Speaker 1: We don't like it.
• 0:01
  Speaker 2: We don't like a pope that's gonna say that it's
• 0:04
Speaker 2: okay to have a nuclear weapon. We don't want to
• 0:06
Speaker 2: pope that says crime is okay in our city. I
• 0:09
  Speaker 2: don't like it.
• 0:10
Speaker 1: I'm not a big fan of boblo.
• 0:11
  Speaker 2: He's a very liberal person and he's a.
• 0:14
Speaker 3: Man that doesn't believe is stopping crime.
• 0:16
Speaker 1: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
• 0:20
Speaker 2: Good Sunday morning. Nice to have you with us on
• 0:22
Speaker 2: the forty seven Morning Update, and we've got two big
• 0:24
Speaker 2: stories for you. First up, Democrats are now justifying looting
• 0:29
Speaker 2: in this country. They're calling it micro looting and saying, well,
• 0:32
Speaker 2: big companies, they deserve to get things stolen from them.
• 0:37
Speaker 2: So what does this mean for the well complete breakdown
• 0:40
Speaker 2: of the law. We'll explain it. Also, James Comy, he's
• 0:44
Speaker 2: been indicted yet again. What's behind the latest indictment and
• 0:48
Speaker 2: what does this mean for him? We'll explain it all.
• 0:51
Speaker 2: It's the forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
• 0:54
  Speaker 1: Story number one.
• 0:55
Speaker 2: I want to also bring up another really important story.
• 1:00
Speaker 2: We talk about the demise of civility in this country.
• 1:04
Speaker 2: It's not just the assassination attempts on President Donald Trump.
• 1:07
Speaker 2: We now have people advocating on the left for what
• 1:10
Speaker 2: they describe as micro looting. It is the progressive's defense
• 1:15
Speaker 2: of theft and it's literally undermining the moral order in
• 1:20
Speaker 2: this country. If you're wondering what the hot new trend
• 1:23
Speaker 2: is among Brooklyn progressives, and it's now gone viral, it's
• 1:28
Speaker 2: literally stealing from Whole Foods that according to a recent
• 1:32
Speaker 2: episode of The Opinions It's a New York Times podcast.
• 1:36
Speaker 2: This podcast they go into up micro looting, talking taking
• 1:41
Speaker 2: small things from big corporations and feeling justified. The full
• 1:47
Speaker 2: half hour discussion is something the late Tom Wolf could
• 1:51
Speaker 2: have written a satire. One of the hosts, who resides
• 1:54
Speaker 2: in a two point seven million West Hollywood mansion, and
• 1:58
Speaker 2: another one of the hosts who's family is sufficiently well
• 2:01
Speaker 2: off to run an a ledge human trafficking ring, present
• 2:05
Speaker 2: themselves as stalwart defenders of the poor and the down trot,
• 2:09
Speaker 2: engaged in radical actions against a violent system. You notice
• 2:13
Speaker 2: the same keywords they use against President Trump. Piker, one
• 2:16
Speaker 2: of the Hose, endorses stealing not just from Whole Foods,
• 2:19
Speaker 2: but also from other stores. Talantino says the other hosts
• 2:24
Speaker 2: blowing up pipelines is probably moral. Another hose does a
• 2:28
Speaker 2: lot of giggling, of course, in the process. It's unlikely
• 2:32
Speaker 2: that micro leading has much currency outside the circles in
• 2:35
Speaker 2: which these individuals run. More broadly, however, the endorsement of
• 2:39
Speaker 2: casual anti social behavior the City Journal Rights represents a
• 2:44
Speaker 2: genuine current on the American left of view that such
• 2:48
Speaker 2: conduct is permissible because it's really quote unquote the system
• 2:53
Speaker 2: that's unjust, so therefore you're justified in looting. That idea
• 2:57
Speaker 2: is likely to gain greater acceptance. We've seen it with
• 3:00
Speaker 2: lashmob looting of grocery stores and of males. It's worth
• 3:04
Speaker 2: saying clearly why it's wrong, and the fact that we're
• 3:07
Speaker 2: even having to do it now is even more shocking.
• 3:09
Speaker 2: But the radicals say, no, no, no, this is appropriate.
• 3:13
Speaker 2: In fact, they say it goes back to the sixties
• 3:16
Speaker 2: and the defense of louting and violence during twenty twenty,
• 3:19
Speaker 2: including NPR. Their interview with the author of a book
• 3:23
Speaker 2: called In Defense of Looting, shows you how far the
• 3:26
Speaker 2: propaganda has come. One of the hosts invoked that looting
• 3:31
Speaker 2: around the twenty twenty protests, which was. She says, such
• 3:34
Speaker 2: a huge talking point is made people so uncomfortable, and
• 3:38
Speaker 2: I'm curious, what do you think the root of that is?
• 3:41
Speaker 2: The idea that opposition of louting is confusing or in
• 3:44
Speaker 2: need of serious investigations not only ridiculous, but it's also alarming.
• 3:50
Speaker 2: The City Journal rights people just like looting because they
• 3:53
Speaker 2: would rather their stuff wasn't taken, especially by force. There's
• 3:57
Speaker 2: no deeper there there. Yet, many on the left and
• 4:00
Speaker 2: the friends believe that Americans have a barely suppressed taste
• 4:05
Speaker 2: for crime. Piker, for example, implies that many regard the
• 4:09
Speaker 2: murder of the United Health CEO. Yes, you can kill
• 4:12
Speaker 2: anybody you don't like. That's the left' mantra. Now, Brian
• 4:15
Speaker 2: Thompson was justified more than four or five more than
• 4:20
Speaker 2: four and five Actually do not see it that way,
• 4:22
Speaker 2: is what the polling data shows. But it's scary that
• 4:25
Speaker 2: one out of every five or one out of every
• 4:27
Speaker 2: four to five believe that you can kill the CEO
• 4:30
Speaker 2: of a company because you don't like them. This is
• 4:34
Speaker 2: the Democratic Party. This is what they believe. So whether
• 4:37
Speaker 2: it is this or let's just go back to they
• 4:40
Speaker 2: tried to kill President Trump hours ago and Democrats are
• 4:45
Speaker 2: out there saying this at the Fight Oligarchy rally. Yes,
• 4:48
Speaker 2: this is after, I want to be clear, the President's
• 4:52
Speaker 2: third assassination attempt. Here they are, in their own words.
• 4:56
  Speaker 1: We need Democrats.
• 4:57
Speaker 4: We'll have the courage to stand up to the power
• 5:00
Speaker 4: brokers in our own party, let alone Trump and his guys.
• 5:08
Speaker 1: We don't back down. We don't back down.
• 5:15
Speaker 5: We don't back down.
• 5:16
Speaker 2: With all due respective, they go low, we don't go high.
• 5:19
Speaker 1: We take them to the mud.
• 5:20
Speaker 4: And choke them out.
• 5:21
Speaker 2: We take them to the mud and we choke them out.
• 5:24
Speaker 2: That is your Democratic candidate for the US Senate in Michigan,
• 5:28
Speaker 2: in Kalamazoo, Michigan. When they go low, we don't go high.
• 5:32
Speaker 2: We take them to the mud and choke them out.
• 5:34
Speaker 2: We kill them. So, whether it's Barack Obama claiming we
• 5:38
Speaker 2: don't know the White House correspondent Center Gumman's motives despite
• 5:41
Speaker 2: having a manifesto raving against Donald Trump, this is how
• 5:48
Speaker 2: they will try to rewrite everything. You think. That's the
• 5:53
Speaker 2: only one. Governor Roy Cooper, Democrat North Carolina, remember what
• 5:58
Speaker 2: he had to say.
• 5:59
  Speaker 1: It a Biden.
• 6:00
Speaker 4: We are not going to let him because the position
• 6:05
  Speaker 4: is already filled.
• 6:09
  Speaker 1: We know that.
• 6:09
Speaker 2: Donald Trump is an existential threat to our democracy and
• 6:13
Speaker 2: our nation, and we have to stop him. We are
• 6:18
Speaker 2: not We have to stop him. Donald Trump is an
• 6:22
Speaker 2: existential threat to our democracy in our nation. We have
• 6:25
Speaker 2: to stop him. Translation, go kill him. You had a
• 6:30
Speaker 2: room full of journalists that watched a radicalized member of
• 6:33
Speaker 2: their own audience act literally on their reporting. That is
• 6:39
Speaker 2: what we witnessed at the White House Correspondence dinner. And
• 6:43
Speaker 2: what do they have to say, Oh, well, never forget
• 6:47
Speaker 2: what they put on TV for a very long time.
• 6:50
Speaker 3: Sarcastic terrorism is right when a leader uses language that
• 6:54
Speaker 3: is more likely than not to radicalize.
• 6:56
Speaker 1: Democracy is on the ballot still, it's on the ballot.
• 7:00
Speaker 3: Democracy is on the ballot.
• 7:02
Speaker 5: Democracy is on the ballot.
• 7:03
Speaker 3: Democracy is on the ballot. Democracy is literally on the ballot.
• 7:06
Speaker 5: Democracy is on the ballot for this election.
• 7:09
Speaker 2: Vice President Harris has made very clear that democracy is
• 7:12
Speaker 2: on the ballot here.
• 7:13
Speaker 3: Democracy, of course, is, as the President likes to say,
• 7:16
Speaker 3: on the ballot. Terrorism experts call this stochastic terrorism, where
• 7:21
Speaker 3: somebody has been so demonized that it creates this heightened
• 7:24
Speaker 3: risk of loan of actors.
• 7:26
Speaker 2: Donald Trump is turning this nation into Nazi Germany. You
• 7:29
Speaker 2: don't have a president, as you said, talking about exterminating
• 7:32
Speaker 2: right Latina. A reelection of Donald Trump put me in
• 7:35
Speaker 2: the end of democracy.
• 7:36
Speaker 4: This would be the end of America.
• 7:38
Speaker 3: An actual Trump led one of the empire is the
• 7:41
Speaker 3: end of democracy. Sypastic terrorism is a way of using
• 7:44
Speaker 3: language that is clearly meant to incite some percentage of
• 7:49
Speaker 3: the people listening for a violent purpose.
• 7:53
Speaker 4: What does that potentially do for unbalanced people out there?
• 7:57
Speaker 1: He is destructive to our democracy and he has to
• 8:01
Speaker 1: be He has to be eliminated.
• 8:05
Speaker 2: He has to be eliminated. That was a sitting member
• 8:10
Speaker 2: of Congress who said that. And then you have a
• 8:13
Speaker 2: room full of journalists who are there when one of
• 8:15
Speaker 2: their radicals that they created gave them the fuel, the ammunition.
• 8:20
Speaker 2: A guy who attended the No Kings protests in California,
• 8:25
Speaker 2: a guy who gave to Kamway Harris's campaign. This is
• 8:29
Speaker 2: who they are. They radicalized the people that killed Charlie Kirk.
• 8:34
Speaker 2: They radicalize the people that are trying to kill Nick Shirley.
• 8:38
Speaker 2: Nick Shirley went on TV exposing this, saying, I've had
• 8:41
Speaker 2: death threats. One of them was specific about the date
• 8:44
Speaker 2: it's supposed to be coming up soon the date they
• 8:46
Speaker 2: said they'd kill me. Last time I was in California,
• 8:49
Speaker 2: people were trying to dos my location live. So why
• 8:52
Speaker 2: did they go after Donald Trump? Because the leftist violence
• 8:56
Speaker 2: has been created by them? How do we get rid
• 8:58
Speaker 2: of looting by justifying the changing the name to saying
• 9:01
Speaker 2: that it's normal to steal from stores that have money?
• 9:05
Speaker 2: And what did the president do? He tried to bring
• 9:08
Speaker 2: the American people back together, while ABC News and their
• 9:12
Speaker 2: fake White House correspondent speech Jimmy Kimmel actually jokes about
• 9:16
Speaker 2: Trump's assassin and the room laughs. That is the media.
• 9:22
Speaker 1: Next story number two.
• 9:23
Speaker 2: Former FBI director James Comy has now been indicted by
• 9:27
Speaker 2: a federal grand jury for the second time in what
• 9:31
Speaker 2: is becoming one of the most politically charged legal battles
• 9:34
Speaker 2: in recent memory. Now, this latest indictment was handed down
• 9:38
Speaker 2: in North Carolina and its centers around a twenty twenty
• 9:42
Speaker 2: five social media post a photo Comy shared showing seashells
• 9:46
Speaker 2: arranged to read eighty six forty seven. Prosecutors argue that
• 9:53
Speaker 2: phrase was a Now, prosecutors argue that that phrase was
• 9:57
Speaker 2: a clear threat against President Donald Trump because eighty six
• 10:02
Speaker 2: means to get rid of, and Trump is a forty
• 10:04
Speaker 2: seventh president. According to the US Department of Justice, Comy
• 10:09
Speaker 2: is now facing not one but two phony counts threatening
• 10:13
Speaker 2: the president and transmitting a threat in interstate commerce. Here's
• 10:18
Speaker 2: how it was announced on Fox News.
• 10:21
Speaker 4: Has indicted former FBI director James Comy for a second time.
• 10:26
Speaker 4: I've Justice corresponded David spot Scott the story.
• 10:28
Speaker 2: He's here in Washington.
• 10:29
Speaker 4: David, They're going to go at it again. John. They
• 10:32
Speaker 4: are going at it again, not even a year after
• 10:33
Speaker 4: they went at it after the first time. We're told
• 10:36
Speaker 4: this via several law enforcement sources. Were told this is
• 10:39
Speaker 4: related to an Instagram post from the former FBI director
• 10:42
Speaker 4: last year when he posted on the beach you may
• 10:45
Speaker 4: remember there was a formation of shells that said eighty
• 10:49
Speaker 4: six forty seven that were in that pairing of eighty
• 10:52
Speaker 4: six forty seven, and he said something along the lines
• 10:55
Speaker 4: of isn't this a curious formation that I just found
• 10:58
Speaker 4: while walking on the beach each Well. Critics to that
• 11:01
Speaker 4: post immediately pointed out that eighty six, at least in
• 11:05
Speaker 4: the restaurant world, means to get rid of or to
• 11:08
Speaker 4: kill something from a menu. Forty seven meeting the forty
• 11:10
Speaker 4: seventh President of the United States. So Komi did speak
• 11:14
Speaker 4: with the Secret Service, did speak with federal investigators at
• 11:17
Speaker 4: the time he was interviewed last spring or early last summer.
• 11:21
Speaker 4: Shortly after that happened. No charges were ever filed, But
• 11:25
Speaker 4: now it appears that he has been indicted. Today, we're
• 11:28
Speaker 4: working to learn more about the indictment. We're waiting to
• 11:33
Speaker 4: see if officials have anything to say on this. That
• 11:36
Speaker 4: is the post that you see right there, cool shell
• 11:38
Speaker 4: formation on my beach walk from former director.
• 11:42
Speaker 2: Now, this obviously is going to be very interesting, and
• 11:45
Speaker 2: what's also interesting is how the media is covering it.
• 11:47
Speaker 2: You heard how Fox is covering it, but listen to
• 11:49
Speaker 2: the difference when CNN brought it up on their program.
• 11:53
Speaker 5: We also know that there has been an investigation ongoing
• 11:55
Speaker 5: down in Florida around a broad swath of the Russia
• 12:00
Speaker 5: investigation many years ago, starting back in twenty sixteen, an
• 12:04
Speaker 5: investigation Comy had worked on until Donald Trump fired him
• 12:07
Speaker 5: as his FBI director. Could it be something related to that?
• 12:11
Speaker 5: A lot of questions here, But this is going to
• 12:14
Speaker 5: be a really interesting case moving forward because Komy had
• 12:19
Speaker 5: been indicted again and had been trying to make arguments
• 12:22
Speaker 5: in court the last time he faced charges in the fall,
• 12:25
Speaker 5: that he was being singled out for prosecution, that it
• 12:28
Speaker 5: was very unfair. You're very likely to see something like
• 12:31
Speaker 5: that again from his legal team, and I did try
• 12:35
Speaker 5: and reach out to them for more information. I have
• 12:37
Speaker 5: nothing back at this point on that front. We're still
• 12:40
  Speaker 5: waiting borus.
• 12:42
Speaker 2: Now you also heard something very interesting there from CNN.
• 12:45
Speaker 2: They mentioned that there's also another investigation going on that
• 12:48
Speaker 2: deals with the Russia collusion investigation. Now, this was one
• 12:53
Speaker 2: of the most explosive political sagas in modern American history.
• 12:58
Speaker 2: And guess what, it's not over. In fact, it's back
• 13:01
Speaker 2: in the spotlight now in a major way. And you
• 13:03
Speaker 2: can hear CNN is trying to get ahead of it.
• 13:06
Speaker 2: And now it could also directly involve the former FBI
• 13:09
Speaker 2: director James Comy. Yet again, Now, let me just remind
• 13:13
Speaker 2: you of how all this got started. Back in twenty sixteen,
• 13:17
Speaker 2: the FBI launched what was known as Crossfire Hurricane. It
• 13:21
Speaker 2: was an investigation of whether Donald Trump campaign was coordinating
• 13:25
Speaker 2: with Russia. That probe ultimately led to the Special Counsel
• 13:30
Speaker 2: Robert Muller's investigation, which confirmed that Russia did interfere in
• 13:34
Speaker 2: the election, but did not establish a con criminal They
• 13:39
Speaker 2: claimed conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia. But now
• 13:44
Speaker 2: we're learning that the story doesn't end with the collusion
• 13:47
Speaker 2: hoax being declared a hoax. We now know that because
• 13:52
Speaker 2: of the Trump administration, they're saying, we're going to see
• 13:54
Speaker 2: exactly what happened here, because in twenty fifteen and into
• 13:58
Speaker 2: this yeardministration has reopened scrutiny into the origins of the
• 14:04
Speaker 2: Russian investigation, launching was effectively a new criminal probe into
• 14:08
Speaker 2: the investigators themselves that includes looking into figures we're being
• 14:13
Speaker 2: told like former CIA director John Brennan and yes, James Comy.
• 14:18
Speaker 2: According to the new reports, the FBI and the DOJ
• 14:22
Speaker 2: have begun examining whether Komy and others made not only
• 14:26
Speaker 2: false statements, but abused intelligence authorities and mishandled evidence during
• 14:33
Speaker 2: the origins of the original Russia investigation. At the same time,
• 14:38
Speaker 2: we now know newly declassified documents pushed by intelligence officials
• 14:44
Speaker 2: are also reigniting debate over whether there were efforts to
• 14:47
Speaker 2: shape or even influence the narrative, and that obviously is
• 14:52
Speaker 2: where things get complicated, and that's why the government is
• 14:56
Speaker 2: looking into all of this. US intelligence agencies concluded Russia
• 15:01
Speaker 2: did interfere in our elections, but they did not coordinate
• 15:05
Speaker 2: that interference with the Trump campaign. This is the biggest
• 15:10
Speaker 2: problem for James Kombe and others, and that's exactly why
• 15:14
Speaker 2: right now they're in now having to answer for their decisions.
• 15:18
Speaker 2: Because of course it was the FBI director James Komy
• 15:22
Speaker 2: who approved the key decisions early in the Russia investigation,
• 15:26
Speaker 2: and then he's the same guy that later briefed Congress
• 15:29
Speaker 2: about it. He was also, as you know, fired by
• 15:32
Speaker 2: President Trump in twenty seventeen, a move that helped trigger
• 15:35
Speaker 2: the mower probe in the first place. So you fast
• 15:39
Speaker 2: forward to right now. Kombe's now facing multiple legal challenges,
• 15:44
Speaker 2: including separate indictments unrelated to Russia. But at the same
• 15:48
Speaker 2: time he's also reported under scrutiny again for his role
• 15:52
Speaker 2: in that original investigation. It does mean that the chickens actually,
• 15:59
Speaker 2: for once, baby coming home to roost.
