  Speaker 1: these verses to their lives and the Lord Jesus Christ's name.

  Speaker 1: I pray a men. So we're going to be in

  Speaker 1: Matthew chapter twenty three one through fifteen. If you would

  Speaker 1: And it's been a great series. Of course. I like

  Speaker 1: to call them series because there's going to be different

  Speaker 1: parts of the chapters that I cover from the beginning

  Speaker 1: to where I close in a fifteen minute segment. So

  Speaker 1: there's a lot that can be crammed in fifteen minutes.

  Speaker 1: But I also know that the average attention spanned for
• 1:05
  Speaker 1: the human being, with the way life is, is not
• 1:09
  Speaker 1: that long. So is fifteen minutes enough, I believe? So

  Speaker 1: I used to do thirty minutes to our podcasts, and
• 1:19
  Speaker 1: I just think it was a little too much when
• 1:21
  Speaker 1: I first started doing this as a believer. Now being
• 1:24
  Speaker 1: a follower of Christ, I've given you plenty of time
• 1:26
  Speaker 1: to go ahead and grab that Bible and get on
• 1:31
  Speaker 1: Matthew Chapter twenty three, and the Embra show is just beginning.

  Speaker 1: because there's going to be one of these verses that
• 1:41
  Speaker 1: really resonates with you. And if not, it's going to

  Speaker 1: be the preaching that maybe uplifts you and encourage you
• 1:48
  Speaker 1: to keep doing the next right thing. So Matthew, chapter
• 1:50
  Speaker 1: twenty three, and it is titled We Own twenty three. Yes,
• 1:57
  Speaker 1: Jesus warns about the rules of the Pharisees. Chapter twenty three,

  Speaker 1: Verse one states after Jesus spoke to the crowds and
• 2:09
  Speaker 1: to his disciples, he said, the teachers of God's Law
• 2:13
  Speaker 1: and the Pharisees have authority to explain the laws of Moses.

  Speaker 1: You must obey everything that they teach you, but you
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: should not do the same things that they do. They
• 2:26
  Speaker 1: tell you what the law teaches, but they themselves do
• 2:30
  Speaker 1: not owebay it. It's one thing to preach something. There's
• 2:36
  Speaker 1: one thing to teach something. But if you are not
• 2:38
  Speaker 1: practicing what you preach, if you are not applying what
• 2:43
  Speaker 1: needs to be applied from what you've obtained, it's almost
• 2:48
  Speaker 1: being like a hypocrite, like the Pharisees. You can put
• 2:53
  Speaker 1: on that image of God, but do you have that
• 2:55
  Speaker 1: consciousness of God. Let's continue verse four. The rules that
• 3:00
  Speaker 1: they give you are difficult to obey. Their rules are
• 3:04
  Speaker 1: like heavy luggage which they make you carry, But they
• 3:09
  Speaker 1: themselves will not help you to carry that luggage. They
• 3:12
  Speaker 1: refuse to even they refuse to use even one finger
• 3:18
  Speaker 1: to help you. And this is verse five we're getting into.
• 3:21
  Speaker 1: The Pharisees do things only so that people will see them.
• 3:27
  Speaker 1: It's all about their image. It's not necessarily what they
• 3:30
  Speaker 1: have in their hearts. They wear little boxes with words
• 3:35
  Speaker 1: from the Bible in them, but they make them really big.
• 3:39
  Speaker 1: They also make the tussels of their clothings very long.
• 3:45
  Speaker 1: They like to sit in the important places at special meals.
• 3:50
  Speaker 1: They also choose to sit in the best seats in
• 3:53
  Speaker 1: the meeting places. Verse seven. They like people to praise
• 3:57
  Speaker 1: them in the marketplace. They want people to call them teacher.

  Speaker 1: What stands out to me is verse seven before it
• 4:07
  Speaker 1: says the last sentence is they like people to praise
• 4:12
  Speaker 1: them in the marketplace. Now we're talking the marketplace where
• 4:16
  Speaker 1: Jesus went and flip the tables. That was not a
• 4:21
  Speaker 1: place to be a marketplace. It's supposed to be God's
• 4:24
  Speaker 1: temple and being as if. There is so many different
• 4:31
  Speaker 1: masks we can wear as a human being. You could
• 4:35
  Speaker 1: be mad, but you could be wearing a smile on
• 4:39
  Speaker 1: your face. You could be sad and be angry. It's
• 4:46
  Speaker 1: hard to process emotions sometimes being able to not understand
• 4:51
  Speaker 1: why that emotion came in the first place. When we
• 4:57
  Speaker 1: get distracted as human beings, we are not on our calling,
• 5:02
  Speaker 1: we are not on our purpose. We are out of line.
• 5:05
  Speaker 1: I want to make this clear that I am no
• 5:09
  Speaker 1: one that is near perfect, but I serve a Jesus
• 5:13
  Speaker 1: that is the one that walked this earth that was
• 5:16
  Speaker 1: the only perfect one. The best part of being a
• 5:22
  Speaker 1: follower of Christ over being just a believer is that
• 5:26
  Speaker 1: you're really, really connected to the Holy Spirit. Now, that
• 5:33
  Speaker 1: does not necessarily mean that it's going to lead to
• 5:38
  Speaker 1: every day you're going to always feel the presence of God.
• 5:42
  Speaker 1: I want to make that clearer, because there is another
• 5:48
  Speaker 1: spirit that lives in us, that wants to do what
• 5:52
  Speaker 1: it wants to do, and being able to surrender it.
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: It takes time for a lot of people now, sometimes quickly,
• 6:00
  Speaker 1: sometimes slowly, right, And it depends on how dedicated you
• 6:08
  Speaker 1: really want to be to be able to obtain the
• 6:11
  Speaker 1: riches of heaven. And the temporary fixes and the temporary
• 6:17
  Speaker 1: treasures that the devil can give, they eventually vanish. But
• 6:21
  Speaker 1: anything that God gives is everlasting, and that joy is
• 6:25
  Speaker 1: what you should be seeking for. Right. Everybody wants to
• 6:31
  Speaker 1: be loved, Everybody wants to be appreciated, everybody wants to
• 6:34
  Speaker 1: be seen, but consistently that it is unrealistic from people, places,
• 6:42
  Speaker 1: and things on this earth. People are gonna let you down.
• 6:45
  Speaker 1: You're not gonna always want to go to certain places.
• 6:48
  Speaker 1: Things will eventually run out. They don't last forever. Right,
• 6:54
  Speaker 1: So verse eight, you all belong to God's family. You
• 6:59
  Speaker 1: have only one teacher, so nobody should call another person teacher.
• 7:05
  Speaker 1: Verse nine, Also, do not call any other person in
• 7:08
  Speaker 1: the world father. You have only one father, and he
• 7:12
  Speaker 1: is in heaven. We're all spitting images of God, right,
• 7:17
  Speaker 1: the Father, the Father that art's in heaven. Having that
• 7:22
  Speaker 1: relationship with his son, having that Holy Spirit come in.
• 7:27
  Speaker 1: And I'm not trying to make this rhyme. I'm not
• 7:29
  Speaker 1: trying to boast in my ability to be able to
• 7:33
  Speaker 1: break down the Bible. This is all glory to God, Amen,
• 7:37
  Speaker 1: because at the end of the day, I am no
• 7:40
  Speaker 1: better than you that is listening to this episode. The
• 7:45
  Speaker 1: difference between me and those that just believe is that
• 7:50
  Speaker 1: I am all of my heart, all of my mind,
• 7:55
  Speaker 1: all of my soul is seeking the Lord Jesus Christ

  Speaker 1: and being around those like minded people. God will put
• 8:05
  Speaker 1: the right people in your path as long as that
• 8:07
  Speaker 1: you are seeking Him on the narrow path. So when
• 8:13
  Speaker 1: we get into verse eleven, I want you to keep
• 8:15
  Speaker 1: an open mind because we're going to close out here soon.
• 8:17
  Speaker 1: Where are we at on time? I got eight minutes? Okay,
• 8:24
  Speaker 1: this is going to be probably the most important part
• 8:31
  Speaker 1: of the episode, So please listen. Verse eleven. The person
• 8:35
  Speaker 1: among you who is most important will be your servant.
• 8:40
  Speaker 1: Verse twelve. Some people lift themselves up to be important,
• 8:45
  Speaker 1: but God will bring them down low. Other people are humble.
• 8:50
  Speaker 1: God will lift up those people to a good place.
• 8:58
  Speaker 1: Being as if we have this free will right. God

  Speaker 1: didn't create us as robots now finding that balance and
• 9:09
  Speaker 1: being able to get closer to God and not look
• 9:14
  Speaker 1: down upon someone else right, or even look up to
• 9:17
  Speaker 1: your pastor as your God, or look up to an
• 9:21
  Speaker 1: inspirational speaker as somebody that is a God. There is
• 9:26
  Speaker 1: no idol besides the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

  Speaker 1: So let's get into it a little bit deeper. Jesus
• 9:34
  Speaker 1: warns the teachers of God's Law and the Pharisees. This
• 9:38
  Speaker 1: is Matthew chapter twenty three, verse thirteen. Jesus spoke to
• 9:41
  Speaker 1: the teachers of God's Law and the Pharisees. He said,
• 9:45
  Speaker 1: it will be very bad for you. You are hypocrites. You
• 9:48
  Speaker 1: have stopped people who wanted to go into the Kingdom
• 9:52
  Speaker 1: of Heaven. It is like you have shut the door
• 9:54
  Speaker 1: so that they cannot go in. Then you yourselves do
• 9:59
  Speaker 1: not even go in. So think about how the Pharisees,
• 10:07
  Speaker 1: they just took over what God intended them to let
• 10:13
  Speaker 1: others come in and be a hospital for sinners. And
• 10:21
  Speaker 1: they made it their own little gathering, and took what
• 10:27
  Speaker 1: God gave for everybody and kept it to themselves. And
• 10:30
  Speaker 1: they didn't them themselves, didn't even want to go in
• 10:34
  Speaker 1: they just stand outside and sit outside. So when we
• 10:38
  Speaker 1: close out here, I want you to realize that Jesus
• 10:41
  Speaker 1: is a spiritual being. The Pharisees are the religious beings. Okay,
• 10:46
  Speaker 1: there is a difference between spirituality and religious very very
• 10:53
  Speaker 1: two different things. And you have time today. As I
• 11:00
  Speaker 1: get closer to closing out, I want you to just
• 11:05
  Speaker 1: keep an open mind. When I go to verse fourteen
• 11:08
  Speaker 1: and fifteen will closing out. It will be very bad
• 11:12
  Speaker 1: for you. Teachers of Gods law and Pharisees. You are hypocrites.
• 11:19
  Speaker 1: You take things away from women after their husbands have died.
• 11:23
  Speaker 1: You pray for a long time so that other people
• 11:25
  Speaker 1: will praise you. God will punish you much more than
• 11:28
  Speaker 1: other people. It will be very bad for you. Teachers
• 11:33
  Speaker 1: of God's Law and Pharisees. You are hypocrites. You travel
• 11:36
  Speaker 1: far across land and see you do this to make
• 11:40
  Speaker 1: one person believe what you believe. Then when he does
• 11:44
  Speaker 1: believe your ideas, he becomes worse than you are. He
• 11:48
  Speaker 1: shows that he belongs to Hell even more than you do.
• 11:54
  Speaker 1: And a lot of these churches are doing that these days.
• 11:57
  Speaker 1: A lot of these churches is I have three minutes
• 11:59
  Speaker 1: to close out. I want to make this a little
• 12:09
  Speaker 1: bit lighter because at the end of the day, everybody
• 12:16
  Speaker 1: has had a chance. Before it's all said and done,
• 12:20
  Speaker 1: the real revelation, everybody has had a chance to accept
• 12:23
  Speaker 1: Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior. And being
• 12:26
  Speaker 1: able to pray individually, and then pray with my significant
• 12:33
  Speaker 1: other and pray with people of my church, and to pray.
• 12:39
  Speaker 1: You see how I keep saying pray because Jesus would
• 12:42
  Speaker 1: go away and he would go and pray to his
• 12:45
  Speaker 1: father and spend time with his father. I encourage you
• 12:49
  Speaker 1: to do that today. Take time to not put people, places,
• 12:54
  Speaker 1: and things on a pedestal. Take time, even if you
• 12:59
  Speaker 1: don't want to, even if you don't feel it, even
• 13:01
  Speaker 1: if you don't think it. Put on some worship music,
• 13:05
  Speaker 1: whatever gendre you like. Praise Jesus, tell him honestly how
• 13:12
  Speaker 1: you really feel, what you are really thinking, Ask him
• 13:15
  Speaker 1: into your heart, and remember, no matter where you were
• 13:23
  Speaker 1: at on your spiritual level, no one is better than
• 13:27
  Speaker 1: no one. Let me say that again, no one is
• 13:30
  Speaker 1: better than no one. Let that sink in. And the
• 13:40
  Speaker 1: more and more that you work on that relationship with Jesus,
• 13:43
  Speaker 1: the more and more that the relationships around you will
• 13:47
  Speaker 1: flourish no matter where it started from where God will
• 13:53
  Speaker 1: take it. Where you are weak, he or He is strong.
• 13:56
  Speaker 1: He comes in. Spirit comes in. No matter what you
• 14:01
  Speaker 1: are thinking, no matter what you are feeling about your partner.
• 14:04
  Speaker 1: Bring it to God. Let him throw it in the
• 14:07
  Speaker 1: sea of forgetfulness. Remember that you are not alone even
• 14:13
  Speaker 1: when you feel alone. Feeling lonely is a tug at
• 14:20
  Speaker 1: your heart to either get out in mother nature to
• 14:24
  Speaker 1: enjoy what God has given or have a conversation with
• 14:29
  Speaker 1: Jesus himself through the Holy Spirit. And that's what I
• 14:34
  Speaker 1: believe in my journey. I have twenty five seconds. I
• 14:38
  Speaker 1: want to thank the listener repressing play. I want to

  Speaker 1: give glory to God for the remainder of my days.

  Speaker 1: do that and continue to consistently. Consistency is key if

  Speaker 1: you want to see the Kingdom of heaven as well.
