• 0:15
SPEAKER_00: I'm Coach Smith, your host.
• 0:17
SPEAKER_00: Buckle your chin strap, put your mouthpiece in, and tie your cleats in double knots.
• 0:23
  SPEAKER_00: Here we go.
• 0:25
SPEAKER_00: Welcome to our weekly Games of the Week episode.
• 0:28
SPEAKER_00: In today's episode, we analyze three key matchups.
• 0:32
SPEAKER_00: The first is a big Class D contest, and I'd like to thank Nate Lull, one of our Cover 4 podcast analysts, for recommending this game and supplying his analysis.
• 0:44
SPEAKER_00: Coach Adam Hoover leads the Walton Warriors into Bainbridge to take on the Bainbridge Guildford Bobcats, led by Coach Art Regis.
• 0:53
SPEAKER_00: Both teams are coming off big wins.
• 0:56
SPEAKER_00: Bainbridge Guildford, they won 28-20 over Oneida, and Walton won 24-12 over a much improved Oneana team.
• 1:06
SPEAKER_00: Bainbridge Guildford's quarterback, Connor Davy, had an outstanding game last week with three rushing touchdowns and one passing.
• 1:15
SPEAKER_00: His touchdown runs were 79, 58, and 9 yards respectively.
• 1:22
SPEAKER_00: Walton had a balanced attack on the ground and they played outstanding defense and they forced O'Neana into passing situations.
• 1:30
SPEAKER_00: Key to this week's game will be whether Walton can stop the running of Davy.
• 1:35
SPEAKER_00: This game will be the WCDO Radio Game of the Week, and that will be broadcast Friday, September 13th at 7 p.m.
• 1:44
SPEAKER_00: And you can listen locally on 100.9 FM or online at WCDOSports.com.
• 1:53
SPEAKER_00: And now on to our next game.
• 1:56
SPEAKER_00: And this game comes courtesy of another one of our cover for podcast football analysts, Ryan Ginio.
• 2:03
SPEAKER_00: This game will be Moravia traveling to take on Pembroke.
• 2:07
SPEAKER_00: This is a rematch of last year's eight-player regional championship, which is actually a de facto state championship since it's the final game of the eight-player season in New York State.
• 2:18
SPEAKER_00: Pembroke won the contest 36-0, but the score would have been a lot closer had Moravia not dealt with some injuries and sickness to key student athletes.
• 2:30
SPEAKER_00: Both teams will have different looks this season.
• 2:33
SPEAKER_00: For Moravia, gone are all three All-State players, Kyler Proper, Luke Landis, and Aidan Kelly.
• 2:42
SPEAKER_00: But they have more than enough talent to fill those roles.
• 2:47
SPEAKER_00: Thomas Palmer is now the starting quarterback with Landis graduated.
• 2:52
SPEAKER_00: Hunter Boynton will be the lead back, and wide receiver Joe Baylor returns after missing all season last season due to injury.
• 3:00
SPEAKER_00: Pembroke graduated back-to-back player of the year, Tyson Totten, who played running back and linebacker.
• 3:07
SPEAKER_00: This should be a much closer game than last season's meeting.
• 3:11
SPEAKER_00: It will be tough for Moravia, given they're traveling on the road to start the season, but it should be very competitive.
• 3:18
SPEAKER_00: This game will be played Saturday, September 14th with a kickoff at 7 p.m.
• 3:23
  SPEAKER_00: at Pembroke.
• 3:25
SPEAKER_00: And now to our final game of the week.
• 3:28
SPEAKER_00: That'll be Vestal traveling to Maine Anwell.
• 3:31
SPEAKER_00: The Class A Vestal Golden Bears will visit Spartan Country to take on the Class B Main Anwell Spartans.
• 3:38
SPEAKER_00: After only one game each, these teams appear to be very similar in a lot of ways.
• 3:43
SPEAKER_00: Both have young first-year quarterbacks with plenty of running and receiving options.
• 3:49
SPEAKER_00: And when these options are not available, both quarterbacks add the extra dimension that gives defensive coordinators flu-like symptoms, and that's being able to run the ball.
• 4:00
SPEAKER_00: Both defensive units have plenty of speed and both play solid assignment football.
• 4:05
SPEAKER_00: Both are coming off very decisive wins in week zero, and they seem to be near midseason form already.
• 4:13
SPEAKER_00: Since these teams appear to be evenly matched, it may come down to the kicking game.
• 4:18
SPEAKER_00: Some bestful student athletes to watch are senior wide receiver, defensive back Owen Micah, junior wide receiver, safety JT Gannon, junior running back, defensive back Julian Adams, sophomore quarterback Josh Queller, and sophomore running back linebacker Caden Kitchen.
• 4:39
SPEAKER_00: On the main Enwell side, some student athletes to watch are first year quarterback Junior Preston Auker, fullback linebacker Jaden Branch, running back linebacker Vinny Mancini, and running back linebacker Landon Rolo.
• 4:55
  SPEAKER_00: Kickoff is Friday, September 13th at 7 p.m.
• 4:59
  SPEAKER_00: at Emmy Spartan Stadium.
