- 0:11Speaker 1: Excuse me while I whip this out. Broadcasting live in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 0:18Speaker 1: This this is the Sports Shock Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 0:23Speaker 1: You may pill Vegan.
- 0:25Speaker 3: I'm JANKI show freaky time comes, comes and it comes
- 0:32Speaker 3: to morth.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Is it just.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I'm a dooer? Yeah, I'm gonna go on the way
- 0:40Speaker 1: you made Vegan. Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. I'll be listening to
- 0:46Speaker 1: the Sports Shock Show. I am the Sports Shock Wayne Gandy,
- 0:50Speaker 1: Good morning to you are. This will be our last
- 0:55Speaker 1: live show of twenty twenty four. We have death run
- 1:02Speaker 1: out of time. I will always when I think of time,
- 1:05Speaker 1: I always wonder what made man decide that he needed
- 1:10Speaker 1: to calculate time in such a framework, not just seconds,
- 1:17Speaker 1: but minutes, hours, days, weeks. Why did we need that?
- 1:26Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:27Speaker 1: When we looked at the world, I wonder why did
- 1:30Speaker 1: we need The seasons are going to change regardless of
- 1:34Speaker 1: and they're going to change when they want to. That's
- 1:35Speaker 1: the thing about it. You can put down the first
- 1:39Speaker 1: day of winter, but that doesn't mean that winter has come.
- 1:44Speaker 1: That's just what you say winter has come if we
- 1:47Speaker 1: quantify age based on a certain number of days, and
- 1:54Speaker 1: I just wonder what made man? But we have run
- 1:56Speaker 1: out of days. In twenty twenty four, we'll move to
- 2:00Speaker 1: a new year, I think. With it being during the
- 2:03Speaker 1: middle of the week, similar to Christmas, it kind of
- 2:06Speaker 1: throws people off a little bit about how to celebrate,
- 2:10Speaker 1: where to go, how long to stay. You know, we
- 2:13Speaker 1: like things around the weekend or Mondays, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday,
- 2:18Speaker 1: good time. Even a Thursday, Tuesday and Wednesday throw you
- 2:21Speaker 1: off for celebration. You know, you don't really know when
- 2:26Speaker 1: to start, how far to go, you know, if it's
- 2:30Speaker 1: if it's Wednesday, do I keep getting drunk until Saturday?
- 2:33Speaker 1: When is the cutoff time? And you know, think about it.
- 2:38Speaker 1: When you look at it, you don't know how much
- 2:39Speaker 1: of it. You don't know how much to eat, you
- 2:43Speaker 1: don't know how far to go and when to come back.
- 2:45Speaker 1: It just is not in that. It's in a strange
- 2:47Speaker 1: little area that throws you every once in a while
- 2:50Speaker 1: because it doesn't always fall on a Wednesday. But New
- 2:53Speaker 1: Year's will be here, which will bring us some great
- 2:56Speaker 1: college football. It seems like that is over and I
- 3:02Speaker 1: wish it was. I don't understand why the playoffs of
- 3:08Speaker 1: college football doesn't start in the sequence of college football.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I know you want the bowls to continue, but there
- 3:18Speaker 1: is no playoff system. That Thanksgiving was like the real
- 3:24Speaker 1: official game for some teams, and then they're just getting
- 3:28Speaker 1: around to their playoff game Wednesday. There was a couple
- 3:34Speaker 1: of teams that didn't have bowld championships that conference championship games,
- 3:39Speaker 1: so they didn't even get that week after they were over.
- 3:42Speaker 1: It's been a good month. Why isn't any sequence? Imagine
- 3:48Speaker 1: the NFL, the season is about the end. Did you
- 3:51Speaker 1: really need week seventeen? Did we? Aren't you tired? Aren't
- 3:55Speaker 1: you ready for the party to start? Did this seventeenth week?
- 4:00Speaker 1: Is it really feeding into you? Or you're kind of
- 4:02Speaker 1: almost exhausted and you really wish you could just go
- 4:04Speaker 1: ahead on into the playoffs. That's how the teams are
- 4:06Speaker 1: gonna play next week. Next Sunday, you're gonna get four
- 4:10Speaker 1: teams trying to play the other twenty eight gonna be
- 4:14Speaker 1: trying not to get their superstars hurt. You already see
- 4:17Speaker 1: teams Benching and Seed Lamb on the side of that
- 4:20Speaker 1: his fingernail polishes is broken, So let's shut him down.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Did we need week seventeen? Were you just a little
- 4:28Speaker 1: too greedy? Commands Greg? Is it making any because I'm
- 4:32Speaker 1: ready for the playoffs?
- 4:33Speaker 5: It's like a twin. We already we already paid for
- 4:35Speaker 5: the for the time slot.
- 4:37Speaker 1: And that's the thing. How much more money? Why is
- 4:40Speaker 1: it always money? Why is it always money? If I
- 4:46Speaker 1: set Jeff bezo, it's down. He's just spending money. He's
- 4:52Speaker 1: not really actually doing anything. He's just spending it to
- 4:58Speaker 1: be spending it because it's there. Yes, you can have
- 5:02Speaker 1: a little too, you can be short of money, sure,
- 5:07Speaker 1: but then it becomes a point you're just spending money.
- 5:11Speaker 1: The first four hundred foot yacht you only got thirty
- 5:16Speaker 1: miles on it, and you reupt Well, I'm saying, you
- 5:19Speaker 1: know how, you're just eating things to say you ate it?
- 5:24Speaker 1: You sitting people on fishing expedition. Yeah, go down there
- 5:26Speaker 1: and find me a black dolphin with nine fins. We
- 5:30Speaker 1: don't what do you do? I mean, so so hols
- 5:35Speaker 1: and and and then that wasn't good enough. We're just
- 5:39Speaker 1: gonna have to just go there. I know nobody thinks
- 5:42Speaker 1: like me, so I don't try to push it on.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I'm just saying, who's just wasting money sometimes? And if
- 5:49Speaker 1: you're doing everything based on money, like Commanchia is saying,
- 5:53Speaker 1: so you added another week to make some more money
- 5:57Speaker 1: for who sports yot?
- 5:59Speaker 5: Think about it? Like the seventeenth week You've ever been
- 6:02Speaker 5: to one of those fourteen course meals? Like how many
- 6:05Speaker 5: appetizers can we actually have before you bring me out
- 6:09Speaker 5: of entree? But people will go to that, so they'll
- 6:12Speaker 5: keep adding appetite.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Typically people go to that once so and then they're
- 6:18Speaker 1: tired of it by by plate number nine of the
- 6:21Speaker 1: guy lady standing over your shoulder, they're tired of that.
- 6:25Speaker 1: You're tired of that, right, But if we can get
- 6:27Speaker 1: the entire population to come just one time. But see,
- 6:31Speaker 1: that's what you're still going back to, just the money part.
- 6:34Speaker 5: I'm saying who, So, who's who's responsible? The people who
- 6:38Speaker 5: open the restaurant or the people who want to come
- 6:40Speaker 5: and eat fourteen courses of of meal? That's what I'm saying.
- 6:45Speaker 5: The NFL is everybody. Everybody.
- 6:47Speaker 1: People, chicken and the eggs both of them? Was there?
- 6:50Speaker 1: Was it the chicken or the egg?
- 6:52Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 6:52Speaker 1: We can people can be wrong.
- 6:54Speaker 5: We have an insatiable appetite for sports. We just do we? Yeah,
- 7:00Speaker 5: do we?
- 7:00Speaker 1: We do think about it. When they just said they
- 7:03Speaker 1: wanted to go to seventeen games, did you get a
- 7:08Speaker 1: voucher to ask them to expand? Now, did you get one?
- 7:14Speaker 1: Were you sitting there like, man, let me write my
- 7:16Speaker 1: local congressman, because you know what we need? We need
- 7:20Speaker 1: another week of football?
- 7:22Speaker 5: Right?
- 7:23Speaker 1: Did you ask for that?
- 7:24Speaker 5: But do I turn it on?
- 7:26Speaker 1: I don't. Well, I'm saying that's the problem. Those are
- 7:30Speaker 1: the people that's gonna suffer at some point, You're gonna suffer.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I didn't watch any of the balls. The bulls mean nothing.
- 7:39Speaker 1: So much going on that nothing actually means anything. Is
- 7:43Speaker 1: what's hurting Major League Baseball. It's what's hurting the NBA.
- 7:49Speaker 1: It's a slow trickle, but the trickle is happening. You
- 7:54Speaker 1: made them feel like there's no games. The games have
- 7:56Speaker 1: no importance to the playoffs. So well, I just want
- 8:00Speaker 1: two ends. You got football, but you have over footballed me. Yes,
- 8:06Speaker 1: two NFL games while it's two or three Bowl games
- 8:09Speaker 1: in the middle of a basketball tournament next to am
- 8:14Speaker 1: I'm on season two, episode four of Games of Thrones again.
- 8:19Speaker 1: I won't even for the thirtieth time. I just won't
- 8:21Speaker 1: even watch the game. I'll just check the score. Yeah,
- 8:25Speaker 1: people hit me. Hey man, you saw your door and
- 8:27Speaker 1: love man, I was watching the games. A throne John
- 8:30Speaker 1: Snow just killed, just stabbed a white walker. I don't
- 8:35Speaker 1: I'm past. I'm footballed out.
- 8:40Speaker 5: And that's saying something.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I'm having the footballed out. That's saying something, because if
- 8:46Speaker 1: I watch it enough, it's just the same people in
- 8:49Speaker 1: different uniforms. Remember you're not it's still leven on eleven right,
- 8:52Speaker 1: it's still receivers tight end. It starts to blend in.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I'm telling you, it's like that Bobbycue competition I went
- 8:59Speaker 1: to a couple of years ago. I thought they were lying. Everybody,
- 9:04Speaker 1: give me your attention, and then let me walk you
- 9:06Speaker 1: through a couple of rules of how to do this. Man,
- 9:15Speaker 1: I ain't got to turn around well, and he gave
- 9:17Speaker 1: you the little rules about eat this, how much to eat,
- 9:21Speaker 1: and hit you with a little grape and hit you
- 9:23Speaker 1: with a little cracker, and man, y'all need none of that.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Ain't no sign I got it. I got nine degrees
- 9:30Speaker 1: in port rib and pig in my mind until I
- 9:35Speaker 1: got to sample number six, and.
- 9:40Speaker 5: Like five did.
- 9:41Speaker 1: I'm thinking I pushed five aside and know I'm because
- 9:45Speaker 1: I ain't listening to the man. She told me in
- 9:48Speaker 1: between bites to do this, and this cleaning fell. And
- 9:52Speaker 1: now I'm sitting here everybody the second round giving people
- 9:57Speaker 1: the same grade. That was the only solution. I just
- 10:02Speaker 1: to give everybody a beat because I can no longer
- 10:06Speaker 1: taste the difference. The difference, and I didn't want to
- 10:10Speaker 1: give him an A. I just was gonna give him
- 10:12Speaker 1: a B.
- 10:12Speaker 5: So that is the grapes was the grapes was a
- 10:16Speaker 5: trick though, but he told he got to put the grape.
- 10:21Speaker 1: But there is no grape for football. There is no
- 10:23Speaker 1: cracker for football. You would think there's no grapes of
- 10:29Speaker 1: crackers for barbecue. But I wanted to ask you this,
- 10:32Speaker 1: on top of the overload of football, with all of
- 10:36Speaker 1: these non factor bowl games, do you think it's also
- 10:41Speaker 1: hurting them that these games are lackluster and not exciting
- 10:45Speaker 1: at all.
- 10:46Speaker 5: Most of them have been blowouts or just completely one sided.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Do you think that that's going to make the fan go, hey,
- 10:53Speaker 5: why don't we just cut straight to the chase, Because
- 10:56Speaker 5: at some point Snoop DOGG and all of these I
- 11:00Speaker 5: saw bad boy mowers and all of those people are
- 11:05Speaker 5: you know nobody.
- 11:06Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. This Sunday on the seventeenth week,
- 11:09Speaker 1: or which is really the eighteenth week, you're gonna have
- 11:12Speaker 1: six eight games where you have that two teams that
- 11:17Speaker 1: are playing for nothing. You're gonna be able to click
- 11:20Speaker 1: on something like the Browns versus the Jets, and it
- 11:28Speaker 1: has nothing to do with anything. Some of it don't
- 11:32Speaker 1: even have to do it. Drafts that just workplace injury,
- 11:38Speaker 1: workplace injury today. But we'll be back. We have a
- 11:41Speaker 1: great show for you. And stop saying Jimmy Carter die softly.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Stop saying it that way. Hey, jim Jimmy Carter died.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Speak loud when you talk about somebody lived to be
- 11:59Speaker 1: one hundred one zero zevn. Jimmy Carter got it done.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Yes he did. Let's let's talk about in a celebratory
- 12:08Speaker 1: We ain't even had to be president, not like it
- 12:11Speaker 1: was some you know, unfored car accident that happened to
- 12:15Speaker 1: somebody when they were fourteen. Amen.
- 12:17Speaker 4: You know.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Jimmy Carter lived be one hundred Yeah, I ran the
- 12:21Speaker 1: most powerful country in the world, lived to be one
- 12:23Speaker 1: hundred den clocked.
- 12:24Speaker 5: Out, complains George.
- 12:26Speaker 1: We'll be back. Congratulations Jimmy Carter one hundred years old.
- 12:31Speaker 1: We was all taking Beck to see if he got there.
- 12:33Speaker 6: He did.
- 12:34Speaker 1: We'll be back with more to Sports Jock Show. Right

- 14:04Speaker 5: Mind, walk a mile in my shoes. Walk a mile
- 14:07Speaker 5: in my shoes, Walk a mile in my shoes. We've
- 14:11Speaker 5: all felt left out, and for some that feeling lasts
- 14:14Speaker 5: more than a moment.
- 14:15Speaker 1: We can change that.
- 14:17Speaker 9: Learn how it belonging begins with us dot org, brought
- 14:20Speaker 9: to you by the AD Council.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Welcome out in my shoes.
- 14:27Speaker 10: I never realized that I'd be taking care of a
- 14:30Speaker 10: two year old and a nine year old on my own.
- 14:33Speaker 10: I think men can be a little stubborn sometimes, where
- 14:36Speaker 10: pride gets in the way and they may want the help,
- 14:39Speaker 10: they may not know how to ask. With my traditions,
- 14:42Speaker 10: with the family support in line, and just with my
- 14:45Speaker 10: mind frame, I was able to turn a negative into
- 14:49Speaker 10: a positive. I knew I needed more tools in my
- 14:52Speaker 10: toolbox to take care of these little girls that had
- 14:55Speaker 10: just lost their mother. It's time for me to be
- 14:58Speaker 10: that father that I knew I could be. I think
- 15:00Speaker 10: just being that good role model as well. That model's
- 15:04Speaker 10: good behavior in front of them, going to work every day,
- 15:07Speaker 10: coming home and being able to put on that smile.
- 15:10Speaker 10: The biggest reward about being a dad is sitting back
- 15:13Speaker 10: and watching your.
- 15:14Speaker 5: Kids be happy.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Never stop being a dad.
- 15:18Speaker 5: That's dedication.
- 15:20Speaker 11: Find out more on Fatherhood dot gov. Brought to you
- 15:22Speaker 11: by the US Department of Health and Human Services and
- 15:25Speaker 11: the AD Council.
- 15:28Speaker 1: And now back to the Sports John Wayne Gandy.
- 15:34Speaker 3: The Jock of the Day is sponsored by Mattress HEROESUSA
- 15:37Speaker 3: dot com the sleep you deserve at a price you
- 15:39Speaker 3: can afford. No, no, no no, It's time to present
- 15:43Speaker 3: the Jock of the Day on the Sports Jocksh's.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Taking it to a completely different level.
- 15:47Speaker 3: This year where we highlight an acolyte that has taken
- 15:50Speaker 3: their game to the next level.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Welcome back to this Swoy shock Shower. I'm the sport
- 16:14Speaker 1: Shock Wayne Gerdie. This is our last time ringing in
- 16:18Speaker 1: your ear in twenty twenty four on a live show
- 16:22Speaker 1: here Atlanta, Georgia or the bad Producer, Big Kenny, the
- 16:26Speaker 1: funny man himself, command you Greg guys. You know, kind
- 16:32Speaker 1: of midway through the second hour, we'll talking about the
- 16:35Speaker 1: story of the year. Was it Donald Trump? Was it
- 16:39Speaker 1: p Diddy? Was it Caitlin Clark? Or do you have
- 16:44Speaker 1: something else you think was the story of twenty twenty four.
- 16:47Speaker 1: We'll talk about that later in the show. Show today,
- 16:52Speaker 1: if you want to watch Monday night football, the Lions
- 16:55Speaker 1: have a lot on the line. They're playing the forty
- 16:57Speaker 1: nine ers. Most likely with the injuries and things going
- 17:01Speaker 1: on with the forty nine ers, a lot of guys
- 17:03Speaker 1: will be out, so check your injury report. The Lions
- 17:07Speaker 1: trying to get a first round bye steal, so when
- 17:13Speaker 1: today when next week they will be able to do that.
- 17:18Speaker 1: On the other side of Kansas City, Chiefs already have
- 17:21Speaker 1: a bye. That's why Denver is so much happier today.
- 17:27Speaker 1: They will take on a Chiefs team that most likely
- 17:31Speaker 1: will set a lot of starters, and if the Broncos win,
- 17:34Speaker 1: they go to the playoffs. But forty nine Ers. Something
- 17:38Speaker 1: to watch tonight is that the Lions now this game
- 17:41Speaker 1: with something on the line, you probably see everybody but
- 17:44Speaker 1: who knows Brock Purdy, Deebo Samuels carry George Kittle's excuse me,
- 17:51Speaker 1: Lions forty nine ers tonight. There is a bowl game
- 17:54Speaker 1: on today, Iowa versus Mazou. That's that to thirty am,
- 18:02Speaker 1: two thirty pm. It might as well be. Ain't nobody
- 18:05Speaker 1: gonna watch it? The Colorado BA Buffalo season came to
- 18:09Speaker 1: and in this past Saturday, as byu brought the discipline
- 18:18Speaker 1: to the Buffalo's Dion Sanders last walk, at least on
- 18:24Speaker 1: the collegiate level with his sons Shiloh and should Dore.
- 18:31Speaker 1: It's been a long journey here over the last six
- 18:34Speaker 1: years with those gentlemen, and now they for at least
- 18:39Speaker 1: what looks for a minute, As I said, wouldn't be
- 18:42Speaker 1: so surprised. Maybe someone like the Raiders try to hire
- 18:47Speaker 1: Dion if they find themselves headed towards drafting. Should Doure
- 18:53Speaker 1: wouldn't be odd to make that happen at all. With
- 18:57Speaker 1: the Raiders record Antonio piers not. He has not proven
- 19:02Speaker 1: that he commanded the ship. That could be something that
- 19:06Speaker 1: has worked. Right now, the Raiders and the Giants look
- 19:11Speaker 1: like they're fighting. I personally, I know Shader had his
- 19:14Speaker 1: little giant clicks on in the locker before the game,
- 19:20Speaker 1: trying to promote himselves all the time. He always takes
- 19:24Speaker 1: every instance to promote itself. He got it, honest, Yeah,
- 19:28Speaker 1: he got in his DNA. Yeah, you know, I'm taking
- 19:33Speaker 1: Travis Hunter regardless. Travis Hunter is a generational player from
- 19:40Speaker 1: the standpoint that he looks better than other players. Shadur,
- 19:46Speaker 1: cam Ward, Carson Beck who's declared for the draft, all
- 19:52Speaker 1: those guys, they look like something I've seen. Travis Hunter
- 19:58Speaker 1: looks unusual as far as his skills set. And I
- 20:01Speaker 1: know those teams. They keep trying to push these teams
- 20:07Speaker 1: back against the wall that all they need to do
- 20:10Speaker 1: is go draft a quarterback. But they've done that. They've
- 20:15Speaker 1: done that though in New Jersey they've done it seven
- 20:18Speaker 1: they've done that. What I'm saying, Jets, what was Jones
- 20:25Speaker 1: which picks Daniels Jones? It was like six or seven, right,
- 20:29Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. So they've done this. I'm saying
- 20:32Speaker 1: I've seen the Jets do it seven times, as in
- 20:35Speaker 1: the top three picks. Seven times they get a quarterback
- 20:38Speaker 1: and by the next season or the season after that,
- 20:41Speaker 1: that dude is broadcasting, he said, broadcast or NFL. Or
- 20:49Speaker 1: he cycles through the NFL and comes out on the
- 20:51Speaker 1: other end as Geno Smith, and.
- 20:53Speaker 5: He's also broadcasting, not even his college broadcasting.
- 20:56Speaker 12: He's even doing NFL. So so I'm just who you're
- 21:00Speaker 12: about to say something. Well, as of right now, the
- 21:04Speaker 12: Patriots have the number one pick. Oh, so they're definitely
- 21:07Speaker 12: gonna get right now. The Giants are fourth, but there's
- 21:12Speaker 12: someone like if they lose the next game or something
- 21:15Speaker 12: like that, So then it's that will kind of leans
- 21:18Speaker 12: into where you're talking about in the first segment. Okay,
- 21:21Speaker 12: if the team is trying to lose to get the
- 21:23Speaker 12: first pick, or are they actually going to go out
- 21:27Speaker 12: there and compete for this last game?
- 21:29Speaker 5: And that was effect that people are gonna watch or not.
- 21:32Speaker 1: In the Giants case, that's just who they are. I
- 21:37Speaker 1: was telling a friend of mine that yesterday. And we'll
- 21:38Speaker 1: talk about the Falcons and the Redskin, I mean the Commanders.
- 21:43Speaker 1: When you look at your team, nine out of ten times,
- 21:50Speaker 1: your team record will be the talent on the field,
- 21:58Speaker 1: no matter how much you love it. It's like that
- 22:02Speaker 1: old adage of you know your child. You know people
- 22:05Speaker 1: everybody think they child is this they pretty or athletes?
- 22:10Speaker 1: You know, the most athletic. Everybody think it's their child.
- 22:12Speaker 5: And my mama used to always say, my baby, be
- 22:14Speaker 5: a good boy, a good boy.
- 22:18Speaker 1: But typically your record is exemplified by the talent on
- 22:23Speaker 1: the field. Now you can have. Sometimes there's this team
- 22:29Speaker 1: that doesn't have as much talent that plays above and
- 22:33Speaker 1: you have a talent a team that has a lot
- 22:35Speaker 1: of talent that pays down. But when it all shakes out,
- 22:39Speaker 1: the Falcons are what they are. They are ten and seven,
- 22:45Speaker 1: nine and eighteen.
- 22:47Speaker 5: Living up to their living up to their giving you
- 22:50Speaker 5: exactly what you're paying fun.
- 22:52Speaker 1: That's what they are as forts when you look at
- 22:56Speaker 1: it on paper. Now, sometimes you have somebody that mightn't
- 23:00Speaker 1: have a breakout year, but most teams, which team is
- 23:04Speaker 1: really doing more than what their talent base says? Most
- 23:10Speaker 1: teams are right there. The Panthers are a four and
- 23:15Speaker 1: twelve team when you look at their roster, super you
- 23:20Speaker 1: know stars Minnesota is playing above what not? In my opinion,
- 23:25Speaker 1: But I'm just saying that you was talking about the
- 23:27Speaker 1: paper and looking at what you were just Minnesota always
- 23:31Speaker 1: they come in they had the other who was the
- 23:35Speaker 1: other guy that's supposed to been starting quarterback McCarthy.
- 23:38Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, So they had a whole different agenda going here.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Sam Donald was a top ten pick.
- 23:45Speaker 5: I understand, I'm not disagreeing.
- 23:47Speaker 1: I no, no, what I'm saying, so my talent that
- 23:50Speaker 1: means that Sam Donald was a top ten pick.
- 23:53Speaker 5: Talent.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Did he perform that way? No, But he's not surprising anybody.
- 23:59Speaker 1: He just finally found Sam Donald and I just said,
- 24:03Speaker 1: you do. You may have one a team that's playing
- 24:05Speaker 1: above and one that's playing below, but most teams are
- 24:09Speaker 1: their talent. The Stellers have fallen back to where their
- 24:14Speaker 1: talent level is right. They were playing above where they
- 24:17Speaker 1: were they about right in there, ten eleven.
- 24:20Speaker 5: Win team, So they're not real surprises, not.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Tip and we'll be back more to Sports Dout Show
- 24:27Speaker 1: after this.

- 27:24Speaker 16: I gotta check back to this one shock show. I'm
- 27:26Speaker 16: this watch Shock Wing Gamy. Good morning, and it's Monday.
- 27:29Speaker 16: I hope you had a great weekend. You have recovered
- 27:33Speaker 16: from Christmas and you're ready for a new year.
- 27:37Speaker 1: As January first approaches, Uh, this Wednesday, you get great
- 27:43Speaker 1: games like the Chick fil A Peachbawl here Onland to
- 27:47Speaker 1: kick things off, Texas taking on Arizona State. We'll talk
- 27:53Speaker 1: about the other four quarterfinals as the show goes on.
- 27:59Speaker 1: We were talking about movement around the NFL. Come on you, Greg,
- 28:04Speaker 1: let me know that right now, as of today, the Patriots, Titans,
- 28:10Speaker 1: and then the Browns would have the first three picks.
- 28:14Speaker 1: As I said, Drake may is already at the Patriots
- 28:17Speaker 1: like they could make something out of him. Regardless of
- 28:22Speaker 1: who the first pick is. I would take Travis Hunter, period,
- 28:29Speaker 1: just my opinion. We can figure out the quarterback thing
- 28:36Speaker 1: down the road. First pick Frek, second pick, top ten pick.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Quarterbacks don't hit any harder than other positions if you
- 28:47Speaker 1: put them in the wrong place, if you don't have
- 28:49Speaker 1: the other pieces around them. So you wanted to question
- 28:54Speaker 1: about Chadur and Dion, Yeah, I'm.
- 28:59Speaker 5: With Shadur possibly going to say to the Raiders, and
- 29:03Speaker 5: people have speculated they might reach out to Dion. Do
- 29:07Speaker 5: you think that the NFL would be willing just based
- 29:12Speaker 5: on the fact that Shaduur got drafted to make Dion
- 29:14Speaker 5: a head coach, or do you think he would be
- 29:16Speaker 5: willing to negotiate being a quarterback coach in the NFL
- 29:19Speaker 5: first and then work his way through.
- 29:22Speaker 1: But I don't know, I don't know him to have
- 29:24Speaker 1: any talent in coaching quarterback. Well, he wouldn't actually be
- 29:35Speaker 1: coaching quarterbacks. He'd just be coaching Shador the way he
- 29:37Speaker 1: has his entire life.
- 29:39Speaker 5: I mean, because that's the only reason I would imagine
- 29:41Speaker 5: they would bring them to the NFL together is because
- 29:44Speaker 5: they think that he can work Shador in ways that
- 29:47Speaker 5: the other coaches can't.
- 29:49Speaker 1: But not from a coaching aspect, just from a mentality,
- 29:53Speaker 1: a mental ass right.
- 29:54Speaker 5: From a mental aspect. So we can't really make him
- 29:57Speaker 5: like Jackson State or Colorado was willing to do. We
- 30:00Speaker 5: can't make him the head coach here.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Why not?
- 30:03Speaker 5: Well, as the head coach, he could just delegate those
- 30:06Speaker 5: other positions.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that's all head coaches do, any right.
- 30:09Speaker 5: He would just delegate, get a quarterback coach that could
- 30:12Speaker 5: work what you do.
- 30:13Speaker 1: The head coach position is kind of phased into just managing,
- 30:19Speaker 1: right the president. Yeah, you're just really the guy that
- 30:23Speaker 1: can assemble, motivate, delegate, delegate the things A lot of
- 30:30Speaker 1: need to be done. Yeah, a lot of coaches aren't.
- 30:33Speaker 1: You're not doing as much coaching. You know, you see
- 30:36Speaker 1: some of them like a Andy Reid or Sean Payton,
- 30:38Speaker 1: some of them just won't give up the roots of coaching. Right.
- 30:43Speaker 1: They're going to call the plays, They're going to be
- 30:45Speaker 1: the coordinator, those kind of things.
- 30:48Speaker 17: I mean, you have told the stories where with you,
- 30:51Speaker 17: like you see the coach till you know he only
- 30:55Speaker 17: knew the starter's name even in college. I mean he
- 30:58Speaker 17: maybe knew probably the person come in the second string
- 31:01Speaker 17: or something like that. But most time his interaction is
- 31:04Speaker 17: as you always have always told us this through his staff.
- 31:08Speaker 18: Right.
- 31:08Speaker 5: Another question I had NFC no such tough division. You
- 31:11Speaker 5: say Lions plan to try and get a bye, like
- 31:15Speaker 5: when you thirteen and two and you still trying to
- 31:19Speaker 5: get I mean because in other division that's a you know,
- 31:22Speaker 5: that's a home field advantage first round, but in this
- 31:26Speaker 5: division they does that? Does that complicate your chances later?
- 31:31Speaker 5: Like the Lions could get injuries tonight that might you know,
- 31:36Speaker 5: make it hard when the party start.
- 31:38Speaker 1: No, I think the thing that it's gotten overblown in
- 31:43Speaker 1: sports is this injury part that you can control, so
- 31:49Speaker 1: let's not play so we can minimize And it's like
- 31:54Speaker 1: but based on your team sometimes sitting out throws them off, right,
- 32:00Speaker 1: They're out of a groove.
- 32:01Speaker 5: Yeah, and.
- 32:04Speaker 1: As we saw once again for your jts ch ch chicks,
- 32:08Speaker 1: guys get on the third, fourth player of the game
- 32:10Speaker 1: get hurt. Yeah. So Detroit right now is in a
- 32:14Speaker 1: tough division with Minnesota. Somebody has to have the first
- 32:18Speaker 1: round by with the Lions injuries, They're definitely gonna keep
- 32:23Speaker 1: trying to figure out how they can get them a
- 32:25Speaker 1: week off, right, because that's what they really really want,
- 32:30Speaker 1: Just like the Chiefs, they really wanted that. That's why
- 32:34Speaker 1: they was willing to continue to play play when and
- 32:37Speaker 1: try to create this scenario where I can rest in
- 32:41Speaker 1: a situation I don't just like they're gonna make a
- 32:45Speaker 1: decision about sa Quin. Why isn't sa Quin Barkley of
- 32:48Speaker 1: the Eagles the MVP.
- 32:53Speaker 5: Because they ain't a quarterback.
- 32:55Speaker 12: I think like the conversation comes up, like when quarterbacks
- 32:59Speaker 12: have been winning the end VP, Oh, it's a quarterback award,
- 33:02Speaker 12: And then I think people say that enough to where
- 33:05Speaker 12: I think a lot of people believe that's the rule
- 33:07Speaker 12: that it's supposed to go to a quarter but I don't.
- 33:11Speaker 12: But why isn't he But I'm just saying, that's the
- 33:13Speaker 12: media who votes.
- 33:15Speaker 5: So you know it's not a rule.
- 33:16Speaker 12: You know, it's not just or some people like can't
- 33:19Speaker 12: go back on their So I'm talking to a couple
- 33:22Speaker 12: of people yesterday that it seemed like Josh Allen was
- 33:28Speaker 12: picked as the MVP two months ago and people don't
- 33:31Speaker 12: want to go back on that, even though Lamar's had
- 33:34Speaker 12: a great year. Saquon just cracked two thousand yards. Sour
- 33:38Speaker 12: is trying trying to vote, so people don't want to
- 33:41Speaker 12: go back.
- 33:42Speaker 19: So is that.
- 33:42Speaker 5: Suggested to people who are playing football aren't actually running
- 33:45Speaker 5: the sport because you're telling me that the best people
- 33:48Speaker 5: on the field can't say no, wait a minute, nah,
- 33:52Speaker 5: this man just rushed for two thousand yards, stopped playing,
- 33:55Speaker 5: But they make the decision early addictions. Those are prognosticators.
- 34:02Speaker 1: I'm talking about in week seventeen, this man two thousand
- 34:06Speaker 1: yards and everybody else sitting around like he's really good,
- 34:11Speaker 1: he's coming up, He's coming.
- 34:12Speaker 5: Two thousand yards is two thousand yard ball? Don't lie.
- 34:15Speaker 5: Numbers don't lie.
- 34:16Speaker 1: That's I'm saying why we have in this debate, We
- 34:19Speaker 1: have seen it before because people who play the story
- 34:21Speaker 1: don't control the sport. The media controls sports and who
- 34:25Speaker 1: gets the accolades and who gets the attention and all
- 34:28Speaker 1: of the awards. That's it people who have never played
- 34:31Speaker 1: the sport.
- 34:32Speaker 5: And that offends me. I've never understood how they can
- 34:35Speaker 5: do that.
- 34:36Speaker 1: You've never stepped on the field, and you'll keep somebody
- 34:39Speaker 1: like a Saquon Barkley in limbo. Well, I will tell
- 34:43Speaker 1: you that the Josh Allen thing, I think is more
- 34:49Speaker 1: of as I think all three of years alluding to
- 34:53Speaker 1: the media says this. The media said that Josh Allen
- 34:57Speaker 1: has his team what thirteen and two, fourteen and two,
- 35:01Speaker 1: whatever their record is at the moment, and the media
- 35:05Speaker 1: said he couldn't do it without step On Diggs. Remember
- 35:11Speaker 1: the trade. The narrative was the Stephan Diggs left and
- 35:14Speaker 1: went to the Texans, and that was the only reason
- 35:16Speaker 1: Josh Allen was any good? Was any good? Right? And
- 35:20Speaker 1: now he you know, they have secured the second position
- 35:24Speaker 1: in the AFC. So I think that's where that narrative locks.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson is just doing the things Lamar Jackson, but
- 35:34Speaker 1: he to me, y'all are still cut up, caught up
- 35:38Speaker 1: in the dunk. The dunk pails him out for some
- 35:45Speaker 1: questionable things, for some games where he didn't step up.
- 35:50Speaker 5: Isn't it the same with Saquan No, he was supposed
- 35:52Speaker 5: to lead the giant Es kind of washed up. He
- 35:54Speaker 5: wasn't gonna be hisself. He you know, he wasn't supposed
- 35:57Speaker 5: to be the best movie they could have made. It
- 36:01Speaker 5: was just, you know, we shuffling pieces.
- 36:03Speaker 1: And now looks well, he went over two thousand yards
- 36:06Speaker 1: within the sixteen games, So that keeps him from being
- 36:11Speaker 1: in that well. He took him seventeen games. We did
- 36:14Speaker 1: it in the sixteen games, and he did it in
- 36:19Speaker 1: a way in a time where you all of you
- 36:22Speaker 1: people keep saying running backs are not valuable. Y'all been
- 36:28Speaker 1: drawing that line for the longest here to the point
- 36:31Speaker 1: they can't even get a paycheck. Part of say coin
- 36:35Speaker 1: problem is that nobody wants to pay a running back,
- 36:38Speaker 1: and that been a narrative for the last four or
- 36:40Speaker 1: five years. And they're despensable, dispendable. And so we went
- 36:44Speaker 1: and got two thousand yards running the ball, not Scrimma's
- 36:47Speaker 1: yards running the ball without a committee in sixteen games.
- 36:52Speaker 1: So I think that it's the ninth time that has
- 36:56Speaker 1: happened in the history of the NFL, which has been
- 36:59Speaker 1: around one hundred years.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Now, so they ain't even done it every ten years, so.
- 37:06Speaker 1: I don't see how he misses out on the m
- 37:08Speaker 1: v P. Most likely they will give the m v
- 37:11Speaker 1: P to Josh Allen and they will say that Quon
- 37:15Speaker 1: was the Offensive Player of the Year.
- 37:19Speaker 12: We've seen We've seen that, like even when Derrick Henry
- 37:23Speaker 12: did it a few years ago. I think the MVP
- 37:25Speaker 12: went to Mahomes, but Henry got Offensive Player of the Year.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that's probably how they will roll the
- 37:33Speaker 1: dice on unless he goes out and breaks the record. Now,
- 37:37Speaker 1: if he goes and gets this one hundred and two
- 37:39Speaker 1: yards he needs, which is totally believable this weekend, then
- 37:44Speaker 1: I don't know if you can disrespect history right now.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Right now history has been he didn't win MVP.
- 37:58Speaker 5: You better ask Pete Rose.

- 40:05Speaker 9: Hi.
- 40:05Speaker 20: I'm Ryan Blaney, a third generational race car driver, and
- 40:08Speaker 20: we dedicate a lot of our time to going as
- 40:10Speaker 20: fast as possible. My Grandpa Lou is the reason why
- 40:12Speaker 20: my dad and I started racing, and I'm really proud
- 40:14Speaker 20: to follow on his tracks. But when my grandpa was
- 40:16Speaker 20: diagnosed with Alzheimer's, it was a very unexpected bump in
- 40:19Speaker 20: the road for us. I've learned a lot on this
- 40:21Speaker 20: journey with my Grandpa Lou, and the memories of my
- 40:23Speaker 20: grandpa will always be with me. It's important to notice
- 40:26Speaker 20: if older family members are acting differently, experiencing problems with
- 40:29Speaker 20: their memory, or having trouble with routine tasks. Talking about

- 41:07Speaker 21: And now back to the sports, John Wayne Candy, it's
- 41:31Speaker 21: long say you can see a sports jaint. I'll sing even.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Big Janny, welcome back to this boy, shock shue, this
- 41:41Speaker 1: boy shock Wayne Candy. Good morning to you, Uh Detroit
- 41:45Speaker 1: at San Francisco tonight, Monday night football. If you just
- 41:48Speaker 1: haven't had enough. Uh the Lions are playing. Uh they
- 41:52Speaker 1: win two games, they get the first round by bowl
- 41:57Speaker 1: game at some point today two thirty I versus Missouri.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Don hold me to that's the only one. It's just
- 42:05Speaker 1: the one I see right now. I'm quite sure it
- 42:07Speaker 1: is a couple of more here that will pop on
- 42:11Speaker 1: and you will think it was just some kind of
- 42:13Speaker 1: instant classic, and it actually will be a live college
- 42:17Speaker 1: football game. The Bowl season. I'm quite sure when it's
- 42:21Speaker 1: all said and done, the numbers will be down. As
- 42:24Speaker 1: far as ratings go. NFL Action yesterday last night, great
- 42:33Speaker 1: game between the Falcons and the Commanders, both teams slugging
- 42:40Speaker 1: it out, the Commanders winning in overtime thirty to twenty four.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Now the Falcons need to win versus the Panthers, and
- 42:52Speaker 1: they need the wo that Nation to rise up down
- 42:56Speaker 1: in Tampa and beat the Bucks their only way in
- 43:01Speaker 1: two the playoffs. Last night, they control their own fate.
- 43:06Speaker 1: If they had won the last two games, there's nothing
- 43:09Speaker 1: Tampa could have done about it. But they lost to
- 43:15Speaker 1: the Commanders in overtime. Jayde Daniels and Michael Pennix. It
- 43:22Speaker 1: would be lovely to see this within a division, but
- 43:26Speaker 1: you have to wait every so many years to see
- 43:28Speaker 1: them play against each other. So the Falcons now are
- 43:33Speaker 1: in the situation where they have to win and hope
- 43:37Speaker 1: and we will see how the schedule are the schedules
- 43:40Speaker 1: out for these games yet because a lot of times
- 43:44Speaker 1: they like to stagger them where one team plays before
- 43:49Speaker 1: to build the drama to it. So what time is it?
- 43:53Speaker 5: So the.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Okay?
- 43:57Speaker 5: Week eighteen? Okay, So the with the Falcons. They play at.
- 44:05Speaker 12: One o'clock, okay, and Tampa is also playing at one o'clock.
- 44:09Speaker 12: They put them on at the same time, okay, okay, okay,
- 44:12Speaker 12: so they have to keep checking the scoreboy.
- 44:14Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Usually they will put one up and then you know,
- 44:18Speaker 1: at one, another one at four, so that the it
- 44:21Speaker 1: have more weight on it. You know, they say that
- 44:25Speaker 1: the Saints did beat Tampa, then Atlanta at four would
- 44:30Speaker 1: know they have to win to make the playoffs. So
- 44:34Speaker 1: one of those things right now, they're going to make
- 44:36Speaker 1: both of them play at the same time.
- 44:38Speaker 12: I think they've been doing the last couple of years
- 44:41Speaker 12: where it's like they they put whatever team's on at
- 44:45Speaker 12: the same time. So if this team knew that, okay,
- 44:49Speaker 12: we're not even if we win, we're not getting in
- 44:51Speaker 12: because the other team won. Then we're not gonna play
- 44:53Speaker 12: our starters. So it's it's for entertainment value to well.
- 44:57Speaker 1: That's the thing in this situation. I can I put
- 45:00Speaker 1: the Falcons on at four, then it's a win win, Yeah,
- 45:08Speaker 1: I could see that. I guess they don't want they
- 45:11Speaker 1: don't want the scoreboard watch because the Falcons have to win.
- 45:13Speaker 1: The Falcons have to win regardless of what time, right,
- 45:18Speaker 1: the Bucks don't have to win regardless, the Bucks could lose,
- 45:23Speaker 1: and if the Falcons lose, the Bucks still go right,
- 45:27Speaker 1: So the Falcons have are the ones who have to win, period.
- 45:32Speaker 1: So we will see how that works going against the Panthers.
- 45:35Speaker 1: How did you like your boys last night?
- 45:38Speaker 17: We look good as far as what I just at
- 45:41Speaker 17: one play he had an interception early on. Other than that,
- 45:44Speaker 17: Michael Pennancy played real well.
- 45:46Speaker 1: I said, how did y'all look? I didn't actually just
- 45:48Speaker 1: have like Penance, I said, I said, y'all, I said,
- 45:51Speaker 1: we look good. No, you said, y'all you he looked good.
- 45:55Speaker 1: I said, we with one except for that one interception,
- 45:58Speaker 1: we look good.
- 45:59Speaker 17: And except on the offense, like as I stated, we
- 46:03Speaker 17: had the one play on I felt that just come
- 46:06Speaker 17: back to harness it at the beginning of the first series.
- 46:10Speaker 17: Defense wise, like you always my good friend who played
- 46:12Speaker 17: in the NFL offense don't play defense. So you know,
- 46:17Speaker 17: we just gotta work on our defense. Got to make
- 46:20Speaker 17: the defense. It was always been the defense.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Oh hold on, hold on, man, I thought this go
- 46:29Speaker 1: to the man. I thought this was gonna be the year.
- 46:33Speaker 5: I thought that this was gonna be the year got
- 46:36Speaker 5: what about thirty six more hours, and it happened. It happened,
- 46:41Speaker 5: It happened.
- 46:41Speaker 1: I thought this was gonna be the year. It was
- 46:43Speaker 1: closer than we being before though, and we're gonna and
- 46:46Speaker 1: we're gonna if we're gonna take pride in something. We
- 46:49Speaker 1: got down to the next to the last day of
- 46:52Speaker 1: the year before he backtracked and said he ain't saying
- 46:55Speaker 1: what he saying close. I just knew this was. You
- 47:00Speaker 1: got some coming. Well, excuse me, the badver ducer told
- 47:03Speaker 1: you to tell me. Then we got some comments. Yeah, okay,
- 47:07Speaker 1: let's go. Yes online listeners, we got mister Antoine Lily said,
- 47:12Speaker 1: good morning.
- 47:13Speaker 5: We have Uncle Charlie said he feel you, sports Jack.
- 47:16Speaker 5: When it comes to the greed, he said he's full
- 47:18Speaker 5: of it. Uh Taco Bell selling chicken nuggets Now, I
- 47:21Speaker 5: mean nothing, nothing exemplifies greed like that. He said, he's
- 47:25Speaker 5: got his coffee. Y'all bring it. Happy New Year.
- 47:29Speaker 11: We have.
- 47:30Speaker 5: Antoine says that you can't man a ship when you
- 47:33Speaker 5: don't have the sailors. No QB one or are running
- 47:37Speaker 5: back this year. Talking about the NFL. Right now, the
- 47:40Speaker 5: Pats have number one pick. That's Jared Lloyd said they
- 47:43Speaker 5: have a QB they think, so Hunter probably will go there.
- 47:48Speaker 5: Then Antoine says that they could trade down and get
- 47:51Speaker 5: some good draft capital help out. And then he also
- 47:54Speaker 5: says that Dion needs to stay in Colorado and let
- 47:58Speaker 5: his sons go be professional players. Let his kids go
- 48:02Speaker 5: be professional for that's now, How old is Antoine?
- 48:06Speaker 1: How old would you say? Okay, so that's that old
- 48:09Speaker 1: mentality right there? Let your kids, yeah, grow up? Yeah,
- 48:14Speaker 1: when when the kids do that, they still doing it
- 48:18Speaker 1: at my house. I'm still I'm still encouraging it. I'm
- 48:23Speaker 1: still encouraging everyone comes and packages everybody. The GM and
- 48:27Speaker 1: the head coach both get fired together. There is no
- 48:30Speaker 1: independence anymore like that. Right, you said I should take
- 48:34Speaker 1: this quarterback, So both of y'all gotta go.
- 48:37Speaker 5: But he said to tell you to tell me, tell
- 48:40Speaker 5: that we should take this quarterback.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Which quarterback? I'm saying, he told me to tell you
- 48:46Speaker 1: pick the quarterback? When now you firing both? Just fire
- 48:50Speaker 1: him because he told me to. But I told you
- 48:52Speaker 1: so you could get fired so he wouldn't know that.
- 48:54Speaker 5: I told you. Look, it's bigger than Nino Brown Sports.
- 49:02Speaker 5: Come Madayday, Come, come Maliday.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Come baby, I'll make your leg safe, make me go crazy, Lady,
- 49:14Speaker 1: don't go away.
- 49:15Speaker 7: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gambia's coming
- 49:18Speaker 7: up next.
- 49:19Speaker 1: Hurting the game.
- 49:20Speaker 9: We tough it out, feel exhausted, we push on feeling down.
- 49:26Speaker 9: We pull ourselves up by the bootstraps. But there are
- 49:29Speaker 9: times when bootstraps aren't enough, when stress gets to us
- 49:33Speaker 9: and we need to talk to someone about what we're

- 51:41Speaker 1: And now back to the sports John Wayne Gaddy.
- 51:46Speaker 23: Center cord On Sports News, gossip, blih blah BLib blah blah.
- 52:15Speaker 1: Look back to this boy Shock show, this Spry Shuck
- 52:17Speaker 1: Wing Gandy. Good morning to you on this thirtieth they December.
- 52:22Speaker 1: We are rolling into the first of twenty twenty five.
- 52:27Speaker 1: Those comments about Dion, I don't see any reason why
- 52:34Speaker 1: if the Raiders wanted to draft your door, they wouldn't
- 52:37Speaker 1: hire dim.
- 52:40Speaker 5: Now that is automatically as a head coup as the
- 52:43Speaker 5: head coach.
- 52:45Speaker 1: I don't know what it is.
- 52:47Speaker 5: That's the new wave?
- 52:49Speaker 1: Why not? What's the negative?
- 52:55Speaker 5: Yeah, in a money grubbing business, this would be a
- 52:59Speaker 5: good move.
- 53:00Speaker 1: The coaching landscape has changed in a way that I
- 53:03Speaker 1: don't know that people are paying attention. There's fifty coaches
- 53:08Speaker 1: over there now there is no limit. And when they
- 53:11Speaker 1: don't can't be on the field, they call them consultants
- 53:15Speaker 1: and they put them up in the press box. That's
- 53:17Speaker 1: why I said old school. Some of the things y'all
- 53:19Speaker 1: are going to where the coach can only have him
- 53:21Speaker 1: in two assistants. That's not new sports, right. Everywhere you go,
- 53:28Speaker 1: somebody's son joins the football team and his daddy now
- 53:31Speaker 1: becomes the coach. That's been the trend. Champ Bailey's son
- 53:37Speaker 1: goes to ninth grade, they want him on the varsity
- 53:39Speaker 1: football team. They make Champ the secondary coach. That's the
- 53:44Speaker 1: game that I don't understand that, and I'm just saying
- 53:50Speaker 1: that that why not send them as a package. But
- 53:55Speaker 1: it's not like you're firing some dude that won a
- 54:00Speaker 1: Super Bowl. You'll be firing Antonio Pierce who in two
- 54:05Speaker 1: years have won how many games?
- 54:08Speaker 16: Yeah?
- 54:08Speaker 5: That kind of seven.
- 54:12Speaker 1: I kind of hate. I bought it up now, hands right,
- 54:17Speaker 1: not firing. You're not firing Andy Reid and trained this combination.
- 54:24Speaker 1: Arizona went and hired what Cliff Kingsbury to coach who
- 54:30Speaker 1: was that Kyler Murray because he had had him in
- 54:33Speaker 1: the same system and Kyle's when he's at Texas A
- 54:37Speaker 1: and M correct, right, he was he was the quarterbacks coach,
- 54:42Speaker 1: yeah somewhere and he had something like that. So you know,
- 54:47Speaker 1: I'm not saying that's the best thing I'm saying, but
- 54:50Speaker 1: it's not an unbelievable thing. And if I'm the Patriots
- 54:54Speaker 1: with the first pick, my biggest thing is by draft
- 54:57Speaker 1: Travis Hunter, which side of the Baldwin play them on?
- 55:03Speaker 1: That would be their biggest dilemma, or how to work
- 55:06Speaker 1: him on some offensive plays, because do I take him
- 55:09Speaker 1: and try to match him up and let him be
- 55:12Speaker 1: Drake May's justin Jefferson? Is that what the team needs?
- 55:17Speaker 12: More?
- 55:22Speaker 1: I think the kid wants to play receiver, you because
- 55:25Speaker 1: the receiver position brings more spotlight. He shut down corner Now,
- 55:30Speaker 1: don't really do it no more. Just that's the thing.
- 55:32Speaker 1: It'll come back around. But you don't get this.
- 55:36Speaker 5: To You only get like two of those at a time.
- 55:41Speaker 5: But do you think that they'll try and placate his
- 55:44Speaker 5: desire to play both sides of the ball for a while,
- 55:47Speaker 5: I mean traditionally.
- 55:49Speaker 1: Not as fully because he can't he won't be able
- 55:51Speaker 1: to physically do it do it right in a way
- 55:55Speaker 1: where he can do it full time on both sides. Now,
- 55:58Speaker 1: you can put him at cornerback and then you can
- 56:00Speaker 1: run packages for that, or you can put him more
- 56:04Speaker 1: on offense and then in a certain coverage at certain times.
- 56:09Speaker 15: But.
- 56:10Speaker 1: Their biggest delimber is and I think he would be
- 56:15Speaker 1: more based on the team you're taking too. Drake may
- 56:18Speaker 1: needs a receiver one try to hunting with the best
- 56:24Speaker 1: receiver in the country, and he likes to do that
- 56:26Speaker 1: low dance he does. What would you put in Batty duson.
- 56:31Speaker 17: Receiver first, because that's where most of his big plays
- 56:34Speaker 17: have been so far. So I mean, like I said,
- 56:38Speaker 17: you can run me in on the defensive side on
- 56:40Speaker 17: a cover or the cover two or something, or where
- 56:43Speaker 17: he could cover. He could play that spot as a
- 56:46Speaker 17: rover or strong safety to play to cover that running
- 56:49Speaker 17: back or that tight end out. He could possibly not
- 56:51Speaker 17: really try to be shut down corner to keep that
- 56:54Speaker 17: energy up because if he tipped to be that short
- 56:56Speaker 17: shut down corner on a whole series, then he got
- 56:59Speaker 17: to go and run a sprint, I mean a route
- 57:03Speaker 17: where he got to take the man down the field
- 57:05Speaker 17: or something like that.
- 57:06Speaker 5: You know you're taking a lot of energy.
- 57:08Speaker 1: Yeah, he won't get plays off just because he's Travis Huner, right,
- 57:12Speaker 1: They're gonna test him in the college, you know, have
- 57:14Speaker 1: a quarterback and throw against him. So a lot of
- 57:16Speaker 1: players he's getting to stand over there and play away
- 57:20Speaker 1: from the ball. He's not even in the action.
- 57:23Speaker 17: And that's why I said, basically, I would play him
- 57:25Speaker 17: more of a short, but I wouldn't even try to
- 57:27Speaker 17: put him like an out there at that shutdown corner
- 57:30Speaker 17: if I did play defense.
- 57:32Speaker 1: The Browns have reworked their contract with DeShawn Watson kind
- 57:39Speaker 1: of figured they would have to do something, especially on
- 57:41Speaker 1: Deshaun's part, if he wants to stay part of that organization.
- 57:45Speaker 1: I don't know if this makes it easier for him
- 57:47Speaker 1: to stay or to be traded. I would imagine both
- 57:51Speaker 1: with some kind of restructured or where they can now
- 57:54Speaker 1: move him where they probably couldn't well, we know they couldn't.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Definitely couldn't move him on a guaranteed track. Nobody would
- 58:02Speaker 1: take him. But now they've situated that DeShawn Jackson is
- 58:05Speaker 1: now the head coach up at the Delaware State is
- 58:10Speaker 1: DeShawn didn't even know Deshaun had been thinking about coaching.
- 58:14Speaker 1: Last time I think I saw him, he was on
- 58:15Speaker 1: some podcast smoking weed with another football player who was
- 58:19Speaker 1: that that's unusual with Leshawn McCoy. Shawn McCoy, yeahs the Shady. Yeah.
- 58:25Speaker 17: The last time we seen him was here in Atlanta.
- 58:27Speaker 17: He was houting at your boy and they yeah, And
- 58:30Speaker 17: I'm like, hey man, that's a call. Delaware is a
- 58:34Speaker 17: Delaware State called him. You know, Michael Vickers at the
- 58:37Speaker 17: Norfolk State. I'm Deshaun Watson as the head coach at
- 58:41Speaker 17: Delaware State. So what's now in the HBC C level
- 58:46Speaker 17: is hiring high profile former NFL athletes to be your
- 58:52Speaker 17: head coach, Sam Shay to be your president is now
- 58:55Speaker 17: the head coach. Sam Shade played about eight years in
- 58:59Speaker 17: the NFL. He's new head coach over at Alabama A
- 59:01Speaker 17: and m uh he's a former NFL player as well.
- 59:06Speaker 17: But I think Sam has been coaching different than Mike
- 59:09Speaker 17: and the shun. Sam has actually win.
- 59:13Speaker 5: In in the HBC. He's been coaching on that territory.
- 59:17Speaker 5: And you said Sean Jackson is coaching now Delaware Delaware
- 59:21Speaker 5: and you smoke weed on pail a lot of and
- 59:27Speaker 5: see that again, people just doing stuff that they think
- 59:31Speaker 5: will make them popular. Now, because my thing is, he's
- 59:34Speaker 5: never seen like the type that promoted that. You went
- 59:37Speaker 5: through a whole career promoting that lack of morals does
- 59:41Speaker 5: not help hurt you anymore. As long as your fame
- 59:45Speaker 5: is bigger than your morals, you can do anything. That's
- 59:49Speaker 5: why Snoop can be at the Olympics. It's real.
- 59:55Speaker 1: That's why you got That's why he got all that stuff.
- 59:56Speaker 5: You got a bowl game.
- 59:57Speaker 1: Now, the fame of him is bigger than bigger than
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: what he the lack of morals of whatever you might think,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: from his music to smoking, to owning strip clubs and
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: all that kind of stuff, no matter gang banging. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: we'll be back more to Sports Jock Show right after.
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: This, and.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: Sure sure.
- 1:00:31Speaker 7: Joone Bowl Wayne Born of the Sports Jock Show with
- 1:00:34Speaker 7: Wayne Gamvidia's coming up next.
- 1:00:39Speaker 5: Hear that.
- 1:00:41Speaker 24: That's the sound of your life, perfectly imperfect, beating in
- 1:00:48Speaker 24: rhythm to the world you've created. But every time you
- 1:00:53Speaker 24: drive after drinking, music gets drowned out. Your life's pretty great.
- 1:01:01Speaker 24: Don't let a buzz ruin it. Buzz driving is drunk driving.
- 1:01:04Speaker 24: Don't drive buzzed. A message from Knits and the ID Council.
- 1:01:07Speaker 24: And now let's talk about something exciting. Life insurance.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: Three quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: piece of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: have life insurance.
- 1:01:18Speaker 25: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:01:20Speaker 25: just getting started with our family and thought, we live
- 1:01:22Speaker 25: forever life insurance. What's the last thing on my mind?
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: What about you?
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:01:28Speaker 25: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 1:01:30Speaker 25: bills piling up, I was worried how my family will
- 1:01:32Speaker 25: survive without me. That's when I'm in an appointment with
- 1:01:34Speaker 25: the insurance informant.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: Information gives you power, and life insurance gives your family
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: security no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 1:01:41Speaker 25: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 1:01:43Speaker 25: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: The answer is easy, whether you're twenty five or fifty,
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: whether you earn a little or a lot, All you
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: need is the insurance informant to help you build a
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: foundation of security, because without you, your family will have
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: two options, benefits or bills? Which legacy will you behind?
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: Log on today? Benefits or bills?
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Dot Com? That's benefits or bills dot Com? No, it
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: is enough, I don't have any Why shall share your sucking?
- 1:02:16Speaker 8: We hold the world bransom for.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: Excuse me while I whip this out. Sure Broadcasting Live
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: and Atlanta, Georgia. This this is the Sports Shot Ship

- 1:02:35Speaker 3: Show outcome so far comes and it comes.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: To look is it just I'm a doing Yeah, I'm
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: gonna go on the way you made Vegan. Welcome back
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: to the Sport Shock Show. I'm the Sportshock Wayne Gandy.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Good morning to you out there listening. When bad producer,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: bring that gang banging energy to the mic, Man, you
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: you should see yourself. That's what we want on the show.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: When you go to talking about that hood stuff. Man,
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: that energy you have it is something special. It's like
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: a star exploding. I've never seen It's been a long
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: time since I've seen that kind of youthfulness out of you. Man.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: You went to talk about the rolling sixties and that
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: gang banging baby and you love it. Bring it to
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: the mic. Bring us that energy, Big Kenny, bring it
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: to us. Come as you You saw it, didn't you?
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: We saw it? Man? You thought he won that lottery
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: ticket over and callity for the bill.
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: That's cool billion because that's where they originate.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: I ain't seen that kind of energy. He got up
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: and walked around and everything he was animated tripping a man.
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: I mean, I mean, really it really, I'm with all
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: the goofiness.
- 1:03:54Speaker 17: I'm with it a lot of times, but a lot
- 1:03:57Speaker 17: of times but he said a lot of But seriously, though,
- 1:04:01Speaker 17: this young man, and I'm not discrediting him as an
- 1:04:04Speaker 17: athlete or anything else, but when you know that, you
- 1:04:07Speaker 17: know that this is what he ought, that what he
- 1:04:10Speaker 17: do off the field, and it's affiliated, and then you
- 1:04:14Speaker 17: gotta think, like, are you gonna denounce that?
- 1:04:17Speaker 26: Now?
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: Are you gonna what are you gonna do?
- 1:04:19Speaker 17: When you got a guy, a kid that he's in
- 1:04:21Speaker 17: another neighborhood that claims this affiliation.
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: Let me ask you something, though, do you do you
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: do you think that one of the things that sports
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: jock said it was that as long as your fame
- 1:04:32Speaker 5: outweighs your lack of moral everything is cool. Do you
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: think that part of that is that we as the
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: general public have boxed organizations in to having and enforcing
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: morals and codes of conduct because we've been conditioned to
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: believe that that's you somehow snatching something from me. Culturally,
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: that's something you're snatching from me. H inherently in my DNA,
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: you're you're hindering my civil rights, that kind of thing.
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: So if I say, nah, you can't come here because
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: you smoked weed on camera, now all.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: Of so, no people smoke weed to calm down. It's medicinal,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: it's and we can no longer have to make moral
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: code that we enforced because you're gonna sue me. Well,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: first he gonna say, well, we was in California where
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: it's legal. Now I'm saying no, no, no difference. That's
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: my camera, which always it's a something that allows you
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: to be something you're not supposed to be. It's my point.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: But why allowing a man who's willing to use drugs
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: on film to coach impressionable children at the college level?
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: But did you not hear what you said? It's all
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: about the money.
- 1:05:52Speaker 17: I couldn't understand Coach Sanders when he said where it's
- 1:05:54Speaker 17: legal in Colorado? If I smell any smoke on the
- 1:05:57Speaker 17: floor lit up all of a sudden. Now you won't
- 1:05:59Speaker 17: get to the base. He's asked you and.
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: Man not to embarrass their university and their team. We
- 1:06:07Speaker 5: are here together. It ain't about just you. Let's go
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: as a team and represent this wonderful university that it's
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: given us. This opportunity to be here. And all I'm
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: saying is none of that matters anymore. It used to matter.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: But if a kid gets kicked off the team, then
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: the world goes at coach Prime for having Morrows. Why
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: you kick him, deny him a chance to play because
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: he smoked weed at the hotel and they weren't in Colorado,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: and they weren't in Colorado. Cam Newton declares that the
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: WNBA will be more popular in Major League Baseball in
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: twenty years. Can you see what page Cam is on
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: on that? Let's say that again, Cam Newton, the great
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: Cam Newton, which is already a barrier believe people to
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: believe in something. Is that Cam Newton said it?
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: But go ahead?
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: As a Sports Now analysts, he says he believes the
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: WNBA will pass Major League Baseball's popularity.
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: I think he's on the something right there. But seriously, okay, explained.
- 1:07:20Speaker 17: Because of the fact, man, if you look at the WNBA,
- 1:07:23Speaker 17: it's the biggest sports story of the year. But just
- 1:07:27Speaker 17: if you say you had to say it was, the
- 1:07:30Speaker 17: WNBA is up there, just because of the fact that
- 1:07:33Speaker 17: all the press that they got, all the everything, whether
- 1:07:37Speaker 17: it was good press or bad press, and now you
- 1:07:39Speaker 17: got people with their eyes on it. And I just
- 1:07:42Speaker 17: think that baseball doesn't have the characters that you can
- 1:07:47Speaker 17: have and the that they we can create within the WNBA.
- 1:07:50Speaker 17: You can with these ladies, these ladies, there's others, with
- 1:07:53Speaker 17: the young ladies that are coming up now from our
- 1:07:57Speaker 17: daughters to nieces and nieces and different things who are
- 1:08:01Speaker 17: playing ball and they see these These are the most
- 1:08:05Speaker 17: visible ladies as far as professionally in sports.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: To me, well, let me ask you this. The only
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: two storylines I knew about the w NBA this year,
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: it's Caitlyn Clark and haters of Caitlin Clark. Those are
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: the only two stories. No, there's a lot more stories.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: Just the haters part of it stood out.
- 1:08:30Speaker 17: Well, there's the angel reside of and then you got
- 1:08:34Speaker 17: the whole league just in general, just the story of
- 1:08:37Speaker 17: them moving from going to getting to fly now uh.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: No travels Caitlyn Clark.
- 1:08:44Speaker 17: I understand that's part of Caitton Clark. It's part of
- 1:08:47Speaker 17: the deal. But as I stated, and I'm gonna stick
- 1:08:50Speaker 17: to it, I believe that these ladies can be more popular.
- 1:08:53Speaker 17: It's more of an entertainment value that you can put
- 1:08:58Speaker 17: these ladies in more commercials Madison Avenue than the baseball players.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: Because the baseball players we right now you see where
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: Cam Newton is coming from. No drugs, probably I'm a
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: magic drugs and a lot of unresolved emotional and mental
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: issues would be my guests. As the NBA passed Major
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: League Baseball now in terms of popularity something now we're
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: talking about the same Major League Baseball. That's hard.
- 1:09:27Speaker 12: It's hard to say because it's I think with baseball
- 1:09:31Speaker 12: as far as popularity, like teams, the popular teams are players.
- 1:09:36Speaker 12: It's very top heavy like Okay, Yankees, Dodgers, you know,
- 1:09:44Speaker 12: the Mets, big markets in that way. And then at
- 1:09:47Speaker 12: the bottom if it's like you know Tampa Bay, Uh,
- 1:09:51Speaker 12: the Angels not just popular but on average it's right there.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: Well, please do in the commercial break. Look because the
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: NBA has been losing popularity the last nine years. It's
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: documented that their numbers are deteriorating. I wonder if that
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: is true for Major League Baseball. We're talking about the
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: same Major League Baseball been around since eighteen seventy six.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: Yeah'n't been around through arena football and uh women's foot
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: and I didn't even know the WNBA had passed college basketball.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: The WNBA was like, I think it took a big eight. Yeah,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: it took a bit seventh eighth in popularity. I didn't
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: know it had passed college football.
- 1:10:39Speaker 5: And I'm talking about the w NBA just started emerging
- 1:10:42Speaker 5: in the last really couple of years women's basketball.
- 1:10:45Speaker 12: I think it's coming to their brother's perspective of someone
- 1:10:48Speaker 12: who wants to have somebody just talking about baseball, doesn't
- 1:10:52Speaker 12: know it, doesn't really know much of anything, and then
- 1:10:56Speaker 12: ladies in and then the WNBA probably appeals more to
- 1:11:00Speaker 12: him over way over baseball. So someone's gonna have that
- 1:11:04Speaker 12: perspective that, oh, the WNBA is more popular, but it's
- 1:11:07Speaker 12: more of I watched the WNBA and I don't watch.
- 1:11:10Speaker 17: Baseball, And lately the only thing with baseball we've been
- 1:11:14Speaker 17: all the time we talk about it unless somebody get
- 1:11:15Speaker 17: a big contract or some kind of scandal in a
- 1:11:20Speaker 17: sense with baseball, I mean, there's really not hadn't been
- 1:11:23Speaker 17: like that.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: I haven't talked. I haven't taught WNBA except for Caitlan
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: Clark period period. If it hasn't been Caitlin Clark, what
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: has been the storyline? Angel Reyes elbowing Caitlyn Clark, the
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: girl from South Carolina, saying she should have been drafted
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: before Caitlyn. All of it relates back to k the
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: coach saying, the owner saying that, I think all Caitlyn Clark,
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: them expanding the arena, them not even having to play.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: Before it was Caitlyn Clark on the WNBA. It was
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Caitlin Clark at Iowa period, and then before that, it
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: was what what what darkness?
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: It was? What was it?
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: What wasn't. As far as baseball, we have been talking
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: about Showy A. Toney for the last four or five years,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: even though about Aaron Judge and the home run chase.
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: Correct, we've been talking about all it's the monumental gun.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: It's been more talking about South Carolina women's basketball winning
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: championships than it has been about the w n WNBA.
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: But again, this is Cam Newton saying that you got
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: to check your swords.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: Okay, So I didn't know they had reached the popularity
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: of those sports.
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: They didn't know they reached the popularity of these sports.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: I think they're just pushing the gun too fast. I
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: think they are jumping adding teams on something that is
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: one person, Caitlin Clark is not at Iowa. We haven't
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: talked much about college basketball this year. As good as
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: Notre Dame is as good as Juju Watkins is for USCY,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: we haven't really been talking about those matchups. I even
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: referenced that Paige Buker's was playing Juju Watkins and it
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: really wasn't no real what I.
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: Forgot about it?
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: We'll be back from sports.
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: Thanks, Thanks.
- 1:13:36Speaker 7: John Bowl, Wayne Board of The Sports Jock Show with
- 1:13:39Speaker 7: Wayne Ganpias coming up next.
- 1:13:42Speaker 11: In sitcoms, when someone has a problem, they just blurt
- 1:13:45Speaker 11: it out and move on.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: Well, I lost my job and my parakeet is missing.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: How is your day?
- 1:13:53Speaker 11: But the real world is different. Managing life's challenges could
- 1:13:56Speaker 11: be overwhelming.
- 1:13:57Speaker 18: So what do we do?
- 1:13:58Speaker 5: We get support.

- 1:16:27Speaker 1: that when I say the great to my people with

- 1:19:36Speaker 1: he did look seventy eight. He did not look seventy
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: eight at all years old. And the HBO founder Cable
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: Vision as well. Charles Dolan used to own well, the
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: Dolan family still owns, doesn't it, Madison Square Garden, the Knicks,
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: the Rangers. His son just owns them now or he
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: passed it down to them to run it. But Charles
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: Dolan passed away at ninety eight, So he was an
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: overachiever as well.
- 1:20:05Speaker 5: Yeah, he liked Oakley, his sons don't like.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: I'm a buye a venue and then I'm gonna live
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: so long that it goes out letting black people do
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: the front door. Ninety eight years old. Sadly, I'm seeing
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: a young picture. Former Major League star one Jamie has
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: passed away at the age of thirty seven. He played
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: a couple of years here for the Braves. Suffered a
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: heart attack. He was a picture. He passed away at
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: age thirty seven from heart attack. A lot of times
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: when you have heart attacks in that age, drain their
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: hereditary Yeah, in your family, an addict that's you know,
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: been around, been around there is with I think Comandie
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: Greg sent me this horror films being made out of Popeye, Popeye,
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: the Sailor Man. Yeah, so the.
- 1:21:07Speaker 12: The Popeye character is entering the public domain next starting
- 1:21:15Speaker 12: on January first, and there are already three horror films
- 1:21:19Speaker 12: in the works around the Popeye character.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: And was that how he was originally written as a
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: horror character. No, No, it was just an animated.
- 1:21:31Speaker 5: Although he would go through some ghoulish situation.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: Yeah, he would always skeleton, but he was always more
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: like the superhero more superheroes.
- 1:21:44Speaker 12: So they're gonna make him into a hero hopefully, right,
- 1:21:47Speaker 12: it would just it would just be a horror film,
- 1:21:49Speaker 12: but he would be a hero, but he would be
- 1:21:51Speaker 12: a character in the horror films.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: There's heroes and horror films. I've never seen one. Oh yeah,
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: which horror film had a hero?
- 1:22:01Speaker 5: All of them? The people who survived? Survivor? Yeah, that
- 1:22:08Speaker 5: that's not that's not a hero who killed off the villain.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:22:12Speaker 5: If it's not a hero, okay, what is it? We
- 1:22:16Speaker 5: have to find out what it is. But it's technically
- 1:22:18Speaker 5: not a hero. Hero is Batman a hero?
- 1:22:21Speaker 9: Hero?
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: Heroes? She just get away.
- 1:22:29Speaker 5: She saved me from you know, she got away. Everybody
- 1:22:32Speaker 5: else got killed.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: She just got away. She's got speaking of and are
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: we going to have a last clock in for this year?
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: Got a couple of work permits here, can get I'll
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: give you a work from it? Okay for just one,
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: just one, as it always has been. Got to work
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: gotta go with okay, love love domestic violence, said the
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: People's champ.
- 1:22:58Speaker 5: Were on our way to John some residents. Again.
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: She didn't touch him, she didn't put her hands on him.
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: I'd be standing in the front yard with my t
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: shirt rip. I'm tired of this, Layla. I'm not doing
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: this no more. Missus Jones. Is that you're the one
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: called now one?
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: Yes?
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: I did? She inside, Look at my eye, Look at
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: my eye. You gotta protect yourself at all the time,
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: Missus Jones. She keeps saying that. Every time she swing
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: on me, she say protect yourself at all time. This
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: ain't no boxing ring.
- 1:23:27Speaker 5: This my home.
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: We'll be back water Sports DC Show right after this.

- 1:24:33Speaker 28: some people only see who I am on paper. The

- 1:25:58Speaker 1: And now back to the Sports John Wayne.
- 1:26:01Speaker 23: Gandy Player's Lounge. I've been given full access to the
- 1:26:09Speaker 23: player's lounge on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gangy.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: Well, what make just what shucks? Show him this what shuck?
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: Wing Candy. Good morning to you out there listening. We're
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: just playing some of the genius music that passed away
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: this year. Artist that passed away in twenty twenty four.
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: Bad producer doing the break. Talking to you, is you
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: get me understand why religion got so fractured while there's
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: like nine different Baptist churches on the same street and
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: they just one because you you just take anything and
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: just declare it to start being something as as you
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: want it to be. Very interesting how it is. You're
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: just gonna make hero be however it fit your hero heroism.
- 1:27:43Speaker 5: What I see is a hero you should. I mean,
- 1:27:46Speaker 5: so I don't know.
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: And see and that's why I say, that's how religion
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: and that's part of Jesus. I see it, and that's
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: enough and that's all it takes.
- 1:27:57Speaker 5: That's all got to be fact, no justice and no
- 1:28:03Speaker 5: like today's math understanding cipher. So as long as you
- 1:28:07Speaker 5: have the understanding in your circle, listen, listen, things would
- 1:28:11Speaker 5: be better.
- 1:28:13Speaker 13: And I learned this.
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: I don't hold on. I don't get this whole cipher.
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: Math is math.
- 1:28:18Speaker 5: And Jared made a comment about me being a cop
- 1:28:21Speaker 5: county five percenter because I'm wearing the nit cap. The
- 1:28:24Speaker 5: nit cap he thinks is a coofie. It's not just
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: a nick cat, just a nick cat old school. So he,
- 1:28:31Speaker 5: like Marvin Gaye, used to wear one like this is,
- 1:28:33Speaker 5: which is kind of was great at making making it
- 1:28:37Speaker 5: making a mean nick cap.
- 1:28:40Speaker 19: Right.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: I didn't look over and think five percent.
- 1:28:43Speaker 5: But Jared did because he lives on the East coast
- 1:28:45Speaker 5: and he's trying to be relevant like his girlfriend.
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: People still talking about five percent and relevant now and
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: have a long in two ears And oh, I just
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: thought that a nice old.
- 1:28:58Speaker 5: Old school cap. But he tried to turn it into
- 1:29:01Speaker 5: something else, Jared, But he always tries to turn into
- 1:29:07Speaker 5: take us in the vortex, and what.
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: He tried to do, that's what y'all twins.
- 1:29:10Speaker 5: I was just this dude just said and take us
- 1:29:13Speaker 5: into the vortex, like he ain't the vortex door keeper.
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: The Sacramento Kings have fired head coach Mike Brown for
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: I guess feeling like they underachieving you brought in, uh
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: bustwoman from the Bulls Rosen. You put in with Fox Fox,
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: and you feel like you got something. And I guess
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: they're underachieving. They got Mike Brown out of there, and
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: they underachieving. So I'm gonna fire you. And we saw
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: that two years ago when they made maybe deep into
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: the playoffs last year. That was two years ago. I
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: thought it was two years ago, but I don't know.
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: I thought it was last Yeah, I'm sorry, and that's
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: all I.
- 1:30:03Speaker 7: Thought.
- 1:30:05Speaker 26: I thought.
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: Isaiah Thomas, the Great Isaiah Thomas of Detroit Pistons has
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: revealed that he.
- 1:30:13Speaker 5: Has Bill's palsy, Bell's palsy.
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: And I have a great friend of mine who just
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: went through a Bill's palsy battle about four three four
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: years ago. Yeah, I had covered front Oh did you?
- 1:30:27Speaker 5: I had it maybe about ten years ago. And you know,
- 1:30:33Speaker 5: it's difficult for people in general, but for a person
- 1:30:37Speaker 5: whose occupation is talking, it was and being in front
- 1:30:43Speaker 5: of people, in front of a camera, that kind of thing.
- 1:30:45Speaker 5: It was very difficult because it makes your side of
- 1:30:48Speaker 5: your face droop, you have a slurch speech. There's a
- 1:30:52Speaker 5: lot of pain when the nerves start to regenerate. So
- 1:30:55Speaker 5: you're going through that, and everybody know some man, do
- 1:30:58Speaker 5: you have a stroke?
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: Was going to I said, I think.
- 1:31:01Speaker 5: People confuse it with a stroke a lot, which is
- 1:31:03Speaker 5: concerning because when you're going through it, you're thinking, man,
- 1:31:07Speaker 5: I'm having a stroke because you know, my mouth ain't
- 1:31:10Speaker 5: right and my face ain't right. And then they tell
- 1:31:13Speaker 5: you it's bales palsy, which most people haven't heard of.
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: You're like, what is that?
- 1:31:17Speaker 5: And you're wondering about the long term effects. The scary
- 1:31:21Speaker 5: part about it, though, is it can range from moderate
- 1:31:24Speaker 5: to severe. I had a moderate case clears up in
- 1:31:27Speaker 5: about thirty thirty five days, but if it comes back,
- 1:31:32Speaker 5: the damage can be permanent. So if it comes back,
- 1:31:35Speaker 5: it's usually more severe in people have been left with
- 1:31:38Speaker 5: their faces contorted and things like that permanently.
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: And watching NBATV about three weeks ago, I saw Isaiah
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: Thomas doing a broadcast and you could tell it looks
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: like he had had a stroke. And the only reason
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: I knew was because I had a good friend of
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: mine who had just gone through it, that those symptoms
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: are outwardly the same of what you have been taught
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: that a stroke victim looks like Bill's palsy registers and
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: from researching back then, they don't really know what causes it.
- 1:32:16Speaker 5: My doctor said that it is a combin It's a
- 1:32:19Speaker 5: virus that is enhanced by stress and exhaustion. So stressed
- 1:32:30Speaker 5: out people, people are tired, their body starts to break down,
- 1:32:34Speaker 5: the virus infects you, and then all of those factors
- 1:32:39Speaker 5: converge in a way that this happens.
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: Is what they told me.
- 1:32:43Speaker 5: That sounded like everybody, I'll have it.
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: Did you know?
- 1:32:47Speaker 5: That's kind of where I was. If it's just stressed
- 1:32:49Speaker 5: and people tired, come everybody and got it.
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: So we were talking about Bowl games earlier. Miami cam
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: War their quarterback who should find himself in the first round,
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: decided to sit out the second half of their game,
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: the Pop Tart Bowl that they were playing, and everybody
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: wanted to scrutinize this young man and label everybody needs
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: a label. All I can say about this. They were
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: playing Aluea State is typically in these situations the best
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: you can get if you're not playing for anything. Unlike
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: even Dion and his guys, some guys have done that well.
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: They when they got insurance policies. A lot of guys
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: want to experience their last game in bowl games with
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: their friends, even though they know they're going to have
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: a chance to continue to play at the pro level.
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: But if cam Ward and his head coach, a lot
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: of times you discuss bowl games in a sense like
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: a preseason game, how teams play preseason games, meaning like
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: I'll play the first half if something like that was
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: put on the table, and that's why cam I don't know.
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: I haven't read full of reports on it. Maybe that's
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: why he didn't play in the second half. And if
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: that's the case, even if the game becomes tight, you
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: don't go against that in a preseason game. If the
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: game is ten to ten with two minutes to go,
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: you don't go back take the starter and put them
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: back in the game. You just let my game happen.
- 1:34:43Speaker 12: The story again, like what I even read is that
- 1:34:46Speaker 12: he opted out of the second half. Okay, as far
- 1:34:50Speaker 12: as any discussion with the coach that no one's that
- 1:34:56Speaker 12: hasn't come out yet or nobody has talked about that.
- 1:34:59Speaker 5: Well.
- 1:35:00Speaker 12: Mario Christobald, the Miami head coach, he said that all meetings,
- 1:35:05Speaker 12: we keep them private, so I prefer not to answer
- 1:35:08Speaker 12: as it relates to.
- 1:35:09Speaker 5: That, and people are never satisfied. When these high profile
- 1:35:16Speaker 5: athletes playing these meaningless bowl games. They go, oh, man,
- 1:35:20Speaker 5: you should shit out. You don't want to risk injuring
- 1:35:22Speaker 5: yourself and not being ready for the draft. And when
- 1:35:25Speaker 5: they play, people go, oh man, you took yourself out
- 1:35:27Speaker 5: of it. I mean, there's never a win.
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: But me as a coach, though, I think Crystal Ball
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: should step up and stay that I gave him that
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: option to opt out, and that gives you, well, if
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: he didn't, he needs to say he didn't.
- 1:35:40Speaker 5: Have that option. Why why that might damage his drafts?
- 1:35:43Speaker 17: Well, I mean it's already people are already saying that
- 1:35:46Speaker 17: all he shouldn't have He shouldn't opt out, he should
- 1:35:48Speaker 17: have played anyway, And that's sports dark said that you
- 1:35:50Speaker 17: don't switch that up if you already with two minutes
- 1:35:53Speaker 17: to go and you hadn't played. So my I'm just
- 1:35:55Speaker 17: saying that it should be some point it should have said, Hey,
- 1:35:58Speaker 17: I gave him the option of choice.
- 1:36:00Speaker 5: He chose not to play in the second half. We
- 1:36:01Speaker 5: didn't know.
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: And if I didn't give him the option and he
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: set out, then what.
- 1:36:08Speaker 12: Now?
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: Why is that your business?
- 1:36:11Speaker 5: It's going to be our business anyway, because they're talking
- 1:36:14Speaker 5: about it.
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: No, it's not speculating about it. But you see speculation.
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: That's killed the speculation. Why they made the twenty four
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: hour Sports news is just a whole bunch of speculation.
- 1:36:27Speaker 5: Go ahead and kill the speculation so you.
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: Don't know whether he said out or not.
- 1:36:31Speaker 5: And see, this is the thing. Speculations comes from.
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: The You're one of those people who loved and used
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: to ask me to Auburn. Pay me right?
- 1:36:38Speaker 17: Nah, I ain't never asked no, no, yes, that's how
- 1:36:41Speaker 17: you talk. But I wouldn't something I didn't say.
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: You asked me that. I say, you talked like that.
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: But I'm just saying, speculate on things that didn't go
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: on or who didn't do what? And I used to
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: always wonder why do you think I would tell you
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: the answer to that?
- 1:36:55Speaker 5: And that stuff is driven by people who speculate actually
- 1:36:59Speaker 5: feel like they have a need to know.
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: But that is all seculation late and the next thing,
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: you know, I'll be drafted. I tell the people that's important.
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: So when the giants come in here and ask me, hey,
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: what did Cam do? I can tell them. I can
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: tell them, yeah, well I don't need to tell you.
- 1:37:17Speaker 5: You ain't you ain't in.
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: I think Mario is doing it. If Cam didn't and
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: if Cam and him hadn't greed, I think this is big.
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: That Mario would step in solid and keep his young
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: man protected makes sense to me, Mario. Either way, it
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: doesn't help Cam for you to come out and satisfy
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: the bad producers need. We'll be back with more than
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 1:37:48Speaker 5: Custom right, make.
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: You feel some tightful?
- 1:37:50Speaker 17: What I say got me feeling some type of CAM
- 1:37:55Speaker 17: because my homies rich you feel some typeful.
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: We don't go away.
- 1:38:00Speaker 7: A war of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Dambidia's

- 1:39:49Speaker 5: So what should I do with all these coals?
- 1:39:51Speaker 14: Don't just toss them out? Put them in a metal container,
- 1:39:53Speaker 14: because those embers can start a wildfire.
- 1:39:56Speaker 5: I understand the stakes are high.

- 1:40:31Speaker 1: a lock on.
- 1:40:32Speaker 21: Say you can see the sports jaint I'll sing even
- 1:40:36Speaker 21: Big Jenny.
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: Walking back to the spot Shock Show The spot Shock,
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: Wayne Agandeed, we were talking about popularity, Cam Newton saying
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: maybe in twenty years he felt like the WNBA, And
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: I think what Greg said was the WNBA would be
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: more popular than baseball. I think what Greg alluded to
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: sometimes we were been talking about this before the show
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: with music that you three guys are part of that too,
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: But I'm just using a number that two percent of
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: just music enthusiasts, savants, people that listen to all kinds
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: of music all the time enough to know era of
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: the You know that sometimes you think everybody is that
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: well versed in some something in the music where they're not.
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: And you alluded to Cam probably doesn't watch a lot
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: of baseball, So if you don't pay attention, it's like, unfortunately,
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: this table is not a big hockey watching table. I'm
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: just being honest. You know, we talk about hockey from
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: the sense of if a story pops up, if the
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: coach do something, or if a team wins, or but
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: as far as a day to day action, the action
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: somebody got a hat trick type thing, we don't really
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: talk about it. And I actually watched hockey yesterday and
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: it Ovechen is what a couple of goals away from
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: passing Greg Gretzki. You know, little statements like that we know,
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: but as far as the day to day we don't
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: really know. And I was just looking up and I'm
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: quite sure maybe on other platforms. I just googled what
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: are the most popular sports in the US A and
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: it says that right now is American Football Baseball, then
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: basketball NBA, so it's NFL, Major League Baseball, NBA four
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: is the National Hockey League, and five is Major League soccer.
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: So at the very least, the WNBA would have to
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: jump up six what five positions to take over base ball. Yes,
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: well it has to be more. It has to become
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: more popular than he said twenty the NBA. Now, listen
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: what I'm saying though, before it could getch baseball. It
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: would have to become more popular than the NBABA before
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: it can catch baseball.
- 1:43:18Speaker 5: But it's got to jump soccer first.
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, Yes, that's what I'm saying. It's got
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: to jump soccer. It's gotta jump what else hockey? Hockey,
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: and then jump the NBA, then jump baseball. I don't know,
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: first of all, just basketball to basketball. Do you really
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: think in the next twenty years that the WNBA will
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: jump the NBA and be more popular and even contend
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: with taking on the base Not just.
- 1:43:52Speaker 12: Though it has to jump tennis, it has to jump
- 1:43:56Speaker 12: uh mma, has to jump golf.
- 1:44:00Speaker 5: And see Cam Newton jump WWE and Cam Newton and
- 1:44:04Speaker 5: Cam Newton being a professional entertainment right, and because he's
- 1:44:08Speaker 5: a professional athlete and was one of the best to
- 1:44:10Speaker 5: have done it when he was doing it, people take
- 1:44:13Speaker 5: his word as an authority. And now there are people
- 1:44:16Speaker 5: out there on somewhere willing to argue that point when
- 1:44:19Speaker 5: they don't want to go to the stats.
- 1:44:21Speaker 17: Numbers don't lie. Well, don't you looking at it right now?
- 1:44:23Speaker 17: But he said twenty years, in twenty years with the possibility.
- 1:44:27Speaker 12: But even within twenty years, it still has to jump
- 1:44:31Speaker 12: all of those leagues.
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: It would actually have to become the second most popular
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: sport in the country. And I don't see that in
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: twenty years or to see.
- 1:44:43Speaker 5: The top five.
- 1:44:46Speaker 11: We just.
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: Okay, Uh, Travis Hunter looks like he signed with Young
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: Money signing with Lil Wayne Sports a agency. Yes he did,
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: because we know how we saved. We saw we saw
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: Lo Wayne at the Heisman Trophy ceremony. I love the
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: way that Travis and Lol Wayne played it off as
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: though Lo Wayne just kind of was there, found himself
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: at the same ballroom. He made seem like, oh man,
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: Lil Wayne was walking out in the hallway and I
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: just told him to come get a sea. And now
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: we find that he signed with Young Money Entertainment. Uh so, uh,
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: kudos to those two are trying to make that collabo.
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: Uh and Lil Wayne has been around, especially Dion's program,
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: for a while and typically in these situations, and I
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: don't know the status of a young money sports someone
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: like Lil Wayne in the agency that he is representing.
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: A lot of times we will take on a Travis
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: Hunter to get their business going. So it'll be one
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: of those situations where Travis, they're basically working for free
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: and we'll use this to try to catapult us to
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: the day we gotta be good man. Look and I'm
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: saying that because that's kind of how I started with
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: my agent. I took the gamble of signing with him.
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: I was he had like one NFL guy from a
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: sixth round, but to jump start him, I was able
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: to negotiate a lower percentage and take that gamble to
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: be able to, you know, feel like I can even
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: if he's not any good, I can recoup on the
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: back end the percentage points for what I didn't get
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: from having a better and it all turned out to
- 1:46:55Speaker 1: be great. I stayed with in my whole fifteen year career.
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: Might be how Lo Wayne is rolling because we've known
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: he's had this sports agency and the guys whoever else
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: is behind.
- 1:47:07Speaker 5: And behind yeah, because it's really him handling.
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: But I don't know if they've had a player of
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: this caliber.
- 1:47:15Speaker 5: The lawyer is Dan.
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: I was trying to look up the law and his
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: partner in this. Do you know any faces, any names?
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: I don't this high profile, I don't. And I didn't
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: even know Lowayne had his sports agency. I knew that
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: there was Rock Nation, which was the one that a
- 1:47:32Speaker 1: lot of people were going to, but I never knew
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: he had a young money sports agen. This guy around
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: maybe half handful of years, twenty seventeen and it's under
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: the leadership of eighty one Gantar. He's a specialized in
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: NBA in NFL and he's been with Wayne since the
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: beginning of this. Now, as far as some of the
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: name players that they've had, they I don't see any.
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: Isaiah Bolden is the be his name. I've seen him
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: play the Jackson State when That's what I'm saying is
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: a lot of times in these situations you'd be like, well,
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: why is Travis drawn to that? Because I'm gonna make
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: you the face, which means I'm gonna totally be all
- 1:48:10Speaker 1: the whole company.
- 1:48:11Speaker 17: This is Travis's agency basically, and the young man that
- 1:48:15Speaker 17: is his partner, his grandfather is and we'll be back
- 1:48:18Speaker 17: more than sports shots Show.
- 1:48:19Speaker 7: Right after this, John't Bowl Wayne Born of The Sports

- 1:51:08Speaker 5: Now it's time for the school board when we put

- 1:51:12Speaker 23: On light and sports and how they intermingle on the
- 1:51:17Speaker 23: Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: What makes this what Shock Show? I'm this what Shock?
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: Wayne Candy? Funny. I just clicked onto a story where
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: the great Rod Woodson says that Travis Hunter should play
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: corner back. So very interesting to see how that has
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: handled this year in twenty twenty five with the draft.
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: Was Travis Hunter a receiver playing corner or was he
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: a corner playing receiver? Interesting because it's about a mentality now,
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: one is to make people miss and one is to tackle.
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: So how has these three years in college illuminated his
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: mind of how he wants to participate on a football field. Remember,
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: I'll go out there and tell you ninety eight percent
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: of people that's ever made pro football used to play
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: another position as well. Typically the only guys that might
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: have just been in one position, or some of your quarterbacks,
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: where someone like a Peyton Manning would tell you he
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: only ever played quarterback. But typically old lineman was a
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: D lineman, a running back was a linebacker, a receiver
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: was a safety, or you know. That's usually because in
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: high school you're going to put your best two or
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: three five athletes on the field every chance you can,
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: so be interesting to see how his mind. But your
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: mind has have become a certain part, even if you're
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: doing a little bit of the other. Thing I tell
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: people all the time, when you switch O line and
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: D lineman, you have the first thing you have to
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: do and you go from the O line to the
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: D line is forget to listen to the snap count
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: or you jump off sides because as an O lineman
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: you used to ready set mean something to you. But
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: on D line you're not supposed to even listen. All
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: you're supposed to do is look at the ball. So
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: you in that quick little moment of switch, you gotta
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: remember don't listen to him back there because you're not
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: on offense. Little things like that. I'm just giving you
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: a little bit. You never really those are those things
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: that happen. So we'll see.
- 1:53:41Speaker 28: Uh.
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: And I think it's a lot about what the teams
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: of do the Patriots, As I said, if they took
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: him with the first pick, where would they really want him?
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: Because it's more of that now than the open format.
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: Dion was gonna get the best of him, and he did,
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: and it took him to a heisman. The pro team
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: is gonna how to shape him into one thing or another.
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: Out in California, Lima restaurant saw the story. Uh, it's
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: the new year. This was kind of my ocean, right,
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: But since it's we're gonna end the year, I'm gonna
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: try to be positive.
- 1:54:15Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: You know in the year negative?
- 1:54:18Speaker 5: Do you this is a tasso?
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: You want to shake hands, you slap somebody is a Tosso.
- 1:54:24Speaker 5: It depends on where we're at on the thirty first,
- 1:54:26Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying.
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: I'm saying, if about eleven fifty eight, everything it seemed.
- 1:54:30Speaker 5: Like truth will go with that. But if you got
- 1:54:32Speaker 5: some heat in your spirit in eleft fifty nine. Don't
- 1:54:36Speaker 5: get it off your chest, don't carry it through the
- 1:54:38Speaker 5: rest of.
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: It, and then the new year, then it won't count.
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: It's okay, okay, make it your first act of twenty
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: twenty five, not your last act of twenty twenty four.
- 1:54:48Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: Kind of situation. Lima restaurant has to close at the
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: end of this year because their gender discrimination lawsuit. Basically,
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: the owner says it cost them too much money. The
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: money it took to fight the lawsuit has drained the
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: restaurant and they're gonna have to close. And the lawsuit
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: was over Ladies' night, so one took them to court
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: over the Ladies' night. They were not admitted on Ladies' night,
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: and they I guess in the state of California, it
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: says that you cannot discriminate. Now, even if it's ladies night,
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: you still have to give me whatever what the promo is.
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: So if ladies get in for.
- 1:55:35Speaker 5: Free, that I got to get in for free.
- 1:55:39Speaker 17: But to get well, that's pretty much in a lot
- 1:55:41Speaker 17: of states, you can't like if you promote, I know
- 1:55:44Speaker 17: what being a promoter and being in that business, you
- 1:55:46Speaker 17: can't have a ladies night. It is now they have
- 1:55:49Speaker 17: changed that say ladies can get in free, but then
- 1:55:51Speaker 17: the guys still have to pay.
- 1:55:53Speaker 5: There have been not just in California, but a lot
- 1:55:55Speaker 5: of loss.
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: Somebody need to tell the Hawks every game they got
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: some kind of night, it's a late and then but
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: I'm just saying, you just enforced time and they and
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: then the happy hour thing, you can't offer like you
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: can't offer ladies, uh, free shots for the first fifty
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: ladies and lets you offer everybody in the bar. But
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: I said four ages four and on to get a
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: free cone. You're not four, You're not. How does that work?
- 1:56:23Speaker 17: I don't know, But in this in that industry, it
- 1:56:25Speaker 17: is a all of it's the same industry, the restaurant.
- 1:56:29Speaker 17: But that look, that was the alcohol and the spirit
- 1:56:32Speaker 17: that those things that alcohol says.
- 1:56:34Speaker 5: So was this you said this was a man fouled
- 1:56:38Speaker 5: this lawsuit. That's what I'm thinking it had to be.
- 1:56:41Speaker 5: It was a man dressed as a lady.
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: No, it was just man. It has nothing to do
- 1:56:46Speaker 1: with the transgender.
- 1:56:47Speaker 5: Okay, but that's what it's over correction.
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: You're just having ladies night and the man wanted to
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: come to this club restaurant.
- 1:56:57Speaker 5: That's but he's supposed to pay though. See that's the way.
- 1:56:59Speaker 5: You don't get it, no, you, that's what he lawsuit says,
- 1:57:03Speaker 5: he don't have to do anymore.
- 1:57:04Speaker 17: Right, and that's the purpose of having ladies night to
- 1:57:08Speaker 17: let the ladies in get them there.
- 1:57:10Speaker 5: That's where he understand that. But they wanted that because
- 1:57:17Speaker 5: he was at his golf club that was an exclusive
- 1:57:22Speaker 5: men's golf club. And then the state of California said
- 1:57:25Speaker 5: that's not right. You gotta let anybody who want to
- 1:57:27Speaker 5: get in get in, not based on gender. So he
- 1:57:30Speaker 5: went back with some I'm gonna get my lick back,
- 1:57:34Speaker 5: and that's how this happened.
- 1:57:35Speaker 1: In the same story, it says earlier this year, the
- 1:57:38Speaker 1: Fresno Grizzlies, which are a minor league baseball team that
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: serves for the Single A.
- 1:57:44Speaker 10: UH.
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: They're the Single A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. UH,
- 1:57:49Speaker 1: they were hit with a similar discrimination lawsuit if they
- 1:57:52Speaker 1: allow free admission for women as part of their Ladies' Night.
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: So somebody went down there and base was like, you
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: can't just let the women in free, and it costs them.
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: The Grizzly will sue for five million dollars. I think
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: they shuttled for a half a million dollars to sell
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: us the case because they wouldn't let the man in
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: for free.
- 1:58:17Speaker 5: Yep, I mean you got by the law.
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: It says in California, and I don't know the other
- 1:58:21Speaker 1: states that I guess technically by the law you can't.
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: And and my big question the first thing that popped
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: in my mind. You go a lot of places where
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: they say kids and eat for free, so that's not true.
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: Or I can get the free meal that the kids,
- 1:58:40Speaker 1: we could see them. I don't need to get us
- 1:58:43Speaker 1: a lawyer, get us a lawyer. Hey, look he got it,
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: got it, he got it. Buffet for three dollars. I
- 1:58:51Speaker 1: want a three dollar buffet too.
- 1:58:53Speaker 5: That's why you order kids will Well, I'm saying that
- 1:58:57Speaker 5: I'm gonna sue over that and get me five million
- 1:58:59Speaker 5: dollars or five on a thousand and McDonald's had the
- 1:59:01Speaker 5: adult happy meals.
- 1:59:02Speaker 17: No, but I mean, now just tell them I want
- 1:59:04Speaker 17: the kids happy meal because it's three Donalds cheaper all.
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: I know. Somebody might need to go tell the Atlanta
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: Hawks because every game I go to, it's some kind
- 1:59:13Speaker 1: of night yeah, where they're running a promotion that whatever
- 1:59:18Speaker 1: group gets a free discs or free that. I didn't
- 1:59:21Speaker 1: know I could demand the same thing, the same thing,
- 1:59:24Speaker 1: regardless of the night.
- 1:59:25Speaker 5: Yeah you can, now I know, and we are in
- 1:59:28Speaker 5: the ocean.
- 1:59:32Speaker 1: The truth is he will throw your in the ocean.
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: It's time to wrap things up on the Sports Junction.
- 1:59:39Speaker 5: With Wayne Candy.
- 1:59:55Speaker 1: When you're the size of the ocean, gets the sports shop.
