- 0:00Speaker 1: It was going on everybody, it's Romeo. Today.
- 0:02Speaker 2: We talked about graduation, high school, graduation, kindergarten, middle school.
- 0:06Speaker 1: I don't know, we talked about graduations. Let's see what
- 0:08Speaker 1: we talked about.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Well, one of my neighbors, he's a kid, he's sixteen.
- 0:13Speaker 2: I think he's sixteen or seventeen, something like that. Well,
- 0:16Speaker 2: one of his friends comes over and it's parked out
- 0:20Speaker 2: in front of his house and it's leaking something. His
- 0:23Speaker 2: car is leaking something. Now he's got an older car,
- 0:26Speaker 2: but it's leaking something. So he comes over, knocks on
- 0:28Speaker 2: the door. Hey, Roam, can you help me out? My
- 0:30Speaker 2: buddy's car's leaking. My dad's not here, you know, he.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Doesn't know what to do.
- 0:35Speaker 2: So I go out and I look at it, and
- 0:37Speaker 2: it wasn't anything too complicated. It was just he had
- 0:40Speaker 2: a hose leaking from his power steering and he goes,
- 0:47Speaker 2: I go, well, let me drive it. See what's happened.
- 0:49Speaker 2: You could tell it's making a noise of power steering.
- 0:52Speaker 2: And I go, he at your power steering it's leaking.
- 0:54Speaker 2: He's like, oh yeah, we just had that fixed. He goes,
- 0:56Speaker 2: I actually have a bottle of power steering fluid here
- 0:58Speaker 2: in my car, so we fill it up. I go,
- 1:01Speaker 2: you could probably drive it home, but I wouldn't drive
- 1:03Speaker 2: it too far right. So the funny part about it
- 1:06Speaker 2: was the he was upset, you know, he was worried
- 1:11Speaker 2: about it. He was kind of upsets his car.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Man, he's a young kid. He's that's his car.
- 1:14Speaker 2: And I was laughing, and I go, you kids don't
- 1:17Speaker 2: even understand. When we were kids, that was common. We
- 1:22Speaker 2: didn't have nice new cars like these kids get today
- 1:26Speaker 2: when they get their first car.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I said.
- 1:28Speaker 2: We all rode around me, all my friends. We either
- 1:32Speaker 2: had a had had had a quart of oil in
- 1:34Speaker 2: the car with us, or jug of water or fluid
- 1:38Speaker 2: for the for the power steering.
- 1:41Speaker 1: That was just common.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Our parents sent us out in death traps. They did
- 1:48Speaker 2: not send us out in these nice fancy cars that
- 1:51Speaker 2: had air conditioning and power steering and all these different
- 1:55Speaker 2: things that cars have, you know, a GPS and electronic
- 2:00Speaker 2: sensoring in whatever the case may be.
- 2:02Speaker 1: We never had that, you know. I remember having a car.
- 2:07Speaker 2: At one point I had to at least keep two
- 2:11Speaker 2: jugs of water with me just in case so went
- 2:15Speaker 2: overheat because the water pump wasn't working and you just.
- 2:20Speaker 1: That's what she did. I wouldn't.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I mean, it felt bad for the kid because he
- 2:25Speaker 2: was all upset his car was messed up. But I
- 2:27Speaker 2: mean it wasn't that big of a deal, to be
- 2:30Speaker 2: honest with you. It was just a host They fixed it,
- 2:34Speaker 2: but I mean it.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Was just.
- 2:36Speaker 2: It's just funny though, the seeing this play out when
- 2:40Speaker 2: that was common for us. That was no matter where
- 2:44Speaker 2: we were, no matter where we went. You know, your
- 2:46Speaker 2: dad would send you out with two quarts of oil
- 2:49Speaker 2: and say check the oil. You got to make sure
- 2:51Speaker 2: the oil. Every you know so and so checked the oil.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Make sure you got oil and it here's a couple
- 2:55Speaker 2: of courts. You just put it in when you need it,
- 2:58Speaker 2: or our steering fluid or something cool it because the
- 3:02Speaker 2: radiator leaked or something. It was always something. I mean,
- 3:08Speaker 2: you guys know what I'm talking about, right. It just
- 3:10Speaker 2: seems like back in the day, man, our parents didn't care.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I don't know if they cared. They couldn't afford I
- 3:15Speaker 2: don't know what it was, but it was no big deal.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Rolling around with power steering fluid. To put it in
- 3:21Speaker 2: your car when it needed it was not a big deal.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Already four two four or seven to seven. So we
- 3:28Speaker 2: were talking about cars. Man, back in the day, you know,
- 3:31Speaker 2: we had cars. One of the neighbor kids, his buddy's
- 3:33Speaker 2: car was having was leaking some steering power steering fluid, right,
- 3:40Speaker 2: So the kid was carrying it with him. His dad
- 3:42Speaker 2: told him to carry it with him, you know, just
- 3:44Speaker 2: in case. And so it was leaking and we ended
- 3:46Speaker 2: up So we were laughing because he was a little
- 3:49Speaker 2: upset about it, and because that's just the way it
- 3:53Speaker 2: was when we were kids, man, you always carried something
- 3:55Speaker 2: just in case.
- 3:56Speaker 1: A lot of us had cars that we had to carry.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Oil or water or some sort of fluid to put
- 4:02Speaker 2: in it if it went down, or because there was
- 4:05Speaker 2: a leak or something that, you know, and that's just
- 4:08Speaker 2: was light already. Four two four, seven to seven eight. Romeo,
- 4:13Speaker 2: it's funny that you say that. There was a time
- 4:17Speaker 2: when I was a kid when my starter didn't work.
- 4:21Speaker 2: So my dad told me just always back in or
- 4:25Speaker 2: park on a hill until we can get the money
- 4:28Speaker 2: to get you a new starter.
- 4:30Speaker 1: So every time I went somewhere, I would have to
- 4:31Speaker 1: back in.
- 4:32Speaker 2: So I could push started, or park on a hill
- 4:35Speaker 2: so I could push start.
- 4:36Speaker 1: The car. It was great. It was great. I mean
- 4:42Speaker 1: that's just what. That was life, man, that was life.
- 4:45Speaker 2: These kids today have no clue because they all want
- 4:48Speaker 2: these fancy cars that are brand new and got everything
- 4:51Speaker 2: in them, and if you break down, somebody shows up
- 4:54Speaker 2: and fix it, or they don't break down. Actually, but
- 4:58Speaker 2: that's the Back in the day, that's what you did.
- 5:01Speaker 2: You had a car that had something wrong with it,
- 5:04Speaker 2: and you, I mean, Bernie, oil was the worst. You
- 5:06Speaker 2: always used to have to drive around with a couple
- 5:08Speaker 2: of quarts of oil on you, just in case these
- 5:13Speaker 2: kids will never know.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Go ro what I mean.
- 5:17Speaker 4: So when I turned eighteen, my dad gave me a
- 5:21Speaker 4: nineteen ninety two MTV Moms.
- 5:25Speaker 5: Of Man, Yes Man.
- 5:31Speaker 6: And not have you shouldn't get the reverse.
- 5:34Speaker 7: On, so all you had was just drive and neutral.
- 5:37Speaker 1: And your dad knew this, right.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Knew that.
- 5:41Speaker 7: He used to tell me a make sure no one
- 5:44Speaker 7: portion in front of you.
- 5:46Speaker 6: You guys would have to be pushing it back.
- 5:50Speaker 7: And then he gave me a box of fuses and
- 5:54Speaker 7: he's like, I guess I heads up miss you a
- 5:59Speaker 7: few sometimes.
- 6:03Speaker 8: So let me tell you.
- 6:04Speaker 3: It was a death trap.
- 6:06Speaker 9: Help me.
- 6:07Speaker 6: One of the best cars I ever own man had
- 6:10Speaker 6: a great time to have at How awesome.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Is that that parents used to send their kids out
- 6:15Speaker 2: in straight death traps with with parts.
- 6:21Speaker 8: I didn't be like, and if you're really really in trouble,
- 6:25Speaker 8: call me.
- 6:27Speaker 3: But that's only if you're.
- 6:29Speaker 6: Really really.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I'm talking about these cars that we drove back when
- 6:35Speaker 2: we were kids with death traps. Man, we always had
- 6:37Speaker 2: to carry something with us oil, power steering fluid, water
- 6:41Speaker 2: so that wouldn't overheat. Well, one of the neighborhood kids,
- 6:44Speaker 2: his buddy's car was leaking power steering fluid, and his
- 6:47Speaker 2: dad told them they knew it, but the kid.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Kind of was freaked out about it. I was like, no, man,
- 6:52Speaker 1: that was just.
- 6:53Speaker 2: When we were your age. That was regular, common common practice.
- 6:56Speaker 2: You roll out with whatever parts you need when you're
- 7:01Speaker 2: driving your car. Our parents just sent us out in
- 7:03Speaker 2: some of the worst of the worst. They didn't care
- 7:06Speaker 2: already four two pot four seven to seven E.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Good morning Rome.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I remember my first car was a nineteen ninety Geo Storm,
- 7:14Speaker 2: ugly as hell stick shift. No one taught me how
- 7:17Speaker 2: to drive it. It's it drive it. It sat there
- 7:21Speaker 2: for months. I finally got up one day, tell myself
- 7:24Speaker 2: how to drive it. Okay, So what does that have
- 7:25Speaker 2: to do with the what we're talking about the fact
- 7:28Speaker 2: that you used to have to carry something with you,
- 7:31Speaker 2: whether it be power steering fluid or oil, or talking
- 7:34Speaker 2: about the fact that the cars we drove our first cars.
- 7:39Speaker 2: You know, I used to have to carry Blake brake
- 7:42Speaker 2: fluid with Mike because my Master cylinder was always jacked
- 7:46Speaker 2: up or something.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it was. It was good times.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Man already four two pop four or seven to seven.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Text me here, Hey, Rome. My uncle had an old bwick.
- 7:56Speaker 2: It had tags, but it had a short in the
- 7:59Speaker 2: battery post.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Wires, and he let us use it.
- 8:02Speaker 2: But if we didn't remember to take the post off
- 8:05Speaker 2: the battery, it'll die. So we had to always carry
- 8:08Speaker 2: jumper cables with us. And then I remember I was
- 8:12Speaker 2: I was at my friend's house in his insurance person
- 8:17Speaker 2: came over. Oh, his insurance person came over and parked
- 8:19Speaker 2: the and parked in the driveway.
- 8:22Speaker 1: She came out.
- 8:24Speaker 2: We heard her start her car, but she sat there
- 8:27Speaker 2: for ten minutes. She said no reverse, so she stuck.
- 8:31Speaker 2: She stuck her feet out and started to push the
- 8:34Speaker 2: car backwards. We all got in pushed her car out
- 8:38Speaker 2: of the driveway. We asked him what have and she
- 8:40Speaker 2: said the reverse never worked? So I said you, I said, why,
- 8:45Speaker 2: you just didn't park park out on the street by
- 8:48Speaker 2: the curb so you didn't have to back up, back up.
- 8:52Speaker 2: But she did what she had to do. That's pretty bunny,
- 8:59Speaker 2: that's pretty well. That's how you rolled back in the day. Man.
- 9:03Speaker 2: You you wanted a car, you didn't care what was
- 9:06Speaker 2: wrong with it. You figured out how to make it work. Man,
- 9:09Speaker 2: already four two by four or seven to seven. Hey,
- 9:12Speaker 2: row the grapevine still has the water tanks on the
- 9:15Speaker 2: side of the road if you're overheating. Any need to
- 9:16Speaker 2: add I haven't. I guess I haven't paid attention. Worrian
- 9:19Speaker 2: hot what's going on?
- 9:21Speaker 6: Throw me on? Every car that I ever owned up
- 9:23Speaker 6: until responsible adult has been a bucket.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Well, okay, I.
- 9:29Speaker 6: Remember I used to have. One of my first vehicles
- 9:31Speaker 6: was ftn.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I had one of those. Those things were.
- 9:34Speaker 10: Junk, junk.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Okay.
- 9:36Speaker 10: The driver's side door would not shut. Sometimes it was locked,
- 9:40Speaker 10: and you had to drive with your hand out the
- 9:43Speaker 10: door holding the door shut. Imagine on the freeway driving
- 9:49Speaker 10: like this, And it was and my.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Parents knew about it.
- 9:53Speaker 7: Too.
- 9:54Speaker 3: The window didn't roll down.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah, Piers didn't care.
- 9:57Speaker 6: It was a struggle, but you know, we were so
- 9:59Speaker 6: eager that one to drive that we didn't care. And
- 10:03Speaker 6: I not until I understood you get what you pay for.
- 10:06Speaker 6: Most of these cars we bought were juice vehicles. Someone
- 10:10Speaker 6: of the Alfis charms. We thought we got a good
- 10:11Speaker 6: deal for fifteen hundred dollars. Really it was.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Yeah, krisa junk absolutely.
- 10:17Speaker 6: Right now, he wants an Audi or a Range Rover.
- 10:21Speaker 6: I said, you must not want to drive. We're gonna
- 10:25Speaker 6: be We're gonna be saving for this for the rest
- 10:27Speaker 6: of your life.
- 10:28Speaker 1: You know that's hilarious.
- 10:30Speaker 6: But he's wait, and he's waiting, so we hold out
- 10:33Speaker 6: on that.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Take Yeah, riding the.
- 10:35Speaker 6: Bus, So he's right, second year of college riding the bus.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Good friend early for by four seven to seven roam.
- 10:46Speaker 1: They still have the water tanks.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Uh there am uh oh.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I'm a truck driver.
- 10:52Speaker 2: I used one like last year. My semi overheated. I
- 10:56Speaker 2: didn't know that. I remember.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I remember seeing the water.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Truck, the water tank so on the Grapevine, I don't
- 11:01Speaker 2: remember seeing anymore. Maybe because my cars don't ever heat now,
- 11:04Speaker 2: so maybe that's what it is. I will tell you
- 11:06Speaker 2: a funny story about going over the grapevine. This is
- 11:08Speaker 2: the story for those of you that don't know, and
- 11:12Speaker 2: a lot of you younger guys won't know this. The
- 11:15Speaker 2: grapevine used to be a conversation when you were traveling
- 11:21Speaker 2: from up north and coming down to La. The grapevine
- 11:25Speaker 2: was a conversation about Okay, are we gonna make it over?
- 11:30Speaker 2: Or is the car gonna go over heat? It wasn't
- 11:32Speaker 2: as easy as it is today now. Maybe for you
- 11:35Speaker 2: folks in Bakersfield it was always easy, but it was not.
- 11:39Speaker 2: I remember a buddy of mine, he owned You guys
- 11:43Speaker 2: don't even know what a you go is?
- 11:46Speaker 1: Look it up, Google it you go.
- 11:48Speaker 2: He had a you go and we were having the
- 11:51Speaker 2: conversation as we were coming through Bakersfield, are we gonna
- 11:55Speaker 2: make it over the grapevine?
- 11:56Speaker 1: In this thing? Is it gonna overheat?
- 11:59Speaker 2: I mean you, it was literally a couple of rubber
- 12:02Speaker 2: bands and you wound it up and it went. We
- 12:05Speaker 2: made it over, though I think we did have to
- 12:07Speaker 2: stop for water. Though I think that did happen. Graduation day, right,
- 12:11Speaker 2: A lot of high schools are graduating today. I actually
- 12:14Speaker 2: went to a graduation last night over at Ridgeview High
- 12:17Speaker 2: and man, a bunch of champs. But what would you
- 12:21Speaker 2: it rained? The rain came down. It wasn't too bad.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I guess it's supposed to rain tonight for graduations as well.
- 12:28Speaker 2: But it rained a little bit, not too bad. But man,
- 12:33Speaker 2: what are you gonna do?
- 12:34Speaker 7: Right?
- 12:34Speaker 2: You're graduating. You only get to graduate high school once.
- 12:37Speaker 1: You're gonna do it rain, shine, sleet, snow.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Whatever the case may be, right, you and your you
- 12:43Speaker 2: and your family are gonna want to do with the ceremonies,
- 12:45Speaker 2: celebrate and have a good time.
- 12:46Speaker 1: And it looked like everybody had a good time. It
- 12:48Speaker 1: was a nice.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Graduation, to be honest with you. But I do I
- 12:51Speaker 2: have some questions about graduations. A couple of things are
- 12:56Speaker 2: why did they start so late? Why aren't we starting
- 12:59Speaker 2: graduates if you're gonna do it, and why are you
- 13:01Speaker 2: doing it on Thursday?
- 13:02Speaker 1: Does anybody have these answers? I don't.
- 13:06Speaker 2: I want to say when I graduated high school it
- 13:08Speaker 2: was on Friday night, if I if I'm correct, it's
- 13:11Speaker 2: a little fussy. I can't remember it, but uh, I
- 13:16Speaker 2: want to say it was a Friday. Actually, that's notun try.
- 13:18Speaker 2: I remember what happened, I just don't remember the day.
- 13:21Speaker 2: I want to say it was a Why are you
- 13:23Speaker 2: not having graduations either Friday about five or six, probably
- 13:29Speaker 2: five's probably the best, or Saturday mornings? Why did they
- 13:33Speaker 2: do it on Thursdays? That makes no sense to me? Whatsoever?
- 13:37Speaker 2: And why are you doing it at seven o'clock or
- 13:39Speaker 2: seven thirty? I think the one I started was seven
- 13:42Speaker 2: thirty last night at Ridgeview. What why at seven thirty
- 13:48Speaker 2: or seven o'clock? Why why aren't you starting at five?
- 13:54Speaker 2: Five o'clock's on a Friday? And it's perfect that it's
- 14:01Speaker 2: perfect because Friday you can get it a couple of hours.
- 14:04Speaker 2: What's the graduation take two hours? Maybe you get it
- 14:07Speaker 2: done in two hours. By seven, you and your family
- 14:10Speaker 2: can go out and have dinner, maybe have a little
- 14:12Speaker 2: get together at the house, and then the kids can
- 14:15Speaker 2: go out and graduates can go hang out with their
- 14:18Speaker 2: their friends and enjoy their their graduation night.
- 14:22Speaker 1: I don't understand.
- 14:23Speaker 2: I don't understand who's uh, I don't understand who's planning
- 14:26Speaker 2: this nonsense? I mean, do you want I'll help you,
- 14:30Speaker 2: guys plan a structure that benefits everybody when it comes
- 14:34Speaker 2: to these graduations, so you don't inconvenience anyone already four two, five,
- 14:39Speaker 2: four or seven to seven. The other thing that came
- 14:41Speaker 2: up is, you know this graduation at I was at
- 14:45Speaker 2: last night wasn't over till after nine o'clock. How are
- 14:51Speaker 2: you supposed to go with something to eat aftern And
- 14:54Speaker 2: that's the other thing. The restaurants. There was only two
- 14:57Speaker 2: restaurants that I know of that are open, uh after
- 15:03Speaker 2: nine o'clock where you can get some good food. Where
- 15:07Speaker 2: are people supposed to go? So you're limiting I just
- 15:11Speaker 2: don't know. I don't understand it. So like last night,
- 15:16Speaker 2: Luckily you know Saunders and Social House posts stay open
- 15:22Speaker 2: and uh so if you're looking for I'm gonna I'm
- 15:24Speaker 2: just gonna help you out right now. If you guys
- 15:25Speaker 2: are looking for someplace to go tonight after a graduation,
- 15:29Speaker 2: Social House, Oh's kitchen stays open to ten and Saunder's
- 15:33Speaker 2: Kitchen will stay open after that. I don't know where
- 15:37Speaker 2: else you could go where you could have a good meal,
- 15:41Speaker 2: nice atmosphere and enjoy the fact that your child just
- 15:44Speaker 2: graduated high school with your friends and your family.
- 15:48Speaker 1: So it just makes no sense to me.
- 15:52Speaker 2: I don't know who's planning these deals, but to me,
- 15:57Speaker 2: there's a more efficient way to do it for the
- 16:00Speaker 2: kids and their families, so everybody can get them get
- 16:02Speaker 2: what they want. You know what I'm saying now, I
- 16:04Speaker 2: don't know what's going to happen tonight. It's going to rain,
- 16:06Speaker 2: I guess tonight. So I don't know what the contingency
- 16:09Speaker 2: plans are for some of these high schools.
- 16:11Speaker 1: But last night wasn't bad. At Ridgeview. It rained, it
- 16:14Speaker 1: was still, it was still night.
- 16:15Speaker 2: It got a little cold, little windy, but it was
- 16:17Speaker 2: all right, take your jacket, take your umbrella. You'll be
- 16:19Speaker 2: just fine, all right. I don't think they should regardless
- 16:24Speaker 2: of the weather. I don't think they should they should
- 16:29Speaker 2: shorten it. I don't think they should do anything to
- 16:31Speaker 2: take away from these graduates because they worked hard. These
- 16:34Speaker 2: kids worked hard to get out of high school, just
- 16:35Speaker 2: like all of us worked hard, and how we felt
- 16:38Speaker 2: when we graduated high school. So we'll see what happens.
- 16:42Speaker 2: But I'm just gonna tell you, guys want to go
- 16:44Speaker 2: out and eat after graduation tonight. Saunder's going to be
- 16:47Speaker 2: open and so a social house. I know both those places.
- 16:50Speaker 2: I've talked to both the owners, so I know that
- 16:52Speaker 2: they will be open for you guys to go eat
- 16:55Speaker 2: after you get out of graduation. I mean, it just
- 16:59Speaker 2: it's I never realized how many restaurants and bakers fell
- 17:04Speaker 2: close at nine o'clock.
- 17:06Speaker 1: That seems so early to me. But yeah, I guess,
- 17:09Speaker 1: I guess. I guess it's not huh, hey.
- 17:12Speaker 3: What's up room in Broll. You ain't lying, dude. The
- 17:15Speaker 3: way they do these things, I don't understand who's planning
- 17:18Speaker 3: all this, Like, you know, the late night letting them
- 17:20Speaker 3: everybody my girls graduated for Front Tier. Dude, we weren't
- 17:24Speaker 3: getting back to my house. You know, I live right
- 17:26Speaker 3: down the street.
- 17:27Speaker 5: Yeah, and I'm getting back to my house at ten
- 17:29Speaker 5: ten thirty because you know, the kids want to take
- 17:30Speaker 5: pictures after they graduate. Yeah, but you know, you got
- 17:33Speaker 5: two different families, and you got everybodys grandma at the time,
- 17:37Speaker 5: you know what I mean, just to fight one of
- 17:38Speaker 5: their friends, it takes them like ten minutes room because
- 17:40Speaker 5: there's so many people walk, you know what I mean.
- 17:42Speaker 5: So I really hope somebody that's listening as a part
- 17:46Speaker 5: of this will make it better, hopefully next year for
- 17:48Speaker 5: these kids, because dude, they just graduated. They don't want
- 17:51Speaker 5: to go home and go straight to bed.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Exactly, why do you want to go have dinner with
- 17:54Speaker 2: your family? You want to enjoy a little bit. And
- 17:57Speaker 2: sometimes the kids still want to hang out afterwards.
- 17:59Speaker 1: And yeah, it's crazy.
- 18:01Speaker 3: My last daughter graduated.
- 18:02Speaker 11: Room.
- 18:02Speaker 3: They were asked over. The parents were asking, hey, well
- 18:04Speaker 3: are you guys going to go eat?
- 18:05Speaker 7: I go?
- 18:05Speaker 3: I got beaty cooking at the house. I said, I
- 18:07Speaker 3: let it off, you know what I mean, there was
- 18:10Speaker 3: nowhere to go really roam.
- 18:11Speaker 5: And if you do go to a couple of places
- 18:13Speaker 5: that are open, yeah, you're gonna be waiting, you know,
- 18:15Speaker 5: closing time to get your get.
- 18:17Speaker 3: In and there's so many people there.
- 18:19Speaker 5: So yeah, I really hope they they they you know,
- 18:21Speaker 5: I mean, they.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Will never change. These idiots don't know what they're doing.
- 18:26Speaker 3: It's a control of my way, you know.
- 18:29Speaker 2: All right?
- 18:29Speaker 5: Really man?
- 18:33Speaker 1: Uh yeah.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Apparently a guy said, I graduated twenty years ago. And
- 18:37Speaker 2: then it was on a Thursday. We did five pm BC.
- 18:41Speaker 2: We had over five undergraduates at VHS and still ended.
- 18:45Speaker 1: At nine ersh five pm. Still got over at nine.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Wow.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Interesting?
- 18:53Speaker 2: Uh yeah, I mean seven is just too late. It's
- 18:56Speaker 2: too late, you can't go out and enjoy the rest
- 18:59Speaker 2: of your night. Why why would you do that?
- 19:02Speaker 1: I mean third? How long have they been doing it
- 19:05Speaker 1: on Thursdays? All right?
- 19:07Speaker 2: Eight four two, five, four, seven to seven. Let's talk
- 19:10Speaker 2: about graduation night? How was that a graduation yesterday? And
- 19:14Speaker 2: it was a nice graduation, but just so late you
- 19:16Speaker 2: can't get any you know, it ended at nine o'clock,
- 19:19Speaker 2: it still wasn't over, and you can't go out and eat.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I want to go out and have something to eat
- 19:25Speaker 1: with everybody. But where do you go? There's only two.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Places in town, I mean a Saunders and Social House.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Only two good places in town to eat after nine o'clock?
- 19:33Speaker 2: Where else are you gonna go? That's open BJ's. Maybe
- 19:36Speaker 2: BJ's is decent, it's not bad. BJ's all right, got
- 19:39Speaker 2: a good food, so but they're limited.
- 19:43Speaker 1: What are you supposed to who's planning this?
- 19:47Speaker 2: A graduation should start and it really shouldn't be on
- 19:50Speaker 2: a Thursday. Should be on a Friday, you know, it
- 19:53Speaker 2: should be Friday at five or Saturday at ten already
- 19:58Speaker 2: four two, five, four, seven to seven.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Maybe they do Thursday.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Because of grad night, either Disneyland or six Flags. Well,
- 20:09Speaker 2: is that when grad night is is grad night on Friday.
- 20:12Speaker 2: I know kids that went to grad night last night
- 20:14Speaker 2: to Universal Studios.
- 20:16Speaker 1: So maybe maybe you're right. I don't know. I don't
- 20:19Speaker 1: have the information. I don't That's why I'm asking the question.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Rome.
- 20:23Speaker 2: It's because multiple schools graduate, so they have them on
- 20:27Speaker 2: different days before the weekend, so that way families can
- 20:31Speaker 2: have parties on the weekend. People don't celebrate right afterwards
- 20:34Speaker 2: because again they'll have parties the following weekend. Well, no,
- 20:38Speaker 2: you don't at least go out to dinner after graduation.
- 20:42Speaker 2: I mean, you got all your friends and family together,
- 20:46Speaker 2: you don't go out to dinner. You can't because everything's closed.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I mean that makes I guess. But if you're gonna
- 20:55Speaker 2: have a party on why not do it Saturday morning?
- 20:57Speaker 2: Or why not do it Friday night?
- 21:00Speaker 1: Why not do it?
- 21:01Speaker 2: The perfect graduation is Friday at five, You're done by seven,
- 21:05Speaker 2: seven thirty, you have your party, you go out to dinner,
- 21:09Speaker 2: the kids can go hang out with their friends afterwards.
- 21:12Speaker 2: I mean, that's the perfect time to do it. Or
- 21:15Speaker 2: Saturday at ten ten am. You're done by noon. You
- 21:19Speaker 2: can have your your lunch, your brunch, your barbecue or whatever.
- 21:24Speaker 2: So what you're saying doesn't make a whole lot of sense,
- 21:27Speaker 2: and is the reason people don't go out is because
- 21:29Speaker 2: there's nowhere to go.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I don't know. Ay, good morning, Romeo.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Past years and Delano graduation times got moved till got
- 21:41Speaker 2: moved till eight thirty pm due to the heat, and
- 21:46Speaker 2: it's looking the same for this year. Next week's going
- 21:48Speaker 2: to be a hot one. Well, Delano graduates next week
- 21:52Speaker 2: because tonight it's going to be cold and rainy.
- 21:55Speaker 1: So I don't know.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I guess it just makes it Thursday is not the day,
- 22:02Speaker 2: Friday maybe Saturday morning. I mean, it's not efficient. You're know,
- 22:08Speaker 2: it's just not efficient for families to go out. Who
- 22:12Speaker 2: doesn't go out to who doesn't go out to eat?
- 22:13Speaker 2: After graduation? You're celebrating alright already for two, five.
- 22:22Speaker 11: Four or seven to seven Professor day from the Vegasfield
- 22:26Speaker 11: City School District. And I can explain a little more
- 22:28Speaker 11: in detail about our scheduling. Okay, when we are scheduling this,
- 22:34Speaker 11: we are not worried about what gardeners are doing or
- 22:36Speaker 11: radio hosts. We're on teacher time.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Okay, that's probably true.
- 22:42Speaker 11: We're on teacher time. Let me do this on Thursday
- 22:44Speaker 11: because Friday we want to get out of here early too.
- 22:48Speaker 11: We do not care what you guys are eating. We
- 22:51Speaker 11: have lives too. Consider that, Romeo, don't be throwing shade
- 22:55Speaker 11: on my teachers.
- 22:57Speaker 10: You got that?
- 22:58Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 23:00Speaker 2: Oh that that might actually be the real truth on
- 23:03Speaker 2: why they don't hold it on Fridays, because these damn
- 23:06Speaker 2: teachers are so damn lazy they want to get out
- 23:08Speaker 2: on school on Friday. I mean, all right, eight four
- 23:12Speaker 2: two bob four or seven to seven a room. We
- 23:15Speaker 2: didn't Oh, oh, I forgot big boys kid graduated. We
- 23:18Speaker 2: didn't leave Robo Biken till nine forty five last night,
- 23:22Speaker 2: nine forty five Dignity Health Arena on a Thursday, which
- 23:29Speaker 2: means it had to start. What seven seven thirty is
- 23:31Speaker 2: probably when that graduation started.
- 23:33Speaker 1: What is wrong with you people? I don't get it.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I'm what am I missing? It's probably, uh, it's probably right.
- 23:40Speaker 2: It's probably because the teachers don't want to have to
- 23:42Speaker 2: work on Friday because they're all trying to get out
- 23:44Speaker 2: early because school gets out early tomorrow, right for all
- 23:46Speaker 2: the for the non seniors.
- 23:49Speaker 1: That's probably why I just.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Don't It makes no sense whatsoever. And then when you
- 23:55Speaker 2: where you supposed to eat at. You know, I mean,
- 23:58Speaker 2: what you want to go out, I'm not supposed to
- 24:00Speaker 2: go out after graduation.
- 24:01Speaker 1: You can't because it's way too late.
- 24:03Speaker 2: All right, So graduations are here, we're gonna talk a
- 24:05Speaker 2: little about them. I'm still trying to get to the
- 24:07Speaker 2: bottom of why they do it so inefficiently for families
- 24:13Speaker 2: and kids. I mean, it's just not a good deal
- 24:16Speaker 2: to do it on a Thursday night.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I went to one.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I went to Redgew's last night, which was very nice actually,
- 24:21Speaker 2: but it was on a Wednesday at seven point thirty.
- 24:26Speaker 2: You know, my buddy said he got out of his
- 24:28Speaker 2: kids graduation nine forty five. I mean, that doesn't seem
- 24:31Speaker 2: a little unreasonable when there's a better way to do it.
- 24:37Speaker 2: I mean, this is I want to say. When I
- 24:39Speaker 2: graduated high school, it was on a Friday, and I
- 24:45Speaker 2: think it was around five o'clock. I remember by the
- 24:48Speaker 2: time it was done, my parents, my grandparents, we all
- 24:53Speaker 2: went out to dinner after the graduation, and then me
- 24:59Speaker 2: and my friends out after that.
- 25:01Speaker 1: And you know they have graduation parties. Do you guys
- 25:03Speaker 1: still have graduation parties?
- 25:05Speaker 2: By the way, I mean, we had a couple of
- 25:07Speaker 2: graduation parties that me and my friends went.
- 25:09Speaker 1: To, and that was the night. But what what do
- 25:15Speaker 1: they do? When did they move it to Thursday?
- 25:19Speaker 2: That may our Wednesday, which is not even a bad
- 25:22Speaker 2: that's not even the day of the week, is not
- 25:24Speaker 2: even the bad thing.
- 25:26Speaker 1: It's the time.
- 25:30Speaker 2: How can you And I know people will say, Rome,
- 25:32Speaker 2: they don't you know. Some of the people will say, well, Rome,
- 25:34Speaker 2: you're not supposed to go out after graduation. You're supposed
- 25:37Speaker 2: to go home and have a party over the No,
- 25:41Speaker 2: it's fine if you have a party over the weekend,
- 25:44Speaker 2: but you're celebrating the night. Am I the only one
- 25:50Speaker 2: that understands this. Okay, you haven't graduate, Well we'll just celebrate.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Who know, tonight's the night, today's the day you graduated. Okay,
- 26:01Speaker 2: we just went through this big ceremony. You just spent
- 26:04Speaker 2: four years in high school. This is the biggest day
- 26:07Speaker 2: of your life up to this point, and we're gonna
- 26:13Speaker 2: celebrate two days later, have a party. Two Well, yeah, no,
- 26:18Speaker 2: you have all your friends and family, everybody's excited.
- 26:21Speaker 1: You're in the moment, and.
- 26:26Speaker 2: We're just gonna wait for two days to say, oh,
- 26:28Speaker 2: we'll just have a party on the weekend. No could
- 26:31Speaker 2: at least go out to dinner afterwards, at least go
- 26:35Speaker 2: you know, celebrate. Do you guys not understand the concept
- 26:41Speaker 2: of being in the moment of everything, And then because
- 26:45Speaker 2: of the way the school does it, you just everybody
- 26:47Speaker 2: goes home. And be honest, graduations are exciting for about
- 26:55Speaker 2: ten seconds. The most exciting part of a graduation, and
- 27:00Speaker 2: for you or me or is not listening to everybody talk.
- 27:06Speaker 2: That's the ceremony. That's not the best part of it.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Unless you got some great speaker that it's fun. I
- 27:10Speaker 2: mean last night, the kids actually did a good job
- 27:13Speaker 2: at speaking, and the principal did a really good job
- 27:16Speaker 2: at speaking and very.
- 27:19Speaker 1: But that's not really the best part.
- 27:22Speaker 2: The most exciting part of a graduation is walking your
- 27:25Speaker 2: is watching your kid walk in and watching your kid
- 27:30Speaker 2: get there to pull them on walk across that stage.
- 27:33Speaker 2: That is maybe a minute of time and you're sitting
- 27:39Speaker 2: there for two and a half hours. So now everybody's
- 27:47Speaker 2: just going to go home afterwards. No, you want to
- 27:52Speaker 2: go out, you want to have some dinner, you want
- 27:54Speaker 2: to talk about and celebrate and be in the moment.
- 28:01Speaker 2: I don't know, they should let me plan graduations. The
- 28:06Speaker 2: high schools should let me plan them. I would make
- 28:09Speaker 2: them perfect for everybody. So it's graduation season and we're
- 28:13Speaker 2: going through graduations right now. Hey, UF and Chiefs Fan,
- 28:16Speaker 2: Why are you being grumpy of the time when people graduate?
- 28:19Speaker 2: It's only one time of the year. I'm not being grumpy.
- 28:23Speaker 2: What are you talking about. I'm just talking about making
- 28:25Speaker 2: it more efficient for everybody to enjoy it long.
- 28:27Speaker 1: What the hell are you talking about.
- 28:30Speaker 2: I'm trying to make it better for everybody so they
- 28:33Speaker 2: can go out and enjoy the heat of the moment
- 28:36Speaker 2: and enjoy the fact that they just graduated, instead of
- 28:39Speaker 2: making it so late that everybody has to just go home.
- 28:42Speaker 1: And it's not about what the hell are you talking about,
- 28:45Speaker 1: you moron, It's not at all what I'm talking about.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Obviously, you need to listen to somebody else because your
- 28:50Speaker 2: dumb ass has no understanding of what I'm talking about.
- 28:53Speaker 2: I'm trying to make it better for everybody so that
- 28:56Speaker 2: when the kid graduates from high school, he doesn't just
- 28:59Speaker 2: have to go home afterwards because one every place is
- 29:02Speaker 2: closed in town, so you can't go out have a
- 29:04Speaker 2: decent kneal with your friends and your family and or
- 29:09Speaker 2: your family and enjoy the moment. What really happens. Look
- 29:17Speaker 2: at what really happens at graduation. Afterwards, everybody goes and
- 29:22Speaker 2: says hi to each other, You take a few photos,
- 29:25Speaker 2: and then you get.
- 29:27Speaker 1: In the car with your parents and go home.
- 29:30Speaker 2: You just accomplish the biggest, the biggest thing you're going
- 29:33Speaker 2: to accomplish at this point in your life, and everybody
- 29:37Speaker 2: just goes their separate ways after a two and a
- 29:39Speaker 2: half hour sitting there. You don't have no time for
- 29:42Speaker 2: you guys as a family to go and do something,
- 29:48Speaker 2: have dinner, anything. I mean, you don't even really can't
- 29:54Speaker 2: even really go back to the house because it's nine
- 29:57Speaker 2: thirty at night. It's ten o'clock at night time you
- 30:00Speaker 2: get there, So I don't know what the hell you're
- 30:02Speaker 2: talking about.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I'm trying to make.
- 30:03Speaker 2: It better for everybody so that you can have your graduation,
- 30:08Speaker 2: have your moment, take all your pictures, and then still
- 30:12Speaker 2: go spend an intimate moment with your parents and your
- 30:16Speaker 2: grandparents and your siblings and enjoy.
- 30:23Speaker 1: The rest of the night. Hey, room, do you.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Know how hard is to find a place to have
- 30:29Speaker 2: dinner with the family after graduation, especially with so many
- 30:32Speaker 2: schools I do, and the schools is not as bad
- 30:37Speaker 2: as the fact that it's.
- 30:41Speaker 1: It's so late.
- 30:45Speaker 2: I only found two places yesterday, Social House and Saunders
- 30:52Speaker 2: that are going to be open, hopefully by the time
- 30:54Speaker 2: you get out of graduation with enough time to just
- 30:56Speaker 2: go have a meal already four two four seven seven, Hey,
- 31:01Speaker 2: goring to Romeo. My daughters eighth grade graduation is at
- 31:05Speaker 2: eight am, and we have to be there at seven am.
- 31:08Speaker 2: We cannot bring flowers, garlands, balloons or anything inside the
- 31:12Speaker 2: stadium because it's a distraction. They don't have a cap
- 31:17Speaker 2: or gown by far the worst graduation. I know it's
- 31:22Speaker 2: just eighth grade, but still I don't feel like she
- 31:24Speaker 2: gets to experience what it used to be.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Why is there no cap and gown eighth grade?
- 31:34Speaker 2: I mean I would graduation morning. Graduations are fine too,
- 31:38Speaker 2: you know. I know that's but that's kind of weird.
- 31:40Speaker 2: I did see they didn't allow balloons in oh because well,
- 31:45Speaker 2: let's be honest, and I feel I don't understand the
- 31:49Speaker 2: cap and gown thing, but I will say this about
- 31:53Speaker 2: balloons or pictures. I do like the idea that they're
- 31:56Speaker 2: asking parents to not I think I think ridgie. It
- 32:00Speaker 2: was taking professional pictures last night, so the parents really
- 32:02Speaker 2: didn't have to get up. It was a it was
- 32:04Speaker 2: a better shot, a better picture than you're gonna get
- 32:06Speaker 2: from the stands anyways, or from the side of the
- 32:09Speaker 2: you know, from the side of the football field. So
- 32:12Speaker 2: I don't think there's anything wrong with that. You can
- 32:14Speaker 2: get your photos with your graduate after the ceremony, so
- 32:17Speaker 2: you're not inconveniencing everybody else, And so I do agree
- 32:22Speaker 2: with that. Now, balloons do get in the way because
- 32:24Speaker 2: you buy those balloons, that helium balloons, and they do
- 32:29Speaker 2: block people's sites, and that's not fair. There's people are
- 32:32Speaker 2: so disrespectful nowadays to each other that you know, your
- 32:35Speaker 2: kids more important. Why is your kid more important than
- 32:38Speaker 2: the people behind you, you know, than their kid.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Is to them. So I do get that, But.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Why no flowers or garlands? I don't get that. That
- 32:48Speaker 2: I don't get that's kind of weird. That's a little weird.
- 32:52Speaker 1: I mean I do. I do think though, why no
- 32:58Speaker 1: cap'n gowns.
- 33:00Speaker 2: It's kind of a strange thing any way, And it's
- 33:03Speaker 2: not only an eighth grade graduation. Every somebody just text
- 33:07Speaker 2: him and said, well, roam what do you think about
- 33:09Speaker 2: these kids that graduate from kindergarten or graduate sixth grade
- 33:13Speaker 2: or graduate. I think every graduation is important. And the
- 33:19Speaker 2: reason I say that is that is the most in uh,
- 33:25Speaker 2: that is the most important time of their lives up
- 33:30Speaker 2: to this point in their lives. For a kindergarten For
- 33:32Speaker 2: a kindergartener, graduating kindergarten and going to first grade, to him,
- 33:37Speaker 2: that's the biggest step in his life.
- 33:39Speaker 1: From a sixth.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Grader going to junior high that's the biggest step of
- 33:43Speaker 2: their life at this point. From an eighth grader going
- 33:46Speaker 2: to high school, that's the biggest step of their life
- 33:49Speaker 2: at that point. Moving forward, now they may accomplish something
- 33:53Speaker 2: that's so much far more important and so much more
- 33:56Speaker 2: meaningful than that eighth grade graduation in ret respect, But
- 34:01Speaker 2: to this point in their lives, it's the biggest day
- 34:03Speaker 2: of their lives. So celebrate it. Don't be a jerk
- 34:05Speaker 2: about it. Hey, good morning, Romeo. Just want to let
- 34:08Speaker 2: you know they do those graduations so late because the
- 34:12Speaker 2: teachers want to hit that PTO before the school ends.
- 34:15Speaker 2: What is uh? What is PTO? I don't I don't
- 34:19Speaker 2: know what PTO is. That something must be what is
- 34:21Speaker 2: that like overtime or something? Did they get paid overtime
- 34:24Speaker 2: for graduations?
- 34:26Speaker 7: Uh?
- 34:28Speaker 1: Maybe? Yeah, I don't know.
- 34:30Speaker 2: I it's gotta have to it's it's gotta do something
- 34:34Speaker 2: with these.
- 34:35Speaker 6: Uh.
- 34:36Speaker 2: I'm gonna guess, and I'm just gonna guess, and I
- 34:39Speaker 2: don't know for sure unless some of you know. I
- 34:41Speaker 2: think that the reason these graduations are the way that
- 34:44Speaker 2: they are because it benefits the teachers and the district
- 34:49Speaker 2: more so than the parents and the kids. I think
- 34:52Speaker 2: the graduations which should be for the parents, the family
- 34:56Speaker 2: and the kids, which they make it so uh inconvenient
- 35:03Speaker 2: that I think.
- 35:03Speaker 1: It's because of the teachers.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I think it's either the teachers or the district or
- 35:07Speaker 2: the higher ups. They do it because it's more convenient
- 35:10Speaker 2: for them than it is for the family and the students.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Which I mean, that's I can't see any I just
- 35:19Speaker 2: can't see any other reason why they do it the
- 35:21Speaker 2: way that they do it.
- 35:22Speaker 1: It makes no sense to me already four two or
- 35:25Speaker 1: seven to seven.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Hey, what's up wrong? You know, I'm gonna tell you
- 35:30Speaker 3: what else about me wrong? You know, I know a
- 35:31Speaker 3: lot of people, don't you know, are not thinking about this,
- 35:33Speaker 3: But you know, like my daughter's graduating in sixth grade
- 35:36Speaker 3: and she's one of the callers of COVID baby you know,
- 35:39Speaker 3: when she was in kindergarten, that's when they stop the school.
- 35:43Speaker 3: So I was hoping they would do something cool for
- 35:45Speaker 3: the sixth graders since they went through all that as kindergartens.
- 35:48Speaker 3: But nah, it was too much under schedule to do that,
- 35:52Speaker 3: to do what to uh like a little ceremony, little
- 35:55Speaker 3: graduation for them, you know, I mean something special because
- 35:58Speaker 3: you know, kindergarten when they graduated saw cool. You know,
- 36:01Speaker 3: they do that little graduation ceremony and they didn't get
- 36:03Speaker 3: to do it because they went online, you know, halfway
- 36:06Speaker 3: through you know, kindergarten. But you know, shout out to
- 36:10Speaker 3: my baby Groves, you know.
- 36:11Speaker 1: One that was six years ago.
- 36:14Speaker 3: Yeah, but you know what I mean. I just thought
- 36:15Speaker 3: they wouldn't have to bring it up. Just do something
- 36:17Speaker 3: special for them, you know what I mean.
- 36:18Speaker 1: No, I have no idea what you're talking about right now.
- 36:20Speaker 3: I want to see I'm a little captain. Yeah, i'
- 36:22Speaker 3: rome because we graduated elementary, I graduated kindergarten, I graduated
- 36:26Speaker 3: sixth grade, I graduated eighth grade.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Oh, they didn't graduate sixth grade for your kids.
- 36:30Speaker 3: No, they didn't do No, that's what I'm saying. Like
- 36:32Speaker 3: I was with a hope that at least did something
- 36:34Speaker 3: for them, you know what I mean. But you know
- 36:36Speaker 3: it's a good thing. My daughter's you know, straight a students.
- 36:38Speaker 3: She's a bankwet and all that.
- 36:40Speaker 2: You calm down, calm down, you gotta go alright, get
- 36:43Speaker 2: out of here already fourteen four, seven and seven, Hey
- 36:46Speaker 2: roam pto paid time off?
- 36:49Speaker 1: Well maybe, hey man.
- 36:50Speaker 3: I think you're right.
- 36:52Speaker 12: This could be like one of the most important mildstones
- 36:55Speaker 12: of a lot of kids is life. So I feel
- 37:00Speaker 12: like a lot of people should embrace it, especially the
- 37:03Speaker 12: parents and before it, you know what I mean.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I do know what you mean.
- 37:09Speaker 12: Yeah, because when I got my diploma, they came in
- 37:13Speaker 12: the mail man and.
- 37:14Speaker 6: You know, I got it.
- 37:18Speaker 12: But I was like, damn, I wish I would across
- 37:20Speaker 12: the stage.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Oh you didn't walk across the stage. Oh no, yeah,
- 37:23Speaker 1: bad behavior?
- 37:24Speaker 12: That behavior, Okay, it was bad behavior, nothing else, okay.
- 37:32Speaker 1: All right, already four two four or seven to seven.
- 37:37Speaker 1: I just think.
- 37:41Speaker 2: I just I just think that there there's an importance
- 37:46Speaker 2: and I know if you don't agree with me, You're
- 37:50Speaker 2: an idiot. There's an importance to after this moment of
- 37:54Speaker 2: graduation that you should spend some time with your family
- 37:59Speaker 2: in the immediate moment of it all, more more so
- 38:03Speaker 2: than a picture on the field. And everybody goes home
- 38:08Speaker 2: and we'll see each other on Saturday for the big party.
- 38:11Speaker 1: It's not the same. The party's great, but it's not
- 38:18Speaker 1: the same.
- 38:19Speaker 2: You're out of the moment, You're out of the adrenaline
- 38:22Speaker 2: rush of graduation.
- 38:26Speaker 1: It's just I don't know, I don't know. Come on
- 38:28Speaker 1: you how it's going on.
- 38:30Speaker 11: Yeah, there's a professor Dave again.
- 38:32Speaker 6: And like I said, we do not give a crap
- 38:34Speaker 6: about the parents feelings to swear on teacher time here.
- 38:38Speaker 6: And you have to understand the availability. Okay, all my
- 38:42Speaker 6: teachers are already here at school. Why not get it
- 38:45Speaker 6: done a little bit of overtime? And you got to
- 38:47Speaker 6: think about this. We can't have them come in early
- 38:49Speaker 6: because school is still going on, so it has to
- 38:51Speaker 6: be after school, after everything.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Okay, all right, you know?
- 38:56Speaker 6: And and on another hand, we throw away too much
- 38:59Speaker 6: money and public schools to be donating to Romeo to
- 39:02Speaker 6: have me come and figure this out for us. I'm sorry, sir.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Well, I actually know that I'm smarter than all of
- 39:09Speaker 2: you anyways, So that's why you don't want me to
- 39:11Speaker 2: figure it out, because I'm smarter than you anyways.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Hey, Rome, would you send me here?
- 39:16Speaker 2: If your mother or father and your son, daughter daughter's
- 39:19Speaker 2: graduation doesn't matter what time it is they should be
- 39:23Speaker 2: going or quit? Wait what if your mother or father
- 39:28Speaker 2: and your son or daughter's graduation doesn't matter what time
- 39:31Speaker 2: it is they should be going. That's not the point
- 39:35Speaker 2: of the conversation. You guys are stupid. The point of
- 39:39Speaker 2: the conversation is that they're doing it too late. Everybody's
- 39:44Speaker 2: gonna go. But if you go to a graduation at
- 39:50Speaker 2: seven o'clock at night or set like my boy, big Boy,
- 39:54Speaker 2: he said he got out of graduation at nine forty five,
- 39:58Speaker 2: And I'm just gonna use him as an example. His
- 40:03Speaker 2: daughter's graduation got out of nine to forty five last night.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Big boy is a big family guy. I'm sure her
- 40:11Speaker 2: all her siblings were there. I'm sure his parents were there,
- 40:16Speaker 2: and one of the best things to do, and I'm
- 40:19Speaker 2: sure they're going to have a party this weekend for her.
- 40:23Speaker 2: But one of the one of the things that means
- 40:27Speaker 2: the most to that family is having a meal together.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Would have been big boy taking his whole family out
- 40:36Speaker 2: to dinner after a graduation, but you can't do it
- 40:38Speaker 2: at nine forty five, so everybody just went home. The
- 40:44Speaker 2: rush of graduation is a rush. It's very exciting for
- 40:49Speaker 2: high school kids. When they graduate, it's the biggest accomplishment
- 40:53Speaker 2: of their life. And because of the time frame in
- 40:57Speaker 2: which you do it, you don't allow these kids and
- 41:01Speaker 2: their family to enjoy it.
- 41:04Speaker 1: It's rushed.
- 41:06Speaker 2: And you don't have time to go sit down afterwards,
- 41:11Speaker 2: have a meal, let everybody talk about their stories and
- 41:15Speaker 2: be caught up in a moment that is one of
- 41:17Speaker 2: the most meaningful moments of.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Your child's life and your family's life.
- 41:22Speaker 2: To be honest with you, because they were your mom
- 41:23Speaker 2: and dad, your guardians, whoever they were just as much
- 41:26Speaker 2: a part of it. Have it at five o'clock so
- 41:31Speaker 2: that by seven point thirty, if you're out, you can
- 41:35Speaker 2: go have a nice meal. You can sit down and enjoy.
- 41:38Speaker 2: You can sit down and enjoy the moment that just happened.
- 41:43Speaker 9: Okay, I just wanted to say that I did I
- 41:46Speaker 9: read oh nine.
- 41:48Speaker 3: But.
- 41:50Speaker 9: We didn't do anything, and I was just talking about
- 41:52Speaker 9: that to my daughter, like, do you want to make
- 41:55Speaker 9: sure you know everyone's there, we take pictures, we go
- 41:58Speaker 9: out to dinner, do something.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Well, yeah, because that's the moment. The moment is not
- 42:03Speaker 2: on Saturday when oh, we're having a barbecue for you.
- 42:06Speaker 2: The moment and the adrenaline is the night you walk
- 42:09Speaker 2: across that stage or the day you walk across that stage.
- 42:13Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 42:13Speaker 9: I remember our graduation was around five and it was
- 42:18Speaker 9: like a perfect time. But my family is not a
- 42:22Speaker 9: family family. Yeah, we didn't do anything, so and it
- 42:28Speaker 9: sucks because that's how I remember my graduation, like we
- 42:32Speaker 9: didn't do anything. It was boring.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Like that's unfortunate. Oh that's too bad, all right, Yeah,
- 42:37Speaker 1: well thanks for colling. I appreciate it. I mean that's
- 42:41Speaker 1: what it should be.
- 42:42Speaker 2: My brother graduated from college last Saturday. I got up
- 42:45Speaker 2: at four am, drove to the graduation. It was at
- 42:50Speaker 2: nine o'clock, nine thirty, I think bye. I think he
- 42:54Speaker 2: was done by eleven. We went out and had a
- 42:58Speaker 2: great meal on the water overlooking the lake or you
- 43:01Speaker 2: know where we were overlooking the lake, enjoying you know,
- 43:06Speaker 2: his big day.
- 43:08Speaker 3: Now.
- 43:08Speaker 2: He had a party the next day also but it's
- 43:11Speaker 2: not the same. You know, everybody has this adrenaline Russian excitement.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Have you've been to I was at a ridge View
- 43:19Speaker 2: graduation last night and you could just hear the excitement
- 43:22Speaker 2: with the family members and how they're proud they were
- 43:26Speaker 2: their kids.
- 43:28Speaker 1: You want to enjoy that, you know, that's the moment.
- 43:33Speaker 1: Did you text me here about graduations and Romeo? So
- 43:37Speaker 1: the reason they do it so late is because of
- 43:40Speaker 1: the heat. Usually it's very hot during graduations and they're
- 43:44Speaker 1: mostly outdoors.
- 43:45Speaker 2: In regards to in regards to pay, it's not it
- 43:49Speaker 2: is not mandatory for any of the teachers or district
- 43:52Speaker 2: staff to attend, so it's voluntary and they don't get paid.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Well, okay, that's fair. That's fair. I mean, I guess
- 43:59Speaker 1: the heat. I don't no, I just all right, hey roam.
- 44:04Speaker 2: I also find it dumb that my wife that my
- 44:07Speaker 2: wife sister graduated high school on Tuesday, but still had
- 44:11Speaker 2: to go to school yesterday and today, which is her
- 44:13Speaker 2: last day.
- 44:18Speaker 1: My wife's oh, okay.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Don't you actually sign out of high school at a
- 44:24Speaker 2: certain point. I believe you sign out and once you
- 44:28Speaker 2: do that, you're done. So I don't think you really
- 44:30Speaker 2: have to.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Go, right, Romeo.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Oh my god, that guy complaining about his kid at
- 44:35Speaker 2: the time in kindergarten. My son was in high school.
- 44:38Speaker 2: Let's see about his kid at the time in kindergarten.
- 44:42Speaker 2: My son was in high or was in high school
- 44:45Speaker 2: now that now, that was horrible. Anyways, my youngest also
- 44:50Speaker 2: is finished up sixth grade. They're not getting oh in
- 44:53Speaker 2: high school, I see during the COVID time, that's what
- 44:55Speaker 2: you're talking about. Okay, during sixth grade, they're not getting
- 44:58Speaker 2: the ceremony. They're having what the school is calling a
- 45:03Speaker 2: clap out, and it's exactly what it sounds like. I
- 45:07Speaker 2: don't know what that means, but okay, I agree, Romeo,
- 45:12Speaker 2: it's not the same. It's crazy. Yeah, it's just wrong.
- 45:17Speaker 2: I think it's just wrong even if yeah, yeah, all right.
- 45:24Speaker 2: I mean I could straighten it out for you if
- 45:26Speaker 2: you want.
- 45:26Speaker 1: The school districts want to call me, I'll help you out.
- 45:30Speaker 2: Hey, rom just listening over your graduation topic, and I'm
- 45:35Speaker 2: balling in tears over here because my oldest daughter is graduating.
- 45:39Speaker 2: But I divorced the mom many years ago, and I
- 45:42Speaker 2: didn't get invited to graduation because there's a limited amount
- 45:45Speaker 2: of tickets. It just sucks because I really do want
- 45:49Speaker 2: to go, but it seems like the mother doesn't want
- 45:52Speaker 2: me there.
- 45:53Speaker 1: It hurts so bad, and I'm.
- 45:55Speaker 2: Just waiting hoping she calls me to tell me a
- 45:58Speaker 2: ticket is available.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Wow, that is that's awful. You're you're the father.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Over.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Oh let's see, my oldest daughter's graduating. But I divorced
- 46:10Speaker 2: the mom, so are you not in her life?
- 46:13Speaker 5: How? How? How?
- 46:14Speaker 1: How have you done something better? Are you giving me
- 46:16Speaker 1: the whole story?
- 46:17Speaker 2: And I'm just I just want this for verification before
- 46:20Speaker 2: I tell you how to sneak into a graduation, because
- 46:23Speaker 2: I kind of almost I kind of snuck into one
- 46:26Speaker 2: last night. So and what uh And I'll actually find
- 46:33Speaker 2: you a ticket for your daughter's graduation right now. You
- 46:36Speaker 2: tell me the school and I might be able to
- 46:39Speaker 2: find you a ticket. But uh, so are you telling
- 46:44Speaker 2: me the whole story? Are you involved in your oldest
- 46:47Speaker 2: daughter's life? Because if you are, how is there not
- 46:51Speaker 2: a ticket available for you? You're giving me the whole story, right,
- 46:55Speaker 2: I mean that's I'm just I I just have to
- 46:58Speaker 2: verify already. Or two five four is seven to seven?
- 47:02Speaker 6: Good morning rom you?
- 47:04Speaker 11: Hey, what's up?
- 47:05Speaker 7: Well? Make make yeah, make sure you get a full
- 47:08Speaker 7: story from dude.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, more.
- 47:12Speaker 4: But let me tell you, if a grandma calls you
- 47:15Speaker 4: with a sad story about she don't got a ticket
- 47:18Speaker 4: to her grandson's graduation, had frontier, don't give that.
- 47:22Speaker 6: Broad net.
- 47:26Speaker 4: Wow, because I'm.
- 47:28Speaker 6: The mama that's making her.
- 47:29Speaker 3: Stand on that stuff.
- 47:30Speaker 4: You ain't gonna commit fraud and steal from your kids,
- 47:34Speaker 4: your grandson for years they think that you're going to
- 47:37Speaker 4: get a ticket to his graduation at the end of
- 47:40Speaker 4: the day.
- 47:40Speaker 7: And you can smile and bring and act like you
- 47:43Speaker 7: just a great.
- 47:44Speaker 4: Grandma, and you're not.
- 47:47Speaker 2: You're not.
- 47:47Speaker 3: People stand on that.
- 47:49Speaker 4: So when their tention is being taken, you not there.
- 47:51Speaker 3: Answer them questions and why.
- 47:57Speaker 8: But it's a great day, you know.
- 47:59Speaker 6: My graduating man, it's gonna be awesome.
- 48:03Speaker 4: Lessons movie, lessons, movie learned, and.
- 48:06Speaker 6: It will be a great day.
- 48:07Speaker 2: All right, Well, congratulations, have a nice congratulation.
- 48:10Speaker 1: All right, take your umbrella that story. I will take
- 48:15Speaker 1: your umbrella because of my rain it is.
- 48:17Speaker 6: I gotta go get some now.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Umbrella sells going through the roof today and bakers, all right,
- 48:32Speaker 2: what he always texting back? Hold on, he says, Rome
- 48:34Speaker 2: I'm texting back. I'm definitely still involved in my daughter's life.
- 48:38Speaker 2: Just the mom is still holding a grudge after being
- 48:40Speaker 2: a divorced for more than thirteen years.
- 48:42Speaker 1: I would love for you to get me a ticket.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Unfortunately she lives in San Diego while I'm up here
- 48:47Speaker 2: in Bakersfield.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Well, bro, bro, come on, you better, you better take that.
- 48:53Speaker 1: You better leave tonight. What is wrong?
- 48:55Speaker 3: You know?
- 48:55Speaker 2: What I would do is if I was you, and
- 48:57Speaker 2: if you're definitely, if you're on the up and up,
- 49:00Speaker 2: this is what I would do as her father. I
- 49:03Speaker 2: would be on my way to San Diego right now,
- 49:08Speaker 2: and I would be waiting outside that graduate if you
- 49:10Speaker 2: couldn't if you got and got a ticket to get
- 49:12Speaker 2: in and you can't sneak in, I would be waiting
- 49:15Speaker 2: outside in the parking lot for when my daughter walked
- 49:19Speaker 2: out of that stadium or wherever she's graduating from.
- 49:22Speaker 1: I'm just saying, you better be there. I would be
- 49:25Speaker 1: leaving now. Try to get that hustle in, all right?
- 49:27Speaker 2: But yeah, I did one rhythm of the Valley, it's
- 49:33Speaker 2: Romeo or let's get these text message straight?
- 49:37Speaker 1: What does it say here? I was though I was
- 49:42Speaker 1: at the one for elementary and her middle school.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Oh, this is the guy back who's saying he can't Well,
- 49:47Speaker 2: you need to look, bro, if she lives down in Sandy.
- 49:50Speaker 1: This guy texted and said he Mary.
- 49:51Speaker 2: He divorced his wife thirteen years ago, and the wife's
- 49:55Speaker 2: holding the grudge and not giving him a ticket to
- 49:57Speaker 2: his oldest daughter's graduation. Bro, you need to just drive
- 50:01Speaker 2: down there, Drive down to San Diego and be there
- 50:03Speaker 2: in the parking lot.
- 50:04Speaker 3: Man.
- 50:05Speaker 1: I mean, there's no there's no conversation to be had,
- 50:08Speaker 1: whether you get in or not. You're there. Hey, good morning, Rome.
- 50:12Speaker 1: You're one hundred percent correct.
- 50:13Speaker 3: I know I am.
- 50:16Speaker 1: A Rome. Let's see here. I agree.
- 50:18Speaker 2: My daughters graduate today and we'll be having a reception
- 50:21Speaker 2: right after at home. We'll be tired tomorrow. But the
- 50:25Speaker 2: occasion is worth it, exactly, and you got to be
- 50:27Speaker 2: in the moment. That's what people fail to realize. Also,
- 50:32Speaker 2: this reminds me of a kinta, when families host the
- 50:35Speaker 2: party months before or after to accommodate better whether not
- 50:39Speaker 2: the same as celebrating right when they turn fifteen.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Exactly, you're absolutely right, Good morning, How what's going on?
- 50:46Speaker 7: No?
- 50:47Speaker 6: No, the further she had to move away the top
- 50:49Speaker 6: to pay of the relationship with that's what that's your
- 50:51Speaker 6: first time right there?
- 50:53Speaker 1: What are you talking about?
- 50:55Speaker 6: I don't think it's a good idea.
- 50:56Speaker 10: She said that his.
- 50:58Speaker 6: Family lives in San Diego. Okay, so I mean they
- 51:03Speaker 6: probably don't want him around. They probably got a restraining
- 51:05Speaker 6: order on this guy. He didn't send him up to
- 51:08Speaker 6: get a rested Well.
- 51:09Speaker 1: If that's what it takes to show him what you
- 51:11Speaker 1: love your.
- 51:11Speaker 6: Daughter, Yeah, it doesn't sound like he does.
- 51:14Speaker 10: But who am I to say that?
- 51:16Speaker 6: And I'm not to know you snuck in because you
- 51:19Speaker 6: look like my pee coach, Romo. He can cask for
- 51:21Speaker 6: my old wrestling coach from high school.
- 51:23Speaker 2: I get out.
- 51:25Speaker 3: Hey, ro, You're absolutely right. That fool should get in
- 51:28Speaker 3: that car. He should be ready on his way to
- 51:30Speaker 3: San Diego. The only stop he should be doing is
- 51:32Speaker 3: getting gassed and getting some flowers for her, you know
- 51:35Speaker 3: what I mean, and waiting for her outside. You know,
- 51:37Speaker 3: you know how much of the mom's gonna hate him
- 51:38Speaker 3: when he steals the show, when he comes out and
- 51:41Speaker 3: his daughter sees him and she's like dad, You know
- 51:45Speaker 3: how much the mom's gonna be so pissed off? Rohim
- 51:48Speaker 3: that he's there and that he stole the whole moment.
- 51:50Speaker 3: And that's what the daughter's gonna remember her dad was
- 51:52Speaker 3: there when when she graduated.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 51:54Speaker 3: I mean, if you're listening, bro, you should be ready
- 51:56Speaker 3: to jumping in on the on the road. Forget the shower,
- 51:59Speaker 3: get the wives of new up. But bro, you should
- 52:00Speaker 3: be heading over there. That's your daughter and your oldest Bro.
- 52:04Speaker 3: What are you even thinking? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll be
- 52:11Speaker 3: down that anybody gonna hold me back from seeing my daughter.
- 52:13Speaker 3: And if I couldn't get in, I'll tell you what.
- 52:15Speaker 3: I'll be right there waiting for when she walked out.
- 52:16Speaker 3: I'll be first incas.
- 52:18Speaker 2: All right, ter man later bro, Hey Romeo, they waited
- 52:23Speaker 2: for the rain to stop. That's why they started. Oh
- 52:25Speaker 2: the rich you graduation? Oh okay, well I still rain,
- 52:28Speaker 2: but I see okay, okay, good morning.
- 52:31Speaker 1: Albums going on?
- 52:32Speaker 7: Hey Romeo, do not win or anything?
- 52:34Speaker 2: No, sorry, bro, already fourteen five, four seven to seven
- 52:39Speaker 2: a roam.
- 52:40Speaker 1: My daughter's graduation is tonight. You don't start.
- 52:44Speaker 2: You don't start till seven, probably won't end till nine
- 52:48Speaker 2: nine or nine thirty. Go out to eat, uh nine thirty,
- 52:52Speaker 2: go out to eat and since there's no reservations, probably
- 52:55Speaker 2: have to wait an hour and a half or table.
- 52:58Speaker 2: So I agree with you the graduation should be early. Well,
- 53:00Speaker 2: the problem is where you're gonna go eat at. Every
- 53:03Speaker 2: place closes at nine. You know, I talked to Saunders
- 53:09Speaker 2: about yesterday. Saunders is gonna stay open tonight for graduations,
- 53:14Speaker 2: probably till nine forty five or ten.
- 53:17Speaker 1: You know, the kitchen.
- 53:17Speaker 2: You got to remember when the kitchen closes. I mean,
- 53:19Speaker 2: where are you gonna go? I know you got Saunders
- 53:22Speaker 2: that's open. I don't know if it's both of them,
- 53:26Speaker 2: but uh, the one on calif Are, the one on
- 53:28Speaker 2: brim Home. Then you've got Social House I know stays
- 53:30Speaker 2: open till ten. Their kitchen is open till ten. I
- 53:35Speaker 2: mean Vjay's BJ's probably stays open late. You know, that's
- 53:39Speaker 2: a nice place. You got to go somewhere where you
- 53:41Speaker 2: can have good food and you have a lot and
- 53:43Speaker 2: you can accommodate your family.
- 53:46Speaker 1: So those are the only three places I know of,
- 53:50Speaker 1: you know. So yeah, it's rough. It's just it's it's.
- 53:57Speaker 2: You. Guys might think I'm crazy when I say this,
- 54:00Speaker 2: but the moment is what matters for these kids that
- 54:03Speaker 2: are graduating tonight high school.
- 54:07Speaker 1: This is the moment that matters.
- 54:08Speaker 9: Now.
- 54:09Speaker 2: The party is fine, or the barbecue on Saturday is
- 54:12Speaker 2: great because their friends can come by, or your family's
- 54:15Speaker 2: going to be there and you guys can all get along,
- 54:17Speaker 2: but it's not their moment. It's a barbecue on Saturday
- 54:21Speaker 2: for them. Their moment is tonight. Their moment is and
- 54:29Speaker 2: let's be honest about graduations, their moment is very fast,
- 54:32Speaker 2: it's amongst it's not a real intimate time to celebrate
- 54:36Speaker 2: their moment.
- 54:38Speaker 1: There's a rush to it. And that dinner afterwards is
- 54:43Speaker 1: really what matters.
- 54:46Speaker 2: For you. Your family, the grandparents, the caregiver, whoever, whoever
- 54:51Speaker 2: is the most important to these kids. It's the moment
- 54:55Speaker 2: after you get away from all the hooplah of the
- 54:58Speaker 2: graduation and you can just all unwind together and enjoy
- 55:03Speaker 2: the excitement of what just happened. And that or the
- 55:10Speaker 2: restaurants in Bakersfield don't. It's not about the time, it's
- 55:14Speaker 2: not about staying up late. It's about having the availability
- 55:19Speaker 2: to do it.
- 55:20Speaker 8: Hey, Romi, I was just hearing your information on the
- 55:23Speaker 8: radio about the restaurants open this FYI kept his rowhouse
- 55:27Speaker 8: ain't open till.
- 55:28Speaker 1: Midnight Texas Roadhouse. All right, yeah, all right, well I
- 55:34Speaker 1: appreciate phone call. Thank you.
- 55:35Speaker 10: You're welcome, right. I mean these.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Places, you gotta know where to go. I mean, you
- 55:39Speaker 1: gotta be planned, you gotta be prepared. I think that
- 55:45Speaker 1: I think it's important.
- 55:47Speaker 3: I really do.
- 55:47Speaker 1: And I think there's a lot of important even if
- 55:50Speaker 1: it's just going back to the house.
- 55:53Speaker 2: And having cake and ice cream, as silly as you
- 55:57Speaker 2: may think that is, it's important that after you get
- 56:01Speaker 2: through this whole graduation, the whole two and a half hours,
- 56:06Speaker 2: maybe in the rain tonight, you know, it's important that
- 56:11Speaker 2: you guys spend some time together afterwards.
- 56:14Speaker 1: Good morning, How what's going on.
- 56:18Speaker 3: Today?
- 56:18Speaker 1: I don't have anything to give out. I'm talking about No,
- 56:21Speaker 1: I'm broke. I'm broke, bro I'm broke today for seven
- 56:27Speaker 1: and seven. We got to straighten out these graduations, situations.
- 56:31Speaker 3: For you guys.
- 56:33Speaker 2: I did here, by the way, that I guess because
- 56:35Speaker 2: of the rain. I mean last night, like I said,
- 56:36Speaker 2: I was at Reggie's graduation last night.
- 56:39Speaker 1: It did rain.
- 56:40Speaker 2: It didn't really affect anything, got a little wet, so
- 56:43Speaker 2: who cares. But tonight it's supposed to rain as well.
- 56:49Speaker 2: I did hear there are some contingency plans, like they
- 56:51Speaker 2: might start and somebody told me that maybe they started
- 56:53Speaker 2: Reggie's later because of the rain. I would start it earlier,
- 56:57Speaker 2: but they made you the same thing with some of
- 57:00Speaker 2: these other graduations tonight. Or they may move it into
- 57:03Speaker 2: the if there's lightning. I heard there might be lightning also,
- 57:05Speaker 2: they might move it into the the gymnasium.
- 57:09Speaker 1: But yeah, I don't know. I mean, it's tough. I say,
- 57:13Speaker 1: you just thug it out rain. Little water never hurt nobody.
- 57:16Speaker 1: I mean, I know you got grandmas and grandpa's that
- 57:18Speaker 1: might not be able to sit in the rain. But yeah,
- 57:21Speaker 1: I get it.
- 57:22Speaker 2: But for the most part, moms and dad, you can
- 57:24Speaker 2: thug it out in the rain. Get you an umbrella.
- 57:26Speaker 2: Ubi he goo going to Rome. My daughter graduated from
- 57:29Speaker 2: BC and her mom just wanted in and out and
- 57:32Speaker 2: go home because she was tired. I wanted to go
- 57:35Speaker 2: to the yard house. It was around nine thirty. But
- 57:38Speaker 2: sometimes you have to take one for the team. I
- 57:41Speaker 2: feel like she stole one from my daughter. Could have
- 57:43Speaker 2: been best. Remember absolutely, she stole one for It's not
- 57:46Speaker 2: about you, it's about your graduate. That's who it's about
- 57:51Speaker 2: back to the statement where the guy said his daughter
- 57:53Speaker 2: graduated BC.
- 57:54Speaker 1: That's an accomplishment, it's a pretty important one. And she
- 57:58Speaker 1: was too tired. The mom was too hot, too tired.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Want to go in and out? You want to go?
- 58:02Speaker 1: He wanted to go to the yard house around nine thirty.
- 58:06Speaker 1: You know, you should just took your daughter. Let her
- 58:08Speaker 1: go home. You're tired, go home. You and your daughter
- 58:11Speaker 1: should have went. There's no It's funny to me how
- 58:14Speaker 1: these parents act like that, And it's it's kind of.
- 58:18Speaker 2: Sad because I bet this woman wouldn't have been too
- 58:23Speaker 2: tired to do what she wanted to do.
- 58:25Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 58:27Speaker 2: Your parents are always too tired, never too tired to
- 58:29Speaker 2: do what you want to do, but can't suck one
- 58:33Speaker 2: up for the team, take one for the team when
- 58:34Speaker 2: it comes to your daughter graduating.
- 58:36Speaker 1: It's a little embarrassing. Hey, goodring to Romeo.
- 58:40Speaker 2: See Arvin Highest graduate graduation ceremony is at seven. Usually
- 58:45Speaker 2: it doesn't finish till nine or later. By the time
- 58:48Speaker 2: we leave the parking lot, it's ten and no restaurants
- 58:51Speaker 2: open anymore. I really wish Arvin High would go to
- 58:55Speaker 2: a ceremony in the morning.
- 58:56Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's what. Yeah, And you're exactly right.
- 58:58Speaker 2: That's the problem, you know, because you're not gonna rush
- 59:03Speaker 2: your kids. You gotta let him take all the photos
- 59:05Speaker 2: on the field with their friends, with their family members,
- 59:09Speaker 2: because that's the moment, and then there needs to be
- 59:11Speaker 2: restaurants open.
- 59:13Speaker 1: I mean, like I said, it's just I don't know.
- 59:19Speaker 1: I don't know why. I don't know why people aren't smarter,
- 59:25Speaker 1: you know already four two five, four, seven to seven.
- 59:30Speaker 2: Hey, Rome asked that guy what school his daughter goes to? Oh,
- 59:33Speaker 2: the guy, she goes to some school in San Diego.
- 59:37Speaker 2: The guy who couldn't get a ticket because the baby
- 59:39Speaker 2: mama don't like him. Already four two five, four or
- 59:42Speaker 2: seven to seven. I'm going through the same situation, Rome.
- 59:46Speaker 2: The father of my daughter is not Let's see, I'm
- 59:50Speaker 2: going through the same situation. The father of my daughter
- 59:55Speaker 2: is not invited to the graduation. Reason why is that
- 59:58Speaker 2: there's a restraining order and also my daughter doesn't want
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: him there. Well, okay, that makes sense. He's not involved
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: at all, only when he feels like being a father.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: So no, I am not inviting my ex to my
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: daughter's graduation. Seems bad. Since since me seems bad but
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: it is what it is. Well, yeah, but that's a
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: different scenario, right, I mean if I don't know. Look, man,
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: if dad or mom or grandma whoever's not involved in
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: your kid's life, they can't just reap the rewards, you know,
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: when it's all said and dug.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: They can't just get there. They can't.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: They can't just show up for the photo and act
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: like they were a proud parent and helped your child
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: get here. I agree with all of you people on
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: that you should never if you were the one that got,
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: if you were the one that was there for the
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: ups and downs and high school, didn't stand proud with
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: your kid for the photo, If you were the parent
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: that was never around and didn't help out and didn't try,
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: then you know what you're out.
- 1:01:10Speaker 9: You can't.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: You can't take the photo for the GRAM and be
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: the proud parent when you weren't there to do the work.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: I get it.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: The guy in San Diego, the guy who said his
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: daughter's graduate in San Diego said the mom's holding a
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: grudge against it.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: That happens too.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: So if you're if you're holding a grudge against your
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: ex and they were there for the child and supported
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: the child. Then then we got a different issue. Sounds
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: like there's two different issues going on here, all right?
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: Eight four two five four seven seven?
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: What did you send me here?
- 1:01:48Speaker 10: Yo?
- 1:01:49Speaker 6: Ron?
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: Wait a minute, how can I get more?
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: People?
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Snuck into Stockdale High School at eight o'clock at eight
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: o'clock tomorrow morning for my daughter's eighth grade graduation.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: It's in the stadium, the football stadium.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: We only get six wristbands and what and that's just
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: your immediate family, not including grandparents and all that.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: Well, what do the wristbands look like?
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: You know?
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: I don't know?
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: A four two five four seven seven A rome. And
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: on the flip side of the story, my current wife
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: is pregnant and do any day. So if I would
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: leave to this graduation, I will have my wife worried
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: that I'm going to miss the birth.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: Of the baby.
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: Bro.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Just yeah, I can't help you. You you always got
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: a story. I can't help you.
- 1:02:37Speaker 7: Good morning on me?
- 1:02:38Speaker 10: All up?
- 1:02:40Speaker 7: So my son graduates to my BHS and his dad.
- 1:02:46Speaker 7: We've been the war for four years now and his
- 1:02:50Speaker 7: dad is every now and then in his life. So
- 1:02:53Speaker 7: I am the ninety nine point nine nine perip parents.
- 1:02:57Speaker 12: My son out like.
- 1:03:00Speaker 7: He needs to in buy people that meant something in
- 1:03:02Speaker 7: his life. You know, that helped with his pulling the
- 1:03:04Speaker 7: help with everything. So he already had the people, which
- 1:03:07Speaker 7: was basically more of my family because obviously sometimes it's
- 1:03:11Speaker 7: more of the woman's family that helps out. But he
- 1:03:14Speaker 7: is given his dad a ticket when his dad messages
- 1:03:18Speaker 7: me asking me for three tickets for the graduation, and
- 1:03:21Speaker 7: I'm like nope, and he goes, why not I said nope,
- 1:03:25Speaker 7: Well me and my wife want to go, and I
- 1:03:27Speaker 7: said nope. So he messages my son and tell my son, well,
- 1:03:29Speaker 7: why can't my wife go?
- 1:03:31Speaker 12: You know?
- 1:03:31Speaker 7: And I told him, you know what, it's because it's
- 1:03:34Speaker 7: for people that meant something in my life. Don't forget
- 1:03:36Speaker 7: to send her pictures and videos of my graduation.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 1:03:50Speaker 7: It's not my my say to who gets to go
- 1:03:53Speaker 7: to my son's graduation because it's it's his ticket.
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: It's his graduation.
- 1:03:57Speaker 8: I'm going to because I'm main parent.
- 1:04:00Speaker 7: So he got to pick with the ten tickets that
- 1:04:03Speaker 7: he got, who he wants to go to his graduation
- 1:04:06Speaker 7: in this show and the heck and his dad's wife.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: You do you think the data show up.
- 1:04:13Speaker 7: He is, but he text my He texts my daughter
- 1:04:16Speaker 7: telling her he's only going to support my son. Like
- 1:04:19Speaker 7: I said, he's not even a full time dad, so
- 1:04:21Speaker 7: I don't really even care. I don't care.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: That's great, all right, thanks for calling. I appreciate it got.
- 1:04:29Speaker 7: Out to my son off the twenty twenty six chest Jason.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: All right, thanks for college. All right, wait to put
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: your son's family business out there. He's not going to
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: be embarrassed tonight.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: I will tell you this. Does anybody surprised?
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: These are the conversations we're having in Beggersfield, exus who
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: have to fight over tickets, dads who aren't in the
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: in the picture, grandparents who aren't helping out, things like that.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: That's welcome to Beggarsfield. Baby.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: Let's see here height for two pop four seven seven Romeo,
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: You're absolutely right. Well, my third oldest daughter graduated. Her
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: mom didn't want to give me tickets to get in.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: I went there and people see me standing around, and
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: I got hooked up with the ticket to get in
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: to see my daughter graduate.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: But my plans were to be outside waiting.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: Well, that's what I'm saying. You gotta wait, right, you
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: gotta be there if you want to be there. They
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: tell that guy to stop being a weenie, show up
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: in the parking lot for his daughter. Don't let the
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: mother win. It's not a competition, guys. It's about being
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: there for your kid.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Damn Rome, You're making people all emotional in the early morning. Well,
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: I mean, today's an emotional day for a lot of people.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: This is a mildstone in these kids' lives, in your
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: children's lives.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: This is an accompliment.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: This is an accomplishment, and it's a real accomplishment because
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: now some of these.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Kids are gonna go to work. Some of these kids
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: are now gonna start their lives and high school is
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: is is done.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: Some of them will go to college, and you know
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: they won't start their lives exactly yet. Some of them
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: will go to trade schools, and some of them are
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: gonna go to work. So this is it for some
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: of these kids as far as graduation goes. So it
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: is an emotional time.
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: It is.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: It's meaningful. Today is meaningful for.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: All of you that are graduating high school, for your
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: for your families, for your friends. I mean, this is
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: a meaningful moment. So yeah, if you're gonna get emotional.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: Get emotional already, four two, five, four, seven to seven. Hey,
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: rom we had a graduation yesterday and after we ate
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: a taco truck because everything was closed. But that's what
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: I'm saying. Even that is a moment, though, and I will.
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: And that's why these people are saying, oh, no, you
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: just have the party during the weekend now. But even
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: that moment of you and your family going to the
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: taco truck to eat because that's what's open, because the
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: graduations are so late, you know what, that's still meaningful.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: It means something. Okay, you know, I guess I guess
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: you know.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: Saunders will be open tonight if you guys want to
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: go after graduation. I think they'll up until nine forty
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: five or ten. Social house will be open to ten.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: I hear Jack's texts, something, Jake's texts, mex Set, Jake's
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: whatever the steak place is going to be open. I
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: think BJ's will be open. And just those are the
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: only ones I know offhand. But it is very important
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: that after graduation, even if it is to go home
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: and have your whole family at your house, it is
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: very important that your immediate family be with your graduate
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: tonight after graduation for at least, you know, an hour
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: so to ride that high of graduation. Let's see here,
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: what did you text me talking about graduations and stuff?
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: Hey?
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: Rome, Oh this is the one that he said. The
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: mom was tired.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: His daughter graduated BC the other night and she was tired,
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: so they all had to go home.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: It was nine thirty, which is.
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: That's a little selfish on your part as a mother
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: to take away from That's what he said. Feels like
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: he took something away, stole something from the daughter. So
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: he texted me and says, oh, trust me wrong here.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: Almost did just take her and her boyfriend because they
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: both graduated BC that night. I just didn't want to
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: deal with the attitude. Well sorry, bro, I'm not going
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: to side with you on that one. You should have
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: done it. Dealt with the attitude, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: Sometimes you parents need to understand that the other parent
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: is wrong. And if you're not going to stand up
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: for your child against the other parent, then what are
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: you really doing? You know, sometimes you got You're an adult.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: You can handle it. Okay.
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: It's not like you were standing up for a friend
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: who was a jack ash. You're standing up for your daughter,
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: So I can't.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: With you, bro, That one's on you. You should have
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: done what you should have done and dealt with your wife.
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: Hey, roam bet you there's gonna be a bunch of
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: taco trucks open though. What they should do is put
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: the taco trucks should go line up outside the outside
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: the stadiums, the football stadiums tonight. But there could be
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: fun in that too, man, there's nothing wrong with that.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: That could be, that could be a story to tell. Man.
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: I remember graduation, Mom, Dad, Remember why I graduated? Nothing
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: was open, so we just ateed the taco truck. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: What's up?
- 1:09:57Speaker 7: Rain? Damn Rain?
- 1:09:58Speaker 11: Righte and die?
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: I hadn't been a either, not damn Rain. Well, I
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: am not going to miss my son's graduation because it's
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: rain and all my hair.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Oh don't. And there's nothing wrong with that.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: Everybody.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Everybody should be just embracing, have a good time. I mean,
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: there's no reason.
- 1:10:25Speaker 7: I requesting might gang off, and I'm gonna come and
- 1:10:27Speaker 7: just graduate in writing in and excited and springing my
- 1:10:33Speaker 7: lens out.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: All right, Well, congratulations, it's an exciting moment for you
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: and your child.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: I hope you have a good day.
- 1:10:39Speaker 12: Thank you so much.
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: If it rains, I mean, come on, man, it's not
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: get you a jacket, Throw you something warm on, take
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: you a blanket, take you an umbrella.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Rain that rains irrelevant to me, to be honest. But
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: it's not going to rain that hard anyway. So I
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: think I think it's gonna be fine. Like I said,
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: I was at a graduationlast night. It was fine, all right.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: It rained, Nothing.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: Happened already fourteen four seven seven, Romeo. I remember when
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: I used to work at hometown buffet and our manager
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: would have a stay open late for graduation nights, and boy,
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: we would be busy. We celebrated my daughter's graduation slash
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: birthday this past weekend, and I broke my ankle this
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: week before the week before. Did we cancel? Hell no,
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: we rented those electric scooters and pushed through. Gotta celebrate graduation,
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: you do.
- 1:11:31Speaker 8: You do?
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: Gotta celebrate graduation.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: Yo, rome College and high school graduates are old enough,
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: mature enough to invite whatever parent and grandparent they want.
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: Some dads just make excuses. Yeah, okay, what do you
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: got here?
- 1:11:50Speaker 10: Rome?
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: Let me see here, Romeo, who knew this guy, this
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: guy who child was going to graduate junior high and
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: the mom wouldn't give him a ticket because she was
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: being petty.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: So we asked around and ended up finding an.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: Extra ticket sat all the way at the top so
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: he wasn't seen, just to say hey, wasn't seen, Just
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: to say, hey, I was there for you, even though
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: your mom wouldn't give me a ticket. Well, the mom
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: saw him, went over, made a scene. Security ended up
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: kicking both of them out, and neither of them got
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: to see. Neither of them, neither of them. Neither of
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: them got to see watch their child graduate. So sad,
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: just so petty. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it. Hey,
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: good morning, Romeo. Instead of Romeo Show, it should be
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: Beggarspiel's novella as Everyone as drama, and today it gets showcased.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: I mean, the problem is.
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: Unfortunately people are petty, I mean unfortunately, unfortunately moms and
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: dads get petty with each other and they use the
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: child as a pawn in their game.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: And but normally the child figures it out and everything
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: works out.
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: So already forsvot for seven and seven, Uh yo, rome
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: what's up? It's actually a bit sad to see. This
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: is a lot of people's norms. Fatherless families are having
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: multiple families. That's why fathers are important. I mean, look
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: at Seahawk Lou. He didn't even make it to his
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: own graduation, but he was there for his son. Okay,
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: fair enough, So graduations are here. Hopefully you guys don't
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: mess it up for your kids. Man, would you send
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: me here?
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: Hey Rome, what is a.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: Part time dad? Dads go to work sometimes out of
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: town to support the kids. We were only in town
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: for a few days then back back at it. So
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: does that mean I don't deserve a ticket?
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: I mean I don't know.
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: Hey Rome, Denny's is open twenty four hours. If that's
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: what you got, that's what you've got. Okay, Hey Rome,
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: we ordered food for after the graduation because we know
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: everybody is going to be trying to hit up Denny's
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: or whatever restaurant is left open then night.
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: That's fine if that's what. If that's what you got
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: to do, that's what you gotta do.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: But don't don't screw it up, man, don't don't don't
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: screw up your kids graduation. Mom and dad, because either
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: your fight or your petty or you know, you can't
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: work it out because you're too tired.
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: Whatever. Good ONR Now what's going on and what's up?
- 1:14:29Speaker 8: You know, everything you're saying about the graduation, it makes
- 1:14:32Speaker 8: sense to only have the people who genuinely, you know,
- 1:14:34Speaker 8: have been there for you for your school, because I
- 1:14:38Speaker 8: remember when I graduated. You know, I grew up with
- 1:14:41Speaker 8: my mom, a single mom, and of course my mom
- 1:14:43Speaker 8: was going to my graduation and my two brothers and
- 1:14:48Speaker 8: I had a whole bunch of extra tickets, and my
- 1:14:51Speaker 8: family reached out to me. They never reached out to
- 1:14:53Speaker 8: me throughout the whole you know, Oh, am I being invited?
- 1:14:59Speaker 8: And I'm lying, no one is on my invitation list.
- 1:15:02Speaker 8: I don't have an invitation besides my mother and my
- 1:15:05Speaker 8: two brothers, who who've only ever been there for me
- 1:15:08Speaker 8: of course.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15:09Speaker 8: And I'm like, they're like, but why you're being selfish?
- 1:15:12Speaker 8: I'm like, no, I'm not. Throughout the whole school, You're
- 1:15:14Speaker 8: never bought to call me. Why am I gonna invite
- 1:15:16Speaker 8: you and pretend to be happy that you're there. I'm like,
- 1:15:18Speaker 8: I don't care about you. You don't care about me?
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: That's awesome, Yeah, exactly, I think you're right about that.
- 1:15:23Speaker 8: Yeah, so the only one who enjoyed it was me,
- 1:15:25Speaker 8: my mom, and my two brothers, and I was more
- 1:15:27Speaker 8: than happy. I didn't need nobody else.
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: That's cool, all right. Well, I appreciate the phone call
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: day around here.
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: I mean, she's right, you guys, you know you guys. Look, man,
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: you can't just be there for the photo op. You
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: have to be there forever. She's absolutely right. And I
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: like the person who said, when you graduate high school
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: or college, those kids are old enough.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: You're old enough at that point to decide who you
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: want there and who you don't want there.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: Okay, they know kids aren't stupid, they know who's there
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: for them, they know who's not. So there's no reason
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: to think any different. Right, Like I said, don't screw
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: it up. You know, be there for your kids today.
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: Don't be too tired to go do whatever when your
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: kid wants to run around the football field and it's
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: raining outside tonight, because they need to get all those
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: photos with their kids.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: It might be the last time to ever see those kids.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: Don't don't don't don't be a jackass, you know, just
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: sit there and wait and about eating.
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: I still think everybody you guys need to get together
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: afterwards and and and enjoy the moment because graduations are hectic,
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: they're long, they're tiresome for a lot of you. But
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: you still can't discount it means something
- 1:16:42Speaker 7: Every morning, mor
