- 0:12Speaker 2: The crown is yours.
- 0:13Speaker 1: We are an Action Network podcast. I'm Brandon Kravitz, your host,
- 0:17Speaker 1: back at it with the first lady of the pod,
- 0:19Speaker 1: Kendra Middleton Evan Abrams. Stats sound always ready to catch
- 0:23Speaker 1: us on any statistical shenanigans that we may get into
- 0:26Speaker 1: on today's podcast, Top twenty Quarterbacks in the NFL. We've
- 0:31Speaker 1: got a two part episode to get to. I have
- 0:34Speaker 1: been waiting to dig into this all off season. I
- 0:37Speaker 1: can almost smell the pig skin. Kendra and I am
- 0:41Speaker 1: ready to go mano e wo woomno with you.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Yeah? That is that?
- 0:48Speaker 2: Yeah, how it goes?
- 0:50Speaker 3: All right, we'll take it.
- 0:52Speaker 1: So the real quick to tie a bow on how
- 0:56Speaker 1: we've all spent the last month of our lives. The
- 0:58Speaker 1: World Cup is coming gone, shout out to Spain for
- 1:01Speaker 1: hoisting the cup.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Maybe by twenty thirty.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Kendrick, you and I can figure out how to log
- 1:06Speaker 1: a money line bet properly on the app. I think
- 1:08Speaker 1: that would be That would be wonderful.
- 1:11Speaker 3: I don't think that was our fault.
- 1:12Speaker 4: I'm really gonna be honest with you because I love action.
- 1:16Speaker 4: I love the homies, thanks for paying me and helping
- 1:19Speaker 4: me love my job. However, if I log onto an
- 1:23Speaker 4: app and the two things to pop up are money
- 1:26Speaker 4: lines and you're gonna give me Spain and Argentina, I
- 1:30Speaker 4: should be able to just choose Spain.
- 1:31Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Yeah, this three way market stuff is somebody who does
- 1:37Speaker 1: not bet soccer on a regular basis.
- 1:39Speaker 2: It took me.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Probably seventy five percent of the Cup to be uber
- 1:45Speaker 1: confident that I was getting it right, thought that I
- 1:48Speaker 1: did on the Championship Sunday, and.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Still fucked it up. So yeah, but.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Either way, I think most of our bets came through
- 1:59Speaker 1: as far as what we had discussed on the podcast.
- 2:02Speaker 2: So as long as you all out there were able
- 2:05Speaker 2: to log dubs, that's all that I care about.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Madonna, the Muppets, bts, Justin Bieber, Shakira, who is defeating
- 2:14Speaker 1: Father Time as every day passes Cold Play, anybody else
- 2:20Speaker 1: I'm missing from Ted Lasso from the halftime show.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Did you like it?
- 2:24Speaker 1: No?
- 2:24Speaker 4: It was a disaster, will I. Honestly, it was an
- 2:28Speaker 4: absolute disaster.
- 2:29Speaker 3: I hated it.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Not every sporting event needs to be a concert, like
- 2:34Speaker 4: leave this for the super Bowl. I hated this. It
- 2:36Speaker 4: took way too long. I think I saw statistic Maybe
- 2:39Speaker 4: Evan knows this. It was like thirty two minutes long.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Are we kidding too much?
- 2:44Speaker 3: Time? Hated it?
- 2:45Speaker 4: Justin Bieber ruined the vibe by playing his acoustic bullshit
- 2:48Speaker 4: Get out of Here.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Hated it.
- 2:50Speaker 4: I did like the Muppets, and I liked Madonna, and
- 2:52Speaker 4: I liked Shakira. Maybe we should just have Muppets and
- 2:54Speaker 4: the girls moving forward.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Other than that, I hated it.
- 2:58Speaker 4: I will say the low and high simultaneously for me
- 3:03Speaker 4: was watching the Argentina players after the game start beating
- 3:07Speaker 4: the shit out of people while the Menia mall is
- 3:09Speaker 4: just like sitting there praying on the ground. I hope
- 3:11Speaker 4: that they get suspended from the next World Cup. Anybody
- 3:14Speaker 4: who threw a punch is out of international soccer. I
- 3:19Speaker 4: can't say words that I would like to on this show.
- 3:22Speaker 4: See ya gone, get out, goodbye.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Bye MESSI see ya. I've had enough of your crap.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Him him?
- 3:31Speaker 1: Can you think we see him again? He'll be forty
- 3:33Speaker 1: three by the next World Cup.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Now.
- 3:35Speaker 4: I think it was Kukurea who like covered his mouth
- 3:38Speaker 4: and you're not allowed to do that in the World Cup.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Now and MESSI was like tattling on him for talking
- 3:42Speaker 4: to him while covering his mouth. You're a grown ass man,
- 3:46Speaker 4: You're a grown man.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Shut up, Evan is saying in the chat he had
- 3:52Speaker 1: no idea who BTS was. Evan, how do you go?
- 3:55Speaker 3: I'm surprised by that YEARO.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 3:58Speaker 5: They came him on the screen and I was like,
- 4:00Speaker 5: I'm I was missing something. I knew they were probably famous,
- 4:04Speaker 5: and I had like gotten to the point where I
- 4:06Speaker 5: was like, I'm I probably should know who these people are.
- 4:08Speaker 2: But yeah, I had no clue.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Did you know the song?
- 4:11Speaker 2: No? I didn't. I was uh not really.
- 4:18Speaker 5: I guess the song was kind of familiar, but I
- 4:20Speaker 5: had no idea who they were. And I guess my
- 4:22Speaker 5: biggest beef for the halftime show would be Beeber's slow song.
- 4:25Speaker 5: Like if we would have played something fast, it would
- 4:27Speaker 5: have been better with the rhythm of the anything fast,
- 4:32Speaker 5: but he seems to just like the slow stuff right now,
- 4:34Speaker 5: which is getting weird.
- 4:35Speaker 2: And for the show it wasn't good. So I don't
- 4:38Speaker 2: expects don't do drugs. That's a good advice.
- 4:43Speaker 3: I stay in drugs, baby.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Our expectations are too high. For these halftime shows because
- 4:49Speaker 2: we don't need them.
- 4:51Speaker 1: What do you think would make people happy? Because everyone
- 4:54Speaker 1: hates the halftime show in the super Bowl every time,
- 4:58Speaker 1: most people seem to dislike the World Cup halftime show.
- 5:01Speaker 4: I think they should let everybody take a piss and
- 5:04Speaker 4: get a snack.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I mean, I think technically you can do that, Like
- 5:10Speaker 2: you're not forced to watch.
- 5:12Speaker 4: The toket you're ever gonna get and you think I'm
- 5:15Speaker 4: gonna get up and take a pee right now.
- 5:16Speaker 2: No, we should have just rolled out.
- 5:19Speaker 5: We should have just rolled out Red Panda and everyone
- 5:21Speaker 5: would have just.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Been, yes, yes, I'm in great pull.
- 5:25Speaker 1: No one has ever been pissed off that Red pandas
- 5:29Speaker 1: you could have dropped.
- 5:29Speaker 5: One dish and everyone still would have been like, yeah,
- 5:32Speaker 5: let's go.
- 5:33Speaker 4: When she fell, there was like a freaking gofund me
- 5:36Speaker 4: for her medical bills and like a new scooter.
- 5:39Speaker 3: She she's America's sweetheart.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Low key missed opportunity. Yeah real.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Whenever she's at the Kia Center and I'm doing a
- 5:48Speaker 1: magic halftime show and it's like the court's right there
- 5:50Speaker 1: in front of me, I cannot focus. There's just no
- 5:53Speaker 1: productivity when Red Panda's out there rolling around.
- 5:56Speaker 4: So what if we just roll Shakir out there until
- 6:00Speaker 4: she's like Sister Jean. I think that that's like the
- 6:02Speaker 4: only acceptable option.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I'm not sure she's gonna get there. I mean, all
- 6:07Speaker 1: I've heard my whole life is father Time is undefeated. Yeah,
- 6:09Speaker 1: Lebron Messi and Shakira have just been punching back.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I think we should.
- 6:14Speaker 4: I think we should give the World Cup halftime show
- 6:16Speaker 4: to Shakira. And that's just we've solved all of our problems.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Like she's like the Mariah Carey of.
- 6:21Speaker 1: The world, Kira with red Panda rolling around in the background,
- 6:25Speaker 1: coming up the top signal callers, the top guys from
- 6:28Speaker 1: the pocket in the game today. But before we get
- 6:31Speaker 1: to that, no pocket is complete without the Draftking Sports App.
- 6:35Speaker 4: The dog days of summer are here, and as temperatures

- 7:19Speaker 4: things are hat DraftKings.
- 7:21Speaker 6: The crown is yours.
- 7:32Speaker 1: All right, Kendra, It is time for us to get
- 7:36Speaker 1: into it. Our top twenty quarterbacks entering into the twenty
- 7:40Speaker 1: twenty sixth season, This moment feels like the official lift
- 7:44Speaker 1: off to our upcoming betting season starting here the most
- 7:49Speaker 1: important position in the sport.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I am I'm scared.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Are we gonna fight?
- 7:53Speaker 1: I think we might fight, But I'm also in a
- 7:56Speaker 1: great mood today because we're talking quarterbacks, so it's gonna
- 8:00Speaker 1: take a lot to piss me off. I have a
- 8:02Speaker 1: feeling you will find a way, and I will definitely
- 8:05Speaker 1: find a way to piss you off.
- 8:06Speaker 2: That is without a doubt.
- 8:08Speaker 1: We are gonna go from the back end to the
- 8:10Speaker 1: front end two part episode. We're gonna go twenty to
- 8:12Speaker 1: eleven today and then we will do ten through one
- 8:17Speaker 1: on the next episode. We have each compiled our own
- 8:21Speaker 1: list and we will bicker accordingly. So as the leading
- 8:28Speaker 1: lady on this show, I will let you go first
- 8:31Speaker 1: quarterback number twenty.
- 8:34Speaker 4: I think that a lot of people are gonna hate this,
- 8:37Speaker 4: but if you followed us through last season, I have
- 8:39Speaker 4: to go number twenty Bryce Young. I could not find
- 8:43Speaker 4: twelve quarterbacks at the end of the starting lineups for
- 8:46Speaker 4: this year that are better than Bryce Young won the
- 8:49Speaker 4: division last year, has a number one receiver in Tetoa McMillan.
- 8:54Speaker 4: You can't convince me that there are twelve guys better
- 8:56Speaker 4: than him.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Right now. I'm sorry. He did it. He won the division.
- 9:00Speaker 3: It is what it is.
- 9:01Speaker 4: I got to show my guy some love. He won
- 9:03Speaker 4: me a lot of money last year.
- 9:04Speaker 3: And I.
- 9:06Speaker 4: And him getting benched for Andy Dalton was the best
- 9:09Speaker 4: thing that ever happened to him. And I really truly
- 9:12Speaker 4: believe that. And I think they have good coaching, the
- 9:15Speaker 4: teams getting better. They did him some favors in the offseason.
- 9:18Speaker 4: I think that he is going to be in a
- 9:19Speaker 4: competitive division moving forward, but he knows what he needs
- 9:22Speaker 4: to do. He's found a little bit of success. I
- 9:24Speaker 4: think that he has a little bit more confidence heading
- 9:26Speaker 4: into the season. I am going to go the twentieth
- 9:29Speaker 4: best quarterback in this league right now, give me Bryce Young.
- 9:33Speaker 1: I can't believe him about to slander Bryce Young, because
- 9:35Speaker 1: I'm with you. Nobody made me more money last year
- 9:38Speaker 1: than the sad cat Carolina Panthers were.
- 9:40Speaker 2: We're welcome all in that.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Thank you for setting the table for that early on
- 9:44Speaker 1: in the season, and then we just cashed all the
- 9:46Speaker 1: way into the wild card round and they were able
- 9:50Speaker 1: to cover the spread against the La Rams. I love
- 9:52Speaker 1: what I saw from Bryce Young last year. He went
- 9:55Speaker 1: from and this is the reason why I don't have
- 9:56Speaker 1: him inside of my top twenty anywhere, is that he
- 10:00Speaker 1: went from perhaps the worst quarterback in the NFL to serviceable.
- 10:06Speaker 2: But he's arst There's so many other quarterbacks that are
- 10:10Speaker 2: just better than him right now. He still has room.
- 10:13Speaker 1: He has a lot of room to grow, and I
- 10:14Speaker 1: wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the year
- 10:17Speaker 1: he's inside.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Of my top twenty.
- 10:18Speaker 1: But right now, one decent year is not enough to
- 10:23Speaker 1: get me inside of a top twenty. There's so many
- 10:25Speaker 1: good quarterbacks in the NFL right now, and he still
- 10:28Speaker 1: leaves a lot of meat on the bone. If you
- 10:29Speaker 1: go down his game log last year, which was easily
- 10:32Speaker 1: his best season, he struggles to surpass two hundred yards
- 10:36Speaker 1: like that is just a requisite number.
- 10:38Speaker 3: One receiver though.
- 10:40Speaker 1: And it doesn't help in their offensive line. I think
- 10:43Speaker 1: did get better in the offseason that so he's got
- 10:45Speaker 1: room to grow. I'm not a Brice Young hater. He's
- 10:47Speaker 1: just not in my top twenty.
- 10:49Speaker 4: I think that if he's had anybody other than Jalen
- 10:52Speaker 4: Koker an Xavier Lagette to help him.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Out, he could probably hit the two hundred yards game mark.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Yeah, they have not done a lot with the support
- 11:00Speaker 1: cast around him. And the rico' dabble though, I mean,
- 11:04Speaker 1: will help him and and Hubbard now takes over that
- 11:10Speaker 1: role as the lead guy as far as the run
- 11:13Speaker 1: game goes.
- 11:14Speaker 2: So Bryce Young, all right, A little bit of love
- 11:16Speaker 2: for the little guy. Uh, number twenty for me, do that,
- 11:19Speaker 2: don't don't belittle him.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Daniel Jones, Number twenty for me, We all thought that
- 11:28Speaker 1: he was going to turn into a pumpkin at one
- 11:30Speaker 1: point last year, and it did happen, but it was
- 11:33Speaker 1: by injury. You cannot deny that this guy was on
- 11:36Speaker 1: an MVP trajectory. It's the best he's looked in his career.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Good offensive line, good ground game, and he flourished in
- 11:43Speaker 1: that environment. And we've also seen him the guy has
- 11:46Speaker 1: had won a playoff game in a bad environment.
- 11:48Speaker 2: I see we have hands raised here.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Did you do this based off of last season or
- 11:53Speaker 4: who you expect them to be this year? Because I
- 11:55Speaker 4: did it based off of who I expect them to
- 11:57Speaker 4: be this year, and Daniel Jones might not even start
- 11:59Speaker 4: this season.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Brand I'm glad.
- 12:01Speaker 1: That you mentioned that, because I should have really started
- 12:04Speaker 1: this conversation by telling people what exactly the thought process
- 12:10Speaker 1: was and putting this list together, because the top twenty
- 12:12Speaker 1: could be top twenty of what you've accomplished so far,
- 12:15Speaker 1: Top twenty moving forward to ten, Top twenty next five years.
- 12:19Speaker 2: For me, it is about what you have done.
- 12:23Speaker 1: That's a portion of the evaluation, but more than anything else,
- 12:28Speaker 1: it's what I expect you to be going into next season.
- 12:31Speaker 4: So I use and you think a three year old
- 12:34Speaker 4: coming off of an achilles.
- 12:36Speaker 2: I use the.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Prior history as a platform and then build off of
- 12:39Speaker 1: that platform with what I expect current ability, processing, decision making, playmaking,
- 12:44Speaker 1: clutch ability, and durability. And that is the biggest question
- 12:47Speaker 1: mark with Daniel Jones based on the way he played
- 12:50Speaker 1: last year. If this injury wasn't present, he'd be higher
- 12:53Speaker 1: on this list. So the reason he's twenty for me
- 12:56Speaker 1: is because of what you're talking about with the injury.
- 12:59Speaker 1: But right now now reading the latest reports, it's not
- 13:02Speaker 1: like he's ruled out for week one. He might start
- 13:04Speaker 1: the beginning of the season if everything goes well, So
- 13:08Speaker 1: it's not like that.
- 13:08Speaker 2: We're not getting like a Micah Parsons timeline on this guy.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Do you want to know something embarrassing.
- 13:13Speaker 4: I had a really bad brain fart on the radio
- 13:15Speaker 4: this weekend and I called Riley Leonard Relly Cooper.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Oh that's rough. That is not so bad. That's a
- 13:21Speaker 2: bad Riley to get mixed up.
- 13:24Speaker 1: This might be that this is as gross as the
- 13:26Speaker 1: list is going to get for either of us. I
- 13:28Speaker 1: think that it gets a lot more attractive after.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Number twenty nineteen for me?
- 13:36Speaker 1: Is j Stroud do you have Stroud at nineteen as well,
- 13:40Speaker 1: do I do step in the wrong direction? Last year
- 13:44Speaker 1: he continues to take way too many sacks, doesn't throw
- 13:47Speaker 1: enough touchdown passes for my blood just nineteen. Last year
- 13:49Speaker 1: he was brutal in that playoff game against the Patriots.
- 13:53Speaker 1: But I'm still a believer in his talent, and when
- 13:56Speaker 1: Tank Dell was on the field with him, he was
- 13:58Speaker 1: a different quarterback. That connection and means something to CJ. Stroud.
- 14:02Speaker 2: His old line has stunk his running game last year
- 14:05Speaker 2: they relied on woody marks. David Montgomery should help, so
- 14:09Speaker 2: I think he'll be better. But I can't get him
- 14:12Speaker 2: any higher than nineteen, and it looks like you can't either.
- 14:15Speaker 4: No, I have to sneeze really bad, so I might
- 14:17Speaker 4: have to do that in a second here. But I
- 14:18Speaker 4: just think that this goes to show how much having
- 14:21Speaker 4: good receivers really does help out one a young quarterback
- 14:25Speaker 4: to a struggling quarterback, and three someone who is either
- 14:29Speaker 4: struggling with decision making or confidence or both, whether those
- 14:32Speaker 4: are in conjunction.
- 14:32Speaker 3: With each other.
- 14:34Speaker 4: I just after watching him in the postseason last year,
- 14:37Speaker 4: I think that if he didn't have a good defense
- 14:39Speaker 4: to bail him out, they would absolutely be screwed, and
- 14:42Speaker 4: I am, unfortunately for him, praying on his downfall.
- 14:45Speaker 3: You can stay at nineteen. I hope you suck this season.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Good luck. Though, if he prior to last year, where
- 14:53Speaker 2: do you think he was and we didn't do this listen?
- 14:54Speaker 2: Oh my god?
- 14:56Speaker 4: Else after his rookie season, I would have had him
- 14:59Speaker 4: in my top eight if he continued that same trajectory.
- 15:03Speaker 4: But I just cannot look at him the same way.
- 15:05Speaker 4: I don't know if the kid is a winner. I
- 15:07Speaker 4: don't know if the kid's a winner. I really I
- 15:09Speaker 4: just I think he's one of these guys. Not that
- 15:12Speaker 4: him and Justin Herbert have similar talents as far as
- 15:17Speaker 4: the position that they play. It's more so just I
- 15:20Speaker 4: wonder about the clutch gene in the same way.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Yeah, and do you have that second gear?
- 15:25Speaker 1: Because once defensive coordinators start to figure out what you're
- 15:27Speaker 1: good at, they take that away. You have to be
- 15:29Speaker 1: good at other things and keep those dcs on their toes.
- 15:34Speaker 1: It doesn't seem like Stroud has done that, but I
- 15:37Speaker 1: at least give him a break on some of the
- 15:40Speaker 1: infrastructure stuff with Houston has been a mess. Nico Collins
- 15:44Speaker 1: can't stay healthy. Tank Dell tore up his leg, the
- 15:47Speaker 1: offensive line isn't good, so he's at least for both
- 15:50Speaker 1: of us inside of the top twenty. Still at nineteen
- 15:54Speaker 1: for both Kendra and I eighteen. Looking at your name
- 15:58Speaker 1: here and wow, you got aggressive on a second year quarterback.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Talk to me about Jackson Dart at eight.
- 16:07Speaker 4: I'm surprised you don't have Jackson in your top twenty.
- 16:11Speaker 4: I realize that he takes a lot of bad hits
- 16:15Speaker 4: at times, but he had heat. Listen, he had injuries
- 16:20Speaker 4: on his team last year, and he still found ways
- 16:22Speaker 4: to win, still managed to be a winner, still found
- 16:24Speaker 4: the end zone, whether it was you know, guys.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Around him or himself.
- 16:29Speaker 4: And I think that he has a winner mentality and
- 16:30Speaker 4: that means something to me.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Their team got better, better coaching.
- 16:33Speaker 4: I know a lot of the guys surrounding him are
- 16:34Speaker 4: going to be questionable heading into the season, but if
- 16:36Speaker 4: Darius Layton and Malik Neighbors can give him some help
- 16:38Speaker 4: this season, I think we are going to see him elevated.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Probably gonna have a short career because he doesn't know
- 16:43Speaker 4: how to slide, but it might be the most electric
- 16:46Speaker 4: through your career we've ever seen, and if he's.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Able to put it all together, I'm gonna look foolish
- 16:50Speaker 1: for not having him inside of the top twenty. Statistically,
- 16:54Speaker 1: we don't. I just I don't trust that he's going
- 16:59Speaker 1: to stay healthy. Yarn ten as a starter last year
- 17:01Speaker 1: and so I mean the winning I get, the Giants
- 17:04Speaker 1: weren't good, so judging him based off of record probably
- 17:07Speaker 1: isn't fair.
- 17:07Speaker 2: But just to tell the whole context.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Of the evaluation here, he plays too loose and I
- 17:13Speaker 1: don't when he was at his best is when he
- 17:16Speaker 1: was running around and diving in the middle of the field.
- 17:19Speaker 1: You're not gonna make it through a season like that.
- 17:20Speaker 1: You'll be lucky to make it through a season like that.
- 17:23Speaker 1: And if he does, he's gonna look great and he's
- 17:25Speaker 1: definitely gonna be a top twenty guy. Look at the
- 17:27Speaker 1: numbers he was putting up as a rookie with a
- 17:29Speaker 1: pretty bad system around him and a coach that got fired.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Now he's got John Harball, and it's just can he
- 17:37Speaker 1: be good in structure because he's gonna need to be
- 17:40Speaker 1: if he's gonna stay on the field, And I don't
- 17:42Speaker 1: trust that.
- 17:43Speaker 2: So for me, it's a durab Ca.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that that could definitely be better too, and they've
- 17:48Speaker 1: been trying to upgrade that over the years to uh.
- 17:51Speaker 4: I mean they could help could be helpful as long
- 17:54Speaker 4: as he's beneficial rookie.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Yeah, and he's gonna play big role very early on
- 18:00Speaker 1: in that offense. Bo Nicks for me, probably propped up
- 18:04Speaker 1: by Sean Payton and the backing of a really good offensive.
- 18:09Speaker 1: We'll talk about a good offensive line. They've got it
- 18:11Speaker 1: in Denver, maybe the best in the NFL. Great defense too,
- 18:14Speaker 1: but he still gets the job done. Top fifteen in
- 18:16Speaker 1: terms of quarterback rating on ESPN, top ten in terms
- 18:20Speaker 1: of air yards. So he's not just dumping the ball off.
- 18:22Speaker 1: This guy's pushing the ball down the field too. And
- 18:25Speaker 1: that clutch gene that you talk about some of these
- 18:27Speaker 1: guys don't have. Bo Nicks is not a sensational quarterback,
- 18:31Speaker 1: but the dude is clutch. Y had that nineteen to
- 18:34Speaker 1: nothing comeback against the Giants last year, came back from
- 18:38Speaker 1: a deficit fourteen point deficit in the fourth quarter against
- 18:41Speaker 1: the Philadelphia Eagles last year. Bo Nicks is like Walmart
- 18:45Speaker 1: Drew Brees is kind of what I see from him.
- 18:48Speaker 4: Yeah, we were similarly nice to Bonix, that's your eighteen,
- 18:52Speaker 4: he is my seventeen. I just I know that I
- 18:56Speaker 4: have a sour taste in my mouth about him from
- 18:58Speaker 4: his days at Auburn, But I am convinced that he's
- 19:01Speaker 4: one of these guys that needs a perfect situation to
- 19:04Speaker 4: be a decent quarterback. We didn't see him succeed until
- 19:07Speaker 4: he had a guy like Dan Lanning there to sit
- 19:09Speaker 4: and hold his hand in college football, and I think
- 19:12Speaker 4: it's similar with Sean Payton.
- 19:13Speaker 3: I think Sean Payton's like willing to sit.
- 19:16Speaker 4: There, walk him through everything, kind of be that mentor
- 19:18Speaker 4: role that he needs, and spend more time with him
- 19:20Speaker 4: than another coach would be able to because he's a
- 19:22Speaker 4: quarterback whisperer and he's a quarterback focused guy. So I
- 19:26Speaker 4: think that because he has the perfect situation and perfect
- 19:28Speaker 4: marriage for him as a player, it elevates him. I
- 19:32Speaker 4: just don't know if he's one of these guys despite
- 19:34Speaker 4: having a coach like that, a defense like he has
- 19:36Speaker 4: in the player surrounding him on the offense, it's like
- 19:38Speaker 4: he has who could get over the hump of the
- 19:41Speaker 4: gauntlet of a season. And here's the big thing for
- 19:44Speaker 4: me watching Jared Sidham go into that game and truly
- 19:48Speaker 4: not feeling like there was that much of a drop
- 19:51Speaker 4: off other than the few times that I screamed at
- 19:53Speaker 4: my television for Jarrett to run when he doesn't have
- 19:56Speaker 4: that in his arsenal.
- 19:58Speaker 3: That means something to me when I'm an evaluation like.
- 20:01Speaker 1: This, And I think that's the toughest part with these
- 20:04Speaker 1: evaluations of quarterbacks is how much credit do you give
- 20:07Speaker 1: them for operating a good system? Well, Rock Party, not really,
- 20:12Speaker 1: it's not bo, it's the system, but a BO does
- 20:15Speaker 1: operate the system. Well, we'll hit on a guy that
- 20:17Speaker 1: I think fits that Bill perfectly is in San Francisco,
- 20:20Speaker 1: much higher on the list.
- 20:22Speaker 2: For me, I have not looked ahead. I'm trying not
- 20:24Speaker 2: to peek ahead at your list.
- 20:25Speaker 3: I already said it, but it's true.
- 20:27Speaker 4: It's like, that's the easiest thing you can point out
- 20:28Speaker 4: when you're having this conversation is Drock Party, and it
- 20:30Speaker 4: doesn't matter where we have him. That is the definition
- 20:33Speaker 4: of this conversation exactly.
- 20:35Speaker 1: So you have bon Nicks at seventeen, my seventeen, and
- 20:38Speaker 1: one of the guys that I think we have the
- 20:39Speaker 1: biggest disagreement on of players that are inside of our
- 20:42Speaker 1: top twenty is Jalen Hurts, and he's holding on for
- 20:45Speaker 1: dear life here. He just he's just been figured out.
- 20:49Speaker 1: You know, we talked about guys that don't have that
- 20:53Speaker 1: next gear. Okay, defensive coordinators have figured out what it
- 20:56Speaker 1: is you're good at. Now they're trying to take it away.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Do you have that next level to hit? He was
- 21:02Speaker 1: a one trick pony, and when the offensive line isn't
- 21:05Speaker 1: operating at an uber elite level, he's just a guy
- 21:08Speaker 1: who really can't complete passes consistently. He only had twenty
- 21:11Speaker 1: eight passes between the hash marks last year. That is
- 21:13Speaker 1: the lowest of any quarterback in the NFL. I still
- 21:17Speaker 1: think he's got that it quality at the position in
- 21:20Speaker 1: terms of leadership, and he can obviously run.
- 21:23Speaker 2: But I'm selling some Jalen Hurt stock here me as well.
- 21:28Speaker 4: I don't have him as low as you. We're not
- 21:30Speaker 4: super far off. But for me, it's more the respect
- 21:33Speaker 4: of I know what you're capable of. I've seen what
- 21:35Speaker 4: you can do. You can win a Super Bowl, and
- 21:37Speaker 4: therefore I owe you the respect of that. But I
- 21:40Speaker 4: almost think in a weird way, Saquon kind of hurt
- 21:42Speaker 4: his game I know that that sounds silly to say,
- 21:46Speaker 4: but I have to give him some respect and give
- 21:49Speaker 4: him some flowers. He's earned them over some of these
- 21:51Speaker 4: other guys that I have between where you have him
- 21:53Speaker 4: and where I have him, and in a draft, I
- 21:56Speaker 4: would honestly take him over a lot of the guys
- 22:00Speaker 4: right now that we have in the next few tears.
- 22:02Speaker 1: So when you say Saquon has hurt his do you
- 22:08Speaker 1: think it's just that Saquon takes the shine off of
- 22:11Speaker 1: what Jalen Hurts brings to the offense.
- 22:14Speaker 4: It does, And I think that because you have the
- 22:16Speaker 4: option in the run game like him, it takes away
- 22:19Speaker 4: from some of his ability to shine.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Sixteen for me And uh hey, look at that in
- 22:29Speaker 1: lockstep again, Baker Mayfield.
- 22:32Speaker 4: Do you think Baker Mayfield's better than Jalen Hurts.
- 22:35Speaker 2: I do.
- 22:36Speaker 1: I do think he's better than Jalen Hurts. That's crazy
- 22:39Speaker 1: to significantly better passer. And I am now two episodes
- 22:45Speaker 1: into the Quarterback documentary on Netflix.
- 22:48Speaker 2: By the way, I.
- 22:49Speaker 4: Need to start that. That's actually going to be my
- 22:51Speaker 4: to do this evening. Thank you for the reminder. While
- 22:53Speaker 4: I am packing for my trip tomorrow, I am going
- 22:56Speaker 4: to consume this and I'm going to download the rest
- 22:58Speaker 4: of it for my thirteen hours of flying.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Very entertaining. It really softens up Baker Mayfield. His wife
- 23:03Speaker 1: is awesome.
- 23:04Speaker 3: She is Emily.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a girl dad.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Also, I know so so we should he should even
- 23:11Speaker 1: be higher on our list just based on how we
- 23:13Speaker 1: view that.
- 23:14Speaker 4: I just think that his time has come, unfortunately. With
- 23:17Speaker 4: there's a couple of quarterbacks that I'm going to speak
- 23:19Speaker 4: about this with through this process, I just unfortunately thinks
- 23:22Speaker 4: the grim reaper of football is coming for him. His
- 23:26Speaker 4: best days are behind him. I think some of his
- 23:28Speaker 4: injuries are starting to get to him. It was an
- 23:30Speaker 4: awesome turnaround of a career that we got to see.
- 23:33Speaker 4: It'll be a cool story. We'll talk about it for
- 23:35Speaker 4: a long time of him being kind of one of
- 23:37Speaker 4: these pioneers for the Sam Darnolds and like Tuas of
- 23:40Speaker 4: the world and whoever we're going to see next. But unfortunately,
- 23:44Speaker 4: I think with the team that is now surrounding him,
- 23:48Speaker 4: and I don't I just I think I think that
- 23:52Speaker 4: it has come and gone.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Good night.
- 23:55Speaker 1: See Yeah, okay, but you just hit something that I
- 23:58Speaker 1: think is an important note here for the or a
- 24:01Speaker 1: Baker backing argument is the team around him. I don't
- 24:05Speaker 1: think the team around Baker the last couple of years
- 24:08Speaker 1: has really been all that much better than mid and
- 24:11Speaker 1: he has helped to elevate them at times that they
- 24:15Speaker 1: won a playoff game in twenty twenty three. He played
- 24:17Speaker 1: at an MVP level in twenty twenty four. Last year,
- 24:20Speaker 1: and this is detailed in that documentary very well, he
- 24:23Speaker 1: dealt with an MCL injury, a PCL injury, and a
- 24:26Speaker 1: shoulder injury, and Mike Evans got hurt and they did
- 24:30Speaker 1: fall off.
- 24:30Speaker 2: But like you, two years prior, he was elite DABS.
- 24:34Speaker 4: They've played in the worst division in football for the
- 24:36Speaker 4: entire time he's been on that team, and now Mike
- 24:39Speaker 4: Evans is gone and a Mecca Buka's awesome. I love
- 24:42Speaker 4: Chris Godwin, but he's coming back from a disgusting injury,
- 24:45Speaker 4: and I think Cadatten's the man. Tristan Worf's my favorite
- 24:48Speaker 4: left tackle in all of football, but they played in
- 24:51Speaker 4: an ass division and he still couldn't survive it. I respect,
- 24:56Speaker 4: but goodbye.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Okay, all right, this is coming from the person Bryce
- 25:00Speaker 2: Young in our top twenty.
- 25:01Speaker 4: I sure shit, do you know who won that ass
- 25:03Speaker 4: division last year.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Baby, he collecked them.
- 25:05Speaker 7: Cheeks cheeks, who is not in my top twenty by
- 25:09Speaker 7: the way, So tease forward or a non tease fifteen
- 25:14Speaker 7: for us is also the same.
- 25:16Speaker 2: It's Jade and Daniels for both Kendra and I.
- 25:19Speaker 1: And this is a guy that we all collectively overreacted
- 25:23Speaker 1: on after a phenomenal rookie season statistically the most impressive
- 25:27Speaker 1: rookie season that we've seen from a quarterback. But why
- 25:31Speaker 1: do you have Jad and Daniels at number fifteen on
- 25:34Speaker 1: your list?
- 25:36Speaker 3: One because of the regression, Two.
- 25:39Speaker 4: Because I think that the talent surrounding him is not
- 25:45Speaker 4: I think you need more than Terry McLaurin to elevate
- 25:49Speaker 4: young quarterbacks. This is a conversation that I think we're
- 25:52Speaker 4: going to continue to have specifically in this you know,
- 25:54Speaker 4: twenty through eleven.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Range of quarterbacks.
- 25:57Speaker 4: It's just it's tough for me to sit here and
- 25:59Speaker 4: say that I think that this is enough for him
- 26:02Speaker 4: to be a successful young quarterback in this league, especially
- 26:07Speaker 4: in the division that they play in. That's that's the
- 26:10Speaker 4: biggest factor for me. But also I just think dan
- 26:12Speaker 4: Quinn is a moron, So.
- 26:15Speaker 1: He really is overcoming a lot. They don't have a
- 26:18Speaker 1: great offensive line either. Terry McLaurin, I doubt also is
- 26:23Speaker 1: an Alpha one. Deebo Samuel they bring really well.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I don't. I don't think he's a Tier one guy.
- 26:30Speaker 1: I think he's I think he'd be like he's like
- 26:32Speaker 1: t Higgins to me, he would be an elite too.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Can I ask Evan Abrams for something quickly? Laramie Tunsil
- 26:40Speaker 3: also getting old?
- 26:40Speaker 4: Is actually I lied, he's my favorite left tackle because
- 26:43Speaker 4: your girl's a bon ripper. However, can I get a
- 26:46Speaker 4: season total if there is one on Luke McCaffrey for
- 26:49Speaker 4: touchdowns this season? Because I would maybe watch Luke McCaffrey.
- 26:53Speaker 4: I'm an apologist of his.
- 26:56Speaker 1: If his name was like Sampson or something other than McCaffrey, nobody.
- 27:02Speaker 4: No, you can go back in my tweet archive. I've
- 27:05Speaker 4: been talking about Luke McCaffrey for years. Screw you Kravitz.
- 27:08Speaker 4: That has nothing to do with this.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Yeah, that McCaffrey name does. It does appeal to some
- 27:17Speaker 1: level of hype, but the weaponry is just not around
- 27:23Speaker 1: Jayden and Daniels right now. I try not to hold
- 27:25Speaker 1: that against him too much, but there's just nothing from
- 27:28Speaker 1: last year that helps to elevate a Jaden Daniels argument
- 27:32Speaker 1: above health.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Also the health is but it's because of his offensive line.
- 27:38Speaker 4: Like truly, I think that that it's that and that
- 27:40Speaker 4: he takes off and he is maybe one hundred and
- 27:42Speaker 4: ten pounds soaking wet. Can we what's the opposite of ozempic?
- 27:46Speaker 4: That's what Jade and Daniels needs. What are those protein
- 27:49Speaker 4: bars that they feed Regina George and mean girls? Can
- 27:52Speaker 4: we get Jade and Daniels some of those?
- 27:54Speaker 2: I think the opposite of ozempic is like an Uncrustable.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Maybe, Hey, weren't they one of the top teams of
- 28:03Speaker 4: consumption of uncrustables last year?
- 28:06Speaker 2: There is a ranking out there somewhere, I don't We're
- 28:09Speaker 2: out there.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Yeah, we can we get the Uncrustable's rankings for this year.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Sure that'll come out after our top twenty quarterbacks in
- 28:18Speaker 1: the NFL. Let's move to number fourteen, Kendra, who do
- 28:24Speaker 1: you love?
- 28:25Speaker 2: At fourteen?
- 28:26Speaker 3: I have Jordan Love here.
- 28:28Speaker 4: I think that he gets a lot of help with
- 28:32Speaker 4: Tucker Craft and the guys that's around him.
- 28:34Speaker 3: But I just I'm not a Jordan Love Truther. I
- 28:36Speaker 3: would love to be one. It's a health thing for me.
- 28:41Speaker 4: He never really seems to be healthy, and I'm not
- 28:43Speaker 4: sure we had doctor Chow on the other day.
- 28:46Speaker 3: There are guys that, no matter what they're.
- 28:49Speaker 4: Going through, like Patrick Mahomes, will tell you that they
- 28:51Speaker 4: are ready and good to play in a game. And
- 28:53Speaker 4: I don't think that Jordan Love has that grit about him.
- 28:56Speaker 4: And he's one of these guys that we saw him
- 28:58Speaker 4: sit for a couple weeks last year and Malik Willis
- 29:00Speaker 4: come in and they're not be that big of a
- 29:03Speaker 4: drop off between the two. In fact, Malik Willis's performance
- 29:06Speaker 4: now earned him quite the salary and a starting job
- 29:09Speaker 4: for your Miami Dolphins.
- 29:10Speaker 1: My friend, so yeah, did he almost landed in my
- 29:13Speaker 1: Top twenty?
- 29:13Speaker 2: Just added sheer excitement you.
- 29:16Speaker 3: Think that maleague Willis is.
- 29:19Speaker 4: I'm not letting you almost I'm not letting you rage
- 29:21Speaker 4: bait me right now. But it is literally just the
- 29:25Speaker 4: same thing as Boenix and Jared's did. And I'm trying
- 29:27Speaker 4: to respect Jordan Love the division he plays in and
- 29:29Speaker 4: the things that I know that he is capable of.
- 29:31Speaker 4: I just am not a believer in him. And when
- 29:33Speaker 4: your backup comes in and there is not that much
- 29:35Speaker 4: of a drop off. I'm sorry, but I cannot put
- 29:38Speaker 4: you in a top ten.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Yeah, not in my top ten either. I have him
- 29:42Speaker 1: one spot higher than you. I've got Jordan Love at thirteen.
- 29:47Speaker 1: I'll give you the breakdown of that in a moment.
- 29:49Speaker 1: My fourteen is Caleb Williams the iceman, one of the
- 29:54Speaker 1: great playoff performance.
- 29:55Speaker 4: No, they're calling him the great one, but gr ate
- 29:58Speaker 4: because of the Packers grating t he is the great one.
- 30:01Speaker 2: That's great.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I think the iceman thing got denied anyway in court.
- 30:04Speaker 1: But he's got all the talent in the world to
- 30:06Speaker 1: be number one on this list in a year. He's
- 30:08Speaker 1: just got to put it all together. He makes the
- 30:11Speaker 1: simple too hard. That's the problem with Caleb Williams. It's
- 30:15Speaker 1: been his issue from his days at USC. His eleven
- 30:19Speaker 1: touchdowns thrown at least twenty yards down the field were
- 30:22Speaker 1: two more than any other quarterback last year. If it's difficult,
- 30:25Speaker 1: he's great at it. If it's simple, it makes Ben
- 30:28Speaker 1: Johnson want to pull his remaining hairs out. That's the
- 30:32Speaker 1: breakdown of Caleb Williams. I we all reserve the right
- 30:37Speaker 1: to put him higher, but right now, I think having
- 30:39Speaker 1: him higher than fourteen. He was in the top ten
- 30:41Speaker 1: of ESPN did that list where they interviewed the executives
- 30:45Speaker 1: and coaches for teams around the NFL.
- 30:47Speaker 2: He was top ten. Way too rich for my blood.
- 30:51Speaker 3: He was close for me.
- 30:53Speaker 4: If there are schedule wasn't that hard this season, I
- 30:56Speaker 4: would be way higher on him as well.
- 30:58Speaker 3: But their schedule is a let.
- 31:03Speaker 2: So you're using schedules against these guys.
- 31:06Speaker 4: I mean that's going to help me dictate their performance
- 31:08Speaker 4: and where I would like to place my money cravits.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Yes, I am, okay, that's fair. Let's see. We have
- 31:15Speaker 2: some overlap here, so I just want to make sure
- 31:16Speaker 2: I'm not losing tracks.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Yeah, but I have.
- 31:18Speaker 4: But I have Jalen Hurts at thirteen because I respect
- 31:21Speaker 4: him unlike you, okay, and I respect his all female
- 31:25Speaker 4: PR and marketing team unlike you.
- 31:29Speaker 1: How did me having him at seventeen somehow turn me
- 31:32Speaker 1: into a bigot? How did that happen? What have I
- 31:36Speaker 1: done to earn this? On complete passes outside of the hashes.
- 31:43Speaker 1: I don't care who his representation is.
- 31:47Speaker 2: Give that to me.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Jordan Love at thirteen for me and Jalen Hurts for Kendrick,
- 31:54Speaker 1: Is there anything else you'd like to say about Hurts
- 31:56Speaker 1: other than the fact that his PR staff.
- 31:59Speaker 4: Is I feel like I say everything when we were
- 32:00Speaker 4: talking about your ranking of him. I just I think
- 32:04Speaker 4: that he I think that you're right in the fact
- 32:06Speaker 4: that coaches have figured him out and the dual threat
- 32:09Speaker 4: quarterback isn't as lethal as it was maybe five years
- 32:13Speaker 4: ago in the NFL because there's been ways to stop
- 32:16Speaker 4: it now. But I have to respect him more than
- 32:19Speaker 4: some of these other guys on this list.
- 32:21Speaker 1: So Jordan Love, I want to pause on him for
- 32:24Speaker 1: a moment, because you have him at fourteen. I have
- 32:26Speaker 1: him at thirteen. Small quibble on Jordan Love. The analytics
- 32:32Speaker 1: love him.
- 32:33Speaker 2: This guy was. Pro Football Focus has him as number
- 32:36Speaker 2: three in the league in terms of his overall grade.
- 32:41Speaker 1: He was the I'm sorry, fourth on PFF, third in
- 32:46Speaker 1: terms of QBR, which is ESPN's quarterback analytic. But he's
- 32:51Speaker 1: one in three in the playoffs and he's missed time
- 32:53Speaker 1: the last two seasons, so that's the knock against him.
- 32:55Speaker 1: But he really should be higher than this. This guy
- 32:58Speaker 1: should be a slam dunk top ten at this point,
- 33:00Speaker 1: and for whatever reason, like the eye test, and reality
- 33:05Speaker 1: is not matching up with the numbers because the numbers
- 33:07Speaker 1: say he is easily top ten. He's top five according
- 33:10Speaker 1: to the numbers, And yet both of us are like, yeah,
- 33:12Speaker 1: not really, Yeah, okay, all right, let's move on to
- 33:17Speaker 1: number twelve. Who do you oh, look at that Lord
- 33:22Speaker 1: agreement and shake rock Party at number twelve. I don't
- 33:28Speaker 1: think we have him high enough, but here we both
- 33:31Speaker 1: have him at number twelve. I still fall into the trap,
- 33:33Speaker 1: I will admit it of looking at him as a
- 33:36Speaker 1: seventh round pick. But all he's done is one He's
- 33:39Speaker 1: been to a super Bowl. The forty nine ers have
- 33:41Speaker 1: had double digit wins in three of the four seasons
- 33:43Speaker 1: where he's been the primary starting quarterback. I think he's
- 33:47Speaker 1: got the capability now. He showed it last year putting
- 33:49Speaker 1: the team on his back if he needs to. We
- 33:51Speaker 1: used to question that there's just other quarterbacks I like more.
- 33:55Speaker 1: But there's really nothing bad I can say about mister Party.
- 33:58Speaker 3: I'm going to rain on your parade a little bit.
- 34:00Speaker 4: He once again one of these guys where got hurt
- 34:03Speaker 4: for a couple weeks last year. Mac Jones came in
- 34:06Speaker 4: and completely showed us that there was not that big
- 34:10Speaker 4: of a drop off between the two because of the
- 34:12Speaker 4: talent surrounding them. I think that this offense is a
- 34:14Speaker 4: plug and play opportunity for any quarterback in the league.
- 34:17Speaker 4: If you put Rock Perdy and I have him ranked
- 34:20Speaker 4: higher than I think that I should. I just didn't
- 34:21Speaker 4: know where else to put him in comparison. But if
- 34:24Speaker 4: you plug him into one of these crappier teams around
- 34:27Speaker 4: the league, I don't think that it would be that
- 34:29Speaker 4: difference from whoever is leading the team. I think that
- 34:33Speaker 4: his I think that he gets hurt often, which is
- 34:35Speaker 4: an issue which we can blame it on the power plan.
- 34:37Speaker 4: Everybody out there is getting hurt all the time. Sorry
- 34:40Speaker 4: doctor Chow, but.
- 34:43Speaker 3: That's my thing is. I think that this offense.
- 34:45Speaker 4: Is built for literally you Kravitz. If you wanted to
- 34:48Speaker 4: play football tomorrow, thank you.
- 34:49Speaker 2: I think I could do it. I think I could
- 34:51Speaker 2: at least pick up some.
- 34:52Speaker 1: First downs in that forty nine ers offense. Thanks for
- 34:54Speaker 1: the not Where would I land inside of the top
- 34:56Speaker 1: twenty though, Kendro is the bigger question.
- 34:58Speaker 2: You know, we get there.
- 35:00Speaker 3: I still she's Bryce Young over you.
- 35:02Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Okay, that's fucked up, all right? Number eleven.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Let's round out the lists here on the Favorites podcasts
- 35:11Speaker 1: number eleven For me, Justin Herbert, I this is the
- 35:15Speaker 1: last move I made before we went live here.
- 35:19Speaker 2: I'd love Justin Herbert, but it's just hard to justify
- 35:23Speaker 2: it at this point. He should be so much better
- 35:26Speaker 2: than what he is. He uses talent, but the question
- 35:30Speaker 2: marks are obvious.
- 35:31Speaker 1: This guy should be putting up Dan Marino like numbers
- 35:33Speaker 1: with the talent that he possesses, and he just doesn't.
- 35:35Speaker 1: And the team around him has fallen apart at times.
- 35:38Speaker 1: But he should be good enough to overcome that in
- 35:40Speaker 1: the way that other guys that are in the top
- 35:42Speaker 1: ten overcome that, and Justin Herbert doesn't, so that's how
- 35:45Speaker 1: he lands out.
- 35:46Speaker 4: I think the glazing that the national media does for
- 35:50Speaker 4: Justin Herbert really helps him, Like it's free marketing for him,
- 35:53Speaker 4: the fact that all of these analysts just do tricks
- 35:56Speaker 4: on it. And I want to love him, but I
- 35:58Speaker 4: think that it helps him. That happens too. He looks
- 36:01Speaker 4: pretty well doing it, and there are throws and plays
- 36:04Speaker 4: that he makes that I just sit here and I'm like,
- 36:07Speaker 4: I he could be so much better if he I think,
- 36:11Speaker 4: do you think he's dumb Herbert, Yeah.
- 36:16Speaker 2: I think he. I don't think he's dumb.
- 36:22Speaker 1: I think he processes slow in the moment, so I
- 36:27Speaker 1: get where you're going. I think he's a highly intelligent
- 36:31Speaker 1: guy that just overthinks, so it slows down his process.
- 36:36Speaker 1: But it's not because of a lack of intelligence. I
- 36:39Speaker 1: get the impression that Justin Herbert is very smart.
- 36:42Speaker 3: I think he's a decision paralysis.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Yes, exactly, he's almost I think being sometimes we see
- 36:48Speaker 1: this in life. Sometimes being too smart is actually a
- 36:51Speaker 1: detriment to you and you don't function in life properly
- 36:54Speaker 1: like some other people do. And I think he would
- 36:57Speaker 1: fall into that bucket.
- 36:58Speaker 4: It's like when you go to a good rush that
- 37:00Speaker 4: you love and there's so many options on the menu
- 37:02Speaker 4: that you know are awesome, and you almost just want
- 37:05Speaker 4: to tell the waitress just order me whatever your favorite
- 37:08Speaker 4: is because there's too many options.
- 37:09Speaker 3: I can't decide.
- 37:10Speaker 4: That is Justin Herbert in this offense for me, and
- 37:13Speaker 4: that hinders him. And I think that that is my
- 37:15Speaker 4: biggest issue with him. Weird to say, I think he
- 37:19Speaker 4: would be better if he were on the Panthers and
- 37:21Speaker 4: truly only had one option and was just like fuck it.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Tetoro was down there somewhere.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, yeah, he is sort of like I think
- 37:28Speaker 1: Rock Party is like the opposite of him in a
- 37:30Speaker 1: lot of ways. And I think having a load of
- 37:32Speaker 1: talent and different ways that you can utilize that slows
- 37:35Speaker 1: down his process as well. Or he's he's got so
- 37:38Speaker 1: many options not only around him in terms of who
- 37:41Speaker 1: he can throw the ball to, but in the way
- 37:43Speaker 1: that he can use his talents, and it slows down
- 37:45Speaker 1: his process. Party doesn't have that a luxury. He's just like,
- 37:49Speaker 1: oh fuck it, I'll throw the ball because you know what,
- 37:52Speaker 1: I'm not working with anything here, so it's like, uh,
- 37:55Speaker 1: you know, it's like trying to drive the batmobile. I
- 37:57Speaker 1: think it would all slow us down initially. There's a
- 38:00Speaker 1: lot of buttons.
- 38:01Speaker 3: I have Caleb Williams here.
- 38:03Speaker 4: I would love to have him higher, but there I
- 38:06Speaker 4: think that the killer for me of not having him
- 38:08Speaker 4: in my top ten was Don't get me wrong, the
- 38:10Speaker 4: plays that we saw to end games and win games
- 38:13Speaker 4: from him last year were all time, but it didn't.
- 38:17Speaker 3: Have to get to that point.
- 38:19Speaker 4: There were moments where he could have closed out games
- 38:21Speaker 4: where greater quarterbacks and quarterbacks that I have higher on
- 38:24Speaker 4: this list would not have been put in that position.
- 38:27Speaker 4: And trust me, I understand that defense outside of their
- 38:30Speaker 4: secondary did not do them any favors of getting them
- 38:33Speaker 4: off the field and not letting other teams put points.
- 38:36Speaker 3: On the board. But that's still being said.
- 38:39Speaker 4: There were times as a quarterback where he did not
- 38:41Speaker 4: have to put himself in that position. And until he
- 38:45Speaker 4: learns to not have to rely on just his God
- 38:48Speaker 4: given athleticism at the end, last play, last moment, last
- 38:52Speaker 4: second of a game, I can't put him in my
- 38:54Speaker 4: top ten. As much as I love him and I
- 38:56Speaker 4: think that he's going to be great this season.
- 38:58Speaker 1: I think having Caleb Williams at eleven for you and
- 39:02Speaker 1: Justin Herbert at eleven for me, that is the perfect
- 39:06Speaker 1: way to sandwich in eleven, Like we love you, you
- 39:10Speaker 1: have everything, could you just do it better?
- 39:12Speaker 2: Please? Is how we view both of these guys.
- 39:15Speaker 1: All right, let's get to our draft Kings plant the
- 39:18Speaker 1: flag segment of the day, might and it shut up.
- 39:22Speaker 2: I'm trying to plant my flag here. Okay, you're really
- 39:25Speaker 2: planning your flag in that deck.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Our top twenty is just about wrapped, but we will
- 39:30Speaker 1: plant our flag on a season long prop for one
- 39:33Speaker 1: of the guys that we have already discussed on the
- 39:35Speaker 1: episode today, Kendra get Us.
- 39:39Speaker 4: Started, I have a Jackson Dart over five and a
- 39:44Speaker 4: half rushing touchdowns played to give you guys. Even if
- 39:48Speaker 4: Kravitz is right and he doesn't survive the season because
- 39:50Speaker 4: he doesn't know how to slide or to protect himself
- 39:54Speaker 4: in his brain, I think that this could hit before
- 39:57Speaker 4: that even happens to him, because we know what we
- 39:59Speaker 4: can do, know what he's capable of, and I think
- 40:01Speaker 4: at times, because of the offense that they're going to
- 40:03Speaker 4: run this year, he is going to be their best
- 40:05Speaker 4: option within the ten of the five because with all
- 40:08Speaker 4: these old guys that are weirdly going to draw attention
- 40:11Speaker 4: somehow that don't deserve to, I think that we could
- 40:13Speaker 4: be looking at this. So I'm gonna go with Jackson
- 40:16Speaker 4: Dart over the five and a half rushing touchdowns. I
- 40:18Speaker 4: think it's a decent play, even if we do see
- 40:20Speaker 4: a backup at some point.
- 40:22Speaker 1: He really only needs to play half the season at
- 40:24Speaker 1: another level in order to hit this, and Cam Skataboo
- 40:28Speaker 1: is probably gonna backflip his way out of the offense anyway.
- 40:31Speaker 3: So do we think that they're going to keep the
- 40:33Speaker 3: real grass.
- 40:36Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 40:37Speaker 1: I think these NFL teams don't like I don't know
- 40:40Speaker 1: if it's like a maintenance thing.
- 40:41Speaker 2: I haven't done a lot of grass research.
- 40:43Speaker 3: I have done a lot of grass research.
- 40:44Speaker 4: Actually, it's it's about the water, the maintenance, the upkeep,
- 40:48Speaker 4: the paint that it takes, having to pay the landscapers,
- 40:51Speaker 4: and mostly in the Northeast, unless you're in a dome,
- 40:54Speaker 4: it's obviously the weather and keeping that grass healthy and
- 40:56Speaker 4: in play shape. It just costs so much more money.
- 40:58Speaker 4: But for me, I'm looking at these millionaire owners and
- 41:01Speaker 4: I'm like, Okay, what costs more money maintaining that grass
- 41:04Speaker 4: for your number one receivers ACL let me know, and just.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Shoehorning in social issues.
- 41:10Speaker 1: If you didn't have that on your Bingo card today,
- 41:12Speaker 1: you've not been listening to this show long enough. I
- 41:15Speaker 1: have Rock Party twenty to one to win MVP. I
- 41:18Speaker 1: worry about CMC staying healthy. We've talked about this on
- 41:21Speaker 1: this podcast. I think that Purdy is good enough to
- 41:24Speaker 1: still crank out dubs if CMC has either slowed down
- 41:28Speaker 1: or just out of the offense altogether. They add Mike Evans,
- 41:30Speaker 1: they're getting George kittleback, and if Purdy is still putting
- 41:33Speaker 1: up numbers and they win double digit games, which the
- 41:36Speaker 1: odds makers project that they will do, that's going to
- 41:39Speaker 1: be a great campaign for Brock Party to win MVP.
- 41:42Speaker 1: So I've got him at twenty to one, already logged
- 41:44Speaker 1: in the app.
- 41:46Speaker 3: All right, I don't hate it, good luck.
- 41:49Speaker 4: I mean I do kind of hate it, but I
- 41:51Speaker 4: for you, I'll give it a C plus.
- 41:54Speaker 1: See this was This was us in a good mood.
- 41:58Speaker 1: We'll see what Through one as in store for us.
