- 0:02Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garret.
- 0:07Speaker 2: All right, and welcome inside to the Alex Scarett Podcast Network.
- 0:10Speaker 2: After I left you with the voices of VISCARTI a
- 0:13Speaker 2: great presentation, by the way, I'm proud to have presented that.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Gabby and I trudged off to Hawthorne, New Jersey. Not
- 0:21Speaker 2: the way you'd think, though, because why would every station
- 0:24Speaker 2: in New Jersey be accessible via train? Why would the
- 0:28Speaker 2: NJ Transit, in all the tax paying dollars you know
- 0:31Speaker 2: New Jerseyans give them be accessible to every personal disabilities?
- 0:36Speaker 2: Why would they be right stupid me for thinking they were,
- 0:40Speaker 2: because they weren't. In fact, Gaby and I had to
- 0:42Speaker 2: go on wheels my skate her rugged power chair from
- 0:48Speaker 2: Patterson Great Town by the way, and all the way
- 0:53Speaker 2: through to Hawthorne. That's unacceptable that the Hawthorn transtation or
- 0:59Speaker 2: any train station is inaccessible. It's twenty frickin' twenty four. Well,
- 1:07Speaker 2: I digress. We had a great time once we got there,
- 1:10Speaker 2: to the Mark Sasso Memorial softball game run by Don
- 1:14Speaker 2: Lagreca and included participans like Danielle mccarton you might hear
- 1:19Speaker 2: on WFA and as well as one of my mentors,
- 1:23Speaker 2: the awesome Mark Erney.
- 1:26Speaker 3: All right, I'm here on the Alex Garrett podcast. Now
- 1:28Speaker 3: we're at the Mark Sasso Memorial Softball Game with the
- 1:32Speaker 3: one and only Mark Ernee and Mark, you're always on
- 1:34Speaker 3: the other side interviewing. I want to for you today,
- 1:37Speaker 3: what was like playing in today's annual softball game.
- 1:39Speaker 4: I was very glad to be able to do this.
- 1:42Speaker 4: I have been out with injury the last couple of seasons,
- 1:44Speaker 4: and to be back on the field for the first
- 1:47Speaker 4: time in a while felt really good.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Yeah, you're in right field, will win very nice.
- 1:52Speaker 4: I don't think I made any errors, at least that
- 1:55Speaker 4: anybody noticed, so that's good. And don had set the
- 1:59Speaker 4: bar pretty please don't die.
- 2:01Speaker 3: So here we died and we won, so ironically, I
- 2:05Speaker 3: almost think i've we almost got by a foul ball
- 2:07Speaker 3: the first steps we took.
- 2:08Speaker 2: So we didn't tell you that I was right.
- 2:10Speaker 1: That would have been very good.
- 2:11Speaker 3: All right, real quick, yes, sir, you're gonna hear it
- 2:13Speaker 3: on my podcast only say I'll ask you Yanks and Mets,
- 2:15Speaker 3: what's up with the slide?
- 2:16Speaker 4: Man?
- 2:17Speaker 3: It's just one's going up, one's going down right now?
- 2:19Speaker 4: Well, you know what I see this all the time.
- 2:22Speaker 4: In baseball is a marathon and not a sprint. And
- 2:24Speaker 4: it's a terrible cliche, but it's true. And if you remember,
- 2:28Speaker 4: the Mets started one five and everybody was bailing and
- 2:30Speaker 4: one of the Carlos Windoza fired, he was in over
- 2:33Speaker 4: his head and blah blah blah blah blah, and the
- 2:35Speaker 4: Mets are never gonna even see five hundred again. And well,
- 2:39Speaker 4: they started the game today. I know they lost, but
- 2:41Speaker 4: they started the day today a half game in front
- 2:43Speaker 4: of Atlanta for the number one wild card spot. So obviously,
- 2:47Speaker 4: you know, they proved all the naysayers wrong. And I
- 2:50Speaker 4: love listening to the so called experts who say nobody
- 2:52Speaker 4: saw this coming. Well again, if you consider the season
- 2:55Speaker 4: over at oh and five, then yeah, you didn't see
- 2:58Speaker 4: it coming.
- 2:58Speaker 1: But it's baseball. It happens. Same thing with the eggs.
- 3:03Speaker 4: You know. I listened to Aaron Judge after that loss
- 3:05Speaker 4: last night up in Boston. They were up seven to
- 3:07Speaker 4: four in the eighth inning and lost nine to seven,
- 3:09Speaker 4: and even Aaron Judges, it's baseball. It happened sometimes. And
- 3:12Speaker 4: you know the back end of the bullpen didn't get
- 3:14Speaker 4: the job done last night.
- 3:15Speaker 1: At Fenway. What can you do?
- 3:18Speaker 2: That's right.
- 3:19Speaker 4: They made a move today they picked up Jazz Chisholm.
- 3:21Speaker 4: That'll inject a little life into what's been a pretty
- 3:23Speaker 4: listless lineup. And you know, there was a whole backlash
- 3:27Speaker 4: against Luis Savarino last week in the.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Tech sets, right y hoop that he has and he's guys,
- 3:33Speaker 1: because you only have two hitters, and you know what
- 3:35Speaker 1: I mean, not for nothing.
- 3:36Speaker 4: It was right, it's Judge, it's Soto, and it's been
- 3:38Speaker 4: pretty much nobody after that.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Every once in a while he gets some life.
- 3:41Speaker 4: Ben Rice contributes, Austin Wells contributes, but buy in line
- 3:45Speaker 4: for Dugo.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Every once in a while, the Razza Cabrera. But by
- 3:51Speaker 1: and large, you know, they have.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Had up until today, since the middle of June, losing
- 3:56Speaker 4: twenty three out of thirty three, second worst record in baseball.
- 3:59Speaker 1: And they remember they started fifty to twenty two.
- 4:02Speaker 4: So you know, they say, Alex, you're never as good
- 4:06Speaker 4: as when you're at your best, and you're never as
- 4:08Speaker 4: bad as when you're at your worst.
- 4:09Speaker 1: It's baseball. You're in the middle summer helping the Orioles.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Losing is helping a little bit.
- 4:14Speaker 4: But the fact that they're not able to take advantage
- 4:17Speaker 4: of the Orioles.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Losing is not a good sign.
- 4:21Speaker 4: And so you figure with the Chishm move today, and
- 4:24Speaker 4: they only gave up three prospects who most people never
- 4:27Speaker 4: heard of before this morning. Anyway, They've got Garrett coleback
- 4:31Speaker 4: who's still trying to find his stride. They got Chazz
- 4:36Speaker 4: Chisholm from the Marlins for three prospects.
- 4:39Speaker 3: And maybe more down the pipe.
- 4:40Speaker 4: They may get Tanner Scott from Miami yet before the
- 4:42Speaker 4: deadline coming up this week. So there's still a lot
- 4:45Speaker 4: infield in outfield, No, no, Tanner Scott lefty close yeah
- 4:50Speaker 4: yeah yeah, midfielder outfielding.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Oh you please field yeah yeah.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Well we'll see what Laboratorio's future is now. They got
- 4:55Speaker 3: Chisholm right by the way. Before you go, I gotta
- 4:58Speaker 3: say thank you because.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Fifteen years ago, was it that long ago?
- 5:00Speaker 3: That was you took me under your wing at the
- 5:03Speaker 3: US Open, and here we are an interview on my podcast.
- 5:05Speaker 3: So thank you.
- 5:06Speaker 1: We have come full CIRCLEO man.
- 5:08Speaker 3: There you go, and hopefully a longer conversation down the
- 5:10Speaker 3: road in one of these days. There you go, Mark
- 5:12Speaker 3: and a ten ten wins on.
- 5:13Speaker 1: The Alex Guy. That guy exactly the sound guy.
- 5:17Speaker 3: There you go.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I'm so glad Mark was able to catch up with
- 5:21Speaker 2: us for a few minutes on the podcast, and I
- 5:23Speaker 2: want to shout out Niffin and our media for hanging
- 5:27Speaker 2: out with us for most of the game, as well
- 5:29Speaker 2: as Julian Gulardi. We just had him on the podcast.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Julian and he was out at the Mark sm Memorial
- 5:36Speaker 2: softball game in Hawthorne, New Jersey. And then we also
- 5:40Speaker 2: got to meet the d n R company. Check out
- 5:43Speaker 2: what Lannie and the crew had to say, not only
- 5:46Speaker 2: in our media, but the Alex Garrett podcast network.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I'm Alex Garrett, you're with the company where you guys
- 5:53Speaker 3: very active on Twitter. First of all, thanks for taking
- 5:57Speaker 3: us multi tell us the origination of the company.
- 6:01Speaker 5: That's all would we want, uh whatevergination of the company
- 6:04Speaker 5: was basically just in front of friends and listeners of
- 6:07Speaker 5: the BE and af.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Or shows to get together and if.
- 6:10Speaker 5: We always just basically came together and now we're basically
- 6:13Speaker 5: like we used to big fan club.
- 6:15Speaker 1: We kind of listening to.
- 6:16Speaker 5: All the stations, maybe all when we just in a school,
- 6:19Speaker 5: d and all when we listened to who kids being
- 6:21Speaker 5: ating on TP as.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Ned the Greeny Marine or everybody.
- 6:28Speaker 3: So if we always try.
- 6:29Speaker 5: To come out to these events, that's w We also
- 6:31Speaker 5: influencial support to anything that the station does. So yeah,

- 6:45Speaker 5: Well, it's just a great event because you get to
- 6:47Speaker 5: meet people like you get to do people like ninth
- 6:48Speaker 5: then uh who's behind the camera. You get to network
- 6:52Speaker 5: where people indiup doing things like this as well, and
- 6:56Speaker 5: then you just get to meet who people like I
- 6:58Speaker 5: said it just then you get to meet the whole
- 7:00Speaker 5: get to me do people that you get to listen
- 7:02Speaker 5: to that's pretty cool as well, actually get the shape
- 7:05Speaker 5: their hands, even the people that they actually own radio
- 7:08Speaker 5: hopefully just different.
- 7:09Speaker 4: People in general.
- 7:10Speaker 3: I wanna throw the spressional all three of you. Actually
- 7:13Speaker 3: you even had a big event with the Mets Cubs
- 7:15Speaker 3: game or get the right right when you saw the turnout.
- 7:18Speaker 2: But that were you got surprise?
- 7:19Speaker 3: Were you like? What was the reaction?
- 7:21Speaker 4: Uh?
- 7:21Speaker 5: Nah, I wasn't necessarily surprised, cause we was there the
- 7:24Speaker 5: first year, so we kind of knew how it was
- 7:26Speaker 5: gonna be. I feel like actually the first year was
- 7:28Speaker 5: a little bit more people at Republicans, but the tailgate
- 7:34Speaker 5: and everything was pretty was pretty cute. Like this year
- 7:36Speaker 5: with the tailgate, I feel like it was a bit bigger
- 7:38Speaker 5: because then a you know, it's select few of other people.
- 7:41Speaker 5: But this year was that would say, there the crazies,
- 7:43Speaker 5: I'll give the mike to Bobby so he could give
- 7:45Speaker 5: this respective.
- 7:46Speaker 4: U I was gonna say.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:47Speaker 4: We even had a few more people.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Black, Patty and s connected it and came down m area.
- 7:55Speaker 1: So that like a company. But now shout out your Patty, Uh,
- 7:57Speaker 1: shout out of Patty.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Yet it was awesome any you had those over those
- 8:01Speaker 3: Mets over us, I mean Yankees, that was pretty awesome.
- 8:06Speaker 3: But it's been amazing and being able to be a
- 8:09Speaker 3: part of it.
- 8:09Speaker 5: And expand up towards us, it's just phenomenal, you know,
- 8:13Speaker 5: to bring all these people together.
- 8:15Speaker 4: We did a Yankee game last year.
- 8:18Speaker 3: That was my first first foray into it, and it
- 8:22Speaker 3: was just an amazing experiences. You know, guys, sometimes we're
- 8:26Speaker 3: gonna calling, you know, just to calling, but a lot
- 8:28Speaker 3: of these people would come to Staples of the network, right,
- 8:31Speaker 3: So how do you guys stay connected with your callings?
- 8:34Speaker 4: That seems like I didn't.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's not even it's not only just cold
- 8:39Speaker 1: as that.
- 8:39Speaker 5: It's in the community and that people who don't hold
- 8:41Speaker 5: it up.
- 8:42Speaker 1: So it's more none.
- 8:44Speaker 5: Close as we old old Sure.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Boyd just hit it some cool pretty much here? What's
- 8:57Speaker 1: the tradition from nice teasay?
- 8:59Speaker 4: You know?
- 9:01Speaker 5: Oh, I know, Alan basically had to drag him outside
- 9:04Speaker 5: of the basement of his house, per se and get
- 9:07Speaker 5: him to do that.
- 9:08Speaker 4: And I can only think I can.
- 9:10Speaker 5: Only thank Alan for that if he put report a
- 9:13Speaker 5: lot to the radio as far as like funniness, uh,
- 9:18Speaker 5: showing that.
- 9:18Speaker 4: He's always here.
- 9:20Speaker 5: I mean obviously he had to shop in his jos
- 9:22Speaker 5: alone most the time.
- 9:24Speaker 1: His knife is definitely shocked. Now, how about if.
- 9:28Speaker 4: Not for Allen, I'm you know, I mean, I know.
- 9:30Speaker 5: Ricorder probably did it regardless of those, but.
- 9:32Speaker 1: I know Allan and his music gonna give me.
- 9:34Speaker 4: The book the show.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Think you didn't hit you? And Rick is great man,
- 9:39Speaker 1: He's for you know.
- 9:40Speaker 5: I wish he I knew he wishes he still because
- 9:42Speaker 5: it didn't he wanted to be on the ice. Definitely
- 9:45Speaker 5: that hurts at the time.
- 9:46Speaker 1: But he's a gold.
- 9:48Speaker 5: One on Radio twelve on end up voting on ice.

- 11:05Speaker 2: The first thing that happened was a foul ball nearly
- 11:08Speaker 2: hit Gabby and I in right field, and they had
- 11:12Speaker 2: a long distance to get that foul ball, but we
- 11:16Speaker 2: were fine. I threw the ball into the Yes, Mark
