Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: One. All right, all right, live from Philly and simulcast
- 0:10Speaker 1: on Philly's own w p q z H channel six eight.
- 0:14Speaker 1: It's the Polly and Tony Foolsto Show. Paully Fulsto here
- 0:21Speaker 1: with Tony Fosco and Tony. The NBA Finals ratings are
- 0:26Speaker 1: in the shitter, and it's absolutely clear why. You know,
- 0:30Speaker 1: nobody wants to see either of these teams win the finals.
- 0:34Speaker 1: You know, usually you have one thing you hate less
- 0:36Speaker 1: than the other, but this year equal hate on both sides. First,
- 0:41Speaker 1: there's Boston, you know, a city which needs another title
- 0:45Speaker 1: as much as ESPN needs another show with Stephen A. Smith.
- 0:49Speaker 1: And then there's the Warriors, who are taken now more
- 0:52Speaker 1: half court shots than the Harlem Globe Trotters. It's terrible, Tony. Yeah,
- 0:58Speaker 1: sometimes I can't even tell if I'm watching the NBA
- 1:01Speaker 1: Finals or ABC's Wide World is Sports. What's next a
- 1:05Speaker 1: man getting shot with the candid ball in his stomach,
- 1:09Speaker 1: which by the way, would be much better than these
- 1:12Speaker 1: NBA finals. Absolutely, And you know, before we go deeper
- 1:16Speaker 1: on this, UH, we had to have to announce our
- 1:19Speaker 1: new presenting sponsors. Some business up top. UH. Today's show
- 1:23Speaker 1: is sponsored by Toby, are you actually paying for streaming content? Well,
- 1:27Speaker 1: why the funk would you do that? Toby has a
- 1:30Speaker 1: whole roster of free hit movies, all released prior to
- 1:33Speaker 1: n Isn't that right, Tony? Yeah? The other night I
- 1:38Speaker 1: watched the classic John Travolta and Broken Arrow, and not
- 1:44Speaker 1: only was it free, it also had Howie Long. What
- 1:49Speaker 1: a treat there, you go, Toby, your home for Howie
- 1:53Speaker 1: Long movies. All right, now that we got that business
- 1:56Speaker 1: out of the way, we're gonna tell you last show
- 1:58Speaker 1: we did. Our guest was Ason McIntyre. He was so
- 2:02Speaker 1: terrible we decided no guest this week. So we're just
- 2:05Speaker 1: gonna get right into it with our top story story.
- 2:13Speaker 1: All right, As we told you up top, this NBA
- 2:16Speaker 1: Finals is a disgrace. Two teams that we absolutely cannot
- 2:20Speaker 1: root for, especially the Golden State Warriors. And I'll tell
- 2:24Speaker 1: you why. You know, people, there is a problem you'll
- 2:27Speaker 1: see in business in the movie industry, now you're seeing
- 2:30Speaker 1: knit in sports. Of course, I'm talking about nepotism. You know,
- 2:35Speaker 1: you look at this Warrior's team, Steph Curry, Clay Thompson,
- 2:39Speaker 1: Gary Payton, Andrew Wiggins, all of them sons of NBA players,
- 2:45Speaker 1: And you know, this is just a sad display of
- 2:48Speaker 1: spoiled kids riding the coattails of their parents, you know,
- 2:52Speaker 1: born with silver basketball's in their mouths. Isn't that right,
- 2:55Speaker 1: don't it? It's so disgraceful. Kids born to NBA players
- 3:01Speaker 1: have such an unfair advantage because they're basically getting professional
- 3:05Speaker 1: coaching since day one. I mean, this is why the
- 3:09Speaker 1: Americans hated the Russians in the nineteen eighties because in Russia,
- 3:13Speaker 1: as we all remember, they were growing babies and labs
- 3:17Speaker 1: and putting them on balance beams and pull vaults when
- 3:20Speaker 1: they were like six months old. Now suddenly we're supposed
- 3:23Speaker 1: to root for that. What happened to pulling your boots
- 3:26Speaker 1: up by the laces? Well said Tony, Great points all around,
- 3:31Speaker 1: and uh, you know what I have to say, this
- 3:34Speaker 1: is why I've never had any respect for Ken Griffey Jr.
- 3:40Speaker 1: You know, feeling his father's name like that. Sure, okay,
- 3:43Speaker 1: he was okay at baseball, but let's face it, people,
- 3:46Speaker 1: he would have never been nearly as popular if his
- 3:49Speaker 1: name was you know, Fred McGriff as as Fred McGriff
- 3:53Speaker 1: has unfortunately come to find out. This is exactly why
- 3:57Speaker 1: I absolutely refuse to see any movie starring Michael B. Jordan's.
- 4:03Speaker 1: It's just disheartening to see the great Michael Jordan's use
- 4:07Speaker 1: his connections to get his son acting roles and become
- 4:11Speaker 1: part of the Hollywood elite. You know, it is terrible.
- 4:14Speaker 1: And you know, even if those movies were shown for
- 4:17Speaker 1: free on our wonderful presenting sponsor a DOBE, I would
- 4:20Speaker 1: one not watch them based on that no chance, no
- 4:25Speaker 1: chance onto another disgraceful subject, Commander's defensive coordinator, Jack del Rio.
- 4:32Speaker 1: People are mad at him because he called the January
- 4:35Speaker 1: six attack on the Capitol Building a quote dust up,
- 4:40Speaker 1: and as we all can agree, the blowback toward missed
- 4:43Speaker 1: it del Rio is disgraceful. Only fools have a problem
- 4:48Speaker 1: with what he said. You know, you know this is
- 4:50Speaker 1: what great coaches due Tony, Isn't that right? They minimize chaos.
- 4:55Speaker 1: And what Jacques del Rio did was he put on
- 4:58Speaker 1: a masterclass and coach. And you know, if something bad happens, like,
- 5:02Speaker 1: for say, an invasion on Congress, well you don't want
- 5:06Speaker 1: your coach making a big deal about that, right, you
- 5:09Speaker 1: don't want him distracting the whole team, right, don't he absolutely,
- 5:13Speaker 1: How are the commanders supposed to beat the cowboys If
- 5:16Speaker 1: the players are worried about an attack on the government,
- 5:19Speaker 1: now they don't have to worry because they know it
- 5:24Speaker 1: was just the dust up. Nothing to see here. Back
- 5:28Speaker 1: to football. Of course, we saw this. We all remember
- 5:32Speaker 1: with the great Vince lambody in nine gets the news
- 5:37Speaker 1: that JFK has been shot. Does he go and tell Botstar?
- 5:41Speaker 1: Oh no, the government's falling chaos. No. Mr Lombardi goes
- 5:46Speaker 1: to Botstar. He says, there's been a transition in the presidency.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Were transitioning from one president through a new one. Yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 1: He was like, hey, but you know, something happened at
- 5:57Speaker 1: the parade. Don't worry about we still have a president.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Let's go out and play football. And what happened, Pauli.
- 6:06Speaker 1: They went on to win ten straight championships. There you go,
- 6:10Speaker 1: that's called coaching, people, look at that's it anyway. Finally,
- 6:14Speaker 1: your big news from the world of golf, where bja
- 6:17Speaker 1: Toal Commissioner Joe Monahan. He came down from the top
- 6:20Speaker 1: rope on all these golfers who are leaving from the
- 6:23Speaker 1: l I V. Lived Tour whatever that you call that thing.
- 6:27Speaker 1: But is that anyway that that tour has like two
- 6:29Speaker 1: or three events a year and that's it anyway, Monahan,
- 6:33Speaker 1: he comes on CBS and he says golf is not
- 6:37Speaker 1: meant to be quote a series of exhibition matches, and
- 6:42Speaker 1: I one hundred and ten percent agree with Himdia, because
- 6:45Speaker 1: you know, what everybody loves about the PGA Tour is
- 6:49Speaker 1: that every tournament matters. Isn't that right, don't Yeah. A
- 6:54Speaker 1: few weeks back, I was watching a tournament for the ages.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Of course, I'm talking about the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
- 7:03Speaker 1: It was a fully sanctioned p G eight tournament where
- 7:06Speaker 1: players playing teams of not one but two, just like
- 7:11Speaker 1: professional golf was always meant to be played, and it
- 7:15Speaker 1: was exciting. It came down to four guys whose names
- 7:19Speaker 1: escaped me right now, but I do remember being very
- 7:23Speaker 1: enthralled for a good seventeen or eighteen minutes. Yeah, you know,
- 7:27Speaker 1: a couple of months ago, I was watching a showdown
- 7:30Speaker 1: for the ages. It was at the Valero Texas Open,
- 7:33Speaker 1: which is, as you know, a huge event, especially for
- 7:36Speaker 1: players in the bottom third of the moneyless who are struggling,
- 7:39Speaker 1: you know, to keep their talk cord. Huge ramifications there. Wow.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Now again, I can't remember the name of the guy
- 7:46Speaker 1: who won either, but let me tell you it was
- 7:48Speaker 1: so exciting. Who see someone I had previously never heard
- 7:52Speaker 1: of until two hours earlier suddenly win millions. It was
- 7:56Speaker 1: like watching the sports version of Powerball. Yeah, exactly. I
- 8:00Speaker 1: don't want to see millionaires when the Powerball do now.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I want to see someone who's come from nowhere to
- 8:07Speaker 1: suddenly be on top of the world before immediately fading
- 8:11Speaker 1: back to nowhere within a couple of weeks. That is
- 8:15Speaker 1: what the PG eight Tour is all about, exactly every
- 8:19Speaker 1: weekend mad is not just through the millions of people
- 8:22Speaker 1: at home, but to the three or four guys who
- 8:25Speaker 1: finally have a chance to win a golf tournament in
- 8:28Speaker 1: an otherwise thirty year career of nothingness. It's just truly great. Alright,
- 8:33Speaker 1: Yeah talking about truly great Tony. That was a truly
- 8:36Speaker 1: great show. Why if you see j producer j who
- 8:44Speaker 1: is what the live golf of this show? Ye? What
- 8:48Speaker 1: the corrections? What number one you said Michael B. Jordan's
- 8:53Speaker 1: is a son of Michael Jordan's. Yeah, No, they're not
- 8:57Speaker 1: related at all. I'm pretty sure reone knows that but you.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well your name should be Michael be annoying. Yeah,
- 9:08Speaker 1: soon it'll be producing j be unemployed no more. No second,
- 9:17Speaker 1: what you said the PGA tour commissioner was Joe Monahan. Yeah,
- 9:23Speaker 1: it's j Monahan. Oh yeah, as in ja shut the
- 9:29Speaker 1: funk ups talking? Yeah J Monahan more like J monitou.
- 9:36Speaker 1: That's you? Good, thank you, that's it. No, how can
- 9:42Speaker 1: you play Ken Griffy Jr. For being named after his dad?
- 9:47Speaker 1: That makes no sense. Oh yeah, well you're gonna be
- 9:53Speaker 1: making no sense or dollars after we fire you. Actually,
- 9:58Speaker 1: we're not gonna pay you for this week, so take that. Yeah,
- 10:04Speaker 1: get it, pay me for the last four weeks. How
- 10:07Speaker 1: unprofessional of you to discuss payment on the air. Disgusting, disgusting. Anyway,
- 10:12Speaker 1: We're just gonna wrap it right there because we do
- 10:15Speaker 1: have better news. We will have a guest next week,
- 10:17Speaker 1: finally booked and confirmed, Nick Falls Eagles legend. Day before that,
