- 0:00Speaker 1: Adam Lufko, Pedro Martinez, Jimmy Rollins, Curtis Granderson, and Mookie is.
- 0:06Speaker 2: In the.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Thanks for having me, guys, to come off the field,
- 0:11Speaker 1: to be with these beautiful gentlemen and to be up
- 0:14Speaker 1: three to zero.
- 0:14Speaker 3: How you feeling it feels amazing. It feels amazing. I
- 0:19Speaker 3: this is the guy I watched growing up. JA yeah,
- 0:22Speaker 3: j Row Petie. I got to spend a whole lot
- 0:24Speaker 3: of time with him in Boston and that was the home.
- 0:26Speaker 3: And then Kurt I got to play with him. So
- 0:28Speaker 3: I feel like I'm I'm old.
- 0:32Speaker 4: You unk up here. That's all it is. It's moving
- 0:36Speaker 4: on up. So before we get going, there's been a battle,
- 0:41Speaker 4: an ongoing conversation rather between Curtis and I about the
- 0:45Speaker 4: best athlete. Come on now, now you're a guy that
- 0:48Speaker 4: has done both. Is it the guys that plan a
- 0:51Speaker 4: dirk or the guys that plan a pasture?
- 0:54Speaker 3: The best athletes?
- 0:56Speaker 4: The best athlete?
- 0:57Speaker 3: Answer right now? Come on, athletes, I would saying, you
- 1:00Speaker 3: guys in the dirt, the guys in the dirt. Shadow.
- 1:06Speaker 4: If Mookie says in a settle, he's said, because he's
- 1:08Speaker 4: back in the dirt right now, you know you want
- 1:09Speaker 4: to be out there in that grandly gotta get this
- 1:11Speaker 4: grasses out there.
- 1:12Speaker 3: It was going while last I enjoy being in dirt.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Now what you guys, you start, you set the tone
- 1:19Speaker 1: right away off the top, show Hey, leadoff, triple get
- 1:22Speaker 1: knocked him home? What did it mean to see show
- 1:25Speaker 1: Hey get that hit? Because we were breaking down his
- 1:26Speaker 1: batting practice the other day. What kind of a tone
- 1:29Speaker 1: did that set for today?
- 1:30Speaker 3: It's huge? You know. I was talking to my wife
- 1:32Speaker 3: a little bit, and it's kind of like kind of
- 1:34Speaker 3: like the bulls playing without Michael Jordan's sometimes, you know.
- 1:37Speaker 3: And so we get him going, and then we're really
- 1:40Speaker 3: gonna be hard to beat, you know. So just to
- 1:42Speaker 3: get him, you see what happens immediately as soon as
- 1:45Speaker 3: he gets to hit, good things happen. And so I mean,
- 1:48Speaker 3: but he's he's gonna be there. He's gonna be there
- 1:50Speaker 3: when time, when the time is right. So we all
- 1:52Speaker 3: we all trust him to believe in showy.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Mooky how how I don't know comfortable you guys, knowing
- 2:00Speaker 2: that each one of those starters can go out there
- 2:03Speaker 2: and give you a legit opportunity to actually come back
- 2:07Speaker 2: or if you'll behind and go on and win it.
- 2:11Speaker 2: If you guys happen to go ahead.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't. I can't think of all the teams
- 2:16Speaker 3: I've been on, but like starters like this, I mean,
- 2:20Speaker 3: it's it's kind of unbelievable. I mean literally every game,
- 2:24Speaker 3: the guy, the starter can go seven seven shutout innings.
- 2:27Speaker 3: I mean, you can't really ask for a better squad.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Andrew Andrew put this this squad together. I mean, he's
- 2:33Speaker 3: he's amazing for that. And then for the boys to
- 2:36Speaker 3: actually perform, because it's one thing to be all be
- 2:38Speaker 3: out here on the team, but for them to go
- 2:40Speaker 3: out and do what they're doing, I mean, it doesn't
- 2:43Speaker 3: make it easy by any means. It's never easy.
- 2:45Speaker 2: But I mean, and how are you guys able to
- 2:48Speaker 2: block the noise with all the stars and all the
- 2:51Speaker 2: attention that you guys grow all around being here in Hollywood.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Why are you guys able to bluck everything and just
- 2:58Speaker 2: go out there and perform like you guys do.
- 3:02Speaker 3: I mean some of the experience, and honestly, I would
- 3:05Speaker 3: say most of it is just chemistry. Like it's it's
- 3:08Speaker 3: just if you're in that clubhouse and you feel the
- 3:10Speaker 3: love in there, you've been a part of clubhouses where
- 3:12Speaker 3: it's love and like, I bet those guys we're all
- 3:16Speaker 3: playing for each other. We don't really care about the
- 3:18Speaker 3: things that we do. It's like, oh, I want to
- 3:20Speaker 3: do it for you, I don't care about for me.
- 3:22Speaker 3: And so I think when those guys are going up
- 3:24Speaker 3: there pitching and you know, and the big situation is hitting,
- 3:27Speaker 3: it's like, no, I want to do it for the voice.
- 3:29Speaker 3: And I think that's just that's why we're so good.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Where does the calmness come from?
- 3:34Speaker 4: All your pictures never look like they're sweating, and that
- 3:36Speaker 4: song's out there beaten.
- 3:37Speaker 3: If you come over here look like you ain't played yet.
- 3:39Speaker 4: But even with the intros, y'all just come out take
- 3:42Speaker 4: the field, like all.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Right, here's another thing.
- 3:44Speaker 4: We're gonna go through our thing. Where does all that
- 3:45Speaker 4: just smoothness and calmness come from?
- 3:49Speaker 3: You know, we've obviously we've been here, we know what
- 3:52Speaker 3: it takes. But I think it's just the trust and
- 3:55Speaker 3: believe in each other. Like I think, I don't feel
- 3:59Speaker 3: like I have to do it. Tail doesn't feel like
- 4:01Speaker 3: he has to do it. Show Hey doesn't feel like
- 4:03Speaker 3: he has to do it. It's like, oh, if we
- 4:04Speaker 3: do it cool. If not, my boys got you so
- 4:06Speaker 3: And I think that really that really helps us a lot, man,
- 4:09Speaker 3: especially when it gets down late, you know, uh one
- 4:12Speaker 3: to one game or even late in the game. It's
- 4:14Speaker 3: like somebody is gonna get it, you know. And and
- 4:17Speaker 3: you didn't have to be you. And I think you know,
- 4:19Speaker 3: when you don't feel like it's on you, it's easier
- 4:21Speaker 3: to play.
- 4:22Speaker 1: And if it's not with the bats, it might be
- 4:24Speaker 1: the glove ninth inning. This guy does it again? Take
- 4:27Speaker 1: us through this play. What was going through your mind
- 4:29Speaker 1: and how you made it?
- 4:31Speaker 3: To be honest, I just kind of blacked out, just jumped.
- 4:35Speaker 3: I mean, I just you know, you just practice and
- 4:38Speaker 3: then eventually you just play. I mean, I think that's why.
- 4:43Speaker 3: I think that's that. I think that's the best athlete.
- 4:45Speaker 3: That's why it's the best athlete.
- 4:46Speaker 4: But you saw you feeling the ball you was in
- 4:48Speaker 4: the grass.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Yeah, that's something to think about.
- 4:50Speaker 4: You know, there is not a single outfield that can
- 4:52Speaker 4: make that play unless he's Mookie Bets. That went back
- 4:55Speaker 4: to being a short stop. Yeah.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the reason.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Why we get staying there. You guys get to go out.
- 5:01Speaker 4: But look, you have a question for you on the
- 5:03Speaker 4: outside being a Dodger. We know what it's like. We've
- 5:06Speaker 4: played all played against the Dodgers, and it's Hollywood and
- 5:08Speaker 4: it's glamb. But one thing I experienced, I think we
- 5:11Speaker 4: all did to be worth the uniform. When you get
- 5:13Speaker 4: in that clubhouse, it's about living up to that. So
- 5:16Speaker 4: being the best have you guys continued to do that
- 5:19Speaker 4: year after year after year, It's no longer you know,
- 5:22Speaker 4: we're just a Dodger's like, no, we're the bullets, Like
- 5:25Speaker 4: we're in Hollywood, but we're the bullies of baseball right now.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a standard that we set. I mean from
- 5:31Speaker 3: spring training on. It's we don't want to be the
- 5:34Speaker 3: just the most talented players. We want to be the
- 5:36Speaker 3: smartest players. We want to be the guys that show
- 5:39Speaker 3: up on time. We want to do all the little
- 5:41Speaker 3: things right. And I think when you continue to do
- 5:44Speaker 3: just stack positive days over and over again, everybody's out
- 5:47Speaker 3: here practicing. When we got workouts, everybody shows up to
- 5:50Speaker 3: the workouts, everybody's working. We've got team dinners, everybody's showing
- 5:54Speaker 3: up the team dinners. It's like that we all do
- 5:56Speaker 3: it together, and it's like the standard that we create
- 5:59Speaker 3: and I mean it's it's something that when you buy
- 6:01Speaker 3: in and you're a dodger, like you don't have a choice,
- 6:03Speaker 3: and I think.
- 6:05Speaker 5: Before you leave, and I know we'll have taken a
- 6:07Speaker 5: lot of your time, give me three awards to describe
- 6:12Speaker 5: Dave Roberts for you guys in the clubhouse and all aspects.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Of the game. Ah, intelligent. I think that's where a
- 6:23Speaker 3: lot of the calmness comes from. And honestly, I'll at
- 6:29Speaker 3: on the opposite of there's fire because during the game,
- 6:32Speaker 3: Doc gets fired up and then he gets us going.
- 6:35Speaker 3: But it's also like right after he gets us fired up,
- 6:38Speaker 3: he's calm and he believes in us. And then you
- 6:41Speaker 3: see how he manages the bluepling, you see how he
- 6:42Speaker 3: manages personalities, you see how he manages just us as
- 6:46Speaker 3: a group, and like he's just you know, I think,
- 6:50Speaker 3: I think he's one of the best you know, and
- 6:51Speaker 3: I love and I'll never I'll never say anything bad
- 6:56Speaker 3: about Dave Roberts because he's amazing in my eyes.
