- 0:22on the pig. And if you want to sell your house to help make
- 0:25a new product for your business, but your wife doesn't want to. Can
- 0:29Kevin from Shark Tank make you? Kevin from Shark Tank tells us real people
- 0:34hold cases, take justice. Joe gave another another Friday. Oh my goodness,
- 0:47another Friday? You do that? How did she do that? That's
- 0:53a DC talk free at last? How do they do that? Good stuff?
- 0:57Man? Man, what an exciting day. A new court show for
- 1:00Brandon, a money court with Kevin O'Leary. And not only that, but
- 1:04I think we have the days of twenty seventh, third, the tenth,
- 1:10seventeenth, twenty fourth. If we do one on the night of the twenty
- 1:14fourth, we only have two more gabbles in between now and brambleforth. Wow,
- 1:18I know big time. That is a really big time. Yeah.
- 1:22That should put it in perspective how close we are to the fest, so
- 1:25close to it so close to the fest you can almost smell it. What's
- 1:27the first smell? Boh oh, sid It's unfortunate, it's really rigged.
- 1:34Mainly, Yeah, well what can you do? Rig I'm on all natural
- 1:37deodorant called Crisco slathered on real good. Helps keep that stink, that musk
- 1:48looking right, It helps keep the stink. You load me, chris go
- 1:52for the winds. What the kids just say in these days, the kids
- 1:56are saying Chrisco for the win? I did. I went to Public's to
- 1:59by the Christs go. They were out of Crisco. So I looked for
- 2:00like an alternative to Crisco. Had a few options, which what was your
- 2:07pants? Uh? Do you want to go first? You want me to?
- 2:14I'll go first. Okay. So he went to the store to find
- 2:17an alternative to Crisco, and he went with his pants. Yes, yeah,
- 2:23I don't know if that holds up. I don't know if that holds
- 2:24up. But as a natural deodorant, your pants are as effectives oil.
- 2:30Yes, I mean I don't know. Judge Joe Brown is in the courtroom.
- 2:36Joe, that long arm of the law takes us justice. Now you're
- 2:40going to just take that credit card. Ma'am. Uh, that's Judge Joe
- 2:45Brown. I literally do Judge Joe Brown, just to do the impression.
- 2:47Yes, yeah, that's what I'm here for. Who does he? How?
- 2:53How how long did it take him to get off subject today? Oh?
- 2:55Man? Well, he was so mad at the defendants, okay,
- 3:00that he stays on subjects pretty much the whole time because of how mad he
- 3:04is at the defendant. Okay. Catherine Nixon is suing her niece Denise niece
- 3:13uh and his niece. Is it Dennie's if that works plants. Catherine is
- 3:20suing her for four thousand, seven hundred and seventy three dollars. Four thousand,
- 3:25seven hundred and seventy three dollars, God, exactly right now, she
- 3:30says, last November, my niece asked if she could borrow my credit card
- 3:35to help out with Christmas gift for her daughter. That's very interesting because last
- 3:39Christmas, I gave you my heart, that's right. Yeah, And the
- 3:43next day you know what I did, what you gave it away? I
- 3:46know? Right, next year, maybe you'll learn This year give it a
- 3:49shot. I'm gonna say, yeah, I'm gonna this time, I actually
- 3:52give it to someone smart, smart of you to do and I don't know
- 3:53why I didn't do that last year. Last year, I was all Willie
- 3:55Nilly, Yeah, once bitten twice, shy, yeah, Jade, I
- 4:02don't know after one's bitten twice, you're close to those songs stamp shade about
- 4:10shady yeah. Uh uh. So she said she agreed she would agree to
- 4:16pay me back when she got her tax return she would receive in the new
- 4:19year. Sorry, So she gave her niece four thousand, gave her just
- 4:25a credit card. I see she's the card because her niece said, I
- 4:29need to buy some gifts from my daughter. I don't have any money for
- 4:30Christmas Christmas, and Aunt Catherine was like, yeah, we don't want a
- 4:33daughter not having presents for Christmas. Open the you know, go ahead and
- 4:36go bye. And she's got something to open on Christmas Day. That's very
- 4:40kind, super kind, and did not give her a limit though, No,
- 4:43didn't give her a limit. No, maybe that was a mistake.
- 4:45So she gets her bill on the twenty sixth and the bill is for over
- 4:48five thousand dollars. Oh wow. She emailed her niece to ask what happened,
- 4:54and the niece's email back and just said sorry, I didn't realize that
- 4:58we spent that much, and I'll pay you back. One thing leads to
- 5:00another. One thing leads to another, especially when you're using the credit card
- 5:04for every living thing imaginable. There were fifteen restaurant charges, including Garfields and
- 5:12Texas Roadhouse. Uh, going to Garfields. It's a restaurant like all the
- 5:18time. It's not that would be the cat. Garfields used to be a
- 5:20chain restaurant like Applebee's. I enjoyed by Garfield. Sho it was good all
- 5:27asagna all the time. That's right. Uh, I would go there,
- 5:30She says that, Yeah, of course you would. Pictures of Garfield a
- 5:33cat everywhere. Yeah, every server has to wear whiskers. They can't talk,
- 5:39they just can play recorder and just what's the dog's name in Garfield?
- 5:43Yeah? Wow, so fast. I watched a Garfield Christmas special every year
- 5:51since I was a child. You haven't seen Garfield forever any years years,
- 5:57And I was waiting for somebody to Garfield locked and loaded. Not gonna get
- 6:02that one by me. So anyway, She's like, yeah, can I
- 6:05have kind of famous dogs for five hundred please? Kind of famous cartoon dogs.
- 6:10For five hundred, it would be five hundred two. That'd be the
- 6:12hardest one. Uh No, it's one hundred. That's its regular Jeopardy second
- 6:17and second in the second round. There is no five hundred. It's two
- 6:23hundred, four or six or eight hundred thousand. So if you say five
- 6:26hundred, it's the most difficult. You know, I hear they're looking for
- 6:28a host. Really, I'm here, My ode knowledge is off the off
- 6:31the charts. Can I just really quickly please do what? Who? Who
- 6:38wanted Mike? Who wanted him to be the host? Nobody? Anybody?
- 6:42Yeah? You know what, here's an unpopular opinion. Of all the I
- 6:45watched about every week at least like one day. Wow, of all the
- 6:49no, no, no, of all the celebrity hosts, Joe Buck was
- 6:54the best. Wow. Joe Buck was really good. And you know why,
- 6:57he wasn't like vying for the job. And he he has an announce
- 7:00her voice, so he was just cracking jokes. He was great. He
- 7:02was just relaxed. Why did they do this whole thing to give it to
- 7:08the one of the producers who no one cares about and everyone want of LaVar
- 7:12Burton who was very earnest and clearly wanted the job, and that was unfortunate.
- 7:15So anyway, Catherine says, hey, she's going out to all these
- 7:18restaurants, and Joe has the sheet the credit card built yes, and he
- 7:25is like, well, statement, you short didn't miss any meals and she
- 7:30and the woman's over there just like whatever. And then there's nineteen nineteen charges
- 7:34at grocery stores Kroger, Target, Walmart, and he starts reading them off.
- 7:40Eleven hundred dollars at Kroger, What were you buying at Kroger? Like,
- 7:44that's what he's starting to do. Christmas shopping at Kroger, Target,
- 7:47Walmart. You can get by. Denise says, I did spend that.
- 7:54I did overspend eleven hundred dollars at Croker. We'll get back to that in
- 7:59a second. Joe says, a whole lot of old spending is what you
- 8:01do? Well what you did? Why do you have to eat all those
- 8:05meals? And she's like, we like to eat I guess yeah, oh
- 8:11yeah. The golf field does a like Lasagnaodi. He wants to eat something
- 8:15else at Kroger. He just wants a good scratcher. So scratcher like a
- 8:20lot of ticket or that havn't cost a dime, that's free. Uh,
- 8:24and he's she said, we we do make payments on this. I want
- 8:28to let you know we do make payments. And he says, you've been
- 8:31paying her and she says, no, my mom has made a payment.
- 8:35And Joe Brown at this point stops and says, you are in your thirties,
- 8:39for God's sakes, why is your mom making payments? And she basically
- 8:46says, I don't make enough money. And my mom did pay her once
- 8:48four hundred and thirty eight dollars. I can't afford to make any payments.
- 8:52I don't have the ability. So there we have the four seven hundred and
- 8:56seventy. It was a little bit over five hundred and four thousand. There
- 8:58we go. So then he says, if you can't afford it, why
- 9:03did you continue to go out to eat and buy things with someone else's credit
- 9:07card? And why'd you do it if you couldn't afford it? And she
- 9:09says, well, a lot of those places were Christmas shopping and he says
- 9:16for whom and she's like, well, my family, my niece's nephew's daughter.
- 9:24I didn't know how much I spent on him. I just figured I'd
- 9:26make the payments and you know, I'd get it back to her eventually,
- 9:31like she'd get her money back eventually. It's a new type of ball.
- 9:35And she never blinks. She never is like I can't believe it. She's
- 9:37just very like just whatever. So Joe is starting to read all these expenditures
- 9:43and she he's like, eleven hundred and eighty dollars at Kroger. You ate
- 9:46all that food in three days. And she's back three days later for more,
- 9:50and she went back to Kroger, turned up. She works at Kroger.
- 9:54And then he's like, and then there's one for eight dollars at Kroger
- 9:58and she says, you can buy give cards at Croger. He said,
- 10:01a gift card for eight dollars. And then he's like, he says something
- 10:05like what what can they buy with that? I'll oaf of bread, you
- 10:07know, some classics Joe Brown bit uh and uh. And he's like,
- 10:13she said, I have to feed a lot of it and doing Joe Brown
- 10:16at the fet Oh for sure, Yeah, there's no doubt about it.
- 10:18Uh. He's like, who are you feeding with that? And she's like
- 10:20me, my mom, my dad, and my daughter. We all live
- 10:22together. And then and then Joe does go on a bit of a tangent.
- 10:26I forgot about this. He goes, now, are you sure you
- 10:31weren't buying these things and selling it to people at a discount? How do
- 10:35you account for five thousand dollars? And she's like, I wasn't doing that
- 10:39at all. I think you were. I think this is this is the
- 10:41kind of thing that happens, you know. And he's like, this is
- 10:43like about you know, we get they buy stuff and then I make money
- 10:48off of it, and then somebody else is saddled with the bill. And
- 10:50uh. She's like, no, I just didn't realize I was spending that
- 10:52much. And he's just like, how could you not? What all are
- 10:56you buying? You're going to Kroger two and three four times a week?
- 11:01You spend eleven hundred dollars on groceries in one week? What are you eating?
- 11:05How are you spending this much money? And she's like, we just
- 11:11you know, we eat a lot of food. What can I tell you?
- 11:13And he's like, are you getting child support? She says no.
- 11:16He says, how do you pay your rent? And she says, I
- 11:18don't have to pay rent. I live with my mom and dad. So
- 11:20it turns out she owed someone else eleven hundred dollars because she got seventeen hundred
- 11:24dollars back on her taxes, and then she paid that other person eleven hundred.
- 11:30She had six hundred left, and she told her aunt she'd start paying
- 11:33her six hundred dollars, and she said have you And Joe says, have
- 11:37you made any payments? And then he goes, not your mother, and
- 11:41then she says, no, I have not, And then Joe Brown's ready
- 11:45to rule. Yeah, I think she's gonna get all the money seven hundred
- 11:48and seventy three dollars. I cannot imagine any world where she doesn't get all
- 11:52of that money. He actually, the interest rate on the card you don't
- 11:56pay it is pretty pretty high, and apparently we're in like March now,
- 12:01boy, So he gives her four nine hundred and seventeen dollars of interest plus
- 12:07the principal. So he gives her almost ten grand and says shame on you
- 12:13to that woman several times. I ain't a missing O meals, though I
- 12:18do want to say, I'm not entirely sure about the math, like,
- 12:22I don't know that's it's four months. Well, if it was, it
- 12:24was almost six thousand dollars, and if it was thirty percent, that's eighteen
- 12:28hundred dollars. I don't know how you got to four and seven. Like,
- 12:33you're a lot of interest, that's a you have gotten a bad credit.
- 12:35Well, he said interest four thousand, nine unders seventeen dollars and eighty
- 12:41three cents plus your cost. That's what he said, and then he said
- 12:43case closed. So he never gave the total amount. Maybe he said that's
- 12:48the way I understood it. If you heard it, he said interest four
- 12:50thousand dollars, seventeen dollars eighty three cents plus your cost. What else could
- 12:56that mean unless he meant the forty nine to seventeen was with the interest and
- 13:00the cost of you coming to court. But he never gives the full amount.
- 13:03We never hear it. Interesting, Well, good enough, Yeah,
- 13:05I want to introduce you to a brand new show that's airing on I believe
- 13:09CNBC, ORNSNBC. I don't know. Kevin O'Leary of Shark Tank fame,
- 13:15mister Wonderful as he likes to call himself, has a new show called money
- 13:20court, and it is when two people bring a disagreement in regards to money
- 13:28and he basically just tells you what to do. Now. At least a
- 13:31case that I saw, there was nothing legally binding or at least legally wrong
- 13:37with what was going on. Does this do they have to follow? What
- 13:39do they do have to follow? They sign? I'm sorry I should have
- 13:43said legally binding. There's nothing nobody in this case broke any laws. Okay,
- 13:48got it. This is just we don't know what to do in this
- 13:50situation. Can you give us some advice and we are legally obligated now to
- 13:56follow that advice. So it is a hug been in wife here in court
- 14:01today. Jared and Karina Rabin. Jared and Karina Rabin. Yes, now
- 14:09Jared and Karna. They own a company. That company has a product called
- 14:13the Hango Madic. Hango Madic, Hango Madic. Now the Hango Madic definition
- 14:20make the boys go local. Hango Maddic is a like a tape measurer that
- 14:28you can slide this thing down the tape measurer. When you find the studs,
- 14:31it'll make the holes for you so that it's you know, now you
- 14:35said slide the thing down. The tape measurer slide. Yeah, you mean
- 14:39the tape measure. Sure, slide. The measurer is the person holding the
- 14:43tape measure. You slide the You that too, You slide the little There's
- 14:48these studs that are, uh, you know, four inches apart. So
- 14:52I don't know it's a it's a tape measure with a stud finds the studs.
- 14:56I don't know if it actually finds the studs. I think that might
- 14:58be in what's coming up here. So he has a new idea for a
- 15:03new product, product number two. The Hango Madic's not going anywhere. It's
- 15:07just a new, a new, an up and coming Hango Matic a little
- 15:11extra for a little extra. You know. It's a new skew. If
- 15:15you want an extra, if you want an extra something, you can pay
- 15:16an extra something where you can just get to the og Hango Matictics amoch.
- 15:20So they need cash to make this happen. Okay, you got to get
- 15:24the new product design created, and then you need money for inventory. So
- 15:31he decides that we are going to sell our house. Okay, I think
- 15:39that we should sell our house. With that, we will make about four
- 15:43hundred thousand dollars on that. Wow, Okay, got a lot of equity
- 15:48in that bad boy. He has four hundred thousand dollars worth of equity in
- 15:52the house right now. He says, I want three hundred and ninety thousand
- 15:56of that to go towards this new product. Okay, So the money there
- 16:03is a ninety k to get the product created, to get the designed,
- 16:07to get the the jail or whatever however these cell a what's it called the
- 16:15it's the thing to create the product. And then he wants to get three
- 16:18hundred thousand dollars worth of inventory. Okay, So three hundred ninety thousand,
- 16:23leaving him with ten thousand dollars worth of equity still hanging out for for the
- 16:29next thing. So his wife Karina is like, no, I don't want
- 16:33to move. I don't want to move. Don't want to move. I'm
- 16:37I'm an immigrant from Russia. All my life I was moving. I was
- 16:41moving, I was moving. And I love my home, our kids love
- 16:44our home. We are in a coldest sack. Do you know how hard
- 16:47is to find the coldest sack? Those don't grow on trees, they sure
- 16:51don't. There's not a cold a sack Tree. It said that weird cold
- 16:55a sack Tree. So Jared says, listen, the money we would get
- 17:00from the home is what we need to start this product. And uh,
- 17:04this product would help jump start the next stage of our life. It would
- 17:08be the next big thing. He doesn't want to spend all four hundred,
- 17:11He doesn't want to just want to spend ten thousand, left behind ten thousand,
- 17:15he does? You want to spend three hundred and ninety three hundred ninety
- 17:18okay, And so they then asked Jared, Jared, why can't you just
- 17:23use like revenue from your the success of the Hangou to do this. And
- 17:29Jared says, well, h with the revenue, with the revenue that we
- 17:34we got, we bought this really expensive house. House was I think one
- 17:40point two million dollars. Oh wow, no wonder they're getting fur hundred thousand
- 17:42out of it. Yes, that's that's how they're doing that. And so
- 17:48we did that, and now I have this idea for the Hango Matic two
- 17:52point zero. And I can see now that we should sell the house,
- 17:56get the money, and then opportunities are endless if I can just do this
- 18:00one thing. Opportunities are endless exactly right. They own the company fifty to
- 18:07fifty, so the family owns one hundred percent of the company, which is
- 18:08great. The idea was Jared's. The Hango Mattic was Jared's idea, but
- 18:15he wasn't really doing anything with it. It wasn't until he showed Karina when
- 18:18they were dating this idea, and Karna kind of forced him to get it
- 18:23ready to take the market. She found a trade show to take it to
- 18:27where they got their first purchase order. She she's the one that got basically
- 18:34took this thing and made it what it is. So it's not that Karina
- 18:38doesn't want to do hard work. No, it's not that she doesn't care
- 18:41about this draw investment. It's just that she doesn't want to move cull the
- 18:47sack called the sack tree. Uh. So ironically this is interesting. The
- 18:53way that they got the money to fund the first version of Hango Man was
- 19:00selling a house. So he says, listen, we've done it once.
- 19:04It worked really great. We know we know how to make this work.
- 19:11There's no reason and if I do if we do this and we get this
- 19:14out there, we're not gonna have to work another day in our life.
- 19:15He works another job fifty five dollars a week, so he'll be able to
- 19:18quit that and he's like, you know, I wouldn't have to work anymore.
- 19:22We would just be able to do this would be great. Now,
- 19:25Kevin says, what are you going to do when you move? What's your
- 19:30plan? He's like, well, my plan is just to moves into an
- 19:33apartment until we figure things out. And Kevin quickly has two people with him,
- 19:38a former judge and a former attorney, just to help with legal things.
- 19:42Those former judges are also former attorneys. I don't know to tell you
- 19:45one get straight to judge past attorney. I'm sure that she was also,
- 19:49but that's her highest Yes, you don't say, you know, say captain
- 19:55who was also used to be a private private? You know say it?
- 19:57No, it's tru jaw. So anyways, what they're both they're both moms,
- 20:04and one of them speaks up and says, you want to get rid
- 20:08of your could a sack They're very excited about this. You want to you
- 20:11want to get rid of the cold a sack house and move into an apartment
- 20:15with your kids. This is a bad idea, I mean, they're but
- 20:18they're treating this guy like he's like an absent father at this point. Right,
- 20:22well he this is what he says, Yes, you know, we'll
- 20:25move into apartment, but what you will get is me as a present husband
- 20:29and a present dad, which I'm not able to be right now. Yeah,
- 20:33so you know we lose could a sack, but you get dad.
- 20:37I mean, so treating cold a sack for dad, sex for sex for
- 20:41dad. No, I don't know. Sorry, I don't know about that.
- 20:42Uh so. Uh then Karina is like, listen, he wants to
- 20:47take us from the cold a sack. I'm not down with it. Jared
- 20:49says, you know this whole thing about you're gonna get me, it's gonna
- 20:52be worth it. And that's when Kevin brings up this little fact. Now
- 20:56you're you're a successful business. Now you have this successful brand. Uh,
- 21:02why don't you just go to a bank, get a loan and then and
- 21:06then pay it back? You know, why why don't you just do it
- 21:08that way? And uh, he says, I don't want to owe interest.
- 21:15I don't want to give somebody extra money. Like if I can get
- 21:18all this money up front, I won't have any debt. I won't have
- 21:22to pay anybody anything. It'll be great. And so he says this idea
- 21:27for Hango Mattic two point zero is a sure thing, and Kreta says,
- 21:32it's not a sure thing. We with Hango Matic. You know, we
- 21:36went through dozens of repackagings before it even worked. We lost over one hundred
- 21:41thousand dollars before we finally started to make money on Hango Matic. Nothing's a
- 21:45sure thing. There will be issues that we're not that we don't know about
- 21:48yet. It's tough. So now it's time for Kevin to send them away.
- 21:53Send them away. He's gonna he's gonna talk to his two people and
- 21:57uh, they're gonna they're gonna come up with what the verdict is or what
- 22:02the plan that Kevin has for their life is. Man, this is tough
- 22:06because there's no wrong answer here. There's no wrong answer. But what let
- 22:10me ask you is what do you think is the best thing for the family
- 22:15and the thing that will be in marriage? You got a compromise, right,
- 22:18Kevin says, most marriages fail not because of someone cheated, but because
- 22:23of a financial Birth's right. So what Kevin's gonna try to do here?
- 22:27Is try to do something that works best for the family. So my guess
- 22:33is he's gonna tell him to take a loan or he's gonna offer him a
- 22:36loon. That'd be my guess. But like I normally, I'm the guy
- 22:41who's like, yes, sell the house, get the money out of the
- 22:42house given it, get an apartment. That's a good mindset. But it
- 22:47just strikes me that if it's not a new invention, if it's a hanging
- 22:49matic two point zero, it seems like more of a risk than hang them
- 22:53OUTIC one point oho in my opinion. So I mean, I don't see
- 22:56you would think it less. But it's not gonna sell it. The first
- 23:00one did because there's a novelty of the first one. So for me,
- 23:03he's not gonna tell him to do what the dude wants to do. He's
- 23:07gonna tell him to get a loan, or he's going to offer him a
- 23:10loan. That's my best guess. As far as I know. Kevin doesn't
- 23:12offer any ting us here, so not doing that. He does say you're
- 23:17not going to sell the house. Here's what you're gonna do. You have
- 23:18four hundred thousand dollars of equity in this house. Yep, I want you
- 23:22to. I want you to pull ninety thousand dollars of equity from your house
- 23:27to fund the product. I then want you to take one hundred and fifty
- 23:30thousand dollars of equity from your house and put in an inventory. Do not
- 23:33take the full four hundred thousand dollars of equity in your house. Leave some
- 23:37of it, so it's basically half of what they have in the house.
- 23:41At that point, after you have the product and have sold one hundred and
- 23:47fifty thousand dollars worth of equity, not worth of equity, worth of Hango
- 23:52Mattic two point oh, then you could go to a bank and you could
- 23:53actually hackle. You could get a pretty low interest rate because you can say,
- 23:57hey, here's the product, and here's it and but he says this,
- 24:02but hopefully you don't have to do that because the thing is making money.
- 24:06Yeah, So that's really frustrating, like hearing that because the wife is
- 24:11not happy there, because they're still taking the money out of their house for
- 24:17a product she doesn't believe in. No, wife does believe in it.
- 24:19She's very happy with this. Her whole thing was I just want to find
- 24:22another way to fund us. She would have been fine going to get along
- 24:25like a full loan. Uh okay, she likes the product. She just
- 24:29doesn't want to move again because for him, I guess I'm frustrated for him
- 24:32then, because you gave him like a hundred steps and he wanted one step.
- 24:37He wanted sell the house, get the money, do the thing.
- 24:40And now it's all of this, like I gotta refine and get cash out.
- 24:45I gotta get two forty out, I gotta put one hundred and fifty
- 24:47in inventory. It's all gotta go perfect, and then I gotta go back
- 24:49and restructure again. But you know what, that's what keV does. That's
- 24:52what keV does. keV said, this is what's best for the family.
- 24:56All right, there you have, So there you go, Kevin money court.
- 25:00I don't understand how it's as much of a court as it is advice
- 25:06by financial advice with Kevin, But you know what, what can you Maybe
- 25:08there's more intense cases. Never know. We did. Everybody. Congratulations.
