- 1:22SPEAKER_01: And I just pray over every single listener protection over them as I intercede on their behalf and just um rebuke any demonic attack that is over their lives, praying protection over them, praying that you will shine your light upon them and that you will f shine your favor upon them, Lord, that you will give them peace wherever they are.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: Amen.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: Alright, so today, um the Lord has been laying this whole topic on my heart.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: And so we're gonna jump on in of being a mommy in Christ and and what that looks like of you know, being a mommy who's in faith.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: And before I even get started on um the meat and potatoes of the message, I really wanna start by just telling you a few small testimonies of things that I've gone through of mom life when, you know, mom life was overwhelming me.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, there've been many, many times.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm gonna share a few, right?
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: But I'm a mom and there've been many times, I'm sure we can all relate, countless times, where it's chaotic and we're overstimulated, we're frustrated, for whatever reason, we start to lose our character.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: Um, and you know, we are in a moment where we need to fix it.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: Um, and whether we lose our cool in the moment and we lose our character and we have to come back and apologize for the destruction that we caused in the time, or whether we're just burnout and we're on autopilot, you know, there's so many different reactions that we have to these moments.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: And I just want to share a few because I want you to know that I go through them too, and it's not just you.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: Um, and it's not just me and you.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: There's so many of us who go through things like this.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna start out by um I um if any of you follow me on social media, I posted the other day um a series of stories, or on TikTok, if you've seen me there, I posted as a little story of um so the the past two days I was homesick with my daughter because she was sick and teething and all the things.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: And so I had to call out and I was home with her, and I was like, I need to do my devotion time.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: I was feeling anxious, um, and I was like, no, you know what, the devil wants me to skip my devotion time.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: We're not doing that, I need it now more than ever.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: Um so I decided to pull out the Bible, and you know, I'm sitting on the couch, and I really just decided to let the Lord guide my my time, and I had been feeling called in my heart lately to um get into towards the end of Proverbs, and so that's where I was, and um well the baby was being clingy and she was whiny, and I was trying to give her some toys and trying to give her her water cup and a couple snacks, and she wasn't having it, it wasn't sufficing, and she wanted to sit in my lap, so I'm like, alright, so I let her sit in my lap and I continue reading the Bible, you know, I gave her her Binky, and she's like not chilling out.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: Um she's just about nine months old, so she's in that active baby stage, and so I for a quick second was like, dude, you're bugging.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: I'm just trying to read my Bible, and for a quick second, I definitely was like discouraged that I'm trying to have this intimate time with the Lord, and here she is bugging and getting into everything and trying to turn the pages on the Bible and crumple them up and grabbing my highlighter and all the things.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: And the Lord laid it on my heart and he was like, play worship music.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: So I did, and I prayed, and let me tell you what, the Lord was revealing so many beautiful crumbs, so not even crumbs, just good chunks, I won't I guess.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: So I don't know, I just felt different.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: I prayed and I and I invited the Lord and his presence there with me, and all of a sudden I feel him speaking to my heart, and what a blessing, what a beautiful opportunity to show my baby the Bible to sh to let her get familiar with the Bible, to let her see that mommy sits in her Bible and it's important to her, and she makes time, and even when you know, if you put your feet in in your kid's shoes and you say, even when you know I want attention and she's doing other things, she makes time to read her Bible, and how important that was that I was training her and teaching her and modeling for her reading her Bible, and so all of a sudden that stress, that overwhelming feeling was gone.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: I no longer felt stressed, overstimulated, frustrated with her.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: I was immediately at peace.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: I was immediately so filled with joy that I was able to sit and do devotion time with her, and so I started reading scripture out loud, and she was interested.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: Now, granted, she's a nine-month-old baby, and the attention span didn't last forever.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: But she was interested and she was happy that she was included.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: That's all she cared.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: All she wanted to do was what mommy was doing.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: And so as I started to read the scripture, I let her play with the highlighter, she stick it in her mouth, you know, and and when I needed my highlighter, I'd take it back from her for a minute.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: It's a highlight a verse or two, and I just was eye-opened.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: I had never felt this way before.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: I had never felt so at peace with you know this moment, and I was like, this is probably the most beautiful moment I've had.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: Now, the I have read my Bible with my baby before.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: I have done that.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: Um, most of the time, I will say that it is early in the morning when I'm still in bed, and she's still like super lovey and clingy, and so it's like cute devotion time.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: I'm sure you guys can really, at least some of you can as moms, you know, like early in the morning.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: They're still cute and cuddly, and so um, you know, it's all honeymoon phasey.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: And so, anyway, that's kind of what that normally is like.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: And so the other day it was like, you know, late morning, she's full-on active, free-range chicken, as my friend says it.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: And so, um, I just was so changed, and I thank God for for that, and truthfully, he's what led me to write this message.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: Um, and then I want to say, honestly, today, honestly, um, but also last week, there were two specific times recently.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: I was coming home.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: I get home from work at five.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: I just to paint a very quick picture.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm a teacher, and uh I feel like if you're a returning listener, then you have heard me mention that before.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: Um I'm a teacher at elementary school, I deal with behavioral students, and so for example, today and the same occurrence last week, um, oddly enough, I was having a rough day.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: The kids were being crazy, they were, you know, having some temper tantrums, they were having some crises, you know, it was a long day that was draining my social battery, and so I come home, I don't get home until five, and you know, I have to cook, and I've gotta unpack from the day, repack for tomorrow, um, feed the baby, cook dinner, straighten up the house.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: Um, it was bath night, it was Bible study night, and I was just like, oh my gosh, I was so overwhelmed, and she was fussy, and I'm like, dude, like all this other stuff, and you're fussy, like I can't, you know, and you're trying to put her down, and I'm trying to have her content and playing with toys on the floor, she's not.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: Trying to give her a snack in her high chair, she don't want it.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: Trying to, you know, sit her on the counter next to me and let her play with the spoon while I'm stirring dinner, she don't want it.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: She just wants to be held.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: And of course, it's when you've got everything on your plate.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: Of course, they want to be clingy, and when you've got all this stuff on your plate and you're so overwhelmed, you just get frustrated, you're overstimulated, you just ah, right?
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: So I felt like that.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: And the Lord was like, You were being really negative, and that was some conviction.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: And I knew I was negative, I didn't like it, and I didn't know how to fix it, and so I prayed and took the edge off, and then I'm like, okay, I still don't really feel better.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: You know, I feel better when she's not crying, so that didn't really help.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: And so, like it did, but you know, it didn't, it wasn't night and day.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, you know what?
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna invite the Lord's presence with me.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: So I turn on some worship music, that's my favorite thing to do, is I pray, you know, as I I turn on worship music, and then I usually like pray, and then I usually start actually worshiping, not just having it on, but like genuinely like worshiping the Lord and accepting his presence in the room.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: And I started doing that, and all of a sudden I started feeling better.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: I was no longer stressed, I no longer was angry.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: I all of a sudden I felt at peace.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: Now, granted, I still had all these things to do.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: It's not like the Lord just snapped his fingers and took all my giant laundry to-do list away.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: It's not like the baby was night and day all of a sudden happy.
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: But I was happy, I was at joy, I could feel the Lord's peace, and I felt his peace.
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: And I was just like, oh my gosh, I don't feel angry anymore.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: I feel full of joy that I have the opportunity to spend time with my baby, to worship the Lord, and cook dinner and provide for my family at the same time without being overwhelmed because I have the Lord's presence here was beautiful, and it changed my entire mood.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: And I'm gonna be honest, after a worship song or two of worshiping the Lord and being in a better mood, so was the baby.
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: And it turned around and ended up being a nice time.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: Now, I'm not gonna sit here and lie and say that that didn't mean that the baby didn't start crying and I got a little overwhelmed, you know, here and there, because I did, but overall, it was such a better experience.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: And so those are just some two small things that are testimonies recently, but I just want you to know that you're not alone, you're not the only one that battles these moments, you're not the only one that battles these hard, struggling times or even seasons.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: Like, I'll say I'm in a season right now that the Lord is teaching me to slow down.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: And I always, uh as were moms, there's the laundry list of things to do, the honeydew list, whatever you call it, never goes away.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: Never goes away.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Between being a mom and you know, running around doing all the things, whether you have a spouse or not, you know, that um adds to the mix of trying to spend time with them and trying to ask them how their day was, and you know, trying to include them, cooperate them, trying to cook dinner, trying to straighten up, you know, getting ready for the next day, whether it's laundry or bath night, or you know, whether they go to school or daycare and you've got papers to sign or you know, homework to do or bags to unpack and repack.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: Maybe you go to the gym and you've got that to you know do or lunches to pack, all the things, and it the list never ends, right?
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: And so I just want to let you know that you're not alone.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: All moms f are busy non-stop, truthfully.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: We always have something to do, and I just want you to know that you're not alone when you feel overwhelmed and you get angry and frustrated and upset and agitated at small things, and you get frustrated with yourself because you're like, I don't want to be agitated, but I am because I got all this stuff to do.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: You're not the only one, and I really want to take this and shift it because this doesn't have to be our narrative.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: We don't have to be that overwhelmed mom 24-7 who always has you know her hair in a messy button, and she's just struggling to make every minute count.
- 14:18SPEAKER_01: And we don't have to sit there and say that's our life.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: No, I I can't sit here and promise you that we're not gonna have these moments again because we a hundred percent are, but I can promise you that shifting our perspective after today, I really hope, changes your stress level on how we walk in faith as mommies, and how different we can feel and and move when we look at our faith.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: Um, and so like I said, the Lord's really been like laying it on my heart, touching me with these moments, um, telling me to slow down, he's been forcing me to slow down, just like I said, with my baby being sick.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: I definitely think that was I needed to be forced to slow down.
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: Luckily, the baby wasn't super sick, she just had a cold, but it was mixed with a teeting episode, so that was fun.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: Um, but I was forced to slow down, and and the Lord was teaching me some things, and by slowing down and inviting him in his presence to do mom life with you, it's beautiful, right?
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: And I know the famous verse, we've probably all heard it.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: Philippians 4 13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: You know, it's on shirts, it's on decor, it's on all the things.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: That saying, that it's not saying that verse is not just like referencing um sports achievements.
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: It's not just referencing, you know, hey, I can do it all.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: I can have all the laundry list because I have the Lord.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: Yes, this is true.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: But it's as I don't know if if if you're a returning listener, then you might have heard me say this before.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: Um I I've I've referenced this this concept uh so many times.
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: You we can do all things through Christ.
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: Not because of Christ, yes, it's because of Christ, yes, it's for Christ, but through him, through his love, through his grace, through his mercy, through his patience, through his peace, through his goodness, through his self-control, through his kindness that he has for us, that strengthens us.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: Through him, because we have him in his presence, we are strengthened because we have him who lives in us, who is a temple inside of us.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: But we can't just say this verse to ourselves and expect it to make a difference.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: We can't just see it on our kitchen wall and be like, okay, yep, mm-hmm I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, and now I can juggle dinner and giving the kid a bath all about myself.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: No, it doesn't work that way.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: It's how we move in our motherhood.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: It is what we think of in the heat of the moment.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: It is where our focus is in the midst of the struggle.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: It's catching ourselves and saying, wait, I'm overwhelmed, I'm doing this without the Lord.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: Let me recenter.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: Let me refocus.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: Let me remember that I can do anything.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: I can do this hard thing, I can do this overwhelming thing, I can do this frustrating thing, I can have this frustrating season, this overwhelming season, and I can do it through God's love and strength for me.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: And you know, regardless of your parenting style, let me just say this.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: It does not matter what your parenting style is, there is always space for the Lord, there is always space to be a faith-filled mom.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: I don't care what you see on TikTok or Instagram, you're like, that's not how I parent my kid, that is fine.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: There are many people on social media who do, you know, stand for being women and moms of faith who are gentle parents, and then you see people who aren't, and it's totally okay.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: Whatever your parenting style is, it doesn't matter.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: We can have space for the Lord and our motherhood, and it's different for every single one of us.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: And I'm gonna give some examples here on how we can make space for the Lord in our motherhood.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: Just like my um testimony a little bit ago.
- 19:01SPEAKER_01: Maybe you're doing devotion with your children, maybe you're praising and worshiping them during cooking dinner.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: Maybe you're praying aloud with your kids.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: Maybe you're having a tough time.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: You've got one saying, Mommy, mommy, mommy.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: You've got one who's in the top of where cabinets making a bunch of ruckus.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: You got one who's mad in the bedroom.
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: You've got a husband who's asking you, where the did you switch over the laundry and what goes where?
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: And you're you got dinner sizzling on the stove.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: Look, that's a perfect moment to pray out loud with the kids.
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: Pray out loud with your husband.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: Pray out loud, write that in there as a mommy, and say, I can model what my faith looks like.
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: Pray aloud, write that in there.
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: Get whether you get on your hands and knees, whether you bow your head and close your hands over the counter, whatever.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: Model because it's genuinely okay that we feel upset and we want our kids to know that it's okay to feel upset sometimes.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: It's okay to be worked up, it's okay to be overwhelmed and frustrated.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: However, it is how we handle it, it is how we handle that emotion that matters.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: Our kids see that.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: Our kids see how we handle our anger, our kids see how we handle our sadness, our overstimulation, our frustration, our laughter.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: They see how we handle our emotions, and so in this moment, it is a beautiful opportunity to say, I'm going to show them how to fix this, how to deal with your emotion.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: Stop right there, wherever you are, with your kids in the room.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: Close your eyes, bow your head, fold your hands, and pray out loud.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: Because it's how and where we run.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: Letting them see that every time it gets rough, you run to Jesus.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: That you run to Jesus every time things are chaotic and you're overwhelmed or you're overstimulated or you're mad.
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: Pray.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: And maybe over time you can incorporate them.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: Maybe you can allow space for them to add to the prayer.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: That is a beautiful teaching moment.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: I will say that's something I was recently convicted of because I am guilty of coming in the room.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: And like, I'll be real honest.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: There's so many times I get overwhelmed or frustrated, and I'm like, I'll say to my husband, I gotta go.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: I'll be right back.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: I gotta go pray.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: And I I will, and I'll come in the room and I'll shut the door and I'll spend a good five minutes on my knees praying, getting it my getting my life together with the Lord, recentering my life before I go back out there and I can behave and act and be the wife and the mom that they need me to be.
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: Because I have to come back and I have to say, let me put my eyes on Jesus.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: But you know I was convicted not to come back and hide.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: Yes, the Lord does teach us that we do need to have an intimate, closed off relationship.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: Not closed off, an intimate relationship that we do come and hide sometimes.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: But it's also okay to model that for our children.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: You know, in Proverbs 22, verse 6, it's a famous verse.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: It's something I've really been leaning into lately.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: Train your children in the way that they should go, and even when they're old, they will not depart from it.
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: And it's really about shifting our perspective.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: We get to.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: I want you to start saying that to yourself.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: We get to.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: I get to.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: For example, I get to provide and clean the dishes because that means my babies are fed.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: I get to, I'm gonna say, is a little another mini testimony.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: Wednesdays are Bible study nights for me, and it's just always a stressful evening.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: I get home late and I've got two hours to cook and clean and straighten up the house and feed the baby.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: And if my husband works late, then I gotta give her a bath and prepare my Bible study notes.
- 23:05SPEAKER_01: And if people are coming over or whether it's on Zoom, I gotta get a snack ready and you know I gotta get changed so I don't look like I've been running ragged at work or whatever, and it's a lot.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: And you know what?
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: And the Lord was laying all my heart, you know what?
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: No, I get to host, I don't know what the accent was going on there.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: I get to host Bible study.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: This is a privilege.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: This is a blessing.
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: It is a blessing.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: Honey, don't I know it sometimes it really is gonna take time?
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: I get to do the dishes.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: I get to do the laundry.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: Dirty laundry means that I have a full house full of love, full of running around.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: Think about what that dirty piece of clothing is.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: Hold up your kid's dirty shirt.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: Think about that.
- 23:56SPEAKER_01: They had a good day.
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: They got mac and cheese all over their shirt.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: They were painting at school.
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: And you get to be a part of that.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: You get to be the one that folds their clothes and makes sure their clothes smell good.
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: They remember that.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: I don't know about you, but I sure do.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: I had a lot of trauma from my childhood, but let me tell you what, I'll never forget the way my mom folded my laundry.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: Man, it was always so warm and cozy and it would smell so good.
- 24:23SPEAKER_01: Ugh.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: They remember that.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: You get to do that for them.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: You get to do the dishes because that means that they have full tummies.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: You get to provide for them.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: It is a privilege.
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: We get to.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: What a blessing.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: I encourage you with that today.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: I want to wrap up.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: And as I finish up, I want to add some scriptures on sometimes when we're in the thick of it.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: What the Lord has to tell us and remember.
- 25:11SPEAKER_01: When we're in those seasons or moments or days of mommy life.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: This is my favorite one, and I probably this is also one that I use like so much.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: So much.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: I swear I've used it in probably half my episodes.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: Seriously, I love this verse so much.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: And it's it's something that I feel like every time I read it, it could have so many.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: And the rivers will not overwhelm you.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, and the flame will not burn you.
- 25:49SPEAKER_01: Let me say something real fast.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: The Lord did not say you're not gonna go through the water.
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: He did not say you're not gonna go through the fire.
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: He did not say you're not gonna go through hard times.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: Honey, he did not say that you're not gonna have times where you're overwhelmed with your kids.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: We don't live in heaven yet.
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: We're gonna have times.
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: But what he says is when we go through those times, I will be with you.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: You won't drown, you won't be burnt up.
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: I'm there, I will get you through it.
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: It will be tough, but I will get you through it, and I will be there with you.
- 26:24SPEAKER_01: And I just I encourage you with that.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: Write that down on the index card, and I encourage you today to put that somewhere in your house on where is the place that you get most overwhelmed.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's in the bathroom during bath time, maybe it's in the kitchen during cooking time, maybe it's in the living room during cleaning time, maybe it's in your bedroom, maybe it's in the kids' bedroom.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: Think about a room in the house that you always seem to be the most overwhelmed.
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: And I want you to write that verse down and I want you to put it there.
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: So that way you have a good reminder and of you know what?
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: The Lord is with me.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be tough, but the Lord's gonna get me through it.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: I got two more verses for you.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: Deuteronomy chapter 6, verse 7 says, Repeat the words I give to you.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: Wait, hold on.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: Let me try that again.
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: Repeat the words that I give to your children.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: Talk about them when you sit in your house, when you will walk along the road, and when you lie down and when you get up.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: The Lord says, Talk about what I've taught you to your kids.
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: He says it basically think about it.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: He says all the time.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: Think about it, talk about it all the time.
- 27:41SPEAKER_01: He says, when you're sitting around at your house, when you're taking a walk along the road, when you're laying down at night, when you get up in the morning, when you get up in the morning, do devotion.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: When you lay down at night, pray before you go to bed.
- 27:53SPEAKER_01: When you're taking a walk with the kids, talk about Jesus.
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: Talk about what's going on at school.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: How can they be the light of school?
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: How can you minister to the kids while you're on a walk?
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: Maybe you're sitting around, maybe you're enjoying cartoons.
- 28:05SPEAKER_01: How can you incorporate Jesus into this conversation?
- 28:10SPEAKER_01: How can you bring Jesus into the home?
- 28:13SPEAKER_01: How can you model for them what a relationship with Jesus looks like?
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: I want to say this.
- 28:18SPEAKER_01: We need to start normalizing that, you know, yes, it is important, and yes, it's it's it's beneficial to have baby kids Bible story books.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: Yes, those are awesome.
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: But that's not gonna do it all.
- 28:36SPEAKER_01: Taking your kid to Sunday, yeah, that's gonna help, but it is not gonna do it all.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: They're not gonna teach that's not gonna do it all.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: You've got to do the work.
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: You've got to show them what it means to have a relationship with Jesus.
- 28:54SPEAKER_01: I encourage you today, regardless of how you were saved, I encourage you overall a generational curse.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: I wanna say so many people come from families where Christianity was not a relationship with Jesus, it was just rules.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: It was just because you had to.
- 29:19SPEAKER_01: There was no connection.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: There was no full reliance, full submission, full dependence.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: We missed that part.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: We miss doing life with Jesus.
- 29:30SPEAKER_01: I encourage you to break that chain.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: Talk about Jesus all the time with your kids.
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: Put worship music on on a Saturday afternoon when you're scrubbing the toilet.
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: Sing.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: Let them know what worship is.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: On your way to work in the morning, maybe it's your Jesus rap, and you're worshiping in your Jesus rap, and you're getting Mike Teasy up in there, and you're getting brays and brays and gray, I think.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: You're getting him up in there.
- 30:01SPEAKER_01: Get them saturated in Jesus and his word and his presence and the relationship and what it's like when you run to him.
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: That they know how to talk to Jesus, that they know that they can talk to Jesus, not just God is great, God is good, let me thank me for my food.
- 30:29SPEAKER_01: But hey Jesus, I'm having a hard time today.
- 30:32SPEAKER_01: Sophie is being mean to me on the swings, and I want and I don't want to be nice to her, and my feelings are hurt.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: Help me love Sophie.
- 30:47SPEAKER_01: That I'm getting carried away.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: I got one more verse.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in true faith.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: He doesn't just mean your children.
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: You are his child.
- 31:08SPEAKER_01: There's no greater joy to hear that you, as his child, is walking in true truth, and true faith.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: And truth.
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: That brings him great joy.
- 31:21SPEAKER_01: And it brings him joy when you walk in truth, and you walk in true faith as you as a child of God.
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: And then you raise up your legacy, your children, to know the truth, to have true faith.
- 31:36SPEAKER_01: There's no greater joy.
- 31:37SPEAKER_01: That brings him the most praise and the most worship ever.
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: Let me say this.
- 31:42SPEAKER_01: I I I don't know if you've seen it on on social media, but it's it is something that I've been seeing, and I'm so like amazed, and I'm so grateful that like we are bringing more awareness to it.
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: That worship is not just singing.
- 31:57SPEAKER_01: It is doing his ministry.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: Doing his ministry is raising your children.
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: That is his ministry.
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: That is your first ministry.
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: Raising your children up to be followers of Christ, to be doers of Christ, to be disciples, to have godly heart.
- 32:20SPEAKER_01: That is your first ministry.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: And teaching them that there's nothing, there's nothing better.
- 32:30SPEAKER_01: Now, real quick, and then I'm gonna close up in prayer.
- 32:35SPEAKER_01: I just want you to say, it's not gonna be all cutesy and rainbows, okay?
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: We just talked about earlier the these these hard times, these hard moments, these overwhelmed situations.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna say, just before I recorded this episode, right before I put my baby to bed.
- 32:48SPEAKER_01: Well, my husband put her to bed, but still, um, we were eating dinner and she was getting frustrated and she starts flinging her cup across the room because I wasn't feeding her fast enough.
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: I gave her mac and cheese, she ate all her mac and cheese on the tray, and she wanted more, and she ate it all, so then I started giving her puffs, and I'm like, well crap, I'm trying to finish, I'm trying to eat my dinner now, and she already ate her dinner and she's smacking.
- 33:11SPEAKER_01: She she's being real aggressive.
- 33:13SPEAKER_01: She wants more, she's smacking it, ah, ah, throwing her cup at me.
- 33:16SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, girl, honey, I rebuke you.
- 33:20SPEAKER_01: What you doing?
- 33:21SPEAKER_01: Rebuking the devil right now.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: What you acting like that for?
- 33:24SPEAKER_01: Like, ain't nobody got time for that.
- 33:25SPEAKER_01: Like, don't be rude to your mother.
- 33:28SPEAKER_01: My girl.
- 33:30SPEAKER_01: Girl, right?
- 33:32SPEAKER_01: The attitude's starting already.
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: She's only nine months ago.
- 33:35SPEAKER_01: Woohoo! Wait, pray for me.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: Anyway, right?
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: But there gonna be times like that where it's not all cutie, and and and teaching her the Lord isn't is teaching your kids the Lord isn't always gonna be some kumbaya moment where it is this beautiful moment, and you're smiling because they're worshiping, and you're worshiping, and they're dancing, and you're dancing, right?
- 33:54SPEAKER_01: Like there will be that time.
- 33:55SPEAKER_01: Don't get me wrong, and that is the best time ever.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: Let me just say that my baby loves worship music, and there's nothing better than worshiping with her on a Sunday morning.
- 34:01SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, it is is heaven on earth.
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: But but there's also gonna be them times that they're they're they're getting real attitude-y with you, and you gotta bring Jesus in there in that moment.
- 34:17SPEAKER_01: And I told her, girl, you're gonna have to be patient.
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: I had worship music on, playing on like a low volume while I'm sitting there eating dinner.
- 34:28SPEAKER_01: So I just start humming worship music.
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: I look at her and I realize I had to fix my tone.
- 34:33SPEAKER_01: Because I was not gentle parenting, I was being kind of mean.
- 34:37SPEAKER_01: I had to fix it.
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: Because that, even that right there is modeling godly character.
- 34:51SPEAKER_01: Proverbs 31 woman.
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: Even in that moment.
- 34:58SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna be done talking now.
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: I wanted to end this message at like 25, 30 minutes, and here it is 35.
- 35:05SPEAKER_01: I'm still talking.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: I don't know what it is with this accent.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: Like I was being silly at first, I'm being and then it got stuck.
- 35:12SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry.
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, I don't know what happened there.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: I would like I said, I'm I was silly at first and then I got stuck, and that's what I get.
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: I want to close this out in prayer.
- 35:25SPEAKER_01: Dear Heavenly Father, I pray over every single mommy listening.
- 35:28SPEAKER_01: I pray over every single listener.
- 35:30SPEAKER_01: Wait, did I just say that?
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: I pray for every listener and mommy.
- 35:33SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 35:33SPEAKER_01: And I lift them up to you, and I just pray over their hearts.
- 35:37SPEAKER_01: I pray every time that they are stressed.
- 35:38SPEAKER_01: Father, I pray that they will seek you, that they will understand, that they will feel that supernatural peace that surpasses all of their understanding.
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: I pray that when they're tired and weary, that they will come to you to seek rest.
- 35:50SPEAKER_01: I pray that they will chain train their children up in the way that they should go, so when they get old, they don't depart from it.
- 35:57SPEAKER_01: Father, I pray that over their lives, I pray protection over their children.
- 36:01SPEAKER_01: That wherever they are, whether they go to school, whether they go to daycare, whether they have nannies that watch them, Father, I pray our protection over them.
- 36:08SPEAKER_01: We're entering flu season, and I just pray over their health.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: Father, I pray that they are healthy, and I pray that you watch over them as they are around other people besides their mommies.
- 36:17SPEAKER_01: I pray that you protect them from any evil.
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: Amen.
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: Alright, one more prayer.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: Um, I just want to offer this.
- 36:26SPEAKER_01: This um, I feel like I I really need to do this more often.
- 36:29SPEAKER_01: I was convicted of this.
- 36:30SPEAKER_01: Um, if you have never given your heart to the Lord, or maybe you have, but you stepped away, um, you know, or or and it's been a long time since you have given your heart to the Lord, or maybe you gave your heart to the Lord three months ago, but it's been a rough season and you feel like you've been falling off the train tracks a little, and you feel like you need to renew this, then I want to give you this opportunity to do it wherever you are, privately.
- 36:55SPEAKER_01: Um, wherever you are, I just I want you to pray this prayer with me, that you give your heart to the Lord.
- 37:02SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna lead the prayer and I encourage you to say it out loud, pray it under your to pray it silently, pray it under your breath, however you see fit.
- 37:09SPEAKER_01: I just pray that you pray this prayer with me.
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: Dear Father, I am sorry for living my life without you.
- 37:16SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry for not choosing you.
- 37:18SPEAKER_01: I repent for sinning against you and for not walking with you in my everyday life.
- 37:23SPEAKER_01: I do believe and I do trust that Jesus died on the cross for my sins, and I thank you, Jesus, for dying on the cross for my sins.
- 37:33SPEAKER_01: I choose today to invite you into my heart, to invite you into my soul, that this day forward I choose to live for you.
- 37:43SPEAKER_01: I choose today to do my life with you.
- 37:46SPEAKER_01: I choose today to do my motherhood with you, and I please ask that you help my faith grow closer to you.
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: Amen.
- 37:55SPEAKER_01: Alright, guys, thank you so much for listening.
