- 0:00Speaker 1: Johnny three tiers. I am from Hollywood. I'm dead on
- 0:02Speaker 1: tour with Falling Reverse and Black Pill Brides all over
- 0:06Speaker 1: the great Australia.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Fantastic brother. How you doing today?
- 0:11Speaker 1: I'm great, Buddy chilling Man, getting getting ready to head
- 0:14Speaker 1: over there, thirty five hour flight, very excitedcking hell?
- 0:19Speaker 2: Can you sleep on pine?
- 0:20Speaker 1: So?
- 0:20Speaker 3: Do you?
- 0:21Speaker 2: Are you a movie? Watch?
- 0:23Speaker 3: Uh?
- 0:24Speaker 1: I just lose my mind for like the whole time,
- 0:26Speaker 1: pretty much. I can't concentrate on anything except how fucking
- 0:29Speaker 1: horrible it is, just slowly torturing myself. No, I I guess, uh, yeah,
- 0:37Speaker 1: I watch a movie. I don't know. I'm not a
- 0:38Speaker 1: big movie guy. I try and sleep as much as
- 0:41Speaker 1: I can, you know, that's the that's the key. But
- 0:45Speaker 1: you know, just try and kill as much time as possible.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Is here You're miserable no matter what. In my opinion.
- 0:50Speaker 3: See, I actually remember, if you want to piss you
- 0:53Speaker 3: on the band myself, might I remember a flight I
- 0:55Speaker 3: got for me to England when when you're watching a
- 0:57Speaker 3: movie on there for some reason, if you stop the movie,
- 1:00Speaker 3: you have to go back to the start again.
- 1:02Speaker 2: You can't go back to where it was.
- 1:03Speaker 3: So I was sitting with him mate, and just as
- 1:04Speaker 3: he'd get to the last fifteen minutes of maybe every.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Time on Rachel I Ring, well that'll kill time.
- 1:12Speaker 2: For him, it'll make your time for the whole time.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Well, if you just get tanked enough, it's usually okay,
- 1:22Speaker 1: that's what I used to do. But the problem is,
- 1:24Speaker 1: you know, with jet lag and the dehydration, if you
- 1:27Speaker 1: got to play the next stand stuff, you're just ruined.
- 1:29Speaker 1: So you know, I won't drink on a play like
- 1:31Speaker 1: that if you get your screwed, So you have to
- 1:33Speaker 1: you know, you have to behave yourself to some degree.
- 1:36Speaker 1: So it's just yeah, I mean, you're just screwed. You
- 1:38Speaker 1: just have to accept it and be kind of like
- 1:40Speaker 1: a stoic about it and just go all right, it
- 1:42Speaker 1: is what it is. That's all you can do.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Cool. So as you mentioned it to bro Hollywood, I'm dead.
- 1:49Speaker 3: We'll be in a story with Falling in Reverse and
- 1:51Speaker 3: black Mail Brides for a run of shows starting in
- 1:54Speaker 3: Perth on March eleventh. Then you Adelaide Melbourne, Sydney, finished
- 1:57Speaker 3: up in Brisbane on Massa at eight eighth.
- 1:59Speaker 2: But it's a hell of a fucking lineup, right, hell
- 2:03Speaker 2: of a lineup?
- 2:04Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, dude, it's gonna be a lot of fun. Man.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Have have you played much with Lotter of those two
- 2:08Speaker 2: minutes before?
- 2:10Speaker 1: Oh? Yeah, dude. We've done five or six tours with
- 2:14Speaker 1: Falling and we've done we didn't a tour with Avenge
- 2:19Speaker 1: in with Blackveil shit ten twenty years ago, fifteen years ago.
- 2:23Speaker 1: I don't know, it's been a long time. And then
- 2:25Speaker 1: we're always on the same festivals. I've we've known, we
- 2:29Speaker 1: all run in the same circles, so you know, you
- 2:32Speaker 1: kind of get to know each other over time and stuff,
- 2:34Speaker 1: and it's a very ancestral world.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Now. I don't know if you've said it though, brother.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Have you seen the actual tool pister?
- 2:43Speaker 1: Oh no, I don't.
- 2:45Speaker 2: It's a fucking pearl.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Whoever came up with it, dizy genius he's got there's
- 2:49Speaker 3: a koala bear on steroids.
- 2:50Speaker 2: There's a kangaroo on steroids.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Yeah, fucking whoever came up with that deserves something bright
- 2:57Speaker 3: like that's a fucking great post.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Ronnie, he's a genius with the marketing.
- 3:03Speaker 2: He's well, I'm not cut. We're called the last time
- 3:07Speaker 2: Hollywood on dead. We're at her in Australia, right, but
- 3:08Speaker 2: what sexually changed for debate? And since she visited us.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Last dude, I already know it. It's been ten years
- 3:15Speaker 1: since we've been there, in fifteen, twenty eleven. It was
- 3:18Speaker 1: the last time we actually did a tour in Australia,
- 3:20Speaker 1: so fourteen years, and then we did that a festival
- 3:23Speaker 1: there in twenty fifteen. That's how long it's been. So
- 3:27Speaker 1: a lot has changed, well not nothing's changed, and a
- 3:30Speaker 1: lot has changed. I guess you know. We're still going.
- 3:34Speaker 1: We're just a few more albums in deep. We're ten
- 3:37Speaker 1: years older, sadly closer to the grave, bro, but still going,
- 3:42Speaker 1: still going strong, and very much looking forward to coming back.
- 3:47Speaker 1: And hopefully it's not so long in between this trip
- 3:49Speaker 1: and the next one.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Forty years is a long time, bright like, well, if
- 3:53Speaker 3: you neglected this so long, did someone to pitch you
- 3:54Speaker 3: off flast time?
- 3:55Speaker 2: HEREA? No?
- 3:56Speaker 1: Is that fucking flight, dude? I told you good if
- 4:04Speaker 1: they if they can teleport us, I'll come every every
- 4:07Speaker 1: other other week. No, I don't know. You know, it's
- 4:10Speaker 1: funny because I was talking to our manage. I don't know,
- 4:12Speaker 1: you know, Sometimes the opportunities are there and things don't
- 4:15Speaker 1: work out. It's always tough, you know, with's touring because
- 4:18Speaker 1: a lot of times you'll get in an offer, but
- 4:19Speaker 1: we tours are usually booked six months to a year out,
- 4:23Speaker 1: and so every time we've gotten an offer, we either
- 4:25Speaker 1: had a tour book or we were recording, and it's
- 4:27Speaker 1: just never clicked at the right time. So this was
- 4:29Speaker 1: the first time we've actually gotten an offer that made
- 4:32Speaker 1: sense and we could do it. So we jumped on
- 4:34Speaker 1: it and we were happy to do it. We actually
- 4:37Speaker 1: just did this. I don't know if we have a
- 4:38Speaker 1: thing called ship rock out here where you play on
- 4:40Speaker 1: a cruise ship, and Parkway headlined it with us, and
- 4:45Speaker 1: they are the nicest dudes in the world. So it
- 4:47Speaker 1: made us even more excited to head out there because
- 4:49Speaker 1: those guys were really cool dudes and we always love
- 4:53Speaker 1: playing with those guys, so we were really excited to
- 4:56Speaker 1: head out there. Those guys are so nice and stuff,
- 4:59Speaker 1: as is everybody. Very nice people over there.
- 5:02Speaker 2: You might have been the good ones. Mite this some
- 5:04Speaker 2: fucking asshole, I'll tell you all right.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Well there's assholes everywhere, dude. You can't you know, you
- 5:09Speaker 1: can't hide from all of them.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Ahoult that So for the benefit of those whose memory
- 5:14Speaker 3: might not last forty eight years or have forgotten.
- 5:17Speaker 2: What what can fans expect from Holliwood on Dead Live.
- 5:21Speaker 1: We like to keep it fun. I mean what we
- 5:23Speaker 1: really the whole idea. What we we like to a
- 5:27Speaker 1: keep it up deep? We don't. We don't. We don't
- 5:29Speaker 1: mess around, you know. We usually just try from point
- 5:32Speaker 1: foward to the floor, keep it moving. No, we don't.
- 5:36Speaker 1: We have ballads, but we don't play them live. We
- 5:38Speaker 1: were not one of those bands. We just try. We
- 5:40Speaker 1: want people to walk away and say that was a
- 5:42Speaker 1: lot of fucking fun. That's really what our job is,
- 5:44Speaker 1: in my opinion, entertainment. And you know, we write ballad
- 5:49Speaker 1: songs and songs like that, but those are meant for
- 5:51Speaker 1: when you're driving on the beach and you know, or
- 5:53Speaker 1: you're trying to I don't know, bang your girlfriend or something.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Those are great, they're great songs. That's what I like
- 5:58Speaker 1: to let you. But live, we just try and keep
- 6:00Speaker 1: the energy really really high and make sure people have fun.
- 6:02Speaker 1: You know. That's what That's what live music is for me.
- 6:05Speaker 1: So that's kind of what we try to bring to
- 6:06Speaker 1: the table.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Names ure now just say someone inexplicably is only coming
- 6:11Speaker 3: for Falling Reversal, blackfil Brides and doesn't know fuck all
- 6:14Speaker 3: about Hollywood Undead give them three songs, so listening to
- 6:17Speaker 3: be able to get to know the band a bit
- 6:19Speaker 3: better before they come along.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Well, Undead is probably the staple. That's the title song
- 6:25Speaker 1: off our first record that we all you know, I
- 6:27Speaker 1: don't think we've ever played a set without playing that.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Bullet is an acoustic track that we do live off
- 6:33Speaker 1: our second record that I would definitely listen to, and
- 6:37Speaker 1: then I would listen to. Our newest song is called
- 6:40Speaker 1: Hollywood Forever that is off our most recent release in
- 6:44Speaker 1: since it's our newest song, you should listen to that.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Fantastic.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Now you've also got your own headline shows in Melbourne
- 6:50Speaker 3: on March of fifteenth, Brisbane on March nineteenth and Sydney
- 6:53Speaker 3: on March of twentieth.
- 6:55Speaker 2: And I know.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Everyone always says that there's not much difference, but gotta
- 6:59Speaker 3: be a bit more special playing your own headline shows
- 7:02Speaker 3: where you're ready yet.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I mean with the other bands, you know,
- 7:06Speaker 1: there are big arenas and stuff, and those are fun
- 7:08Speaker 1: for their own reasons. But I've always been partial to
- 7:12Speaker 1: you know, when you play to your audience and your
- 7:14Speaker 1: audience alone. It's it's different. It's much more intimate. Everybody
- 7:17Speaker 1: there is there for you and they know you, and
- 7:19Speaker 1: you know, it's a it's a different experience, and we
- 7:23Speaker 1: haven't The reason we added them is because we haven't
- 7:25Speaker 1: been there in so long. It seemed wrong to go
- 7:27Speaker 1: there and just do support us only support shows. So
- 7:30Speaker 1: we want to at least have the opportunity to do
- 7:32Speaker 1: a few regular headline shows just Hollywood and did so. Yeah,
- 7:35Speaker 1: the vibe is always a bit different, you know. And
- 7:37Speaker 1: then club shows like that, more intimate, those have always been,
- 7:42Speaker 1: you know, close to my heart. I mean there's been
- 7:46Speaker 1: you know, like bands like You Too and stuff, and
- 7:48Speaker 1: Metallica will still do like club shows once in a
- 7:50Speaker 1: while because they missed that feeling so much, you know
- 7:52Speaker 1: what I mean, Because it really is that it's it's
- 7:55Speaker 1: that a that's how you start out, that's what you
- 7:57Speaker 1: always start out doing, and there's no feeling like you know,
- 8:00Speaker 1: those guys play to what eighty thousand people stadiums, but
- 8:03Speaker 1: you can't mimic two feet away from just you can
- 8:06Speaker 1: see the sweat beads on someone's forehead. It's a different vibe.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I love it.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Would be completely man and just say like with settlest
- 8:14Speaker 3: like when you're support someone like fall into reverse, like
- 8:17Speaker 3: do you tell you set lists to suit the mass
- 8:20Speaker 3: appeal of like what you think their audience might like
- 8:22Speaker 3: of yours? Or do you do you go out there
- 8:24Speaker 3: and play ones that you want them to remember you for?
- 8:27Speaker 1: Oh no, we just do what we do, like whatever
- 8:30Speaker 1: we want. We've always kind of marched to the beas
- 8:35Speaker 1: of our own druma. I've always felt that if you're
- 8:38Speaker 1: if you're in a band and you you are there
- 8:40Speaker 1: to present something, you should always try and get people
- 8:43Speaker 1: to fit your mold, not theirs, because you know, people
- 8:46Speaker 1: don't know what they like until you show them. They're
- 8:48Speaker 1: not You're not you know what I mean, You're they
- 8:50Speaker 1: want to be shown something new, something they're not familiar with,
- 8:53Speaker 1: So why would you go give them something they're familiar
- 8:55Speaker 1: with or something they're used to, give them something to
- 8:57Speaker 1: hit them over there and if they don't like it,
- 8:59Speaker 1: so what if they do? Cool, they got their you know,
- 9:01Speaker 1: I want to give them something they're not used to,
- 9:03Speaker 1: something new to them. I don't want them to Hey,
- 9:05Speaker 1: let's critique it. So it's as close to what they're
- 9:07Speaker 1: used to as possible. It's like no, so we do
- 9:10Speaker 1: whatever we want to do and if people don't like it,
- 9:12Speaker 1: that's okay. But you're going to at least see something
- 9:14Speaker 1: that you haven't seen before, which is the whole point.
- 9:17Speaker 3: I think Dame Straight Broa got back in John like
- 9:20Speaker 3: Hollywood on Dad formed in La back in two thousand
- 9:23Speaker 3: and five. Man, so most of musical climate like that
- 9:25Speaker 3: gave birth to the band back then.
- 9:27Speaker 2: And where did you fit into the scene initially?
- 9:30Speaker 1: Well, dude, we were We had been in bands together
- 9:33Speaker 1: since we were like little kids, and you know, kind
- 9:35Speaker 1: of one would start, one would break up, and we
- 9:37Speaker 1: would all we'd all we honestly, we went to preschool together,
- 9:41Speaker 1: most of us. Yeah, our parents knew each other. We'd
- 9:45Speaker 1: drive each other to school and shit like that. So
- 9:48Speaker 1: I know, I've known some of these guys longer than
- 9:49Speaker 1: my memory can track. So we'd always been doing music
- 9:53Speaker 1: together ever since we started doing music, and we ran
- 9:56Speaker 1: around Hollywood together, you know, and we would play the
- 9:58Speaker 1: Whiskey and the True Door and the Rocks and all
- 10:01Speaker 1: the clubs there when we were in local bands in Hollywood,
- 10:05Speaker 1: and Dead was honestly It's funny because we had enough
- 10:07Speaker 1: bands we had finally kind of just said fuck this,
- 10:10Speaker 1: it's you know, it was a bit, you know, being
- 10:12Speaker 1: in a band suck. It's you know, no one cared,
- 10:15Speaker 1: and you play a show to twenty people. There's only
- 10:17Speaker 1: so many times you can fucking ask your friends and
- 10:19Speaker 1: your parents to go or you know. And so we'd
- 10:22Speaker 1: kind of not given up that. We were just like whatever.
- 10:25Speaker 1: So we started Hollywood and Needs strictly for ourselves, just
- 10:28Speaker 1: to like make what we wanted to make. And oddly enough,
- 10:32Speaker 1: right when we had kind of given up any expectations,
- 10:35Speaker 1: we made our first Hollywood and Dead song and started
- 10:37Speaker 1: putting out music, and all of a sudden, people were like, Yo,
- 10:40Speaker 1: what's this like? And that was when we first It
- 10:43Speaker 1: was when we didn't try that we actually got people
- 10:46Speaker 1: to listen to us. It was fucking weird, and we
- 10:48Speaker 1: were putting music out. We started getting labels sitting us up,
- 10:51Speaker 1: and we thought people were fucking with us. We really did.
- 10:54Speaker 1: People were emailing us, and I thought it was like
- 10:56Speaker 1: people fucking like, you know, hey, I'm blah blah blah
- 10:59Speaker 1: from Electroreq, and I thought it was somebody fucking dicking
- 11:01Speaker 1: with me.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Wow.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Yeah. And so it was funny because we had kind
- 11:05Speaker 1: of just kind of let go of any expectation and
- 11:07Speaker 1: just a fuck it, let's just do whatever we want.
- 11:10Speaker 1: And that was what worked. So that's a lesson everybody. Man.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Just like I said, do what you want and make
- 11:16Speaker 1: people fit to your mold. Don't fit to what you
- 11:17Speaker 1: think they want, because they don't know what they want
- 11:19Speaker 1: until they hear it.
- 11:20Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 11:22Speaker 3: The debut album, Swan Songs that came out in two
- 11:24Speaker 3: thousand and eight, May Like that set the band off
- 11:27Speaker 3: on the pot.
- 11:27Speaker 2: That was a massive success, that album.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Like, at the time I'm making it, did you have
- 11:31Speaker 3: an inkland that it was something special?
- 11:33Speaker 2: Or was it just the best you could do with
- 11:34Speaker 2: the song?
- 11:36Speaker 1: No? I think I think we all knew that we
- 11:39Speaker 1: had like did something. You know, we were young, We're
- 11:44Speaker 1: fucking we were mad, we were angry, and you know,
- 11:47Speaker 1: we had put so much emotion into it, and I
- 11:50Speaker 1: thought we encapsulated it really well. I didn't know necessarily
- 11:54Speaker 1: that the response would be. I didn't know what the
- 11:56Speaker 1: response would be, but I knew like when we were done,
- 11:59Speaker 1: we've kind of felt like we left everything on the field,
- 12:01Speaker 1: like we did everything. You know, it took us a
- 12:03Speaker 1: lot of work to write that record, and I think
- 12:06Speaker 1: we we knew we had done everything we could. I
- 12:08Speaker 1: did not know what to expect from it, that I
- 12:10Speaker 1: will admit, like, and you know, it was one of
- 12:14Speaker 1: those records that was certainly like polarizing, and that's how
- 12:18Speaker 1: you know you did something right, because people either loved
- 12:20Speaker 1: it or they fucking hated it. Like there was a
- 12:22Speaker 1: lot of people like fucking hated it, and then there's
- 12:25Speaker 1: a lot of people who loved it. And that's when
- 12:27Speaker 1: you know you did something right because that when people
- 12:30Speaker 1: have that strong an opinion on something, it's not like,
- 12:32Speaker 1: oh I just did it's not my thing. It was
- 12:34Speaker 1: like fuck this. I was like, okay that we did
- 12:36Speaker 1: something good here, because they you know, when people don't
- 12:39Speaker 1: like something and I mean it makes their blood boil
- 12:42Speaker 1: or people love it to the degree that they were
- 12:44Speaker 1: getting the fucking cover tattooed on them. I was like, Okay,
- 12:47Speaker 1: there's something going on here. So yeah, I mean we
- 12:50Speaker 1: were we were really proud of it, and uh, you know,
- 12:54Speaker 1: I think we you know, it's it's always going to
- 12:57Speaker 1: be a special moment in my life just because we
- 13:01Speaker 1: worked for years and years to be able to even
- 13:03Speaker 1: get to the point to make it, and the fact
- 13:05Speaker 1: that we didn't blow it at the when it was
- 13:07Speaker 1: like game time, I was happy because you know, it's
- 13:12Speaker 1: very easy to do. We finally had our chance, you know,
- 13:14Speaker 1: you get your chance to go up to bat, and
- 13:17Speaker 1: I felt like we hit a home run. So I
- 13:18Speaker 1: was always happy about that.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Yees. So, well, what actually gave you more drive? Mate?
- 13:22Speaker 3: Like the people that absolutely hated it or the people
- 13:25Speaker 3: that loved it?
- 13:26Speaker 2: Like, what what gave you more drived?
- 13:28Speaker 1: Oh? The people I hate it by far. Still to
- 13:30Speaker 1: this day, I get there's nothing better than than pissing
- 13:34Speaker 1: those people up. I can't help it. And maybe that's
- 13:36Speaker 1: just me like, and don't get me wrong in doing
- 13:38Speaker 1: people like we have fans. We've had fans that have
- 13:41Speaker 1: been there since our first tours, like that twenty years
- 13:43Speaker 1: I'm not getting. We've had fans that were my age
- 13:46Speaker 1: when we started that are now married, they have kids,
- 13:48Speaker 1: and they still come to shows and I've seen them.
- 13:50Speaker 1: I have there now. They we kind of grew up
- 13:53Speaker 1: together essentially, and I love it. And you know, we
- 13:56Speaker 1: have fans with the lyrics tattooed all that there's it's
- 13:58Speaker 1: a beautiful thing, man, Just there's something about someone wanting
- 14:02Speaker 1: you to fail and you just not in succeeding in
- 14:05Speaker 1: spite of it. That there's just no better feeling in
- 14:08Speaker 1: the world, you know, because because it's almost like good
- 14:10Speaker 1: versus evil, Because you know, like if I don't like something,
- 14:13Speaker 1: If I if there's a band or something I don't like,
- 14:15Speaker 1: I won't even tell anybody I don't like them, because
- 14:17Speaker 1: I don't like putting that out in the air. It's
- 14:19Speaker 1: not like there's plenty of things I don't like. I
- 14:21Speaker 1: don't feel the need to go tell people I don't
- 14:22Speaker 1: like it. I certainly don't need to tell the band
- 14:24Speaker 1: I don't like them, So who the fuck are you? Like?
- 14:26Speaker 1: You know, everything isn't for everybody, but people who have
- 14:29Speaker 1: to go on the internet or go up to thee
- 14:31Speaker 1: oh your You know, I just hate these people so
- 14:33Speaker 1: much because they just want to spread the negativity. And
- 14:37Speaker 1: you know, they're usually dude who have never done a
- 14:39Speaker 1: damn thing with themselves, who are mad that someone else
- 14:42Speaker 1: is trying, you know what I mean, And making those
- 14:44Speaker 1: people unhappy is a beautiful thing.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Well said brother Well said, how would you say that?
- 14:51Speaker 3: The Hollywood on Dead have changed your grind musically from
- 14:55Speaker 3: that debut album straight to what you're doing now?
- 14:59Speaker 1: Well, I mean, well music it uh, I guess it
- 15:04Speaker 1: changed to the degree that we've changed. We're a lot
- 15:08Speaker 1: different than we were, you know what I mean. We're
- 15:09Speaker 1: all older, we're all fathers and husbands and like so
- 15:14Speaker 1: as you you've and I'm not saying we're different people
- 15:17Speaker 1: at the core, but as life changes, I guess are
- 15:19Speaker 1: songs the subjects in particular. I think our records have
- 15:22Speaker 1: gotten darker more than anything else, because like, we take
- 15:26Speaker 1: life more seriously. I suppose, as you know, Swan song's
- 15:29Speaker 1: had a lot of innocence to it. You're you're still
- 15:31Speaker 1: you still look at the world differently, You're still naive.
- 15:34Speaker 1: You're twenty years old and you're like, I don't know,
- 15:36Speaker 1: there there's a level of naivety to the way you
- 15:39Speaker 1: view things, and as time goes on, you start to
- 15:43Speaker 1: view things a little differently. But I would just say, yeah,
- 15:47Speaker 1: it's only music. The album's changed to the degree that
- 15:50Speaker 1: the people writing them change and the world changes around
- 15:53Speaker 1: them and stuff like that. But we always you know,
- 15:57Speaker 1: I don't think we one and I know this is
- 16:00Speaker 1: common when we do on those three. We never go, hey,
- 16:02Speaker 1: let's write something different. We always want to try and
- 16:05Speaker 1: keep it organic and keep it the change at the
- 16:07Speaker 1: pace that is natural to us. You know, sounds change,
- 16:11Speaker 1: production changes, and those things change automatically, but really organic
- 16:16Speaker 1: change is basically being honest with yourself and writing songs.
- 16:20Speaker 1: If you're writing songs that are organic to your feelings,
- 16:23Speaker 1: letting allowing that to just come kind of come out naturally.
- 16:26Speaker 1: And I don't want to write songs that I don't
- 16:28Speaker 1: mean and things like that, so you know, I suppose
- 16:32Speaker 1: the main thing is, yeah, they've probably the darkness kind
- 16:36Speaker 1: of starts to creep in. Mortality obviously becomes something you
- 16:40Speaker 1: think about a lot more as you get older, so
- 16:42Speaker 1: death kind of starts to you know, come into play.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Things like that. Just to be honest,
