- 0:02Well, I read this article and I had to take a little time
- 0:06because myself, I read the article and I just start
- 0:10thinking the stupidity of the person and my inner monologue
- 0:17starts going off and I'm just like ranting to myself about the
- 0:22stupidity of the things that were said by this person.
- 0:26And I think even even more so is the, the lack of the, the lack
- 0:32of thought, the lack of self reflection, the inability to
- 0:36take accountability for the words that you say.
- 0:42No self reflection, just complete, just complete,
- 0:46complete. That's a word, just complete,
- 0:48insufferable hubris. Just stupidity and hubris,
- 0:55that's all. I can think when you have
- 0:56someone say something like this and you're supposed to be this
- 1:00kind of public figure, you'll build as a so-called expert and
- 1:05this is what you say. So anyway, my inner monologue
- 1:10kind of like had a bit of a rant and then I'm like, OK, I don't
- 1:14want to. I don't want to say all these
- 1:15other things that I was thinking about, but let's read the
- 1:22article together. Get my OK, so this came out
- 1:35career mail. Nice person from Queensland.
- 1:39From Queensland. Some people should just not
- 1:42speak. Really, really get a
- 1:46sharpshooter tourism executive condemned for Trump comments
- 1:51It's the QLD tourism executive has apologised after suggesting
- 1:56Donald Trump's assassination would boost the supply at an
- 1:59industry events. There's her face right there.
- 2:02Look, isn't that just the face of that's the fight?
- 2:06It's see her face like that and you go, Oh yeah, OK.
- 2:09She should be talking at a public event for sure.
- 2:12Tourism executive Melanie Anderson reference the possible
- 2:16assassination. A high-ranking QLD tourism
- 2:18executive high-ranking. Dare I say she should not be any
- 2:23kind of rank. She should be bang out the door.
- 2:25She's apologized. Well, when you read what she
- 2:27says, she hasn't really apologized.
- 2:29Like I said, no accountability, No, no ability to reflect on
- 2:33what she's saying. No taking account.
- 2:36OK, I've said this. No, no, it's one of those
- 2:38apologies where it's like, oh, I'm sorry that, you know, I'm,
- 2:41I'm sorry that you, I'm sorry you felt this way.
- 2:45I don't know. She's only saying this because
- 2:48people have called her out. That's all.
- 2:49So high-ranking QLD tourism executive has apologized for
- 2:55sensationally declaring the assassination of U.S.
- 2:57President Donald Trump could help boost the state's hotel
- 3:01supply. QLD Tourism Industry Council
- 3:04strategy and advocacy general manager Melanie Anderson was an
- 3:09expert panelist. They got to stop using this word
- 3:12expert. They've obviously don't
- 3:15understand what expert means. It's lost all meaning.
- 3:19Stop using the word. She was an expert panellist at
- 3:23the Property Council of Australia's official QLD 2026
- 3:26Hotel Outlook research launch. That's all one sentence.
- 3:31There's no one. There's no one at the Courier
- 3:34Mail know how to structure a sentence anymore.
- 3:36That is way too long. It's basic, basic English
- 3:39people. She made the poor joke in
- 3:41response to a question about what her one priority would be
- 3:44to help boost the state's hotel supply.
- 3:48I would say get a sharpshooter for Donald Trump, she said.
- 3:52Ha ha ha, how funny that would fix the problems right now and
- 3:56let us get on with business. I I read things like this, like
- 4:00these dumb comments and I just think, wow, reprobate mind the
- 4:05inability to think clearly. We just, some people, just that
- 4:10we, we've just lost it here in Australia.
- 4:12So get a sharpshooter that would fix the problems right now and
- 4:16let us get on with business. Yeah, OK.
- 4:19Property Council executive, Queensland executive director.
- 4:22I'm so ashamed, embarrassed that this is Queensland saying this.
- 4:27This is the kind of stuff you'd expect to come out of someone's
- 4:29mouth from Victoria or NSW. But Queensland.
- 4:32Come on Brikey, so just care car have you pronounced that took to
- 4:39the stage after the panel and distances her organization from
- 4:43the comment. There's a picture of Trump there
- 4:45after he got shot in the ear. Remember and remember someone
- 4:48actually died when this happened.
- 4:49Someone else actually died. So, you know, when you when
- 4:52you're advocating for bullets to go flying around to kill one
- 4:55person, remember other people quite often get injured too, you
- 4:58clown. The Property Council does not
- 5:01support or endorse the assassination of heads of state.
- 5:04She told the audience of about 150 people at the lunch.
- 5:08Asked by the Courier Mail to respond, QTIC chief executive
- 5:11Natasia Wheeler notice it's all women.
- 5:14It's all women in charge of this thing.
- 5:16Condemned Miss Anderson's comments and said the matter was
- 5:19being investigated. What's there to investigate?
- 5:22She says it out in public. I never understood this whole
- 5:26wheel. The matter is being
- 5:27investigated. It you know, anyway comments
- 5:33made today, it just getting the investigation.
- 5:36It's just a copy out because it's just a copy out.
- 5:39Basically you're saying, well, I just don't want to answer your
- 5:41question. So I'm going to say the matter
- 5:43is being investigated. As someone who's been a part of
- 5:48actual investigations, you know, things where you have to
- 5:51investigate because you don't know the truth, you don't know
- 5:54what was said and what was done, and you're actually gathering
- 5:56evidence. When the thing happens in front
- 6:00of you, when you've got footage and you've got eyewitness
- 6:02accounts and you've heard it yourself, what's there to
- 6:04investigate? You go up there, you say numpty,
- 6:11what are you doing? It's a 2 minute investigation.
- 6:15What were you saying? Why?
- 6:18Anyway, comments made today by QT IC team member at an industry
- 6:22event was inappropriate and do not reflect the views or values
- 6:25of our organization. Mrs. Wheeler said QTIC is
- 6:28committed to supporting and advocating QLD's tourism
- 6:31industry in a professional and respectful manner and there is
- 6:34no place for those comments within our sector or our
- 6:36organization. She should be fired.
- 6:39Later, Miss Anderson issued an apology saying she regretted
- 6:43making the comments. So like I said, there's no real,
- 6:46there's no real self reflection, taking accountability.
- 6:49It's just pure hubris. I apologise for causing offence.
- 6:53That's always the, it's the lightweight, it's the what's
- 6:57the, what was that brand that drink, the Claytons apology.
- 7:00You know, I'm not really sorry. I don't think that I shouldn't
- 7:03have said it. I'm just, I'm sorry that I
- 7:05caused offence to you. I apologise for causing offence
- 7:08and distracting from the event Missus Anderson said.
- 7:12She added, I have worked in the QLD tourism industry for more
- 7:15than 20 years and I've seen first hand how much the current
- 7:19Middle East crisis is hurting QLD tourism operators,
- 7:22businesses and communities. And she's talking like she's a a
- 7:26war hero. I've seen the devastation that's
- 7:29been caused by the destruction by the and you know, it just
- 7:34touched my heart and I just said this.
- 7:36What what is she even saying here?
- 7:38I've seen all these things happen.
- 7:40I've seen first hand because what you've been over in the
- 7:43Middle East while they've been bombing and while everyone's
- 7:45been fighting. Were you there in the Middle
- 7:47East when in Iran, when, you know, it was only what not even
- 7:51a year ago that Iran had was responsible for killing about 30
- 7:55odd thousand of its own citizens, you know, 30 or
- 7:59thousand of its own citizens. Or maybe when Hamas who was
- 8:02supported by Iran went in and killed 1000 people in one day in
- 8:06Israel. Were you there then?
- 8:07Did you see all that? And that's why you've said all
- 8:09these things So obviously Donald Trump.
- 8:14So Trump survived 2 assassination attempts during
- 8:17his 2024 campaign, including blah, blah, blah.
- 8:21The most recent attempt on his life came last month when an
- 8:24armed man rushed the Security Perimeter Property Council.
- 8:28This is her Jess care car have you saying she was forced to
- 8:31distance herself. Australians linked to comments.
- 8:34This is actually links into another story that happened just
- 8:37the other day too Linked to comments appearing to Insight.
- 8:40The assassination of Mr. Trump have had their ability to travel
- 8:43to the US impacted media personality and probably one of
- 8:49the let's say one of the people who you just wish would not have
- 8:53access to a telephone, social media, the Internet at all.
- 8:58Abby Chatfield. I just, I don't understand why
- 9:02anyone listens or watches her. I just, oh, you know, she, she,
- 9:09I won't say anything because I'll say anything.
- 9:13Media personality Abby Chatfield apologized earlier this month.
- 9:17Again, her her apology too, was not really an, an actual
- 9:21apology. It was just, oh, I'm sorry, you
- 9:24know, I'm sorry you got offended and I'm sorry that I've been
- 9:28caught saying these things. I'm sorry that you called me
- 9:30out. Oh, and then she kind of
- 9:31completely denies that. You've just all taken it the
- 9:33right way. That's not the way I I meant it.
- 9:36But when you look at what Abby Chatfield actually did say,
- 9:40you're like, that's exactly what you meant.
- 9:42So she apologized earlier this month for allegedly signaling to
- 9:45American in cells to assassinate Mr. Trump in a video she posted
- 9:49online last year. That's exactly what it comes
- 9:52across to. It's funny because anyway, Jack
- 9:54Field posted a 10 minute apology claiming the comments were she
- 9:58made were taken out of context. Like I said, you watch her video
- 10:01when the original video and you're like, there's no taking
- 10:04it out of context. Again, someone who doesn't
- 10:07understand the meaning of context, what it actually means.
- 10:11It's like they just come up all if we say this phrase here,
- 10:14everyone will go oh context. It's like, Oh yeah, if we say
- 10:17expert, oh expert, they know context.
- 10:21Again, things that we should stop saying if you don't know
- 10:23what the meanings are. Her herbology came after
- 10:26Australian musician boyfriend Adam Hyde, known professionally
- 10:30as Kelly the cock holiday was denied re entry into the US at
- 10:35the Canadian border midway through a tour.
- 10:37It's a bit of a shame because I'm not a fan of, you know,
- 10:40Peking Duck or Kelly Holder. You, you know, I'm not a big
- 10:43fan, but I don't mind his music. But you know, some people just
- 10:46need to, hey, if you're going to be a musician, be a musician and
- 10:50don't say anything else. And remember, if you're going to
- 10:54be a musician, you want to or you, you're going to be out
- 10:56there in the public spotlight and you want to do these things.
- 10:59You need a good and you're a man.
- 11:01You need a good woman behind you.
- 11:02If you're a woman, you need a good man behind you and you need
- 11:05someone who knows how to not talk and not say rubbish that's
- 11:09going to affect you because now oh Mr. Holiday is going to his
- 11:14career is affected by his numpty girlfriend.
- 11:16Holiday posted he was unsure why he was refused re entry despite
- 11:21having proper visa documentation.
- 11:25Here's the thing, we all know why.
- 11:27OK it was you refused entry because Chatfield.
- 11:32Chatfield can't just stop talking.
- 11:35She just, you know, and her and her little apology are taken out
- 11:39of context. But let's getting back to this
- 11:43other, this other thing, this other.
- 11:46Listen, I just really find it hard to comprehend how people
- 11:50like this Melanie Anderson, a tourism executive.
- 11:55Oh, you know what? What's the old the old proverb
- 11:59about, you know, thinking before you speak, run everything
- 12:04through the filter. You've got a brain, supposedly
- 12:07you think about it before you just blurt it out and talk about
- 12:12not being up to date, not really understanding geopolitics.
- 12:16I mean, you know, come on. And we we blame it all at lay it
- 12:22all at the feet of Trump. And then it's like, well, here's
- 12:24a good thing. Let's just advocate for his
- 12:27assassination. That that's intelligent.
- 12:30The lack of intelligence of someone in her position for
- 12:34saying something like that. Yeah, she should be ashamed.
- 12:39She she needs to really reflect and apologize properly, reflect
- 12:46on what she's saying and maybe just think, yeah, I just should
- 12:49not have said it. Not just the whole, well, I'm
- 12:51sorry if you were offended. Give a proper apology, you know,
- 12:56think about this, if that was someone saying it about you or
- 12:59about your husband or family or someone that you loved your
- 13:02father, how would you feel about that then You just shouldn't say
- 13:06things like that. But inability to think because
- 13:12the mind has been decayed and reprobate mind is running
- 13:18rampant throughout this nation. Unfortunately, it's here in QLD
- 13:24by the truckload. Anyway, this is all just my
- 13:26opinion and I'm J Fallon and thanks for listening to the
- 13:31Slippery Slope podcast. They just feel
