A Vietnam veteran with 20 years of service and multiple Purple Hearts was denied full military honors at his funeral because the funeral home was over fifty miles from a Navy base — leaving out pallbearers, rifle salute, and more. But thanks to local VFW support, he got the send-off he deserved. This sparked outrage online, as families shared similar stories, prompting funeral director Bradley Anderson to push for change so every veteran — no matter where they live — receives the full tribute they earned.
