- 0:43God, I pray God for the nation of Israel.
- 0:46Lord, I pray for those people. Lord, I pray God that you will
- 0:51have your will and have your way upon this earth.
- 0:54God, let us be your hands and feet today.
- 0:58Let us take the message out to the whole world.
- 1:01God, I pray that there will be many who make the decision today
- 1:05to come and to follow you, God, and to forsake all comfort and
- 1:09to forsake all of their own ideas and their own ways.
- 1:13Father and to take up your ways, God, To take up your mind,
- 1:19Christ, and to go into the darkest places.
- 1:22Father, I pray in the name of Jesus, God, that we will get off
- 1:27of our blessed assurance, Lord, and that we will be found doing
- 1:32what it is that you have called us to do for today, God.
- 1:35Let tomorrow worry about itself. But Lord, I pray in the name of
- 1:38Jesus for strength, for the battle for today.
- 1:41God, I pray, Lord, that you will fuel us.
- 1:44God, you will fan the flame. Father, iron sharpens iron.
- 1:48God, I pray that brothers and sisters, God will come together,
- 1:52Lord, and that we will not forsake the assembling.
- 1:56Father, I pray in the name of Jesus that you will help us,
- 1:59Lord, to understand our worth. God, give us our dignity.
- 2:03Help us to see ourselves in light of eternity.

- 2:09God, our Lord and our Master. Lord, we pray in the name of
- 2:13Jesus that you will continue to grow God your church.
- 2:19Lord, I pray that you will grow us, Lord, and sharpen us God and
- 2:24refine us. God, I pray that you will
- 2:28continue, Lord, to see you're playing all the way through.
- 2:34God, I pray for prophecy to unfold all around us.
- 2:37God, I pray against fear. God, I pray against fear of man.
- 2:41Lord, I pray, Lord, that you'll rebuke the devourer from off of
- 2:45our families. Lord, I pray for clarity today.
- 2:49I decrease as you increase. Holy Spirit, you guide us.
- 2:52Holy Spirit, you teach us. Give us discernment for the text
- 2:56today. Help us to see it, God, the way
- 2:58that you intended for us to see it.
- 3:00Lord, get rid of all of the presuppositions, get rid of all
- 3:06of our desires, God, of how we want to read this text.
- 3:11And Lord, I pray in the name of Jesus that you'll help us to see
- 3:14it the way that you intended for us to see it, God, and not only
- 3:18Lord, for interpretation, but for obedience.
- 3:21God that is born out of love. God for you and for Jesus and
- 3:26Holy Spirit, Yes, fill us today in the mighty name of Jesus, I
- 3:30pray, Amen. Let's start in verse one.
- 3:38And he said unto them, Truly I say unto you, that there be some
- 3:45of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death until
- 3:51they have seen the Kingdom of God come with power.
- 3:55What's he talking about here? Well, if you've been following
- 3:58along for any amount of time, you're going to know that Jesus
- 4:01has all of the disciples banded together at this moment and he
- 4:07is telling them what it's going to be like when he comes back
- 4:11with all of the angels. He is making his deity known to
- 4:15them that he is the Messiah and he is to suffer.
- 4:19And then he flips the script and he looks upon them and says some
- 4:23of you will not die before you see the Kingdom of God come.
- 4:28So here we're going to get to see this mount of
- 4:30Transfiguration, perhaps on Mount Hermon of that time, and
- 4:36Jesus is going to get together his special forces team, perhaps
- 4:42either his special forces team or the ones that he knew had the
- 4:48propensity to call down lightning and stick their foot
- 4:51in their mouth. Oh, Peter, James and John here,
- 4:54he's going to get this band of brothers together and he's going
- 4:58to take them up on top of this mount to see a wonderful work,
- 5:06to see the Kingdom of God coming and descending upon that
- 5:11mountaintop. Let's see how it goes.
- 5:13Verse 2. And after six days, Jesus took
- 5:17with him Peter and James and John, and he led them up into a
- 5:22high mountain apart by themselves, and he was
- 5:26transfigured before them. OK, So they left the 9 disciples
- 5:33down at the base camp. And here he's taken Peter, James
- 5:38and John up to the top of this mountain, and here he is
- 5:43transfigured. And if you flip over to Romans
- 5:47chapter 12, verses one and two, you're going to read that He
- 5:51tells us to not be conformed to this world, but to be
- 5:56transformed by the renewing of our minds.
- 6:00And here you're going to see this transfiguration happening.
- 6:04And this is what happens, friends, whenever we are
- 6:08indwelled with the Holy Spirit within us, there are moments
- 6:12that you can have that you see, and the person might not even be
- 6:16aware of what's happening, but the Holy Spirit shows up.
- 6:20The Holy Spirit radiates through that person.
- 6:23They might say something that you were just praying or
- 6:26thinking or wondering about and something you've been wrestling
- 6:31through, and they will speak a word and they didn't even know
- 6:35it. They were not even aware.
- 6:37And this is what happens when we're connected to the vine.
- 6:39And Jesus here is showing Peter, James and John that he is the
- 6:45Christ, that he is God Almighty Incarnate, and he is allowing
- 6:50his glory to come through. He is allowing the glory to
- 6:55shine. A bright like a billion Suns
- 6:59here, and brighter than anyone could ever launder those
- 7:03clothes. Let's see what he has to say
- 7:05here. Verse 3.
- 7:06And his clothing became shining, exceeding white as snow, so as
- 7:13no fuller on earth can white them.
- 7:17This is glory. This is glory, glory, glory.
- 7:22This is Jesus just revealing what has always been.
- 7:26This was not a gift from the Father to allow them to see that
- 7:30this was Jesus taking off the shroud, taking off the veil,
- 7:36taking off the the obstruction that was keeping the disciples
- 7:45from knowing who he was. And he had just got done telling
- 7:48them that he's going to have to suffer and go to the cross.
- 7:51And then Peter tries to rebuke him.
- 7:53And then here he is showing them who he truly is.
- 7:57Let's keep moving. For And there appeared unto them
- 8:01Elijah, Moses. And they were talking with
- 8:05Jesus. Elijah is representative of all
- 8:08the people that will be raptured in the end.
- 8:12And then Moses is a picture of the people that are dead in
- 8:19Christ that will be raised to life.
- 8:23And you can see that this is the Kingdom of God coming to earth.
- 8:28This is what it will be like, friends, during the thousand
- 8:32year reign of Christ. He's showing them, he's giving
- 8:36them a pictorial friends. And we know that the disciples,
- 8:40at this moment, just like in the Garden of Gethsemane, they had
- 8:43fallen asleep. They almost missed this moment.
- 8:46And if we're not careful, friends, we're going to miss the
- 8:50miracles that God is doing all around us every single day.
- 8:55Friends, this isn't just a one off thing.
- 8:58God is desirous to reveal to us His Kingdom come and His will be
- 9:03done right here on this earth, just as it is there in heaven.
- 9:07And God gives us glimpses and slivers of those moments that if
- 9:11we're not careful, we will miss them.
- 9:14Friends. And we'll relegate them to luck.
- 9:17And we'll relegate them to chance.
- 9:19And we'll relegate them to a doctor, or we'll relegate them
- 9:24to medicine, or relegate them to some kind of advancement in the
- 9:29scientific community. We'll relegate them to our own
- 9:33power. And we'll miss what God is doing
- 9:36all around us, Friends. And here the disciples had
- 9:40fallen asleep. And what a word for you, what a
- 9:42word for me. Wake up, O sleeper, Look around
- 9:46for today is the day of salvation.
- 9:49Look around. God is moving in our midst.
- 9:52God is healing. He has healing on his wings.
- 9:55Here comes the sun, here comes the glory.
- 9:59Look around. Bask in His presence friends,
- 10:02it's all around and He is going to come in the fullness during
- 10:08that thousand year reign friends and I pray to the Lord that you
- 10:12are there with us. Five.
- 10:17And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us
- 10:22to be here and let us make 3 tabernacles, one for you, one
- 10:27for Moses, one for Elijah. He did not know what to say.
- 10:31He was so overwhelmed he could not believe his eyes. 6/4 He
- 10:40with not what to say, for they were sore afraid.
- 10:45So you can see that He as they woke from their slumber, they
- 10:50look up and see Elijah. They look up and see Moses.
- 10:54They look up and see Jesus Christ, their Rabbi, their
- 10:59teacher. They are seeing Him transfigured
- 11:03before them in his glory, glory glory. 7 and there was a cloud
- 11:10that overshadowed them and a voice came out of the cloud and
- 11:14said, this is my beloved Son, hear him.
- 11:21God corrects Peter. God says listen to him.
- 11:30We would do well to be still and know that He is God and He is
- 11:38Lord and He is Christ. We would do well to sit and
- 11:46listen to that still small voice and then to obey God.
- 11:54Give us the strength to obey the still small voice that tells us
- 12:01what it is that we are to do for today.
- 12:06Hear Him 8 And suddenly when they had looked around and
- 12:11about, they saw no man anymore except Jesus, only with
- 12:14themselves. Jesus will never leave you nor
- 12:17forsake you. Jesus is there in the car.
- 12:22Jesus is there in the closet. Jesus is there in the workplace.
- 12:25Jesus is there when you sleep. Jesus and Jesus and Jesus is our
- 12:34everything. Grab a hold of the hem and the
- 12:36garment and be healed. Today Jesus is there with you.
- 12:46Jesus is so kind, He loves well. 9 And as they came down from the
- 12:54mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what
- 12:57things they had seen until the Son of Man were risen from the
- 13:01dead. So here he comes back into his
- 13:06earthly tent, He comes back to the mortal body.
- 13:12He comes back to being all man, all God.
- 13:18And as he's walking along, the disciples are trying to put
- 13:25their minds back together, trying to pick their brains up
- 13:29off of the floor because they were so completely undone by
- 13:35this vision and Jesus coming back into his earthly tent.
- 13:43And he's telling them, do not say anything to anybody about
- 13:47what you just saw. Wow, what a what a moment this
- 13:52must have been for those three. What a moment they had to
- 13:57wrestle with what they were had just seen.
- 14:00And now they're masters back, just like he's always been, and
- 14:06they're trying to figure it all out.
- 14:09It is no different for us today. When we know that God can but He
- 14:14doesn't. When we know that He is all
- 14:19sufficient but there seems to be lack in our house.
- 14:24When we know that He can heal but we're still sick.
- 14:30When we know that He can raise life back from the dead, but he
- 14:35leaves them in the grave. And we must wrestle with this
- 14:44point of contention here. And the disciples in this moment
- 14:51had just seen Jesus Christ in all his glory, and now he's back
- 14:57to walking along with them, and he's telling them not to speak
- 15:03about it. Sometimes, friends, what the
- 15:07Lord does for you is for you. And when you run around trying
- 15:13to tell everybody about it and they just look at you with a
- 15:16very puzzled look on their face, or they say, yeah, yeah, that's
- 15:20pretty cool. And you say, no, you don't
- 15:23understand it. You don't get it.
- 15:26This is what it must feel like because he's speaking to you.
- 15:31That was for you. Jesus wanted to comfort you.
- 15:36And don't be surprised, friends, whenever others don't quite
- 15:42marvel in the miracle. Don't quite marvel and what
- 15:47Jesus said to you or did for you like he was whenever he spoke it
- 15:55to you and you felt like you were going to jump out of your
- 15:57skin. And here the disciples were
- 16:01trying to figure it all out. And it's no different for you
- 16:05and for me. We're trying to figure it all
- 16:08out to friends. How can God be so grand and big?
- 16:13How can God be all powerful? But there's still people in the
- 16:17world that are starving, unclean, drinking water.
- 16:22We must wrestle through these moments ourselves.
- 16:28And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with
- 16:32another what the rising from the dead should mean.
- 16:35They missed the whole thing. And you and I, we have this
- 16:38helicopter view. We're up over the trees.
- 16:41We're getting to see this Birds Eye view of what he meant.
- 16:47But the disciples, they were still down on the trail, they
- 16:50were still down underneath the forest and they were just
- 16:54looking at the very simple, basic ways of literal ways of
- 17:00thinking about all these things. Imagine how they had just seen
- 17:03Jesus in all his glory and now here they are kicking the can
- 17:09trying to figure out what does he mean by the rising from the
- 17:13dead. They had seen Jesus heal Gyrus's
- 17:19little girl, and here they're still wondering about this power
- 17:23within this man. They had seen Elijah and Moses
- 17:27and how did they know it was Elijah and Moses?
- 17:30Praise God, Hallelujah that they knew that.
- 17:33And here you can see that they were questioning what is this
- 17:39rising from the dead mean? 11 And they asked him, saying,
- 17:44why say the scribes that Elijah must first come now they had
- 17:48just seen Elijah, but they're saying, how can you be the
- 17:53Messiah when Elijah was supposed to come first, even though
- 17:59Elijah had just come? You were here before that.
- 18:02So they're trying to figure out this biblical prophecy and here,
- 18:05friends, what a word for you and what a word for me.
- 18:09We can get so turned around and our interpretation of prophecy
- 18:15and what is it all supposed to look like?
- 18:17And here the Jews at this time, they were all turned around with
- 18:21their prophecy, thinking that there was 2 Messiahs, thinking
- 18:25that one was going to come and conquer their enemies and the
- 18:29other one must suffer. And there was more passages
- 18:33about the conquering Messiah than there is about the
- 18:36suffering Messiah. And so we have to give them a
- 18:40little grace, friends, that they had missed it.
- 18:42But it's no different in our day.
- 18:44It's no different in our hour. There are so many people that
- 18:47are turned around on prophecy. And that is why it's so
- 18:51important not to listen to what someone is telling you, but to
- 18:56listen to the Word of God and let the Word of God wash over
- 19:00you and let the Word of God teach you, friends.
- 19:02And then as others come along, and as they are expounding upon
- 19:08the Scriptures, the Spirit within you will leap and you
- 19:11will know that what they are speaking is truth.
- 19:14And there will be a connection, friends.
- 19:16And that is what we must do. We must be in the Word of God
- 19:21for ourselves. We must be eating and munching
- 19:24and devouring the Word of God and not just listening to man
- 19:30made ideas of what this word says.
- 19:35We must know it and own it for ourselves.
- 19:38Get in this book for yourselves. And I'm so excited for those who
- 19:42have taken the faith journey with me, who are getting into
- 19:45this word daily and who are actually studying it and
- 19:49meditating upon it and wanting to know more about it it.
- 19:53You must get in this book friends.
- 19:55This is our life source. We cannot just sit on the
- 19:59sidelines and allow others. To manipulate and allow others
- 20:04to tell us what it all means. This is how we get turned around
- 20:09and our interpretation and obedience to the scriptures and
- 20:13to prophecy. 12 And he answered and told them.
- 20:19Elijah truly comes first and restores all things.
- 20:25And how is it written of the Son of man that he must suffer many
- 20:29things and be set at naughty? So you can see here that Jesus
- 20:33is telling them that if they would accept it.
- 20:36John the Baptist has come in the spirit of Elijah with the camel
- 20:41hair and with the leather belt. And you can see that God put His
- 20:47stamp, that same spirit that Elijah had on John the Baptist.
- 20:53And you can see here that Jesus Christ is saying, if you will
- 20:57accept it, He has already come, but if you will not accept it,
- 21:02He will come in the end as one of the two witnesses. 13 But I
- 21:07say unto you, that Elijah is indeed come, and they have done
- 21:11unto him whatsoever they listed as it is written of him.
- 21:15They would not accept John the Baptist ministry in his message
- 21:19of repent and be baptized. And then Jesus comes and says
- 21:24the same thing, friends, and we should be saying the same thing.
- 21:27And they murdered John, and they murdered the Messiah.
- 21:31And don't be surprised when you're persecuted, friends. 14
- 21:36And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great
- 21:39multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.
- 21:42So here is another picture, friends, Imagine how Jesus is
- 21:47Lord, and he's sitting on his rightful throne in the thousand
- 21:52year reign. And then here you see those that
- 21:56have been raptured being represented by Elijah, and those
- 22:02that were dead in Christ being raised to life, and that is
- 22:07represented by Moses. And then you see Peter, James
- 22:12and John, and they are still in their mortal bodies.
- 22:16And that is a representative of the Jewish nation during the
- 22:20thousand year reign. They're still in their mortal
- 22:22bodies and having to figure it all out.
- 22:25And then here you're getting to see that the people down at the
- 22:29bottom of the mountain, these are the nations coming into
- 22:32Israel to learn about the Lord during the thousand year reign.
- 22:36You're getting to see the Kingdom of heaven coming to the
- 22:39earth during this one little moment here.
- 22:43Lock in, pay attention. They came down and they saw
- 22:46people arguing. And 15 straightway all the
- 22:49people when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and they
- 22:53ran to him, saluting him. So imagine this, here you have a
- 22:59father who has brought his demonic possessed boy who is
- 23:06convulsing and who is foaming at the mouth, and this spirit is
- 23:11trying to kill him by throwing him into the water in the fire.
- 23:15And here the disciples were trying their best to drive out,
- 23:20but they could not because they were not connected to the power
- 23:23source. They had wandered away even
- 23:26though Jesus had given them all the authority to drive out the
- 23:30demons. They had not cultivated their
- 23:35faith. They had not went and spent time
- 23:39with the Father. They were just thinking that it
- 23:41was their inheritance. And Jesus told us, whatever we
- 23:45have will be taken from us if we are not careful.
- 23:50And what a word for us today when we go out, like Samson
- 23:54thinking that we'll just go out in the power of the Lord.
- 23:57But he did not realize that the Lord had left.
- 24:00And it's no different for us sometimes whenever we go and we
- 24:04try to hit somebody over the head with the Bible and then you
- 24:09go looking for the passage and you cannot find it because the
- 24:13little bit that you thought you had has been taken from you.
- 24:16And that is such a spiritual reality that it will not make
- 24:29sense if you have never experienced it.
- 24:35And I pray that you are connected to the power source.
- 24:39I pray that you are always on fire for God.
- 24:42I pray that you do not fall away and do not let the flame go out
- 24:49and have to be rekindled. But for those of us who have
- 24:54gone out in our own strength and who have been dismayed and sent
- 24:59back with our tail between our legs, we understand that
- 25:02principle, and you must cultivate that environment.
- 25:05And here the disciples, they were not connected to the power
- 25:10source. Perhaps they were bitter that
- 25:12Jesus had taken Peter, James, and John up with them and left
- 25:16them down at the base camp. Perhaps, perhaps they had let
- 25:20their spiritual hunger die out. And perhaps they were all upset,
- 25:27and that is why they could not. 16 And he asked the scribes what
- 25:33question you with them? 17 And one of the multitude
- 25:36answered, and said, Master, I have brought unto you my son,
- 25:40which has a dumb spirit. 18 And wheresoever he takes him, he
- 25:45tears him, and he foams, and he gnashes with his teeth, and pine
- 25:50it away. And I spoke to your disciples
- 25:53that they should cast him out, and they could not.
- 25:57They could not because they were not connected to the power
- 26:00source. They had allowed their fervor,
- 26:04they had allow their walk, They had allowed their zeal to go
- 26:10out. 19 And he answered him and said, Oh, faithless generation,
- 26:18how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer?
- 26:21Bring him unto me. So here, this is what you can
- 26:25see, that it is the faithlessness.
- 26:30Friends, it is impossible to please God without faith.
- 26:34We must cultivate this faith. We must continue to increase our
- 26:43level of faith. Friends, God help us to increase
- 26:47our faith. Jesus puts his finger on the
- 26:54issue and he tells them that they are faithless.
- 27:00And he's saying I will not be with you forever.
- 27:03He's saying I will go to the right hand of the Father and
- 27:07send to you the Holy Spirit. He left in his bodily form.
- 27:12But yes, he is always among us. Yes, Jesus is always watching
- 27:17his eyes Rove to and fro. 20 And they brought unto him, and when
- 27:24they saw him, straightway the Spirit tore him, and he fell on
- 27:28the ground and wallowed, foaming.
- 27:31So you can see this scene that this demon recognized who Jesus
- 27:36was. And this is one last ditch
- 27:38effort to tear this boy apart and to kill him.
- 27:42And we know from John 10 that Jesus said that he came to give
- 27:47us life into give us life abundantly.
- 27:50But we know that our enemy has come to steal, kill and destroy.
- 27:58And that is what he is trying to do, and that is what He will
- 28:02always do. And in the beginning it looks
- 28:05like beauty, and in the beginning it looks like we could
- 28:08get our glory without the suffering.
- 28:11But Jesus here is going to tell us that we must suffer first and
- 28:15then receive the glory. And that is God's way.
- 28:18But so you know the enemy will always try to destroy you, and
- 28:22he promises you all of the promises, but he cannot deliver
- 28:26upon them. He could never deliver upon
- 28:29them. It is always deception with the
- 28:31enemy, and in the beginning it looks as if it's the right
- 28:34thing, but in the end it bites like a Viper. 21 And he asked
- 28:42his father, How long is it a ghost since this came unto him?
- 28:47And he said of a child. So this boy had been tormented
- 28:53since he was a little child. And sometimes, friends, it's the
- 28:57generational curses that we must break.
- 29:00We must be the chain Breakers for our families, friends.
- 29:04And this father had enough wherewithal to bring the boy to
- 29:09Jesus. And we must do the same,
- 29:11friends, for our families. We must be the priest of our
- 29:15home. We must take our children and
- 29:19our wives. We must take our loved ones.
- 29:21We must take them to Jesus, take them and let him drive out
- 29:27anything that is unclean. And we are inundated with so
- 29:31many things, friends, on the television, so many things on
- 29:35our phones, so many things on every billboard.
- 29:39There are so many things that are coming our way that is not
- 29:42from God. And if we're not careful, we
- 29:45will open ourselves up, friends, and then we will be inhabited by
- 29:50the unclean, impure spirits, and we must take them to Jesus
- 29:55Christ and allow Jesus to drive out.
- 29:58In the name of Jesus we drive out all the impure, unclean,
- 30:03evil, demonic spirits. And it that is the only name
- 30:07that can do that is the name above all names that has the
- 30:10power to drive out anything that doesn't belong.
- 30:15Bring them to the Lord, bring them to Jesus, no matter their
- 30:20age. 22 And oftentimes it has cast him into the fire and into
- 30:25the waters to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have
- 30:30compassion on us and help us here.
- 30:33This man has a little faith here.
- 30:36This man has the audacity to speak to God Almighty Incarnate
- 30:43and to say, if you can, and Jesus is going to correct his
- 30:52theology, he's going to correct his thinking. 23 And Jesus said
- 31:00unto him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him
- 31:06that believes. So Jesus is telling him,
- 31:11increase your faith. He's telling you increase your
- 31:15faith. He's telling me, increase your
- 31:17faith. And it's not the size of your
- 31:20faith, it's who your faith is in.
- 31:23We must take our eyes off of this world and how this world
- 31:27operates and everything that this world is trying to tell us
- 31:30and trying to distract us. And we must put our eyes, locked
- 31:34eyes on Jesus, believe that he can believe that He wants to
- 31:38believe that he's willing. Friends, consecrate the temple.
- 31:41Get rid of anything that does not belong.
- 31:44Friends, are you not able to see that you are the temple of God?
- 31:51That the Holy Spirit dwells inside of you?
- 31:54That all the power is available to you?
- 31:57Friends, to drive out the unclean spirit and to heal.
- 32:01Friends, Jesus has given us that.
- 32:03He's given us a helper. Friends, increase your faith.
- 32:09All things are possible to him that believes. 24 And
- 32:14straightway the father of the child cried out and said with
- 32:17tears, Lord, I believe, but help my unbelief.
- 32:21That should be our cry. Friends, this is our cry.
- 32:25Cry out to the Father and say, Lord, help me to believe.
- 32:30Help me to increase my faith. Help me to see Jesus in all his
- 32:35glory. 25 And when Jesus saw that the people came running
- 32:42together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, You
- 32:46dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter
- 32:51no more into him. What authority?
- 32:54And He gives you that same authority, friends.
- 32:56And we should not go off on these tangents where we think
- 33:01that we find our identity and all these different kinds of
- 33:05ministries, friends. And yes, He gives us.
- 33:08However, we just need to speak plainly.
- 33:13It is not a show and that is what I believe the Word of God
- 33:17is saying. As all the people were coming
- 33:19for a show, Jesus wouldn't even allow it.
- 33:22He saw them coming because they knew what He was about to do,
- 33:26and before they could even reach him, He just very plainly speaks
- 33:31and tells the unclean, foul spirit to come out of him and do
- 33:35not enter. And it is by the name of Jesus
- 33:39Christ that they must obey. The darkness flees at that name.
- 33:43Bring that name upon your lips. It is by that name that we are
- 33:47saved. It is by that name that we are
- 33:50cleansed. It is by that name that we are
- 33:52made whole. There is no other name.
- 33:55There is no other salvation under heaven or in the heavens
- 33:58or in the Galaxy. There is no other salvation
- 34:02other than Jesus Christ. Jesus is our all sufficient
- 34:06sacrifice. Friends, call upon that name
- 34:09today and be saved. 26 in the spirit cried and ripped him sore
- 34:16and came out of him, and he was as one dead in so much that many
- 34:20said he is dead. This little boy lying there
- 34:28lifeless, motionless. He had been tormented since he
- 34:37was a child. And here Jesus just speaks a
- 34:44word. Jesus speaks a better word over
- 34:47our situation. Call upon that name today.
- 34:50Be healed, here comes Jesus and 27 But Jesus took him by the
- 34:57hand, and he lifted them up, and he arose.
- 35:00Let Jesus take you by the hand, Let Jesus take your child by the
- 35:04hand. Let Jesus take your loved one by
- 35:06the hand and lift them up. Cry out to the Lord today for
- 35:13the healing. Cry out to the Lord today for
- 35:16the sanctification. Cry out to the Lord today for
- 35:20that consecration. Cry out to the Lord today that
- 35:24He will make you whole and He will heal and save your loved
- 35:29ones. Look at the faith of this
- 35:33Father. This little faith of this Father
- 35:37has brought about a miracle for the Son.
- 35:40What a word for us parents who need to be taking our children
- 35:45unto the Lord and allowing Him to cleanse them, to make them
- 35:50whole, to put them on their feet, to give them purpose and
- 35:54dignity. There's such an attack from the
- 35:57enemy, but in the name of Jesus, the enemy flees. 28 And when he
- 36:06was coming to the house, the disciples asked him privately,
- 36:09Why could not we cast him out? 29 And he said unto them, This
- 36:15kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
- 36:20What a word for us today, friends.
- 36:23You could pray the paint off the walls, but you must incorporate
- 36:26fasting into your life as well. You need to have this discipline
- 36:33built into the Christian walk, friends, and watch how it moves
- 36:38the heart of God. 30 And they came, and they departed there,
- 36:44and passed through Galilee, and he would.
- 36:47Not that any man should know it. So he's trying to get away.
- 36:52Friends. 31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them,
- 36:56The Son of Man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall
- 37:00kill him, and after that he is killed, he shall rise.
- 37:05The third day He cannot make it any more plain.
- 37:09He is making it as humanly possible to understand.
- 37:13Jesus is telling them eternal truths in the most simple, basic
- 37:19ways, and they still miss it. 32 But they understood not that
- 37:26saying, and they were afraid to ask him.
- 37:30Do not be afraid to ask the Lord to clarify the things in your
- 37:36theology that do not add up. Friends, do not be afraid to
- 37:41come to the Lord and ask the Lord to help you to understand
- 37:47all of these words on the page, this ink on paper.
- 37:52Do not be afraid to come and to just be real and raw and open
- 37:59before the Lord. He is not offended by all of
- 38:02your trivial questions. Friends, He's not offended
- 38:08whenever we are wrestling through all of the words on
- 38:13these pages. This book is alive and active
- 38:16and it's reading you. He's not afraid of you having
- 38:22thoughts and doubts. Friends, come to the Lord, give
- 38:26it all up. Give it all over and watch how
- 38:30He gives you a sound mind. Watch how He gives you sound
- 38:34doctrine. Watch how He gives you peace
- 38:38that can only come from Him. 33 And he came to Capernaum, and
- 38:44being in the house, he asked them what was it that you
- 38:49disputed among yourselves, by the way?
- 38:54So we know that he had just got done telling them for the second
- 38:57time that he's going to be murdered by the Jews and that he
- 39:01was going to rise again on the third day.
- 39:05And now he's want to know, which he already knew, but he's
- 39:08pulling it out. He wants to know what it is that
- 39:11they were disputing about 30-4, but they held their peace.
- 39:15For by the way, they had disputed among themselves who
- 39:18should be the greatest. The first time he revealed it,
- 39:23Peter rebuked him. The second time he revealed it,
- 39:26they're arguing about who's the greatest.
- 39:29These disciples had missed it. And if we're not careful,
- 39:32friends, we're going to miss the whole big picture as well.
- 39:36And yes, we might enter in, but however we are going to be
- 39:40robbed of all the rewards that we could have had if we could
- 39:43have locked in and understood what it was that he's trying to
- 39:46do for this day and for this hour.
- 39:49And the number one thing you need to realize is that Jesus is
- 39:54Lord and that none of the other stuff all around you even
- 39:58matters in the end if it's not in light of eternity, friends,
- 40:03relationships, worship. We need to be living in light of
- 40:07eternity, friends. We should not be serving trying
- 40:11to serve both God and Mammon. 35 And he sat down and called the
- 40:1812 and said unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same
- 40:25shall be last of all and servant of all.
- 40:30So here Jesus flips the script. Jesus here shows us the
- 40:34dichotomy. Jesus here shows us this point
- 40:38of conjecture. Jesus here shows us that it's an
- 40:41upside down, inside out Kingdom. Jesus here shows us that if you
- 40:45want to be the first, you must be the last.
- 40:49But any of us who are trying to push our weight around and say,
- 40:54listen here, I'm the leader, you will be last friends.
- 40:59We should be the servant heart. We should have humility and be
- 41:04humbled and be like the janitor in the garbage collector, not
- 41:09like the CEO. 36 And he took a child and set him in the midst
- 41:17of them, and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto
- 41:23them, Well here you're going to have to understand that there is
- 41:26an Aramaic word, and the servant and the child are synonymous.
- 41:30It's the same word. So Jesus knowing their thoughts
- 41:35and knowing that they're arguing about who's the greatest.
- 41:38And perhaps that was born out of Peter, James and John getting to
- 41:42go up on the mountain. And here Jesus is going to show
- 41:47them the error of their thinking.
- 41:49And he's going to take a little child and say, you must become
- 41:52like this little child. You must be a servant.
- 41:59And it is no different today, friends.
- 42:01Nothing has changed. He's telling you the same thing.
- 42:04You must have childlike faith to enter into the Kingdom of God.
- 42:0937 Whosoever shall receive 1 of such children in my name
- 42:13receives me, and whosoever shall receives me receives not me, but
- 42:18him that sent me. He's talking about God Almighty,
- 42:22he's talking about Yahweh, he's talking about El Helion, the
- 42:28Most High God. He's saying that God has put his
- 42:31stamp of approval. He just got done on the mount of
- 42:34Transfiguration saying listen to him.
- 42:37And he's saying, anybody who receives one of these little
- 42:40children are just so incredibly blessed. 38 And John answered
- 42:49him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils, and your
- 42:53name followed not us. And we forbade him because he
- 42:58followed not us. So here John's trying to show
- 43:02the Lord how zealous he is for him.
- 43:05And it's no different for you, for me.
- 43:07We go around giving our pedigree, we go around giving
- 43:10our resume, we go around telling everybody all the things that we
- 43:14have done for God. We've lost the reward, friends,
- 43:22it should not be. Hey, let me tell you about a
- 43:24time where I did this thing for the Lord.
- 43:28No, we should be living it every day, Friends, Every day is a
- 43:33journey, and it's a great adventure with God, and you
- 43:36never know where you're going to be.
- 43:38You might be in the jungles, friends.
- 43:40You might be in the desert, friends.
- 43:42God might lead you into the inner city, Friends, you never
- 43:45know where you're going to be when you're following hard after
- 43:47God Almighty, when you're following hard after the Lord
- 43:50Jesus Christ, it's a great adventure.
- 43:53And every day we can have zeal for His house.
- 44:00He's trying to give him his pedigree here and telling him
- 44:03and Jesus is going to show the disciples that there is no
- 44:06neutrality. There's no spiritual
- 44:09Switzerland, friends. There is only you are for him or
- 44:14against him. Period.
- 44:18There is no third option, and Jesus is going to show us. 39
- 44:22And Jesus said, Forbid him not, for there is no man which shall
- 44:26do a miracle in my name that can lightly speak evil of me.
- 44:30So he's saying to them that you are either for Jesus or against
- 44:35him, And God knows who belongs to him.
- 44:38And God is making sure that those who do belong to him are
- 44:42going to make it there. 40 For he that is not against us is on
- 44:47our heart. 41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to
- 44:52drink in my name, because you belong to Christ, truly I say
- 44:57unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
- 44:59Reward, reward, friends. Here it is his built in friends.
- 45:05No, we did not do what we do for the rewards, 'cause if you are
- 45:08doing it for the rewards, you've lost your reward.
- 45:12However, when you do it, and you do it with the right intention,
- 45:16God will reward you. 42 And whosoever shall offend one of
- 45:22these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that
- 45:25a millstone were hung about his neck, and that he was cast into
- 45:29the sea. It would be better for them
- 45:31never to be born than to offend one of these little ones.
- 45:37We must have faith like a little child.
- 45:42And he's talking about hell, he's talking about the fire that
- 45:47never goes out in the worm that never dies.
- 45:50He's talking about those who will never place their faith in
- 45:54the Lord Jesus Christ, and they stay hostile towards God and
- 45:58towards his believers their entire life, and they die in
- 46:02that. It would have been better for
- 46:04them to have never been born. 43 And if your hand offends you,
- 46:09cut it off. It is better for you to enter
- 46:12into life maimed, having two hands, and go to hell into the
- 46:16fire that never shall be quenched. 44 Where the worm dies
- 46:22not in the fire is not quenched. 45 And if your foot offends you,
- 46:28cut it off, it is better for you to enter halted into life than
- 46:34having 2 feet and be cast into hell, into the fire that never
- 46:38shall be quenched, Where the worm dies not and the fire is
- 46:43not quenched. 47 And if your eye offends you, pluck it out.
- 46:49It is better for you to enter into the Kingdom of God with one
- 46:53eye than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire 48 where the
- 46:58worm dies not and the fire is not quenched.
- 47:04So we can see that Jesus here he goes on a tangent and Jesus here
- 47:08has already told us to clean the inside of the cup.
- 47:11Friends, Jesus has already told us that so much murder, envy and
- 47:17strife, deceitfulness, lies, there's so much that is born out
- 47:22of the heart. It's born from all of our impure
- 47:27thoughts that we allow to take root.
- 47:30He's telling us that we need to take care of those things before
- 47:35they ever manifest themselves out into the outward open, into
- 47:40our public life, and it will destroy us.
- 47:43He's telling us to take care of them at their root here.
- 47:46And He's telling us that there is a literal place called hell
- 47:50where the worm never dies and the fire never goes out.
- 47:54Friends, where they'll be weeping, gnashing of teeth, and
- 47:57it is forever, It is a billion deaths over, and you can never
- 48:02die. 49 For everyone shall be salted with fire, and every
- 48:12sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
- 48:15So here he is telling us that everybody has to go through
- 48:18trials and persecutions in this life.
- 48:21And it is for the testing of us and the purification of us.
- 48:25It is for the sanctification and consecration of all of us
- 48:30believers. And even for those who do not
- 48:35believe and will not believe, they have to go through so many
- 48:40trials and tribulations in this life, friends.
- 48:44But the sad reality is they wallow in all of their self pity
- 48:52and they never reach up and grab a hold of his hand and allow him
- 48:58to pull them up. And out of that pit of despair,
- 49:02of that muck and that mire, they wallow in it and they die in it.
- 49:10And hell is worse than anything that this life could ever throw
- 49:17at you, and the only hope that we have is that we are going to
- 49:22be there with Jesus Christ for all of eternity. 50 Salt is
- 49:31good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you
- 49:37season it? Have salt in yourselves and have
- 49:41peace one with another. There is no peace outside of a
- 49:46relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ.
- 49:50Do not let a human being stand between you and God.
- 49:57It is only the blood of Jesus Christ that is going to get us
- 50:03there in the end. Friends.
- 50:06We must be salt and light unto this wicked and perverse
- 50:10generation, Friends, they need to see him in US.
- 50:15People are tired of hearing about it.
- 50:17They want to see it. We must live it out, friends.
- 50:19We must. We must finish the race strong,
- 50:23Friends. We must have integrity.
- 50:32Friends. Do the right thing even when no
- 50:34one is looking. Have the salt.
- 50:37And yes, salt makes things taste good, and you can look at it
- 50:41that way. But salt in a wound sure does
- 50:46not feel good, but it purifies and it cleanses and we are
- 50:49called to be salt. Speak truth in love no matter
- 50:56the outcome. But how would you know the truth
- 51:00unless you're in this word? Jesus Christ is the truth.
- 51:07He's the way and He's the life and we know that the Word was
- 51:13with God and the Word was God and we must stay connected to
- 51:18the vine and produce fruit. Friends, stay salty.
- 51:23I hope that you have been blessed by this chapter.
- 51:28I know I sure have many times over.
- 51:34I'm praying for you. I love you so does God.
- 51:44See you back here tomorrow. God bless you.
