- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's fuck ya Friday!
- 0:01[SPEAKER_01]: Fuck you!
- 0:03[SPEAKER_01]: Get ready for some wins!
- 0:28[SPEAKER_01]: and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: Each week my guess will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it until you see it.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, BeatBabe, have you April 10th, have you FYF?
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's fuck yeah, Friday.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: And, ah, did I tell you guys, we may have told you guys, maybe I didn't.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: Did I tell you guys, I met this incredible, one of our listeners, high.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: I met one of our incredible listeners.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'll keep your name out of it.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: But she was at the airport on her way to the Plysrill X-Vote, which is where I got to see her.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: And she said that she couldn't get her AirPods to connect and she was playing on the podcast.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: It was to be a pod, obviously, that's why I'm playing this right.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: And so she hits play, and her AirPods are connecting, and it goes, it's fuck ya Friday.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, like, yeah, I have the airport, and I'll be able to go over.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: And this one is stunning.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: She's so beautiful.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, not someone you think is going to play out loud in an airport.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's f***gabbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: Are you ready?
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: Stranger was dumb, but book lovers writing shared it, so I work at a bookstore.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: Old man comes in every Saturday, 3 p.m. by his one book, always pays cash.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: Always asked for it to be gift-rapped.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: Does this every week been doing it for six years, never misses a Saturday?
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: Finally asked him, must be quite a collection you're building.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_01]: He's mild.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't keep them.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: Confused look on my face every Sunday I go to the children's hospital.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: Leave the book at the nurse's station anonymously, whichever kid needs it most that week.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: Been doing it since my grandson was there, leukemia, he beat it five years cancer free now.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: their voice cracked a little.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: But remember those long days of scared nights and I remember the random book someone left, how it gave him something to focus on besides fear.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: Never found out who left that book so I decided to be that person for other kids.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: Other scared families.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: One book a week doesn't seem like much but it helps one kid forget their scared for even an hour.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's worth it.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know what to say.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: Told my manager, she got emotional.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: We decided something.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: Every book he buys, we match it.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: Two books to the hospital instead of one.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: Told him the next Saturday.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: He cried in the middle of the store.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: You do that every single week?
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: I promised.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: Wordsbred, other customer sort of asking to participate.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: Now we have a program.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: Books for bravery.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: Customers donate.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: We buy books to deliver them every Sunday.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: Started with two books a week.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: Now we're at 47 books a week all because one grandfather refused to forget.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: pretty certain books a week.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's insane.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: So that man still comes every Saturday.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: Still buys one book.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: Still asks for gift wrap.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: But now he's not alone.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: There's usually five or six other people that are doing the same thing.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: They become friends, call themselves the Saturday book club.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: But they never actually read together.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: 622 books delivered so far.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: We started keeping letters from parents and from kids, one said I was so scared that I found a book of my nights in at a note where I'm someone who believes you're brave.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: I read it 12 times that helped.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: That's why we do it.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: The grand father's grandson came in last month.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's 14 now.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: Healthy and strong and wanted to meet the staff.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: My grandpa told me what y'all do.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: I want to help.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: Can I volunteer?
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: Now he comes every Saturday
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's some good, amazing people out there.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: You know what you think?
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm just doing this one thing.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: And like, who would know?
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: And...
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: how much is it affecting but like it affects people right and doesn't like the one book was like for weeks and weeks and months and months and then other people joined in and now just like them all the kids for our gonna are going to be touched by that because there's there's a new kid with cancer in the hospital all the time right so I just love that story love that's right I hope you did too all right so now you're when this comes from Amy Shantz she is an OPC member
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: And she shared this.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, this I will give her this also just say she sent this in in January.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a little I'm catching up on all of your amazing wins to share this.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: So keep cinnamon.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry, just because I'll be a few months down the road, you'll need a reminder.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: So Amy Shant says, I unholyde my house and squeezed in some alone Pilates when my favorite instructor was on vacation.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: Well, wait a go to get your own Pilates in.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: Your own session in just because they're gone.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so proud of you.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: Way to do it.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: You know, people always like, oh, my trainers, I can't do anything.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: There's weeks and your trainers out.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: My trainers out.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm out.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like, come on.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: You gotta just go to do what you can.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: What an inspiration you are, Amy.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: Vicki, Sainer Logan, this is my aunt.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: She wrote a couple of my wins this week was when Jim surprised us at the world of Wonder Museum on Wednesday.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: And he's had off this weekend to watch
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: Whoa, and see, those are wins.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we're like, oh my God, it's not a win until I've achieved everything that I set out to do, that's impossible.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, that I celebrate in the between times, okay?
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: You really, really do.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: So, our little things can be wins.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: Not getting angry when you normally would.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like those are wins, right?
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: So here's what my win is, I've been on a mission.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: You've heard me talk about it, like I'm like, I'm like, oh, like somewhere in the middle of this podcast, I was told I'm ADHD and you're all like,
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: It told this like, I dressed today, I said.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: I just thought I was in a query as...
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: I, like, I don't know.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: I thought all Aquarians are weirdos.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: So I just thought the reason I was different from everybody is the weird Aquarius.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know that I am also in Aquarius with ADHD like drew like crazy.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm really my win is that I didn't just let the internet diagnose me with ADHD.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: I went and got the proper diagnosis and I asked for help.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I was like, I, I'm going to tell you right now, I've done.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: I have lots of systems.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really smart.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure I need therapy.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: And that's not your job.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: But until I can figure out what's the ADHD and what's not, I just, I, I can't take it on another system because I'm at, I'm at the end, right?
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I just share that with you because.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't have the ADHD can be a lot of things.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: So you could be at the end of like a pyramid of pause.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: It could be a health thing of frustration.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: You've tried all the things.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: Got to advocate for yourself.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: It takes time.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: You're hearing this in April.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: I appointment was in February.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: We made it in October.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: between my schedule and their schedule and everything like it was just really hard.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I just want to say, like, just keep going.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: And then when you get there, if they give you advice, it like, you've already tried.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's okay to say, you know, I'm not trying to make an obstacle.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: I've already tried that.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just here for these are the things I've tried.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: This is what I need to help with.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, tomorrow we are new day.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see how I
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to share that with you.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think a whim can be advocating for yourself and getting the help you need.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: It was for me.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: So right now your mantra for the week.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: I am worthy of love and care for myself.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: I am worthy of love and care for myself.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: I am worthy of love and care for myself.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: You are, and if you didn't catch it in the February episodes, we did a whole week on self-love, it actually released the week of Valentine's Day.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: So go listen, if you were like, I am worthy, but I don't know what that is.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: Go listen those episodes.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: I promise you they're good.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: All right, loves share those self-love episodes with a friend who needs to hear it.
