- 0:30
All right, God bless everybody.
- 0:42
Thank you for those that have been listening and for those
- 0:45
that are new welcome. Amen.
- 0:48
But before we always, we always start, we always pray so.
- 0:52
All right. Thank you Father, for everything
- 0:58
that You've done. You are the one true living God,
- 1:03
and there's no one who is greater than You.
- 1:07
You are sufficient in our moments of temptation.
- 1:12
You, O Lord, are the only thing we should be running to because
- 1:16
You are the solution for it. We cannot fight our own battles,
- 1:21
for we are weak. And O Lord, remind us, O Lord,
- 1:26
that we are weak, and for that reason we need to come to You
- 1:29
every time. Holy and mighty you are.
- 1:33
And there's no one who is greater than you.
- 1:35
Lead us to the absolute truth, for there's no one who is
- 1:40
greater than you. Amen.
- 1:41
Amen. All right, So I know before we
- 1:48
talk before, like in another episode, we did talk about
- 1:53
fleeing to righteousness, right? Yeah.
- 1:58
You know, I kind of, I kind of want to talk today, bro, a
- 2:00
little bit like, like how, how we, how we feel when we're being
- 2:05
tempted so people can have perspective because like, right,
- 2:09
you know, a lot of people I guess that are new here.
- 2:12
Yeah, yeah. Maybe it's a it's a new thing
- 2:14
that you guys hear someone speaking like, oh, flee to
- 2:17
righteousness because you know, some pastors, some people, some
- 2:20
leaders, they tell them, oh, you know, you should go for a walk,
- 2:23
you should go on a bike ride, right, right.
- 2:25
You should go hang out with your friends.
- 2:27
Not but the scripture says flee to righteousness, submit to God,
- 2:31
right? So if you do flee to those
- 2:35
things and using the and you're using them as a coping
- 2:38
mechanism, eventually when you get back, the temptation will
- 2:42
still be there. But when you dwell among the
- 2:46
presence of God, temptation like it let go it let's go of you and
- 2:53
you feel like this victory. Yeah, exactly this win.
- 2:56
So how do you feel when you're being, like, tempted?
- 3:05
Well, well, just depends on and everybody, right?
- 3:12
Yeah. They could have different the,
- 3:15
the, the, the desire is there, but the, the, the need of
- 3:20
something could be different for you, for me, right.
- 3:23
Like, for example, and it's the most common thing amongst
- 3:30
Christian men or believers in our modern time.
- 3:35
And I'm just going to say bluntly is, you know, perhaps,
- 3:38
maybe now the access to pornography, and that's a, a
- 3:44
common factor for all Christian men.
- 3:46
I know it's comfortable, right? I know you're like, Oh my God,
- 3:48
here we go. But that's just like in a broad
- 3:53
sense. Yeah.
- 3:55
Within that there's many different types of plantation.
- 4:00
One is into something, you would call it like a in the secular
- 4:05
world, like a kink or whatever, right into certain specific
- 4:10
things within that world. Yeah.
- 4:14
And everybody experiences them differently, watches it or falls
- 4:19
into the station of watching it. And even speaking to you about
- 4:22
it is very weird. I also don't want to use this as
- 4:25
a form of therapy, but right. Right.
- 4:28
Yeah. Why I bring that up because I'm
- 4:30
using the most common one. But then I will touch other
- 4:32
other things that others don't go through.
- 4:34
It's just certainly just me, right?
- 4:36
Right. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:37
But. When, when growing up or or at
- 4:42
least before I got serious back in 20, 2012, you know, I was
- 4:46
like a young man, I believe. Well, the besides the fact that
- 4:51
I'm a believer also you as a young man, you know, the desire
- 4:55
to want to self satisfy. You have this, this, this
- 4:57
impulse to want to feel satisfied, right?
- 5:00
Your hormones are just you're young, you're young, you're,
- 5:03
you're designed to procreate. So you want to like release.
- 5:06
So you want, you have that desire, right?
- 5:08
Yeah. And so for a guy, the hormones
- 5:11
are like a 24/7 reset reset. Yeah, it always resets.
- 5:15
Ready the next day, ready the next day, you know, and so that
- 5:19
that sometimes women understand that the guy just feels this way
- 5:23
pretty much all the time, right, right.
- 5:27
So that's why like that's why they they shun on the men, like
- 5:31
all men are unloyal. That statistically speaking can
- 5:37
be true in the secular world. I'm sure in the in the in the
- 5:42
Christian world that may not be the case maybe still a number
- 5:46
there. But so because I am saying that
- 5:50
every time you know, I was in the service of God.
- 5:54
It could be preaching out industry or writing a Christian
- 5:58
music you're reading scripture and all that being involved one
- 6:02
of my friends being like a mentor to me.
- 6:05
I would always find myself like in in a place where the moment I
- 6:12
felt like I, I went to my like to my room, or if I was assuming
- 6:16
slightly by myself, I almost felt like I felt like if, if, if
- 6:21
I didn't go occupy myself with something else, I would like
- 6:24
immediately fall into that. And I'll tell you that in the
- 6:27
beginning I started doing that without knowing right with what
- 6:31
you said. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:32
Right. And the struggle of a of a man
- 6:37
was already there. But now when I got serious with
- 6:39
God, it was different, right? The fear of the Lord was there.
- 6:43
So I was just like, God, please have mercy.
- 6:46
This desire is a brilliant man. It it it persecutes me because
- 6:52
like, I want to do it. Yeah.
- 6:55
Simultaneously, I don't want to, right?
- 6:57
Do you know what I? Mean.
- 6:58
Yeah, yeah. Like you, you feel like you're
- 7:00
just like, oh Lord, this. Is.
- 7:03
Like so I feel so unworthy like right now, right?
- 7:05
Exactly. We're talking about 2011 towards
- 7:08
2012. And that time I wasn't
- 7:11
necessarily reading scripture as much as I would until it got
- 7:13
serious. And then I started reading about
- 7:15
Romans and I, I come across when Paul says before I find this
- 7:20
mystery within the flesh tells about all these things and he
- 7:23
says how that what I want to do. I don't do what I want to do.
- 7:29
I don't do it right. And then I felt like kind of
- 7:31
like relating to him. I was like, alright, well, there
- 7:33
you go. I feel that.
- 7:36
So glory to God, I've been able to from that time, 2012 until
- 7:44
2016, maybe even 18I managed to stay strong.
- 7:48
But in those moments of that, I've, I've stretched it.
- 7:53
I've also sometimes gotten into the trap of fleeing, not
- 7:56
necessarily towards righteousness, but I would flee
- 7:59
into these little things. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:02
Music or I would do I would get occupied right, because I I felt
- 8:06
that that what you said, what what do we feel when we get
- 8:09
into? And so the the best, you know,
- 8:14
and I'm sure Errol the man will pull this.
- 8:15
Whoever's listening will relate to will relate to this.
- 8:18
It's like it's this is this is not, it's not like basically for
- 8:23
for me, like if let's say I'll have a long day, if I go into my
- 8:26
room already the the room, the the body has memory.
- 8:32
Yeah. Of a moment of relaxing.
- 8:34
Now the flesh is it. We need to release.
- 8:37
We need to release. And like, simultaneously, I get
- 8:40
almost excited that I'm about to do that and I catch myself
- 8:44
thinking already I'm entering into a battle.
- 8:49
Absolutely. Right at that moment.
- 8:51
Do you know how that feels? You know what that.
- 8:52
Feels like yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 8:53
You like some for some reason, you walk into your room where
- 8:58
you sleep and you feel like I'm about to about to release and
- 9:02
you almost like even get excited about it, right?
- 9:05
But then you catch yourself. Why?
- 9:06
Why are you thinking like this? Yeah, yeah.
- 9:09
They're like, Oh my God, no, I'm going to, I'm not going to leave
- 9:11
this room. What should you have done at
- 9:13
that moment rather than leaving? Should have immediately gone to
- 9:16
God. Right on.
- 9:17
Your knees on your. Knees pray, right?
- 9:19
So that that's a moment where at least I can describe it that
- 9:25
way. I hate it so much that
- 9:29
simultaneously when I'm about to be alone, it almost excites
- 9:35
itself. Yeah, like, no, I totally always
- 9:38
we're. Alone.
- 9:38
And we're about to release, right?
- 9:40
Yeah. And we're like, wait, what?
- 9:42
Right. Yeah.
- 9:43
Yeah, yeah. No, 'cause you know, the flesh
- 9:45
wants to do what the flesh wants to do, but the Spirit wants to
- 9:48
do what the spirit wants to do. Exactly.
- 9:49
So it's like there's like a battle going on right there
- 9:52
between the flesh and the Spirit.
- 9:54
Yeah, yeah. That's the best the the the
- 9:57
expression expression I can right?
- 9:59
I can give at least for me, right?
- 10:00
That's on the most common thing every guy goes through.
- 10:04
On top of that, you might go through like other things that
- 10:08
you're into. Absolutely.
- 10:10
Yeah. But that, that's one thing I can
- 10:12
describe to you that occasionally even till right now
- 10:14
happens. And that's not to say that
- 10:17
doesn't mean I speak, as I'm not in a walk with that.
- 10:19
No, Right, Right. It's just.
- 10:22
To start with, we are designed to procreate, right, right?
- 10:27
And since, you know, we're single, the body feels that like
- 10:31
that design, right? And so although that's even an
- 10:34
element already, now what of now the element of when temptation
- 10:38
is involved? And then since scratching out
- 10:40
the door, all these other things also compound to it, right?
- 10:44
Then all of a sudden you get bombarded.
- 10:46
Yeah, demons too. Spiritual.
- 10:48
Beings you know. All that, all that stuff.
- 10:50
Right, then all of this starts to happen.
- 10:53
Besides the fact that you already are a man, or vice
- 10:57
versa, you have that impulse, right?
- 11:01
Already, Naturally. Yeah.
- 11:02
Yeah. And.
- 11:03
And because of our good and bad, now that desire gets magnified
- 11:08
right here. Then comes plantation and the
- 11:11
enemy trying to attribute the demon trying to influence you.
- 11:14
And all of these elements compound at the same time,
- 11:17
right? Especially trust me when I tell
- 11:19
you, these beings behind the scenes, they know you're a
- 11:23
believer. They're after you, right?
- 11:26
The scripture wouldn't say then that the enemy is like the
- 11:28
lying, roaring, lying you can devout.
- 11:30
Exactly. So in regards to sexual
- 11:33
temptation, I can confidently say this is something that
- 11:36
we've, we feel it's almost like, or if, maybe if I can like
- 11:41
pretty much describe it this way, it's almost like that
- 11:45
excitement, it causes anxiety at the same time, but then at the
- 11:48
same time you're like, why is this happening?
- 11:50
Yeah, yeah. Like you get anxious to, to like
- 11:53
because you know your flesh wants it badly and you.
- 11:55
Yeah. But you, like, know you want it?
- 11:57
Yeah. But at the same time, because
- 11:59
you fear the Lord so much, you do not want to go on to it.
- 12:02
So there's like that. Line right there that if you
- 12:04
don't say no, yeah, you're complete to him.
- 12:08
Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. But if that fine language is
- 12:10
ignoring right, you succumb to it Exactly.
- 12:15
So yeah, that's that's where by expression, that's what I can, I
- 12:22
can feel sometime, most of the time.
- 12:24
Yeah, no, yeah, No, it's true because look, we're not saying
- 12:30
that. I I think like a previous
- 12:32
episode a while back, we talked about should a Christian always
- 12:35
be struggling with loss now? Like there's always going to be
- 12:40
battles, right? But there's a difference when
- 12:43
you always give into it, you keep giving in to it, keep
- 12:45
giving in to it, keep Then at that point, you're just, that's
- 12:47
not even a stroke. That's not even a stroke.
- 12:48
Yeah, exactly. No, yeah.
- 12:50
But that's no, no, maybe that is the struggle.
- 12:52
But the but the struggle is always being one like that that
- 12:55
like that struggle that the flesh gives you.
- 12:57
It's always winning. It's always winning that sin is
- 12:59
always winning and you're giving your obedience to it.
- 13:02
That's something completely different we're talking about
- 13:05
like when you're in that mode of suffering because your flesh
- 13:08
wants to do it, but you're but the fear that you have for God,
- 13:12
it's like it's over. You know, it's overcoming that
- 13:15
temptation where you're able to say no, but still you're still
- 13:18
suffering because of it. There's a difference.
- 13:21
You know, when I hear like followers saying like, oh, you
- 13:24
know, I keep falling, I keep falling, keep falling.
- 13:26
Well, where's your faith? Where's your faith?
- 13:30
Where's your fight? Where's, where you know, that's
- 13:33
why the, the, the, I'm, I'm assuming, you know, let's be
- 13:36
real here, that the apostles, the followers, you know, of, of,
- 13:40
of Christ during that time, they, they were out and about,
- 13:45
they were probably fit. They probably had really good
- 13:48
testosterone. Yeah, their, their, their levels
- 13:52
now that we know a little bit more than they did.
- 13:53
Right, right. Yeah, yeah, I'm.
- 13:54
Sure that their levels were low more.
- 13:58
Yeah. Better than ours.
- 14:00
Better than ours. They're receiving vitamins and
- 14:03
from foods that nutrition from food that we probably don't
- 14:06
receive on the daily. So what I'm saying is that like
- 14:09
they also had their battles, but they understood yo enjoy it.
- 14:12
Trusting God, trusting God that He is, is a true source of
- 14:17
strength. Would you say now, would you say
- 14:20
because their source of of food or intake, whatever they may be,
- 14:29
since it was so at its purest form, would you say that in our
- 14:33
time, because everything has chemicals and preservatives and
- 14:36
all this, it's almost like already another thing that kind
- 14:40
of already sets us up for failure because it puts our
- 14:42
hormones out of balance. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 14:44
And all of this. And that's another thing that we
- 14:46
have to. Like undergo, right, right.
- 14:47
Exactly. No, no, it's true because a lot
- 14:50
of people, I mean, this is just statistics.
- 14:52
It could be wrong. You know, the only the only
- 14:55
calculate certain people. But like even let's say like the
- 14:59
strength of a man decreases every year.
- 15:02
There's more people with suicidal rates, probably because
- 15:05
you know, there's so much like chemical imbalance.
- 15:07
And then on top of that you have demons attacking you and the
- 15:10
flesh is attacking you. All these things are attacking
- 15:12
you. And just like kids also with
- 15:16
that are born with defects because of foods, you know, and
- 15:21
cancer has increased, so many things have increased.
- 15:23
So it's like, yeah, like nowadays it's like there's just
- 15:27
a imbalance of everything. So more than ever, we should
- 15:30
just trust God and and all that he he is, you know.
- 15:34
And it's tough because, well, today money talks, right?
- 15:40
It does, yeah. And unfortunately, you have to
- 15:44
make a certain amount of money to, to kind of have that
- 15:46
lifestyle to kind of have somewhat of a balance, right, in
- 15:50
regards to being healthy, eating healthy, working out and all
- 15:53
that, right? We don't, at least in this
- 15:56
world, or at least in the the main cities and suburbs.
- 16:00
No one does agriculture unless you're like in the countryside.
- 16:04
Yeah, in the countryside. Yeah, the farm, right, Right.
- 16:09
But that's another element too, right?
- 16:11
Yeah, that that couldn't interfere because you're right.
- 16:15
They they experienced the same thing.
- 16:18
They were able to speak about it, so they knew.
- 16:20
So they knew, yeah. But also.
- 16:25
But there were also times where they didn't even get to eat.
- 16:27
That is true. So that would also cause also
- 16:30
some of unbalance to in their in their system because they just
- 16:33
wouldn't eat. Exactly.
- 16:35
They had to eat at least something right?
- 16:38
So they, they, we could say that they've.
- 16:42
They experienced it all, like, right.
- 16:44
Like what is of the flesh? They experienced it all.
- 16:46
So yeah. And even more than ever, like,
- 16:48
I, I mean, no, it's probably just as bad as today.
- 16:52
But like, you know, back then they still have like, temples
- 16:54
where they were have, you know, like a bunch of orgasms,
- 16:57
literally porn. I don't know.
- 16:58
He said no, no, He speaks about that in Romans, Yeah.
- 17:00
Orgies. Exactly.
- 17:02
Orgies. Like right there you were able
- 17:03
to just walk in and it was a thing and enjoy it.
- 17:06
Societal. Thing right, right.
- 17:07
So they, they experienced everything pretty much like what
- 17:10
we experience, you know, now, like you said, in today's time,
- 17:13
it's just more magnified. It's more, it's everywhere, you
- 17:16
know, you could be scrolling and all of a sudden something that
- 17:19
triggers your flesh spikes, it like all of a sudden, like
- 17:23
you're just like battling now. Yeah, yeah.
- 17:25
You know. And back then it was more like
- 17:27
you had to either like, go see it or maybe there might be a
- 17:31
chance where someone might be walking naked and then you start
- 17:34
lusting, you know. So it's.
- 17:36
It's interesting though. Yeah, yeah.
- 17:38
And that's just something that it's common amongst men and,
- 17:43
well, I wouldn't say all women, right?
- 17:45
But well, now with all of this, what's that?
- 17:51
What's that word promiscuity that women have now and the
- 17:57
social platform that they, you know, promote their bodies and
- 18:01
all that stuff. That's just at another level.
- 18:04
Yeah. This is an abomination, really.
- 18:06
But that's just something I use, but I also have other things of
- 18:10
my own right, right. And everybody like, for example,
- 18:12
I always say, well, there's something wrong with secular
- 18:15
music. Well, I'm a musician.
- 18:17
So that's, that's another thing, right?
- 18:20
Because as a musician, I, I know the context of, of chord
- 18:24
progressions and how that affects your emotions and what
- 18:26
that does, right? You would think like, oh, I'm
- 18:29
feeling the Holy Spirit. No, you just like the chord
- 18:33
progression the way it's was produced, yeah.
- 18:37
That right exactly. And that kind of just tricks you
- 18:41
as a musician. Yeah.
- 18:43
And in the Christian community, there's not like great music, if
- 18:49
I'm be honest, like in regards to that production.
- 18:51
Yeah, no, yeah, it's always. Going to be in the secular word
- 18:54
that the the music is much more. Yeah.
- 18:56
Like greatly. I agree.
- 18:59
And better production, right? So that for me as a musician is
- 19:03
a a temptation, especially if God has called me out,
- 19:07
especially when James sends a few to you.
- 19:09
If it is a sin, if it's been revealed to you and you don't do
- 19:13
it to do it, the good to. Do it is a sin exactly.
- 19:16
So like even for me that, that, you know, rejecting some gigs,
- 19:21
like secular gigs, I still get them.
- 19:23
Like it's not like before, right?
- 19:24
It's just barely anything. Call me once every 2-3 months,
- 19:29
but there's always that. Why not make some extra cash?
- 19:34
At what expense? I'm getting, right?
- 19:37
I'm getting involved with people who are don't believe in God,
- 19:40
get involved in the atmosphere. It's just, it's just a lot of
- 19:42
things, right, You know? Right, right, right.
- 19:44
No, it's true. And so that that to me is is a
- 19:49
temptation that I undergo as a musician.
- 19:53
Yeah. No as working out.
- 19:55
Not necessarily. I've never had that issue when I
- 19:58
was working out. Because in the beginning when I
- 20:01
decided to lose weight, it was because I was in 2009, like
- 20:05
severely overweight. Yeah, yeah.
- 20:06
And they told me that my health condition.
- 20:08
So I was like, you know, I started working out.
- 20:10
A friend of mine and my brother started helping me out.
- 20:12
I just went running, running, running.
- 20:14
Then I started lifting weight because I felt relaxing, right.
- 20:17
But there was a side effect of that.
- 20:19
The more I would lift, the side effect of feeling the desire of
- 20:22
wanting to satisfy became greater.
- 20:24
Yeah. Yeah.
- 20:25
Like. Right.
- 20:27
I was anticipating that. So that's pretty much it in
- 20:32
regards to music. I would assume that every guy
- 20:36
also is it's weakness is the woman.
- 20:41
And so in our time, we have this tendency to to come up almost
- 20:47
like worship it. Yeah.
- 20:49
And and run after it like a like a dog would chase it.
- 20:54
You know it's toy when you you throw it at it.
- 20:56
Right, it's true. Yeah, so like that's another
- 20:58
thing. So that that's so much that
- 21:00
would be my issue. But music, but quite honestly,
- 21:03
anything after that just I'm not saying it like perfect anything
- 21:07
that but I always just run to to Christ, right.
- 21:10
Yeah, but for you what? What is what you express?
- 21:16
Well, I mean if you is. There a way?
- 21:18
Do you describe that form of temptation?
- 21:21
Like form of temptation? Yeah, like, yo, when I'm being
- 21:24
tempted, like when I'm being tempted hard and I just do not
- 21:27
want to give in because like of my fear for God, my, my respect
- 21:32
for God 'cause I know God is a holy God.
- 21:34
He does not dwell in sin, you know, he does not delight in
- 21:36
sin. You know, when I'm, when my,
- 21:41
when my mind is racing right with, with thoughts and my mind
- 21:46
starts to shift back and forth. God, you are holy and in
- 21:50
temptation tries to fight back. God, you're a whole like I'm
- 21:54
just like, and in those moments, bro, I like my heart is so
- 21:58
deceiving. I started to like feel within my
- 22:02
heart like like man, dude, I'm so unworthy.
- 22:05
I'm so unworthy because I know how I know that God is a holy
- 22:09
God. He's he is so holy that we don't
- 22:11
even know how like truly like holy he is.
- 22:13
We just know that he's beyond, beyond, beyond.
- 22:16
And when I'm going through those moments, I just feel so
- 22:19
unworthy, bro. Even though I'm battling and I
- 22:21
have not given in to the temptation, still I still feel
- 22:24
so unworthy. You know what I mean?
- 22:27
Yeah. Yeah.
- 22:27
Like, like, oh, man, this is messed up.
- 22:30
This is so messed up. It well that's what I was trying
- 22:33
to say yeah when you're like you go into that you go into your
- 22:36
room and like you got the speed of light right wow great yeah
- 22:41
we're gonna. Yeah, yeah, Yeah.
- 22:42
Well. You're like, wait, what?
- 22:44
Exactly. You're like God, what I might
- 22:46
think. Why am I thinking like?
- 22:48
This. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:48
You're just like, this is not right.
- 22:50
Like have mercy on me. Right.
- 22:52
Yeah, because, you know, Christ, Christ did say we're not going
- 22:55
to skip over that. Christ did say if you've done it
- 22:58
in your heart, you've already committed it.
- 23:01
So that's what I'm saying. Like when I have those moments
- 23:03
where I'm fighting like, and going to God and I'm like, God,
- 23:06
take this away from you now. God let's God, you know, allows
- 23:10
you to suffer, allows you to suffer.
- 23:13
He allows because, you know, James does talk about let
- 23:15
suffering play its full effect. So at the end you lack nothing,
- 23:20
right? So in those moments were like
- 23:22
temptation and I'm praying to God and it's still there, right?
- 23:25
I still keep fighting. I still keep fighting and I tell
- 23:28
God I'm like God, you know, I believe that you're gonna take
- 23:30
this away. My faith, my loyalty is to you.
- 23:34
And I do not want to like think about this anymore.
- 23:37
It keeps racing in my mind. Exactly.
- 23:39
OK, so that's a good thing that you're saying that because when
- 23:43
you're in that, you're literally being honest.
- 23:46
Yeah. God, what is what is this?
- 23:47
Exactly what? Is going on.
- 23:51
Here, right, because you don't, you don't know what's like what
- 23:53
to do. You're just like God, like.
- 23:55
You're just like, it's, it's almost because I'm like from
- 24:00
within you, you can almost identify the one who is you and
- 24:04
the one who is not you. Yes, because there have been
- 24:07
moments where I catch myself, I'm like, no, I'm making myself
- 24:11
lost. And then there are moments where
- 24:12
it's like, where is this coming from?
- 24:15
And I have to be honest with myself.
- 24:17
The moments I catch myself, I'm making myself lost.
- 24:20
I immediately like tell God, I'm like, God, I'm sorry, this is
- 24:22
just me. But then when it's something
- 24:24
fight like behind the scenes, like or my flesh or anything
- 24:27
that this trying to like, you know, come to me behind the
- 24:31
scenes, that's when I like, I'm like, God, what is this?
- 24:34
I don't know what to do, you know?
- 24:37
It's like, but this is not just on the desire of the flesh or in
- 24:42
regards to your sexuality, right?
- 24:44
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But lust can also be an
- 24:45
anything. Absolutely.
- 24:47
It could be an absolute anything, right, In regards to
- 24:50
the bloodlust you like killing Yeah.
- 24:53
And if let's say you, you ran from that, you came to God and
- 24:58
you and then now you feel that impulsion to wanna that maybe it
- 25:04
might be you or something else and you're just like, what is
- 25:07
going on, right, right. It could be the.
- 25:09
Loss full of materials. Yeah, all of this, the vanity of
- 25:12
life. It could be anything.
- 25:13
Yeah, it could be homosexuality. Anything.
- 25:15
Anything. Yeah.
- 25:16
For example, like a contractor was like, you know, hey man, I'm
- 25:21
going to he he said a a curse word like I'm not going to say,
- 25:24
but I'm going to make, I want, I'm going to teach you how to
- 25:27
make blank money, right word. And I'm like, oh, really?
- 25:32
Well, yeah, that would be great. I would like to be able to
- 25:35
acquire an amount of finances, right, to be able to help
- 25:39
people. That's what I said to him
- 25:41
because but, but in a split second I was like, I wanted to
- 25:45
say, yeah, right. And I was like, we I want to
- 25:51
yeah, yeah, I greatly, I really want to yeah.
- 25:55
But then I was like, no, I'm here to serve my Lord, to feed
- 25:59
and and give him to drink. Exactly.
- 26:01
That's what I'm here for. Exactly.
- 26:02
Exactly. So like, even in those moments
- 26:05
as a business owner, dude, I've snapped, I've snap out.
- 26:07
Of it, yeah, yeah. You know, exactly.
- 26:09
And so, and that's just a, that's a temptation because if I
- 26:13
were to, to actually go all hell, bro, it, it, the results
- 26:17
for the world tours or for someone in the world would be
- 26:20
great. But I I would, I think I would
- 26:23
lose myself. Now, you, you would probably
- 26:25
neglect your spiritual life, right?
- 26:27
Yeah, yeah. And that's when I like, it's
- 26:31
like simultaneously I'm like, that'd be great, right in my
- 26:37
thoughts. I'm like, Nope, this is what I'm
- 26:39
going to say. Nope, this is not what I'm going
- 26:41
to say. This is what I'm going to say,
- 26:41
right, right. I was like I would like to
- 26:43
acquire a significant amount of finances so that I can help
- 26:45
people. Yeah.
- 26:48
And as you know, we're helping people, right?
- 26:50
Yeah. Yeah.
- 26:51
Even without acquiring those finances.
- 26:53
Exactly, Exactly. With the nonprofit that we're
- 26:55
doing. So.
- 26:56
Right. I'm just saying that lossful
- 26:58
things, the desires, the temptation, it could be
- 27:00
anything. Doesn't have to be like you're
- 27:02
lost, right? It could be you envy something,
- 27:05
or jealousy or materialist. It could be anything.
- 27:10
Yeah. The vanity of life, Jack, trying
- 27:12
to pursue your career life. Yeah.
- 27:14
You know what I mean? No, no, it's true.
- 27:15
Exactly. And and your heart will always,
- 27:19
always never trust or even try to deceive you because in those
- 27:23
moments of where I'm just like God, I feel so unworthy.
- 27:26
Those moments, I feel almost like a shame to go to God.
- 27:30
But I know that's just my heart. I don't want, I never want to
- 27:33
use that excuse that a lot of Christians use.
- 27:35
Oh, I'm not perfect. God understands.
- 27:37
I'll never want to use something like that because to me that
- 27:41
just sounds like a cowardly excuse.
- 27:44
It sounds like, well, I'm too weak.
- 27:45
I'm just going to give in. Dude, and I will tell you that
- 27:50
has happened. To me in the past, no, me too.
- 27:52
Me too. I'm like, what?
- 27:54
Right. You could have literally just
- 27:56
owned this. Yeah, with God strengthening, he
- 27:58
just. You just want it.
- 28:00
Exactly. Now, yes, we are.
- 28:04
We are unworthy. Absolutely.
- 28:06
It's true that the heart is not lying to me there, but however,
- 28:10
that doesn't give me the the right or to, to to just be like
- 28:14
I'm just going to give and I can't do this.
- 28:16
No, that's why that's why the apostles kept writing.
- 28:20
Enjoy the suffering. Let it play out with full
- 28:22
effect. So you will lack a nothing
- 28:25
exactly because you know, in those moments where you do not
- 28:28
allow temptation to, to make you fall, you actually gain more
- 28:33
wisdom because you're not double minded.
- 28:36
You are trusting in God, and you if you ask God, He will give it
- 28:39
to you. The double minded would
- 28:41
otherwise be letting your heart condemn you.
- 28:44
Yes. And you're giving into that and
- 28:47
you actually believe it. And you chosen the capacity in
- 28:49
which the condemnation that the the heart provides.
- 28:54
Yes to your life, exactly do. You know what I mean?
- 28:56
No, no, no, absolutely. Exactly.
- 28:58
Yeah, yeah. So that that's that's intense
- 29:02
because we're talking about this, right?
- 29:05
We say like some believers, like I came to Christ, sin supposed
- 29:10
to be wiped off what? Yeah, I don't know where they
- 29:13
get that from. Bro, we're not exempt from sin.
- 29:16
We're not, you know, I asked the question.
- 29:18
We're just ruling over it. That's that's it because.
- 29:21
Our allegiance is to God through Christ, like, like Paul said.
- 29:25
Exactly because of Christ, we're able to overcome it.
- 29:28
And I I asked a question the other day to a Bible study.
- 29:31
I was like, yo, did Christ come to die for sin?
- 29:36
Or did he come to die for the forgiveness of sin, meaning you
- 29:41
have access to God not to ask for forgiveness?
- 29:44
And they all were like, well, that's a good question.
- 29:47
And and they came to conclusion he came to die for the
- 29:50
forgiveness of sin, Right, Right.
- 29:51
If he had to come and die, if he actually came to die for sin,
- 29:55
yeah, yeah, yeah. For sin himself.
- 29:56
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Honestly, bro, if that was true,
- 30:02
then it makes sense why sin would be wiped out of your life.
- 30:05
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But he came to die so you can
- 30:07
have access to the Father. So enjoy the suffering.
- 30:11
Yeah, and it's not like prior to Christ, no one had access to the
- 30:14
Father. It just wasn't enough.
- 30:17
Exactly the blood of. Christ is what makes it.
- 30:19
Enough. Amen.
- 30:20
Right. Amen.
- 30:21
And so to to say, oh, he died for my sins.
- 30:25
It's done what? You're still going to battle,
- 30:28
brother? Yeah, it's.
- 30:30
And the suffering that the pulses talk about, it's not just
- 30:32
necessarily being ridiculed for being a Christian or not eating
- 30:36
for days because you're trying to.
- 30:37
No, no, that's also true. All of that is true.
- 30:40
But also the suffering that the the flesh is going to put up
- 30:43
with you. Yeah.
- 30:43
And Paul talks about neglectation.
- 30:45
We've talked about this in other episodes.
- 30:46
Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly the. Spirit and the flesh are on
- 30:49
contrary for that reason, right? So that you don't get to do what
- 30:53
you want, He says in Romans. Almost like that what you want
- 30:57
to do you don't do and that what you don't want to do.
- 31:03
You do, you do, right? Exactly.
- 31:05
He's literally expressing the Spirit in the flesh right at the
- 31:08
same time. But the Spirit wants to do that
- 31:11
good thing, but the flesh doesn't want to do it.
- 31:14
And that what? And that what you don't want to
- 31:16
do, which is the Spirit doesn't want to do, the flesh wants to
- 31:19
do it. Exactly.
- 31:20
Exactly. And he correlates that by
- 31:23
saying, here I have the law, I get to serve God with my mind
- 31:27
with the law, his law, freedom versus on the other hand, with
- 31:31
the law of the flesh versus law of sin, right, Right.
- 31:35
So child, deliver me from this. So this is all things that we're
- 31:37
talking about. We're just going right now to
- 31:38
the core of it, right? What's going on from within,
- 31:42
right? It's the struggle.
- 31:45
You should, you should not want to be in the struggle.
- 31:46
You should want to be in the suffering, right?
- 31:49
Because the struggle is you're struggling, you're tugging.
- 31:51
Yeah, yeah. The suffering is.
- 31:54
You're doing it but. But it hurts.
- 31:57
Like, yeah, exactly, bro. Like when you, when you're doing
- 32:00
like a bicep curl, you know, it hurts, you know, your bicep
- 32:04
hurts, you feel the squeeze and it hurts and the tenses up.
- 32:07
Yeah. But like you're going through
- 32:08
the suffering and you're doing it.
- 32:10
Yeah. So in that same way, you know,
- 32:11
as a follower of Christ, thanks be to Christ, we can do
- 32:14
everything right. Yeah.
- 32:15
You know, doesn't, don't, don't look to your left or to your
- 32:18
right, look to Christ. And because of that, you know,
- 32:20
we're able to overcome anything. And, and, and if you're pulling,
- 32:25
you know, if you're going to Christ, you're going to suffer,
- 32:29
but enjoy it. You're not going to struggle,
- 32:31
you're going to suffer. There's a difference.
- 32:33
That's a good point that you made right now, actually.
- 32:35
What do you mean? That that, that the difference
- 32:38
between the, you know, like you kind of, well, you didn't really
- 32:40
explain it that much, but what you just said right now, the
- 32:42
struggle. Versus suffering.
- 32:43
Versus suffering. I totally agree with that bro.
- 32:46
Because suffering is unavoidable.
- 32:48
You could be struggling, but it's not painful.
- 32:50
Exactly. Exactly.
- 32:52
Suffering is painful. Suffering is painful, yeah, When
- 32:54
you have to let go of things for the sake of Christ, it does feel
- 32:57
like suffering sometimes, but it doesn't feel like a struggle
- 33:01
because according to what Scripture says, God's
- 33:04
commandments are not a burden. Exactly.
- 33:07
So for example, you could see it this way, right to to wrap it
- 33:12
up. But the struggle is, or at least
- 33:15
for the believer, if you're in the moment of struggle, for
- 33:17
example, someone who's like, Oh yeah, I'm trying to lift the
- 33:19
weight, but I really can't, right?
- 33:22
It's like, yeah, I'm trying to, I'm trying to serve the Lord,
- 33:25
but like I just can't. Right.
- 33:27
Doesn't sound right. That's the struggle, right?
- 33:29
You don't feel pain, you don't feel the conviction, right?
- 33:32
You don't trust in God who is greater than your heart.
- 33:37
All of these things, all of these.
- 33:38
Things. Exactly.
- 33:39
But then you're suffering. I'm not.
- 33:41
I'm doing it, but it hurts. Yeah.
- 33:43
But you're suffering. You're suffering.
- 33:45
You're. Trusting in God.
- 33:46
Exactly. You're enjoying it exactly.
- 33:49
So all of these things are like anybody listening when you're
- 33:53
being appealed, like when you're feeling like you feel that
- 33:59
desire. Remember when you said yeah,
- 34:01
desire, you know, gives a birth to?
- 34:05
Oh yeah, when when the desire is conceived, it gives birth to
- 34:09
sin, and then sin gives birth to death, right.
- 34:12
Yeah, it's a, it's a domino effect.
- 34:14
Exactly. And so like James describes
- 34:16
what's happening with him when we're driven away by our own
- 34:19
design. Right, correct.
- 34:21
You know what I mean? Yeah, man, it's crazy.
- 34:23
These, these apostles, they, they knew what they were saying
- 34:26
exactly. We just don't really sit down
- 34:28
and meditate and understand, number one, probably because the
- 34:33
question is how much do we trust God in the moments of
- 34:36
temptation? Because a lot of people, they'd
- 34:39
rather go to therapy, they'd rather go out for a walk.
- 34:43
They're right to go hang out with friends.
- 34:45
But no, these apostles understood it can only be done
- 34:48
through Christ, period. Nothing else.
- 34:51
No system, no, no coping mechanism.
- 34:55
It's just only through Christ that you can overcome any sort
- 34:58
of temptation, anything. And it's not like you can't.
- 35:03
You can't. Exactly.
- 35:05
Just like the apostle make it seem like there is no excuse,
- 35:09
Paul makes it seem like this is the disciplining of the flesh.
- 35:12
Peter says be holy, for the Lord is holy.
- 35:14
Yeah, John says. Remain.
- 35:17
Exactly. James says let the suffering.
- 35:21
And play it's full effect. It's like they all understood
- 35:24
they. Didn't have podcasts.
- 35:25
No, they didn't have podcasts. They didn't have.
- 35:27
They didn't have all this stuff that we have that supposedly
- 35:32
should we not be in a much higher level?
- 35:34
Should we not? You know what they had, bro?
- 35:36
Which surpasses everything here on Earth.
- 35:38
They didn't even have a Bible. I know you know what they had
- 35:42
bro, The Holy Spirit. Yeah.
- 35:44
They had the Holy Spirit, and the question is, do we not have
- 35:48
the Holy Spirit? That's a question we should all
- 35:51
ask ourselves. Or or.
- 35:54
We we trick ourselves thinking the Holy Spirit is because our
- 35:58
emotions tells us otherwise. Exactly.
- 36:01
You know what I mean absolutely answer to finish it up guys, I
- 36:05
already said this, this is my second time, but though all
- 36:07
those who are new listening, press the follow button on
- 36:11
Spotify, just subscribe button on YouTube, press the
- 36:14
notification so you know when it comes out.
- 36:16
We're also on Apple Podcasts and those who've been in this
- 36:20
journey with us listening this advice to hear this, this word,
- 36:25
share it, share it, it, it, it's OK.
- 36:29
You can speak to people, to your friend believers, and then talk
- 36:33
about what's really going on right when you're in that
- 36:36
moment. Exactly.
- 36:38
Yeah. Don't.
- 36:38
Don't be ashamed of the gospel. Yeah.
- 36:40
You know, our, all our brothers thought the same.
- 36:44
Should we? We should all think the same
- 36:45
too. Exactly.
- 36:47
Yeah. So we're going to finish it up
- 36:49
with a prayer. Thank you, Father, for giving us
- 36:53
this opportunity to to to speak about your word, to to speak
