- 0:04Speaker 1: NFL Power Rankings is a production of the NFL in
- 0:07Speaker 1: partnership with I Heart Radio. Oh Hello, and welcome to
- 0:21Speaker 1: another edition of the NFL Power Rankings podcast, presented by Energizer.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I am Dan Hansas and joining me in the Chris
- 0:30Speaker 1: Westling podcast studio is the wonderful Colleen. Thank you, thank you.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Fresh off my trip from Buffalo, I'm here, I'm ready
- 0:37Speaker 1: to rock. Let's do this vibes. Oh my god, fresh.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I absolutely love a tailgate in Buffalo. I had only
- 0:46Speaker 1: gone to my first one ever a week before Christmas.
- 0:50Speaker 1: This one even better. I was showered with gifts and food,
- 0:53Speaker 1: homemade cannolis. There was this one group that was doing
- 0:56Speaker 1: a high end tailgate next to us, and they had
- 0:59Speaker 1: lobsters and lamb skewers and camus with wine glasses. It
- 1:04Speaker 1: was very classy. So, I mean, you can really go
- 1:07Speaker 1: every end of the spectrum there. Yeah, I'm very happy
- 1:10Speaker 1: for the people of Cincinnati, but you do feel for
- 1:13Speaker 1: those fans in Buffalo. I think they were expecting a
- 1:15Speaker 1: party and a coronation and got anything but And by
- 1:20Speaker 1: the way, um, if now you're getting homemade cannoli's, by
- 1:24Speaker 1: the way, it's like at some point, you're gonna have
- 1:26Speaker 1: to finish the film The Godfather, which has one of
- 1:29Speaker 1: the most famous lines in cinema. Oh my god, Oh
- 1:31Speaker 1: my god, Oh my god. I have an update for you.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I haven't finished it yet. That's not the ever. Guess
- 1:38Speaker 1: what on my flight from Buffalo to JFK where I
- 1:42Speaker 1: was connecting, who was I sitting next to? Please say Apaco?
- 1:47Speaker 1: I wish no, But have you watched the offer yet,
- 1:50Speaker 1: which is about the making The Godfather? Well this is
- 1:53Speaker 1: not going to be as great then, um next to
- 1:57Speaker 1: the guy who played Mario Puzzo, who wrote The Godfather,
- 2:01Speaker 1: and he was an irishman and he could not have
- 2:03Speaker 1: been nicer. So, like, you know what, everything really came
- 2:05Speaker 1: full circle. Well, now you gotta finish the movie. I uh.
- 2:09Speaker 1: And the line is leave the gun. You got it?
- 2:13Speaker 1: Got it? So let's get back to Power Rankings because
- 2:17Speaker 1: this is the Power Rankings podcast presented by Energizer. I
- 2:20Speaker 1: think it's a little unfair that I'm doing this still,
- 2:23Speaker 1: I feel I am under contract with the NFL. Part
- 2:26Speaker 1: of my contract is you will do Power Rankings throughout
- 2:29Speaker 1: the season. You dragged me into this too, dragged you
- 2:32Speaker 1: into this, and I apologize what god um or what
- 2:37Speaker 1: NFL commissioner asks a man to rank these four teams.
- 2:42Speaker 1: There's no right ranking, no idea, all four of these teams,
- 2:46Speaker 1: and this is this is a reason to be one
- 2:48Speaker 1: of the reasons to be excited for Championship weekend. Usually there's,
- 2:52Speaker 1: you know, one team that's a little like you're not
- 2:56Speaker 1: like the others, which sometimes adds a lore in its
- 2:59Speaker 1: own right. But then you have a year like this
- 3:01Speaker 1: that doesn't happen often. We're all four, the four kind
- 3:03Speaker 1: of best teams all season. And check my power rankings.
- 3:06Speaker 1: All these teams were hovering around the top for most
- 3:08Speaker 1: of the season. Let's check out the final eight. That's
- 3:11Speaker 1: all it is. Now, how about that? How about that?
- 3:17Speaker 1: Up three spots to number one? I don't understand. Not
- 3:21Speaker 1: the only team to jump three spots, your Philadelphia Eagles
- 3:24Speaker 1: up three spots to number two. San Francisco forty Niners.
- 3:29Speaker 1: They won twelve games in a row. This isn't right.
- 3:33Speaker 1: I know it's in my contract, but there's a human
- 3:35Speaker 1: rights of violation here. I have to drop the Niners
- 3:38Speaker 1: on a twelve game winning streak. Two number three the Chiefs.
- 3:44Speaker 1: They got out to win against the Jags. They dropped
- 3:46Speaker 1: two spots to four, So that is my one through four,
- 3:49Speaker 1: and you could guess based on that who I think
- 3:50Speaker 1: is playing in the super Bowl. Number five, the Bills
- 3:53Speaker 1: down to We talked about that a little bit off
- 3:56Speaker 1: the top, kind of a bummer, but that's where they
- 3:58Speaker 1: are right now. The Cowboys, who were like the ultimate
- 4:01Speaker 1: number six team all year, like, they were never quite
- 4:04Speaker 1: as good as the big Boys, and then that's exactly
- 4:07Speaker 1: how things ended. They weren't quite as good as the
- 4:12Speaker 1: nice job Dak hit a big spot number six, they
- 4:14Speaker 1: stay there, Jags up one to seven, and the gim
- 4:17Speaker 1: in your Eagles brought them down to earth. And I'm
- 4:22Speaker 1: sure that was great a Saturday night party at the
- 4:25Speaker 1: Gonzales Wolfhouse. So let's start with the Bengals, though, am
- 4:30Speaker 1: I crazy? Explain how you got to this point? Well,
- 4:35Speaker 1: first of all, let's get right out of the way.
- 4:37Speaker 1: This is the power moves presented by energy. There the
- 4:39Speaker 1: Bengals at number one because they're not gonna lose again.
- 4:45Speaker 1: And this is the this is why even though I
- 4:47Speaker 1: had the Niners at number one for weeks and weeks
- 4:49Speaker 1: I think it was at least five weeks, maybe six,
- 4:53Speaker 1: when old Zeuser sat down on his laptop and tug
- 4:57Speaker 1: Boat looked at the Excel spreadsheet and the new old
- 5:00Speaker 1: Blue Eyes had to make a decision like ten minutes
- 5:05Speaker 1: before you had to file. Daddy Rich said, I cannot
- 5:09Speaker 1: look past the point that of all the four teams
- 5:11Speaker 1: that won this past weekend, the Bengals were the one
- 5:15Speaker 1: that I was most impressed by, the one that seemed
- 5:18Speaker 1: most destined for glory. Even after the Eagles mopped the
- 5:21Speaker 1: floor with the Giant. You could say it's a little
- 5:23Speaker 1: unfair again, Yes, what that I'm pissed off Angelo, You
- 5:31Speaker 1: should be, but I gave him pop. I mean, look
- 5:34Speaker 1: at it this way. I put the Eagles ahead of
- 5:35Speaker 1: the Niners, who were number one. They both won. But
- 5:38Speaker 1: let's stick to the Bengals for a second here, Cincinnati.
- 5:42Speaker 1: This is what they did against Buffalo. And you were
- 5:44Speaker 1: there in person. I know it. It was said after
- 5:48Speaker 1: the game by Joe Burrow. It really was never close.
- 5:50Speaker 1: It never felt like the Bills were going to come back.
- 5:53Speaker 1: It felt like this game was over in the first
- 5:55Speaker 1: And that's why you disappoint me. Why because you were there.
- 5:59Speaker 1: You were there, you saw the party that was supposed
- 6:01Speaker 1: to be the celebration that was supposed to be. And
- 6:05Speaker 1: Cincinnati went there and said, we don't care about anything
- 6:08Speaker 1: that's going on up here, like this special little team
- 6:12Speaker 1: in this community of football fans, we like Tommy Lee
- 6:16Speaker 1: Jones in the future, I don't care. And they went
- 6:19Speaker 1: up there and they just beat their butts. And here's
- 6:24Speaker 1: the thing. The defense. People have been sleeping on this defense.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I've been sleeping on this defense that it's it's very,
- 6:30Speaker 1: very good. Now they are coached up very well, and
- 6:33Speaker 1: they're playing excellent. The offensive line, all those questions we
- 6:36Speaker 1: had coming in, they played excellent. And then Burrow, you're
- 6:41Speaker 1: telling me Joe Burrow is gonna lose again this season.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Can you honestly take off the green giggle shades? You
- 6:47Speaker 1: could tell me Joe Burrow is gonna walk off the
- 6:49Speaker 1: field a loser in the next three weeks. I don't
- 6:51Speaker 1: see it. These teams are all so good, so talented,
- 6:55Speaker 1: They all do different things well, but they all can win.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Like these are four squads that can all really realistically
- 7:01Speaker 1: win a Super Bowl. I don't know if the goals
- 7:04Speaker 1: are going to pull it off, because you know where
- 7:07Speaker 1: I am in my heart of hearts but watching the
- 7:09Speaker 1: way that the Bengals played that game, it kind of
- 7:11Speaker 1: felt the same way. Uh. And that Monday night game
- 7:14Speaker 1: when we were watching the Bills and the Bengals, the
- 7:16Speaker 1: game that was never finished to suspended and then canceled,
- 7:19Speaker 1: That's exactly how the Bengals looked. And this time they
- 7:23Speaker 1: got to see it all the way through. And let
- 7:25Speaker 1: me just tell you the party that was happening after
- 7:28Speaker 1: the game, the music in the locker room, the cigar smoke,
- 7:32Speaker 1: I mean, better get the refunds. Everything They're playing into
- 7:37Speaker 1: this whole like underdog mentality. And I feel like every
- 7:41Speaker 1: year a different team does this, or I guess they
- 7:43Speaker 1: all do, usually not the reigning conference champion, but they've
- 7:46Speaker 1: found their way to do it, tried to do it,
- 7:48Speaker 1: and that was lame. We don't need to talk about
- 7:49Speaker 1: the Patriots and where that's great, isn't it anyway? Um?
- 7:53Speaker 1: But I think that going into this game, the offensive
- 7:57Speaker 1: line was one thing that everyone could kind of use
- 8:00Speaker 1: as an example of why the Bills were going to win,
- 8:03Speaker 1: and it was us. Too much stock was put into that.
- 8:06Speaker 1: It was something that kind of we saw obviously saw
- 8:09Speaker 1: Joe Burrow deal with this in the past with an
- 8:12Speaker 1: offensive line that didn't give him time. And if I
- 8:14Speaker 1: didn't know that this offensive line was down three starters,
- 8:18Speaker 1: I would have had no idea watching the game because
- 8:20Speaker 1: it didn't look like an issue at all. Joe Burrow
- 8:22Speaker 1: got the ball out so fast too stend the plays.
- 8:26Speaker 1: It's just such a good team that that the Borrow
- 8:28Speaker 1: getting the ball out quickly. I think on one of
- 8:30Speaker 1: his key completions he got it out and a little
- 8:32Speaker 1: over a second. It was just like kind of that
- 8:35Speaker 1: that that will make up for a lot of things.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And that's why a quarterback. I think a lot of
- 8:38Speaker 1: times when people talk about if an offensive line is
- 8:41Speaker 1: good or bad, not enough is put into well, what's
- 8:43Speaker 1: the quarterback doing back there? What decisions is he making?
- 8:46Speaker 1: How aware is he of what the time he has
- 8:49Speaker 1: and how he adjusts? And that's another reason why Burrow
- 8:52Speaker 1: is an assassin. So I feel really good about where
- 8:55Speaker 1: the Bengals are. I think that one thing about the
- 8:58Speaker 1: game was a little bit annoying from my perspective. You
- 9:00Speaker 1: were in the press box, so I don't know if
- 9:02Speaker 1: you heard the call on TV, but they were like
- 9:05Speaker 1: pointing out that, oh, this is so bad for Buffalo's defense.
- 9:09Speaker 1: The footing on the field with the snow and it's slick.
- 9:11Speaker 1: They can't play the defense they want to play. Well.
- 9:14Speaker 1: I guess what. Cincinnati had the same field conditions on
- 9:18Speaker 1: their side of the ball, and it didn't matter. They
- 9:20Speaker 1: put that in that Buffalo attack in a phone box.
- 9:23Speaker 1: So awesome job. I love the Bengals. I will not
- 9:26Speaker 1: pick against the Bengals again. I'm good for you. So
- 9:39Speaker 1: the Eagles, let's let's talk about three Eagles. I know
- 9:42Speaker 1: what you're saying. So you're saying the Eagle, all right,
- 9:44Speaker 1: let me tell me if I'm right about this. This
- 9:46Speaker 1: is the Connie Fox logic. Eagles were the best team
- 9:51Speaker 1: in football for much of the season. They were undefeated
- 9:55Speaker 1: into what November, They won the number one seed in
- 9:59Speaker 1: the NFC, They had the buy to get rested. The
- 10:01Speaker 1: quarterback Jalen Hurts and Lane Johnson came back and they
- 10:06Speaker 1: just blew out a giant team that people thought were
- 10:08Speaker 1: actually good or maybe getting better than good. And after
- 10:13Speaker 1: we see that, that's enough to give them the number
- 10:16Speaker 1: one spot back and they should be number one this week. Yeah,
- 10:19Speaker 1: they should be number one this week. Again, the logic
- 10:21Speaker 1: checks out because you can make up case for any
- 10:23Speaker 1: of these days beautiful night with an even more glorious
- 10:27Speaker 1: outcome in this game. But Jalen hurts the shoulder. That
- 10:30Speaker 1: was the thing that everyone was wondering about. He needed
- 10:33Speaker 1: that time, He needed that by week, and he looked
- 10:35Speaker 1: just fine, uncorking a beautiful pass to Davante. Corking is
- 10:40Speaker 1: a funny word, you know, I like it unleashing uncorking.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Corking is kind of silly, and I like where it
- 10:47Speaker 1: comes from because I only think about a cork with wine,
- 10:50Speaker 1: so and it's not like you know you when you
- 10:52Speaker 1: uncork wine, you don't really uncork wine. What else, what
- 10:55Speaker 1: do your champagne? Champagne? Drew um, But his shoulder looked
- 11:02Speaker 1: just fine and they kept him clean. The tall fed
- 11:04Speaker 1: line is so good. Jason Kelsey straight up put in
- 11:09Speaker 1: his armpit and then took him for a ride. Brian
- 11:13Speaker 1: Baldinger was gushing about this team. Is Brian Baldinger Baldy's
- 11:17Speaker 1: dream that there they are trench monsters on both sides
- 11:21Speaker 1: of the ball. They not only that they block like
- 11:24Speaker 1: maniacs on offense, they get after you on the defensive
- 11:27Speaker 1: line and the ball so well too. Yeah, they do
- 11:31Speaker 1: it all two hixty eight rushing yards. Here's the thing,
- 11:34Speaker 1: the only thing that maybe stop me again, it's just
- 11:37Speaker 1: I think it's a barrow thing more than anything for me.
- 11:39Speaker 1: And that's just that he's the guy, he's the dude.
- 11:42Speaker 1: I think he's gonna rule the NFL and we're gonna
- 11:44Speaker 1: that's what we're gonna be talking about at the end
- 11:46Speaker 1: of this year. But the Eagles certainly, certainly, and by
- 11:50Speaker 1: having it at number two, I can tell you I
- 11:51Speaker 1: think they're going to the Super Bowl. Um Uh, they
- 11:54Speaker 1: will be a great test if those two teams ever meet. Now,
- 11:58Speaker 1: first they have to get past the forty Niners, and
- 12:00Speaker 1: I have them at number three, Connie, and god, they're
- 12:05Speaker 1: so good too, They're really good and and and I
- 12:08Speaker 1: think home field matters in this because you're going to
- 12:11Speaker 1: the link obviously for this game. Um did you, as
- 12:14Speaker 1: a Eagles fan, take anything positive out of that? Niners
- 12:18Speaker 1: went over the Cowboys and how their offense with brock
- 12:20Speaker 1: Purty looked much more down to earth against a big
- 12:23Speaker 1: time defense. Well, especially in that first half, brock Purty
- 12:27Speaker 1: did not look comfortable at all. But then Kyle Shanahan
- 12:31Speaker 1: did what he always does, and he goes in and
- 12:34Speaker 1: helps make brock Purty comfortable in everything that he does
- 12:38Speaker 1: with Christian McCaffrey, with Deebo Samuel. But now Christian McCaffrey,
- 12:42Speaker 1: he's got the calf contusion. He's going to play um.
- 12:46Speaker 1: And you have Elijah Mitchell too, who has a groin
- 12:49Speaker 1: issue at this point, so a little bank, I know,
- 12:53Speaker 1: put him in carbonite and just restore their bodies somehow. Yeah,
- 12:58Speaker 1: well that'd be weird too. But I think with these
- 13:00Speaker 1: two teams, both of their defenses are really good, and
- 13:05Speaker 1: both have so much depth so they can rotate guys
- 13:08Speaker 1: in and out, and they both have really good running
- 13:10Speaker 1: games as well. But I think the Eagles, you have
- 13:12Speaker 1: to give them the edge because of the quarterback position,
- 13:15Speaker 1: and they have home field here, so that is those
- 13:18Speaker 1: two things I think will really dictate the outcome of
- 13:20Speaker 1: the game. And that's why Connie I dropped the Niners
- 13:24Speaker 1: that extra spot to three. I agree with everything you said.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I I just I think it's it's probably gonna be
- 13:31Speaker 1: another you know, two teams may be scoring under twenty
- 13:35Speaker 1: affair here unless unless and this is where if you're
- 13:39Speaker 1: an Eagles fan, you've got to be pumped and why
- 13:41Speaker 1: I'm not going to second guess myself because that would
- 13:44Speaker 1: be second guessing Joe Burrow. And I do not second
- 13:46Speaker 1: guess Joe Burrow at this point unless the Eagles when
- 13:49Speaker 1: they are healthy on both sides of the ball. And
- 13:53Speaker 1: that's what we saw in the first you know, three
- 13:55Speaker 1: months of the season are just better than everyone else
- 13:58Speaker 1: and they just mall you. And come draft season and
- 14:01Speaker 1: free agency, all the teams are gonna be like, oh
- 14:03Speaker 1: my god, this is how you build a champion in
- 14:06Speaker 1: the trenches. And we always hear that, but when a
- 14:09Speaker 1: team is doing it at the level of the Eagles,
- 14:12Speaker 1: don't be surprised when offensive linemen and big defensive tackles
- 14:15Speaker 1: are flying off the draft board early. Very fun County,
- 14:19Speaker 1: good times to be an Eagles fan, it is, and
- 14:21Speaker 1: I will be traveling there in two days time. Look
- 14:24Speaker 1: at you. Yeah, I'm all over the place again. It's great.
- 14:27Speaker 1: That is beautiful living life around the NFL podcast. We
- 14:32Speaker 1: go nowhere, mean you guys like to you know, we
- 14:36Speaker 1: hold it down at the old home fans always. You're
- 14:39Speaker 1: going places. That podcast I think has a future. And
- 14:42Speaker 1: you get on your private jet, you eat your wings.
- 14:44Speaker 1: What's what's it like hanging out with Kyle brand by
- 14:47Speaker 1: the way, in Buffalo? Does he have a following in Buffalo?
- 14:49Speaker 1: At this point? He seems like he's really part of
- 14:51Speaker 1: that community. Everybody knows Kyle, Everybody wants a picture with Kyle.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Everyone is giving Kyle gifts. Like I was just like
- 14:58Speaker 1: it was nice for me to kind of get like
- 15:00Speaker 1: the secondary the overflow and stuff, because like he had
- 15:03Speaker 1: so many things, and I was like, take that if
- 15:05Speaker 1: you don't want it, Like what do we what are
- 15:06Speaker 1: we talking like blankets? Or there was a woman who
- 15:09Speaker 1: gave me her head warmer off of her head because
- 15:13Speaker 1: I had complimented it and she had gotten it as
- 15:15Speaker 1: a president from her sister. And I was like, I
- 15:17Speaker 1: don't want to take your your sister's Christmas present to you,
- 15:20Speaker 1: please no, And she insisted and then her sister came
- 15:24Speaker 1: over and she was like, no, we want you to
- 15:25Speaker 1: have They were Her name was Debbie, and I love
- 15:29Speaker 1: her and I love that head warmer out to Debbie, sweatshirts, everything,
- 15:33Speaker 1: the whole family. Um, I have the chiefs at four
- 15:37Speaker 1: this would have been Here's the question, Patrick Mahomes if
- 15:41Speaker 1: he does not suffer that gnarly high ankle spraining against
- 15:44Speaker 1: the Jags. Do I have them higher? No, I think
- 15:48Speaker 1: I still would have had him at four. It would
- 15:49Speaker 1: have been a tougher call. That's again, that's why this
- 15:52Speaker 1: is gonna be a great weekend of football that the
- 15:56Speaker 1: I think the Chiefs, you could end people on Twitter
- 15:58Speaker 1: are not happy with me. Um, No one's going to
- 16:01Speaker 1: be happy with You could literally flip these, You could
- 16:03Speaker 1: flip these. You could have cheap one nine Ers, two Eagles,
- 16:06Speaker 1: three in Bengals for it, and nobody's gonna say it's
- 16:08Speaker 1: wrong or right because you can make a case for it.
- 16:11Speaker 1: But I really I think the Chiefs um are going
- 16:14Speaker 1: to be in a little bit of trouble obviously, because
- 16:15Speaker 1: what part of what makes Mahomes brilliant and one of
- 16:18Speaker 1: the best to ever play is what he can do
- 16:19Speaker 1: off platform and rolling out of the pocket. And you're
- 16:23Speaker 1: just not gonna have that. It sounds like unless there's
- 16:25Speaker 1: some type of active god or medicine that allows it
- 16:28Speaker 1: to happen. But other parts of the team reminded us
- 16:30Speaker 1: that they're not just Mahomes and that's why they're even
- 16:32Speaker 1: still playing right now. Right, I think the formula forward
- 16:35Speaker 1: is just quick passes, get the ball out as fast
- 16:38Speaker 1: as you can and then run Isaiah Pacheco. I mean,
- 16:41Speaker 1: but check and that one angry run it was beautiful,
- 16:46Speaker 1: So you could you can do that. And then you
- 16:48Speaker 1: have Travis Kelsey who is absolutely automatic. He is always
- 16:51Speaker 1: open under is that right? I think he had yards
- 16:56Speaker 1: and two touchdowns. Yeah, seventeen targets, fourteen catches, yards, two touchdowns.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I mean, had the first touchdown of the and it
- 17:05Speaker 1: didn't even matter with Chad Henny in there. He got
- 17:07Speaker 1: a chat. That was Chad Henny's first postseason touchdown, was it? Yeah?
- 17:12Speaker 1: He saved their butts against the Browns a couple of
- 17:14Speaker 1: years ago too, like this when every time in the postseason,
- 17:23Speaker 1: Steve Spagnolo gets his due, and I think that happens again.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Like Chris Jones was in the zone in this game.
- 17:30Speaker 1: He looked incredible. The secondary they leveled up one thorn
- 17:34Speaker 1: Hill was roman all over the place. Their rookie Jalen Watson,
- 17:39Speaker 1: he had that one handed interception. So they have a
- 17:42Speaker 1: lot of playmakers. Yeah. One thing that's gonna be interesting
- 17:44Speaker 1: to watch and we'll see in terms of Cincinnati's line
- 17:47Speaker 1: is guys get another week to heal, maybe they get
- 17:51Speaker 1: some of their starters back, But one of the things
- 17:54Speaker 1: that hurt the Bills was that didn't they didn't have
- 17:56Speaker 1: Von Miller, and their pass rush just wasn't up to
- 17:58Speaker 1: snuff in the last six weeks of the season. Um,
- 18:02Speaker 1: Chris Jones the type of guy that the Bills really
- 18:06Speaker 1: needed in that game, and now here he is for
- 18:08Speaker 1: the Chiefs. Can you turn Joe Burrow into a rag
- 18:11Speaker 1: doll um by just blowing through that line, which again
- 18:15Speaker 1: is helped by Burrow's ability to get the ball out quickly.
- 18:18Speaker 1: But this is the highest level of football. Now, it's
- 18:22Speaker 1: gonna be it's gonna be more difficult for Burrow to
- 18:25Speaker 1: find open receivers, you would think, or maybe not. Maybe
- 18:28Speaker 1: Burrow just won't be stopped. I don't think for a reason.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I think that he will absolutely win this week. Absolutely, Yeah.
- 18:35Speaker 1: I almost want to lock it up. So you all right,
- 18:47Speaker 1: let's as we talk about the Bills, do we have
- 18:51Speaker 1: to we did kind? Do you have anything to go ahead?
- 18:54Speaker 1: You were there? No, It's just like I just it's sad.
- 18:57Speaker 1: It's sad. At this point they need to figure out
- 18:59Speaker 1: an offense that you know, doesn't just say Josh Allen
- 19:03Speaker 1: go win that that was what jumped out to me
- 19:06Speaker 1: a little bit. It seemed to be more and more
- 19:08Speaker 1: like that, and especially when you get at this level
- 19:11Speaker 1: of the season, that's not gonna work. When the teams
- 19:15Speaker 1: are at this level and you know, it's no surprise
- 19:17Speaker 1: they still couldn't run the ball, and you have to
- 19:20Speaker 1: be able to run the ball in the postseason and
- 19:22Speaker 1: you have to be able to do it in the snow. Yeah,
- 19:25Speaker 1: I hear you on that. O Um, you want to
- 19:27Speaker 1: talk about the Cowboys. I think the Cowboys are the
- 19:31Speaker 1: most number six team is number six team has ever been.
- 19:34Speaker 1: I think Dak Prescott has a lot to answer to
- 19:38Speaker 1: for this performance. I think you're loving it. I think
- 19:42Speaker 1: the final play was really just chef's kiss. Yeah that
- 19:46Speaker 1: was I I wrote actually in the power rankings, which
- 19:48Speaker 1: everyone could check out at NFL dot com slash Power Rankings,
- 19:51Speaker 1: that last year's last January is the playoff exit against
- 19:56Speaker 1: the Niners. It was at Jaral World. Was super frustrating
- 20:01Speaker 1: where they you know, he ran the QB draw slid down,
- 20:04Speaker 1: they ran out of time, they were blaming the rafts.
- 20:07Speaker 1: It was an ugly ending, very frustrating for the Cowboys.
- 20:10Speaker 1: This ending was just sad. It's just kind of depressing,
- 20:13Speaker 1: like that was the last play of this year that
- 20:16Speaker 1: once again, you know, all the hype and let me
- 20:19Speaker 1: just read a deck Twitter account went after him. What
- 20:24Speaker 1: do you think about that? I don't know. Listen, we
- 20:27Speaker 1: work for the NFL two and we'll we're we'll criticize,
- 20:31Speaker 1: and we often do when when necessary. But when you're
- 20:34Speaker 1: the team Twitter account and you're kind of hanging the
- 20:37Speaker 1: quarterback out to dry, that's interesting. Here is a quote
- 20:41Speaker 1: from Dak Prescott after Sunday's game, and he had accountability
- 20:47Speaker 1: and that's a good dude by all counts. So this
- 20:50Speaker 1: isn't an attack of the man's character. He said, if
- 20:53Speaker 1: I had the answers, then we would have won tonight.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Too early, too soon, And I promise you we will
- 20:59Speaker 1: though in my time playing on this team for this
- 21:03Speaker 1: organization will and one of these years, Connie, the Cowboys,
- 21:08Speaker 1: whether it's Stack or whomever else, are gonna have to
- 21:10Speaker 1: back up the words words, but not enough action. Yeah,
- 21:17Speaker 1: that's the issue. And now Ezekiel Elliott, what's his future
- 21:20Speaker 1: look like with the team now that Tony Pollard is
- 21:23Speaker 1: such a big part of the offense finally, and you
- 21:26Speaker 1: just have to wonder, like what what goes on? Because
- 21:29Speaker 1: the pressure And we've talked about that. I don't know
- 21:31Speaker 1: if we talked about it today, but maybe you guys
- 21:33Speaker 1: talked about it on the recap around the NFL pod.
- 21:36Speaker 1: But the pressure on these quarterbacks now as they get
- 21:40Speaker 1: close and then they don't deliver like Josh Allen, like
- 21:44Speaker 1: Dak Prescott, especially for a team like the Cowboys and
- 21:48Speaker 1: an owner like Jerry Jones, It's only going to get
- 21:51Speaker 1: more difficult. And I would imagine they would they only
- 21:54Speaker 1: get more inside their own heads about it. Oh you
- 21:56Speaker 1: mean the Jerry Jones who went out on the field
- 21:59Speaker 1: during pregame warm ups to talk to his kicker after
- 22:02Speaker 1: you missed a couple of attempts. Is more monst Oh
- 22:05Speaker 1: my god? Do you know you think that jere might
- 22:07Speaker 1: be living with this team every snap, every second? You
- 22:12Speaker 1: think I've never seen that before, And we talked about
- 22:15Speaker 1: it on a ten dak before this game last week.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Watched his press conference from after last year's playoff loss,
- 22:24Speaker 1: just to remind himself that he never wanted to be
- 22:26Speaker 1: there again, and then he has that game. Is it
- 22:28Speaker 1: possible that maybe part of the problem in Dallas is
- 22:31Speaker 1: the pressure that they put upon themselves in addition to
- 22:34Speaker 1: all the outside And I know you love it, Connie,
- 22:37Speaker 1: all right, give me your number one through four. So
- 22:39Speaker 1: you're saying I got it wrong, what's right? Okay? I
- 22:43Speaker 1: think the four through one. Let's build up the drum
- 22:45Speaker 1: four through one. So Chiefs would absolutely put at four
- 22:49Speaker 1: and they'll probably win the Super Bowl. Now I know exactly,
- 22:52Speaker 1: but the mahomes ankle and just the way that he
- 22:54Speaker 1: plays like that has me very concerned about them. Then
- 22:58Speaker 1: I think three is still the Niners. I'm rocking with
- 23:01Speaker 1: you there. It's really just the top two that just
- 23:03Speaker 1: flip that I would flip. Yeah, So I would go
- 23:06Speaker 1: to for the Bengals, one for the Eagles, so we
- 23:08Speaker 1: both have the same super Bowl pick. Speaking the super Bowl.
- 23:12Speaker 1: After the Super Bowl, this is the last written Power
- 23:15Speaker 1: Rankings article you'll get from zeus Er. After the Super Bowl,
- 23:18Speaker 1: you and I will be back for one more show. Well,
- 23:21Speaker 1: we'll bring back the entire list of thirty two uh
- 23:25Speaker 1: including Kyle Brand said on Good Morning Football this this
- 23:28Speaker 1: morning that he thinks my magnum opus should be and
- 23:31Speaker 1: maybe it would be my last Power rankings. Ever, is
- 23:34Speaker 1: the after Super Bowl power rankings? The number one team
- 23:37Speaker 1: isn't the team that won the Wow, you just go
- 23:41Speaker 1: out and maybe this is it. Maybe this will be
- 23:43Speaker 1: the episode. You don't know what the future is. I
- 23:45Speaker 1: don't know. Everyone's like, it's gonna go. We gotta get out.
- 23:50Speaker 1: It's a good strategy because as anyway, so look for
- 23:54Speaker 1: that and um we we might be back before then
- 23:58Speaker 1: the video side of things, but that, yeah, fun. What
- 24:01Speaker 1: are we gonna talk about? I don't know. We'll rank
- 24:03Speaker 1: some stuff. I have a few ideas of things we
- 24:07Speaker 1: can rank. Two thousands hip hop. We're just listening to
- 24:10Speaker 1: it before the show. A lot of great songs best
- 24:13Speaker 1: hip hop. This is more your purview than mine, But
- 24:17Speaker 1: I do have an answer. Can best hip hop song
- 24:20Speaker 1: two thousand to two thousand four? What that is like?
- 24:23Speaker 1: I can't just I can't. I cannot just rank number
- 24:26Speaker 1: one right now. They have to wait to wait until
- 24:29Speaker 1: next week. Hated or love it? No? Good man him,
- 24:35Speaker 1: that's the correct answer. I should know. I'm the rap expert,
- 24:39Speaker 1: all right till next week? He'd the call. How do
- 24:42Speaker 1: you not like that one? It's a banger? Absolutely not
