- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Okay, here we go.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Where the plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Dude, they said I gotta come off the bench.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hour 2 of Off the Bench, live from the Raising
- 0:12Speaker 1: Cane Studio.
- 0:14Speaker 2: The river's.
- 0:17Speaker 3: All wet. All right, welcome back in.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Hour number two of OTB here live from the Raising
- 0:54Speaker 4: Change studio.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Raising Kane sounds good. Had it last night. Did you?
- 1:06Speaker 5: I've been craving it, but I wait for my cheat day.
- 1:09Speaker 4: That's kind of what we did. We were like, hey,
- 1:13Speaker 4: this weekend's going to be kind of crazy. You're going
- 1:15Speaker 4: to have to get back on the wagon. But if
- 1:17Speaker 4: we're going to go big boy, we're going to raise Kane.
- 1:21Speaker 2: And we did. You got two Kane-iacs?
- 1:23Speaker 4: No. So me, Katie, and Harlow, we share the four-piece.
- 1:27Speaker 4: I got to reshare it. And then the boys, like,
- 1:30Speaker 4: they go ham on the four-piece.
- 1:31Speaker 2: For sure. You know, like, they're. They're not at Caniacs yet? Oh,
- 1:34Speaker 2: Jackson could delete the Caniac.
- 1:36Speaker 5: I was going to say, I feel like Jackson is
- 1:37Speaker 5: probably a Caniac.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Yeah, but look, hey, like, you know, we don't. Do
- 1:41Speaker 4: we need, like, sometimes, you know, during football season?
- 1:44Speaker 2: So. I mean, yeah, you got both.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Look, he smacked down four of them. It's fine. I mean,
- 1:49Speaker 4: even Memphis. Like, Memphis doesn't need anything. But that man
- 1:51Speaker 4: will smack down. a four-finger combo.
- 1:55Speaker 5: I've been wanting some Cane's with that honey mustard.
- 1:57Speaker 6: Is chicken tender slash nuggets? That's like the ultimate food
- 2:02Speaker 6: for kids, right?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Kids, kids, yeah.
- 2:05Speaker 5: Yeah, only kids.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Or maybe goats.
- 2:07Speaker 7: No, I just mean like even a picky kid's going
- 2:09Speaker 7: to eat chicken.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, it is. You're right. I mean, everybody.
- 2:15Speaker 8: I don't know anybody that doesn't like it. I had
- 2:18Speaker 8: to tell my kids no to Cane's yesterday.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Wow. I did. I told them no.
- 2:23Speaker 5: I keep having to tell myself.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Because we had it the day before.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:28Speaker 9: Do y'all put Louisiana hot sauce in the cane sauce.
- 2:32Speaker 4: And mix it around? Yeah, because I get the packets
- 2:34Speaker 4: from cane.
- 2:35Speaker 5: Yeah. And then I just mix it around.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Yeah. I do not.
- 2:42Speaker 5: I just put you on game.
- 2:43Speaker 2: That sounds great. I actually like to put.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Me too.
- 2:46Speaker 2: I know, but you've bought fully in, you know. I
- 2:48Speaker 2: like to put hot sauce in my ketchup.
- 2:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I like that too.
- 2:51Speaker 2: I like that too.
- 2:52Speaker 10: Mm-hmm.
- 2:53Speaker 2: So, I mean, come at me, bro.
- 2:56Speaker 5: Try it in the cane sauce next time.
- 2:57Speaker 2: I mean, they make cane sauce for a reason. It's
- 2:59Speaker 2: a recipe. I'm not going to change the recipe.
- 3:01Speaker 5: But it just adds a little something.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Matt's like, who am I to change it? Who am I?
- 3:06Speaker 2: You know, Mr. Todd did a good job with that sauce. Mr.
- 3:10Speaker 9: Todd.
- 3:10Speaker 5: Just a little enhance.
- 3:13Speaker 8: What do you think about that, Lady Kane?
- 3:17Speaker 5: She's like, as long as you're buying it.
- 3:19Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Let that look off your face.
- 3:24Speaker 7: Wait, I thought you loved Lady Kane. Now y'all got beef?
- 3:26Speaker 2: We got beef.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Big time. Because every time she co-hosts, I mean, she
- 3:30Speaker 2: doesn't say anything. She's out here running around. Get it. Anyways.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Chef's canes. Shout out.
- 3:43Speaker 4: I think that's the moral of the entire three minutes there.
- 3:48Speaker 4: And I do get slaw. And I make a little
- 3:50Speaker 4: sandwich out of it.
- 3:51Speaker 9: Oh.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 3:53Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Make a little sandwich out of it. You go down
- 3:55Speaker 4: the middle, fries, chicken, cane sauce, slaw.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Anyways, we did talk about.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Sam Levitt and the doubtful and all that stuff, and,
- 4:08Speaker 4: you know, we mentioned that. Sometimes guys get vet days
- 4:12Speaker 4: as well, if you're dealing with something and, you know,
- 4:15Speaker 4: reports are that he did and.
- 4:18Speaker 2: We might have known that and.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Him getting treatment and reevaluating later today is is important
- 4:25Speaker 4: i think today is thursday um thursday is a fast
- 4:29Speaker 4: practice thursday is a two minute a end of the
- 4:34Speaker 4: game situation big third down day so today is the
- 4:40Speaker 4: day to pay attention to if he practices like yesterday
- 4:44Speaker 4: if you're going to get an off day certainly for
- 4:45Speaker 4: a quarterback and matt if you disagree please jump in
- 4:47Speaker 4: here and If you're going to get an off day,
- 4:50Speaker 4: the off day is going to be on the first
- 4:52Speaker 4: day of the week. The Wednesday practice. Now, Tuesday is
- 4:58Speaker 4: going to be a get-after practice, but Wednesday you're really
- 5:00Speaker 4: going to short yardage and you're going to hone in
- 5:03Speaker 4: on some red area stuff in the run game as well.
- 5:06Speaker 4: You're going to have a big inside run practice. And
- 5:09Speaker 4: you'll do some other stuff. You'll do third down. You'll
- 5:11Speaker 4: do blitz and all that stuff. But I'm saying Thursday
- 5:14Speaker 4: is fast. Everywhere I've ever been. Thursday was a big
- 5:17Speaker 4: attention to detail in the passing game day and protection day. So, like,
- 5:21Speaker 4: for me, today would be that day that you're watching
- 5:24Speaker 4: to see. And I know TJ was held out as well. And, again,
- 5:27Speaker 4: this could be precautionary. What day were they held.
- 5:31Speaker 10: Out?
- 5:32Speaker 2: Tuesday. Wednesday.
- 5:38Speaker 8: I'm trying to go back because I've got to go
- 5:40Speaker 8: a day before all the NFL schedule.
- 5:42Speaker 10: I know.
- 5:44Speaker 4: Literally, the mental gymnastics that my brain was trying to do.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I mean, Thursday's a fast day. In college, it is, though.
- 5:50Speaker 4: You typically go shells.
- 5:52Speaker 2: But, yeah, you never go full pads.
- 5:53Speaker 8: You go shells, and it's fast. I mean, you're 48
- 5:56Speaker 8: hours until a game, so you don't hit a lot. No,
- 5:58Speaker 8: it's a fast game. You run around. It's a shorter practice.
- 6:03Speaker 8: It's a review of the last two days. So, basically,
- 6:06Speaker 8: you're just kind of buttoning. You're reviewing things. You messed up.
- 6:09Speaker 8: It's a longer walkthrough than normal. Because you are reviewing
- 6:12Speaker 8: things that you might have messed up in practice. Because
- 6:15Speaker 8: Tuesday for college would be, to me, it would be
- 6:20Speaker 8: the day to miss.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Wednesday is a big install day.
- 6:24Speaker 8: Like, Tuesday, you're, as a coach, is the first practice
- 6:29Speaker 8: of the week. Because Monday is the off day. So, Tuesday,
- 6:31Speaker 8: you're coming back. And it's the introductory period to a new,
- 6:35Speaker 8: you get your scouting report. You get your day, like
- 6:39Speaker 8: your break. normal down and distance install. So it's kind of,
- 6:43Speaker 8: you know, there's, there's, there's some new wrinkles in there,
- 6:45Speaker 8: but it's nothing crazy. The new wrinkles really start coming
- 6:49Speaker 8: in on the next day when you're doing more red
- 6:51Speaker 8: zone install third down package. And then we're going to
- 6:54Speaker 8: go out and run it on a Wednesday. So to me,
- 6:57Speaker 8: Tuesday would be the day to miss. And then Thursday
- 6:59Speaker 8: is just a review of the first two days and
- 7:02Speaker 8: going over, walking through, all the mistakes that were made,
- 7:06Speaker 8: then you'll do like a good on good. You'll get
- 7:07Speaker 8: like a two-minute drive against ones on ones just to
- 7:10Speaker 8: get the speed up.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Let me ask you this, and I don't know the answer.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Wednesday wouldn't be the day to miss.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Because y'all wouldn't let me throw a pass, even though
- 7:16Speaker 4: I could. So I've never done that before, play quarterback.
- 7:20Speaker 4: I'm not saying that any day is a good day
- 7:21Speaker 4: to miss, but I'm saying I think Thursday, from a
- 7:24Speaker 4: quarterback's perspective, I would think that would be the day
- 7:27Speaker 4: that you had to kind of be out there. Because
- 7:30Speaker 4: I always felt like on Thursdays, that's when y'all did everything,
- 7:33Speaker 4: like your final, okay, this is how we're going to
- 7:35Speaker 4: do it protection-wise. This is the route combinations like in
- 7:38Speaker 4: the red area. This is the third down situations that
- 7:40Speaker 4: I like. This is the two-minute plays that I like.
- 7:43Speaker 4: So I always felt like Thursday for y'all was a
- 7:45Speaker 4: bigger day, where Tuesday and Wednesday were a bigger day
- 7:47Speaker 4: for me as a running back. I'm not saying you
- 7:51Speaker 4: want to miss any days. I'm not saying like, oh, yeah,
- 7:54Speaker 4: it's fine, you miss a day. But I'm saying if
- 7:56Speaker 4: you don't practice today, though, How big of a red
- 8:00Speaker 4: flag is that for you?
- 8:00Speaker 8: I mean, I don't know if Sam has earned the
- 8:02Speaker 8: right just yet to not practice but play.
- 8:05Speaker 4: I don't think he's swiping a vet card. I think
- 8:07Speaker 4: he's dealing with something.
- 8:08Speaker 2: No, that's what I'm saying.
- 8:12Speaker 8: Especially at this level, if you don't practice, it's hard
- 8:17Speaker 8: to go play.
- 8:18Speaker 2: And he's only played two games. So if he doesn't practice,
- 8:22Speaker 2: do you play him? I don't know. If you've got
- 8:25Speaker 2: another guy taking all the reps, has he earned that?
- 8:29Speaker 2: You tell me. You're the quarterback.
- 8:31Speaker 8: I was a backup to Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees,
- 8:34Speaker 8: and I took 100% of the snaps in practice for
- 8:37Speaker 8: multiple weeks in both of those offenses. Of course they're
- 8:41Speaker 8: going to play if they can play. But Aaron Rodgers
- 8:43Speaker 8: and Drew Brees, like Sam Leavitt, he's played two games.
- 8:46Speaker 8: Has he earned that trust and right to not practice
- 8:49Speaker 8: any but still play in the game without taking any
- 8:52Speaker 8: reps in practice?
- 8:54Speaker 2: I don't think so. I mean, maybe. But I don't
- 8:59Speaker 2: think so.
- 9:00Speaker 4: That's why I say, like, if he missed practice, he's
- 9:02Speaker 4: dealing with something.
- 9:03Speaker 2: If he missed practice, is that the reports? Yeah. Just
- 9:09Speaker 2: confirming that we don't ever want to be the first.
- 9:12Speaker 2: There's a vet swipe for sure. But Ole Miss, week three. Exactly.
- 9:19Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. It can't be a vet swipe.
- 9:22Speaker 8: Right.
- 9:22Speaker 2: That comes later in the year. And vet swipes come
- 9:24Speaker 2: on Mondays. It wouldn't just be soreness.
- 9:27Speaker 9: No.
- 9:28Speaker 2: If he missed practice.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Yeah, and so you're going to reevaluate that today.
- 9:31Speaker 2: And T.J.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Daugherty was held out for, you know.
- 9:33Speaker 8: But if you practice this today, you play.
- 9:36Speaker 2: For sure.
- 9:37Speaker 10: Yes.
- 9:38Speaker 8: But if you had to pick a day of Tuesday, Wednesday,
- 9:41Speaker 8: Thursday to miss, I would 100% miss Tuesday. When you're
- 9:45Speaker 8: just installing first down, normal down. Yeah, see, for me,
- 9:48Speaker 8: that was a big, big day. Because, like, inside run
- 9:51Speaker 8: on a Tuesday.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Third down is a passer. Third down is a passer.
- 9:55Speaker 4: And I don't know the situation on a Tuesday. We
- 9:59Speaker 4: just know now what it was on a Wednesday for
- 10:01Speaker 4: Sam and for TJ.
- 10:01Speaker 8: If there's anything, there's not, like, a whole bunch of, like, brand-new,
- 10:04Speaker 8: just regular drop-back passes on normal down-to-distance that you install week-to-week.
- 10:09Speaker 8: Now it's going to be different play-action passes. You can
- 10:13Speaker 8: learn a running game, obviously. That second day of the
- 10:17Speaker 8: week is when you install, usually, for most of the
- 10:19Speaker 8: teams I was on, or all of them, you install
- 10:23Speaker 8: third down, all the third down, down in distances, third short,
- 10:26Speaker 8: third immediate, third long, third really long, all the special plays.
- 10:30Speaker 8: Red zone is when you install on that second day.
- 10:33Speaker 8: So that's a tough day to miss as a quarterback.
- 10:35Speaker 4: No, I am 1,000%, as we learned last night, as
- 10:39Speaker 4: a thing.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I would normally say 100%.
- 10:40Speaker 4: 1,010%?
- 10:40Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 10:44Speaker 4: I'm with you.
- 10:45Speaker 2: I am right there with you.
- 10:47Speaker 4: But I do think that it's more telling about today
- 10:52Speaker 4: just because that's kind of– no, it's not kind of.
- 10:55Speaker 4: Mine is the kind of. It's the final dress rehearsal
- 10:57Speaker 4: because tomorrow, you know what they do? They go out
- 11:01Speaker 4: there in T-shirts and shorts and have a true walkthrough.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Then they get on a plane. Then we fly to Mississippi,
- 11:08Speaker 4: and then you don't put a helmet again until you
- 11:11Speaker 4: get in the pregame. So this is the last dress
- 11:15Speaker 4: rehearsal they have. It's going to be today. So that's
- 11:19Speaker 4: what you pay attention to. That's what you're looking for.
- 11:21Speaker 4: If they don't go today, then the situation is really real.
- 11:28Speaker 2: I mean, it, the fact that they, that goes back
- 11:30Speaker 2: to my question. That goes back to my question.
- 11:32Speaker 8: If you don't like, I know with you at linebacker,
- 11:35Speaker 8: if you don't practice today, you can still go play
- 11:37Speaker 8: the game.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:38Speaker 8: At quarterback again, which a gap are the first, first,
- 11:44Speaker 8: You're in an offense. Game three, if you don't practice,
- 11:48Speaker 8: I find it hard. I have a hard time believing
- 11:51Speaker 8: that he's going to play if he doesn't practice all week.
- 11:53Speaker 8: But if he practices a day, who cares?
- 11:56Speaker 2: It's fine.
- 11:58Speaker 8: We'll beat Ole Miss by 30 instead of 40.
- 12:03Speaker 4: Darius said, Lane said they practice in full pads on Fridays.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Nobody practices in full pads on Fridays.
- 12:08Speaker 2: No, that's not a thing.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Nope.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Maybe if they play, like, on Sunday.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 12:13Speaker 9: Maybe.
- 12:14Speaker 2: But still doubtful. Yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 8: That's going to be a Monday night game. Does the
- 12:19Speaker 8: NFL do full practice? Are you saying Lane went truthful?
- 12:22Speaker 4: On Fridays, Friday is fast Friday. You go, some coaches
- 12:28Speaker 4: will do shales, some. A lot of coaches go spider
- 12:31Speaker 4: pads on Fridays.
- 12:33Speaker 8: We had one season where Mike McCarthy and Green Bay
- 12:36Speaker 8: was testing something. And one season we did our no
- 12:40Speaker 8: practice and like recovery day on Friday and we did
- 12:43Speaker 8: a Fast practice and shells on Saturday.
- 12:46Speaker 2: How'd it work? I think it worked pretty good.
- 12:49Speaker 8: I think that was the year we lost to Seattle
- 12:52Speaker 8: in the NFC Championship on an onside kick when we
- 12:55Speaker 8: were beating them.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Let's not talk about it.
- 12:58Speaker 8: It still haunts me. Even though I didn't play, it
- 13:00Speaker 8: still haunts me. I really wanted Seattle to lose, and
- 13:03Speaker 8: I wanted us to win.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Why'd you want Seattle to lose? Because I didn't like them. Actually,
- 13:07Speaker 2: I have no reason not to like them. I love them, actually.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Think about it. There's a lot of people that you
- 13:11Speaker 2: do like in that building. Oh, I love that. I
- 13:13Speaker 2: love a lot of people in that building. Like John Schneider.
- 13:15Speaker 2: It's really just two. I wonder which two you're talking about.
- 13:19Speaker 2: It's fine. I got nothing but love for everybody. All right.
- 13:23Speaker 4: Unlimited love?
- 13:26Speaker 2: Goes around. Does that love feel dangerous? I love love. Lovey, lovey, lovey, lovey.
- 13:35Speaker 5: Love is love.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Sometimes scars won't go away, guys.
- 13:41Speaker 5: I get it.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Prediction around the room. Sam Levitt play on Saturday? Yeah. Absolutely.
- 13:47Speaker 4: A thousand percent.
- 13:52Speaker 2: A thousand percent.
- 13:53Speaker 7: Somebody put a thousand percent in the chat a few
- 13:55Speaker 7: minutes ago, Jake.
- 13:56Speaker 2: I was like, oh. Did he say that?
- 13:57Speaker 4: It didn't make me mad yet, but it's like, it
- 14:00Speaker 4: is dumb.
- 14:02Speaker 2: I feel like if anybody doesn't want him to play,
- 14:05Speaker 2: it's Taylor. Oh, yeah.
- 14:07Speaker 5: He wants Landon Clark.
- 14:09Speaker 4: Taylor might go flatten his tires to the facility to
- 14:12Speaker 4: get to the plane on Friday.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Look, guys.
- 14:15Speaker 5: He's going to break Sam's foot himself.
- 14:16Speaker 7: Because if that happens, everybody's going to blame me.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Okay, so let's not. So put too much on.
- 14:21Speaker 8: Taylor might be cutting his grass Saturday morning with one
- 14:25Speaker 8: leg sleeve.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Might.
- 14:28Speaker 7: And then the opposite arm sleeve. He's going to have
- 14:31Speaker 7: the arms.
- 14:31Speaker 6: Uh-huh.
- 14:32Speaker 9: Oof.
- 14:33Speaker 5: He's going to show up tatted.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Oh, my God. It's going to be great.
- 14:36Speaker 5: Looking racially ambiguous.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Taylor's ready. It would be really easy for Taylor
- 14:46Speaker 2: to look racially ambiguous.
- 14:48Speaker 5: Yeah, super.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Super easy for him. Get a haircut. We can make
- 14:53Speaker 2: it happen.
- 14:54Speaker 3: A fade.
- 14:54Speaker 4: Yeah, we can make it happen. A new Iberia fable.
- 14:58Speaker 4: All right, we'll take a break. More OTB when we
- 15:00Speaker 4: come back here live from the Raising Cane Studios.
- 15:03Speaker 10: Off the bench.
- 15:03Speaker 4: All right, go to FABT.com. FABT.com. First American Bank and Trust.
- 15:09Speaker 4: Been in the game for over a century. Like, you
- 15:12Speaker 4: don't stay in the banking business for that long unless
- 15:15Speaker 4: you are doing everything the right way, treating your customers
- 15:18Speaker 4: the right way.
- 15:18Speaker 7: You are a name.
- 15:19Speaker 2: You are a face.
- 15:20Speaker 4: You are a relationship with First American Bank and Trust. So,
- 15:24Speaker 4: you're not just an account number. You're not just somebody
- 15:27Speaker 4: that they don't know anything about. Like, they are going
- 15:29Speaker 4: to make the decisions based off your relationships, right? Because
- 15:33Speaker 4: you sit there and let's just say you want to
- 15:36Speaker 4: start a business, right? You're going to sit down and
- 15:38Speaker 4: you're going to talk through that plan with somebody at
- 15:40Speaker 4: First American Bank and Trust. You're not just going to
- 15:42Speaker 4: fill out something online and get denied right off the bat.
- 15:45Speaker 4: So go see our friends over at First American Bank
- 15:47Speaker 4: and Trust, FABT.com.
- 15:50Speaker 8: First American Bank and Trust, been doing business since 1910.

- 17:43Speaker 8: under medical supervision. Everything's done the right way in the
- 17:46Speaker 8: right amounts. And nothing that they do is, like, over
- 17:49Speaker 8: the top. They're not trying to, like, with the hormone
- 17:51Speaker 8: replacement therapy, testosterone treatment, they're not, like, trying to get you, like,

- 18:17Speaker 8: there right over at rejuvenatemedical.com.
- 18:24Speaker 4: With all the injury news surrounding LSU, um, the line
- 18:30Speaker 4: hasn't really done too much. It was at three, went
- 18:33Speaker 4: down to one last night in favor of LSU. It
- 18:37Speaker 4: is now back up to two and a half. So
- 18:40Speaker 4: you had some real movement over the last little bit
- 18:43Speaker 4: here to go from three to one back to two
- 18:45Speaker 4: and a half. Um, that tells me that Vegas thinks
- 18:48Speaker 4: that the players are going to be available for LSU.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Um, We talked about this a little bit yesterday, I guess.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Ole Miss opened this thing up at minus one and
- 18:57Speaker 4: a half weeks ago, and it is now in favor
- 19:00Speaker 4: of LSU. And a lot of times in a matchup
- 19:02Speaker 4: like this, you wouldn't see the road team be a favorite,
- 19:07Speaker 4: certainly not by three.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Maybe a one and a half situation. Yeah.
- 19:14Speaker 8: I think it's got a lot to do with the defense,
- 19:15Speaker 8: and we've already talked about the defense, the matchup.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:20Speaker 8: Everything that we like about it. This is going to
- 19:22Speaker 8: be the first real, real test. The two teams that
- 19:25Speaker 8: they play. I mean, of course, you play Louisiana Tech.
- 19:27Speaker 8: We all know what that is. But they did score 80.
- 19:28Speaker 8: And again, it was against not a very good team.
- 19:31Speaker 8: But they did score. They were capable. Clemson, capable, not good.
- 19:37Speaker 8: So this is the first test. But it's not LSU's
- 19:41Speaker 8: fault that those offenses weren't good. They did what they
- 19:44Speaker 8: were supposed to do against two offenses they should dominate.
- 19:48Speaker 8: which is dominate and dominate even more than anybody expected.
- 19:52Speaker 8: But it's the way they look doing it. So that defense,
- 19:55Speaker 8: and you look at the stats, and I don't know
- 19:57Speaker 8: who posted it recently, we're the number one scoring defense
- 20:01Speaker 8: and the number three scoring offense in the country. So
- 20:03Speaker 8: it's like you add all those things up, There's not
- 20:07Speaker 8: a lot to go from. LSU looked more dominant in
- 20:10Speaker 8: their one real game than Ole Miss did in their
- 20:14Speaker 8: one real game.
- 20:16Speaker 4: ESPN matchup predictor actually favors LSU 65-35 in this one.
- 20:22Speaker 4: And I see that, but then I hear a lot too.
- 20:25Speaker 4: There's a lot of national media that's picking Ole Miss
- 20:28Speaker 4: in this game. Way more Ole Miss picks than LSU picks.
- 20:33Speaker 4: And a lot of people are pointing to he won
- 20:37Speaker 4: Lacey being able to run the football against LSU. And LSU,
- 20:42Speaker 4: if I'm not mistaken, and I'll double-check my math here,
- 20:46Speaker 4: I think LSU has the number one rush defense in America,
- 20:51Speaker 4: I believe. I know they have the number one yards allowed.
- 20:54Speaker 4: I know they're number one in sacks, but I also
- 20:56Speaker 4: believe they lead in that category. And I think Lacey's
- 21:00Speaker 4: a really good running back. And so it is going
- 21:02Speaker 4: to be great on great. I fully believe that as well.
- 21:06Speaker 4: But I guess I'm a little surprised just by the
- 21:09Speaker 4: fact that, again, I think you're the number one in
- 21:12Speaker 4: rush defense in the country, and a lot of people
- 21:16Speaker 4: that are picking Ole Miss are saying they believe they're
- 21:18Speaker 4: going to win, not because of Trinidad Chambliss, but because
- 21:21Speaker 4: of Keewon Lacey and what he can do in the
- 21:22Speaker 4: rushing attack.
- 21:24Speaker 6: I don't know if they're number one, number three, whatever.
- 21:27Speaker 6: They've given up 37 yards on the ground total.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Through two games.
- 21:32Speaker 4: They are number two in the nation, and they give up, 0.6
- 21:36Speaker 4: yards per carry. 57 attempts, 36 yards. Sack yards come
- 21:41Speaker 4: into that in college football. We talk about that often.
- 21:43Speaker 4: They're giving up 18 yards per game. Their longest run
- 21:46Speaker 4: they've given up this year is 11 yards. The only
- 21:49Speaker 4: team better than LSU right now is Houston. Houston's the
- 21:53Speaker 4: number one rush defense. LSU's actually number two. Houston's played
- 21:56Speaker 4: Oregon State and Southern so far, but outside of the
- 21:59Speaker 4: Houston Cougars, LSU right now, and again, they're giving up 0.6
- 22:03Speaker 4: yards per per carry, 18 yards per game on the ground.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Pretty good.
- 22:10Speaker 8: Look, Ole Miss will have more than 37 rushing yards
- 22:14Speaker 8: this week. I don't know if it's all going to
- 22:16Speaker 8: come from Kwon Lacey, but scramble yards are going to
- 22:19Speaker 8: play a factor this week. They are going to play
- 22:22Speaker 8: Trinidad scramble. But let me look at last year. Kwon
- 22:26Speaker 8: Lacey had 84 yards rushing, which is a good game.
- 22:29Speaker 8: It's not a great game. It's not an exceptional game.
- 22:32Speaker 8: But They had 84 plays to LSU's 56. So it's
- 22:37Speaker 8: a lot of plays. So they had a lot of opportunities.
- 22:42Speaker 8: And this year, the defense has improved. It's hard to
- 22:45Speaker 8: say that. You think about the defensive backs you lost,
- 22:47Speaker 8: but the defense is way better this year than they
- 22:50Speaker 8: were last year. Now, they were good last year. This year,
- 22:52Speaker 8: they have the potential to be great. Now, of course,
- 22:55Speaker 8: injuries are going to play, and you've got to keep
- 22:57Speaker 8: people healthy. But Ole Miss will make some plays. They'll
- 23:00Speaker 8: have more than LSU's given up all season long combined
- 23:05Speaker 8: this week. But that's because Trinidad's going to escape some.
- 23:10Speaker 8: Now it's just a matter of making sure that it
- 23:12Speaker 8: doesn't break you. Make sure it doesn't do it at
- 23:15Speaker 8: key times. Like at 3rd and 18, if there's a
- 23:19Speaker 8: penalty at 3rd and 18, you can't let them break
- 23:21Speaker 8: one off for 19.
- 23:23Speaker 2: So it's going to happen. But I do. I watched it.
- 23:29Speaker 2: I like.
- 23:29Speaker 8: I do not think that Ole Miss' offense, to this
- 23:32Speaker 8: point at least, is nearly as creative or as good
- 23:37Speaker 8: as they were last year. That doesn't mean Trinidad's not
- 23:39Speaker 8: better or as good. It doesn't mean Kewon Lacy's not
- 23:42Speaker 8: better or as good. Just talking offensively, this game that
- 23:46Speaker 8: I'm watching is fairly bland from what I've seen. A
- 23:49Speaker 8: lot of counters run, so that rushing attack, the best
- 23:52Speaker 8: thing that they do is fool you with speed. And
- 23:56Speaker 8: give you a lot of eye candy. So they're going
- 23:57Speaker 8: to start with a tight end in the backfield, and
- 23:59Speaker 8: they're going to motion them out wide to make you
- 24:01Speaker 8: make a quick adjustment, and they'll snap it quick so
- 24:03Speaker 8: you don't have time to make those calls. They are
- 24:05Speaker 8: going to run quarterback counter, and they're going to fake
- 24:07Speaker 8: a jet sweep and then fake a pitch to the
- 24:09Speaker 8: running back and then have Trinidad. So there's going to
- 24:11Speaker 8: be a lot to look at. The discipline is going
- 24:14Speaker 8: to have to be outstanding this week from LSU's defense.
- 24:18Speaker 8: But that's one of the awesome things about what I've
- 24:21Speaker 8: seen from our defense so far is they have been
- 24:24Speaker 8: so disciplined.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:25Speaker 8: Getting to their, you know, with their rush lanes. They've
- 24:28Speaker 8: been disciplined with the defensive linemen and linebackers bluffing and dropping,
- 24:32Speaker 8: not just dropping to drop, but dropping to the right spots.
- 24:35Speaker 8: The secondary guys making up for the holes that linebackers
- 24:38Speaker 8: and nickels are living when they pressure. Like, they have
- 24:41Speaker 8: been very good.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Is this the ultimate, like, do your job? Do your
- 24:45Speaker 4: job type game. And what I mean by that is
- 24:48Speaker 4: don't try to do somebody else's job. Again, like, later
- 24:51Speaker 4: on when we drop the items, guys, It's very easy
- 24:55Speaker 4: to do, and it's hard to even get mad because
- 24:57Speaker 4: you understand what they're seeing and what they're trying to do.
- 25:00Speaker 4: But Matt just said it. A lot of times when
- 25:02Speaker 4: Ole Miss runs a Q counter, which is a quarterback counter,
- 25:05Speaker 4: they're going to have a jet sweep. That's eye candy,
- 25:08Speaker 4: and it's also timing for a counter to allow your
- 25:10Speaker 4: pullers to get in front of you. All right, so
- 25:12Speaker 4: there's a jet sweep. That's eye candy. Then there's a
- 25:15Speaker 4: fake toss to a running back. That's more eye candy.
- 25:18Speaker 4: And then here comes your All-American quarterback running counter behind
- 25:22Speaker 4: Ole a puller, right, an offensive lineman and a tight end,
- 25:25Speaker 4: so two pullers on a counter. And if you are
- 25:29Speaker 4: undisciplined with your eyes and you're trying to do somebody
- 25:31Speaker 4: else's job and that creates a crease, well, this quarterback
- 25:35Speaker 4: is good enough to get in that crease and make
- 25:37Speaker 4: a play. So that's why you have to, hey, the
- 25:39Speaker 4: jet sweep, we got a guy for that. The running back,
- 25:42Speaker 4: if he gets the ball tossed to him, we got
- 25:44Speaker 4: a guy for that.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Well, you have to.
- 25:45Speaker 4: Be sound in your gaps against this team It's kind
- 25:49Speaker 4: of like if you're not, that's when you get in trouble.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Preparing for an option, right? A little bit.
- 25:52Speaker 8: I got the pitch guy no matter what. I will
- 25:54Speaker 8: never drop in. There's three things that you technically could do.
- 25:58Speaker 4: Now, they're not going to pitch it to the running
- 25:59Speaker 4: back because there's nothing leading him on a toss. But, again,
- 26:04Speaker 4: in the heat of the moment, with live bullets flying,
- 26:06Speaker 4: you don't think, well, he doesn't have somebody that can
- 26:08Speaker 4: block him. You're just thinking running back on the edge.
- 26:11Speaker 8: When we watched that, when I watched those clips and
- 26:13Speaker 8: I watched the film, and it's like, man. Jet sweep,
- 26:16Speaker 8: I got two people. The fake pitch, I got three people.
- 26:19Speaker 8: Now you got two linemen leading up to the second level.
- 26:22Speaker 8: Of course, Trinidad's going to score there.
- 26:25Speaker 2: And I'm like, man. But then I think about it.
- 26:27Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, yeah.
- 26:28Speaker 8: LSU's offense does that, like, every day in practice. So
- 26:31Speaker 8: our defense has seen it. It's not something new. Our
- 26:34Speaker 8: defense goes against that type of offense with that eye candy,
- 26:38Speaker 8: with that pre-snap motion, shifts, all those different things. They've
- 26:42Speaker 8: practiced it. They've adjusted to it.
- 26:44Speaker 2: So, again.
- 26:46Speaker 8: I'm going to keep saying it until the game, and
- 26:47Speaker 8: maybe I'm proven wrong. I don't think I will be
- 26:50Speaker 8: on this one. I like the matchup between LSU's defense
- 26:54Speaker 8: and their offense. Again, they're going to score points. They're
- 26:56Speaker 8: going to get theirs. But at the end of the day,
- 26:58Speaker 8: there's going to be more positive plays for the defense
- 27:01Speaker 8: than there will be for their offense.
- 27:05Speaker 2: All right.
- 27:05Speaker 4: We will step away. We've got more coming your way
- 27:09Speaker 4: on this Thursday. We're going to get to our guy,
- 27:11Speaker 4: Chef Michael Johnson, in hour number three. as you know,
- 27:14Speaker 4: to answer any munchy questions. And maybe you've got a
- 27:16Speaker 4: little watch party going on at the house for this
- 27:19Speaker 4: game and you want to make something. So Chef coming
- 27:21Speaker 4: up and joining us at 9.15, I think, is today's time.
- 27:26Speaker 4: So we'll have that for you. And hopefully he doesn't– well, actually,
- 27:29Speaker 4: hopefully he does have a big recruit. That's a good point.
- 27:32Speaker 4: You know, one of those double-edged sword type things. Five-star pluses.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Some are saying.
- 27:37Speaker 4: More OTB when we come back.
- 27:39Speaker 10: Off the bench.

- 29:03Speaker 10: the country. I'm gonna eat me a lot of peaches.
- 29:07Speaker 10: I'm moving to the country. I'm gonna eat a lot
- 29:11Speaker 10: of peaches.
- 29:12Speaker 2: I'm moving to the country.
- 29:15Speaker 10: I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Peaches come from a can.
- 29:20Speaker 3: They were put there by a man.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Locked in on LSU football 24-7. You're listening to Off
- 29:27Speaker 1: the Bench.
- 29:30Speaker 7: I had my little way.
- 29:32Speaker 5: I eat peaches every day.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Sun soaking bulges in the shade.
- 29:38Speaker 10: Moving to the country.
- 30:14Speaker 4: I mean, they just came in, had an album, and said, no,
- 30:16Speaker 4: we're good.
- 30:17Speaker 2: I'll let you.
- 30:21Speaker 5: That's all I got.
- 30:23Speaker 2: I guess that's true. Nature's candy.
- 30:25Speaker 4: We emptied the clip.
- 30:26Speaker 2: We're out. It's a good album. Hand or can or pat.
- 30:32Speaker 5: I like this part.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Millions of peaches.
- 30:36Speaker 7: Peaches for me.
- 30:39Speaker 2: How much? Eight.
- 30:43Speaker 5: For who? Like the Migos.
- 30:47Speaker 2: What should we do about it? Good pull.
- 30:54Speaker 9: I got to get the 90s out because Coffee and
- 30:55Speaker 9: Flannel is like, I can't do it anymore.
- 30:58Speaker 8: Oh, no.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Why not?
- 30:59Speaker 5: Because the Saints take up all their time.
- 31:02Speaker 2: True, true, true. They're always at.
- 31:04Speaker 5: The end of the game. Like zero primetime games, so.
- 31:07Speaker 3: One.
- 31:08Speaker 2: You got one against the Falcons.
- 31:10Speaker 5: So maybe one coffee and flannel this fall.
- 31:12Speaker 2: I feel like 90s rock's good. 90s rock has a
- 31:18Speaker 2: lot of different branches.
- 31:19Speaker 5: There's so many sub-genres of it, yeah.
- 31:23Speaker 4: Like what would we consider like Matchbox 20?
- 31:29Speaker 5: Alternative.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Okay. Big 90s for me. Smashing Pumpkins.
- 31:35Speaker 5: That's grunge.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Big 90s.
- 31:36Speaker 5: I think, yeah.
- 31:39Speaker 2: A lot of different variations there.
- 31:45Speaker 5: What are you doing?
- 31:45Speaker 2: I need you to give me a band or something.
- 31:47Speaker 4: What are you doing over there?
- 31:49Speaker 2: You're over there doom scrolling. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
- 31:53Speaker 4: That's another good one.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Crossroads. Great song. Actually, literally, I just saw a post.
- 32:05Speaker 2: It was old kids of Hanson. Hanson Bros. Just like
- 32:10Speaker 2: singing some song.
- 32:11Speaker 5: Mbop?
- 32:12Speaker 2: Probably Mbop. No, they weren't. Like the soccer player? They
- 32:15Speaker 2: were his current Hanson brothers.
- 32:17Speaker 5: The soccer player Mbop?
- 32:19Speaker 2: They what? So I've heard Rumor.
- 32:22Speaker 9: Oh.
- 32:23Speaker 5: I love a Rumor.
- 32:23Speaker 2: All right.
- 32:24Speaker 4: Okay.
- 32:24Speaker 2: So a couple of things. Smells Like Teen Spirit. Family
- 32:29Speaker 2: of the Doubtful? Smells Like Teen Spirit. Ended 80s music.
- 32:34Speaker 9: Okay.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Like that type of rock. And Hanson. ended the grunge movement.
- 32:39Speaker 4: Okay.
- 32:40Speaker 2: I've heard that. Hanson with one song. With one song,
- 32:43Speaker 2: ended the entire grunge movement.
- 32:46Speaker 8: That's, that is what, that is some other, that is
- 32:49Speaker 8: some music people's, probably one music person's opinion, but I
- 32:54Speaker 8: took it like the law. Hanson ended the grunge movement.
- 32:58Speaker 8: Smells Like Teen Spirit ended like the power ballad, like
- 33:02Speaker 8: 80s stuff.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 33:04Speaker 4: I don't know about Oom Bob doing that. Like, For me,
- 33:07Speaker 4: I went away from Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins. Not went away,
- 33:10Speaker 4: but went to some other stuff like when Matchbox 20,
- 33:14Speaker 4: Third Eye, Blind, those kind of bands started doing something
- 33:17Speaker 4: a little bit different.
- 33:20Speaker 8: It started more of the pop revolution to more poppy
- 33:26Speaker 8: type songs.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Look. Don't shoot the messenger here.
- 33:32Speaker 4: I'm not. I don't think your information is good.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Why?
- 33:36Speaker 5: I think the Smells Like Teen Spirit one, yes.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:40Speaker 8: Well, you got to say, the 90s pop music ended
- 33:44Speaker 8: the grunge. So what started the 90s pop?
- 33:47Speaker 5: I think Kurt Cobain, either however you want to look
- 33:52Speaker 5: at it.
- 33:52Speaker 2: The air quotes.
- 33:53Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 33:54Speaker 5: Him being gone.
- 33:55Speaker 2: There you go. He ended the grunge. Yeah. Allegedly.
- 34:04Speaker 5: Courtney might have.
- 34:05Speaker 9: Mm-hmm.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Jordan Sister.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Oh, Green Day.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Jordan. There's a couple good ones.
- 34:15Speaker 4: Like Daniel said, I think Back That Ass Up did.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Well said. No, it's fine.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Alex said Green Day did it. That's another good one
- 34:24Speaker 4: to throw in there, Green Day.
- 34:26Speaker 7: Yeah, because, I mean, in the early 2000s, they were like.
- 34:29Speaker 4: In the 90s, though, that was probably their best album
- 34:33Speaker 4: was that first one. And they kind of did have
- 34:37Speaker 4: a new sound.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Yeah, they had more of a punky sound.
- 34:41Speaker 8: So anyways, I mean, someone said, how is grunge over?
- 34:44Speaker 8: I mean, they just thought kind of like over.
- 34:46Speaker 2: It's just not a genre. It doesn't go from like,
- 34:48Speaker 2: we'll never stop listening to. Yeah.
- 34:52Speaker 4: Every genre has like its moment in the sun and
- 34:55Speaker 4: then it just circles back eventually.
- 34:57Speaker 9: I feel like it'd be hard to bring it back
- 34:58Speaker 9: to like if somebody in this era, say somebody like
- 35:03Speaker 9: in the, in their twenties or something and they started
- 35:05Speaker 9: a band and they tried to.
- 35:06Speaker 5: Do like grunge. I don't think it would. play the
- 35:10Speaker 5: same way.
- 35:11Speaker 2: I hear you.
- 35:11Speaker 5: It's so in that moment and so in that.
- 35:14Speaker 9: Era that it would feel weird if they tried to
- 35:19Speaker 9: renew the genre.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Right, I'm with you.
- 35:21Speaker 4: But I also didn't think that mumble rap would ever
- 35:24Speaker 4: be a thing because it's horrible.
- 35:27Speaker 2: It 100% is.
- 35:27Speaker 4: A thousand percent, as some would say.
- 35:29Speaker 2: A thousand and ten percent.
- 35:32Speaker 4: I'm just going to start saying a thousand percent since.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Everybody does it.
- 35:34Speaker 5: A thousand and ten.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Let's do that. Come on, man. Give 110%.
- 35:39Speaker 10: Sir?
- 35:40Speaker 9: Yeah, I actually think this is the answer. New metal
- 35:42Speaker 9: killed grunge. Like, Limp Bizkit and stuff.
- 35:45Speaker 5: Or Korn. Yeah.
- 35:48Speaker 2: He did it all for the what? Huh? It's factual.
- 35:53Speaker 2: It's handsome.
- 35:55Speaker 7: I don't think you're intentionally lying to us, Matt.
- 35:57Speaker 2: I think you just... Yeah, you got bad info.
- 35:58Speaker 5: Wait, I love this comment because it's very you.
- 36:01Speaker 9: Flynn saying-ish, he pulls out of his ass, then saying,
- 36:04Speaker 9: don't shoot the messenger.
- 36:08Speaker 7: It's like, well, what if it's the messenger's fault, Matt?
- 36:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:13Speaker 4: Was the messenger like one of your children that saw
- 36:15Speaker 4: it on a YouTube video?
- 36:18Speaker 8: I can't confirm or deny this. This is something I've
- 36:21Speaker 8: always believed throughout my adulthood. I've got to know, again,
- 36:26Speaker 8: I'm not just some guy.
- 36:27Speaker 5: No.
- 36:28Speaker 2: I'm not just some guy.
- 36:29Speaker 9: You're the only other quarterback. That threw three interceptions in
- 36:33Speaker 9: the first quarter.
- 36:35Speaker 7: Or in one quarter, yeah.
- 36:38Speaker 2: And won the game.
- 36:40Speaker 7: And won the game, yeah.
- 36:40Speaker 5: Sorry, I forgot to.
- 36:41Speaker 2: Not a big deal. My name got said on TV.
- 36:44Speaker 2: And the radio.
- 36:46Speaker 9: Man.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Super famous.
- 36:48Speaker 6: Well, you're also the guy from the poncho ads.
- 36:52Speaker 2: It's called a male model.
- 36:55Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 36:56Speaker 2: And I'm face model, not just a hand jacket.
- 36:58Speaker 4: I reached out to Poncho because the light purple, I
- 37:01Speaker 4: wanted another one. And when I say it's like completely
- 37:03Speaker 4: sold out, there's not one in the warehouse. And he's like,
- 37:08Speaker 4: these things are flying off the shelf. And they didn't
- 37:10Speaker 4: just make a couple.
- 37:11Speaker 2: No, no, no, no. I said, you know why? He's like, why?
- 37:15Speaker 2: The male model? I mean, isn't it obvious?
- 37:18Speaker 8: Every other college, there's lots of them in the warehouse.
- 37:21Speaker 4: As Skip would say, lots of stuff.
- 37:24Speaker 2: Lots of them. Shout out to Skip.
- 37:25Speaker 5: God bless.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Goat. So glad.
- 37:28Speaker 7: I love that commercial.
- 37:29Speaker 2: I love Skip. Skip was the guy. He was the man.
- 37:36Speaker 4: I did see where Jay Johnson, speaking of Skip.
- 37:39Speaker 5: I saw that.
- 37:39Speaker 4: They're going to wear a 15, but he said, it
- 37:41Speaker 4: might be forever.
- 37:42Speaker 5: Yeah, they should.
- 37:43Speaker 2: And I was like, you know, at first I was like, okay.
- 37:45Speaker 2: I started thinking about it. I was like, No, they
- 37:47Speaker 2: absolutely should.
- 37:48Speaker 5: Or at least like a sticker on the helmet.
- 37:50Speaker 4: That man, what Skip did for college baseball, it doesn't
- 37:53Speaker 4: go away after a year.
- 37:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Like forever. Certainly here, but I think everywhere. So I'm like,
- 37:58Speaker 2: you know what?
- 38:00Speaker 4: I can get behind them always having a 15 on
- 38:01Speaker 4: their team.
- 38:02Speaker 5: I think at the very least, the entire SEC should
- 38:06Speaker 5: do that.
- 38:07Speaker 2: For a year?
- 38:08Speaker 5: At the very least.
- 38:10Speaker 4: Well, they probably would if it wasn't us.
- 38:12Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 38:13Speaker 2: They don't really like us right now.
- 38:16Speaker 5: I have a genuine question.
- 38:18Speaker 2: You want to tease it? Okay.
- 38:19Speaker 5: Yeah, we can.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Oh, a long question.
- 38:22Speaker 4: When we come back here.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Oh, no TV.
- 38:24Speaker 5: Everyone tunes out off the bench.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Better stay locked in. If you don't stay locked in,
- 38:28Speaker 4: I'll punch you right in the mouth. Go central plumbing.org
- 38:30Speaker 4: central plumbing.org. Not only in central, not only in the
- 38:33Speaker 4: entire greater Baton Rouge area and Lafayette as well. Go
- 38:37Speaker 4: to the website today. 24, seven, three 65 weekend holiday
- 38:40Speaker 4: game day. Even right before boot meets ball. Ole Miss
- 38:43Speaker 4: versus LSU. You got a plumbing problem and issue.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Guess what? They'll be there. Do they want to watch
- 38:48Speaker 2: the game?
- 38:48Speaker 4: Yeah, probably so. But you know what? They're going to
- 38:50Speaker 4: be there for you. They're going to fix your problem. Now,
- 38:53Speaker 4: it's not only in emergencies. If you're looking to upgrade
- 38:55Speaker 4: at your home, at your business, they can do that
- 38:57Speaker 4: as well.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Go to centralplumbing.org. You're right. They want to see that
- 38:59Speaker 2: seven-man protection versus that LSU. Yeah, they do. Yep. Simulated pressure.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Are you kidding me? Centralplumbing. Centralplumbing.org.
- 39:08Speaker 8: The best in the game. Been doing it a long time.
- 39:10Speaker 8: The Payne Family, third-generation plumbing company.
- 39:12Speaker 2: They are the experts.
- 39:13Speaker 8: There's nothing too big, nothing too small. that they can't handle.
- 39:16Speaker 8: They've done work for me. They can do work for you.
- 39:18Speaker 8: I'm talking commercial. They've done, they turned a warehouse that
- 39:21Speaker 8: was four walls and a roof into a full-blown food
- 39:24Speaker 8: and beverage manufacturer facility. They can do water heaters at
- 39:26Speaker 8: your house. It doesn't matter.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Give them a call, centralpublic.org.
- 39:34Speaker 1: 2007 champs, purple and gold to the core. This is
- 39:37Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, Baton Rouge's go-to
- 39:41Speaker 1: for all things Louisiana sports. Thank you.
- 40:21Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in.
- 40:25Speaker 4: OTB here live from the Raising Cane Studio. The New
- 40:30Speaker 4: Orleans Saints traveling to Baltimore to take on the Ravens
- 40:33Speaker 4: coming up this weekend. ESPN Matchup Predictor gives the Baltimore
- 40:36Speaker 4: Ravens a 76% chance to win this contest. Right now,
- 40:41Speaker 4: Baltimore is a 8.5 point favorite.
- 40:46Speaker 2: It opened up at 7.5.
- 40:47Speaker 4: It's actually gone up to 8.5. It's a big number
- 40:52Speaker 4: in the NFL, as we all know. We talked about
- 40:53Speaker 4: the big number a week ago with the Lions. That
- 40:57Speaker 4: was a touchdown spread, so it finished at minus seven.
- 41:00Speaker 4: This one, minus eight and a half right now in
- 41:02Speaker 4: favor of the Ravens. For the most part, Saints going
- 41:07Speaker 4: to go into this one pretty healthy. I know that
- 41:10Speaker 4: your long snapper, Zach Wood, is going to be out.
- 41:12Speaker 4: You'll sign somebody else. He'll be back. Questionable, Jawan Johnson.
- 41:16Speaker 4: He's got an illness.
- 41:17Speaker 2: He's going to play. Oscar Delps.
- 41:19Speaker 4: Questionable Cam Jordan as well right now. So for the
- 41:24Speaker 4: most part, you come into the game fairly healthy, at
- 41:27Speaker 4: least as you entered the season. Still, that line continues
- 41:31Speaker 4: to go up. And one of the bigger numbers in
- 41:34Speaker 4: the NFL. And I thought maybe with the Saints' performance
- 41:37Speaker 4: in the second half last week, maybe that would change.
- 41:40Speaker 4: But some of this does have to do with the
- 41:45Speaker 4: Baltimore Ravens. I think how impressive they were against the Colts.
- 41:49Speaker 4: And week number one, that plays into it as well.
- 41:50Speaker 4: But this is tied for the second biggest line of
- 41:54Speaker 4: the weekend. The only line that's bigger is the San
- 41:57Speaker 4: Francisco 49ers minus.
- 41:59Speaker 2: 13.5 against the Miami Dolphins.
- 42:01Speaker 4: There is another 8.5-point line, and that one is the
- 42:04Speaker 4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the Cleveland Browns. So not a
- 42:08Speaker 4: lot of faith that the Saints can go on the
- 42:10Speaker 4: road against Baltimore and have any success.
- 42:13Speaker 8: Well, you've got to also remember the line is dictated
- 42:16Speaker 8: on how much money is being bet and how many
- 42:19Speaker 8: bets and throughout the country, throughout the world, whatever. So
- 42:23Speaker 8: there is a huge like discrepancy between the sexiness of
- 42:27Speaker 8: these two teams right now because of Lamar Jackson, a
- 42:31Speaker 8: new coach, and specifically the performance that Derrick Henry had,
- 42:35Speaker 8: the seemingly ageless running back who's a giant and who
- 42:39Speaker 8: scored three touchdowns this past week. And Lamar seemed to
- 42:41Speaker 8: be like re, like, rejuvenated in his career and healthy. Like,
- 42:46Speaker 8: there's a big sexy factor to the Ravens that I'm assuming, like,
- 42:50Speaker 8: if the line's six and a half or seven, that
- 42:52Speaker 8: bettors are going to bet that because they saw that.
- 42:56Speaker 8: They probably didn't see the Saints game at noon. Probably
- 43:00Speaker 8: didn't see it. And they didn't see the second half.
- 43:02Speaker 8: And there's... I've seen this with the Ravens, though. I've
- 43:06Speaker 8: seen this with Derrick Henry throughout his career.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Why?
- 43:09Speaker 8: Because I play daily fantasy, and he'll have a big game,
- 43:11Speaker 8: then I'll make him my captain the next game, and
- 43:13Speaker 8: he has nothing. So he has these big games, and
- 43:16Speaker 8: he's going to have multiple games this season where he
- 43:20Speaker 8: scores multiple touchdowns. But then he's going to have some
- 43:22Speaker 8: games where he rushes for 27 yards. It's just how
- 43:27Speaker 8: you game plan it. The problem with the Ravens is
- 43:29Speaker 8: you can't really game plan for one person because the
- 43:31Speaker 8: other guy beats you.
- 43:32Speaker 4: They got so much talent on that side. Now, Zay
- 43:35Speaker 4: Flowers is big in this one, too.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Yeah, he is.
- 43:37Speaker 4: I think he had a massive first half. He's got
- 43:39Speaker 4: a hamstring. I don't think he practiced on Wednesday, so
- 43:41Speaker 4: we'll see what happens today.
- 43:42Speaker 2: As Kellen Moore would say, he's got a hamstring. Quick question.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Quick question. I ever play, he's got a back. He's
- 43:51Speaker 2: got a shoulder. This is for the room. Alondra, what
- 43:53Speaker 2: was your question?
- 43:54Speaker 4: I was about to do that.
- 43:55Speaker 5: I was assuming that we were just going to like.
- 43:59Speaker 4: No, I was about to do it, and I was
- 44:01Speaker 4: going to be like, the best question is, what is
- 44:03Speaker 4: Alondra's question?
- 44:04Speaker 2: Dang it.
- 44:05Speaker 5: We're going to go back to college football for my question.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Okay. Let's go.
- 44:08Speaker 9: But I also want to say that this morning when
- 44:10Speaker 9: you were saying that the offense for Ole Miss looks
- 44:14Speaker 9: a little lackluster this season or maybe different from what
- 44:18Speaker 9: it was before, I find that to be really funny
- 44:20Speaker 9: because I feel like all offseason we've been like, why
- 44:24Speaker 9: is Ole Miss getting all the hype when their entire
- 44:27Speaker 9: staff left?
- 44:28Speaker 5: Like, basically the entire staff.
- 44:29Speaker 9: So, like, obviously it's going to be a shell of
- 44:32Speaker 9: itself because– Like, I love that you said that because,
- 44:35Speaker 9: I mean, the.
- 44:37Speaker 5: Offensive staff is gone.
- 44:38Speaker 7: Do you even John David Baker?
- 44:40Speaker 9: The staff that made them exciting is now here at LSU.
- 44:44Speaker 5: And guess what?
- 44:44Speaker 9: We have a somewhat exciting offense.
- 44:47Speaker 8: There will be similarities. Maybe a shell of themselves isn't
- 44:51Speaker 8: necessarily the right term. It's just a little different.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:53Speaker 4: Right?
- 44:54Speaker 2: And it's not as creative. And, again, I'm basing this
- 44:57Speaker 2: off of the first game of the season, too. Right.
- 45:00Speaker 8: It's a long season, so I don't want to overreact
- 45:03Speaker 8: to one thing, but I'm watching just kind of their
- 45:06Speaker 8: go-to calls.
- 45:07Speaker 2: And adjustments are, you know, I mean, it lacks a
- 45:11Speaker 2: little bit of creativity.
- 45:12Speaker 5: So my question is this.
- 45:15Speaker 9: How big of a meltdown do you think the Ole
- 45:18Speaker 9: Miss fan base will have? And do you think Keith
- 45:21Speaker 9: Carter will start to be like, if they walk into
- 45:24Speaker 9: November with two losses, because that is very possible for them. Like,
- 45:29Speaker 9: they have to go, they play LSU, and then they
- 45:31Speaker 9: got to go to Florida, which looks like a good
- 45:33Speaker 9: team right now.
- 45:34Speaker 2: I'm a big John Sumrall believer. Yeah.
- 45:37Speaker 5: So, I just.
- 45:39Speaker 4: It's a good question.
- 45:42Speaker 5: That was what I was asking preseason.
- 45:43Speaker 9: Like, how much pressure is, all the pressure is on
- 45:45Speaker 9: Lane Kiffin, but I feel like Pete Golding does too,
- 45:47Speaker 9: but nobody's putting it on him.
- 45:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I think a lot of it's just because nobody
- 45:51Speaker 4: likes playing LSU right now. And again, I think you
- 45:54Speaker 4: had stepped out when I said, like, all the national
- 45:56Speaker 4: media is picking Ole Miss in this game. Yes. Like,
- 45:59Speaker 4: almost across the board.
- 46:00Speaker 5: It's intellectually dishonest to me.
- 46:03Speaker 8: I think they should melt down because this is Ole
- 46:05Speaker 8: Miss's window of relevancy.
- 46:07Speaker 6: Well, they're holding our hope that it wasn't all lane.
- 46:11Speaker 6: It was, but yeah, if they collapse after this.
- 46:13Speaker 2: That's it.
- 46:14Speaker 8: They're going to get a couple of years. They'll go
- 46:16Speaker 8: back to winning seven, eight, maybe nine games on a
- 46:18Speaker 8: good year. Right now, this is their window of relevancy.
- 46:21Speaker 8: So it's a must win. So they can put another,
- 46:26Speaker 8: you know, potentially.
- 46:27Speaker 2: We beat LSU. Playoff appearance. We beat LSU two years
- 46:30Speaker 2: in a row.
- 46:30Speaker 4: Yep.
- 46:32Speaker 2: All right, we'll take a break.
- 46:33Speaker 4: We've got more OTB coming right back your way, hour
- 46:35Speaker 4: number three.
