- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes eight sixty two through eight sixty
- 0:17Speaker 1: four Too Long, Carrot's big mystic transformation, breakthrough the straw Hats,
- 0:24Speaker 1: Mighty Sea Battle, and finally they clash the Emperor of
- 0:29Speaker 1: the Sea versus the straw Hats.
- 0:33Speaker 2: In these episodes.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Carrot is a badass, Mom becomes fire somehow, and loofy,
- 0:48Speaker 1: he's still not really doing great to be honest. Welcome
- 0:53Speaker 1: to spoil Me. Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning this episode.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Florien's in the chat.
- 1:20Speaker 1: With me today and delighted to have him. He's going
- 1:24Speaker 1: to be booking a Wannabe episode coming up in June,
- 1:28Speaker 1: which I am always excited to see because that means
- 1:31Speaker 1: that something noteworthy is going to happen. And yeah, guys,
- 1:37Speaker 1: this section so real quick. I want to mention that
- 1:41Speaker 1: next episode, the spreadsheet has me watching four episodes, which
- 1:47Speaker 1: is really really rare, So I'm kind of stoked for
- 1:50Speaker 1: that that I get to like dig in for four
- 1:53Speaker 1: episodes in a row. And this section is like still
- 2:01Speaker 1: really holding my attention, still managing to like be interesting
- 2:06Speaker 1: to me, even Lufy's fight.
- 2:08Speaker 2: With Category, which.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I'm not trying to say that, it's like, oh, even
- 2:17Speaker 1: this bullshit, you guys understand what I'm saying. Where primary
- 2:24Speaker 1: primary problems with the arcs in the past often have
- 2:29Speaker 1: centered around the like unending fight between Lufy and somebody,
- 2:35Speaker 1: Usually it'll be the main big Bad but it's understandable
- 2:41Speaker 1: right now why that's not what's going on with Big Mom,
- 2:46Speaker 1: and it's just a very interesting, like it's taking a
- 2:51Speaker 1: long time. So in that respect, I do still feel
- 2:56Speaker 1: a little bit impatient about it, but it's really not
- 3:00Speaker 1: bothering me because they are not spending too much time,
- 3:04Speaker 1: like screen.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Time on it.
- 3:06Speaker 1: So we're jumping back to be reminded that he's in
- 3:10Speaker 1: the midst of this fight, but it doesn't feel like
- 3:13Speaker 1: I have to sit through a bunch of very little happening.
- 3:18Speaker 1: And if anything, when we do jump back to it,
- 3:21Speaker 1: it's almost funny because Category himself is like impatient, so
- 3:25Speaker 1: I feel almost as if the dialogue itself is addressing
- 3:30Speaker 1: the fact that things are going pretty slowly.
- 3:33Speaker 2: So it's hard for me to even really like be
- 3:36Speaker 2: mad at that, you know what I'm saying, so anyway,
- 3:41Speaker 2: I just really.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I have already said before how glad I am that
- 3:47Speaker 1: it seems we're going to get to see Lufy's training
- 3:52Speaker 1: really taking him to the next level in real time,
- 3:55Speaker 1: and it is looking like it. Like what I like
- 4:02Speaker 1: about it is the fact that it's not super easy.
- 4:07Speaker 1: He has clocked what it is category is doing. He
- 4:10Speaker 1: has figured out the you know, the fact that like
- 4:14Speaker 1: hockey doesn't last, that you do have to like stop
- 4:17Speaker 1: and recharge it. He has mentioned a few different things
- 4:21Speaker 1: about like, well maybe I could get good at the
- 4:25Speaker 1: observation hockey, maybe this and that and this episode. There's
- 4:30Speaker 1: also the mention we have like the specific flashback of
- 4:35Speaker 1: the what is the way that he says it is
- 4:40Speaker 1: something like the more advanced your enemy is the faster
- 4:48Speaker 1: or not even the faster, but like the more you
- 4:51Speaker 1: will advance as a result of fighting them, something like that,
- 4:56Speaker 1: which I don't think that this is the first time.
- 4:59Speaker 1: I think that when we actually went into the flashback,
- 5:01Speaker 1: we heard him say that, but I didn't really remember
- 5:04Speaker 1: how explicit that was, And so seeing it this time
- 5:08Speaker 1: or hearing it this time, I was like, oh, okay,
- 5:11Speaker 1: so what we're setting things up for is that fighting Categori. Potentially,
- 5:20Speaker 1: for lack of a better way of saying it, Lufy
- 5:22Speaker 1: could get like a multiple level up from fighting this
- 5:26Speaker 1: guy if things go well for him in that way.
- 5:32Speaker 1: So it's not just him getting to the next level,
- 5:35Speaker 1: it's potentially getting to like a few levels, you know.
- 5:40Speaker 1: And I'm sort of excited about that because it does
- 5:45Speaker 1: seem it's all been put in place. It's not feeling
- 5:49Speaker 1: like this is a cheat or a retcon or anything.
- 5:52Speaker 1: And like I said, we haven't really gotten to see.
- 5:56Speaker 2: This before, so there's also.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Ooh, sorry, Seraphim says, you're watching a battle shown in
- 6:03Speaker 1: while not being all that interested in the battle aspect. Indeed,
- 6:07Speaker 1: from what I understand, Florian says, really, oh that is
- 6:11Speaker 1: his name? Yes, yes, Hockey blooms in the heat of battle.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Seraphim says, the more you need to struggle, the stronger
- 6:18Speaker 1: you'll get, right, right, right. So if this for me,
- 6:25Speaker 1: like this being explicitly said means that I am innately
- 6:31Speaker 1: going to have more patients watching this because now I
- 6:35Speaker 1: am primed Lufy is going to advance somehow, and even
- 6:40Speaker 1: if this takes a little while, it's something new and
- 6:44Speaker 1: I feel like it's hopefully going to be worth it.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I may be wrong, but I just I don't know.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I have a good feeling about it so far, so
- 6:52Speaker 1: I am. I'm also like really ensured. There's a part
- 6:57Speaker 1: where Category is like, bro, I really don't get it.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Why are you still fighting me? You can't win.
- 7:05Speaker 1: You haven't like landed a blow since that one time?
- 7:10Speaker 1: Why are you just not giving up? And Lufy says
- 7:15Speaker 1: something like, you know, don't make me repeat myself, and
- 7:18Speaker 1: I couldn't help but laugh because Katechory just goes I'm
- 7:22Speaker 1: the one that has to keep repeating himself. I don't
- 7:26Speaker 1: know what has happened, but somehow Katekori's like dialogue feels
- 7:32Speaker 1: like the audience itself getting to speak to Lufy, because
- 7:39Speaker 1: that was exactly what I was thinking. With Lufy being like,
- 7:42Speaker 1: don't make me repeat myself, I was like, honestly, this
- 7:47Speaker 1: dude has said the same thing a lot more often.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Than you have, Lufy, what do you mean?
- 7:51Speaker 1: And I had mentioned a while back when there was
- 7:56Speaker 1: a line of dialogue from Category that was something like,
- 7:59Speaker 1: there is no victory in your future, and I said
- 8:03Speaker 1: at the time, how intimidating I found that that it
- 8:07Speaker 1: was not like a value judgment. It just really felt
- 8:10Speaker 1: like Category stating facts and being like, look, I can
- 8:14Speaker 1: see ahead and it's not there, which like we know
- 8:19Speaker 1: that he can only see a few seconds ahead, so
- 8:22Speaker 1: it's not as if that's actually like significant, but it's
- 8:29Speaker 1: still the way he said it. I felt kind of like,
- 8:31Speaker 1: oh damn. And this group of episodes, like the way
- 8:36Speaker 1: things end with Lufy is him basically yelling at Katekori,
- 8:42Speaker 1: you don't get to decide that my future is mine
- 8:46Speaker 1: and I can make it whatever I want, which was
- 8:51Speaker 1: low key inspiring honestly, like this is the vibe to have,
- 8:56Speaker 1: And yeah, you can only see a few minutes into
- 9:00Speaker 1: the future, and you know, big fucking whoop, things can
- 9:06Speaker 1: happen much further out than what you can see, and
- 9:10Speaker 1: that's not You're not the fucking arbiter. So I just
- 9:13Speaker 1: really enjoyed the whole dynamic between the two of them
- 9:18Speaker 1: and continue to enjoy it a lot more than I
- 9:22Speaker 1: would ever have expected based on how I know. I
- 9:27Speaker 1: keep calling Category sort of self serious, and I I'm
- 9:31Speaker 1: gonna stick with that because he is. Even though there's
- 9:34Speaker 1: he keeps doing the like endless donuts attack, he keeps
- 9:38Speaker 1: doing donut attacks, which I do find very funny at
- 9:41Speaker 1: this point, but it just on paper, this guy would
- 9:48Speaker 1: have been very boring, and him constantly being like, you
- 9:51Speaker 1: can never beat me sounds like it would be very
- 9:54Speaker 1: boring to watch, and yet it all has these nice
- 9:58Speaker 1: little elements that sort of subvert what you're expecting and
- 10:02Speaker 1: keeps me going weight, Ooh, what's going on, what's happening,
- 10:06Speaker 1: what's about to happen? You know? So anyway, I just
- 10:11Speaker 1: wanted to talk about that because we really don't spend
- 10:14Speaker 1: very much time with them. We just go back to
- 10:15Speaker 1: them for brief moments, and that's really the smallest part
- 10:19Speaker 1: of these three episodes. Lufi Is is very very much
- 10:23Speaker 1: in the background, all things considered. So let's go.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Back to the.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Sunny, where ironically it's we're dealing with the moon, not
- 10:39Speaker 1: the sun right now, So big mom. The animation I
- 10:45Speaker 1: already addressed last time that I was sort of puzzled
- 10:48Speaker 1: why she looks so different. Is meant to be that
- 10:51Speaker 1: she is like losing weight from how long she has
- 10:54Speaker 1: been going without her craving being satisfied. I think that
- 11:00Speaker 1: Pedro says something like it's the equivalent of starvation for her,
- 11:06Speaker 1: which I appreciate that this is something that like she
- 11:13Speaker 1: is going to have to deal with, because it's we
- 11:17Speaker 1: just saw that Loofy was able to do this, you know,
- 11:19Speaker 1: he ate his way out of that Mochi gained all
- 11:22Speaker 1: this weight and then he just ran around for a
- 11:24Speaker 1: minute and lost all the weight, and everybody was like,
- 11:27Speaker 1: that's not how the body works. Well, it works in
- 11:32Speaker 1: ways that it shouldn't all the time, frankly, and so
- 11:36Speaker 1: the fact that it works this way for her also,
- 11:39Speaker 1: that's only fair. That makes sense to me. You know,
- 11:43Speaker 1: there are definitely times where I get kind of irritable
- 11:47Speaker 1: about weight stuff in the story because of how it's
- 11:51Speaker 1: portrayed and my own baggage with it and whatever. But
- 11:57Speaker 1: this is not the equivalent of like making the one
- 12:00Speaker 1: cool fat woman skinny for the remainder of the entire series,
- 12:05Speaker 1: which is still, in my opinion, a tragedy when it
- 12:09Speaker 1: comes to Alvida. This is a circumstantial thing which we'll
- 12:18Speaker 1: see maybe going forward there will be something that I'm like, Eh,
- 12:21Speaker 1: why did they do it this way? But this is fine.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I don't care, it's fine, and she.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I this happens a little bit later, but I still
- 12:30Speaker 1: I do kind of want to talk about it now
- 12:32Speaker 1: because I found it so surprising. I found it as
- 12:36Speaker 1: surprising as Pedros finds it, because basically what we discover
- 12:41Speaker 1: is that Big Mom, as much as she seems to.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Not be with it at all, is like.
- 12:51Speaker 1: She knows what's going on, even though even though she doesn't.
- 12:57Speaker 1: I kind of want to say it that way, even
- 12:59Speaker 1: though I feel like that doesn't sound like it makes sense.
- 13:01Speaker 1: But you guys get what I mean when I say
- 13:04Speaker 1: that she is communicating in a way that was like
- 13:11Speaker 1: a lot more cogent than I was expecting. Later on,
- 13:15Speaker 1: so at one point, I think it's JIMBEI who says like,
- 13:19Speaker 1: we don't have the fucking cake, bitch, and she's saying,
- 13:26Speaker 1: you must. You're lying to me because if you don't
- 13:29Speaker 1: have it, that means that my son lied to me.
- 13:33Speaker 1: And my son wouldn't fucking lie to me because he
- 13:36Speaker 1: knows I will rip his life out of him if
- 13:39Speaker 1: he has lied. And Peros is like, oh fuck, I
- 13:43Speaker 1: didn't realize that she actually was keeping track of things,
- 13:47Speaker 1: and now I am in some trouble, which he gets
- 13:52Speaker 1: some great news a little bit later when it turns
- 13:56Speaker 1: out that pudding has the cake on a boat, and
- 13:59Speaker 1: we're bringing it so that she can have the cake
- 14:02Speaker 1: and it will almost be as good as if the
- 14:05Speaker 1: straw hats had it themselves, Like Paros will probably be
- 14:09Speaker 1: able to explain that a way adequately that she won't
- 14:12Speaker 1: kill him for it.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Fingers crossed.
- 14:15Speaker 1: But uh, the thing that we run into with that
- 14:21Speaker 1: is Paros immediately being like, oh, we can't let her
- 14:25Speaker 1: eat it. It's on Beget's boat. He's a fucking trader.
- 14:30Speaker 1: He's absolutely going to poison that shit. We and so
- 14:34Speaker 1: now we're going to be dealing with how do we
- 14:38Speaker 1: possibly keep Mom from eating something that she wants when
- 14:44Speaker 1: we think that it's going to be poisoned. Which I'm
- 14:48Speaker 1: like listening to him say this, and I'm going to myself, huh,
- 14:53Speaker 1: you know it's I know it's not poisoned, but I
- 14:57Speaker 1: really understand why he would expec to be poisoned. And
- 15:01Speaker 1: I also did say, maybe poisoning her is the only
- 15:06Speaker 1: way to do this, huh. And then we actually address this.
- 15:13Speaker 1: So we go over to Sanji and he basically has
- 15:18Speaker 1: to stop Beje's about to poison this cake straight up
- 15:23Speaker 1: to exactly what they expect, and he has an argument
- 15:30Speaker 1: with Sanji that I couldn't help but be like, yeah,
- 15:37Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm team beget on this one. Like it
- 15:40Speaker 1: just he is making very solid points. It's the sort
- 15:46Speaker 1: of thing where I understand in this universe that I
- 15:51Speaker 1: am meant to be on Sanjy's side, and that likely
- 15:56Speaker 1: what Sanji is is insisting will.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Work, will work.
- 16:00Speaker 1: I know this, however, I cannot help, but the logical
- 16:08Speaker 1: side of me be like, Soanji, bro, come on, dude,
- 16:13Speaker 1: you cannot expect like it's it's so funny because like, basically, Begi,
- 16:22Speaker 1: I really like the way this is handled, because it's
- 16:25Speaker 1: all very self contained. This could have been the sort
- 16:28Speaker 1: of thing where this argument spans a couple episodes and they.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Are like fighting against one.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Another as big Mom, you know, as the ship approaches
- 16:39Speaker 1: her and we're watching this infighting and getting increasingly tense
- 16:43Speaker 1: about like who's going to let what happened? That is
- 16:47Speaker 1: not how this is handled at all. We have Beggie
- 16:50Speaker 1: about to poison the cake. We have Soanji being like,
- 16:55Speaker 1: excuse me, you're about to do what to this work
- 16:58Speaker 1: of fucking art that we all poured our souls into
- 17:02Speaker 1: in the past couple.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Days like.
- 17:06Speaker 1: He's basically it's like blasphemous. You know what he's about
- 17:10Speaker 1: to do, which, as somebody who likes to cook and
- 17:14Speaker 1: who knows how much effort a lot of that stuff takes,
- 17:17Speaker 1: I do understand.
- 17:20Speaker 2: His feelings on this.
- 17:23Speaker 1: And Beggi is like, dude, are you fucking high? I
- 17:33Speaker 1: worked really hard on this. She's an emperor. She's had
- 17:40Speaker 1: the best food the world has to offer. She literally
- 17:45Speaker 1: lives in a group of islands that specializes in making
- 17:52Speaker 1: exponentially better food than like anywhere else on the planet.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Not only that, but.
- 17:59Speaker 1: I have worked for her for fucking years.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I know what she is capable of.
- 18:07Speaker 1: You want me to pass up the chance to poison
- 18:12Speaker 1: her with a food that she is craving in the
- 18:15Speaker 1: midst of a hunger pangs episode right now. You want
- 18:17Speaker 1: me to not do this when it is all aligned
- 18:20Speaker 1: to be the perfect solution to this problem. You really
- 18:25Speaker 1: want to forsake this on the odds that your cake
- 18:28Speaker 1: is just gonna, like magically be so good. And Sanji
- 18:35Speaker 1: is basically like, yeah, and I'm gambling all our lives
- 18:41Speaker 1: on it. If I'm wrong, We're all dead. But I
- 18:43Speaker 1: say bring it on, which is insane. Let's just stop
- 18:48Speaker 1: and think about that. Let's just stop and look at
- 18:51Speaker 1: the fact that he says, I say, bring it on
- 18:55Speaker 1: about everybody dying if she doesn't love his cake, it's
- 19:01Speaker 1: it's unhinged, it's bonkers. What like, it's just objectively a
- 19:13Speaker 1: bet that the very act of making that bet to
- 19:16Speaker 1: me means that you don't get to make it because
- 19:19Speaker 1: you are not in your right mind.
- 19:22Speaker 2: And yet.
- 19:25Speaker 1: He just puts a little bit of the frosting in
- 19:29Speaker 1: Benji's mouth as they're like mid argument, and Begi stops
- 19:36Speaker 1: dead and looks at him and then like collapses and
- 19:41Speaker 1: considering that they were just arguing, it's deeply understandable that
- 19:48Speaker 1: everyone of Begi's men is like, what the fuck did
- 19:51Speaker 1: you just do to our boss?
- 19:53Speaker 2: What did you just? What? Why?
- 19:55Speaker 1: What?
- 19:56Speaker 2: What is happening?
- 19:57Speaker 1: And Begi says, very like softly, I could die, which,
- 20:03Speaker 1: of course they take is like I'm I am dying,
- 20:07Speaker 1: And then he says it was so good. So rather
- 20:14Speaker 1: than this be some fucking long drawn out thing that
- 20:19Speaker 1: he has to convince Beggie of via words, he puts
- 20:23Speaker 1: his money, he puts his cape where Beggie's mouth is,
- 20:28Speaker 1: lets him taste it, and judge for himself, and I
- 20:33Speaker 1: like the idea that Beggie has tried a lot of
- 20:36Speaker 1: the same food that Big Mom has, Like he's been
- 20:40Speaker 1: working with her for years. They probably have shared many
- 20:43Speaker 1: meals together. So if he is impressed, I can assume
- 20:48Speaker 1: she will also be impressed, you know what I'm saying.
- 20:51Speaker 2: And the whole.
- 20:56Speaker 1: The whole fact that this like becomes sort of a
- 20:59Speaker 1: not the issue a moment later after he has tasted
- 21:03Speaker 1: this and is like, oh I see, oh my god, yeah,
- 21:07Speaker 1: this is a whole different scenario than what I was thinking.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I really really liked this.
- 21:13Speaker 1: I didn't want, you know what I'm saying, guys, I
- 21:16Speaker 1: did not want to sit through a whole ongoing argument
- 21:21Speaker 1: between the.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Two of them.
- 21:23Speaker 1: And but I also did like the fact that somebody
- 21:28Speaker 1: is thinking about poisoning her because I had mentioned before
- 21:30Speaker 1: that that was like, well, maybe we should just do that.
- 21:34Speaker 1: And I didn't even really like that as a solution.
- 21:39Speaker 1: It wasn't something that I was excited about. It just
- 21:43Speaker 1: was like me spitballing, what are the only ways that
- 21:46Speaker 1: I can think of where this works out, where we
- 21:49Speaker 1: find a way around this, you know?
- 21:51Speaker 2: So the question is.
- 21:56Speaker 1: What exactly do we think she does when she eventually
- 22:01Speaker 1: tastes this cake, because the implication is supposed to be
- 22:08Speaker 1: that she tastes it and she basically passes out because
- 22:11Speaker 1: it's so delicious, right, But as Begie points out, you
- 22:16Speaker 1: think the cake is going to be so good that
- 22:18Speaker 1: she'll just let us all go after everything that's been happening.
- 22:23Speaker 1: And it's like, Sanchi doesn't even exactly reply to that specifically.
- 22:32Speaker 1: So that's what I think he is assuming is either like, yes,
- 22:39Speaker 1: she's going to let us go, or alternatively, that she's
- 22:45Speaker 1: going to be knocked out because it's so good to
- 22:48Speaker 1: a degree that we can make our getaway, I guess,
- 22:52Speaker 1: which I don't think is likely. It doesn't seem like
- 22:55Speaker 1: it would knock her out for long enough for that
- 22:57Speaker 1: to really work out.
- 22:58Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 23:01Speaker 1: The alternative is this cake was so spectacular that I
- 23:10Speaker 1: forgive everything, which I don't see that happening, and what
- 23:16Speaker 1: kind of worries me. Even if that were to be
- 23:19Speaker 1: where we go in the story. The next natural conclusion
- 23:26Speaker 1: then is I'm not letting you go because you made
- 23:31Speaker 1: this incredible cake, and so now I am adding you
- 23:36Speaker 1: to my collection of creatures. Even though he's a human
- 23:41Speaker 1: simply because of your talent. You know that, Like, you
- 23:45Speaker 1: accomplished this thing and I can't replicate it without you.
- 23:51Speaker 2: I don't know if.
- 23:51Speaker 1: It's going to be that maybe like I'll give you
- 23:54Speaker 1: the recipe, I'll give your cooks the recipe, and that way.
- 23:58Speaker 2: He can you know, escape somehow.
- 24:01Speaker 1: But I don't know if that would really do it?
- 24:06Speaker 2: Like is that adequate? I genuinely I am.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I can't decide so anyway, Yeah, this is just a
- 24:17Speaker 1: it's a very funny proposition on a number of levels,
- 24:24Speaker 1: and I know that this is like it's gonna work
- 24:29Speaker 1: in the end. I am confident what Sonji is proposing
- 24:33Speaker 1: here is going to be the solution.
- 24:35Speaker 2: But it's just so.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Funny to me, and that's what I like about it.
- 24:41Speaker 1: You know, Like, honestly, if we're going to be watching
- 24:45Speaker 1: one piece, what do we want this to not work?
- 24:49Speaker 1: Do we not want there to be a cake that's
- 24:51Speaker 1: so magically delicious that it knocks her out of her crazy? Like,
- 24:54Speaker 1: of course this is what we want rather than just
- 24:56Speaker 1: poisoning her. This is way more interesting and fun to watch,
- 24:59Speaker 1: so granted, but.
- 25:03Speaker 2: I am sort of like.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Imagining as somebody who loves to cook, banking basically like
- 25:13Speaker 1: world peace on my ability to make a cake. And
- 25:18Speaker 1: that is a real that's an amount of confidence that
- 25:24Speaker 1: I don't fully ever want to have because it feels
- 25:29Speaker 1: like we're at hubris now, this is now, we're in
- 25:32Speaker 1: dangerous territory. But uh, you know, some could argue, Pudding
- 25:38Speaker 1: would argue that this exact type of hubris is what's attractive,
- 25:42Speaker 1: that this is what she likes about Sangi is the
- 25:45Speaker 1: fact that he has a sort of faith and confidence
- 25:48Speaker 1: in not only his cooking, but in what everybody else
- 25:53Speaker 1: has done as well. So uh, Sarafram says, Yeah, I
- 26:00Speaker 1: do love the logic here, even if it's wrong, you
- 26:02Speaker 1: fully understand why he came to those conclusions. Also, there's
- 26:05Speaker 1: no proof that Beggie's poison would work either, and it
- 26:08Speaker 1: might just ruin the cake instead. Sarah him, that is
- 26:11Speaker 1: a really good point that I hadn't even considered. Is like,
- 26:14Speaker 1: what if the poison doesn't even work. I'm fully operating
- 26:19Speaker 1: under the assumption that the poison would render her completely
- 26:25Speaker 1: if not kill her, that it would definitely like take
- 26:28Speaker 1: her out for a little while, And there is not
- 26:33Speaker 1: really a good reason to assume that is there because
- 26:37Speaker 1: she isn't normal. She's just not normal. So there's every
- 26:42Speaker 1: possibility that she's not going to be affected by it
- 26:48Speaker 1: the way a person would. And if it tastes like shit,
- 26:53Speaker 1: it's not like it's not only not going to kill her,
- 26:57Speaker 1: it won't knock her out of her hunger pangs. And
- 26:59Speaker 1: now we still have to deal with that whole fucking thing.
- 27:03Speaker 1: So that is a very good point. Yeah, I should
- 27:07Speaker 1: have considered that, but I didn't. So backing up, all right,
- 27:14Speaker 1: let's talk about Carrot. What's going on with Carrot? So
- 27:19Speaker 1: it's it's called SOO Long, And evidently Jimmy knows exactly
- 27:25Speaker 1: what this is. He's familiar with it.
- 27:27Speaker 2: As are.
- 27:28Speaker 1: By the way, a lot of the pirates from the
- 27:31Speaker 1: other team, we see them all talking once the moon
- 27:37Speaker 1: comes out and they see what's happening with Carrot, and
- 27:43Speaker 1: they all start to be like, oh wait, oh shit,
- 27:48Speaker 1: and this like effect is something that not only have
- 27:56Speaker 1: they heard of it and they know what happens, but
- 27:59Speaker 1: they are all really intimidated by it. There's a sort
- 28:02Speaker 1: of assumption that like, oh, you don't want any of
- 28:05Speaker 1: that smoke. If this is what's happening, we really do
- 28:07Speaker 1: not want to mix it up with her, and she
- 28:11Speaker 1: is so cool looking in this transformation. By the way,
- 28:15Speaker 1: I already mentioned that I in the thumbnail, I saw
- 28:19Speaker 1: just her all white with her I think I called
- 28:22Speaker 1: her eyes purple last time, but they're really red. It's
- 28:24Speaker 1: just that it's a variety of shades of red, so
- 28:27Speaker 1: it almost gives the effect of like a flower with
- 28:32Speaker 1: like multicolored flower petals. But yeah, So we have her
- 28:36Speaker 1: like insisting to everybody. She's talking to them and is
- 28:40Speaker 1: basically saying, I know that we're up against this impossible situation,
- 28:45Speaker 1: but this is my chance, and I promise you guys,
- 28:49Speaker 1: I can handle it. Let me take care of this.
- 28:52Speaker 1: And we see her crouching as the moonlight falls on her,
- 28:57Speaker 1: and eventually we find out this is a state that
- 29:04Speaker 1: isn't super safe. This is the sort of thing that like,
- 29:10Speaker 1: if she isn't kind of brought back to herself, she
- 29:17Speaker 1: might keep fighting to a degree that will break her
- 29:20Speaker 1: body down, that she will be so she will continue
- 29:25Speaker 1: going so hard that it's not she won't be able
- 29:29Speaker 1: to turn it off, you know.
- 29:31Speaker 2: And thus.
- 29:34Speaker 1: She wants, she needs to be brought away from the
- 29:39Speaker 1: moonlight itself, and that really surprised me is that it's like,
- 29:43Speaker 1: you know, you see this sometimes with like werewolves as well,
- 29:47Speaker 1: that it's not simply the moon being full. It's like
- 29:50Speaker 1: if the moonlight falls on them or if they see
- 29:54Speaker 1: the moon. So as long as they like keep their
- 29:57Speaker 1: eyes covered or stay indoors or whatever, it doesn't affect them.
- 30:01Speaker 1: But as soon as they are like touched by moonlight,
- 30:04Speaker 1: then it overwhelms them and they don't have any choice.
- 30:08Speaker 2: So this is like a different.
- 30:14Speaker 1: She is brought back to herself in the end, and
- 30:16Speaker 1: she requests to be inside the ship where she won't
- 30:20Speaker 1: see the moon so that it doesn't trigger this happening again.
- 30:24Speaker 1: And because this is such a risky thing where it
- 30:28Speaker 1: is dangerous to the animals that decide to participate, that
- 30:33Speaker 1: decide to let it overtake them, I guess it's like
- 30:37Speaker 1: the way that Brooks says it later on after there,
- 30:39Speaker 1: this is described by Jimbei. Brooke says, so this is
- 30:43Speaker 1: the sort of ability that you don't utilize unless it's
- 30:47Speaker 1: genuinely like a life and death situation where you feel
- 30:51Speaker 1: like there's no getting out of it otherwise, you know,
- 30:55Speaker 1: And I really I have like a very mixed feeling
- 31:06Speaker 1: about it being described that way when it does seem
- 31:11Speaker 1: like it's I don't want to say easy to bust
- 31:15Speaker 1: her out of it, but it is. It is easier
- 31:18Speaker 1: than I was expecting it to be.
- 31:20Speaker 2: It just seems like.
- 31:22Speaker 1: We're really like gearing us up for this to seem
- 31:25Speaker 1: like maybe we have to save her life, and it's
- 31:30Speaker 1: not as dire when it comes down to it as
- 31:32Speaker 1: I thought it was going to be, which certainly may
- 31:36Speaker 1: simply be because we're only in the first time that
- 31:40Speaker 1: she goes into this state. I don't know what the
- 31:44Speaker 1: passage of time really is meant to be with this arc,
- 31:48Speaker 1: but it seems like we are in the same day
- 31:51Speaker 1: technically that the wedding took place, like this.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Is the evening of the day and the wedding was.
- 31:58Speaker 1: This morning, And if things are if the time is
- 32:01Speaker 1: like that slowed, then it's certainly possible at some other
- 32:06Speaker 1: point in this arc the moon will still be full
- 32:09Speaker 1: and she'll be able to do this again, and then
- 32:11Speaker 1: we are going to start to have to worry about
- 32:13Speaker 1: it a little bit more. I don't know, Seraphim says.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Also culture trivia, in East Asian cultures, there is a
- 32:21Speaker 1: heavy link for them between rabbits, especially white rabbits, and
- 32:25Speaker 1: the moon. So the first soo long we see being
- 32:27Speaker 1: a white rabbit makes total sense. The rabbit equals moon
- 32:30Speaker 1: thing is because the patterns that the West decided were
- 32:33Speaker 1: the man in the moon they see is a rabbit.
- 32:35Speaker 1: It's so funny because I have heard so many people
- 32:38Speaker 1: say they see a rabbit and not the man in
- 32:40Speaker 1: the moon, Like I feel like the man in the moon.
- 32:43Speaker 1: One guy said that, and everybody was like, oh, yeah,
- 32:45Speaker 1: I guess I see that, And it became like a
- 32:48Speaker 1: thing that we said even though most people don't seem
- 32:51Speaker 1: to see it. I don't see it, you know, And
- 32:55Speaker 1: so yeah, it's so weird. The thing with it being
- 32:58Speaker 1: a risk is more meant to be a mink. WHU
- 33:00Speaker 1: who hasn't trained to handle themselves in this state will
- 33:02Speaker 1: be harder to handle, more likely to go totally berserk.
- 33:05Speaker 1: To Serphim, that's true because like Jim Bay says something
- 33:09Speaker 1: to her as she is standing in the moonlight. He's like, Uh,
- 33:15Speaker 1: are you sure you can handle this?
- 33:18Speaker 2: Like really? So, yeah, it's a.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Wild transformation, you guys. She like, first, there's like a roar,
- 33:29Speaker 1: and we have almost what looks like lightning striking her,
- 33:33Speaker 1: and I think it's meant to be just like the
- 33:36Speaker 1: power of the moonlight, but it for a second I
- 33:39Speaker 1: thought that she had literally been struck by lightning. The
- 33:43Speaker 1: camera pulls out and we see her she's like on
- 33:45Speaker 1: the crow's nest of the ship, and then we get
- 33:50Speaker 1: this look at her. It is crazy looking. She's all
- 33:55Speaker 1: white and pure white. Her hair has gotten really long.
- 34:01Speaker 1: She's got a sort of rough around her neck that
- 34:04Speaker 1: I think is meant to be her fur. Her outfit
- 34:10Speaker 1: is I think differently colored as well, but it's the
- 34:14Speaker 1: same general look. And her voice has changed as well.
- 34:22Speaker 1: The voice actor. I don't know if it's like the
- 34:25Speaker 1: same voice actor doing a different tone of voice, or
- 34:28Speaker 1: if they changed up voice actors. But she's got a
- 34:31Speaker 1: much deeper, more mature sounding voice, because normally her voice
- 34:38Speaker 1: is very little kid like, you know, like she sounds
- 34:41Speaker 1: like she's twelve years old, and all of a sudden,
- 34:45Speaker 1: here she sounds like she's thirty two, you know, I
- 34:50Speaker 1: will say. Unfortunately, in these three episodes, we do get
- 35:00Speaker 1: at a recurrence of Brooke asking to see the panties
- 35:07Speaker 1: of both her and Big Mom. Now we all know
- 35:16Speaker 1: already that I hate this, but the fact that he
- 35:21Speaker 1: asks Big Mom as well weirdly made me relax a
- 35:28Speaker 1: little bit. It's like, because it's.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Not with her.
- 35:34Speaker 1: It's like he says something about how he just wants
- 35:36Speaker 1: to see what the panties of an emperor look like.
- 35:39Speaker 1: So it feels not less purvy exactly, but at the
- 35:45Speaker 1: very least it's not quite so like focused on just
- 35:52Speaker 1: the youngish female character that we've got going on in
- 35:56Speaker 1: a way that makes me feel like ill really, especially
- 35:59Speaker 1: in light of the fact of what I talked about
- 36:02Speaker 1: last episode guys, which is that Oda is like Bestie's
- 36:05Speaker 1: with a convicted pedophile. So that just makes me deeply uncomfortable.
- 36:12Speaker 1: It just was enough of a mitigating factor that I
- 36:16Speaker 1: put my pitchfork down. I'll just say that, you know,
- 36:20Speaker 1: I was. It does take a minute before he says that,
- 36:25Speaker 1: and previous to that, he asked to see her panties
- 36:27Speaker 1: a couple times, so I was starting to get pretty heated.
- 36:31Speaker 1: But yes, eventually it's also directed a Big Mom, and
- 36:35Speaker 1: I was like, all right, I guess fine, but she
- 36:41Speaker 1: is really really awesome looking here, Like it's just everybody
- 36:49Speaker 1: is staring at her, and I think Jimbay even says
- 36:52Speaker 1: like it's mesmerizing, isn't it? And Nami says, oh, now,
- 36:58Speaker 1: something that Dogstorm said makes sense. And we have a
- 37:04Speaker 1: flashback where he's talking about like we had one weapon
- 37:08Speaker 1: left in our arsenal, and next time we're going to
- 37:12Speaker 1: be prepared because we aren't going to hold back. And
- 37:19Speaker 1: the thing that's sort of you know, he's talking like
- 37:25Speaker 1: they get to choose.
- 37:27Speaker 2: When the moon is full.
- 37:28Speaker 1: You know, if this is dependent on the moon, I
- 37:32Speaker 1: don't know if it's like, even if it's not full,
- 37:35Speaker 1: we can sort of like harness the power of the
- 37:38Speaker 1: moon anyway, but you know, if they decide to attack
- 37:43Speaker 1: you again when the moon isn't full, I don't really
- 37:47Speaker 1: know if that's like something that will help that you can.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Do this, you know, I don't know.
- 37:56Speaker 1: And oh, and I should mention because I said that
- 37:58Speaker 1: her hair gets really long, but her tail also gets
- 38:02Speaker 1: really long, so she's got like these two layers of
- 38:06Speaker 1: white fur that are like rippling behind her, almost like
- 38:11Speaker 1: a giant cape. She looks cool as hell. Her ears
- 38:16Speaker 1: also get way longer, and I've already mentioned that her
- 38:18Speaker 1: eyes like it's just a sclera of her eyes is
- 38:20Speaker 1: dark red, and then her irises and pupils are both
- 38:24Speaker 1: different shades of red as well. And this is when
- 38:28Speaker 1: we jump over to the the other guys on the ship,
- 38:34Speaker 1: who are like, wait a second, Oh no, I think
- 38:38Speaker 1: that this is a so long thing. We don't want
- 38:41Speaker 1: to mess with this. And just as they're saying this,
- 38:44Speaker 1: she jumps off the crow's nest and begins to shoot
- 38:48Speaker 1: towards the ships like she's floating practically, and everybody is like,
- 38:53Speaker 1: god damn, that is awesome, and I love JIMBEI in
- 38:56Speaker 1: the background being like, guys, trusts me, this is fucking nothing.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Just wait a second. And somebody is watching.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Her on one of the ships and says something like
- 39:08Speaker 1: is it normal for a rabbit to be able to
- 39:11Speaker 1: just skim over the top of the water like that?
- 39:14Speaker 1: And somebody else goes, who cares, just shoot her? And
- 39:18Speaker 1: I was like, that is correct. Why are you asking
- 39:23Speaker 1: if it's normal? Even if it were normal, that does
- 39:26Speaker 1: not change what y'all need to do right now, right
- 39:30Speaker 1: So they all pull out their guns and they try
- 39:34Speaker 1: to shoot her, and she is just absolutely untouched. She
- 39:38Speaker 1: is dodging everything and coming in with her like electric power,
- 39:44Speaker 1: where she's shoving her hand into the deck of the
- 39:47Speaker 1: ship and sending out a charge that knocks everybody on
- 39:50Speaker 1: the deck nearby out. She jumps into a crowd of
- 39:57Speaker 1: pirates and like spins and and electrocutes all of them
- 40:03Speaker 1: like she's a windmill. One guy she bites his neck,
- 40:08Speaker 1: electrocutes in that way she does like basically like a
- 40:12Speaker 1: roundhouse and cartwheel, and electrocutes everybody that she passes with this.
- 40:20Speaker 1: It is like a weird combination of a melee and
- 40:27Speaker 1: arranged attack, you know, where she has to be like
- 40:31Speaker 1: in and amongst them to a degree, but she doesn't
- 40:35Speaker 1: need to actually make contact with all of them for
- 40:38Speaker 1: this to work, you know. And this one dude, I
- 40:46Speaker 1: can't remember his name. Guys, what's the name of the
- 40:48Speaker 1: dude who's I think this is the guy with the
- 40:50Speaker 1: genie inside him, right, the blonde with the giant like
- 40:55Speaker 1: beach ball epaulets. He's yelling at her, do you really
- 41:01Speaker 1: think you could take down the entire fleet like that?
- 41:03Speaker 1: Cause it's gonna take you a while. And like, in
- 41:06Speaker 1: the meantime, there's no reason that we can't just shink
- 41:09Speaker 1: that sink that ship, shrink that sip. And as he's
- 41:14Speaker 1: saying this, he goes ugh and realizes that she is
- 41:20Speaker 1: literally holding the steering wheel for the ship and the
- 41:26Speaker 1: whole ship is just adrift right now. And he says,
- 41:31Speaker 1: you think you're a clever rabbit right now, don't you?
- 41:35Speaker 1: And she actually like smiles at him and blushes a
- 41:39Speaker 1: little bit as if to be like, I do, Yeah,
- 41:43Speaker 1: I am pretty clever actually, And I enjoyed that a lot.
- 41:47Speaker 1: I just weird because she's so badass and so serious
- 41:52Speaker 1: that just this little moment of her being like tee.
- 41:55Speaker 2: He, I liked it. I liked it a lot.
- 42:00Speaker 1: So see, I want to make sure that I get
- 42:02Speaker 1: everything that happens here without like, because her fight, like
- 42:06Speaker 1: I said, is the most interesting one, so I want
- 42:10Speaker 1: to make sure that I do not miss any of that.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Oh right, So, as this is all like, as she
- 42:22Speaker 1: is going from ship to ship, Mom is still riding
- 42:28Speaker 1: on top of that like weird.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Wave of candy water.
- 42:34Speaker 1: It's it's unclear to me exactly. It's orange now also
- 42:38Speaker 1: where previously it had been red. But she's sort of
- 42:43Speaker 1: like on all fours and panting. She is really not
- 42:47Speaker 1: doing great, and it's starting to be like.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Oh, what are we? How are we?
- 42:52Speaker 1: Going to be able to make sure that big mom
- 42:58Speaker 1: like gets to the end of the because what if
- 43:01Speaker 1: she actually stars to death due to what seems to
- 43:04Speaker 1: be almost like a hypermetabolism.
- 43:06Speaker 2: On her part, you know.
- 43:10Speaker 1: And we have this bit where we go over to
- 43:15Speaker 1: Zeus and Prometheus and Zeus is saying to Prometheus, none
- 43:24Speaker 1: of this would have happened if you didn't need to
- 43:27Speaker 1: go back and eat all that fire, and Prometheus says,
- 43:31Speaker 1: I needed that fire because you hurt me, because you're
- 43:36Speaker 1: a trader, and is like, you know, we are the
- 43:41Speaker 1: homies of Mom's soul and you betrayed her, which is insane.
- 43:48Speaker 2: I can't believe that you would try and throw shit
- 43:50Speaker 2: in my.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Face right now. And Zeus is like, I mean, fair,
- 43:56Speaker 1: but I gotta say those thunderclouds I ate were really
- 43:59Speaker 1: fun good though, And from Metheus is that I cannot
- 44:04Speaker 1: even look at you right now. Are you serious? You're
- 44:06Speaker 1: not even like ashamed of yourself. So we have Meanwhile,
- 44:14Speaker 1: as Carot is like out here laying waste to a bunch
- 44:18Speaker 1: of pirates, Chopper is watching her through the binoculars and
- 44:23Speaker 1: I really did enjoy Nami being like, this is super unfair.
- 44:27Speaker 1: You can't just keep exclaiming and not tell me what
- 44:29Speaker 1: the fuck is going on. I can't see anything, Chopper,
- 44:32Speaker 1: please tell me what is happening. And finally he and
- 44:37Speaker 1: Brooke are like, all right, we've got to do some shit.
- 44:39Speaker 1: And Brooke, uh, he's going out onto these ships and
- 44:43Speaker 1: playing a melody with his violin that's like causing people
- 44:48Speaker 1: to fall asleep. Carrot is still whirling around with her
- 44:53Speaker 1: incredible electricity powers, and she also like blasts one of
- 44:58Speaker 1: the ship's masts right off the day.
- 45:00Speaker 2: It's like just a stump.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Keeps stealing the steering wheels from various ships as well,
- 45:07Speaker 1: but we do see her starting to like breathe heavily
- 45:12Speaker 1: and sweat, and she's thinking to herself, like, I can't
- 45:16Speaker 1: keep this up all that much longer. We have the
- 45:20Speaker 1: uh Genie who is trying to get Carrot, and he's
- 45:27Speaker 1: just really off with his aim and keeps slicing his
- 45:31Speaker 1: own allies ships in half. It's embarrassing actually, like he
- 45:37Speaker 1: says something like, Okay, one more try, and I'm like,
- 45:40Speaker 1: you just broke a whole ship. No, no, one more try.
- 45:43Speaker 1: You did it once and that's embarrassing, and now you stop.
- 45:48Speaker 1: I can't believe that he is still just like yeah, yeah,
- 45:50Speaker 1: let me try this same exact thing again, like are
- 45:53Speaker 1: you fucking high? So she lands on one deck and
- 45:58Speaker 1: she like collapses to her and we see the genie
- 46:04Speaker 1: like rearing up about to use a technique called guillotine
- 46:10Speaker 1: on her, and Karen fully thinks that she is going
- 46:14Speaker 1: to die, and it's just like, yeah, sorry about this, pager.
- 46:17Speaker 1: I know that you believed in me, but you know
- 46:19Speaker 1: I did my best. And then of course she is
- 46:24Speaker 1: rescued abruptly by Brooke, who Brooke has a few things
- 46:28Speaker 1: to do this episode that are actually kind of great.
- 46:33Speaker 1: He swoops in and rescues her and brings her back
- 46:38Speaker 1: to the Sonny and he says a machine to say,
- 46:44Speaker 1: all I could do was put one ship's crew to sleep.
- 46:47Speaker 1: You were amazing time to rest. And I really liked
- 46:51Speaker 1: that between him and not him and everybody, honestly, she
- 46:58Speaker 1: had been kind of self caught. Just it seems like
- 47:01Speaker 1: that she didn't do enough, and everybody is saying to her, no, no, no,
- 47:06Speaker 1: trust me. You made the difference between us being sunk
- 47:10Speaker 1: or not like this you Without you, this would be
- 47:15Speaker 1: a wrap for all of us. So this is when
- 47:21Speaker 1: Big Mom calls out for Zeus and Prometheus, and we
- 47:26Speaker 1: see her catapulting through the air like it's it's because
- 47:33Speaker 1: apparently she's lost weight. Now she's way more spry than
- 47:38Speaker 1: she was, so she is doing things that they apparently
- 47:42Speaker 1: like she had been capable of once upon a time
- 47:44Speaker 1: but hasn't done in a long time.
- 47:47Speaker 2: So she's riding.
- 47:49Speaker 1: Zeus the cloud and they're heading straight for the ship
- 47:52Speaker 1: and all of the straw hats are like, oh flok,
- 47:56Speaker 1: because they really thought that they had managed to get away.
- 48:00Speaker 1: She has her hat turned into a sword the way
- 48:02Speaker 1: that she do, and then she puts a hand out
- 48:08Speaker 1: and she has Prometheus basically wrap a he like slides
- 48:14Speaker 1: up her arm and seems to settle on her head
- 48:17Speaker 1: and her hair turns to fire.
- 48:22Speaker 2: So it's sort of odd.
- 48:24Speaker 1: Because like his face is still there, but it's really
- 48:26Speaker 1: very much like a shape. It's almost like a jack
- 48:29Speaker 1: a lantern face hovering above her face. And it's not
- 48:32Speaker 1: even always visible. It depends like how far out the
- 48:36Speaker 1: camera has pulled, and then you can sort of see
- 48:38Speaker 1: it there, but really the focus is meant to be
- 48:42Speaker 1: that like almost as if Big Mom has absorbed him
- 48:46Speaker 1: kind of even though that's not exactly what's even happening here.
- 48:49Speaker 2: You know. So yeah, we are all very like fuck because.
- 48:56Speaker 1: We thought we had done something just now with Kara,
- 48:59Speaker 1: and now it seems like Big Bomb has simply leveled
- 49:01Speaker 1: up somehow. And this is when we have Jimbay being like, everybody,
- 49:09Speaker 1: get ready because we may have to abandon ship, and
- 49:11Speaker 1: he tries to reason with her, and this is when
- 49:17Speaker 1: she says something about how she'll murder her her own
- 49:19Speaker 1: son if it turns out that he was lying to her,
- 49:22Speaker 1: and he's just like, ah, fuck, I really didn't think
- 49:25Speaker 1: she was gonna remember any of this shit. And she's
- 49:29Speaker 1: standing over Jimbay with the fucking sword out. Nami is saying,
- 49:35Speaker 1: get away from her, jimbe and she swings and he
- 49:38Speaker 1: uses his hockey and uh, she lands this blow that
- 49:45Speaker 1: like he gets. He's not squashed, because that implies that
- 49:51Speaker 1: he's like really killed, but it's it's a heavy blow.
- 49:55Speaker 1: He goes.
- 49:57Speaker 2: He gets at the at the very least, he has.
- 50:01Speaker 1: To go down into a pretty intense squat, I would say,
- 50:05Speaker 1: but he is like holding his own against her. It's
- 50:09Speaker 1: genuinely somewhat impressive because I was thinking this was not
- 50:12Speaker 1: going to work at all, and I'm sort of worried that, like,
- 50:15Speaker 1: is he going to just accidentally have misjudged. And then
- 50:21Speaker 1: she puts a fucking hole in the ship, which incidentally
- 50:27Speaker 1: does wind up happening, like he gets thrown through the
- 50:32Speaker 1: banister on the edge of the ship pretty much. And
- 50:35Speaker 1: then Big Mom like slams trying to get broke, and
- 50:41Speaker 1: she lands on the banister and begins to saw back
- 50:44Speaker 1: and forth. And what Nammy realizes, which I didn't get
- 50:51Speaker 1: at all, is that what Big One is trying to
- 50:54Speaker 1: do is break a hole in the ceiling of the
- 50:57Speaker 1: room that Carrot is in to expose her to the moonlight. Again,
- 51:07Speaker 1: did not put that together, Guys, I was not understanding this,
- 51:11Speaker 1: And the fact that Big Mom has her wits about
- 51:18Speaker 1: her enough to think of doing this is really worrying
- 51:21Speaker 1: because I was really operating like Perros where I thought
- 51:25Speaker 1: it's you know, she just isn't fully with it. I
- 51:29Speaker 1: think we can be forgiven for thinking that because her
- 51:32Speaker 1: assumption that the straw hats have her cake somehow, it
- 51:37Speaker 1: still doesn't really make any sense when you stop and
- 51:39Speaker 1: remember that the cake was the size of several buildings
- 51:43Speaker 1: that she thinks they're hiding it on the sunny like
- 51:45Speaker 1: it just doesn't it really doesn't make any sense. But
- 51:49Speaker 1: setting that aside, she begins to reach for Nami, and
- 51:54Speaker 1: Chopper's taking a rumble ball and puts himself between Nami
- 51:57Speaker 1: and Big Mom. But Big Mom just like picks his
- 52:00Speaker 1: ass up and once sees in her hand he's about
- 52:04Speaker 1: in proportion to her, like the size of a basketball.
- 52:07Speaker 2: He looks so big.
- 52:09Speaker 1: But once she's holding him, I was just like, oh no,
- 52:13Speaker 1: I thought that maybe he'd be able to do something,
- 52:15Speaker 1: and it's like he is just at her mercy and
- 52:17Speaker 1: she's already talking about how he is like even weirder
- 52:21Speaker 1: than she thought, and so now he's gonna make an
- 52:24Speaker 1: even better addition to her collection. YadA YadA. And we
- 52:34Speaker 1: have like Brooke intervening, and I'm having to speed things
- 52:37Speaker 1: up here because I'm reaching the end of my time.
- 52:40Speaker 1: But Jimbay is like saying, you need to get.
- 52:45Speaker 2: The fuck off of this ship right.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Now, and she's like, yeah, I'll definitely just take off
- 52:52Speaker 1: because you asked me to. And Jimbay pulls a technique
- 52:57Speaker 1: it's like vagabond something, and he punches her in the
- 53:01Speaker 1: stomach which I actually wondered if her hunger pang would
- 53:07Speaker 1: be affected by this, if it were like, you know,
- 53:10Speaker 1: it's it's her stomach. I thought maybe this was going
- 53:12Speaker 1: to be something that like there was would be maybe
- 53:16Speaker 1: a reaction somehow, But really he just basically punches her
- 53:23Speaker 1: physically off the.
- 53:24Speaker 2: Ship, and Zeus swoops down and.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Lands under her and manages to keep her from falling
- 53:30Speaker 1: into the water, and they seem to fly away. Everybody's
- 53:34Speaker 1: cheering and it's like, oh cool, you did it.
- 53:36Speaker 2: You got her off the.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Ship, And I like, was very much guys, she's right there,
- 53:44Speaker 1: She's on a cloud that can turn around and drop
- 53:48Speaker 1: her right back on the deck in a second.
- 53:50Speaker 2: Why are you so like cheery? And jim By turns
- 53:55Speaker 2: around and.
- 53:55Speaker 1: Basically says this to all of them, is like, you
- 53:58Speaker 1: guys can't lower your guard.
- 53:59Speaker 2: What do you doing?
- 54:00Speaker 1: And each of them Nami's like, you're right, and Choppers says,
- 54:05Speaker 1: we won't drop our guard, and then Brooke just says,
- 54:09Speaker 1: you make a good point with his like weird delivery
- 54:12Speaker 1: that is always fucking hilarious to me. So he says,
- 54:20Speaker 1: you know it won't be long, jim Bay says, until
- 54:24Speaker 1: she is on her feet again, so we've got to
- 54:28Speaker 1: just like put some distance between us as fast as
- 54:32Speaker 1: we can. And the camera pulls back and we see
- 54:35Speaker 1: that there's a big scorch mark going up into one
- 54:39Speaker 1: of the sales. It's been not completely cut in half,
- 54:43Speaker 1: but it's definitely sustained a fair amount of damage. And
- 54:47Speaker 1: is this sale with their like emblem on it? So
- 54:53Speaker 1: at this point Mom stands back up and says, oh,
- 54:59Speaker 1: not bad, jimbay, but you've given me an idea. Let
- 55:04Speaker 1: me just slice your ship and that way I'll be
- 55:09Speaker 1: able to see where my cake is all the more easily.
- 55:14Speaker 1: And as she's saying this, her fucking sword expands in length.
- 55:20Speaker 1: It like doubles in length. So not me, says, I
- 55:25Speaker 1: know how to handle this, and she begins to spin
- 55:28Speaker 1: her climatettach uh like post rod thing, and says, zeus,
- 55:35Speaker 1: do you want more treats? And he's like absolutely, so
- 55:41Speaker 1: he starts to come toward her and she's like, yeah,
- 55:43Speaker 1: these are all for you, and he's like looking like
- 55:47Speaker 1: he really is taken in, and then he says, wait
- 55:52Speaker 1: a second, I know you're tricking me, And all of
- 55:55Speaker 1: a sudden, you just see what appears to benny skeleton
- 56:01Speaker 1: as she is ruthlessly electrocuted by the lightning coming off
- 56:06Speaker 1: of Zeus. And I was watching this like, oh, okay,
- 56:13Speaker 1: but then I noticed that something about the skull looked weird,
- 56:17Speaker 1: and a moment later, Brooke just says it was me,
- 56:23Speaker 1: and I was like, oh.
- 56:26Speaker 2: Man, that was pretty good.
- 56:27Speaker 1: Actually he just managed to like take that attack on
- 56:31Speaker 1: her behalf.
- 56:33Speaker 2: Are you shocked?
- 56:35Speaker 1: Since I lack flesh and guts, your attack had no effect.
- 56:40Speaker 1: So at this point, Mom says, sure you want to
- 56:43Speaker 1: fight me, soul King, and he says I am not
- 56:46Speaker 1: ready to give up. And he's coming at her covered
- 56:49Speaker 1: in fire, spitting like a top. Essentially it looks impressive,
- 56:55Speaker 1: but she is so frigging strong that he lands this
- 57:00Speaker 1: blow on her and it doesn't do shit. It doesn't
- 57:05Speaker 1: even pierce her skin. It's not even drawing a drop
- 57:08Speaker 1: of blood. Nothing, And she's like, I can't believe you
- 57:13Speaker 1: forgot that this is the like you tried to do
- 57:18Speaker 1: this once before. This is when he says, I recall,
- 57:22Speaker 1: but might I suggest that you give me a brief
- 57:24Speaker 1: glimpse of what an emperor's panties might look like? And
- 57:27Speaker 1: there's just this pause as she looks down at him
- 57:30Speaker 1: and goes huh, and everybody else is also like dude, really,
- 57:40Speaker 1: And then we've got Zeus cannoning toward them, with Mom
- 57:44Speaker 1: on his back, Brooke leaping into the air and saying
- 57:49Speaker 1: to Da that should do it.
- 57:52Speaker 2: Never you mind.
- 57:54Speaker 1: It's over now three verse humming soul not slash, which
- 58:01Speaker 1: is very hard to say. And the Kara pulls out
- 58:05Speaker 1: and we see that Zeus has been sliced in half.
- 58:09Speaker 1: That was who he was actually aiming for. So I'm wondering,
- 58:16Speaker 1: isn't this something that we can just heal? Like he's
- 58:19Speaker 1: a cloud, right, Nami points at him and says, discharge
- 58:24Speaker 1: and you'll feel way better, ZUSI pooh, And she's doing
- 58:30Speaker 1: something underneath him, and I couldn't understand exactly what was
- 58:34Speaker 1: going on here. It's like a ring of lightning, and
- 58:41Speaker 1: I think it's supposed to be. Nami puts the clouds
- 58:47Speaker 1: in place, and then the electricity in Zeus transfers to
- 58:52Speaker 1: the clouds and that results in Mom getting struck by
- 58:55Speaker 1: the lightning.
- 58:56Speaker 2: Somehow, I really did not understand how this worked.
- 59:01Speaker 1: Like I can see that it's supposed to be. What
- 59:04Speaker 1: she's doing effects zeus somehow. But I don't really understand
- 59:07Speaker 1: how this happens. I like it in terms of the
- 59:12Speaker 1: fact that it wasn't about cutting her, that it was
- 59:17Speaker 1: a misdirect I like the fact that Nami gets to
- 59:20Speaker 1: do something that's like apparently kind of clutched, because this
- 59:24Speaker 1: does succeed, like big Mom screams and we see her
- 59:28Speaker 1: light up. So this is the first thing that it
- 59:30Speaker 1: feels has done like any I won't say any real
- 59:34Speaker 1: damage because jimbe punching her. She did get hit and
- 59:38Speaker 1: go flying, but it didn't even like she didn't even scream. Then,
- 59:43Speaker 1: it was just a physical reaction of like she gets
- 59:45Speaker 1: punched away, but it didn't seem as if she was
- 59:48Speaker 1: hurt by it exactly, you know. So I'm not exactly
- 59:52Speaker 1: certain the way that this is meant to work. Florian says,
- 59:59Speaker 1: she kind of forces us to discharge and the only
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: place that electricity can go is Mom, and she can
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: do this because weather wizard. So what about the ring
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: of clouds that she had, all of these little clouds
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: that was surrounding them, is that to keep the electricity
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: from going anywhere else, like they would catch it? Essentially,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: like she's making sort of a closed loop. This is
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: the sort of thing that feels like, like I accept
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: that as an explanation, but it is so much more
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: detail regarding whose sh like how her power works than
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: we've ever gotten before that it's almost like weird to
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: suddenly have this kind of detail about it dropped into things.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: But Sarahim says, yeah, directing slash amplifying the electricity. Okay, hmmm,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: well I like it, and I'm interested to see if
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: this has any like lasting effect. I guess we're gonna
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: have to wait and see. But yeah, I really like
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: these episodes, so I'm very excited that next time I
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: get to watch four of them. Looking forward to it,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: get it forward four of them? Mahat, I am extremely funny.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: All right, guys, I will see you next week. Until then,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: to the Loo motherfuckers. That was an unspoiled network podcast
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: is true
