2 Peter 2:18-3:9 - The Deception and Danger of False Teachers
In fulfilling his commandment from the Lord, to strengthen his brothers, Peter continues his sharp description of false teachers. The false teachers are themselves deceived and are again entangled in the bondage they once escaped. They convince unstable souls to join them in their immoral lifestyle. The latter end is worse for those who have known the truth and turn from it. In chapter 3, Peter speaks of the false teachers as scoffers who mock the return of Jesus Christ and the Day of Judgement.
