- 0:00(Transcribed by TurboScribe. Go Unlimited to remove this message.) Imagine you've been climbing up the mountain for
- 0:03years.
- 0:04You have a successful company, you've fired the
- 0:08right people, you've earned the trust of your
- 0:10clients, and you know how to deliver.
- 0:13You look down the mountain and you think,
- 0:15wow, we've built a successful company.
- 0:20The truth is, you probably can't stay there
- 0:23very long.
- 0:24The market is changing.
- 0:27Customers, clients, they're shifting.
- 0:31Employees are moving out and moving along, and
- 0:34now you have AI accelerating it all.
- 0:38So the question isn't that you're not successful,
- 0:41or am I successful?
- 0:43The question is, what you have built?
- 0:46Is that going to take you forward to
- 0:49the next chapter and the next phase of
- 0:51growth?
- 0:52The companies that start to slide down the
- 0:56red arrow, you may be a really good
- 1:00company.
- 1:00You may be operationally strong.
- 1:03But when there's so many priorities, so many
- 1:07different opportunities, people don't know where to focus.
- 1:11And it's really common where sales and operations
- 1:15are doing different things.
- 1:16And then growth starts relying on a couple
- 1:20key people.
- 1:23And then imagine a large major account lands.
- 1:28I call these the LMAs.
- 1:30Is your team ready to communicate?
- 1:32Is your leader, your CFO, going to say
- 1:37the same thing as your VP of Sales?
- 1:39If they cannot share the same story, your
- 1:44client is going to feel that disconnect.
- 1:48And they may lose you your opportunity.
- 1:51Then it happens over again where the leaders
- 1:54at the top, the few key people are
- 1:57responsible for the growth of the company.
- 1:59Things are scattered.
- 2:01Growth slows in this era of AI.
- 2:05And it's not that AI is the villain
- 2:07or the hero because AI is here to
- 2:10just give, there's so much information.
- 2:12But I believe that the companies that are
- 2:14going to continue up the arrow, up the
- 2:17mountain are those companies that know how to
- 2:21take this information, decide quickly, move and move
- 2:25forward together in a way that translates to
- 2:31your clients.
- 2:31And so we do this in these three
- 2:34phases.
- 2:34The first one is know the large major
- 2:37account that the leadership team is going to
- 2:40pursue, make decisions confidently and align around it.
- 2:46And then each leader knows how to take
- 2:48ownership and knows what they're being held accountable
- 2:52for.
- 2:52What is the performance measure that they're being
- 2:54held accountable for?
- 2:55So we have clear metrics on the things
- 2:58that matter most.
- 2:59And once you have clarity around that, then
- 3:01the whole leadership team can hold each other
- 3:03accountable.
- 3:04But it's not dependent on a few people
- 3:06reminding each other what to do.
- 3:09And so when we're clear on the LMA
- 3:11and the pursuit of that, then we're able
- 3:13to articulate to our clients and customize and
- 3:17tailor our messaging so it's consistent and because
- 3:20we all know where we're going and we're
- 3:22able to overcome those very difficult objections that
- 3:26sometimes clients have.
- 3:28And then you're able to start to win
- 3:30those accounts.
- 3:31Win because you are not just good at
- 3:34communicating, but you're communicating clearly and executing consistently.
- 3:40Right now you're building a culture of communication
- 3:42where you scale, where people are moving forward
- 3:46together on the same strategic initiatives.
- 3:49And then leaders are developing that skill to
- 3:53hold each other accountable on what really matters.
- 3:57Remember, communication is just not a soft skill.
- 4:01It is all your people move forward together.
- 4:05Communication can communicate friction, confusion, and people start
- 4:12to point fingers.
- 4:13Or you can communicate what really matters to
- 4:17move people forward together.
- 4:19And that is communicating momentum.
- 4:22So having clear intention with that, that is
- 4:25how you're going to build a legacy of
- 4:27your company because your leaders are aligned, they
- 4:31know how to take ownership in the direction
- 4:32of its growth, and then you're communicating it
- 4:35to your clients.
- 4:37You're closing the gap of what your leaders
- 4:40promise to your clients and how your clients
- 4:43experience that value.
- 4:47But I have a question for you.
- 4:49What direction is your company headed?
- 4:53Are you sliding down or are you moving
- 4:56up?
- 4:59Thanks so much for joining me every single
- 5:01time on the Speak and Flow podcast.
- 5:04It's always good to have you.
- 5:06And until next time, remember, communicate what matters,
- 5:11communicate it often so your people move forward
- 5:15together.
- 5:17Until next time, take care.
- 5:18Bye-bye.
