and you could have just shown us that, you know what I mean,
- 57:57you didn't need to like wait for a whole season or maybe I think
- 58:00they're waiting to see if this bitch is canceled. That's what I really felt.
- 58:02It was like it was like, well, maybe we get canceled and
- 58:06the dead you know, Poochi died on the way to his home planet.
- 58:08Yeah, I don't think Donald Blumber gets canceled after one season, So you
- 58:15didn't need this ending. Jesus Lord, they can't you getting away with this?
- 58:22Oh yeah, And that's what I mean. It just it wasn't like
- 58:25Breaking Bad where it's like, you know, you can't keep getting away with
- 58:29this. I gotta watch this week because like there's a lot of TV out
- 58:32there. Fam, I don't know if I'm gonna be that interested about the
- 58:35time you rolled around with it, like whatever, who cares? Yeah,
- 58:37it's like that's what I mean. It's like it's damn invincible. It's like,
- 58:40you know, fucking up by cutting their season up. This is just
- 58:44fucking up by like, well, I give a ship. When you bring
- 58:45back season two, maybe there won't be nothing on. Maybe I will you
- 58:50know, but I just feel like the good reviews may carry it. So
- 58:52yeah, and that's what I'm saying. Overall, it's pretty good. I'm
- 58:54not like good, you know, it's like, no, this was a
- 58:58good show. It's just like damn that end. It's like naked please huh.
- 59:01Yeah, yeah, you know, this is what it is. Not
- 59:06everything can stick the end and as we know, you know, so there's
- 59:08one didn't. Maybe the second season and then it'll be perfection. Who knows,
- 59:13who knows. Yeah, I've was talking about how I been watching the
- 59:17shit out of X Men getting hype for X Men ninety seven. We talked
- 59:21about that last week. I can't wait for it, but I just really
- 59:23want to reiterate, like how incredible. And I mean the pressure is on
- 59:29these X Men ninety seven cats because the original X Men series was like MCU
- 59:34level before the MCU, and I did not notice something deep. I was
- 59:37watching it, but like sparingly, you know, I wasn't watching it week
- 59:40to week, so it wasn't like I didn't realize. One it's like between
- 59:44this and Gargoyles this or two at the first like serial animated series in America
- 59:50at least, you know, I was watching it week two week generally and
- 59:54learning deep things about I mean deep cuts and deep character. It's like they
- 1:00:00had an episode where Kilgrave the Purple Man, shows up and captures a bunch
- 1:00:05of mutants. He captures I think Jubilee and some other cats, but while
- 1:00:07he captures them, in the background, there's all these other a few other
- 1:00:10musans he captured, and one of them is I want to say his name
- 1:00:15is Hero whiz Kid. I think his aka. He's a Japanese kid,
- 1:00:21I think the Jaopanese who's like Asian Katan, don't get it wrong, who's
- 1:00:25paraplegic, and he uses his mind to create all this technology, like his
- 1:00:30floating chair, like Professor Saz and all this other shit. He was a
- 1:00:34member of Sword. He's incredible character. One of my favorite that's men and
- 1:00:37he's just there and it's like all It's like that every episode. There are
- 1:00:40so many characters. They had the Rogue versus MS Marvel storyline, which had
- 1:00:45just prominent comics maybe a year or two before that, and they adapted it
- 1:00:50so well. They adapted storyline up the storyline, So I'm really hyped for
- 1:00:54ninety seven. I really hope they do something like adaption to like the Krakoa
- 1:00:59stuff. I don't. I mean, there definitely got to do Age of
- 1:01:04Apocalypse, but they never did that before. Are you gonna do this Phoenix
- 1:01:07over? No? No, No, they did that. They been did
- 1:01:12that. They did the Phoenix, they did Dark and they did it perfectly.
- 1:01:15And they did it perfectly. Yeah, yeah, which is interesting.
- 1:01:17You said something earlier that was interesting about the fact that Marvel had or really
- 1:01:22Fox at that point, had the blueprint literally niggas had the blueprint on how
- 1:01:29to do this and just fucked it up as much as you could. And
- 1:01:31it's just like you didn't have to do that. And I likened it to
- 1:01:35the fact that especially back then, like I know, back then it's like
- 1:01:38fifteen years ago, ten fifty years ago, but I still feel like animation
- 1:01:43wasn't respected as much as it is now. Even now, you can argue
- 1:01:45it's not remember, well not not the cartoon I'm talking about the Fox movies,
- 1:01:50right, so jesus, I know, so geez lord, Okay,
- 1:01:57yeah, I know, Oh my god. But the point is it's just
- 1:02:00like, and even now you can argue that animation is still not aspected as
- 1:02:04much as it should be, but it's better than what it was, and
- 1:02:07what it was was absolutely not on the radar, so it's so it's kind
- 1:02:12of like fucked up. It's like you have a blueprint there. But then
- 1:02:15it's like, well, they wasn't paying attention to the animation anyway, and
- 1:02:16they always likned it to, oh, this is kids stuff. First of
- 1:02:20all, no fucking love triangle between three grown ass people. No fucking situation
- 1:02:25about people getting segregated and this and that happening and going off and killing whole
- 1:02:30fucking populations and talking about because X me and also talked about genocide. There's
- 1:02:36no fucking way all that's kids play. But that's how they like it,
- 1:02:38they said, because it's it's cortoons and bright colors. Y'all didn't know how
- 1:02:43deep this shit was, and it's wild to me, especially like you said,
- 1:02:46because I didn't. I wasn't paying that much as I was watching.
- 1:02:49I was like, oh, yeah, this is dope, and I knew
- 1:02:51it was dope, but once again, I wasn't like knowing how dope it
- 1:02:54was by that point, so I'm like, god, damn, this is
- 1:02:58really, like I said, the straight up blueprit they had the Bluepriart right
- 1:03:02then and there. They could have they could have turned this up into the
- 1:03:06movies, and instead we had to suffer through the black leather outfits and it's
- 1:03:10like, damn y'all. But you know, now it's all coming around.
- 1:03:14We got X Spend ninety seven coming out, Deadpool and Wolverines dropping Wolverines finally
- 1:03:19in the Yellow and Blue. It looks like Marvel, you know, when
- 1:03:22they bring the Edge Men into the real universe, are gonna do it right,
- 1:03:24I'm still hoping for a Cocoa Era. I doubt it that happened,
- 1:03:28because sadly in the comics right now they are winding down the Cocoa Era.
- 1:03:35We are only months away from the relaunch of The X Men, which will
- 1:03:38actually be the same month, so you can pre order the relaunch of The
- 1:03:43X Men along with Jimmy Hendricks Purple Hates, so you can go in and
- 1:03:45yeah, boom boom. I don't know. I'm not recommending it yet because
- 1:03:50I don't know what they're doing. I do know, I'm I'm kind of
- 1:03:53sad at how the Cocoa Era is ending. Man, it is like Kiaren
- 1:03:58Gillen is still writing the hell out of Lue and still writing the hell out
- 1:04:00of it. Some of other people involved, you know, some cool stuff,
- 1:04:04but it just all feels very very rushed, and because I don't know
- 1:04:10what's going to happen after this yet it I'm not excited for that, you
- 1:04:15know, because it's like you're rushing the era that was really dope without me
- 1:04:17knowing what's coming. And X mend was listless and just like boring for like
- 1:04:23twenty years before the Cocoa era, like straight up the comments for like I
- 1:04:29don't know, Yeah, it's been like it was stating it was stant at
- 1:04:32least fifteen years since like Morrison, it was just standing, you know Brant
- 1:04:36Morrison when he rode it in the mid two thousands, like just pure standing.
- 1:04:41And so it's really weird that when you had all this revolutionary ideas and
- 1:04:45all this ill shit coming with the House and Powers of Us, how they're
- 1:04:48just kind of wrapping it up being it's oh sad man like that X Men
- 1:04:55Diary day. I know, I'm enjoying though, you know, the some
- 1:04:59of the last like, but it's the rise of the Powers of Vets that
- 1:05:02Karen Gillen's writing right now. The new issue just came out today. That's
- 1:05:04a great series. Loving that aluings on the Resurrection of Magneto is incredible so
- 1:05:12far. Can't wait to see where that's going. So you know, definitely
- 1:05:15check those out if you're not, you know, if you haven't, I'm
- 1:05:18still enjoying it. And if you haven't read any of this House and Powers
- 1:05:21of X, as always, I say go back to the beginning to read
- 1:05:25House of X and Positive X because it's just one of the most fantastic comments
- 1:05:29you can read. You know, you can go pick that up when you
- 1:05:30reorder Jimmy Hendrix properly, you can while you're pre ordering, you can pick
- 1:05:33that book up, and then the new X Men will launch in July and
- 1:05:36you can get those two and make sure y'all go to Big Djenergy dot com
- 1:05:42and sign up for a guest list so you can follow DJ Benjamin on his
- 1:05:45journey to being one of the great ones, as well as follow his musical
- 1:05:50journey because he is dropping some fire mixes, mashups and remixes and everything else
- 1:05:57in between, and you need to listen to that, and you need to
- 1:06:00get them more views and more plays before the box gets to it. So
