Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hey guys, welcome in.
- 0:01[SPEAKER_01]: This is the Orange and Blue view.
- 0:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Chad Jensen.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's Ron White.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_01]: We're here to break down your Denver Broncos on the doorstep of Ron the Green Bay Packers who are coming into town as favorites over a team that's 11 and 2 that has won 10 in a row and has lost since whatever week six or week eight of 2024.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_01]: in what world doesn't make sense wrong for the Broncos to be underdogs at home in this situation.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_01]: I would understand if it was on the road.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, in Denver, how do you make sense of that?
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Chad, it doesn't make sense.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't make sense.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: And again, hey, hey, everyone, thank you for tuning in.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, it does not make sense at all, but, you know, at the end of the day,
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: You know, a lot of the, you know, the better they're just, they're still not believers in and the bruncles.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I think this is more Chad that they trust Matt LaFlor Jordan love and what the Green Bay Packers can do because that that is a solid team, you know, Jordan love with Jalen Reed, Christian Watson, Josh Jacobs and Michael Parsons.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: They do have a real good team.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and I think, you know, they're, they're basing it off of kind of what they've done over the past you games, I think they're on a four game winning streak.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: So, um, you know, but it's going to be a tough challenge.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, there's never Broncos team that haven't lost their home since last year.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I do think, you know, although the test is going to be tough tomorrow, I do think the Broncos have a good chance to shot them with this game.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: Just for craps and giggles, Ron, real quick.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm reminding myself, I thought it was week six last year was the last home loss, let's see.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, dude.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: Was that the, yeah, the Charities game?
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was Chargers at home last year.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, exactly so I don't know.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of kind of irritating.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: We'll put a pin in that for a moment guys.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like now when I look at you guys at the camera.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like peering way up into the sky.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: This is so weird for me.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, but a shout out to the supporters and the members that are in the chat tonight.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: like Papa Bear checking in with the spirit of Christmas on his mind and in his heart.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Papa Bear.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: Great to see you, Big Dog.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: It says Merry Christmas Broncos Country.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: Love 13 and 4 plus plus plus plus we all know what it means.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: Hashtag God bless the USA.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Big Dog.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: So good to see you this Saturday night.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: We got David Kramalo in the house.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: This man is a hard worker.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: I tell you what, he gets after it on his podcast.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: And anytime I go to the senior bull, he's there on the grind doing his thing.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's great to see a big dog.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for the super chat.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: So the packers are arguably the most balanced team.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos have played so far this season.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a reasonable chance Denver loses three of the last four.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: A reasonable chance, yeah.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: But like, I think Ron, we blew well past.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_01]: reason a long time ago.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this team is one 10 straight games like who on planet earth saw that coming.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: I will tell you nobody.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: I would say though you're you're pretty true on this decrom.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: But Ron, I would also say that the Eagles, they weren't quite playing as well.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's still early in the season, but not that early as week five.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: They were pretty balanced team and look at where they're at now.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: But what are your thoughts here for decrom?
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, do you come up?
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for coming in.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: I appreciate it.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: You're right.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: You make a fair statement that Denver can lose the next three other four games.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: They could also win the next three of their four games.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, I see what you're coming from.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: I do see your point.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: The pack is again, taking nothing away from what Matt LaFlor, Jordan Love, Josh Jacobs, Micah Parsons, and that squad has done this year.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: They have been a great team.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: And they've been a great team for the past several years.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: but given what you've seen from the Broncos this year and kind of what they've done at home.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: Again, we know what the defense represents for Denver and how Chad the offense has gotten better over the past few weeks.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: Again, it's probably not where you want to be, but you kind of wanna at least show signs of improvement.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: As you're, you know, getting toward the end of the season and into the playoffs and you're seeing that now with Bonax and RJ Harvey.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I see your point, but they can also very well win three of the next four games too.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, you compare what they're facing down the stretch here, David, to what the Patriots are facing with their were a bottom three team schedule this season, right, because hey, kudos to them.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: I was talking about it today on Broncos book club with the members kudos to them for taking care of their schedule, but the Broncos are playing playoff schedule.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: a team that made the playoffs last year schedule, while the Patriots are playing about a softball of a schedule as it gets.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: Now, two of their final four, Ron, are pretty hairy.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: I could see him losing two more, possibly more, because my mindset on the Patriots is more like what the national mindset is on the Broncos.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not convinced.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm still a little bit skeptical just because it is a young quarterback.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, variables and experience head coach, but he hasn't really won anything, and I don't think they've really played anybody.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: Nevertheless, it doesn't matter, Ron, the schedule is the schedule, the standings are the standings.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: They got to take on Buffalo, they got to take on the Ravens.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: I could see him losing both those games.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: Now, if they beat Buffalo,
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to take him a lot more seriously as like a bonafide, you know, forced to be reckoned with in the AFC.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos mean while they got a not only play the Packers, non-conference tomorrow, but then they got to play the Frick and Jags Kansas City in Kansas City.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: Look, Kansas City is not the Kansas City, Ron of 2024, but it's still,
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: that's still a very good team that somehow just got up on the wrong side of the bed this season like who knows how and why it happened all we know is we're here for it.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then you got to close out wrong with the chargers in Denver though.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's a tough final row to hoe, but I'm still confident in this team because
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: they just continue to find ways to win.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, thank you, D. Crom Shannon.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: I dear member jumping in with a very generous super chat, really appreciate you.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: My friend, great to see you tonight.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: Says good evening.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos at home are tough to beat.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: This will be a challenge.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: But like Jake, but you feel me?
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think the beat fence putting pressure on love
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: maneuvering the way he has the Broncos win.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, dude.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think Ron Bonix.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's kind of do for a big game like statistically he's done much better since that Thursday night game against the Raiders where he played so poorly and he got a bunch of bad blowback.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: He has played much much better these last couple of games, few games, three games.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: But oddly enough, Ron, the touchdowns haven't been
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: And if he throws one more, he'll become the fifth quarterback in Broncos history to post back to back seasons of 20 passing touchdowns, joining guys like John L.A. Peyton Manning.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's due for a big kind of statistic game, like Sean Peyton in the red zone, watch out for Boneyx throwing the ball.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: I agree, Chad.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: And again, Shannon, thank you for coming
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: a nice balanced game run and pass.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: Again, you saw what happened with the Raiders last week, which was great sustaining those long drives, you know, running the ball that will with RJ Harvey, but you also want to see Nick's do it in the air.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: You want to see those touchdowns come back.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: So I do expect, you know, the ground game to continue to improve with Harvey,
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I did like what I saw last week against the Raiders, but also you want the passing game to to be a factor.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: And I do think this week chat.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: Sean Payton's going to scheme up some things for next to throw some touchdowns specifically in the red zone.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: And also Shannon to your point, you know, the deep putting pressure on love.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: I do think that's going to happen now.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: According to the, to the analytics, Jordan love has been one of the better quarterbacks against man coverage and you know that's what VJ loves.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I think, you know, VJ is just going to have to confuse them a bit, maybe employ some simulated pressures to get them off the spot.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, um, but I, I do think, you know, I do like the Broncos chances given this defense and it's at home with the crowd.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I do think the Broncos are definitely going to going to come up big here.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you the deciding factor to me, if you guys read the Mile High Round Table, you saw that I picked the Broncos, and I'll tell you what the deciding factor was.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: Here in just a second, guys, lots more to get to, including many more of your comments and super chats, but first, listen up, guys.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: Here we are in the holiday season, and
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: You got to take care of your mental health.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: It shouldn't be harder than taking care of your physical health.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: If you think about it, if you pull a muscle or you're suddenly your back starts hurting, you go and see a doctor, but when it comes to finding the right therapist, suddenly it's frustrating, you're dealing with a long waiting list or you have to confront huge out-of-pocket costs and any one of these factors around can stop people from getting the health they need.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that's where Rula comes in.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: Rula makes it simple, affordable, and fast.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: They work with most major insurance plans and the average session copay is just $15.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: 15 bucks, you say?
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: That's basically the cost of lunch, but instead of a sandwich, you're investing in your own headspace.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: And guys, with Rula, you're not just matched with the therapist and left to figure it out,
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: They make sure that you're actually making progress.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: Every therapist on the platform is licensed, vetted and picked for their expertise.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: So you know you're talking to someone legit, not just whoever happens to be available.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: So that's right, getting started couldn't be any easier.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: You answer a few quick questions about what matters to you and Rula connects you with in-network providers who actually fit your needs.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: You pick the time and you could be talking to a therapist as soon as the next day.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: No weeks of waiting, no endless back and forth.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: bottom line.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: If you've been putting this off, Rula takes away the excuses.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: Simple, affordable, and actually built to help you get better.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: Thousands of guys have already used Rula to finally get the care that they needed.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: Don't keep putting it off.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_01]: Go to Rula.com slash mile high and get started
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: take the first step, get connected, and take control of your mental health.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: All right, back to the chat we go, we got David Young Conchecking in with by the way, I guess I got to tell you the distinguishing factor for me and why I felt the warm and fuzzy, because when we make these picks wrong, what do we do?
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: We're going with our gut, you know, we weigh it out over the week, we chew on it, we hem, we ha.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: And then we finally make the pick whatever our pick may be and it's kind of based on gut.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: And what was given me that last little bit of and warm and fuzzy and like, ooh, Broncos are going to win this is the fact that the odds make are set them up as home dogs hearing what Sean Peyton said on Wednesday.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: Here in what Bonyx said here and what other guys like Drake Greenlaw said about being home underdogs.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think the Broncos are looking to prove themselves big time against the Packers and Green Bay
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: They're not going to like it.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: You remember like Wade Phillips when they're beating the snott out of Tom Brady in the F.C.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: changing and Vaughn Miller come running off the field after successful sack and Wade Phillips be like, he don't like it.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: He don't like it.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: Tom Brady is like, taking it out there.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: David Young, that's how the packers are going to feel tomorrow.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: David Young can brother.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for being a member in your support.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: If the Pat's Lucy says and the Broncos Luz would we still be in control of the AFC.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: I believe so, Ron, but I got to check.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead and answer them.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: I'll double check it.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: So they would be FC North six losses, Jags four losses.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: So yes.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: Correct.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: So again, David, thank you for coming.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: And so your Broncos will still be in control.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, still control their own destiny for that number one seed.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I think after this week, you know, you would also want to see, you know, another loss from New England to kind of solidify that.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: I know they have the Ravens.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_00]: And one of these division opponents could play spoiler.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I know the jets and the dolphins, you know, aren't great teams in their division, but one of them could be playing spoiler in the coming weeks.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, Broncos still would control their own destiny as that number one seed.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so real quick, the final four games for the Patriots Buffalo in New England tomorrow.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: Then on the road at Baltimore, and Baltimore still has something to play for.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: Then on the road at the jets and then home closing out against the dolphins.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: So this is why as you read these articles, Eric puts out each week, this late in the season about the
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: you actually want the dolphins to keep winning.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: You want the ravens to keep winning only because you need and want them to have something to play for when they cross paths with the Patriots.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: So keep that in mind.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, thank you again, David, before we get too deep into this episode, guys.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: We got to talk real quick here, Ron, about the actual headline of tonight's stream, which is the flurry of roster moves, the Broncos made.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: Now, in season, it's common, and in fact, is the usual for the Broncos to make a couple of roster moves.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: The night before a game because they're elevating two guys from the practice squad each week.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: They can elevate two guys They do it almost every game in this instance though.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: There was a flurry of things So for the press release and by the way Zach had the article right up for us at myohoodle.com go read the article, but
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos promoted inside line-backer rookie, Jordan Turner, to the 53, because he was out of elevation.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: So they had maxed out.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: It was like, they either had to sign him to the 53 or they'd have to wave him after the game.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: So he was signed to the 53.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: They elevated Michael Bandie and Sam Elinger to the 53-man roster for the game against the Packers.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: And then also Mercedes Lewis
- 15:44[SPEAKER_01]: passed through the waiver wire, signed back to the practice squad.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: So he stays in the full.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: And
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: Regarding the Michael Bandy elevation, we know because Pat Bryan's been ruled out, he's going to come in and help, and also, Bandy does help with special teams as well.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: That was probably the nod as to why he got it over Elijah Moore.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_00]: I know some people were asking about Elijah Moore, so that helped there.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: is now ready to go.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_00]: So that's good.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of sucks, Pat Bryant, Chad, you know, with the hamstring, but you know, it's got to be careful with those things.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: Just because he's been playing so well, but it's good that Matt, you know, bandies been elevated for tomorrow.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out bigger and good to see a pal Broncos country only indeed.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_01]: We got David Yunkie jumping in again buddy.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for the super chat love really means a lot to us brother.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_01]: He says the paths had a home game before the buy and a home game after the buy.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: How lucky was that?
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's lucky but remember kind of like, I mean, everybody knew the Broncos would be playoff relevant this year after what we saw last season.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody saw the Broncos being the one seed entering week 15.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: for saw that.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_01]: But even fewer people around saw the the patriots basically being in a tie situation for the one seed this deep into the season.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: look they've been helped though by as I mentioned earlier virtue of their relatively soft schedule.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean this is this is what they've faced this this season.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: I mean they lost to the Raiders by the way.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's how they opened the season so it wasn't looking great to start things but they lost to the Steelers they beat the Panthers they beat the bills on the road which by the way that was a big win for them
- 17:44[SPEAKER_01]: And then after that, it's kind of like, you know, it's Saints, Titans, Browns, Falcons, Bucks was a tougher matchup, but the Bucks, Ron, have really regressed the second half of the season.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: And, but still, give it to him.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: The Bucks were legit in week 10.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: They beat him.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: Then they beat the jets.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: They beat the bangles.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to remember, we 12.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: That preceded Burrow's return.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: So that was the
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: At home, as you mentioned, David hit the buy.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: Now they come out of the buy, playing at home.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's the NFL looking out for what had been for the preceding two or three years wrong, a basement dwelling franchise.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and again, David, thank you for coming in and yeah, I mean, again, the Patriots have been helped out with, you know, they're easy strength of schedule and not to take anything away from, you know, what they've done this year, Chad, I mean,
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: So again, it's been they've been playing very well and you can only beat who's in front of you, but they just have yet to be challenged.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: As you mentioned, that bill's game early in the season was a good win for them.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see how that goes again tomorrow.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: At home for them, but I just think in the playoffs, let's say Chad that New England has to go against.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say, you know, they have to end up being a number two seed, while a car around, they have to go against the Houston Texans.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's going to be a good match up because the Houston Texans defense is solid.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like they're just worldly.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I do think, you know, the Houston Texas and definitely win that game.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_00]: So again, it's all about, you know, matchups, you know, who you play, win, but again, they've been playing very well this season, but they just have yet to be tested in my opinion, where the Broncos have, the Broncos have played.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_00]: The number one offense at the time in Dallas and number one defense in Houston.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_00]: The Eagles, the Chiefs.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: So they have a little bit better of a resume when it comes to the wins over in New England.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_01]: excellent point and look to me I know there's a reason why teams covet the one seed right they get home field advantage throughout that's the most important thing it's not so much that they get the buy it's that they get home field every game that's that's what they really covet but the reason I have mixed feelings about it is and then we're gonna grab this dear member sonny's uh question here but the reason I have mixed feelings about the importance of the one seed is
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: There are arguments for and against I will allow, but some of the Broncos, most devastating playoff losses of the 21st century, have come after getting the buy.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I think back, for example, to the 2005 Broncos who should have been in the Super Bowl and if they make that Super Bowl against the Seahawks, they win it, like they're going all the way.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_01]: But Jake Plummer in the AFC Championship game in Denver, who I love, you guys know my
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: turns in arguably his worst game as a pro.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: They lose, now granted, they had high seating, but I can't remember exactly if they had a buy now that I think about it.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_01]: So that might not have been the greatest example.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: However, actually, yeah, they had the wild card buy.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we come back, because that was the title game.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: We go wrong to 2012, number one seed.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: First round buy, they come out flat, get Shalak.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's shocked, I should say, by the ravens.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: Then the next year, hey, they go all the way to the Super Bowl, so that kind of offsets 2012 in terms of the first round by thing.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: Then the next year, right 2014, they get the buy, divisional round, Andrew Luck comes in and he's going to be the new Fangle Joe Flacco and send Peyton Manning home one and done in the playoffs.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: And then of course, that was offset the next year by the Super Bowl 50 team.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: So there's there's arguments for and against
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: that you stay in it.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have any breaks like you stay in whatever zone you're in going into the playoffs.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_01]: I prefer that then taking the breaks off and getting the buy.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see, but I do know the one thing I won't ever argue Ron, home-filled advantage is important.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and that's, I do see that side, Chad.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't totally disagree with you.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but you, I think for me, I liked the buy because, you know, you want to make sure everyone's rested.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_00]: Now I get the argument, you know, some people may have too much rest and I'd be Russ coming into the division around, but just solidifying making sure that all teams that are remaining.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_00]: have to go through Denver because and you skip a game, you know, that's that's another thing like you you're two games if you when you're two games you're essentially in the Super Bowl.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_00]: So just missing that one game and wild card because again, you don't know who that match up is going to be.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_00]: Again, it could be a Houston Texas and you know, I I don't know if I would want that.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: on a wild card weekend.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I know it's in Denver and we beaten them early in the season, but I think the way they're playing now, I wouldn't want them to come to Denver, you know, face them in the wild card round.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: which by the way, you know, all the Broncos haven't beaten anybody.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: They beat both Super Bowl teams.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: They beat the Texans.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: That Texans win sure looking a lot more clutch than it did even at the time, right?
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: And just as a reminder, the Broncos did have JK Dobbins in that game.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: He had a solid game, not a great game, but a solid game.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: Bonyx 173 yards passing two touchdowns a pick.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: RJ had a reception touchdown, Sutton had a touchdown, and the Broncos did benefit in that game, not that they tried to, but they did benefit in my opinion wrong by CJ Stroud going down with the concussion.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: Mills actually played very, very well, and he would go on to
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: keep them in the game like literally like after this game stay in the playoff race like he deserves a lot of credit for for doing the heavy lifting while stroud was out but he hadn't had all week to practice with the ones you know there's that
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: kind of withdrawal factor that happens when the starter goes down, especially a quarterback and the new guy comes in.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: So the Broncos did benefit from that.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: What I'm getting at is it wasn't a perfect apples to apples when because Stroud didn't play the entire game, but I would say honestly, Mills played better in relief of Stroud than Stroud was playing before he got hurt.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: That's my objective take on it for what it's worth, but that win, Ron.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: Sure, looking a lot more impressive and solid sitting here going into week 15, then people were giving the Broncos credit for back in week nine for what it's worth.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, now, sunny, are we chiefs fans tomorrow?
- 24:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we're not chiefs fans.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: But yes, you want the chiefs to win because they are, of course, playing the chargers.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_01]: So that's in Kansas City, go chiefs for obvious reasons there.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: You want the bills to beat the patriots.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: You want the ravens to beat the bangles, only because again, you want the ravens to have something to play for when they face the patriots the next week.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_01]: Cardinals at Texans, pretty obvious.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: you want the cardinals to beat the Texans if possible and just hopefully Ron pushed them further and further down, jets at Jaguars of same reasons above you want the jets to win.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably not going to happen, but talk about unconvincing plus 500 teams, Jaguars, anybody.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: And then Dolphin Steelers,
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, you want the dolphins to win not so much because you're all that afraid of the Steelers, but you want them to have something to play for against the Patriots in the finale.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_01]: So there you have it in terms of your rooting interest tomorrow appreciate you sunny now fills jumping in here on he says, good evening, Chad and Ron keep in my fingers crossed that we have a running game tomorrow.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: And we put love on the ground.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_01]: So Ron, I want to know how you feel about the run game tomorrow, knowing that this packers defense, they rank ninth against the run, relinquishing 101.4 yards per game.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I've been filled.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for coming in.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: I do feel good about the run game tomorrow, Phil.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I don't think it's going to be,
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe many as yards are carry as they did last week, but I do think they still need to stay committed to it.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_00]: Again, Archie Harvey did run the ball very well last week and I do expect for him to, you know, have a good day.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: Again, maybe not breaking up some of those big runs, but again, I do think you can maybe see
- 26:51[SPEAKER_00]: for, you know, four, there are to carry, you know, just keep it steady to kind of calm down that past rush and make sure you keep my comparisons at bay.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_00]: So I do think that that's definitely an important factor here.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, Phil, I mentioned it, I'm not sure you caught it at the top, but yeah, that last portion of just putting love on the ground.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's where, you know, VJ has to get very exotic with some of the blitzes, some of the simulated pressures.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: And get him to the ground because, again, when he has time in the pocket against man coverage, he will just dice a defense up.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that is crucial.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: Well said, my brother shoutouts.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you again, Phil, it's great to see you.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: A dear member, Pro 16 saying, it's 65 degrees at kickoff.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: Should be a wonderful game.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_01]: Plus, we are honoring Philip Lindsey in the second quarter.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: No, wait, we lose.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, perfect.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: Winter football weather like it doesn't get better weather in mid December than that in the mile high city.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's the show shout out to Mark Kennedy on Facebook and to see you pal.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: And then in Oz,
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: checking in from literally the future.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: It is tomorrow in Australia.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see you Chris Parr.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for the super traffic dog.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: He says, Ron, he wants to know what will it take for the Broncos to get even a small amount of respect from the media.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: And it's funny.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: You asked this question, Chris, because I was talking about this today with the members on Broncos book club.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't have a book to go through.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: So I mostly just like we just talked football, like what's
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: and anyhow, what will it take, kind of the same Ron in my opinion as the 2015 Broncos.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: If you guys think back, you know, they
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, everybody was off the paint manning train.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: He missed a lot of games because he was injured.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: When he was on the field, he just didn't look the same.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: It was clear, he was close to being done.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of the games they won had a similar complexion as the ones this season in that they weren't just beating the living, you know what, out of guys.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_01]: They were fighting hard down to the wire type of games.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: And then they had a great defense, very similar to this season.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_01]: No one really got on the horse, Ron,
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: until L.A. went, this one's for pat.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, they had to literally go the whole distance for the NFL at large as a media entity, zeitgeist, whatever you want to call it, to give them their just reward and say, you know what, holy smokes.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: The Bronco just went, the Broncos just went the distance, beat a teen that was heavily favored in the Super Bowl, Peyton Manning, like playing with one half of his body basically tied behind his back as he had just
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: He had just, what's a good way to put it, Ron, old man, father, time, took his toll, whatever.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: It was clear, though.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: He was not the same guy from even a season before, but until they went like this and hoisted it and the clock hit zero, zero Broncos win, then out of the woodwork, come everybody going, oh, look at everything they built, John L. way, Ron.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: Faces and Peyton Manning faces embarrassment and Super Bowl 48 rebuilds the roster for us defensive oriented things brings in Gary Kubiak and he gets to retire as a champion just like his boss John L. way did.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: We weren't here in that kind of thing before they won the Super Bowl and it's probably going to be the same this year that you won't see it if and until and unless they win it all.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to get their respect when Bowenigs win Super Bowl MPP.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_00]: That about sums it up here, Chris, because you know, I don't know what else is going to take.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, again, you know, this long winning streak at home.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they're beating teams.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: You mentioned the chat.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_00]: They're beating teams closely all season.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, they're vying for their number one seed.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know what else the Broncos can do.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I know a lot of the hate disrespect is more so on the Bowenix front.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_00]: and until he kind of, you know, makes his way through the playoffs and gets to the Super Bowl and balls out in that Super Bowl and winning that, the Broncals are still going to have the same amount of respect as they do now.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: Let him hate Chris, let him hate, it just wouldn't feel like Bronco land, unless the perception was that the whole world's out to get you, you know, like I think the Broncos operate better in this sleeper kind of under the radar disrespect mode.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's a whole different thing entirely when you become like the favorite.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: You guys can remember like with Peyton Manning.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of pressure when you're just assumed to win every single game for the most part, and eventually that pressure can get to teams.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_01]: As we saw again, as I mentioned earlier, 2012 playoffs, 2014 playoffs, and of course Super Bowl 48.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, thank you Chris.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_01]: We got Shannon Mills jumping back in again with another gentleman.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you got you, you, you, you rule.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Shannon.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: He says, uh, I think that getting the buy with Peyton as a coach would be very different.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: I think they would be prepared after the buy.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_01]: You could have a point.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Gary Kubiex Broncos got the buy and that first game, if you guys can recall, Ron back in the 2015 season, that first playoff game against the Steelers, it was pretty touching go until Bradley Robe punched that ball out.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: The Steelers were about to score and it was going to get real hairy.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: And then everything kind of went our way, but Shannon might have a point here.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: Peyton does well, come out of the buy.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's talked a lot about how he picked Andy Reid's brain years ago when he was with the Saints about the buy.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: And has put it to good use over the years.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: I would say, Ron, for what it's worth.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what was the buy?
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: Week 12 this season.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_01]: So did they look?
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: Week 13 like a team that was well rested and got everything they needed.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: Not really, that Washington game was pretty leaky.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Bownex played really well.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_01]: The offense did some
- 33:07[SPEAKER_01]: They played much better than, say, even this Kansas City game or the previous Raiders game, but the defense hasn't even quite looked the same to be honest with Iran's sense before the buy.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's every game after the buy that defense in its own ways looked a little bit leaky, which makes me a little uncomfortable.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: But your thoughts here that with Peyton as the coach, the buy is more of an advantage.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and Shannon, thank you again for coming in.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I agree
- 33:36[SPEAKER_00]: Peyton, Cleena Coach, and the fact that it's at home.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Broncos gonna be very well equipped and prepared going into whoever's coming to town.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_00]: I just think Chad's his team is just, they're ready.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think I don't think the moment's gonna be too big for them.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Patence definitely going to get them ready, you know, how to talk with them, just to make sure that there are, you know, very on their piece and cues to get things going on offense and defense because again, depending on your opponent, you just can't come out slow.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_00]: And you saw that with the Washington game, as you mentioned.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_00]: Again, on offense, it was it was good, but man on defense run defense in particular was it was it was rough going.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_00]: It was rough going there.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think, you know, given the opponent, Peyton's going to have these guys very prepared to go with that week's rest.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_01]: Shannon, thank you again, big dog.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: Really appreciate you.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: Sonny says, Zach picked the packers.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, in the round table, now remember guys, our job in the round table isn't to try and wish something into existence.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: Our job is to call it like we see it.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then as you get late in the season like this, you know, you're trying to some strategy comes into place.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_01]: So you can get the bragging rights and have the best record on staff at the end, picking Bronco games.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: Right now there's some big ties going on.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I wanna say, let me see here, uh, Zack.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: Was there anyone else that picked the Packers?
- 35:15[SPEAKER_01]: Zach is the only one on the back.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_00]: That's the only one, yeah.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_01]: And here's what he said, I'll just read it to you.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_01]: Cause again, this isn't Zach going.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: I want the Packers to win.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: This is Zach saying here's kind of how I feel.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_01]: Quote, only a few times this season have I genuinely been torn on a prediction.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: This one, this is one of those times.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I've felt this way for weeks now.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos are due for a loss in parentheses, rights.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_01]: You can superstitiously argue it's better to lose right now
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: meaning like before the playoffs one more loss give up the ghost do away with the whole winning streak pressure all that and this green bay team is light years better than Washington or Vegas.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a rock fight he writes and it'll come down to the fourth quarter per usual.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: Neither green bay nor Denver.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: will have anything to hang their hat on or their head for afterward, but for the sake of being a jinx, in other words, what he's saying too is like, hopefully I jinx it serves as a jinx and they win because I'm picking Packers.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: He wants the Broncos to win, in other words, here wrong.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_00]: And again, you know, we we give these predictions yet based on what we seen some of the matchups, how the Broncos and the opponent has been playing over the past several weeks.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, what I'd be surprised if the Packers come out victorious tomorrow?
- 36:35[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_00]: Again, you know, they're they're they're great team.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_00]: They they have
- 36:40[SPEAKER_00]: and elite play collar mat before.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_00]: Jordan Love is playing some of his best ball.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_00]: Now it's gonna be interesting Chad to see Xenno Josh Jacobs is questionable.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_00]: So that may, you know, tip the scales there a bit, to be honest, if you can go or not, I know they've promoted one of the practice words to come up.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because the number two guys sick too.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: There's suddenly, right?
- 37:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, number two's high as sick as well.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's Wilson that he was on the Broncos, I believe.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so yeah, he's sick.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_00]: That's what the illness.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_00]: But it's going to be interesting to see, you know, if he plays or not, you know, how that changes thing, because you know that Josh Jacobs has been the Broncos,
- 37:19[SPEAKER_00]: over the past several years.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, again, yeah.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_00]: So undefeated.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_00]: So it's going to be a good game.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_00]: Going to be a rock fight.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_00]: Again, you know, Zach is, you know, tied up to his prediction.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_00]: But I, you know, I'm on the other end of it.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think Broncos is going to show up and show out tomorrow.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_01]: Wouldn't be shocked with the loss of course, but I'm telling you my gut is like they pick the Broncos at home to be the underdog and it's not a huge it's two and a half points right but so it's not like it's this huge oh my gosh, but I'm telling you Broncos are going to be hopped tomorrow under the call or like they're going to be let's prove some fools wrong here David jumping in again, thank you pal even us waiting tomorrow will not get the respect it won't.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: You might get a little bit of praise and a few people coming out of the word work saying, okay, the Broncos or anything, if they blow them out, but we know that's not going to happen.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: The Packers are too good.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: He also just says David here again.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, pal.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: the media doesn't have a problem with the Broncos.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's bow they have a problem with because they don't want to admit they were wrong.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: I understand what you're trying to say that I would rephrase it and say bow only adds insult to the injury because the Broncos have traditionally always struggled.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: I mean ever since I've been doing this Ron and it's my job to like write about what's going on, share my opinion, and then let alone the podcast stuff, the Broncos have always
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: work slash produced twice as much to get half the respect as the bigger market teams.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_01]: And you know Scott his opinion is look it's because Denver's a smaller market team, you know, Crimea river like Falcons have to deal with it, you know, Colts have to deal with the pick them small market teams and it's no different, but then Ron you add in the Sean Peyton thing.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, you got the bounty gate, a lot of people still hold that against him, big, big time.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: And people,
- 39:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's kind of a jerk to media.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_01]: He comes off that way and, you know, he snaps it reporters and he makes people feel dumb sometimes at the podium, like, oh, that's your question, like, really or, you know, little things like that, a friend of mine, a dear friend who covered him in Dallas when way back, way back when he was a position coach and coordinator with the Cowboys pre saying to go, look,
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: He's a great guy, he's a brilliant coach, but he's really hard to love.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's just hard to love.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_01]: It, you know, so you got that, then Ron, the key, and then I'm gonna serve her back to you here, which is his point, which is a very salient one, the Bonyx Phenomenon.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: You break down your thoughts here for David.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and that's where I wanted to go, David, again, thank you for coming in.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's the Bonyx, you know, you're right, David, and I've been saying this the whole time
- 40:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's also going to be there's always that problem of the Broncos being under dollars because, you know, ever since Super Bowl 50, you know, they haven't really done much.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_00]: You haven't been winning, you know, the quarterback carousels.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_00]: So that's always going to be there.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_00]: But now that they actually have a young quarterback and bull nicks, but I think proud of the problem is with that.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_00]: They thought that he was just going to be this check down merchant, this game manager.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_00]: And you're seeing bull nicks is way more than that.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's what they don't want to be wrong about, which, you know, time and time again, Bow was proving that they're wrong.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_00]: So again, Bow went to the right situation in Denver with Sean Payton.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_00]: And they work well off each other.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_00]: And again, they don't want to admit that they're wrong on their pre draft assessment.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_00]: That's really what it boils down to and again, once they make it known in the playoffs, again, if they go all the way and finish the task, then that's when you'll start to see the respect coming because again, Chad, let's look at, you know, the roster, I mean, this team has set up well and you know, they're going to come off this Russell Wilson money after this season.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_00]: So they've already extended players.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_00]: I know they still have to make a few decisions on a few more pieces, but this has set up well not only for this year, but the next couple years as well.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_00]: So again, let them hate, but Bo was doing a good job in my opinion so far of just proving them wrong.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt and that's part of why the vitriol is still there is like it's not just that he hasn't sucked it's that he's been one of the great young quarterbacks in the NFL now for better part of two seasons when he was supposed to be a third round guy at best right and last quarterback drafted in the first round in the class blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
- 42:19[SPEAKER_01]: on a personal level or a professional level run, who don't just admit when they're wrong.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_01]: People think that by gas lighting, avoiding the subject, et cetera, et cetera, that they're preserving their image, that they're somehow making themselves look better.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_01]: But people can see through that, people perceive it, whether it's in a relationship or something like this in media,
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciation, love, respect, trust from people in any given situation when you just admit when you're wrong.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: You man up so to speak, you fall on the sword, and you say, hey, that was on me, extreme ownership.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: I was wrong, and then people now go, hey, this guy, I can trust him.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: He might not always be right, who is?
- 43:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I do know now that when he's wrong, he's going to say he's wrong or she, et cetera, most people don't get that though.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're, they're prideful.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: They're afraid of their image being shattered for one incorrect take.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's like you'll do.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: You're missing the forest for the trees.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the general media situation at large relative to Bonyx.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: People holding on to those takes for dear life.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: David Young can again, my dog.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, pal.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: Every single quarterback is a
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what they are some are better than others.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, totally do it and this is a subject that was brought up
- 43:45[SPEAKER_01]: earlier this week when Bo was at, was it at the podium Wednesday or post game in Vegas, either way, he was asked this week about, you know, hey, talk about what it means to be a game manager, which I kind of thought was a little bit cheap that it was even asked of him, but you guys have heard me say this before and David, you're echoing my general view on this, which is, what was Tom Brady, what was Peyton Manning, what is Patrick Mahomes, what was John L. A,
- 44:14[SPEAKER_01]: guys who manage the game, these are great managers of the game, like they are getting their guys in and out of the huddle right, and people lined up, balls coming now.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're managing the game, expertly, they're moving the chains, they're putting points on the board, etc.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_01]: So the best quarterbacks in the NFL just so happened to also be the best game managers, but run in our
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: realm of football game manager as a label is more used to describe the Kyle Orton's of the world, the guys who, you know, they come in, they hold down the fort, they give you a plausible chance at competing like John Fox circa 2011.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, coach, why don't you go with Tibo?
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, well, we believe Kyle Orton gives us the best chance to win.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, so they'll maintain that plausible.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, you know, get the job done generally
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: they're not putting anyone on their back, they're not making highlight plays, they're not putting up a lot of points, they're not necessarily run a guy you can point to and go he's the problem, but he's certainly not doing
- 45:19[SPEAKER_01]: What a franchise quarterback would do and that is raise the performance and execution and overall play of everybody around him.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_01]: So those are the two things you look for and I'm going to serve it back to you.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_01]: When it comes to the right quarterback run, he has to be a great game manager.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's like a given.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: They have to be a great game manager.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_01]: But are they a tide that raises all the ships around them?
- 45:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I think through however many games it's been now of 30 games, right?
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: A bone mix, regular season, Denver Broncos, it's pretty clear he is that tide.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what makes a franchise quarterback those two dynamics.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_01]: elite game manager or excellent game manager and raises the ships around boom and it if it doesn't correspond last thing here on to the standings then it's full's gold it's not actually franchise quarterback even if they're a great manager and even if they're putting up a lot of individual points and people are putting up yards and stuff around them if it doesn't correspond to the standings sorry not a franchise guy.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_00]: Perfectly such.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have much to say that.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, let's look at bonus is 22 and nine, 22 and nine record.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know, as far as this class leading it in touchdowns as well, as far as the quarter by class.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_00]: And we call this a, you know, a game manager, but again, it's taken so negatively.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_00]: And it shouldn't be again, the the best of the best Super Bowl winning quarterbacks.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_00]: have been game managers, but I will say this to add on to what you said two things.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's first and Brady was the best at this, understanding what type of game we're playing.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what Bowenix has done.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_00]: Now last year we know there was not the presence of a run game.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of last year fell on Bowenix's arm.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_00]: This year, you're seeing the run game kind of come on and Bowenix kind of supporting it with the run game.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_00]: So again, taking what type of game it is and kind of playing to the strength of kind of what's going on from a game plan perspective.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_00]: You're seeing that with Nix.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_00]: The second thing is also taking what the defense gives you and that's what Bowenix has done too.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_00]: So again, I think it goes back to,
- 47:37[SPEAKER_00]: You know, trying to align their pre-draft assessment with some of the things that they're seeing on the film.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_00]: And again, every quarterback throws behind the sticks.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they they mentioned that a lot when it comes to bull nicks, you know, quarterback throws behind the sticks.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_00]: Short passes screen.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not just a bull nicks thing.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's it's a league wide thing.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_00]: But they want to mirror what they saw at Auburn and Oregon to now to just solidify what their stance is when that's not the case.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_00]: And they're not watching the film and it's entire to see how Bull nicks has evolved.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_00]: So I do think Bull nicks has really come into his own with, you know, understanding letting the game come to him, letting it develop, letting place to develop, and also with the support of the right game using his athleticism to make please.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, dude.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_01]: And well said, yeah, and Black's Troy Ackman, one of the greatest gay managers that ever walked the planet Earth.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I mean, look, they say that wins some people say that wins are not a quarterback stat.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_01]: If that's the case, why does the primary source of individual player and team stats on the internet profile reference, K, P, F, R?
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: Why when it shows doesn't do it on any other position, but when it shows a quarterback stats, also shows their record as a starter that year, Sean Peyton.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_01]: his job to win, you know.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_01]: So even in the games like the Vegas first Vegas game in Denver, where Bo played very poorly.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_01]: but still did just enough to win, Sean Peyton, he doesn't wanna hear it from the press questions about Bo because he did his job.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_01]: We won the game, like he did what he's supposed to do.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: And so we cannot sleep on that.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_01]: This is why, you know, there are arguments about Tim Teebo, was he really, did he, could he have been a franchise guy?
- 49:40[SPEAKER_01]: Did we give up too soon, blah, blah, blah?
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: John L. way, you know.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_01]: At the time, I thought, well, hey, I'm not to turn this Ron into a T-BO conversation.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_01]: So I won't dwell on this, but at the time, it was like, well, John always a friend, you know, he's a Hall of Famer.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_01]: He's one super bulls.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_01]: If he's saying we're better off going a different direction, let alone it be in Peyton Manning.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, okay, Peyton Manning, L.A. has said this by the way.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: He was about the only out the Broncos had when it came to moving on from T-BO Mania.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like name another quarterback or quarterback situation,
- 50:14[SPEAKER_01]: that would have given them plausible deniability with the fan base on Tim Teebo.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_01]: But my point here on Teebo, he won the games.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: So, Bonyx, dude, it's like DJ Khaled.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_01]: All I do is win no matter what and that's what we're seeing and that's one of the marks that of a franchise guy at two here on that has me so stoked for the future is Where the Broncos went one in six in these close games last year you mentioned the lack of a running game
- 50:46[SPEAKER_01]: which is so ironic because look at the season, Javante's having for the Cowboys and all that stuff, right?
- 50:51[SPEAKER_01]: So you go, why?
- 50:52[SPEAKER_01]: But nevertheless, he did a lot of the heavy lifting himself last year on offense, Bonyx, and still in those close games, the team as a collective, they just didn't quite have enough time on tasks together and experience in these big, stake situations to come out on top.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_01]: But each one of those setbacks they suffered in the one score games.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_01]: They learned a little something from now.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: Take from that one learn from this one pool.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_01]: So by the time you fast forward to this season and I mean, the first game that technically ended up run as a one score win over the Titans, then they lose back to back one score games and you're going, man, they just can't get over this one score thing and then it all came together and it keep finding ways because what's the difference.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to I'm going to screw this up.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_01]: What's the difference between IQ and.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, in other words, whiz them, right, whiz them, there's a difference between Ron being smart and being wise.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_01]: And it's experienced.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_01]: I guess that's the best way to put it.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_01]: And truly a smart people.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_01]: learn from their failures.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_01]: And that's where wisdom comes into play.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_01]: So we have from the top rope checking in D-Dub in the house from paradise with a top rope super check.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much my brother.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: Much love and respect to you.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_01]: I should I should be doing one of these for you.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_01]: Big dog.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Chad Ron and MHH crew.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: Things I love to hear about Bo.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_01]: come from the locker room, work ethic, competitiveness, dedication, smarts, he has the make-up of a great.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_01]: Would not be surprised to see Bo take less money, Alaw, Elway, and Brady in order to help those around him.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_01]: And even Peyton did it to an extent in 2015.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_01]: He took about 25% of his contract.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_01]: They wanted him to convert it into roster bonuses and different bonus to where he could get it all back if they win the Super Bowl.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_01]: And he got it all back.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_01]: So good as to Peyton, but excellent points here, D. Dub, Ron, your thoughts for Dale.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, thank you, Dale again for coming in with such a generous, super chat, much appreciate it, my dude.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, I agreed Dale every time you hear players and their interviews, professors, you know, they bring up these qualities when it comes to bow and you got to love it.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_00]: You want to see that from your potential franchise quarterback.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and again, you know, just hearing both himself, just how he's, you know, very diligent, dedicated to the game.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_00]: Um, doesn't like to lose either.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_00]: Um, it's just, it's so good to hear.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_00]: Um, like you saw clips of when RJ Harvey got his first touchdown gave the ball to him when Pat Brian got his first touchdown.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_00]: I believe it was in that Cowboys game gave the ball to him.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_00]: You know, to your last point, yeah, I would not, I would not be surprised either, you know, when he's, you know, do or trying to have, you know, player stay on, um, to kind of help those around them and maybe, you know, continue the success of the team, maybe take a little bit less, um, but yeah, these are great points to your deal.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you again for coming in.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_01]: And fortunately, do you know, we got a few years till this becomes a question, you know,
- 54:19[SPEAKER_01]: But, yeah, I mean, if Bonyx continues on the course he's on in the Broncos, continue to be one of these set and forget double digit wind teams, my dude's going to be getting one of those half a billion dollar contracts type thing.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's in the cars, it's in the future and God bless them.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's got to kid on the way, stoked for the next family and stoked for Broncos
- 54:48[SPEAKER_01]: for how many years, nine, eight years, eight years, I guess it was.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_01]: So, thank you, brother, for your wisdom and insights.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, your support every time, brother, really appreciate you, have you?
- 55:00[SPEAKER_01]: All right, oh, the old man.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_01]: We got the, the old man in the house, pop.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_01]: What's up with it?
- 55:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know about it.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he says, still worried about Riley Moss, the old man.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, so that's a, that's a hot, but miss you, dad.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's a hot, but miss you.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_01]: And my partner is that kelverman on the MHH pod.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_01]: He says that once take on Riley Moss is a,
- 55:30[SPEAKER_01]: measure of ones football IQ.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's a litmus test for football IQ.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's been, you know, tongue-in-cheek when he says that, but it is Ron a very controversial subject because he has, if not, I think the second, he might now be in the third most because he didn't have a penalty last week.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 55:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's still the highest most penalties for defense of player in the NFL individually, Riley Moss this year, most of which are obviously PIs, but he has a defensive holding, he has an illegal contact that wiped a pic six off the board.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_01]: And yet, he's still, Ron, yes, he's given up some tuddies this season, including last week.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_01]: Back to back games, in fact, he gave up touchdowns, Washington to that insane catch by Berks, and then last week in the final closing minutes that garbage time score.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_01]: And you go, ah, the penalties, he's the big play, but then you look at his actual metrics, pops, and you say, wait a minute, he's the most targeted corner back in the NFL.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_01]: and yet he gives up the lowest catch rate percentage.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_01]: So he does a lot right.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos have a true stud number two corner if they can get him to stop with the penalties and stop panicking at the catch point.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm high on Moss.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_01]: Do I worry about him?
- 56:48[SPEAKER_01]: Sure, I'm with you there, Dad.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_01]: I worry about Riley Moss.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_01]: On any time that ball wrong goes vertical and I see it's 21 training and coverage.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like like all of you.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_01]: I hold my breath.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_01]: But what are your thoughts for the old man.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, father, Jonathan, it's still a bit of a concern with Moss.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_00]: I know he's been in there trying to clean up the technique.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_00]: You know what the gloves, as you mentioned, but yeah, if the technique gets cleaned up Chad.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think he could even be better because again, he's not playing poorly at all.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's just some of those crucial moments when he doesn't, you know, turn around and look for the ball and he gets a little grabby, you know, and it's like, you know, you kind of have to clean up that's the technique there, my guy.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I will say this week is definitely going to be a challenge with these Green Bay receivers.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_00]: We know PS2 can hold us on, maybe a mix of Christian Watson and
- 57:47[SPEAKER_00]: You know, moss covering maybe a don'tavian wicks, um, and I know even with Luke Musgrave, matchups at times could it could be a challenge.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so he's definitely going to get tested.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_00]: They're definitely going to test them, but, um, I just hope he can, again, clean up, clean up that technique.
- 58:06[SPEAKER_00]: Just needs to clean up that technique.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's the, that's the quintessential Riley sit.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's the perfect picture.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_01]: The balls closing in, at least in this instance, Ronnie's got his head turned around.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_01]: But look at that, man.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's why he's like, I'm going to put on boxing gloves in practice because then I can't grab.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's, you know, it sounds a little ham-fisted, but it's actually a pretty smart way to work some of that out of his game.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_01]: So David, good to see you tonight, buddy.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for your support, all those supers.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_01]: you are a prince we we love you and appreciate you big dog.
