- 0:00Speaker 1: Is that pink or red? It's one more thing.
- 0:03Speaker 2: I'm strong and getty.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Before we get to the topic matter of the podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 1: We don't usually do breaking news for the podcast because
- 0:13Speaker 1: it would be kind of silly since by definition, you're
- 0:16Speaker 1: going to listen to it, you know, later today or
- 0:20Speaker 1: this week or two years from now. But Kamala Harris
- 0:23Speaker 1: just stepped to the microphone everybody carried it live for
- 0:28Speaker 1: a big announcement about the news of the day. And
- 0:31Speaker 1: she walked up to a podium with it looks like
- 0:35Speaker 1: the White House binder anyway, some Washington, d c. Looking
- 0:37Speaker 1: building with an American flag on one side, another flag
- 0:40Speaker 1: on the other side, had all the trappings of I'm
- 0:42Speaker 1: President of the United States. Walked up to the microphone
- 0:45Speaker 1: in the podium and just talked about with the revelations
- 0:47Speaker 1: today that Donald Trump admires Hitler and his desire to
- 0:51Speaker 1: be a fascist, the American people have a decision to make.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Do we want to allow this to happen Donald Trump
- 0:56Speaker 1: to take total power or are we going to choose
- 0:59Speaker 1: a different direction. We have thirteen days to decide. And
- 1:02Speaker 1: then she turned around and walked off. I mean, it
- 1:04Speaker 1: was super over the top dramatic, the way it looked
- 1:07Speaker 1: and everything. You're gonna tell me that.
- 1:09Speaker 3: I'm shaking my head. I'm trying to comprehend this.
- 1:11Speaker 1: How about that whole thing was coordinated the Jeffrey Goldberg
- 1:16Speaker 1: Atlantic piece with Kelly and the tape and then we're
- 1:19Speaker 1: gonna release it. And they had this visual lined out
- 1:23Speaker 1: already where she's gonna look like she's president, like she's
- 1:25Speaker 1: in front. It looked like she was in the Rose Garden.
- 1:27Speaker 1: That's what it looked like. And I'll bet this whole
- 1:30Speaker 1: thing was orchestrated. We'll see how it lands. Boy, that's desperation, man,
- 1:35Speaker 1: further evidence of who Donald Trump really is. In thirteen days,
- 1:38Speaker 1: we will have a decision to make. She said, I
- 1:41Speaker 1: just rolled my eyes so hard. I stared at my
- 1:43Speaker 1: brain for a moment.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Yeah. We'll getting good up there. Yeah.
- 1:47Speaker 1: So anyway, we'll be following that on the Armstrong and
- 1:50Speaker 1: Getty Radio show next episode. Look for where you can
- 1:53Speaker 1: find that, or keep finding our podcasts Armstrong and Getty
- 1:56Speaker 1: on demand. Set this little thing up here, this little
- 2:00Speaker 1: comedy bit, whatever it is, Katie, all.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Right, so this is just a little cartoon.
- 2:04Speaker 4: There's two guys talking and then the third voice that
- 2:06Speaker 4: you're gonna hear is a monster that is supposed to
- 2:09Speaker 4: represent our auto auto prediction text on our phone.
- 2:13Speaker 5: Okay, God, I just wish that Hollywood would stop making
- 2:16Speaker 5: these lame cash grabs and make something original for a change.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Oh death, definally.
- 2:22Speaker 1: What No?
- 2:24Speaker 3: I meant death defiantly?
- 2:25Speaker 1: No, no, you you meant to say defiantly the duck.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Duck's following me around all day.
- 2:32Speaker 3: He's been consistently.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Interjectively no, no, it's constantly you're welcome. Oh man, that
- 2:39Speaker 1: seems like it can get annoying. Yeah, you're telling you
- 2:43Speaker 1: what I said.
- 2:44Speaker 3: You're wrong your You used your instead of your, like
- 2:49Speaker 3: you're a dumbass.
- 2:51Speaker 4: How is that?
- 2:51Speaker 3: Even Presbyterian Philo didn't.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Even make me say.
- 2:57Speaker 6: Funny beautiful, that is funny between the accurate, but yeah,
- 3:05Speaker 6: between the iPhone guessing is so wildly wrong as to
- 3:10Speaker 6: what my next word is going.
- 3:11Speaker 1: To be and then correcting the correct word. That's what
- 3:15Speaker 1: the one that drives drives me crazy. Were is a word,
- 3:19Speaker 1: It's an actual word. It comes up regularly in conversation.
- 3:22Speaker 1: We were going to do that, but now we can't.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Well we are no. No quit change, quit putting the
- 3:28Speaker 1: apostrophe in don't make me spend like thirty seconds trying
- 3:31Speaker 1: to fix warr into weird.
- 3:33Speaker 6: Ah.
- 3:34Speaker 2: The number of times I've sent what the hill?
- 3:36Speaker 1: Yeah, what the heel?
- 3:38Speaker 3: Are you talking about? What the he will? Huh?
- 3:42Speaker 1: What?
- 3:43Speaker 3: What like one is consistently?
- 3:45Speaker 5: I mean all people always write heel as in he
- 3:48Speaker 5: will and they.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Never write hell and text. I don't. I don't get
- 3:51Speaker 3: healthy decide. I mean, what percentages is? What percentages are
- 3:56Speaker 3: involved that it's strong enough that you just go ahead
- 3:58Speaker 3: and correct it, whether I want you to or not.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Well, particularly with weir and weird, those are both very
- 4:06Speaker 1: very common words.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Sure, yeah, yeah, I don't. I don't.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I'm confused by the algorithm on that.
- 4:11Speaker 4: Stuff, just like I would start to say, properly's Presbyteria.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I makes sense?
- 4:20Speaker 5: Well, And as again with my gihad when your voice
- 4:24Speaker 5: texting Apple, If an American male says he's going to
- 4:28Speaker 5: make a tee time, it's spelled te not tea. We're
- 4:34Speaker 5: not going to gather with our little to tea cups
- 4:38Speaker 5: and our crumpets, with our pinkies out and sip tea.
- 4:42Speaker 5: We're gonna freaking hit golf balls, all right, Apple, all right.
- 4:46Speaker 1: What's stunning to me, and I actually am interested in
- 4:48Speaker 1: this is how it seems to me to be significantly
- 4:51Speaker 1: worse than it was a couple of years ago. I
- 4:53Speaker 1: used to voice text all the time and it was
- 4:54Speaker 1: pretty effortless. Now they put in random commas that make
- 4:58Speaker 1: it almost unreadable, and it has gotten worse.
- 5:01Speaker 3: They're trying to do more.
- 5:03Speaker 1: But it's but I would think you would test it
- 5:07Speaker 1: and realize, well, this is worse than it was before,
- 5:09Speaker 1: so let's keep working on it until we roll it out.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Voice texting is absolutely worse than it was a couple
- 5:16Speaker 1: of years ago. Without a doubt. I voiced text all
- 5:18Speaker 1: day home.
- 5:19Speaker 2: So this is a little off off the topic of this.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Have you guys ever had somebody text you a bunch
- 5:25Speaker 4: of curse words and here Siri read it back to you.
- 5:27Speaker 1: It's hysteroi yeah, oh yeah, yeah. When I walk at night,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I'm usually listening to podcasts and when I get texts
- 5:33Speaker 1: it Siri reads it to me and says, you know,
- 5:35Speaker 1: Joe just sent you a text, And then it is
- 5:38Speaker 1: funny to hear in her voice, Ah wow.
- 5:41Speaker 3: I will remember that.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I'll send you it just a curse word laden text
- 5:45Speaker 2: later and.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Have please please, Speaking of texts and emojis and all
- 5:50Speaker 1: that different sort of stuff, I just became aware of
- 5:53Speaker 1: this the other day. The pink heart is significantly different
- 5:56Speaker 1: than the red heart. And I guess until recently there
- 6:00Speaker 1: was only the red heart. I don't know, but the
- 6:02Speaker 1: red heart is a specific like love strong emotion sort
- 6:09Speaker 1: of like probably just between lovers or married people and
- 6:14Speaker 1: shouldn't be used for that, whereas the pink heart is
- 6:16Speaker 1: the dialed down, just kind of work friendly.
- 6:21Speaker 3: And I am not.
- 6:22Speaker 5: Hips to this, and I don't think my wife is either,
- 6:24Speaker 5: and certainly if I'm texting hearts, it's to her.
- 6:27Speaker 4: We've always had the pink heart, it's just been kind
- 6:30Speaker 4: of buried deep in the emojis. But with this new
- 6:32Speaker 4: update that Apple just put out, it's the reaction to
- 6:35Speaker 4: text messages. So when you hold down, it gives you
- 6:37Speaker 4: the option to heart or this or that or whatever.
- 6:39Speaker 4: And so they added the new choice to pick whatever
- 6:42Speaker 4: emoji you want to react to the text messages. So, yes,
- 6:45Speaker 4: the pink heart is a little less I love you
- 6:48Speaker 4: than the red heart.
- 6:50Speaker 3: So I could respond with Santa Claus or a shark.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Yeah, you could send there the poop emoji. You can
- 6:57Speaker 2: do whatever you want.
- 7:00Speaker 1: I just told Joe we need to be there by five,
- 7:02Speaker 1: and he responded with a pair of pants. I don't
- 7:04Speaker 1: know what that means. Yeah, so I think I don't
- 7:11Speaker 1: send emojis as a grown up, but I do receive
- 7:13Speaker 1: them fairly often. And uh, and yeah, you can't be
- 7:16Speaker 1: just sending red hearts all over the place, because that's way, way,
- 7:20Speaker 1: way too intimate.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Responded to one of the group texts with a pickle.
- 7:26Speaker 3: That's not that helpful. I know, what do you mean?
- 7:28Speaker 3: That was a spicy thing to say or crunchy?
- 7:31Speaker 2: I mystified here, we could have a lot of fun
- 7:34Speaker 2: with this.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Oh boy, a pair of pants?
- 7:38Speaker 1: When would you ever use that?
- 7:41Speaker 3: I don't know, that's what I'm saying.
- 7:44Speaker 2: You were talking about tight pants earlier.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Jack probably be uh, I want to get these off
- 7:50Speaker 1: of you. I'm when you would use that, but not
- 7:53Speaker 1: as a reaction. No, yeah, you're right, Yeah, what what
- 7:59Speaker 1: circumstances reaction?
- 8:00Speaker 3: Pants?
- 8:01Speaker 1: I don't know when I would ever say that?
- 8:05Speaker 3: Yeah? Or how fruit is that?
- 8:11Speaker 7: Oh?
- 8:11Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 8:12Speaker 3: And the egg planting please please emoji ABC? I remember
- 8:19Speaker 3: the peach still looks like, Yeah, the peach is.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Still why haven't they. Why haven't they just put a
- 8:25Speaker 1: penis on there as opposed to anybody, as opposed to
- 8:31Speaker 1: coarse idiotic? But everybody uses the egg plant the same way,
- 8:35Speaker 1: So why not just have a penis?
- 8:37Speaker 3: I I use it to indicate a little egg plant
- 8:40Speaker 3: parmagiana would be delicious tonight, Dottie?
- 8:43Speaker 6: All right?
- 8:44Speaker 3: Is that a perverse, childish way you're suggesting?
- 8:46Speaker 2: Is there an emoji for the badge?
- 8:48Speaker 5: Oh?
- 8:49Speaker 3: Lord, yes, I'm not going there though. Well, I have
- 8:54Speaker 3: my dignity.
- 8:55Speaker 1: What Jack doesn't.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I'm asking what what is it?
- 8:58Speaker 1: What is it?
- 8:59Speaker 2: What is the imagine?
- 9:00Speaker 3: Moody? Look at your phones? Okay, that's one option.
- 9:07Speaker 7: And here's the other one. Here's the other one. Why
- 9:10Speaker 7: do you Okay, two questions. Why do you know this?
- 9:14Speaker 7: Why do you know this? I know all so stuff?
- 9:17Speaker 1: Why do Katie and I not? And you do?
- 9:20Speaker 5: That?
- 9:20Speaker 1: Seems weird like you seem like the last person of
- 9:23Speaker 1: the group here that would know what the the JJ
- 9:26Speaker 1: emojis are.
- 9:27Speaker 3: I absorb everything I come into contact with. Some of
- 9:31Speaker 3: it's useful, some of it's not. I can't help it. Okay,
- 9:34Speaker 3: why did well in school?
- 9:36Speaker 2: The second one makes a little bit of sense. That
- 9:38Speaker 2: first one's just that's rude.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I know who I'm sending that to.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Where do we share?
- 9:46Speaker 1: I feel like we're keeping there from Why are there
- 9:47Speaker 1: two pieces of sushi in that emoji?
- 9:49Speaker 3: This is so childish and idiotic.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I know who I'm sending this to right now to
- 9:54Speaker 1: ask them if they know that.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Taco needs more to it. Also, by the way, it
- 9:58Speaker 2: looks quite blend.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Did did you know this emoji was used to symbolize
- 10:02Speaker 1: a vagina question mark?
- 10:05Speaker 4: Or never?
- 10:06Speaker 3: You know? Anyway, I'm not going there. This is childish
- 10:11Speaker 3: and purient.
- 10:12Speaker 1: You're gonna be interested to see what they say.
- 10:16Speaker 3: It is childish.
- 10:19Speaker 1: God, i'd say, yeah, we gotta get out or evolves anymore. Michael,
- 10:27Speaker 1: you join us next time for Joe Getty's tea time.
- 10:34Speaker 6: That's funny.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Well, I guess that's it. Sushi. Just Tallly broke me
