Lucas: Yeah, it really helps. So onto the fruit. First phrase: Ik wil graag fruit kopen. That means 'I would like to buy fruit.' Luna: Ik wil graag fruit kopen. Let me try: Ik wil graag fruit kopen. Lucas: Perfect, Luna. Now let's say you want apples. You ask: Heeft u appels? — 'Do you have apples?' Luna: Heeft u appels? So if I'm at the stall and I want apples, I'd say that? Lucas: Exactly. And the seller might say 'Ja, zeker.' Then you can say how many. For example: Mag ik zes bananen? — 'Can I have six bananas?' Luna: Mag ik zes bananen? So zes is six? Lucas: Yes. Numbers are handy here. Now after you've said what you want, you can finish with Dat is het — 'That's it.' Luna: Dat is het. Like when you're done ordering. And then I'd ask: Hoeveel kost het? — 'How much does it cost?' Lucas: Right. Let's put it all together. Picture you walk up to the stall. Luna: Okay, I'll try. Ik wil graag fruit kopen. Heeft u appels? Lucas: Great. The seller says yes. Then you say: Mag ik zes bananen? Luna: Mag ik zes bananen. And then: Dat is het. Hoeveel kost het? Lucas: Perfect. That's a full little transaction. Now let's practice once more. Repeat after me: Ik wil graag fruit kopen. Luna: Ik wil graag fruit kopen. Lucas: Heeft u appels? Luna: Heeft u appels? Lucas: Mag ik zes bananen? Luna: Mag ik zes bananen? Lucas: Dat is het. Luna: Dat is het. Lucas: Hoeveel kost het? Luna: Hoeveel kost het? Lucas: Excellent. Now imagine you're at the market and you want strawberries. How would you ask? Luna: Uhh... Heeft u... aardbeien? Lucas: Yes! Heeft u aardbeien? Perfect. And if you want just a small box, you could say 'Mag ik een bakje?' But we'll keep it simple for today. Luna: Right. So I can use these phrases for any fruit. That's so useful. Lucas: Exactly.
