- 0:05Speaker 1: From a championship backfield to your morning drive.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Hands to Hester, and Hester.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Yep, got it, five out of five.
- 0:11Speaker 1: You're locked in to Off the Bench.
- 0:13Speaker 4: Flynn is back to throw for the.
- 0:15Speaker 5: End zone.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Ball.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Live from the Raising Cane Studio, here's Jacob Hester and
- 0:23Speaker 1: Matt Flynn.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Off the Bench.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Yo! Yo!
- 0:35Speaker 6: Yo!
- 0:38Speaker 2: Welcome in!
- 0:39Speaker 7: OTB here on this Wednesday morning.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Our Wednesday show is brought to you by our friends
- 0:45Speaker 2: over at Poncho.
- 0:46Speaker 4: Poncho.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Look at these new boards. Dang, dude. Are you kidding
- 0:51Speaker 2: me right now?
- 0:52Speaker 6: I wonder who that is.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Who is that guy?
- 0:54Speaker 8: If you're below the age of 18, earmuffs real quick.
- 0:58Speaker 2: But my God, sex right there.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Something tells me that model has thick ankles.
- 1:05Speaker 2: The thickest. Yeah, right, bro. T-H-I-C-C with two C's.
- 1:11Speaker 6: That pretty hot and tempting.
- 1:13Speaker 8: Yeah, pretty hot and tempting. My goodness.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Well, that was fun this morning.
- 1:18Speaker 6: What is going on out there?
- 1:19Speaker 2: It wasn't at all. It felt like there was a
- 1:23Speaker 2: hurricane and we had to evacuate.
- 1:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:26Speaker 7: Where were people evacuated? Where were y'all coming from? Where
- 1:30Speaker 7: are you going to?
- 1:31Speaker 6: I don't get what's happening.
- 1:33Speaker 7: I just pulled like 17 illegal moves. Thank you, Taylor,
- 1:38Speaker 7: to get here. All of us are coming in different directions.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Took us forever to get here.
- 1:44Speaker 4: It was a lot of fun.
- 1:46Speaker 7: I apologize to the cars on Nicholson and Lee, what
- 1:50Speaker 7: they had to see me do.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Okay. We had to do some things.
- 1:53Speaker 8: Okay, so I'm looking at the... traffic report on Twitter
- 1:58Speaker 8: right now.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Avoid I-10. Yeah. Got it.
- 2:03Speaker 8: An overturned 18-wheeler causing severe backup along Interstate 10 in
- 2:07Speaker 8: Baton Rouge on Wednesday morning. All westbound lanes and two
- 2:10Speaker 8: eastbound lanes are closed at Dow Rumpel.
- 2:13Speaker 2: But I also think it's closed right here by government.
- 2:15Speaker 3: It is.
- 2:15Speaker 2: It's closed both ways.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:17Speaker 7: Closed both directions. You can't go on Oklahoma Street either.
- 2:22Speaker 7: That kind of cuts across Nicholson. It's a way to
- 2:25Speaker 7: get around to the interstate. Look at that. Honestly, I
- 2:28Speaker 7: hope everybody is safe out there. I know it's a
- 2:30Speaker 7: traffic accident of all.
- 2:32Speaker 8: We hate to yell and pump the fist when there
- 2:35Speaker 8: is a real accident and could be injuries.
- 2:38Speaker 2: I don't know what it is, but I hope everyone's safe.
- 2:41Speaker 8: But it certainly doesn't minimize the frustration of being in
- 2:44Speaker 8: your car, for sure.
- 2:46Speaker 6: You know what will tell me? Facebook.
- 2:48Speaker 9: I feel like Facebook always has the hot dogs.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Check that out.
- 2:54Speaker 6: Dang.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Oh, man. You know.
- 3:00Speaker 6: That's crazy.
- 3:01Speaker 2: But I took Highland all the way down. Just after
- 3:05Speaker 2: y'all texted.
- 3:06Speaker 4: Thanks for the heads up. I, like, ran a van
- 3:10Speaker 4: of children off the road trying to get off at
- 3:11Speaker 4: College Drive. I was like, I ain't sitting in this.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Ain't happening. I think they call those school buses. No, vans.
- 3:18Speaker 4: It was a mom. It was a private family. It
- 3:21Speaker 4: was a more intimate setup.
- 3:22Speaker 7: That could have been me back in Pearl when we
- 3:25Speaker 7: had the 15 passenger van.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Now when you get off in college, I'm in the
- 3:30Speaker 4: right lane. I'm like, okay, I'm going to turn. They
- 3:32Speaker 4: have that little block that doesn't allow you to get over. Oh,
- 3:36Speaker 4: we drove over that.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, clearly.
- 3:38Speaker 4: A lot of people doing that today. Well, then I
- 3:41Speaker 4: saw a cop behind me. I was like, oh, am
- 3:42Speaker 4: I going to do it? It said Eberville Parish on
- 3:44Speaker 4: the side. I was like, we're going over this block.
- 3:46Speaker 4: You ain't worried about that.
- 3:47Speaker 2: You got nothing on me today.
- 3:48Speaker 4: It was a fun morning, for sure.
- 3:50Speaker 2: There's a lot of mediums being driven over today, for sure.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I got on Highland.
- 3:54Speaker 8: Highland was actually pretty, it was okay. I don't want
- 3:57Speaker 8: to give anybody secrets out there. If you're on Highland,
- 3:59Speaker 8: that's like your way to get somewhere. But it was okay,
- 4:02Speaker 8: except I got a little road rage. Got behind one
- 4:04Speaker 8: fella going like 17 miles an hour on Highland with
- 4:07Speaker 8: nobody in front of him.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:08Speaker 8: I gave him a little, you know what I'm saying?
- 4:11Speaker 2: The brights?
- 4:12Speaker 6: You flashed the brights at him?
- 4:13Speaker 2: I flashed the brights at him. He didn't love it.
- 4:14Speaker 8: I mean, he bright checked you? He started mean mugging
- 4:17Speaker 8: me in his side mirror.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Like, what are you doing? I'm like, I don't know.
- 4:21Speaker 6: I will flash my brights at somebody.
- 4:24Speaker 4: That's like, I'm going to show him. Flicked them flashers on.
- 4:27Speaker 8: I feel like when it's dark, hit a little flash
- 4:32Speaker 8: at him. I think it's a little bit more aggressive
- 4:35Speaker 8: than a toot. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:38Speaker 7: Because I'll do it repeatedly.
- 4:40Speaker 2: We don't have time to putt around. It's like, if
- 4:42Speaker 2: you were going 25 yards, Fine. It's well under the
- 4:45Speaker 2: speed limit.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:46Speaker 2: But, like, 18? That's aggressive.
- 4:47Speaker 4: We flash the.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Nobody likes 18. We do.
- 4:50Speaker 4: We do a bright flash on the interstate three days
- 4:52Speaker 4: a week.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Oh, yeah? Oh, yeah. This guy didn't like it. I
- 4:55Speaker 2: don't think anybody does.
- 4:58Speaker 6: I mean, but, like.
- 4:59Speaker 2: But guess what? He sped up.
- 5:01Speaker 6: Put the pedal to the metal.
- 5:02Speaker 2: He sped up. 706, but Ludacris had a song about that. Mm.
- 5:06Speaker 2: You know?
- 5:08Speaker 1: Moo.
- 5:09Speaker 2: 706. Can't tell you.
- 5:10Speaker 6: Earmuffs.
- 5:11Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Get out the way. Yeah, get out the way. Get
- 5:16Speaker 2: out the way. I drove through campus, though. It's the
- 5:19Speaker 2: first time in a while. It was dark.
- 5:22Speaker 7: At campus before 630, very easy to navigate through.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Yep.
- 5:29Speaker 8: So I will say, if you're out in the car
- 5:31Speaker 8: today and you don't have to leave your bubble, just don't.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Don't go exploring today. Wait like two days.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Just to be safe.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's going to be a while. It was fun.
- 5:42Speaker 4: I got to take a super secret back way. I
- 5:45Speaker 4: always like to do that because I like to know
- 5:47Speaker 4: different ways to get out of situations, right? Hadn't taken
- 5:50Speaker 4: this way in a while. Still a little reliable. Not
- 5:52Speaker 4: going to say what it is because I don't want
- 5:53Speaker 4: anybody else taking it, but it was nice.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:57Speaker 8: Traffic is kind of like, you know, when I get
- 5:59Speaker 8: the old ratchet straps out or some bungees or something
- 6:02Speaker 8: and lock something down to the bed of my truck,
- 6:05Speaker 8: traffic ain't going nowhere.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Nowhere today.
- 6:08Speaker 8: And it's going to be It's going to be a
- 6:10Speaker 8: day in Baton Rouge today, so lock in, people.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Work from home. I think Government Street. I know. What?
- 6:19Speaker 2: Government Street, it will get like that every once in
- 6:22Speaker 2: a while. It'll be like that? Like when there's something
- 6:24Speaker 2: on the interstate.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Well, because a lot of them got to get back
- 6:26Speaker 4: to the bridge.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:27Speaker 4: So they're going down and get going.
- 6:30Speaker 2: And Government Street's not made for that. No.
- 6:33Speaker 6: Government Street is not made for really anything.
- 6:35Speaker 2: No. The old girl's not ready for that.
- 6:37Speaker 9: And somebody told me People have told me that it
- 6:39Speaker 9: used to be two lanes, and then they made it
- 6:42Speaker 9: so it could be walkable.
- 6:43Speaker 6: They put that thing in the middle.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Is that true?
- 6:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I think so.
- 6:46Speaker 6: Like, it used to be two lanes on each side?
- 6:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember when they were building it. There's one
- 6:49Speaker 4: thing I want to do.
- 6:50Speaker 6: It's walk government.
- 6:50Speaker 9: It really frustrates me that it's not anymore, because there
- 6:54Speaker 9: will be people going below the speed limit, like you
- 6:56Speaker 9: just mentioned.
- 6:57Speaker 6: And I can't get out of it. They can't.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I can't, like... You know?
- 7:03Speaker 7: You know?
- 7:05Speaker 2: Oh, I know. Anyways.
- 7:08Speaker 7: See, look, my whole plan today was we'll start the
- 7:10Speaker 7: LSU versus SEC stuff in the second segment. First segment,
- 7:14Speaker 7: I was like, we're not here to, you know, right
- 7:17Speaker 7: off the top get into it, trying to make you happy.
- 7:20Speaker 2: You're going to work. You're going to school. You're probably
- 7:22Speaker 2: not the happiest. Sure.
- 7:23Speaker 7: Trying to put a smile on your face before you
- 7:25Speaker 7: got to walk into the building. Old Baton Rouge traffic
- 7:30Speaker 7: gets the best of us.
- 7:31Speaker 4: This would make me happy just because I'm like, hey,
- 7:34Speaker 4: other people had to go through this too.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Wow, that's up. That is a weird view on life, Taylor.
- 7:39Speaker 4: Look, you guys know I love my energy drink.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Spilled my monster.
- 7:44Speaker 4: All in my center console. Because I'm turning and a
- 7:48Speaker 4: dude's like, crap, I got to get over. Cuts in
- 7:50Speaker 4: front of me. I had to hit the brakes. Drink
- 7:52Speaker 4: tipped over. It was not a good morning.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Why was it not in the cup holder? Why was
- 7:58Speaker 2: it what? Why was it not in the cup holder? No,
- 8:00Speaker 2: it was.
- 8:00Speaker 4: So my truck's got these, the one I just got
- 8:03Speaker 4: has these really wide cup holders. So a lot of
- 8:05Speaker 4: the cans still like, Clank in there. There's probably a
- 8:09Speaker 4: way to fix it. I don't have.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Anyways. We got NFL tonight. That's exciting.
- 8:21Speaker 7: I'll put a smile on people's face before we get
- 8:23Speaker 7: to the serious stuff.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Patriots Seahawks. That's awesome. In Seattle. It's going to be better.
- 8:29Speaker 2: It's going to be great. I think Seattle's still a favorite.
- 8:35Speaker 4: Yeah, that's my favorite.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Yeah, two and a half. They're playing in Seattle. The
- 8:42Speaker 2: Seahawks just kind of ran their roster back. I mean,
- 8:44Speaker 2: they drafted, obviously. Lost a couple. They lose Kenneth Walker,
- 8:47Speaker 2: but they drafted a running back in the first round.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Jadarian Price is going to be exciting. He's probably the
- 8:52Speaker 4: guy I'm most excited to watch. Him and then how A.J.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Brown does on the Patriots. That's the two. I'll be
- 8:58Speaker 4: excited to see this season. Were the Patriots fluky a
- 9:02Speaker 4: little bit last year?
- 9:03Speaker 8: I know it's hard to be a fluke on a
- 9:06Speaker 8: 17-game season in the National Football League. But you watch them,
- 9:11Speaker 8: and nothing they do is super.
- 9:15Speaker 2: It doesn't seem like the best.
- 9:18Speaker 8: They don't feel dominant, but they just kept winning games.
- 9:20Speaker 8: They're good at everything, though. They're just kind of good
- 9:22Speaker 8: at everything. Josh McDaniels is one of the best play
- 9:24Speaker 8: callers to ever do it. At least he is in
- 9:26Speaker 8: New England. He's not a good head coach, and I
- 9:29Speaker 8: think he knows his role. He understands that. He gives
- 9:32Speaker 8: it a good old college try at head coach, but realizes, man,
- 9:37Speaker 8: there's a place for him. And I was in that
- 9:40Speaker 8: room with him for a hot minute.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Not long. So small sample size I got to pull
- 9:45Speaker 2: from here.
- 9:48Speaker 9: Their schedule was pretty favorable looking back at it now.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Well, they had a last place schedule.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Now they're going to have a first place schedule.
- 9:57Speaker 3: So.
- 9:59Speaker 2: We'll see, Matt.
- 10:01Speaker 4: What do we consider fluky? Like single digit wins or.
- 10:04Speaker 8: Well, your quarterback, second year quarterback was in MVP talks.
- 10:08Speaker 8: Like you had, what was their, what was their record
- 10:10Speaker 8: by the end of the year? You make it to
- 10:11Speaker 8: the Super Bowl.
- 10:12Speaker 2: 14.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Was it 14 and three?
- 10:13Speaker 2: I would say that. Something like that. I mean, that's
- 10:15Speaker 2: a dominant record.
- 10:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:17Speaker 8: And they make it to the Super Bowl. With a
- 10:19Speaker 8: second-year quarterback. That's really hard to do, and it was seemingly.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Out of nowhere. I think it was 14-3.
- 10:27Speaker 8: So I'll be interested to see if they can even
- 10:32Speaker 8: get to replicate that.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Who the hell am I thinking of?
- 10:34Speaker 2: I don't know. Someone really good.
- 10:36Speaker 6: I think they finished the regular season 10-7.
- 10:38Speaker 4: I'm thinking of the Broncos.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Sorry, guys.
- 10:42Speaker 8: I can't do any research right now because I'm too
- 10:44Speaker 8: locked in. Because I don't know if Jake– Jake wasn't
- 10:48Speaker 8: here when I said it.
- 10:49Speaker 2: No, 14-3. They're ponchos? Yeah, they're 14-3. They were 14-3.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 10:54Speaker 7: But that, us saying, no, no, no, it's not 14-3.
- 11:00Speaker 7: That is a feeling that a lot of people, that's
- 11:01Speaker 7: what Matt's talking about. That's the kind of point I'm
- 11:03Speaker 7: trying to make.
- 11:03Speaker 8: It's like, man, when you look back at their season,
- 11:05Speaker 8: it's like, man, that was a dominant football season that
- 11:07Speaker 8: they had.
- 11:08Speaker 6: I think that was a good thing.
- 11:08Speaker 2: But how?
- 11:09Speaker 8: I didn't watch a game where I was like, man,
- 11:11Speaker 8: this team is dominant. So I'll be very excited to see.
- 11:16Speaker 8: if they can replicate that. I mean, it's kind of
- 11:18Speaker 8: like the Chiefs for a long time. Like, they win
- 11:21Speaker 8: one-score games. Every one-score game. Every one-score game possible. And
- 11:24Speaker 8: then this past year, it just kind of flipped. It
- 11:26Speaker 8: flipped on its head. Can they get that back? Can
- 11:29Speaker 8: New England be dominant? Because I look at this, and
- 11:31Speaker 8: I just haven't compared rosters.
- 11:34Speaker 2: I haven't done anything.
- 11:35Speaker 8: I'm looking at this game, and I'm like, man, Seattle,
- 11:36Speaker 8: in Seattle, opening night, Super Bowl champs. I know all
- 11:39Speaker 8: the sexy stuff on their team.
- 11:41Speaker 2: I know.
- 11:41Speaker 8: I've watched them play. I watched them go toe-to-toe and
- 11:44Speaker 8: beat the Rams last year. And then, like, I think,
- 11:48Speaker 8: I don't know what the line is, but I'm going
- 11:50Speaker 8: to take Seattle. Just based on that alone, I don't
- 11:53Speaker 8: know if they can replicate it. I think the ghost
- 11:55Speaker 8: of Rossini might be pretty heavy.
- 11:59Speaker 4: The ghost of Rossini. She's still with us.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Oh, no, no, no. Not with ESPN. She wasn't with
- 12:05Speaker 2: ESPN either. Wherever she was. Where was she? On the boat. Athletic? Yeah.
- 12:13Speaker 2: On the boat. She was on a boat. She was
- 12:15Speaker 2: on the boat. She do be loving boats. Prego Boats.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I will say, A.J.
- 12:21Speaker 7: Brown, to Taylor, to your point, I am excited about that. But,
- 12:26Speaker 7: Stephon Diggs had more receiving yards than A.J.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Brown did last year.
- 12:29Speaker 7: Now, 15 games to 17 games, but Diggs actually had more.
- 12:32Speaker 7: So it's not like they didn't have a guy. Like,
- 12:34Speaker 7: Stephon Diggs, for some reason, was kind of underappreciated there.
- 12:37Speaker 7: He did exactly what they needed.
- 12:40Speaker 3: A.J.
- 12:40Speaker 7: Brown's got a quarterback that's different than Jalen Hurts, so
- 12:42Speaker 7: we'll see what happens there.
- 12:44Speaker 2: But, I mean, Diggs was pretty good last year.
- 12:46Speaker 4: Yeah, he was. I'm more interested in, like, Can A.J.
- 12:49Speaker 4: kind of pick it back up? Because, like, the talent's
- 12:51Speaker 4: still there, and him and Jalen Hurts didn't get along. Like,
- 12:54Speaker 4: that came out two weeks ago. So I'm more interested
- 12:56Speaker 4: to see what he can do.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Well, Jacob, what did you think? You were at training camp.
- 12:59Speaker 2: You saw him live in person.
- 13:01Speaker 8: You saw the Patriots practice.
- 13:04Speaker 7: We saw him, like, day three, day four of training camp,
- 13:07Speaker 7: and he was still trying to figure out his new team. Like,
- 13:10Speaker 7: they'd blow the whistle, and everybody would start, like, going
- 13:12Speaker 7: to a drill, and he'd be, like, looking around, like,
- 13:13Speaker 7: hold up. Where am I supposed to go here? So
- 13:17Speaker 7: he didn't have his footing yet. And he was going
- 13:19Speaker 7: against Christian Gonzalez. I told you all that. And he just,
- 13:22Speaker 7: you know, Christian Gonzalez won the best top three guys,
- 13:25Speaker 7: I think, in the league. Like, I think he's that good.
- 13:27Speaker 7: So you're trying to figure some new stuff out. You're
- 13:29Speaker 7: going against a guy like that. Now, when he had
- 13:31Speaker 7: the joint practices, remember, like all those videos were coming out,
- 13:34Speaker 7: he was kind of cooking against his old team, the Eagles.
- 13:36Speaker 2: So he's a good player.
- 13:38Speaker 7: We'll see if it's going to be enough for the
- 13:40Speaker 7: Patriots to do what they did, even though they're playing
- 13:42Speaker 7: a much, much more difficult schedule.
- 13:44Speaker 2: And again, the NFL starts tonight. We have actual... Regular
- 13:49Speaker 2: season game tonight.
- 13:50Speaker 7: We've got another one tomorrow with the 49ers and the
- 13:52Speaker 7: Rams from Australia.
- 13:55Speaker 2: All right. We had traffic. Got to ruin the mood
- 14:01Speaker 2: here to open the show.
- 14:02Speaker 7: We got excited about having NFL action, but now we
- 14:06Speaker 7: got to go back to it.
- 14:08Speaker 2: When we come back, LSU versus the SEC. What does
- 14:13Speaker 2: it mean? There's been news even since. Let's get ready
- 14:17Speaker 2: to rumble. Every show ended yesterday. News upon news upon news.
- 14:22Speaker 7: We'll give you our breakdown when we come back here

- 14:45Speaker 7: Nobody wants that. So make sure you put your trash out.
- 14:49Speaker 7: So that's a service that nobody else is going to
- 14:51Speaker 7: be able to offer you. And look, you know, you
- 14:53Speaker 7: had a holiday weekend. Let's just say a holiday, though,
- 14:57Speaker 7: falls on a trash pickup day. And you're like, oh, well,
- 14:59Speaker 7: I guess I got to wait till next week. Not
- 15:01Speaker 7: the case with Trash Rangers. They'll actually pick up on
- 15:04Speaker 7: the weekend if it falls on a holiday. They don't
- 15:07Speaker 7: just skip you over until the next week, and you've
- 15:09Speaker 7: got trash piling up. You don't get that service, I
- 15:12Speaker 7: can promise you, from anybody else, but you always get
- 15:14Speaker 7: it from Trash Rangers.
- 15:16Speaker 2: That's right.
- 15:16Speaker 8: Go to Trash Rangers, TrashRangers.com, the most reliable trash removal
- 15:20Speaker 8: service in all of Louisiana, and also the Trash Rangers
- 15:22Speaker 8: Sanitation Department. They've got the portable toilets, so if you
- 15:24Speaker 8: have a construction company, if you have a job outside,
- 15:26Speaker 8: if you have an event outside, give them a call
- 15:28Speaker 8: for those portable toilets.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Right over there, TrashRangers.com.
- 15:49Speaker 5: Welcome back to Off The Bench. Wednesday's show is brought
- 15:55Speaker 5: to you by Poncho. All right.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Welcome back in OTV. Yesterday, the 20th anniversary of Future
- 16:33Speaker 2: Sex Love Sounds. Justin Timberlake album. Unk didn't know what
- 16:38Speaker 2: that was. That's Unk. Is that the name of the album? Yeah.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Pretty popular album. A lot of people know the name
- 16:44Speaker 2: of that one. 20 years old there, bud. That's okay, baby. 20.
- 16:50Speaker 6: That means the song Sexy Back is 20 years old.
- 16:52Speaker 2: It's 20 years old. Yeah.
- 16:55Speaker 6: I don't like that.
- 16:56Speaker 2: I hate it. I was a junior in college. Yeah.
- 17:01Speaker 8: I just remember seeing Garrett Weibel walk around the locker
- 17:04Speaker 8: room saying, I've been getting sexy back.
- 17:09Speaker 7: And Garrett was about, at that time, I mean, like,
- 17:14Speaker 7: not traditionally sexy.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I'm dead. Not traditionally sexy. You know, Garrett played offensive line.
- 17:23Speaker 6: I mean, he's not Justin Timberlake.
- 17:25Speaker 7: Garrett's skinny now and DJs around town and looks great.
- 17:30Speaker 2: But at the time, he was an offensive lineman.
- 17:32Speaker 6: He DJs around town.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Shout out to Wobble. Shout out to Wobble.
- 17:36Speaker 9: He's got to be playing sexy back on the set.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Yeah, no doubt.
- 17:40Speaker 6: This is the best song in this.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Album, though.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Ooh, there's so many good ones. Anyways, shout out to JT. Yeah.
- 17:51Speaker 8: Well, everybody kind of knows kind of the gist of
- 17:53Speaker 8: what's happening between.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Greg Wanky and LSU. Did y'all know? This is a
- 18:03Speaker 2: big deal. Did y'all know that?
- 18:06Speaker 6: Wait, what happened?
- 18:07Speaker 8: Later on, I don't know when, what time, he's going
- 18:10Speaker 8: to come on, but Our commander-in-chief, Donald Trump, he's actually
- 18:15Speaker 8: going to address this.
- 18:16Speaker 2: He's going to say something about it?
- 18:17Speaker 4: Honey locked in on the SEC?
- 18:19Speaker 2: He's locked in on the SEC. Big time LSU guy.
- 18:21Speaker 2: I think he's actually going to address this a little
- 18:23Speaker 2: bit later. Wow. So we'll carry that live, obviously.
- 18:27Speaker 6: Sensitive Sankey.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Throwing it to national.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Throwing it to national. So that's coming up later? At
- 18:34Speaker 2: some point. Okay. All right. Video gets massaged. So at
- 18:38Speaker 2: this point, so at this point, We're waiting for it
- 18:42Speaker 2: to download.
- 18:43Speaker 7: We do know what's going on, and we've talked about it,
- 18:46Speaker 7: but certainly yesterday, because that's just how it always is.
- 18:48Speaker 2: 1001 stuff's going to break.
- 18:51Speaker 7: And I know Hunt had a very passionate take, as
- 18:53Speaker 7: passionate as you'll see Hunt Palmer about it, and it
- 18:55Speaker 7: was actually a really good take yesterday. I thought he
- 18:57Speaker 7: handled it as good as anybody yesterday. It is LSU
- 19:01Speaker 7: versus DSCC. And just some bullet points. I think LSU
- 19:08Speaker 7: can own that, no, they did make some mistakes in this.
- 19:11Speaker 7: LSU is not free of all of this. And look,
- 19:13Speaker 7: we're an LSU show. We're LSU people. But also, we
- 19:17Speaker 7: can understand that mistakes were made.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Okay? With how things were handled.
- 19:25Speaker 7: But yesterday, I guess it was later in the night,
- 19:29Speaker 7: I was at a middle school slash JV football game,
- 19:33Speaker 7: so I don't even know what time it was, but
- 19:35Speaker 7: it came out that LSU had filled its roster with
- 19:39Speaker 7: its last two spots.
- 19:41Speaker 2: And Wright and Harris were not the two names that
- 19:44Speaker 2: were added.
- 19:45Speaker 7: It was actually players that were injured that were already
- 19:47Speaker 7: on the team that were added to field the last
- 19:49Speaker 7: two rosters.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Spots. All right.
- 19:52Speaker 7: So it almost like if this continues on, it makes
- 19:55Speaker 7: the SEC's continued escalation look even more over the top
- 20:00Speaker 7: for me. So if the players aren't going to play
- 20:03Speaker 7: for LSU, then what exactly right now are we still
- 20:07Speaker 7: fighting about? And for me, at this point, it feels
- 20:12Speaker 7: like the SEC is more concerned with LSU challenging its
- 20:15Speaker 7: authority than who actually takes the field. It's not any
- 20:21Speaker 7: longer about who takes the field. I think it's about
- 20:24Speaker 7: LSU challenged the SEC's ruling. The SEC said, you can't
- 20:30Speaker 7: do that. It's a privilege for you to be in
- 20:32Speaker 7: our conference. and we are going to threaten to kick
- 20:36Speaker 7: you out of the conference. A charter member of the conference.
- 20:39Speaker 7: Since the 1930s, LSU has been a part of the conference.
- 20:43Speaker 7: And think about all the ish that's happened. We could
- 20:47Speaker 7: go down the line, right? We could go down the
- 20:49Speaker 7: line when it was 12 schools when we were playing,
- 20:51Speaker 7: 14 schools when they added A & M in Missouri,
- 20:55Speaker 7: 16 schools when they add Texas and Oklahoma, and we
- 20:58Speaker 7: could find so many things that each institution has done
- 21:03Speaker 7: And this.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Is the hill that you want to die on.
- 21:06Speaker 7: This one, you're going to threaten to kick LSU out
- 21:09Speaker 7: of the SEC over this. And the fact that all
- 21:16Speaker 7: these presidents are like getting behind commissioners thinking now, like
- 21:21Speaker 7: in like trying to be tough behind him really bothers me.
- 21:26Speaker 2: They're like the hype guy. Hold me back, bro. Exactly.
- 21:29Speaker 7: Saying, hold me back. It's like they were waiting on it.
- 21:32Speaker 7: And they're licking their chops. And they're like, what are
- 21:35Speaker 7: we talking? You're going to kick LSU out of the
- 21:37Speaker 7: conference for something they didn't even go through with.
- 21:40Speaker 2: They never got put on the roster. Because you don't
- 21:42Speaker 2: like Lane. Because you got challenged.
- 21:44Speaker 7: And because Lane, right, wrong, or indifferent, however you feel
- 21:48Speaker 7: about it, poked the bear. And he didn't back down.
- 21:53Speaker 7: And his comments during the halftime speech, apparently that bothered
- 21:56Speaker 7: a lot of people.
- 21:56Speaker 2: His comments after the game, apparently that bothered people.
- 22:00Speaker 7: We can't kick people out of conferences for hurt feelings.
- 22:04Speaker 2: People challenge authority all the time.
- 22:08Speaker 9: Not only did they not put them on the roster,
- 22:10Speaker 9: they added Aiden Anding.
- 22:13Speaker 6: And who's that?
- 22:14Speaker 2: Gabe Relaford.
- 22:14Speaker 6: Gabe Relaford. On the roster. So, like, now... they're not
- 22:18Speaker 6: going to be allowed on it at all, period. So
- 22:21Speaker 6: it's just so stupid. And it's a lot of showboating.
- 22:25Speaker 9: And I don't know, like Greg Sankey, ever since he
- 22:27Speaker 9: started bringing his own microphone to SEC.
- 22:30Speaker 6: Media Days, I'm like, you are something else.
- 22:34Speaker 2: I mean, look. Let it out.
- 22:37Speaker 8: This is a ultra sensor. Like if he was in
- 22:42Speaker 8: an NFL locker room right now, he'd get a sensitivity fine.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Yeah. Right? Oh, sensitive? Yeah.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Sankey.
- 22:49Speaker 8: Greg Skanky came down here and he got butthurt that
- 22:54Speaker 8: Lane's trying to push the envelope, trying to push the rules.
- 22:57Speaker 2: And he lives in this world.
- 22:59Speaker 8: Skanky's sitting here in this world where nobody can enforce anything.
- 23:03Speaker 8: So I kind of feel like this is just like
- 23:05Speaker 8: a power check a little bit. Like, I'm just going
- 23:07Speaker 8: to check you a little bit to see if you'll listen,
- 23:11Speaker 8: see if you'll abide. But this vote is real. Like,
- 23:16Speaker 8: this is... There is a chance, now, albeit a small chance,
- 23:21Speaker 8: the chance that LSU gets dismissed from the SEC. And, yeah,
- 23:26Speaker 8: it might not be very likely, but the chances aren't zero,
- 23:31Speaker 8: which is how we're in this position. And just like
- 23:36Speaker 8: you said, there's a lot of fault in everything. LSU
- 23:38Speaker 8: did some things wrong.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:39Speaker 8: We highlighted it here on this show. Talked about it
- 23:41Speaker 8: at office. You pushed it too far. Like, why did
- 23:44Speaker 8: you do this? Was the juice worth the squeeze?
- 23:46Speaker 2: Blah, blah, blah.
- 23:46Speaker 8: We don't need to rehash any of those conversations because
- 23:49Speaker 8: we're right here now. But this is an ego play
- 23:54Speaker 8: by Greg Sankey. And he's trying to push the power.
- 23:59Speaker 8: And I think he's just really butthurt and mad. And
- 24:02Speaker 8: it's frustrating that the Southeastern Conference, y'all, the best conference
- 24:08Speaker 8: in college football is so petty. that even though, yeah, okay,
- 24:13Speaker 8: Lane pushed the envelope, but then he backed down. He
- 24:15Speaker 8: backed off at the end. It did the thing that
- 24:17Speaker 8: he should have done, probably a little bit faster.
- 24:20Speaker 2: And yeah, I got it.
- 24:21Speaker 8: You got to sit and get cross-examined for three and
- 24:25Speaker 8: a half hours.
- 24:26Speaker 2: I get it. Your butt hurt. Don't be sensitive. Don't
- 24:30Speaker 2: be a little B. And this isn't like, well, they
- 24:35Speaker 2: did it so we can do it too.
- 24:37Speaker 7: Y'all know our stance about guys that were in NFL
- 24:40Speaker 7: camps and coming back.
- 24:41Speaker 2: We've talked about it often. I think once you're a pro,
- 24:43Speaker 2: you're a pro, okay?
- 24:45Speaker 7: But you didn't go after Nate Oates this hard who
- 24:48Speaker 7: played a player, played him for a handful of games.
- 24:54Speaker 7: And you didn't go after them at all. And you
- 24:58Speaker 7: could be like, well, the rules weren't in place like
- 24:59Speaker 7: they are now.
- 25:00Speaker 2: It wasn't as straightforward. Well, why wasn't it?
- 25:02Speaker 7: Like you played a guy in five games in the
- 25:05Speaker 7: same situation that we're talking about.
- 25:07Speaker 2: And again, I'm not like, oh, well, they did it.
- 25:11Speaker 7: If it's done the way it is now, why was
- 25:13Speaker 7: it not done that way during basketball season? And like,
- 25:17Speaker 7: you're not trying to kick Alabama or Nate Oates out
- 25:19Speaker 7: of the conference.
- 25:22Speaker 4: You brought up a good point about de-escalation because they
- 25:26Speaker 4: said that in their little statement yesterday, which was honestly
- 25:29Speaker 4: all over the place talking about, you know, Elaine's comments
- 25:32Speaker 4: at halftime shows a lack of de-escalation. First off, that's
- 25:35Speaker 4: not against the rules. You're, you're, That's where it lost me.
- 25:38Speaker 4: Like you want to enforce your rules.
- 25:39Speaker 5: Fine.
- 25:40Speaker 4: I think there should be more rules in college football,
- 25:42Speaker 4: but you can't punish someone for not breaking rules and
- 25:44Speaker 4: then saying, well, we didn't like your comments. Our feelings
- 25:47Speaker 4: got hurt. So we're going to kick you out. But
- 25:48Speaker 4: also the LSU kind of did deescalate by not adding
- 25:52Speaker 4: them to the roster on Friday when they absolutely could
- 25:54Speaker 4: have under the court order. And then the sec comes
- 25:57Speaker 4: out about this. Like, I think Greg saying he was
- 25:59Speaker 4: embarrassed having to come down here. Like you mentioned, Maggie
- 26:02Speaker 4: cross-examined for three hours, have to admit that he hasn't
- 26:05Speaker 4: read all the bylaws, which is a wild thing that,
- 26:07Speaker 4: actually happened. So he's like, I want to publicly humiliate LSU.
- 26:11Speaker 4: I want them to have to back off. And I
- 26:13Speaker 4: want to show everybody that I won, that they didn't
- 26:16Speaker 4: do this on their own doing.
- 26:17Speaker 3: I won.
- 26:18Speaker 4: It kind of just makes it look like a jackass. Like,
- 26:20Speaker 4: let's just be honest. Like that's, that's kind of where
- 26:22Speaker 4: it is. If you want to do this privately, cool.
- 26:24Speaker 4: But to your point, it's an ego play to come
- 26:26Speaker 4: out and do this in public. I don't think LSU
- 26:28Speaker 4: is going to get voted out now that the players
- 26:30Speaker 4: aren't on the roster. I doubt a vote even takes place,
- 26:32Speaker 4: but I just, I think it's kind of a lot
- 26:34Speaker 4: to do about nothing. Like what was the point of
- 26:36Speaker 4: all this?
- 26:41Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know.
- 26:42Speaker 8: Is there a chance the vote doesn't happen? We're not attorneys,
- 26:47Speaker 8: and we're not.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Going to act like we're attorneys.
- 26:48Speaker 7: I think there's a reason why LSU added the two
- 26:50Speaker 7: players last night. I'm sure they got together. They took
- 26:53Speaker 7: a look at everything. They didn't roster them in week one,
- 26:56Speaker 7: so it was trending in that way. And so they said, okay,
- 26:59Speaker 7: let's try to be the bigger person here, at least
- 27:01Speaker 7: in my opinion. And if you're a fan of another
- 27:03Speaker 7: SEC school watching this, you're probably like Homer.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Well, I'm just saying.
- 27:07Speaker 7: If you roster two other players publicly like they did,
- 27:10Speaker 7: I mean, Pete Thamel had it. Everybody has breaking news
- 27:12Speaker 7: last night. This is you trying to say, okay, well,
- 27:15Speaker 7: we're not going to put those guys on the roster.
- 27:16Speaker 7: We're going to lock it at 105. They're not going
- 27:18Speaker 7: to be on there. Is it enough to not have
- 27:21Speaker 7: a vote?
- 27:21Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 27:23Speaker 7: Again, when there is a national reporter like Dele saying
- 27:27Speaker 7: that the presidents are, and I quote, out for blood,
- 27:30Speaker 7: does that make you think that they're not going to vote?
- 27:33Speaker 2: For what?
- 27:38Speaker 8: It's like he's trying to run the SEC like a
- 27:43Speaker 8: country club, like a social club. It's an honor to
- 27:47Speaker 8: be here. We control the rules. There's a set of rules,
- 27:50Speaker 8: but then there's unspoken rules as well. And if you
- 27:53Speaker 8: don't abide, if you lose some friends in the country club,
- 27:57Speaker 8: we just have the right to kick you out because
- 27:58Speaker 8: we saw something that I like because you wore.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Your hat backwards. And you can enforce it. And you
- 28:04Speaker 2: can enforce that. There's language you can put in there
- 28:06Speaker 2: to make it sound like you can.
- 28:07Speaker 8: Yeah, because it's a social club. It's a country club.
- 28:11Speaker 8: It's an honor to be here. It's like you're privileged
- 28:13Speaker 8: to be here. And you are, and you love being there,
- 28:17Speaker 8: and you want to be there. But then kind of
- 28:21Speaker 8: to that same analogy, if you keep wearing your hat backwards,
- 28:26Speaker 8: then yeah, something could happen.
- 28:27Speaker 2: But if you just turn it the right way, then
- 28:29Speaker 2: just go on about your business.
- 28:31Speaker 6: I got to tell you.
- 28:31Speaker 2: LSU kind of.
- 28:32Speaker 8: Just turned their hat the right way. And they did.
- 28:34Speaker 8: And the right people to the roster.
- 28:37Speaker 2: We're going to clap.
- 28:40Speaker 6: I really want to read this one.
- 28:41Speaker 2: And I normally forget to clap.
- 28:42Speaker 9: Y'all are sounding quite sensitive that the SEC won and
- 28:45Speaker 9: got what they wanted. Also goes to show how far
- 28:48Speaker 9: down the pecking order LSU is not that Texas and
- 28:51Speaker 9: Oklahoma are around.
- 28:53Speaker 6: I think he meant now that Texas.
- 28:54Speaker 2: And Oklahoma are around. Is it Bama Gum?
- 28:56Speaker 6: I don't know who this is.
- 28:56Speaker 2: No, Bama Gum's cooler. Big Big 12 guy. He's a
- 28:59Speaker 2: good dude.
- 29:00Speaker 9: I think the only person that's coming off sensitive here
- 29:03Speaker 9: is Greg Skanky.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Greg Skanky. Greg Wanky.
- 29:06Speaker 7: I don't think it could be sensitive considering we were like,
- 29:08Speaker 7: we don't agree that NFL guys should be on the roster.
- 29:12Speaker 2: We were actually.
- 29:14Speaker 7: The only show that had that opinion.
- 29:19Speaker 4: We all said multiple times in this room, is this
- 29:22Speaker 4: worth it for LSU?
- 29:23Speaker 2: And it wasn't.
- 29:23Speaker 4: They should have backed off sooner.
- 29:25Speaker 2: They realized that.
- 29:25Speaker 4: But also, Greg Skanky is the one that went yesterday
- 29:28Speaker 4: and kicked an anthill that It was done.
- 29:30Speaker 6: It was already over. Like lane literally didn't put the
- 29:33Speaker 6: players on the roster. That's what you wanted to happen, right?
- 29:37Speaker 9: Like, that's why you went to court, because you didn't
- 29:42Speaker 9: want these players.
- 29:43Speaker 6: On the roster. Guess what? They are not on the roster.
- 29:46Speaker 9: So let's just all move on, and let's play football,
- 29:49Speaker 9: and let's just, I don't know. But I also, Greg
- 29:52Speaker 9: Sankey's actually in our chat right now, and he said.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Are you serious?
- 29:55Speaker 6: Yeah, he said, it's just a prank, guys. Calm down.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Sensitive Sankey, he's in.
- 29:59Speaker 4: You did say thanks for reading my text. Alondra got
- 30:02Speaker 4: a shout-out from Greg.
- 30:04Speaker 7: I think it would be a sensitivity find for us
- 30:07Speaker 7: if we were like, well, they should be able to play.
- 30:10Speaker 2: He played there. Texas has one on their right.
- 30:13Speaker 8: I'm not like that. Remember that basketball player? That basketball
- 30:16Speaker 8: player is the dumbest argument ever.
- 30:18Speaker 2: It's basketball. No one cares. Don't mess with football.
- 30:21Speaker 4: I think he was saying, if you play these guys,
- 30:22Speaker 4: you will be punished. Okay, we won't play them.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Well, damn it. I don't like lanes.
- 30:26Speaker 4: I'm going to punish you anyways.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:28Speaker 2: I declare. bankruptcy you gotta be able to just like
- 30:32Speaker 2: oh let's just have a vote you don't have a
- 30:34Speaker 2: vote i don't like them you.
- 30:35Speaker 6: Just want to vote them out i'm gonna vote them
- 30:37Speaker 6: out for cause.

- 33:06Speaker 7: over at Poncho.
- 33:07Speaker 2: As you can see. Best shirts ever made, probably. Always
- 33:11Speaker 2: rocking the poncho.
- 33:12Speaker 7: I think today's a perfect example of the different poncho
- 33:16Speaker 7: shirts that you can get. You see on the board
- 33:19Speaker 7: behind us, that's Matt actually wearing one of the LSU shirts.
- 33:22Speaker 7: If you watched the broadcast this weekend, I had on
- 33:26Speaker 7: a purple Pearl Snap button-up. poncho right they've got a
- 33:29Speaker 7: lot of different shirts including t-shirts like flynn and i
- 33:32Speaker 7: are wearing today they've got holos t-shirt hoodies which we
- 33:37Speaker 7: both enjoy as well a little bit of everything over
- 33:39Speaker 7: there poncho poncho outdoors.com slash off the bench poncho outdoors.com
- 33:45Speaker 7: slash off the bench get you ten dollars off there bro.
- 33:48Speaker 8: I'll tell you like once the uh cools months arrive
- 33:52Speaker 8: the cool season comes around hey man some of their
- 33:55Speaker 8: long sleeve shirts are the best shirts I've ever put
- 33:58Speaker 8: on in my life as well.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Like, they got some denim, some flannel.
- 34:04Speaker 7: Nobody loves a Canadian tuxedo like Flynn either.
- 34:07Speaker 8: Well, I tell you what. They got some good looking stuff.
- 34:12Speaker 8: Y'all know my favorite one's the denim vest? The one
- 34:15Speaker 8: with the arms ripped off? Right to bare arms? You
- 34:20Speaker 8: do have that one.
- 34:25Speaker 3: Um.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Honestly, I know we're going to continue a little bit here,
- 34:29Speaker 2: a little bit there. I don't want to. I know.
- 34:31Speaker 7: And for me, I'll just, you know, other shows are
- 34:34Speaker 7: probably going to do like two hours on this. We
- 34:37Speaker 7: have actually football games to talk about, to break down,
- 34:40Speaker 7: to continue to preview.
- 34:41Speaker 5: So.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Go get it. Like, you know, and I know the
- 34:45Speaker 2: president's going to speak on it later, but.
- 34:46Speaker 6: I think he's.
- 34:49Speaker 2: He's about to. He's almost ready. He's at the podium.
- 34:51Speaker 2: I think he's almost.
- 34:52Speaker 4: He's getting warmed up, yeah.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Drinking water.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 34:55Speaker 7: I think in closing, LSU can own the mistakes it
- 34:58Speaker 7: made here.
- 34:59Speaker 2: We all agree there, right?
- 35:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:01Speaker 2: You own the mistakes it made. Pat the chest.
- 35:04Speaker 7: But the SEC needs to own the fact that it
- 35:06Speaker 7: has turned an eligibility dispute into a full-blown power play.
- 35:11Speaker 2: I think we all agree there.
- 35:13Speaker 7: If those players aren't going to be on LSU's roster,
- 35:16Speaker 7: and we're still talking about throwing a founding member out
- 35:19Speaker 7: of the conference, then this was never about two players.
- 35:23Speaker 2: This is about sending a message to.
- 35:24Speaker 7: flexing authority, as we talked about last segment, making sure
- 35:28Speaker 7: nobody challenges the league. And at this point, the SEC
- 35:32Speaker 7: isn't protecting the conference. It's making itself look ridiculous. And
- 35:37Speaker 7: I love the SEC. Me and Commissioner Sankey have a
- 35:41Speaker 7: great relationship. Interviewed him many times. Love every conversation I've
- 35:44Speaker 7: ever had with him. And again, I want to make
- 35:49Speaker 7: sure I say LSU owns its own part of this,
- 35:52Speaker 7: no doubt about it. But I am surprised with how
- 35:56Speaker 7: this has gone, considering Commissioner Sankey thinks out every single
- 36:01Speaker 7: thing that he does to the smallest detail. And I'm
- 36:04Speaker 7: shocked by this reaction from somebody that I've got the
- 36:08Speaker 7: utmost respect for.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Yeah, from a very calculated man. Very calculated.
- 36:12Speaker 8: And I don't think we've ever had anything to really
- 36:14Speaker 8: say negative about him. And that's hard to do with
- 36:17Speaker 8: somebody in charge. I mean, think about, like, Goodell in
- 36:19Speaker 8: the NFL. Like, how many players? He gets booed every year.
- 36:22Speaker 3: Right.
- 36:23Speaker 8: At the draft, everybody has bad things to say about
- 36:25Speaker 8: him all the time. I don't know if anybody's, I mean,
- 36:29Speaker 8: not that I'm aware of, and I don't, I certainly
- 36:31Speaker 8: am far from knowing almost a lot of things in sports,
- 36:36Speaker 8: especially college sports and within the SEC, but like, I
- 36:39Speaker 8: don't really feel like anybody's ever had a reason to
- 36:43Speaker 8: like question him or be like, why did he do that?
- 36:45Speaker 8: That was dumb, blah, blah, blah. But this seems out
- 36:47Speaker 8: of character for him. It doesn't seem like a, a knee-jerk, sensitive,
- 36:54Speaker 8: you ticked me off, so I'm going to get a
- 36:57Speaker 8: little bit of revenge on you type situation.
- 36:59Speaker 2: I mean, calling for a vote. I mean, this is after.
- 37:02Speaker 8: LSU did the thing that you wanted them to do
- 37:06Speaker 8: in the first place, which was not roster those guys.
- 37:08Speaker 8: Because you made a comment coming off of halftime that
- 37:11Speaker 8: wasn't even in the microphone that you clearly were joking about.
- 37:15Speaker 8: You made a comment after the game. Like, give me
- 37:17Speaker 8: a break.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Like, a comment... Is reason for expulsion?
- 37:23Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Lack of control is what they cited. Lack of control.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Because a.
- 37:33Speaker 8: Uber competitive man, who all head coaches are uber competitive,
- 37:39Speaker 8: a lot of egos everywhere.
- 37:41Speaker 2: Egos are a good thing to have most of the time. Right.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Especially at that level. You have to have one to
- 37:46Speaker 2: be a great player or coach.
- 37:49Speaker 8: Your team just... All this stuff about they're getting pro players, blah, blah, blah.
- 37:54Speaker 8: Your team just went out and kicked Clemson's butt. Thoroughly,
- 38:01Speaker 8: no questions asked. Almost every single play was a win
- 38:05Speaker 8: for your Tigers. And you joke about, what if we
- 38:09Speaker 8: had blue players?
- 38:10Speaker 2: Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 38:11Speaker 8: And then that's what you... Invent something. Invent another reason.
- 38:17Speaker 8: Because that reasoning that you gave it removes all credibility
- 38:23Speaker 8: you have from this whole vote. I mean, it removes
- 38:27Speaker 8: all credibility you have from saying, well, he's buttoned up,
- 38:30Speaker 8: he knows this and that.
- 38:31Speaker 2: No, it's a witch hunt. Alondra, Tay-Tay, anything to add?
- 38:39Speaker 4: I've said my piece on this.
- 38:40Speaker 2: I mean, I'm good.
- 38:41Speaker 4: I think the whole thing's ridiculous.
- 38:45Speaker 9: I guess my only other thing is that how much,
- 38:49Speaker 9: How many eyes do you think that Lane Kiffin at
- 38:52Speaker 9: LSU is bringing to TV, which the rights and everything?
- 38:59Speaker 9: I think the Longhorns bring in the most revenue in
- 39:03Speaker 9: the SEC or whatever, but how much do you think
- 39:05Speaker 9: LSU is bringing in?
- 39:06Speaker 6: Either one of.
- 39:07Speaker 2: The top brands, no doubt. It's just stupid. Did we
- 39:12Speaker 2: get any numbers on that broadcast yet?
- 39:16Speaker 4: But to that point, though, how does ESPN react to
- 39:19Speaker 4: all this? Because they have a deal with all the
- 39:20Speaker 4: SEC teams. LSU is included in that if they're.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Not in it.
- 39:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:24Speaker 4: It's the sec obspn money.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Yeah i mean it's it's i don't think it is
- 39:30Speaker 2: a path that.
- 39:33Speaker 8: And like this is this is coming from us like
- 39:35Speaker 8: we don't know what is his people are telling him
- 39:37Speaker 8: what he's this conversation like but i don't think it's
- 39:39Speaker 8: a path that sankey really wants to go down you
- 39:43Speaker 8: kick him out you are You're making a mockery of
- 39:46Speaker 8: the system, and you're just pushing towards there just being
- 39:49Speaker 8: one giant conference.
- 39:50Speaker 4: It's a knee-jerk reaction.
- 39:51Speaker 2: It's a knee-jerk reaction. This is a means to an end.
- 39:54Speaker 8: If you want to create more chaos and push for
- 39:57Speaker 8: something that is not the SEC anymore or not the
- 40:00Speaker 8: Big Ten or whatever.
- 40:01Speaker 6: Lane's just speeding it up. Lane's just speeding the process up.
- 40:05Speaker 8: Yeah, and then Sankey's trying to throw gasoline on the process.
- 40:07Speaker 7: All right, I know we've got to take a break,
- 40:10Speaker 7: but the last thing I'll say— There's only two ways
- 40:14Speaker 7: for teams to go when things like this are going
- 40:16Speaker 7: on around them.
- 40:18Speaker 2: You either allow it to become too much of.
- 40:20Speaker 7: A distraction and it takes your focus away from the
- 40:24Speaker 7: main thing and you don't play well and the building
- 40:28Speaker 7: kind of falls apart. Or you say, screw everybody but
- 40:32Speaker 7: anybody in this building and you come together and you
- 40:35Speaker 7: get closer and you do everything out of spite. I've
- 40:38Speaker 7: been a part of both those situations. This one could
- 40:41Speaker 7: be wrong.
- 40:41Speaker 2: It's one game.
- 40:42Speaker 7: This feels like they're coming together, and they are going
- 40:45Speaker 7: to go tell everybody what they can go do, which
- 40:47Speaker 7: Lane said at halftime.
- 40:48Speaker 6: See halftime speech.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Right.
- 40:49Speaker 6: Yeah, reference the halftime speech.
- 40:51Speaker 7: It truly feels like that. They played like that. They
- 40:53Speaker 7: played with an aggressive nature. I don't expect that to
- 40:56Speaker 7: go away. If I'm Louisiana Tech, I'm pretty angry that
- 41:00Speaker 7: this is going on because I'm about to catch the
- 41:02Speaker 7: wrath of this.
- 41:04Speaker 2: And then we all know what's the week after that.
- 41:07Speaker 2: All right.
- 41:08Speaker 7: Let's take more OTB when we come back here live from...
- 41:11Speaker 7: The Raising Cane Studio.
- 41:12Speaker 6: Off the bench.
- 41:13Speaker 7: All right, go to centralplumbing.org. Centralplumbing.org is the website. It
- 41:19Speaker 7: is in Baton Rouge, the greater Baton Rouge area. It's
- 41:21Speaker 7: also in Lafayette as well now.
- 41:24Speaker 2: That's right. They are growing. They are expanding. And you
- 41:26Speaker 2: all know they've been in the game for over 50 years.
- 41:30Speaker 7: And so you're not going to have a problem that
- 41:32Speaker 7: they haven't seen, that they haven't fixed, that they haven't.
- 41:34Speaker 7: made sure that you're back up and running at your home,
- 41:37Speaker 7: at your business. It's emergency service 24-7, 365, but not
- 41:42Speaker 7: only in emergencies. If you're looking to upgrade as well,
- 41:45Speaker 7: they can come in. They can do that.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Centralplumbing.org.
- 41:47Speaker 8: All right, centralplumbing.org, centralplumbing.org. You're plumbing experts for a long
- 41:51Speaker 8: time in the greater Baton Rouge area. Now, Baton Rouge, Lafayette,
- 41:54Speaker 8: so whatever it is, residential, commercial, whatever the need is,
- 41:58Speaker 8: gas lines, water lines, they can do it all. They've
- 42:01Speaker 8: been doing it a long time, too. The third-generation company,
- 42:03Speaker 8: the Payne family, has been doing it a long time.
- 42:05Speaker 8: If you're in business that long in this area, that
- 42:08Speaker 8: means a couple things. It means you're doing business the
- 42:10Speaker 8: right way, you're treating people the right way, and the
- 42:11Speaker 8: service you're providing is expert level. So if you have
- 42:14Speaker 8: a need, gas line, water line, whatever it is, go
- 42:16Speaker 8: to centralplumbing.org.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Welcome back to Off the Bench. Wednesday's show is brought
- 42:44Speaker 1: to you by Poncho.
- 42:45Speaker 5: Future sex love sounds.
- 42:48Speaker 6: 20 years old yesterday.
- 43:07Speaker 2: That's why your knees hurt if you're dancing to this
- 43:09Speaker 2: in the car. That's a perfect album to play when
- 43:12Speaker 2: we got these poncho billboards up. You did walk in, apparently,
- 43:16Speaker 2: and say sex. I did. It's so.
- 43:20Speaker 6: Literally turned around and went.
- 43:21Speaker 7: Oh, sex.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Look at these poncho shirts, man. Great banners.

- 43:57Speaker 6: I hit that.
- 43:58Speaker 2: All right. In about 30 seconds, you said the president? Yeah,
- 44:04Speaker 2: I think we're going to throw the coverage over to D.C. Okay, Washington. Washington, D.C.
- 44:11Speaker 2: From the White House. Because this is a big deal.
- 44:15Speaker 8: I mean, he hasn't spoken since Boo Corgan.
- 44:18Speaker 2: I know. Boo Corgan. Let's go ahead and throw it
- 44:23Speaker 2: to Trump. All right, here is the president.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Greg Sankey, Sensitive Sankey, that's what we call him now,
- 44:29Speaker 3: is very upset, very sensitive guy. Maybe the most sensitive
- 44:34Speaker 3: commissioner we've ever seen. Sensitive Sankey had to come all
- 44:37Speaker 3: the way down to Baton Rouge and testify, and he
- 44:41Speaker 3: did not like it.
- 44:42Speaker 2: Not one bit. Very butthurt.
- 44:44Speaker 3: And now all of a sudden, he's mad at LSU.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Oh, is that?
- 44:52Speaker 6: Sorry, I thought it.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Can you believe it?
- 44:54Speaker 3: LSU, one of the greatest programs in the history of
- 44:57Speaker 3: the conference. LSU helped build the SEC. Incredible program. Great fans.
- 45:03Speaker 3: Maybe LSU isn't the problem. Maybe the SEC has a
- 45:07Speaker 3: Sankey problem.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Wow. Chills. Where'd you find that again, Matt? I hadn't
- 45:15Speaker 2: seen that. It's on all the places. That was live.
- 45:23Speaker 2: Maybe that's the same problem.
- 45:24Speaker 4: He had a problem with the teleprompter.
- 45:25Speaker 2: He did, right there. Hang on a second. He's kind
- 45:27Speaker 2: of froze. Okay.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Off the bench.
