- 0:13SPEAKER_01: What's up, buddy?
- 0:15SPEAKER_02: Is that is that the theme song?
- 0:17SPEAKER_02: It's a theme song.
- 0:19SPEAKER_02: I mean, we could probably uh you know let like uh one of the one of the bigs, you know, do a little remake of it or something.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: You think maybe um we could get uh like Beyonce to sing it?
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Taylor Spider-Man.
- 0:41SPEAKER_02: I was thinking Taylor.
- 0:43SPEAKER_02: Taylor's better.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: Because like might get us some more uh business.
- 0:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, get us some more business.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: What you doing, baby?
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: What you doing on this day?
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Well, on this day we got I'm getting ready.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: I'm getting ready to sing this song.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Are you ready?
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, what song?
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we'll sing it.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Happy birthday to you.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Happy birthday to you, happy birthday, dear Sadie May.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Happy birthday to you.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: It's Sadie May's birthday.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: All right, happy birthday, Sadie.
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: You know, Sadie uh she liked my paintings, and uh she went online and found a painting of mine, and then she and then her friend liked one, and they both wanted one.
- 1:33SPEAKER_02: I thought that was very cool.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: Yes, you have fans.
- 1:37SPEAKER_02: Because there's not well, there's not many people who like my paintings.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: So when somebody likes them, I'm like, oh, they got good taste.
- 1:43SPEAKER_02: I mean they're good paintings, but like, you know, a lot of times people don't know because they don't have the right um, they just don't like they have the right they don't have a good eye.
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: They don't have the right eye.
- 1:55SPEAKER_02: That's exactly right.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: They don't have an eye for it, for art, real art, you know.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Well, this is what I've been thinking about as I realize my daughter, Sadie May is 23 years old, which blows me, um blows me out of, you know, blows me away, which is is about just thinking about time.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: And have you ever have have I discussed with you my theory about relativity, you know, time being relative.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Have I ever discussed this with you?
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: No, we I haven't heard about this one.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: You should have brought that up on our time episode about time.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm I'm bringing it up now when I uh on the episode of realizing my relativity years old or 23 years old, you know.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: So and this is something I want you to start thinking about because then you'll know why, which is that I know why time seems to well, I don't to me at least, time seems to go faster the older I get.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Is that what how do you feel about that?
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: I I I hear that a lot.
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: I think a lot of people say that.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: I don't notice that myself.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: Time kind of is the thing that I think is sometimes there's not enough time in the day, but I don't think that time is faster because I'm older, but I hear a lot of people say that, so it's a popular opinion.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: So do you do you do you like it's like here's an example.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: It used to the summer when I was a kid, the summer used to feel like it was forever.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: And now the summer is like three cups of coffee, like it just blasts by.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: And I can I can remember as our girls would grow up, I would track time based on I dropped them off for the first day of school, and now I'm picking them up from the last day of school, and that how those the the difference in that time just seems to get shorter and shorter and shorter.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: And so here's my here's how I come to terms with this, or here's how I think that it is it is very feasible the time actually does go faster the older you get.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: And it's become oh, okay, good, good.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: A lot of people want to know that they do, then they're gonna learn right now.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: So when you're in this easy, I'll I'll use easy numbers to explain it.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: When you were 10, okay, one year one year represented 10% of your experienced time.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: So 10% of your whole life was one year.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: Okay, right?
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: Well, if you're a hundred, one year, the same year represents one hundredth.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: One one hundredth of your known time.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Isn't it wouldn't it be one percent?
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 5:04unknown: Yeah.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: Wouldn't you call that one percent?
- 5:06unknown: Sure.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: One sure, one percent of of your experienced time.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: It's a sliver.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: So the same time now is a sliver of your existence rather than it being ten percent.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: So it just makes sense to me that the older you get and the more time you have on this planet, the less time one year is.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: But but I mean that makes sense.
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: I get that.
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: I think that's good, a good point.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: But you a minute still a minute, and a day is still a day, and a week is still a week.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: And a year is still a year.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: Yes, all of those things are true, but it's about it's about your you know, that is it's like Einstein talked about um the theory of relativity, and he always said, Do you did you ever notice that when you're sitting next to your best girl, you know, a minute, an hour feels like a minute, like it just went by so fast.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: But but when you're at the dentist, the same hour feels like it's gone on for a whole day, right?
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: Like it's it's well, yeah, it's well the time certainly does feel different in different times, you know.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: Like I think that that's that's definitely I think that's true of everybody according to what you're doing.
- 6:33SPEAKER_02: Like for me, it's painting.
- 6:35SPEAKER_02: If I'm painting at a time, can three hours can go by really quickly, right?
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: So right.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: But if I yeah, but it's about your yeah, about how you perceive perception, yeah, yeah.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: I mean long story short.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: What's happening?
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: I can't I can't believe my daughter's 23.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: That's that's the the uh point of the story.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: That's the whole point.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Like it just seems like I don't know.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: She grew up so fast, yep.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: All our kids did.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: Well, I think what's happening right now is like people's minds are getting blown.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: All the people listening, their minds are just blowing up, and you know what?
- 7:17SPEAKER_02: Speaking of uh Steve 8, uh or SS88 or whatever you call it, uh, little short short chats with guys.
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: Um uh speaking of that, um, I had something to say.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah, mid-thought, it lost me.
- 7:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that it's uh yeah, mid-thought.
- 7:38SPEAKER_02: I was trying to come up with a name so quick.
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: I got some alternate names that I forgot what I was gonna say.
- 7:42SPEAKER_02: But I think uh people's minds are blown by the by the by the things that you're sharing.
- 7:48SPEAKER_02: I think everybody's out there.
- 7:50SPEAKER_02: Oh, our podcast or the planning podcast, it's timeless.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: So if you listen to this in a year or in two years, it's it's still timeless.
