Latest / The Paul Barron Crypto Show / First FREE Mobile Plan with Crypto Rewards!🚨 Helium $HNT INTERVIEW
Transcript
- 0:07Speaker 1: Today we're going to dive in a little bit to
- 0:09Speaker 1: a free crypto cell plan and we're gonna break it
- 0:12Speaker 1: down for you guys. You're gonna want to check this
- 0:14Speaker 1: one out. My name is Paul Barren. Welcome back in
- 0:15Speaker 1: the tech path and let's get started. I do want
- 0:18Speaker 1: to thank our sponsor, and that is Tangeum. This is
- 0:20Speaker 1: a great place for you guys to get out there
- 0:22Speaker 1: and get your self custody plan on. If you haven't
- 0:25Speaker 1: already started your self custody journey, this is a great spot.
- 0:28Speaker 1: And of course, the thing about Tangum is this is
- 0:30Speaker 1: a card works with both your iOS phone or an
- 0:33Speaker 1: Android phone, very easy to set up, works in conjunction
- 0:36Speaker 1: with a very slick app. And the cool thing about
- 0:39Speaker 1: tangem also.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Is it's very secure.
- 0:42Speaker 1: So you guys can of course use our link down
- 0:44Speaker 1: below and there there's going to be they're giving actually
- 0:46Speaker 1: an additional discount on this, so use the link PBN
- 0:50Speaker 1: down there for additional discounts and get started on your
- 0:53Speaker 1: own self custody journey. All right, so I want to
- 0:55Speaker 1: talk about where Helium Mobile has been going. Obviously everybody
- 0:59Speaker 1: knows the big announcement was the free plan we're going
- 1:02Speaker 1: to be covering all that today with a special guest.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I want to go to the first notification here or
- 1:08Speaker 1: clip here that will give us an insight to just
- 1:11Speaker 1: how big this is.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 1:13Speaker 3: There are over five hundred thousand square miles of the
- 1:17Speaker 3: US unreachable by any cell phone tower. Teambile partnered with
- 1:23Speaker 3: Starlink to launch hundreds of satellites, creating the only space
- 1:27Speaker 3: based network. And because connection means everything, we're inviting anyone
- 1:34Speaker 3: on any wireless carrier to experience it for free. If
- 1:40Speaker 3: you can see the sky, you are connected.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Your phone will automatically connect to the satellites and you'll
- 1:45Speaker 4: see this symbol here.
- 1:47Speaker 3: You'll even get a welcome notification where you can learn more.
- 1:49Speaker 2: And that's it all right.
- 1:52Speaker 1: So this was a Super Bowl ad that aired, of course,
- 1:54Speaker 1: this weekend, and this was a big deal because it showcased,
- 1:58Speaker 1: I think a very uni nique scenario that is going
- 2:01Speaker 1: on right now, and it's a space race essentially for
- 2:05Speaker 1: what will be terrestrial mobile. And if you look at
- 2:07Speaker 1: Starlink's website right here, you can kind of see just
- 2:10Speaker 1: the coverage of what starlink has. Those red dots there
- 2:13Speaker 1: are like these land units. The rest of the course
- 2:15Speaker 1: are all low Earth orbiting satellites. But the point being
- 2:19Speaker 1: is that this is now going head to head with
- 2:22Speaker 1: another company out there that's called STS, which.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Is Space Mobile.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Now they see the potential here of really going into
- 2:30Speaker 1: kind of this next era of growth, which is three
- 2:33Speaker 1: point seven billion of non subscribed cellular users out there.
- 2:37Speaker 1: So there's a big market for this, both on the
- 2:41Speaker 1: existing group of people that have all sorts of access
- 2:44Speaker 1: right now to a lot of people three point seven
- 2:47Speaker 1: billion right now that do not, so a lot of
- 2:50Speaker 1: opportunity here going forward. And I want to take a
- 2:52Speaker 1: look quickly at this clip here and you'll learn a
- 2:55Speaker 1: little bit more about what AST Mobile is, space Mobile is.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 3:01Speaker 4: We successfully launched and unfolded our first five Bluebird satellites,
- 3:05Speaker 4: the largest ever commercial communications arrays in low Earth orbit.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Google and Verizon joined our mission. We also signed definitive
- 3:14Speaker 4: commercial agreements with AT and T in Vodafone.
- 3:18Speaker 5: So by the end of twenty twenty five, we expect
- 3:21Speaker 5: AST to have launched seventeen satellites, one with the Isro,
- 3:25Speaker 5: eight with SpaceX, and a further eight with Blue Origin.
- 3:28Speaker 5: Tantalizingly close to the twenty five satellites needed to start generating.
- 3:32Speaker 6: Revenue, but thirty percent of the outstanding shares are shorted.
- 3:37Speaker 5: What do you say to those shorts about the ability
- 3:39Speaker 5: to make this discussion and reality.
- 3:42Speaker 6: Well, we think what we have is very highly differentiated
- 3:44Speaker 6: technology and excellent partners that we've been in.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Like SpaceX that you're competing against.
- 3:48Speaker 6: Yes, exactly, So what we're doing is very different. Cellular
- 3:52Speaker 6: broadband from space is very different from SOS or texts.
- 3:55Speaker 2: So all right, so that's the big difference there.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Their CEO talking about this cell or broadband meaning phone
- 4:01Speaker 1: just like you normally use it, versus what we're seeing
- 4:04Speaker 1: with starlink, which is going to be a SOS and
- 4:08Speaker 1: or tech space scenarios. If you look at the stock
- 4:10Speaker 1: right now and ask dyes right there up around almost
- 4:13Speaker 1: forty bucks. This was back in August of last year.
- 4:16Speaker 1: It had been declining until around January, which then is
- 4:20Speaker 1: when we started to.
- 4:21Speaker 2: See this takeoff right here.
- 4:22Speaker 1: And of course that could have been because of a
- 4:24Speaker 1: lot of these birds that they're up starting to get
- 4:26Speaker 1: up in the air, and we wanted to dive in
- 4:28Speaker 1: a little bit of what kind of plans and companies
- 4:31Speaker 1: is this going to affect because this space race is
- 4:34Speaker 1: going to be significant for the mobile market, and one
- 4:37Speaker 1: of the key mobile companies that are starting to make
- 4:40Speaker 1: a play is Helium and of course Helium Mobile statu
- 4:43Speaker 1: can kind of take a look here. We'll talk to
- 4:44Speaker 1: Frank here in a second about which carriers are going in.
- 4:47Speaker 1: But look at the daily transfer, daily users continuing to grow, hotspots.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Also mobile sign ups all this.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Of course, this little bump right there that you see
- 4:57Speaker 1: is coming in from their free plan which just got
- 4:59Speaker 1: announced here. All right, so let's welcome Frank Munk, the
- 5:02Speaker 1: coo over at Helium Mobile into the show.
- 5:05Speaker 7: Oh how are you? Thanks for having me again?
- 5:08Speaker 2: You bet so.
- 5:08Speaker 1: We got to get into a lot of what's happening
- 5:10Speaker 1: out there. First of all, when you look at the
- 5:13Speaker 1: current status of what is going on within what you
- 5:17Speaker 1: guys are doing the free plan, we want to dive
- 5:19Speaker 1: into all that good stuff. The market seems fairly large
- 5:22Speaker 1: here if you look at the total addressable market for
- 5:25Speaker 1: new emerging markets but also the existing markets, Which do
- 5:28Speaker 1: you feel is where you guys fit?
- 5:31Speaker 7: Yeah, I think it's an interesting comparison with the videos
- 5:36Speaker 7: you showed earlier. Tea Mobile and starlinked and pretty amazing
- 5:41Speaker 7: ability to give you connection via satellite when you're outside.
- 5:45Speaker 7: I think Helium actually is in a fairly unique place
- 5:48Speaker 7: where while these companies are continuing to build different ways
- 5:53Speaker 7: to get to the Internet, I would say it's still
- 5:55Speaker 7: highly centralized, and it's really owned by one entity or
- 6:00Speaker 7: a couple of large entities. And our technology is really
- 6:03Speaker 7: meant to leverage as many ways to connect to the
- 6:06Speaker 7: Internet as possible. And so if starlink becomes a defective
- 6:10Speaker 7: standard on how people connect to the Internet, I think
- 6:14Speaker 7: a Healium mobile approach or a Healium network approach where
- 6:18Speaker 7: individuals can propagate that and share that indoors is still
- 6:24Speaker 7: really right up our alley. We've figured out with our
- 6:27Speaker 7: economic model how to incentivize individuals to continue to share
- 6:32Speaker 7: their bandwidth. I think of it as like, you have
- 6:35Speaker 7: excess bandwidth you're not using, why not share it with others?
- 6:38Speaker 7: And that technology and that incentive model I think works
- 6:42Speaker 7: regardless of how the backbone what we call backbone or
- 6:45Speaker 7: the last mile, regardless of how you're connecting to the Internet.
- 6:49Speaker 7: The active sharing is really what our economic model does.
- 6:53Speaker 2: So this doesn't you don't think this.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Either winner on this space race is good for Helium
- 6:58Speaker 1: or it appears to be. Is that kind of your
- 7:01Speaker 1: position right now? Doesn't really matter who wins, and if
- 7:03Speaker 1: we have multiple winners, Helium still wins.
- 7:06Speaker 7: I think it's great for Healium, and I think it's
- 7:08Speaker 7: great for society in general to have different ways of
- 7:12Speaker 7: connecting to the Internet, whether it be it your cable provider,
- 7:15Speaker 7: your sell provider, or a new provider that's via satellite.
- 7:19Speaker 7: So I think all those options are great. I think
- 7:21Speaker 7: the question becomes what part of that does the individual own?
- 7:26Speaker 7: Do you own the data, do you own the connectivity?
- 7:29Speaker 7: Are you able to share? And are you able to
- 7:31Speaker 7: monetize your sharing? That's to me the big question. I
- 7:35Speaker 7: think Helium is the only company that's answering that.
- 7:38Speaker 1: All right, so Helium of course on the T Mobile
- 7:40Speaker 1: network when you sign up for Helium. We'll get into
- 7:43Speaker 1: the plans here in a second. But because of this
- 7:46Speaker 1: partnership with Startlink, do I by de facto service, do
- 7:50Speaker 1: I have that SOS and text of availability on a
- 7:53Speaker 1: T Mobile or on a Helium plan through T Mobile?
- 7:57Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm not directly involved with that part. But also
- 8:00Speaker 7: I don't know the answers to that. But according to
- 8:03Speaker 7: their website and their landing page, if you're applying to
- 8:06Speaker 7: be in the data program, it looks like any carrier
- 8:10Speaker 7: phone plan works, so you might have to be a
- 8:11Speaker 7: Team Obile customer or Starlink customer. I think they're in
- 8:15Speaker 7: quote unquote data today trying to test that out and
- 8:17Speaker 7: scale it.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Interesting, all right, So it's probably all going to be
- 8:20Speaker 1: based on the backhall plans, all right. So let's get
- 8:23Speaker 1: into the new plans themselves. So you've got a couple
- 8:26Speaker 1: of new things. This recently launched, which is the free plan,
- 8:31Speaker 1: by far one of the most i would say groundbreaking
- 8:34Speaker 1: things that we've seen in mobile.
- 8:36Speaker 2: We have not seen this.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Before in terms of free This is a big deal. Now,
- 8:41Speaker 1: granted it's not just some measly you know, know nothing plan.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I mean, it's a fairly decent plan. You're giving away
- 8:47Speaker 1: like one hundred minutes and what is it, three gigs
- 8:49Speaker 1: of data, So definitely usable for some people who need it,
- 8:54Speaker 1: who maybe are not, you know, using a mobile device
- 8:57Speaker 1: every day. But do you feel like this is the
- 9:00Speaker 1: gateway for adoption for Helium or what was the real
- 9:04Speaker 1: strategy here? Just as a gimmick.
- 9:07Speaker 7: Well, definitely not a gimmick. We've been in the market
- 9:10Speaker 7: now for about a year with an unlimited plan, and
- 9:13Speaker 7: our approach to that was really early tech adopters, crypto investors,
- 9:18Speaker 7: or crypto curious folks, really a lot of people I
- 9:21Speaker 7: would say Paul that watch your show, and what we
- 9:24Speaker 7: want to do is expand the audience beyond that, so
- 9:27Speaker 7: beyond the traditional healium community, beyond the Salona community, beyond
- 9:31Speaker 7: the crypto community. And while we were doing a lot
- 9:36Speaker 7: of surveys and talking to our customers, what we realized
- 9:39Speaker 7: was that our original alumined plan had the biggest impact
- 9:43Speaker 7: and was the most helpful for folks that are very
- 9:46Speaker 7: budget oriented. They're financially savvy, budget oriented, and they're either
- 9:51Speaker 7: saving for something bigger in the future for their lives
- 9:54Speaker 7: or they're actually saving now and balancing their monthly expenses
- 9:59Speaker 7: with everything going up. Like I think, cost of eggs
- 10:02Speaker 7: are astronomical, gas sling prices are astronomical. So as inflation increases,
- 10:08Speaker 7: tax increases, the fear of tariffs increase, we thought, what
- 10:11Speaker 7: better way to approach that market of financial responsibility of
- 10:15Speaker 7: budgeting with a free plan that's very usable. This isn't
- 10:19Speaker 7: going to allow you to watch YouTube every single day.
- 10:22Speaker 7: Fall someone can't stream your channel constantly twenty four to
- 10:25Speaker 7: seven for a month. That's not going to work. However,
- 10:28Speaker 7: if you just want to plan right with three gigs
- 10:30Speaker 7: of data and you need some texts and you're going
- 10:32Speaker 7: to make some calls, and most of the time you're
- 10:34Speaker 7: doing something else, this is perfect and I think this
- 10:38Speaker 7: is probably a great plan for really the majority of
- 10:42Speaker 7: the majority of Americans today.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Well, you also have the of the three plans, the
- 10:48Speaker 1: ten gigabyte plan, which is the air plan. I'm just
- 10:51Speaker 1: going to show you guys quickly here this is the
- 10:54Speaker 1: zero plan. So you're talking about right now, what do
- 10:58Speaker 1: we got here? Yeah, so there it is one hundred
- 11:01Speaker 1: minutes voice, three hunderd tax, three gig. Then you go
- 11:04Speaker 1: over to the air plan. This is the one that
- 11:06Speaker 1: I have found pretty effective. And this even went down,
- 11:10Speaker 1: you know, because it was like twenty bucks. Now it's fifteen.
- 11:13Speaker 1: And this one, of course gets gives you a ten
- 11:15Speaker 1: gigabyte of data and unlimited text and calls. So this
- 11:18Speaker 1: is most likely going to be the more popular one.
- 11:20Speaker 1: But for I mean, come on, frank, fifteen dollars. This
- 11:23Speaker 1: is a great plan compared to most carriers, So that
- 11:27Speaker 1: in itself going forward, do you feel like the adoption
- 11:30Speaker 1: because I know that right now it's still you kind
- 11:33Speaker 1: of have to you're still on a weight list. Is
- 11:35Speaker 1: that is when you guys going to open up the
- 11:37Speaker 1: weight list? When does that happen?
- 11:40Speaker 7: Yeah, So we started with the waitlist for a number
- 11:42Speaker 7: of reasons. We want to launch quickly, and so not
- 11:46Speaker 7: all of our features are all in place, and we'll
- 11:49Speaker 7: talk a little bit more about the cloud points and
- 11:51Speaker 7: the cloud store. Yeah, that's going to work. Like that's
- 11:53Speaker 7: a great example where that module is not quite ready yet,
- 11:56Speaker 7: but we didn't want to hold up the launch just
- 11:58Speaker 7: because one part of it wasn't ready. The other piece
- 12:01Speaker 7: is just simply there's a physical limitation of inventory that
- 12:05Speaker 7: we have some phones and some folks still have this
- 12:08Speaker 7: issue where they have to get a physical SIM. So
- 12:11Speaker 7: there's a little physical chip that we plug into the
- 12:13Speaker 7: phone so they can connect to cellular towers and so forth.
- 12:18Speaker 7: Most of us with modern phones use a SIMS, but
- 12:20Speaker 7: there's still our phones with pie SIMS, and so we've
- 12:23Speaker 7: run out of p sims. As an example, the overwhelming
- 12:25Speaker 7: demand of this has been so high we just couldn't
- 12:28Speaker 7: figure out what the forecast there, and so there's a
- 12:31Speaker 7: number of factors for us to keep it as a
- 12:34Speaker 7: restricted launch. We launched the invitation only just so we
- 12:38Speaker 7: can watch and manage supply chain, make sure we're there,
- 12:41Speaker 7: and also give us time to actually plug in the
- 12:44Speaker 7: cloud store module when that's ready. So for now it
- 12:47Speaker 7: is invite only, and as we test this over time,
- 12:51Speaker 7: we're also looking at how popular is the free plan
- 12:54Speaker 7: versus air versus Infinity. Where do people really land right?
- 12:59Speaker 7: Do they really is a free plan enough for them?
- 13:01Speaker 7: Or they really need the fifteen dollars planet a thirty
- 13:04Speaker 7: dollars plan, So we're looking at all of those factors
- 13:06Speaker 7: right now. I can't give you a date on when
- 13:09Speaker 7: the invites will go away, but Paul, I do have
- 13:11Speaker 7: a great surprise for you. There is an invitation code
- 13:14Speaker 7: for you, Paul, So if folks are watching you now
- 13:16Speaker 7: use invite code Paul. They're in awesome. They is skipped
- 13:20Speaker 7: a waitlist.
- 13:21Speaker 2: I like it. We've had a chance to.
- 13:24Speaker 1: We actually got notified to that today, So thank you
- 13:26Speaker 1: so much for doing that for the audience and for
- 13:28Speaker 1: those of you out there right now. We'll leave a
- 13:30Speaker 1: link down below so you can't get access to that, Frank,
- 13:33Speaker 1: So talk to me about cloud because this is something
- 13:36Speaker 1: that we've tested this on legacy Helium mobile devices that
- 13:41Speaker 1: we have, and then the new mobile device with the.
- 13:44Speaker 2: New app update.
- 13:46Speaker 1: And when I get into the new mobile update, we
- 13:48Speaker 1: just added an Air account just last week, cloud point
- 13:52Speaker 1: shows up, but no wallet shows up. But in the
- 13:55Speaker 1: legacy app, the wallet is still there earning healing now
- 14:01Speaker 1: Helium tokens. But in the new Air account, I'm earning
- 14:06Speaker 1: cloud points which aren't necessarily available just yet. Are you
- 14:09Speaker 1: going to make that a toggle to where people who
- 14:12Speaker 1: come in in the Air account that could say, yeah,
- 14:14Speaker 1: I want cloud points or do I want to earn Helium
- 14:16Speaker 1: tokens and put it in my wallet?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Would that be a possibility.
- 14:20Speaker 7: It is a possibility. It's not there today. The toggle
- 14:23Speaker 7: that you mentioned between do I want cloud points or
- 14:26Speaker 7: do I want to earn Crypto essentially or H and
- 14:29Speaker 7: T in this case, which do I prefer? It's not
- 14:32Speaker 7: there today. So if you are what we call the
- 14:35Speaker 7: twenty dollars and limited plan subscriber or the five dollars
- 14:38Speaker 7: and limited plan subscribe, So if even with us for
- 14:40Speaker 7: a year year and a half. Don't worry. You continue
- 14:43Speaker 7: to earn crypto. You're going to earn H and T.
- 14:47Speaker 7: We can talk more about H and T Versus Mobile
- 14:48Speaker 7: and so forth, but you're you're going to earn crypto
- 14:51Speaker 7: and that's fine.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Move Can you move that account just like a normal
- 14:55Speaker 1: like if you're if you're graduating from one phone to
- 14:57Speaker 1: the other, you can still take that leg playing over
- 15:00Speaker 1: to the new phone.
- 15:02Speaker 7: Absolutely so huge. If you're a customer with us, whatever
- 15:05Speaker 7: plan you're on, you can stay on that plan if
- 15:08Speaker 7: you choose to do so. We're not going to take
- 15:10Speaker 7: it away from you, and that can just continue. If
- 15:13Speaker 7: you're new to Healing Mobile and you have an invite
- 15:16Speaker 7: code and you come in with us for the first time,
- 15:19Speaker 7: you're only going to have access to cloud points which
- 15:23Speaker 7: allow you to earn gift cards and so forth eventually
- 15:26Speaker 7: when the store opens. But there is no toggle today. Paul. Again,
- 15:31Speaker 7: our focus is to really go and connect and engage
- 15:36Speaker 7: with that budget oriented buyer, the finance buyer, you know,
- 15:41Speaker 7: the person that's trying to trying to like really figure
- 15:43Speaker 7: out their finances and get ahead in life. That's the
- 15:46Speaker 7: person we're trying to target. And we don't know if
- 15:49Speaker 7: that person likes crypto or understands crypto. But with cloud points,
- 15:54Speaker 7: you don't have to. And that's that's really the point. Now,
- 15:58Speaker 7: if we find that the crypto space expands greatly and
- 16:02Speaker 7: everyone wants crypto or understands it, certainly, I think we've
- 16:06Speaker 7: got to consider the toggle button, which you be talked about.
- 16:10Speaker 2: To make it available.
- 16:11Speaker 1: We've got to make it available toggle in there, in
- 16:13Speaker 1: and out of cloud to crypto, Cloud to crypto. There's
- 16:16Speaker 1: the marketing campaign, right.
- 16:18Speaker 7: I want you, I want your viewers to comment toggle
- 16:21Speaker 7: if you want to get comment toggle.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Now, we're going to drive it. We're going to drive
- 16:27Speaker 2: this one because I need.
- 16:30Speaker 7: Toggle. Yeah, let's go. I like it.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Get the toggle T shirt.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Let's talk about one of the cool things about Helium
- 16:38Speaker 1: that people kind of forget, and that is the potential
- 16:42Speaker 1: for your device to now be kind of almost like.
- 16:45Speaker 2: A web mesh tool. This app right here.
- 16:49Speaker 1: We were looking at this on a local shopping center.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Most of these right here have Helium mobile spots. And
- 16:58Speaker 1: then when we went in and took a look at this,
- 17:01Speaker 1: this was from one of the locations of what they
- 17:04Speaker 1: were able to learn. This is the fresh dejeon Wolverine
- 17:07Speaker 1: right there in Florida, down in Miami, and look at
- 17:10Speaker 1: this craziness. This is the data that they were transferring.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Right there's the tokens that they've earned in Helium and
- 17:16Speaker 1: then you can kind of see the total tokens earned
- 17:18Speaker 1: there right now mobile. So I mean, this is a
- 17:21Speaker 1: pretty significant amount of tokens for anybody that's out there using.
- 17:26Speaker 2: One of these hot spots.
- 17:27Speaker 1: And if you haven't seen this Helium hotspot, this is
- 17:29Speaker 1: another fantastic product out of Helium that makes your business
- 17:32Speaker 1: or your either I guess your home as well a
- 17:35Speaker 1: hotspot for your local community. You earn points and all
- 17:38Speaker 1: that good stuff. This is a big deal. So why
- 17:41Speaker 1: not First of all, is this going to be available
- 17:44Speaker 1: on the mobile? Well, the mobile devices at some point
- 17:46Speaker 1: be able to be a hot spot and be utilized
- 17:48Speaker 1: within the network.
- 17:51Speaker 7: Right, So the film plan allows your phone to be
- 17:54Speaker 7: a hot spot for other devices. Right, there is a
- 17:58Speaker 7: limit of amount of data that you can use and transfer.
- 18:01Speaker 7: I don't recall the exact limit because you can find
- 18:04Speaker 7: that online. Now can you earn crypto or points for
- 18:09Speaker 7: sharing that? The answer is no for now, And I
- 18:15Speaker 7: kind of like where you're going with this because it
- 18:17Speaker 7: does make sense to turn everything that you can into
- 18:21Speaker 7: a sharing device, a hotspot where you can earn crypto.
- 18:24Speaker 7: So I do like that thought. I don't know if
- 18:27Speaker 7: that's something we will do in the future, but I'll
- 18:31Speaker 7: definitely put that on the list of features to consider,
- 18:34Speaker 7: and we'll call it maybe the Paul Baron feature if
- 18:36Speaker 7: we do it.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Okay, all right, so let's go to a clip here.
- 18:41Speaker 2: This is a good one.
- 18:42Speaker 1: It's about T Mobile and an H and T Helium
- 18:47Speaker 1: take a look at this.
- 18:48Speaker 8: And the better that my network becomes, and the better
- 18:51Speaker 8: that your network becomes, then again, the better the experiences
- 18:54Speaker 8: for everybody. And that you know, again is creating value.
- 18:58Speaker 8: So we look forward to, you know, seeing your subscriber
- 19:02Speaker 8: base get bigger, which is my subscriber base at the
- 19:05Speaker 8: same time, and everybody's benefiting from it. So maybe that
- 19:09Speaker 8: leads to Mobile down a different path of innovation at
- 19:11Speaker 8: some other point in time where we actually incorporate blockchain
- 19:14Speaker 8: into how we do business. We don't run or own
- 19:18Speaker 8: or use the blockchain the same way that that Helium.
- 19:20Speaker 7: Does, obviously, so but we're interested in that. It's fun,
- 19:22Speaker 7: it's interesting.
- 19:23Speaker 8: If I could go convince you know, my CFO to
- 19:26Speaker 8: to you know, expand my budget and let me go
- 19:30Speaker 8: buy a ton of some currency and stake it and
- 19:32Speaker 8: generate a bunch of incremental revenue. That would be amazing,
- 19:35Speaker 8: Like that would be my own personal goal for the year.
- 19:37Speaker 8: But again, it's a little bit harder making those kinds
- 19:41Speaker 8: of decisions in an environment that has this risk of volatility,
- 19:46Speaker 8: and you know, to get to the value to where
- 19:49Speaker 8: people are either being paid or paying right, so there's
- 19:52Speaker 8: the transaction stuff there, it has to become.
- 19:55Speaker 7: A lot easier to use.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's very true.
- 19:58Speaker 7: I los.
- 19:59Speaker 1: My question to you, Frank, is the H and T token,
- 20:02Speaker 1: helium token or the mobile token, because now you've flipped
- 20:07Speaker 1: over to where you're earning H and T H instead
- 20:11Speaker 1: of mobile. What does that mean for the crypto market
- 20:14Speaker 1: for those tokens And should we be concerned more about
- 20:17Speaker 1: helium versus mobile?
- 20:18Speaker 2: What's your your play on this.
- 20:20Speaker 7: Shore so H and healum network token really has always
- 20:23Speaker 7: been the de facto token that is transacting underneath all
- 20:29Speaker 7: transactions of data that's flowing through the sharing network, whether
- 20:34Speaker 7: it's IoT or whether it's mobile. The sharing effect has
- 20:37Speaker 7: always been the h and T token in that protocol
- 20:41Speaker 7: that we use, which is powered by Solana. Now what's mobile?
- 20:45Speaker 3: Then?
- 20:45Speaker 7: Mobile was a token that was specific for cellular use.
- 20:49Speaker 7: In IoT token was specific for IoT use. All that
- 20:53Speaker 7: the can not me or our company healing mobile. The
- 20:57Speaker 7: community voted to really just squash and combine it to
- 21:01Speaker 7: just H and T, No more like mobile or IoT.
- 21:05Speaker 7: Just keep it simple as crypto grows, so that others
- 21:10Speaker 7: that are coming brand new into this watching you Paul
- 21:13Speaker 7: and say oh wow, I never never knew about this. Cool.
- 21:16Speaker 7: What should I go research? Well, now you don't have
- 21:17Speaker 7: to research three tokens. They just go research H and T.
- 21:20Speaker 7: So that that's simplification. Now what happens to mobile or IoT?
- 21:25Speaker 7: Where do those tokens go? They say, those tokens are around,
- 21:29Speaker 7: they don't go anywhere, they don't disappear. You as a
- 21:33Speaker 7: holder can swap them using the wallets provided by Helium.
- 21:38Speaker 7: There's a Helium wallet you can use and you can
- 21:41Speaker 7: just swap them. If you want to turn the mobile
- 21:44Speaker 7: into hent T, turn to IoT into hent T, you
- 21:46Speaker 7: can certainly do that. There's a treasury there that's there
- 21:50Speaker 7: to make that happen. There's a there's a fixed amount
- 21:53Speaker 7: of ratio. I don't remember the numbers here, but you
- 21:56Speaker 7: can do that if you want. They're also traded, so
- 21:59Speaker 7: if they're traded on exchanges, they will continue to be traded.
- 22:03Speaker 7: And what does that mean, Well, that means mobile IoT
- 22:05Speaker 7: become I would I would consider speculatory tokens or mean brains, right,
- 22:10Speaker 7: if you want to trade them, you can. No one,
- 22:12Speaker 7: no one's telling you to do so or not to
- 22:14Speaker 7: do so. But it's completely up to the individual. And
- 22:17Speaker 7: so what's behind mobile tokens today as an example, really nothing.
- 22:23Speaker 7: It's it's like it would be like dog with hat
- 22:27Speaker 7: or you know, bonk.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Mean point, when will the cloud Store actually open to
- 22:35Speaker 1: where all those brands potentially and start getting those gift cards.
- 22:40Speaker 7: Yeah, it's going to be soon, Paul, I would say,
- 22:45Speaker 7: within the next few weeks, the Cloud Store should be open.
- 22:50Speaker 7: So I'm not quite sure because we've got a couple
- 22:54Speaker 7: of other features launching prior to that I think are
- 22:58Speaker 7: really important. So I would say, between you know, three
- 23:01Speaker 7: to six weeks, there's going to be a number of
- 23:03Speaker 7: releases that happen, and we'll make sure we notify you
- 23:07Speaker 7: and your team and your right.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Yeah, please do Yeah, that'll be good. I think it'll
- 23:10Speaker 1: be a good update for We'll make sure and notify
- 23:12Speaker 1: everybody out there. Why not open up the opportunity, you know,
- 23:16Speaker 1: especially with these legacy devices, of being able to do
- 23:19Speaker 1: air drops and things like that into the helium wallets
- 23:22Speaker 1: for marketing purposes. I could think, you know, imagine if
- 23:25Speaker 1: you Trump wanted to pay your cell bill, you know,
- 23:28Speaker 1: for this month, and dropped you know, Trump tokens in there.
- 23:32Speaker 2: I mean, those are just craziness.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Out there, but the opportunity there is real, anything like
- 23:37Speaker 1: that on the horizon as we see more of that
- 23:39Speaker 1: DJEN Awards rewards.
- 23:41Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I think I think with regards to other tokens,
- 23:45Speaker 7: air dropping into a Healium wallet as an example, I
- 23:49Speaker 7: think that is possible. If I recall I looked at
- 23:52Speaker 7: my healing wallet and I saw some random air drops.
- 23:55Speaker 7: But again, we're not a we're not a wallet company,
- 23:57Speaker 7: and you would see that happen. Yeah, quite a lot
- 24:00Speaker 7: with our partners at Phantom Phantom Wallace. If you have that,
- 24:04Speaker 7: you'll see those air drops occur. I think it's fun.
- 24:07Speaker 7: I think it's it's an interesting way to sort of
- 24:10Speaker 7: capture the imagination and help folks understand what crypto is
- 24:13Speaker 7: all about, but it isn't the only thing. So I
- 24:15Speaker 7: think beyond meanpoint, you know, looking at Healing Network Tooken,
- 24:19Speaker 7: it's truly a utility. It's it's very useful. We use
- 24:23Speaker 7: it to transact, we use it for data flowing in
- 24:26Speaker 7: and out of the Internet, and I think ultimately in
- 24:29Speaker 7: the long run, that utility is what drives values. And
- 24:33Speaker 7: I continue to believe that for us, at least at
- 24:35Speaker 7: Helium and Healingum Mobile. That's that's our approach to the market.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Any plan Frank to get into like a third party
- 24:42Speaker 1: DAP store. I mean, we're starting to see this in
- 24:45Speaker 1: the wallet side, some of the hardware devices are kind
- 24:49Speaker 1: of going this direction, but we haven't necessarily seen anything
- 24:52Speaker 1: in the service plan side. And you've got a lot
- 24:55Speaker 1: of platforms out there, NAT Excores coming online with their
- 24:59Speaker 1: spatial You've hivemapp Er, others that have tools that are
- 25:03Speaker 1: being used by these mobile devices that could maybe open
- 25:06Speaker 1: up into a third party DAP store and all you
- 25:08Speaker 1: need is just a small partnership link and you'd be live.
- 25:13Speaker 7: Yeah, you know, I think right now a lot of
- 25:16Speaker 7: those areas are potential future roadmap items for us, But
- 25:20Speaker 7: I think the number one thing we want to make
- 25:21Speaker 7: sure we do is provide an amazing service first and foremost,
- 25:25Speaker 7: un extremely reliable, uninterrupted service to the Internet for all
- 25:30Speaker 7: of our customers is number one, and number two we
- 25:33Speaker 7: really want to make that user experience, like when you
- 25:36Speaker 7: need more data, or if you want to go international,
- 25:38Speaker 7: you want to upgrade, everything in the app has to
- 25:41Speaker 7: be butttery, super simple, not complicated, and so right now
- 25:45Speaker 7: our job is to reduce complexity. Our job is to
- 25:48Speaker 7: make sure that you enjoy working with your cell provider.
- 25:51Speaker 7: It's someone that you appreciate and you highly rate them,
- 25:54Speaker 7: versus overly complex and just not sure where your data
- 25:59Speaker 7: is going. Right, Our concern is keeping your data super private.
- 26:02Speaker 7: The location that we collect is for us to figure
- 26:05Speaker 7: out where hotspots should go. We're not selling or monetizing
- 26:09Speaker 7: data for users like those are the areas that we
- 26:12Speaker 7: keep our eye on and focus on, and everything else
- 26:15Speaker 7: to us is just could be cream on top, or
- 26:18Speaker 7: it could be just added complexity that we don't need.
- 26:20Speaker 7: So we'll have to figure that out over time, depending
- 26:22Speaker 7: on who our audience is.
- 26:24Speaker 1: All right, listen, Frank, it's been great having you on.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Thanks so much for coming in today. We appreciate your time.
- 26:29Speaker 7: Thank you, Paul.
- 26:30Speaker 2: All right, you bet are you?
