- 0:44Speaker 2: Ewalk Jr.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Hello, key Forge community, glad to be here.
- 0:49Speaker 4: It is time to do a thing. It is time
- 0:51Speaker 4: to see what really grinds your gears. It is time
- 0:54Speaker 4: to tell Gigi you've only fucked up like three fifths
- 0:59Speaker 4: of KeyForge.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Only three fasts.
- 1:01Speaker 5: Well, I mean one fifth was messed up by f
- 1:03Speaker 5: FG as we go through this, but yeah, oh so
- 1:05Speaker 5: two six maybe okay, we'll figure out the math later.
- 1:10Speaker 4: We'll pretend you're right. We ain't gonna figure out no
- 1:13Speaker 4: math later. I was gonna say we're gonna put it
- 1:16Speaker 4: on the Patreon, but she ruined that.
- 1:20Speaker 3: But first he.
- 1:21Speaker 5: Walks like like a school person or something. He should
- 1:24Speaker 5: know about fractions.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Yeah, cool person.
- 1:27Speaker 1: You say he's gonna make us draw and color.
- 1:30Speaker 2: He is what we call now teacher. Do I have
- 1:34Speaker 2: to get a scan tron? Yeah?
- 1:36Speaker 4: I don't know if they do those anymore? Do they
- 1:38Speaker 4: do scantron stiff? Are they just everything on their chromebooks?
- 1:44Speaker 3: Yeah? Most is on the chromebooks. Scantron's really old.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Way the way in the past, you're now old. Dras
- 1:51Speaker 4: car Welcome to.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Welcome still carries his number two pencil.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I carry my number two pencil wherever I go, wouldn't.
- 2:00Speaker 4: But we have our milar segment.
- 2:02Speaker 5: Key Forge is known for its pencil officionados.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Right, what at least one pencil aficionado. Yeah. I keep
- 2:10Speaker 2: a picture of G on my desk, just to remind me.
- 2:15Speaker 3: How's that one happen?
- 2:17Speaker 5: Like like zoom did real close on his ear where his.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Pencil is just just pencil, that's his hat. But we
- 2:25Speaker 4: have Yeah, he's blurrying it. Yeah, you can't see G.
- 2:28Speaker 4: But the pencil not stuff. But we have our titular segment.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Why I suck at key Forge?
- 2:36Speaker 2: Boys? Anybody suck a key Forge this week? M Bueler.
- 2:44Speaker 2: My problem is I don't know.
- 2:46Speaker 5: My problem was that UH had too much darn work trips,
- 2:51Speaker 5: so I didn't play nearly as much key Forge as.
- 2:54Speaker 2: As I would like. That that's not great.
- 2:57Speaker 4: As determined by the scroll of power. That is a
- 3:02Speaker 4: that is a valid reason to suck at KeyForge.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Oh yes, I I know why I sucked at key Forge. Okay,
- 3:09Speaker 1: I got sucked into the trap. Everybody else was opening
- 3:11Speaker 1: TOC deck, so I too, opened to C deck and
- 3:15Speaker 1: they were a damned disappointment. M.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Because you didn't get dis tokens. No you want, Actually
- 3:22Speaker 2: I did.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I got Katina Fiend and it didn't matter because it
- 3:26Speaker 1: made He also got Katina Feend and it didn't matter.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Yeah, we we We fought our Katina Fends in the
- 3:33Speaker 3: loser's bracket for no effect too. It was fun.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it was great. I mean everybody played talk there,
- 3:39Speaker 1: but then we played another one where he played single
- 3:42Speaker 1: deck and most people bought Talk except Morgan, who bought
- 3:46Speaker 1: amber Skies and she wrecked all of our talk faces. Nice. Yeah,
- 3:52Speaker 1: So I returned to that thought and when people were
- 3:55Speaker 1: opening talk stuff for for one of the weeklies. I'm
- 4:05Speaker 1: old Rammers, guys, and it worked for me, and I
- 4:08Speaker 1: wrecked that ninety five tok with my sixty eight as stacll. Yeah, no,
- 4:16Speaker 1: sixty Knad's gonna beat some high sas monster skilled out
- 4:19Speaker 1: matter in this game. Rocked them, rock that high sass garbage.
- 4:23Speaker 2: I still believe the game was thrown and not playing.
- 4:28Speaker 1: That was not throwing. That was superior drawing on my thing. Yeah,
- 4:33Speaker 1: it's really good when you draw for brob nark cards
- 4:36Speaker 1: and they're all creatures and then you draw your riot
- 4:39Speaker 1: and you're whatever ready your weakest creature and you got
- 4:42Speaker 1: your three power dude who exalts things when he fights,
- 4:45Speaker 1: and you're just like, yep, I'm gonna make twenty one
- 4:48Speaker 1: amber this turn. This was awesome.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Oh and the incensed Was this the case of draw
- 4:54Speaker 2: you gotta draw better?
- 4:55Speaker 3: Oh?
- 4:55Speaker 2: Yeah, because it draw best. Yeah that's but.
- 4:59Speaker 1: That's like SaaS doesn't matter in this game to some
- 5:02Speaker 1: extent because draw betters do happen. I mean SaaS matters,
- 5:05Speaker 1: they do deck quality, not SaaS. The deck quality matters,
- 5:10Speaker 1: but draw better is a huge thing in this game.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Iron RNG is is is a huge role in this game,
- 5:18Speaker 4: as we've seen.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Well, I love it.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Let's see where we go. We got op news with
- 5:24Speaker 4: Sheep Sheep, what's going on in the op world.
- 5:28Speaker 1: I saw something about Rochester next month.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Yep, I did too, she twit Yeah, uh yeah.
- 5:36Speaker 1: So there's Rochester next month, and then the one that
- 5:41Speaker 1: matters Roseville the one after that, because we'll all be there.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Yep, yep.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Get your tickets and get your tickets to the draz
- 5:49Speaker 4: Car Jazz cor Experience.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Yep. Store Championship accolades are rolling out. People are seeing
- 5:56Speaker 1: them show up. Lots of them have been running, a
- 5:59Speaker 1: few more are still happening. I hope everybody got to
- 6:02Speaker 1: go out and enjoy one of those, or eight of them,
- 6:05Speaker 1: as I may be doing.
- 6:07Speaker 5: I've got my UH Alliance Store Champs this Sunday.
- 6:13Speaker 2: I already won one of those nice the UH.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I can't win sealed, but I can win the other ones.
- 6:21Speaker 2: I mean, we're gonna, We're just gonna do it sealed.
- 6:23Speaker 2: This is the first year I have not won a
- 6:25Speaker 2: start championship. I won. I won.
- 6:30Speaker 1: When you show up.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Yeah, it's been a it's been a crazy week. I
- 6:34Speaker 4: had an inventory and then I had my I have
- 6:36Speaker 4: my bank audit this week, and uh, craziness, craziness bank audits,
- 6:43Speaker 4: who needs them clearly clearly my Well, you know, it's
- 6:48Speaker 4: always fun when you're like, hey, it's uh, it's an audit,
- 6:52Speaker 4: and then there and then they're there for like five
- 6:54Speaker 4: days and then they.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Go yeah, you're good, and then they sleep. That woman.
- 7:01Speaker 5: It was just like sleep into the back room, like
- 7:03Speaker 5: they pulled yeah, no, they didn't find jack shit, Like
- 7:07Speaker 5: they're like, yeah, your paperwork looks well to be in order.
- 7:10Speaker 4: I don't do guns, and I guess that's where a
- 7:12Speaker 4: lot of people, uh, a lot of people screw up
- 7:16Speaker 4: is in guns. So I don't do guns. So it's
- 7:21Speaker 4: very easy to not screw up when you don't do guns,
- 7:25Speaker 4: because the at they're crazy, they're crazy mother truckers. So
- 7:32Speaker 4: ooky audits or places where it's like you almost want
- 7:35Speaker 4: like just like a relatively benign finding.
- 7:38Speaker 5: So they could be like we found a thing, and
- 7:40Speaker 5: you could be like it's not that bad, and then
- 7:42Speaker 5: everybody parts their separate ways feel like okay.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean they go through your your old paperwork
- 7:48Speaker 4: which we have to hold on to for like X
- 7:50Speaker 4: amount of years and since my store hasn't even been
- 7:54Speaker 4: open for that amount of years. I just have all
- 7:56Speaker 4: of my paperwork that I've ever had, and you're like,
- 7:58Speaker 4: here you go, and then then they go through some
- 8:02Speaker 4: of your accounts, make sure money was aoka, and then
- 8:08Speaker 4: they're like, oh, yep, you've done this, and you've done this,
- 8:10Speaker 4: and you've had regular inventories, and then they can match
- 8:13Speaker 4: things up and they're still not done, but they have
- 8:17Speaker 4: found they have found nothing to date.
- 8:20Speaker 2: They haven't found the bodies yet.
- 8:21Speaker 4: They haven't found the bodies. No, that's not funny because
- 8:25Speaker 4: in my neck of the woods they might find bodies.
- 8:27Speaker 4: But anyway, what do we got next? We also got
- 8:31Speaker 4: final refrain going on, so Top eight are happening this week.
- 8:36Speaker 4: You can see me probably get crushed, and by probably
- 8:39Speaker 4: I mean like ninety eight point seven percent get crushed.
- 8:43Speaker 1: You sir, could draw better?
- 8:45Speaker 4: Yes, If I draw better and I get Magic Christmas
- 8:49Speaker 4: Land twice in three games, I definitely could will celebrate.
- 8:55Speaker 4: We will celebrate. It is pretty awesome that you mostly
- 8:59Speaker 4: just shouple up emojis, but we'll cell feel great, Like, yeah,
- 9:04Speaker 4: the rest of us scrubs didn't, that's right, they wouldn't
- 9:07Speaker 4: even let me play.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Did you did you ask or were You're like, no,
- 9:11Speaker 2: I can't play because no, they didn't invite me. I
- 9:14Speaker 2: was gonna ask. I was gonna that.
- 9:16Speaker 4: I figured it was just like, oh, yeah, I'm gonna
- 9:19Speaker 4: be on business for like three weeks, so well they're
- 9:22Speaker 4: that too.
- 9:23Speaker 5: Just the timing was very poor for me. So ye,
- 9:27Speaker 5: Actually it was kind of cool because I made that
- 9:30Speaker 5: off handed comment and in this cast that I was like, oh,
- 9:34Speaker 5: maybe I should stream or something, and then I had
- 9:36Speaker 5: multiplely people Piggy be like, hey, you should come stream
- 9:38Speaker 5: with us. So, uh, finally, when it was back from
- 9:42Speaker 5: my work trip, I did the the week to recap,
- 9:46Speaker 5: which was pretty fun, and uh, Ryan's like, this isn't
- 9:51Speaker 5: gonna be that long, probably, but then he forgot and
- 9:53Speaker 5: then he forgot that that dras Car is a talker.
- 9:56Speaker 5: Saw Yeah, that's right, that's right. I'm a blabberbouth.
- 10:01Speaker 4: But I did win my Week two matchup against JDG.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Thank you to everyone who voted for me over in
- 10:08Speaker 4: the final refrain, all nine of you.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Thank you. Hey, you're moving up with this world votes
- 10:14Speaker 2: you have this time two.
- 10:18Speaker 4: I hope zero because if in that case, the rest
- 10:21Speaker 4: of those are AoE apologists who think I actually stand
- 10:24Speaker 4: in prayer.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Uh no, you've got twelve votes this time.
- 10:29Speaker 4: Oh my goodness, ah, oh my goodness. People have not
- 10:34Speaker 4: seen that deck. It is dumb. It is dumb. I
- 10:37Speaker 4: tested it with Pete. It's it's rough. It is a
- 10:43Speaker 4: rough rough. You ever go up against the deck that
- 10:46Speaker 4: explicitly shuts down everything you want to do?
- 10:51Speaker 2: That's this week's can happen?
- 10:54Speaker 1: Maybe maybe you should offer to buy him lots of
- 10:57Speaker 1: drinks before you guys start playing.
- 10:59Speaker 2: At seven in the more.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Well, actually I don't know he I think he's Germany.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Yeah right, yeah, so I don't know what time it
- 11:07Speaker 4: will be there, but it'll be seven am here or
- 11:12Speaker 4: eight am.
- 11:12Speaker 1: It'll be like eight or nine something.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Yeah, give him drunk.
- 11:18Speaker 4: Yeah, that's one way of doing it. I might think
- 11:21Speaker 4: it's I think it's it's a good strategy. It might
- 11:23Speaker 4: be my only out because, like I said, you.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Could you could mail him some some brownies with some
- 11:28Speaker 5: laxative in it.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Go to time every game.
- 11:35Speaker 4: Yeah, they might make it there by Sunday if I
- 11:37Speaker 4: mail him to No, they won't. They want too late
- 11:41Speaker 4: for that, too late for them. Oh sorry, man, It
- 11:44Speaker 4: was a good idea, just purely. According to the numbers,
- 11:48Speaker 4: there is a twenty two chance in terms of votes.
- 11:52Speaker 4: You got twenty two percent of the votes. So we're
- 11:53Speaker 4: gonna say twenty two percent chance Corey of the voters
- 11:56Speaker 4: that you're you're gonna win.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Sounds about right.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean that's more chance than I had last week.
- 12:02Speaker 4: You got this, I mean like I won last time.
- 12:05Speaker 4: I did last week, but I have I had nine
- 12:08Speaker 4: votes against Jdg's forty six.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Ah oh, but it's not popular with the international crowd.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 12:21Speaker 4: I don't know who's all voting in this thing. I mean,
- 12:23Speaker 4: it's all the people you puss off, that's the problem. Okay,
- 12:26Speaker 4: that's okay. How for you, it's okay?
- 12:31Speaker 2: Did you vote? You're not? Are you even in the
- 12:32Speaker 2: server anymore?
- 12:34Speaker 1: No? Yeah, I left the server. I got salty.
- 12:41Speaker 4: I just want to say there's one person I would
- 12:44Speaker 4: like to give a special shout out to.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Uh fuck you, uh.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Whoa whoa whoa.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll gladly give my dollar for this one. What
- 12:54Speaker 2: does he go by? Now? I gotta I got at Astron?
- 13:01Speaker 2: What our bud? What pace he got there? Oh?
- 13:05Speaker 4: Astron had some words and said he didn't think that
- 13:08Speaker 4: I was going to be able to figure out how
- 13:10Speaker 4: that deck ran. And I just wasn't good enough to
- 13:14Speaker 4: understand the deck. And well you showed him and I
- 13:18Speaker 4: lost Game one. I did, and I was like, Oh,
- 13:21Speaker 4: that's what you want to do, that's cool, and then
- 13:25Speaker 4: promptly switched how I played game two in game three
- 13:30Speaker 4: and then won both those games. Hell yeah, so sucking Astron.
- 13:39Speaker 4: I have to say some of us made it to
- 13:43Speaker 4: the Elite eight. Some of us did it. It's all right.
- 13:47Speaker 2: I did not. I did not. Yeah, yeah, you want
- 13:50Speaker 2: to know who else did it? Astron?
- 13:54Speaker 1: He made it further than I did.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Well, he took he took me out, So then he's
- 14:00Speaker 3: a good player.
- 14:04Speaker 1: You gotta start shipped with somebody otherwise his day just
- 14:07Speaker 1: isn't right.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Wow, that's true. Yeah, who am I going to mess with?
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 14:13Speaker 2: Well, I have a feel like I've been a messing.
- 14:15Speaker 4: With a lot of people, because today we're going over
- 14:17Speaker 4: cards that really grind my gears. What is a card
- 14:22Speaker 4: that grinds your gears? Well, that could be a card
- 14:24Speaker 4: that just pisss you off. Don't understand it? Extremely over
- 14:30Speaker 4: powerful and redundant, stupid, card that you just lose to
- 14:35Speaker 4: a card that makes your day just suck.
- 14:40Speaker 5: Any card that makes what could be happy is a
- 14:43Speaker 5: good candidate.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that is probably true. It is also good that,
- 14:49Speaker 1: you know, Keith were just played by a bunch of
- 14:53Speaker 1: older people because grind my gears. I don't the new
- 14:57Speaker 1: kids don't even understand it.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's still around. It's still a meme.
- 15:02Speaker 2: That's that happens from time to time.
- 15:05Speaker 1: They don't understand it all right, year.
- 15:10Speaker 4: So we're going we're going over cards that are skibby
- 15:14Speaker 4: toilet no cap.
- 15:17Speaker 2: There you go.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Now, everybody's that.
- 15:18Speaker 2: I get everybody?
- 15:19Speaker 3: Now?
- 15:19Speaker 2: Did I cover the whole all of it?
- 15:22Speaker 3: Sure?
- 15:23Speaker 4: I feel like I did so. I mean I can,
- 15:26Speaker 4: I can talk. Uh, I don't know what they call
- 15:29Speaker 4: those kids? What are these kids called millennials? No, I'm
- 15:32Speaker 4: a millennial. What the what is the generator?
- 15:34Speaker 2: A millennial? Dude? What is this new generation of children? Uh?
- 15:40Speaker 5: Well, I think they got only way to Z so
- 15:43Speaker 5: just like Excel. Now it's a a oh aa okay,
- 15:46Speaker 5: so this is this is Are they z ab now?
- 15:49Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm not sure, but I can. I can.
- 15:54Speaker 4: I can talk today to today's youth, you know, and
- 15:57Speaker 4: you just let me know if scibby Toilet's too cringe
- 15:59Speaker 4: a right, and then we'll what I think I just
- 16:06Speaker 4: gave JR an aneurysm sligh Wookie. Anyways, I would like
- 16:17Speaker 4: to go first in cards that really grind my gears. Now,
- 16:23Speaker 4: this is gonna be maybe a controversial take, as all
- 16:26Speaker 4: of Wookie's takes are red line rotation. What is a
- 16:34Speaker 4: card that is just too much? That was fine when
- 16:38Speaker 4: it was in a dog shit set, didn't bother anybody,
- 16:42Speaker 4: but then they put it in talk so red line rotation.
- 16:46Speaker 4: You get an umber pip every time you play it.
- 16:49Speaker 4: And I'll explain my thoughts here real quick, drav square,
- 16:52Speaker 4: because I knew a lot of people were gonna go,
- 16:54Speaker 4: what that's crazy? Get an umber pip every time you
- 16:57Speaker 4: play it. Play if your opponent has seven no more embers,
- 17:00Speaker 4: steal half rounding down. So basically this card reads steal
- 17:06Speaker 4: three Mber and you get an ember pit. Now here
- 17:11Speaker 4: comes the boomer in me. Back in my day, steal
- 17:14Speaker 4: three Emra was an Alpha and alpha and omega and
- 17:18Speaker 4: it was considered a bad It was considered a bad card,
- 17:21Speaker 4: and it had no Ember pip. But wait, this could
- 17:27Speaker 4: steal more than three. This could steal a key, This
- 17:30Speaker 4: could steal two maybe three keys.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I could steal one hundred.
- 17:35Speaker 2: It doesn't stop there, and it's not Alpha or Omega
- 17:40Speaker 2: and is.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Not limited one, correct, like bait and Switch was limited one.
- 17:45Speaker 4: So my reasoning thank you for bringing up bait and switch.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Bayton switch somehow too powerful. You had to fully play
- 17:55Speaker 4: on your turn to make sure your opponent didn't forge,
- 18:00Speaker 4: and you had to forge your key to steal four umber.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Now it just comes printed on a card. But bait
- 18:07Speaker 4: and switch too good.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Too confusing, It's got too many words on it. Red
- 18:14Speaker 1: lines easier.
- 18:16Speaker 2: So are TMTP. What's your feeling on that?
- 18:20Speaker 4: Lookie, TMTP doesn't stop the key, it takes is this
- 18:23Speaker 4: will stop the key basically puts you in a position
- 18:27Speaker 4: to forge next turn more than likely. Basically you need
- 18:30Speaker 4: two mber now at this point to forge, right, So
- 18:33Speaker 4: this stops the key, puts you in forging range, and
- 18:38Speaker 4: gives you an umber PIP. So TMTP was at least
- 18:42Speaker 4: you needed two cards to make it work, right, You
- 18:45Speaker 4: needed to the TMTP, plus you needed something else to
- 18:49Speaker 4: stop them from forging. Yeah, and you only took them
- 18:56Speaker 4: down to six.
- 18:57Speaker 2: It can be pretty devastating.
- 19:00Speaker 1: This is the only card hit can be that really
- 19:04Speaker 1: makes Skibbity Born worth playing. Right this and against the
- 19:11Speaker 1: rest of that. I mean, occasionally there's some flight and
- 19:15Speaker 1: ready stuff with the Tempest that's kind of okay, but man,
- 19:21Speaker 1: and on a tiny set like Talk, you can get
- 19:25Speaker 1: multiples of these.
- 19:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean we typically are seeing too. I did
- 19:29Speaker 3: have Redline on my list as well, and for the
- 19:32Speaker 3: reason I just don't think that Redline needed to have
- 19:34Speaker 3: the amber pip printed on the card. I think the
- 19:37Speaker 3: card by itself is actually a good design, but those
- 19:41Speaker 3: design no, no, no, I disagree. I think this is
- 19:44Speaker 3: a good design because it goes back to steel shadow.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Steel was so powerful and I like to see this,
- 19:49Speaker 3: especially in Skyborne. We're outside of against all flags. There
- 19:53Speaker 3: isn't a ton that I want to be able to see.
- 19:55Speaker 3: So I like the steel in Skyborne. I think it
- 19:57Speaker 3: brings some flavor. I think without it, it's me. I
- 20:00Speaker 3: just don't think that you need to have an amber pick.
- 20:02Speaker 1: It's something like they're like, well, just take what Shadows
- 20:05Speaker 1: is good at and make it better over here. Not
- 20:08Speaker 1: as often, there's not as many cards that do it.
- 20:10Speaker 1: But when we are going to put one over here,
- 20:12Speaker 1: it's going to be damned better.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:14Speaker 3: But I mean, if you look at the rest of
- 20:16Speaker 3: the house, if you don't get redline rotation against all flags.
- 20:20Speaker 1: I mean, but their creatures are right on par with
- 20:23Speaker 1: most Shadows creatures. You don't want them. Yeah, that's how
- 20:27Speaker 1: Shadows creatures were too, you didn't want them. It's all
- 20:29Speaker 1: about the actions. I mean in a lot of ways,
- 20:32Speaker 1: what makes what makes sky Born good When they're good,
- 20:39Speaker 1: it's like what made Shadows good. It means you had
- 20:42Speaker 1: creature control cards and steal and none of the rest
- 20:44Speaker 1: of the junk they put in there. Like those those
- 20:48Speaker 1: cards are what Skyborn pretty good. Shadow Spot.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Are fine good right.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Now, Chin didn't know Urchin is trash these days?
- 21:03Speaker 2: Well these days Steel, but.
- 21:06Speaker 1: That's the days we're playing in.
- 21:07Speaker 5: Well, I don't know if I would say it's trash.
- 21:11Speaker 5: It's just not as good as it was because of
- 21:13Speaker 5: the general power.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Like it's been improved on three times, right.
- 21:18Speaker 4: You can steal Steel one just doesn't have the same
- 21:21Speaker 4: oof that it did back in the day.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, they made they made rads. Even Bownizing
- 21:28Speaker 1: is potentially better. Yeah, yeah, no, anyways, so yeah, all right,
- 21:38Speaker 1: Wookie's cranky. He's just cranky because because he still doesn't
- 21:42Speaker 1: have his bait and switch back, which I agree is
- 21:44Speaker 1: probably on irratable. Now they could take that away, and.
- 21:48Speaker 4: It's one set. It's in one set, one set that
- 21:52Speaker 4: nobody could buy anymore. Just give me what I want.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I got it for sale.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Well shouting in a louder, does that mean that you
- 22:01Speaker 3: should get that?
- 22:02Speaker 2: Just so you're aware? But that's how it works. Yeah,
- 22:04Speaker 2: I thought, well that.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Is how society believes, but this is not it. You know,
- 22:08Speaker 3: regular humans. We can talk it through.
- 22:10Speaker 2: And then talking. Yeah all right, but anyway, who we
- 22:15Speaker 2: got next? E wok? What what? What is one card
- 22:18Speaker 2: that really grinds your gears?
- 22:21Speaker 3: So there again, there are many different reasons for grinding
- 22:26Speaker 3: of gears. I actually had quite a few that we're
- 22:29Speaker 3: on here. The card that gets a bit of love. Yes,
- 22:37Speaker 3: I I'm gonna go ahead and I'm gonna target our
- 22:42Speaker 3: geystoids in here somewhere. I just at the common slots,
- 22:50Speaker 3: providing an amber pip the play effect. If you are haunted,
- 22:54Speaker 3: archive two cards from your discard pile. Otherwise, discard the
- 22:57Speaker 3: top five one I'm either getting to haunt it, which
- 22:59Speaker 3: these wants to do, or two I'm going out and archiving,
- 23:02Speaker 3: and frankly, when it's in house it is just cycled
- 23:05Speaker 3: over and over and over again. Well we're seeing someone
- 23:08Speaker 3: that you know four and a dack. What that's again
- 23:14Speaker 3: there's some issues there, but strongly disagree. Well it has
- 23:21Speaker 3: no impact, then you would be perfectly honestly, I think
- 23:24Speaker 3: this card in here somewhere would be just perfectly fine
- 23:26Speaker 3: if it had no amber pip and still said the
- 23:28Speaker 3: same thing that was there. If you're haunted archived two cards.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Otherwise it's still very good, very.
- 23:35Speaker 1: But you know, think about it, not dominant to maybe
- 23:44Speaker 1: even not.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Good enough.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Would g r B if they took like an amber
- 23:51Speaker 1: pip off of that and junk, just those two cards
- 23:54Speaker 1: and all of a sudden interesting be good. No, No,
- 24:03Speaker 1: because you wouldn't make amber. You'd be too slow and
- 24:05Speaker 1: you totally get washed by code of acts.
- 24:08Speaker 2: You think it'd be like an AOA logos sort of situation.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Yeah, you'd move a lot of cards, but you're not
- 24:13Speaker 1: making money.
- 24:15Speaker 3: So the thing about junk, because junk was on there
- 24:17Speaker 3: is junk has the two discard enhanced pips. Plus you're
- 24:20Speaker 3: going ahead in cycling by looking at three cards and
- 24:22Speaker 3: picking one of them to add into your hands. Well,
- 24:25Speaker 3: I think that.
- 24:26Speaker 4: Joe, Just for our listeners out there, junk does not
- 24:28Speaker 4: natively have two discard pips. You just discard too.
- 24:33Speaker 3: But it is providing two discard pips to your other
- 24:36Speaker 3: your other cards, which is important. If we looked when
- 24:38Speaker 3: we first saw MM or MM, you actually saw the
- 24:42Speaker 3: enhanced pips do carry value, and I think having played
- 24:45Speaker 3: multiple sets now, the enhanced pips do carry value. It's
- 24:48Speaker 3: interesting because I think people have devalued the pips as
- 24:51Speaker 3: we've kind of moved on, but.
- 24:54Speaker 1: It certainly certain ones have lost value.
- 24:58Speaker 3: But even here your statement of junk and in here
- 25:01Speaker 3: somewhere going ahead and removing the amber pip, I think
- 25:04Speaker 3: one of them needed to have the amber pip. One
- 25:06Speaker 3: of them needed to have it. But in common slot
- 25:09Speaker 3: is where it really hurts.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I'm saying. I just think about how all the decks
- 25:15Speaker 1: that we have played, and it's probably because they got
- 25:17Speaker 1: junks in in heres, but if they didn't have the
- 25:19Speaker 1: amber pips, like, how much that would slow those decks down?
- 25:26Speaker 3: Yeah, makes some other decks viable and other strategy.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Well, I mean that's that's one thing to say, is
- 25:31Speaker 1: that it makes other decks viable, but it like would
- 25:35Speaker 1: turn it into another set of like who the hell
- 25:37Speaker 1: cares because they ain't good enough?
- 25:39Speaker 2: Yeah, so I disagree, guys.
- 25:43Speaker 5: Like so, I have five different categories that I wrote
- 25:45Speaker 5: down of reasons why cards will grind my gears. But
- 25:50Speaker 5: a card being good is not one of those categories.
- 25:54Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, no are good. No.
- 25:57Speaker 3: One of one of those categories that will had specified
- 26:00Speaker 3: ahead of time is cards that do not need to
- 26:04Speaker 3: have the amber PIP. And I stand behind that. It's
- 26:06Speaker 3: not a matter of these cards are good. These cards
- 26:08Speaker 3: are good. But I'm telling you these cards are good
- 26:10Speaker 3: either way, whether they have the amber pip or not.
- 26:12Speaker 3: And I think that they become overvalued, and they become
- 26:17Speaker 3: overvalued because they're in the common slot and they have
- 26:21Speaker 3: that pip. If you take the pip off, I think
- 26:22Speaker 3: that's where we go ahead and get a chance to
- 26:24Speaker 3: be able to see a little bit different.
- 26:26Speaker 2: I see.
- 26:26Speaker 5: I don't think having an amber pip or not on
- 26:29Speaker 5: a card that is or having an amber on a
- 26:32Speaker 5: card that is good, is like reason to get pissed
- 26:35Speaker 5: in my opinion, now.
- 26:36Speaker 1: It's on these particular cards. It's because of the ridiculous
- 26:40Speaker 1: strong recursion. So you get to just it's doing exactly
- 26:43Speaker 1: what Aria does right, or one of the things Aria
- 26:46Speaker 1: can do. And I'm not here saying we should get
- 26:50Speaker 1: rid of that. I was just saying, think about how
- 26:53Speaker 1: much value is in the set because these pips are there,
- 26:56Speaker 1: and I think I don't. I don't think you guys
- 26:59Speaker 1: are consider water. How much worse it would be if
- 27:02Speaker 1: they didn't have the pits like it would be. I
- 27:06Speaker 1: think it would be disappointing.
- 27:09Speaker 5: So so I think, yes, I agree, right, you don't
- 27:12Speaker 5: want stuff that's bad. I think the problematic stuff is
- 27:16Speaker 5: not this thing was good at it and now it's over.
- 27:20Speaker 5: It's the this thing will now take me a really
- 27:24Speaker 5: long time to execute. You just have to stare at
- 27:27Speaker 5: me while I do a bunch of stuff and win that.
- 27:30Speaker 5: That's the problem.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Not just different about watching you play Aria, where you're
- 27:35Speaker 3: cycling your junkin in here somewhere's over and over and
- 27:37Speaker 3: over again. It's broke into multiple turns where I don't
- 27:42Speaker 3: have a way to impact it, which is why they
- 27:43Speaker 3: brought in amber skies to go ahead and have you
- 27:46Speaker 3: discard your archives? They needed an archive hate earlier. The
- 27:52Speaker 3: short answer is when you were cycling at that such
- 27:54Speaker 3: high rates and for efficiency both an amber and card
- 27:58Speaker 3: just push cards return is definitely something that's there, and
- 28:02Speaker 3: this is granting that in space.
- 28:05Speaker 5: Well, so I'm positing that it is not so much
- 28:10Speaker 5: that I'm doing a good thing with the archives or
- 28:12Speaker 5: I've gotten amazing bord. You can't do something you can't
- 28:14Speaker 5: do very much about whatever it's it's more about it
- 28:18Speaker 5: took me a really long time to do the thing
- 28:21Speaker 5: that was good. That I think is the thing that
- 28:23Speaker 5: is more concerning. If I just quickly win or you
- 28:26Speaker 5: quickly win, like hey we can play again, right, or
- 28:29Speaker 5: we move on right? If it's like you have to
- 28:31Speaker 5: watch me for Rule of six on seven different cards,
- 28:33Speaker 5: Oh no, that's daz Corps.
- 28:35Speaker 1: What people want are forty five minute games of key
- 28:38Speaker 1: Forge that you make you wish you hadn't spent that time.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I'll less you them, and then they think it's the
- 28:44Speaker 1: greatest thing in the world. I'm with you, man, like,
- 28:47Speaker 1: let people keep it fast, turn a couple extra games
- 28:50Speaker 1: and it'll be fine.
- 28:51Speaker 5: Yeah, so he likes a close fight. I I don't disagree.
- 28:59Speaker 5: I'm just I'm just saying that, like there's just.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Bring a better deck. No, it is true though GR
- 29:12Speaker 1: has for certain like murdered the value of most everything
- 29:17Speaker 1: else right, like the broken amber sky stuff might be competing.
- 29:22Speaker 1: We'll see how that goes down as time goes on.
- 29:26Speaker 1: But like GR has definitely like just made everything pre
- 29:30Speaker 1: GR damn near pointless. There's definitely some truth for sure
- 29:36Speaker 1: everything that that, yes, basically everything. There are a handful
- 29:42Speaker 1: of decks that can still pull out some wins, but
- 29:46Speaker 1: even that's getting fewer and fewer as the better GR
- 29:50Speaker 1: decks are consistently showing up to events.
- 29:54Speaker 2: You mean, as people buy more GR.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Well, and yeah, and and then things like bandola are
- 30:00Speaker 1: getting passed around or past her asses getting passed around.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Aria is getting passed around, like the strongest stuff of
- 30:08Speaker 1: that set is there, which has happened with every set,
- 30:11Speaker 1: Like this isn't anything new, But as the cream of
- 30:14Speaker 1: that crop is found and consistently brought around, it is
- 30:18Speaker 1: smashing down on what was the cream of the crop
- 30:21Speaker 1: from before. It does not compete. All right, let's pick,
- 30:26Speaker 1: let's pick a dog card. We're here to grind some cards. Not.
- 30:30Speaker 3: I'm glad Again if it creates discussion, I think that
- 30:33Speaker 3: that's where they're.
- 30:34Speaker 4: But I don't think that's a problem. I just I
- 30:37Speaker 4: again I said it before.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Really you're the guy who gets all salty half the
- 30:41Speaker 1: time because you don't have a deck that can compete.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Well, now I just borrow everyone else's. I mean it strategy.
- 30:50Speaker 4: I mean it's but again now I do I still
- 30:55Speaker 4: have a decks that can compete. No, but like if
- 30:58Speaker 4: if I were out, I still have decks that like
- 31:01Speaker 4: I'm like, okay, I could bring these and feel okay, right.
- 31:06Speaker 4: I think it's great for new players, and it needed
- 31:08Speaker 4: to happen just for the fact of new players, Like
- 31:11Speaker 4: if you want to get new players into this game,
- 31:14Speaker 4: like before, we always talked about it, and it's just
- 31:17Speaker 4: it's it's tough to get new players.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Well, I think most of us that we had very
- 31:22Speaker 1: similar discussions when Woe was out, that you could buy
- 31:25Speaker 1: Woe and probably find something competitive.
- 31:27Speaker 4: Some of us even not experience any of that. But god, continue,
- 31:32Speaker 4: well you.
- 31:33Speaker 3: Didn't hardly play then, that's who I think that.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Wasn't quite as crazy as the Cream of g R. Yes,
- 31:45Speaker 1: and that's you know, it's one of the things is
- 31:47Speaker 1: like that you know when when the cream gets hired
- 31:50Speaker 1: or when when the average deck gets hired, just like
- 31:52Speaker 1: the average opening gets hired. That means the quality the
- 31:56Speaker 1: very top end stuff takes it equal step up generally,
- 32:00Speaker 1: and it's yeah, it's the the very top end is
- 32:04Speaker 1: getting it's getting way out there.
- 32:10Speaker 2: All right, sheep.
- 32:11Speaker 1: So you're gonna go next, Yeah, because direction I'm not
- 32:16Speaker 1: gonna talk about good stuff. I'm gonna talk about actively
- 32:19Speaker 1: horrible stuff.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Actually, also cards DRez I also had this as one
- 32:24Speaker 3: of my categories. So I'm curious to see what did
- 32:27Speaker 3: you roll with my friend.
- 32:28Speaker 5: Yeah, so I picked one that came up, I don't
- 32:32Speaker 5: know the other day because I was looking at a
- 32:34Speaker 5: deck and I was like, oh, this seems pretty interesting,
- 32:37Speaker 5: pretty cool, and it like had a kind of a
- 32:40Speaker 5: reliance on artifacts, and then I saw it had a
- 32:44Speaker 5: how I say, this gig Ruco sapper in it, and
- 32:49Speaker 5: instantly I was like, this deck is unplayable because it's
- 32:54Speaker 5: so so to remind everybody, it's a three power three
- 32:58Speaker 5: armor Equodon Creature soldier get Ruka. Play after fight, take
- 33:03Speaker 5: control of an enemy artifact, give your opponent control of
- 33:07Speaker 5: get a Rukus Sapper. So if you play it, then
- 33:11Speaker 5: your opponent can take your strong artifacts, which if you're
- 33:16Speaker 5: playing a strong artifact deck, you don't want that, so
- 33:19Speaker 5: you don't want to play it. Okay, So there's plenty
- 33:21Speaker 5: of cards that suck that you just discard. But wait,
- 33:25Speaker 5: there's a scrap effect destroy a friendly artifact period if
- 33:29Speaker 5: you do destroy an enemy artifact. So wait, I can't
- 33:33Speaker 5: play it and I can't discard it. I just just
- 33:37Speaker 5: staste in my hand, and I that I lose the game, Like,
- 33:39Speaker 5: what is this card? This is terrible?
- 33:42Speaker 2: That's what that.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Card is, utter trash.
- 33:46Speaker 2: You're hoping for You're hoping for a clipped wings.
- 33:48Speaker 3: The other Aquadan card that fit with this, in my
- 33:52Speaker 3: opinion is Tutor Bin Brylo. I mean that is perfect
- 33:55Speaker 3: real love love child. There, get Ruka or power zero
- 33:59Speaker 3: armor plate card up to three cards. Your opponent draws
- 34:01Speaker 3: a card. Wait, that's my opponent drawing a card. Not
- 34:05Speaker 3: not great, and then scrap. Each player draws a card. Wait,
- 34:08Speaker 3: my opponent's still drawing a card.
- 34:10Speaker 1: So.
- 34:12Speaker 3: I have outside, like outside of their turn when they
- 34:16Speaker 3: really want it to control things. So yeah, I replace that.
- 34:19Speaker 2: It's it's I.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Hate that card as well, although there has truthfully been
- 34:25Speaker 1: places where having one and forcing somebody to flip is
- 34:30Speaker 1: actually very viable against what some of this gr garbage.
- 34:33Speaker 2: No very rare, very rare, So it's.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Not very rare. It's been more often than i'd be, Like,
- 34:40Speaker 1: if I could flip you, then you couldn't. You wouldn't
- 34:43Speaker 1: be haunted, So you can't use your stupid trawler again.
- 34:47Speaker 3: If Sheep has the ability to flip you, he will
- 34:50Speaker 3: your night. You drop on your head. I had another
- 34:56Speaker 3: card in this sweet sweet pool dass score totally going
- 35:00Speaker 3: over shape. Here we sand that's right because it was
- 35:02Speaker 3: seen and sealed two weeks ago. One power Thief Beast
- 35:06Speaker 3: Shadows Deploy Elusive. Wait, the one power was too much.
- 35:11Speaker 3: We're gonna give it Elusive. If we sand is on
- 35:13Speaker 3: a FLNK destroy it. Definitely too powerful. Anytime it's on
- 35:17Speaker 3: the edge, we just have to heal the creature next
- 35:19Speaker 3: to it and then boom, it's gonna die. So you
- 35:21Speaker 3: can't play it by itself and after a player forges
- 35:25Speaker 3: a key, because that's happening all the time. Game two Amber,
- 35:29Speaker 3: Wow to Amber, all of the stipulations like and so
- 35:33Speaker 3: I actually had a whole bunch of cards.
- 35:35Speaker 2: That that's what.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Happened, is that as velpert like, there's just too many
- 35:39Speaker 3: stipulations on some of these cards.
- 35:41Speaker 1: There's there's the better version of this card where it's like,
- 35:43Speaker 1: after your opponent forges a key, take control of one
- 35:46Speaker 1: of their creatures. Right, that card exists, and that card
- 35:51Speaker 1: wasn't good and it's a hell of a lot better
- 35:52Speaker 1: than this car.
- 35:56Speaker 5: You know what I forgot about this card? You're right,
- 35:58Speaker 5: we almost see a new category. It's called like the
- 36:02Speaker 5: t's because like you read the cards, you're like, well,
- 36:05Speaker 5: it's like, oh, if there's something maybe interesting here, these
- 36:08Speaker 5: start playing it through your mind and it's like.
- 36:11Speaker 2: When will this ever trigger ever? And the answer is never.
- 36:16Speaker 4: Well, there's plenty of cards and key forge that just
- 36:18Speaker 4: like they do something that has no value whatsoever.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean there's value if you can do this.
- 36:26Speaker 3: It's just like, but that all the hoops that you
- 36:29Speaker 3: have to jump to or to amber. Honestly, if we're
- 36:33Speaker 3: looking at it, most of these cards that have a
- 36:35Speaker 3: printed amber pip on them provide you half of that
- 36:38Speaker 3: original piece right there. Like what's really interesting is that
- 36:42Speaker 3: amber breakdown per card is fascinating to me and what
- 36:46Speaker 3: cards can cycle. And I think that's why Geistoid as
- 36:48Speaker 3: a whole actually has quite a bit of power. But
- 36:51Speaker 3: seeing some of the older cards, they're just ough. They
- 36:54Speaker 3: don't generate amber, they're so slow, they're so weak. And yes,
- 36:59Speaker 3: we need some poor cards, I get that, but this
- 37:03Speaker 3: isn't poor. This is absolutely pathetic. This this is Burnett
- 37:06Speaker 3: toss it put in dumpster fire. Just don't don't see it.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that one was.
- 37:14Speaker 1: That one was unfortunate, like we said, needed to come
- 37:17Speaker 1: with like an on forge thing too, so you could
- 37:20Speaker 1: shut it multiple times and it would still be bad.
- 37:26Speaker 1: All right, do I get to do one?
- 37:27Speaker 2: Do it?
- 37:28Speaker 1: Okay, I'm going back to what is truthfully just bad
- 37:32Speaker 1: card design.
- 37:33Speaker 3: Who smiling was the take control?
- 37:36Speaker 1: Yes, and that is gold key imp This card just
- 37:43Speaker 1: I mean, it's it's in It's an AOA card.
- 37:45Speaker 2: It says.
- 37:48Speaker 1: While this creatures in play, players cannot forge their third
- 37:52Speaker 1: key something to that extent, right, you cannot. There was
- 37:56Speaker 1: one for each first key, second key, third key. Both
- 37:59Speaker 1: players can at forge. So this card, because it's a creature,
- 38:05Speaker 1: can be on the board. Both players can have enough
- 38:08Speaker 1: hamber to forge three keys, and it becomes this game
- 38:10Speaker 1: of I can't kill it because then you get to
- 38:12Speaker 1: forge first, and if no key sheets exist, nobody can
- 38:17Speaker 1: kill it without losing the game. So the game technically
- 38:21Speaker 1: like either never ends. So thankfully tournament play we have
- 38:24Speaker 1: time rules, but like, how was that trash ass garbage
- 38:30Speaker 1: not cotton play testing? Because like that card was that
- 38:33Speaker 1: we saw it for like one second, where like this
- 38:35Speaker 1: is going to lead to absolutely horrible game state stuff.
- 38:40Speaker 5: Yeah, you play at a sealed event and like you know,
- 38:44Speaker 5: you're playing against an inexperienced player and they play this
- 38:47Speaker 5: out and you're just like, uh, we're not like keeping
- 38:54Speaker 5: track of time, Like what do we even do now?
- 38:56Speaker 5: Like like and that they realize what they've done.
- 38:59Speaker 1: You shred it that card And it's the same. It's actually,
- 39:05Speaker 1: in my opinions, kind of the same thing with what
- 39:08Speaker 1: what heart of the Forest is?
- 39:10Speaker 2: No, don't you touch my heart of the forest.
- 39:13Speaker 1: It's it's this like sets up this uh huh game
- 39:17Speaker 1: doesn't win situation yep, ye know where it's like, well,
- 39:22Speaker 1: I can't gain the amber to forge my second key
- 39:24Speaker 1: because you'll forge your third key, So now like technically
- 39:28Speaker 1: you've lost the game, but that's not it it's just
- 39:31Speaker 1: it just sets up these like areas where you're not
- 39:36Speaker 1: playing the game, and then you get people like Wookie
- 39:39Speaker 1: who get out bent and like, well he's not progressing
- 39:41Speaker 1: the game states, so she he should be disqualified. And
- 39:43Speaker 1: he's like, there are no rules that say you must
- 39:46Speaker 1: progress game state, like you're just playing key forge.
- 39:50Speaker 3: Yeah. So with gold key imp being two power imp elusive,
- 39:54Speaker 3: players cannot forge their third key. I think having the
- 39:57Speaker 3: other imps where it was you skip your first and
- 39:59Speaker 3: second key, I'm fine with.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Those are fine, it's the it's the third key.
- 40:04Speaker 3: And that's where we just have to think through some
- 40:06Speaker 3: of these plays of like, uh, don't ever create that situation.
- 40:11Speaker 4: See, but it's in a set that nobody plays, so
- 40:14Speaker 4: does it even matter.
- 40:15Speaker 2: People play it?
- 40:21Speaker 1: You to talk about who's playing what. When you play
- 40:24Speaker 1: one game a.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Week, we play more than one game a week, thank you, sir.
- 40:28Speaker 1: If you averaged your number of games over the number
- 40:31Speaker 1: of weeks of the year, it might be one game
- 40:34Speaker 1: a week.
- 40:35Speaker 2: So what I sorry, I got other things to do
- 40:37Speaker 2: and then hang out on TCO all day.
- 40:40Speaker 1: You need to reprioritize, Well, I'll quit my job tomorrow, sir.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Those audit folks that you got things to do.
- 40:50Speaker 3: Mom and Dad's pause for a second. I think what
- 40:53Speaker 3: helps gold KEYMP is the linked rarity and kind of
- 40:56Speaker 3: how often it actually shows up. And so because it
- 40:58Speaker 3: shows up in a smaller amounts, I'm actually in a
- 41:03Speaker 3: better spot to see the first two I like, no,
- 41:06Speaker 3: but because of that, I think it makes it a
- 41:09Speaker 3: little better. I still I don't think that we should
- 41:11Speaker 3: have ever had a goal KEYMP where it's can't forge
- 41:13Speaker 3: their third key. I'm going to tell you when these
- 41:15Speaker 3: cars in a.
- 41:15Speaker 1: Car less common but still totally awful doesn't fix it.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it doesn't.
- 41:21Speaker 3: It doesn't.
- 41:22Speaker 2: This should be in zero zero zero.
- 41:26Speaker 3: We're all in agreement there, But I'm telling you, when
- 41:27Speaker 3: I start to see our cards showing up in that
- 41:30Speaker 3: common slot, that's where I really it really grinds me
- 41:34Speaker 3: gears when I can see that happening. So this a
- 41:37Speaker 3: little better, but it still hurts.
- 41:39Speaker 5: This card is yunk YEP and Heart of the Forest
- 41:44Speaker 5: I agree with as well, is in this category. Yes, yes,
- 41:48Speaker 5: I understand at nted, but I don't know so many
- 41:56Speaker 5: scenarios and sealed in normal in everything, but you have.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Even though that you've tried where it just can't do it,
- 42:07Speaker 1: but you just keep trying to force us.
- 42:08Speaker 2: To deal with the garbage.
- 42:11Speaker 1: No, so there's this like random thing where once I
- 42:14Speaker 1: land this on tame creature, the next turn I can
- 42:16Speaker 1: fight destroy my Heart and win. As like, yeah, but
- 42:19Speaker 1: I just could a creature And you're like, well, if
- 42:21Speaker 1: we play through these decks forty seven times, one of
- 42:25Speaker 1: these times it'll come out and I'll be able to
- 42:27Speaker 1: do it.
- 42:27Speaker 3: Okay, So what you're actually missing is I do have
- 42:30Speaker 3: a Heart deck that can go ahead and actually play
- 42:34Speaker 3: with the Kichi, but it's a very there's a very
- 42:36Speaker 3: select number of decks that will have the ability to
- 42:40Speaker 3: archive the ability to go ahead and do that. What
- 42:42Speaker 3: what you're missing here, though, is Heart of the Forest
- 42:45Speaker 3: by itself when it was released, in a way was
- 42:48Speaker 3: a bad timing because there were not enough cards to
- 42:53Speaker 3: capture and deal with basically pushing your opponent over. I
- 42:57Speaker 3: think once World's Collide came out, it really put a
- 43:00Speaker 3: big dent into into Heart of the Force because of
- 43:04Speaker 3: the ability to exalt in the ability to go ahead
- 43:07Speaker 3: and have amber that can be pushed onto your opponent.
- 43:09Speaker 3: And as soon as that happens, it's a whole other level.
- 43:12Speaker 3: I actually like Heart of the Forest now where people
- 43:14Speaker 3: can play it and there's a lot of options to
- 43:17Speaker 3: be able to get around it. I think that I
- 43:20Speaker 3: think the better card is where it's dealing with haunted
- 43:24Speaker 3: or not. And that was the modified version of Hard Card,
- 43:28Speaker 3: but with dark Heart, because you can control being haunted
- 43:33Speaker 3: or not haunted a little better. But there are still
- 43:35Speaker 3: there are still decks that can actually force you to
- 43:38Speaker 3: go ahead and be consistently haunted, and so I think
- 43:41Speaker 3: that is something to be aware of. You just don't
- 43:43Speaker 3: see the amount of decks, or you're.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Playing sealed and you play the card that auto haunts
- 43:48Speaker 1: you every turn, and then you're up on a place
- 43:50Speaker 1: dark Heart, and you go, this game is stupid. I'm
- 43:52Speaker 1: going home.
- 43:53Speaker 3: That is where you played the wrong card goodbye.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Yeah, now that that kind of shit is not actually
- 44:01Speaker 1: that healthy for the game where just a random interaction
- 44:04Speaker 1: just locks you out from being able to play the
- 44:06Speaker 1: game because.
- 44:08Speaker 2: It'll just never end.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, I got two more. Okay, Okay, well here's
- 44:21Speaker 1: my combination. It's three Sheets to the Wind and High
- 44:25Speaker 1: Street Churn.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:27Speaker 1: Okay, these are two cards with too many words on
- 44:31Speaker 1: them for too little effect. Yeah, yep, like they're they're
- 44:37Speaker 1: and these aren't the only two. These are just the
- 44:39Speaker 1: two because somebody Loca car had them both in a
- 44:42Speaker 1: deck the other day and he played them both on me,
- 44:46Speaker 1: and thankfully we're on TCO, so TCO took care of it.
- 44:50Speaker 1: But then it all ended and I'm like, yep, that
- 44:52Speaker 1: didn't mean anything, okay, and had we had to go
- 44:56Speaker 1: through it in life, and just like that's like these
- 45:03Speaker 1: cards where they have ten thousand words and then don't
- 45:06Speaker 1: make a significant impact. Most of the time, I find
- 45:12Speaker 1: I find they grind my gear like they just you know,
- 45:16Speaker 1: they don't They're not adding to the game. Like these
- 45:19Speaker 1: cards could have been good. They're not good. They could
- 45:22Speaker 1: have been bad. Well, they probably are. Do you a
- 45:28Speaker 1: bunch of work for nothing?
- 45:30Speaker 3: Do you like cards that have a lot of texts
- 45:33Speaker 3: but they have a really big upside in the game.
- 45:38Speaker 1: They need to do something I don't. I don't mind
- 45:41Speaker 1: gambling den that's got a bunch of words and is
- 45:43Speaker 1: sort of thing. I don't mind the discard a bunch
- 45:46Speaker 1: of cards from your deck and gain amber for shadows.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Thing that's thing's got a lot of words, but does
- 45:50Speaker 1: stuff like no I definitely don't mind that, but it
- 45:53Speaker 1: needs to. Like, it feels like they started with these
- 45:58Speaker 1: two cards High Street and three sheets, and they were
- 46:00Speaker 1: probably something good like market fluctuation, and then they went, oh,
- 46:06Speaker 1: they're too good too often. Then they like softened them
- 46:09Speaker 1: to the point where it's just like, let me flush
- 46:13Speaker 1: your hand for you a little bit. Okay, thanks, like
- 46:18Speaker 1: I wanted to get rid of those creatures I've been
- 46:20Speaker 1: avoiding playing for three turns. Anyways.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it helps your opponent just as often as it
- 46:26Speaker 2: hurts them.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Probably, Yeah, like it punk is one of those cards
- 46:31Speaker 1: where like sometimes it sometimes it crushes your opponent. Sometimes
- 46:35Speaker 1: your opponents like, huh, loser, I'm gonna win the game
- 46:37Speaker 1: because you punked.
- 46:38Speaker 3: Meh what if it only helps you? How do you
- 46:42Speaker 3: feel about long text? Then?
- 46:44Speaker 1: Sure? Well, I mean, you know, complexity this this game
- 46:50Speaker 1: is getting more and more complexity in it, to the
- 46:56Speaker 1: point where there are players that used to play this
- 47:00Speaker 1: game that are not as interested because the complexity has
- 47:04Speaker 1: gotten to the point where they're either it's hard or
- 47:08Speaker 1: they're not enjoying it. And it's work to keep up
- 47:10Speaker 1: with all of the stuff that's going on all the time,
- 47:15Speaker 1: and my opinion is on many of these cards, the
- 47:17Speaker 1: complexity that they added doesn't enhance the game game they
- 47:23Speaker 1: tracking Tide doesn't enhance the game. States tracking Haunted is
- 47:33Speaker 1: only good because they made the haunted this stuff good enough.
- 47:37Speaker 2: I say that the only reason the Tide's not worth
- 47:40Speaker 2: tracking is because.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's just another power.
- 47:44Speaker 4: Wasn't the power There's nothing powerful there to actually need
- 47:48Speaker 4: to track, Like, it's just like, am I haunted? Do
- 47:51Speaker 4: I do this mundane thing? And the answer more times
- 47:54Speaker 4: than not was nope, I don't do anything good, So
- 47:56Speaker 4: it's not worth my time to even track it. Where
- 47:59Speaker 4: it's haunted, it is worth tracking because yeah, they took
- 48:02Speaker 4: the time to make the cards that actually made you
- 48:04Speaker 4: hunted worth something.
- 48:06Speaker 3: It wasn't the correct power level is what we needed.
- 48:09Speaker 4: I mean, this is we just had a whole discussion
- 48:12Speaker 4: in this in this discord. I believe it was just
- 48:14Speaker 4: yesterday about like this game has a real problem with
- 48:19Speaker 4: like cards that have like upside versus their downside, right,
- 48:24Speaker 4: Like there's zero downside to ever playing a red Line.
- 48:28Speaker 4: There's zero downside to ever playing most of these cards
- 48:32Speaker 4: that like their upside doesn't quote you know, and then
- 48:36Speaker 4: but then there's cards that have a serious downside, like
- 48:39Speaker 4: Elpha Omega, and it's like, well, but the upside doesn't
- 48:42Speaker 4: match the downside.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Yeah, those cards were not balanced well either.
- 48:47Speaker 3: And I and I agree with that. I think that
- 48:49Speaker 3: there's a real discrepancy with what some cards are able
- 48:52Speaker 3: to do and other cards. You're just like, why why
- 48:55Speaker 3: are you giving me a tutor bin rylo here versus
- 48:57Speaker 3: a control of the week, Like these are plastically different,
- 49:01Speaker 3: and they're they're not equal in the power level. For me,
- 49:05Speaker 3: what I actually had in this category was Witch Queen,
- 49:09Speaker 3: so untamed four power leader human Witch. I actually think
- 49:13Speaker 3: the first part of the text is perfectly fine. But
- 49:15Speaker 3: it's like it's like someone gave a bloody Mary and
- 49:18Speaker 3: they just keep putting more on top and more.
- 49:23Speaker 2: But that's the best part of the bloody Barry. No no, no,
- 49:25Speaker 2: no no.
- 49:25Speaker 3: But this is it Like here, each other friendly witch
- 49:28Speaker 3: creature enters play ready perfect, I love it, while Witch
- 49:31Speaker 3: Queen is in the center. Okay, that's what we want
- 49:32Speaker 3: for all the leaders in the in the center, each
- 49:37Speaker 3: other friendly witch creature gains skirmish, elusive, and poison. Okay,
- 49:41Speaker 3: that's really good right there. But then we add this
- 49:44Speaker 3: like extra clause, and I'm like, why why did we
- 49:48Speaker 3: go here?
- 49:48Speaker 1: And best effect doesn't even require them being in the middle, correct.
- 49:53Speaker 3: But then it's like and destroyed return this creature to
- 49:56Speaker 3: its owner's hand. And so like that last bit, it
- 50:00Speaker 3: has such an impact with the ability to be able
- 50:02Speaker 3: to manipulate the cards. I think you just added way
- 50:08Speaker 3: too much text. The first bit was perfectly fine. Why
- 50:11Speaker 3: do we need to add destroyed effect in there? And again,
- 50:14Speaker 3: what's the ready destroyed? That?
- 50:15Speaker 2: Does it? Right? If?
- 50:17Speaker 3: Because I come in, come in ready and it is
- 50:21Speaker 3: it is a looping It comes in ready and then
- 50:23Speaker 3: I destroy it and then I get it back.
- 50:26Speaker 2: Yep, the loop. The loop takes so you can't just
- 50:30Speaker 2: fight Yeah, well excited, yeah, work.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Sure, Yeah that it's It's another one of those cards
- 50:40Speaker 1: where you feel like after you read it and you
- 50:43Speaker 1: see it and play, you're like, did they play test
- 50:45Speaker 1: this card? Like this card is this card is on
- 50:49Speaker 1: a power level that is.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Above so far.
- 50:56Speaker 1: From everything else. Like you look at every other leader
- 50:58Speaker 1: in the game, and even the previous good leaders are
- 51:05Speaker 1: one percent parful its covered matter what percent. But yeah,
- 51:08Speaker 1: like it's just like they're they're just on a totally.
- 51:12Speaker 1: This card is on a totally different power level, but
- 51:16Speaker 1: you still I mean, like, the truth is that you
- 51:19Speaker 1: don't actually see it that often because it's rare and
- 51:22Speaker 1: you often only get a couple of bad witches.
- 51:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and you need a combo, right, you need either
- 51:27Speaker 2: the King of Fan or you need the.
- 51:31Speaker 5: Blood in Blood Charted, or or you need the uh
- 51:36Speaker 5: Porcupine upgrade like you need. You do need something else
- 51:40Speaker 5: to make it work.
- 51:44Speaker 2: M all right, I'm gonna go on my next one. Yeah,
- 51:49Speaker 2: we got. This one still pisses me off because again
- 51:52Speaker 2: all the reasons I named before against all flags, this
- 51:59Speaker 2: card needed an alpha if it was gonna be because
- 52:01Speaker 2: basically this card reads gain a number, pip steal.
- 52:05Speaker 3: Two three bar.
- 52:07Speaker 4: So again, do you just gain half a key from
- 52:12Speaker 4: a very little setup?
- 52:14Speaker 2: I am.
- 52:15Speaker 1: I'm really surprised that it's I'm surprised it counts enemy creatures.
- 52:23Speaker 1: If it didn't count enemy creatures, then even with that,
- 52:27Speaker 1: it means you either had to already have stuff on
- 52:29Speaker 1: board or have to have two creatures with it to
- 52:32Speaker 1: play it for effect, and that alone would have made
- 52:34Speaker 1: it meaningless enough, I think.
- 52:37Speaker 2: But you can have.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Two creatures on board and you steal two as well
- 52:41Speaker 1: is real good.
- 52:43Speaker 4: The problem is you put it in talk. So as
- 52:46Speaker 4: long as you again, these cards are fine as long
- 52:49Speaker 4: as they stay in the trash hat set they got printedent.
- 52:52Speaker 4: Once you put it in talk, which you're gonna have
- 52:55Speaker 4: two creatures on the flank that are probably the same house,
- 53:00Speaker 4: it becomes it's just reads game three Umber and two
- 53:04Speaker 4: of it will be my opponents. So not only am
- 53:06Speaker 4: I getting a four umber swing, I'm also getting that
- 53:08Speaker 4: one extra so I'm getting what a five Mber swing?
- 53:14Speaker 3: What okay, you're saying the swing of four?
- 53:17Speaker 4: You're swing getting the swing of four because you're stealing too.
- 53:19Speaker 4: If it just said game two, then it would be different.
- 53:23Speaker 4: It would probably be fine. But it says steal too.
- 53:26Speaker 4: So not only are you you're again hurting your opponent,
- 53:29Speaker 4: probably taking them off key and progressing your own key.
- 53:32Speaker 4: This is why Steel got really like taken down after coda.
- 53:38Speaker 1: Against all Flakes is a good card.
- 53:41Speaker 2: I it.
- 53:42Speaker 1: This is a card that doesn't bother me at all.
- 53:44Speaker 1: Like in the modern era of how strong steel needs
- 53:50Speaker 1: to be to be meaningful. This card is almost right
- 53:54Speaker 1: on for appropriate.
- 53:56Speaker 5: I mean, you can put another six power fight due
- 53:59Speaker 5: nothing thing creature in in Skyborne instead.
- 54:03Speaker 4: How does that feel? I just I just put alpha
- 54:05Speaker 4: on it. That's it.
- 54:11Speaker 1: I don't think I'd be heartbroken if the car is
- 54:14Speaker 1: just gain one amber steel to amber. Fuck okay, get
- 54:19Speaker 1: rid of get rid of all those extra words, and
- 54:21Speaker 1: just make it do what it needs to do.
- 54:22Speaker 4: But it was sets being so small you could get
- 54:25Speaker 4: three four of these okay, and then also that wasn't
- 54:31Speaker 4: good enough.
- 54:32Speaker 2: Well true, but he had it.
- 54:38Speaker 1: You didn't steal to You can grind your gear and
- 54:42Speaker 1: that's that's totally fine. I think that is good. It
- 54:49Speaker 1: does exist in some sets where recursion, and that's where
- 54:51Speaker 1: it can also become very powerful. Is that it's not
- 54:54Speaker 1: that you see it once for tack cycle. You might
- 54:56Speaker 1: see it two or three times per text cycle. And
- 55:01Speaker 1: it's not limited. One like the fact that they seem
- 55:05Speaker 1: to really drop the limit one stuff as much as
- 55:09Speaker 1: its too seems seems weird.
- 55:13Speaker 4: Especially with so much recursion. Yeah, that's what That's what
- 55:21Speaker 4: kind of drives me nuts. And some of these the
- 55:23Speaker 4: speed on some of these fucking decks is crazy. So
- 55:25Speaker 4: you're seeing you're seeing a card two three times a game.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Yep, you definitely see cards multiple times a game these
- 55:33Speaker 1: days for sure.
- 55:35Speaker 3: So this against all Flags does have the impact because
- 55:38Speaker 3: of the common slot and then the smaller card pool
- 55:40Speaker 3: that was already touched upon. The problem is is that
- 55:43Speaker 3: we compare it to previous cards, and I think seeing
- 55:45Speaker 3: this against Swindle where it has both Alpha and Omega
- 55:48Speaker 3: no amber pit printed on it, but Steel three. Okay,
- 55:52Speaker 3: so I have the same amount of amber that I'm
- 55:56Speaker 3: generating realistically, but I don't have the huge downside of
- 56:03Speaker 3: Alpha and Omega for this, and I could play multiple
- 56:06Speaker 3: in a turn like thank you, this is awesome. I
- 56:10Speaker 3: really think this deals more with the amber pit being
- 56:13Speaker 3: on it. I think that actually the steel too is
- 56:15Speaker 3: perfectly fine. It just doesn't need to have that amber
- 56:17Speaker 3: pip so. And there are times, I mean you saw
- 56:20Speaker 3: in my game I was playing against all Legs. There
- 56:22Speaker 3: are ways to be able to utilize Skyborn in order
- 56:25Speaker 3: to shift some cards, but there's some times where you
- 56:29Speaker 3: just can't play creatures or your opponent doesn't have creatures
- 56:31Speaker 3: set up and you only.
- 56:32Speaker 2: Get it as the one.
- 56:34Speaker 3: Sad, but it's still a good card there, all.
- 56:38Speaker 2: Right, DRez you said, how about seventy two more?
- 56:41Speaker 3: So?
- 56:41Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I do so all right, how about another category. Yeah,
- 56:45Speaker 5: this category is called they wrote it wrong, so hoaxpitality.
- 56:54Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure this card does not do what they
- 56:57Speaker 5: intended it to do. It's an action equaedon in Grim Reminders,
- 57:04Speaker 5: play choose an enemy creature and a friendly creature. Until
- 57:08Speaker 5: the end of the turn. The friendly creature's power is
- 57:11Speaker 5: equal to the enemy creature's power, which does basically nothing.
- 57:19Speaker 1: This card is a basically nothing card.
- 57:21Speaker 5: Right like, But they clearly meant it to do something different,
- 57:26Speaker 5: right Like.
- 57:27Speaker 1: No, it meant it's I get to be as big
- 57:29Speaker 1: as your biggest creature so I can punch it if
- 57:32Speaker 1: I need to. It's a bad card.
- 57:34Speaker 5: I like, I don't think like to me, it reads
- 57:36Speaker 5: like they meant it the other way around or something
- 57:38Speaker 5: right that that? Well, actually, I'm gonna make your creature
- 57:42Speaker 5: as strong as mine, So it's like that, and it
- 57:47Speaker 5: does well damaged or something.
- 57:49Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, so you want it already damaged so it
- 57:51Speaker 3: can be punted. You want it to be able to
- 57:53Speaker 3: modify so you can fight it with something bigger. Those
- 57:55Speaker 3: are the reasons.
- 57:56Speaker 5: Yes, the art is clearly like trying to be devious trickery.
- 58:04Speaker 5: There's nothing devious or tricksy about this card. It's just
- 58:08Speaker 5: he just doesn't do what they intended it to do meaningless.
- 58:12Speaker 3: Yep.
- 58:13Speaker 2: And so come on, guys.
- 58:16Speaker 1: Hey, what what other cards you got in this?
- 58:18Speaker 5: Because I've got destructive analysis? Okay that was on my
- 58:21Speaker 5: list yep, yep, so let me pull it up real quick.
- 58:25Speaker 5: So destructive analysis. So it's a Mars action with the
- 58:30Speaker 5: number PIP on it play deal too damage to a creature.
- 58:34Speaker 5: You may purge any number of cards from your archives
- 58:37Speaker 5: to deal an additional two damage to the same creature
- 58:40Speaker 5: for each card purge this way. This is in mar
- 58:44Speaker 5: you know a number of sets, and but.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Give you ways to capture opponent's cards into your hand
- 58:51Speaker 1: earned your archives exactly.
- 58:53Speaker 5: So the the whole thought, the immediate thing everybody's saying is, ooh,
- 58:58Speaker 5: got to purge my opponent's cards. That's really cool because
- 59:01Speaker 5: it would be really cool and still not that strong,
- 59:05Speaker 5: but I'm not, like I would be pretty good, but
- 59:09Speaker 5: like it's not not broken or anything.
- 59:12Speaker 2: But no, the way they have the rules written, it
- 59:14Speaker 2: doesn't work.
- 59:15Speaker 1: But it's not though they have a cued this like
- 59:18Speaker 1: junk to work this way. Like this is one of
- 59:22Speaker 1: those ones where they're like, oh, this is how we
- 59:24Speaker 1: decide the rules work, and it has it's counterintuitive to
- 59:27Speaker 1: what anybody would expect mm hmmm, which is when anytime
- 59:32Speaker 1: an opponent's card leaves your archives, it immediately goes back
- 59:38Speaker 1: to their hand, and any of the other effects that
- 59:43Speaker 1: may have existed for a card leaving archives don't happen,
- 59:47Speaker 1: like which it's not there to purge, so you don't
- 59:49Speaker 1: get to do the two damage. It's it's just it's weird.
- 59:55Speaker 1: It's that the whole out of play and there's other
- 59:58Speaker 1: weird stuff that I can remember all the weird rules
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: because we talked about before, but out of play zone,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: you know, like they keep writing cards that do it,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: but don't think about how right now the rules are
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: written and are impacting them right because they are just
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: all kinds of weird stuff.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: Well, I think what you're really getting at is the
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: templating is inconsistent.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: But that's not even templating that was It's clear what
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: the card designer wanted, but the rules writer wrote the
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: rules differently, and they won't go back and fix it.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: I can't disagree with that because it makes some it
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: does make some other weird gray areas because it's the
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: whole thing, right, scoop up to one of the ones,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: because if you when you scoop up a card, that like,
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: it doesn't tell you what to do with a card
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: when you scoop up a card you stole from your opponent.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: And there's some thing in the rules where it's like
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: the cards go back unless the rules tell you what
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: else to do with them, or something about they can't
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: even go in there. There's something about like a card
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: you can't even archive in an opponent's card unless it's
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: also the card also tells you where the card is
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: supposed to be going when it leaves the archives. It's
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: it's such weird rules stuff, and it just it's it's again,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: it's where it's like, what's the least intuitive thing we
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: could have come up with? Let's make that what's going
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: on here?
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: Yep, yep.
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: The final they wrote it wrong that I have is
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: key hammer, which which also borders into another category have
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: which is new player traps. But but I put it
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: and they wrote it wrong, So key hammer, it's a disaction.
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: It's got a number play. If your opponent forged a
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: key on their previous turn unforged period, your opponent gains
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: six Amber. So I think it seems pretty clear what
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: they attended is hey, not a period.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: We're basically, hey give them six mber.
- 1:02:23Speaker 5: Yeah if you do, right, But nope, that's not how
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: it's written.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: And they just ran with it.
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: And this is definitely screws up new players and leads to.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: Yeah, they even just they just I'm pretty sure they
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: made this on legacyable and then just made the new
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: verbon of the card.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: Wow, there was one more. I'll have to my brain
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: comes back to it. There's another miswritten card, and now
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: I can't remember what it is.
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: Well, there's a minor one, right, there's the one they
- 1:02:58Speaker 5: didn't put the they put may and uh, is that
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: what you're thinking of the backup something or other?
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: Well, no, there was the original. I mean, like you know,
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: there's anything they rotted. But no, the other one where they.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: I think, is that what you're going with?
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: No. So the other one that I think that they
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: wrote wrong was the Brobnar card that gives Perma skirmish.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: Oh yes, right.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: Which it was clearly probably to have the same window
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: or for this turn, but they didn't put it on
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: the card. So it says if you're haunted, Ready and
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: fight with a creature. It gains skirmish period. There's no
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: ending on the skirmish effects. So like, there's this, but
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: it's not a counter, right, because every other time they
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: give permanent effects, they like do counters, or they it's
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: a card while this card doesn't play or something. But
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: then all of a sudden, there's this one card that
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: exists somewhere that's like, here's a way to add a
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: permanent effect to a card that wants the cards in
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: the discard card. It's gone. You don't remember. There's no
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: indicator that this has happened. It stays that way for ever.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: But then but also if you were to bounce that
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: creature to your hand and put it back in the play,
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: it loses it. But because there's no tracking on it
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: is just like a sloppy It is just a sloppy
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: thing that they wrote, and it's instead of a rotting
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: that card, they're just like, yeah, it's fine.
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: It's fight to the end. So Amber Pit, Fight to
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: the end Action Play Tuesday Friendly creature period. If you're haunted, Kamma,
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: that creature gained skirmish period. Ready and fight with that
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: creature period.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: Yes, and it could have just said instead Comma ready
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: and fight or this games skirmish for this fight. Like,
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: there's so many things they could have wrote there. They
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: could just erat on the card. And it's again, I
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: don't actually think it's too powerful that it needs to
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: be taken away because it's game breaking. I think they
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: need to take it away because it's another stupid thing
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: to try to track in a game that's already got
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: too many stupid things for tracking.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: Hm.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: That is also not consistent with anything else in the game.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: Yep, all right, I had I had a quick category
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: of what were they thinking this? This is us our
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: sweet card called Early Birds Shadows card, two Amber Pips
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: Alpha Play Ready each Shadows card. I know what they did,
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: but the amount of cards that actually will exhaust your
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: creatures ahead of time, it has almost no effect, Like
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: there are a number of Yeah, it has the umber
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: that's there, but like, seriously, why why why did we
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: why do we take a slot with this? This was
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: not needed.
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: This was a horrible It's not even like it's in
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: some of the other houses that have ways of creating
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: tokens off house so you could be like, oh, I ready,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: all those tokens I made on your turn.
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: Has anybody ever actually ready to creature with this?
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: Nope, I'm certain somebody has, but it is not us.
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: Well, I observe somebody.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: It was not me, but I have played it for
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: ember before I have my next card.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: Yeah, grinds my gears. It's crespecular rays. It was on mine.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: Too, Yeah, twins.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: This is the card where they're like, and it's like
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: it already existed in a worse form and was pretty good,
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: and they're like, well, let's make it better and then
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: put it in a house that has two cards that
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: make it so you card this and a card that
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: basically captures all of your opponent's amber.
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: Repeatedly, so we're back on recursion. Interesting.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: Yeah, well it's yes, and the in here Somewhere or specula.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: Rays and veil.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: It's just like, really like, there's no answer for that.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: As long as they have a creature in hand, they
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: play their creature. Their deck, you know, is wherever they
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: capture all your amber, they kill it and get all
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: the amber and then go in here somewhere. I put
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: it back and then like maybe even another in here
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: somewhere and I archive the creature and the other and
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: the first in here somewhere, So I'm mostly gonna do
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: this stuff again at least like you could play around
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: uh sink Semper because you could maybe put a bigger
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: power creature into play, right, there were there were ways
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: to make Sinksimper not just a guaranteed fire crap raise
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: is just crap raise, right, It's just like bam, space
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: dollars belong to me.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: See.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: But this is again where the designer of the set
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: should have been like, oh, maybe we don't reprint Veil
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: back into this set, and that fixes this card, does
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: it not?
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: I mean not perfectly still has discard cards and that
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: house still can capture, but yes, veil crap raise together
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: is like, yeah, that sounds prettiestly.
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: Yeah, it becomes in a house, which shows up a
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: lot more frequently. You will have some of your specialty
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: creatures that can do a whole bunch of capture, and
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: so that is devastating, but it would be less rare
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: than in the house.
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: Or your your opponent has a turn to respond during
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: that time, right, Like they can stop it by just
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: killing the creature.
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: Right most of the time, yes, but yes, when it's
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: in the house. I was actually thinking of more of
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: our amber sky's sky beasts, Like there's a number of
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: sky beasts that will go ahead and capture a whole bunch,
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: and so it would be less rare that you would
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: end up with your Crispialley rays plus than your sky beast.
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: And so that's where we're really looking at it.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: Yeah, let alone with the way it works in amber skies,
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: you can have prospecular rays with an enhanced drumble. That
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: kind of stuff exists too. That it's just like, come on, man,
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: this is this is just And then, like I said,
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: in here somewhere, so they just set it up again
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: and you're like, well, I don't have a ki cheet,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: so ah, what can I do? Not a whole lot?
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: This is too powerful.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: That's ship started where it's like certain cards are like
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: too powerful, need to ride immediately. And here what about
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: all these other cards that are clearly like they were
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: done wrong? Yeah, but the cards were a lot of
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: the cards. Some of these cards crap rays. In here
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: somewhere with a veil is more of an archon problem
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: than how often it shows up and sealed, Like the
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: the thing with echo echdo and why I think they
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: got it is because it just it was like bait
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: and switch is like you would pick a deck just
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: because of that card, because it was that strong, which
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: made it that impactful. Not saying they had to have
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: read it, I'm saying that's the reason, and it doesn't
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: bother me that that's why they did it. It's not
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: because of how good it is an ARCon because.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: Well, but the idea for a key sheet when part
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: of the game is that you're going to be having
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: cards in your discard pile, there's already inherent lean towards that,
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: and now I have an amber pip on it with
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: a reduced cost. Yes, please, this is a great key sheet.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: Acto was also just too good because it's in the
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: house where it's like, even if I get the card early,
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: I most likely have a way to just have it
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: for later. So it was almost I guaranteed freak key
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: when it was before they were at it, It's just
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: like I'm going to I'm only playing the two keys,
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: you're playing to three keys, and I already have the
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: best house in this set.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: So let's go, all right, we got any more? Oh,
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: I got a whole bunch more.
- 1:11:44Speaker 5: All right, well, let's let's give a few. Don't do
- 1:11:46Speaker 5: every single one, but so so there's definitely some cards
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: that well, I think my actually better name is what
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: I would I actually change it to before, for it
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: was a tease, right where like we sand was theoretically
- 1:12:05Speaker 5: interesting but actually terrible.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: Right, terrible.
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: I remember card YEP. I remember early on when I
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: was first starting to play this game, I got this
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: card that like I read it and I was like, oh,
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: it sounds cool, but then I realized it basically never
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: does anything. So it's way back. You got to take
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: the way back machine to the Code of Days. This
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: is a Logos creature Osmo Martianologist. It's it's a two
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: power human scientist elusive.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: When you thought this car was going to do something.
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: I what fight CEP heal three damage from a Mars
- 1:12:49Speaker 5: creature or stun a Mars creature, But like you don't.
- 1:12:55Speaker 5: It doesn't come in a deck necessarily that Mars and ye,
- 1:13:01Speaker 5: so you're not guaranteed to be able to heal a
- 1:13:03Speaker 5: Mars creature, which by the way, is a terrible action, uh,
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: a terrible ability. And you know in those Code of
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: Days like Mars, except for like you know, fraud in
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: a couple of decks. Like, there's not a ton of
- 1:13:18Speaker 5: amazing mars out there, so this card basically does nothing. Yeah,
- 1:13:24Speaker 5: and and it's a tease because there was something interesting
- 1:13:29Speaker 5: with how they could have done things with the algorithm
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: and decks, but instead it does nothing.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: Yes, that card does nothing.
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: Other cards that do nothing. I still have yet to
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: actually pull a deck with this sweet insect grouping the bomblicks.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: Bomble X one.
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: Oh yeah, there you go. See the those are what
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: I actually look for when you can actually do something
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: because they're just they're taking up multiple slots, so when
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: you have three slots out of twelve, sad pan.
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: They were like a worst version of a gigantic creature. Yeah,
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: but in that same similar like garbage vein, but they
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: didn't have a they're there fix our s order. Thing
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: wasn't good, like like the the guy from Robner who
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: is also really bad.
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: Well, we're going, I got in the green. Oh I
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: hate I got on the green.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: I're going, We're going.
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: That could have been good. What about the Power Rangers, Yeah,
- 1:14:33Speaker 4: they're they.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: Were good and sealed, man, there's a lot of sealed
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: games Power Rangers.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: That's true.
- 1:14:38Speaker 5: They could have done okay and sealed. Yeah, the how
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: about the curator? Anybody ever actually get value curator?
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: Wait? Which was the curator?
- 1:14:49Speaker 5: Logos logos creature three power, human scientists, friendly artifacts, enter play,
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: no curator never. I I don't think I've ever heard.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: Was it somebody trying to build a alliance that was
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: going to use the curator? Probably that's about the only
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: way you could do anything with it.
- 1:15:10Speaker 5: And all alliance people are weird, Yeah, like for I, yeah,
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: I was. I remember being like, oh, there's got to
- 1:15:17Speaker 5: be a way to make this good, and it's it
- 1:15:19Speaker 5: just never it's uh, it's aa flightless, it's in a way.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: The so there's not that many great artifacts that you
- 1:15:29Speaker 5: wish could come in ready in AOA.
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: So it just just doesn't do anything.
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: No, I was a real bad card so on artifacts,
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: since we're talking about these amazing artifacts, uh NEPA gigantica
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: sweet untamed artifact item action, stunned creature with power five
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: or higher or stunned gigantic creature slow doesn't do anything, yeah,
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: or a giant creature like oh my goodness, why just
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: why why so bad?
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: Because untamed was once almost good. It's like these cards
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: are boring in every way, right, like.
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: Like it doesn't it never does anything.
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: My my, the my trap card is Niche Market.
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: Okay, oh yeah your Niche Market.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: Niche Market. It's it's a bad card. You shouldn't play it,
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: and you can get more than.
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: One of them. Mm hmmm.
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: And it gives them action, right, it doesn't even it's
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: not even on reap, Right, there's Niche.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: I think it's you.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: I don't even remember so bad because like I stay
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: around from the Niche Market action. Yes, it gives it
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: creatures with the lowest power game action steel one. So
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: like multiple of them aren't even helpful. Yeah, yes, this
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: card is. And it's got the Amber Pip trapp on it.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: And like every time I've ever seen my every time
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: I've seen it played, it's my opponent plays it and
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: then I'm the one who abuses it.
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: Well, but I think that you can actually look at
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: and see do I have creatures of the lowest power especially.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: But just still can't guarantee you control this and giving
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: your opponent Amber control is just like to me is
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: just like a no, no dumb dumb move. I can't
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: disagree this is I mean, like it's the only time
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: I've ever played this card. It was probably because I
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: had so much board control that they were never going
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: to have a creature on the board. You know. I
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: was already up five six creatures to their nothing. So
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, and I'm about to win the game,
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: so I'll just take the amber Pip to stick the
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: nail on the coffin. But this card is bad. I
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: think Pete might have been one of the guys who
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: played it against me and I abused him for it.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: He probably played I said, Pete, what are you doing?
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: He's like, it's fine, and would you would be a Pete?
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: Frequently he even remembers the date.
- 1:18:09Speaker 5: That's so yeah, new player traps, that's one of them.
- 1:18:14Speaker 5: Most of the ships, right, like the Eruption, All these
- 1:18:18Speaker 5: ships where you like exalt them a bunch of times
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: and just give your opponent ember because you're like, it's
- 1:18:24Speaker 5: a big ship.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: The garbage upgrades they come with it is insulting. And
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: then like the good ship, the good ships then also
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: came with good upgrades, like the Probner ship's bad and
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: then it comes with two badish upgrades hmm. And then
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: the logo ship is good and comes up to good.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: Upgrades right and doesn't exalt itself.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're just like, what the heck.
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: So here, here's here's my philosophy on this totally unbiased,
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: actual background checked at all. But I believe that there's
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: just different people working on each individual house, and so
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: one works on it says, hey, these ships are good,
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: and now they're done, and this player X now goes
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: out and says, oh, this house, now their ships are done,
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: and they never just cross checked at all. That's what
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: it feels like to me. And it's horrible to see
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: the discrepancy between these ships.
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: I mean is at the right hand of the left hand,
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: like they don't too many people working.
- 1:19:22Speaker 6: On this gamee Yeah, I understand I'm designing cards in
- 1:19:29Speaker 6: the morning or and these other ones I'm designing at
- 1:19:33Speaker 6: six pm after three beers.
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: Well, but it's like.
- 1:19:38Speaker 5: Which is better though, Yeah, I don't know better. That's
- 1:19:43Speaker 5: actually interesting question. We should we should measure that it
- 1:19:47Speaker 5: could be the later one.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: You never know, the drunk cards are the better cards.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: That that would be a very interesting question.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: Yeah, the ships are a straight up discipline and that
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: they come with upgrades and you know, it's just like
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: upgrades are already questionable value cards in this game, and
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: then you might have them and helping to play them
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: on or you play and they have an amber. It's
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: just like I getting a bunch of upgrades that also
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: when you start looking at the upgrades don't necessarily even
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: make meaningfully improvements to the ships they came with. Yeah
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: like that, it wouldn't even be your target for the
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: upgrade anyways, that ship was. It was your only choice.
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: So yeah that they they don't really grind my gear.
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: That's just like that. That's right there in the blasters
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: kind of thing, where like someone were good, someone were bad.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: You know where there's they're trying this like, oh, we
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: want to add something to every house, but we have
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: no idea how to make this insistently good or bad.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: So we'll just do somebob both and see what people
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: think are fun. It's like the shards too.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: Oh yeah, well the new ones are good.
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: But yes, yes, I'll say the new ones are fine.
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: But has there ever been I'm trying to think of
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: a series of cards that all the car like the leaders,
- 1:21:19Speaker 4: Like what were two leaders good? Valgerica Valgerica.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: And then.
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: Oh yeah he was pretty goods were pretty much all
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: bad except for the new ones.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: But yeah, I can't believe. I understand they didn't want
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: to put any new cards in Discovery, but to put
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: shards in Discovery and not make a shard for Star
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: Alliance just seems like such a kick in the.
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: You could make the argument on Sins as a grouping
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: that is decent.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: So Sins are cool.
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: I'm trying to think of like any of the cards
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: that had like a thing, like even the Horsemen like, but.
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: That was one house, you know, like the things that
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: I'm thinking of, But that's just there's just in there
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: was the the what are the bad ones and shadows
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: that likes know that you gained amber for the house, plants,
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: the plants, but they didn't do anything interesting with that.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: Those were bad. The the Sanctum cards, Ambassadors, Ambassadors, Ambassadors
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: another but that was the same thing as plants, where
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: it was just like here's one card that can have
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: one of you know, it can have all the different
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: houses on it. But what else did they pick? And
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: then first one like they did the makes a token
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: in Archives card, that's one where you feel like it's
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: misprinted because Nicetoid.
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: Didn't get your your outposts.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: I will outpost.
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: They're pretty good often pay Yeah, and they brought actually
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: value in token set because you could pull back key
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: cards that you needed.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I think they did pretty good. Like most
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: of them were not bad cards.
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: Yeah. I like the idea of being able to try
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: different tactics, to try different fassets. I think I really
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: need to ask the GG team when we look at
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: the amass four power demon each time your opponent draws
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: a card, make a token creature on your right flank.
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: Was this early in the morning or was this after beers,
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: because those are the cards that I want to do
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: some more planning around that. That's where my question is gonna.
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: Ask, even even the make a token every time of
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: creature is destroyed beyond all darkness.
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: Dark especially Okay, So here's the thing about Beyond All Darkness.
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: It's sitting at uncommon. So when you get multiples.
- 1:24:09Speaker 7: Yes, ding ding ding, it's just and and and it's
- 1:24:15Speaker 7: in the house with the the fighting creatures of the
- 1:24:21Speaker 7: board wipes and the creatures that want to die.
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: But I gained the benefit by your creature dying and
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: my creature. Let's have fun with this.
- 1:24:34Speaker 5: So we are missing by the way, in my opinion,
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: one of the creates terrible play experience cards, and that
- 1:24:44Speaker 5: card is Urka Noometer.
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: Oh nope, I had it. I had in my list. Man.
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: So so for a while I.
- 1:24:53Speaker 5: Was trying, I was like whoa, and I was I
- 1:24:56Speaker 5: was out there, I was, you know, a, yeah, I'm
- 1:24:58Speaker 5: gonna get one of these U House Enhanced Arkonomics.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: That's when becomes I was playing it, and I just
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: I just felt dirtier and dirtier.
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: And like a person.
- 1:25:12Speaker 5: Yeah, and not like you know, a wookie, sort of
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: like happy about it way like in a like I'm
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: just a bad person for doing this, and.
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: I just don't want to shame afterwards.
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: Yeah, So I I found some that were pretty good,
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: but I was just like, no, I'm not I'm not
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: even gonna.
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: I can't.
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: I can't play this against Yeah, yeah, I'm so my
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: just send those links over to me.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: In general, looked them.
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: Over, just you know, heads up on that one.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: They they took the step up on artifact quality again
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: in Amber Skies, which isn't necessarily bad until they went
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: but then let's house and handsome, so you can use
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: the two thirds of the game and that's when and
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: that's just that's the difference between amber Sky's being okay
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: and the amber Sky's decks that are going to direct
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: people's faces. Are these house enhanced artifacts that just become
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: game warpingly strong, so hide.
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: Before we get there. I think that our knometer simply
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: should have said creature or action, like being a little
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: bit more specific versus just card where it's general really
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: would have helped to because.
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: The action is basically the cards right or action he's saying.
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: But by going ahead in place as or it gives
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: an out because when you face ur Kainometer and it,
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: especially if it's enhanced, it's just like you're losing amber
- 1:26:56Speaker 3: all the time.
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: You have to have mar Reap Shenanigans to beat it,
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: like you're not. You're not going to beat it with
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: traditional I mean control, yes, but.
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: Yeah, not every deck has artifact control. We can't guarantee
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: it's going to be there.
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's going to be interesting to see after
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: two or three events if house enhanced amber Sky's decks
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: are good enough and we see them hitting top tables,
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: if some decks that don't have art r have to
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: get shelved like an Aria because you just like, I
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: don't have our and I keep getting beat by these
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: stupid amber Skis artifacts.
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it is true, it's not.
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: It's not other sets. It's just amber Sky's artifacts.
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: Mm hmm. Interesting.
- 1:27:51Speaker 4: Let's do one more and then send her home. What
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: you got, you're probably the last one with with kai I,
- 1:27:59Speaker 4: you you have amazing All right.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: Let's let's let's do one. Let's end on a totally
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: boring note. Hollowed blaster.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: Yeah, just like what this this card and dive pod.
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: Dive pods always been one that I throw on this pile.
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: That's another.
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: Yeah, Niffle grounds often fits in this file.
- 1:28:26Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a it's it's a Sanctum artifact in coda,
- 1:28:30Speaker 5: thankfully only coda. It's a weapon for some reason. Uh
- 1:28:36Speaker 5: action heal three damage from a creature, No ember on it.
- 1:28:42Speaker 5: It it doesn't matter, like it just doesn't do anything
- 1:28:48Speaker 5: or it's just it's just boring.
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: Why would you?
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's bad. This is one of those cards
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: where they can even head it like, Okay, you could
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: say heal a creature fully and it still wouldn't be
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: good enough to matter. You can almost say I'll he'll
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: all damage on your creatures and the card still wouldn't matter.
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: Maybe that would be good enough.
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: Oh probably not mean yeah, probably not. No, hollow blaster
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: is bad. Yeah, it's another card that just does it.
- 1:29:26Speaker 4: Like this is one of those times where you question
- 1:29:30Speaker 4: the you know, well, card games need bad cards. It's
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: like do they though, yeah, this card doesn't. We need
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: to make interesting things.
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: Happen, right right, like you just yeah, the most exciting
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: thing you have is if you reshuffle it didn't get
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: shuffled in. That is the most exciting thing that happens
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: with that car.
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: The card that should have had amber printed on it,
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: and a lot of it. Honestly, if it had omni okay,
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: maybe they.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: Should have had heel a three two three if it
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: heals three amber, yeah, something something like that, like, and
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: it still wouldn't be a good car.
- 1:30:13Speaker 4: I think to say, if it heal damage this turn
- 1:30:17Speaker 4: gain a number or gain gain one umber for each
- 1:30:23Speaker 4: damage it could make it just be heal something and
- 1:30:27Speaker 4: gain two amber. And because it's an aoa synctom, it
- 1:30:30Speaker 4: still wouldn't.
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: Be a good car. Maybe flightless as triple deck would
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: then go from a forty two dumpster to a fifty
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: two dumpster. I have actually no idea what it's but
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: I gotta assume anything with three alive bastards is gonna
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: be real bad.
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: But it's just like, yeah, that, like that card is
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: so far from being meaningful.
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: They could.
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: They could power it up a ton and it still
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: wouldn't make a difference.
- 1:31:01Speaker 4: Alrighty, well, that's gonna do it for us this week.
- 1:31:04Speaker 4: Let us know what your uh what cards really grind
- 1:31:07Speaker 4: your gears? Or for all our youngers out there, skimmity toilet,
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: no cap, put that down. Put it down in the
- 1:31:16Speaker 4: uh the comments down below. We'll probably do another one
- 1:31:19Speaker 4: of these because it's draftscore has fifty seven more.
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: I got a bunch more. I mean, if we just
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: put all dog water cards, does grind your gears?
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: Wait, let's talk about troche and sorrow pot Jesus, we'll
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: save that for next time. No, Keith Forde doesn't just grind,
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: but sometimes it grinds my gears. When you look at
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: your deck and you're like, what what what is what?
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: Even is this?
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: Like?
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you open a deck.
- 1:31:45Speaker 4: And you see triples of some cardo, you should feel
- 1:31:50Speaker 4: some sort of shame for even selling this to me. Yeah,
- 1:31:55Speaker 4: how how did the algorithm even make this like this? Jonavan,
- 1:32:00Speaker 4: this is a this is a stroll back, but well,
- 1:32:05Speaker 4: we'll go through those another day.
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: Thank you all for listening. We'll see y'all next week.
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: Happy forging everyone, May the Forge be with you.
