- 0:00Speaker 1: Time out for back to the basics and health care
- 0:02Speaker 1: with Balanced Life Chiropractic. We have doctor Harley joining us.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Hey doing doctor Harley.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey John, I'm doing fantastic capy October.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I know we're like cruising right through and next thing,
- 0:11Speaker 1: you know, it'll be Thanksgiving and then it'll be Christmas
- 0:13Speaker 1: and I'm not ready. So today we're going to kind
- 0:16Speaker 1: of talk about chiropractic in general, because this is something
- 0:19Speaker 1: that you know, people have been doing for a bit now,
- 0:22Speaker 1: but there's still some folks out there that are going
- 0:23Speaker 1: I'm not really sure what that is. So if you
- 0:25Speaker 1: were going to explain to somebody what chiropractic is, how
- 0:27Speaker 1: would you explain it?
- 0:29Speaker 2: And October is National Chiropractic Month as well, so this
- 0:33Speaker 2: month I figured it'd be a good time to talk
- 0:34Speaker 2: just about chiropractic in general. Maybe you're someone listening that
- 0:38Speaker 2: you've considered going to a chiropractor but you've heard all
- 0:40Speaker 2: these horror stories and you're scared to go, or you've
- 0:43Speaker 2: been to a few, maybe they weren't exactly what you
- 0:45Speaker 2: were looking for. Again, like keep listening. There's so many
- 0:49Speaker 2: different things about chiropractic. I always say it's kind of
- 0:51Speaker 2: shoe shopping trying to find the right chiropractic because there's
- 0:53Speaker 2: so many different techniques out there, so many different styles.
- 0:56Speaker 2: It's going to find a doctor that works well with
- 0:58Speaker 2: what you want.
- 0:59Speaker 1: And let's talk about some of the different styles, because
- 1:02Speaker 1: I've heard of like Palmer chiropractic and I've heard of
- 1:05Speaker 1: other there's different ones, but that makes a difference even
- 1:07Speaker 1: just which style of chiropract.
- 1:09Speaker 2: So if you've heard about Palmer, it's because Palmer is
- 1:12Speaker 2: Palmer College of Chiropractic is actually the foundation of chiropractic.
- 1:15Speaker 2: That's where doctor DEDE. Palmer delivered the first chiropractic adjustment
- 1:19Speaker 2: in eighteen ninety five, so some trivia for you. And
- 1:22Speaker 2: then his son founded the Chiropractical School of Palmer College
- 1:25Speaker 2: of Chiropractic. That was you when the school started in
- 1:28Speaker 2: eighteen ninety seven, but his son took it to create
- 1:31Speaker 2: it what is today. So if you've heard someone talk
- 1:33Speaker 2: about Palmer, it's because that's like the fountain Head, that's
- 1:35Speaker 2: where it all started. I mean, I'm opinionated that some
- 1:38Speaker 2: of the best chiropractics came from here because that's where
- 1:40Speaker 2: I went to chiropractical.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Well, then we know it's true, right, if that's where
- 1:43Speaker 1: you came from.
- 1:44Speaker 2: But some other ones you might have heard of is
- 1:46Speaker 2: Northwestern Health Sciences. That's one up in Minneapolis. That's a
- 1:50Speaker 2: lot of the chiropractors are round South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa.
- 1:53Speaker 1: They're all a bunch of hacks. I'm just kidding.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I thought, no, it's different, different ways of going up things,
- 2:00Speaker 2: different ideologies. So you know, they do a great job.
- 2:03Speaker 2: They're great doctors as well. But that's gonna be more
- 2:05Speaker 2: of the common ones in this area, just because Minneapolis
- 2:07Speaker 2: is so close. Another one would be Cleveland College bout
- 2:10Speaker 2: down in Kansas City. Not as common around here for chiropractice.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I'm sure there's a few sprinkled in and out. But
- 2:16Speaker 2: regardless where your chiropractor went to school, they got a
- 2:19Speaker 2: great education. It's just you know how each person uses it,
- 2:22Speaker 2: and you know their personalities that kind of stuff. But
- 2:24Speaker 2: at the end of the day, chiropractic is all about
- 2:26Speaker 2: trying to help your body heal and heal itself. Yeah,
- 2:30Speaker 2: because it's designed to do that, and sometimes it gets stuck,
- 2:32Speaker 2: it gets thrown out a whack from all sorts of
- 2:35Speaker 2: different things, life, work, family.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Stress, getting old, and overdoing it. Why am I pointing
- 2:41Speaker 1: at me for that one?
- 2:43Speaker 2: You know, old age can definitely make you aware of
- 2:45Speaker 2: all of those old hurts and aches and pains that
- 2:48Speaker 2: you weren't paying attention to when you were younger. And
- 2:50Speaker 2: now as you've lived a life, your body's like, hey,
- 2:52Speaker 2: remember that time you did that? Well it hurts now
- 2:55Speaker 2: absolutely and a thing so even you know, if you're
- 2:57Speaker 2: living in your happy golden years, chiropractic can help you
- 3:00Speaker 2: as well.
- 3:01Speaker 1: And the thing that's nice is this is something that
- 3:04Speaker 1: it's not something that oh I had to start when
- 3:06Speaker 1: I was twenty for this to make sense. You can
- 3:08Speaker 1: start whenever. So today would be a good day to start.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Would have been better to start like a year ago
- 3:13Speaker 1: or two years ago, but if you didn't, you can
- 3:15Speaker 1: still start today and get back on track. Right.
- 3:17Speaker 2: It's just like working out, like you can start at
- 3:19Speaker 2: any point. Obviously babies aren't going to the gym or
- 3:21Speaker 2: anything like that. But so as one of those things,
- 3:24Speaker 2: you know, if you're thinking about today, start doing it now.
- 3:26Speaker 2: You'll thank yourself in a year from now you'll think
- 3:28Speaker 2: of your current aches and pains and health problems going
- 3:31Speaker 2: to see a chiropractor if they could help relieve some
- 3:34Speaker 2: of that or get rid of it and you're doing
- 3:36Speaker 2: much better. Think of how much more you'll be able
- 3:38Speaker 2: to enjoy your day to day or enjoy life to
- 3:41Speaker 2: the fullest when you're not doing with all your aches
- 3:43Speaker 2: and pains and health problems.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Absolutely. Now, if somebody has any chiropractic questions and they'd
- 3:48Speaker 1: like to reach out, what's the best way to connect
- 3:50Speaker 1: with you for that?
- 3:51Speaker 2: They can give us a call at six year O
- 3:53Speaker 2: five two one five one seven eighty five or shoot
- 3:55Speaker 2: us a message on our Facebook page at Balanced Life Chiropractic.
- 3:59Speaker 2: We'd love to chat you know how chiropractic can help
- 4:01Speaker 2: you and your family with your health concerns. And keep
- 4:03Speaker 2: listening because the rest of the months we are we're
- 4:04Speaker 2: talking more about how chiropractic can help with various things.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Very nice and just making sure that everybody knows I
- 4:10Speaker 1: was kidding earlier about the hacks thing. I don't want
- 4:13Speaker 1: to get the emails, but if you would like to email,
- 4:15Speaker 1: or if you'd like to reach out to Balance Life Chiropractic,
- 4:18Speaker 1: you can do that right through their website as well.
