- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: If you're not all about that, like truly this bookshelf has got to go my mom and I were just talking about it that we're going to see if we can this wall that you can't see over here.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but bookshelves over here because this one, if this bookshelf even sneezes, it is coming down, humbling down.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_02]: Anybody sneezes near the bookshelf.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's coming down.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_02]: If there's a sneeze in the context of any of these books, it's, but I just love that the bookshelf itself could sneeze.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like we're in the beast.
- 1:25[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, oh yeah, exactly, but like anything because my mom she had moved it to get into that closet and I asked her if she could help me move it back because it's quite It's quite difficult to do so because there's books at the top of it as well and I heard her moving it because I was downstairs and I was like, oh my gosh, the next sound Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think so too.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's the shortest one of them, which doesn't mean anything though February.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like this is like a type A or just like anyone who likes a satisfied number like a calendar because the first of February is on a Sunday and a last of February.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: It was Saturday.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: So it feels so good.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's so satisfying.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: I love that everything feels like it clicks into place and we're not going to see that for a while.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: So the fact that this is happening.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's gorgeous.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: Very beautiful.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: I love it so much But February of course means Valentine's Day and it is our fifth annual Gilmore Valentine coming up.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: I can't believe it.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, season five The first one was accidental.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: We were just like let's have a fun time We were like a three and a half hour episode that I will never forget that episode
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: Never.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like it.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really remember it much, but I remember the circumstances around it.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: We were in our jammies.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think I was in my robe actually.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: I was in my robe right now.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_02]: You were in your big fluffy robe and you had like bright pink eyeshadow on.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: I did.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: I was in my pink eyeshadow era, too.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: Left that one right quick.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, it was such long episode.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: It took me so long to edit because I really paired it down because I was like, I actually, we can't release a three hour long episode.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of want to revisit it now and maybe let our Patreon members.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: The world eats.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: But it was one of our first ones and we didn't realize that it would be such a love to a beloved app.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: So after that we turned it into a bit of an event.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: We did it together in New York and person streaming it, of course.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: And then every year since we have done it live stream.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: But this year we have an in-person event which we mentioned last week at the New Romantics in Orlando.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: It is a so exciting night girl dinner.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: Which my mom said, what's girl dinner?
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: come on mom and what she meant was she was like what do you guys doing for a girl dinner she was like I know what girl dinner is but I was like you know we'll have to see some savory some beaves of course love but space is limited so be sure to get your ticket ASAP it is the event is next Friday it's on gallantine today which is a Friday so like so exciting
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: couldn't have been more perfect for a Friday night girl than her, so perfect.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have a live show, but if you've been to one of our live shows, especially in Ann Arbor, they're kind of the dream of anyone who has ever listened to the podcast and wanted to talk back to us.

- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: we're partnering with teleties so you will have some fun acuity, teleties goodies in your gift bag.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: I love teleties.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you've ever used them.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_02]: No, I haven't, but you speak so highly of them.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: I adore them.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: They're flat clips.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: They're so perfect if you drive because you shouldn't be driving with a claw clip because it'll...
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: Go right.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: If you get in a car accident, bad news bears, but black clip.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: You can like lay on the couch.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: You're like Bling in bed a lot.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: I like sometimes I will forget that I'm like wearing them when I go to sleep because they're so comfortable They just cannot was a brush that has a mirror on the back and a little bit Yes, you showed a teletime show it to me when you were here last week.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_02]: I love sex with that.

- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be your friends.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: But again, we'll be there.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: We will make friends.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: Your friends will be there.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: Hello.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: So you were meeting up with your friends there.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: No worries.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: Mandy was like, how many tickets should I buy for me in cattle?
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Is he count as one or is it one and a half?
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, I don't...
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if anyone wants the baby there, but like I told her that and she was like He's your best friend.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: Does he want to be there?
- 6:17[SPEAKER_02]: Of course we want him there.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: Of course we want him there.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: But Oh my gosh, you haven't met him, but he lives nearby.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: We will of course, he will be there, but we're going to have so much fun.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so excited.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: We've never done this in person before, so I just, I can't wait.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: And we're trying to make it, like, as feel as special as it feels to us for y'all too.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: but yeah I'm I'm just really excited and I hope that you are too and I hope that all of our little Florida girlies all come out and come down to new romantics.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah me too.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: That'll be a lot of fun.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_02]: So you can visit the link in our show notes to get tickets again spaces limited so make sure you get them ASAP if you plan to come but we will also be holding a virtual event on
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: Saturday night, if you can't make it to, it's never means in Florida.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_02]: Not everybody lives in Florida famously.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: You mean, you're actually a part-time dude.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: Part-time.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_02]: So we're really excited to host another virtual event.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: We have some plans for that, but we have an iron out all the details yet.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_02]: You can go to our Patreon and buy your ticket, though, if you plan on coming to our virtual event.

- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: be your Valentine.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to be your Valentine.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, and if you've come to a Gilmour Valentine event in the past, like, one of our lives, it's going to be a lot like that.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_02]: It's just going to be like a giant slumber party with your pals.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: Just hanging out and having a good time and we'll be together.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: So that'll be really funny because we'll have been together the night before.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: So it's just like a double dose.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: So if you come in person, you can still come virtually.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're going to be different in person.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_02]: They are going to be two different events.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: They're very different events, but yeah, yeah, you can buy a ticket on our Patreon for the virtual event on the 14th.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: But if you want to come to the event in person at the new Romantics, you can find the link to buy tickets on our show notes or in the links on our Instagram.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's going to be a lot of fun.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be a fun girl in there.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: I can't wait.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so excited.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_02]: I love a girl dinner.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let us know if you're coming.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, sweetie.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, let us know if you're coming.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: Please, oh my gosh.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: But on the topic of a Gilmore Valentine, like I said, we're kind of kicking off the month of February with some chatter about love and who says love more than Luke Danes.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_02]: So see, does he say love?
- 8:35[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the book that he listens to does.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it does.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: Love.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: We look like one of our favorite things to say with the last couple of months.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: I posted something on my story recently.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: Someone was asking you to write for something and I don't remember what it was.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'll have to go back and find it because someone responded to it and they're like, this is kind of like written in the style of Luke's self-help book and I was like, not know, you're not wrong.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, wait, is that my writing style?
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: Love.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: Love, you narrated the book.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_03]: What if I love it?
- 9:06[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_02]: But one of the questions that kept coming up as we were watching on Patreon at the end of 2024 into the beginning of last year when we were doing Gilmore revisited was, you know, about Luke Daines and his famous quote in written in the star season five episode three.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_02]: I am all in it's famous.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_02]: It is.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_02]: kind of what Team Luke stands in.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's like the foundation of Team Wack is that he's all in on the Raleigh Gilmore and there are a lot of ways in which I believe that's true, but we wanted to pose the question of whether or not he truly was all in.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: Whether it's at that time or throughout the duration of their relationship because obviously their relationship faces a lot of hurdles, has a lot of ups and downs and we started to question whether or not that was true.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_02]: Whether Luke really was all in because as you move into season six and everything unfolds there with his
- 9:57[SPEAKER_02]: discovery of April, his relationship with Anna and them trying to co-parent things really, really take a turn for Luke and Moralian.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_02]: It does beg the question of whether or not Luke Dane's was really all in.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: And upon asking that question was he really all in?
- 10:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, until he's not.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: Is that your final answer?
- 10:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's not necessarily my final answer.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_02]: I want to kind of talk through
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I put up a poll for our besties and like they came through.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: They came through.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_02]: Of course they did.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: I love y'all.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: Some of so I put up a couple of different slides on her stories for our besties.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: I did a poll asking was Luke really all in.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: I asked for you to explain why or why not, depending on how you fell.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: And then I asked you what it meant to be all in.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: and a very long question.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: I really want to know what you think about this, especially as someone who is in a very similar circumstance to Luke, not that you have a daughter, but that you are recently engaged and you were headed towards forever, which is what I think when he said all in, that's kind of what he was being like, hey, this is always, this is I'm down.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm, yeah, this is the long haul for
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think about 8,000 people responded to this.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: So 18% said yes, absolutely.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: 28% said he didn't know what all in meant when he said it.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: 2% said absolutely not at all.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: 53% said he thought he was but he wasn't consistent.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: Hmm.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, which to me says intention isn't followed through.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I'm inclined to agree with the 53%, actually the second option you gave I think is a better description.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't know all in meant when he said it.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yes, it's kind of somewhere in between those two to four.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's both of those together.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_02]: I agree, because I do think it is very, very easy given the circumstances from which Lorelighten Luke came to this point and written in the stars.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_02]: And even before that, you know, in the season 4 finale, beginning of season 5 when they were like, okay, we're going to do this.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to date.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_02]: There's so much build up.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_02]: There's so much left.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_02]: to the imagination of what their relationship is going to be for them for the characters within the narrative and for the audience.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that when Luke says I am all in, what he's really saying to her is this is not casual for me.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: I am 10 toes down, serious about seeing this through and making this work with you.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I think he meant.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it is very easy to say those things.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_02]: When your feelings are, you know, brimming at the surface, you are finally seeing something through that you have been envisioning, imagining romanticizing for a very long time as he has, as I'm sure she has, but him more so keeping the horoscope, everything he describes leading up to this point that brought them here together.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think romanticizing that, it is so easy to be like,
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: And that's why I say he was all in until he wasn't.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's one of our best he said almost that.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: That she took it as he didn't want to just stay.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: He was telling her of his intention to be with her forever and letting her know he was ready to commit.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like that, this wasn't just like, they weren't just starting to date.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: This was like the future for him.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: And I think a lot of what our best he said of what it means to be all in.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: is kind of along those lines.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think that it's hard when you go on like your first real date to be like, I am unconditionally prioritizing you, but like, because that's what a lot of the answers here were about what all it means.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that if you're going to express that sentiment to someone who you just showed an eight year old Horoscope to, which some people
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: That was like wait.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: What?
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I was at the fortune the fortune.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: That's the horoscope.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: The horoscope.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: The horoscope.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: I've got it.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: For that whole area.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what that is.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: But I was like, do I not know?
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm a girls reference.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I do.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: But it's hard.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's like to have like just heard someone be like, I have been waiting for you for eight years and now I'm here and I'm not going to let this go to not like of course he meant like I'm ready to make this work with you like I'm all in I'm not leaving
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: but it that carries so much weight and a lot of what Arbassi said I feel really fits with what the should have meant of like you put them first communicating through things fully committed to the ups and downs giving and taking and being a hundred percent honest which I don't think that Luke really knew how to do at this point in time.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think he met sticking through it no matter if you have this was not the one I meant to read.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: These are what cracked me up because some of them they start off really strong like what I just did where it's sticking with it no matter if you have a surprise kid or not.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like some of them are so fair.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: Wholeheartedly invest in even if you find out you have a 12-year-old.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_00]: Letting your partner know ASAP if you have a kid even if you didn't know at the start of a relationship.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like some of them just were killing you.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: But here's the thing is that I'm trying to think of this as if we don't know because he doesn't know.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_02]: what is to come.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: And so trying to strip ourselves from the narrative that is to come and only focus on what has happened up until written in the stars.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: I really believe that he believed 10 toes down in on you.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, when you think of I am all in, that phrase is usually like heavily associated with like poker.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm all in.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_02]: All my chips are in, are you all in too?
- 15:43[SPEAKER_02]: And he doesn't really ask her that when he says that to her.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: He asks her if she's gay or so.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's gay or if she's
- 16:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I was like, what, but, you know, when you, when you make a choice like that in poker and the game of poker and you push all of your chips in, I'm all in, you are so confident in the hand you're holding.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_02]: And I really do think that Luke felt that way when he said it.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_02]: And given all of the evidence up until that point, everything that happened between the two of them, both of their relationships, not working out with other people, leading them to this moment.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think he was like, I am all in on you.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: There is no one else that I want to, like,
- 16:47[SPEAKER_02]: hold hands with Stan Tentos down with and take this leap with.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_02]: I just want to jump.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, every time you say Tentos down, I imagine the Xperia feet.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I just don't like it.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_02]: You're like stop, put your socks back on.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: You famously love your socks, Luke.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: Put your socks back on.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: I just shoes on, I don't like it.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_00]: But no, I think that it kind of has to be a balance.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: of I think that a lot of where this came from was the fantasy of being with Laura Lie, because I don't think that he ever envisioned like the reality of what that was going to be day in and day out of being with this like high energy person who came from this high drama family, because I'd be even harking back to when he's giving advice to Jess about how you like relate to
- 17:39[SPEAKER_00]: This was an interesting song when they have a boat like their yours too.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_02]: Like this is you just have to go along with it Yeah, I remember exactly what he said, but that was the sentiment to the effect of like this girl like the family comes with the girl Yeah, we're referring to worry and it's fascinating that when I say Luke was all in until he wasn't the until he wasn't part is about Loura's family
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: But see that's what doesn't make sense to me.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_00]: Is because, like, I think that he was all in on the fantasy of being with the war lie.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: He was all in on love and seeing her face and like her being there when, cause like, that's another thing is like, I feel like the love book I'd have.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: I really wanna go back and like really analyze everything that was set there because it feels really like self-focused of like, who do you see when you need someone?
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: Who do you see when this person like, when struggle arises for you?
- 18:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like, who do you wanna be there at the end of the day?
- 18:29[SPEAKER_00]: And he sees her face.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: And so like thinking about the past relationship with Rachel and with Nicole and kind of how those didn't work out, he sees Laura lie that like, he's convinced that it will on the basis of nothing.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they've been from friendship.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: On friendship, of course, he's been there for her, but I think I've been more so that in the experience of being in a relationship with someone, which is very different, very different, and so like it's really on the basis of being friends, and it really does feel like a fantasy of like, I'm all in, I love you, I only see your face, but at the first sight, I don't know what I'm talking about, I don't know what I'm talking about, I don't know what I'm talking about, I don't know what I'm talking about, I don't know what I'm talking about, I don't know what I'm talking about, I don't know what I'm talking about, I don't know what I'm talking about, I don't know what I'm talking about, I don't know what I'm talking about, I don't know what I'm talking about, I don't know what I'm talking about, I don't know what I'm talking about, I don't know what I'm
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: of conflict that is really tested, which is telling me that like he was all in on what he thought.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: It was going to be despite the fact that he had the expectation, obviously from Swan Song that like your family is, or her family was coming with like part of the package, and he'd just like kind of bounced.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that the I am all in is really focused on the I.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't disagree with you.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_02]: I think that for him for Luke.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_02]: He knew exactly what he said to Jess in season three.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_02]: He was very fully aware of that.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_02]: And we see that in you jump high jump jack when he's fully prepared to say, yeah, book it.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: Book it.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: I'm in.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna meet your family.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I know that they want to remake me.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_02]: Comes with the territory.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do it.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_02]: And I think he thought he was fully equipped to handle it until he couldn't.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, until he realized that it was going to go beyond the scope of like, all right, I can handle your mom.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: I can handle your dad.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_02]: He wasn't prepared to handle the scheming that would happen behind the scenes, which, to be fair, I don't think a lot of people would, but I think that, I don't know.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_02]: I have a lot of thoughts.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_02]: I know that our attention here is to kind of go through the pros and the cons of whether or not Luke Daines was truly all in on
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: a little pro con list like I can get into it all.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and I don't want to get ahead of ourselves.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to get ahead of ourselves, but like I do want to bounce back just before we get into her pro con list, which I can't believe we've never really made a full pro con list on the podcast before.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, crazy.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: But there was one more answer of what does it mean to be all in and a response that I wanted to read that I just made me laugh so hard because the question was, what does it mean to be all in?
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: And their response was, will there be more seasons?
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: To which I said, oh, no.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_02]: Will there be more seasons?
- 21:02[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I guess, yeah, that is a question.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: It is a question, but it was a counter.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_00]: I have some a question they asked me when back.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I was just like, okay, it was a counter.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: It was a counter question, but that really made me laugh.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you guys had me laughing.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if that one was intentionally.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: A he-he-ha-ha, but I did he-he, and I did ha-ha.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: But our bestiest did submit a lot of reasons for they didn't know we were making a pro-conlist I just kind of asked explain why or why not keep us all in and I will maybe fill them in as we go along with our pro-conlist I'm feeling we'll probably have a lot of the same
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think we well, because I went through, and I made a list called Evidence, because I am, I don't know, I've been in this, like, to text this street detective area, yeah.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: I've been reading a lot of 1940s, mystery novels, so like, I know, get my little mind if I can go out.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like a original Gammart Barley girl, magnifying glass, but I have a list of Evidence for the pro-conlist that I went through, and I fast forward through all of season five and six last night, only watching the Luke scenes, which was a weird way to watch Gammart girls, definitely.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: Why not try it out.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: See how it goes.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: I will say if you were like a big Luke fan and you will not hear any criticism You will not hear anything bad about your man
- 22:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you want to keep listening.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's good.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: I like to hear when people disagree with us.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: I love to hear them.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_00]: I actually, actually, I can be honest.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_00]: I prefer when people disagree.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's very fun.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, how's that?
- 22:34[SPEAKER_00]: When I get a voicemail on someone agrees, I'm like, wait, I can't respond to this, because you agree.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, oh, come on.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, tell us that.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: Totally.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: So we really started it with written in the stars.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: is self-explanatory.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's a lot of evidence there, but I think until the moment she says, I am all in, that's where we're starting here.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: This is very, that's a very notable comment that like if you don't remember the written in the star's moment that we're referencing, season five episode three, their first date at Sniffy's tavern.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_00]: He gives it the horoscope.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: He says, I'm out this thing, you and me.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_00]: I just want you to know I'm in, I'm all in.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what he says.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: And then he says, are you scared?
- 23:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I go a little, a, well, just a little.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_00]: And she doesn't say anything.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: Which famously, a few episodes from then, is an episode called, say something.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: But this is a luke moment.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: And now we are going to make a pro-conlist, deciding if he was really all in.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_02]: I have a pretty even amount on each you side.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_02]: I do.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, and I was surprised because my pro list was very, very long as I was going in through season five.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I didn't even put my into list yet.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I just have evidence box ready to put them into separate lists.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_00]: So do you want to go chronologically?
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: So let's go climb.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_00]: I made my chronologically actually.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: That worked.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: So when written in the stars, after he gives her the horoscope, shows it to her that he's been keeping it in his wallet and asks her, you know, if she's scared.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_02]: Famously.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_02]: They go back.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a con.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: Is that a con?
- 24:11[SPEAKER_00]: I say I love you and I want to be with you forever.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_00]: Are you scared?
- 24:14[SPEAKER_02]: Are you scared?
- 24:16[SPEAKER_02]: Are you scared?
- 24:16[SPEAKER_02]: Is this scary?
- 24:17[SPEAKER_02]: But after that, you know, we go back to Luke's place.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_02]: how little fun together, and he asks her what CDs he should get.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, that's a pro.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, oh, okay.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_02]: What CDs should I get?
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: See, I was trying to decide if like moments like these, like really put into I'm all in, you know what?
- 24:40[SPEAKER_00]: I actually take that back.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: Because I was like, some of these feel like bare minimum dating, you know, you're just becoming interested in things I'm interested in.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_00]: But I feel like for Luke, who is not like a music god, like that's not true.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: He loves Jimmy Buffet.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's so mellow.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's so mellow.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_00]: Right, some people Jimmy Buffet, you know?
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: But I feel like for Luke.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: to like go out of his way and like do this for lower lie.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's showing he's all in on her because he's not going to do this for anyone else.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: No, so I think that that's a pro.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I'll put three CD preferences.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, pro.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_02]: Later in the episode, they also have the town meeting where Taylor brings to everybody's attention that Luke and lower lie are dating.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I love the way he stands up.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_02]: He's standing up for both of them.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: He's not just standing up for four.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: He literally stands up.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: more like yeah but he's standing up for both of them.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: He's standing up to Taylor on behalf of both of them but what I love that he does after doing so is he goes to her and he says you still want to do this and she goes absolutely like I love that he's like this isn't going to determine
- 25:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because Laura likes the one that's like, maybe they have a point.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, stop it.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: No, they don't.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're doing this, you know?
- 25:53[SPEAKER_00]: Well, in that like same regard, I guess we'll just put that whole moment that that time meeting is that when he stands up and He's like telling them all off.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's like my relationship.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's not with you with you with you, and she like not their head.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_00]: It was like so scary for you.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_00]: But he says, fine, you don't have to divide the town between pink and blue.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_00]: If we break up, I'll leave town and the whole town can be pink.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: Because like, he's lived here his whole life.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: But like, I think it's probably just like an in-the-moment sort of thing.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't have any intention of leaving her.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_00]: But I think it's the idea of like, this town means so much to her.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna leave.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'll go.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_00]: I will obviously have been the problem.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm an abounce.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: So like, we've solved that.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_00]: Does I fall after one that he doesn't?
- 26:37[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't sound.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_00]: Do we see seven?
- 26:40[SPEAKER_00]: Seven?
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: He.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_00]: But for on-tons and purposes.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_00]: At this point in time, he does believe that he's going to give him to lower life.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's all about her.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_00]: All in on her.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_00]: He's all in on her even when he's gone.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be pink even when.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like in that time, he should have been wearing a pink ribbon.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's true.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just going to put town of Star's Hollow V. Daines and more.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to put down Tip of canoe and Taylor too and the fact that he lets her kind of take over his diner.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think he would have done that whether they were friends or I think so too.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: So I didn't see it that.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_02]: I just find didn't include it either.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's a great moment, but I think that it's one that we've seen before, now they're just dating.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like she would have worn them down either way.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: But in Pippie Virgin, I know that it's a little cringy to watch, but I feel like when Luke gets really angry with Dean and the Bop and he's looking at your face.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_02]: I do think, excellent.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_02]: I do think that that is him being protective of Rory, which in turn is being all in on the Rory.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think that being all in on Rory, Rory live would have been being respectful to Dean and not causing such a scene because it really upset Rory?
- 28:01[SPEAKER_02]: It did upset Rory and he felt horrible.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_02]: I am protective over these women and this is a man who I don't think has the best intentions surrounding and he says as much in I think Emily says hello like after the parties over when like when he's like you know, hurry broke up and he's like
- 28:24[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, okay, you're gloting and he's like, I'm not gloting.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I never thought he was good for her.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_02]: Period.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he's very honest about that.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: So I guess we can mold that into one.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_02]: I just think him being all in on Rory is a pro in the direction.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think that he was that way when they were friends.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: He was always all in on protecting Rory, but at the same time, I think that that is something that he exemplified over any one of normalized other suitors, including Rory's own father.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_00]: including and especially Christopher Hayden you just had to add it in just like as I'm going through this rewatch with the rewatch club I just hate it and even more this rewatch it is oh man I know it comes on screen just like oh I saw Christopher street when I was on the train the
- 29:14[SPEAKER_02]: we can hold off on this and really put it into the pro category when we get to the end of season five.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_00]: See, that's kind of how I feel.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_00]: Because I agree 100% with the sentiment.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think in this moment, we kind of gives me the egg.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, okay, here is being a little too much and like, probably let his ego and his frustration with Dean on a personal level take over.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_02]: But I do think that was in the name of for ego more.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_00]: I also feel like it was like, I wish this had been in the narrative that it was in part because of Dean at his apartment before Dean's wedding.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_02]: And he does kind of speak to that, but not as specifically as he's an audience, but like for him to love to really have that come back around.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm kind of embarrassed for him.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_00]: And like part of me wanted to put it in a con because I'm like, dude, you're kind of being weird.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_00]: But it's not, it's not not being all in.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 30:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like, I kind of put it in a con for Lou himself.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're totally.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: You're being a bit much my man.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_00]: I mean to be fair to me.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's been a lot too, but he watched.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: Should we do pop it at Valentine's Day?
- 30:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like maybe two people were like team just team Dean maybe I don't know and they have to play pop it.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, that's fun.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_00]: I know that's gonna happen.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_00]: First we'll have to get a pop it.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure I have one in my house.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was going to say, well, we'll find one.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_00]: Kathy, you go to a garage sale.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, definitely.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, the next one I have is you jump by jump jack.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: He is so down.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: This is what I was talking about earlier.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: He is so down to re-meat Emily, and it's so funny the way.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but I love that Laura like comes in and she's like, is there a cloud above my head?
- 30:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and was that a drop?
- 30:47[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, what's the big deal?
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: Because this is part of he literally says meeting the parents comes with the territory and she is so like No, you Josh do this.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_02]: He said book it.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_02]: She goes, okay, but if you change your mind I'm not going to change my mind book it.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, make the call and then jump cut to We're there and then they're there and he tolerates the fact that Emily is insulting him the whole time And like when but when at first he doesn't realize it and she's like no, I said Douggy poopy
- 31:12[SPEAKER_00]: about his diner, rustic diner, and like by the end of it, he said, she never actually said anything bad, but he's still like, okay, he didn't put up with it, and he still goes out with Richard.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_00]: This is what I mean, it's like he still puts up with it, because he's quite eager to go to the center, feel side-swept, like a hit and run after this sort of Emily Gilmore treatment.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_00]: But when he gets called, he still goes to golf,
- 31:41[SPEAKER_00]: When Richard Gilmore's assistant calls upon him, he still goes, he could have just not gone.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_00]: He could have had lower-light get him out of it, like she wanted to, but he was like, I'm going golfing.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_00]: And boy did he ever?
- 31:53[SPEAKER_02]: Boy did he ever?
- 31:54[SPEAKER_02]: And he lets...
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: Richard set all of these things up for him.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like he's got a lot dealer.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a rare coin guy.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_00]: Rare coin guy.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to franchise.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_00]: He's getting someone to shave him.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's wasted out here at the driving range, having bought like a golf clubs that are the price of a car, he said.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_00]: So he can get better for the next game.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_00]: Why is he doing this?
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: Because he's all in on the rely.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: Also probably he's not doing this for a toast.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's also a little drunk.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_00]: But then he was like, can we never hang out with your parents again?
- 32:24[SPEAKER_00]: He learned this lesson.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_00]: He said to be learned, but he was so, it's fine.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_00]: He was down until he didn't ever want to be down again, but he did understandably so.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_00]: Even when she said no, don't it?
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you're going to regret this.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_00]: He was like, you know, you're being dramatic, which like, you have sat there, my dude.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_00]: for four whole seasons and listen to this woman complain about her parents every instance every turn you have heard about it and you're like yeah it's gonna be great she's been she was being a lot no no no no no I just think it's more over the he's like I can handle it like I was saying at the beginning I think he was like I got this I'm your man yeah yeah
- 33:07[SPEAKER_00]: It comes with a dirty handle it.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_00]: He did.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_00]: Did it go well?
- 33:11[SPEAKER_00]: Fraunton's in purposes?
- 33:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but he wasn't the problem.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_00]: It was the problem she anticipated.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to put parents.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, meeting the parents.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's two separate instances, honestly.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_02]: We meeting the parents.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_00]: Three meeting Emily, getting shaved.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: Here we go.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's a shave me.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: Moving into Emily says hello.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: This is the episode where Christopher and Laura like at lunch and she doesn't tell him, she tells him directly in the sense that she makes mention of Christopher and Laurie at lunch.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_00]: Because she tries to tell a joke and she's like, oh, this also didn't land when I told Laurie and Christopher.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but she doesn't intentionally.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_02]: Because worry says something to the effect of like is Luka okay with the fact that you had lunch with dad and she's like yeah He's fine with it and tell Suki like I lied to my kid and she's like I don't know why I didn't tell Luke I guess I just didn't think about it And so she tells him very casually and he does react but I don't know like it There is he just say okay, okay, okay, and he kind of waits to actually have a reaction until he has a conversation with TJ Which I think is a good lag
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: Who else are you going to go to for your emotional support?
- 34:25[SPEAKER_00]: DJ!
- 34:26[SPEAKER_00]: DJ!
- 34:26[SPEAKER_00]: Just gotten tired.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_00]: My man, my man, my man.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_02]: But what I do think is a weird like makes it a beige flag kind of delivery is that when they're out later in the evening.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_02]: and he does say to go closer to like yellow like like virgin on darker than beige because what what Luke says to Laura lie after he drops her off after the day is he's like oh and by the way I just want to know I'm fine with you having lunch with Christopher.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: And I always told my head at that moment, because I'm like, I don't know, she needed your permission.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know she needed your permission or approval.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_00]: You had, there was no instance that you said anything otherwise when Laura goes, okay, and like kind of just goes back into the house.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: I would like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, how did you get to the scene, Clim?
- 35:13[SPEAKER_00]: This is exactly.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_00]: Out of left field, but not for him because he had just had a conversation with TJ, and he presented the hypotheticals, of course, so TJ thought that Liz was seeing someone else naturally.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_02]: And art, art, well that's like art, love, love, I love them, but yeah it's, I don't think it's quite a con, I don't think so either it teeters on the like it sits somewhere in between for me because like I love the fact that he is like, I'm not going to react to this, I am instead going to like have this conversation with someone else, I don't think it was necessarily planned that way.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_02]: He sat with his feelings, he didn't react until he was like, oh, by the way, I just want to like, you know, I'm fine with it.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_02]: But that made it kind of like a weird baseball.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_00]: I would even say yellow because like you ended at this conclusion on your own.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't like when you come with me with fully forms conclusions of things that I didn't know.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_00]: You felt I need certain way about like, let me let me let me join in like, I'm all for like getting some advice from pals, especially as a pal who likes hearing the problems of other people.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like with the Michael's friends and chatting about them and like letting you get like your piece be told But I do think that at the end of the day like the processing that happened also kind of has to backtrack and happen a little bit with your partner I agree and if you come just like yeah, I'm okay with it now.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_00]: Well now I'm now I'd feel very weird and strange So I would like not quite a con, but it's never anywhere close to the pro Yeah, and anyway moving into but not as cute as push can where he has his dark day
- 36:49[SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate that he gets deep with her and shares with her why he has a dark day because she didn't even know about it.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's when he lashes out at her when she gets all the stuff and he says to her, you have no respect for what I want.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_02]: Is really, and I know he apologizes for it.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_02]: He does.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, but it kind of reminds me of in early season two and Hammer's Enveilsman Dean and Roy have that fight and he's like,
- 37:12[SPEAKER_02]: I don't, I could care less about Harvard, and they get into this kind of like back and forth about not spending time together, and then he comes to her and apologizes, it's like I'm glad that you saw the error of your ways, but I don't love what you said to her.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I kind of put that in a con because it's like, I know that she did something that you didn't necessarily ask her to do, but the intensity was good.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_00]: She was trying to take care of you and in doing that, you remained to her.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_00]: So that's really the first one I put in con was like, oh, yeah, that's of what I have so far that is I'm putting that there as well.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_02]: But then when we get to women of questionable morals in the next episode, I mean, fantastic episode.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_02]: This is when he builds for the ice skating ring, because she is having a really difficult relationship with snow.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_00]: And he heals her relationship with snow.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_00]: So that's so beautiful.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_00]: I started that out with he allows himself to get dragged out of bed.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's the forecast.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_00]: What does he say, Vinnie and Kim are idiots?
- 38:11[SPEAKER_00]: I forget what they're named.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_00]: But he like lets himself be like fallen to her little whims, which I think is cute and definitely a pro of being all in because I think it kind of fits into the CD preferences of like I've absolutely no interest in doing this with anyone but I will do it for you.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you are the person I'm all in it.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm all in for
- 38:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like I think that snow gays in snow snow sniffing it's it's also that and then like later when he is seeing how much she's like really falling out of love with this thing she dragged him out of bed for
- 38:50[SPEAKER_00]: and the middle of the night, whatever about it, like it's snow, like he doesn't care, but she's like, you know, someone she gets to the end and she was like, Jack Frost nipped my nose and she's just so excited.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: But he sees her fight physically.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_00]: She is fighting snow at one point in the episode and he watches it and he knows.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_00]: What the best thing to do is to try and heal her relationship, like men to her relationship with the one of her best fattens, snow, and build her an ice skating rink that she doesn't deserve.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_00]: But he makes it for her nonetheless.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_02]: Then we have, I think this is kind of like the end of the first chapter of, or we're nearing the end of the first iteration of Luke and Laura's relationship, because in come home, I love that he gets her the TV.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_00]: Again, something she has never had.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_00]: And this is entirely for her.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_02]: I putting the TV in his apartment so that she can watch TV.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_00]: Because he realized that she had read the oven manual.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of like, oh.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_00]: And like, again, I'm like, I'm not... She called it Kichlet, which I loved.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that there's this thing that I'm like trying not to be too like...
- 39:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, he's got her something to watch.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_00]: And like, yeah, the bar is on the floor sometimes, but like, I feel like in this case, like he did this intentionally for her, like just for her.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I think he also builds her shelf in that episode.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_00]: people on the bathroom, I think so.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_00]: This is when he says that stripe does not flavor.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I put it into the pro, even though it does feel a little bit like we're just, you know, dating.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like we're really given this man anything.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_02]: We don't have to live into the pro.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_00]: We can know I do like it in the
- 40:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's not something that he cares about and if it's for her he cares about it for her But yeah, which should be like a dating minimum.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 40:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard, but I agree I'm gonna put it there cuz when yeah, and then of course we move into wedding burblus which I didn't put anything for wedding burblus I didn't put anything
- 40:57[SPEAKER_00]: in pro or con for Luke because do you think that it was a con that he had to be that he wasn't like he wasn't willing to go at first I mean he ultimately went but like that cold open is like her wearing him down that's true go to the wedding value he was like I'm not going to your pants thing or like I'm trying to get out of your parents thing and like to be fair he was traumatized not a few episodes ago by both the people but he's like not really wanting to go he has to be convinced.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_00]: He does go and like it's barely takes him anything and she is you do not have to go to my parents thing and he was a fine I'll go And it really was just like the sheer anticipation of a weird out in the Yeah, it's out on that he had to be that he wasn't like let's go I don't want to do this but neither do you I don't think it's a pro.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's a con I think it exists somewhere in the middle if it was in your relationship
- 41:48[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I've seen it as a con.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's a difference, isn't it?
- 41:52[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_00]: I see it as a con, just because it feels like, just go, my man.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_00]: Just go.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_00]: If we're giving you prose for getting her TV, go to her parents thing.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're right.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 42:05[SPEAKER_02]: All right, I'll take it.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_02]: Unwilling, but he did go.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_02]: But he needed some armed twisting to go.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I get that.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like, go be your buffer.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_00]: You know how you know her family.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, totally.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_02]: I, the reason that the rest of the episode, which I think is the turning point for like, you know, this initial breakup that I didn't put anything in the pro-recon is because like, I understand that he needed to get out of the situation when things got super tense with Lorelie and Christopher and Bory and everything that happened there.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_02]: I understand why he was like, I have to get out of here.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_00]: I put it in a con.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_00]: They say left without her.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_00]: Having been in her right there.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_00]: That I agree with without saying anything to her.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_00]: That was my main point of contention with this man.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's like I totally understand every instance of him being annoyed that day.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_00]: Of like, Laura like said, be like, hey, I saw Christopher when his dad died and we went and got drunk.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't tell you about it until this morning.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_00]: Oh man, this is Chris.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_00]: you know Chris and it's like oh I would immediately feel like okay I already didn't want to be here but I came shackles up like I'm not feeling great and then yeah Chris comes in and he like starts you know I have some thoughts about the processing of it but I think at the end of the day it wasn't really anything loral I was doing I mean he was already kind of like a fish
- 43:23[SPEAKER_02]: I do think that he was very frustrated with her for not being truthful and honest with him and that I understand why he was like, all right, I got to get out of here as soon as Chris started being like, we belong together.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_02]: We belong together.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_02]: But I don't love that and this bleeds in to say something.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_02]: I don't love that Luke didn't give Laura like any agency.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_02]: He just was like,
- 43:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I put a concert here.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I agree.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_02]: I agree with that.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to give Luke this like, I don't want to make him feel like he was being a baby.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: Because I was like a big fan.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_00]: No, it was a big fan.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_00]: But like, but.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's right there.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with you.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_00]: It harkens back to that swansong advice that he gave to jazz, which like we can compare jazz and Luke in their instances in various ways and we will besties.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_00]: This is a whole long year.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's only February, but it's like your, it's a package deal.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that it gets misdirected like the energy of like, okay, you've known this woman for, let's go back to the
- 44:28[SPEAKER_00]: When has this woman ever taken what her mother said as like Bible?
- 44:32[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh my gosh, my mom thinks I should be with this man.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go be with this man.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like never even once.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I know that it's where he's father.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_00]: So like it has a different like connection, connotation, probably a different sort of like expectation around your feelings around it.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_00]: Because you like wonder, you've seen her be with this guy.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_00]: So like there is that kind of like,
- 44:52[SPEAKER_00]: concern or paranoia that exists there, but yeah, he knew her family was crazy and it was overwhelming and I think the proper response was Probably to be like drive her home drop her off and be like I just need a second like that was a lot But yeah, totally talk me and talk to my own because like the way he should have responded to that when like hey your family was Crazy last night and tried to ruin your life
- 45:17[SPEAKER_00]: like this was this was like a step back of like Luke was like they are trying to ruin things for me like he really internalized that and like this was a me thing rather than being like hey your mom is scheming with your daughter's father to be together
- 45:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, how do you feel about that?
- 45:36[SPEAKER_00]: She's trying to ruin her life.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_00]: Totally true.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that was more of like where he should have gone.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: If this was an emotionally healthy show.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, of course.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_02]: And we love it.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_02]: And they needed to cause a little rift, but within the narrative.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't think that he reacted super appropriately.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_02]: And again, for me it really bleeds into say something.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's when we get there.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_00]: That I think he shouldn't have left her, but then when we get to say something, he's just like shutting her out.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God, it makes me, and you know this episode, this episode, so far, anxious.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_02]: Anxiety.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_00]: Because I would care to be very anxious.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_00]: Go back and listen to say something.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_00]: Season five episode 14 on Gilmorey visited.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_00]: She was anxious as well.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's a very, because I've been shut out like this before.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_02]: especially when it's something that you didn't do.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_02]: You didn't do, and it wasn't really about you, right.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think outside of Laura Lye not telling Luke about the night that she went over with the tequila with Chris outside of that shouldn't do anything wrong.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_02]: And regardless, here's the thing, is that I would love to know how Luke would have reacted, had he not already been like,
- 46:52[SPEAKER_02]: brimming with some frustration, resentment, anger towards lower life for not telling him about Chris would he have reacted the same way.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's no way to know, I just, I don't think that that instance is enough to mean that irritated because it kind of came out of the blue.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_02]: When they're having that conversation in doses, as you corners him, and she's like, hey, we need to talk, like, people are starting, they're starting to hand out ribbons, and I'm like starting to unravel, I need you to talk to me.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_02]: The reason is like,
- 47:24[SPEAKER_02]: Emily tried to split us up like Christopher's always going to be a part of your life.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_02]: Emily's always going to be a part of your life.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, where's the advice you give to when when has that ever?
- 47:34[SPEAKER_02]: impact of the choices I've made.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_02]: Like you said, famously, she doesn't listen to her mother.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_00]: No, and I think that that's, I think that's kind of like a two-parter there for me is like he left her there.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_00]: He shut her out and then he made it about himself because like if you're all in on her, you have known her for so long.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_00]: And so like to traverse the ups and downs, you can make it about yourself.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_00]: But it's like a hop to recognize that both of you are going through this.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_00]: And she is there pleading with you, trying to make you see that like I had nothing to do with that and you know, you know that, like know that a suddenly the drama is too much for you.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_02]: Have you met the Gilmore girls and that to me is where I say he was all in until he wasn't.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_00]: He was all in until he wasn't tested.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like one of the ones that I didn't read because it's in like kind of like the evidence that people like explain why or why not.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_00]: They said no, he was always waiting for something to go wrong.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, oh, my best Steve, my best Steve.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, that is.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_00]: That is true like I think that he was all in waiting for something to go wrong.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_02]: I actually disagree with that.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_02]: Do you I do why I disagree with that until we get to season six
- 48:54[SPEAKER_00]: Really I feel like I feel like with the crisp thing like the way that kind of I know that they're building the plot because it starts with like she was like I had lunch with Chris today and he was like, okay, I just want you know I'm okay with the crisp thing and that's like immediately something starting to go wrong Like it's a keys anticipate there was nothing nefarious happened they just had lunch at the dragonfly with his daughter And then I think slowly as that's building like the only reason that he like left I feel like is because like it's got hard
- 49:24[SPEAKER_00]: And so for sure, but I don't think he was waiting for something to go wrong.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think I almost feel like he was waiting for the other shooter drop.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of like what that feels like.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_00]: You know, sometimes you're good to be true.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes, sure, I think you could, I think you could say that about a lot of people's insecurities when they walk into relationships, especially when it's one that's been as highly anticipated as Lorelei and Luke's.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yeah, speaking to what you said earlier in the episode, like Bret and I started
- 49:54[SPEAKER_02]: to Laura Lyon Luke, we didn't know each other for eight years, but we knew each other for a handful of years before she was dating.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_02]: His fortune.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_02]: I put a wife like Eesma from Amber's new group of people saying his fortune.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_02]: Give me the fortune, Kronk.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_02]: But we did start out from a place similarly to Lorelie and Luke, where like there was so much build up and so much anticipation We weren't going into it as like oh this surf first date.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_02]: It was but it was like, but we've known each other for so long And so much behind there's so many feelings back
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_02]: And so I understand that feeling of like, is this too good to be true?
- 50:33[SPEAKER_02]: There were a lot of those feelings when Brett and I first started dating.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, my, like, is this really great?
- 50:39[SPEAKER_02]: When's the other shoe going to drop?
- 50:40[SPEAKER_02]: Is there another shoe?
- 50:41[SPEAKER_02]: How many shoes are there?
- 50:42[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 50:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's a one person wear once.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_02]: He only has two feet.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_00]: I only have two feet.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_00]: So I get that aspect to it.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_00]: But I do it.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_00]: Well, what about this one?
- 50:56[SPEAKER_00]: He was all in for the variables.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_00]: He knew about but then got thrown curveballs.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_00]: He couldn't handle that.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_02]: I agree with one hundred percent.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_02]: He was all in on the variables.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_02]: He knew about with a little star next to it because he knew about the Gilmore.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_00]: He, he, they see that's what I'm saying.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_00]: Several times.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_00]: Another one was he said it when his life wasn't particularly hard and hadn't been put to the test.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'd agree with that also.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_00]: Like he, another one, he liked the fantasy of being with Laura Lye and never really knew what that meant being with her.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_02]: I also agree with that.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that the first one you just read to me, nailed it.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_02]: He was all in on the variables that he felt he could handle and tackle and then when things got hard and curveballs were thrown his way, he did not know how to handle it.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_02]: And I do can do softball.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_02]: He couldn't put in hardball, which is really ironic because Scott Patterson played in the minor leagues.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_02]: But I didn't hear him over there.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_02]: But I do disagree with him waiting for the other shoot to drop.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it was that.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think he got through a curveball and did not know.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_00]: It was broccoli heart.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's my no sparkly heart.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_02]: I don't agree.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think the curve ball makes a lot more sense What I will say is that when we get into season six, I will come back to that interesting because personally I read that and I was like whoa our best use came out thinking big thoughts Big brain thoughts today because a lot of those are just like great great great great amazing
- 52:27[SPEAKER_00]: So with that one on the cons, I put that he left her there, he was her ride, she had to get a taxi, please.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, shutting Laura light out.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, that is so immature.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_00]: Talk through your problems.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and makes it about him, like a situation that he knew, he knew about her family, but he was like, this, this feels personal when it was not about him at all.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_00]: It was about Laura light.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_02]: And that really really continues on in Jews and Chinese food the next episode, which is the school play when they do the right way.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I do want to say in say something at the end.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes, I have to put into the pro when she calls him and leaves the very dramatic voice mail and she goes to his house.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, to steal it as you do.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_00]: He shows up at her house and breaks in because he fixed all the ways to get into her house.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_02]: And he is like, I was so worried about you.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_02]: Are you okay?
- 53:20[SPEAKER_02]: That is a pro for me.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_00]: Now that's a pro.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_00]: Is that like a remnant like a habit of their friendship?
- 53:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of what I felt like because like it feels like a pro.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_00]: It feels like being all in.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_00]: But like why can't you step any further?
- 53:34[SPEAKER_02]: The thing about that moment, I know they wanted to keep them apart for a couple of episodes, is I wish that that was then when they were
- 53:44[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left you that voicemail.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_02]: I heard you loud and clear, you're out.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not gonna bother you anymore.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_02]: No, he could have chased after her.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_02]: But instead, he just kind of luts that sit.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think had she been like, I am struggling so much and we need to have a conversation.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they would have sat down.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying they would have worked it out, but maybe they would have been able to sit down and have a conversation at that point because he came over.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, he saw how dangerous he was.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_02]: She was, but yeah, you're right.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think the only time we've ever really seen him fight for her was the end of season 4.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_00]: But I think the thing is, it's like, in that instance, definitely not a fighter.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_00]: Definitely going to accept what kind of is going on around him, especially with the wedding bell blues incident with Chris, with Emily, whatever.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_00]: But I think someone who waits eight years for someone, yeah, not really a go-getter.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'm seeing this person.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_00]: And so when they're in the relationship, are they going to be go-getting like all the sudden?
- 54:40[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think he takes a lot of initiative in the beginnings of their relationship.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's very common of a lot of people when they first started getting.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_02]: You're very excited.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_02]: You are like stepping up.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_02]: You are enamored.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_02]: And then you sink into the relationship and things become comfortable.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_02]: you know, not necessarily meant built to last, then, you know, things fall apart, but it is it is easy to get comfortable after a really strong start.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I do think they had a really strong start.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think that this derailed them, I think it was on Luke, that it derailed them personally, I think that Laura, I played a very small part in that.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_02]: But I think Luke, it was him.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_02]: It was him.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_02]: I would put him showing up into the pro list.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_02]: I agree with you that I wish he could have taken it to step further, but I know that they need to kind of prolong this for a bit.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_02]: And what I don't appreciate is that by the time, like I said, we get to Jews and Chinese food with his local production of Fiddler on the roof, they're both working on it.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_02]: And he gets so frustrated that he hasn't seen her that he comes to her house while she's building her all alone, like special, all alone place in her garage, and he mocks her for it.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I, because he's like, someone tripped up their costume.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, gold-a-tripped.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_00]: Is it gold?
- 55:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yenta.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, is it?
- 55:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yenta-tripped.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yenta-tripped.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like, and you were there where you were supposed to be.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, what?
- 56:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, where I was supposed to be.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_00]: But you're so right.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_00]: He mocks her for her all-special alone space.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_00]: You got a whole house of all-special alone space.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_02]: It was so weird and not a character for him to be so, so mean.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_00]: And then he like, how does this like look about him like he regrets it?
- 56:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_00]: But it's like, you can't communicate your feelings.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_00]: We know that.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's why you've had a horoscope in your wallet for eight years.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_00]: But like, don't be mean to her.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was mean.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_00]: I hate that moment.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_00]: You know why she's sad.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_00]: You know why she's making this all special alone space.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_00]: Because you came, again, the reason she's decorating her garage is because he took
- 56:39[SPEAKER_00]: the boat out.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, oh my god, you're so right.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_02]: He takes the boat and doesn't have.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_00]: Like that.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I forgot about that.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're right.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if I can put that into a con because it's like no, I can't put it into a con because it's because it's rude.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's your podcast.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_00]: and is yours too.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_00]: But that one like really bothers me because like as she says it's like it's basically like a babe broke upside and you thought that he was doing something for her like giving her the space back and she's like I've never used my garage and you know that and I think that that's so true like he took it.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_00]: It was cowardly.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_00]: It was in the middle of the night, like without her even knowing, he came into her space, her all special, a lot of space.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_00]: And talk it to you.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I sew with you.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_00]: As if she wasn't gonna see it, parked outside the town square, like even she was at Westins.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like I love when she goes to the end and she's talking to Suki in the kitchen, she was like, how did she come to her room?
- 57:42[SPEAKER_00]: today.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna realize like I turned and made a star-burn turn at the marina with a marina.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_00]: Because it really was like it felt like a middle finger that he was like oh, I was just trying to do something nice for you.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_02]: You were being a coward.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_00]: You were being a coward.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_00]: And you're just going on the con.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I agree.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_00]: Napping.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_02]: Boop.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_02]: Napping.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_00]: She bought it.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_02]: It was her boat.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_02]: Technically, it's hers.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_02]: And then mocking her special mocking her mean agreed.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_02]: The next con that I have is that I don't like that he needed Emily's permission to reconcile with her.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_00]: This one also the last being mean kind of blends in because in so good talk when they are still not yet together.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_00]: This is the one where Emily comes at the end and then Judy Garland is singing and they have their kiss, which is amazing kiss.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_00]: Love the reunion first kiss.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_00]: agreed excellent moment love it, but throughout that episode before we get to the point Lucas mean like he's burning his burgers they taste awful like Lane bring one to Rory and she's like what is this?
- 58:46[SPEAKER_00]: What is he talking about?
- 58:47[SPEAKER_00]: He's just being mean to everyone and I don't know if we can put that in a con and being all in but like I put it in a con for Luke because it's like my dude why are you pouting so you put yourself in this situation?
- 59:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah
- 59:00[SPEAKER_00]: because you didn't process your feelings and talk them out with your partner who you're supposed to go through things with.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_00]: Not shut them out.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_00]: Now you're upset.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_00]: Where do we put it?
- 59:12[SPEAKER_00]: Just in the annoyed category?
- 59:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think it's just somewhere in the middle.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it can be a con.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_02]: No, I think it just goes hand-in-hand with Emily giving him her blessing, and that's why he goes in reconciles with Laurel-I.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, yeah, that's all all in behavior.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_02]: I guess someone could argue like, okay, once he knew that Emily wasn't going to interfere anymore, he was like, all right, I'm back, but it's like, you needed that to be all in.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_02]: I don't love that.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's not some fuel.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's like, I'm all in, but only if your family is going to leave us alone.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't necessarily think he needed her permission, but he didn't not need it because when he comes in, when she comes in, Emily to the diner.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_00]: Again, after they've reconciled, she yells at him.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like, why didn't you take my advice?
- 59:56[SPEAKER_00]: Why didn't you do what I told you to do?
- 59:58[SPEAKER_00]: And he kind of like,
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_00]: Talks back to her a little bit like it was our decision hours.
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he said we got back together because we wanted to get back together And I'm like that's actually not true.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean if you got through if you wanted to but she pushed you she pushed you
- 1:00:16[SPEAKER_00]: It was not, and I think that this is something that Luke and Rory have in common, is they're not big internal motivated characters.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_00]: They require a lot of external motivation to move their plot forward.
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's the same thing of, like, just being like, you should go back to Yale.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_00]: You should read a book that I feel like he kind of needs someone to shove them a little bit sometimes.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_00]: And in this case, Emily Shubtem, and that's not all in behavior.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I put.
- 1:00:42[SPEAKER_00]: This is not all an Emily baby.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_02]: But they do get back together.
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_02]: And we start to see a lot more green flags in to live in Le Diorama when he, you know, works with Taylor so that he can have a foot in the door on the Twicken House so that he can buy it for him in Lourn Lie.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_02]: I think that there's something very all in about that.
- 1:01:01[SPEAKER_00]: I feel very mixed about the Twicom House, but into Living Let Diorama, I feel like it's a pro.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's like making steps because he wants to get in so that they can have this home.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I feel like that's like really the only time I feel like the Twicom House is a pro admittedly because he doesn't tell her about it.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_00]: Famously, he loves it.
- 1:01:21[SPEAKER_00]: I do not tell her things, but I will put Twicom House work, Twicom House torture,
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_02]: Torture.
- 1:01:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_00]: From House Taylor's Torture.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_00]: Taylor, Team Torture.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:01:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, totally.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_00]: Having to work with Dean, also a torture, you know?
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like a whole moment.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I think in that moment, I'd say he's all in because he wants to want to make life for them.
- 1:01:45[SPEAKER_00]: They're still tall, though.
- 1:01:46[SPEAKER_02]: Famously, our favorite episode, one of our favorite episodes of season five, but I'm a Gilmore.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm so lucky.
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_02]: He has gone bed rest and Laura like Halls Luke and is like, can you please come touch the box?
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_02]: He comes over and he ends up becoming the chef at the Dragonfly.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_02]: everything that's going on with sukey all of her antics and he's like ready to quit and he and I love that Laura likes like what are you gonna do he's like nothing absolutely nothing because we're together I get to anything and she just sends it not it's like that's like the most I like I love Luke then because he's like I love when he gets mad and she's just saying they're like what are you gonna do?
- 1:02:21[SPEAKER_02]: He's like nothing because we're in a relationship, yeah, and the the context like the the subtext to that is like because I love you And I'm gonna show up for you and I'm here.
- 1:02:32[SPEAKER_02]: I'm doing this, but man, I'm mad Yeah, like that feels like being all in.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to do this, but like I could not give up on you and leave you stranded That's the last thing I would ever want to do so that triumphs What I actually want to do, which is to leave and go back to my place.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_00]: My daughter.
- 1:02:49[SPEAKER_00]: I own where I cook food
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_00]: Usually, so he had a nice time for you at a nice time.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_02]: You were really enjoyed it.
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you would kick He's around in its ass, isn't that he said for a man to get manning
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:03:06[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, Caesar.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, Caesar.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_00]: Move over, Caesar, Salad.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's the Manis salad.
- 1:03:10[SPEAKER_00]: No, Manis salad.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_00]: Salad is also disgusting.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_00]: Manis salad.
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_00]: A Manis salad.
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_00]: It sounds like it's like filled with Manis.
- 1:03:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, all right.
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want that visual.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, the next pro that I have.
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, what was the pro there?
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, he dropped everything for the end.
- 1:03:29[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, yeah, we've really got fun and made a way for us.
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_02]: No, we're talking about mayonnaise.
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have anything between that and the season finale of Season Bife?
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_00]: No, the next one is that he is down to help Rory.
- 1:03:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like he hears about Rory dropping out of Yale, and he is going to tire to a chair.
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_00]: yeah like without he has without he like learns very little information yes and he forms a plan he knows she's upset he knows worry he knows what needs to happen and they're going to get her back to you no questions ask that she doesn't ask anything of him but he's like here's what we're going to do
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're gonna tie her to it.
- 1:04:07[SPEAKER_00]: She takes charge.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_00]: No one hundred percent.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_00]: She says he says I'm about kidnapping her though, doesn't he?
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_00]: Kidnapping her.
- 1:04:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, okay, so I'm saying I'm saying that.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if that's right.
- 1:04:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, keep talking about tying the video more to a chair I'm gonna write that on the pro tie.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_02]: We're ready to a chair.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_02]: No, but he really takes charge there.
- 1:04:25[SPEAKER_02]: And obviously as we know like that's the moment that everything shifts with a lower line That she's like I want to marry this man.
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and she proposed this to him
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_02]: I would say it's also a pro in his favor that he immediately says, yes, it's giving I'm all in.
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's like, I did you not hear me in episode three.
- 1:04:42[SPEAKER_00]: Now the episode 22, I was, I said yes then.
- 1:04:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:04:45[SPEAKER_00]: That was me proposing.
- 1:04:46[SPEAKER_00]: Was I not clear enough?
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_02]: Totally.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_00]: there was someone said that said that that he shouldn't have said yes, that he shouldn't have taken time.
- 1:04:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that that was all they said.
- 1:04:57[SPEAKER_00]: I did want to know more, but I was like maybe they will call in.
- 1:05:01[SPEAKER_00]: If you thought that Luke should have said no to the engagement, and you responded to this question box, please call in.
- 1:05:07[SPEAKER_00]: Tell us why.
- 1:05:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, call this why.
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_02]: Call in about him being not all in.
- 1:05:12[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, oh my gosh, do we need to do a GTC?
- 1:05:16[SPEAKER_00]: You call in about all in?
- 1:05:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:05:18[SPEAKER_02]: Call in number.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_02]: Next in fight face.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of bringing everything from the Twigham House into live in Latte, Irama, full circle.
- 1:05:27[SPEAKER_02]: He hears her when she talks about not wanting to give up her house.
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_00]: gives up the took-and-pops for her.
- 1:05:33[SPEAKER_02]: Well, starts estimates on renovations for her house.
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't tell her, so hilarious moment.
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_02]: Hey.
- 1:05:41[SPEAKER_02]: What's his name?
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember if he's on the roof.
- 1:05:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's on the roof.
- 1:05:45[SPEAKER_02]: Bill or Bob?
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Bill was the first thing I thought of.
- 1:05:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, okay.
- 1:05:49[SPEAKER_00]: Are you robbing me?
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't know how to ask this.
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_00]: I love that moment.
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's so great But she loves that house and he loves like or even though I really fought hard for the Twickham house But she didn't tell her about to be fair.
- 1:06:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's a girl plans a plans changed She wants to stay in this house.
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to expand this house
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just love that he tells her when they're like almost asleep and she turns over just like you bought a house What a house.
- 1:06:14[SPEAKER_00]: I don't tell anyone Yeah, it's giving him a gem, but they she liked it and just different different but I would say a con I don't know if you agree if this con fits in this pro con list But it's in that same episode that he tells Rory that he and Laura Lyon gaged
- 1:06:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I and I think that he knew better.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 1:06:38[SPEAKER_02]: That is a girl and also just more over that it's like in that moment he did choose himself.
- 1:06:46[SPEAKER_00]: And it's quite odd.
- 1:06:47[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you and I had a struggle with those first couple of episodes of season six in general.
- 1:06:53[SPEAKER_00]: It, we believed, because we still want to, we still want to do some rankings for some Amy and Dan episodes, but we think that new and improved lower line fight face, which were written by Amy and Dan, respectively, are two of their weakest episodes.
- 1:07:05[SPEAKER_00]: Great overall.
- 1:07:06[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that it was really, really hard to,
- 1:07:10[SPEAKER_00]: watch Luke do that because it felt so disconnected from the Luke that was in episode 22 House, not at home, he was telling all the ways that we were able to get back to school.
- 1:07:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think you knew how to deal with this situation, that is such a famous Luke trait to not know how to deal with this situation.
- 1:07:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:07:28[SPEAKER_00]: But such a weird decision to be like, hey, you're on the out with your mom.
- 1:07:32[SPEAKER_00]: You're kind of dropped out of school.
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_00]: Why don't I tell you about this huge life change that your mom made that you don't know.
- 1:07:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_02]: And the way that he kind of straddles the line of pro and con that like he...
- 1:07:45[SPEAKER_02]: Tells lore like about it and it's like I told Rory we were engaged she was like why and he's not at her about it He's not at her because he's like you don't understand.
- 1:07:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm in the middle like Yes, but also You're not you put yourself in the middle now one standing in the middle until you stepped in do it Yeah, but I do understand that he's like he does kind of say to her like you need to step outside of yourself and realize that this doesn't just impact you and your daughter like I have a relationship with your daughter
- 1:08:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:08:14[SPEAKER_02]: So that's why it straddles the line for me is because like I appreciate his honesty and I appreciate him thinking of his relationship with worry, a separate from his relationship with Laura like in the sense that it is it has such a deep foundation that it's like I'm not just very meaningful.
- 1:08:29[SPEAKER_02]: A like parent to her because of you.
- 1:08:32[SPEAKER_02]: I am also like I care about that girl so, so, so, so much.
- 1:08:35[SPEAKER_02]: And he says as much when they're friends.
- 1:08:37[SPEAKER_02]: I care about her when that I care about myself.
- 1:08:39[SPEAKER_00]: She's been tonight.
- 1:08:39[SPEAKER_02]: Seriously.
- 1:08:40[SPEAKER_00]: Screaming in the street.
- 1:08:42[SPEAKER_00]: Screaming in the street.
- 1:08:43[SPEAKER_00]: But that doesn't mean he had to tell her.
- 1:08:44[SPEAKER_00]: As much as I love everything that you set, just said the other side of that, the flip side, is don't equate them.
- 1:08:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:08:52[SPEAKER_00]: Do not look at me and tell me that your relationship is an any way similar to my relationship with her.
- 1:08:56[SPEAKER_00]: you put it down, you put it on the floor and you put mine on the counter and you kind of you need to put yourself inside in that situation and don't tell her.
- 1:09:07[SPEAKER_00]: Is it like excellent for the plot for worried to find out this way to like further like push them apart?
- 1:09:13[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_00]: I've just got it.
- 1:09:15[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, but I just think that that was wrong with him.
- 1:09:18[SPEAKER_00]: Good job.
- 1:09:19[SPEAKER_00]: Good job on the conflict, my friends.
- 1:09:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know.
- 1:09:22[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
- 1:09:23[SPEAKER_02]: I do.
- 1:09:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think I can do a
- 1:09:25[SPEAKER_00]: After that, I have 21 is the only a number.
- 1:09:27[SPEAKER_02]: Ooh, I have a couple before that.
- 1:09:31[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 1:09:31[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:09:32[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's back up then.
- 1:09:33[SPEAKER_02]: I believe it's in the ungraduated when Paulinka eats the chocolate.
- 1:09:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think that runs Paulinka.
- 1:09:38[SPEAKER_00]: I actually think that's your battle, like, because when you bring, let me hear your battle in guess.
- 1:09:44[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, that's because because when he tells her about everything with Paulinka and she's in his apartment, her responses, I don't want to set a date until things are right with worry.
- 1:09:54[SPEAKER_02]: And Suki finds out about that and then she invites them both to the
- 1:10:03[SPEAKER_00]: But I think Paulink has sick and bad with this.
- 1:10:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, okay, okay, okay.
- 1:10:07[SPEAKER_00]: But it's different.
- 1:10:08[SPEAKER_00]: If you just got confused.
- 1:10:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, okay.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_02]: He eats all the chocolate in the ungraduate.
- 1:10:12[SPEAKER_02]: Luke grabs him and takes him to the vet because he's like, My fiance will absolutely fall apart if anything happens to this dog.
- 1:10:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:10:22[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.
- 1:10:23[SPEAKER_00]: I love that, too.
- 1:10:24[SPEAKER_00]: That is one of those moments where I'm like, save him.
- 1:10:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:10:28[SPEAKER_00]: You're all in.
- 1:10:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, don't.
- 1:10:30[SPEAKER_00]: I just love and then he takes off his watch because he knows you're so right.
- 1:10:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's very sweet.
- 1:10:37[SPEAKER_00]: No, you're so right.
- 1:10:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the his watch and Talked with your non-watching watch hands.
- 1:10:42[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, get to her dog and save some safe stuff.
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's the bare minimum that you could do to save him But like taking off your watch and knowing him It's in a different category.
- 1:10:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah
- 1:10:52[SPEAKER_02]: I also love in, we've got magic to do when Laura likes to come off the other day.
- 1:10:58[SPEAKER_00]: They forgot.
- 1:10:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_02]: She kind of sends him off like Amazon.
- 1:11:01[SPEAKER_02]: Like gone to happen.
- 1:11:03[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, I don't want to go camping.
- 1:11:05[SPEAKER_02]: I want to hang out with you.
- 1:11:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:11:07[SPEAKER_02]: I want to do the silly things you do.
- 1:11:08[SPEAKER_02]: Like I go do those things because you're there.
- 1:11:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love that.
- 1:11:12[SPEAKER_00]: I like camping, but like I like hanging out with you.
- 1:11:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like yeah, of course all these things like it seems like he's like of course isn't my favorite list of things to do, but my favorite thing to do is be with you.
- 1:11:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's what we're doing.
- 1:11:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's what we're doing.
- 1:11:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, which is really like one of those moments when like it feels so different between Luke and Jess, because Jess is like now that I have you,
- 1:11:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have to win you, but I have things to say about that when we dive a little deeper into the Juss and Luke of it all later into the pool, but into the pool of Juss and Luke.
- 1:11:42[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:11:43[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, we're great for doing show.
- 1:11:45[SPEAKER_00]: What a fun, a lake, if you will.
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_00]: A lake.
- 1:11:49[SPEAKER_00]: We can grow a boat on it with a swan.
- 1:11:51[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to push each other into it.
- 1:11:53[SPEAKER_00]: We're just going to be fun.
- 1:11:55[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be done.
- 1:11:55[SPEAKER_00]: Good times.
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what's the pro there though, wants to hang out with her?
- 1:12:00[SPEAKER_02]: The pro is, I think, speaking to your point about, like, going to events, he doesn't want to go to, just because she's there.
- 1:12:07[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like my brain is like, yes, that's such a pro.
- 1:12:10[SPEAKER_00]: But the other side of it is like, oh, he wants to hang out with this girlfriend dazzling.
- 1:12:14[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 1:12:15[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's just, it goes deeper than that.
- 1:12:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's so, it's like, it goes back to the CDs.
- 1:12:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, it's so Luke to not want to do.
- 1:12:22[SPEAKER_00]: Luke would never go to a time meeting, but he will go to every single time meeting because he gets to sit next to Laura like, oh, but I also love that I'm written in the stars.
- 1:12:29[SPEAKER_02]: He says, don't get used to me.
- 1:12:30[SPEAKER_02]: Go into these town things, which is very like, I'll go like, nephew.
- 1:12:33[SPEAKER_02]: But then by the time we get here, he's like, no, I want to go to Miss Patti's silly.
- 1:12:37[SPEAKER_02]: We've got magic to do, Pippin' Show.
- 1:12:40[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see Kirk do an interpretive dance.
- 1:12:44[SPEAKER_02]: Because you're there.
- 1:12:44[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't, I wouldn't go on my own.
- 1:12:47[SPEAKER_02]: I want to go because you're there.
- 1:12:49[SPEAKER_00]: want to be where she is is kind of what I put it as, which feels like I'm like trying to explain it to my pro-conless feels kind of like oh they're minimum, but like no it's like it makes sense to the to us and that's all it only needs to make sense to us as it turns out.
- 1:13:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's true.
- 1:13:06[SPEAKER_00]: Do you have anything before 21 is the number?
- 1:13:09[SPEAKER_02]: Next one I have is 21 is the only a number.
- 1:13:11[SPEAKER_02]: I love that it's you can pull links sausages out of me if you want.
- 1:13:14[SPEAKER_00]: even before that, he shows up to Roy's party, and he's very intentional with Roy.
- 1:13:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think that this is more, I think season 6 takes a second to get into these characters or not really into Luke at the beginning or not really into Sukey.
- 1:13:27[SPEAKER_00]: But by this episode, I feel like this is who Luke is.
- 1:13:29[SPEAKER_00]: He shows up at Roy's birthday party despite what's going on between the two of them, knowing what's going on between the two of them.
- 1:13:36[SPEAKER_00]: He still makes a moment to be very intentional with Roy, bring a present just for her,
- 1:13:42[SPEAKER_00]: specifically from him, I think that he gives her a pearl necklace because Liz's neck is too fat, or something like that, from his mother, which is, I think, gorgeous and beautiful sentiment that he wants to keep it in the family and she will be.
- 1:13:58[SPEAKER_00]: Um, she introduces him to, is it tweening Albert?
- 1:14:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Albert.
- 1:14:03[SPEAKER_00]: His stepfather to be, or her stepfather to be rather, and I just feel like that's another one of those moments of like, he gets lower a lie.
- 1:14:10[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's a, he gets her.
- 1:14:12[SPEAKER_00]: He knows that the way to take care of lower lies to also take care of Laurie.
- 1:14:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's not it.
- 1:14:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:14:17[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 1:14:18[SPEAKER_02]: But he really brings it home with you composing sausage sausages out of me if you want, because he knows that Laura like is,
- 1:14:24[SPEAKER_02]: Deb this state it.
- 1:14:26[SPEAKER_00]: Deb this state like by the end of the party wind.
- 1:14:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like all she could have ever wanted was for things to be okay For them to not be there and to be an Atlantic city and said a great and he didn't want to do that But he's gonna do it for her which goes back to like the CDs The going to the town meeting he's going to do things for her that he would never allow from another person I think it's being all in I'm just gonna put the this reads what she wants to do
- 1:14:54[SPEAKER_02]: And then the next one I have is in, let me hear your belly kiss ringing out, when Paul Inc. is not feeling well, and Laura likes just falling apart, because it's also a representation and symbolism of, you know.
- 1:15:09[SPEAKER_02]: her relationship with worry is she's just feeling really low about it.
- 1:15:12[SPEAKER_02]: And I love the way that loop tends to her.
- 1:15:14[SPEAKER_02]: I love the way she cares for her.
- 1:15:15[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, you know, it looks like you haven't slept all night.
- 1:15:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to call Suki and tell her that you're not coming in today.
- 1:15:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like, just the way he is so.
- 1:15:24[SPEAKER_02]: He's just her and gentle with her.
- 1:15:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like peak.
- 1:15:29[SPEAKER_02]: And it breaks my heart for where we're about to go with the two of them because this is like, okay, we're so back.
- 1:15:35[SPEAKER_00]: We feel so bad, we feel so bad.
- 1:15:38[SPEAKER_00]: And then, so here's the thing.
- 1:15:40[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the thing, I have a question about.
- 1:15:42[SPEAKER_00]: I've been numbering these on our pro-conlist.
- 1:15:46[SPEAKER_00]: Some of these feel like they should be in much larger fun as we go into the next one.
- 1:15:51[SPEAKER_02]: Because the next thing is that the amount of pros and the amount of cons aren't necessarily what we're doing.
- 1:16:01[SPEAKER_02]: like it's just the baseline for examination.
- 1:16:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to be honest with you, I don't have any more pros after this.
- 1:16:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have any more pros either.
- 1:16:09[SPEAKER_00]: I only have cons.
- 1:16:11[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think it will reach the number of pros, because at this point we have 18 pros and we have nine cons.
- 1:16:18[SPEAKER_00]: But we have, evenly.
- 1:16:19[SPEAKER_00]: gotten to the worst of the cons exactly about wait I feel like if we had like a scale and we put the pros on I still don't think that the pros would be that much heavier than where the cons are at right now like I think in terms of wait like even though there's a lot more pros I think that there maybe a little bit lighter than like leaving her there at the wedding
- 1:16:47[SPEAKER_00]: Do I mean you could have a ton of pros in some man's column and then in the cons he just killed someone like You could have a bunch of pros in some man's column is my new favorite phrase You could take this into the rest of your year you could have a bunch of pros in some man's column
- 1:17:12[SPEAKER_02]: You know, then in the cons he's killed someone and he's killed someone.
- 1:17:16[SPEAKER_02]: He's hit somebody with their car That's her all about Michael Scott.
- 1:17:19[SPEAKER_02]: He pushed you into traffic.
- 1:17:21[SPEAKER_02]: Like There's too many ways You know, yes into a lake.
- 1:17:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I really is who wrote the pen here.
- 1:17:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's true because this for me
- 1:17:33[SPEAKER_02]: But this for me is where we come back to.
- 1:17:36[SPEAKER_02]: He was waiting for the other shoe to drop and that for me is what happens in the Protocol daughter returns when Christopher leaves that voice mail.
- 1:17:43[SPEAKER_02]: He gives her absolutely no room.
- 1:17:46[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 1:17:47[SPEAKER_02]: What's so ever he is so quick to not trust her?
- 1:17:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, she does not have room for explanation.
- 1:17:53[SPEAKER_02]: She does not have room to tell him.
- 1:17:55[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, who is that?
- 1:17:56[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, oh, it's Christopher.
- 1:17:58[SPEAKER_02]: So you weren't going to tell me I was going to tell you we have company
- 1:18:01[SPEAKER_02]: But that, for me, is he was waiting for the other shooter drop?
- 1:18:04[SPEAKER_00]: At this point, he doesn't know about April, though.
- 1:18:06[SPEAKER_00]: No, not yet.
- 1:18:07[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't, and up this point in the episode, he doesn't know about April.
- 1:18:10[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, but like this is one of those things.
- 1:18:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, okay, we're starting with, we can't keep secrets.
- 1:18:16[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.
- 1:18:17[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we can't, we can't, we can't, well, okay, so that is the thing, is the first, the first con for me, because I think we separate them in the protocol data returns.
- 1:18:28[SPEAKER_02]: Not trusting Laura lie the second that he hears a Christopher called and then that he runs away and she has to chase him and he's pouting in his man cave and tells her I'm never going to be okay with Christopher
- 1:18:47[SPEAKER_02]: If you remember Matt Rory, hello, the daughter together.
- 1:18:50[SPEAKER_02]: I just think, what does he say we have child together?
- 1:18:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it's a child.
- 1:18:54[SPEAKER_00]: I am the child.
- 1:18:55[SPEAKER_00]: I have a child.
- 1:18:55[SPEAKER_02]: I have a child together.
- 1:18:56[SPEAKER_02]: Tis me.
- 1:18:58[SPEAKER_02]: Tis me.
- 1:18:59[SPEAKER_02]: I'm the child.
- 1:19:00[SPEAKER_02]: But for me, that is separate from the fact that, like, not only does he not trust her, he goes and, like, pouts in his little hidey hole in the dark.
- 1:19:09[SPEAKER_00]: In the dark.
- 1:19:10[SPEAKER_00]: Does he even turn the light on?
- 1:19:11[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 1:19:12[SPEAKER_02]: To reconcile.
- 1:19:14[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, oh, how did we take such a sharp turn?
- 1:19:18[SPEAKER_02]: I understand that no relationship is perfect.
- 1:19:21[SPEAKER_02]: And as we make this pro-conless, this is not like a hit piece on Luke Danes.
- 1:19:24[SPEAKER_02]: It is just simply like, I want to, remember?
- 1:19:26[SPEAKER_02]: I guess, it's not like that.
- 1:19:28[SPEAKER_02]: But it's more like, this is an example of, my guy, you're not all in on this woman.
- 1:19:34[SPEAKER_02]: If you immediately,
- 1:19:36[SPEAKER_02]: I understand that Christopher is a tender spot, a trigger.
- 1:19:39[SPEAKER_02]: He's a point of peace.
- 1:19:41[SPEAKER_00]: He's never going to think of any reason to be, I mean, prior to like the being the villain and getting a lose.
- 1:19:47[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever.
- 1:19:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:19:48[SPEAKER_00]: And prior to that, there was really no reason.
- 1:19:51[SPEAKER_00]: It was just for me, I think that was just secret keeping but got projected onto Christopher.
- 1:19:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:19:56[SPEAKER_00]: And so I understood that.
- 1:19:58[SPEAKER_02]: But what he feels like the rat, just by existing, he feels the rat.
- 1:20:04[SPEAKER_00]: But you heard Laura lie and said, I haven't talked to him.
- 1:20:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's the first time I've heard from him and you're hearing it too.
- 1:20:10[SPEAKER_00]: You chose not to believe her.
- 1:20:11[SPEAKER_00]: And to just be in front of Suki too and just like, like, why would she lie to you about that?
- 1:20:18[SPEAKER_00]: Like, she actually hasn't lied to him.
- 1:20:21[SPEAKER_00]: She just kept things from him.
- 1:20:22[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Vory was actually the one hit that lied in women of questionable morals, you right?
- 1:20:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was Vory was the one that was like kind of keeping it from him and it was like he doesn't speak.
- 1:20:32[SPEAKER_00]: So there was that lie, but like other than that, I don't know.
- 1:20:37[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't think his reaction was warranted and that is where I could get on board with someone saying that he was waiting for the other shoot to draw.
- 1:20:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so once he had a shoe in his hand, yeah, or like once a shoe was dropped, he was like, oh, there's a second one.
- 1:20:54[SPEAKER_00]: There's a second one out there.
- 1:20:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:20:57[SPEAKER_00]: And it really really didn't drop.
- 1:20:58[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like he threw it on the ground and was like, oh, look, the shoe dropped, you know.
- 1:21:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I think he, I don't love that he doesn't give her once again agency to explain to even that she does.
- 1:21:11[SPEAKER_00]: She does, she literally does and he doesn't believe her or he doesn't trust it or he doesn't like it and he goes and pouts and makes her come to him to reconcile, which I don't like so I do love to dinner though because when that's when Jackson was like, is it the was in my rub?
- 1:21:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it was.
- 1:21:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it was.
- 1:21:30[UNKNOWN]: Yeah, very funny.
- 1:21:31[SPEAKER_02]: but this is where we kick off just a slew of cons because of course in that same episode at the end he finds out about April and you know he doesn't tell Laura lie but also the episode ends so we don't know if that he's not going to tell Laura lie it's the irony of we can't keep secrets for me each other yes you're so right just for him we around yeah just for him to go on to keep a secret from her
- 1:21:54[SPEAKER_02]: And we could break that down in a lot of ways.
- 1:21:56[SPEAKER_02]: I think that keeping April a secret from Laurel I stands on its own, but has a lot of little cons underneath it.
- 1:22:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's a little cons holding it up, you know, like exactly.
- 1:22:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like out of throne and the April problem sitting on top of it, and they're all little cons holding it up.
- 1:22:13[SPEAKER_00]: Hold it up.
- 1:22:14[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 1:22:14[SPEAKER_00]: Hold enough fanning of the con.
- 1:22:16[SPEAKER_00]: Fan is as they were.
- 1:22:17[SPEAKER_00]: Fanning it.
- 1:22:17[SPEAKER_00]: Fiends.
- 1:22:18[SPEAKER_00]: Grapes.
- 1:22:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:22:19[SPEAKER_00]: Feeding it.
- 1:22:19[SPEAKER_00]: Grapes.
- 1:22:21[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 1:22:23[SPEAKER_00]: The main con.
- 1:22:24[SPEAKER_02]: When we do finally find out why he didn't tell her or why he doesn't want the two of them having contact, it is so selfish.
- 1:22:33[SPEAKER_02]: So selfish and it's just like I was thinking about this today in like if Brett had like founder He had a child and he told me yes, but he didn't tell me I would burn all of his shoes Wow
- 1:22:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'm running one of all of his shoes, so then he had to do something with the other ones.
- 1:22:55[SPEAKER_00]: Do you remember when I told you that's where you thought I was.
- 1:22:57[SPEAKER_02]: I just wanted to.
- 1:22:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:22:59[SPEAKER_02]: There's a shoes.
- 1:23:00[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, maybe I pulled my friends here a little earlier.
- 1:23:02[SPEAKER_02]: I also, you can find them.
- 1:23:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:23:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:23:04[SPEAKER_02]: Complete sets of shoes.
- 1:23:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's revenge.
- 1:23:06[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah.
- 1:23:07[SPEAKER_02]: You're thinking big and I like that.
- 1:23:09[SPEAKER_00]: I want straight to fire.
- 1:23:10[SPEAKER_02]: There's no shoes to drop if they're all on fire.
- 1:23:14[UNKNOWN]: So.
- 1:23:16[SPEAKER_00]: I mean I'm helping him, I'm just gonna drop all of his shoes under the street.
- 1:23:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but only one of each pair.
- 1:23:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:23:23[SPEAKER_02]: I understand lower lies desire to be like, okay, why didn't you tell me?
- 1:23:28[SPEAKER_02]: Because I would do the same with Brett, like that's your person.
- 1:23:30[SPEAKER_02]: And you're like, okay, I need more information.
- 1:23:32[SPEAKER_02]: Why didn't you tell me?
- 1:23:33[SPEAKER_02]: But then, if you go on to, if Brett went on then to not implement me into that equation, I would be so confused as Laura is.
- 1:23:43[SPEAKER_02]: But that, to me, would just be a deal breaker.
- 1:23:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because I imagine that.
- 1:23:48[SPEAKER_00]: No, I actually can't.
- 1:23:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like, even watching it on the show where I don't even have to imagine it, I can watch it play out.
- 1:23:54[SPEAKER_00]: I can't imagine it because I think that that's two cons.
- 1:23:58[SPEAKER_00]: The first one is you didn't tell her.
- 1:24:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you didn't tell her that you had a daughter.
- 1:24:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like, truly the biggest con of all.
- 1:24:05[SPEAKER_00]: The biggest con of all.
- 1:24:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:24:07[SPEAKER_00]: But I think more than that, if there is one more than that, is that
- 1:24:11[SPEAKER_00]: you didn't bring that into our life.
- 1:24:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think that not telling her is one thing, but I think that he could have told her and been like, oh my gosh, so sorry, LOL, he didn't tell you what my daughter, but then integrate her into this new life change.
- 1:24:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like that's really what it is for me.
- 1:24:29[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.
- 1:24:31[SPEAKER_00]: I put that he distanced himself for her during his big life change when like that's what a partner is for that is you are getting married Probably because you like this person a lot, but because you've decided this is the person that is going to navigate all your life changes with you That like if something so overwhelming that like you have to postpone your wedding
- 1:24:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like a means to be like, hey, can I just distance myself from you as a whole?
- 1:24:57[SPEAKER_00]: Because this is all a lie?
- 1:24:58[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, you say, okay, well, let's take the big event out of our lives, but then come together because something that someone said in like explaining like, what it means to be all in, they said, your problems are now our problems.
- 1:25:14[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that it's just like a team thing of like we're on the same team.
- 1:25:18[SPEAKER_00]: We're like, I hate when people are like, of course, he's going to choose his daughter over his fiance.
- 1:25:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, you're forgetting how relationships work.
- 1:25:25[SPEAKER_00]: We're not choosing a child over a grown woman.
- 1:25:28[SPEAKER_00]: He's choosing not to bring Laura lie into his life that he's separating her from this decisions that he's making.
- 1:25:37[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't even matter if Laura lie.
- 1:25:39[SPEAKER_00]: is helping him make the decision.
- 1:25:41[SPEAKER_00]: Just walk it through with her.
- 1:25:43[SPEAKER_00]: She's her updated on things.
- 1:25:45[SPEAKER_00]: Tell her when she's going to be at the end or be at the diner.
- 1:25:48[SPEAKER_00]: Like when she has to sit there and listen to Lane explain how she and April were playing board games together.
- 1:25:55[SPEAKER_00]: She loves Lane, but Lane is an employee of Luke's.
- 1:25:58[SPEAKER_00]: Why can April be in Lane's life, but not lower-lies?
- 1:26:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's insane, and it doesn't even matter at this point if April is like an integral part of lower-lies life.
- 1:26:10[SPEAKER_00]: It matters that Luke and Laura-ly are figuring it out together.
- 1:26:14[SPEAKER_00]: And if what Luke needs is like space from it, he doesn't take space from lower-lie.
- 1:26:20[SPEAKER_00]: That's the thing, but it's so confusing to me.
- 1:26:23[SPEAKER_02]: that like do you know what I mean?
- 1:26:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm hearing what you're saying and I totally agree and I think it just like spider webs out into so many different cons.
- 1:26:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:26:30[SPEAKER_02]: For Luke and him.
- 1:26:32[SPEAKER_00]: There are like being the end to this.
- 1:26:34[SPEAKER_02]: This is agreed.
- 1:26:35[SPEAKER_02]: Him being the complete antithesis of what we
- 1:26:38[SPEAKER_02]: came here to discuss today.
- 1:26:40[SPEAKER_02]: Are you all in?
- 1:26:40[SPEAKER_02]: And the very fact that that shifted again, like as we said a thousand times on this podcast on Patreon whenever we talk about this We understand that like finding out you have a daughter who you've never knew about and she's 12 years old.
- 1:26:54[SPEAKER_02]: That's a massive life change But when you like what Laura like says in partings is I asked you to marry me and you said yes, you said yes, and that is a admit bit
- 1:27:05[SPEAKER_02]: I understand that, you know, per and an ordini, people get engaged all the time, but the commitment we have some other con I have, well, yeah, no, it doesn't stand up, we haven't even got there yet.
- 1:27:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's just a very fact that he didn't tell her and then after she does find out, he lets her find out on her own, which yes, he leaves her susceptible to find out on her own, which I hate.
- 1:27:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's so wonderful to hear this again.
- 1:27:32[SPEAKER_02]: I salates her from this girl, from him, even.
- 1:27:36[SPEAKER_02]: From him, yeah, and let's it infiltrate all the other aspects of their relationships so that by the time we get to a vineyard Valentine, he doesn't even get her gift.
- 1:27:47[SPEAKER_02]: He's complaining the entire time.
- 1:27:49[SPEAKER_02]: They have this whole long conversation that he doesn't even follow through on.
- 1:27:53[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yes, the list goes on and on and on until we get to the final straw which is him not defending her against Anna and Ardini.
- 1:28:01[SPEAKER_00]: If there's one thing that you're going to do to be all in is someone listed out a couple of qualities.
- 1:28:08[SPEAKER_00]: Let me read them out is exclusivity, effort, compromise, communication, prize prioritization and loyalty.
- 1:28:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I feel like in that moment,
- 1:28:17[SPEAKER_00]: He was not really loyal to Lorelai that like to hear the way that Anna and Ardini was speaking about Lorelai, even if Luke felt a men's skill, even if he felt this like kind of paranoia surrounding Anna because she didn't tell him he was like she's a lot of control over this.
- 1:28:34[SPEAKER_00]: She has a lot of control, she does have a lot of agency in the situation.
- 1:28:38[SPEAKER_00]: There's some moment to back up and be like, okay, the way that you're talking about this is not fair.
- 1:28:43[SPEAKER_00]: That is my fiance.
- 1:28:45[SPEAKER_00]: She is going to be my wife and she is going to be April's stepmother.
- 1:28:50[SPEAKER_00]: For all intensive purposes, regardless of the fact that you didn't tell me, we know now.
- 1:28:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'm her father.
- 1:28:56[SPEAKER_00]: This is her stepmother and you need to at least give her, like, speak about talk to respect.
- 1:29:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was given some respect to her.
- 1:29:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like, maybe we went about this
- 1:29:07[SPEAKER_00]: don't you think that all of those girls parents who they called the night before to tell them including you what you were on the phone we we made a phone call and everyone's parents knew if i if i called my mom and she's like oh is there mom there too yeah there is great my mom would not just be like the man at the diners there the father no my mom would want a woman present firstly put her you know what i mean
- 1:29:32[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it was a better energy.
- 1:29:34[SPEAKER_00]: But again, the loyalty to the blower lie really fell flat.
- 1:29:39[SPEAKER_02]: For me, that's the final straw.
- 1:29:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I think for the lore lie, I mean for lore lie it is, too.
- 1:29:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:29:44[SPEAKER_00]: We had a final straw and then turned out in the checker pocket.
- 1:29:47[SPEAKER_00]: There was another one.
- 1:29:49[SPEAKER_00]: And there's so many finals of straws here.
- 1:29:52[SPEAKER_00]: And that was that really to me, though.
- 1:29:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's crazy to say this, but that feels more not all in.
- 1:30:00[SPEAKER_00]: than not telling her about April.
- 1:30:03[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 1:30:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I just really think it's because like how you treat your partner.
- 1:30:08[SPEAKER_00]: You kept her, your daughter from her.
- 1:30:10[SPEAKER_00]: Bad.
- 1:30:11[SPEAKER_00]: Not good.
- 1:30:12[SPEAKER_00]: But eventually she found out and you guys can probably work through that.
- 1:30:15[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I could work through finding out that.
- 1:30:18[SPEAKER_00]: you prioritized her like perception of me over like defending me.
- 1:30:26[SPEAKER_01]: I agree.
- 1:30:26[SPEAKER_00]: I would be that would kind of be like a done deal for me.
- 1:30:30[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh, so you know the truth about me and she knows what you've told her, which is actually nothing because as it turns out she knows nothing about me.
- 1:30:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, doesn't even talk about me.
- 1:30:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm actually really glad I went and saw her because I found out a lot
- 1:30:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then he's gone.
- 1:30:50[SPEAKER_02]: He's right.
- 1:30:51[SPEAKER_02]: She just completely Why she talks to therapist one time and is like choose me or don't which is also a con Which I understand that she Acostaed him with like this, you know, hey, let's get let's a lope and he was like okay slow down We need to talk about this.
- 1:31:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's the whole conversation you went talk to Anna.
- 1:31:12[SPEAKER_02]: I told you not to do that.
- 1:31:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm supposed to do that
- 1:31:15[SPEAKER_00]: And she said, I'm sorry.
- 1:31:16[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, no, I'm done apologizing.
- 1:31:18[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, such a good conversation.
- 1:31:20[SPEAKER_00]: When we watched that with Brett, we watched it live with our Patreon members with the super cool party people and visitors trolleeps if you want to join your member and you want to go back and watch us watching it with Brett for the first time parting that is when he was like, egging her on during that speech.
- 1:31:35[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, yeah, he was like, bars bars bars.
- 1:31:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's part and Lucas has man he thought about this for days after work days But like very good reaction was like yes, make a roll.
- 1:31:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah until the world So Christopher he was very well.
- 1:31:48[SPEAKER_00]: Well, well, that's the this isn't about that.
- 1:31:52[SPEAKER_00]: This is this Tell us it away.
- 1:31:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we can talk about that some other time.
- 1:31:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, or we don't have to because this is our pod We don't have to talk about that
- 1:32:02[SPEAKER_00]: Ew, but yeah, so I guess how one is just not, maybe it's more so letting her get to a point where she felt like she was going to have a breakdown trying to talk to you.
- 1:32:11[SPEAKER_00]: Just lack of communication, lack of openness so that she felt like she could talk to you.
- 1:32:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:32:19[SPEAKER_00]: You caused her breakdown.
- 1:32:20[SPEAKER_02]: Not defending her, shaming her for talking to Anna.
- 1:32:24[SPEAKER_02]: The list goes on.
- 1:32:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm eating to her.
- 1:32:26[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 1:32:27[SPEAKER_02]: And that's why like the journey, I mean, we could talk about a year in the life.
- 1:32:30[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, we could talk about season seven, but it's not really canon.
- 1:32:34[SPEAKER_02]: But the journey between season five and six, I think like given where we start and where they place us down by partings, I think that Luke truly like to answer the question, Luke was all in.
- 1:32:46[SPEAKER_02]: until I think that the response you read to me about like he was all in given reading.
- 1:32:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they said he was all in for the variables he knew about, but then got thrown curveballs he couldn't handle.
- 1:33:00[SPEAKER_02]: Perfectly encapsulates the answer to was Luke Daines all in.
- 1:33:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think for me that answer was he thought he was on, but he didn't know what that entailed.
- 1:33:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think he meant it at the time though.
- 1:33:11[SPEAKER_02]: I really do.
- 1:33:12[SPEAKER_00]: No, he thought he was all in, and I think that he meant it, like he thought that that's what being all in was.
- 1:33:18[SPEAKER_00]: that he had had, this horror scope for eight years, that he had been pining for her, that he had watched her with everyone.
- 1:33:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like the town elder said that like Luke deserves this house.
- 1:33:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's watched lower like, go through all of these relationships.
- 1:33:29[SPEAKER_00]: He waited for her.
- 1:33:30[SPEAKER_00]: He waited for her.
- 1:33:31[SPEAKER_00]: He waited for her.
- 1:33:32[SPEAKER_00]: And now he has her and he ruined it because like, it's just who he is.
- 1:33:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I know a lot of people have a lot of,
- 1:33:39[SPEAKER_00]: Conce, as it comes to Luke in season six, I personally think this is the manifestation of this man Like this is how he would have handled this situation Someone said I believe he was all in but the writers didn't want him to be in in parentheses They said rage which I think is such an interesting like parasocial relationship
- 1:33:59[SPEAKER_00]: with a fictional character situation to feel more connected to the character than what the writers are giving you and telling you what the character would do.
- 1:34:06[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what I mean?
- 1:34:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's like that's not my character.
- 1:34:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but you're like, but I know this is what happened, though.
- 1:34:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's worth standing.
- 1:34:13[SPEAKER_02]: I agree with that.
- 1:34:13[SPEAKER_02]: I do agree with that because what Brett says is that like these characters do make decisions sometimes that are so out of character.
- 1:34:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's like what you do.
- 1:34:19[SPEAKER_02]: Are you saying that you feel like Luke was going to make these decisions no matter what that was within his character that we came to.
- 1:34:25[SPEAKER_02]: No love support route on up until the moment he says
- 1:34:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, okay.
- 1:34:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he didn't know he had too much baggage and didn't know how to hang out in a relationship like this.
- 1:34:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I just don't think he knew how to go into it.
- 1:34:38[SPEAKER_00]: And so by, like, I think I'm in the minority and feeling like this is really what Luke was like, this man didn't know how to communicate and so when it came to hard times,
- 1:34:47[SPEAKER_00]: He really didn't communicate.
- 1:34:48[SPEAKER_00]: He like did so more with his actions, but I think that a lot of the times like Laura Lyses, I really need to hear you say it sometimes in your Valentine.
- 1:34:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that that's really the core of Luke is like Luke is going to show you, but if he's not showing you, then he's not.
- 1:35:04[SPEAKER_00]: showing up he's not doing it and I think that's kind of where the April the April storyline really makes sense to me and how he handles it because it's he just doesn't know how to handle things really well but that the thing is is like I don't feel negatively towards this person's perspective because we do that all the time we're like this isn't
- 1:35:21[SPEAKER_00]: what our character would do.
- 1:35:22[SPEAKER_00]: We love them.
- 1:35:23[SPEAKER_00]: The writers, they don't know, but like at the same time you're like, this is it.
- 1:35:27[SPEAKER_00]: This is the text.
- 1:35:29[SPEAKER_00]: This is what we have to reference.
- 1:35:31[SPEAKER_00]: This is what happened.
- 1:35:32[SPEAKER_00]: But it's like, that's my man, my man, whenever.
- 1:35:35[SPEAKER_00]: But even I, Mrs. Logan Hansberger, can recognize a Yakko when I see one.
- 1:35:40[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that sometimes our favorite characters do let us down.
- 1:35:45[SPEAKER_00]: They do become the Yakko that the writers show us that they are.
- 1:35:48[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think that Lucas
- 1:35:51[SPEAKER_00]: You don't think that he has Jaco behavior when it comes to Ann and our Dini.
- 1:35:54[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
- 1:35:55[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think that's really just his deciding if he's a Jaco or not.
- 1:36:00[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, or is he a yako?
- 1:36:02[SPEAKER_00]: What is it?
- 1:36:02[SPEAKER_00]: What is the yako loser?
- 1:36:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yako loser.
- 1:36:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:36:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's a yako loser.
- 1:36:07[SPEAKER_00]: I do think he becomes a loser.
- 1:36:09[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 1:36:09[SPEAKER_00]: And I do think he becomes a yako.
- 1:36:11[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think overall he is a yako loser.
- 1:36:13[SPEAKER_00]: I feel the same about, though, again.
- 1:36:15[SPEAKER_00]: By the end, I don't think that Luke is a yako loser.
- 1:36:19[SPEAKER_00]: But that he has some yako loser tendencies.
- 1:36:23[SPEAKER_02]: I think that he has some.
- 1:36:26[SPEAKER_02]: And that's our show folks.
- 1:36:30[SPEAKER_02]: that he lets the fans down.
- 1:36:33[SPEAKER_02]: He lets the audience down because it's definitely one of those Tyra Banks.
- 1:36:36[SPEAKER_02]: We were rooting for you.
- 1:36:37[SPEAKER_02]: We were all rooting for you.
- 1:36:39[SPEAKER_02]: We could have one of those moments with almost every single character on the show.
- 1:36:43[SPEAKER_00]: For sure.
- 1:36:43[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that that.
- 1:36:45[SPEAKER_02]: is the beautiful thing and why we're able to have a podcast about the show is because they wrote such dynamic characters who make choices that A sometimes feel out of character and B are going to upset people.
- 1:36:54[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the show so timeless.
- 1:36:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's real.
- 1:36:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's real.
- 1:36:58[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes I do think that we make choices that also feel out of character and like you know, we were watching you would be like, what the fuck did you?
- 1:37:05[SPEAKER_00]: That's the thing.
- 1:37:06[SPEAKER_02]: Like I was reading you, loser yoko decisions in my life.
- 1:37:09[SPEAKER_02]: So it's my partner.
- 1:37:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like I touch it.
- 1:37:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's not my pool.
- 1:37:13[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
- 1:37:15[SPEAKER_00]: No, but like in the grand scheme, like I was just having Anxiety spiral last night thinking of all my loser yoko decisions.
- 1:37:21[SPEAKER_00]: It happened.
- 1:37:22[SPEAKER_00]: Do I do all my life by them?
- 1:37:23[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 1:37:24[SPEAKER_00]: But if you're watching a TV show of my life, you would maybe what?
- 1:37:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you would.
- 1:37:29[SPEAKER_02]: Boy would you ever?
- 1:37:30[SPEAKER_02]: But boiling it back down to the question of, was Luke Daines all in, I think it is such a complicated answer.
- 1:37:37[SPEAKER_02]: But I think the one that you read earlier, perfectly encapsulates it.
- 1:37:41[SPEAKER_02]: If you guys feel differently, or if you have some other pros, cons,
- 1:37:47[SPEAKER_02]: things that you feel should have been added to this list.
- 1:37:50[SPEAKER_02]: Give us some help.
- 1:37:51[SPEAKER_02]: Let us know.
- 1:37:52[SPEAKER_02]: What did the tally come out to?
- 1:37:53[SPEAKER_02]: If you don't mind.
- 1:37:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, tally.
- 1:37:56[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
- 1:37:57[SPEAKER_00]: I will see.
- 1:37:58[SPEAKER_00]: I do want to find that besties handle and be like you have this is this perfect congratulations.
- 1:38:04[SPEAKER_00]: You have saved this episode.
- 1:38:06[SPEAKER_00]: You have found the true answer.
- 1:38:08[SPEAKER_00]: Um, because I don't, I think it's complicated, but I think it's complicated in the sense that it's quite direct of like, yeah, this really encapsulates what it was, because I think the answer is no but, you know what I mean?
- 1:38:19[SPEAKER_02]: Or you think it's yes, but, yes, and yeah, and that's why my initial answer was yes until I got it.
- 1:38:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think it could go either way, but it's not, it's not, it's definitely not, yes.
- 1:38:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's not an emphatic guest and it's not an emphatic no for us.
- 1:38:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, something else that well not for us But something else that made me laugh is when I asked people to explain why or why not he was all in someone just said yes period
- 1:38:42[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 1:38:43[SPEAKER_01]: Well, explain why or why not.
- 1:38:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:38:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:38:47[SPEAKER_00]: So they, I don't know how to say it.
- 1:38:48[SPEAKER_00]: I enjoyed this episode much, but I hope you heard us out.
- 1:38:52[SPEAKER_00]: But the tally came out to be, so I just want to, let me go through the last couple of cons just to make sure because we were talking about a lot of things.
- 1:38:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:38:59[SPEAKER_00]: I put then your Valentine in its entirety.
- 1:39:02[SPEAKER_00]: He was such a yaku loser in that episode.
- 1:39:04[SPEAKER_02]: You was like, oh my gosh, that's really a lot of people don't like that episode.
- 1:39:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'd love that episode, of course, but I do, but you know, I like it to hold.
- 1:39:11[SPEAKER_00]: And it's maybe I just love a Yuckel Lucer.
- 1:39:12[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's got to unpack that somewhere.
- 1:39:15[SPEAKER_02]: You had two in this episode, so.
- 1:39:18[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, well, just have to say we're going to unpack that therapy therapy.
- 1:39:21[SPEAKER_00]: Our next podcast.
- 1:39:22[SPEAKER_00]: But then I put Anna and Ardini just in general like the way that he treated her around Anna.
- 1:39:28[SPEAKER_00]: And then I put it for 15, which is where we're at, that she had to defend herself in that conversation and he was being kind of mean to her in their kind of street fight that he'd let it get to a street fight.
- 1:39:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't know how to like break it down past that.
- 1:39:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think that number 16 would be that he let her walk away.
- 1:39:44[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my goodness.
- 1:39:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that's kind of how it ends.
- 1:39:48[SPEAKER_00]: He lets her walk away.
- 1:39:50[SPEAKER_00]: He lets her walk away and I know that at the beginning of season seven he comes with his truck and he's like, I'm ready now Little too late little too late, and I don't know what Amy would have done I don't necessarily want to get into season seven because we would just drop in like with just con after con after con after con Con con con.
- 1:40:06[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he punch Chris is that being all in That's not out there, but he did do that like he made the tent for Royce party
- 1:40:14[SPEAKER_00]: which is like such a pro, but they're not together at this point, so I don't want to add it.
- 1:40:18[SPEAKER_00]: But do we add to the con when he's like so meaner in the revival?
- 1:40:24[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't want to get into everything in the revival, but like, you know, I just like to say if that for another episode and maybe if you could get more to consider about this, because I do have some cons for a year in the life, but I really did think like just focusing on seasons five and six on their original artist.
- 1:40:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because
- 1:40:43[SPEAKER_02]: but I think we'd need to save that for her.
- 1:40:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think so too, because I didn't write them down.
- 1:40:48[SPEAKER_00]: I only went through seasons five and six, but just thinking about that they hadn't gotten married and the conversation about kids and everything that went there, I'm like, this is just being all in.
- 1:40:58[SPEAKER_02]: Him blaming her for keeping their life separate.
- 1:41:00[SPEAKER_02]: Him never, the man never initiating a proposal.
- 1:41:02[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I could go on and on and on about.
- 1:41:05[SPEAKER_02]: really like seeing through the definition of all in through the revival.
- 1:41:10[SPEAKER_02]: I know they eventually get married and that's amazing.
- 1:41:13[SPEAKER_02]: Wonderful.
- 1:41:13[SPEAKER_02]: Spectacular.
- 1:41:14[SPEAKER_02]: Love it for you.
- 1:41:15[SPEAKER_02]: Best wishes to the bride.
- 1:41:16[SPEAKER_02]: Best wishes to the bride and congratulations to the groom.
- 1:41:19[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know that you weren't it.
- 1:41:20[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that you're isolating it two seasons five and six.
- 1:41:25[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's kind of where we feels the mouth authentic too.
- 1:41:29[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 1:41:29[SPEAKER_00]: when he's.
- 1:41:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:41:31[SPEAKER_00]: Because when they break up, he's famously no longer Ellen.
- 1:41:36[SPEAKER_00]: He is up.
- 1:41:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:41:36[SPEAKER_00]: Either of them are.
- 1:41:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:41:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm all out.
- 1:41:39[SPEAKER_00]: So where does that put us?
- 1:41:41[SPEAKER_00]: So we have 18 pros and 16 cons.
- 1:41:44[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that the cons just
- 1:41:47[SPEAKER_00]: They just outweigh the pros, like in half.
- 1:41:51[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you're telling me we're putting CD preferences against telling worry about the engagement or not trusting Lorae when Chris calls and like running away.
- 1:42:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like some of those, I'm just like, you know, he'll do relationship with snow, but like you broke her relationship with you.
- 1:42:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:42:08[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's hard to like put it in a number of things, but like I think in terms of weight,
- 1:42:16[SPEAKER_02]: The answer is more complicated than that, but I think the prose start out heavy and get thinner, cons start out thinner and get heavier.
- 1:42:23[SPEAKER_00]: So we're having a little less hour glass, a little little bit.
- 1:42:26[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:27[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:27[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:28[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:29[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:29[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:30[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:30[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:31[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:31[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:31[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:32[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:32[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:33[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:34[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:34[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:35[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:35[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:36[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:36[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:36[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:37[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:37[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:38[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:38[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:38[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:39[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:39[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit.
- 1:42:39[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:40[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:40[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:41[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:41[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:41[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:42[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:42[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:42[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:43[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:43[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:43[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:43[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:44[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:44[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:44[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit.
- 1:42:45[SPEAKER_02]: about Lou Daines and whether or not he was all in.
- 1:42:48[SPEAKER_02]: And I think we landed on the pretty, a pretty perfect answer.
- 1:42:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think so too.
- 1:42:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'll have to find that besties handle and really shout them out for that one because excellent, excellent answer.
- 1:42:58[SPEAKER_00]: I loved this format, making a pro-conlist.
- 1:43:00[SPEAKER_00]: I want to make a pro-conlist about everything.
- 1:43:02[SPEAKER_02]: That was so great.
- 1:43:03[SPEAKER_02]: Pro-conlist about some other stuff this year.
- 1:43:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:43:05[SPEAKER_00]: Very popular.
- 1:43:06[SPEAKER_02]: Very popular at home.
- 1:43:07[SPEAKER_02]: We do.
- 1:43:07[SPEAKER_02]: We do.
- 1:43:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's only the start.
- 1:43:09[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 1:43:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, do not mock my pro-conlist.
- 1:43:11[SPEAKER_00]: We won't.
- 1:43:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'll indulge in it on a phone.
- 1:43:14[SPEAKER_00]: Good, perfect.
- 1:43:15[SPEAKER_02]: As always, if you liked this episode, feel free to give us a rating on Spotify, Apple, wherever you listen to your podcast.

- 1:43:33[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, really fun times on Instagram.
- 1:43:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's a silly goofy time over there, but also it's the best way to keep up with updates that maybe are more timely than the podcasts because we do record about two weeks in advance.
- 1:43:44[SPEAKER_00]: So it's something you can participate right now.
- 1:43:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:43:48[SPEAKER_00]: Also participate.
- 1:43:50[SPEAKER_00]: I want you in the polls.
- 1:43:51[SPEAKER_00]: I want you in these comments.
- 1:43:52[SPEAKER_00]: The question box is, yeah, you can be the star of the episode.
- 1:43:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's true.
- 1:43:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like this bestie, who I would look at by some perfect answer.
- 1:43:59[SPEAKER_00]: I saw my phone, so I can't see it.
- 1:44:02[SPEAKER_00]: You are the stars of this episode, Bessie.
- 1:44:04[SPEAKER_00]: You are the best sea of the month.
- 1:44:05[SPEAKER_00]: Do we should make besties of the month?
- 1:44:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we should.
- 1:44:08[SPEAKER_02]: A little superlative.
- 1:44:09[SPEAKER_02]: A little more certificate.
- 1:44:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:44:11[SPEAKER_00]: You are the best sea of the month.
- 1:44:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's like an employee of the month.
- 1:44:14[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't come with a cash tip, like with Jess.
- 1:44:16[SPEAKER_02]: But we'll talk about it.
- 1:44:17[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe a little certificate.
- 1:44:19[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe.
- 1:44:19[SPEAKER_02]: It could be a lot of fun.
- 1:44:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:44:21[SPEAKER_02]: Next week is going to be a Gilmour to Watch.
- 1:44:23[SPEAKER_02]: Very exciting.
- 1:44:24[SPEAKER_02]: Ooh.
- 1:44:25[SPEAKER_02]: Little terror.
- 1:44:26[SPEAKER_02]: A little solo terror episode about rom-coms.
- 1:44:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll have more to say on that in the next episode.
