- 0:43SPEAKER_01: Gentlemen, happy October 1st, 2026, and welcome to the Hoodet All Day Podcast.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: I'm your host, Michael Berg in the beautiful Treasure Valley, Boise, Idaho.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Just got done, finished it.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: A reef and beef burrito.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Fellas, it was legit.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: Boise's got that uh got that food dialed in.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: But we got Brian, Utah County.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: How you living?
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Uh great, great to be back home after a quick trip to Tejas.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: So great to be back and uh great to talk some Bengals football with y'all.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: We got some stuff to talk about.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: Brandt, Northern Kentucky.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: How are you and the fashion police doing?
- 1:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know, always talking Bengals fashion when we uh aren't talking about the game, but I'm excited to talk about the game specifically with you guys tonight.
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: So uh, you know, licking our wounds a little bit, but we're gonna be all right.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: We're gonna be all right.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: Good.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: Uh absolutely enjoyed the pre-hype for this podcast.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: I'm excited to get to four downs with both of you.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: You all know the drill.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: First down, all right.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: Not only did we lose, not only did it get manhandled, but it was against the hated, but never respected Steelers.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: So want to get your thoughts on that.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: Second down, can it be fixed?
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: Got a lot of stuff exposed on uh on Sunday, I think, unfortunately.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: And then third down, a lot of roster moves, especially between performance, play, injury bugs seems to be creeping in for the Bengals a little bit early in the season.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: Want to get your thoughts on that.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: And then fourth down, Jacksonville comes to town.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Best team in football, best team in the AFC, probably going to the Super Bowl.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: We don't have a chance.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: I want to know how you both think we can get back on the winning ways.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: So, Brian, kick us off.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: What the heck happened on Sunday?
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Uh, yeah, there's uh there's a lot of concern out there.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: Um, I think after Sunday, I maybe not be as concerned, but because we uh we really beat ourselves.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: I mean, Pittsburgh did have a good game plan, uh, was was the more physical team for most of the part of the game, and still it was a game we should have won.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Uh but shot ourselves in the foot.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Two the two turnovers come to mind very costly.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Um one takes away the opportunity to try to win that game there at the end or at least tie it and go to OT.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Um but they really couldn't stop our offense.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: We stopped our we stopped ourselves with the fumble.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: The defense as poorly as they played, they got they forced Pittsburgh twice to punt, and both times Pittsburgh ends up with the football because of uh a rough penalty for some reason.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Um I'm not gonna necessarily question the decision.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: I like being aggressive and and trying to make a play.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: If you get a pump block there, you know, the game changes tremendously in our favor.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: Um, it's just unfortunate.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Uh and I actually like what Darren Simmons said.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: He took, you know, he's like, hey, we were going after, we were going after we had pump block on.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Uh said got a good rush, but then uh was you know too aggressive or bad angle, whatever you want to call it, cost us a penalty, gives him the ball back.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: The fumble was bad by Keisha uh by Williams.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Uh and then PJ not just falling on the ball, expounded the and that that's those those three things right there.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: Um I know there's a lot more to a football game, but those three things, almost any one of them, just one of them, goes differently.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: And I I really think the Bengals are 3-0 right now.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's good that we lost, because then it doesn't disguise when you win a game like that, you're like, oh, everything's great.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: And it's like, ah, there's a lot to fix.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: So maybe it's hopefully it's a blessing in disguise, and the team gets it right.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: But mistakes, you can't play, you can't cannot have mistakes.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: And uh, you know, we're talking earlier, and Brandt said it perfectly.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: The Pittsburgh Steelers were a wounded animal.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: They heard it all week how terrible their offense was, and they came out prepared and and executed better than we did, and uh that's why we're both two-and-one right now.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: That's the part that sucks.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: You you always hate, you know, I mean, we always say football's a game of inches.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: You you see these simple mistakes that happen and compiles had they gone the other way, but I think the thing that's eating at most of us, like you're talking about, not only the mistakes, but Pittsburgh definitely seemed like the more physical, the more prepared, the more game-planned team.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: And I know that they were wounded, like Brant was talking about, but I would have hoped that a division rival on the road, opportunity to start 3-0, would have trumped that.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: So very excited for this Sunday.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Brandt, what happened?
- 5:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think Brian mentioned most of everything that I would highlight.
- 5:51SPEAKER_02: Uh, I think the one other thing that I would I would speak on, um, maybe that Brian didn't focus on as much, uh, the tackling.
- 5:59SPEAKER_02: I think the the poor tackling that we witnessed with last year's defense kind of reared its ugly head again.
- 6:07SPEAKER_02: Uh, bad angles, just not wrapping up, not being the more physical team.
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: So, and then, you know, guys, the the play that really just kind of broke my heart was the uh the the dump down to their tight end Washington, and then he just rumbles along the sidelines.
- 6:24SPEAKER_02: And I have no problem with guys, you know, making aggressive physical mistakes, but when it just doesn't look like we're given max effort, it it really just kind of bothered me.
- 6:35SPEAKER_02: And I know that the wide receivers were throwing some decent, like I guess, box out blocks on that play, but I think it was specifically Bobo and in battle.
- 6:46SPEAKER_02: I I just I expected more from them in terms of their effort to at least knock him out of bounds, it just didn't happen.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: So uh I was really disappointed with the tackling, but uh shout out to uh Kyle Duggar though on that play.
- 7:03SPEAKER_02: I was I told you guys, I was kind of ripping Kyle just for a couple of his angles.
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: I had no idea he was as hurt as he was.
- 7:10SPEAKER_02: So uh looking back and watching the tape a little bit more, he was being a warrior out there, dragging a leg, hasn't practiced all week yet, uh, and he still was able to run down Washington on that play and save a touchdown.
- 7:25SPEAKER_02: So big shout out to him.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: I think the other thing, just to build on it a little bit more, that Brian mentioned, I think putting on pump block when we got our finally our first stop of the old man, Aaron Rodgers, I just don't understand it at that point in the game.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: And I I greatly respect respect Darren Simmons.
- 7:50SPEAKER_02: I think he's one of the top special teams coaches in the league.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: But this is where I think Zach and some of the other coaches need to have a quick little powwow and be like, guys, we gotta win.
- 8:01SPEAKER_02: Joe Burrow is lighting them up.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: We we have a lead.
- 8:06SPEAKER_02: Let's go extend that lead.
- 8:08SPEAKER_02: I think we had a lead at the time, right?
- 8:10SPEAKER_02: Yep, yeah.
- 8:11SPEAKER_02: Let's go extend that lead and give the ball back to our our our our weapon Joe, uh, and the person that we trust the most.
- 8:18SPEAKER_02: And let's go see if we can make this a two-score game.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: So uh this is totally goes to good the credit, goes to Joe Goodberry.
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: He did the the digging on this stat.
- 8:29SPEAKER_02: This is why I just don't understand it.
- 8:31SPEAKER_02: From a if you're a data person, it doesn't make any sense.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: So over the last 10 seasons, the total number of punts that have been blocked, 0.53%.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: So instead of putting the ball back in your potential MVP quarterback hands, first time you gotta you gotta stop.
- 8:50SPEAKER_02: You're gonna take a 0.53% chance of blocking a punt.
- 8:54SPEAKER_02: I just don't get it, fellas.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: So though those two things really stuck stuck out to me.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: You know, I when you talk about that with the punt, I know that that had gained a lot more steam in conversation because that penalty became such a critical play.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: I I like what Brian was saying about the aggressiveness.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: I do believe, though Joe Goodberry has that great stat about nobody ever blocks punts, I think they saw something where they knew they could expose it and they had this ready to go.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: I think they thought it would be in the first quarter, not in the third quarter, or what was it early fourth quarter, whatever it was, we finally got a stop.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: And so that is the part, and then back to Brant's conversation.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: Why aren't you having a powwow?
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: Like, yo, let's know that like, yes, it's the right thing to do.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: I love being aggressive, but we finally got a freaking stop.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: Let's just let's roll with this.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: Brandt also talked about uh the tackling.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: Look, we were told all off season we replaced the defensive line, tons of moves there, or excuse me, update, upgraded the defensive line, changes made in the secondary, nothing was done in the second level at the linebackers.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: And they said there were so many questions that have been asked.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: What about the linebackers?
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: What about the linebackers?
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: We feel with the changes that have been made in the first two weeks, we didn't feel the pain of those linebackers.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: All of a sudden, when things got ugly and the Steelers said, okay, we're gonna double team everybody else and see if those linebackers can make plays, it didn't happen.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: I'm excited to see if we can get back to what was going on in those first two weeks.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: So, Brent, second down.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: Can it be fixed or is the sky falling?
- 10:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think a lot of actually what happened in that game, like Brian said, I mean, it was a lot of us shooting ourselves in the foot.
- 10:49SPEAKER_02: Um, and we still had a chance to win despite all the ugliness to the game.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: So I'll highlight two things I think that we can definitely fix.
- 10:57SPEAKER_02: And then if if we fix these guys, then even some of the missed tackles, even some of the lack of physicality, uh, with Joe Burrow, with Jamar Chase, with T.
- 11:07SPEAKER_02: Higgins, with Dex just pushing the pocket and Cassius Howe coming on, we should still be winning ball games.
- 11:14SPEAKER_02: So, number one would be the punt returner.
- 11:18SPEAKER_02: The punt returner securing the ball first, making sure that team is locked down.
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: So I think we're gonna put Dante Myers.
- 11:28SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know, we we cut Williams uh this week, he's back on the practice squad.
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: I think that's the right move.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: I would give him another chance when his time comes up.
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: He's gonna rebound.
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: I truly believe that, but we're gonna put Dante Myers back there uh and he's gonna catch the punts.
- 11:43SPEAKER_02: And it I think it's gonna be better.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: Now, if you guys don't remember, week two, Houston, Dante didn't drop one, but I don't know that we got a we got a Peter call.
- 11:54SPEAKER_02: I think we talked about it on that episode, but so we really got to shore up that team.
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: I think with those two mistakes, back-to-back weeks, I think guys have learned, and I think that team's gonna be fine.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: We're not gonna be turning the ball over when we've just got to stop.
- 12:09SPEAKER_02: So that's gonna be huge for us in giving the ball back to Joe.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: The second thing I would highlight, and it I don't know what's going on this year, guys, but penalties like Zach Taylor, give him credit.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: I mean, our team has been one of the least penalized teams in the league since he took over.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: And this year, I mean, everything's flipped on its head.
- 12:34SPEAKER_02: We are actually dead last in penalties, so they should be able to clean that up.
- 12:40SPEAKER_02: And I'll highlight two specific ones.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: Hold that with the penalties.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Don't you think two?
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: They've like that's probably what you're gonna talk about.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: Don't you think they've come at critical times too as well?
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 12:49SPEAKER_02: So, and we just talked about it.
- 12:51SPEAKER_02: So the the punt block, it you just can't have it because especially when it's a personal foul, it's gonna give the ball back to their offense.
- 12:59SPEAKER_02: So I think we're gonna clean that up.
- 13:00SPEAKER_02: You're not gonna see that again, hopefully again this year.
- 13:04SPEAKER_02: And the second one that really just drives you nuts.
- 13:07SPEAKER_02: I don't, I honestly, I don't know that it was the right call, but the uh the call on Mims, I think it might have been in the second quarter.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: Was it he was not lined up on the line of scrimmage?
- 13:19SPEAKER_02: His helmet, yeah, too far back.
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: He needs to be, you know, lined up with the belt, I guess it is, of the uh of the center.
- 13:27SPEAKER_02: And that actually, I think that negated a third down conversion we got on that play.
- 13:31SPEAKER_02: I think we hit T third and four.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, uh, so again, you know, the little uh you know pre-snap penalties.
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: If we can clean all that up, because we had a lot of those week one and two, actually, as well.
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: So if we can clean up the penalties, shore up punt return, I think the defense is gonna keep getting better.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: We just had a bad week, give Pittsburgh a credit for their game plan, but we're gonna bounce back, we'll be all right, Brian.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think it's all fixable.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: Uh, a lot of our penalties have been pre-snap uh penalties.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: Unfortunately, the ones on Sunday that were post-snap really hurt us.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: Mentioned the Mems one, the uh the Cedric Johnson penalty, and then Bobo's uh holding or illegal contact, whatever.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: Um, I think that negated a third down stop as well.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: So on offense, you pick up what you convert on third down penalty on defense, you get a third down.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: Uh Murphy got the sack.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: The one thing Murphy did on Sunday is he got a sack, and the poor guy gets a called back uh because Bobo held.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: Uh, I love the controversy because people thought Zach Taylor was looking at Bobo and saying those points are on you.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: He was talking to the ref.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, he was letting the ref know that's a freaking terrible.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: I didn't think it was I I was I was glad that Takario was physical.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: I didn't think it was that bad.
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: Turn your head a little bit more, like Brant always talks about, but I didn't think it was that bad.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Um, and then the other thing that uh because Joe, besides the fumble, Joe played his best game of the season, was spinning.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Uh here's the thing.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: Joe left yards out there on this game.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: He checked down uh the one negative play to Chase Brown, he got a little antsy, checked down way too early.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: He had time.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: Uh and there and there was guys open down the field.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: There was a play, he hits T and T gets a first down, which is great.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: But Jamar is T catches it and gets tackled.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: Jamar on the same play is white.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: There's nobody around him.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: There's no and and Jamar with how special he is after he gets the ball in his hands, he may he may score.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: He gets us closer.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: Um best thing is that's your best player that's gonna see that on film, and he's just gonna get better.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: This is third first third game of the season he was cooking.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: Uh, I feel like he's on track to where he's he's playing like he was in 2024, which is arguably his best season um stats-wise.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: So I think he there's a lot there that that's you don't say that that's necessarily a fix.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: Uh, I mean he put up 280 something yards, a couple touchdowns, but there's more to be had.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: Uh Joe will see it figure it out, and uh defenses that are coming up, Joe's gonna put three plus on you.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: So it'll be good.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we're gonna get a fix.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: We'll be all right.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Love the positive spin.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: And with Burrow, while he was fantastic, you know that stuff drives him nuts on when he liked using that with instead of checking it down to chase Brown for a negative four yards, having an opportunity, wait another half second, Jamar down the field.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: That stuff keeps Joe Burrow up at night.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: The reason I do think it will get fixed, uh, just last week we were screaming and yelling that we needed to replace our left tackle, Orlando Brown, against a very physical, very aggressive defense.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: And by the way, I'll give the Steelers credit.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: There's three edge guys, they've been rotating a lot more to keep them more fresh in the fourth quarter.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: Orlando gave up zero sacks and one pressure.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: And that pressure, to be honest, I don't know how it got considered.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: I look back, I'm like, that's not really a pressure.
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: Burr had already gotten rid of the ball, but stat is the stat.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: And so Orlando had a better day, much better day.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: He got a lot of help.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: I'll get all that's fine.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: That but the plan is work because I like the game plan.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I just like the game plan.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: But back to are we gonna fix it?
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: Clearly, we needed Orlando needed some help on some of these fast pass rushers, and instead of leaving them on an island and not doing anything, solved that.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: Hopefully that continues on, and Mims continues to excel.
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: But that's where I think some of these other areas, like you're talking about the tackling, the penalties, uh, Burrow missing the guys open.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: I think they're gonna continue to work itself out.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: The one last thing I will say, I don't, I was kind of sad when I heard Kishan Keyshawn Williams got cut, but he didn't perform.
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: This is a performance-based industry.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: You need to perform in those critical moments.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: I don't think this is in Zach Taylor's manner to nor and behavior to normally just cut somebody.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: And so I think the fact that he's willing to do that is trying to show to the team guys, we can't have this nonsense anymore.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: So third down, a lot of roster moves, Brian, this week.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: A lot of guys banged up.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: Want to get your thoughts on some of the shakeups in the roster.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think uh it kind of speaks to what we what we talked about before the season started is one thing we've always clamored for is don't, you know, don't be afraid to make moves on your on your 53rd guy on the rock on the roster.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: If there's somebody out there that's that's better, then let's do that.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: Uh you know, he had a mistake on Sunday.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: I think that's only part of the reason why he was he was cut.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: Good news is he's back on the practice squad.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: Uh with with Kobe Young going down.
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: Um you needed you needed another receiver anyway.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: Um and so and Tinsley, Tinsley kind of fits that mold.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: We're familiar with him.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: It's great.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: He knows the playbook.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: Good to have him.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: I like bringing in the two safeties um to the practice squad.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: Sounds like we're a little we've got some nagging injuries at at the safety mark, so I wouldn't be surprised if one of those guys gets uh gets bumped on Sunday, uh, and maybe even dresses on Sunday, so we have another safety that we can go to.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: So I like it because we're not we're not sitting on things, nothing, you know, nothing major moves, but it is, and like you said, it's it is a uh sure there was other things that that factored into him getting getting cut, but it is a message that when it's your turn, you got to step up and and you gotta make a play.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: Um or you gotta do the basics, right?
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: Block, tackle, catch it.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: Your job is to catch, field a punt, and field a punt.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: Um not that's a job that I would never want.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: I think that's one of the hardest things of doing football is to fill the punt.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: Um so then you got guys that are screaming for their livelihood down the field to take your head off.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: So credit to those that do it do it.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: Uh you know, Mr.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: Myers, make sure you get it done all Sunday.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: And if you take one of the house to the house for us, even better.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: So yeah, it's good.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: You can't you can't just can't rest.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: Uh Bengals know that.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: And they got to keep they're gonna have to keep doing these kind of moves throughout the season.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Um that's the that's the tone I got was that the front office is gonna continue to move and shake and do the things that they need to do to make sure that we're putting the best options on the field from performance and injuries.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: Brandt.
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think the one that really has a lot of repercussions for the whole secondary.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: I mean, Brian's kind of hit on the safeties, but uh, I think Jalen Davis going down and with the hamstring and going on IR, that the ripple effect from him going down and uh with Jasir Taylor already on IR.
- 21:35SPEAKER_02: Now our top two slot cornerbacks, you know, are down.
- 21:39SPEAKER_02: So uh, you know, big shout out to to Dax Hill though.
- 21:43SPEAKER_02: Um, just the comments that he made this week and just being ready to go, and and he's all in for the team.
- 21:50SPEAKER_02: He just wants to win, and a guy that really kind of got jerked around, quite honestly, for most of his Bengals career and finally had a had a home at outside corner.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: And now, you know, uh not, you know, it we just need him there.
- 22:05SPEAKER_02: So we need him at slot corner.
- 22:06SPEAKER_02: So Dax is gonna slide in.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: Uh, so I like that.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: And now, you know, Ivy's gonna get his gonna get his chance of replacing Dax on the outside.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: So we'll see what happens there.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: But uh, it's gonna be a new look defensive backfield.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: So I think that's gonna put all the more pressure on the defensive line to get back to performing the way they did in the first and second weeks, right?
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, beyond that, glad to see Tanner Hudson get back on the on the squad.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: You know, Joe likes him some Tanner.
- 22:41SPEAKER_03: That's it.
- 22:42SPEAKER_02: I think Tanner only had one more elevation before we weren't going to be able to elevate him again.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: So it just only made sense to to elevate Tanner and put him on the 53.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: Love it, love those moves.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: Fourth down.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: Let's get out of here, fellas.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: All right, all of Cincinnati.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: Houday Nation is on edge.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: Do we get back to the winning ways and the good vibes that surrounded us the first two weeks?
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: Brandt.
- 23:09SPEAKER_02: All right, I'm not gonna sugarcoat it.
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: Uh, this is gonna be the toughest game.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: I already told you guys.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: Toughest game of the year, I think.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: Toughest game of the year right now, week four.
- 23:18SPEAKER_02: Uh Jacksonville's humming already.
- 23:21SPEAKER_02: That defense with Liam Cohen.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: Calling plays.
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: I think he's a great offensive mind.
- 23:26SPEAKER_02: Trevor Lawrence is playing with a lot of confidence.
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: He's year two in Liam Cohen Cohen's system, so he just knows knows what has to happen.
- 23:35SPEAKER_02: Uh Tootin, he's fast, fellas.
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: Like he is fast, and I think they're gonna throw on that tape and see what Pittsburgh did run into the outside against us, and they're gonna test us early.
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: They're gonna test us early.
- 23:52SPEAKER_02: And the edges, they better be ready.
- 23:55SPEAKER_02: The corners better be ready.
- 23:56SPEAKER_02: Keep contained, linebackers better be tackling.
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: Uh, I think it's gonna be a shootout, fellas.
- 24:03SPEAKER_02: I think it's gonna be a shootout.
- 24:05SPEAKER_02: So uh defensively, protect Joe, always number one.
- 24:10SPEAKER_02: Uh Josh Hines uh Allen is having a good year.
- 24:13SPEAKER_02: He comes screaming off that edge.
- 24:15SPEAKER_02: Travon Walker, he's no slouch either on the other edge.
- 24:18SPEAKER_02: They got a good uh nose tackle who's clogging up the lanes for the run game.
- 24:23SPEAKER_02: Um, all around, this team is solid.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: So the Bengals better be ready.
- 24:28SPEAKER_02: Uh, but I think we bounce back.
- 24:30SPEAKER_02: I I think I think we pull out a money mac special teams player of the month, kick for a win, back at home.
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: So give me the Bengals 33-30 over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: Like it, Brian.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think we bounced back in the and two reasons.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: Number one is Houday Nation.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: Uh, they're gonna show we're gonna show up again on Sunday.
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be loud.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: Crowd note.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: The fans now we we need this one.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: Uh you know, two weeks on uh being on the road, now back at home.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: Uh, they're gonna be ready.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: So I think the fans are gonna make a big difference in this game.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: Hopefully, cause some pre-snap penalties for the Jags in this.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: Uh, last year, uh, I know he's playing well, but last year we had some success turning Trevor Lawrence over in that game.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: I think we can do the same.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: Uh DJ Turner, you've been playing like a you know, a Pro Bowl or even an all-pro at times.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: It's time for you to make that splash play, though.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: Uh big pick, take it to the house.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: Those are the types of differences in big games like this as a defensive touchdown or a special teams touchdown.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: Uh, I like us in this situation.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: I think we give Joe, I think the offensive line is kind of upset uh that they, you know, the mistakes they made were late in the game.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: Uh Joe got hit twice on, you know, late in the game.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: So I think the offensive line is ready, and I think Joe, I think uh Joe tears up that secondary.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: I think uh Jamar uh with his little with I'll say non-comments today is ready to light a former Heisman Trophy winner up.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: So I think the offense clicks, we'll put we put the points up.
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: It will be close.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: Jacksonville's obviously a good team, but it's gonna be a fight.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: It just reminds me of uh that 2024 year when we went into San Francisco.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: People didn't think we were gonna beat San Francisco, and I mean in the game, we kind of dominated that game, and then I think we beat Buffalo the next week.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: It kind of feels like that teams gotta teams gotta stand up.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: They're talking, you know, they're talking, we're gonna get it fixed.
- 26:45SPEAKER_00: We know who we are, then let then let's see it on Sunday.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: If you're a championship level team, championship Super Bowl teams lose games like they did last week.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: It happened happens, they lose games that you shouldn't lose, and and but they get it fixed.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: And so let's see it this week against a really good opponent.
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: It's such a great point.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: Buffalo doesn't scare me.
- 27:06SPEAKER_01: Division games are tough.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: Jacksonville is tough.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: They're gonna be there in the end.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: Nobody's gonna want to see this team in the playoffs.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: Brandt and I can tell you from being there at the opener.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: Brian is so right.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: That crowd is gonna play a critical, critical part of that.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: Super excited for this team to do what they say they're gonna do.
- 27:28SPEAKER_01: We're gonna learn all we need to know about the 2026 Cincinnati Bengals by this game.
- 27:34SPEAKER_01: You're playing an elite team.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: Now we are the ones that's injured, backed up into a corner.
- 27:41SPEAKER_01: Let's see how we come out and fight.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: I want to see it from the front four on the defensive side.
- 27:47SPEAKER_01: Our waves of defensive linemen that were cranking the first two weeks.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: You disappeared.
- 27:53SPEAKER_01: I want to see you back getting there in the jungle.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: I agree with Brian.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: I think Dax is also going to have a big turnover for all of his play on Sunday.
- 28:04SPEAKER_01: And I think Dante Myers takes one to the house to give us that extra little cushion that we need to keep us apart for the whole game.
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: You both the best.
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: Let's get the good juju and vibes going.
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: And who day all day?
